The sun's bright rays force open your eyes.

Waking up rather dazed, you behold a beautiful, clear blue sky, as if you fell asleep outdoors in the countryside. Sitting up, you behold nothing but beautiful hilly green plains, a dated-looking dirt path in the distance, and not much else. You definitely aren’t home in Japan anymore.

Picking yourself up off the ground is not the easiest task as you struggle a bit to find your sense of balance. And FUCK, does your head hurt.

You seem to be experiencing some serious blunt force trauma right now, it makes thinking clearly difficult. Remembering your country of origin was a good start. Holding your head, you try to recollect your jumbled memories, especially and how you ended up in the middle of bum-fuck nowhere.

Who are you again?

>Billy "Bat" Iwo

Oh yeah,

You’re Iwo William-kun, better known as Billy the Bat Iwo for your choice of weapon. The baddest motherfucker to ever grace Rokujo High. Your name betrays your status as a half-breed, your father was soldier from the United States who was stationed around there before finding your mom and having you.

Put your hand to your head, and you realize your bleeding quite a bit. Typical for a head wound, but it make you wary. You should probably find somewhere to rest and take care of this.

Remembering the phrase "All roads lead to Rome", you decide to set out briskly on the nearby beaten-path to find your way.

You reminisce on what happened to get you to such a strange place as you walk this road alone.

“So how’s about treating me to lunch Takeo-san?”

“Y-yeah of course, please t-take it sir,” Takeo murmurs nervously, completely pinned against the brick wall at the back of Rokujo High by the scruff of his uniform collar.

“That’s what I thought, you fat lard. You need to go on a diet anyways and stop sitting out of gym period and oogling the girls. Look at youself. You’re a disgrace.”

You can’t stand the look of this nerdy, pasty excuse for a classmate. He’s begun to sweat uncontrollably from a combination of fear and a lack of good health. You drop him to the ground without warning, before he starts getting his gross sweat all over your uniform and turn the other way. Grabbing his personal belongs, you fish through his trash, tossing out all kinds of dumb shit, like those really expensive dolls that look like anime characters, to find his lunch-box. After grabbing the bento box, you inspect the inside, you’re not about to pollute the well kept machine that was your own body with garabage like Takeo-san has. It seems okay at first glance, grilled chicken with rice, vegetabl-

”...The fuck is this?” you ask your groveling victim.

You pull out some of the contents of your newly aquired luch, a boatload worth of higashi. The delicately made candies disgust you. You are not fond of sweets, especially fancy lumps of sugar such as these.

“Here, take these.”

You wrap up the sweets and place them with surprising gentleness in front of Takeo-san. He doesn’t react. Perhaps looking at you might cause him to piss himself. Having taken what you needed, you give him a word of advice, the malice gone from your voice.

“I seriously recommend talking to your mother about not packing your lunch with such unnecessary sweets, it’s really not good for you, Takeo-san.”

“Thank you sir!!” He blurts out in terror.

You take your spoils under your arm before making your way out. You have that sick feeling that you were witnessed in the act, but shake it off, remembering how you dragged this fool across the damn school to be unseen. You raise your hand in dismissal as you walk away.

“Thanks for the meal.”

That’s much better. You didn’t think you’d be able to survive on an empty stomach for the third day in a row, not being able to afford anything beyond one of those shitty vending machine coffees. You weren’t about to do that again for the third day in a row. Fuck that shit

You enjoy your hard earned meal in class, ignoring the cowardly stares of your classmates as you grace them with your presence this lunch period. After finishing, you decide to skip out on this boring-ass class, but as your leaving, you here a familiar voice call you by name as you walk out the door.

You know the person addressing you well, you turn to reciprocate in a slightly warmer tone than you would with others without a better history with you.

Who is this person to you?

>Your Little Brother - He’s not hard like you, but you’re his hero.

“Billy Bat-Niisan!!”

It was your little brother, Iwo Johnny. He’s 3 years your younger. The family resemblance is strong between the two of you. He looks just like a miniature, less aged version of you, but that’s where your similarities end. Your younger sibling is not hard and tough like you, and is of good temperament and nature. You keep it that way ever since you became the man of the house and became responsible for him and the rest of your family. He’s a good kid, and he worships the ground you stand on like a hero, much different from the treatment you get around here. What was he doing here? Rokujo mid is a few of blocks away. You remember dropping by once when you got word your little brother was getting bullied. You’ve only ever had to do this once, they way it should be done.

“What the hell are you doing here twerp, the school won’t want me back after they discover that I’m the evil clone.” You try to keep a serious tone as you crouch to meet him at eye level, headpatting him hard and rough enough that he can’t stand up straight. You break character as you chuckle your words out.

“I came here to see you of course. It’s lunchtime now. I’m skipping out on English class, it’s so boring, I’m too good at it, since you taught me everything I need to know.” He answers through his own laughter. He tries to regain his composure to show his confidence in himself to affirm you of his success.

You want to get upset with him for being so reckless, but he’s your little brother. you feel responsible for his behavior, not being the best influence a younger brother could have. It’d be best to indulge in him now and discipline him later. You don’t need him to become cruel and disillusioned like you.

“I wanted to ask you something, Niisan.”

You look your brother in the eyes and give him attention, prompting him to speak.

“I’m getting this new game that came out today, I wanted to know if you wanted to play with me?, It’s called Hero’s Fantasy 2. Everyone is going to have a copy. I saved up just enough money to get it before the release, I’m super excited!”

You haven’t had the time or the patience to play any video games as of late like you once did. It’s honestly not something you’re that interested in, to be honest. On the other hand, it’s been some time since you’ve actually spent quality time with your little brother. Why not? It’s better than him running into your goddamn high school for attention.

“Yeah, sure. As long as you get back to school before your English class starts.”

“I don’t wanna go to English, Niisan, but I’ll do it as long as you hang out with me later, I’ll meet you at the game store between our schools, See you then!” He chirps happily.

As your little brother happily runs out, you notice you’ve become the center of attention in the hallway. One quick glare from you at any onlookers that thought it’d be a good idea to eavesdrop sets them back into their usual school motions at doubletime and as if nothing happened, not wanting to meet the animosity behind your eyes.

The store is a couple of blocks away from here. Getting a new game It’s something you would have done together in the past, but not right now. Ever since you started your delinquency, and became the man of the house, you’ve become a bitter, gangster motherfucker. You’ve developed into quite the ner-do-well attitude with a rather intense personality and left your loved ones behind emotionally in doing so with these delinquent traits you’ve developed.

What kind of traits have you developed?
Pick 4

>Pet Peeve
You have a peculiar disposition about a certain thing, often times to can't control your anger when someone does something that really pisses you off involving this thing in particular.
The frenzy that follows can be circumstantially beneficial

Roll a D6 to determine your Pet Peeve.

>Manly
Though your demeanor can be quite serious and your attitude unpleasant, your well built, dark, grisled features are the epitome of masculinity. Girls like it and other guys respect it.

>Code
You are far from a saint, having a reputation for being a disrespectful hooligan by most authority figures. Paradoxially you live by very particular principles of honor and refuse to break them.

Roll a D6 to determine your Code

>Clever
While most would see you as a tactless brute, you have proven to be quite a sharp thinker, and have a way with words, especially when it comes to being convincing and engaging in witty banter.

>Big Guy
One of your most distinguishing features is your freakish height and size as a teenager. This trait is very intimidating to others when you know how to throw your weight around, and with good reason seeing as your all the stronger for it. Fighting against such you alone is often a very painful prospect, for them!

>Fight'n Spirit
Whether due to an abnormally thick skull, or your undying will, you refuse to take shit from anyone, and don't go down easily in a fight. This makes you harder and gives you the energy to keep up a a frightening level of stamina and endurance.

>Belligerent
Your not necessarily a bad guy on the inside, but your character has become one of barely contained anger on the inside due to the trials and frustrations of the past. When unleashed, your rage is legendary.

>>1884135
Cont. 2/2

>Master of Disaster
You've always been a pretty violent fighter, however your propensity for property damage is so great, they don't allow you in certain classrooms anymore for fear of damaging expensive equipment. You are more a force of nature than an ordinary man.
You are a master of using the environment to hurt people more and an expert at smashing stuff to pieces

>Skulking Menace
Avoiding authority has always been your strong suit. You managed to acquire the useful skill of laying low and creating the illusion you are not in trouble. Others have difficulty keeping tabs on you as you misbehave.
You can be quite stealthy when you feel like it, and get out of trouble with some effort as long as you aren’t caught red-handed.

>Eyes of Delinquency
You weren't always considered a menace to society at large. Much of your anger at the world comes from the labeling you've received due to your apparently inherently "scary face" and the dead look in your eye, which frankly scares most people.
You are less accepted by the authorities, but you have a greater affinity with the morally ambiguous.

>Thrill Seeker
Probably the biggest factor in your continued delinquency is the pursuit of an interesting and exciting lifestyle. Very much a junky for adrenaline, continued happenings can give you a huge rush and push you over the edge.
You can get pretty rowdy when witnessing explosions, near-death experiences and other adrenaline pumping events, but get bored easily.

3. Honest Man
One thing you absolutely won't tolerate is dishonesty. Liars are weak and cowardly, and you are far stronger. Not only do you refuse to tell a lie, but you also believe in being fair handed, and you never fight dirty, or resort to underhanded tactics. It just isn't you. It doesn’t mean your always gonna give your life’s story or something if they ask.

5. Unflinching Loyalty
The peers which you've kept under you have always been glad to have you around, for those that have been in your care have been defended from those that would do harm to them with tremendous ferocity. Nobody gets away with hurting your underlings, except you sometimes. You never snitch either, you see it as betrayal.

Your delinquent traits allow access and bonuses to certain special speech and physical actions befitting your behavior. This culminates as a score, which starts at 10. Utilizing these actions increases the score by an amount dependent on the situation (3 on average), not acting on them at the time reduces them by 1. Some actions overlap, and write ins can be modified to fit your traits if appropriate. Once a trait hits a score of zero, if it offered you a benefit, you lose the benefit it grants for good, having gone soft.

You pick yourself up as the surrounding students file themselves away. It’s about time you excused yourself from school. As begin walking through the sterile white halls of Rokujo High, you feel eyes on you.

“Iwo-san, we need you to come with us, you need to answer for your infractions”

You turn to the fool who called you out, noticing his green Discipline Committee armband. Sheepishly, you offer up your hands in front of you as if expecting to be handcuffed, smiling with a false innocence.

“Looks like you got me. By all means, come and escort me.”

_____________________________________________

You end up being late for your appointment after causing a scene in the halls, being forced to either participate in a long talk with the uppity shitheads in the Discipline Committee boardroom, or facing immediate suspension. You go with the former with some reluctance. You were to explain yourself about Takeo-san’s generous sharing of his lunch and the Discipline Committee member that you educated on the innovative idea that you can use a high school locker much like the average Japanese hotel room; a small cramped place to rest as you reflect on exactly where you fucked up in your life. You’ve really been slacking if that fat, ball-less fruitcup Takeo actually believed for a second he could snitch on you like that. You don’t blame the head of the Discipline Committee for the same level ignorance, they have a new girl in charge who just transferred.

You enter the minimalist Discipline Committee office, a boardroom used for hearing complaints, and resolving student-on-student conflicts. The one who tried to stop you ealier is present, he looks despondent, bruised and ashamed. Good.

There she is. The new president of the Committee sitting at her throne at the head of the table. She studies you intently. You reciprocate the scrutiny of the young lady. She is severe, clean-cut, proud, and obviously very very naive, surrounded by her lickspittle dogs, each wearing the appropriate armband of a member of this adorable little group of prefects. Her voice is somber and carries with it a numbingly cold undertone lurking faintly beneath.

>You proudly bear the title of the baddest man to walk in your district. This badass reputation precedes you, and you are feared and respected for your strength and dominance like a modern bogeyman. Strength and intimidation are your best talents.

Such a patronizing way of speaking does not sit well with you.

“That’s a bold-faced lie. Let’s be honest with each other Kurosaki-san. You want absolutely nothing to do with a reprehensible human being like me and likewise, I have no interest in you. The only thing you’re going to learn from me is that trying to control me is a fools errand, and that it’s in your best interest to keep a wide berth. “

You make sure to roll the R’s hard during the pronunciation of her name. She remains unamused.

“Is that a threat, Iwo-kun?”

Her probing for more information about your personal interests goes without much progress as you get a kick out of the back and forth banter between the two of you. She finally relents and dismisses you after you annoy the shit out of her, and stops wasting your time. It’s hard to get over how easy she is on the eyes, considering she’s such an uptight, angry-looking bitch. That’s too bad. The angry hate-sex between the two of you would be a rapturous event, you think to yourself as you let your let your mind wander trying to form a first impression. You reject the idea immediately, remembering that you are pissed, cursing your hormones for putting such a strange idea in your head.

Doesn’t she know who the fuck you are? That bitch had the nerve to talk down to you like that with that frosty glare. She doesn’t even realize what kind of beast she’s prodding right now. Had You not been on good behavior today. The little club room they call an office would have been utterly imploded with them still in it by your own hands if you hadn’t made plans with someone much more important. Tomorrow, the Discipline Committee is getting a piece of your mind, and anyone who disagrees is gonna catch your goddamned knuckles with their pompous fucking face.

Letting out a big sigh you remember your promise to attend. That other stuff is not important right now. You grab your shit, picking up speed as you dash through the gates of Rokujo High, you run your ass to make your designated meeting place, Johnny probably expects you’re going to be late, since it’s you after all.

You are somewhat surprised at the event unfolding as you approach the designated meeting place. You see your friend waiting for you across the street of a busy intersection, but they have some company. There’s a bunch of thuggish High School degenerates surounding your little brother. They don’t have the same uniform as you, they’re from another school. Judging by the slovenly way they wear it, they’re like you, a delinquent. What the fuck are they doing on your turf?

The smug looking blonde asshole of the group opens his mouth

“Tell us, please, who are you waiting for?”

He puts his hands on your brother.

“Where is he? I’m expecting him here by now, don’t tell me he left you all alone, perhaps you could play with us while we wait for him?”

The group of clowns have cornered your brother, pushing and shoving and being a huge fucking nuisance. Seething with rage, you can only watch as the 2-way traffic whips the wind around your vicious frown. Although you are ready to commit murder in broad daylight, you aren’t angry enough to throw your life away just yet.

“I’LL KILL YOU!!!” You shout across the street.

All of them are surprised, except for your brother, who manages to pull away from the young-man’s grip and losing his balance

It’s not long before your sprinting across the busy street, dodging traffic.

You see Johnny started stumbling into the street and, coincidentally, a large tractor tailer just ran a red light and is gassing his formidable vehicle with very little regard for anything in front of him in the corner of your eye. >[Code: Honest Man] "My name is Iwo Billy, I've been injured and I'm not sure how I got here, but I need medical attention. You're protectors of the people right? Do your damn jobs."

The guards look at each other, then back to you. They can feel the earnest words weighing in on your conscience.

The second guard to address you speaks up.

"Come with me, son I'll take you to the guild hall, it's the closest place to find healing.

"I have to return to my duty there is a front desk on the right side of the first room."

"Thanks" you respond.

"Baka Yarou." you mutter underneath your breath, he didn't need to make you wait like that.

Walking in your greeted to a bustling tavern, not much different from a lunchroom common area.

As soon as the door closes, all bustling ceases all eyes turn to you, some of them afraid, others contemptuous. It must be your alien nature to them.

Their attention really bothers you.

You are absolutely not taking these disrespectful stares, not from a bunch of oddly dressed weirdos straight out of a shitty anime cartoon. Straightening yourself out and puffing up your chest, you get ready to show them all who's the boss.

>"What the FUCK are ya'll looking at."

The guildhall rings with your voice, and the cosplayer freaks that were once staring at you are now minding their own business, murmuring. Pretty good, but you know you could do better if this was Rokujo High.

Their fear and concern of you is palpable, but at least it's quiet now. Feeling a little lightheaded you make your way over to the front desk.

There's a cute young lady there, but it looks like your intimidation shook her up as well, you can see the fear in her wide eyed stare. She shrinks back a bit as you approach.

You wonder if it would be more sufficient to keep pushing with fear while she's in this state, talking her down likely won't be easy now that she's on tilt.

>Intimidate: See this? show me where I can get fixed up before I get really pissed off.

"Y-y-you can even m-more ma-?"

>"Just tell me where I can get some help already." You cut her off mid sentence. cursing in your native language afterwords.

She points to another room, still shaking.

"There's a p-priestess in there, s-she can help you. N-no charge sir" The clerk woman manages to get it out.

you turn and spit on the ground, your blood is getting all over, including in your mouth now. Wasting no time you make your way to get healed.

You end up finally getting the medical treatment you need, the priestess treating you says some random bullshit and you are healed fairly easily in the empty white room of healing pointed out to you.

Putting two and two together now that you aren't in constant pain, you seem to be some kind of fantasy world. Sounds like a shitty comic premise to you. Fuck, you need to get back home, your little bro needs you. it doesn't seem like you'll be waking up any time soon, so you elect to play along for now. If this is some kind of adventurer's guild, perhaps that clerk woman can further be of assistance.

Leaving the room, you walk back to talk to her again, and you see her sobbing into her hands, and there's some kid in armor blocking your path. He's probably a year younger than you. One of the punks you yelled at when you walked in

"What is your problem? There was no reason to make her cry."

He's not gonna let you off easy, or so he thinks.

Your words clearly get to him. He might be some kind of warrior, but he's still a young boy. Bruising the ego is easy for you, armor or otherwise. The boy gets flustered face getting red.

"G-girlfriend? She is not my girlfriend! He protests.

Too late. You take the opportunity to walk right past him after embarrassing this fool. In spite of his stupidity getting in your way, you realize the truth in his words, being an honest man and all.

You approach the clerk's desk. The female occupant reacts to your advance, putting her arms up as if to shield herself.

It might be time to dust of the ancient skill of your people.

There is a silence between the two of you, at first broken only the sniffles of the guild girl, hands over her face. She stares at you for a long time, you can see her face getting a little reddish, and not from crying. She notices that you've noticed this and turns around embarrassed. She seems to be fanning herself from what you can see from behind.

"When did it get so hot in here?" You here her whisper.

You turn to Virgin-kun for a moment and give him the dirtiest, shit eating grin you can muster as he simply looks on in amazement at your smooth moves.

It takes her another minute before regaining her composure. She face you, like a completely different person, blushing with a happy smile.

I accept your apology, sir, I didn't realize you had a nice face underneath all that blood earlier. How may I be of assistance?

You ask a few questions

>I have no idea where I am, what's going on or how I got here, I think maybe I've got amnesia. Can you tell me anything about where we are?

"This is the great city of Prontia! To be adventurers come from all over to start their trade here. This guild hall also is a great tourist attraction."

>What about a place to stay, can I find that here too.

"Certainly, I mean it will cost you Gilt, but well...I can give you a room for one night until you get yourself some money. I can give you a job right now, you can use it to take responsibility for earlier." Her eye contact hovers a bit, and she plays with her hair as she says this.

You really are in a game, this feels like that bullshit your little bro was talking about.

>"What kinda work do you have for me?"

She pulls out a picture of a strange insect looking creature. It sort of stands up, and looks like some kinda weird cross of spider a cockroach.

"There's been an urgent call to exterminate these pests, their called the Kuukarache, there seems to have been a breakout south of here. This is fairly easy way to get money, I recommend working in a group though, these creatures can be dangerous in numbers. Here take this sack and fill it with pairs of antennae as proof for every kill you made"

"Sounds fine to me." you answer.

"When can I get started?"

The Guild Girl studies you for a moment.

"It might be helpful if you take up a class before you head out."

You take the sack from her and stash it in your uniform.

"W-wow, I've never seen someone go out to fight monsters without taking a class before. So cool." She gushes as you reject the offer.

The words class and school is an anathema to you, it's time to get lost.

Not forgetting your manners, you reach out your hand

"My name is Iwo Billy, you can call me Billy if you like."

She shakes your hand, blushing a bit

"I'm Henrietta. It was a pleasure meeting you!"

And with that you follow her directions. taking in the view of fantasy village life. Making your way to the other side of town, you enter a familiar green plains.

After making some way out, you notice a large forest, and leaking out of it and around the plains are groups of these gross brown monsters, just like Henrietta instructed. Some of them seem to be occupied by adventurers, like the ones you saw in the Guild Hall. they seem to have only minor trouble fighting these things.

Looks like it's time to show your fighting prowess.

You notice one of these shitty looking giant bugs wandering around a little bit. It's as big as an underclassman, and much uglier

How do you approach this?

DC 37 Rolled 77
The Kuukarache opens up it's rather large, rounded, pointed front legs and begins foaming at it's funky bug mouth with a gross white liquid, with nasty sucking sounds as it closes the gap. You take full advantage of such a reckless action by punching it right in it's ugly face with a respectable blow as you lunge forward.

"ORRRYAAAAHH!!!!"

With a kiai and a sickening crack, you fist drives right into the chitinous shelling around it's head, with much of the same consistency as smashing some poser's jaw in at High School. You find the result satisfying, although kind of gross as it's ichor bursts everywhere, good thing you took your uniform jacket off.

You wonder why these things are such a problem as you observe the stupid shitty bug bastard topple over, it's legs flailing uselessly, as it deals with a massive gaping crater in it's head. Paying close attention to it's large front legs, you catch one and attempt to pull rip it off.

The creature responds by squirting some sticky white shit on your shoes in a last ditch attempt to do something, angering you more than anything today.

"DON'T FUCK WITH ME!!!" You shout at it while stomping what was left of it's head in, and tearing it's leg off. You proceed to bash it some more with your newly acquired improvised weapon.

It doesn't move anymore, you take the opportunity to pocket it's antenna, which you also tear off. Feeling the weight of it's long, adequately thick arm, you take a couple of test swings. Not your first choice of weapon, but it's pretty damned hard, feeling close to an aluminum bat in consistency.

Lightly smacking the leg into your hand, you take a second to get that sticky white shit off your foot. It's like taking pretty strong duck tape off. It would be bad if they sprayed too much on you. Not that they'd be able to.

You eyeball the otherwise innocent-looking Kuukarache hovering around the grassy hills, growing in number near the forest.

Time to get to work.

Rolled 96, Rage unleashed!!!

You start your ugly job of exterminator of these man-sized insects with gusto. You take your new weapon and proceed to run up to the next of these ugly creatures. Before it can react properly to you, you've taken it's head off completely in one swing, your leg-club perfectly intact from the blow. Excellent. On to the next one.

...And the next...
...And the next...
...And the next...

Such a cathartic act of smashing an verminous creature to death without a single care or need for restraint takes you back, reminiscing more about the fights at school which were simply self satisfaction rather than a need to prove yourself. You start having mixed feeling remembering the times where school has really pissed you off, your inability to support your family as the head of the household and your own school life annoys you. What a shitty hand you were dealt

Before you know it, the sack you were given is filled to capacity with antenna, and there's many Kuukarache bodies strewn about, garnering some attention from other adventurers nearby. Looks like your done here.

Your about to leave when you here a high pitched scream from the nearby fantasy cosplay-freaks out here as they dash past you, dropping everything to get away. Looking over your shoulder, there's a horde-like formation of the Kuukarache, some of them a little bigger than the others. They rush towards you. Not ready to run like the other cowards you stand and fight.

"HEY, SCREW YOU!!!!"

You let your fighting spirit take over as you release your aggression into the mass of shitty bugs. They surround you. Good, now you can't miss. Cutting a swath through them with ease, having already warmed up they go down, but not after getting a bit battered an pierced by some of their large spear like legs and covered in sticky white shit. Ignoring the resistance you simply massacre them, unleashing your aggression, images of Kurosaki-san and that asshole across the street fuels your rampage as you clobber these freaks like a demonic force. Your vision goes completely red as you unleash the beast.

Slaying so many stacks the bodies high. You are fortunate to recover the containers other losers had left behind, multiplying your own gains. Today turned out not being so bad, though you are now covered in their bug-blood from head to toe.

Again your about to leave, unsure if you can carry more spoils, having increased them fourfold already. You notice one last group of the monsters left over, participating in some kind of circlejerk. You move up to them and proceed to slaughter them out of pure spite, rather than to your own benefit. Seven of them die in short order.

Breathing hard, you finally recognize a familiar sound as the battle rage ends. You look down, there's a girl here, a little younger than you perhaps, curled up in a little ball, crying.
>>
>>1885980
Like some kind of bug-splattered god of war, you stand over her, carrying way to many trophies of conquest. The cute little girl stops crying, realizing her assailants have been murdered, Looking at you, tears still her eyes she chokes out the word through her sobs.

"W-Who are you?"

Welcome back to the second session of Delinquent Isekai Quest

Before we begin, real talk anons. As you are aware, one of the main mechanic of this quest is Delinquent Traits, which affect dialogue and other actions through your behavior, and giving a bonus when appropriate. Being the QM my first priority is the enjoyment of everyone, especially through the autonomy of choice. After having tested my system in the first session, I noticed it has some flaws, which is normal for most things, and got my noggin-a-joggin about improving future ideas. However, I feel like the current system may cause some pigeon-holing of options, which I could potentially avoid by both clarifying some of the rules, and making some minor tweeks. Doing this would make the quest more enjoyable for everyone, in my opinion While it is within my power to change the system to my liking as the individual whom writes, but I feel like it is my obligation to consider the opinions participating anons in pursuit of being a fair and even-handed QM. With that in mind, I would like to ask are you okay with me changing the system slightly?

>tl;dr version: I feel like there might be an issue with my current game mechanics as they stand tha I feel should be addressed for everyone’s enjoyment and I want to make a few minor amendments and clarifications. Is this okay with you, anon?

Upon getting an obvious overwhelming majority, or at least 5 votes depending on response volume. I will institute the changes and post them accordingly. Changes will be effective next post. Regardless of the result, I will make sure the options given are more apparent as well.

Please give me a simple yay or nay answer. Sorry if I cause a fuss.

>"My name is Billy the Bat, the baddest man in Prontia, here hold my bag for a second"

Having stopped crying fairly quickly, the girl looks you in the face. She studies you with a somewhat blank expression, having overcome her sadness. She sports a large pair of eyes that express...nothing in particular. As your own acuity returns as your adrenaline ceases to pump through your veins, you realize this girl is... immobilized in that disgusting sticky white shit the Kuukarache spit out. Fuck.

You throw your bags down a little frustrated, you realize your own exhaustion as you use your now free hand to crack your neck. Damn, those shitty bugs weren’t particularly strong, but slaughtering them en-mass was quite a workout. At least you feel a little better after letting loose a bit.

Getting over her own silence, The younger girl speaks, the content of her question undoing the state of catharsis brought on by wanton destruction. She has a calm, even way of speaking, with a surprisingly husky, rich voice for her youth as she speaks inquisitively. Her manner of speech has a slightly foreign quality compared to the people you met in Prontia. It sounds like she’s talking with a big lump of peanut butter stuck on the roof of her mouth by comparison. Weird.

“Bierri sa Bato?”

”...Eh?”

That certainly got your attention, the girl having pronounced your name in such a strange way - EXACTLY the way you said it, making sure to chew on every syllable. You personally find it vexing for some reason. Noticing your visible confusion, the girl speaks again.

“Bierri sa Bato. Quite an unusual name, no?”

Actually, you find it very vexing. It makes your blood start pumping again when someone gets your name wrong. You hate that.

This kid is already getting on your nerves, but she obviously needs some help. Your in a pretty good mood right now, so getting this sticky white shit off of her is something you don’t mind doing. It’s especially humiliating for a little girl like this to be covered in something nasty looking like this.

“Yosh.”

You grunt as you crouch and get to work. Sidling up to the cocoon-girl, you start to unravel the webbing. As you do so your eyes meet.

>“ It’s pronounced Billy. The. Bat, By the way”

“Yes Mister. Bierri sa Bato. Just the way you say it.”

She seems somewhat confident she said it right, but it doesn’t help you calm down in the slightest. This fucking kid...

>DC 75. Rolled 66: Hmmm?

There is a profound quiet as you tear the white bindings off of the little girl. The layered sticky shit is gross, but it helps you give into your base emotions, which are to scream into this little girl’s face, even if her disrespect was unintentional. It makes your Fighting spirit burn impotently in your chest. The girl breaks the silence first in her flat voice, just a tiny bit starstruck.

“It’s nice to meet you, Mr. Bato. My name is Charlotte Marchette du LaFra, a novice adventurer. Thank you for saving my life, I’m in your debt sir. How can I ever repay you?”

By not trying to say my name anymore, you think to yourself. Your brain is spinning cogs to figure out a way to get her to say your name properly. Perhaps if you had some kind of writing implements? Realizing you didn’t respond, the little girl keeps talking, trying to get you to talk by changing the subject.

“Where are you from, Mr. Bato? I’ve never heard an accent quite like yours before, you sound really cool, I like the way you roll your Rs.”

Hmmm?? You notice something interesting before you can think of something witty. After pulling off almost all of the silky bullshit, you notice that Charlotte’s leg is busted up and bleeding, the red stains around the white shit. You leave it on, using the little first aid knowledge you have to keep the wound covered Charlotte notices this and puts a sorrowful look back on her face.

“My leg got hurt pretty bad...”

That's 5 votes.

>Shouldn't you state the changes first before you make the vote?
I was hasty in trying to start the quest that I didn't do this. In the spirit of this anon's statement, you may change your vote if the changes are that non-satisfactory

Here are the changes:

>Delinquent Traits 1.0.1
>Theses are the character traits that make you who you are, and with them comes both benefits and drawbacks that are befitting of your brash, troublemaking personality.

>1. Your traits are kept track of through points, a Trait Score, which will rise and fall as you chose your options. Such traits unlock special dialogue prompts that are unique to you. Often times it is a high-risk, high reward option that requires a roll for success and other times a bonus just for mantaining it. The modified prompts is not necessarily beneficial or harmful, simply the embodiment of a trait.
>2. Successful rolls will give great benefits in the story, while failures might complicate things. Regardless of success or failure, choosing the modified prompt will cause a gain in points dependent on the situation (+3 or greater), while choosing not to use the prompt given will result in a loss of points (-2).
>3. You may use your points to modify your “Write in” responses with your traits, which will give bonuses to the results if the response is appropriate to those traits, at the cost of (-2) points.
>4. You may modifiy a response with more than one trait if appropriate for increased chances, and I encourage “Write in” responses, awarding particularly good responses by potentially refunding points spent. You lose this ability for a particular trait if you have a Trait Score of 2 or less.
>5. Higher Trait Scores increase the likelyhood of modified prompts appearing. Lower scores do the opposite. The relative difference in numbers has some affect towards which type of modified prompt is given.
>6. Spend your points carefully, and try to find a balance, for once a trait score hits 0, your ability to take advantage of that trait is gone forever, having “gone soft.” I will make sure you are aware of the Trait Score values at all times as well as clarify any questions and feedback if necessary.

>"Oi brat, how did you mess up so bad to get hurt by these little shits? Aren't you an adventurer."

She simply looks down, contemplating something you know nothing about, disheartened.

Hmph, must be pretty serious if the bants didn't rouse her a even a little. Whatever, you can't let a little girl die to a bunch of giant cockroach-spider monsters.

Your gonna need both arms for this one. You drop your Kuukarache leg, having beaten it into uselessness. It lasted a good while, but you can probably by a real weapon now with your earnings. If your really desperate for another one, you can get it later, these corpses aren't going anywhere, considering the number of them.

You get ready to pick Charlotte up and carry her. After helping her out of the sticky white shit and propping her up, you get a better look at the girl. You figured she was maybe a year younger than you, but now your not so sure. Her eyes are quite big and hazel colored, framed by equally long, brownish, straight-banged hair, with a button nose and pouty little mouth underneath. The best way to describe her build would be...stubby She’s a small girl and wouldn’t make it to your shoulders standing straight up. Her plump, childlike bottom-heaviness and round little tummy suggests she is more suited to eating sweets at dessert rather than adventuring. Charlotte must do plenty of walking judging by the size of her thighs. She wears a little ensamble that looks most suited to trekking, and she wear a childish beanie-like hat with long tassels on the sides and little ears.

You grunt. Some friggin' adventurer you are. Picking her up and cradling her in one arm takes some effort. She's kinda heavy, you have a lot of shit, and your quite tired, but you manage. You aren't the Strongest Student of Rokujo District for nothing, and you feel a surge of strange, newfound strength after clobbering so many bugs. Hauling everything and heading back from whence you came is cumbersome, but you manage it beautifully.

>"What happened?"

While you move, the girl begins talking to you in a mellow voice.

“I had traveled to Prontia to pursue my development as an adventurer. I was able to make some friends at the Guild Hall and we took up the job to help control the Kuukarache population. We had thought it’d be a good start as battle experience, and the reward was a pretty good amount of Gilt. It was going smoothly when there was only a few them at a time, but the rest of my party wanted to get closer to the forest...I had tried to warn them not to go to far out, but they didn’t listen. We were overrun by the Kuukarache when they all of a sudden poured out of the forest. They must have tied up my party members in their silk and taken them away into their nest. W-we have to go back in and save them!”

“Shut up.”

She is surprised by your lack of empathy. You take the time to explain to her what’s good.

"Your friends could be dead for all I know. Did you think I would leave you to die alone out here?

Once again, she’s crying

“All I wanted was to become a great adventurer, to become brave. For my own sake.”

The girl speaks through her sobbing again

“I...I just want to be strong...like you. Please let me come adventure with you so I can change, Mr. Bato!”

Still a little irritated she butchers your name when she can speak near perfect english, you seriously consider the idea of letting this girl tag along with you. One the one hand, it’s not really your style to take underlings, preferring to work alone. On the other hand however, you have no idea what the fuck your doing in this strange new world, having someone more familiar to make sense of things might make getting through this nightmare a little easier.

“I’m not looking for any underlings or friends. I am sufficient”

You make sure to drive the last part home...

“Please Mr. Bato!!!”

You sigh as snot starts running out of her nose now. Gross.

If you did decide to take anyone under your wing, they need to be able to seriously pull some weight, other than the common local knowledge you lack at the moment of course. What exactly are you looking for anyways? You roll your eyes upward, giving this some thought.

Going to be honest, not really sure I like this system. Just joined, and the original system I also had issue with. Im pretty sure most anons dont like the idea of losing anything, and something as intrinsic as what makes us a delinquent having the possibilty of being gone... Don't think it's the best. Feels like your treating it as a modifier rather than what makes the character the character. Not going to tell you how to set up or run your quest though, just thought I'd put this out there.

"I-I'm not much of a fighter, but I'm really good with money, I can get you the best deals and gear. I can also appraise almost anything, and I can carry your stuff. Please, take me with you"

After thinking her offer over carefully, you answer her plight. It is not what she want to hear, but you can tell she can feel the solemness in your voice as you prioritize her safety.

>[Manly] "Did I stutter? I don't need anyone's help! Now let's get you back to the city."

The little girl ends up crying herself to sleep in your arms.

You walk back into the Guild Hall, everybody is completely engrossed in chatter. You only get a few stares as you walk in to the place this time. They look away as soon as they notice you can fucking see them. There's a small line going into the priestess' infirmary. You head in that direction before you're stopped by a familiar face.

"Oh my gosh, are you alright? Your totally messed up. What about her? Did you save her from the swarm?."

It's Henrietta the guild lady. She looks concerned with how scuffed up you are, and asking you many questions. You respond by putting your bags full of disembodied bug trophies on the counter and take Charlotte to the back to be healed. You answer her very simply.

"I need you to count these."

Grasping the situation, Henrietta complies. looks like you might be here for a little while. She gives you a look of disbelief, quite stunned by the shear amount you've produced, and killed.

I really appreciate your input. I sincerely respect your opinion and take it to heart as someone who wants to improve in all aspects. To the best of my abilities, I have this system try to depict a certain way in which a person deals with strong personality traits and let anons decide the fate of the character. It's a but of a double edged sword, but I guess it could work. Earlier, I mentions trying to get us to calm down and try to get her to say our name in a clever way, but neglected to say how. I suppose if I described something to the effect of how to teach her, either we'd get points back or get a lowered DC? Or would it still be high risk/high reward, since that's how you described it?

It feels slightly weird that doing things in character would cause us to lose said aspect... But there's the possibility to regain the points... hmm...
>>
>>1889884
I think the concept is that if you don't use it, you lose it. I share the other anon's concern that certain options will only get taken because they'll lose points for not taking it otherwise, though.

>>1889961
I suppose you could make every choicchoice correspond to a trait and leave the write in for extra, but that kind of feels like it's undermining the system...

Maybe it's best to leave it for now and tweak it or change it wntriely once a thread or three has passed to see how it's being used. Too early right now anyway.

>[Fightin' Spirit] There's no time to waste, your heading out to that forest.

Thinking back at how those retarded monsters are waiting in the forest to get clobbered fills you with tremendous impatience.

"Henrietta, hold onto my shit, I'm going to be back soon."

"I'll do it. For you"

You dash out without no intent but destruction, no plan but violence in your mind.

Flying out the gates you are filled with bad intentions as you fly by all the corpses you made earlier. You barely register the sun has set, and that the forest will probably be even darker.

Without stopping you grab another club-like front leg from a dead Kuukarache so that you can better destroy your enemy. This incredible rush of adrenaline fills you with might you never knew you had until you embraced it as you reach the edge of the forest. It feels good.

Going right through the center of the wooded area, you make your way in still charging. A familiar skittering fills your ears as your legs slow down. Your dash in has descended you into some kind of gorge like opening. The Kuukarache mus have dug it up.

You can see them, the Kuukarache surround you and skitter towards you, creating a circle as they clamber over all the fallen trees. A dull thump fills your ears as you hear something heavy land to the side of you. Turning your head, you face the enemy.

It's a Kuukarache, definitely. But this one is bigger than the other. A lot bigger. The monstrous insect stands easily more than a head taller. And it has a big pair of claws on it too. You grin as you try to turn to satisfy you blood lust on the new adversary, but do not move.

In your adrenaline addled state, you seem to have ignored the knee deep pool of sticky white shit you wadded into.

"MASAKA!?!"

You're familiar with this set up, with the smaller, weaker beasts surrounding in a loose circle while the more powerful opponents square up to each other, just like school. Now you've ran right into their trap, and doing anything is going to be rather difficult while your stuck knee-high in the shit.

Now what, genius?

>Force your way out somehow, you need a more advantageous position

If we had big guy trait, I would have suggested picking up one of those fallen logs and using that as a makeshift bludgeon/Wright to get us out. Doubt itd it's work with our current setup, though.

You aren't about to be held back by sticky white shit while a giant shitty bug assails you.

With a battlecry, you manage to heave yourself through the white swamp and close your distance unto solid ground, only slightly in the sticky floor. The big soldier-looking insect has started dashing at you, much swifter on it's own turf than you by a large margin.

As you recover from pushing your body to the limit to get out, one of the Kuukarache breaks formation to attack you. Stupid creature, time to die.

BAKA YAROU!!!!!

You scream again as you pound the creature's head in and dash past it. It loses it's balance from the impact over it's exposed head, cracking it's shell fairly easily, and falling down the slope into the sticky white shit pool. Now free of being encircled you dash out to solid ground, your shoes and pants saturated in that awful goop. Whatever. Gotta stay focused.

DC 70 Rolled 83
>Block one of its blows and use the force to tear us free.

You feel a skittering, and turn around in the nick of time to see the larger beast charging at you, already prepared you take a defensive stance to foil it's attack.

With a loud crack you manage to block one of it's large, meaty claws, and creating an opening. Taking the opportunity, you counter it with a blow from underneath, staggering it back a step.

This guy is much tougher and better armored than the others.

It comes back strong, attempting to hit you back, but you are still ready for it.

Blocking it's next blow, which has even more weight behind it, you get pushed back, but not off balance. You assume and offensive position, back against a tree, just as the other smaller creatures join the assault with the larger one. Too bad for them they can't attack from behind. Just as planned.

Now what?

>Get to the nitty gritty, take them all at once
>Try to get up this tree real fast while you have breathing room, see how well they can climb and cut off their options.
>Write in.

DC 50
>Get to the nitty gritty, take them all at once

As your enemies circle around you, you get that rosy feeling you get when your about to take on a lot of dude. You yell at the top of your lungs as the feeling wells up and escapes from your chest. They think they can hurt you. You beckon them to try it.

KAKATTE KOI YO!!!!!

They all rush at you, claws and forelegs at the ready. You unleash aggression as well. The sub-man sized Kuukarache go down in one hit most of the time, but it's hard to focus on them as the big one comes in. Fortunately you took away the biggest advantage, attacking from behind. The battle is hard fought. It's difficult to maintain focus on so many foes, they just keep coming.

ORYYAAAH!!!!!!

You roll your Rs as you brain a smaller one with your club, crushing it's head. You look at your weapon. It's been warped again. Probably from beating on the larger one.

It's still alive, perhaps you'd be able to kill it by now, but it has proved also to be smarter than it's brethren in addition to physically stronger and faster and it uses the weaker creatures to it's advantage, using thier attacks to cover it's own defenses. Your only a little tired from swinging and have only suffered minor wounds. You can definitely continue, but you don't know if you can win this war of attrition if they keep coming like this.

As you plan on what you need to do, two big Kuukarache, almost identical to the other one appears. Fuck. As much as you'd love to stand and fight, there is not shortage of foes

You have mixed feelings about these odds. You contemplate the next move

>[Manly] I have to kill one of the big bugs. Now...Even if I have to take some damage to get through it's defenses...
>Try to get up this tree real fast while you have breathing room, see how well they can climb and cut off their options.
>Slip them and search for a better environment to kill them in, preferably a narrow entryway they'd have to file through

DC 80. Rolled Manly victory, but at a cost
> [Manly] I have to kill one of the big bugs. Now...Even if I have to take some damage to get through it's defenses...

You deign that the only way to get the upperhand is to let guard down and set the bait for this annoying foe. You proceed to leave yourself open, to the larger opponent focusing on the normal Kuukarache.

It takes the bait, and proceeds to clamp down hard on your upper left arm with it's huge pincers.

It honestly hurt a lot less than you thought it would as it begins putting tremendous stress onto your arm.

AAAAUUUUGH!!!!!!!!

Still roaring in pain as the vice bruises your bones and bites into your flesh, you reel back. Your gambit was successful, if bold in excess.

SATTENDO KORE!!!!!!!

You scream "Screw you" in it's face with you as you grab it's clawed arm around with your other arm, preventing it's escape. Lurching forward with increasing velocity, you headbutt the thing it it's now close and exposed head. You almost feel as if it tried to let goe as your forehead slams into it's own, rocking both of you. It stumbles back, but you aren't finished yet.

ORRYYAAAH!!!!!

You club the thing in the side, folding it over from the force. Your improvised weapon shatters from the impact. Still holding narrow end with the point, you finish the creature off by jamming the sharp end though it's compound eye, right through it's gross skull as ichor oozes out. It slumps over, but not before tearing it's arm off. The one that hurt you.

SHIIIIII'NEEEEEE!!!!!!

You get the claw off, but fuck did that hurt...
Your arm, it's a little numb and you can feel it starting to swell already, but you can still move it around. Good enough.

A little blood drips into your mouth again, only a little bit this time as blood comes from your head. That was very risky, but you did feel pretty good about killing that asshole.

There are still two more, but they are farther away and coming in hot. You use the gap left by the first large monster to batter away the smaller ones with it's big claw, which has become somewhat of a mace by comparison t the clubbing foreleg you had. You step forward.

KAKATTE KOIIII YOOOO!!!!!

You scream at them to come on again spittle flying out your mouth. The two large ones oblige, the others that are still alive...back away a bit, instinct seeming to taking over. You feel your vision teetering, just a bit

As you stand defiantly against your enemy, a strange memory that crosses your mind. about what makes you strong. You think back to your country of origin. You remember there is an old idiom in your country.

"Oni ni Kanabo"

Translated, the expression roughly means

"Giving an Oni a Kanabo."

It essentially meant to "(not) give the strong more strength." You've taken this expression to heart. What "makes the strong more strong". To figure out what makes you "more strong" is that which made everyone at school respect and fear you. Those who did not were simply ignorant of it.

You never needed a bat or physical strength make you "more strong." You don't need muscles to be "more strong". You don't need experience or technique. You didn't even need anything physical. They were not what made you strong.

You just needed a reason to fight. A reason to live. You've lived by this philosophy all your life. It has given you all the strength you've needed in the world. That was your Kanabo.

And right now, more than ever, you wish you could return home to see your little brother again. You're worried about him. That is your reason.

And you can't die here.

NAAAAMEEEN NAAA YOOOOO!!!!!!!!!

Your suicidal charge begins, undeterred by the additional figures that creep unto the battlefield to stop you from your goal. They don't bother you. Your kanabo makes you stronger. They will die when you swing it.

I'm stirred from my slumber, waking up. Unsure why, I turn to look around. Nothing has disturbed me. There are no others in the hospital room but me, the room is empty except for me sitting at the bedside in this sterile, white room.I gaze upon my brother.

It is sad to see him this way, a mess of a human being. bloodied, beaten, only a few steps away from death. This miserable heap save my life hours ago. Even as he lay here dying, he is more a man than I will ever know, and probably hope to be. The doctors said that it was miraculous that my older brother is still alive. Stabilized, still breathing. He's always been like that. He never stops fighting. I'll probably never know what he fights for, what drives him to go to such lengths. Even after dad died. He stayed strong. For us. I might not understand what he's fighting for now, but whatever the conflict is.

He will win it.

All of a sudden, the EKG machine linked to my brother increases to rapid pace. I panic.

DOCTOR!!!!

Screaming like a berserker, you plunge the ripped off claw directly into the monsters stomach, impaling it. As it tries to retaliate ineffectually, you shout again twisting it so that it is perfectly vertical and then yank it up, bisecting the massive lowly bug creature. It dies. Leaving the spent weapon, you jump onto the next opponent putting your fist through it's head. The bad fist. It dies.

More and more bodies pile up. The larger, more powerful members of the species still proved to be weaker than you, despite being such a threat. Ripping organs out of the chest of your foe, you look around to see that there's nothing left but giant insect corpses everywhere. Everything that was attacking you has now been killed. It's over. You've won. You spit the blood from your mouth and let out one more battlecry.

"WHO ELSE WANTS SOME!!!!"

Collapsing to your knees, you are tired, yet the thrill of victory burns in your heart.

Panting hard, you try to recollect your sanity from the acts of bloodlust an carnage you just committed. Your body hurts terribly, and yet you still feel strength flowing through your body. It feels like you are close to the breaking point. You let yourself relax for a bit.

You take in the dusky forest air into your lungs. Shit hurts.

...

You hear a rustling and immediately get a foot on the ground. You curse under your breath.

It's a normal sized Kuukarache, you coil yourself, ready to strike, until it veers in a different direction. It seems to be running away from something rather than towards you. All of a sudden, it bursts into flames.

You look to see the source of the flames. It's the little girl you met before, Charlotte. she has a torch of some kind in hand. She's wearing a pretty big bag on her back

"I finally found you. Mr. Bato."

Jesus Christ, what is she doing here?

You feel a terrible pain in your left upper arm, it hurts pretty fucking bad now that the rage has subsided. Eyeing her big bag, you wonder if she has anything that might fix your arm up a bit. You let out a deep sigh.

>"...You got something in there for my arm?" You really don't want to almost bleed out again

"Oh?" she walks over. The way she walks is...the opposite of threatening. She takes a look at your arm. It has sustained additional damage after your reckless acts of machismo. Blood and pus oozes from it. Definitely broken

"This is worse then my leg was, I think...This should be able to fix it."

She whips out a jar that looks like it's filled with a gelatin. After carefully removing your shirt sleeve from where the injury is, she pores the contents on your arm. It comes out like curdled milk. Fucking disgusting.

It burns like a bitch when it hits your arm. She rubs it in. It feels even worse, until it doesn't. You look again. All the lacerations have been healed. the pain has been numbed to a degree, but you can still tell you have a broken arm. You're able to move it around.

"Thanks. How did you find me anyways?"

She examines the jar, seemingly surprised she used all of it. Putting it away gingerly back into her backpack, she answers your question.

Well...You were yelling super loud, people near the gate could hear you apparently. The lady at the desk told me you ran out after you delivered the bounty to her. I knew I just had to follow you. I felt more brave than ever, to make sure you came back to Prontia okay."

There's a look of determination burning in her eyes. You respect her coming out here alone, despite how stupid that concept is.

Taking a minute to rest, Charlotte has dressed your arm as well as given you some water and other necessities after a massacre like that. She's currently savaging all the corpses you made. A regular looter.

You see the birds fly up and away from the forest in unison. You successfully stand up after your moment's respite.

>Rip off a leg from one of the big ones. That's our new Kanabo.

You need a new weapon. Looking for the biggest Kuukarache, you end up tearing it's claw off, the pain flaring in your smashed up arm. It's hinged, so it does't make the best bludgeoning weapon. Charlotte notices and chirps at you.

"I can help"

The little girl hefts the huge arm, and you watch as she takes it back to her bag, surprised she can heft it so easily in spite of the weight. She does something to it, you can't tell. Whatever that was, the claw and the arm it's attached to are very straight now. That's much better. You notice how dark it happens to be out, the farther you look, the darker it seems to get in this place. Good thing you have a torch available.

>"Lets get going. Weren't there some losers to save or something?"

"Yeah, those guy all owe me money for their gear."

What? That doesn't fit what a cute little girl would say at all. Was one of the reasons she was crying about losing her friends was because they couldn't pay her back? You don't want to think about it.

You begin your trek through the forest. It doesn't take long before you reach an area with massive, dead trees. On the trees you notice many cocoon like pods You take a look inside one, removing a little of the wrapping.

"Euuuaaah. FUCK"

You are appalled when you find a desiccated corpse, and even worse, large maggots crawl out of the opening. Grabbing Charlottes torch, you burn the shit out of it. You enjoy watching that shit light up.

You elect not to tell Charlotte what you just saw quite yet, as she was paying attention to the ground, trying not to step in sticky white shit.. Giving Charlotte her torch back, you feel a minor disturbance.

"Something is coming, and it's fast."

You turn to face where you came a low, staccato rumbling approaches. You see the creature come forth. The upper half of it is a sickly human, and the rest of it is a...thing. A horrible sight to behold, the monster constantly emits a hissing sound. It's many legs come forth into the moonlight. You can tell it isn't here to make peace. Charlotte puts you between her and the monster.

"Was it you who asked if about wanting someone else if they want some?"

The creatures voice is feminine, but sickly sounding. Even this thing speaks with less of an accent than you. That kinda pisses you off.

You cock your head back and answer as rudely as you'd answer anyone.

"Yeah, who wants to know?"

It smiles evilly. It's teeth are way to long, it's other feature are to obscured to identify it's intent completely. It looks at Charlotte, hissing at the torch she clutches in her hands.

"The meat dares bring light to my lair??"

You are able to rekindle your inner flame very easily. You already find yourself shouting in your native tongue.

Omae no wa!

You push Charlotte farther behind you, and step closer to the new challenger. Your claw hammer is at the ready.

ORE DA!!!

Charlotte's torch floods this dark canopy with light as you size up your opponent. It's lower half is large and spider-like, with long twisted legs. Though it is dark you can see two large mandible like protrusions , as if the body arms itself with swords underneath the humanoid upper body. Said human half is gaunt and pale. It seems to be carrying a large, rusted sword, partially broken but most certainly still dangerously jagged. The light flickers around its form. You can tell from your own experience that this is a confident and strong opponent. Time to prove you are a threat.

Charlotte is somewhat behind you, she seems to be waiting for any kind of guidance as she carefully watches you, admiring your bravery as you stare down your foe. The creature has not made it's move yet.

It's time for you to make yours.

>Ask Charlotte for her torch

After having absorbed so much damage from the last fight, you definitely want to have the upper hand against this enemy. Turning to Charlotte you issue a command.

"The torch. Now"

She complies to you and nods reassuringly. Taking the torch in one hand and the claw-club in the other, you face your opponent, looking at where your enemies eyes should be, obscured by long, pale hair. Clearly this is some kind of leader of the bugs. Time to make it come to you.

"HEY, ASSHOLE. I KILLED ALL YOUR FRIENDS. IT WAS ALL ME!!!!!"

The creature snarls, immediately picking up speed and charging straight at you Good. Your plan is working

The massive many-legged creature barrels towards you with it's broken sword held high.

How do you counter?

>Use the torch on it to create a bigger opening, it clearly doesn't like fire.

Making sure to get the maximum effect on your foe, you hold the torch back and lead with your club, preparing to use your enemy's weakness as your strength. The monster continues it's charge, looking almost completely off balance as it clambers.

It roars as it charges you.

As it closes the gap, you position yourself, turning about and proceed to shove the torch towards it's face. It hesitates in it's assault as you lunge forward, torch in hand. That's all you need. You ready your club to punish your foe.

Rolled: 59 - A Solid Hit

Using the opening created by the torch, you slug the monster woman in the shoulder of her human half. It releases a grating shriek as you enjoy the satisfying smashing of flesh and bone. The creature's own momentum helped create even more damage. Such damaging hit will not go unanswered, the spider-beast attempts to retaliate. It pulls back with it's rusty weapon as it attacks.

Rolled 95 - Tremendous success
>Clash your weapon with it

"OOHRAAA!!!!"

You shout as you attempt to meet your opponent's blade with your own. It's time to fight this damned thing head on!

With a shattering blow, you break the rusted sword and crush the wielders hand, Eliciting a frustrated scream from your enemy as they crumple back. The vile creature attempts to cover itself by striking with it's over-sized mandibles. You are prepared. you take the arm of one of this creature's own allies and slam it's natural weapon down, causing it to be warped from the impact. The creature backs away, having eaten many too many attacks for it to stomach at the moment. It's hissing at you as it carefully contemplates it's next move. Your about to launch another attack when the creature is engulfed in a plume of fire from it's flank. You turn your head quickly to assess what is going on.

Charlotte has snuck up to the Kuukarache Queen and seems to be blowing the flames of another torch she had at it. The beast immediately backs away, trying to prevent itself from being further scorched. Must be some kinda magic. Charlotte calls you to you while the beast recuperates.

"Blow into your torch, It's magic!"

Noticing your little helper has turned her attention away, the crispy queen hacks out a glob of that goddamn sticky white shit. The glob hurtles at Charlotte, hitting her in the lower body, tumbling her over globing all over her left leg and the ground. She looks a little stuck now.

You could draw a triangle between the two of you in your standoff positions. Charlotte is reaching into her bag for something. You can't tell where the insect centaur is going to move next.

>Use the torch

You look at the monster, Charlotte, and the at the torch in your hand. Why the fuck not?

You blow into the torch towards your enemy. A huge fiery ball is projected just as your opponent moves. Great is it's coverage, the effect is immediate as the spider-beast catches alight. Unfortunately, the torch goes out. It seems that the original owner had used it enough to to expend the rest of it's magical power. Charlotte used the opportunity you created to start to cut her-self free of the sticky white shit.

While the beast burns, you run to the little girl to help her get the last of her bindings off and protect her from an enraged charge. This fight so far has been in your favor due to such an important advantage, and the opponent knows this too. As you pull the little girl up, the monster queen uses it's specialized body to start climbing the massive trees make the canopy.

The foe is making a break for it. There is a rustling in the forest, you can't tell what it is because it's too dark.

>Set the forest on fire

You can't let this thing get away!

Reacting as quickly as you can, you grab the torch Charlotte dropped, still alight, and proceed to blow flames up the tree, leading on your quarry. The fireball you throw manages to cause a large patch of fire in front of the fleeing monster. You end up blowing the fire out to reach such a length, but the area you burned is spectacular, catching immediately and creating a bright enough light. An assortment of Kuukarache have surrounded your location, they must have finally found you while present in the farther-away portions of the forest. Looking at the magical fire you set, it burns brightly, but as you observed when attacking your enemy, it dies out somewhat easily after lighting something up, despite the damage it is capable of inflicting. The second torch you just used goes out, spent from the distance it traveled.

At least the queen has been slowed down momentarily, you want to chase after it, but leaving Charlotte with this many Kuukarache seems like a death sentence since she isn't you. Charlotte hollers at you, afraid, but still with a fire in her eyes.

"Go on without me, I'll manage...somehow!!"

You look at her, and you look at the coward on the tree. You are not somebody who doesn't have their cake and not eat it too!

>Carry her on our back and give chase

Fire lights up in your eyes as you decide it's time to act. You are finishing what you started

"It's okay Mr. Bato, I'll ju-"

"IKU ZO!"

You cut her off and pick her up the plump little thing and up her on your shoulders. This is natural for you, having carried your little brother like this many times. She grabs onto your instinctively head to prevent herself from falling off.

"M-Mr. Bato..."

Your act of manliness has caused her to become flustered. While you are somewhat flattered, hearing that from a girl that looks like her feels a little criminal.

Ignoring your thoughts and focusing on the task at hand, you dash towards the tree the Kukarache Queen is ascending, the fire having started to die down. Fighting through the pain of your broken arm, you crawl up the wall with incredible speed up the Tree to give chase, club in mouth.

Seeing you crawling, the monster nervously moves around the dying flames to get away from you. Pursuing the fleeing foe, you end up jumping from tree to tree as their branches overlap. Though you manage to keep a decent pace, your foe is still ahead of you, if only a little bit.

"You can do it Mr. Bato."

You don't need the encouragement, but it helps. Pushing yourself past your limits, you run, climb and swing yourself over. You've done enough basic parkour during school hours to catch up to the queen, in spite of the mechanical disadvantage, you refuse to let her get away, pushing your body to the limit.

You jump onto the creature, grabbing it's female midsection tightly, binding it's arms. The force of your impact causes the beast to loose it's balance, shrieking and making a scene while high above the forest floor. Holding on is made hard as the creature tries to throw you off, kicking and screaming. It doesn't help that Charlotte is clinging to your back now, hanging on just barely. You quickly adjust yourself to choke out your foe, using your club to stop the creature from breathing. It seems to be working as the monster tries to remove you.

Roll to hold on and choke out.

DC 70: Rolled 92 - In your clutches

"I've got this Mister!"

The little girl on your back says before climbing over your face. This better be good, her climbing over you and putting her big boots on your face is fucking irritating. You tug hard on the neck of the Kuukarache Queen as you pull back, causing it's spine to arch and manipulating it's body to stop trying to shake you off. The little girl is now straddling your shoulders again. In a moment of clarity as you strangle this cowardly piece of shit with all your might, you notice Charlotte heft what was probably her main weapon, a quality-looking one handed bearded axe. She holds it over her head, obviously aiming for the spider lady's dome. Looking down at the drop, you realize you might all die if you fall after this beast takes an axe to the head and can't keep balance. You would rather all live than potentially all die if you fall off the precarious branch you've been situated on. As she's about to swing, you move, adjusting her swing as you do. She rolls her Rs as she let's the axe rip, imitating you. You don't know whether to be flattered or offended.

"OOHRAAA!!!!"

The world spins as you struggle to hang on. The giant bug woman shrieks in pain, tumbling as the axe buries itself into it's ribs somewhere. You all end up rolling on the branch you were standing on, and you use this to your advantage by getting the upper hand.

In a blur, Charlotte is prone on another branch nearby, and you have the massive beast in a bulldog headlock, it's massive body thrashing while you hold it's head in your arms, using it's own weight to crush it's neck as it struggles to take the terrible pressure off as you squeeze. It tries biting and thrashing with the bug parts, but you assert dominance over it's body in front of you with a herculean display of strength. Where it comes from, you are unsure, but you certainly can't complain.

The beast, finally caught, moans pitifully as it struggles to break out of your hold. Going back on you self preservation earlier, you really want to slay this thing as messily as possible for putting you on such a goose chase. Time to finish it off.

No, this coward isn't getting away from you. Rather, your going to crucify this unwelcome pest that has troubled you with goons since you got here.

You have the stupid thing in a guillotine headlock, it's biting you as it tries to break free. FUCK. THAT.

Pulling it's body by it's neck, you lift it's body up, muscles straining. The pain in your arm flares as the dressing put on it breaks off from the expansion of your bicep. The monster tries to scream, but is choked to hard to do anything but scrape the platform you stand on with it's many legs.

ORRYEAAAH!!!!

You hear snapping sounds, thinking you've killed it, and drop it on the branch.

It still moves, trying to right itself, neck wrung horribly with bruises. This thing is tough! No wonder it survived being burnt to a crisp.

KURAE!!!!!!

Undeterred, you drop your elbow onto the creature with your entire bodyweight, right on it's head, sending it back to the ground again. It can't seem to get up properly now, completely dazed, face having slammed the wooden ground hard enough to crack it. Damn, you need one more big hit. Your going to need some more leverage. Eyeballing the tree trunk not far from your position, The wild dangerous part of your brain tell you exactly what to do.

Charlotte looks on in awe as she see your alien technique. Running and leaping with strength you didn't know you had until coming to this world, you run towards the tree's surface and kick off of the side, getting at least ten feet of air as you soar towards your vulnerable enemy

TODOME DAAAAA!!!!!

You shout at the top of your lungs as you come crashing down. The thunderous impact you create floods the forest as you drop through your enemy, driving into them with your good elbow, in a severing blow. The force cleaves the weakened tree branch as you plummet to the earth, in a terrible crash, disregarding your own safety to hurt your enemy.

Tree branches break apart as you fall, beating you up far harder than the enemy your slaying did. You close your eyes as you approach the ground, prepared to accept the impact with your body.

There is a sensation of choking as you manage to come to, spitting some kind of liquid out of your mouth. you open your eyes and see Charlotte crouched over you. She smiles as she notices you come to. She says nothing and hugs your head. You attempt to peel her off but realize your arms have been tied up and immobilizes in hard bandages. You must have been unconscious for a while and she nursed you back with her gear.

"I'm so glad you alive, Mr. Bato, you were really reckless, I don't have anymore recovery items because of that."

You manage to stand up, feeling pretty fucked up, but somewhat revitalized as you stand in the debris.

Nothing is less manly then leaving a lonely girl to cry, say she can tag along as long as she doesn't slow us down!

> Manly (+1)

You are remain unswayed by the emotions of a little girl you just met, for you are a hard young man. It's the result of your incredible machismo. But at the same time, it goes against what a real man would do...Taking responsibility for a helpless young girl. Nothing is less manly then leaving a lonely girl to cry.

"Taking a soft young girl and putting your life in jeopardy would be irresponsible of me to have someone so weak follow me..."

The girl tries to talk through her tears. You turn your back to her and take a few steps.

"I.."

You cut her off as you let your passion burn in your heart.

"...Which is why I'll take you under my wing, so you can become strong like me and never be a crybaby ever again. Don't slow me down, okay?

You here a few plodding step patter against the ground as you forward lurch forward. A little girl has clung herself to your back. Still kinda heavy.

"Ah lub U. Mr. Bato"

You can here a little squish as her tears and snot hit you in the back as she tries to talk through both. It doesn't seem like she's going to let you go. You say nothing as you survey the scene. You can't find any remains of the Queen, having been splattered unrecognizable like the bug it was. You note the head is gone, you must have decapitated it when you unleashed your finishing attack. You wonder if you could carry anything with your arms like this.

You begin walking through the forest. You have some time to kill.

Realizing your defenseless, you set her down without waking her to make some kind of sling or something, ready to remove your bandages. Before you can do anything, you hear a twig snap in the distance. Dammit.

Standing up and turning, you are sort of relieved it's not another shitty bug. Instead, it's a fucking grizzly bear. It begins to roar menacingly. You aren't ready for this bullshit after such a long day. You swagger up to it without any fear and shout in it's face. Fuck this shit

SATENDO KORE!!!!!!

Jumping and slamming your forehead into it's skull before it can react, you can feel it cave in as you angrily headbutt the wild animal. It slumps over motionless. Well shit. You just headbutted a bear to death. This is a first for you.

"Oh?"

Your yelling woke up the little girl. You let out a sigh. She's already breaking it down. Looks like you're having bear meat tomorrow

Obtained:
Bear Meat
Bear Pelt

With the little girl hanging from your neck in a sling of her own design, she stares into your eyes slightly smugly as you end up hauling her chubby ass through the forest while she continues to embrace you. Cheeky.

"Mr. Bato, what's your class? It must be powerful."

You have a sinking feeling you made a huge misunderstanding a while ago

>What do you mean class?
>I don't
>Write in

I kind of want to make this a Delinquient Trait Write In, but I am torn between Manly and Honesty.

She is pudgy and childlike in looks, much to her dismay. I'll try hard to make a quality myself picture for the next thread, you could see for yourself.

>"Banchou."

"Banchou, what's that? I've never heard of that class before."

"I'm just a guy that punches things. Hard"

"Wow, so cool"

The girl takes a little card-looking thing out. It has a tiny gem in it. Hers is a white color.

"This is my Adventurer's ID. I'm still at the starting rank, but I think I'm going to rank up soon after we beat that monster."

What the fuck? This overly organized system is retarded.

You begin read some of her stats

"Rogu Typu Classu: TradoSmissu"

Charlotte watches intently with a little smile, clearly enjoying your accent. You can tell there's some magic fuckery about this ID thing.

>You now know Charlotte's stats.

Shit. This stuff seems complicated, you'll have to ask Henrietta about it at the Guild Hall

Looking ahead the sun is on the horizon as you manage to finally find the clearing to the forest. Thank god. As you look past the entrance, you see some torchlight and the gleam of armor, you have some company, it seems.

Approaching warily, you are greeted by several knight-types, with shiny armor and some of them mounted on horses. The one with the shiniest armor approaches and issues a command, the tinny echo form within their helmet makes your ears tingle

"Hold, sir. Identify yourself."

Fuck. Not this shit again.

Nice to see a banchou quest that isn't terrible. I am a mixture of confused and entertained that the 2 words of our name that are in English are being mispronounced.
>>
>>1897236
Aw, seems I was a tad late on that write-in. Ah well. See ya tomorrow OP. Thanks for running.

Shit, I'm falling asleep here, sorry boys. I dun goofed. I'll make up for not using the super cool line later. I promise.

>>1897105
Damn that's thicc. It's a decent approximation, I suppose, but the character I had in mind is more innocent and immature in design. That's rather on the lewd side

It's honestly the only thing I could find on google that wasn't a straight loli and wasn't naked.

This is a pretty good story so far, but there is just one problem that is to glaring for me to enjoy. Do you check your posts before posting them, because it looks like you change how you write out a sentence mid sentence without finishing the spellcheck. Not to mention the dozen typos per each post, be it missing context words entirely, or just redundancies.
>>
I think my small problem with this quest is the constant Japanese in between the English, it sometimes feels out of place. Maybe use it in less bursts and more for big moments?
>>
>>1899279
I find it charming. Why should we compromise our own language for these gaijin.

Thanks again to everyone who likes my story. I appreciate it greatly. I accept all criticism and suggestions as I do my best to give you all the best experience possible.

I'm glad this was brought up, as this anon is correct for the most part and I feel inclined to address this for those who end up reading this and share the same issue. I do my best to edit and check, but it would slow me down significantly and create an issue between the speed-to-editing balance to make it 100% error free, mostly due to my own inexperience with using this website-being rather new, and also being somewhat verbose. For those that feel the same way and have an issue about the quality of the quest saga, I will continue to improve as I get used to posting here since I honestly feel the same sentiment as well. There are no excuses for poor editing. It will simply take some more practice on my part. Thank you anon, sorry for my gratuitous spoiler abuse.
