Last time on Saiyan Conqueror Quest:
Karn and his team train on Planet Vegeta and in space until reaching the forward outpost of the Hive. After meeting some unexpected allies, Karn seperates from the group and assassinates several powerful Hive creatures. After regrouping at the crashed ancient ship, an old friend returns and the counterattack against the Hive begins. We rejoin the team as Karn steps once again through the tunnel's entrance, down into the Hive's tunnels.

"Karn, are we really doing this?" Tatsu asks you, concerned. "We're all injured, and you and Meloka are already transformed. We're out of trump cards down there."
"We're sticking to the plan." you tell the older Saiyan, your glow leading the way back down into the planet's depths. "We go down here, grab their attention and get to the surface with them right on our tails. Then we let my new army handle this while we rest."
"Are you sure this'll work?" Meloka asks you, eyes still whited out in her transformed state.
"Of course." you say confidently, walking much more confidently now that you can clearly see in the tunnel due to your flared golden aura. "We're not gonna fight a war down here. Drag them to the surface where we have the advantage. Eyes peeled everyone! They could be anywhere."

It was of course this exact moment that one chose to drop down from the ceiling right on top of you. Before you really know what's happening, claws flash for your eyes and its tail blade whips towards your guts.

You don't think, only react. You duck the claws going for your face, the points flashing through where your head was a second before as you duck.The beast hisses as it stabs now at your face, but you are too fast. You lean your head to the side, then grab the tail as it thrusts where your head was. With a shout, you pull the beast with your back and shoulders, as well as your arms. You spin, slamming the creature through the wall then releasing. You send it flying down the tunnel, down farther than your glow illuminates. You all take fighting stamces, but nothing happens. Watching the darkness, you hear at least three distinct hisses coming from the darkness around you.

"Eyes peeled, huh?" Meloka asks you teasingly, eyes never leaving the darkness.
"Hey I got him." you say, focusing on the hissing in front of you.
"Karn, what's the play?" Tatsu asks you, energy gathered into hia back hand. "Back or forward, or hold here?"

"I don't like this." you say, looking blindly into the darkness. "Okay everyone, here's the plan. I'm going to light this tunnel up. On my call, get ready to blast whatever's out there. Ready?"

"NOW!" you shout out, aura flaring up around you all and illuminating the tunnel all around you for a few dozen feet.

You are surrounded.

Less than a hundred yards from the entrance of the tunnel, and your group is already completely surrounded. The horde of Hivelings recoil at the light, hissing at the sudden brightness. They recoil for only a second, but that's all your team needs, leaping into combat. Meloka fires Energy Waves from either hand, mowing down dozens of the creatures with each blast. Tunnip draws her blades and leaps at the creatures, spinning and slashing through the creatures. Tatsu leaps back to Meloka, firing waves as well and watching her back. But most of the creatures rush you. You block claws aimed at your face then kick the creature away. Turning and backhanding another leading into a large right hook into the next rushing creature. Your movements are faster than any of the creatures can react, but there's just so many of them. Several times you take hits, shallow cuts across the skin. They sting, but you've had worse. Fighting through, you crush well over thirty creatures before they begin retreating, running deeper into the tunnels.

"Well that was fun." Tunnip says, deactivating her blades and wiping the sweat from her brow, panting in exhaustion. "But I need a break."
"Everyone okay?" Meloka asks, her aura flickering in and out, hair falling and rising.
"We're fine." Tatsu says, sitting down on the tunnel floor. "But I need a minute."
"Yeah, me too." Meloka says, her aura fading completly as she reverts to normal, falls backward onto the ground.

"Karn, we have to rest." Tatsu says, clutching a hand to his ribs. "We need a moment. Are you going to scout ahead?"

"You guys rest up." you say, standing in the middle of your allies. "I'll keep you safe."
With that you settle in, prepared to move at a moment's notice.

Minutes pass, the only sounds are from your aura and everyone's breathing. As your team rests, you begin to feel the strain of holding onto your transformation. It pulls your body to attack, to fight, to do something. But you remain where you are, vigilant. Your aura's glow illuminates the tunnel, giving you enough sight to see one of the creatures rushing towards you all, headed right for your team. But it doesn't reach them. You move like a blur, hand flashing up and stopping the creature dead in its tracks. Before it can react, you drive your other hand into its skull, pulverizing its brain in a single strike and sending its corpse tumbling back down the tunnel.

"You guys okay?" you ask, turning back to your friends.
"We're fine." Meloka says, back on her feet and back to normal. "Let's go."
Turning back to the tunnel, your team forms up behind you as you lead the way deeper into the tunnels. You all march deeper, seeing no Hivelings but hearing their hisses echoing around you.

The path remains straight, until you reach a fork in the path.
"Karn, what's the plan?" Meloka asks you. "Left, right, or splitting up?"

"We'll take the right path." you tell your team. "No need to split up just yet, we have Sarada's team up there as well, they can clear the other path."
"Speaking of." Tunnip says, as you all walk down the right-hand path. "What's the deal with you two? She seems to know you really well Karn."

"Well, we-" you begin, but are cut off by an angry hissing. Suddenly, several Hive creatures spring forth from the shadows claws-first towards you. You react on pure instinct, leaning back under their strikes and firing your Dual Energy Waves. Your attacks obliterate the two on the outsides, then land on your back and plant your feet in the last creature's chest, pushing with all your might and sending it crashing up and into the tunnel's ceiling, the poor creature crashing up and through it, embedding in the rock. Flipping back to your feet, you turn to check on your teammates and see they're engaged in battle.

Tatsu is going hand-to-hand with three Hive Drones, with more approaching fast. Meloka fires an Energy Bomb into the approaching creatures, then drawing her blade and cutting down another creature, while Tunnip's back is against Meloka's, the girls firing attacks into the approaching horde.

Hey guys work strikes again, I'll have the update up in about 30 mins. Sorry for delay

Tatsu's in trouble! You blitz over towards him, charging your Energy Fists on the way. With a shout you leap, crashing fist-first into the Hiveling about to stab Tatsu in the back. Your attack explodes in the creature's face, blasting it into several others behind and sending them all down to the ground in a pile. You put your back to Tatsu's, you and the older Saiyan protecting each other's blind spots and settle in to weather the flood of Hive creatures.

Claws flash, tail spikes thrust, and your Energy Fists explode over and over and over again. You simply endure the flood, deflecting and blocking the creatures' frenzied strikes and retaliating with explosive-packed punches. Deflecting a tail stab with the back of your arm, you then punch its tail, the blast severing it as the creature screeches in pain. Before it can move, you slap the creature with its own tail, sending it spinning back into the rest. This goes on for several minutes, your allies holding on and piling bodies as more and more bodies up.

"Karn." Tatsu pants out, delivering a crushing kick to the Hiveling before him. "I think this is a good enough group to lure into the ambush, don't you?"
"Yeah this should be good." you say, hand going to your scouter. "Alright everyone, we're going back topside. But first we gotta get clear of this mob."

"Meloka, get ready to blast us a path out of here. Tatsu, let's give her cover. Ready? Jump!"

When you say jump, you turn towards where Tatsu was, firing off an Energy Bomb into the approaching creatures. The bomb explodes almost immediately, obliterating over a dozen creatures before the sheer number of bodies absorb the blast's energy. Before they can rush you again, you leap back and fly over to Tunnip and Meloka, crashing feet-first into one leaping at Meloka, the force of your kick sending the creature soaring. You land in front of Meloka, just after Tatsu arrived. You all circle her, giving her the chance to gather her power without interruption.

"Here they come!" Tunnip shouts, drawing both of her Energy Blades and crossing them in front of her. You ready your Energy Fists again, assuming your defensive stance. Then the creatures are upon you all again.

You hold your ground, meeting the Hive's charge. Flaring your aura up, your first punch obliterates the entire torso of the rushing Hive Drone. The force of the explosion sends the creature's insides all over those behind it, blinding them and slowing their charge. As the creatures rush, your Energy Fists are kept barely-charged, blasting every single Hiveling away in a single strike. You all endure the swarm, keeping them back until you hear Meloka shout,

"FINAL-!"

With that you fire a quick Energy Bomb into the ones before you, scattering them, then backflipping up and over Meloka as she finishes.

"FLASH!"

With that her attack fires, the giant golden beam of energy obliterating everything in its path. Her blast goes up and up, clearing the tunnel up through the entrance.
"LET'S MOVE!" you shout, Grabbing Meloka in your arms and flying back up the freahly-cleared tunnel, Tatsu and Tunnip right on your heels. You all clear the tunnel entrance, your droid army standing at the ready.
"They're here!" you shout as you fly up and out, getting clear.
"Ready!" the droid commander says, readying his own wrist blasters as your army prepares itself.
"About time." Sarada says, still laying on the tank. "I thought you were gonna take them all yourself."
"FIRE!!" the commander shouts as the Hive emerge from their tunnels right into the trap.

As the tanks and soldiers begin firing, the noise is incredible. The cannons blasting, hundreds of blasters firing, the carnage is spectacular. You watch on, amazed, as your forces obliterate the attacking creatures. Their antique weapons seem to pierce straight through these creatures' exoskeletons, blasting straight through the advancing Hive.

"Where the hell did you find these guys?" Saradus asks you, flying up to your group as the carnage unfolds. "This is unreal, they're mowing the Hive down like they're as soft as Tuffles."
"They were here when we landed, and apparently a few centuries before that." you say, transforming back down out of your Super Saiyan state as you float back down to the ground behind friendly lines and watch the violence unfold. "I wonder where they came from?"

"Who knows?" she says, then turns to her team. "Alright guys, get ready. Soon as the metalheads clear out the Hive, we're going in. Hey Karn, if you're ready to go again you're welcome to come along."

You let her pull you along towards the creature, watching your droids' blasts hit the heavily armored beast's hide and sink in ineffectually. One of the tanks fires, hitting the creature in the face and causing it to recoil, roaring in pain.
"Let's go!" Sarada shouts, diving down at the beast and still dragging you along.

"Cease fire!, cease fire!" you shout to the droids as you all dive down to the beast. "We'll handle this one!"
"Roger roger." your droid army says -almost- in sync, ceasing fire.

"RrrrraaAAAUGH!!" Sarada shouts, dashing down as you slip out of her grip and join in the charge. She takes the lead, dashing in and punching the creature right in its headplate. Before it can retaliate, she's leaped away and you kick directly in its midsection, but you cause no more damage than Sarada. But you, Sarada and Mato keep its attention, like wolves harrying prey while Aspara and Cabba charge up a team energy attack.

"G-Get clear!" Cabba yells, you barely hearing his light voice above the sounds of combat. You dash to Sarada and pull her out of the way as the two Saiyans fire their attack, a giant purple beam blasting towards the creature. It roars in defiance of the attack, just before the blast takes it full in the face.

"Di-hah. Did we get it?" Mato pants out, the large Saiyan having had several close calls. Before anyone could answer, however, you all hear a roar from below you. Turning, you are all caught by surprise as the beast leaps up at you, trying to slap you all down. You push Mato out of the way then leap clear yourself, its claws inches from your face. You all fly clear then regroup above it, concern evident on many of their faces.
"That didn't work?! What do we do?" Aspara asks, lookig frightened.

"We do this!" you shout, drawing your Energy Blade and charging the creature. Sarada and her team follow your lead, leaping into combat to distract the creature. You dash down, slashing your blade through the creature's forarm as it tried to backhand you. It roars in pain, spraying blood as you fly past and behind it, scoring a deep cut along its ribs as you go. Before it can turn to focus you, Mato and Sarada punch it in the head, but it ignores them and turns regardless. Cabba surprises you all by copying the technique, creating a short blade and rushing the creature as well, his blade biting through the creature's tail in a single swipe.

The beast roars in pain, turning back towards Cabba to crush him for daring to take its tail. Before it can, however, you dash back in. Flying as fast as you can, you dash at the creature's neck, blade flashing through its hardened exoskeleton. With a shout, your blade cuts through the creature's neck and sends its head spinning down towards the planet's surface, landing with a crash. You turn to Cabba, deactivating your Energy Blade and patting the young boy on his shoulder.

"Good job, kid." you say, then turn to Sarada. "Ready to venture into the tunnels?"
"Karn look!" she says, pointing at the tunnel's entrance. Or rather, where the entrance was. The Crusher's entrance smashed it, the tunnel collapsing in on itself. "The tunnel's gone, now what the hell are we supposed to do?"

Unable to respond, you simply nod, your focus on your power, on bringing it to bear. Slamming your wrists together, you feel the familiar swirl of energy as the power multiplies on itself. Its time!

"FINAL FLASH!!"

You roar, unleashing your power directly into the planet. Your golden beam slams into the ground, blasting through the planet without any resistance. Your attack clears straight through the planet, the great golden beam firing out uninterrupted off into space.

"...Whoa...!"
Everyone stares on, completly shellshocked. Your attack punched straight through the planet. Thankfully you missed the core, and now the molten core spreads up and throughout the space, pouring into the tunnel network. You can hear the hisses and screeches of the dying Hive, even from all the way up here. You activate your scouter, watching their powerlevels disappear by the thousands. The larger ones aren't immune to the heat, you see even their massive powers disappear. All but one. An absolute monster, clocking in at around 200000. And it is moving up towards you! You ready yourself, prepared for whatever monstrosity crawls from the caves. And then you see it! A small, pale, eyeless creature crawls its way up out of the hole, sightless gaze fixed upon you.

This thing is too strong to take as you are. You clench, preparing to unleash your Super Saiyan power again. But before you can release it, the creature is right there in front of you!

"Wha-" is all you have time to say, the creature stabbing you in the gut with its hand. You go to grab the creature's arm, but before you know what's happening you're crashing face-first into the ground, crying out in pain.

"KARN!" you hear someone shout, as your conciousness begins to fade. You've been pushing yourself too hard for too long, your injuries beginning to overcome you. You clench your fists, forcing the void down and yourself up into a kneeling position, groaning in pain. What is it with enemies hitting you in the gut? Maybe time to work on your defenses. Looking up, you can barely track this unusual creature, seeing it only as a white blur knocking Sarada and each of her teammates from the air before they can react. You force yourself to rise fully to your feet, watching as the blur drops down into your army, laying waste to the assembled machine legion.

Does SSJ in this universe fatigue us over long periods of time like it does in the show?

If it does wouldn't it be prudent to spend as much time perfecting it in the grav chamber so that we can keep it up for longer? I know the gains won't mean shit but surely in the long run having mastered SSJ means more?

Also fuck the HIVE, I want to fight to some intelligent species next, possibly more on our level when it comes to Ki Control. Or even have Freeza hold a tournament in his domain to see who the strongest fighters are.

You've had enough of this. You blast off of the ground with the full power of your legs, flying straight towards the pale creature You go to uppercut it, the creature prepared and defending. But you're not done. At the last split-second before impact, you activate your Energy Fists. The additional power put into your attack catches the creature completly off-guard, the explosion sending the creature skyward, tumbling head over heels. But you're not done yet! Dashing fast as you can, you get behind the creature just as it stops its flight, searching for you. Before it can find you, however, you deliver a massive axe kick to the creature's skull, sending it crashing back down into the ground hard. You wait up in the air, recharging your Energy Fist while the dust clears.

Once you can see, the creature has risen and is looking towards you. With a hiss-snarl, the creature bolts from the ground towards you again, odd whiteish aura surrounding it. And somehow the creature is moving even faster, blitzing towards you at incredible speeds.

The creature flies straight at you, and your instincts warn you that you don't want hit by whatever that is. So you hold your ground, waiting for your moment. The pale beast is soon right upon you, ready to attack. At the last possible moment you leap right, the odd Hive creature flashing past you too quickly to correct course. As it soars past, you turn towards it ready to retaliate. But the creature had the same idea, turning towards you and holding out its hands. Before you can react, it fires its strange aura towards you as a beam of energy. Again you dodge, dashing past the giant beam and flying straight towards the creature. You go to punch the creature, Energy Fists still active. But the wily creature leaps back, dodging your retaliatory strike.

You both take your stances, staring each other down. You feel your Super Saiyan aura start fading for a moment, before you focus on it and forcing your power back up. However, your momentary distraction allowed the creature to rush you again, raking its claws across your face and sending you flying in a spray of blood. You quickly regain control of your flight, squaring back up to the creature.

"Damn, time's almost up." you think to yourself, feeling your powerlevel draining as your blood drips from your countless wounds. "I have to end this, now!"

You leave your scouter on, leaving the room and head to the armory, putting on just a training suit and heading outside to meet with everyone. You push the button to activate the ramp, walking down as your team comes into view.

"About time." you say, setting Meloka back down. "It feels like we've been stuck here forever. We got our next mission yet?"

"First things first, I'm teaching these droids how to pilot the ship." you say, gesturing the last two Battle Droids over towards you.
"Mission complete. Planet XK12C pacified. Awaiting next mission."
"Next mission, huh?" you ask. "Very well then, follow me. You've been assigned as pilots for my personal vessel."
"Roger roger." the machines chorus, following in step behind you.

Over the course of the next several hours, you teach the two machines how to pilot the craft. First with simple maneuvers, eventually leading to the most complex manuvers you can pull off. In a mere 12 hours, you've taught the machines how to operate everything on the ship, including diagnostics. It is much easier teaching something that never needs you to repeat anything, ever, than another living being.

With that done, you direct them to land back on the planet, while you go back towards your room. On the way, you meet Sarada headed towards the Gravity Chamber.
"Hey Karn, come with me." Saradus says, grabbing you by the arm and pulling you along. "I want to test this training room you've got setup in here."
"Alright alright, let's go." you say, as she drags you into the Gravity Chamber. She releases your arm and walks over to the control panel, setting the room to 5x Planet Vegeta's gravity.
"Ready?" she asks, taking her stance.
"Ready." you say, dropping into yours as well. Well this could be fun.

Interesting, with two droids one can pilot while the other mans the weapons. And they're both probably more capable of defending the interior than the original android we had piloting.
You know, we ought to get these guys...upgraded a bit. They're centuries old, I'm sure they've got plenty of wear and tear. Even if we can't ACTUALLY upgrade them, we can always get the parts they've got repaired and cleaned up.

You decide to start off this match rushing in. With a shout you close the distance between you and Sarada, swinging at her head with a huge right hook. She blocks with her left arm, the shock travelling up through each of your arms. You follow with a left kick towards her middle, which she catches, taking the kick full to the chest. She then throws you into the wall, you bouncing off the hardened metal and landing on your hands and knees. She tries to capitalize on your momentary disadvantage, but you're ready. As she leaps in, boot-first, you catch her leg and slam her into the wall, then deliver a left cross to her face, sending her flying to the other side of the room. She flips and lands feet-first on the far wall, then pushes off towards you. You dash up to meet her charge, you both clashing in the center of the room, neither of you able to gain an advantage. After several intense seconds of fighting, you both bolt away, landing and facing each other again.

"You've gotten sloppy." Sarada taunts, wiping her bleeding nose with the back of her hand.
"And you've gotten much better." you reply, dropping back into a fighting stance. "You've actually learned some technique instead of flailing around."
"Technique, huh? Watch this!" she taunts, her aura flaring around her.

You wait as Sarada gathers her power, you watching as her aura coalesces around her hands. You can almost feel the power she's gathering. Then with a shout she unleashes her attack, blast after blast after blast headed straight for you. Crossing your arms in front of yourself, you ready yourself to weather the storm about to hit.

Blast after blast scorches your upper body, the explosions forcing you further and further back until your shoulders are pressed to the wall, and still her attacks come. Blast after blast, explosion after explosion rocks you. While none of the attacks individually could hurt you, the repeated over and over of the blasts hitting you is starting to wear you down. But still you endure. After what feels like days, but could only be minutes pass, her attack slows then stops. You can't see her through the smoke, but can hear her panting in exhaustion somewhere nearby.

"Ha-Hahaha! Is that a-all you've got Karn?" Sarada taunts you clearly sounding winded. "Don't tell me you're done already?"

Saying nothing, you gather power into your palm. Focusing, you keep track of Sarada's location by her breathing. Just a little more...
"If you're not coming out I'm coming in!" Sarada shouts, bellowing a wordless challenge as she charges into the smoke cloud. You hear her coming, thrusting your palmfull of energy forward. As she bursts through the cloud, all she sees is your handful of power. She has no time to react.

"HAAAAAAA!!"

You shout out, firing your Energy Wave point-blank, taking Sarada full in the face and blasting her into the far wall of the training room. Your attack sends her slamming into it with tremendous force, then crashing limp to the ground, where she remains unmoving. Concerned, you start walking over to her to make sure she's okay. Halfway there, you see her start to shake. She rolls over onto her back, breaking out in laughter.

"What's so funny?" you ask, stopped in your tracks.
"You." she says, still giggling as she stands. Turning to face you, she resumes her fighting stance, blood dripping from the corner of her mouth as she grins at you. "Been awhile since we've fought. Just like the good old days, right?"
"Heh, yeah." you say as you resume your stance as well. "Let's keep going."

"Bring it Karn!" she shouts, leaping from the ground and flying at you, you matching and dashing at her as well.
"Hraaaaaaaaa!"
