Notable mutations-
Vampiric might-much stronger than a normal human.
Lords stature. Your body is massive, conferring bonuses to strength and durability
Bonescale hide-your skin is pebbled with knobs of bone greatly increasing your resistance to slashing weapons.

Minions-
1 Risen- intelligencex2
1 Revenant- speedx5
1 ghoul- Damagex2
1 Bonewarden- Durabilityx2 strengthx1
6 Zombies- Durabilityx1

Your Ghoul, Zombies and Risen are currently fighting 7 Majadin Merchants and guards. Their leader lies bleeding and gelded in the dirt with two of his men. Several of the Zombies sport slight wounds in their tough hides.

>Summarizing the last turns rolls.
>>
>1.
The Ghoul and Zombies charge into the cluster of armed and furious Majadin. Hatchets and cudgels spark against daggers and curved swords. The ghouls long, knifelike claws shred silk and slash flesh. The ferocity of the assault would break lesser men.

The Majadin however, are not lesser men. They hold firm, slashing back, opening great, gaping wounds in the Zombies flesh. One tumbles back, jaw working dumbly at the long dagger jutting from its eye. Even the ferocious ghoul screeches in furious pain as its pallid flesh is split under a heavy sword stroke

>19. Watch your back.

The Majadin are so engrossed in their defense from the front that they forget about the undead that just gelded their leader. You remind them of your presence.

Your spearhead punches through the back of a Majadin guard, the bloodied point emerging from his breastbone. With a twist and a wrench it is free, cutting through the air again to sink into the underside of a Merchants arm, blood spraying the ground from a severed vein. You turn, spinning the shaft and bringing the heavy butt across the side of a thirds head, the dense wood forcing the skull to yield.

The Zombies surge forward, heedless of their wounds. Their thick skin grips the blades and makes withdrawing them difficult as they smash heavy blows into their chests and sides. Bone splinters and flesh pulps under the powerful strikes. A pair of the Majadin are borne to the ground, blood pouring from their lips.

The Ghoul leaps over the crowd of Zombies pummeling the pair of Majadin into a thick paste and sinks its claws into the chest of one of the remaining guards. The wet bone points emerge from the mans back as the ghoul shifts its weight and turns the pounce into a roll, flinging the man skyward. The last guard turns to run but is confronted by

>19. Jabbity jab.

The heavy butt of your spear slams into his stomach like a battering ram, driving the air from his lungs. He staggers back, gasping as you turn. The honed edge of your spear cuts along the front of his shirt, slashing open his chest and belly in a long diagonal slash. He shouts in pain as blood gushes forth, dropping his sword and clutching at himself with both hands.

With a simple blur of movement your spear pierces deep into his chest, thrusting through his heart. With a wrench of your wrist the bloodied point emerges, thick red blood dripping slowly from the end.

>Take all the corpses and the loot + Sulamise (Alive or dead)

We did good, only lost a simple zombie. And for one that dies, three or four more will take his place.

And take Sulamise alive, I have a fun idea of torture for him

9/10 I mean.
>>
>Gained 9 Corpses
>1 Zombie corpse
>3 Carts of spices and silks
>Assorted Majadin Weapons and robes
>1 prisoner- Sulamise Qoorvos

After dragging the bodies and loot into the woods your group begins the process of loading the bodies onto the backs of the zombies and using the dull creatures to pull the carts laden with the Majadins goods and weapons.

Using the headwrapping from one of the men you bind Sulamise's ankles together and drag the barely conscious man behind you, making the arduous climb up to the lair of the Master.

Your group arrives just as the sun begins to set, Wick arriving just before you in a blur of movement, a tattered scrap of parchment in his hand showing rough charcoal outlines.

The Bonewarden emerges from the ground like some demonic mole, excitedly showing the maw of enchanted deer and elk bones that he had created in front of the entrance. Under a thin layer of dirt the bones would spring forth and drag the unlucky intruder into a jabbing pit of bony spikes.

As the shadows deepen the master emerges, hissing in pleasure at your success.

Just a figure of speech Cursed

>What do with corpses+ Sulamise

Eat the corpses, give the bones to our Bone Warden. And I propose the name Setgash for our boney friend.

As for Sulamise, interrogate him using this form of torture: drain him of blood for Thrane to drink up. But leave just enough that he'll remain conscious enough for us to interrogate. Leave him naked, and cold, hungry and thirsty
>>
>>1659389

Actually, leave one corpse. Over the interrogation, if he's possibly going to die. We cut off pieces of the corpse's flesh and feed it to him
>>
What's a zombie's power level compared to a decently trained human like one of those guards? I send like we came out just fine despite 2 or 3 Nat 1s. We only lost one zombie which is nothing. Or are zombies tiger than I think?
>>
>>1659414
Zombies are tough. Thick skin and bulky muscle. Theyre not extremely strong but they feel no pain and every blow is as hard as they can swing. Theyre dangerous compared to a normal human if they can get into melee.
>>
>>1659389
Support
>>
>>1659358
Raise one corpse to replace our casualty, have everyone consume the flesh of the rest in front of Sulamise (like we did with the last guy) and create another Bonewarden with different traits to the other. Then we interrogate Sulamise and find out about anything useful to us. Nearby major cities, trade routes, magic, anything goes.
>>1659389
Setgash sounds cool.
>>
>>1659420
Okay, thanks cursed. You run a good quest
>>
>>1659426
The BoneWarden is more of a Elite/Unique unit. Skeletons could be created but another BoneWarden would decrease its specialness.
>>
>>1659389
Who are we feeding the flesh to?
>>
>>1659476
Probably or prisoner to keep him alive.
What other skelly spooks can we make?
>>
>>1659476
Throwing in a counter. This guy was a skilled swordsman and we are at our limit for minions. We could use another revenant, or convert him and his soul into something...new. A metal and flesh nightmare made from his own body and all the blades of his fallen companions. Then we just keep adding blades to the pile.

If his soul is powerful perhaps we reward a minion for their good work. I'm looking at the risen.
>>
>>1659476

Our captive, when he's getting hungry
>>
>>1659494
You can make Skeletons which are a excellent minion unit. They aren't much for combat but can perform improvements on the lair itself.
>>
>>1659509
So your vote is to harvest the flesh and bones (giving the bones to the Bonewarden for a total of 3 upgrades) and then feed the flesh to Sulamise as he hungers in a state of blood deprived, feverish madness

>flense 9 bodies and give those healthy bones to the BoneWarden.
>You are Thrane, lord of blood, the soul drinker, the claws in the dark.

With a wave of your hand and the flexing of your dark will your minions scurry to do your bidding. Sulamise is dragged to the holding area and tied to the wall, pinned to the stakes with leather strips. A few drops of your blood seals his mangled wounds, ceasing the flow of blood. His lips part in pain as he is jostled but he doesn't awaken.

The fallen Majadin are stripped and butchered expertly. The chunks and strips of red raw meat and brown skin are piled in a cool corner. The bones are scraped and gnawed clean. They are handed to the Bonewarden who eagerly attached them haphazardly to its body. By the time the bones are depleted the BoneWarden resembles a round pile of bones instead of the skeletal warrior.

Tankiest of tanks it is.

>Durability +3

The Bonewarden clatters and shifts, collapsing to the ground as its body shifts and roils. Bone bends and morphs, flowing like thick milk as it is reshaped by the fell magic holding the Bonewarden together. Your other minions back away nervously as the ivory creature expands and changes.

The skeleton underneath shifts and expands, the bone thickening to truly monstrous proportions. The forearms and legs of the Bonewarden are encased in plates of bones as thick as shields, the limbs growing to the size of mans torso. Its head is encased fully in a thick, jagged shell of bone, a single great eye in the center filled with a burning ball of violet fire. Spikes and shards of shattered ribs and femurs jut from its back and shoulders, scraping furrows in the ceiling as it stands, clacking its huge jaw in approval of its new form. It lumbers about slowly, brushing aside a zombie with a careless swipe.

They are specialists, our lieutenants. There is clearly a gain in power in other areas, as the skeleton is much stronger than it was before despite the pure focus on defense, just not as strong as it would have been if we had gone down that road. Though a walking equivalent of a bulldozer does seem to have some charm. I propose increasing the skeleton's strength next.
>>
>>1659744

>>
>>1659746
Pretty much this. When you increase a minions skills in one category it will increase related skills marginally. Strength will increase damage and durability. Durability will increase strength. Speed will increase damage and intelligence. Intelligence increases damage and speed. The benefit is marginal but it does increase skills.

>Speed for Ghoul

Your ghoul shudders and twitches as its nerves and tendons are ravaged by the change. Bone lengthens and muscle bulges in its shoulders and thighs as it adopts a more quadripedal stance. Its feet become more bestial and clawed, stretching like the foot of some great wolf. It crouches and skitters along the wall like a monstrous insect, digging its claws into the soft stone.

>Risen gets durability.

Your Risen sinks to his knees, shaking and twitching slightly as his skin darkens, thickening like leather. The ragged remains of his hair fall out, leaving the dark Grey scalp bare as his muscles bulge under his ragged cloth armor. With slight pops and creaks his bones thicken, extending and broadening his limbs and fingers. He stands confidently, bulky and powerful in his new form.

>>
>Eat and let Wick show off the map

You wave over Wick and one of the zombies, bidding the creature to bring you piles of the raw flesh. You chew idly while inspecting the crudely drawn charcoal map.

"There's a graveyard about two miles outside town. Looks to have been built around the same time as the town. Lots of old graves, new graves and even a few family crypts. Im thinking some of those older crypts may even have tunnels built into them. I wasnt able to stay long because they have a few guards stationed there. Probably for Graverobbers. Saw some frilly fuck in a silver and Grey robe coming out of a crypt while I was there. Gold staff, a few attendants with him. He hurt to look at. But I think we could move our base there and be able to hit the town easily and have a safe place to retreat. What do you think?"

I'd like to suggest that much like your mage, everything we need to know can be gained by breaking him quickly and efficiently.

Furthermore, we have flesh crating now. I propose once we are done toying around, we rip soul, and then return soul. After that we have a perfectly good zombie carcass that we should probably fuse to his body....for scientific reasons. Or the ghoul, to see if we can upgrade it's durability in a more roundabout way.

No point in getting cool new toys if we dont use them, and trading a zombie for a revenant is a fair deal. Though if his soul is bright enough perhaps simply eating it to benefit us may be a wiser action.

Anyways, I for one want a cute human waifu who we visit at night in our attractive human form, and innocently convince her to come and become a vampire with us to pursue a life of blood and tyranny ~~~
We should go into town and look for potential cuties, having a bunch of thoughtless slaves can only get our boy off so much.

>>1661233
I mean, why are you so adamantly against a vampire wife, I'm looking at it from a different point of view then having a cute wife. We can endow her with magics to be our official spy master to go off during the day to do things, such as inject her into high social and political events to seduce then turn people into a submissive sheep with her powers of persuasion and rhetoric with a sprinkle of magic. Basically giving us a puppet master like control over lands and people. We could make more vampire people giving them tons of blood magic so we can fill a imperial court with our kind, effectively taking over any democratic country.
Plus, Haven't you heard of a honey pot? We can lure mobs of peasants to save the Damsel in Distress but really it's a ruse to get tons if corpses and souls.
>Any you know, her real form can be ghoulish and be more effectiv to killing then seducing since we won't need her for any of that for awhile.
>>
>>1661241
What is wrong with just having her as a minion?
>>
>>1661241
I'd rather keep it organic anon. Also consider our resident monster is not human, or having need of human values. If anything, we have Wick who with a few upgrades would be plently able to be a socialite.

One off dick stabbing, ok lol. good fun. Taking about it on the reg, it becomes annoying as fuck. Taking about needing to get pusspuss, this and that. No anons. no. If QM disagrees, cool, its his quest. However I will voice opinion. I dont want to break the theme of us collecting, exploring, and committing ultra violence.
>>
>>1661246
Alright, respectable, well put and well said. I'll concede we can continue on our dark decent into a scorn of the world.
>>
>>1661241

While agree in having a female minion for honey potting, I'm not going to go for having a waifu in this quest, it's just out of character for pur ultra-violent vampire
>>
>>1661264
I fully support this... It is completely out of character for our Vampier to have any sex drive let alone any drive for anything other than more blood(What is power but a means to an end, with that end being more blood to feast on?)
>>
>>1661264
>>1661268
Yes, I could agree to this, I like it.
>>
The point is, boys, are we really going to be the only vampire in our group? Probably not, and probably for not a whole while longer. Vampires are clearly too powerful to pass up.
My logic is, therefore, the first vampire we recruit may as well have some sort of significance and uniqueness, i.e, a vampire pussy.
>>
>>1661270
anon. the nice thing about ID's is you are only 4 posts in on this thread, that doesnt matter in terms of imaginary seniority, or other social cues; what is significant is all of your posts were shit, not shit posting, including the JB picture.

What is most bothersome is this is a collaberative quest, where we all work together to meet common goals, and have a good time. You seem to be hell bent on grabbing everyone by the hand and yanking them towards what is your fun time, be it from magical realm, muh lulz, or im just having fun guys; without concern or care as to what anyone else wants or feels.

>>
>>1661270

He's right, having a waifu sounds like a terrible idea, especially when its pretty obvious you are just injecting your own fantasies, rather than following the theme.
>>
>>1661273
That's completely irrelevant friendo, I've been here since the beginning. The last thread cut out abruptly, and this one is fresh - if you go to the third entry, my ID is 2dCf6JCh and I've posted more since the start - there wasn't much need to in this one since everything had come at once when OP came back, and it was just selecting upgrades.
That's all completely irrelevant though, and it sounds like you're asspained someone doesn't agree with you. If you look in the thread, I'm not the only one who thinks this has potential.
I'm not yanking anyone anywhere, friendo, it's at qm's discretion, and he seems to be taking things mostl democratically.

Kindly calm your tits and stop projecting your emotional nonsense because you're too scared of a little vampire lovin'
>>
>>1661276
>Erotic roleplay is not permitted.

Frequent explicit descriptions of sexual encounters by a quest author may result in mod intervention.

We have not even broached this specific topic in the story, there is nothing to indicate we have no reason for this, and I can't think it as being more 'out there' than the random organ/colon #2edgy4umonsters people come up with for the sake of it. Don't get me wrong man, I've nothing against it. We're all here to have fun, but the least you can do if you have such an aversion to this idea is present why in a way that's a bit better than an internet tantrum

The lower sentence extrapolates off the first. I'm not asking for sex scenes, cut your nonsense and if you'd like to actually have a big boy discussion I'm here for you bb

CursedQm, how big is the nearest settlement? How many people? How many men defending it?
>>
>>1660141
@CursedQM
>Grave yard is two miles outside of town
how far are we from the graveyard as it is now?
if within reasonable proximity, would we be able to have the skeleton tunnel to it over a period of time?
>>
So I would like to point out that the location that we are at is a good one in my opinion. No one is nearby to stumble on us by accident so, we can expand our "lair" and forces without really worrying about detection right now. We can also do the raiding alittle further away to help that. Plus we can always dig a tunnel into the sewer system or towards an opening near town if we want to be able to bring in corpses from the cemetery without any issues.
>>
>>1662451
Im actually a pretty big fan of this, though we will need to enhance our necromancy to get more skeletal workers....or...hmm

@CursedQM

What would it take for our Bonewarden to gain the ability to control it's own set of minions, specifically skeletal working crew?
>>
>>1662487
iirc he said that increasing its intelligence would end up on giving it necromancy capabilities eventually, i guess next upgrades should go into to to get ton of doots doing the home chores

>>
>>1665154
Souls and armor, if we got more magic, perhaps enchantments or runes. In general though it would seem skeletons are expected to be workers and fodder and any work you put into a skeleton would benefit a fleshed creature moreso.

If you want to see a truly unique beast, we have flesh crafting now. The ghoul seems like it is loosing what was left of its former life and mind anyway and is a good candidate. Otherwise wick has proven himself to be a formidable scout, sending him out to discover potentially worthwhile creatures could be a good cause.

Sulamise opens his eyes blearily, blinking in the low light as he takes in your pale face ahead of him. He regards your undead minions with a detached and fatalistic sneer.
"What do you want? Mockery of life, I am Sulamise Qoorvos. I am not about to cut words with one such as you."
He spits, his voice ragged and sweat beading on his brow from the exertion.

"Oh my friend... You will tell me all that you know and more. You will tell me where you are from, where you were going and where I may find more of your people. Your body may resist me at first but your tongue will eventually betray you"
You hiss, a light caress down the ashen Majadins cheek turning into a painfully strong grip on his chin.

"My... Tongue will eventually betray me then... It is as you say... Any man will fall before tortures with time.... As the Almighty says- if thine eye offend thee, cut it out. If thy tongue speak of dishonor, cut it OUT!"
He rants with startling zeal, acting before you can even intervene his teeth come down on his tongue, a moment of shock before the lump of tissue falls to the floor and he gurgles with triumphant, zealous victory.

>7. A mysterious power is watching you.

You snarl in rage at the Majadins insolence and resistance. This worm refuses to obey in life? He can obey in death!

Your eyes glow a deep, miasmic violet as you begin ripping away the gurgling merchants soul. The energy seems to be... Resisting you? Being pulled away in another direction!

You double your efforts, attempting to wrest the mans soul back from whatever blasphemous spirit has hold on it but with a contemptuous flick of its power you are blinded momentarily, knocked back with a deep, sonorous voice in your mind

"Unclean filth... Leave the devout of Assurhai be."

With another blinding flash in your minds eye the presence recedes, leaving you gasping for air, flat against the far wall. Sulamise sags against his restraints, blood dripping slowly from his lips, the dark liquid trickling down his chin and smearing a strange, angular symbol attached to a medallion. Just looking at it hurts your eyes...

>14. It's alive.... it's ALIVE... IT'S ALIIIIIVE!!!
You set to work, tearing the Majadin's corpse to dripping shreds and carefully - like an artisan developing a magnum opus - arranging the pieces to match your twisted vision. Your thralls bring you stinking armfuls of dead matter as you request it, oils on a canvas of death. With extreme caution, you remove the necklace and place it in a corner to investigate later.

After a good hour of toil, it is done.

You bite on your wrist, feeling the cool blood spill onto your lips, before squeezing it onto the lifeless amalgam before you. Dessicated flesh begins to spasm uncontrollably and SOMETHING makes your minions step back... could it be fear?

With a guttural groan, the abominable THING lurches to life. Membranous batlike wings as big as horses unfold, gripping the dirt and hauling a writing mass of purplish-red tendons, intestines and tentacle-like structures of muscle off the ground. One tentacle bearing a bloodshot eye emerges from the mass, seemingly awaiting orders.

While your latest pet heaves its bulk into the air and the majority of your minions go romping off to the graveyard, Wick vanishes in a rush of air and a blur of movement. Guess you're meeting him there.

Leaping through the trees at an astonishing rate, slamming footholds into the bark with your claws, you soon find him hiding next to a mud-slick, less-travelled country path.

You smell beer.

A half-mile up the path you can see a band of cut-throat warriors bearing stout, worn weapons walking on horseback up the road. Men they are, but the sheer might they clearly possess and the rugged chain armour that adorns them makes them appear like giants.

Carefully taking roost in the branches with the Revenant and the Ghoul, you closely examine the warriors as they approach. Each one of them bears an intricate pattern of weaving tattoos comprised of various dots and dashes... most likely a tally of kills. Leading the group is a mountain of a man peppered with scars, with curling horns on his helmet, a thick beard and a necklace of teeth of many shapes and sizes. You decide to attack him while the Revenant and the Ghoul go for the rest.
>7. So much for greater undead...
Gripping the underside of the bough like a coil waiting to spring, you await the perfect moment. None of them have looked up yet. NOW. You pounce towards the leader in a flurry of claws and teeth...

... and are caught in his burly arms.

"Haha! You think we did not see tracks, grave-spawn?" Thrashing and struggling only serves to toss you both off a now panicking horse. "Feisty one - strong like bear, strong like brother Kromvig!"

>6. I'll say this much, you lead by example.

Going off your lead, Wick and the Ghoul appear out of almost nowhere. Unfortunately their attempts are almost as impotent. The Ghoul, shrieking its rage from behind the group, succeeds only in earning itself a hefty hoof in the face. Wick has more success, however - in a flurry of blades he manages to open long crimson wounds in two of the barbarians before deftly backstepping to avoid a bone-crushing warhammer.

>19. Bad touch! Bad touch! Stranger danger!

The berserker laughs to himself as he envelops you in a tight bear hug, and you can't help but wonder what they're feeding him in Kerdielheim. Built like a house and with the technique to use it well. It's like he's been wrestling mammoths.

Bet he's never seen a mammoth do this.

With an ease that seems almost casual, you twist and warp into the same bearded form you are familiar with - only nude and the size of a breadbox. It takes the brute a moment to realise he's gripping air, and by then you're free.

He chuckles, picking up a wicked double-headed axe and brandishing it ferociously. "Clever trick, little dead man. Shameful, but clever. What else will you pull out of your-"

>17. Yummy soul!

You launch yourself at the man's neck and attempt to tear his soul from his body. He yells in pain and teeters as he feels icy fingers tug on his very being, but he stands tall and swats you away.

Odd... that would've killed a normal man.

>3.

Wisp flashes over to the Ghoul and whispers an instruction - in obedience it screeches at the top of its lungs at the riders, prompting one of them to charge and skewer its belly with a spear. The tip emerges through the back and lodges into the dirt, pinning the undead in place.

>19. Gotta go fast!

The distraction is enough, however for the raiders to let down their guard long enough for the revenant to slip through the cracks in their defence. In a flash of grey steel he deftly removes the top of one rider's skull before severing another's horse's leg at the knee, causing it to topple forwards and crush its rider.

Yes very much so, I would dare say CursedQM was one of the better quest masters. Think about gore and ultraviolet all with the great story about our vampire lord Thrane with his followers have been sowing chaos and disarray within the wilderness near a town.
Currently we have >>1670847 all created from our killed enemies, right now we have a drug connection in our town, in the process of making a grave lord from our Bone warden and debating about moving to the Grave yard, where the other half of our minions are harvesting bones and bodies.
>So essently we run a small band of undead who's trying to make a mad grab for power, using our powers and such.
>>Also a big thing, girls, sex, lewd and non-spooky tastic things that work into our story are a big no-no. But ball stabbing along with skeleton dancing is not out of the question.

>20. KAAAAAAMEEEEEEEHAAAAAAMEEEEEE

Reverting back to your normal form you gracefully evade several swipes from the brute's axe, responding with a volley of violet/crimson balls of energy that force him to take a knee. After a particularly nasty blow to the head he bellows "ENOUGH! Fight with honour, corpse-worm," his eyes begin to glow dull blue "before I use a trick of my own."

>6.

Meanwhile Wick boots the half-skull towards a rider, making it shatter and dent the helmet and dismounting the marauder. However, in his attempt to dislodge the spear from his brother-in-arms one raider emerges leaping over a bush, and his reflexes cannot save his leg from being clipped by a mace.

>8. If you go down to the woods today...

With a flurry of motions you launch three more bolts at the warrior. The first he bats away with his axe, the second glances harmlessly off his helmet

and the third he tanks straight in his chest.

The glow in his eyes has reached an icy, piercing turquoise - and he's glaring right at you. A dull thud as he throws his axe aside. A clatter as his helmet is cast aside. With a sharp rip of leather he tears away his armour to reveal a mesh of intricate, tribalistic tattoos - all glowing blue.

"Now you see why the world fears the Bear-Brothers of Kardielheim."

With a resounding snarl he belches a thick grey smog that conceals everything within 2 metres of him, and you can't help but feel that something's... wrong.

>1.

Obviously the horses pick up on this too, as they all panic and bolt as one mass of whinnying screams and thundering hooves. The riders' best efforts can't control them even as they trample Wick and the straggler.

That's not what you're focused on, though. You're focused on the icy blue eyes staring at you from what is now a column of smoke. You're focused on how they're going up.

Suddenly and without warning, the fog dissipates to reveal a bear of monumental proportions, easily the size of a house. Its paws are the size of tables, its fur is the colour of dead wood and thick ropes of drool hang from a cavernous maw.

>5. Let's see how you like it

The shock of seeing death itself barrelling towards oneself hell for leather combined with the trembling ground and ear-splitting bellows of the beast can make even the mighty freeze in terror.

The bear scoops you up in titanic jaws alongside the earth you're stood on, and nothing you can remember compares to the agony and humiliation of being chewed and shaken like a dog's toy. Were it not for your gnarled hide and dense skeleton you'd be dead already - as it is your arm is broken, ribs shattered and skin torn to shreds.

Cast aside by the monster, you will yourself to stand. Towering over you, the bear grins with teeth splashed black with blood. "IF YOU WILL NOT FIGHT LIKE MAN, YOU WILL DIE LIKE DOG." By now the ghoul has bled out, but Wick still stands - faithful to the end.

>Ghoul has died

>9. See you in hell, Wick.

The bear's piercing glare is cut off momentarily by Wick's spindly form. "Boss! Run for it - I'll cover you!"

"Wwwwiiicckk... yyyyyooouuuu ccannnoootttt-"

"Boss, you have broken my mind, made me kill my buddies, stole my soul, killed me, brought me back to life, put my soul back and forced me to obey your every command," he interrupts with a grin. "What could he possibly do that you haven't done already?"

Can't argue with that.

Forcing yourself to run despite being fairly sure you also fractured a shin, you leave your only friend to trade his life for yours in mortal combat. In your escape you can hear the monster's bellows of rage and, finally, of victory.

>19.

You find your way to the gates of Sverelfan without event, taking momentary shelter in the hidden tunnel used by the thugs of the Black Cat and pondering your next action.

For now you face a far more certain danger than a massive bear: dawn is approaching, and you are wounded and vulnerable to discovery.

>And on that note I will resign control to sensei. That berserker just fucked up your whole day, didn't it? I think we have a new BBEG. It has been a pleasure to QM this masterpiece of a quest, and I thank everyone who reads this for their tolerance.

>Peace!

Wow. I'm really sorry to hear about all that trauma. I actually have a phobia of losing my vision, and I'd hate to go what you're going through. I hope nothing else comes of it, and I'm glad you're still with us.

Thank you so much for the kind words, bro. I was actually really frightened about introducing anything new because it's your fluff that you probably spent ages writing, and I didn't want to mess with it. I bet you can guess I was inspired by Amon Amarth!

>>
>>1678258
Making ghouls is easy, now Wick is a top tier unit, we ain't losing him tho
>>
>>1678310
Wick's dead. He died so you could get away. That's what I meant by "bellows of rage and, finally, of victory." The mood changed when the berserker killed him. And you can always make another Wick, but if you die then that's it.

Besides, now we have someone to boo whenever he comes on stage. If Cursed gives him a name, we have a proper villain (from our perspective).
>>
>>1678258
There was a 10 for the graveyard raid, and I'll let Cursed decide whether that's a victory or not.
>>
Since Cursed's going to take a while, anyone want to play Wick's last stand or shall we leave it as it is?
>>
>>1678660
What do we need to roll? Any chance for him to make it out alive is good
>>
>>1678667
Let me explain what's going on in his head. First off: his life is irrevocably second to that of his master. In any given situation, Thrane's life is infinitely more valuable than his own, and that life is in danger. Given this, he has decided to hold off the berserker as long as he possibly can so his master can escape. Thing is, Thrane is gravely wounded and can't run as quickly as he normally would. Every second Wick has the beast's attention is one second it's not chasing Thrane. Ergo, he's not going to try to escape - he's going to fight with everything he's got. He is dead. Kaput. What I'm suggesting is RPing his last moments. That, or keep focusing on Thrane.
>>
>>1678727
Lets play wicks last stand

The bear thunders towards you, maw agape and blue eyes glazed over in rage. With every footfall the ground quakes, and maintaining your footing is a toil.

Hold your ground.

Its jaws still bear the master's blood. You never imagined you would ever see him in actual danger. You suppose you'll never have to again.

Show no fear.

Your only regret is that you can only save him once.

Wait for it...

The bear leaps towards you teeth first, its hulking form airborne for only a moment. For a fraction of a second you can smell its nauseating breath.

Now.

You close your eyes and lunge.

>15 + 2 = 17, 6 + 2 = 8

Upon landing with a mighty crash, the shapeshifter howls in pain as you ram your spear deep into his eye. Burgundy blood gushes from the wound, spattering you and the ground around you. Snarling its dismay it fervently thrashes and paws at the wound, desperate to dislodge the spear.

>Berserker is no longer reckless, and is now lightly wounded

Fuck that. While throne knows what he heard, we can party as long as the dice let us. Any way to shove that spear into his brain?

To do that you'd have to force that spear through a good few inches of solid bone. Thrane could do it, but since you have no strength upgrades it's not really an option.

... well, maybe not a FEW inches, but it's still thick enough that a speed-focused revenant wouldn't have the strength necessary to ram it in.

With a tug, you yank the spear out of the orbital bone and land gracefully on your feet. Dodging deftly under the brute's chin, you focus on the other icy blue eye. What did the dark-skinned guy say? "If thine eye offend thee, cut it out"? Well, you're feeling pretty damn-

A stray paw backhands you square in the chest, and you feel your ribs puncture your lungs. You're dimly aware of flying through the air.

Bouncing off the ground throws out your shoulder. A tree trunk slams into your back and you black out.

Everything's fuzzy.

Inwardly you are just as injured, reflecting on your own recklessness that saw 2 of your most capable minions slain. Had it not been for Wicks fearless loyalty you yourself would have died to some stinking savage shapeshifter from that northern hellhole.

Snatching a bloated, weakly struggling rat you gulp it down whole, its puny life force will serve to fuel a meager healing.

Hissing in agony you force your body to shift, bones jerking back through the skin and crudely bonding together. Shakily, you stand and peer down the tunnel. You can no longer feel Wicks presence but you know that your living servant remains in Sverelfan. Perhaps he can assist you?
