Despite your attempts to convince your mother that you were, in fact, a clumsy oaf that simply fell and hit a door did nothing to aid your case on why your nose was bleeding so profusely. The dorky face you made didn’t help either. You settled with just trying to convince her not to call the hospital at the time. Your dad didn’t seem like he was fooled by the door lie at all, but he didn’t push it.

Probably because he knew better than to try and interrupt one of your mom’s… scenes.

Thankfully the bleeding stopped, but your family was still worried about you. Well your father seems more suspicious that you are hiding something, your sister Emily was more of just interested in what was wrong with your nose, but your mother more than made up for the whole family with her fretting. To be fair, you were kind of worried too. You might not been that much into book smarts, but you could put 2 and 2 together. Your power somehow caused this, and from your experience you can do it unconsciously, so it might be best to get them under control before you have a serious aneurysm by accident.

You were able to get your mother off your back by claiming you needed rest, to be honest the blood loss made you a bit light headed anyway, and you were able to get off scot free this time. A good rest was definitely what you needed.

You being able to roll out of bed as the sunlight shined into your room was an indication that it was Saturday. If your mom hadn’t bothered to wake you up to get your ass to work, it was usually the weekend. Still half asleep you mentally push some dirty clothes away from your face.

So it wasn’t a dream, that’s nice. Getting your sorry ass off the floor you stretch a bit. Seeing as you don’t have to work today you might be able to test more things with your powers…

Pushing yourself off the your floor you sift through your mess to find something semi-clean to wear before giving up. You were gonna go to the town junk yard, not like you need to wear something clean for that. Anything that was would probably just get filthy there anyway.

You tread lightly down the stairs, reaching the front door you slip on your shoes before opening the door. “Headed out!” you yell and slam the door behind you before anyone could object or question you. You had your phone if they needed you. Your pace was brisk and with purpose towards the towns dump. It was about a 20 minute walk, but it seemed more like an hour with how anxious you were. You may have accidentally exerted some of your power on the way there, but anything that did happen could be written off as happenstance.

Reaching the junk yard you walk through the gates of the place. Guess your old pal working here was out for now, but he really didn’t care if you messed around with the stuff here. You both did the same as kids. Finding a secluded place amongst totaled cars and piles of garbage and old junk you realize you didn’t really have any plan or idea one what to practice or do with your powers.

You know you could potential control multiple things at one, just like you attempted earlier with those Lego, but you probably shouldn’t try and control as much as you were when you attempted it. Picking up a rock and some other tiny scrap you hold them in the palm of your hand, before levitating the both of them.

Easy enough, you next you begin to attempt to move them in different directions, mirrored at first. Once you have gained a handle you begin to move them in random different directions. It seemed like you may have faltered with it for a moment, but you slowly began to get the hang of it, until it was like there were two flies flying around aimlessly in front of you.

You could practically feel yourself getting better at this, you were on a roll and could probably improve this even faster if you added more to it…

You find a steering wheel, which is far bigger than the scraps you were using. After adjusting to the weight difference, it was honestly took a fair bit of focus just to hold the thing steady. You began to orbit the two scraps around the steering wheel, slowly at first but gradually picking up speed as you confirmed you wouldn’t give yourself an aneurysm. Soon enough you were easily able to control them independently, swirling the scraps in and out of the steering wheel’s holes all the while rotating the wheel itself. It was like one of those moving planet dioramas. Hell if you got enough practice at it you could probably make yourself a actual moving planet dioramas. Might actually be good practice too, especially if you threw in the planet’s moons as well, hell you could probably use sand for an asteroid belt…

You laugh at yourself internally. Look at yourself, getting all excited about planets and junk. You had far more interesting things to focus on. Putting that plan on the back burner you redouble your efforts, adding more to the makeshift... spinning… thing you were working on. After about 2 extra pieces of junk your focus is jumbled when you hear the sound of someone rummaging through the junk. The objects you were controlling fell to the ground and you quickly turned to see if anyone had seen you.

Who the hell would be here this time of day?

You copy those stealth video games you saw lets plays of and lower yourself to the ground. Carefully you approach the sound of the rummaging, watching each step as to not step on anything or kick something that would make a noise. Reaching your destination you peek out from behind a pile of totaled cars to find some kind of animal digging through the trash.

You think it was a raccoon or something.

Try to find out if powers extend to mind control
>>
>>1833099
You were a psychic right? Maybe you could control others.

The ease of that thought disturbed you somewhat once its actual weight had fully impacted upon you. Could you control people? Did you have any right to? Sure they were simply cogs, but even then… Would it justify putting the cogs into a different machine? Would that make you no better than the system you refuse to be a part of? To simply overwrite someone just for your own gain…

Well it is just an animal, and you might not even be able to do it. No matter how conv-

Stopping that line of thought you focus on the task at hand. You don’t really know how it would work exactly, if it would even work. So far you have only been able to move things with your mind, nothing with reading others minds or pushing influence on them. You need to know.

So how do you go about this? Just… you mentally reach out to the raccoons head. Maybe try and put your telekinesis into its brain? The effect causes the creatures to spasm a bit and squeal in pain. Is it working? Should you stop?

>Keep going
>Stop
>>
>>1833157
>Keep going
>>
>>1833157
Ignoring the whining and the spasms of the raccoon you continue your mental assault on its mind. It probably is just resisting. Stop resisting little guy, just let it happen and you’ll stop as soon as its over. The creature doesn’t stop, but you are nowhere near done, you just need too…

The raccoon stops moving. The whining stops. A dread settles into your mind, you try doing another jolt of your power but it doesn’t respond. You notice that some blood is coming from its ears and nose.

Oh God… oh God, oh God! Oh God! Shit! Fuck!

You dash to the creature, forgoing your mental might to see what is wrong. Its not moving and the blood flows like a faucet, did you just?

“No, nononononoNO!” it doesn’t look like its breathing. What did you do? What do you do? Its dead. You fucking killed it, fucking shit you killed it. Why did you kill it, god damn it. You couldn’t bring yourself to touch it. Fucking shit what do you do? You feel sick, you killed the thing. Shit, why did you have to kill the thing?

It took some effort to stop the bile from rising past your throat and after a bit you calmed down a bit. Looking around it seems your panic had an effect on your surroundings. Everything besides the target of your focus was tossed away. Some more haphazardly than others, looks like your powers weren’t strong enough to toss around larger things easily yet. Heavier objects barely moved, but they definitely did move if the trails in the dirt were any indication.

Despite yourself your eyes are drawn back to the raccoon. What do you do? Should you bury it? It’s not like it’s a person or something…

>Write in

>>1833385
Despite your dismay at the turn of events, you resort to using your powers to dig a grave for the poor thing. It’s a struggle with how shaken you are about the whole thing, so the grave is fairly shallow, but its enough, probably. You can’t even focus enough to lift a heavy object to hide the makeshift burial, but you settle on some car door. You had to use your own body to help you power to lift it. Letting it rest on the recently deceased animal.

Unfortunately you didn’t really think you’d be able to focus enough to practice or experiment with your ability, so you trudged home. The walk feeling far longer than its actual length.

You reach home a little before dinner. Your parents asked where you wondered off too, but you were able to give them your typical nothing answer of ‘just wandering on the path of life’ and they bought it. Sometimes you were glad you were just a layabou- you mean philosopher! You didn’t just do nothing, you contemplated the universe and what it was to be! Regardless your parents gave up on getting a straight answer from you. Your sister Emily was asking you if you had any more nose bleeds. She wanted to be a doctor and she apparently didn’t believe your ‘fell into a door’ story at all. Apparently your nose didn’t look fractured at all, especially for the amount of blood there was, so she firmly believed something was wrong.

Thankfully she hasn’t really dug more into it, or told your parents. You assume it’s some kind of patient confidentiality, or it’s because she just doesn’t have enough to bust your ass on anything yet. Regardless she keeps bothering you to inspect your nose.

“Come on Fredrick, you need to let me take a look!” she has been pleading like this for the past hour, the only thing keeping you from punting her is the fact that she is your little sister. “I’m worried that its something serious…”

“Yeah yeah, whatever, I will, don’t worry about it.” You attempt to dismiss her worries.

Emily doesn’t seem satisfied with that answer but lets it go, for now. Not like she really has anything that she can pin on you yet. As long as you don’t get anymore nose bleeds or at least hide them well enough you should be fine.

“You better…” she grumbles to herself more than anything.

Opening your old craptop you got from some flea market you began your search for online information about your abilities. You found a few sources that for all you know were probably fake, but found some lists of things to try. So far from what you’ve attempted it seems you have telekinesis at the very least, you aren’t sure if you have other abilities that the sites mention, at least not… mind control. You probably shouldn’t think about that.

There were several things you found such as teleportation, aura reading, precognition, healing, and several other things. That’s not even the some of the things that you could conceptually do with your telekinesis. This might be interesting...

>Write in Psychic/Telekinetic ability to attempt

>Attempt precognition by rolling some dice while closing your eyes and concentrating.

Precognition can be pretty damn useful
>>
>>1837109
You dig through your closet finding an old Monopoly board game, the contents of the box are strewn everywhere inside but you are able to find what you are looking for, a six sided die. So what how exactly were you supposed to do this just close your eyes and focus? Closing your eyes you think about this dice in your palm you try and think of nothing but that dice and what it will be, what it will roll. You think it will be a… 4!

Opening your eyes you find it to be a 2. Shit.

Trying again you think of the numbers and rolling it and it will be… 3!

The dice rolls a 4.

For fucks sake…

Wait your first prediction was a 4, maybe that was a prediction for this roll and not your first?

Rolling again with baited breath you wait to see if you get a 3.

And promptly roll a 6, whelp that’s one theory out the window. Though it probably would be better to try it on something that isn’t a simple 1 in 6 chance, hell even if you could use precognition you might affect the dice with your telekinesis.

Whelp back to the drawing board…

Tossing the die into the air you catch it with your telekinesis. You visualize the die into the palm of your hand. The first attempt just drags the die down to your palm. The second attempt is very much the same as the first. You try to imagine it just appearing in your hand yet not moving, which doesn’t seem to have much of an effect, it still just floats to your hand.

You attempt to use part of your power to hold the dice firmly in place, and with great effort try force it to your hand without it moving the die through the air. It holds firmly in place but it seems like its trying to struggle its way down to your hand. After a solid minute you hear a knock on your door causing you to lose your focus and the dice sling shooting right into your palm causing you to yelp in pain.

“Fredrick its time for dinner!” you hear your sister through the door.

“Coming!” before you leave you take one last good look at your room and get an idea. Taking a mental note of the mess you head down to dinner. You ignore most of the idle conversation and focus on eating your food and focusing on your real task. You wanted to see if you could clean your room while eating dinner. While you were casually eating your meal you focused on moving things in your room upstairs.

The meal finished and some minor questioning from your mother if you had any nosebleeds sated you returned to your room to find it organized. Probably the most organized it has ever been since you stepped foot in this room. You honestly didn’t think it would work that well. Well it’s not like your complaining. After a few hours of playing around with some dice using your powers you head off to sleep, thankfully not having to work on Sunday either…

Can you post in the quest thread general when you're running?
>>

If we're practicing precognition, we should NOT use dice, because our telekinesis could just be fudging with the roll and we wouldn't know. It's great for developing a passive "luck aura" that uses microtelekinesis to manipulate chaotic systems in our vicinity to our benefit, but if we want to develop ACTUAL precognition, we need to start practicing trying to predict random events that occur entirely outside our TK range.
Training for "seer/divination" type precog(Predicting what will occur in the future): Start watching a live stream of a guy playing an RPG, and try to predict events that are governed by the RNG.Don't use the chat, or even login to your account.
Training for "spidey-sense" type precog (predicting and/or reflexively taking action that will result in favorable future events): Go to random.org, pick a number, and practice getting a gut instinct for when to press "Roll" to get that number. Try to see how many times you can get that number in a row. Pick a different number, repeat.
