"Well, he seems to be in a foul mood." Kami notes, rubbing his shoulder a bit where Raditz had bumped into him. You glance over at the Guardian, wondering if he's being sarcastic or not.

"Should I go after him?" You ask. "I mean, he really wanted for mister Goku to meet his daddy, but then that big pink guy showed up and ruined everything." Who was that guy anyways?

Kami rubs his chin as he thinks. "I'm not sure Saff, a part of me wants to tell you to chase after him, maybe try to help him. But sometimes people just need to be left alone." Kami turns to you. "By the way, I was going to wait till after everyone was done in the Pendulum room, but would you like to try and use it yourself?"

"What for?"

"You say that you don't remember anything past a year ago, but if you could recall exactly where you were from when you can remember, we might be able to find some clues as to what your past holds."

You look off to where you sense Raditz, part of you wanting to go and comfort or console or do something for the man, but an even stronger part of you wants to know more about your past. "...Let's do that Kami." You decide, trying to put on a determined face. "I've been wanting to know who I am for a long time now."

Kami smiles at you. "Who you are and who you choose to be are two very different things Saff, I hope you realize that."

Well that made a whole lotta' nonsense, you think. "Um, okay. So we just gotta' wait for the others to get out right? How much longer you think that'll be?"

Kami looks to wards the Pendulum room, closing his eyes for a second. "...Not much longer. Without Raditz there the others are having a bit more trouble dealing with Bardock's group on their own." He pauses, a frown developing on his face. "Not to mention the big pink man you mentioned earlier is causing problems."

"Yeah, that guy was a meanie." You growl, clenching your fists. "If I ever get that strong I'm gonna' punch him in the schnozz!" That gets a laugh out of Kami, which makes you happier. The two of you decide to wait it out near the entrance to the Pendulum room, mister Popo bring you both some water. "So Kami, I've been wondering." He turns to you, waiting for you to continue. "...about mister Raditz, do you think it's possible for him to ever be a good guy?"

Kami sips his water in silence, going over your question. "That is a difficult question to answer Saff. Many of Goku's closest friends were once his enemies, your master Tien being one of the fiercest besides Piccolo." He glances at you, looking over your reaction. "I take it Tien has already told you as such?"

"Yeah, he said he used to be a bad person, then Goku and mister Roshi helped him be a better one. He told me people can change."

"Some have it easier than others." Kami mumbles, and a loud roar echoes throughout the lookout as you hear mister Piccolo stomping around. Oooooh, sounds like someone got beat.

"Um, Saff perhaps you'd better-"

"Give mister Piccolo a big smile? You got it!" You happily stand up, walking past Kami as he puts his head in his hands and get ready to greet Piccolo. Boy he must REALLY be mad with how much his power's flaring up. The big green machine stomps out, and the first thing he sees if your glowing happy face.

Huh, he seems to only get angrier at that. Weird. "Hi mister Pickl-PICCOLO!" You catch yourself. "Did you have a fun time?"

"...nnnnnnno." He growls out, teeth grinding together as he looks down at you.

"Oh." You and he stand there in silence for a bit. "...you wanna' hug?"

"I'm leaving now." Piccolo grunts out, stepping past you with a little blush on his face.

"Okay, have a good day!" You shout after him, waving your hand happily. In no time at all you can feel the others stepping out too.

"Ahhhh man." Krillin rubs his bald head in frustration. Clearly something happened that he isn't happy about. "That was embarrassing."

"Embarrassing doesn't even begin to cover what happened." Tien sighs, followed closely by Launch and Chiaotzu. "And at least you weren't constantly hit on."

"Razzmfrazzm bimbo monkey bitch." Launch mutters under her breath, the special suit she's wearing clanking with each step. "Gonna' show her next time."

You don't know what a bimbo is, but you can guess it isn't something good. You and Gohan wave to each other as the two of you pass. "Hey Gohan, things didn't go too well huh?"

"No, we ended up getting split up." He looks a little sad, so you give him a quick hug to cheer him up. "What's weird though is this big pink guy showed up, and he just started attacking everyone."

"Same thing happened to me and Raditz." You tell him.

"Say uh, Saff, where is Raditz anyways?" Goku asks, looking around for his brother.

You jab a finger off in the direction you last saw Raditz. "He flew off, wasn't happy with how things went down." You pause. "...maybe you should go talk to him?"

Goku smiles, nodding at your suggestion. "Yeah, that's a good idea." He heads off, leaving you, Gohan, Kami, and Chi Chi alone with each other.

"Saff, are you ready?" Kami asks you.

"Yessir." You answer, waving to Gohan as the two of you enter the Pendulum room. Oddly enough there's a new hole in the wall that wasn't there before, oddly shaped like Piccolo's fist. Hmmm. "Okay mister Kami, same as before?"

"Not quite." He answers, placing a hand on your shoulder. "While you did quite well in focusing last time, I believe we should just hurry things along since there's no training involved. Simply think of your earliest memory, and we'll be there."

"Mmmkay." You close your eyes, thinking back to well over a year ago. Back to the forest, just before dawn...

You open your eyes, and you're back. You look around, all the memories coming back to you like a floodgate being opened. At the time you'd forgotten how much the burning trees seemed to overpower your sense of smell, or how the sky looked much bleaker that day than the ones you'd come to appreciate. "We're here." You whisper, a feeling of...nostalgia overcoming you. Kami gently places a hand on your shoulder, and that's all you need to steady yourself. "I guess we should sense for people huh?"

"That would be the wise thing to do."

You close your eyes again, searching for others nearby. You grin a little as you pick up a moderate power level not too far away, already knowing that it's you. Well, past you. "I'm close by." You say.

"Hmm." Kami mutters. You open your eyes and see him looking off into the distance, his face looking concerned. "And what are you doing here..." He mutters, having not noticed you yet. You close your eyes again and try to sense for what Kami's sensing. Immediately you pick up a massive power level, probably a thousand times stronger than Dodoria was, and one just as strong right beside it. Oddly enough though you can just barely feel another presence, this one...more similar to how Kami feels, like normal Ki but...different.

That strange Ki is just too interesting to pass up. "Mister Kami, do you sense that strange Ki as well?"

You comment seems to throw the Guardian for a loop, as he stares back at you with surprise. "Saff, you can sense that?" You nod your head, only causing Kami to look even more surprised.

"Yeah, I mean a little bit. It feels different from everybody else, sorta like how yours feel." You reply. You can sense those two massive power levels moving away now. "What were those two big ones anyways? They felt SUPER strong."

Kami seems to have regained some composure, looking off to where the strong powers were. "Hopefully it's not who I think it is. Come, we should...meet with this person." The two of you head up into the air, traveling to wards the strange ki. "Now Saff, this person is...special. So it would be very, VERY prudent of you to stay on your best behavior."

"But I'm always on my best behavior!" You say, feeling a bit insulted that Kami would imply otherwise. Your cheeks puff up as you pout. "I mean, there was that one time with mister Raijin's boots..."

"Yes, yes I know you're a good child Saff, but this person requires more respect than you may be used to." Kami widens his eyes a bit as the two of you come into a clearing. "There she is."

Looking down you can see a woman of about Chi Chi's size standing in the middle of the clearing. Her skin's a light pink and she's got the COOLEST mohawk ever. And she's got pointy ears just like you! She seems to be standing in front of some swirly thing that's just hovering in the air. She's so distracted by it that she doesn't even sense you and Kami land right behind her.

You look at Kami, who holds a finger to his lips. You frown a bit, hopping from on each foot as you wait anxiously for this cool lookin' gal to finish up what she's doing. God, she's got such a cool hair style. You wonder if you'd be able to look as cool as her if you had a mohawk, or if mister Tien would even let you get one. Maybe you could accidentally trip and accidentally spill some honey on your hair one day so there wouldn't be any other choice.

"I'm pretty sure Tien wouldn't fall for that." A voice sounding oddly like Kami's says in your head. "Well no it is me Saff, I'm talking with you using telepathy."

"Tell-eppa-pee." You think back. Darnit, even in your head you have trouble with big words. "Do you think you could teach me to do this mister Kami? I bet it'd be fun to talk to Gohan all the time!. Wait, how did you shout in your head? Weird.

"Yes, I'm sure I could teach you that, but right now let's focus on the person in front of us, looks like she's about done."

You look a little closer and realize Kami's right, the swirling energy thing is indeed almost gone, with the cool lookin' lady in front of you giving one last bit of that strange ki before it disappears entirely. She seems to let out a sigh of relief, wiping her brow before turning around....

And jumping back when immediately seeing you two. "Wh-huh?!" She blinks at you and Kami before standing up straight, giving a little cough into her hand before trying to look more dignified. "H-hello there Earthling, and uh," She stares at you for a bit, before smiling. "Demon-kin. I hope I didn't interrupt your...whatever it is you're doing."

"We're trying to find out who I am." You blurt out. "Also your hair is sooooooo cool!" You hold off on wanting to grab it, Kami wouldn't like that.

Kami moves forward, trying to move the conversation away from your awkwardness. "P-pardon my boldness, but are you not the Supreme Kai of the West?"

"Oh, you know of me?" She asks, looking Kami once over. "Ah, you must be the Guardian of Earth then. Apologies for not recognizing you."

"No apologies needed! It is a great honor to have a Supreme Kai visit our humble planet. May I ask though, what it was you were doing just now? If it's not to bold I mean!"

She waves off Kami's worries and smiles. "Not at all. As it happens I'm not technically from your timeline, I'm hunting down a couple of Demons who've been...causing me some trouble." She looks sad, and instinctively you walk forward and give her a hug. Well, you give her leg a hug. Dang ol' being short. She smiles at you and pats your head. "They've been traveling around to different timelines, giving me the slip."

"I've never heard of a Supreme Kai going to so much trouble before for two lowly demons." Kami says.

"These aren't any ordinary demons. I can't go into too much detail, but this isn't the first time they've messed with time." She looks down at you, her face scrunching up just like yours does when you can't figure something out. "What did you say you were doing out here child?"

"We're trying to find out who I am." You reply happily. "See, we're using mister Kami's time travel thingy room, cause I can't remember anything past a year ago, although technically I guess right now it'd be called the present, or maybe fifteen minutes ago would be more accurate?"

"Saff." Kami chides you.

"Sorry. Anyways, we were hoping there was something near by that could help point out who I was."

The Supreme Kai stares at you a bit more, before dropping down to one knee to get a better look at you. "...what's your name?"

"Saff." You say.

She stares at you a little harder, examining a lock of hair. "Saff, do you have a brother? Looks like you, only with one horn and blue skin?"

Wait, what?

If you had a brother, does that mean he had the same memory problem as you? Is he okay? Is he out there by himself. And this lady, this Supreme Kai, who does she think you are? Does she really know you? "M-miss Supreme Kai, I don't know if I have a brother or not, I don't even remember anything about myself beyond where we are right now."

She takes in your words, her face twisting into one of anger as she looks way. "Mira..." She whispers. The Supreme Kai closes her eyes, and you realize she's trying to sense for someone. "They're close by." She gasps. "Dammit!"

"Y-you shouldn't say that." You mumble. "Good people don't say bad words."

The Supreme Kai opens her eyes, both of them tearing up a little bit as she smiles at you. "You're right Nep-....Saff. Good people don't say bad words." She places her other hand on your shoulder, looking at you with what you can only assume is regret.

The Supreme Kai looks at you, probably seeing a big ol' shaking baby trying to fight back big ol' baby tears, and...she smiles. It makes your gut spin, but in a good way. "Nepha. I was going to call you Nepha." She brings her forehead close to yours, and that seems to help with your shaking. "I'm so sorry I lost you two." She whispers. "Look for your brother Nepha, I promise I'll try and find you two."

"What's his name?" You choke out, wanting to wrap your arms around this woman for...you don't know why. No, you know, you just don't want to say it out loud.

"Nephil, remember Nepha, blue skin, one horn." She moves back, placing a kiss on your forehead. "He'll have the same eyes as you." She looks up to wards Kami. "I need you to look after her, make sure she doesn't get into any trouble."

Kami smiles down at her. "You don't have to worry about that, Saf-...Nepha here is an honest child. Very few have a heart as pure as hers."

The Supreme Kai smiles at that. "I know." She turns to look at you one last time. "Goodbye Nepha."

"....g'bye mom."

You're back in the Pendulum room, alone except for you and Kami. You don't know what to say, you're not even sure what to feel right now. Sad, happy, distraught? You wish you knew what to do!

Kami's hand is on your shoulder, the old guardian looking down at you with a bit of knowing in his eyes. "You've learned a great deal today, and you bear more on your shoulders than someone your age should." His hand gently squeezes your shoulder. "But know that I believe you are capable of so much good. I promised her I would look after you, and I intend to do that."

You sniff back some snot, wiping your arm across your eyes before looking up and smiling at Kami. "Thanks mister Kami."

He smiles back. "Now, I know this might seem a bit soon, but you've just learned a few important things, one of them being your real name." Kami pauses. "I'm asking, would you prefer to be called Nepha from now on, or stay as Saff?"

You're happy you know your old name, but you're not Nepha anymore. Now you're Saff, Crane School student and Gohan's best friend! "Oof!" You cry out as Kami rubs your head like the good girl you are.

"I wouldn't expect any other answer from you Saff. Come now, I'm sure the others are waiting."

You and Kami exit the Pendulum room, and you're more than a little happy to see Gohan and Chi Chi still waiting outside for you. You and Gohan run up and hug each other, you easily lifting him off the ground in a massive Saff styled shakedown bear hug which has Chi Chi a little worried for her child's safety while Kami looks on with a smile.

"GUYS!" Yamcha shouts, rushing over to the four of you. "We've got trouble! Goku and Raditz are going at it!"

Thanks for playing tonight guys. Hope you had fun. We've learned a whole lot about Saff this thread, but there's still more mystery and adventure out there!

Told him stuff about future vision that he's interested in, might head back to the Pendulum room for a better chance to speak with them. Met up with Krillin soon after.

"What do you mean they're going at it!?" You, Kami, and the others rush out onto the lookout where Tien and Launch are waiting. You can already feel the Ki pressure from the battle that's happening not too far away, and it feels brutal.

"Goku went to check up on Raditz, they talked about something, and now they're just beating the living hell out of each other." Yamcha explains.

"Why didn't you try and stop it?!" Chi Chi yells, causing Yamcha to flinch back a bit.

"Well, I mean have you felt Raditz's Ki? None of us are really a match for him." That just earns him another glare from Chi Chi.

"Saff might be able to." You all turn and see Tien walking to wards you. "I was planning on using the Sliding technique to get a drop on him, but with Saff's power up-"

"Fierce Mode." You correct him.

"...with Saff's Fierce Mode, she should be able to get enough of a boost to stop Raditz."

"What if we just tried talking with him though?" You ask, earning a few looks because of it. "I know it sounds weird, but mister Raditz just wanted for Goku to meet his daddy today, and it sort of got messed up. I mean I met my mom today and-"

"You met your mom?" Tien asks, shocked. Ah, right you haven't told anyone yet. "Who is she?"

"I'm gonna' try and talk to him." You say, causing everyone to groan. "What?! Mister Raditz has feelings just like the rest of us."

"Saff, he tried to kill most of us the last time we fought." Krillin says, rubbing his big bald head. "Trying to talk him down might not be the best idea."

"Not to mention he's much stronger than he was before." Tien points out.

"Well, we're all stronger than we were before too, aren't we?" That seemed to quiet them down. "People can change, you just have to be willing to put the effort into it. Mister Raditz doesn't have anyone else besides Goku, and today he tried to do something nice. It blew up in his face, sure, but he actually tried." You float up, looking down at the others. "I'm going to try and help mister Raditz, just like I'd try and help any of you."

You fly off, heading towards the massive power struggle you feel. You don't have to fly far before you see Goku and Raditz throwing punches and kicks at each other. Huh, well at least they aren't shooting ki blasts. You get a little bit closer before suddenly Piccolo pops up in front of you, arms crossed and glaring down at you. "Private conversation kid, buzz off."

"Why are you stopping us from, uh, stopping this mister Piccolo!?" You ask.

He just grins back at you, flashing those sharp looking canines of his. You know they're canines because of the book Gohan showed you, the one with all the nasty looking teeth taken over by GINGIVITIS. "Because it's a chance to see Goku get his ass handed to him again," He pauses, looking away from you. "...and Raditz asked me to."

"Awwww." You smile, which only seems to anger Piccolo some more. "You and mister Raditz are friends!"

"WE ARE NOT FRI-URGK!" Before Piccolo could finish Tien seems to have used his Sliding technique to get behind him, locking him in a Crane School Headlock! "You basta-aah!"

"Saff!" Tien shouts at you. "If you're gonna' try and talk with Raditz, do it now. I'll hold Piccolo back for you."

"Thanks mister Tien!" You wave as you fly on by, Piccolo still trying to get out of Tien lock. As you get closer to Goku and Raditz, you can literally feel the air pressure coming off of each of their connecting blows. Jeez these guys are powerful. "Um, mister Raditz!" Well, he doesn't seem to be paying any attention to you right now. Looking at the fight, it's a lot less one sided than you'd thought it be. Almost like.....hmmm.

You focus a little harder on the fight in front of you, trying to drown out the angry yells and curse words that mister Piccolo keeps shouting behind you as Tien holds that lock in place. While Raditz and Goku look like they're going all out against each other, you realize that Goku actually has a small smile on his face, and mister Raditz doesn't seem to be scowling nearly as much as he usually does.

Hold on tic. "AH! You're just sparring with each other!" You shout, pointing an accusing finger at the brothers.

"Huh?" Raditz finally seems to notice your presence, turning his head to look at you...and getting a fist right in the jaw for letting his guard down. The blow seems to knock Raditz back several feet before the much taller Saiyan stops. "Dammit." He grumbles, rubbing his chin.

"WHOOHOO!" Goku shouts, looking much happier. "Alright Raditz, fair's fair."

Raditz is silent for a few moments before spitting down in anger. "Fine. But this time we're doing it differently." Raditz floats off, passing by you and giving a little roll of his eyes before blasting off to wards the Lookout.

You turn to look at Goku, who's busy dusting himself off. "Mister Goku, what was that all about? Everyone thought you and mister Raditz were really trying to hurt each other."

"Oh that, well ya' see when I caught up with Raditz he wasn't really in a talkative mood, heh." Goku rubs the back of his head, his tail swishing back and forth behind him. "He wanted to just get back in his weird space ball thing and head on out of here. So ya' know what I did Saff?" He asks, and all you can do is shake your head. "I used my head. Grandpa Gohan and master Roshi always said that the mind was just as important as the body. So I thought to myself "Raditz probably won't want to admit he wants to go back into the Pendulum room with me, so I gotta' think of a way to get him to WANT to go, without hurting his pride.", and so I said that if we sparred with each other, then the first one to land a clean hit decides what the other has to do." He smiles, looking quite proud of himself.

All you can do is smile back at Goku in return. "Well don't waste any time talking to me mister Goku, your brother needs you." He gives you a nod, then blasts off after his brother. Huh, well that worked out better than you expected. Of course now there's the other problem. Looking down, you can see mister Piccolo got out of Tien's headlock, and the two of them are throwing fists and chops at each other.

At one point Piccolo's arms both extend waaaaay farther than they should be able to, wrapping around Tien and giving him the squeeze. "Think you can just sneak up on me, and get away with it Tien!?" The green man shouts.

Tien seems to be struggling in Piccolo's grasp, but he soon develops a smirk on his face. "Yeah." Suddenly two more arms seems to just explode out of Tien's shoulders, both of them pointing directly at Piccolo. "DODON RAY!" Piccolo can only look on in horror as the beams shoot their way to wards before piercing both of his shoulders, releasing Tien from his grasp. The Crane School Master doesn't waste any time though, and zips right over to Piccolo to deliver a brutal knee to the face. "HAH!" Followed by a quick chop to the neck that sends Piccolo plummeting to the ground.

You fly over to your teacher, looking over his bruised and worn out body as he breathes heavily. "You okay mister Tien?" you ask.

He's silent for a few moments, wiping the sweat from his brow. "Yeah, I'm good Saff." He turns to you, a smile on his face. "It's a good thing we listened to you about trying to talk with Raditz, who knows how much worse the situation would've been if we'd just gone in there, fists swinging."

You feel immense pride from mister Tien's praise, smiling happily as you put your hands on your hips. "Well, I am a smart lady you know." That earns you a good pat on the head. "So what now?"

"Hmmm, I guess with Goku and Raditz using the Pendulum room, there's not much else for us to do today." He turns to you, looking you over. "You've gotten really strong in the last month Saff, I'm proud of you." Oh geez, you can feel your face blushing up.

"Thanks mister Tien."

Three months pass by since that faithful day at the Lookout, and in that time you've decided that you needed to improve upon your own skill set after seeing how much everyone else had improved.

The first thing you focused on was trying to better harness control of your Fierce Mode power up, and see if you can't get a better handle on Mk.2. Easier said than done though. While you manage to hold the power up for a good ten minutes while sparring with Raijin, it still has the horrible effect of leaving you completely drained. You'll have to try and come back to that one another time, as for right now it's a last resort option.

Next you worked on improving on your Pepper Breath. It's the only move you have that you can use without using your hands, and you feel like that might be a benefit during the fight with the Saiyans. It goes a little better than your training with the Fierce Mode, but not by much. You can rapid fire three green fire balls in quick succession, but the speed that they travel and the power they pack still hasn't improved by much.

Where you do succeed though is in coming up with a new move. Surprisingly it's Raijin who came to you with this one. He tells you a story about how, back in his younger days, he and his brother would constantly get into arguments over the littlest things, which would lead them to fighting one another. It was almost always an even match, until one day Raijin harnessed the power of lightning into his horns and slammed it right into his brothers face. With the Thunder god's help, you yourself quickly pick up this technique, though you're having trouble coming up with a name for it. Not to mention all the static electricity it leaves in your hair, making it spike up something fierce. That look will never catch on.

You've been keeping up with the others and their training as well, and find out from Tien that Piccolo made a breakthrough in his training, his power more than doubled what it was just a short while ago. This has the added downfall of Piccolo being smug nearly 24/7, but at least he's happy. Goku seems to be having some trouble, but he just waves it off whenever you ask about it, saying he's got a secret technique that Sun Wukong's been teaching him.

The biggest surprise to everyone had to have been how much Chi Chi has improved. You can just barely keep up with her in your base form. It seems that she's taking things more seriously, and training with Gohan at every possible chance they have.

Yamcha is still by far the weakest among you, besides Launch, but his special technique, which Krillin calls "The Ultimate Jobber Move." is still one to be reckoned with. It pretty much the ultimate counter, and you've been knocked out a few times when sparring with Yamcha because of it.

You greet happily, standing up and slipping out of your PJ's and into your Crane School uniform. Raijin doesn't realize you, Krillin, and Chiaotzu found his secret TV like two months ago, and even though it only seems to pick up exercise programs it's still fun to have some tv to watch. You quickly switch it on, the picture showing a trio of three women in multi-colored leotards with a funky beat playing.

"Okay girls, now rock that body!" The cheerful voice calls out, and you oblige by following the movements on the screen to a T. You're not sure what sexy is, but it sounds like something you should ask miss Launch about. You break up a pretty good sweat just by dancing along with the video, and when it finally ends you feel much better than you did when you woke up. Just goes to show what a good morning workout can do for the body.

"Alright, let's see what the others are up to." You say out loud, wiping the sweat off of yourself.

You arrive at the lookout in fairly short time, looking around a bit as you try to figure out where everyone is. "Hmmm." You walk a bit before seeing a shadow cut across, heading into the main building. "M-mister Popo?" You call out, getting no answer. You sense out again, feeling lots of power levels inside the building.

Gulping, you cautiously move forward, making sure to keep your guard up. The inside of the main building is completely dark, and sadly you haven't figured out how to see in the dark just yet. You take a few small steps forward into the darkness. "Hello?" You call out?

Suddenly the door behind you slams shut, completely covering you in darkness. A second later the lights are turned on, blinding you for a second before you see everyone, from Krillin to Gohan, smiling happily at you from behind a big ol' cake.

"HAPPY BIRTHDAY SAFF!"

"AHHHH!' You shout, making a few people jump back and causing Krillin to fall out of his chair. "Ah, sorry about that." You apologize, bowing respectfully like mister Tien taught you. Krillin cautiously pokes his head from from behind the table to look at you. "I, uh, wow." You walk forward, taking a closer look at the...your cake. You can feel a big smile coming on as you realize the whole thing is shaped, and even looks like a giant carrot. "Heheheh, it's a carrot cake!" You chuckle.

"I know how much you prefer something spicier, but Chiaotzu remembered that shirt you always wore and we figured it'd mean a bit more." Tien says, walking to wards you and getting down on one knee while he places a hand on your shoulder. "So, happy birthday Saff."

You smile up at him, wanting to give him a big ol' hug, but then all the others would see you and that'd be pretty embarrassing....screw it. "Thanks mister Tien!" You wrap your arms around his neck, hugging tightly. You look over at Chiaotzu and reach your arms out for him, and he joins the two of you in a classic Crane School hug! "But wait, how'd you guys know it was my birthday? Even I don't know when that is."

"Well," Tien starts. "We just kind of guessed to be honest. You told us you were six-and-a-half when we first meant you, give or take a month, and it's been about half a year since we met you so..."

"Aww but enough of this lolly gaggin', there's candles to be blown girl!" Master Roshi says, raising up a class of...you think it's orange juice, as he smiles at you from behind his sunglasses.

You hop on over to your seat, the big one right in the middle, where you face your birthday cake. The lights are dimmed down again, so only the soft orange glow of the flames lights the room. Beside you Gohan is grinning happily, with Chi Chi and Goku right beside him. Around you you spot the faces of all your friends you've made in the past months. Mr. Yamcha is still looking as cocky as ever, giving you a thumbs up when your eyes meet. Popo and Kami smile at you, Kami looking a little tearful even. Ooooh, even mister Piccolo and Raditz are here, you give them a quick wave and Piccolo even nods his head bac- oh no wait, he just turned to look away. Oh well, at least mister Raditz gives you a weird peace sign. Jeez, old people.

There's even a few people you've met before but haven't really had the chance to talk with, like that miss Bulma lady or that fat samurai Yajirobe. Maybe you ought to take the chance to talk with them some more, you're not a rude little girl after all.

You feel an arm wrap around you and it gives you a tight hug, looking up you can see the curly blonde locks of miss Launch as she smiles down at you. "Happy birthday kid, little pointer on when ya' make a wish," She looks over at Tien, before leaning in and whispering. "Wish for a little brotha' or sista'."

"But I've already got a-" You clasp your hands over your mouth, earning a few strange looks from everyone. "Uh, I mean I've already got a wish in mind! Yup, that's what I was gonna' say!" You quickly look back to your cake, candles flickering in front of you.

You think long and hard as you stare at the candles, even the slight bit of droll coming out of mister Goku's mouth as he looks at your cake can't distract you. Wishes are important, you know that, they're supposed to be powered up by your hopes and desires. Question is, what do you desire right now?

You think back to a few months ago, when you finally learned some important things about yourself, heck you even met your own mom! You even found out that you have a lost brother! Wow you really need to stop shouting when you have a inner monologue. Your eyes light up though when you realize what you need to wish for. If you've already met your mom...

"I know what I'm going to wish for." You say with conviction, closing your eyes as you lean forward. "I wish my family was here." You think as you blow out the candles. Darkness fills the room before everyone starts clapping, Raditz turning the lights back on since he was closest to the switch. You should probably ask Kami how he gets electricity up here some time.

You look around excitedly, trying to see if you can spot your brother anywhere. "Is he here?! Does anyone see him?" You float up out of your seat, craning your neck around in hopes of spotting him. Your mom said he looked just like you, but he was blue, so that shouldn't be too hard to spot. "Hellooooo?" You call out, flying over a few of the others as you start to worry. Tien looks a little concerned as he sees your face start to pout. "Hello?" you call out again, looking around the room. You don't see him anywhere, and when you do turn around you just see the worried faces of Tien, Chiaotzu, Gohan, Go...ku....

"oh." You say quietly, floating back down to the ground. It looks like your dream did come true, just not in the way you were hoping. You quickly wipe away a few tears and smile back at everyone. "Ha! Okay so where are my presents?" You shout, hoping nobody tries to bring up what just happened.

Luckily it seems either they didn't notice or they're being really, really polite about it. You get brought over to a bunch of a different gifts, all wrapped up in varying styles of paper. Which one do you open first though?

You reach forward and grab the long present wrapped up in the simple parcel paper with nice looking green string. You look at the sticker on it and see that it's from Tien and Chiaotzu. "Thanks guys!" You smile sweetly at them, fingers drumming across the paper as you try to wait patiently to open it.

"Heh," Tien laughs at your fidgeting with a soft smile. "Don't hold back on account of us Saff, if you wanna' open it-"

"OKAY!" You shout happily, tearing the paper off your present and untying the string. You're surprised to see that you got...a long wooden box. "Oh, uh, thanks mister Tien, mister Chioatzu, I've always wanted a wooden box!"

"...There's a present inside the box Saff." Tien tells you, while Chiaotzu places his face in his palms.

"Oh wow, awesome!" You undo the latches on the rectangular box and open it up to reveal a pair of white and green gauntlets, your eyes instantly lighting up. "Ooooh, what are these?" You say, picking them out of the box.

"They're old Crane School gauntlets, used to be pretty common back in the day." Tien explains, walking over and showing you how to tie them up and put them on. "You should be able to grow into these as you get older. Chiaotzu and I wanted you to have something that would mean a lot and you'd get plenty of use out of."

"Hmmm," Roshi walks over, examining the gauntlets closely. "Those are Shen's old gauntlets aren't they?" Shen, who's Shen? "Heh, well I'm sure Saff'll make better use of 'em them."

"Who's Shen?" You ask Tien.

"...I'll explain later." He mumbles, standing up and smiling at you, though it looks a bit forced.

The next one you decide to open up is the fancy looking one with the blue ribbon. Before you can even check out the name tag Bulma pipes up, shoving Yamcha out of the way. "I think you'll really like this present Saff, a lot of thought went into it." She smiles, taking a drink of...well you don't know what it is but you rememeber mister Tien saying you shouldn't ever touch the stuff. It's probably old people drinks.

"Thanks miss Bulma." You say happily.

"Just Bulma is fine Saff."

"Okay, thanks Just Bulma." That earns a few laughs, though you're not sure why. Opening up the present you see that it's full of money.

"HOLY COW!" You shout out, nearly tipping the box over before hurriedly gripping it to your chest. Tien leans over to take a look and his eyeballs nearly bulge out of his sockets. "H-how much is this?!"

"Mmmmm, about 2 million Zeni." Bulma says, taking another sip of her adult beverage.

"2 MILLION ZENI!" Everyone shouts, with Raditz looking at everyone a bit confused. "Is that a lot?" You can hear him asking Piccolo, who just shrugs.

"Bulma, don't you think that's a little much?" Tien asks.

Oh boy, miss Bulma's got that same look that miss Chi Chi has whenever mister Goku eats all the meat. "No, I figured the kid could use some extra cash and maybe buy herself some nicer clothes." She points a finger accusingly at your worn out Crane School gi. "I mean come on Tien, it looks like she's only been wearing the one outfit for half a year!"

"But I have been wearing only thi-mmmph!" Mister Tien's hand quickly covers your mouth as he laughs.

"Ahahaha, yeah yeah you're right Bulma, I'll make sure to take her out for some new clothes soon." He grins, hoping this whole conversation stops.

You push mister Tien's hand off your mouth as you reach forward and grab your next present, which seems to be wrapped in plain ol' newspaper. "To the red kid, from Raditz." You read the tag, looking over at mister Raditz and waving happily to him.

"Newspaper, really?" Krillin asks, looking a bit annoyed but shutting up when Raditz gives him a glare.

"It's not the outside that counts, it's the cool stuff inside that matter!" You declare, unwrapping your present and revealing...a rock. Oh no wait, it's a rock with a funny happy face.

Everyone seems to turn to look at Raditz, with Bulma, Tien, and Chi Chi even glaring at him. "A rock, really?" Your master asks.

"It looks like it's smiling!" Raditz says, trying to defend himself. "She's six-"

"Seven." Piccolo coughs.

"-Seven! What else am I supposed to get her?"

"I don't know, something with some thought put into it?" Bulma says, crossing her arms.

Raditz laughs. "That's rich coming from the woman who just gave the kid a basket full of money."

The two of them begin bickering with one another, even Chi Chi jumping in at one point and saying some choice words that you are totally not allowed to repeat. You stare down at the rock, it's goofy face smiling right back at you.
