Priority 2: Assess Primary Function.

Purpose: Your Primary Function is the original reason you were created. It is the what and why of your existence.

You were created for...

>War. You are a machine of death, created to guide human kind into the future via your powerful railguns and macrocannons. You live for the battle, and none can stand your firepower.

>Support. You were made to be a carrier of the tools humanity used to battle those who wished it harm. Mech units, drones, fighters and bombers, you were to ferry them into the crucible of battle. They all await in your docks, ready to be used at a moments notice.

Just finished reading one focusing mainly on their Minds. They're in entirely different leagues of their own from even the drones, able to do complex quantum mechanics and mathematics while simultaneously holding conversations at the same time, all done in fractions of a millisecond.
And like I said, they tend to get highly eccentric with strange names with double meanings and such.

Purpose: Your Secondary Function, while not the main reason you were made, is still an integral part of your being. It is the "Bread to your butter" to use an old human adage.

Your secondary purpose is...

>Habitation. War leaves people without homes. They will require a new place to live. That is what you are for. You are a home away for those who have lost theirs. A beacon of hope for those who can see only darkness ahead.

>Salvage. It takes resources to run a vessel such as yourself. Resources not everyone is guaranteed to have. For this reason you are equipped with salvage drones that can be used to turn ship wrecks, meteorites, and even solar radiation into materials and energy for your use.

Priority 4: Secret Function.

Purpose: You were not the same as your siblings. Your creators gave you a special function the others did not get. You were an experimental model.

You were given...

>Psi-Drive Engine. An experimental engine that does not use the traditional Warp Drive as most ships do. The Psi-Drive uses the latent Psychic Power gathered by your creators to bend the very fabric of the Universe to your will. It is a dangerous thing, but almost untraceable by any other space faring race.

>Sentient Quantum Computer. Your AI is different than others. Rather than be equipped with a standard AI, yours was made to be better. A veritable Quantum Super Computer...with Free Will. A dangerous thing...to any who would be your enemy.

>Living Shipyard. Your Processing Units are...more extensive than any others. You have the ability to create ships out of the very materials you gather with your drones. A Dreadnought is already a force to be reckoned with, but one who can create its own force at will? Almost unstoppable.

Comm—

Your optic sensors come online. You can feel your consciousness being transfered into this body. Along with that comes the sensation of full control over your ship. It feels as if the ship itself is an extension of your core being, which it is.

The cannons are like the tips of your fingers, one small flick and they will wipe out your enemies. Your drones are nerves, waiting on your order to go to work. The engines are your legs, waiting for you to tell them to move.

You can feel a cushion against your back, and swivel around to see it.

A chair.

A Captain's chair.

Your database informs you of how the humans who made you were fond of seeing figures of power in darkly colored chairs. It was a symbol of power and status for them.

You feel the rest of your systems come online. The ship....your ship....you start to come alive.

With your systems fully functioning, the first order of business is to

>Look for a communication signal. You should've gotten one by now.

>Scan the surroundings. Find out where you are.

>Test your weapons. Make sure everything is working at peak efficiency.

>>
>>1702241
>>Scan the surroundings. Find out where you are.
>>
>Scan the surroundings. Find out where you are.

Acknowledged. Beginning Scanning Routine.
>>
A flick of your wrist is all it takes to set the Scanning Routine in motion. In front of your eyes, outside the visor on your bow, you watch as a blue pulse is sent out, mapping the area.

The readings come back a few seconds later and they....confuse you.

According to the reports, you are underground. All around you are rock formations, filled with many of the same minerals they found on earth, but with a few anomalies here and there as well.

Further scans reveal that your immediate surroundings are a cave system of sorts. There are two tunnels in front of you, each leading deeper into the planet.

You raise the eyebrow on your body. That can't be right. You are a Dreadnought made for Spaceflight. To go into the stars and destroy humanities enemies. Why would you be underground?

You file those questions away for another time.

Situational awareness has been established.

Next you should

>Look for a communication signal. Maybe you can get some answers.

>Send out your Mining Drones. You might need the resources for later.

>Fire up your engines and get start to rise. You need to get to the stars.
>>
>>1702323

>Priority 1: Reboot Gynoid Contact Unit.

>>
>>1702364
>>1702378

>>
>>1702378

However, records show that it is better to be over prepared then under prepared for any eventuality.
>>

Let any human, no matter their side in this conflict, answer your call. You will come assist them, no matter what.

Acknowledged. Preparing Systems for multi-tasking.
>>
Rather than limit yourself to one task, you decide to work on multiple things at once.

First you close your eyes, interfacing with the systems of your drones. They come to life the minute you call upon them, a hundred little nervous in your skin. They await your order.

With a wave your hand, they fly out of your docks as you open them up. They flit to and fro, small lasers cutting the minerals to pieces. Then their small secondary lifters fall from underneath, taking the broken pieces of rock and placing them into a small container hidden in the drone.

While they go about their business, your mind flits back into your database. You will require as much information as you can going forward. You must be as Sun Tzu, proficient in both war and the way it is fought.

Your Database searching proves fruitful. You are able to recover some of the corrupted files in the history section. Specifically the part about your creation.

At first it is just things that you already know. Why you were created, your functions, and that you were made by humans. The new information is that you were made before the schism.

Before your physical conception, you were but an idea put forward by a scientist working for the then Human Federation. When humanity was working towards a common goal, outside threats proved to be...scarce.

It seemed that humanity was in fact the only truly intelligent life in the universe. However, history shows that just because something appears to be one way, doesn't mean it is that way.

So, they began to make you. They poured all of their resources, funding, and manpower into your creation. Unfortunately, that is as far as you can get before the files become too corrupted to recover.

Frustration over takes you for a moment, but it quickly passes. You put the database away and focus on your drones. They have all returned and have come back with quite a haul.

You look over the haul and nod your approval. Those shall prove useful for later.

You check on the signal to see if you've gotten a response yet.

...Nothing.

You put a hand to your chin in thought. This is worrying. Your data shows that, even after the two factions emerged, humanity was a very advanced race. Someone should've easily picked up your transmission by now.

Did something happen? If so, why weren't you woken up for it? How long have you been a sleep?

You file each of the questions for later. Right now, you have other priorities.

Understood. Engines spooling up.

You're not going any answers to your questions if you stick around here. It's time to leave this planet.

First, you double check on all of your systems. Wouldn't want to be stuck mid jump would you?

Engines....Fully Functional.
Railguns...Fully Functional.
Cannons....Online and Loaded.
All other systems...Completely Green.

Everything is in working order.

It's time.

You pick up your right foot and tap it on the polished silver floor. In an instant you feel your powerful engines rumble as they begin to burn through your fuel. The solar radiation is fed into your turbines, causing them to spin at extremely high speeds. The gas in the radiation ignites, causing your outward thrusters to activate.

You will your body to move, putting yourself at the perfect angle to penetrate through the planet's crust.

You scan the roof above you, revealing the tough materials that have formed over the years.

To lesser ships, this would be an obstacle.

To you? It is but an annoyance.

Your fingers tap on the armrest of your chair. Immediately your railguns fire. Superheated plasma rips forward, turning the ceiling a dazzling shade of blue. You watch as the rock turns to magma under your barrage.

Then you tap both your left foot and fingers. You surge forward, macro-cannons booming as you move. They burst through the rocky ceiling, paving a path through the minerals for you.

You can't help but smile as you imagine the planet's crust as an enemy ships hull.

>pic related is you breaking out of the planet

It isn't long before you reach orbit, your powerful engines carrying you out of the atmosphere. There you take a moment to observed the space around you. The stars as they shine one in the ever expanding darkness of space. The shining yellow star that irradiates the entire solar system with it's light.

You look back and notice that the planet you were in looked vey much like earth. However a quick scan shows that the atmosphere is too toxic for human life to survive. They must've terraformed it while they were making you, but it looks like something happened to it.

It is at this moment that a ping reaches your sensors.

Someone has picked up on your signal.

You immediately patch it through, but are greeted with something grim. A clear male voice shouts out, "This is the Frigate Class Ship Spartacus! We are under attack by an unknown force! It's them! They've come back! We have civilian ships! We need he—argh!"

The distress signal cuts out there. They need help, and you don't know if any other ship can hear them.

You trace the signal back to its source. It's only a short Warp Jump away. You should be able to get their within 2 Lightyears. Of course you could burn some more fuel to make it instantaneous, but they comes with the risk of being trapped mid Jump or getting lost.

You've got no time to lose.

You need to get there as fast as possible.

You systems lock onto the Warp Lane, and you instaneous fire them. You feel the very fabric of space tear open for a split second, the reality in front of you making way as you move forward.

You don't know what has happened.

You don't know how long you have slept.

Well....let me put it like this.

If at some point you Crit Fail on a Warp Jump, your systems are advanced enough to pull you out of it.

You won't die, but you'll probably end up far away from your target.

Don't worry though, you won't be stuck in purgatory just because of it.

Your inner computations systems inform you that the Jump only took exactly 12.489754 seconds before you returned to realspace.

To you it felt like ages again.

You come out of the Jump in a region of space that your star charts recognize as Regency territory. You file it away and immediately start to scan for the human ships in danger.

You are not forced to wait for long.

Exactly 10 stellar meters away from you is a losing battle. What your database reminds you is a human frigate is firing it's engines at full blast, attempting to get away from whatever it's assailant is. There are fires on it's port and starboard side, a quick scan showing that those are the life support modules.

You start to wonder why they don't just fire back, when your scan informs you that their weapons have been disabled. An EMP perhaps? But wouldn't their shields have deflected it?

Another scan...no shields whatsoever?!

Questions rage in your mental center, but then you look beneath the Spartacus Frigate.
>>
The civilian ships are there, ten of them in total.

You scan them to see how many are aboard.

1 million each.

The Spartacus is shielding them.

You get a communication notice from your systems. It's from the Spartacus.

You mental accept the call while moving your bow into position. You're aiming to intercept whatever it is that is following the Spartacus without colliding into anything.

You're prepared for a holographic image to appear on the screen, but instead you just get a direct voice line, "This is...acting captain of the Spartacus, Emmy Colby! Who are you and please tell me you're here to save us?!"

You file, yet another, thing in away in your database to ask for later and speak, "This is Dreadnought Designation Oberon. I received your distress call and have come to provide assistance. What do you require of me?"

"Dreadnought?" she says that word with a bit of reverence and awe, "I thought all of you were gone."

You present the query, your self-loading cannons, missiles, and torpedo tubes all spinning up in preparation. Your railguns are heated and your triple layered Hyper shield is up soon, a hexagonal pattern expanding over the entirety of you.

You hear a chuckle from the Spartacus, "If these guys are human, they're doing a heck of a job hiding it!"

Humor in the face of danger.

Standard human response.

"As for their loadouts? You've got me. All I remember is that one minute we're flying through uncharted space protecting some colony ships, then a fucking giant blue rift appeared behind us.

Next thing I know, our weapons are fried, oxygen starts to run out, and our captain dies within the first few seconds of combat!"

You make note of everything she says. Who or whatever this foe is, they obviously possess very advanced technology. Which further lends credence to your worries.

From what you remember, a simple frigate should've been enough to completely annihilate any hostile entity.

What could these thing be?

You get answer when you're about 2 stellar meters away from your destination.

From a rift in space, one that does not share the coloration or readings of a Warp Jump, appears from almost no where.

From it three ships the likes of which you have never seen before emerge. Each one is of the same size, same model, and same shape. They are easily the size of the Spartacus, so you classify them all as Frigates.

At the ends of each of their "fins" you get readings that match your railguns, and a different reading from the center. You believe that is where the reactors for these ships.

They appear right behind the Spartacus, ready to blast it so pieces.

Instead they find themselves right in the way of your broadsides.

They are in V formation, and you spool up your weapons.

Now, how shall you attack?

Question: is it possible to self modify? i.e. can we spend resources we gather on upgrading our ships capabilities?
>>
You are not taking any chances. You wave your right hand out to the side of your body.

The darkness of the stars is temporarily illuminated with your firepower. Hot plasma arcs through the stars, traced by macro-shots meant to pierce through the weakened armor.

Behind them come missiles, for when the shields fall and the hulls are exposed.

Though some would see this as reckless, you do not. For with this first barrage you learn some vital things about your enemy.

First, they do in fact have shields. Your first few shots merely crash against the invisible barriers, harmlessly. However, they weaken the shields enough that the rest can get through un impeded.

Second, they have Point Defense Guns. You watch as some, but not all of your missiles are shot out of the sky by crisscrossing lanes of fire.

Lastly, they make mistakes.

They do not compensate for your overwhelming amount of firepower. Rather than mitigate the damage by moving farther apart they instead choose to move closer together causing more damage than they should've taken.

By the end of your first salvo, you have done a number on them. Their fires are raging across the first ships hull, while the second ship is in even worse shape. It was hit with your missiles, breaking off two of its fins. Only the engines are keeping it afloat.

The third ship is the least damaged, and mostly intact.

You ping a quick message to Captain Colby to Jump out as soon as possible. The enemy ships begin to close on you. You see the third ship, the one farthest to the left start to move away from you.

The other two seem to become closer together. Your systems warn you about a strong reading coming from the two of them.

>Blast them before they can finish charging.

>Stop the third ship. Blast it instead.

>Hit them both, the two with your cannons the third with railguns.
>>

They seem to think there is no way for you to split your attentions between two task.

Oh how wrong they are.

A tap and your weapon systems come online. Your cannons take aim at the more damaged ship of the three. The readings are getting stronger, so you wait until they have reached a peak. At the same time your energy weapons take aim at the ship attempting to circumvent you.

You countdown until you have each of them in the correct position.

3. The readings are spiking.

2. The third ship is charging its weapons.

1. You fire.

Immediately, your macro shots pierce through the second ship's generator. The resulting backlash cause the readings to explode, resulting in the first ship being caught dead center in the aftermath.

The vessel is torn apart, it's right most fins exploding into shards of strange metal. It drifts away, silently.

Your attentions turn to the final ship. Your railguns did their work. A weak spot in the shielding gave them enough of an opening to pierce through the ships generator. It list silently in the void.

Like that the battle is over.

You start to readjust your body, while opening up a communication line to the Spartacus. At the same time, your drones launch out of your bay doors, heading towards the remains of the enemy ships.

Your line is caught and accepted very quickly by the other ship. Judging by the awe in the Acting Captain's voice, you'd say you've impressed her greatly, "Holy shit....how did you do that?"

She seems to think you're statement was a joke. You would inform her that it wasn't, but don't want to "kill the mood" as some humans like to say.

Your drones come back later, and the reports show you middling results. The first and third ships were more intact that you expected, and you gathered quite a bit from them. The second ship, however was almost completely destroyed, only giving you the bare minimum of what you could salvage.

Your haul is a bit less than what you were hoping for, but it is still good to have. You make sure to remember to study those new metals at another time, before returning to the current conversation.

"Acting Captain, I come equipped with drones that can be used to repair your ship. Would you mind sending me the schematics so that I may do so?"

"You can blow up ships more advanced than us and you can repair ships?! What can't you do?! Sure take 'em! I'll even give the ship if you want it!"

"Thank you, but that will not be necessary," the schematics for the ship come through a few moments later. You go over them and are immediately taken aback.

This frigate....is years behind what your records say humans were capable of making! That can't be possible! What happened to—

You shake your head, and send your drones out to take care of the damaged sites, "What about the civilian ships? Do they need repairs as well?"

"Thanks to you they don't. Everyone's alive and well, and singing your praises."

You nod, letting silence overtake the conversation as your drones get to work. On the way you scan their Life Support systems with plans to improve your own down the line. It might become useful later.

IMPROVED LIFE SUPPORT SYSTEMS CAN BE BUILT!

Acting Captain Colby speaks, "So, hey. This might be a bit forward, but would you hopping over to the Spartacus' bridge for a chat? I'd like to thank you in person if possible."

You're a bit surprised at the invitation. It is doable, your Contact Unit has the ability to leave your main body whenever it is needed. Not just that, but you retain complete control over your faculties at all times. If they did try anything untoward they would at an extreme disadvantage.

On the other hand, it's quite clear that humanity is not as it once was. They might not take kindly to an AI as advanced as yourself.

Understood. Will prepare Contact Unit for travel.

>I accept but request to know more about my brothers and sister class dreanoughts when I visit

Will combine with previous decision, as this knowledge is deemed imperative.
>>
>>1705592
>"I accept your offer. I will be over as soon as repairs are done."
>>
"I accept your offer. I will be over as soon as the repairs are complete."

"Great! Awesome!" is her reply, "I'll tell the rest of the crew to be prepared."

You're about to let her go when something crosses your mind, "Hold a moment Acting Captain."

"Yes, Oberon?"

"When I get there I shall require to know more about my brother and sister dreadnoughts that were created alongside me. It is imperative that I know where they are so that we may complete our duties."

The other line is silent for a minute before the Acting Captain replies, "Um, suuurrrreeee. I guess that's ok?"

"Thank you," you say and cut the line. You will the Gynoid model to stand, making sure to set your systems to only activate when you specifically ask them to instead of whenever you move a body part. Your feet echo across the silver floor as you travel to the air lock.

It is only now that you notice how empty your halls are. Most ships have thousands upon thousands of people running to and fro. They're doing their jobs, and making sure that their ship can protect them from the harsh realities of space.

You do require a crew, as most of your systems are complete controlled by you. Your data shows that this is something that many humans feared in the past. You can understand why.

It is a short trip to the air lock, but you are forced to wait for a time as you get into position next to the airlock on the bridge. Your drones return to their stations, reports indicating that repairs went smoothly.

However, it took some of your processed minerals to do so.

LOST 250 P.MINERALS!

You mark that down and wait.

It isn't long before you feel yourself list next to the Spartacus' bridge. There your airlock connects with theirs, oxygen seals activating as they dock. You wait until the disinfection cycle runs its course.

The door opens before you, revealing a long glass walk way. Outside of the powerful glass the endless void of space waits for event he slightest crack to spell your doom.

You activate the gravity boots on your model and proceed onwards.
>>
Once you reach the end of the corridor, the door to the adjacent airlock opens up for you.

You walk in, go through the decontamination cycle, then walk through the opposite door. There you are immediately welcomed by a woman who, based on your speech patterns, you deduce is the Acting Captain.

She holds her hand out to you with a smile, "Acting Captain....well I guess Captain now, Emmy Colby. Pleasure to meet you."

>Shake her hand, "Same."

>"Same to you." Do not shake her hand.

>Nod and head to the rest of the bridge.
>>
>>1705650
>Shake her hand, "Same."
I wonder if their ship has an AI.
>>
>>1705650
>shake hand. "Pleasure to meet you in Person Captain. You and your crew did well before we arrived. Apolgize for not being faster however."

>>
Your hand grasps her in greeting, "Same."

You give her body a biometric once over to check for injuries. Aside from first degree burns on her abdomen, she has no major injuries. However, you do pick up a small life sign coming from her womb.

Hmm, congratulations to her.

She let's go of your hand and jerks a thumb to the left, "Come on. Everyone's waiting to meet the conquering hero."

You follow her as she walks towards a gathering of life signs and one...mechanical signature?

You file that away as the both of you enter the bridge. This, at least, does match your history banks. The map in the center that shows the current sector around you, the 5 stations manned by individuals that represent the different functions of the ship, and the all important Captain's Chair sitting above it all.

Emmy shouts, "Hey, ya lazy bums! Cut it out for a sec and look over here!" The five heads all swivel to where the both of you have entered, "This here's...sorry man, I didn't get your name?"

>"Yes you did. It's Oberon."

>"You may call me Oberon."

>"My name isn't important right now."

"I did. It's Oberon."

Ms. Colby is silent before she starts chuckling, "Isn't that the designation of your ship?"

"That is correct. By extension, it is my name."

Her eyes stare at you, before they go wide in astonishment. You are suddenly made aware of the tension in the room. She stutters and says, "W-wait. A-are you saying t-t-that—'

"That he is the ship. Yes."

That's a new voice. All heads turn to a place behind the Captain. She turns around, giving you a good view of who it is.

She's obviously an AI, but your scans show that she is no where near your level. She is but a child compared to you. Your systems can easily tell that she has very little control over anything except her own body, where as you have control over an entire ship.

Still, it is comforting to know that humans can still create AIs.

She saunters towards you, stopping when the both of you are face to face.

She says with a great amount of reverence and wistfulness, "Hello Oberon. I am Titania, and after all these years it is so good to see that you are finally awake."

Your eyes narrow as you scan through your data banks, "You are correct in that I have not been functioning for some time. But what do you mean by 'all these years'?"

She shakes her head, but her smile stays, "Of course you wouldn't know. Your database hasn't been caught up yet. You've been asleep for 75 years Oberon."

At her statement, you can do nothing but stand there as your database is rewritten and prepared for the future.

While trying it's best not to scream in pain and horror.

END ACT 1 PART 1

Thank you all for playing!

Now I'm going to try for a Weekend Timetable with this. By that I mean, I'll try to get an Update in every Saturday and Sunday if I can. Not this Saturday and Sunday, as I already did this Update, but the next ones.

I hope you all enjoyed and I hope you will return for next time!

Make sure to check the Pastebin for Updates on your Character sheet!

I'll stick around until 7:00 PM CST to answer questions and receive criticism.
>>
>>1705772
I wanna fuck that female AI.

But on a more serious note, That was fucking nifty mate. I can't wait for the next run, I take it the child's dad was the Captain?
>>
>>1705772
Well, we just met our mythological wife.
We should totally offer an upgrade when we get to know the human faction better.
>>
>>1705772
Loving the quest so far. So when are you gonna run Anime Delinquent Quest next?

Will there be waifus?
>>
>>1705792

Am I that predictable?

But yes.

>>1705796

Gonna run ADQ tomorrow at 2:30 PM CST.

I follow the same principle as I do in ADQ. As in, "There will be female characters, but it will never be an imperative to 'waifu' them. If that's where the votes swing, that is we will focus on."
>>
>>1705805
Well, normally speaking the only way a female like that gets pregnant with a kid and isn't 'removed' is either the Medical officer doing it, or the Captain.
>>
>>1705811
Or the situaion with humanity is so fucked that this fleet is more of the fleeing refugee convoy reality and they cant afford to replace high ranking officers if they dont have to.
>>
>>1705805
So did you plan on Naming the next Si we met Titania or was it a spur of the moment thing? Are you going to draw analogies between the seelie and unseelie here? Is Titania the contact gynoid of a downed drednought?
>>
>>1705826
Ai *
>>
>>1705826
Well since we can build things and probably have our own schematic, it is theoretically possible to make more dreadnoughts and populate them with other AI.

That shit is late quest stuff though, we wont see it any time soon.
>>
>>1705826

Little spur of the moment, little bit of the Fae part.

I chose Titania because, well your name is Oberon and they put a lot of their resources into you. Would make sense if they named most of their AIs after Fae in some way.

However this technically isn't the "real" Titania. She's a standard Synthetic AI, way less advanced than your Gynoid Contact Unit. She chose the name herself, as you Dreadnoughts are basically mythological creatures at this point.

As such, there are plenty legends surrounding you. Including that if you are named after one of the Dreadnoughts of old, you are destined for great things.
>>
>>1705837
So
We could run into Mab Maeve and Puck too?
>>
>>1705837
QM, Would it take an entire solar system worth of stripping to be able to build a new dreadnought warship?
>>
File: QueenMab2.jpg (22 KB, 250x461)
22 KB
22 KB JPG
>>1705839

Possibly yes.

>>1705840

A little bit more than that, along with the ability to create an AI as advanced as you are to run it or a crew of about 20 Trillion humans, not mention enough Solar Radiation to get it off the ground.
>>
If we wanted to make another dread we would be better served harvesting a battlefield or ships graveyard. Least that way the materials required will be concentrated instead of having to move across system all the time.
>>
>>1705846
So could we make some Goblin starfighters for a picket, screening and scouting force? Dreadnought might mince enemies solo, but given we're going to be HORRIFICALLY outnumbered so basic Drone fighter and bombers might be warranted.

Also what does our contact unit look like?
>>
>>1705846
Did the humans that build us crack planets wholesale to build the dreadnoughts or some shit? Seems a bit absurd, though I guess that tends to happen whenever you get into the numerical side of space scifi.
>>
Fun fact: Oberon also know as Auberon was originally a dwarf in the Norse mythos meaning Odin and his crew are probably somewhere out there.
>>
>>1705858

This>>1701522

It was the only picture I was able to find that looked dignified and non-threatening. The rest looked way too much like edgelords.

>>1705862

Humanity got a little bit....eccentric when they start making Dreadnoughts controlled by AIs with Free Will.
>>
>>1705858
Analyze the foe first before going for a strategy. We need to know more before we invest in discardables.
>>
>>1705873
Did humanity advance to the stage of building megastructures? I mean if the dread on its own doesnt classify as such.

They were actually working on making a Dyson Sphere.

Then the Schism happened and Civil War broke out.

Then the Fallen Empire Rip-offs showed up and fucked shit up.

Then the rest of the Aliens (some of which are actually pretty peaceful and friendly) showed up as well.

It kind of spiraled down hill from there.
>>
>>1705882
>dyson sphere
>Not a megasphere
Son I'm disappointed.
>>
>>1705873
Isn't there a phrase about the fine line between genius and insanity? Sounds about right
>>
>>1705883

First I'm hearing of that.
>>
>>1705875
Typically fighter and bombers are much more useful than a big oversized battleship. In space or in sea. We can make them, and frankly anything not shot at us is well spent IMO.

>>1705882
So what are fleet size naming conventions?

Stellaris?
-Corvette
-Destroyer
-Cruiser
-Battleship

or
Starfleet Battles?
-Fighter
-Psuedo fighter (PT Boats, gunboats)
-Frigate
-Destroyer
-Light Cruiser/Carrier
-Cruiser/Carrier
-Heavy cruiser/Carrier
-Dreadnought
-Battleship (which is big enough to bankrupt an interstellar empire to make)
>>
>>1705887

You know someone said something like that when making you.

"Joe, I've been looking over the blueprints and it says here you want to turn a giant, mobile, titan of fuck you into a mobile shipyard? With the capability to create more giant, mobile, titans of fuck you?"

"Yeah."

"....You do realize how crazy that sounds, right?"

"Look the guys upstairs said they wanted a weapon that could handle anything the Galaxy can throw at us. That's what I'm giving them."
>>
>>1705894

Starfleet.
>>
>>1705900
Noice

have you played it? Because I really want to know what our ships are closest too stat wise.
>>
>>1705898
They laughed at Joe. Joe laughed at the microscopic bits of corpses his dreadnought of doom and destruction left in its wake.

Unfortunately, no.

I'll make sure to look it up and see I if I can get and play it later, however if you want some comparisons:

You compared to current Human Technology: Space Hulk

You compared to Fallen Empire Rip-offs: Imperial Grand Cruiser

You compared to some of the other Alien Races in the setting: Low-Tier Imperial Battleship
>>
>>1705898
All jokes aside, I'm not sure what you've got planned setting/story-wise, but if you're in need of some ideas, tg had a threat a couple weeks back in which they created an apocalyptic scifi setting; it had some pretty sweet ideas in it.

>>
>>1705917
can we improve?
>>
>>1705972
OP said somewhere above that we can do small scale repairs and temporary improvements on our own. Any major repairs and/or permanent upgrades will require a fully stocked shipyard and potentially a sacrificial planet.
>>
>>1705938
You're very welcome; keep up the good shit.

>>
>>1705972
Possibly, the question however is a little more complex I'd say.

Do we have the technical knowledge to improve upon ourselves? Are we programmed to 'allow' such modifications (As if you allow a sentient AI to modify the physical you might let it circumvent the programming. We are already a Von Neumann doom-drone, I'd be shocked if they made us into an unrestricted one)

Lastly, do we have the will/nessecity to do so? Are we not the heigh of human military science?
It would seem to make sense to me that just about any 'upgrade' we could apply to ourselves would either be built in already or considered superflous by our creators and ourselves.
>>
>>1705837
I did pick Oberon cuz they went with the male gynoid unit right? Had they gone for the grill i would have just started asking for Titania. Was going for the Midsummer Nights Dream feel to all of this.
>>
>>1708132
In all likelyhood the current state of affairs, whereby we are likely the last dreadnought in buisness means that such assumptions would be superflicious and quickly disregarded. As for self modify: already confirmed.
