You follow Sam into a large room. This one is lit quite well, and you can clearly see the purpose of it. Artoria instantly reacts with revulsion. Clark, On the other hand, seems intrigued by the intricacies of the device.

"I suppose it would get the job done. Amazing how far they've come without magic as a guideline." He nods, "This appears calibrated for children..."

Sam nods, removing components from one of the computers, "Dr. Krasis finds children easier to mold mentally, so she prefers to modify them over others."

"Through trial and error." Vee adds, quietly, "Jeremy found she kidnapped many from their families mid-war."

>You recover 3 Laboratory Medical Packs.
The Grand General would never resort to such practices... To cannibalize the next generation to make abominations? There's no future in it. FEATHER is collecting the information and equipment, it seems.

>Why aren't you destroying this equipment?
>Are all the Laboratories so depraved?
>(To Vee) How much did Jeremy have in this?
>Just nod and look for more loot.

"Why aren't you destroying this equipment?" You stare disdainfully at the central chamber.

"Vile or not, this is still medical equipment, and can greatly enhance FEATHER's medical facilities. The notes contain vital information on the human body which can be used for medical purposes as well..."

Horrible experiments begetting mundane medical progress. You can't help but get echoes of Ollam here. You never could understand why Ollam did all those things either.... Medical development, they claimed, but that led to things like Artoria, trapped in a pod and used as a computer.

"Are all these 'Laboratories' so depraved?"

Sam shrugs, "Most of the ones that have human test subjects are, I'd imagine. Labs didn't operate using morality, but by merit." The soldiers finish clearing out the last bits of equipment, "I wouldn't expect them to maintain any sort of standards."

You turn to Vee, quietly, "How much did the Professor have a hand in this?"

"He mostly developed the designs for the bioweapons, developed how they could work and how to alter the body to create them... For actual experimentation he did next to nothing, other than fine-tune the finished products..." Vee tilted her head, "It's a compartmentalized lab system. Many departments operate on their own under Dr. Krasis."

The FEATHER troops are moving out. Sam offers to seal the lab door shut so that any stray bioweapon can't attack from behind.
>Follow Sam's group (Seal door)
>backtrack (Leave door open)

>backtrack (leave door open)....and unseal any doors we go through. Move quietly with as much stealth as possible. If there's a bioweapon loose behind us, let it pass us and go after the FEATHER troops. We got what we came for.

You fall in behind Sam. The thought to abandon your allies comes to mind, but the thought of more loot is far stronger... Besides, making a reputation for Alainn soldiers abandoning allies would make for poor diplomacy...

Not to mention there IS a bioweapon down here. You note that Sam isn't in charge of the group, but rather one of the few who communicates to you regularly.

You come to a divide in the hallway. One path leads to a laboratory. The FEATHER troops will be heading that way.

Another is what appears to be a small armory, which would supply a great deal loot for you. With the lab behind you sealed, the only possible threats would lie ahead.
>Stick with FEATHER troops
>Loot armory
>Ask Sam if they could pause the group while you 'investigate' the armory.

You inform Sam your group needs to split briefly here, but you'll catch up. Sam's face is mostly hidden, but they seem disappointed that you aren't coming with them.

Your group enters the armory. There are many weapons racked on the walls. You gather up a great deal of rifles and carbines, all nonmagical, but you also manage to find a few weapons of Trost's design. With Vee present, she helps you identify them.

>You've obtained a Matter Reformatter. This is one of the most basic weapons in the line of transmogrification. Vee informs you that this weapon has a 50% chance to backfire.

>You've obtained an Audio Disruptor. This is a sound-based weapon that uses sound frequencies to cause the affected's bodies to break down.

>You've obtained the Life Siphon. This sinister-looking weapon seems to be able to steal the energy and health of the victim and transfer it to the wielder and those around them.

>You obtain 2 Laboratory medical kits.

There is a door to another hallway, but it looks like the lights have been smashed.

You follow after the soldiers into the next lab. This place has been cleared already. You still manage to scrounge up something.

>2 lab medical kits obtained

Opening up the next door... leeds into a hall with flickering lights. A few of the soldiers are dead on the ground, torn apart by powerful slashing attacks that cut through the armor. A broken vent that appears something had burst out of hisses as air escapes. The trail leads into the next lab. Entering you are led to more bodies. A trail of blood leads into a brightly lit hallway, but another door opens to the dark hallway. Interestingly this door appears to be bolted shut from the lab's side. A vent that appears broken into is apparent on one of the walls.

You note that Sam is not among the dead. Judging from the signs of conflict in the room, a lot happened here... the lack of noise from the armory means the walls and doors are really good at dampening sound for some reason.

[Whew...]
You follow the casings and blood into the brightly lit hallway, weapons drawn.

The next room is littered with bodies. Sam is in a corner with 6 FEATHER soldiers, They have guns drawn and are firing at the walls.

"It's in the vents! It's in the vents!" One of the soldiers shouts before a wormlike creature pursts from an overhead grating, and with inhuman speed, tears through one of the hardsuit soldiers, their gun going off several times before they fall to the ground.

You fire your own rifle, but fail to hit the creature before it goes into the vents again. Vee aims, "Subject 2 has no heat signature and is built around speed and attack ability. It uses scents and sound to hunt. It must have escaped containment back at that bolted door... It's not one of the bioweapons. Once it kills them, it WILL follow us and kill us. We need to destroy it or escape the lab."

The creature lunges out again, taking the life of another FEATHER soldier before entering the wall. This time, though, Vee blasts the wall right after, destroying a good chunk of its hiding places.

It streaks out again, this time, lunching for your party. Uriel lets out a yelp and falls prone, leaving the creature to strike at Pisteia. The mercenary's blade clips the creature as she swings, deflecting the monstrosity before it retreats into the vents once more. Clark crushes that exist too.

It lunges again, killing another FEATHER soldier and wounding Sam with a slash. Your rifle scores a few hits on the creature before it retreats.

Vee and Clark are now destroying vents. With only two escape points, it's easy to train your weapons on incoming routes. After a moment of silence, the creature appears again, barreling towards your party. You open fire, backed by Almeda and Artoria, but your shots do little.

PIsteia moves into its path and slashes forward. The momentum of the creature, combined with the mercenary's sharp blade makes subject to split itself on the sword in a mess of gore.

Subject 2 is dead. There are 3 FEATHER soldiers and Sam remaining of the initial force.
>Use a lab medkit and heal Sam
>save medical kits.

This lab has two exits. One is towards the cargo lift, and the way out. The other seems to go towards the darkened hallways. Not only is this door locked up, it's been reinforced with furniture. You swear you see something move in the darkness, but it could be a trick of the light.
