spoiler]Basically a reboot of Megaman Legends Beta Quest[/spoiler]

A long time ago, the world had big islands called continents were most people lived, but a great disaster happened and the world became a big sea with population scatted into several islands. However despite how scarce land is, most islands are unhabited and ruins with valuable treasure exist in some on them.

The people of the world mostly rely in ancient technology driven by Quantum Refractors, a powerful energy source. These refractors lie in ancient ruins underground and in the sea, and are sought out by explorers called Diggers.

The problem is that Quantum Refractors are Blackbox technology and no one has figured a way to reproduce them, so they are a limited resource. Plus even the most stupid Digger has figured out that eventually no more Quantum Refractors will be found.

Yet, not all is lost, other sources of energy, even if less efficient, are used. The most common being Eolic energy and Geothermal energy.

Eolic energy is the use of air flow through wind turbines to mechanically power generators for electricity. So is especially useful in islands that regularly have strong winds.

Geothermal energy is using the heat of active volcanoes to generate electricity. Since sea water is such an abundant resource, cold sea water is heated in an active volcano, turned to steam, and then use that steam to drive electric generators.

But not every island has an active volcano or can rely on the wind for power, and many machines simply don't work with mere electricity, hence why Quantum Refractors are so valued.

Those who hunt down Quantum Refractors are called Diggers. While at first many people were Diggers, that is no longer the case because the use of alternative energies and simple machines that can function with mere electricity has become more and more commonplace.

That means that nowadays Diggers are treasure hunters, mercenaries, and even Sky Pirates. Simply put the type of people who live for adventure and or money.

That has started to give Diggers a bad name, specially since a event called the "Kattelox accident."

I don't understand how I find these quests on the catalog just as I go to bed.

there, you have a wealth of images to use, while still having the freedom to make an actual character that can be integrated into the setting.

> Aero

Your name is Aero.

And you have been arrested.

You are a thief and a troublemarker, while you could have worked as a mercenary or try to be a hero, why go for the harder options? Stealing is easier than playing hero and being a mercenary means obeying other people orders.

Why? Why would the daughter of a chief of police become a criminal? Because you had a stupid crush and you were a "rebel".

After being caught, whatever justification you had in your mind just sounds stupid.

> Think

Maybe... you just were bored? Your father is so strick with so many rules and hanging out with the Bright Bats was fun.

Being a Spotter meant you were mostly safe until that 'Chalkhead' backtracted your transmissions and found you. Then arrested you.

Stupid Hero, you were just having fun!

Well... your gang did break the law but it wasn't anything really bad, right?

Nope, all those excuses STILL sound stupid.

Oh come on you are Aero, master Spotter! Surely you can do better than that!

Tinker! They didn't get the stupid... I mean adorable ferret!

Uh.... but could he get you out?

The answer to your question is anwered when a tied up ferret is thrown in the cell next to you, and he is also inside a pet cage.

Ah well.

You know what? Sure they captured you, and the rest of the Bright Bats, but so what? Is not like...

Oh that's your dad, chief of police of Klickelan Island.

And he doesn't look happy.

But so what? You aren't happy either and if you are going to have a wonderful chat you should had a long time ago then so be it!

** Interlude: The Ferret **

Your name is Tinker and you are a a ferret. You got distracted by that shiny new part and you got captured.

Just as planned.

Well not as planned but people tends to think you are dumb.

And so they didn't bother to search you.

You take out the small tools you have hidden a a pouch under your scarf and get to work on getting free.

...

This is gonna take a while, stupid cage and ropes.

No time! Aero is crying, time to use your SECRET WEAPON!

The Reaverboteye in your belly use a laser abd melts the door lock, then does the name to the door in Aero's cell.

You then pick up Aero... or try too.

She is just too heavy for you. Aero looks surprised at you... why is everything blurry...

*Tinker has fainted.

personally, I've started to wonder what I actually WANT out of an MML quest in terms of plot. There's something lacking in being just your average digger/pirate.

Maybe an indiana jones/bounty hunter type, entirely focused on taking down reaverbots in certain ways to bring home museum pieces?

Or perhaps change up the flavor a bit by being in the far north or far south, where the land is endless Ice instead of water, Ruins the only shelter from the cold but filled with dangerous reaverbots.

Your name is Aero and you just got into a shouting match with your father a few hours, and now... you are free?

Well not yet, you pick up the ferret and run, then pick a small remote hidden in your clothes, women secret compartment indeed, thankfully they didn't do a strip search.

A robot activates nearby, and heads right into your location, you hope Tron didn't scam you with this thing...

>Battlesuit!

>Search and rescue!

>?

PS: Sorry this is going so slow. You guys voted for the less combat able character. We would be getting a lot more action if you had voted for Tron or Omega. And is hard to think of options that aren't "robot minions do thing" "build thing" or "fight this". Although this is still interesting.
>>
>>1932619
>Search and rescue!
>You came here to "rescue" some confiscated weapons, and you're going to do just that!

>And is hard to think of options that aren't "robot minions do thing" "build thing" or "fight this"
you don't have to accept votes you don't want. You didn't need to accept Aero or put the character choice to a vote in the first place.

Rather, you can MAKE Aero into the kind of character you want to write about, that was the POINT. There's a wide list of things that fall under "Spotter", and half of them are actiony. And that's all assuming you need to stick strictly to canon, which is hardly practical with what little we have.
>>
>>1932619
>Search and Rescue!

And yeah, ditto what the above anon said. Considering what Roll was capable of, and how Denise in Misadventures could pick up and throw the Gustaff with her bare hands, you can definitely do a lot with them. Leaping onto a reaverbot and dismantling them with your tools/rewiring them on the spot, taking advantage of the environment, laying traps, etc. You only need a Digger for exploring the kinds of Ruins barred behind a license. Plenty of room to do cool stuff otherwise.
>>
>>1932694
Aero isn't a mechanical genius like Roll or Tron. And does not have a combat role, that does limit a lot what can I do with her. That's because Legends 3 divided the roles that were filled by Megaman and Roll in the first game into a whole team. She is basically the equivalent to an Operator in Megaman X, hence she needs someone to be the muscle for her.

But is okay, I will think on something
>>
>>1932619
>>Search and rescue!

Woo! let's go! Battlesuit if things get dicey, tho
