A season has passed since the Battle of Gobbotopia. The first wave of new Roggarian reinforcements reached the colonies, which allowed our troops there to push the tribals south.
Elsewhere our allies have been gaining victories, but the enemy's attacks have been exhausting the limited manpower that the other Pantheonic nations are able to deploy. The Caliphate's push from the south has slowed down, but is still advancing.
All intelligence readings seem to point to the enemy switching strategies - instead of trying for a broad push on all fronts they will most likely attempt an assault on the Holy Mountain of Light with everything they can throw at it soon - but it will either have to happen before the winter or after, we believe.

What's changed about the war situation is Greskulm. When five thousand Trusted troops - Knights of Juras and the Kulargi Volunteer Force - sailed to the old Whitevayne colonies there, after some weeks of investigation and garrisoning the local settlements, contact was lost with the force - with one last spatial message getting through to the council:
"Spatial message for the council:
“ZZZZZggg help, the winterlord is ZZZZZGGGG treason and rebellion! ZZZZZ A blizzard like we’ve nevZZZZZZZZ The ships are freezZZZZZZZ.”

"Well first of all, we should listen to the intelligence given to us. We should make a considerable effort on the defense of the Holy Mountain of Light. I will personally help in this by sending Marcus and 300 Archive guards to help in leading the fortification effort.

Meanwhile we should send for a steady flow of reinforcement and supplies. We should also slow the attacks as to maintain fresh and fully armed armies and not half destroyed ones. Fighting conservativelly is primal in a continent so far away.

As for the matter of tat spatial message, we should investigate further into what happened exactly. While the broad idea may give some information, we might not have everything required before acting accordingly."

>Safoloki

The Caliphate has told us that their forces in Ortimox are over one hundred thousand.
Further news come from Zhongian - the capital is now the last bastion of Empress Kai's hold on the Empire, besieged by General Tso.

Our expeditionary party in Hajatas reported via Vozgidian spatial communications that through the mediation of our people there most of the Kambori factions have united and will soon liberate the capital, Kambor, after which they promise to send aid west as soon as they can.

"This Gregorius fella or whatever he's named speaks my language, we gotta defend that Holy Mountain with everything we got folks, if not it's game over for us all.
I say we divert all available ressources to that area. Troops, food, gold and our hopes and dreams.

Had we more time I would have suggested building a wall there. I know about walls, nobody build bigger walls than me. But we ain't got time for that now sadly.

For the Greskulm stuff. Does anybody know where that is? And do we even care?
I mean, our ressources are better spent in Ranelirda than with those dumb snowhuggers. Let's leave that stuff for later."

The issues that the idea of water golems face are various - the heavier the golem, the harder it is to move it around the water; Naturally, it also needs methods to propell it - the more they rely on magic - which they can - the more magical energy the golem needs to consume. Diving deeper under water faces the danger of crushing pressure, which can be faced with a thicker hull, but that goes back to the first issue.
Nevertheless - Roggar has always been a leading pioneer in golemancy - in our early days we managed to produce golems that could operate in Nayte's silver lake and since those days technology and magic have advanced greatly. With this in mind, the House of Lords has agreed to fund several prospecting Golemancers' projects from across Roggar - competing members of the Silverhand Guild, the Clockwork Guild, Golemancers of Gobbopolis and others. Should the King and his council choose, we could share our present technology with the other main golem-producing nations of the Empire - Ondalia and Kragnaal - so that we may pool our resources and brainpower into the project.

What should we do next?
A.Some expedition bullshit or something idk
B.War planning in the west
C.Another economic turn

By Roggarian initiative, a grand diplomatic conference is called for in the Imperial Capital. Many of the faces there are familiar with each other - mostly those who were at Xidasi a year ago, though no dragons, titans or old gods have been allowed in - just the mortal representatives of the nations fighting against the Vast.
Spatial communications allow contact with the homelands of the different nations and with the headquarters on the different fronts in Ranelirda.
With the opening remarks quickly spoken by Emperor Maldam Kragnan II, the conference begins. As initiators, the Roggarian representatives(Anyone you want really, could be by spatial comms or there present) have the first word - to give proposals, ask questions, bring up topics and whatever else you wish.

"Greetings, people of all nations fighting against the Felinkot, we ought to get right down to business, First, before starting any war plans, we should learn the numbers and strength of the Felinkot, as well as the location of the Vast. I ask all of you, the Rhoznaxi, those on the holy mountain front, and all other fronts. What have been the approximate sizes of the armies have you faced? Have you faced the Vast yet? If so, what element?"

"All this talk of numbers of soldiers deployed, capabilities and strategic locations. SAD.

You folks want to know what worries me? That the Pantheon is walking around us in physical forms, and we got no idea where they are or what they're up to.
I mean, our grand strategy should be centered around dropping this band of demigods on the head of one titan at a time, not how many soldiers we can have stomped to death on a daily basis."
>>
>>1868446
The Rhoznaxi claim that the foes they face in Ortimox are superior in numbers, but inferior in every other aspect, allowing the Caliphate to rapidly gain ground there.
What the high elves know about the Felinkot suggests that their lands have a population at least comparable to the HPE's:
"Their total manpower and raw resource potential is vast - pun somewhat intended. Again, in the past they've lacked unified leadership, uniform training and proper utilisation of technology - they still aren't a uniform force, but in terms of quality they have a marked progress compared to the last time the Avorei and Felinkot went to war, several decades ago."

According to the Buhowlosi representative, the Tribes of Tornomk in total have less than a hundred thousand capable troops after the recent losses they sustained. The Earth Vast Titan himself hasn't been seen since fleeing the field of battle and his tribesmen's combat efficiency has gone down.
The most dangerous and powerful are the armies of the Kingdom of Cilenar - the primary homeland of the lion-like Felinkot - and the twin tiger-like Rajats of Efrakyn and Maratyg.
It is believed that in total across the various fronts, the Felinkot have fielded over half a million, possibly up to a million - but again, these are general estimates. Even so, in pure numbers and armies, our side holds the advantage over the enemy - superior technology, training, defensive ground, fortifications, more varied magic. The enemy's main trump card are the Vast themselves.
Minor beings of the Vast have on some occasions been encountered, but not in any major force enough to substitute an army - for now.
As for major Vast beings - namely, the Vast Gods themselves - we have confirmations of Earth in the form of Tornomk and Water in the form of a Water Titan - both engaged previously on our front of the war. One more Titan-formed Vast God has been spotted - one who spearheaded the invasion on the Safoloki, a Titan who called upon the power of Wind, bringing down the flying armies of the Avorei in the first engagements of the war, singlehandedly causing great damage to the Empire's elites.
>>
"That's some bad stuff all right. I'll give you that.

Still, these savages are nothing we can't handle easily enough.
If the unified forces here in the old world keep on sending in forces to support the Avorei, we should be able to stalemate them along the frontlines as well as keeping the Holy Mountain safe.
And, while doing this, we utilize our most mobile elites to assist the Champions of the Pantheon with hunting down and destroying the titans one at a time.
We gotta fight smart folks, no more stupid fighting. Not if I can help it"
>>
>>1868562
"Its likely Tormok has re-positioned to join the assault on the Holy mountain, if the Wind Titan joins then we'll be in for a major battle and have to reinforce our armies there. For the Pantheonic forces I suggest we begin relocating to the Mountain to bolster its defenses."

"Darks invasion of Ortimoxif if its successful enough could bring them in range to start attacking the Feliknots southern flank forcing them to take pressure of the Mountain."

"The Avorei nations aside from Dahuntok should hold their own fronts to stop the Feliknots from surrounding us. While the Dahuntok's massive army can reinforce the Mountain and any of the other fronts should they falter."

"If anyone has any issue with these suggestion feel free to speak."

A clopping sound is heard. Quite audibly, in fact - and it's the most....right-sounding clopping. Everyone hears it equally and it sounds like what everyone imagines it should sound like. A man enters the chamber - well, half a man by some standarts - a halfling, shining armor and colourful decorations, cape of a colour that seems to be shifting with every second.
"Good morning, most handsome gentlemen and beautiful ladies! 'Tis I, the Imperial Capital's favourite Knight, come to bring joy to all who bear dour faces, soured by war between the races. Bountiful harvests and happy families will come to you - but only if you ask "Lambert, is that you?"
"Ettiquete demands and I supply - Sir Lambert Marnix, Champion of Batahl, is at your majesties' service, a humble warrior and an aspiring poet, today I've come not just to enjoy a stroll in the palace, but to dispel the malice and represent a certain group - one that I am sure you've all, like as not, heard of."
The smiling man bows.
"In short, I shall spin the tale my colleagues would rather spell, oblige ye with tall tales, but even then satisfy your needs as a gentleman heeds the call of deeds."
>>
>>1868708
"Fuck off you gay midget faggot and go kys. I bet you like to take Minotaur cock up the ass."
>>
>>1868708
”Lambert, is that you? You paint addled fucker of young men's genital slits, how are ya?" Ado asks, as if he is an old friend, despite having never met the man.
>>
>>1868708
"Champion of Batahl...that would explain a few things. So what's this tale you have for us?"
>>
>>1868737
"Get him outta here! OUT OUT OUT!"
>>1868708
"Ah, I can't say I did not expect your appearance at this occasion.
Only you then? The others out in there in the world with their apprentices and other allies?

Well, either way, we warmly welcome you here. Let us hear your words of wisdom and good advice"
>>
>>1868708
"Greetings Lambert Marnix, if you so wish, we do ask for your advice. After all, the Champion of Batahl may have some good wisdom to offer."
>>
>>1868744
"Why, I'm doing great, friend! I'm happy to see you with a smile on your face, I only wish all here were as cheerful." the halfling winks to the vulgar bystander.

"Now then - due to the nature of the meeting, a few discretions will be held and secrets still kept - but nevertheless, I shall make the attempt to be forthcoming with you all."
"Firstly, to explain our organisation a bit - we are men and women, chosen for one reason or another by our Gods of the Pantheon - one per each, to serve as Champion. Our powers are reminiscent to those of the Avatars of old - the tales of Saint Bereg you've all heard, I'm sure. We are mortals, of flesh and blood, yes - though I'd be lying if I said we are not capable, each in their own unique way.
A secret order of Would-be-Champions has existed since after Saint Bereg Nomin's death, across the centuries there were always candidates ready to accept the burden should the need arise - and so it fell unto my generation of Champions, in the year 800 after the Storm."
"Each of us can wield a small portion of the power of our respective Patron. We have, over these fifteen years, created a broader Circle beyond merely the thirteen Champions. We have taught the finest of the younger generations our ways and each of us, should we fall, has a chosen successor - a Second. I could go into further details, but suffice to say, we Thirteen stand at the head of an organization of several hundred elite warriors."
"We are each aboe to be in direct communion with our Patron God and through that, we Thirteen are all connected. I could tell you where all the rest are at this moment, for instance."
"We'd stayed in the shadows for the duration of the previous Imperial Government's mandate - the reasons for which are not limited to the desire to avoid a civil war within the Holy Pantheonic Empire. Yet with the end of that Empress' reign and the apparent rise of the ultimate threat to our continued existence, we have chosen to show ourselves. We do the Pantheon's bidding and will do so always - should the people who rule these Kingdoms be on the same side as us, we shall help in any way we can."
"I believe that sums up enough about our capabilities. You've seen - or heard - that three of us were able to take on the Shell of Earth, Tornomk. There are thirteen of us and, in the worst possible case at present, six of them. We will do what we can, but alone we are not enough for this task - and so, to ease suspicions and to reach what we hope is our common goal, I am here to talk with you on any topic you wish - though it saddens me just a little bit that none of my personal favourites are likely to be brought today."
>>
>>1868795
"Queer!"
>>
>>1868795
"If you are indeed in direct communion with the gods, would you be so kind as to tell us how the Gods feel about this war? Do they feel uneasy, do they have confidence in our victory? I'd like to know the general atmosphere of the realm of the gods at this moment."
>>
>>1868795
"Theyll be a time for discussing less serious matters Sir Lambert. You said you're connected to the other champions, is it simply knowing where they are or is there more to this connection?"
>>
>>1868795
"I see, that's quite interesting for us to know.

You know, I knew one of those apprentices of yours. Good gal, a bit unusual in the head perhaps, but a fine piece of ass. Shame she and her stupid brother got themselves killed trying to save a bunch of ungrateful savages.

I assume then that you're here today so that we might coordinate our efforts overseas?
Our armies working in tandem with you and your own private forces?"
>>
>>1868811
"Oh, we will win! Be sure of that, we certainly are! Of course, things'll go best if we all get along, hold hands and dance, drink and eat, then settle our differences in a fair game of poker. Alas, there is war - we all want to keep the things we love and to do that we have to fight. And that we do - things will get nastier, there will be a lot of work for Mor, but at the end of it all we will triumph."
>>1868816
"Oh, I could talk to them - it's better than spatial connection, there's no major delay or anything that can interrupt it. Technically, I talk to Batahl who's up There - he points upwards - and he talks to whoever he has to, who in turn talks to their Champion. A few extra steps involved, but I can speak to any of them, anywhere, any time. Of course, it's a bit inconvenient to be doing that while you're fighting, but no one's fighting ALL the time. Well, most of them aren't. If he could, Stoman's Champion would be."
>>1868823
"Oh, Valeria was a real cutie - to hear of her loss, I'd describe it with one word - sad!"
"Well, I'm here right now so I may as well tlak about all the strategies and whatnot. We could go into the metaphysical, the theological and philosophical aspects if any of you are having doubts about the good cause of the Pantheon."
>>
>>1868836
"Having heard of the great power of the Archangel in the second siege of Dominas, no offense to the Rhoznaxi here. Do the gods plan to send another Archangel down from the skies? Surely we need all the help we can get."
>>
>>1868851
"Should the direst need present itself, the Divine Power that the Gods can unleash would make the Archangel look like an initiate monk in training - you need not fret"
>>
>>1868836
"I'm sure who ever Stoman's champion would fight while sleeping if its possible. The connection you and your comrades have will be very useful in keeping track of the movements of our enemies Sir Lambert."
>>
>>1868836
"As you know, the Holy Mountain is in great danger, how much assistance can we expect from you and your fellow heroes in defending it good sir Lambert?"
>>
>>1868865
"I suppose it would be useful, yes - but we won't be working as spatial relay stations all the time, mind you. "
>>1868868
"This war has the following goals for us - preserve the Pantheonic nations, destroy the Vast Titans. To that aim, keeping the Vast of Light imprisoned is the most important task for us to accomplish on Ranelirda."
>>
>>1868891
"I'll look forward to seeing you or the other Champions i'm battle and hopefully after Sir Lambert. Now back to the plan as I said if anyone has any issues with the plan feel free to speak."
Plan goes as follows
-Pantheonic armies deploy to the Holy Mountain.

-The Avorei should hold the positions against feliknot offensives, redeploying as necessary if the Cats try to strike at weaker areas. the Dahuntok should bring most of their large army to the holy mountain breaking off forces to help restore any weakened fronts.

-Dark can assault the Felinkots southern flank if he manages to take Ortimox.
>>
>>1868992
"If I may suggest one thing, leave existing armies, so the Anglanorse and Centaur armies where they are, we need them to hold ground in the other nations, the Roggarians and Paitrans should redeploy to the mountain."
>>
>>1869015
>>1868992
revised plan
-Roggarian and Paitran armies redeploy to the Holy Mountain while Lursar and Anglanorse help hold the Avorei nations theyre in. If the Kambori can get their kingdom together in time to send aid we can use more troops in Orlaeg.

-The Avorei should hold the positions against feliknot offensives, redeploying as necessary if the Cats try to strike at weaker areas. the Dahuntok should bring most of their large army to the holy mountain breaking off forces to help restore any weakened fronts.

-Dark can assault the Felinkot's southern flank if he manages to take Ortimox. If the Zhongian's finish their Civil war they would probably work best with aiding Dark's offensive.
>>
>>1869057
"If I may add" Drunfs spatial voice slurred by a meal currently being consumed, "There's one thing that I suggested earlier that you have not factored into your plans.
The Pantheonic Champions. Our deployment of troops and ressources should be coordinated with them.

I mean folks, knowing how many of them will assist us with the defense of that mountain should be quite useful right?"
>>
Dragoncommander Belat Dragonscarred - who has been given the position of Imperial Marshall by the Emperor - has had his plan approved.
Redeployment of our forces in Ranelirda is currently underway. The first snows have started falling and the year is almost over.
General Tso has stated that he will have taken the capital by the end of the year.

After the conference in Xidasi, the Celestials of Zhongian declared that the civil war will be fought out and one of the two sides will bring it to a conclusive end - but only while following rules of civility, to minimize civilian casualties and to conduct warfare in the most honourable possible way. At the end of it all, one of the Kais will sit on the throne - either the human Zheng Kai or the current half-elf Empress, Jilian Kai.

Since then, General Fan Jing Tso has secured victory after victory, growing his armies largely by convincing the Imperial Forces to surrender and switch sides after a defeat or encirclement.
The siege of Daguoshin has been going on for over a month - most of the civilians were evacuated beforehand. The garrison is composed primarily of tiencalen as the conflict in general has seen the two main races of Zhongian largely flock to opposite sides.

You all control some fighters that are part of Tso's army - perhaps you're mercenaries, perhaps you were sent by a faction from Roggar - you decide who you are, in this I give you freedom. A named character or two perhaps and no more than six mooks per player.

The siege camp around Daguoshin.
Tso's army. An army bigger than some cities - two hundred thousand strong. It includes masses of armed commoners, militias, regulars who defected from the Imperial army, most of the nobles, feudals and their personal forces, hill tribesmen from the east and of course Tso's veterans - proffesionals, experienced and well equipped Zhongi warriors. In the large siege camp a particular spot - housing close to ten thousand men, enough for an army of its own - is reserved for the foreigners.
Mercenaries, adventurers, merchants, nobles - all sorts of people, various interests having driven them to this place. From across the Pantheonic world, in particular those who wield non-elemental magic are prized and well rewarded for their aid - after all, one of the big advantages that the defenders have is indeed their magic.
Cannons, trebuchets and rockets are regularly bombarding the city from their positions. The assault will begun on the following day, you are told. Final moments to prepare - train, rest, enjoy yourselves with the camp followers or pray to an altar of some God. Some Zhongi are sacrificing animals to the Celestials, praying for protection against the sorceries of the tiencalen. It's noon and you all have one round of freeroaming with your groups.

Horns are sounded, drums are beating - hundreds of thousands of feet begin moving. If you wish to claim glory for yourself and your squad during the initial assault, roll a d100, maybe state what you'll aim to do.

The outer walls have been taken - the defenders of outer Daguoshin were the humans loyal to the Empress, mostly locals who saw this as an attack on their homes and families. As the numerically superior attackers pushed in, the elves pulled back to the inner city, leaving sporadic pockets of defence outside to slow the enemy down.
It took the whole day to secure this foothold - around evening cannons and rockets started bombarding the middle walls, preparing for the second day's assault.

You had some opportunities to rest and recover during the dark hours, rising before dawn for the attack on the middle city.

>>1871457

>>1871447
You found some rich merchants' houses - these people are the type who flee if the opportunity presents itself. You began looting, but had to get out before you could finish as the building caught fire because of the battle.

The middle city is seized and time is given once again for the army to rest. Casualties have been very high - and they'll only get higher as we have less room to maneuver. Rockets, archers and mages from the defending side deal tremendous damage to the densely packed mass infantry formations that formed the meatshield on the front of the battle so far. Now Tso must commit his veterans as he prepares to assault the innermost city - the walls that protect the Palace, Court and High Temple.

Breaching those walls proves harder than before - some fall, only to be once again erected through earth magic. It was when all the siege weapons and magicians on the attacking side could be arrayed together that sizable breaches were made and the third assault sounded off.
The dead remain such, the wounded have recovered - onwards, to victory!

Fighting through the courtyards and hallways of the palace, thousands upon thousands on our side fell. It is a clear diffirence in quality against quantity. By this poin the common soldiers of Tso's army are little more than meatshields as the enemies we face are well-equipped, trained, experienced and magically capable elves. It is a grinding, slow push through their defensive lines and they make our side pay dearly for every gate we seize and every garden we tread over.

The Empress, now clad in armor and wielding a spear; Tywin Whitevayne, last mortal adult male of his line left standing, armored in plate and equipped with a sword and shield to protect his Empress; and two dark elves - one lightly clothed woman, a raven on her shoulder and one man, robes and drapes covering most of his body, daggers on his belts and a sabre in hand.

The battle is over! Victory is ours! The mercenaries are allowed to loot for the next half hour to their will while the soldiers mop up resistance.

The captives we secured were the now former Empress Jilian Kai, her General, now eunuch, Tywin Whitevayne and the famed assassin known as "The Ashen Prince". We learn from interrogating captives that the one who escaped is known as Zaluda - the leader of the Ying Quan Zi, the circle of dark elves who held power over the Court. She is said to be the grandmother of Jilian Kai and is known to be immortal by some means or another as her youth has been preserved for over eight centuries.

On 12.12.815, a new Emperor of Zhongian is crowned - Zheng Kai, direct descendant of Guan-lou Kai - the Emperor who opposed the Ying Quan Zi. The new Emperor is granted his Mandate to rule by the Serene Celestials and appoints General Tso as his Chief Minister and main adviser. A most trusted adviser to the new Emperor.

The final days of the year pass and New Year's Eve is celebrated as we pass into the year 816 after the Storm.
In Zhongian the new government is trying to stabilize the nation - its economy is in ruins, the people are tired of wars and there are still ongoing racial tensions. The Empire is in no shape to provide any significant aid in the west, especially considering that most of its fleet was lost in the war and hasn't rebuilt much since then - in fact, during the civil war a large portion of the navy deserted, taking to piracy or just leaving Zhongian. To make up for it, a number of the Serene Celestials will go personally - we will have dragons of every element fighting on our side in the West as a result.

In Hajatas, the united armies of the greenskins have defeated the Remnant Dawn and liberated Kambor city. Prince Gatob has bowed down to the new King, Drousdorb Echnih. Arboria's shipyards will contribute to the building of a fleet to ferry the armies of Kambor to Ranelirda at some point in this new year.

With that said, I'll ask for four rolls for Roggar and co.'s performance during these months;
>War industry
>Status of the homeland - morale and such
>War deployments
>Battles on the front

On the homefront there's good and bad news.
The good news is that the harvests were good enough and we won't be starving. Infrastructure, crime and public morale are all in good shape, the people pray for the successs of the boys in the west.
The economy's not doing all that well, though. The winter is cold and there were irregular earthquakes. There's not enough metal and lumber to cope with the very high demand put by the crown, expenses are high and the restructuring of the Imperial Bank has caused a general stirr in the Empire's financial state. All the trade ships being used to transport troops and material to the west have also caused trade to decline.

In Divanar a fleet carrying thirty thousand Roggarians departed for the west - twenty thousand Proffesionals, seven and a half thousand ogres led by Ogrelord Dreck and assorted others.
Those reinforcements should reach the Donnovril colonies soon. What's more pressing as news is that Ferhom and its surrounding area have been attacked from the north - the garrisons, tens of thousands of high elven troops and many ships, were anhilated by attackers coming from Greskulm. Mighty blizzards completely paralyzed the defenders, followed by an army descending upon their positions - the magic and weather completely crushed all chances of the city being held and the Aurileni forces have had to retreat south, many of them now near Gobbotopia, where a small local garrison is the only thing protecting the mostly ruined city and its region.
Our main army, along with the Paitrans, is in transit right now. We've had no problems at sea, but the same can't be said for all our allies - somewhere around Lekurk an entire HPE fleet was destroyed, the tens of thousands of reinforcements it was bringing from the other nations wiped away.
Other than that, the frontlines in the Avori Empire have been holding well and the Orlaegi have even taken to the counteroffensive, retaking the Salt Wastes. The Caliphate has continued its advance, now pushing into the desert.
It's late winter, 816 now.

Present force disposition in Ranelirda:

>Roggar
32k Proffesionals ; 10k various faction troops;
25 galleons, 5 caravels - these are the veterans of Gobbotopia, headed south
20k Proffesionals, 7,5k Ogrestani, 2,5k others, 10 galleons, 5 caravels - fresh reinforcements, near Vastia now

>High Elves
30k in Gobbotopia, 40k on the western front

>Paitrans
10k troops with us
15 warships
>Anglanorse
20k troops on the Buhowlos front

20 warships
>Lursar
15k troops on the Corvonni front
>Kragnaal
23k troops on the mountain front
>Petrekshan
13k troops on the mountain front

The Avorei have:
>Buhowlosi
60k mobilized troops on the front
>Corvonni
55k troops deployed
>Dahuntoki
A massive army of a hundred thousand duckmen on the mountain front
>Orlaegi
90 k troops deployed on the frontlines at the moment

The forces from Greskulm are believed to number between thirty and sixty thousand, but a sizable amount are giants and it's possible they have a God on their side as well.
The tribesmen of Tornomk are still fighting with about a hundred-odd thousand of theirs on the Buhowli front.
There are over a hundred thousand Felinkot on the Corvonni front as well.
The forces assembled to take on the mountain are estimated to be at least half a million strong. Their raids and probing attacks have been almost non-stop.
>>
Current plan
-Roggarian and Paitran armies redeploy to the Holy Mountain while Lursar and Anglanorse help hold the Avorei nations theyre in.
The Kambori should bring more troops in Orlaeg.

-The Avorei should hold the positions against feliknot offensives, redeploying as necessary if the Cats try to strike at weaker areas. the Dahuntok should bring most of their large army to the holy mountain breaking off forces to help restore any weakened fronts.

-Dark can assault the Felinkot's southern flank to harass them.

-Forces at Gobbtopia should do everything they can to slow down the army invading the region.

Anyone have anything to add?

There's good and bad news.
Again, our fleets were entirely uninterrupted. In early Abadid the main force reaches the Corvonni shores and marches south to the mountains, towards the end of the month the second force is expected to catch up to there.
Kamborash needs more time to prepare a fleet for their armies.
The Caliphate has conquered all of Ortimox - they report that the Vast God of Storm was beaten back. They're now moving up to hit the Felinkot from the side.
Gobbotopia fell. Some of the forces there were able to evacuate by ship, others have fled and are stuck between Earth and Ice - the tribesmen to their south and the army of winter to their north.

The most pressing concern, however, is the Holy Mountain Front. The allied positions in the lowlands have been assaulted and overtaken - heavy casualties among the armies of the Dahuntoki, halflings and dwarves. The counteroffensive in the Mana Wastes was also crushed and the Orlaegi there are in retreat. The centaurs are occupied enough on the Corvonni front, the Anglanorse and Buhowlosi are holding up the tribal, their fleets helping to evacuate those stuck in Gobbotopia as best as they can.

It is now early spring, 816. Our main army has reached the Corvonni capital city, Gardits, nestled in a sheltered cove, hills leading to mountains south of it, forests on either side west and east. Much of the city expands into the forest itself, a place where many Avorei find comfortable enough to live in - the Crystal Quarter, however, and its surrounding areas are the nicer, open to outsiders parts of the city - we drop anchor and begin unloading troops and supplies here. This is our first army, the second will reach the city within two weeks.
What should we do?
A.Spend some time here before we move on.
B.Rest, train, prepare and wait for the other army so we can move together
C.Move out for the mountains straight away

>>1878348

You go around the city together. Essentially, a third or less of it is built out of stone or marbl, with prominent use of crystals for decorations and lighting. The outer parts of the city are the woods themselves, where the bird people make their homes on the various levels of the trees, houses connected by ropes, ladders and bridges.
Crystalworking is the most specific traditional craft of the Corvonni and they make beautiful products for all sorts of purposes with those crystals. Some, you are told, also serve "Defensive" purposes - on towers lining the walls or around the Archont's Seat, the palace of the nation's ruler, situated in the High City. The High City can be reached by way of mechanical evelators for groundwalkers - the Corvonni who have working wings often prefer to fly the distance.
Indeed, the architecture in many places is built with flying in mind - some buildings are unreachable for those who can not rise above the ground.
The Grand Temple of the Triumvirate holds statues of white-gold marble to the Titan of Light, Veltichsvam, and the Dragons of Light - Havalach and Elechtia. Curiously, this is the one building that is made intentionally with no elevated position that a flyer can perch upon comfortably - a rounded, domed shape on the exterior, with a circular opening in the middle. Veltichsvalm is depicted holding up a "Mountain", at the top of which is yet another great crystal.
You learn that the design here is intentionally made to put all worshippers of the Triumvirate on equal ground - be they fliers or walkers - for it is the Gods of this land who are supreme.

The army marches for weeks - through the largely forested lands of the Corvonni, into the more varied central Kingdom of Orlaeg - across the flat grasslands of the Empire's heartland, the roads are good enough for our army to move at a fairly normal speed - unfortunately, what we need is more than normal. Forests and plains give way to hills, which then, in mid Domnis, lead to the riverlands, at the foot of which begin the mountains proper.
Straight south is the mountain itself, but west of these rivers are the main frontlines. Used to be further west, but now they've been pushed less than a hundred kilometers west of where you are - it's a similar distance to the mountains, the western side of which are also under attack.

Snow. You hadn't expected this much, but even in mid spring the mountains past a thousand meters above sea level start getting rather cold - it's not unpassable, but it's still a noticeable amount of snow. We're able to deploy quickly enough - and before the enemy's entire army has shifted its lines to meet us at that.
And an army they are - better structured, more uniform and with a singular purpose - unlike the mobs of loosly united barbarians we faced previously, these are soldiers in formations that fly banners of their home nations.
Our vanguard begins engagin the enemy - long-ranged skirmishing while cavalry and infantry maneuver to get into a position to strike at them. This army's size may be comparable to ours, perhaps a bit smaller - our advantage is a partial element of surprise, but we need time before we can deploy all of our force, which is stretched back over more than a mile.
The battle begins! 3v3 rolls.

Our archers, crossbowmen and gunners try to find good position, but the rough terrain is making things hard on all of us. The catmen appear to have artillery and partially entrenched position that they were using as a center for their attacks on the dwarvish defenses - our initiative gives us some early strikes against the enemy as our swifter cavalry hit the outmost lines of the felinkot, but their army starts restructuring to face us properly.

We're able to deploy our front units and begin hitting the enemy from range, with our cavalry conducting several charges and withdrawls. Our light infantry goes forward to harass them while the heavy infantry hold a defensive formation - sending them ahead now would be foolish.
The enemy is wheeling around and has positioned themselves to face us - our central units are approaching the fighting lines now.
The order of battle in general is at the commander's discretion.

Both armies are now deployed, nearly mirror images of each other - on this rough terrain, where maneuvers are difficult and the combat width is limited. Our numbers are roughly equal, but the felinkot are not looking to attack our positions, as they seek to hold high ground. Our armies have skirmished and stared down each other for what's now been over three hours in total, with no clear winning side.

The cats are quick on the run - our cautious pursuit didn't catch up to too many of them.

End results of the battle - of our eighty-odd thousand men we had seven thousand dead, while the enemy lost around twenty thousand killed or captured. The wounded on our side are about eight thousand treatable.
By all measures, this was a decisive victory for Roggar - the leader of this defensive line, the Kragnan General Borin Sandoug, congradulates our commanders and offers them warm quarters and cold drinks down inside his headquarters - the center of a complex sytem of half-dug in fortifications his forces had built, using experience acquired on the Petrekshani front.
After you've celebrated your victory, the general will brief you on the situation on this front - that is to say, tomorrow.
>>
You go underground, past barricades, traps and enough gunpowder stashed to make an Eternian warmonger blush. In a larger chamber you're given places to sit down around a table.
"So, me fellows, what say you we eat and drink our deserved share after this victory, eh? Or do ye want to get down straight to maps and charts?" the general asks you.
"I could spare some time to eat and rest." the Paitran King, Charlion says as he carefully sits down, adjusting his recent prosthetics.

"Well, only one of my feet is my own, but at least I can move both. The Duke's right, real rest only awaits us with Mor."
Along with the rest of the group, the three Champions who fought at Gobbotopia also come in. Regular pleasantries and introductions go around as everyone takes their seats and the General's aides bring in some warmed-up food and ale.
"I've had no word beyond this side of the front - I heard there was a big battle up north in your colonies?"
>>
>>1880706
"Aye, there was." Rabban mumbles as he fiercely stuffs his mouth with food, displaying the table manners similar to that of a rather rude hog.
>>

"The latest news we had said that of the Aurileni armies, about half their total force from before the Winter invasion evacuated to the Buhowlos front by sea - the rest were either defeated in battle or are dispersed behind enemy lines. The northern front has been closed, Buhowlos is where that line of defence lies now. The reinforcement route from the Dominion is also closed off until a sizable new force can be assembled to retake it." Charlion explains
"The losses we've incurred in the middle ocean have also deprived us of what could have been tens of thousands of fresh troops from the Empire."
"Not hard to figure out the enemy's grand strategy, then" the dwarvish general says "Cut us off from our routes of reinforcements and whittle away at us with superior numbers."

"If I may say my thoughts" Zemel's Champion, Sir Emmerich Ford, speaks "Or rather, Our thoughts. Sheer numbers won't win this war for the cats and they know it. The Vast of Water has been sinking our ships, the Vast of Ice leads the Winter Army, The Vast of Storm is fighting the armies of Dark in the south. Earth may still be licking his wounds - if not, he's likely headed this way. From what my fellow Champions have told us, Fire leads the push in the lowlands northwest of us, Wind is the one closest to us - just west of us."
"It doesn't get much easier when you consider the fact that one of our "Allies" is the God of Darkness." the Champion of Ezdar says
"We may hold a common enemy, but he is no friend of ours and would gladly stab us in the back if we are no longer necessary as allies."

Finishing up with the food, you're shown maps of the region.

"As you can see, my post was here in the north, with half the remaining forces of Kragnaal under my command to watch for any cats looking to flank us - this army you defeated somehow managed to get past the lowlands front and made it here."

Brows furrowed, Rabban stares intensely at the map while pretending to understand.
"Maybe, we should pursue that retreating army? A few hundred captives to flay should produce a few willing to tell us how they snuck past the lowland front."
>>
>>1880845
"We already have over two thousand captured enemies. We could send our cavalry out to catch up to the cats, but that'd be risky, especially if they've rallied into a proper fighting force again by this point." King Ezgielan says.
>>
>>1880831
"Any threat of another army slipping by? I find it a bit curious that one managed to get by us. And on top of that, there's a notable lack of a fort across the river from Great Perch - while we should trust the Eagle King's armies, it does seem a little troublesome."
>>
>>1880877
"That would owe to the fact that the fort across said river was destroyed in the previous big advance the enemy undertook."
"You may notice a lack of bridges there, where the river is wider. The terrain is also such that getting an army across is bothersome. It's on the western side that the ground is flat, on the eastern side it starts rising fast - the eagles hold the high ground there."
>>
>>1880864
"Two thousand captives you said? Some of those gotta know something.

Risking our cavalry alone might not wor out, these cats are though. But harrying and raiding them for a while should be done.
And if we can entice them to come back then all the better, we'll draw them in and slaughter them all by waves of conscripts."
>>
>>1880885

"Finding a way to take out or push back the Abyssal one would help us greatly. Didn't the Akeshisu say they would help patrol the seas for it?"

"As for our "ally" i fully expect Dark to betray us but not before the other vastian beings have been put down or he has an opportunity to wipe them all out at once."
>>
"Marshall Belat, if you had to put forward a general plan for our combined forces here, what would it be?" the dwarvish lord asks

"I'd draw back the Roggarian forces to the hillier green areas behind the Garrison, and the Paitrans even further back to the rocky plateau. Our main advantage here is the terrain, and pursuing would put us on poor footing with the enemy.

As for the Eagle King, having the second army sitting there across from that of Maratig seems to accomplish little unless they have a foolproof way to cross the river. I'd suggest moving that and the army nearest Duneswatch of his down to the fort there. It would allow them to stop Sfixum from taking that bridge, mean that deployment could be done to stop Maratig from crossing the river, and if Sfixum went round the side of the mountain, we could move to the plateau which part of the fort is based on and fight on even ground. Even if they attack Duneswatch, we could send part of those armies to help Petrekshan."
>>
>>1894181
"Well, we aren't really in a position to order the locals around, but our own forces can be redeployed somewhat, I suppose. Bear in mind, the terrain here is one of steep rises and falls. South of here it's largely canyons, there's rarely a surface large and flat enough to deploy an army properly - this works to the advantage of the eagles, generally speaking."
"I'll have my forces deploy on this front to bolster the Kragnans - you, Roggarians, might be better employed elsewhere, but we can leave that to your discretion." Charlion says

The Roggarian army - current numbers around 68 thousand - marches south, crossing one of the many smaller rivers that lead to the large lake. Past the waterside valleys, filled with well-off villages and towns that grow crops and herd a variety of local animals - the turkeys and bisons here being closer to our tastes than the giant insects more common across the Avori lands.
In a town on the lake's southern shore, where we briefly stop so that the rearguard of the army can catch up, the locals seem to be in a very cheerful mood - the mayor says that celebrations are in order as Emperor Dureal Tregal, the Eagle King, has won another glorious victory most recently, repelling an invading Felinkot army that attempted to cross the western river. A great triumphant march and celebration will be held in the capital, Great Perch, to inspire the people of Orlaeg further.

Great Perch - capital of the Orlaegi Kingdom and, to an extent, the entire Avorei Empire. The city is in fact more of a series of towns and cities carved into the mountain, a single winding path leading upwards being the only stable path for landwalkers. Fliers, of course, can take more direct routes. The entire city's population is roughly comparable to Dragonstomb's million, with one of the larger clusters being Emperor's Hill, where the court of the nation's ruler and many important administrative centers reside.

We arrive a bit early, it seems - the city is preparing for the celebrations two days hence, on the 1st of Stomnis. Looks like there'll be time to roam around freely acros the various levels.

From here, at a height of over nine thousand feet, you can see far into the distance, with nothing to block the horizon for many miles west. The Orlaegi were once disparate tribes native to these mountains and the lowlands immediately north and south of them - lands that encompass merely half of what the Kingdom is today. Their centuries of warring tribes were ended when the first Eagle King was blessed by the Titan of Light Veltichsvam and the Dragons Havalacht and Elechtia, who revealed to him and his people their destiny - to unite all the Avorei under one banner and one faith. The task would take half a century of conquests and wars that eventually shaped the Avorei Empire as it is today. The Orlaegi are proud warriors who value their traditions and believe in their purpose as the Empire's foremost guardians.

The day of the triumphant celebration is here. You're given places to observe from as the army marches triumphantly through the streets of Emperor's Hill, having previously gone through the lower cities. Captive Felinkot are paraded, music blares loudly as the people cheer and throw flowers at the soldiers.
The army of the Orlaegi - like the eaglemen themselves - is primarily landwalkers, but its flying contingent is significantly larger than any other Avori army. It's an impressive show as captured cannons shoot out into the west, fireworks light up the sky following the path that two dragons take.
The Emperor's own guards form up in the Capital plaza, along with units from the army that distinguished themselves the most. The Avori Emperor himself speaks from a balcony, fine-tuned magic allowing his voice to be heard far and wide - after his speech about the many victories to come and the destiny that the Avori will manifest, he mentions by name some of the most accomplished heroes in the ranks of the army and has them step forward. Flying down to them, he gives medals for distinguished military serivce as he briefly talks to each of those heroes being awarded.

At the end of the award ceremony, he flies up into the air and salutes his men before returning to the balcony. The Light Dragons then fly overhead, circle around before perching atop reinforced surfaces on the palace made for them - they let out roars, after which they light up the twilight sky with beams of light, shot out west, in the direction of the enemy that still remains - after which an even greater beam of magical light, almost blinding gold, is shot out from even higher up - from the peak of the mountain - in the same direction, with the final rays of the sun then vanishing beyond the horizon.

Feyd shall seek to socialize with the upper echelons, seeking to be of assistance for his fellow Roggarians in the challenging field of diplomacy.

His brother Rabban on the other hand care little for the others. He shall feast, wine, sing and seek in his own unsubtle way to secure himself a tactical marriage or a wealthy friend to exploit later on.

You managed to get your hands on an excellent pair of Aviator Spectacles - the latest fashion around here, they are based on the eye-protection worn by elite flying units, who want to keep their sight during battles thick with lightbeams going off.

The two most powerful feudal lords of the Holy Pantheonic Empire...had their presence noted, among others.

You found a local lady with tastes equally as weird as yours - you ended up getting along quite...well.
>>1895059
The birds have a very different metabolism - granted, it is not the same as the one that can be observed with their animal counterparts, but the Avori still are unable to find nutrition in milk and dairy products, which is one of the biggest factors in the difference in cuisines. On the other hand, they are quite happy with consuming meats from insect species, though most such meats are considered more plebian. Nuts and oats are also more widely consumed by the Avori, though again, mostly by the commoners. You find the food served here to be more to your taste.

>>1895045
Bird dances are an odd thing. The distance, speed and movements all take into account the biological differences - claws, beaks and wings. Still, many of the basic principles an Oldworlder may be familiar with apply. You eventually learn one of the ground dances and are able to perform it reasonably well - of course, without wings or a method of sustained flight, you can't properly emulate those who do the air dances.
>>
>>1895061
It seems the military commanders know of you, the Imperial Marshall - you are welcomed to talk to them as they take a stroll across the upper level, overlooking the large dance hall.
You learn that the Emperor himself is a skilled and accomplished strategist and tactician and has a capable, well structured staff. They describe their latest victory - the result of successfuly baiting the Maratig forces into attempting a forceful crossing of the river, followed by rapid deployments on all fronts and battle actions too quick even for the Vast Titan of Air to save the entire Felinkot army.
"Were it not for that accursed monstrosity, our victory would have been absolute and not a single enemy would've gotten away. Nevertheless, we proved that we can take the enemy on even with a "God" on their side." one of the generals tells you.
>>1895084
King Dahanald Dahek IX was able to quite successfully assemble a massive army, but his skill in actually commanding it has been rather subpar, you hear. Casualties have been very high on that front, by latest news over half of the original army force having found their deaths. Still, the King is calling on more and more troops to replenish his ranks as he thirsts for battle.
>>1895109
Neither nobleman's quest was a success, though neither was a complete failure either. Feyd found himself among the crowd of Roggarian nobles with few friends and little interest shown in them from the native rulers, while Rabban found no opportunity for tactical marriages here.

The feasting and celebrations eventually draw to a close. Quarters are given to the dignitaries to rest in and on the following day, 2.6.816, a war council is assembled.

The situation on some other frontlines isn't as good as it is here.
On the Buhowli and Corvonni fronts, the enemy made marked gains - the Ice Vast supporting the push in the north and the Fire Vast being suspected of aiding the push on the Corvonni side.
The Orlaegi front is in fact the one that's holding the best - the Caliphate's advance in the south has been turned back somewhat.

Getting reinforcements through the ocean has been almost impossible.

Current forces across Ranelirda:
>Buhowli front
10k Anglanorse troops
35k Aurileni troops
50k Buhowli troops

Estimated enemies - over 40 thousand in the Army of Winter, ninety thousand or so tribesmen.

>Corvonni front
35k Corvonni troops
9k Lursari troops

Estimated 100k-strong enemy army advancing
>Orlaegi Lowlands
56k Dahuntoki
13k Ondalians
10k Safoloki
10k Orlaegi
Estimated around 150k enemies west of them

>Highlands front
9k Paitrans
68k Roggarians
12k Kragnans
60k Orlaegi
10k Petrekshani

Estimated around 200k enemies to our west

>Desert front
10k Safoloki
20k Orlaegi

Estimated 30-50 k enemies holding mountain positions

Roggar has 40 warships, Ondalia has 20, Anglanorse has 40 and Paitras has 15 to contribute at sea; The High Elves have 50, the Avorei have lower quality ships, most of them not very suited for high seas combat.

Domna and Abagar's champions are on the Buhowlosi front
Stoman, Divata and Charodei's champions are on the Corvonni front
Mor, Drana and Juras' Champions are on the Lowlands front
Ezdar, Zemel and Kovag's champions are on the Highlands front

Furthermore, three wind, one fire, one earth, one storm, two water and one ice dragons have just arrived in Dahuntok along with a small, elite Zhongi force.
>>
The Akeshizu have a fleet of 220 cannon-equipped warships and eighty thousand land troops prepared on the Karamori isles. The fleet could be deployed within a month, the army - within two at most.
>>
Current Grand Strategy plan:

Have the HPE ships anchored near the Archonate to assist the Akshisu in hunting down the Abyssal Vast and its minions so we can move troops to the new world by sea.

See if the HED can get another portal up between Evalamis and Orlaeg to allow the Aurelian army to bring its full force against the Vast.

Request for the 3 wind dragons to focus with three champions on the Wind Vast.

As for the other armies of the Pantheon and Avorei they'll have to hold where they can until renforcements arrive.

The rest of the Zhong forces should move to aid the Corvonni front with the Akeshisu sending their own army to aid it. Even if that front falls the Akeshisu can move to intercept the Felinkot army if it tries to move south.

Still trying to work out a grand strategy. As you can see there a lot to consider so give input for the plan if you have any.

We'll do a total reshuffle of 2 fronts in terms of champions.
First, the champions of Stoman, Divata, and Charodei, using Charodei's Spatial magic will teleport to the Highlands front. The Charodei champion will then teleport Ezdar, Zemel, and Kovag to the Corvonni front.

The 3 champions, Charodei, Stoman, and Divata will prepare to fight the Air Vast alongside 3 Wind dragons. We will do a feint attack to draw the air vast to us, and then engage the air vast with our champions and dragons.

The battle opens with long-range skirmishing as cavalry and infantry advance to meet each other. Our side fields guns and crossbows, while the Felinkot prefer bows. Our cannons are superior and our long-distance magic is overall stronger and more varied - we have four dragons on our side, three of wind and one of light.
Mid-ranged fighting will now begin as the more mobile units may also engage the enemy in charging attacks.

A force never before unleashed upon the Mortal Plane - the Wrath of a Pantheonic God, in all its Fury.
Vilmos feels his blood boiling as everything around him and everything about him changes. Expands. The Godly Will inside him, the one he'd been protecting for sixteen eyars, now takes over his mortal form entirely. There is only so much a mortal can do - even one such as him - but in the short amount of time he has, he knows that he must, he WILL defeat his enemy.
The body of Stoman, in the shape of its Avatar, is of a size comparable to a titan. With a fiercome battle roar, Stoman charges forward, faster, stronger, better, tougher.
A boulder is flung at him, but Sheng's wind blows it away.
Ahinashada tries to cast cyclonic winds on Stoman, but Mirabelle's spells and Havalach's light break them apart.
The last charge of Vilmos Batori. His spear, a tip behind which are propelled the strength of a million warriors from Stoman's Halls, pierces Ahinashada's torso, coming out of the other end. His charge does not stop as he batters down the air titan, trampling over its body. Tornomk's earthen fist smashes down on Stoman's shield, but that will not deter him. He turns around and charges again - and with the last of his force, he plunges his spear into the heart of the titan, spelling the death of Ahinashada's body - and the banisment of Wind's divine, corrupted soul into the abyss.

In his last waking moments, the centaur heard two voices.
"Vilmos, my Champion, you have served me well. Above and beyond the call of duty. Know now that your sacrifice will never be forgotten and that your courage will be an eternal reminder to all of what a true warrior's spirit is." the familiar voice of Stoman called as he felt his power leave his body
"Mortal...thank you. This life of mine that had no meaning has found its end at last. I feel myself again, even if it is for but a moment - and though I now die, I know that for once, I feel alive." he heard a gentler voice whisper in his ear as he closed his eyes, breathing his last, laying on the ground as his heart beat one final time.

Wu Shi's head hangs in shame.

Seeing the battle before him lost, Tornomk's advance came to a halt. He began to back off, cracking the ground in half so as to prevent pursuit. When he could trust his back was safe, he turned around and started walking back north. One had fallen on each side now. Another battle would be fought, at a different time, in a different place.
And with that, the battle of Wind's End came to a close. Margarita Sokolova limped to safety and treatment, Mirabella sat down, breathing heavily, taking her hat off. Wu Shi, head low, gripped his sword and walked off, heading west. He would walk and walk and the only battle that remained for him was the battle against himself. But for now, the fighting has come to a close.
