War has come for the New Necrotic Armada.

The initial attack by the Ahkam fleets was fierce as they emerged from their Storm Gates, swarms of fighters filling the void of space between hundreds of sub and capital warships. Bolts of energy hundreds of kilometers long leap between their hulls from the lingering charges of Arc energy that makes the vessels indistinct and flickering as the light warps and distorts around them.

Urdir, home to much of the Armadas shipyards and mining operations, was struck hard by the fleets that appeared in orbit over one of the industrialized worlds. Orbital bombardments rained across the surface, kinetic rounds and Arc infused explosives detonating in massive fireballs of heat and energy against the shields protecting the Reconstructed structures. The shields held for a time but they rapidly began to overheat from the attacks, the tower-like emitters melting to slag as the systems struggled to accommodate only to fail one by one.

The attack against the Armadas shipyards came at a price though, reinforcements from the other two heavily industrialized worlds sending their picket fleets to assist their sister world. Thousands of newly craft warships converged on the burning world, walls of Reconstructed ships closing in like the jaws of some impossibly large creature as they cut their teeth on the invaders. Brilliant emerald beams of Necrotic Flayers streak across the stellar void, trading fire with bolts of Arc lightning that leave burning afterimages. The skies of the rocky world glow with the countless fragments of Ahkam and Armada warships as they fall into the atmosphere toward vast fields of burning metal and rubble where the shipyards once stood.

Further in the system where the Armada once made the Matriach bleed the frozen world of Legion's Home prepares itself for the inevitable battle. Legionnaires, many in the midst of their training, rush to follow the commands of Officer Dretst as she organizes their forces. Commanded by Rethak personally to protect and guide the next generation of the Legion she works tirelessly thanks to the stream of stimulants from her Spinal Tap, sending Legionnaires to the ships waiting in orbit or to the bunkers and hidden fortresses hidden in the ice. She knew the fates of these soldiers, many of them formerly soldiers of the invaders themselves, relied on her guidance and she pauses only to occasionally offer up a prayer to the Wormstar for its protection before returning to her frantic work.

Deep under the ice where the Blackscales carried out their twisted experiments the lone Necromancer Guir watches reports of the invasion. He stood in a cloning chamber, pods incubating the first batch of their grand project arrayed behind him while a demi-Think Tank projected a holoscreen for him. Hissing faintly he grumbles to himself about how he should've gone with his brother and sister, a complaint he's repeated in the hours since the Ahkams arrival.

In the Bastion system thousands of Ahkam ships emerged from the Storm Gates over the toxic world, wiping away the the patrols and picket fleet within moments as kinetic rounds and swarms of countless strikecraft tore away their shields and hulls. They formed into two vanguards and split their attentions on their two prizes.

While Urdir was the system that the Armada made the Matriach bleed, the Bastion system was where they denied the Matriarch of priceless treasures.

Rukor stood heavily guarded by a combined fleet of the Armada and Obsidianborn, their blockade stalling the attackers for several hours as they whittled away at each others forces. The massive Treeships sent by the Armatocere hold the line, their Thorn fighters shedding from their hulls like pollen in a storm to duel with the swarms of strikecraft mainly composed of the esat fighters. Several times groups of Destroyers and Battlecruisers that are recognized as specializing in orbital bombardment of both ground troops and weaponry attempt forcing their way through the blockade only to be stalled and turned away by the network of Terrordromes protecting the planet like a net.

Alarms rang out over the cities of the ructu, urging them to seek shelter as they rush from their homes to the bunkers built by the Armada. Terrordrome halves float over the shimmering shields that protected the ructu capital city. Stonestar warriors from Bastion stand alongside Legionnaires as they helped the ructu natives prepare, the waters around the protected cities swarming with aquatic Reconstructed just below the surface.

The force of Ahkam invaders that turned outward toward the supermassive gas giant and its moon of Bastion found themselves stalled as they attempted to cross the asteroid belt that split the system. They were initially hounded out among the hollowed out asteroids where thousands of Armada and Obsidianborn strikecraft came pouring out of hidden hangars, Nails and Gunships fighting alongside Stonestar piloted Dervish fightercraft to rip into the foremost invaders. Crit-bombers race alongside the Ahkam ships, the bioships deploying clouds of crit crawls in their wakes so the volatile Reconstructed could carry out their eager tasks.

From deeper within the asteroid field emerged the defending fleet, capital ships using the asteroids as shields to fire from behind. Where an asteroid had been mined and hollowed their interiors were replaced with countless missilepods and mounted guns, lonely Pilots and demi-Think Tanks unleashing their arsenals before they are shot down or detonated. Where the Ahkam thought there was only lifeless stone hidden Shockdromes and Obsidianborn defensive craft lash out at passing vessels, their powerful necrotic and geokinetic weaponry carving through shield and hull before they could retaliate.

The serpents are at the gates and their war has come for you and the Armada

Elemental Event - Arc Surge increasing
>The already increase of power during the Arc Surge seems to be increasing even further. Arc energy is becoming difficult to control for inexperienced wielders and overloads are common with Arc based technology. Anomalies have begun manifesting around areas and devices of intense Arc Energy ranging from motes of distorted light to sudden discharges of dangerous levels of energy.

Current Research:
>Necrotic Drive: Slow, Unpredictable - A project attempting to use Necrotic energy to create an FTL capable engine
>Advanced Mental Reading: Medium - Experiments into remote thought scanning technology
>Elemental Disruption Experiments: Medium, Very Dangerous - An extremely dangerous experiment into testing the interactions of elemental and quasiphasic energies
>Quasiphasic Armor: Medium - Inspired by the infantry based Specter Armor to scale the technology for spaceships
>Zaeen Reconstruction: Slow - The process of Reconstructing the Zaeen Behemoth will allow the further creation of similar Reconstructed bioships
>Solar Engine: Slow - Think Tanks believe they can replicate the Sunscale's Solar-based FTL if given time
>Solar Agriculture: Fast - With the aid of Solar-empowered Armatocere the Think Tanks hope to improve their methods of agriculture and biomass generation
>Orbital Shields: Slow - With the fragility of orbital superstructures the Think Tanks propose more measures to defend them
>Psionics: Medium, possibly dangerous - The incident with the Advanced Mental Reading lab has inspired several Think Tanks to begin researching psionics by focusing on telekinesis gained from sources other than Necrotic energy
>Floral Necrotic Experiments: Unknown, Dangerous - A project proposed by a Think Tank, who worked on the original Necrotic experiments on the living that lead to the Immortals, has grown intrigued with the Armatocere Necrotic initiates and requests their aid in experimenting with Necrotic energies and floral organisms
>>
>>1767701
Ongoing and Joint projects:
>Elemental Experiments: Ongoing, possibly Dangerous - A long-standing research goal of the Think Tanks into the various elemental energies
>Blackscale Cloning projects: Ongoing, possibly Dangerous - Efforts to create loyal clones of the Sunscale and Blackscale
>Anti-Wraith Technology: Ongoing - A joint project between the Armada and Armatocere to develop defenses against the Sun-Eater Wraiths
>Sub-Space Experiments: Ongoing, Dangerous - Risky experimentation in the nature of Sub-Space and dimensional energies
>Arc Experiments: Unknown, Unpredictable - Think Tanks are taking advantage of the Arc Surge to explore previously ignored avenues of research
>FTL Interdiction: Fast - A recently completed long-term project of the Mindvines this data contains all the Armada needs to design and replicate the technology. By utilizing a mix of gravitational manipulation and reality anchor technology a field of what the Mindvines have called "Null Grav" that heavily hampers almost all tested FTL methods, effectively negating escape by traditional FTL travel.
>Reconstructed intelligence: Unknown - Less of an experiment and more of a study and observation into investigating the cause and effects of the development of intelligence and personality within Reconstructed

Due to the emergency events unraveling in numerous Armada held territories and the prediction of more invaders the Think Tanks have temporarily stalled all current projects turning their conjoined mental efforts toward focusing on the defense of the Armada.

Seated alone in the Charnel Vault before a large table you wave a hand and holographic images of your generals and commanders appear in their seats around the table. They all bow their heads or salute in greeting before you speak while gesturing to the holoscreens displaying the situations in Bastion and Urdir, "War has arrived and our Matriarch guest will be here shortly as well. This may be our most fierce battle yet," you say solemnly.

Valresko taps at something where he was seated in his own battleship floating near your flagship in Horizon's Drop, "There have been heavy losses of infrastructure to one of our production worlds in Urdir but most of the ships were already in orbit and a large number of capitals were recently finished only hours before leading to them being stymied for now. The Think Tanks have been compiling their numbers, Lord Jadyk," he says and the screens shift to show estimates of the invasion forces.

Ahkam Invaders:

Urdir:
>8 Ahkam Serpents
>10 Battleships
>25 Destroyers
>20 Battlecruisers
>60 Heavy Cruisers
>75 Light Cruisers
>300 Frigates
>500 Corvettes

Bastion:
>15 Ahkam Serpents
>35 Battleships
>50 Destroyers
>60 Battlecruisers
>70 Heavy Cruisers
>100 Light Cruisers
>300 Frigates
>500 Corvettes

"Storm Gates are continuing to open as well. Who knows how many of their fleets they're directing toward us," Eiton says from his battlecruiser that had recently arrived in Bastion near Rukor and joined the blockade, "The Matriarch approaches as well. I can sense her now more clearly with how violent the Arc Surge is becoming."

Ruscuv nods from the opposite end of the table, "Indeed, if our ships didn't rely so heavily on the Necrotic we would have been swept away already. Even in the ocean of Rukor I can taste the Arc, it's like a static against my chitin." She stood in the brain of the Fury of the Wormstar, the massive bioship barely containing its excitement at the coming battle where it hid under the ocean waves near the Zaeen Behemoth nearing its final Reconstruction.

Agona slams her fist down on the stone table in her own pyroclastic Destroyer, the impact not transferring through the connection to the others, "The Lavafather has given me full command of his fleets to better synchronize the Obsidianborn with our Think Tanks. I will be the connection but I will be there to help you slay Quantac'Vrix, Lord Jadyk," she says with a grimness unlike the stoic Punisher you knew.

There was a snarl of anger from Valresko and he taps at something and the screen shifts to show footage of the battles, "They're trying to break through to Rukor, trying to bombard it or land troops while the other group is attempting to pass over and under the asteroid belt to get to Bastion," he says as the screens show a large contingent of densely packed capitals attempt to break through the blockade over Rukor and the forces stalled by the asteroid belt begin splitting above and below the solar plane.

There was much to tend to in these battles, how shall the Armada respond?

Bad day for the quest or did I take too long to post?
>>
>>1767825
We have a great deal on our plate at the moment. We need to focus on greater threats to be sure, and make sure all of our advantages are well used. To that end I think our ground troops are much more than capable and should be allowed to engage on Rukor. We should switch all of our terrordomes and picket ships to focus on the enemy fleet and ignore the landing parties. We fight unconventionally as is so we need not worry about losses from bombardment outside the capital.

As for general allocation, as much as Ruscuv would serve us well on the ground we really need to retake air superiority ASAP. so that said

Bastion Generals

Ruscuv: Lead a melee brawl with the Akham fleets closest to Rukor. That being where the Beast of Rukor is strongest anyway.

Eiton: Take a force of cargo vessels packed with crit crawls and attempt to lay down interference between the reinforcement points still shocking in, and the fleets already contesting. If we can even slow their forces, however breifly, it will serve us, because all we really need to stabilize is time, time enough for the big mama to arrive so we can end this decisively.

Agona: Hold the fucking line. As far as Im aware the dockyards and wormstar fingers on Bastion are the only ones in his possession and we will absolutely need every inch of workable yard to do repairs during this fight, which I get the feeling is going to be severely drawn out.

Horizon Generals

Valresko and ourselves will directly oversee a defense over Horizons Drop. All other insystem assets are chump change to the homeworld. Draw any defences other than crit crawls back to the planet and its moon and prepare overlapping fields of fire. We are going to seige this out.

Jor-Rethak: Lets put them to work then, they will lead the muster and defence of the legions home base, and Horizons Drop respectively.

Tlacex: Forgive me but Ive completely forgotten who this guy is/

He's the Illuminator General. A purely Necrotic powered General he specializes in hardlight tech. Most of his efforts so far were in helping protect Refuge.

He's the one who captured the most recent Ahkam Nru'jok when Ruscuv, Muic, and him attacked Tura and managed to get her to submit.

Plan seems to be:
>Ignore landing parties to focus on fleets
>Send Ruscuv with the Fury to attack and disrupt attacking fleets
>Send Eiton to seed key points with crit crawls
>Send Rethak to Urdir to oversee its defense
>Jadyk and Jor stay in HD to defend it
>Send Tlacex to Bastion to begin hunting Ahkam

Sound like a plan?

Void is actually weak against Arc. It's how the Ahkam has maintained a relatively level playing field against the Osjiic Empire despite the Empires superior military strength. Tlacex has already equipped a Necrotic Core to his Juggernaut and it's waiting in the Light Cruiser Tlacex is currently on in Horizon's Drop.

You are silent for several moments, claws tapping the armrest of your throne as you used the Deep Rots vast analytical mind to gauge your plans. Finally you shift in your throne, leaning forward, "Very well," you say and point a claw toward Rethak seated on the other side of Jor, "Commander Rethak, you will depart for the Urdir system and Legion's Home. Officer Dretst would welcome your assistance and the Necrolytes will be inspired by your presence."

The osjiic Immortal nods with a salute, "Of course, Lord Jadyk. I will protect them," he says before his image flickers out. Moments later a Mirrorsoul Battleship and a small fleet wrap themselves in distorted space-time to disappear in the cosmic distance toward Urdir.

"Predator Eiton," the Arc General straightens in his seat at his name, "Take stealth ships and seed the system with the Crit Crawls. I leave it up to you to ensure that our unwelcome guests learn to fear the emptiness of space."

The Predator salutes, "My Disciples and I will begin immediately. Once we are finished we shall join whoever you assign to hunting the serpents. I wish to add more of them to my count," he says with a rictus grin before his own hologram flickers out. Already aboard a cloaked Sower Corvette near Rukors southern pole he sends commands to the shipboard Cauldrons and soon dozens then hundreds of Crit Crawlers began rolling and scurrying through the halls and cargo bays.

You look across the table to Ruscuv, "I know the Fury must be as eager to join the battle as you are, sister. I am unleashing you both against the attackers of Rukor. They must not bombard its surface. You will bring the Fury of the Wormstar against them and make them fear your name. Focus on the warships, ignore the landing parties and drop troops. Our ground forces should be more than adequate to deal with them."

Ruscuv's tendrils coil with excitement as her mandible twist into a sadistic grin, "Those were the words I wished to hear, brother. The Fury will feast upon these serpents," she says with a bow of her broad armored head before her image flickers out as well.

"Punisher Agona, I am leaving the defense and blockade of Bastion in your capable hands. Relay the orders to those guarding Rukor that they are obey Valresko's plans for defending it," as you spoke the glances to the Solar Dominator and gives a nod then looks back to you, "The Ahkam will have much hatred toward Bastion and its peoples. You must protect them, the Stonestar and Ructu both.

"You fight for both I and the Lavafather. We have faith in you ability to punish these interlopers."

Agona bows her head, fist thumping against her armor in salute, "They will suffer my wrath, Lord Jadyk," she swears and the image flickers out.

This all sounds pretty good, though I wonder if we shouldn't try to draw the Matriarch into a trap when she arrives. If we can surprise her in a devastating pincer attack between say Jadyk and Agona, we can cut her down in front of all of her children and their followers and destroy their morale.

But obviously we shouldn't disregard the safety of our inhabited planets. Should it become necessary, I am willing to sacrifice the other worlds that are not inhabited by our citizens and allies, but the 'Heart' worlds must remain inviolate.

"Illuminator Tlacex, you will depart for Bastion and join Ruscuv. She will focus on destroying their fleets while you focus on finding and slaughtering the Ahkam," you command, the image of the Illuminator showing his beak pulling back in a delighted grin, "We have the proclamation of those three, now loyal, Ahkam, but I wish to show the galaxy the truth that they are no true gods by showing that even as the cosmos and Arc itself rise up in support of them, that they cannot avoid our blades and fangs."

"I will shine the light of the Wormstars Truth upon their lies and burn their illusions away, Lord Jadyk," he says with a salute before his own image disappears.

Leaving only Jor and Valresko you look to the human, "We shall stay to ensure the safety of our citizens for now. I am still uncertain where the Matriarch will appear."

Valresko nods, "The place of her last humiliation, the system where she lost her greatest prizes beyond the Esat, or here where the seat of her targets power. We shall wait and be prepared."

It is time for the Armada to fight back against these invaders.

In the core of his battleship Valresko sat alone in a chamber as the holograms of yourself and Jor flicker out and the table of chitin lifted on a pillar of muscle retracts back into the floor. His chair scurries back a few feet on dexterous legs then settles down with his back facing the Deep Rot Relay built into the wall, the pulsing light of its core the only illumination in the chamber except for the flames that flicker from his joints and gaps in his armor. Tendrils of nervous tissue lift out of the Relay, the serrated barbs of a neural interface device marking the tips as they sway like serpents before darting forward and burrowing into the back of Valresko's skull and spine. The Reconstructed General grunts at the discomfort but the Relay lets out a squeal of pain as the interfaces were charred and cauterized as they fuse with him.

There was a shock that makes him gasp, the smooth visage of his face cracking open erratically as his mind was nearly engulfed by the Deep Rots mind as it opened its psionic network to the undead directly. It took him several moments to steady himself but by the time the fractures in his armor had repaired he had control of himself once more.

His mind reaches out, guided by the Deep Rot and the countless millions of Think Tanks linked to it, and fleets begin to move at a thought. The chamber before him fills with a complicated array of holoscreens displaying battle statistics and incoming data streams, his mind branching out in ways he never thought possible. Yet he realizes this immensity, this weight of the Armada and every Reconstructed mind unified by it, growing daily with each of the living that take a symbiot into themselves, he only experiences a fraction of what you or the Deep Rot must experience each moment.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ydIaUx84HWs

Letting his awe fade he turns his mind to matters at hand, his vision now formed from the sensors of the blockade around Rukor as the Ahkam make their push. With a surge of his will he sends out his commands and the fleets leap into action with his thoughts

"Let us make this system their tombs"

The barrage unleashed by the blockade was precise and deadly guided by the merciless Dominator. Groupings of vessels focused their fire on individual warships before they turned their weapons onto a new target before their attacks could even reach their initial targets. Kinetic rounds infused with Necrotic energy crack across the void of space to strike the glowing shields of their foes, and you are witness to a previously unknown phenomenon. As the Necrotically charged rounds neared the intensely Arc charged vessels there were ripples of green light and flames as they punch through the dense aura of energy. Necrotic Flayers and bolts from Necroflensers seem to shine brighter against the backdrop of the Arc Surge.

The attack seemed to delay their push once more but as the capital ships were driven back as their shields failed and hulls began to rust and rot smaller sub-capitals and strikecraft began to slip past the onslaught. They raced past the net of Terrordromes that ignored them in favor of unleashing their assaults against those few persistent capital ships that tried to break past. Necrotic flayers lance out in unison or timed delays, the vibrant beams crackling against the Arc charged shields of the invaders, shields that fail to completely protect against the entropic forces that cause their armor to corrode and their weapons to misfire.

From the surface of Rukor anti-orbital lances split the sky with their Necrotic beams turning dusk to emerald day, the lights of explosions lighting the sky as the most persistent of the capital ships break through the blockade alongside those purposely let through. From hidden bunkers on desolate islands or hidden under shallow seas a truly countless number of missiles erupted forth, the simple minds guiding them screaming out with joy as the intercepted the falling debris and strikecraft that began to race out of the sky. Pins and Needles fill the sky with shrapnel and fire as Pike missiles race from the surface into orbit on a long distance trip against the Ahkam fleets, the large missiles nearly qualifying as just a highly explosive starship.

Yet it was not just necrotic beams and semi-sentient explosives that rose from Rukor. There was a bellow, a booming roar that echoed out across the world sending the oceans and the ructu natives trembling. Within sight of Vyi'a'Rthun, where crowds of ructu natives and other Armada citizens stood on the walls and terraces of the island turned city, there was a shadow that rose up against the setting sun, rising up from the depths of the ocean.

A massive vessel, nearly too large to escape the gravity of its home, rises rapidly through the atmosphere. It barrels past Ahkam strikecraft and landing corvettes, smashing into those to slow to move out of its way without slowing itself. Another bellow splits the air as it nears the upper atmosphere, its roar of unbridled rage echoing across the hemisphere as those below, undead and living, turn their gaze skywards and watch as the Fury of the Wormstar unfurls is colossal limbs in the last light of the setting sun.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lG7LX8BHCJY

Racing past the network of Terrordromes and blockade of ships the Fury only accelerates faster in the direction of the fleeing capitals. It's massive limbs move into position, the claws at the end were large enough to rip through the hulls of a capital ships beginning to glow with a build up of crackling Necrotic light. With a psychic roar it unleashes its attacks, beams leaping out from each claw to slice through multiple vessels with one strike as they are ripped apart at the molecular level. Swarms of strikecraft descended upon it in droves but its heavily armored hide bristled with chain flensers that strike down the multitudes of attackers as their fire rate increases rapidly, necroflenser auxiliaries sublimating the hulls of those that drew too close.

A battleship with the signature of a serpent onboard races to intercept the bioship with its cadre of destroyers flanking it and their frigate supports. Ruscuv sat in the brain of the ship and cackles, the tendrils hanging from her head coiling and twisting her happiness, "Come my little brother! Let us have some fun!" she shouts as she jams the pincers of her tail into the brain of the bioship and Necrotic energy surges and roils off her form and channels into Fury itself.

It's limbs unfurl and expose the shipbreaking beak hidden within that gnashes hungrily but arrayed around it the ports of four massive Necrotic Flayers began to shine with a star-like intensity as a massive build-up of energy began to accumulate. The would-be heroes of the Ahkam seemed to realize this mistake much too late as they attempted to divert their route but the Fury of the Wormstar unleashes the blasts of the flayers in one concentrated beam. That single conjoined beam punches through four destroyers and battlecruisers with its initial strike and it sweeps across the others, frigates nearly completely vaporized by the blasts. The battleship was struck and its engines melt and detonate, the capital starting to tumble uncontrollably through the void.

Ruscuv was not the only force the leap out into the no-man's land between the blockade and the invaders fleets, Valresko sending the Armada and Obsidianborn ships to follow in her wake. They pounced in the confusion her attack was spreading as the Fury raced to claim the downed battleship while unleashing its continuous barrage. Hangar and swarmer battlecruisers race forward, their shields glowing bright as they deflect and absorb the desperate attacks flung at them. As they caught up closer to the Fury as it bared down on the Ahkam fleets they began to unleash their flights of strikecraft and swarmers.

Nails and Gunships raced out and almost immediately engage in dogfights with the esat based fighters and gunships along with the heavy kosda made fighters and dropships. Grapnels leap out from the snug noses of the esat fighters, their barbs leaping out grapple Nails and send the strikecraft into dizzying spins as they tore at each other with their weaponry until one or both were reduced to scrap.

Tides of Swarmer Reconstructed surfed off each others gravity while drawn powerfully toward the the larger Arc Swarmers, bolts of the energy leaping between them like tethers. They swarmed across the surface of their host ships like ablative armor that intercept incoming missiles and strikecraft with an onslaught of necroflenser fire that almost looks like waves of green flame in the darkness of space. The closest of the swarm battlecruisers send their swarms toward the Fury and become like a second skin of evershifting armor dedicated to protecting one of the greatest weapons of the Armada.

The Furys limbs lash out, claws grasping down with pincers that easily grip the armored hull of the crippled battleship. The doomed ship attempted to fight back with its last moments, turrets and auxiliary weapons turning and opening fire pointblank against the bioship only for the claws to lash out with startling speed and wrench the weaponmounts from the hull. Its limbs pull the capital ship close to itself by wrapping firmly around it drawing the vessel toward the beak. In a frenzy of animalistic hunger and rage the bioship savages the capital ship, claws tearing off massive strips of the hull to vent atmosphere and crew into the void, the multiple sets of its beak chewing and shredding through the armored bulwarks while vomiting waves of Necrotic energy into its prey like a toxic venom.

Swarmer drones leap from the Fury like parasites and join in on tearing into the battleship in a violent feeding frenzy as dozens of necroflenser blasts rapidly sublimate the hull. All around the Fury the rest of the fleets sent by Valresko catch up and pass by to slam into the Ahkam lines. Destroyers and Obsidianborn ships flank a massive Treeship that races past as it opens fire with massive particle beam cannons and ionic weaponry.

>>1769017
Guided by Valresko's mind through the Deep Rot the fleets race into combat, hundreds of sub-capitals surging forward to shield the larger capitals as they closed in. Light began to distort between the nearing fleets, Arc and Necrotic energy reacting to the massive discharges of weaponry and detonation of their respective reactors, not to mention the haze from the tonnes of debris and shrapnel from missiles, strikecraft and broken ships.

Finally Ruscuv's attack paid off as from within the battleship there was a blast of Arc energy that melts through the hull of a jammed escape hatch. Bursting free was the twisting sinuous form of a blue scaled Ahkam attempting to escape. Arc lightning surged off her form as she races for the approaching capitals that clashed with the Armada fleets in their bid to rescue her.

The Fury had other plans as it releases the crippled battleship, tossing it from its limbs as it's engines gave a flare. Claws lash out, snatching at the serpent in the silence of the void but the Ahkam was nimble, nearly seeming to develop the Arc Blink just out of panic but a blast of a Necrotic Flayer scorches the serpents tail and it twists in pain. The momentary distract was all the Fury needed as a claw closes around its tail to drag it closer. More claws lashed and sunk their pincers into the scaled hide and the Ahkam twists and bucks in agony as waves of Arc energy burst off it like a miniature nova in an attempt to self-detonate but the bioship dragged the serpent toward its beak.

Watching from Horizon's Drop as the Fury of the Wormstar devoured the unfortunate Ahkam in full view of their fleets you almost felt pity for them. Almost.

Unsatisfied with its meal the Fury leaps forward toward the momentarily stunned ships as Ruscuvs cackling voice rings out across the airwaves on all unprotected and several protected channels

"See the blood of your gods paint the hull of the Fury! Witness their lies made plain! Surrender your flesh and bones to us and toss off the shackles of the deceiver serpents!"

Debris and dropships rained down alongside drop pods onto Rukor, the force of the Ahkam coming to personally punish the ructu for daring to defy the Dynasty in favor of the Armada. Reconstructed and Legionnaires waited for their commands to attack as the Ahkam began establishing beachheads on islands and beaches.

The command came through the demi-Think Tanks deployed with them and a cheer rang up as they made ready to defend this world. Many of the Legionnaires were once formerly Ahkam soldiers who had helped rebuild the cities of the ructu as reparations. Now they hunkered down in trenches and bunkers with the undead, Obsidianborn, stonestar and native ructu militias, the majority of those stationed on this world volunteering to help in its defense.

Flying Reconstructed filled the air, gargoyles flying alongside drakes and devils as storms began to swell on the horizons. The local Think Tanks detect high traces of Arc energy bombarding the planets upper atmosphere, shockwaves from the battles in the solar system stirring unnatural storms on the surface of the oceanic world.

As night fell across the populated cities and villages of the ructu the skies darkened with rapidly building storms, the gloom broken by the light of the anti-orbital lances punching through the storms. The ructu were unsure if the thunder that shook the air around them was from the weaponry or the lightning flashing above them.

Lights streaked through the sky as strikecraft engaged in aerial dogfights, the esat fighters just as equipped to fight in the atmosphere as the vacuum of space but here in the embrace of Rukor the skies were filled the deadly Reconstructed. Drakes raked their searing breaths across the hulls of dropships while Devils swooped in with their shrieking cries as they tackle fighters out of the air, their talons and beaks tearing into their hulls only release the now plummeting craft and begin searching for their next targets. Aquatic Reconstructed bobbed in the waved as they hefted javelin launchers and fired at passing aircraft or onto the beaches where the ground troops began landing.

Bunkers and pillboxes lined the beaches surrounding the dome protecting the ructu capital city, rows of trenches with numerous gun emplacements waiting for the invaders. Terrordromes lanced the night air with the flayers and necroflensers, the green beams and bolts sending numerous strikecraft plummeting to the ground in balls of flame if they drew too near the city.

The more distant villages of the ructu had their own protections but few had a shield dome to protect them. Instead the Terrordromes drifted overhead as Legionnaires work with ructu volunteers and Reconstructed soldiers. The Ahkam forces knew to concentrate on the smaller emplacements first before moving on to the capital city and they landed their dropships and pods on the outskirts of the islands or across shallow channels.

One of the largest beachheads of the invaders formed near a bustling trade port, one of the largest lacking a shield nearest the capital. Drop pods streaked out of the sky like meteors. Some fall until powerful braking thrusters fire and inertia dampeners flex allowing the troop carriers to land safely while other burst open to unleash the mechanized dropsuits from within, their own thrusters slowing their fall. They are met with weaponsfire, green bolts and beams cutting through the night along with the chattering of gunfire from defensive positions placed throughout the rolling dunes and hills.

Flares were fired into the air, illuminating the flying Reconstructed that swooped down on the Ahkam camps, the largest diving in to snatch up an unlucky soldiers to bite or claw into pieces or tossing them into the waters where aquatic Reconstructed tore into them. The beachhead opened fire into the air, drop mechs and air-defense weapons targeting the nimble undead and aircraft that strafed them.

Lead by the drop mechs the Ahkam invaders charged across the wet sands, the fleet-footed mechs dashing across with surprising speed as Arc light pulses from the Arc cores powering and suspending them. Groups of vehicles and tanks raced behind them, both wheeled and hovercraft with mounted guns and missile pods with armored troop carriers rumbling behind. As the bunkers opened fire against the approaching forces the mechs and tanks open fire as missiles streak out of their pods but most are struck down by clouds of shrapnel from the automated defensive guns.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G02wKufX3nw

A mech leaps over a dune, the cannon in its arm crackling then unleashing a spray of Arc bolts that flicker through the air to sear and electrocute a group of Talons and Stalkers dashing toward it from a nearby bunker leaving charred husks in its wake. It's other arm sweeps up and a rotating barrel fires several grenades in a long arch at the bunker that detonate on impact with plumes of flame. Seeing the attack did less damage than expected against the Obsidianborn devised bunker it braces itself and the missile pods on its back flap open as another pair of mech crest the same dunes to join it.

As the missiles streaked out toward the bunker several were shot down but the others strike against the stone sending flame and sand into the air. The new mechs prepared their own barrage but they were interrupted as the first mech was suddenly tackled by something large and heavy falling from the sky. The heavy exosuit rears back a fist, bringing the rapidly spinning hardlight saw that forms around it into the armored side of the staggered mech. The claws of its other fist clench into the armor near the "head" of sensors and cameras that swivels in alarm as it pummels the regenerative hardlight weapon over and over into its side gouging away its armor in glowing slashes. It's kosda pilot, one of the oldest of their kind to join the Armada with dull, scarred scales and a clouded eye, screams out their challenge as their Spinal Tap floods their system with stimulants and the Reconstructed exoarmor responds to their commands as if they were the exosuit themself.

The other mechs level their weapons on the attacking exosuit but only manage to launch a few grenades before they too are attacked. A Brute bellows its challenged as it charges toward them, kicking up great sprays of sand with each step propelled by its jump-pack. With a battlescarred towershield held before it it blocks several Arcbolts as the Necrotic core within it pulses to counteract the powerful weapon. Drawing close with startling speed it swings a serrated ax around and lodges the thermal vibroblade into its chasis. Pulling the mech closer it roars as it belches Necrotic flame across the mech as it struggles to free itself from the devastating attack.

>cont
>>
>>1769291
The third mech angles itself around the Brute hoping to flank it as a large blade is unsheathed from its arm, its edge crackling with Arc energy as it rears back to impale the undead. The sand shifts under it suddenly and interrupts the attack as the ground around it erupts suddenly. Leaping into the air nearly a dozen Stonestar land on the mech in their Cauldron-forged exoarmors, vicious pincers that glow with heat tear into the chasis as the nimbly swarm the tall mech. Their obsidian blades carving through the armor as they target it's limbs and weaponry, the mech swinging wildly to dislodge its attackers but they were too nimble as first one arm falls to the sand then the other before a pair sever the head of sensory equipment from it. It did not take long for them to find the hatches and carve them open, the pair of epikor pilots torn bloodily out of their harnesses with both leaving at least and arm or leg behind as the vengeful stonestar butcher them.

The kosda Legionnaire releases its hold on the mech as the Arc-edged blade gouges at a gap in the flexible plating around the midsection and kicks them away. The mech, damaged but still battle-worthy, charges it's Arc cannon as it leaps forward swinging with the other arm with the blade. A hardlight shield flickers to life and catches the blade as the other hand dashes forward to sink its claws into the damaged front of the mech, the oversized jump-pack on its back flaring with a distortion of light that sends the exoarmor rocketing into the mech. Driving the mech backwards until they hit the side of a bunker, the impact leaving a crack in the reinforced stone. The Arc canon blasts nearly pointblank against the center of the exoarmor and it shudders as the energy washes through it and blood bursts from the Legionnaires mouth but their shout of pain became one of anger. The hardlight shield fades as it plunges both hands of the exoarmor into the chest of the mech and with a screech of shearing metal tears it open. Two epikor pilots shout in terror as the heavily damaged exoarmor rears back its fist once more and brings it down to silence their screams and still the mechs movements.

Across Rukor the fighting was fierce but the Legionnaires, Reconstructed, and their Stonestar and Obsidianborn allies fought bravely to protect the ructu and their world. The ructu as well took up arms to defend their home, no longer content to let others do all the fighting for them. Emboldened by the stories of the Legion there were much more volunteers for the militias than the Legion or Think Tanks had expected, every Legionnaire matched by by at least three to five ructu that took bone rifles or flensers and hunkered down in the trenches and bunkers. While they were far from trained soldiers they learned quickly, their natural talents for teamwork and keen minds allowing them to learn the ways of war quickly as the hours passed defending their homes.

Rukor may be under siege, but it was not alone nor defenseless. Aided by the Armda and it's allies the children of Rukor rose up to defend their home for the first time to drive off those that once attempted to enslave them, their indignant rage and spite lending a fury to them you had no idea existed in them.

Rukor was under siege but it would survive for now.

Ay Grave! Got the descriptions for the races appearing in the quest so far?I'm itching to draw them!
>>
>>1769333
gimme a second to scrape them up
>>
>>1769333
Vorh: Humanoid crustaceans, similar in height but thinner than humans, can appear frail but deceptively strong. Hands are formed from four dexterous digits like crab legs. Two eyes that can range in color from darks like black, blue, or purple or lighter greens and yellow. Chitin comes in a range of colors of mottled duns, grays, and occasionally a rusty red. Mouth is a series of mandibles.

Kesh: Humanoids with a forward slouch that makes them look shorter than they are. Cyclopeans with an advanced eye with several flexible plates that function as olfactory receptors and ears, their skull and faces elongated with large jaws. Arboreal they once lived in large trees on a low-gravity world, the center digits of their hands and feet a sturdy sickle with the other four digits being zygodactyl. Hairless except for sparse patches and a denser coat of mottled fur when they are young, their skin is rough hide like a rhinos and commonly dark mottled or striped grays and blues.

Netu: Humanoid arthropods they have black shelled chitin that is occasionally decorated with scar-like engravings and embedded trinkets. They have an avian like skull and beak with yellow or orange eyes. Their stance ranged from hunched forward to a humanlike upright stance depending on the clan and genetic history, ranging in size from 5-7ft to a towering 8-9ft for the Captains. Spiracles line their collars with membranes that allow them to hold their breath. Most netu stick with the two arms and legs bodyplan but high ranked Netu such as Captains will have an additional, slightly smaller pair grafted below their original arms.

Osogo: Large hexapods they stand on four limbs, the frontmost pair used as powerful arms with large sturdy but simple hands. Standing at 15-18 feet at the shoulder when fully grown they tower over others constantly. They have four eyes, two facing forward with the other two placed on the sides allowing for a wide range of vision. Their large ears are quite expressive and mobile, movements and gestures of the ears used in much of their body language. They have relatively short but powerful jaws of blunt teeth for grinding the roots and tough fruits they evolved to eat. They have fur that grows denser in the winter and sheds in the spring, the eldest and matriarchs developing dense manes of wiry hair. Their furs are commonly pale whites, tans and darker browns and rarely black. A rare mutation similar to albinism in humans gives the osogo rare red fur and hair.

Osjiic: Towering humanoids they are densely muscled and broad. Coming from a high gravity world they stand typicaly 8-10ft tall with certain members growing to reported heights of 12-15ft tall with genetic tampering or cybernetic enhancement. Commonly sporting cybernetic prosthetics such as limbs or organs. Their skin is rough and gray, their blood an oily black. Males and females do not show sexual dimorphism in appearance of strength. They have six fingers with one opposing thumb.

Stonestar: A five-limbed radial species resembling an echinoderm the Stonestar are soft-skin and traditionally suited themselves in stone or chitin carved into segmented armor. Modern-day Cauldron forged armor is form fitting reducing their profile significantly. They possess five eyes on the dorsal side of their body, a mouth similar to a hagfishes at the end of each limb. Each limb of a stonestar grows a stingwhip like nematocyst they use for combat and hunting. From the center of their body to the end of each limb ranges from 5-7ft. Their stone armor was rarely decorated except for ceremonial instances and for shamans and chieftains but the modern stonestar have begun experimenting with different colors and patterns for their civilian armors.

Ructu: Humanoid crustaceans standing rarely about 4-5ft tall they are strong for their size but lack truly durable chitin hides that are lighter and more flexible. They have two eyes on short mobile stalks with sockets in the chitin of their faces, a complex set of mandibles with highly expressive chelicerae. Their chitin ranges from brown to green to blues and oranges depending on their ancestry. They occasionally suffer from albinism or melanistic disorders where their chitin is either bone white or a dark pitch.

Epikor: Humanoids vaguely resembling humans with similar ranges of skin tone they are typically slightly larger than a human with denser musculature. Their large eyes are highly sensitive to light, having evolved from a nocturnal semi-subterranean species. Their "hair" appears as thick sturdy spines on their limbs and faces, most epikor either trimming or permenantly removing the spines for convenience. They are sort of the obligatory rubber forehead alien.

Kosda: Repto-mammals they are tailless humanoids with highly developed forward facing eyes and an upright stature similar to humans. Their clawed five-fingered hands are surprisingly precise, the claws better suited to digging rather than slashing. Their scales range from striped and mottled greens, blacks, grays, duns, and occasionally red. They have orange scales while they are juveniles. They are varied in height, ranging from 4-7ft.

Esat: Short arthropod humanoids that stand 4-5ft tall they possess four wings made of keratin that allow them to hover and fly for extended periods of time. Their heads appear to posses a single massive eye but it actually formed of three conjoined compound eyes that grant them a very wide range of view. They have six-fingered hands and feet that work with equal dexterity. They have a pair of beetle-like mandibles they hide within a beak-like mouth, their language a mixture of clicking their mandibles and sign language that can involve up to all four limbs. Sexual dimorphic only with coloration the females are dark green or blue while makes are bright yellows, reds and other warm shades. (Sorta stand and fly like the Covenant Drones from Halo)

Tyrre: Tall humanoids they appear reptilian but are closer to mammals, their hide made up of overlapping segmented armored plates that range in dark grays, blacks, blues and rarely purple. They have short faces with powerful jaws of serrated teeth meant to tear and bloody, their faces sort of looking like a mix of a piranha and bulldog. Their hands have two dense claws and a dexterous long thumb that was used for hunting and locomotion from their evolution on a world with megaflora.

Yuyut: Repto-mammals with a vaguely humanoid bodyplan they walk and move similar to a gorilla or other earthly ape. From a high gravity world they walk on all fours, the front limbs supported by their knuckles but they can rear back and walk on their hind legs to use their arms for tasks or combat. Three long fingers with sturdy claws and a thumb for manipulating tools and combat their arms are longer than their legs. They have expressive faces with large almost theropod-like jaws. Their scales have a wide range of colors and patterns with tattooes and scarification common among their cultures. When knuckle-walking they are typically around the same height as a typical human but standing upright they range 8-11ft tall

Itru: Standing 4-5ft tall the Itru stand on a single foot and use a long pair of arms to knuckle-walk and hop forward on their strong leg. Three fingered they descended from tree-dwelling ancestors that learned to walk on the ground. They have conical beaks with a secondary pharyngeal beak they use to tear and chew food. They are able to speak similar to humans by expelling air through their vocal cords. Hairless they have what appears to be a type of scale that only covers their backs, the rest of their body simple skin that is commonly a range of violets to dark purples and blacks, their beaks and scales are typically a paler shade. They have three eyes on short stalks around their beak, with the top-most eyestalk being slightly longer and more expressive than the other two.

The Sunscale castes and Armatocere members would take too long to write out right now and I reeeeally need to get to bed lol.

A Storm Gate opens over the toxic world in the Bastion system, the Ahkam forces appearing to use the gravity well as a beacon. Another fleet emerges, the signal of an Ahkam serpent on board one of the battleships at its heart as sub-capitals seem to swarm around it. Their engines shine bright as they begin to accelerate toward Rukor to reinforce their lines as the Fury of the Wormstar slams into them with the Armada fleets at her back.

Plotting the ideal course to assist their comrades the fleet rushes forth. Their shields flicker faintly as they pass through a small stellar debris field and was mostly ignored as the sensors only detect space dust and ship debris from the battle that wiped out the initial picket fleet over the world. Small pieces pass through the shields attuned to halting rapidly accelerating kinetic rounds, asteroid pieces, or missiles to bounce harmlessly off the armored hulls.

Yet not all of the debris that strikes the hulls bounce off harmlessly, instead unfurling into semi-spherical Reconstructed as a dozen claws and pincers flail wildly to latch onto the ships like a parasite on a vastly larger organism. The Crit Crawls sink their claws into the hulls, thermal points securing them as they scurry across towards their targets ranging from the bases of weaponmounts, sensor clusters, and heavily around the engines.

The fleet passes through the debris field that had been seeded with thousands of the volatile Reconstructed, not appearing to detect their new stowaways. From a pocket of twisted light the Arc Disciple that once went by the name of Orvca watches the fleet race toward Rukor and clear the debris field far behind. With a gesture she watches as fire engulfs the hulls of the now distant fleet.

Explosive and Blister Crit Crawls hear that psionic command and their simple minds call out with a rapturous excitement as they rupture internal organs full of volatile and caustic liquids and several moments later they detonate. Their armored shells help work to shape and direct the blasts of explosive force and torrents of burning acid into their targets rather that into the void of space. Chaos gripped the fleet immediately as many of their ships found themselves crippled or dead in the water as engines and weapons fail, others venting atmosphere rapidly or listing and colliding with their fellows.

With a satisfied nod she turns away from the holoscreen and gives a command to the Pilots and the stealthship accelerates toward their next target. Elsewhere she can sense Predator Eiton and her sibling Disciple seeding the system with the dangerous Reconstructed.
>>
>>1773317
As chaos befell the fleets attacking Rukor the other invading force splits its numbers in an attempt to circumvent the dangerous asteroid belt and the fleets hidden within. Agona relays her commands to both the Obsidianborn and Reconstructed fleets from her Pyroclastic Destroyer at the heart of the picket fleets protecting the storm covered moon of Bastion. With the massive gas giant looming behind them the Wormstar Fingers reach up from the surface toward the large fleets amassed to defend them. A pair of the colossal Treeships drifted near her command ship, their armored hulls bristling with their Thorn fighters and weaponmounts that made the Obsidianborn and Stonestar thankful the floral warships were on their side.

With much of her fleets positioned within the asteroid belt and behind it Agona gives her command to engage the invaders as soon as their forces finally split. Her mind reaches out to the Lavafather who routes the psionic signals of his obisidanborn fleets to her, then to the Deep Rot and her brother Valresko. Between the pair of them and the assistance of the constructed intelligence the conjoined fleets race to engage their hated enemies.

Roll me 2d100 best of first 3 to defend against the Ahkam forces attempting to circumvent the asteroid belt.

It was an unorthodox maneuver the Ahkam were attempting in splitting up their forces but by avoiding the belt they were seeking to avoid the ambushes they knew were waiting for them. The two groups accelerated as they began to level off above and below the asteroid field, and as they predicted a near continuous barrage of missiles races toward them. Much of the explosives were detonated prematurely by their point-defense systems but occasionally a missile or two can slip past to detonate against their shields.

The Obsidianborn seemed annoyed with the Ahkam's cowardice and Agona watches in amusement as several large asteroids bigger than most capital ships unveil their massive engines and begin accelerating. Lacking shields but heavily reliant on the dense, reinforced stone, the asteroids moved faster than their size would entail. Missiles launch from ports hidden in the crevasses and kinetic rounds filled with molten stone are fired at the underbellies of the passing fleets. They were met with heavy fire as they charged for their ranks but nothing seemed to slow them even as portions of the stone armor were cracked and sublimated into glowing portions of melted rock.

Swerving out of the way of the reckless movements of the weaponized asteroids the Ahkam ships opened fire with their railguns as they crossed their line of fire, shattering several in the initial barrage. The Obsidianborn minds in command of the mobile asteroids receive their commands from Agona now that they were in the midst of their formations. Braking thrusters fire along with their maneuvering engines, slowing the massive craft but sending them into rapid spirals. From within the Obsidianborn roared out their psionic fury as streamers of molten stone and metal were launched from their hollow cores, their geokinetic abilities flinging the searing magma in a chaotic spray around them before they themselves erupt into multi-kiloton explosions that send sizeable fragments of the shattered asteroids careening wildly into the shields and paths of the Ahkam ships.

The unexpected attack threw much of their forces into disarray as swarms of strikecraft were washed away in the storms of magma and the shields of the sub-capitals flickered and failed under the onslaughts as their hulls were coated with rapidly cooling metal and stone that both melts and freezes weaponmounts into place. The capital ships push forward, still intent on their target of Bastion.

>cont
>>
>>1773864
They do not get very far as from the asteroid belts emerge the conjoined Reconstructed and Obsidianborn ships, their barrage of missiles and kinetic rounds racing forth with strikecraft flying in behind. Shields flicker as they either hold or fail, fire pluming against them as missiles strike and bright discharges of light and energy as kinetic rounds are obliterated or deflected. Intense dogfights break out as clouds of strikecraft from both sides tear at each other in twisting duels that leave shrapnel, fuel and blood trailing behind them.

Stonestar Dervish fighters, shaped much like their organic pilots, spin and twirl in maddening arcs and curves as they fight to defend their homeworld from another invasion. They fight well alongside Nails and Gunships, the Reconstructed vessels covering the larger and slightly slower stone and metal craft as they hunted down shuttles and heavy fighters while driving off swarms of esat fighters and gunships.

Lights from countless explosions and energy weapon discharges illuminate the darkness of space, shades of Arc and Necrotic light creating a kaleidoscope against the oranges and reds of flame and weaponized magma.

An Ahkam battleship with the signature of an Ahkam on board is isolated and surrounded by swarms of Obsidianborn craft once its massive engines are disabled by sheets of magma melting into them. Dervishes land on their five wings turned limbs, effectively becoming spaceworthy mechs for the Stonestar pilots that tear into the hull and weaponmounts of the unfortunate warship. More of the Obsidianborn vessels race to latch onto the hull or launch boulder-like boarding pods.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4TtTQPBTzrQ

Agona watches with almost a parental pride as Stonestar commandos and compact Obsidianborn soldiers flood into the halls of the ship to clash with Tyrre and Epikor crews. While the forces of the Ahkam fleet were battlehardened veterans and lived their lives learning and perfecting combat in the void of space, including boarding and repelling actions, they were hardly a comparison to those rapidly cutting them down in the confines of their own ship. Evolving to fight and live in the cramped tunnels under Bastions surface the Stonestar were masters at fighting in such confined environs, slipping over and around each other like liquid as they became a tide of hardlight shields and weaponry that overwhelm the defenders.

>cont
>>
>>1773880
They had already forced their way to the sealed bulwark protecting the Ahkam serpent by the time the first Intruder Coffins were latching onto the hull to unleash their Reconstructed cargoes to assist their allies. Stonestar cling and scurry across the heavy door, dragging their hardlight blades through the metal in a concerted effort to cut through the last barrier to their prize.

Your mind is alerted to the events by Agona, the Punisher's pride apparent through the psionic link as you watch several smaller Obsidianborn link their limbs together as they conjoin into a single large combatant. Rearing back they bring three of the black stone fists into the weakened metal, tearing it from its hinges with the barrage of blows.

Battering down the thick door they were greeted by a barrage of weaponfire that chipped and scoured at their armor. Stonestar and Obsidianborn rush past the larger construct into the onslaught. Much like the other Ahkam battleships the bridge was a tiered ziggurat with the coiled form of a dark blue Ahkam snarling and hissing indignantly from their throne at he peak. Wielding both Necrotic and geokinetic weaponry the boarders attacked the defending soldiers as they swarmed up the ledges and tiers.

Epikor, kosda and esat hunkered down behind consoles and walls as they open fire against the tide of enemies rushing into the chamber and scrambling over the dead and dying to get to them. The Ahkam snarls as Arc energy crackles across their scales, errant bolts of the brilliant light striking around it, "Blasphemy! You dare threaten a daughter of Quantac'Vrix?! We should have scoured your worlds when we had the chance! Your kind will perish!" she screeches out before unleashing a spray of Arc bolts from her open maw that strikes just as many of her servants as the Stonestar and Obsidianborn that race for her.

The Ahkam almost seemed surprised by the overwhelming attack, the increasing energies of the Arc Surge throwing off her control. She does not let it slow her down though as she rears back for another blast that rips through friend and foe aline when she unleashes the build-up of Arc lightning.

The bridge filled with the smell of cooking meat and melting metal and plasteel from her attacks. Yet among the Stonestar still cramming in the large chamber Agona recognizes a Stonestar Chieftain she had personally helped train. Clad in heavy powerarmor that was a mix of Obsidianborn and Reconstructed designs, they launch themselves forward as the geokinetic obsidian adorning the armor glows with an innerfire as they spin through the air directly for the Ahkam.

>cont
>>
>>1773888
Recoiling in shock the serpent does not move in time as they are tackled by the larger than average stonestar. Pincers that glow red hot sink into her scales for purchase as other limbs extend blades of jagged obsidian that glows with the same heat, each slash and tear sending blood and steam into the air. Alarmed by this sudden attacker the Ahkam surges with Arc energy in an attempt to free themselves from the chieftain but the Glutton crystal and Necrotic core integrated in to the armor do their best to counteract the nearly overwhelming energy even though they feel as if they were about to be cooked alive.

Stubbornly the chieftain merely continues its assault even as the Ahkam begins to twist and buck, slamming themselves and the stonestar against the ziggurats peak and consoles that surrounded them. They tumble from the peak until they crash into the throng of stonestar and obsidianborn. The serpents shouts of anger and rage quickly became screams of agony and even terror as the invaders swarmed over her still Arc charged form, claws, blades, and weapons tearing into the unfortunate victim.

Finally her screams cease and the combat ends as the last of the ahkam soldiers are butchered by the remorseless Stonestar. Amidst the throng where the serpent had fallen there lay many dead stonestar and broken obsidianborn but rising from the crowd was the severed head of the Ahkam, held aloft by the Stonestar Chieftain in their half-melted armor and intense injuries, but victorious over their former enslaver.

Already you have plans to immortalize this feat of the Stonestar Hero in the Garden of Remembrance, as the conjoined efforts of the Obsidianborn and Reconstructed fleets manage to temporarily stall the advance of the invading fleets at the outer rim of the asteroid belt.

In the Urdir system Officer Dretst lets out a sigh of relief at the news that Rethak was en route to take command of the defenses. Standing in the command center of Legion Home the large chamber was a flurry of activity as Legionnaires sat and worked alongside Pilots and demi-Think Tanks. Holoscreens filled the room displaying a staggering amount of data concerning the invading forces and the battles the Reconstructed fleets were fighting while others displayed the locations and status of Legionnaires deployed across the sector.

Dretst mused to herself on the situation in a brief moment of calm. On one hand she was relieved he would be taking the stress of the situation onto his shoulders but she also felt like it was a missed opportunity to truly prove herself worthy of the Armada and Legion. She resigned herself to hold no ill will toward Rethak and resolved herself to finding her glory another day. For now she would continue her duty until the Commander arrived. Briefly she touched the emblem of the Wormstar emblazoned near the collar of her suit and muttered a faint prayer to the Wormstar with a gentle clicking of her mandibles.

Her moment of calm was shattered as a multitude of alarms sound, gravity and energy sensors reporting a sudden shadow of a gravity well and concentration of Arc energy forming over Legion's Home. Moments later footage from ships in orbit flicker on the holoscreens and show the shadow of a Storm Gate billowing and forming in the midst of the picket fleet. Arc lightning jumps and strikes multiple ships as they attempt to clear the area of the rapidly growing stormcloud that flashes with light.

From within the Storm Gate emerged the forms of an invasion fleet, the Arc crackling along their hulls as they immediately engage with the picket fleet. Already in orbit several of the ships begin shedding dropships that fall toward the planet and moments later drop pods are sent hurtling planetside as they leave burning trails in the sky, aimed toward the fortresses of Legion's Home.

Clicking her mandibles in anger Dretst wistfully curses herself for her thoughts of glory before beginning to shout out commands in preparation for the invaders attack.

Considering it's probably been less than a year since we first got out and we have already made a ring platform around our world it should not be impossible for us to go as large scale as large scale can go

With us having all 4 powers, each feeding off the next like 4 serpents eating the tale of the next, so to is our capital dominion form the same shape in a cosmic display of our glory

Honestly I think the only real limits are building supplies. With a bit of research into using void to fix the problem most super structures have if collapsing from there own gravity
And some research into how to optimize a biosphere of such a construct

But even then the biggest problem is supply. It would take more mass than is present in most solar systems
But if made it would have more living and manufacturing space than the rest of the galaxy put together

The atmosphere of Legion's Home was toxic, few races able to survive more than a few minutes of exposure before suffocating. Legionnaires hunkered down in their bunkers and looked out of window to where they saw streaks of fire falling from the skies to disappear behind the ridges of ice and stone that made up the jagged mountain range. Missiles streaked up from the surface like glowing motes of flames that detonate against the storm of toxic ice as they strike dropships or drop pods.

Against the horizon there was a flash of green light as an orbital lance attacks at the invading fleet in orbit. There was a rumble that shook the mountain side as another lance closer to the fortresses unleashed its own bolt of Necrotic energy that punches through the swirling clouds. There was a momentary gap in the layer of clouds that showed the night sky twinkling with countless explosions and energy discharges in orbit but the winds quickly seal the wound.

Reports from cyclops and gargoyles braving the storm show that the Ahkam had established a beachhead using drop pods repurposed into temporary bunkers. Hovertanks and personnel carriers lift off from the ground and begin traversing the rough landscape as their nimble drop mechs leap nimbly between the outcroppings of ice but several times they stumble in the storm before righting themselves. The very nature of the world the Legion had taken as their home fought to drive off the invaders as a group of vehicles and several mechs accidentally set off a landslide, disappearing under the avalanche before they could attempt escaping.

Cresting the ridge to the long plains and low ridges that lead up to the fortresses the first mech and hovertanks were met with a barrage of weaponsfire and missiles. The approach was well known to the the Legion who used it in their training, a small cheer going up from a nearby bunker as they watch the foremost mech that dashing across the field was engulfed in a ball of green Necrotic flame as it passed over a landmine. The mech stumbles out, the flame clinging to the chassis in portion, but it only manages to travel a few meters before a cluster of javelins launched from the bunker rain down upon it, lodging into its armor and the ground around it before the explosive charges detonate that leaves a smoking, shredded wreck in a blasted circle.

Those in the bunker had no time to cheer as they rushed and dove into the tunnels linking the bunkers and pillboxes. Moments later the bunker is struck by a particle beam from a large hovertank that melts through the stone and metal walls followed by several missiles that blast the weakened structure from the mountainside.

I have a bad feeling about this
>>
>>1774531
As the lines of vehicles and mechs rushed toward the first fortress the dirt and snow burst upwards as hidden Reconstructed erupted from the ground. Brutes bellowed out their challenges as they swung massive clubs or axes with Necrotic flames leaking from their open maws, others opening fire with Flayers that grow from their shoulders which unleash blasts that rip away the heavy armor plating molecule by molecule. Manglers rise up, their powerful limbs whipping out to ensnare passing mechs or tanks. Their beaks and claws tearing into them like large predators while others grapple and constrict their foes. One of the multi-limbed Reconstructed grabs the mech it had been fighting in several of its claws and with a powerful spin of its body sends the construct hurtling into the side of an armored carrier.

As the large Reconstructed waged their battles their smaller kin surged forth from the tunnels as they ambush the vehicles. Clouds of Scourges fill the air and the toxic storm then descend upon the vehicles, spear and blades hacking and impaling as they search for the pilots and drivers. Yet as they tore open the vehicles and mechs they found only the bare minimum of crews, the personnel carries empty. Many of those they did find were sickened or injured but all obviously terrified as they shout out in their moments before they either suffocate or were butchered. A second examination of destroyed vehicles and mechs showed that they too had previous battle damage that had been only partially repaired before the battle.

This info was of immediate concern to Officer Dretst as the reports came to her, her mind racing as the thought back to her time in the Confederate Navy of details for Ahkam strategies. Yet as she began shouting orders for a counter-attack against the beachhead where she suspected the true fighting force to be assembling she felt something brush past her and a voice whisper in her mind.

Her symbiot immediately detected the psionic intrusion but could not decipher what had been said before Officer Dretst slammed her fist on her console and her voice carries out through fortresses and tunnels

"INCOMING BOMBARDMENT! Get to the shelters and engage the shields!"

Her voice rang out, sending every undead and living subject in the fortress and fields surrounding them to immediately rush toward the tunnels and shelters as localized shields rise up over the fortresses, proper shielddome construction being interrupted by the invasion itself.

Prophetically the fleets in orbit watch as a battleships with an Ahkam presence on board sends a single missile towards the surface. Even as it streaked through the atmosphere the sensors both in space and on the surface could detect the massive amounts of Arc energy contained in the weapon, a streamer of distorted light marking its path.

>cont
>>
>>1774556
Hundreds of Legionnaires, both hardened veterans and green recruits, huddled together with the Reconstructed in their shelters buried deep in the mountains heart as they waited while offering up prayers to Jadyk and the Wormstar for protection. Even though they were expecting it nothing could've prepared them for the impact nor its effect. The world seemed to heave around them, many tossed and thrown violently as the world shook and rumbled.

From orbit the effect was almost immediately apparent as the Arc weapon detonates with a force many times the strength of a Void Nova as it blows away the local storm with a dome of surging Arc light. The blast levels mountains and vaporizes a portion of a glacier, the shockwave causing many landslides and avalanches in the mountain range of the Legions fortresses at the edge of it's blast radius.

From the Charnel Vault you look on in both surprise and building anger at the powerful weapon they unleashed but most of all you quite alarmed by the events surrounding the attack. As the Arc weapon had plummeted out of the sky it had been aimed true toward the Legions fortresses, likely tracking the beachhead of matyred soldiers, but something unseen had altered its trajectory high in the upper atmosphere. While it burned with reentry its once perfect course jolted with a flash of Arclight and swerved only a few degrees but that changed in trajectory had spared the mountaint range the Legionnaires the brunt of the strike.

What alarmed you more was the voice that Dretst had heard, a voice that her symbiot finally pulled from her mind as she reorganized the survivors and took stock of damages only moments after the impact. A voice you recognized as it had once scraped at your skull like an icepick on board the corvette with the Ahkam serpents.

"They send the Arc to kill the Legion. Protect them, the Necrolyte Legion must survive!"

Interestingly enough the only issue stopping this would be metal production.

Due to Biomass farms and Cauldrons we could design the structure around the farms and cauldrons so it is self building, if we could some how also generate metal then it would be no issue are construction would increase exponentially the larger it becomes especially if construction started at multiple points that then link up together as they reach out to one another.

>>
>>1774558
As power began to return to the emergency bunkers Dretst's heart sinks as she hears another alarm about an approaching gravity well but the alarms shift to a welcoming alert as the fleets in orbit send in their reports.

Only lightseconds away from Legion's Home and the invasion fleet fighting the dwindling picket forces there was a burst of light and radiation as a large fleet emerges. A Mirrorsoul Battleship at it's heart opens fire with it's spinal cannons and moments later an Ahkam battlecruiser chasing a group of cruisers is snapped in half by the impact of the kinetic rounds infused with Necrotic energy.

Commander Rethak shouts his orders as his fleet arrives in a series of flashes and move to engage the Ahkam fleet, the forces from Horizon's Drop racing to engage the invaders and drive them from orbit.

Far below in the depths of Legion's Home cheering filled the tunnels as Dretst called out reporting the arrival of the Commander and his fleet.

The Ahkam invasion force had begun organizing themselves to intercept the larger fleets en route from the inner worlds where they were mopping up the Ahkam fleet there. This put the newly arrived fleet at the flank of the majority of their ships and they struggle to bring their vessels about in time.

Fresh from Horizon's Drop Rethak's fleet moves in while opening fire with their long range spinal cannons, the Necrotically infused slugs leaving ripples of Necrotic flame in their wake as they pass through the Arc charge the weapon had left even high in orbit. They strike into the ships, many punching through the shields while others ricochet into other vessels or off into the cosmic distance. Caught on their flank many of the ships whose shields failed in the initial barrage suffer heavily from the follow-up attack, the engines of several flaring then either failing outright or detonating in balls of flame.

Unrelenting in their attack the kinetic salvo was followed up by a tide of missiles and strikecraft as hangar battlecruisers rush at the front of the fleet. The Ahkam force hadn't been expecting an adversary to strike at them so close on their flank and in those precious moments of chaos the reinforcement fleet inflicts serious injuries upon them. Destroyers live up to their namesake as they rushed in behind the battlecruisers shedding strikecraft like leaves in the wind, their powerful spinal cannons honing in on the enemy capital ships to pummel away at their armor. Groups of cruisers moved in packs with the frigates and corvettes, attacking in concentrated strikes to isolate groups of the invasion force for the slower capitals to single out.

The Ahkam warships were not completely helpless however, their seasoned crews maintaining themselves even as more and more of their comrade vessels fell before the onslaught. Enhanced by the Arc Surge their capital ships were able hold back some of the Armada to avoid being completely overwhelmed. Those that survived the attacks from Rethak began to accelerate away from their attackers rather than face them head on but as they fled across the curve of the planet Rethak feels a chill wash over him.

His heart of Voidflame, a roiling inferno that rivaled the strongest Voidknight Disciples, felt burdened suddenly as he stood on the deck of the Mirrorsoul Battleship he'd taken for a flagship. His hand clutches his skull as he feels the Arc bearing down on him suddenly and a voice like knives whispering in his mind.

"Shine the light of the Wormstar, ignite the anchor! Foes unseen hunger for your flame and the souls of the Legion, make them regret interfering with your glory!"

>cont
>>
>>1774784
The pain was gone as fast as it had appeared. Looking up from where he had clutched his skull as the message tore across his mind he sees the lingering motes of distorted light as the Arc presence fades and his own flames erupt back to fullness without the oppressive weight of the Arc. Pilots looked at him in concern and the Immortal netu Arcdancer stares at him, beak agape as they were struck awed by the encounter. Shaking his head Rethak begins barking new commands and Pilots rapidly work to enforce them as the other two Immortals with them stare in alarm at the pair of elemental wielders.

The heavy armor plating of the Mirrorsoul Battleship slide back from their quasiphasic overlap, pulling back and opening like a blooming flower to reveal the densely complicate crystalline core. Flanking each side of the ship were a handful of Stake Cruisers that unveiled their own crystalline cores that glimmer with building energy. A flash of light flares from each ship, washing out across the battlefield then fading. Moments later it flashes again then fades only to flash again slightly sooner. As the reality anchors flooded the void of space with their light that washed over the fleeing Ahkam fleet as well.

As the light washed over them the crew of an Intruder Coffin latched onto the side of a damaged destroyer hear a psionic scream in their skulls as the vessel carved into the ships hull. Trolls and Stingers flail at the sudden scream but as they turn they see a smear of green liquid seeping out of a panel and as the flash of light washed over them once more they found themselves no longer alone as a gleaming silhouette of a convulsing figure appears before them. The next flash causes another scream as the partially incorporeal creature that was phased through a portion of their bulkhead was forced into momentary solidity to painful effect. Upon the next flash the Reconstructed were prepared as they swung their blades in time with the pulsing of the light and were rewarded with a shriek and spray of ectoplasm as they hit something solid for the briefest of moments and the Wraith quickly flees from its attackers into the void of space.

The Reconstructed that had already boarded various Ahkam ships began to notice more of the ghostly interlopers appearing in the halls of the Dynasty vessels. Their appearance sent a panic through the Ahkam troops but the Reconstructed forced their own spikes of fear to subside with your personal urging. They fight in unison, turning their weapons against the now panicked and trapped Wraiths in time with the pulsing of the reality anchor pulses.

From a distance Rethak watches as Wraiths flee en masse from the Ahkam vessels, their ethereal forms solidifying into shocking realness in time with the pulses as they struggled to escape. Nails pursue but the Wraiths retaliate by phasing through their hulls to drag the Pilots, stretching and threading their physical forms through the strikecraft in a violently painful display of their reality twisting capabilities. Despite the speed of the Reality Anchor ships pursuing them the Wraiths defied normal physics and outpaced them. Appearing to reach a safe distance they each begin tearing rips into realities fabric and slither into them like slugs down a stormdrain one by one as the Ahkam fleet falls into further decay.

There was a shout of alarm from behind Rethak and he spins, Voidflame erupting around his fists as the Immortals move back from the forms of two Wraiths struggling to pull themselves through the ceiling of the bridge. They twist and writhe as if trying to squeeze through an opening too small as they let out psionic wails that make the corporeal undead flinch long enough for them to slip into the chamber. Bodies half-unseen and fading periodically from view they twitch and distort violently before both their faces lock onto Rethak, alien eyes glaring at him and once more a psychic voice floods into his mind as they scream.

Time for the Commander to give a live demonstration on why he is the Chief
>>

While Wraiths had been far down on his list of potential adversaries that day Rethak was not about to complain. The first of the Wraiths lunged at him with limbs that move partially unseen at strange angle but with a ripple of Void energy he leaps backwards over the console he had been working at. The incorporeal limb phased through the metal and bones causing it to bubble and hiss in its passing. A sphere of twisting Void energy gathers in his palm as he flings it toward the Wraith, the orb darting erratically from side to side as it tracked the Wraith as it sways and swerves but the attack strikes true causing a spray of ectoplasm to splatter against the console and ceiling as the sphere bursts with Voidflame and a psychic scream filled their skulls.

The Arcdancer unsheathes and swings their sword forged from the tailblade of an Ahkam in the brief moment it took to cross the few feet toward the other Wraith, Arc energy crackling along the edge. The slice leaves an afterimage of the weapon as it slashes in time with the pulsing of the Reality Anchor to hit something solid for only the briefest of moments before the blade phases through the Wraith trailing it's ectoplasmic blood. Emboldened and enhanced by the Arc Surge the Immortal shouts out a warcry in the Wormtongue as they press their attack against the Wraith, slashing and feinting with the curved blade as Arclight crackles across their armor.

Throwing his hand forward as Voidflames engulf it Rethak gives a shout as he issues a spray of the volatile energy from his palm. The sheet of turbulent ultraviolet flames forces the charging Wraith to recoil, almost folding impossibly in on itself but it uncoils with shocking speed as it darts out of the way, a tendril lashing forward at the Commander. With a grunt of pain he feels the incorporeal appendage pass painfully through his forearm as he threw it up to block his face.

When the beacon pulsed the Wraith found their limb trapped in the momentary solidity fused with the osjiic Immortals limb. With a flick of his wrist he wraps the tendril around his hand, ignoring the coldness that sucks at his flame with each touch, and gives a mighty pull. Voidflames engulf his free fist as the Wraith is yanked toward him as he rears back and slams the burning fist into where he suspected the Wraiths face to be.

His fist was met with a satisfying, if ultimately brief, moment where it strikes what felt like solid flesh before he nearly staggers as the Wraiths body flops ungracefully backwards as the Voidflames seem to cling to its incorporeal flesh like real flames. The psychic scream of pain amused the Legionnaire as he charged after it with another spray of the ultraviolet flames from his palm, not seeming to care as the energies rip at the consoles and bone railings of the bridge.

The Arcdancer was joined by the other two Immortals, a human and kesh, who attacked with their claws and thermal vibroswords. The Spinal Tap symbiots fused directly with their bodies allowed them to time their attacks perfectly with the pulsing of the Reality Anchors, each attack leaving more ghostly wounds on the now severely confused Wraith. The Arc infused attacks however, did not appear to require the Anchors pulsing to damage the entity and the Arcdancer becomes a blur as they unleashed a flurry of attacks against the Wraith.

With a scream of indignant rage the Wraith coiled itself tightly into a compressed sphere only to burst out in a spinning burst of flailing limbs that knocks all three backwards as bladeless slices appear across their forms. The Immortal netu jumps back to their feet, hardly minding their wounds even as their hand lay several meters away. The Arcdancer snarls out a curse in the Wormtongue as they see the Wraith attempting to crawl its way to escape, their claws ripping at the fabric of reality in desperation despite the Reality Anchor in the vessel preventing that route.

Stabbing the point of their sword into the deck they plant their feet and thrust forth both arms, Arc lightning leaping from their hand and stump to strike the Wraith. The attacks send it into convulsions that make it twist in and out of reality while bending at impossible angles as it tries to escape but the Netu focuses on the Arc Surge and channels its wrath into the ethereal foe, managing to hold it in place for the time being.

Rethak felt almost excited as he brawled with the Wraith, his punches and kicks wreathed in the Voidflame making the Wraith recoil. It's attacks did leave its damage though, twisted scars and misshapen armor showing the path of it's incorporeal strikes. But where once such attacks would have easily slain him, they merely annoyed him now. His body fully attuned with the Void and Necrotic he no longer had to care about his power consuming him from the inside out and it gave him a sense of freedom.

Bringing his hands together in a mighty clap of rippling Voidlight the Wraith was violently compressed for a brief moment as he strikes with the gravitic forces long enough to stun it. Darting forward he thrusts his hands at its face and somehow manages to find purchase as his entire body erupts with Voidflames.

The psychic scream of the Wraiths fill their minds, Pilots and Think Tanks recoiling violently, as the pair of ghostly attackers were overwhelmed with the elemental attacks. Almost in unison the pair of Wraiths began to vaporize before their eyes (for those that had eyes at least), the Arc and Void seeming to sublimate portions of their targets.

From Horizon's Drop you watched, pride filling you as you watched Rethak and the Arcdancer eliminate their would-be assassins. While somewhat disappointed you hadn't had reality traps installed in the battleship you think this was a preferable outcome nonetheless.

Rethak brings the rapidly disintegrating Wraith close to his face, their half-seen alien eyes flicking in and out of reality between the fingers embedded in their ghostly flesh and growls, "Your souls are forfeit, give yourselves to despair and embrace oblivion for your sins," as he gives one last burst of Voidflame that engulfs them both, incinerating the Wraith.

At the same time the Arcdancer gave a shout as there was a clap of thunder and the Wraiths form bursts into a messy spray of sizzling ectoplasm splattering across the bridge.

There was a few moments as the only sounds were the crackling of Arc energy dancing across the netu Immortals body and the broken consoles that had been fried the attack, and of the Voidflames that still shrouded Rethak. Finally the Commander lets out a breath despite his lack of needing to do so, the Voidflames shrinking to a ripple of light around his form once he was sure there were no more Wraiths moving to strike. A small crater had formed around him, the bone and metal of the floor warped and charred from the intensive energies he had expelled.

The Arcdancer took a few moments longer as they struggled to pull back from the Arc Surge but after nearly a tense minute the crackling lessens until it fade completely from their form except for the occasional spark. They fall back and sit on the ground with a grunt while leaning against a console as Rethak approaches, a hand held over the wound in his midsection that began to leak the necrotically charged fluid that substituted as blood for the Immortals.

The other two Immortals move over to help the netu stand and Rethak begins to speak when your own ethereal image appears before them, head bowed, "Well done, my warriors. Be proud of this victory, the Wraiths are dangerous foes. Relish this victory briefly, there is still much to tend to."

The Immortals salute, the Arcdancer unable to hold back a laugh as the stump thumps against their chest rather than a fist. You give a proud nod to Rethak and you feel his satisfaction through the psionic link at your approval.

>Success!

The wraiths call us abominations, so I'm going to guess that us taking the ark would make them more actively attack us

Meaning well is good. What they have done for us is good. What they wish us to do may not be good. Also, even if it could be considered Nekris,he seems more...lively than usual. Short of the voice or the three other ones giving us a straight answer that disproves our worries,I would prefer to wait till we know more.
In regards to the wraiths calling us abominations, that dosnt mean that taking the Arc too soon pushes us over the edge. Also, having the Wraiths attack us more is one of the worse things that could Happen. If Bitch Tits herself shows up,we are fucked. No ifs, ands or buts. She would utterly destroy everything we have. I want the power,I just want answers first and foremost. Remeber what happened when we took in the Solar.Adding another ball to juggle in our core could be beyond our current form or some other problem that would take time to fix.

Idea quasiphasic air locks. The air lock is a solid wall, and never truly opens, but instead used quasiphasic to become permeable, people pass through like the osmosis of a cell membrane.
The bonuses is that it is impossible for unwanted guests to enter, as the airlock is very selective in what it lets in. Not even a single molecule of un wanted mass can pass.
And the walls could be made extremely thick because there would be no need for room in the ship for the door to open into, saving space and mass that could be used to make the door wall thicker still
Unfortunately it would require living to have air masks or pressure suites when passing through a thick wall

Also we should make it a so that all of our reality beckons randomly go off when the ship is not in combat, stealth, or in a situation where setting it off would be actively detrimental. Because who knows how often we have wraiths lurking about and spying on us
there were times when grave asked us to roll 1d100 for unspecified reasons, some of them could have been for detecting wraiths in the area
One possible downside is that it would give away the locations of our core worlds to anyone looking our direction
>>
>>1775494
There may be interactions with the ark surge, the ghost of nekris, and is taking the power that we don't know of but would be in our favor
One possible is that the ghost of nekris, strong in the ark surge helps us regulate and control the ark as we take it, saving us a good amount of time and frustration
One possible although unlikely example is we don't actually get the power but instead when we go to take it nekris ghost used our connection to the akham flesh and uses the akhams life and power to become reborn

I just pulled these out of my ass but the timing of the ark surge, the death of nekris, his soul bound weapon disappearing, and him talking to us helping us and advising us to take the power can not be ignored

All im asking is for us to wait until this important battle is over before we make such an important and potentially dangerous decision. Patiance is all I ask.
>>
>>1775705
Why not just try and ask him for more information. He can contact us, he is somehow aware of what is going on more than we are. So lets just yell into the void and listen for an answer
>>
>>1775967
I support this. After the battle we should ask for him and the three other voices to explain themselves. If they bothered speaking to us,the least that they can do is make their wants,if not their intentions, clear.
>>
>>1776151
Why not ask right now? The sooner we get more info the better, and we need that info before we fight the matriarch
>>
>>1776188
You've got a point about the Matriarch. The big decision is about whether to attempt to seize the Arc from her directly, so we have to decide before the critical moment.

You know it wouldn't be to hard to add a passive resource collection to our ships

The idea is similar to a Ram ship that collects interstellar hydrogen for fuel, as long as it's going fast enough to collect enough hydrogen it never runs out

But in our case we don't need hydrogen we need metal, and in a soler system there is plenty in the form of dust

Here is how we collect it, on the front of our ships we have a thin quasiphasic Layer that filters mass like a quasiphasic air lock dose. Metal gose in and the rest doesn't. Behind the quasiphasic layer is a mass of small bug like things that gather the metal and take it to the needed part of ships. This metal can be used for ship repare our resource collection
>>
>>1778870
I don't think we've gone far enough into mining metal the normal way to make vacuuming space dust worthwhile. I'd think it would be a small amount.
>>

But it's a constant passive way that we can boost our output as we mine the normal way.

Or just make Ran collection ships that used fluctuating magnetic rods to gather stellar and interstellar hydrogen for fuel and then sell that fule or the tech to the pirate clans for metal

The down side of ram ships is they can only collect fule when traveling slower than light

>But it's a constant passive way that we can boost our output as we mine the normal way.

It carries its own opportunity cost. It will either make the ships weaker, more expensive, or both. It's not a free bonus.
>>

Good point, Ive been reading a lot of classic sci fi and whenever I find an interesting tech idea I try to work it into our system. It has limited success so far
But still the idea of a variety of it would be useful to the pirate clans

This song is great and somehow makes the whole scene that much more epic, yet hilarious at the same time as all of the opposition gets swatted aside like insects.

This was a wild fucking thread, thanks for running it Graves.
>>
>>1781360
I agree. Thanks grave

We should check on David after this battle is over. See how the squirt's doing. We haven't seen the kid in a while and he was one of the first born in our empire.

I WAS WORKING AND MISSED IT ALL REEEEEEEEEE

I loved how eerie yet entirely fitting it was. Especially for Ruscuv.

Heh akky is gonna be maaaaaaaad. Shit we beed to figure out a way to bathe an area in reality anchor constantly, or atleast the interior of ships with it.
Graves is it possible to create engrams of named characters? Like a back up so to speak

Got some time drawing!

Added in some personal touch. My headcanon before the descriptions was that they're much stockier and shorter, turns out that's not the case.

Thought their head would look like an organic Geth, but the hands kinda puzzle me.
>>
>>1784470
Very very nice. Really like the eyes

>>1784484
Nice. Their sickle claws are similar to that shape if a little bit thicker I think. Their other fingers though, two line up next to the sickle and two "thumbs". Sorta like a humans hand if the middle finger is a big raptors claw and the pinky is another thumb. Their feet have a slightly modified shape with most of the weight placed on the front three twos (the sickle in the middle too) with the thumbs used alternatively as heels or for gripping tree branches.

The zygodactyl might be over complicating them now that I think about it.

I like the shape of the head and the eye but the sensory plates were closer around the eye and slightly bigger and almost armor-looking even though they are actually kinda frail and sensitive. Losing a one or more of the sensory plates is viewed similarly to a human losing an eye in terms of disability.

These are great so far, thanks for taking the time to do this

Ay thanks Grave. Will fix the Kesh soonish after I upload this.

>>1784484

They might not look intimidating in this pic, but in my head their garb is what makes them much more intimidating. Also imagine a skellingtonized one, and that'll be Nekris.
>>
>>1784504
Oh that's a perfect baseline netu. Since I based the netu on sort of a mix of Metroid Space Pirate and Chozo this is perfect

excellent!
And now, for the fixed Kesh.
>>
>>1784517
That's a good Kesh. They evolved to be apex predators on their world, swinging around in the mega-trees of their low-grav world. Their claws were used for hunting, climbing, fighting, and eventually tool-making
>>
Welp I finally finish reading the archive today and miss the end of a live thread. Guess i go read ghoul civ quest now.

Is it time yet
