General Rules

15 min voting period after each main post. Write-ins votes are welcomed/encouraged. Votes that are non-contradictory and add to the narrative will be considered. Think 'Rule of Cool'

Combat mechanics/skill test will be done using best three out of five rolls of 1d100, unless otherwise specified. Modifiers may come into play depending on the MC's statistics which can improve odds and vice versa as the QM sees fit. The QM will do their best to inform players of when such modifiers will come up during votes. (Example: Aim at a target at long range with a scattershot weapon will require a higher roll to make a successful hit than a normal blaster weapon).

Training with other bots and successful missions can add to your overall abilities. Strong character relationships with your comrades can also benefit the MC as it will improve battle synergy and moral (less likely to want to fall back/retreat). Of course the vice versa can come into play as well. A failed mission may have consequences but result in unforeseen outcomes (In the show, Tarantulus, Blackarachnia, & Quickstrike were supposed to secure an energon post. The Maximals interfered, resulting in the loss of the post BUT Tarantulus gained a new lair.).

Keep an eye out at your energon build up levels; too much time in robot mode outside of a structure, such as a base can cause negative impacts on your combat maneuvers/skill test, including potential loss of spark. In the event of loss of spark, pending the results of a vote, a time lapse in the narrative will happen and a new stasis pod will fall. (Roll for new character or with a high relation level, a blank protoform will descend and your allies will reignite your spark)

Last time on Beast Wars Quest
You and Rattrap investigated the energon grove and had a minor encounter of arachniods. You had to decide on whether or not to stick around and seek the source of the driods or walk back to camp with Rattrap

Hey everyone! Glad to be back and running again.

At the end of the last thread we had a tie for the closing vote so we'll resume where we left off

“Nah, lets go. I can always investigate it later.”

“Heh, music to my ears.” Rattrap leads the way back towards the outpost.

You stay close behind but keep a vigilant watch around you. You may want to keep an eye on that location from time to time. It wouldn’t be bad to know who’s bugs those were, though you’ve got a strong suspicion.

It’s approaching midafternoon by the time the two of you arrive back to your sniper’s nest. Things look quiet here as well. Now that you think about it the woods seems quieter than you would expect.

“Well thanks for the ‘romantic’ walk through the woods. Can’t say it was too unpleasant but I should get these readings back to Rhinox to go over.” Rattrap gestures towards the covered array tower, “We’ll message you if we learn anything important.”

“Right.” Well atleast with him heading out, you’ll be on your own again. In peace and quiet.

>Bring up the malfunctioning Hot Mark, maybe he can repair it

“One moment, rat. One of the Hot Marks is malfunctioning and you’re solid with tech. Think you can fix it?”

Rattrap laughs. “Is that a serious question?” He takes an exaggerated sigh. “Well if I absolutely must. It is difficult to be so exceptionally talented.”

Smug little…

“Yea, yeah, let’s get moving then while there’s still light out.”

You lead the way to your perimeter with Rattrap in tow.

“So how’d you and ol’ Chopperface manage to screw this up? It’s a hot mark; kid stuff. Is this first day on the job?”

You give him a low growl. “The damn thing shorted when I was setting it up. We were rigging them up with the Demo-charges.”

“Heh, not a bad idea, but next time leave the smart stuff to the experts. Who knows, if you ask nicely, just maybe the next time Rhinox or I scrounge up something, I’ll let you field test it.”

Not a bad offer. Still, last thing you want to do is have to suck up to the rodent.

You make it out to the location you have the jury rigged hot mark. He gives it a once over.

“Yeesh, you did a number on this thing. It’ll take a few nanoseconds. Keep an eye on things, will ya?”

>Do a quick patrol of the area; you’ll still be close to where Rattrap is

You begin circling around Rattrap, stalking back and forth as you look around to make sure no predacon’s have made any attempts into venturing into your territory.

Rattrap takes out the Syncro-laser and hums to himself as a few sparks fly from the hot mark’s internal wires.

“Sheesh, you really did a number on this one pussy cat. I’m surprised you even got them to function this well.”

“I’m not some green horn grunt. Commandoes are taught to use what we have and what we find, so long as the job gets done.”

He shakes his head, “Man, I don’t know how you and chopperface keep from blowing a processer with your single mindedness.”

You stop in place for a moment. “Well, they give us larger bots a large pair to your tiny one.”

Rattrap freezes for a moment before cracking up. “Hey! That almost sounded like a joke. Not bad, fangs. Not too bad.”

You resume your surveying the area. No distinguishable scents on the wind or unusual sounds…wait. What was that? You turn back to look into the wood. Your eyes scan an area that is heavy with tree branches. You could’ve sworn you saw one of them move. Crouching low, you focus on that area and begin to stalk forward when you hear a series of beeps.

“Oh no, no, no.” Rattrap shouts. “Hit the deck!”

You whip your head around to see Rattrap playing hot potato with the hot mark and demo-charge as it keeps beeping though the pulses sound in faster intervals.

“I though you said you knew what you were doing?”

Rattrap tosses it your way and dives for cover. You instinctively do the same, though there isn’t much cover for you as the charge lands near you. As you cover yourself, the sounds of the beeping slow down and stop.

….

Nothing. No explosion. The silence is broken by Rattraps laughter.

“Oh, man. Fangs, you should’ve seen the look on your face.”

“What the hell’s the matter with you?”

Rattrap walks back over in beast mode, “Aw whats the matter? Can’t take a joke?” His small fingers tap two buttons in sequence and the device returns to its normal state. “I told you already, you’re dealing with the best in the business. You need to learn to pull that stick out of your butt, pussy cat.”

>Smack him one.
>”I saw movement, eyes peeled rat." in a whisper

You turn around and smack Rattrap. The rat does his best to dodge it but you land your hit, its not forcefull but enough to keep him low to the ground.

“Hey! Whats the big-“

“Quiet.” You whisper, placing your paw near the rat’s mouth. “I saw movement, eyes peeled rat.”

It takes a nano second for your words to hit, but he finally stops moving as his eyes dart around. You remove your paw from his mouth.

“Aw, man. Well this is just prime. This was supposed to be a simple scan and grab.”

“Well its not so simple anymore. We need a strategy.”

Rattrap whips his head back and forth. “What or who did you see?”

You grit your teeth. “I didn’t get a good look.”

“Oh great. So we have no idea who or what’s out there. For all we know its nothing.”

“I know I saw something.”

“Let’s just fall back and regroup.” Rattrap gestures back the way you came. “We’re sitting ducks if we stay here. We can also radio back up if we need it.”

>You’re certain you saw something, investigate alone if he’s scared

“Look I know what I saw cheese eater. There’s something out there and I’m gonna check it out, crawl in a hole if you wish.”

You stay low and start to creep forward using a tree for cover. You look over to where you initially saw movement, but it’s still now.

“Hey you wanna get yourself scrapped, be my guest. I’m heading to the array. You encounter something; feel free to call if you’re not slagged.”

Rattrap uses the moment to start sneaking back. His retreat is quick atleast; advantages for being a small bot, you guess.

Spineless rodent. Figures. What I’d give for Dinobot or one of the others to be here instead. But then again, I operate well on my own.

>Try to flank it from the side (which side)
>Activate the Hot Mark and move away from it; have it double as a decoy

You decide that with Rattrap falling back and the amount of noise the two of you were making the smartest move would be to set up the Hot Mark decoy, before setting out. After you turn it on, you give it a gentle bat to the right behind a tree.

Once you’ve set up your decoy, you stalk to the right. The direct approach would make you too likely of a target and with the decoy on the opposite side; it’s the most sensible choice.

Your internal scanners haven’t picked up any signatures yet, but you can’t shake that bad feeling in the center of your gut. You think back to what Tigatron taught you; trust your beast modes instincts. Let them help you become a great force of nature than just a robot in disguise.

Navigating this area is difficult with its thick underbrush while trying to keep an eye out for the possible Predacon in the area. You manage not to make too much noise but the occasional twig snaps and you freeze to scan to make sure no one has made you yet.

So far so good, though. They haven’t found you yet, but whoever ‘they’ are have managed to elude you so far. Its annoying; the thought of being the prey instead of the predator. You need to keep your mind on your job. And that’s when you notice it, under the fallen foliage. A cyber web net.

“Slag”

Like a rabbit snare, you feel your feet come out from under you as the web lifts you up and twist you on your back. You start to struggle against it, hoping your claws might find purchase and tear the web but each time you move you feel yourself straining. The webs can drain energon.

As you keep moving around you hear a high pitch cackling laughter.

“Well, now what have I got here in my little web? Why it’s the new kitty cat.”

A set of thin golden spider legs branch out from behind a tree, too far to reach in your current state. That’s what you saw before; the legs almost looked like thin branches from afar. The other spider you were told about. Blackarachnia. Not exactly your finest moment for an introduction.

If you don’t get out of this web soon you’ll be too weak to fight back.

>Attempt to break free of the net
>Transform into robot mode while doing so

You notice that the web hasn’t completely constricted all of your movements so you start moving your claws, even your elongated fangs. With wild thrashing you manage to start cutting through the net with a small degree of difficulty.

With a series of snaps, you feel the support of that was suspending you in the air give out.

“Warpath, Transform!”

You start to transform and manage to land safely. Even in bot mode, you land on your feet.

“Hmm, I see the stories of the new Maximal are not entirely over exaggerated. Interesting.”

“Come on out, and I’ll show you first hand I’m as deadly as they say.”

You look around the tree line but don’t have sight on her. You could move, but there may be additional traps.

From what I remember of Blackarachnia she's decent at range but deadly in close quarters.

Best we put some distance between us and get out of here, she's literally got the high ground and has had an unspecified amount of time to set some traps.

>Hit a tree in such a way to cause them to crash down in a cascade, clearing the area and removing her cover.

After taking in your surroundings, inspiration and your commando training hits you. Using the terrain around you can be a game changer. You take out your Halberd and smack it repeatedly against the tree closest to you, attempting to chop it down.

You notice the spider move around from the side of her perch. “What in the world do you think you’re doing?”

You look up at her as you ready another strike of your halberd. “Bringing you down to my level.” With a flourish, you swing with all your beastial might and strike the tree again.

You hear the snapping of the tree’s trunk as it begins to crumble under its own weight and nearly hits the tree Blackarachina is perched on. She attempted to fire another web net from her abdomen but it hits the descending tree instead as it comes crashing down. Several smaller trees in between the two large trees begin to scatter and crash down themselves.

Upon missing her target, the spider scurries up the tree to avoid any protruding branches that would potentially strike her. Her fangs and eyes quiver with frustration.

“Aren’t you the clever cat, but it’ll take more than brawn to destroy Megatron and the rest of the Predacons.”

“You’re seeming to forget the number I did to the scorpion and the flying lizard.”

“Oh I’m well aware of that, though that’s not really an accomplishment. Scorpinok is a fool and Terrorsaur is an imbecile. I’m more impressed by your brutality.” She chuckles softly. “Not very…’Maximal’ of you.”

“Why don’t you come down here and I’ll give you a personal demonstration?”

While the momentum of the tree didn’t cause a full domino effect as you had hoped, it did create a bridge to where she is. But whether or not she chooses to remain there if you go on the offensive is another matter.

>Climb up the fallen tree to attack her with your Halberd

“Rattrap, come in!” you yell into your comlink.

“Hey fangs, getting lonely out there already?”

“Not so much, got some Pred activity going on.”

“Hold on there, pussy cat. I’m heading back over. Shouldn’t be too long, I didn’t manage to get too far away. How many are there?”

You do a quick look around, but from what you’ve gathered you’re just up against the spider. “Looks like just one but she’s got the drop on me. Keep an eye out for traps.”

“Oh geez, the spiders. Watch yourself out there.”

“Aw and here I thought this would be a dance for two.” Blackarachnia mocks. “Well if that’s the case, Blackarachnia Terrorize.” With that the spider transforms into her gold and black robot form. And you though Airazor had curves.

You take this as an opportunity, halberd in one hand; you leap up the side of the tree and make your way up the trunk to her position. You grip you weapon as you raise it to strike.

“By the way furball, you left this lying around.” She reaches behind her, pulling out a strand of web with something attached to it. One of you Hot Mark/Demo-charge combos. She winds up and hurls it towards you.

Well damn. You weren’t expecting that and somehow she’s managed to not trip any of your charges. But her attack while unexpected is not as strong as you expect allowing you to swing your Halberd to knock the charge away. Shifting your footing you allow yourself to use the swing’s momentum to push forward, but hitting nothing but air missing her. She’s nimble you’ll give her that, but who wants to fight a coward that runs?

The charge you batted away sticks to a nearby tree and detonates. Your hit by bit of debris but it bounces harmlessly off your robot form. The other tree begins split and come down getting can amongst the branches of the forest. There’s a small fire starting and a bit of smoke growing.

You look back to where she was at and she’s disappeared again.

>>Keep moving up the trunk you’re on, she couldn’t have gotten that far away

You storm up the trunk of the tree to reach where she was holding up. You didn’t see her move or hear anything. You can only just snarl.

“What’s the matter, legs? Afraid to sample the edge of my blade?”

“What was that advice you gave to the rodent about watching for traps?”

Aw hell. You start looking around and notice one of those small arachnoids by your feet. It jumps and latches to your leg and gives you a shock of energon. It’s not entirely damaging, but you’re noticing your leg’s servos are sparking and not responding as quickly as they would. You can hear her cackle.

“Like my new toys? It’s amazing what someone with the right skills can do with raw energon, isn’t it? I hadn’t planned on using them so early but you moving in this forest forced my hand. While they only are causing a minimal amount of damage, I’d say this has been a successful test.”

(WARNING: -5 MODIFIER TO AGILITY BASED TEST SUCH AS RUNNING, JUMPING AND DODGING)

Well that solves that mystery of what was going on in the northern grove. Plus this spider likes to talk; seems she might have a hideout near if not hidden within this forest. But how is she getting in and out without the sensor scans detecting her?

You keep looking around trying to pin point her location, but there is an echo. You have a few guesses’ as to where she might be lurking but with that last sting, you’re gonna have a hard time keeping up with her.

>Leap to another tree to the right; she might be there

You plant your feet down and try to hack away at the tree. Last time had a solid effect on the battle field, so no reason to deviate from what works. You swing a mighty swing and start hacking away against this tree. With each swing you try to scan the area, but still no sign of her.

“Hey Warpath I’m closing in on your position.” You hear cracking on your com.

“Move it Rat!”

Finally you make head way and start to bring it down. As it comes creaking down opposite your perch, you make a quick scanning of the perimeter to where she could be hiding. You don’t see her but you catch a glimps of her grapple shot. She was lurking to the northwest, but when she emerges she swings wide to the left side and right towards you with a flying kick.

No cause that 93 was a 98, so that negates a nat one. Additionally modifiers can prevent full fails

I'm not a believer of one failure negating all possible progress (say an 80, 60, a 1 and a 50. The one will more than likely mean you wont have the full effect you wanted, like auto canceling your 80. you would just have to hope what ever is left rolled, meets my target numbers)

>Take the hit like a champ. It’ll damage you but you will have her in close quarters

“Hai-ya”

You attempt to brace yourself, preparing to take the hit from her incoming attack. She’s got you dead to rights, but she’ll be up close just how you like it.

She swings in with a fierce kick but when it hits, it doesn’t land with the amount of force you expect. In fact you don’t even budge.

The two of your eyes meet for a second, look back to where her heeled feet connected and look back at each other.

“Uh-oh.” Blackarachnia meekly mutters as you grab her leg and push yourselves off the tree trunk bridge. The two of you come crashing down and but she takes the brunt of it as you land on top of her. Still you’re both in rough shape but you’ve got her pinned. She’s struggling under you but not making any progress.

“Ugh…so much for cats landing on their feet.” she wheezes sarcastically.

She's also a spy, a trickerster that could out double cross starscream and quick on her trigger finger.

She may have info but taking her back to base is actually more dangerous than leaving her here.

At least with her here, unless she wakes up or one of her "comrades" comes and gets her she's out of commision for at least a few days.

Besides, what info could we reliably gain from her? Everything out of her mouth will more than likely be a goddamn lie leading us into a trap, and I doubt a pred like her would leave her brain undefended to a probing.

>Go for a KO punch
>Take her captive

“Lights out.”

You raise yourself up from her just enough to keep to reach an arm back. She doesn’t have a moment to say anything when you clock her one to knock her out.

This is the first time you’ve gotten a real good look at your attacker. Someone clearly took some calculated ‘aesthetic’ choices with her superstructure. Shame she’s a Pred. Not that you’re a full-fledged Maximal and all but might put a damper on things. Especially seeing as she attacked you.

You get back up from with a groan, that fall did a bit more damage than you expected. Looking down on her you decide she might have some information on Predacon activities and might be a good chance to find out what she’s doing out here. Particularly since she’s been to that north grove; she may have learned something about the scans that you and Rattrap had performed. At the least, learn more about those arachnoids that she used on you. You bend down to reach for her weapon when you hear someone clear their throat.

“Am I, uh, interrupting anything?” Rattrap puts down his raised gun with a cocked eye brow.

“Shut up, Rattrap.” You pick up her grapple gun and start removing the cable. “You took your sweet time rodent.”

He puts his gun away. “Yeah well, there were a few spots that needed marking. Would’ve fully disarmed them, but I would’ve been even later to you and Legs little playdate.” He looks down at her as you tie her up. “Looks like you had everything under control though.”

“Wanna give me a hand then?”

Rattrap put up his hands, “Hey she’s your date; wouldn’t want to impose.”

Smartass rodent. “I’m taking her as a prisoner, dumbass. I trust even the Axalon has facilities for that?”

“Well, technically yea. Not that I’d want to have the spider in our base. But it’s one less Predacon trying to vape us out here.”

“Then give me a hand here.”

“Hey you’re the big bad barbarian bot. You should be able to handle her.”

“I need to get into beast mode to start repairs before the energon build up gets worse.”

He goes over to pick Blackarachnia up. “Then toss her on your back. Unless you rather keep her at your outpost till back up arrives.”

You’re low on options. What do you want to do?

That's extraordinarily morally questionable.
We could try treating her like people, avoiding torture and reprogramming though.

But we should maybe make it clear that's also fine.
>>
>>1848488
Well this could be possible, but also dangerous.

[spoilers] Its also not really a Maximal thing to do, though they could consider putting her back in statis. Also as in the show, Predacon reprogramming chips have 'shell programs' that insure that any attempts to tamper their programing will cause lost of spark. [/spoiler]

This had been brought up in the past. It would be really tricky seeing as you lack the tech expertise and seeing as you are currently working with the Maximals, you'd have to keep your efforts discreet.

If enough of a push was made, i could (and have) present possible scenario that would be more 'independent' in nature.

But as it stands you lack resources, troops and a more secure base of operations

>Transform back to beast mode and carry Blackarachnia on your back

“Warpath, beast mode.”

You transform back into your Saber-tooth Tiger form. You look over to Rattrap and gesture with your head.

“Do you mind? I don’t exactly have opposable thumbs in this form.”

“Yea, whatever.” He walks over to the bound up spider and tosses her over your back like a sack. She’s not too heavy but he could’ve been a bit gentler for your sake. Not that you would openly say that, but you did just take a rough fall.

“Beast mode” He turns back into his rat form. “So to the Axalon then?”

“We, well you were heading there anyways.” You say as you groan. “Begin internal repairs.”

The two of you start heading outwards from the forest. You’re surprised that despite your damage you can keep up with the rat. It helps that the fembot’s sizable endowments don’t add too much to her overall weight. Your patrols in these woods make it easier to navigate them to find the quickest and more discreet way to the clearing that leads to the Maximal’s ship.

As you head back your mind wanders a bit, thinking about your situation. It’s not a bad deal you have with the Maximals. They supply you with tech and you can operate without the oversight. You prefer your independence but so far the Maximals have been more then helpful when you’ve needed their assistance. But who’s to say that it’ll stay this way. They do get pushy, particularly Optimus when it comes down joining them as a full-fledged member.

“Hey watch your step, Fangs.”

You snap out of your thoughts when you take notice of a bright red marker. It looks like one of the spider’s snare traps.

“Sheesh, did you take a few blows to the head back there? You nearly walked right into that one like a newborn.”

You shake your head. You need to focus on the task at hand. “Just lost in my thoughts. Lead on since you know where these traps are set.”

“Well then just follow me and keep your distance. Don’t need some clumsy cat stepping on my tail.”

I’d do more than that rodent if you keep testing me. You breathe heavily out of your nose and resume your journey back. Periodically you look over your shoulder to see if Blackarachnia has woken up or trying anything. She looks like she’s still out cold but who knows for how much longer.

You’re not too far away from the Axalon.

As you begin your approach, you activate your ER Comlink.

“Warpath, to Axalon. Come in.”

There’s a few moments of static, but you get a response.

“Cheetor here, whats up big cat? How’d the mission go?”

“Rattrap and are coming in with a prisoner. Prepare a cell or something.”

“WHOA, you guys captured a Pred? Oh man, why didn’t you guys call for back up? I could’ve…”

Rattrap turns around and walks up to your comlink.

“Geez, kid will you quiet down and put Sentinal on stand by while we come in?”

“Oh right. One second.”

The Rat just shakes his head. “Humph. Kids. Can’t live with’em and you can’t shoot them out the airlock.”

You roll your eyes. “How about you do me a favor and check on the prisoner? Make sure she hasn’t woken up and messed with her bindings will you?”

Rattrap takes a halfhearted look over towards her backside by her legs. “Ah she’s fine.”

You just stare at him.

“What? If she was gonna do anything, I’m sure she would’ve made her move by now.”

You just pick up your pace towards the Axalon, shaking your head. You look over your shoulder a few times to check to see if her eyes had opened yet. Still closed. Maybe the rat’s right but he should be smarter about something like this.

You get on board the lowered platform to get inside. There’s barely enough room for the three of you in your current form, but you manage. Cheetor is standing up top, bright eyed as he waits for you guys to leave the lift.

“Ultra gear. Nice job guys. Here I thought you guys were just doing an energon scan.”

“Well that’s how our lovely trip started. But fang face over here wanted to make it a full adventure and playdate.”

You bite your tongue and resist the urge to smack him. Cheetor laughs clearly seeing the frustration on your face.

“Well if you want I can take her over to the lower levels if you like or would you rather.”

“You should let the kid handle it; you took some hard hits out there. Sometime in the CR chamber would do you some good.”

“You’re not volunteering?” You ask Rattrap, though you’re not surprised.

“What do I look like a packrat? Your prisoner, you do it.” He walks over to one of the monitor stations.

What do you want to do?

“I can handle her.” You say.

Cheetor nods. “I’ll call up Rhinox and Big Bot to let them know you’re here and about our guest.”

“They’re not here?”

“Rhinox is. Big Bot and Dinobot went out to investigate something in the south in Tengu sector.”

You transform into your robot form. Your internal repairs helped but you’ll still need the chamber to bring back up to 100%. Its moments like this that you wish your captive were awake. You still have to carry her down there. No rest for the wicked.

When you reach a narrow passage, you take a moment to check the bindings. So far so good, not even signs of loosening from struggling. You did clock her pretty hard or she’s a hell of an actress.

You lug around the spider woman to the lower levels. It takes a bit longer as you are careful to not pass by any ‘sensitive’ areas. No need to give a potential threat an opportunity to cause trouble.

The ‘detention area’ in the lower levels is a fairly wide open area, with a few circular spots. You set her down on one of these plates and head back to the master controls. A set of red beams come down around her as the cell forms. Prisoner secure, even if she awakens she’s stuck in here.

Now to head back up and get patched up. Hopefully you can get a half decent rest while..

“Leaving so soon?”

Aw slag. You snarl as you whip around with your Halberd to bear and see Blackarachnia still slumped on the ground.

“And here I thought we could have a little talk.”

She gives you a dirty look. “And you’ve been spending too much time with the rat.”

You approach the energy cage. She flicks one of the bars with a small shock. “Cozy, much like your little tree fort.”

Her tone gives of an air of smugness as she sees you getting that sick feeling in your gut. She knows where you’re hideout is. Worse, you couldn’t tell. There was no smell of anyone anywhere near your spot and your sensors didn’t pick her up.

“You said you wanted to talk? Then talk already.”

“The direct approach? A bit cliché. Why not chat a while or are you afraid your Maximal pals are gonna come down here and check on you?”

Your eyes narrow as she continues to her taunting.

“I guess I shouldn’t be too surprised though. A big strong bad bot like yourself seems to prefer things that way.”

“Getting bored now.” You say as you start turning away.

“Hold it. Fine, we’ll do this your way.” She says, with some of the smugness disappearing.

>”How long have you been in the forest?”

You decide it might not be such a bad idea to get some information out of her while you're down here.

"How long have you been in the forest?"

"Longer than you've been online." She says. "For my own reasons of course. A girl has to have a hobby."

You haven't been around for very long, so if she's been operating there for awhile she must have a set up somewhere.

"If you knew where I've been, why wait so long to attack?"

She cracks a smile "Oh I was curious as to what cause such a ruckus back at the Darksyde. A few of those bozo compatriots of mine set out for a defenseless little stasis pod and return to the base next to scrap."

"You didn't answer my question."

"No I didn't did I? I'm not some dunderhead who rushes into a situation without a plan." She raises on of her pincer like hand up and holds it up like she's holding something. "When I stalk my prey I wait for just the right moment to strike. Didn't count on you catching me watching."

"So you were planning to ambush me when I was vulnerable?"

"That was the original plan. Though I have to admit you surprise me. Like I said, you don't act like one of those goodie two shoe Maximals."

"Maybe cause I'm not fully Maximal. I like my independence." You cross your arms.

She adjust her stance rest her hand on her hip, sticking it out dramatically. "Is that so? Got your own ambitions then? Interesting."

"What scheme are you formulating now?"

"Oh I was just thinking about how lonely being independent can be. It would explain your little hiding hole."

"Snipers nest."

"Whatever."

"What are you suggesting then? Working together? I already have a deal with the Maximals."

"All I'm suggesting is that, if you're smarter than you look, you could have two deals. One less restrictive."

"And what do you get out of this? What's your angle?"

"Well for starters, I'm no good to you in my current situation." She gives you a wink and a smile.

Your comlink begins to crack. It's Cheetor.

"Hey Warpath, come in. Is everything alright down there?"

No we're just playing the morally grey character that doesn't give a fuck what the politics are just that the job gets done.

If blackarachnia can do that job, then we work with her, if she can't or she turns on us we put her in a fucking hearse.

End goal Meg's is put on ice, the various transformers in this shitpile of a situation get what they deserve, be it happy endings or savage fatal beatings, and we ride into the galactic sunset on a repaired spaceship going on adventures like we were fucking supposed to when we got on the damn thing back on cybertron in the first place.

If we help Blacharachnia take the Predacon throne for herself, the worst that happens, really, is that the War continues but with Megatron totaled giving the Maximals a huge edge. At best, she might be inclined to some sort of ceasefire or even a peace. We'd have to expect a betrayal, of course, but it might be a price worth paying.

>Everything is fine. Heading up shortly (Lie)

"Everything is fine Cheetor. The fight screwed up my leg, so it's taking me a bit."

"Oh ok big cat. I'll get the CR Chamber primed and ready for you."

"Appreciate it kid. Warpath out." You kind of feel guilty lying to the kid like that, but this is an intriguing possibility if the fembot is being legit.

"See what I say? The Maximals are fools. You could do so much better."

"All I did for you was give you a few clicks. Talk fast, what do I get out of this deal?"

She stands up straight, "It's simple, if you plan on playing your own game you're gonna need technology and troops. Technology is something I can provide, how do you think I've evaded the Maximals and your sensors?"

"I'm listening."

"No, not till we get back to your snipers nest."

"No deal."

"Hey, I've got my own risk here. If I get caught the Maximals will find a way around it and you lose an edge."

That's a bit of a catch 22. On one hand you could use that tech to avoid both sides scanners, perfect for covert ops. But if the Maximals have it they could get a huge boon against the preds for a while.

She continues, "As for troops I doubt either side has anyone willing to out right turn on their own group so we'll need new and...loyal recruits."

"Stasis pods."

"Precisely. Together we can coordinate and gain access to their programming before either side can. Tarantulus and I did so before with mixed results but I just happen to have a few modified reprogramming chips that should get the job done if properly done."

"Mixed results?"

Blackarachnia shakes her head, "Inferno. Nuff said."

"Listen, I'll think about it. You talk a big game, but then again you did when we fought too. I might not be the smartest bot, but sweet words and fine superstructure ain't enough."

She crosses her arms, "Think quickly. In the meantime what about me?" You give her a look. "You gonna let me out of here or not?"

"Aren't you an espionage expert? If you can't get yourself out, what good are you?"

"I can get out of this ship just fine but if you disable the internal defenses I could have an easier time without raising suspicion. In and out without their notice."

"And raise suspicion to myself?"

"Can't be blamed if you were in the CR chamber when I escape." She winks.

So, what do you say?

>Deal for now (have sentinel stand down and exit)
>agree (sent sentinel in stand by mode and exit - will activate shortly after the cell bars depower)

I'm willing to bet my bearings that the Maximals have a way of tracking who deactivates their security.

I might not be totally on their side, but I'm sure as fuck not going to screw up the good deal I've got here.

My message still stands, you get out you're worth dealing with, you don't then you weren't and I can get on with my business.

"No deal. Too much risk on my side. Think I'm foolish enough to ruin the deal I have now?"

"Tough as you are, you won't last on your own."

"Look, you want out then do it on your own. Same deal I gave Optimus. Prove yourself to me."

You turn to walk out of the room. She scowls at you, "When I get out of here and if I'm willin to work with you, you owe me."

"Show me then." You close the door behind you.

You're not to sure how to feel about that offer. The idea of your own faction was tempting but selling out the Maximals? Reprogramming pronto forms into joining you? You're not wild about the idea of forcing others under your thumb especially since you've fought so hard for your own freedom. Still if she's the goods, then she'll prove it by escaping on her own.

It doesn't take you long to get up to the command center. Cheetor turns to look over you.

"Hey there you are." He moves over to ease you into the CR Chamber. You wave him off. You're a warrior not a cripple.

"Just relax big cat, by the time you're good as new, Optimus will be back. Rhinox is going over the readings you and Rattrap brought a and can brief you in on the analysis later."

"Fine, fine. Lemme just get in before I rust."

You decide that with Sentinel’s defenses and her current predicament, the odds are already stacked against her. If you told Cheetor, he’d most likely go with either Rattrap or Rhinox. Even if the kid was foolish to go it alone, she’s in no shape to fight.

But if she’s good enough to not only escape, but do so quietly, that’s Commando material. You might just have an ally on the inside when you start taking the fight to Megatron and the Predacons. But for now, let’s see what she can do.

“Has Rhinox found out anything yet?” You say as you lean back into the machine.

Cheetor shakes his head, “Too early for anything concrete, but he did say that there’s a chance that the process to turn the raw energon into stable cubes and crystals could be replicated. But it’ll take a while to determine if it’s worth it.”

“Interesting, I look forward to hearing the rest.”

“Oh one last thing, Rhinox wanted to know if you wanted him to try upgrading your Halberd. He remembered you asked if he could implement an energon blade or something.”

Hmm, you had almost forgot about that and if you are in the CR chamber, you wont be needing it at the moment. Any upgrade you have done will take him away from his scans of the energon grove, but if Blackarachnia succeeds, she does might give you the knowledge from the grove seeing as she’s been that area for awhile.

Rhinox only has time for one if you want any

>Sure have him take a swing at it.

“Sure Cheetor, have Rhinox take swing at it.”

You hear Rattrap ‘Heehaa’ in the background.

“No problem, Warpath. Just relax and you’ll be good as new.”

With that the door comes down and you are in darkness. You rest within the CR Chamber. It’s been a long day and you could use the snooze.

The hot summer sun rains down upon your shoulders. Muscles tense, you crack the bones in your neck as you search for your next prey. Padding out towards a protruding rock you take perch upon it. The grasslands are alive this day, the herds are on the move and the water hole is ripe with life. You have your pick of the kill. You’re confident in your prowess as a hunter that nothing you bring your fangs to bear upon will escape you. After a full scan of the land, you single out a horned beast that’s broken away from its herd, grazing for more food while the rest move around. You move down into the sun dried grass and lay your body flat long the earth. Slowly you move forward to prevent from startling it. Closer and closer…

You awaken from the dream. What did Tigatron call it, residual memories of your beast mode? Still it’s not so bad this time.

You are alerted to seeing a few of the Maximals on high alert. You notice Rattrap talking with Optimus and Dinobot. Rhinox seems to be fiddling around with some

“What happened?”

“Blackarachina managed to escape.” Optimus says with a grim expression.

Huh, legs actually did it.

“Yea but it was pretty sloppy,” Rattrap adds. “She triggered the alarm when she broke out of her cell.”

Rhinox chimes in, “Sentinel did get a few stun shots on her but according to sensor logs she suddenly disappeared.”

Rattrap continues, “The kid when down there alone and the spider got the drop on him. He’s in the other CR Chamber at the moment.”
“How? She was pretty roughed up last we saw her.”

“Snagged him one of those blasted nets of hers and gave him a bite of cyber venom. Then she bolted. Fortunately I got there in time to save Cheetor he’ll only be out for repairs for a short while.”

Odd, she showed restraint. A gesture of good faith or a calculated gamble to save her own skin?

Rhinox intercedes, “I’m more concerned how she was able to evade our sensors. It’s like she was there and then she wasn’t.”

Rattrap rubs his chin. “Now that you mention it, Fangs and I had trouble finding her earlier.”

Optimus turns to you, “What do you make of it? Anything to add to help with this?”

>She did a lot of talking but nothing solid that I could believe

“She ran her mouth a lot but nothing that would help us.”

Rattrap, “Typical Pred.”

Dinobot snarls.

Optimus shakes her head. “Well that’s just Prime.”

“Anyone tracking her movements?”

Optimus shakes his head, “Well she’s still not coming up on our scanners, but we have them set to cycle through various scan frequencies. But I’m certain she’ll be well clear of them by now. Tigatron and Airazor have been put on alert and keeping a look out. Let’s hope their search comes up with something.:

Rhinox, steps up, “Well on the other side of the credit, Rattrap and Warpath did bring back some interesting readings. This could lead to some interesting research and possibilities.”

“By the way, How’s my Halberd?”

“Right this way.” Rhinox gestures towards another room. You see your weapon on a counter top but the edge seems to be smaller.

“As you can see, I had to make some slight alterations. The actual blade is a bit shorter now, but with the energon it will make up the difference.” He picks up the halberd one handed and twist the handle. A blade extends out with a shimmer.

“A few things you need to know. First the blade is sharper now so it should take fewer hits to take down whatever you’re hitting. Secondly it does draw power from your systems, you’ll be sacrificing power for endurance.”

“If I’m not using my Rifle could I transfer power to the Halberd?”

Rhinox rubs his chin, “Technically you can transfer any systems power to the blade but there is of course some risk to that.”

You nod, feeling sure enough to not over extend yourself.

INVENTORY ADDITION: ENERGON HALBERD (update to pastebin coming soon)

You head back into the command center with Rhinox, Optimus walks over. “So Warpath, you heading back to your base or willing to assist in the search for the she spider?”

Rattrap butts in, “Why bother? She’s probably half way to Pred central by now, with her condition.”

What do you say?

>Blackarachnia might be lying low, try to search for clues nearby

You look around near the base of the ship, trying to get a jist of where she exited. You recall her ability to avoid being tracked while in beast mode so it’ll make things more difficult.

You can’t find much of a trace of her being her but you get the idea that she might have veered south.

Look around the ground, you can see light tracks. While you still don’t have a definite read, you guess she must have headed either south or towards southwest.

Predacon ground. She’s most likely going for repairs. Either direction, you might be able to catch up to here if you hoof it.

>Head out south. Towards the swamp

You make your way south into the swamp territories. You vaguely remember from your scans that there are some large creatures out here. The smells out here are much more different than you are used to. Good place to lose one’s scent or mask it. But you’ll be on your guard for any threats.

You recall Optimus and Dinobot were out here earlier investigating a reading. Perhaps there’s some Predacon activity goin on here. Fitting she fled here. This is also part of Airazor’s patrol, though you wonder if she’d even be out here this late.

Keeping on your search, you stalk the forest floor looking for any sign of the arachnid. Is she headed to the Predacon base or does she have another layer out here. Would make sense, she seems the type to hedge her bets and keep her options open.

A bit of time passes and you take notice of what looks like blue webbing like she uses. But is it hers?

>Circle around the area first

Looking around for foliage you stalk around the area under cover. You’re not sure who set this up but you don’t need to fall for another trap, especially if it’s one of hers. She’ll never let you hear the end of it.

You walk around, circling the area surrounding the net. You make sure not to leave the brush but so far you don’t seem to see anything other than the web. Sniffing the air, you look for signs of anything unnatural. Nothing of note. Perhaps this is a dead end.

“Well, well if it isn’t the tabby.”

You whip your head around and then look above. She’s in her beast mode hanging from on high but she starts to lower herself.

“Didn’t expect to see you here so soon.”

“Expecting company?” you gesture to the web.

“Actually, I was looking for a late night meal. The living organisms of this planet can restore some of your internal energy if you eat them. Takes time for your internal processers to adapt but you get used to it.”

You recall the Maximals vaguely explaining this though some of them are herbivores, eating flora more so than fauna.

She takes this time to come down and transform. She still looks pretty rough, but part of her body is repaired.

“You still owe me.”

“For what?”

She puts her hands on her hips “You told me that if I could get out on my own, you’d consider my offer of aid.”

“And here I am. Talking with you.”

“No thanks to you. Now I’m damaged, in need of repair when we could formulating a plan now. I want compensation.”

You roll your eyes, “And what exactly did you have in mind?”

“One of two options.”

“And they are?” you sigh annoyed

“Aren’t you the slightest bit curious as to why I’m here in this filthy swamp instead heading directly to the base?”

“Food” you point your paw towards the net.

“Well there’s that, but I was hoping to steal something from one of Tarantulas’ lairs. He didn’t take nearly as much damage as the other two bozos so he might be around here. I could always just ask but then I’d require playing his little mind games.” She moves in closer, swaying her hips with greater movement as she approaches. “But now I have a big strong cat to play with instead. What do you say?”

“What’s option two?”

“I have plans to over throw that slag spouting saurian and while you’re powerful and I’m brilliant, we lack the numbers to remove him. He has two fanatical lieutenants and the rest will side with whoever is strongest.” She turns to gesture towards the sky. “I overheard Tarantulas rant about how another stasis pod is going to be descending in a matter of weeks. Sooner perhaps; knowing how shifty he is. He’s obsessed with getting ahold of one. If you can distract both the Maximals and Predacons long enough, I could reach it first. Tip the scales of power in our favor.”

Another stasis pod incoming? The Maximals haven’t mention of anything like this. But letting it become a Predacon, even as a potential mole could be dangerous. >Fine option one (Blackarachnia as a secret ally with improved bond bonus)

You transform into your robot mode and extend your hand.

“Fine. Option one; let’s go mess with the spider.”

Blackarachnia starts to laugh.

“My, for all that bluster you really are a Maximal deep down, aren’t you?”

You give her a dead pan stare.

“Sheesh, learn to take a joke, kitty cat.” She reaches out her pincer hand and you shake. “Then its settled. Let’s have some fun.”

The two of you retransform back into your beast modes.

“So what are we looking for?”

“A lock lens.”

“What’s it for?”

She snickers “Oh you’ll see. Trust me it’s a fun little toy. And if we have one, it’ll make things much easier in the long run. I wouldn’t recommend borrowing it though; your Maximal pals will ask questions.”

“Keeping secrets already, partner?”

“Aw, it’s no fun if I don’t make you work for them.”

“So do you have a plan?”

“A simple one. You go in see if Tarantulas is lurking in his lair. If he is draw him out and while he’s away, I’ll play.”

“And if he’s not there?”

“All the easier for us to grab what we need. Just keep an eye out for any traps.”

Great. More traps. Whats with spider’s and their traps?

The two of you are a ways away from the spider’s lair. You figure this is an opportunity to get

“So I have a few questions before we start.”

She sighs, “Can’t say I’m surprised. Go ahead, but make them quick.”

“Wouldn’t it be better in the long run if I just scrap Tarantulas now?”

She rubs her pedipalp together. “Ordinarily I would say yes, but with him vaped, all of his task would be handed off to me. Wouldn’t give me much time to play so where’s the fun in that? Also, of course there’s the fact that they may retaliate against you, if they learn it was you and you’re no good to me dead.”

Didn’t know she cared. Of course, it’s probably more of a means to an end way.

“How do you avoid detection so easily? That might prove useful in our current situation.”

“Oh it is. For me. It’s a modification of my experimental signature dampener. Keeps me impervious to sensor scans and most beast mode senses. But there’s a catch. It only works while I’m beast mode and it doesn’t make me invisible.”

Makes sense, that’s how I was able to notice her.

“So are we done? Let’s get a move on shall we? I’m not exactly fond of the scenery.”

Don’t know what she’s talking about. View was good from where I was standing when she was in robot mode. That reminds me.

You take a few steps forward, just out of normal reach of her. “One last thing: What’s the deal with the high heels?”

Nine eyes just stare straight at you as her body relaxes from its tense posture a bit ago. “You’re joking.”

“Just figure it couldn’t hurt to know the bot you’re working with. I’d share, but there isn’t much to say, save from some memory glitches.”

Judging from her movements it seems like she’s considering you question. “Tell you what, you be a good kitty and make sure this goes off without a hitch, and we’ll discuss the finer details somewhere less humid.” She runs one of her forward legs down your back. It sends a chill down your spine.

“Now get going already.”

She starts climbing up a vine to remain hidden as you start advancing towards the front of Tarantulas lair.

How do you want to approach this?

Calm down fellas, rather not sleep with the literal black widow.

We'll let the birddog have that dubious honor.

Also I don't think she's helping with the fighting on this op, and roaring like a maniac won't get Tarantulus out in the open, neither would charging in.

We want the spider on the outside or incapacitated we're going to have to flush him out.

Black Arachnia's actually a decent person deep down.

Silverbolt is, well, basically the knight in shining armor. Like literally he's the guy who's ready and willing to throw down to protect the weak and innocent and all that shit.

The main thing is he /romanced/ the widow, not just jumped in bed at the first chance of a fun night.

And he was patient as fuck with it too, on more than one occasion she actually tried to kill him, or at least leave him for dead.

With us there'd be even less hesitation and she'd be using the sex to try and worm her way into our head so she could use us later.

Remember this girl is ready and willing to use her body to get what she wants, just ask Quickstrike, or Tarantulus even.

Silverbolt managed to make himself so valuable to her that looking out for number 1 included making sure he stayed alive with her, I just don't see Warpath (or at least as we play him) getting to that stage.

>Nothing like the direct approach, stealth inside while checking for traps

You creep inside your beast mode and take a whiff of the air. Its stale and reeks of something. There’s only a low hum emanating from the hallway, but no other sounds. You advance inside.

There are low lights along the ceiling and wires along the walls and floor. You keep moving to find where the cables lead but part way through, your foot gets caught in some of the cables.

“By the inferno.” You snarl and try to tug yourself free. After a bit of frustration and further tangling, you slash the cables to free yourself. Sparks start to fly and you back pedal way as you take notice of lights going dark. Better move quickly.

As you head deeper, you assume you’re paw must have tripped a beam wire and an energy web pops up in front of you, snaring you. You start to hear an alarm. You can already feel the webbing starting to drain your energy levels.

Despite the alarm’s sound, there’s no sight of Tarantulas. But you fear that the alarm will probably have sent a signal to him by now. What do you do?

You struggle against your bindings. You let your inner bestial ferocity take over and with a surge of strength you pull your head and one of your paws free. In flurry of fangs and claws you make quick work of these bindings.

Without thinking you charge in deeper into the cavern. A few more webs activate but you’re ready for them and make quick work as you finally reach the main room of Tarantulas lair.

No sign of him, but you notice a series of computers and terminals. There are counters and make shift cubbies with an array of items within.

With no perceived threat within this chamber, you feel the primal fury of your beast mode subsiding. You’re breathing heavily. It seems that the webs took a bit of a toll but not nearly as bad had you not gone feral.

You start adjusting your comlink switching away from your Maximal frequency. Last thing you need is to give yourself away.

“Warpath to Blackarachnia, come in.”

Static.

You repeat the call, trying another channel.

“Blackarachnia here.”

“Chamber is clear but I tripped an alarm. Any sign of Tarantulas?”

There’s a short pause. You start looking around for this lens. She didn’t give you an actual description but how hard can it be to find it.

“No sign of creepy yet. But we need to hurry. I’m coming in.”

“Roger that.”

You start looking around the shelves. There’s all matter of tech around here, vials filled with various fluid and odd looking devices. As you look over by one of the cubicals, you find a glass looking half sphere. This might be it.

Only a few clicks pass before you see the she spider scuttle inside from the sealing.

“Blackarachnia, Terrorize” She transforms and head over towards one of the consoles, pressing a series of buttons. The alarm goes off. “We don’t have much time. Start looking if you haven’t already.”

“This it?” You show her the item.

She moves over to your location and snatches it from your hands. “Yes! Perfect. Still in working condition.” Blackarachnia places it in her back compartment. “We need to bolt. He’ll know I had something to do with it but I can worry about that.”

You look around here. “That won’t put you at risk?”

“Aw you worried?”

“Figure its smarter to cover our tracks.” And you take out your Halberd.

She smiles wickedly. “Well if that’s how you want to play it…Be my guess. I’d start with his consoles.”

“Anything else you want?”

“Not at this time. This will tied me over for now. Have fun though.”

“You’re leaving?”

“Of course, can’t be seen together now can we?” She approaches you and runs the tip of her pincer hand across your chest. She moves her face in close, but snickers and backs away. Blackarachnia transforms back into her spider form. “See you in a day or so. Still need to get repaired.” And she scurries down the entrance.

>Start smashing consoles

You start swinging your halberd and thrusting into Tarantulas side console. It appears to be the device that powers the web traps within the lair. You get a great deal of satisfaction doing so after having blundered into one earlier.

Next up is the main console. It has nine screens attached to it, each with a variety of displays, tech read outs and coordinates. One seems to stick out.

STASIS POD DESCENT TIME ESTIMATED….NINE DAYS

ESTIMATE LANDING ZONE….GRID DELTA

You give it a few once overs as you smash each screen one by one. You kick over the chair in front of whats left of the key board. With a bit of frustration from earlier you slice off one of the arm rest and the oppose leg. Hey if you’re gonna screw around with someone else’s stuff, might as well go the full nine.

Satisfied with your handy work, you transform back into beast mode and book it down the corridor. You look out the sides as you head out. No one insight, not Blackarachnia or Tarantulas. You take this as a fortuitous sign and head back towards the forest grounds.

As you move out of the swamp lands, you decide now would be a good time to radio the Maximals.

“Warpath to Axalon.”

“Optimus here. Is everything alright? We’ve been trying to signal you for an update on your situation.”

Hmmm, well this was obviously a black op, let's keep the details to ourselves.

>Tell them about your impomtu mission on tarantulas lair (omitting obvious details)

We came, we saw, we smashed shit out of spite. Simple enough.

Now as for the pod...

Ergh.

We need to tell them. If Tarantulus found it there's a good chance that Meg's knows about it too (the man was good on keeping track of his subordinates' bullshit).

I'd rather the Maximals get it than the Preds do.

Same with blackarachnia, there's a chance that Meg's in monitoring her.

But she has a point, if we're going to be a legitimate side in this war then we need more than one soldier and spy alliance of convenience.

>Inform them about the stasis pod, but send a coded signal with the coordinates to Blackarachnia as well; will gain you bonus points in the future)

If she can get there first then we'll make a soldier for our side, but if the Maximals get there first then well the side full of folks who aren't raging cunts gets another fighter.

Either way, we win.

You can choose to do that. You'll definitely earn bonus points with blackarachnia that way cause they'll no longer suspect that she has a base in the area (pending a roll result)

The thing is if we tell both of them, then both parties could show up at the same time. And if we get caught interacting with her or have to fight her, that could end poorly for us. I don't want to really lie to the maximal since they have been honest and upfront with us so far.

I say we keep this hidden for now, and use the excuse that we are worried the predicons may be listening in on our com chatter. Inform black arachnia next time we see her and get to know what exactly she plans to do with the proto transformer and make sure shes not putting in any secret coding or shell programs. After that we decide how and who we inform, since we have 9 days to decide.

Honestly, the Maximals allowed us to be our own thing, and we're not planning a mindwipe/reformat on the poor protoform within. We just need to be around to ensure this new protoform gets their own choice, whatever it may be, and avoid them become a mind-dulled Predacon lackey.

“Everything is fine, Optimus. Though I have something to report.”

Optimus tone changes. “What happened? Did you find Blackarachnia?”

You hesitate for a moment. “Well I found a one of the spider’s lairs, in the swamp lands.”

“Did you encounter any threats?”

“Just some traps but no sign of any Predacons. Did stumble upon an interesting bit of information I thought you’d be interested in hearing.”

“What is it?”

“One of the monitors had an ETA on a potential stasis pod drop. Sector Delta in roughly a deca-cycle.”

“Good work, Warpath. Glad to hear it. We’ll start planning a strategy for retrieval in the meantime.” You can hear the genuine gratitude in his voice.

“Will you require me to continue searching for the she spider?”

“No need. She’s probably long gone by now. Airazor and Tigatron didn’t pick her up either. Feel free to head back to your outpost unless you are need of repairs.”

“I’m good.” You suffered a bit of energon drain but you didn’t suffer any noteworthy damage tonight. Nothing a good night’s rest will heal.

“We’ll contact you once we’ve come up with a strategy about the stasis pod. We may need you to run interference on the Predacons.”

Woah, woah, woah. That’s starting to sound like orders. How do you respond?

>”You can let me in on your plans, but whether or not I go with them is my decision.”

>”You can let me in on your plans, but whether or not I go with them is my decision.”

“This is serious, Warpath. If what you say is true and we don’t get there first, we risk losing one of our Maximal crewmates and losing a strategic advantage. With you, Maximal or not, we’d have Megatron outnumbered and on the defensive.”

He’s got a point, but you fought for your right to act on your own.

“Ally, not boss. I’m willing to work with you Primal, but I won our fight. You want to give me orders, beat me in the ring.”

Optimus sighs annoyed. “Ugh, Warpath, this isn’t necessary. You’ve been helping us this whole time. As far as I’m concerned, you’re a Maximal. Besides, I didn’t think you were one to shy away from a fight with the Predacons. Why not do so in a matter that’ll aid us?”

“Look I’m always ready to shred some Pred, but when I want to. As I said, give me a call when you know what you’re gonna do but in the meantime, I’ve got my own work to do. Warpath over and out.”

You don’t dislike Optimus. On the contrary he’s a strong fighter and a capable leader. But you’re your own bot.
So its getting pretty late. What would you like to do?

>Late night patrol of your forest

You’ve been gone from your woodland home for a while and while the last bot you encounter you discovered turned out to be a ‘blessing’ in disguise, the last thing you want is another visitor looking for trouble. Of course without finding Tarantulas at home, it makes you wonder where he went off to and you are aching for a fight.

You start your patrol off of the southern territories. You pass by the area where you and Blackarachnia had your battle. The fire from the explosive had petered out but the fallen tree trunks and braches have made an interesting formation that almost acts like a natural barrier. You get the idea that fliers would have a rough time of it in here and with those makeshift bridges you’ll be able to attack them easier.

Moving past the area, you almost wandered straight into one of Rattraps markers. Thank the Matrix that the she spider wasn’t here, if she discovered you fell into one of her own traps after you made your alliance, you’re certain she’d never let you hear the end of it and worse lose credibility with her. You might consider asking her to either remove them later or redistribute them so you can use them to your advantage.

You continue towards the western ridge of the forest, the side facing Predacon ground but so far nothing. Your own traps haven’t been triggered and everything appears quiet.

You’ve been aching for a fight for some time and now you feel it’s time to bring the fight to the enemy. And what better place than on the Predacons home turf. Might be nice to pay them a visit just to remind them you’re around.

You make your way in darkness into their territory. You’re not sure where exactly the Preds might be or the exact location of their base is, but you figure areas that lack vegetation were a safe bet.

As you approach the wastelands you start sniffing the air for anyone in the area. So far no strong scents but you can tell there are unnatural smells around. Someone was out here or someone’s not too long ago. You advance forward into the area, but don’t see anyone or anything.

The rocky formation all around you make this area easy to get lost in and perfect for ambushes. Makes you uneasy. Still you can handle whatever comes your way, though that’s about to be put to the test.

You start hearing a familiar series of clicking. Moving around you try to conceal your position to take a quick look.

“Well, well, well. Look who we have here. Looks like it’s my lucky day. Payback time!”

Scorponok. Looks like the shell head is fully repaired. It’ll be fun to…

“Hi-yah! For the glory of the Royalty!”

Ah crap.

>Rush out and attack Scorponok in beast mode (déjà vu – may trigger fear in Scorponok)

A good defense is a strong offense but if you can shrink their numbers that’ll always help. You lunge with fangs and claws unfurled. The scorpion seems surprised with an expression of terror from last time you did the same.

Before your claws can connect though, you hear the sounds of cannon fire and are struck in the side. You take a strong hit directly and are sent flying left into a low level box canyon.

“Hahahahaha! Prepare to burn Maximal!” The flying ant screams like a lunatic.

“D-did you really think that was gonna work a second time, flea bag?” Scorponok says. He’s trying to sound confident but you can hear the relief in his voice. “Well done Inferno. Now let’s finish him”

You’re feeling pretty dazed after that hit. Maybe this wasn’t such a good idea. But you can take these fools. Right?

What should you do? Scorponok is still closer so there’s an melee attack penalty against Inferno due to him still flying.

“Warpath, Transform!”

The Preds got you cornered and things aren’t looking good. You need to get out of this situation otherwise you’re going to get scrapped.

“Die Maximal!” Scorponok cries out as he aims with his claw missile launchers.

“Don’t call me Maximal bug!” You swing back with your fist and the fangs move into place. You swing with a mighty uppercut that cuts into Scorponok’s chest and sends him flying back. His missile flies harmlessly into the air.

“Burn Maximal, Burn in the fires of Inferno!” The ant still in the air, cocks his cannon and it changes into a flamethrower. You’re still inside the rocky alcove and your circuits are getting cooked. The smell of burning fur fills your filters and smoke blocks your receptors. You need to get out of this predicament otherwise you’re toast. Literally.

>Pick up Scorponok and attempt to throw him at inferno

Your situation is desperate. Desperate times call for desperate measures. Or improvisation.

Foolishly, Inferno believes he has you dead to rights. So much so, he enters one of his laughing fits long enough to wave his gun away from you and into the air like a mad man. This guy was a Maximal protoform before?

You power through the flames on your own form and grab the fallen Scorponok who’s still dazed from your hit. You grab his legs and swing him around, sending him flying towards his comrade with a scream. The ant has no time to react and with the hit, the two are sent into an erratic flight spiral.

They continue to scream as they crash along the wall on the opposite side of the canyon walls. You even hear a sound of an explosion and smoke rising. Must have smashed the ant’s engine gyro.

This fight has taken a bit out of you, but you’re still mostly functional.

What do you do now?

Scorponoks an idiot completely and totally loyal to Megatron, Inferno is psychotic and also completely loyal.

Either or both of them kicking the bucket is only a good thing for us, or hell just getting them out of the game for a while will be enough to put Barney on the backfoot.

That being said we need to see if they are actually down for the count or if they still have some fight left in them. Inferno is /remarkably/ resilient to damage.

You climb up the canyon cliff side to get to them. Just have to follow the smoke. You draw your halberd and decide now is a great time to field test that energon blade. The shimmering glow erupts from the blade with a low hum to match. It echoes slightly as you look over your prey.

Moving up closer you can see that Scorponok is out cold but Inferno is still laughing like a lunatic. He raises up his gun to take a shot at you but to little effect. Damn ant’s resilient. Let’s see how he likes your new toy.

“Eat slag!” You jump down a reaping strike. Scorponok who’s completely out of it, takes a nasty slice thought his upper torso that cuts his tail off with almost no resistance or difficulty. You slice all the way through to the ant’s neck with a vicious slice, sending it flying back, his head still screaming.

You look them over. Neither of them is completely done in. Pity, but you’re certain you won’t be seeing Scorponok anytime soon. Well atleast now you can claim your prize, though deep down you know that the real prize is the face of terror that the purple dinosaur will have on his face when his troops bring back these chumps.

So what should you take?

If possible, rip out their sparks and take them with us. No way they will be coming back anytime soon without it, and we don't have to feel bad about ending any cannon characters permanently.

Cyberbees are a multi purpose tool of Scorponok that he mainly uses as drones for reconnaissance and on one occasion used it to implant a virus into Optimus that was intended on turning him into a coward, but turned him into a berserker.

They passed their thresh hold for stasis lock and no critical hit.
>>
for the record, scorponok barely passed
>>
>>1854616
so? is there a reason we cant just start stabbing their downed body's until there's nothing left?
>>
>>1854620
this.

Or use the fire gun and slag them..
>>
>>1854620
You can, but stasis lock prevents loss of spark. So eventually they'll be back. Just not anytime soon.

Hell do you know how many times Waspinator has been diced to pieces and came back?
>>
>>1854624
can we render down the outside body part the spark is held in and take that? Just reduce the mass for easier carrying.
>>
>>1854626
I'll think about it

But right now, I need to get to bed, work in the morning.
