Last we left off we had fought off a small chaos incursion, and having disabled the Hecate class cruiser in orbit, screams still come of people being tortured over the vox, and the maniacal laughing of the chaos followers....

It is believed that we killed the chaos space marines in the battle on the station and on the planets surface but it is impossible to know how many chaos followers remain on board....

You tensely grip your command chair as you watch the strike team begin the boarding operation....

Inquisitor Corean stands beside you, his eyes glued to the screen as well.

A junior Inquisitor leads a team of Inquisition storm troopers and a platoon of our best men, armed with carapace armor, flamers, shotguns and the occasional plasma rifle....

Roll a d100 to determine the success of this action.... (I will take the average of the first 3 rolls)
>>
>>1680126
Due to the expense and raw resources involved it would be a great victory to capture the ship and cleanse it of all heresy as a cruiser outfitted to carry strike craft would be extremely useful for patrolling around Tarkon IV and protecting the vital trade routes keeping our burgeoning planet growing

>>1680189
Im just gonna take these 2 rolls to get things moving along, please read the old threads if you arent familiar with where we are in the story...

average of 65 a fair success

The blood curdling screams continue on the comms, even as the boarding team cuts their way into the ship....

The pictograph from the Inquisitors helmet shows blood spattered walls and a general state of disrepair on the khornate cruiser....

The team makes their way through several corridors before movement is spotted in a dark corner, followed with a storm of autogun fire, from several cultists...

A few men go down in the ambush but the boarding team keep moving, executing any heretics they find along the way...

Eventually they make their way to the astropathic chambers putting the mad psykers out of their misery before entering the bridge....

Explosives are placed on the locked door, and after a few moments of preparation are blown open, revealing a chaos space marine and a dozen cultists....

The young inquisitor and the rest of the boarding team pour fire into the group, hiding behind the bulkheads supporting the now destroyed door...

The khornate marine rushes the young inquisitor with a chainaxe and lighting claw

The last images on the pictograph are the khornate marines charge , taking 2 plasma bolts and withstanding several flamer blasts before running the young Inquisitor through with the lightning claw, briefly showing his twisted scarred face to the pictograph before dropping the inquisitor to the floor...

The roar of flamers, gunfire, plasma weapons and lasfire are heard for another thirty seconds before, an Inquisitorial stormtrooper Lieutenant comes over the vox reporting all threats on the bridge have been eliminated...

The rest of the scouring of the ship is relatively uneventful, the interior fouled by chaos artificacts....

All in all a successful with only 2 dozen men lost, including the young Inquisitor, an acolyte who was recently promoted by Inquisitor Lord Corean...

In the bowels of the engine room, a large number of starved, half crazed slaves taken in previous raids have been kept to feed fuel into the engines and do general repairs, a few attack our men but the rest are thankful but too weak to express their gratitude other than to stop working on the ship...

Our techpriest seconded to us, Xeroth, thinks it will be the better part of a year at least before the ship can be retrofitted for service in our growing planetary defense fleet...

On the question of the engine slaves, what shall be done with them?

A. Bring them to the surface to a holding center to be checked for taints of heresy, where they will be given treatment and put to work
B. Put them out of their misery
C. Other(Write-in)

Ayy, You live Shmeh.
>>
>>1680238
B. Put out of misery

Killing an Inquisitor, even a junior one, is serious business. There will be an investigation and we cannot risk any spread of heresy.

Medicine is expensive, the engine slaves are unskilled, and heresy is lethal at "best."
Life is cheap in the imperium. Best bet is to remove this contamination and move on.

Several shuttles are sent to the disabled cruiser as the miserable wretches are brought up from the engine compartment, their condition is so dire several die just walking up the stairs, from a combination of shock, hunger and fatigue...

After several hours they are eventually all boarded and brought to a holding facility, under close guard by several hundred of our troops...

Back on the ship, you, Maximilian Archulus Tiberius Valoran must decide what the next step for our planet is, the station interior is marred by the scars of battle, although the dead have been removed and the blood cleaned up at least, our mining facilities also have been seriously damaged, with several valuable pieces of heavy equipment destroyed in the battle with the chaos raiders....

Fortunately the winery, and the frenzon plantations escaped unscathed and production continues....

What should be the first focus of our attention?

A. Seeing to restarting mining production as soon as possible
B. Repairing the breaches and damage to the space station

You have Xeroth prioritize his efforts on getting the mines operational, their iron and gold production vital to our operations on Tarkon IV
It will take several months to get things back to normal and we will have to contact Tzavaras about getting more heavy mining equipment, as several key pieces of machinery were damaged beyond any hope of repair....

On the surface a massive funeral is held, honoring the fallen. A monument depicting your honor guard fighting a chaos terminator is made the centerpiece of the new military graveyard...

The chaos dead have been unceremoniously dumped in a large mass grave...

Inquisitor Lord Corean attends the funeral with you, watching in silence while you give a speech, of the emperors power and glory and the legendary heroes of Tarkon IV, refusing to bow to the Heretics and the dark powers that support them....

With the previous champion slain, and in honor of the fallen, as the "High King" of Tarkon IV, you request that all the clans and tribes send their best warriors and leaders to attend a great feast and tournament, the reward being a power sword and the honor of being the champion of Tarkon IV....

While preparations are under way for the feast, you are contacted by Ishmael, with a controversial idea to use Gideons geneseed and even the geneseed of the fallen chaos marines to attempt to create a handful of marines on our own, using his knowledge of 30k Imperium technology and our jury rigged genetic technology....

We also have shelved another project to use frenzon and some genetic engineering to make our own super soldiers....

A. Proceed with project with extreme caution(he warns it will take years to get results....)
B. Shelve the idea for now(destroy the traitor geneseed)
C. Shelve the idea for now(Keep the traitor geneseed)

Keep note, that we may be able to sell the geneseed to Tzavaras or another rogue trader...

You give Ismael the go ahead to start the project, in the next few weeks the leaders of the various tribes and clans stream into the city you have built on the surface, awaiting your arrival....

You descend into the city in a shuttle, and receive them as honored guests, accepting gifts and pledges of loyalty....

For the upcoming tournament you must decide what the rules shall be

A. It ends with first blood, I don't want anyone dying in this tournament
B. Its a fight to the death, let the last man standing take the sword
C. Leave each round of combat to be ended at your discretion, or the discretion of a judge appointed by you...

>A. It ends with first blood, I don't want anyone dying in this tournament
>>
>>1680677
>>1680669
>>1680581
You issue a decry stating that the combat will end at first blood...

Most of the tribes make it and send challengers to the arena, all in all once again 32 different clans and tribes show up, in awe of the legendary power sword, that was granted in the tournament just a few years ago...

Due to popular demand, you agree to a demonstration, turning on the sword, it emanating a slight humming noise and dim blue light, you have a hulk of a destroyed chimera towed in front of the crowd of increasingly eager spectators and hack through the armor on the vehicle in one single strong blow..... showing the tribals that even the Emperors metal horses are no match for this sword.

The display is met with adulation from the crowd....

Seeing the mood, you once again reiterate the rewards for victory, being declared the Champion of Tarkon IV and the priveledge to wield such a powerful and dangerous weapon...

You also say the warriors the prove themselves may be permitted to join your honor guard as well.....

It is now legend to go to live in "sky castle" as the locals call your space station, where they can live a life of luxury compared to what they have at home....

The fighters are given a choice in their weapons, a sword, spear or axe, all some of the finest make on Tarkon IV.

The fighters are eventually paired up, with each round eliminating a fighter in the pairing.

Several upset victories are seen in the first and second rounds, with the massive and strong Serathi champion wielding a Serathi longsword, was defeated by the agility and lithe movements of a warrior from the Red Hand tribe, from the southern jungle region.

Another upset happened when the Miner clan champion, proving quicker and stronger than anticipated easily dodged the swift attacks of a jungle tribesman, nearly killing him with a savage axe blow... All this despite the man being from offworld

Predictably the Hiver representative from the town settlement, a massive ganger from the worst underhives is outfought in a brutal swordfight with a northern noble warrior. Yielding before being slain by the superior moves of a trained fighter...

Our very own sky clan warrior, a younger member of your own honor guard is fighting on a team representing the space station. The extreme conditioning and practice with his chainsword proves invaluable as he is able to dodge the blows of a massive knight from one of the northern clans, eventually tiring his opponent and getting within his guard, landing a single strong blow that takes the big northerner out of the fight....

As the first day of the tournament comes to an end, there are only 8 fighters left....

Fortunately this time, there were no deaths on the first day, with only man being seriously maimed by a spear through his knee....

You feast the local leaders in a great hall, and serve fine wine and beer, taking the time to listen to your subjects, a rare thing on a feudal world....
>>
>>1680795
The notable fighters going into the final day are much the same as the previous tournament, although Gandron, the former champion is sorely missed, with a cousin of his fighting in the tournament in an attempt to continue the family tradition of serving in your honor guard....

The miner clan champion is knocked out in an extremely close fight with swift bladed Serathi swordsman, who used his superior height and reach to eventually get by the defenses of the stout miner

The old ganger from the hiver clan, continues his winning streak, using his massive size and suprising agility to dodge grapple with a warrior from the red hand tribe in the southern jungles, disarming his opponent and wrestling him into submission...

Jarron, the warrior representing the sky clan, is the most suprising upset of the day, being beaten by a Black shell clan warrior from the eastern coast, whos lithe movements and spear skills out manuever the swordsman, succesfully keeping him at a distance until a "kill" could be made, with a strong thrust gashing Jarron's shoulder...

The afternoon rolls on with several more fights deciding who the finalists are, with the final fight coming down to the Black shell clan spearman and the old hive ganger....
>>
>>1680821
The final day of the tournament starts with a military parade, and a speech glorifying the might of the High King and the God-Emperor of man.

It takes a few hours for the crowd to fill in the seats...

As the arena fills the 2 fighters make their way to the center, where they salute you the High King....

You give the signal to start the fight...

The hiver, armed with a shield and axe, quickly rushes the spear armed fishermen from the Black shell clan, who seems to be able to always keep his distance from the hiver, his footwork immaculate as he maintains control of the fight, despite extreme pressure from the hiver....

At last the fisherman seems to grow weary of his constant backpeddling and spear thrusts and appears to leave an opening in his guard, sensing his chance, the hiver swings his axe in a wide arc, confident in his victory, as he does so, the wily fisherman, narrowly dodges the blow, and spins around knocking the hiver off balance and on to his back...

The fisherman, then steps on the hivers chest and places the spear to his neck, causing the hiver to yield victory....

As the crowd cheers, you beckon the fisherman over to the grand pavilion where he introduces himself as Pollard....

You have a grand ceremony issuing him the sword, but now must decide if you want to let in the top performers into your honor guard as well, where they will be trained in modern tactics and in the use of the chainsword....

You allow a dozen men to join your honor guard, great warriors all, representing the various clans and tribes of Tarkon IV

Now with the ranks replenished, its time to turn to more pressing matters of state. Xeroth reports that the small gas freighter we had under construction has finally been completed, however we will need to bring steel production back up if we wish to construct any new ships in the future....

In addition the crusade fleet sent to fight xenos on the frontier has returned... at least parts of it, their seems to be only half the ships they started with, our Lunar class cruiser, the Edge of Tomorrow among the ragged fleet. It is badly damaged with blast marks scarring the hull in several places, and the propulsion damage. Captain Felix has requested to dock his shuttle at the station, and put the Tomorrow in for repairs.

A large troop transport limping behind the rest of the warships, apparently is also bearing the survivors of the volunteers of our jungle ranger regiment and mechanized regiment we lent to the Inquisition...

They are landed at our military base on Tarkon IV while Felix boards the station. He debriefs you with very limited information, always a sharp man, Felix believes he and the command staff were mindwiped, although he has had nightmares of metallic skeletal like warriors in his dreams....

He does not know what fate befell the survivors among the troops we sent on the crusade....

With repairs underway and the planet getting back on its feet, you decide to make an astropathic communication.....

B. Contact Sectoral command
C. Contact your family, and see if they have any aid for you

Tzavaras responds to your astropathic request with the items he has for sale, you can afford 4 items from this list, trading shipments of frenzon, wine and iron and gold. However our damaged mining equipment has really hurt our production so this will be the last shipment of iron and gold we will be able to produce for a while unless we obtain new equipment

Fortunately we already told him we wanted mining equipment for our planned colonization of Tarkon V, a barren world in our system rich in mineral deposits....
He has shipments available of all the typical stuff he sells us, plus he has obtained several ships full of mining and industrial equipment, originally intended for the western frontier...

What would we like to trade from him?(choose 4)

A squadron of 5 baneblade tanks(limit of 1 buy)

A shipment of heavy weapons(missile launchers, autocannons, lascannons)

A shipment of 100,000 lasrifles

A Company sized unit of Leman Russ tanks(20 tanks)

A Company worth of Basilisk Artillery(20 mobile Artillery pieces)

>>
>>1683024
>>you are contacted by Ishmael, with a controversial idea to use Gideons geneseed and even the geneseed of the fallen chaos marines to attempt to create a handful of marines on our own.

Must have missed that, well in any case all I remember was a super soldier program, not making SM, cool either way though.

And how are there this many people in a WH40k quest that don't even know how SM are made
>>
>>1683030
I readily admit I don't know everything in the 40k universe and it's not quite as grimdark as some people would like, however this is how I'm running the quest and I'm open to constructive criticism. I take artistic license with a few things to keep it fun and progress moving, when in real 40k I imagine a governor would be lucky to accomplish 1/10 of what we have with bureaucratic and other interference
>>
>>1683057
You tell tzavaras to bring the mining equipment, basilisks, ogryn, and industrial equipment to Tarkon iv and order the surface to prepare our outgoing shipments....

You blow off some steam with your bolt pistol at the shooting range in the station, each bang accompanied by the dark memories of fighting the chaos boarding parties.... you still have nightmares and wake up in a sweat occasionally even months afterwards.

Still feeling stressed you take tarquin for a run, addressing your new honor guard along the way, seeing them just after a long training session with zachias who is drinking them harder than ever before after the best of their number were slaughtered protecting you from the chaos terminators....
>>
So in any case, if we're going with a program for make our own marines we definitely need to get our super soldier program up and going.

Might want to allow ourselves to be enhanced as well once the program gets rolling and any kinks worked out.

>Idk man, it sounds pretty hard to make a space marine, and we are going to try from scratch. We should keep absolute secrecy if or when we do this or we may anger a Space Marine chapter.

Well, harboring Fallen DA already has the DA wanting to push our shit in, I remember there being some ambiguity as to the intentions of our friendly Lord Inquisitor as well.

While genetic modifications are frowned upon, it's nowhere near making SM. If we're going to be doing the one that will net us an exterminatus, we'd best get to making non SM super soldiers to beef ourselves up as well. Could be used as a cover for rumors of our SM getting out too.

Ishmael reports that he has finished harvesting the gene seed successfully salvaging Gideon's along with a half dozen traitor marines, the other 20 specimens were too corrupted for use and had to be destroyed...

Btw I should probably point out that this is tech heresy of the highest order.
Tampering with the Emperor's gene-seed is considered arch heresy.

So, you know, try not to get caught. Although this system seems super heretical as it is, so they probably won't figure it out since the only connection you really have is to anything illegal is that shady rogue trader, whom you don't have right to question since he sort of has the warrant of trade.

You contact Ismael and give him the go-ahead on the gland warrior project as well....

A few months pass relatively uneventfully as the wreckage and damage of the chaos raid is fully cleaned up. You participate in several honor guard training sessions, surprised by how brutal the training regime imposed by Zachias is, despite you knowing what goes into it. You come out of it realizing you might have to work out a lot harder if you want to be able to protect yourself from any enemy troops or assassins.

You also have the station defense crew run extensive gunnery drills, after the embarassing display of letting all 3 chaos boarding shuttles make it past our defenses, resulting in the deaths of hundreds of our best troops and most of your honor guard.....

One day you are awoken early in the morning by Captain Felix, who has retaken his spot overseeing command of all space forces in the PDF. He reports a contact has entered the system, identifying itself as one of Tzavaras freighters....

You give the permission for them to board and meet the freighter Captain, while your men begin unloading the goods....

The mining and manufacturing equipment are immediately sent down to the surface. While the Basilisks are prepared to be shipped to the mechanized regiment.....

The Ogyrn, scared and confused are prodded into one of the larger hangars, where you meet their leader Crog, an Imperial guard veteran and product of the bone'ead procedure, along with a few other members of his tribe, after a clerical error had them decommissioned from the Imperial guard....

Where should we settle our new friends....

A. The poles, where the cold weather is suitable for their habitation, food and shelter can be provided to make the settlement process easier
B. Have them settle near our city on the surface, where they can lend their strength to labor in the fields and the factories
C. Have them settle in the jungles near the mines, where they can lend their strength to mining operations

You inform Crog that his people will be settled on the poles, and order shelters and food provided to make settlement easier, you also grant them a statue of the Emperor and a vox for communication with your government....

After taking care of Crog, you have a few drinks with the freighter Captain, as you are always interested in hearing about the goings on outside of our quiet little corner of the Imperium....

He tells you there is a rumor of a primarch returning on the far side of the Imperium, which you both have a good laugh about before getting on to a more serious topic, apparently a Admiral named Verast Urtov associated with the nearby second Sabbat worlds crusade has gone rogue, taking his flotilla of ships with him, including his Flagship, an Armaggedon class Battlecruiser, the Vengeance of Madron, along with a few lunar class cruisers and a half dozen escorts, they have already attacked several independent freighters and ironically the supply convoys that his flotilla was put together to protect. They are know preying on ships throughout Sector space and rumours abound that the former Admiral is in league with Xeno pirates.....

With the mines and processing centers back to full operational capacity with the replacement equipment we can order our dockyard to build a new ship(we are limited to escorts, transports and freighters at this point)

A. Build a claymore class corvette
B. Build a system defense monitor
C. Build a gas freighter

Your order Xeroth to direct the shipyard to construct a system defense monitor, however we will have to trade for the weapons and shields to mount on it, as we lack the technology to build shield generators and lance weapons ourselves....

The Planetary defense monitor will be a valuable asset to defend the system, while slow and small, they are extremely well armored and armed for their size and combined with the weapons on the station and our more mobile ships, will be a potent addition to the system defense...

With an eye for increasing production on our planet, you also have Xeroth and your educated Order of the sky administrators look for ways to improve on processes and expand our existing operations on the surface, they come up with several suggestions....

A. Expanding the iron mines, generating more raw material for construction of machines, weapons and ships
B. Expanding the gold mines, valuable for their currency value and use in electronics
C. An analysis of the soil in the jungle leads our people to believe that is extremely fertile, making it extremely productive for agricultural development.....
D. Other(Write-in)

>>1686449
We will be upgrade the size and scale of our shipyard in time, but given our current wealth and technology it will take some time....

We will also likely need assistance from the forgeworld to build it, who are not keen are creating shipyards that can compete with them, even during a dire wartime situation....

There is also the question of politics, as our rapid growth in less than 10 years has caught the attention of the Sector governor and several other politically high ranking individuals in the region....
>>
>>1686437
Well were near the imperiums border in Segmentum Pacificus so we are not likely at risk from the Eye of terror, however the Imperium could abandon us to save its core territories and leave us to fend for ourselves....

Your sister is also sent with a large number of family trained stormtroopers, 1,000 in all for her personal protection....

You grant Crog permission, and have a few shuttles sent to pick up the new Ogryn volunteers

You go back to reviewing production figures on your datapad when you receive a vox message from the Inquisition outpost, Corean has given you a mission, you are to have the Edge of Tomorrow, when its repairs are finished and a contigent of troops deploy to the Rorcha system, a 30 lightyears away, considered to be a several day voyage. The system has gone dark for a few months, and the Inquisition has "requested" your help and investigating the situation, they will be sending a light cruiser as well as a small contigent of stormtroopers as well and the mission will be lead by a Young Inquisitor by the name of Mardis Korval...

The Edge of tomorrow is supposed to be ready in a few weeks, giving you time to gather the troops and supplies needed for the mission....

It is a relatively relaxing day of exercise and a romp with a pretty girl from your station staff when you are notified of an issue on the surface by one of your staff, and are forced to look into it...

Apparently one of the local Ecclesiarchy priests has been caught extorting local leaders with threats of accusations of heresy if they dont comply, demanding wealth, women and other things....

It has caused a disturbance of the peace, and the local lords request your judgement and resolution of the issue....

A day of labor is put in to set up a grand stand from which to do the execution near the grand imperial shrine....

A call is put out to the leaders of the various clans and tribes, as well as all the other members of the Ecclessiarchy on the planet to attend the execution

A week passes and everyone that needs to has arrived. A spectacle is made of the event, with crowds of commoners looking on, along with the planets leaders and various members of the priesthood...

Abrams is in charge, along with you and a small contigent of your honor guard....

He passes the sentence as the corrupt priest is brought onto the pyre platform...

He grants the corrupt priest a final chance to repent his sins to the God Emperor before his death, and he refuses spitting in Abrams face, to the shock of the crowd, as he is dragged and chained to the bundle of fresh cut dry wood....

A young priest carrying a torch walks out of the Shrine onto platform handing it to Abrams who lights the pyre, to the adulation and cheers of the crowd as the guilty begins to burn...

As the corrupt priest burns, he begins to scream in agony, and in his final moments yells
"Death to the false Emperor!, Praise Slaanesh, the true prince of pleasure!"

The shock of his statement silences the crowd, and even Abrams is temporarily cowed....

What do we do now?(This is a write-in)

2 Days later the ship and your contigent set off with the Inquistion forces, if all goes well they will be back in a few weeks....

In the meantime you monitor the progress on the chaos investigation and plan out another major project on the surface....

You have the gold mines expanded under the watchful eye of Xeroth, digging more deeply and greedily than before, extra care must be taken for the mine shafts to be secure and safe....

This will increasing gold mining yields considerably and give us more commodities to trade with....

A month passes relatively uneventfully, as the mine is set up and brought to maximum capacity....

You are taking Tarquin for a jog around the station when you are alerted over the vox, that there has been a few contacts detected on the edge of the system....

You are expecting the return of the Inquisition force, but you are surprised to see several ships bearing your family's insignia on the pictograph, apparently the flotilla carrying your sister and the fresh colonists....

As the ships grow closer, a shuttle breaks off from the group, carrying your sister Lyra, who contacts you over the Vox, sending her greetings and requesting permission to board...

You give the order to allow her permission and try to think of something to say, as its been nearly 10 years since you have seen her, Lyra was a little girl when you left to take over Tarkon IV....

You are surprised that your family would ship her off to a primitive violent feudal world of the Imperium, even if it is run by you...

The level of luxuries and amenities pale in comparison to a highly developed hiveworld in a highly developed sector in Segmentum Solar....

You decide to give her a general greeting and leave it at that for now, although you have many questions for her in private....

You give her a formal greeting with an honor guard and your dress uniform as she boards the station, clearly not expecting such a introduction...

You then give her a brief tour of the station before having her come to your quarters for a private dinner, where you discuss recent events within the family and why she was sent here....

She gladly gossips about whos marrying who and it seems that life has gone on, virtually uninterrupted by your being sent to the outer edge of the Imperium, she asks how Karl is doing, and you tell her he is doing well in his very important role as lumbermaster, overseeing multiple camps and laying off his the booze for the time being....

She dodges any questions about why she is here, but claims that your father thought it would be best if she stayed with you for now....

You have her set up in some of the finest quarters on the station, and need to find something productive for her to do, lest she start trouble....

She is well educated, but lacks experience in doing almost any kind of work, but she is skilled in dealing with people, especially nobility and people of authority...

A. Make her a minister of agriculture
B. Make her a minister of mining
C. Have her oversee the city, working as a mayor and lieutenant governor of sorts

You decide to appoint her as mayor for our city on the surface and as your main official in charge of surface operations and relations with the local nobility and tribal leaders....

Despite her insisting in using her Valoran Stormtroopers as a her only bodyguard, you have a small number of honor guards assigned to her, citing security concerns due to the chaos investigation and her lack of familiarity with the planets culture and her new position....

You finally relax in your private quarters, when you are alerted that the Inquisition expedition has returned, completely intact. You briefly have a conversation with Corean over an encrypted channel on the vox, he tells you that Rorscha has been destroyed and thouroughly looted, and that there were warp trails matching dark eldar ships in the system when the force arrived....

They apparently launched a recovery operation, and searched the planet for anything useful that may remain before departing back to Tarkon IV....

Corean recommends we send a few transports and the Edge of Tomorrow back to launch rescue operations of the stranded civilians and any other survivors of the attack....

However you after your troops land on the station, a Droptrooper Captain requests to speak with you personally...

Keeping your guards close, you agree to speak with the man in your quarters, who asks that we please go back to the planet to save the people stranded there after the raid ruined the world....

He also says though they launched a recovery operation, they were given orders to ignore the civilian survivors in the main cities on the planet, and secure a ruined complex in one the minor cities....

He claims that as part of the team sent to the secure the complex, they found ruins underneath it, that look to be of ancient and likely of xeno origin... He also recalls being told to return to their ships, where he was able to see the Inquistion pulling a strange object, covered with a canvas out of the ruins and placing them onto a Inquisition shuttle....

You decide to launch a rescue mission but ignore the mans tale of the strange Inquisition object as its none of your business, and ask the Captain to never speak of this again, an hour later you are sitting with you sister for dinner, where she is acting strange, looking stressed out and unwell, her skin pale and hands trembling....

You are alerted by the passage of an Inquisition cruiser near the station on its way to their outpost....

When you ask her what is wrong she once again dodges the question.... She asks for one of her armsmen to take her to her quarters but you deny her and demand an answer.

She seems to calm slightly and tells you that since she was a little girl she has had strange visions of unspeakable horrors as well as calm gentle beings, lurking somewhere out there....

Your father, spoke to an friendly imperial official about getting her help, and was told the likely cause of her condition, he also told your father the reprecussions of harboring a rogue Psyker....despite their best efforts to medicate her and keep her isolated, incidents began to start, she got mocked by one of your cousins in a cruel way and reacted by setting dining table aflame, in front of several relatives and guests, it was after that your father decided to send her out to you where she could be safe, and isolated from disrupting the family business dealings and reputation as well as keep her away from the prying eyes of any authorities....

You dont know what to say after finding out you sister is a Rogue Psyker and are extremely angry at your father for putting you in such a compromising position....

Your sisters condition seems to improve after the Inquisition's ship passing, as whatever they had aboard was generating a large warp presence, likely the artifact they found on Rorsha....

You launch the Edge of Tomorrow with several shuttles back to Rorscha where they can try to rescue some of the survivors.....

They find several intact survival shelters in large cities, where several thousand civilians were hiding out.

They also find an underground bunker in one of the major cities where a few thousand Imperial Guard managed to survive through the apparently brutal but efficient leadership of a Commissar Burres.....

All in all the surviving population after the raid and subsequent chaos and starvation is around 10,000 people, which we can save and bring back to Tarkon IV with us....

Alternatively we could try to help them set up a secure outpost to begin rebuilding civilization of Rorscha, where they will likely be answering to whoever you appoint in charge of them as the Governor was killed in the raid and it will take some time for the Administratum to get around to appointing a new one.....

A. Take the survivors back with us
B. Have them stay and try to rebuild the planet

You decide to have the survivors stay in one of the more intact cities from the dark eldar raid, where they have access to farms and other food sources, and power could be turned back on....

The people are doing better with the humanitarian aid given to them, but many of the survivors are psychologically scarred seeing their their friends and family kidnapped and slaughtered by Dark Eldar raiders and the pure destruction wrought on the various cities done purely for the Dark Eldars twisted sadistic pleasure....

You decide to place your sister in charge of the reconstruction efforts, and send a small force of soldiers and administrators to help protect and stabilize the situation long term, it will likely be a decade at least, before the administratum sends a replacement, especially with the amount of wars going on....

Meanwhile back on the station, you get a notification that your forces have successfully rounded up several suspects in the chaos investigation, including several other priests and Ecclesiarchy officials as well several local leaders, although the one thing binding all the suspects together is an old hermit in the countyside, who is referred to as the Alchemist....

Allegedly this "Alchemist" found a way to refine frenzon into a less harsh version of the combat drug frenzine, that serves as a stimulant and pain killer, and began distributing it to several people, including the already corrupt priest, who had clearly taken the first few steps towards heresy on his own...

After getting a number of people addicted to the drug and joining them in increasing debauched parties he would convince the party goers to pursue higher and higher sources of pleasure and debauchery, the reports says this include, large numbers of whores, frenzon, expensive wine and orgies going through the night....

Our men are currently combing the surface looking for this Alchemist, which we now believe to be some sort of agent for the ruinous powers, it is possible they have already escaped offworld....

With the search continuing, the alchemists location has been identified to possibly in a caravan, of a half dozen horse drawn carriages, travelling one of the primitive dirt roads on Tarkon IV....

A team is put together to question and search the caravan, including 2 chimeras fully loaded with troops and a fully loaded valkyrie flying
overhead

The initial search and questioning goes well, as the first 2 wagons quickly and eagerly cooperate, either out of fear or loyalty, your men find only some food and some trinkets but upon searching the third wagon, they find a load of frenzon, the wagon driver claims that he was simply hired by a man to carry it to a nearby settlement....

The rest of the search is inconclusive as the rest of the wagons were clean, you then have your men shift their attention to the settlement...

When they finally arrive at the settlement, they find it... slightly out of the ordinary, with a quaint village, typical of the region on the surface, but a sophisticated drug lab in the basement of one the buildings....

The local people seem unaware of the drug labs presence, and are give your men a description of the man who lived there....

You have follow up teams, check all that came into contact for chaos taints and attempt to continue the search, but the trail has run cold....

You are contacted by Corean, who tells you he has to return to Segmentum Solar for a few months, to advocate for support for the far western fringe of the Imperium....

He tells you that an Inquisitor Davos Kant will be temporarily taking over command of the Inquisition forces in the region and that our full cooperation and support is expected.....

Several days pass, and frustrated at the lack of progress, you are alerted by a sudden call over the vox from the astropath, who tells you that an independent freighter is under attack by pirates, in a nearby system....

Should we attempt to intervene? Edge of Tommorrow and Redline are on station, but the Hecate class cruiser we recovered is still undergoing massive refits, little more than a hulk now and the defense monitor, is still a few months away from deployment....

There is also an Inquistion corvette in orbit over their outpost, and its unknown what they will do....

"Follow my ship and show the pirates no mercy!"

With the channel closed, his corvette is detected moving towards the edge of the system....

You tensely sit on your command chair, watching the pict recording of the ships moving into position, when your Augur officer reports a contact at the edge of the system....

Its flagged as an Imperial freighter, and immediately begin begging for help on all vox channels, screaming towards Tarkon IV and the protective cover of the space station....

The Inquisitor orders your ships to take up new positions around the likely point of entry, where the pirates, if they follow will likely emerge....

5 minutes later, there is a warp activity as
2 Lunar class cruisers and 2 escorts exit the warp

Their commander, identifying himself as Captain Dane Farzad, of the Independent people's liberation fleet demands the surrender of the freighter, along with our warships, in exchange for the Pirates future "protection"

Not realizing they are facing an Inquistion ship, the Inquisitor does not deign to respond and gives orders to open fire....

Now I want to explain my new roll system I want to try to use

You will always roll a d100, but the level of difficulty will measure the rolls required for success

Easy an average of 50 is considered an ideal outcome
Normal an average of 60 is considered an ideal outcome
Hard an average of 80 is considered an ideal outcome
Near Impossible an average of 100 is considered an ideal outcome

Increments of 10 will determine the success,

So on an easy roll, an average of 40 would be good, 30 a mediocre outcome, 20 a bad outcome and 10 the worst possible outcome....

Average rolls will always tend towards the middle strongly. I agree that averaging rolls in this strong a way is a bad bet.

To do a "near impossible" win with an ideal success is literally a 1-1,000,000 chance. While that may sound realistic, it isn't that great for Quests where we'll want the "near impossible" to be an actually possible thing.

Through a combination of evasion and enemy counter measures, half the lance shots and cyclonic missiles missed the cruiser, instead striking the empty void....

You seem to knockout the cruisers bow and starboard weapon batteries, forcing it to rotate to continue firing, giving the Redline a brief respite, from being targetted itself, its void shields already at 50%....

The Inquistion corvette seems to be taking the lions share of the punishment, getting into a long range exchange with the enemy flotilla, followed by a broadside fight with an enemy corvette, their shields are reading dangerously low and you are unsure how long they can hold....

The Inquisiton corvette seems to be limping away from the fight after disabling the corvette it was duelling with, but the other enemy cruiser is giving chase....

Your two ships once again trade fire with the enemy cruiser and corvette.

The enemy cruiser once again evades many of the lances and missiles fired, but is unable to avoid all the attacks, with their engines taking damage and and several small hull breaches detected after the failure of their void shields....

They are attempting to run, while the enemy corvette makes for the Redline

The Inquisition ship, despite attempting to run for the cover of our space station, has been caught by the enemy cruiser....

From the station Augur array, you detect the enemy cruiser come alongside the Inquisition corvette, and the launch of boarding torpedos towards the Inquisition ship, which despite its best efforts, over a dozen make it past its defense, further disabling the ship and spilling pirate boarders inside....

Average of 90 a major success

The Edge of Tomorrow is able to manuever itself to cover the Redline, engaging the enemy corvette at range, disabling its engines, and then again with a devastating broadside, turning the pirate corvette into a lifeless hulk in moments....

The Redline now succesfully pulling back towards the station, occasionally firing a shot at the enemy cruiser, which is occupied in boarding the Inquisition corvette.

As the battle rages aboard the corvette, you receive a simple final message from the Inquisition vessel "The Emperor Protects"

A moment after receiving it, another alarm starts blaring in the command center, as your Augur officer reports a breach has been detected in the Inquistions ships warp drive....

You are helpless to look on as a small warp rift opens, devouring the corvette, and subsuming the enemy cruiser with it.....

You have your ships burn full engines away from the rift, still at the edge of your system...

The two disabled pirate ships are now begging for rescue over the vox, signaling their surrender over and over again, as their crippled ships slowly begin drifting towards the rift....

What shall we do?

You have the Edge of tomorrow attempt boarding operations on the enemy corvette first which lies closer to the rift, heavily damaged, and drifting towards the rift at an increasingly rapid pace, your men quickly board and take prisoner the few dozen crewmen left alive, most of which are seriously wounded

Unfortunately there is no time to try to save or even salvage the ship itself as it drifts closer and closer, circling the rift like an object being sucked into a drainpipe

The enemy lunar class cruiser, is further away from the rift and not as badly damaged, but its engines are disabled and it has lost void shielding...

You are able to board it, and make contact with its second in command, Lieutenant Marko, who surrenders the ship to you, preferring life in prison to a death in the warp...

Your men get a status report from him and quickly evacuate the surviving pirate crew....

They manage to find several prisoners in the ships hold as well, including several merchants and freighter crew, as well as a few dozen women, who appear to have been taken from one the primitive worlds in the region and used for the crews pleasure....

Captain Felix is having his engineers look at the engines now, and believes he can can get partial propulsion back, before the ship drifts too close

The single contact is identified as a Dagon-Class Grand Cruiser, known to be long out of service with the fleets of the Imperium

It hails you as the Wrath of Manachea, part of the 937th expeditionary fleet, and demands us to identify ourselves. They claim to not recognize our ship designs...

You respond on the vox, telling the shipmaster you may know of what happened to them, and aknowledging our use of Imperial communication codes, you start asking how long they were in the warp...

The shipmaster tells you that they were lost for almost a year, and were deep in the warp, their navigator barely able to see the astronomicans guiding light, when suddenly a window in the warp revealed itself nearby, where the astronomican shown through bright, they followed that window and now they are here....

He decides that he will send a small shuttle with him and a few representatives to find out our true nature, but states that his ship is low on provisions, and has taken some damage in the warp.

After meeting him, and even introducing Zachias to him, the old Luna Wolf begins to trust you...

Seeing some of the technology and the ships around he finally asks what year it is....

It takes several minutes to explain how much time they have missed, since being lost in the warp on a compliance mission near the halo stars 10,000 years ago....

He then asks to get in contact with Warmaster, if he is still alive at any rate, or even 16th Legion command, for further orders.

He also tells you that his small crew of Luna Wolves was accompanied by what remains of a cohort of Solar Auxilia who were reinforcements for the legion on the eastern edge of the galaxy, they are all currently in a state of cryosleep....

What should we do with these new arrivals?(This is a write in)

You slowly fill the Shipmaster in on the situation in the modern day Imperium, including the Horus Heresy, where Horus betrayed the Emperor and was slain, and the Emperor ascended to godhood....

He immediately refutes your claim that the Emperor is a god, getting a smile at Sergeant Zachias, who had the same arguments with you when he first arrived....

You tell him regardless of the truth of the matter, people take it very seriously that the Emperor is now a god, and that Imperial Cult is law now....

You also tell him the status of the legions, and their members, that sided with Horus, and their fate if caught by the Authorities...

This leaves the shipmaster deeply depressed as the Imperium has fallen far short of its ideals from the Great Crusade....

You offer to supply them and fix their ship and at least temporarily shelter them on your planet, giving them an isolated settlement on the continent and some rooms on the space station...

You see the Luna Wolves have already reignited a friendly rivalry with Zachias, who wants to test their mettle in the training arena....

Harlan also informs you that their ship was carrying war material enough to equip the Cohort of Solar Auxilia it was carrying but also to resupply and rearm several companies worth of Luna Wolves...

You awaken the leaders of the Auxilia cohort, including their tribune and several sub commanders...

They are filled by the Shipmaster, Zachias and yourself as to the current situation and plan to temporarily house them on the surface....

You also allow the friendly duel to be held for the troops and high ranking officials in your government, as a great spectator event between Zachias and some other "White Consuls" a superb demonstration of martial skill....

A few weeks go by as the Astartes are settled in to quarters on the space station, the 2 dozen Luna Wolves include a terminator squad, and the rest are a part of the crusades fleet personnel serving as ship commanders and pilots...

You also are given an update on the status of your ships, as the Edge and Redline are finally back to full operational capacity, while the Hecate class cruiser captured from the heretics was coming along nicely, and expected to be ready in the next few months, as a light carrier, we should look into acquiring some fighter craft to operate from it....

The captured Lunar class, is still heavily damaged and will take at least 6 months to be operational again, and will likely require a replacement voidshield generator and lance batteries....

Almost magically you receive a astropathic call from Tzavaras later that day looking to see if he can sell you anything....

He also wanted to thank you for dealing with the pirates, which were a thorn in his side and for freeing several of their prisoners including a freighter crew that had been working for him.....

Advanced genetic mod equipment
A shipment of plasma weapons

You send out the order to Tzavaras who says he can get it to you in a few days...

The following days are busy with you getting the rest of the Solar Auxilia clued in and settled in their isolated settlement

In the meantime you are contacted by a representative of the Administratum, stating that there are reports of your planets population and economic growth from several sources, and that they will be sending out a ship to assess a new tithe for Tarkon IV, to meet the increasing demands for the wars against the enemies of the God-Emperor...

You have the Edge and Manacheas fury moved to a nearby system to hide, while you make sure to hide our other surface based assets in seemingly plain primitive villages....

You expect the Admnistratum sometime in the next solar month...

Less than a week later Tzavara's freighter arrives delivering the goods, which are loaded onto the docks quickly and efficiently as always...

You have a few drinks with the freighter captain, who thanks you for dealing with the pirates and tells you hes heard horrible rumors of a great warp rift, emerging in some parts of the Imperium, and how hes seen warp storms stronger than anything hes seen in his lifetime, cutting off whole sectors from the greater Imperium....

You thank the captain, and load on the freed freighter crew from the pirate ship, transferring them to his care....

You are alerted the next day, by one of your military adjuntants that there is something strange about the plasma weapons, that they are not imperial standard, being longer and more rectangular in shape, they also lack a heat sink to release overheated plasma.

However they seem to be effective and accurate especially at long range.....

What do you want to do about these strange weapons? Nobody seems to know where the design came from but the few troops that have used them seem to like them enough....

(This is a write-in)
>>
>>1697553
>Ask our good buddies that are from the Luna Wolves and DA's about them to see if they know or the other Guard leaders.

Oh goddamnit RT. You know we can't just have these willy nilly about. Gotta imperialize them.
>>
>>1697553
Have our tech priest take a look at one of them and see if he can copy or improve the design, or at least ID it's origin. But let the troops use them in the meantime. Check up on the Astartes/super soldier project and see how the new equipment is working out.

You have Xeroth take a look at the weapons, as well your military leaders...

Xeroth tells you that was made using Imperial methods, but the design is very different from traditional Imperial plasma weapons which fire bolts of superheated plasma, which while incredibly destructive are somewhat innaccurate at long range and susceptible to overheating the weapon they are fired out of.
In contrast this weapon, uses magnetic force to fire out a slug, that is turned plasma through a electromagnetic effect and then launched out of the barrel of the weapon at extremely high speed....

Captain Salazar Masson, former Elysian droptrooper, mercenary leader and now the commander of our airborne forces, recalls seeing similar weapons at a briefing early in his career when he was serving in the western Imperium... He believes it has commonalities with weapons used by the Tau Empire....

While your men check out the strange plasma rifles, you ask Gideon about the progress of our two projects....

The super soldier project is going well, and he believes that within a few months we can begin testing on volunteers, using some genetic modification and surgical implanting of a few additional organs, he also would like to look at the genetically modified Solar Auxilia troops, for inspiration, and possibly using some of the same techniques used in creating them...

As for the geneseed project he has succesfully stored and preserved the 7 geneseed specimens

He also states that the only way to generate new geneseed, is to harvest it from dead Astartes or from the matured progenoid gland of a living Astartes, which mature every 4-5 years

Ishmael believes that now that we have the technology and ability to safely store geneseed, he and Zachias glands are ripe for harvest

He also asks if we think we could see about getting the gene seed of the Luna Wolves, even though we dont know if they trust enough to go for that....

Perhaps we should have a joint meeting with the DA, LW, and SA leadership and discuss these things.

While you were busy dealing with the pirates, and the subsequent arrival of the Luna Wolves, the search for the Alchemist has continued at a low boil....

Another lead has come up with a man being described as similar to the Alchemist has come up in the most suprising of circles...

You recall your friend, Johan Achilles Cicero, fond of partying and the governor of a world a few systems over, describing a man similar to the Alchemist as his drug supplier, who also happened to be supplying a drug based on frenzon, a rare substance outside of Tarkon IV....

Since he doesn't have a astropath it will require a ship to contact your old friend...

Have xeroth keep one of the plasma guns and see if he can copy and learn to produce more of them, allow the troops to keep using the them as there seems to be no harm in them. Allow Gideon to continue the project with what he needs but hold off on asking the luna wolves for now, we haven't developed relations with them as well as we have the dark angels. Form a meeting with the luna astartes and the Auxilia on what they shall be doing long term, see if you can offer them positions working here.

You decide to send a courier ship ahead to set up a personal meeting with Johan, preferably inviting him for a personal meeting, and allowing him a tour of the planet, while discussing the Alchemist investigation and potential business opportunities...

While you wait for the couriers return, you have a meeting held by the leaders of your PDF, the 2 Dark Angels, the Luna Wolves and the Solar Auxilia.

You discuss the new plasma weapons, and even the 30k Auxilia and Astartes are impressed by the design and superior range and firepower, the weapons are also light and fairly easy to use, if there could be a way to mass manufacture them, they would make a major improvement over the lasguns issued to common Imperial troops...

Xeroth and our engineers are also interested in the advanced carapace armor of the Solar Auxilia, which is designed to be fully functional for hazardous environments and void combat in addition to being stronger than ordinary carapace armor, along with their volkite weapons, used by officers and squad leaders, and the tribunes archeotech pistol, with along Zachias, archeotech pistol, give us two designs to examine....

Even their lasrifles are more advanced than those used today, with superior firepower and rate of fire, although they pale in comparison to the strange plasma rifles...

You have Xeroth, who is generally fairly radical and given a large degree of autonomy on Tarkon IV, in his service to you who believes that the weapons are heretical, but since they were clearly made using Imperial techniques that it is possible to make them using the tools of the Machine God, and Xeroth, a young tech priest, still retains enough of his humanity to have a sense of ambition, wishing to become an Archmagos someday, he wishes to claim the weapon design as his own and submit it to the nearby forgeworld, and ask for permission to mass manufacture it, as Xeroth believes he knows the basics of the design enough to replicate it here on Tarkon IV....

A. Have him send it to the forgeworld and hope to get it retroactively accepted despite not being derived from an STC design(This will upset Tzavaras)
B. Order Xeroth to secretly attempt to manufacture the weapons for our own forces
C. Contact Tzavaras and demand the origin of the weapons(Can be selected with the other options)
D. Dispose of the heretical weapons, despite their superior design properties

You have Xeroth set up a small scale facility secretly in the mountains where he tests a new manufacturing process to get the weapons made, he manages to construct several prototypes, but they are heavier and bulkier compared to the original rifles they were copied from, Xeroth says this is mainly due to a difference in the materials used, while Xeroth is using weapons grade Imperial steel and other common materials, the originals are made out of plasteel, which requires an extensive refinement process from regular steel, and specialized equipment to make....

It would behoove us to get the equipment to make plasteel, however asking for it may raise Tzavaras suspicions that we are attempting to make the weapons for ourselves....

While this is going on, you continue to have things carefully hidden, as the day comes for the Administratum visit, the bureaucrats arrive in large passenger ship and dismiss your pleasantries and the small feast you have laid out for them, demanding to immediately view your production facilities...

You take them on a tour of your mines, and fly over the Frenzon plantations and large scale farming on Tarkon IV, along with your small manufacturies...

They come to the conclusion you were expecting but it still hurts, when they say they are doubling our annual tithes, which so far have gone by fairly uneventfully with a portion of yielded resources for tithing purposes...

We will have to increase our yields dramatically if we wish to have any resources to trade....

The Administratum officials, usually approachable and sometimes willing to take bribes and gifts, are extremely brief and professional with you, only staying one night and leaving a dataslate filled with this years new tithe demands, before taking off in their ship and reminding you that the tithing ship will be here in 3 months time....

You are able to scramble the resources by setting all yields aside for tithing, but this is a major detriment for our ability to trade with Tzavaras and others....

Fortunately the inspectors missed our gas mining operation, with our two gas hauler ships out of the system, still paying off our lunar cruiser we purchased from them....

Within a year it will be paid off, and we will be able to purchase another large ship for them, or perhaps some sort of boon or technological expertise, as developed worlds in this region are few and far between....
>>
>>1698118
You have a private meeting with the Luna Wolves leadership and the Solar Auxilia commanders about their decisions for the future.

They claim that the more they learn about the modern Imperium, the more they find it was not the Imperium that they once fought for, and like Zachias and Ishmael want to continue to fight for the Emperor's original ideals of the enlightenment and unification of mankind...

They wish to stay on with your forces for the time being at least, as they are loath to reveal themselves to the greater Imperium...

Alright guys I gotta take a break for an hour or two, feel free to discuss the quest and please read through the old threads if you have just joined us
>>

We had a world we wanted to colonize for mining right? What do we need to do that?

Whelp, Welcome them onboard but tell them the color's and stuff might need to be touched on the ships and things. We always need more hands.
>>
>>1698148
Colony ship. That greedy jew Tzavaras was trying to rip us off in return for one.

>>1698143
Well good to have them with us.

We should perhaps look into building a top notch fortress on the planet, built into a mountain and going deep into the earth. It would be a good place to hide away Space Marines and such.
>>
Also we really need to find a trainer for our sister, untrained psychers are bad news.
>>
>>1698181
not a bad idea at all, but undoubtedly would be a difficult thing to find.
>>
>>1698143
So a few more space marines and a regiment of Solar Auxilia, definitely a nice find. The doubled tithe hurts but it seems like we'll be able to handle it as we keep increasing our resource production. I guess the few things to discuss are

Expanding our mining operation on Tarkon V

Eventually developing enough of a relationship with the luna wolves and Solar to hopefully keep them under our employment long term, as well as see if we can talk the luna wolves into being part of Gideon's gene seed experimentation

Plaststeel without alerting Tzavaras, though that'll be difficult

Helping our sister overcome her lack of control, she is family after all and a psycker can always be useful

expansion of current resource gathering goes without saying

and of course developing, increasing, equippeding, and improving upon our PDF is alway a priority.

There's a ton of different things to do at this point, where do you guys think we should start?
>>
>>1698222
Tarkon V ans Sister training, having an untrained psycher is just asking for a Demon possession so we need a teacher immediately.
>>
>>1698241
Then once we've aquired the appropriate funds, we should contact Tzavaras, he'll probably be the only guy we know that could get us a veteran psycker to help our sister. Plus, we'll have a well disciplined psycker, that's always a plus.
>>
>>1698222
We should work on expanding our forces, we've got what, 30-40k or so men all told? Perhaps not so much specialized forces but simply upping the numbers. Fortifications, orbital defenses, all that good stuff.

Getting someone to train our sister wouldn't be a bad idea at all.
>>
>>1698161
>>1698181
>>1698222
All things I support.

>>1698143
Lets start with the easy stuff, A Good reliable trainer for our sister. He doesn't have to make her the best or into a weapon, she just doesn't have to get possessed and end with us having to to put her down.

Settle in and befriend the Luna Wolves and the Solar Auxilia, provide them with a new home and life, learn about them and their beliefs and ideals, so we can try to adopt some of them.

Have a well designed and thought out Plasma rifle using whatever inspiration from the 2 designs in our own stocks to make improved versions (might be good proof to have lots of prototypes and early variants to show development history so we don't get accused of heresy).

expand our mining operations off world.

Send another shipment of aid and a regiment of our PDF to Rorscha and get that planet up and running and producing goods for us.

Re: Sister

Why not just make her a very comfy black cell (i.e. room with hexagrammatic warding and psy dampeners) for a bedroom at the least? Having a safe place where she can relax because none of the creepy warp things can get to her would be a real step in the right direction.

Shoot, we don't even need to have the thing located underground. A bedroom in a " governors retreat" lodge would work fine.

Also, for those going "what if the inquisition notices the room", well, I'd note that a gibbering untrained witch would be more noticeable than hexagrammatic warding covered with plaster paint, and gilt.
>>
>>1698717
>>1698717
Why not just give her a amulet or necklace that does the same or makes it easier to relax and ignore the voices.

Or get her a bf that's also a null Bonus: we don't have to worry about her getting pregnant since she'll have "headaches" all the time!

You tell him you are coming to visit in the next few days, and for him to expect you

As you are deciding your security detail, Tribune Varus Quintinius, leader of Solar Auxilia offers to have a company of his men join your honor guard, as he would like his troops to pay their keep, for being given our world as a sanctuary, and the rest as a separate independent branch of our PDF forces, with him as the commander....

You Honor guard unit already consists of a nearly 2,000 stormtroopers, and 500 Native warriors, given elite training by Zachias, mainly armed with chainswords and chain glaves, outfitted in carapace armor

You also have the Order of the Sky, a knightly order that takes in young nobles and men of promise and educates them in the ways of governance, philosophy, diplomacy and most importantly the arts of war...

They number around 1000, and feed into your Honor guard as well as administrative roles, and officer roles in the military and can be called in as an extra Honor guard reserve as well

The Solar Auxilia's exotic armor and weapons would also fit in well with the appearance of a Lord's Honor Guard, who are often equipped with the finest equipment money can buy, sometimes to the point of ridiculousness of putting untrained amateur guards, drawn from spoiled aristocratic stock, with power weapons and other ultra expensive wargear, who often get slaughtered in any kind of real fight.....

You decide to ride your friend Johan's planet in your cruiser, staying in the captains quarters for the voyage, which takes about 2 solar days, warp currents depending

You have decided to take a number of diplomats and administrators to help build greater official ties, along with a retinue of 100 Honor guard, a full company mixed of all your forces, being captained by one of your best stormtrooper officers, their uniforms and weapons in perfect order and well polished...

Soooo...you think anyone will ask questions about where our personal guard got gear over 10,000 years old? I mean, I'm pretty sure our pack of resident prodnoses, curtain twitchers and vigilantes (the Inquisition), will wonder some.

For that matter, so will anyone with "Lord General" in front of their name. Especially if they like the idea of bolstering THEIR personal prestige with guards of that sort.

At least, change the insignia or something.

It's not as weird as you think, nobles spend shit tons of money on rare shit all the time. Hell, I remember reading up on a bible that payed through the nose just to get an Astartes bolter, which killed him the second he squeezed the trigger. Point is that a noble decking out his guard in rare armor and weaponry to make himself look good is standard practice and we won't get too much shit for it without good reason.
