Glory to Alainn!

You are Cathal Rathais, one of the chosen elite, the 13th Legion, scouting a world 4231 years after your country won the Grand War and placed itself in cryostasis to allow the planet to recover.

You have assumed the false name "Ace Locke" for your hunter identity. So far, only two people have seen through it, one of which can read minds.

You are back in California again.

"We'll go to lab 4, take it, and use it to build an army of machines to press onto the fae with."

Vee tilts her head, "They'll still have the same mental template. You'll have to add your own thoughts to their development."

Oh, you certainly know what to add. Loyalty to your glorious nation! To the Grand General! Glory to Alainn!

Almeda smiles, "We have that covered. Relax."

Your vehicle jumps over the terrain, followed by a hovering transport Jeremy seemed to produce from one of the blocks and a pistol.

You arrive at the lab. The front has broken mechs, heavier than Faye's. Descending, you find dried blood, the remains of soldiers and scientists. Faye damn near exterminated the place.

Alleria stops above a few scientists. Her hand stretches, "Brain's intact... hrm... Okay, I can understand these concepts..." She produces a clipboard, writes for a bit, and hands it to Jeremy, "Here."

"This? Hahahah, this is so inefficient! We could up the speed and stability just with a few modifications. Easy." He hands the clipboard back.

You descend into the lab. It's large enough for the mechs to move about.

You find a mass-production line for mechs, and later, one for cloning. There's already DNA samples for cloning, so no donations are needed.

There is a device for installing memory and experience. You decide to install your own loyalties into these clones. Almeda contributes as well to the process, covering anything you missed. The vats are started up after Jeremy and Alleria tinker with them.

Now the assembly line needs your attention. Only one type can be produced at a time, and you should let it run on auto to save time.
>Make scout mechs. (light armor, moderate damage, fast speed.)
>Make stealth mechs. (Faye's kit. Medium armor, Sniping setup, somewhat quick.)
>Make main battle mechs. (heavy armor, multipurpose role, decent speed)

Heavier, boasting four legs, thick armor, and a gun turret larger than the body of Fae's mech, the main battle mech that rolls off the line first is a sight to behold.

Soon, a pod, containing a freshly matured clone sealed within, slides into the cockpit and secured deep within. The mech shifts as the sensors focus on you.

The speakers crackle as they are used for the first time...

"Glory to the our great nation!" The pilot declares, "Reporting for duty, sir!" You order the mech to await orders outside.

Over the span of an hour, 6 mechs are built and sent out. It's astonishing how quick the system is, making a war machine and pilot in a mere 10 minutes.

Jeremy walks behind you, "This method is in fact 240% faster than it was before. They couldn't produce clones this fast. It's hard to add a neural path to a rapidly growing brain. Rapid growth itself is pretty difficult too."

"How did you get around it?" You ask, curious

"I didn't. I dilated time in the pod. Time moves faster inside thanks to my devices, so they experience growth at the same rate as regular humans. It allowed me time to stabilize their minds too." Jeremy grinned, "Lab 4 pretty much ours now... well, yours."

You wait a while. By the time you have 60 mechs, you decide to move. The new mechs are given the order to move to a location Alleria gave you. FEATHER will help you deploy them.

With an army of war machines at your back, you move on the faerie forest, following the fae queen's call.

Your mechs reach the treeline like sledgehammers on plywood. Faeries panic and scatter in the face of the war machines. Soon a resistance is raised... And then Vivianne engages.

"MAKE WAY FOR THE QUEEN!" Threes twist under her power into a clear path. Fairies cry out, rushing her. With a jolt from behind and a dodge from Vivianne, the fae are reduced to dust. Jeremy stands, holding his smoking gun.

"The destroyer! The destroyer has come!" You hear their cries fill the forest.

You push all the way to Lab 5. Jeremy has collected a few jars of the dust in the process.
the entrance looms before you, a place mechs used to be built, now gutted and overgrown. You drive in.

Fae within scream and run before the Trost siblings and the greater faerie. For once they don't seem like a threat... but you know far better.

Finally, you reach cells. Within one, behind barred glass, sits a radiant beauty of a woman, with flowing purple hair, a crown of flowers in her hair. She looks to you, longingly. Large wings look like a cape behind her. She stares at you with a gentle smile, "Come, child, join me."

You wonder if you should enter, jump into her arms... You have to shake the thoughts from your head.

"There she is! We can complete the rite now!" Vivianne says joyfully.
>Enter cell (Warning, may affect thoughts.)
>Let Alleria and Vivianne enter cell alone, watch them on guard.

You look at Jeremy, "Do you have equipment for recording this and scanning it?"

"Hrm Oh, yes, of course. Always." The mad scientist proceeds to draw a variety of strange tools from his coat, setting them up along the wall. You can't help but think there is no physical way those fit inside there.

Vivianne leads, Alleria not looking too pleased, "Funny, I wanted revenge, but this seems a rather odd way to do it."

The two enter the room, you watch, weapons ready.

The lovely woman spreads her arms, revealing a shimmering dress. Jeremy closes the door.

"Ah, my daughters have come to me! I see you brought others... they'll make a fine addition to my court."

"Don't delude yourself. I'm not your daughter, and we aren't here to rescue you." Alleria responds.

"Oh? That can't be so... Child?" She looks to Vivianne imploringly.

"I serve the heir., the new queen. We have come to complete the rite."

The queen's serene smile drops, "The rite?! But I'm not finished yet! I can still rebuild the tribe!"

"The heir holds majority in the tribe, with one follower. The crown is hers." Vivianne proclaims.

The queen takes a step back. "You can't have it!"

"Idiotic faerie, You don't have a choice." Alleria's form warps as she comes after the queen like a surging tidal wave. The queen frantically looks towards you and the others. You feel an urge to help her fight off this-

Jeremy smacks the back of your head, sending you reeling from the fae call, "Look looked about ready to run in there." Almeda appears to be rubbing her head as well.

You can here a strange chant in a language you don't understand. Only Alleria and Vivianne stand in the room now.

"What happened to the queen?" You ask.

"Absorbed by Alleria." Jeremy states, "From what I understand, only the heir can do that... Faeries can't raise a hand to their queens otherwise." He grins, "Perhaps if I find a way to mimic the claim of heir..."

There is a flash of purple. The whole facility becomes more pale, less saturated in color. Alleria looks slightly brighter, but otherwise you can't tell.

Vivianne lets out a cheer. It sounds kind of embarrassing with just one person cheering.

>Alleria is now the queen of the Violet fae tribe. She may now convert enemies into subservient faeries.

Jeremy pats his sister on the back, "I hear fae tribes often reflect the queen in personality."

"Why, are you wanting to end up as a faerie, little brother?" Alleria shoots back.

"Hahahah, no. I'm just curious what a bunch of fae made by you would act like. Imagine a tribe of mature, composed faeries."

"..." Alleria simply glares at Jeremy, "I suppose that would make them MORE dangerous, wouldn't it?"

"Eheh... we should probably get out of this forest and back to the other world."

You are deep within faerie territory with an army of mechs and a new faerie queen.

"What other areas could we gather materials at?" You aren't going to say 'loot' that would sound a bit greedy.

Jeremy pauses for a bit, "In the general area? Not much. Most of the military facilities are already being looted by FEATHER."

"SECURED by FEATHER, not looted, Jeremy." Alleria corrects, "It's looting if they didn't belong to us in the first place."

"We could attack another Faerie queen! With a queen we could take her territory..." Vivianne offers.

"No thanks, I'm trying to avoid the fae mindset.
We could always go to FEATHER."

Sam pipes up, "We could also use the mechs to deal with Lab 3. Considering the damage we did, Dr. Krasis is probably not doing too well."

Alleria grins, "Now that is someone I'd like to get my hands on."

"We should deal with Lab 3 before they become a problem later."

"Lab 3? That'll be a tough one, but..." Jeremy looks to the mechs, "You aren't lacking for firepower."

"the creatures from that place can't be converted, so... I can't turn them into fae. Trees or something I can, but only the lab workers can turn to faeries." Vivianne admits.

"I don't NEED more faeries..."

"But my queen! How will we serve you without a court?" Vivianne's question is only met with a sigh.

Your forces move back through the path, best to encounter fae less. It takes a while to get back to the entrance of Lab 3, but eventually you do.

That's when you come to the first obstacle: It's too small for the mechs.

Jeremy and Alleria look it over.

"I think we could possibly go in as a group and leave the mechs outside..." Alleria suggests.

Sam shakes her head, "We tried that."

"You didn't have Jeremy that time."

Jeremy grins, "OR, we could simply blast open the place with explosives, leaving only the secure area. I have a few weapons that can do just that."

Vivianne huff, "Or I could just fly in and turn all the humans in there into faeries."

"Blow it up." You reply, turning away from the entryway.

"Alright, you got it! Alleria, you might want to take a few steps back."

Jeremy pulls a massive gun from his coat. the twist a few dials and knobs on it, then fires into the entryway.

There's an audible 'whumpf' noise... and then it expands. The place breaks open as an explosion breaches soil, blasting the whole place open. A massive crater is all that remains of the sections you once trekked through with the Hazard Team. leaking water trickles from the crater walls, and the looming wall of the secure wing sticks out into the crater itself.

You hear a crackle on the radio, A familiar voice is heard. "Listen, I know you're attacking the labs, but I'm innocent. I ask that you please save me from-"

"Cut the crap, Krasis. This isn't FEATHER. It's everyone you screwed over."

"Jeremy?!"

"Time to pay the piper, Krasis." The scientist cuts the radio.

The secure area, thanks to the blast, can only be accessed by the bottom. You've also blown open the transport tunnels, so your mechs can enter the larger regions of the lab, where all the viral equipment is stored. The doors are sealed though.

"Are you two up for dealing with those doors?" You ask the two scientists.

"Oh, easily." Jeremy grins.

"I thought you said you were terrible at hacking."

"That was 10 years ago. I improved."

"Yeah, we'll see..." The two fiddle with the door controls. It takes a while before Jeremy slaps a device on top. You can hear Alleria shout from here, "THAT'S CHEATING!"

The doors open, and after a brief pause, a horde of abominations and horrors stream out. Jeremy and Alleria manage to get clear, allowing your mechs to open fire. Hundred of monstrous creature were reduced to fine red mist. A speaker crackles.

"Lab 4 mechs. Interesting. Well, time for my trump card..."

A man walks out, muscular, but something seems off, "Your acts in the lab allowed me to focus on what matters. We now have a lovely super soldier, capable of ripping apart tanks."

One of your mechs fires, but it seems to have no effect... no, the shell was swatted away. The man advances towards you. You take aim... then hear a blade unsheathe.

Pisteia strides past you, blade in one hand, "This... This is mine." She's grinning. With a cry, she charges the muscular figure. They clash a bit, the blade biting into the body of the man, but seemingly doing nothing...

Until she decapitates the superhuman.

"That's not my only one, fools..." A mob of them slowly advances from the open doors. Pisteia might be able to fight a few, but considering the mechs can't damage them...

A roar fills the air. A trio of aircraft drop a series of bombs on the advancing force. You look around. Alleria is holding a flat tablet to her ear.

"What?"

The doors open, you are free to enter. Vivianne pouts, "We could have had a force of fae to fight them if you'd let me go in instead of blowing the place up..."

You order the mechs to head in first.

The war machines enter the lower entryway. You follow in after. There a variety of equipment for experimenting, empty cells, and what appears to be a kennel, but there are stairways to the upper levels. The entire structure, though, is too durable to bring down.

Besides, you suspect Jeremy and Alleria would want to deal with Dr. Krasis personally.

"Oh! Oh!" It's tight spaces! NOW can I go in and make more faeries?" Vivianne asks, eager to do something. You also have your close combat party members, however.

"Fine, Vivianne, you gan go ahead, don't get too wild with the dust though."

"YESSSSS! My queen?" Vivianne asks Alleria for the go-ahead. She frowns at you/

"Sure, go ahead. If it wasn't tactically sound, I'd say no." As soon as the confirmation was given, the faerie shot into the stairway, heedless of the rest of the sentence. You could hear screams... some changing pitch to a giggling.

Quietly, you move in. Jeremy rolls his eyes, "Surprise or not, the only thing this lab makes that's decent against fae is bioweapons, and even those are a poor matchup."

"Well, normally people don't have faeries to attack with, Jeremy!" Alleria replies, somewhat annoyed, you assume at failed FEATHER attempts.

"I'm just saying you could have probably taken this place out alone if you went."

"Jeremy..."

Sam, in the rear of your group sighs, causing Alleria to glance back, "Oh. I didn't hear or see anything boss."

"Sure. This is already way above your pay grade."

Uriel nudges the hazard soldier, "Hey, if it's any consolation, at least she has FEATHER in her mind before faeries."

Vivianne shoots from one room to the other in the hall, a growing number of faeries trailing after. Alleria groans.

"Great now I get to manage TWO organizations."

You proceed through the hallways. Resistance is paltry at best and easily dispatched.

A large room awaits ahead.

"Should the faeries breach the room?"

"Sure! Fine!" Alleria replies. Vivianne flutters up, the trailing faeries are... not typical. They still have near-formal attire, but are nowhere near as cheerful or bubbly. In fact, they look downright serious.

"Right, we need two of you to go in first, declare the coming of the queen of love and fun and rainbows."

The faeries look at each other, "That sounds really silly."

Vivianne groans, "My queen, all the new faeries are hardly faerielike."

"I don't see the problem. In you go." Alleria points to two.

"Uriel, play some music."

"What? Oh! Right!" Uriels guitar plinks out a jaunty tune as the faeries announce the queen's arrival with false gusto.

Nothing happens.

"I feel like an idiot now..." one complains.

"Oh! Tell Vivianne you're more faerielike already!" The other snickers.

You group moves in afterwards. The speakers crackle, "You... you've ruined my work and murdered my staff!"

"We killed people performing inhumae experiments, and put and end to aforementioned experiments." Alleria corrects, "What's your big reveal this time."

"Tch! Well, since you are so eager... The super soldier PLUS!" A door opens to reveal a far more muscular form than the ones outside.

There's a fizzing noise and its head is missing. Alleria holds a smoking pistol, "Is that it?"

"S-stop!"

You move through the open door. Krasis' lab is just ahead.

You enter the room. There's a gunshot.

Krasis stands there, shaking. There is no smug grin or calm demeanor, she is in a state of terror. She hold a pistol in one hand as she stands behind an overturned table.

"Stay back! I have a gun!" Dr. Krasis shouts.

"You certainly do. I'm terrified. As you know, faerie queens are devastatingly weak to small arms." Alleria takes a step forward, and is shot. She's shot again and again, her body making visible indents. Krasis' gun clicks as it runs out of ammo.

"Are you done, doctor?" Alleria resumes her form and brushes the bullets off her coat.

"No... No no no no no..." She backs away from your group, up against the wall.

"I-I never actually performed any of the experiments! I only managed things!" She stammers.

"Right, the terrifying Dr. Krasis, manipulator of Lab 3." Jeremy states, "You were rather fond of getting rid of people in your way, as well as making people prisoners in their own bodies..." A pistol spin in the mad scientist's grip. "You betrayed us, and now, really the only matter is how we're going to deal with you."

Alleria grins, "I intend to lock her up. Solitary confinement under the highest security. The best part? Nobody's going to come let her out.
Not after what she did."

"I prefer punishment fitting the crime. You know, I could probably turn her into a fish... keep her in a tank in my lab. Not enough room in the brain to think, only instinct, but she'll know what she once was. I worked for her... she loved doing similar to others."

"Of course, I know a multitude of horrors to cast her into." Clark offers.

"Perhaps make her a faerie or a tree?" Vivianne suggests, "I dunno, I don't get why she's such a big deal."

"Or you could, I dunno, just shoot her?" Uriel shrugs.

"If she's so fond of making horrors, then she can live among them. Clark?"

"Oh, delightful, I already have a lovely selection in mind for where to put her. It's a lovely little realm filled with fog. Sound travels, and the creatures there are... not quiet. She'll float aimlessly in the void, and they will be... VERY curious about her."

Jeremy sighs, "Well even if I'm not allowed the full extent of my revenge..." He shoots Krasis with something green. It sticks and sinks in.

"Wh-what was that?" The doctor shudders.

"That is a little something I whipped up to prolong your lifespan... for a long time. Also makes it so you don't need to breathe. Have fun... about as much as you put your victims through."

Clark nods and the wall behind her cracks open. Inside is a dark fog with something writhing nearby. She scrambles away from it. You stride forward and grab her coat. She squirms in your grip, but is surprisingly weak.

"Please, j-just let me go."

"I'll let you go, alright..." You shove her into the rip in reality. She screams, desperately reaching back towards you. You give her a cold glare in response. "There you go."

The crack closes. Jeremy sighs, "Bye, Vira.
So... Now what."

"FEATHER is going to secure what remains, determine if they found anything we can use for medicine."

"We want to see FEATHER, actually."

"Oh, well, you'd be welcome to do so." Alleria smiles, "I'll even give you the tour."

"Erm, my queen, what about your faeries?" Vivianne asks, "FEATHER typically doesn't get along with those..."

Jeremy sighs, "I suppose I can deal with their logistics, but you'll have to deal with the mechs, Alleria."

Alleria groans, "Fine, I'll transport the mechs, YOU transport the faeries."

Jeremy gives your group a little salute, "See you at FEATHER later. Alright fae, follow me." The faeries follow after a motion from Alleria. Vivianne stays, though.

>Jeremy and Vee have left the party

A few steps outside leads to a rather large air transport. Several other transports land and soldiers file out into the lab.

You soar over the ocean. At first you think you see a city on an island, then you realize the island is actually a massive ship. The aircraft lands in the center of a set of tall towers...

Alleria gives you a brief tour around the base. It seems this is a place you can relax for a bit.

Your party splits to look at various regions in the base. You have a good idea of where each went.

You can take your time, there are no urgent matters while you rest.

Also OP, how large a nation is Alainn? How many people are in cold storage? And what sort of equipment do they have ready for emergence?

How much does it seek to (and is able to) control? Part of a continent? Whole continent? The whole world?
What sort of autonomy does it allow to the conquered people?
How much authority do scouts actually have to forge political alliances? Will the one with FEATHER and Jeremy's workshop of crazy hold?

Is the secret weapon in working order?

Will Alainn be capable of spaceflight immediately upon emergence, or do they need to build up first?
>>
>>1860371
[I will answer everything based on what I felt can be drawn from our activity, or any aspect that won't ruin surprises in the story.

You are a member of the 13th LEGION so there are a total of 5,000 elite scouts, although they are thawed at different times. As for the population of Alainn you are looking at 24 million. All frozen.

The assets of the renegade legion, the 14th, are unknown, as they have had over 4,000 years, and have likely increased in number.

Alainn's size will be shown once a proper world map is obtained. Pre-war it covered the continent of Muir Nin... Which is roughly the size of Australia.

Alainn has yet to conquer anyone. World domination is not a goal of Alainn. They endeavor to eliminate enemies and make allies, the more allies the better.

A scout, such as the 13th legion, is considered elite. You're a trusted agent acting on behalf of the Grand General himself.

Alainn's superweapon status is currently unknown.

Alainn is capable of spaceflight post-thaw.]

You head to the training yard. During the tour, Alleria referred to it as a 'boot camp.' An odd term, but who are you to judge?

Apparently, the FEATHER soldiers are called 'marines' typically. This area is where the new ones train. As you stroll the grounds, you spot Pisteia. For once she's not wearing her armor., but a dark and tight fabric. She still towers over the men there... and is apparently wrestling. It looks like it's actually a supervised match, and not a fight... although you can see some of her past opponents... They look like they're in some pain.

She shuffles in the dirt, toppling her current foe, who hits the ground hard. She pins him to the floor briefly and after a whistle is blown, she's declared the winner.

She regards you as you approach and gives you a grin, "Ah! Ace. Care to wrestle?" You're pretty sure she could bury you, considering all that muscle on her.

"I'll pass. Pisteia... I have something to tell you."

"If it's a love confession, you'll have to wrestle me and win, Ace." She takes a clear bottle of plastic and downs some orange liquid inside, "Ah... have you tried the sports drink? It's really good."

"No... Anyway, I'm not really Ace Locke... Nor am I from Deloth."

"Nah, you're from Alainn, right?" She motions to the supervisor that she's done and leads you to some benches, "Kind of figured that. Delothians typically don't call Deloth 'our glorious nation,' they usually call it 'the fatherland.' which makes little sense 'because all they have are empresses." She plops down.

"You knew from that?"

"Um, no, I knew from Artoria when you pulled her out of that place. I get you're keeping it a secret for some reason, so I didn't say anything, but I've got ears, you know? Of course, you're a pretty good person, so I didn't think it mattered."

"Who else knows?"

"Uriel, probably doesn't know, nor would most people back home. He's been too captivated by thighs or Artoria's chest to actually listen. The girl with the same gear as you, whatever her real name is, actually gets ignored by that guy." Pisteia pauses, "Alainn is kinda mythology in Salarcul, but we believe it exists."

She gets up, "I'm going to the beach after I finish up here." She motions to the supervisor she plans to continue. Another recruit steps up. You watch for a few minutes, it's pretty entertaining.

You take a trip past the other regions of the artificial island, eventually reaching manufacturing. Artoria stands next to some assembled hover tanks.

"This is called the M4A2. It's a tank they keep remodeling to stay updated. They assemble them here." A new tank slid out as she spoke, parking next to the rest.

"The world changed here, but they are using what they had before. Unlike us, though, they kept developing. Although maybe it was luck that allowed this place to be spared." Artoria casts you a glance, "I wonder if FEATHER knows that Alainn has the means to end countries on our world..."

"Jeremy knows. I'm sure he'll tell his sister. They went there anyways."

"Yes, and you've made allies of both." Artoria tilts her head, "Although the track record of past allies of Alainn is not a good one."

"You were a terminal. You know what they did."

"I suppose I do. I hope our trust in the IRU and FEATHER isn't misguided." She blinks and shakes her head, "It's so hard to shake off my programmed bias and distrust of outsiders to the great nations. I'm sorry."

She moves on to another factory, "They seem to take resources from rubble and wrecks to process into their weapons and vehicles. This place processes too... Shame they won't let me in."

"It's probably too dangerous..." You explain.

"...true. I feel I should move on. I will go to where Pisteia is and log what findings she's made... And apologize for calling her a barbarian..." You watch the cyborg walk away. She needs some time to think on things, it seems.

You head to Research and Development. The buildings there are towering and reinforced, either to keep them from being damaged inside or outside.

Arriving within, you find Samantha, who is wearing some loose clothing. Her hair is short, giving a tomboyish appearance, "They're deeper inside."

You accompany her through the laboratories. Scientists work on technology ahead of Alainn's, although it appears experimental. Finally you arrive at a large pair of doors.

Inside, you find Jeremy and Alleria. They are doing something to an apple. Vee is leaning against the wall by the door, "Hello. They;ve been at this since breakfast."

"Now... Try another." Jeremy states. The apple warps into a lizard.

"It seems limited to organic materials. I wanted a lizard statue."

"Perhaps a wooden one?"

"Well I could turn it to stone..."

"We did that four times. Let's not." Jeremy replies. Alleria shrugs as the lizard turns into a small furred animal.

"A kitten now?"

"We passed on the kitten before..."

"Ah, right." Jeremy looks to you, "Ah! Welcome..."

"Cathal." Alleria helps.

"Cathal! We were just experimenting Alleria's control over the fae queen's abilities." Jeremy explains.

"Besides making new fae." Alleria adds.

"Yes, besides that."

Vee sighs, "I never saw these two together, so I wasn't expecting this sort of science to occur, I'm used to the professor's."
