Kneeling beside your shattered bed, you think out your message to Minerva, your lips moving in time as you unintentionally speak out the past week’s endeavours to your Goddess. You know that she isn’t very active now as she receded below the horizon a solid two hours previous, but she will hear you. She will know. All she has ever asked from you is communication and respect - so keeping her in the loop is the least you can do. At least until more Darnites need killing. The slight pangs of attention you always feel when you are praying recedes before you finish and with a start you realize it has been much longer than you believed; it’s been almost an hour since you came into your own room. Well, it must be as you can feel someone else in the room with you which could only be - “Hona. What’s happening?” “Lexington did not come to take his turn driving.” She says simply, “Vhy vere you praying?”“I haven’t prayed in a while.” Standing up and dusting off the knees of your outfit you have to roll your neck to get some stiffness out of it, “Did you knock the door?”You thought it had be best to check she hadn't forgotten such a simple thing, but her look tells you she doesn’t appreciate the implication of stupidity. “I had to check.”> Enter Lex’s room> Take Lex’s shift driving> Wake up Luc so he can drive> Write-In Shill stuff:Tw: @StarbornQDiscord Invite: https://discord.gg/USPFgKa Discord Commands: !!join [@StarbornQuest][@CabinQuest] [@WCNQuest] [@LastStandQuest]Lewd Pastebin: http://pastebin.com/u/StarbornOPStarborn Thread 0: https://yuki.la/qst/486356Starborn Archive: http://suptg.thisisnotatrueending.com/qstarchive.html?tags=StarbornStarborn CS: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1csg7vC-Yz10aAqk9ZwdCNv24obLGTtM5p6bKkPq1Pgc/edit#

More than that, he’d been avoiding everyone for a while regardless.Moving towards his room, you knock on the door. But nobody answers. Knocking again a second time yields the same result. Aside from Hona’s intake of breath there’s total silence throughout the cabin, so you decide to enter the room. The room is dark and you swear you can almost feel the smoke of cigarettes left smothered rubbing against your skin, but despite the darkness and the cramped quarters, the first thing you notice is Lex lying on his bed. He doesn’t look all too healthy, and the fact that he hasn’t changed out of his clothes seems unlike him. Picturing every warped little etching and detail, you suddenly find yourself propelled through it.Soon you’re standing back in that endless graveyard with the dank frigid air. Looking around, the air feels different - as if it were alive and thriving. As more of the world seems to form around you, you begin running up the hill as some kind of danger sense warns you that not everything is as it seems. The Mausoleum on the hill. That’s where everything will be answered, but as you push yourself into a sprint you begin to see signs of discord. Scorch marks paint the ground in long streaks, like ominous guides to your destination. The gravestones by your side are chipped, shattered or melted and the formerly dead lifeless air is taking a fiery taste in your mouth. If you didn’t like fire you’d probably be uncomfortable, but when you skid to a halt on top of the hill you’re in your atmosphere. But you see Lexington clutching his spear to stay upright and locking his glowing eyes away from you. Teeth gritted in exertion as he defends the mausoleum and it’s glittering interweaving chains. With eerily silent flaps, the gigantic wings of the dragon move up and down; holding it’s frame in place as it’s ancient eyes look at Lexington’s resistance with a mix of fury, disgust and dismissal. You can feel something going on between them in the very core of your body, but this is a magical duel. Not one that you can help in.. or can you?You maimed this dragon once before in the real world… maybe there’s something you can do here?> Maybe if I unsealed Lex’s power again> Is this because of the wards he put on me? Pulling together all the willpower you can, you reach out to both Lexington and the ancient dragon and begin trying to draw them into your own mind; yanking at them with all the force you can possibly muster with your untrained dreamwalking abilities. You let out a savage grunt as you feel a block, an almost tangible limit on your ability that stops you dead. When you open your eyes from the strain both Lexington and the Dragon are staring at you, “The fuck was that supposed to be?” He demands. But the sheer venom in the dragon’s gaze as it stares right through you has you physically reeling, you know it’s name. It is Balthazaar, you know it’s motive - revenge and the righting of the natural order. You know it’s location. You know what it’s learned about you. You know what it’s doing as soon as it fades from this dream…He’s coming.

You’re not dying while I’m here, even if it kills me.”You are repulsed back by his glare, thrown across the cobblestone graves to land in a combat stance, “I don’t give a damn what you fuckin’ want Purps. I’ll die when I’m good and gods damned ready.” “Like it or not, I’m your bodyguard and you’re my scribe.” You spit. “We’re in your dreamscape, so you want to experience death? Well fine, I’ll kill you. Again and again until you realize, that you’ve got responsibilities.” The word to describe the expression on his face is murderous, with a raised hand a spike of solid rock rises from the earth and embeds itself perfectly in your throat with a pathetic rasp. “YOU THINK I DON’T KNOW?” He screams at you, while a sword appears from thin air and embeds itself in your dream self’s leg. “WHY DO YOU THINK I DIDN’T HANG MYSELF?” The graveyard begins to shake, “WHY DO YOU THINK I WANTED YOU TO DO IT WHEN WE MET?” With a slashing gesture, his hand cuts clean through your hips and with a spurt of blood you are left hanging with an impaled throat; strips of flesh and guts hanging down with rains of blood and gore. He stares into your red eyes, one of the few who can hold that cold gaze with nary a flinch. For once it is you who cowers from another’s eyes as your realize how truly powerless you are right now, “I’m aware of my duty. To Luc, you, my debt to Honamurei, my duty to resist Senator Carlisle - that’s right I know his fucking name. I know my duty to be here in case of a magical catastrophe, I know my duty to the fey, to the spirits, to the living, to the wizards, starborn, shamans and orphans.” You try to look up opening the wound in your throat up in the sheer fight or flight response to the seemingly insane wizard, but he drags your gaze to him with his old scarred hands, clutching your skull enough to crack your jawbone; “Power is a fucking prison Purps. You’re in it, I am too. Our duty is to survive and fight. Don’t ever accuse me of forgetting it - I’m not the one who forgets who I am here.”You awake to pain in your head where your face hit the floor.Lexington’s breathing is no longer laboured. Hona sings, "So let's go and help."Lexington sucks air through his teeth and from the corner of your eye you note his ever increasing anxiety. But inside your body is practically trying to take off down the hill at a sprint and start ripping Darnite heads off. "Um... Purps, Lex." Luc pipes up, as he's loading his rifle with reverance. Each bullet inspected before being slid into the firing chamber individually, "The rebels are the bad guys. They hurt Purps and Hona at Grinnsmon, they're trying to overthrow the government.... we should stop them right?" He stops loading for a second and looks to you for confirmation, "That's what Dad would want us to do?"Lex shakes you from your thought abrubtly, "Purps. There's a long clean gash across his throat, easily as wide as both of your hands and spurting blood weakly.People don't bleed this much.... they can't.Not a kid. for the love of Minerva not a kid.You kneel and look past him and see a figure in a grey bodysuit shetahing a sword. He looks back with a smile, a smile of satisfaction in his work. It's him that boy from the tall grass on the day you met Luc.Bertrand.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n4AbU-XSOAo> Write-In

Everyone's eyes are upon you as you walk through the bloody pool before you, feeling your shredded boots allow the crimson between your toes and to stain your footprints as you delicately step over a huddled form below you. Words are spoken and guns fire upon you to no effect as everything in you begins turning off like so many lamps in a storm. You scream.Stepping forward before anyone's eyes can track you, you place your hand on the isde of a mans skull and drag out his brains like thread from a ball of yarn, the enemy hasn't even reacted by the time your other hand has been thrust into someone's stomach; the punch sending the man flying through a nearby rooftop. As you continue your movement, frantic, hectic and impossible to track in your freeflowing brutality - a sword finds itself in your hand before it is thrown into a gunner's chest. You grab an amrour clad woman's shoulder and tear her in two, shoulderingthough the small space her parting makes to pounce on an officer and crush his skull between your hands like an overripe fruit.Magic lashes out at you from the rout that was the enemy formation and you take it in your face, the heat of the bolt of lightning making your nose smoke. The magus; forty odd feet is in your grasp a moment later and your howls of grief go silent as your teeth grasp onto the lower half of his jaw and tear.Next is picking off the fleeing army. Which is done by grabbing and physically tearing them apart, flesh bone, steel and leather parting like wet paper - every second you can, you tear your throat and heart open more as you persist in painting the town red with your blind fury. Despite embracing the Violet demon's legacy, you spot a white haired foe limping towards you despite the terror you smell coming off him in waves. The blood from his leg marks his own funeral march as his forces flood past him.> We grieve together. They Burn...> Find the one who did it. All else is seocndary.> Minerva's Lance

Who are we to decide who lives and who dies. We kill these people but then what? Their families go hungry, more suffering, more death. Do you think the child would of wanted this? For us to kill these people in cold blood? All we are doing is spreading suffering and misery, all because of one life.

And simply ignore the officer moving forward first at a dtermined march then a brisk walk followed by a jog; then you begin moving up to a full sprint. Your power leaking and overflowing in all direction in purple fire that is much, much darker than norm. The flickers of black seem to warp and twist, cloying at the edges of your flames and guiding you through the streets, alleys, avenues and even telling you to break through some walls until the entire aura around you goes black. Ebony flames rage like a bonfire as you see the bastard standing opposite you in the middle of the street. His words come out, but they don't reach your ears. The orange sun burns with an intensity unseen by man for some time as a bright beam bursts forth. But by the time the world starts to turn green; the orange pillar of sunfire strikes. All that you see is orange as the street is engulfed in the ensuing explosion as the sky, town and street are all torn asunder by divine fury.Time passes. You open your eyes to glass buildings on a glass street, your hair stands on end and your body is strangely numb as you see a melted pile of flesh and grey magitek equipment. Total annihalation at the hands of a furious Sun Goddess. Only one body part remains, a perfectly bleached skull. As you walk forward, every step echoing back to you; your bloody foosteps ring out like a speech being called at a noble feast. The red smeared stains of your footprints on the glass are the only mark of your passage as you stand in the liquefied remains of a man and crouch down to collect his skull.Behind you, is nothing but destruction and despair. This is not a time for introspection, this is not a time for emotion. This is a time when you go back to what you are, a broken and inhuman killing machine. A starborn among sheep, the violet demon, The Purple Firefly. Whatever moniker you need to don right now to achieve revenge. You are not a woman of feeling and softness, quite the opposite. You are a cold tempered tool of death - one that is pointed at the rebellion's very heart. As you stow your new trophy in your threadbare pack, you push through the puddle of human remains and move forward; as you always must. Marching ahead towards the town square, where the pyres burn brightest and the smoke billows out in an unending black column. Somewhere a bell rings, whether in alarm or victory you care not. Because as you quietly head towards the next fight; you are alone. Save for a Godess in grief.Darna, The Rebellion. Both will fall by your hands. Luc will have company on his journey beyond... no matter how many of your lives it takes.> Starborn Quest 35: Mido End.
