Zeldren, the ghost of an ancient warrior, has been captured and bound by the will of the Dark Goddess of Goblins.

A new soul stands though, above all the others in the neverending cycle of birth and death for monster kind. But what form shall they take?

>Wisp: the most basic form of undead, formed from those who have forgotten their past

>Goblin: short tribalistic creatures who are a common threat to villages

>Kobold: creatures descended from dragons, the resemblance is only passing

>Fairy: A race of magical beings that lived in a realm parallel to the mundane, they have since fallen into decline with the curse of the king and the shattering of their unity

>Dron: an insectoid race, a relatively new breed of monster that has arisen. Weather by the will of a new god, or from perhaps the taint from the dark lord, no body knows

>Slimes: the weakest members of the Outsiders, those who have only enough power not to die immediately upon touching reality.

>Imp: The weakest demon and lowest of the hierarchy. Commonly used as fodder or food by their much more powerful siblings, but still hold the distinction of being children of a god.

You are a Imp, the lowest child of the Demon Father Abyss. Long ago, your father and siblings lead an invasion onto the mortal world, seeking to burn down the creation that shunned him.

However, he was pushed back into the hell he created, and locked away with his children.

However, the seal is not perfect, and small demons like you have managed to slip through the cracks and invade the mortal world. Some plan to destroy the seal to renew the invasion.

Some seek to start their own kingdom, free of the ancient and godlike elder siblings that help their father.

Other just seek to enjoy the new world, free of the chains of the hierarchy.

But that comes later

You hover above a small summoning circle. It was all pretty standard, even lowly Imps knew how a summoning circle should look.

A rather simple summoning sigil, weak and basic enough only to summon the likes of you. Which is good cause anything stronger would have destroyed the wards that had been placed. Really, one goat head? Half a human heart? It's like the summoner wanted their wards to break.

You contemplate the destruction that might have come about if something stronger had been summoned, and can't help but smile.

"U-uh, hello?"

You don't look at the voice immediatly, instead looking at the room you were currently hovering in. It was a basement, likely lying under a manor judging from the stone walls and polished floor.

It was a bored noble, not as common as a cultist, but they were up there with those who thought summoning a demon was a good idea.

"H-Hey! Your master is talking to you!" The voice said out loud, making your ears twitch as you stare down at your summoner.

Standing below you was an Elven girl, looking to be in her later teens. She was standing confidently, trying to back up her claim at being your master.

You sigh, making note of the lack of proper seals. They were misshapen and for an entirely different kind of demon. They held no power over you, and this elf had nothing to bend your will.

>What do you do?

Unanimous

You consider your options, weighing their pros and cons. You could put her in her place, she wasn't likely powerful and you held the advantage. However, that would just foster hate, and she would likely seek retribution.

You could kill her, feed on her flesh and leave her to rot in this room. You could gain power from it, but then what? You'de be stuck down here, unable to leave without calling attention to yourself

Putting on a practiced smile, you bow at your hip, like you've always done in the presence of your more powerful siblings.

With refinement and skill, you bow and dip your head in polite submission. "Apologies my mistress. I was just admiring the mortal world, it's an interesting change of pace from the abyss." You say, standing straight as you lowered yourself so she wouldn't have to look up to you, another subtle play to make her think she was in control.

She seemed relieved for a second, then stood tall and confident "well I didn't bring you here to sight see worm. I have need of you," she says, a confident smile on her face as she felt the control you had given her.

"How may I serve you Mistress?"

"My mother, she is a wretched boar of a woman. I want you to get rid of her so I can finally inherit the family." She said, a cruel smile on her face.

You raise your brow, then smirked. She didn't play around.

The girl rolled her eyes and sighed at the question, then looked away "My 'position' is barely anything. Daughter of an antiquarian, sister to an adventurer, inheritor of a stupid book." She gently pat on a book on her hip, sighing a bit.

"My sister gets to have all the inheritance, and I get the scraps while she goes off to be an adventurer and leaves me to handle her stuff."

She lets out agrowl of disgust and crosses her arms "And that horrid toad of a woman who calls herself my mother had the audacity to say I should be greatful. So stuck up, yet can't do any magic like her daughters."

You stare at the girl, taking in all the information and nodding, before flinching when she speaks rather forcefully.

"That's enough of that thought you have your mission, and I gave you your information. I expect her dead within the week. If I have to hear her mind fracturing chortle again i just might throw myself from the city walls."

With that, she turned and began to walk awa, Fuming a bit.

You decide it'd be best to chase down some rats. The mortal world was still new, and while you were at full power despite what you told your 'Mistress' that wasn't saying much.

The basement you're in was rathe rlarge, at least contain ing several rooms for storage and a large center chamber for storing wine and furniture. The stone was old and musty, but still held strong despite the age.

One of the room contained a sewer grate, likely a direct connection to the sewage system of the city. Another room held a bolted shut door, with numerous locks as well as a magical sigil on its surface.

The elf seems to have gone up a stair case most liking returning to the manor's ground floor. As dominant as she tried to appear, she has left you to your own devices.

With a small bit of effort you close your eyes and extend your mind. WHile Most Imps made due with only flying and their fire spark, you were blessed by your father with an additional power. You could speak to the vermin of the world, and had the power to command them, if you could surpass their will.

Your father must have planned something great for your future, if he had given you something to stand out from the sea of Imps that were born and died every day.

Soon, rats began to reveal themselves. There was maybe twenty of the, the low number suggesting the manor had some defenses against their ilk. Still they came out and looked at your curiously, simple thoughts in their minds.

"Food?"

"Creature?"

"Smell."

eating souls? The thought would appeal, if you could. The dream demons, your oldest siblings, could do that. However their mother was She who sleeps, so that was likely why. You even remember one of your sisters regaling others with stories of feasting on the soul of some prince before she was banished.

You were an imp sadly, so the physical nourishment was the only way to consume. Thoguh, now that you thought on it, could you say you ate a creatures soul if you eat them whole?

You shrugg at the though, and begin grabbing hold of the rats one by one, biting off their heads. By the time the compulsion is broken, you have already slaughtered 15 of them. The last five scamper off.

You are now full on rats, your first material meal. It was so much different from the food of the Abyss, though that may be because it was mostly Imp flesh with the occasional hell beast.

[+2 Bronze Counter]

You stretch and sigh, looking around. You had a full stomach, and a bit of a liking for the more aggressive action. Though you still found it fun to manipulate that Elven tart.

You fly over to the locked door and examine it. It's made completely of iron, along with the frame as well. It was buoilt into a stone wall, and almost seemed older then the stone from the rust and dirt on it. However, the locks seemed to have been recently replaced, and the Sigil on the door was obviously magic, though you may be at a loss for what it is since you only have a confident knowledge of daemon summoning.

The keyhole was rather large, larger then a normal key should be. Meaning it likely requires a special key to open.

The locks popped and the door began to open "Chasing vermin into papa's study, just how I wanted to spend what was left of my night." She said, walking in with a huff, the door Closing behind her.

Light began to glow from within, shining through the the keyhole. You gaze over the texts and scrolls, and with your knowledge, are able to quickly figure something out.

The elf's father was a daemonoligist, and a rather serious one. Daemon physiological notes, summoning diagram designs, and exhaustive interviews with demons.

So the way the system works could be that raising each counter high enough earns you certain abilities of a specific discipline. Not sure, but either way it seems like gold is pretty much set, so guess we'll find out how imps work soon.

The information adds to what you knew, which was surprisingly little. You knew the basics of how a circle should look, but there was plenty you had no idea about.

A summoning circle, especially yours, was effectivly perverting the clerical arts. Where cleric would use hymns to commune and beseech the gods to bend reality, a circle skipped the middle man and. Demanded this change from reality itself, requiring no permission or allowing any being to notice it before it's to late.

The summoning circle that was used for you was perfectly usable, except it was missing a few ingredients.

>The dust of a fairy

>A goblins tooth

>A shard of Dron carapace

All relatively easy items to find, if one were an adventurer. However, you had no idea where you could find these things. The Dron carapace was easy, but fae were slaughtered on sight by the great races, and goblins avoided major cities due to cultural reasons and the fear of attack by the great races.

"Just what in the name of Arourial are you doing in here?!" The Elven girl screamed, the name she mentioned burning your ears. It was the elvish name for the goddess of light and healing, your grandmother.

"Well, while I appreciate the attempt, I don't think you should be in here..." She said, looking around for supposed rats.

"If I might ask, why is that miistress? I am bound to your will, so I am of no threat to you or those you wish to protect, and I am but a mere Imp, so I inherently have no ambition." You say, watching the girl consider what you have to say.

"Hmm, You do have a point I suppose...and father didn't spend his life gathering this knowledge just to have rats chew it apart..."

You nod, lowering yourself to make her feel in charge "of course mistress, this resevoir of knowledge derserves the best of care. I mean, it is meant to be yours no?" You say, the elf smiling as she carressed her bok.

Nodding, the elf spoke "Yes, quite right Imp. Alright, feel free to continue your search, I think I'll go ahead and partake in my father's studies. Maybe something in here will help me empower you to a less pitiable state." She said, turning and waking over to a desk filled with tomes of varying shapes.

>Interview with Sheleria, a demon of desire (Gain 3 Silver counters. An interview discussing the heirarchy of the abyss, and how demon kind changes based on their deeds)

You were a mere imp within the abyss, so the politics of your betters were above your perception. Surviving, serving, and trying to avoid being the dinner of your elder siblings was your way of life.

However while you and your fellow imps suffered that fate, your eldest and most powerful siblings fought their own war for survival.

Seperated into three tiers; Gold, Silver, and Bronze, they fought for control and power all under the amused eyes of your great father, the Demon God Abyss.

Gold tier is the highest, holding the generals and leaders of the demon family within. Filled with the prideful and greedy, the demons use great armies to combat one another for dominance within the realms of the abyss. They rule through knowledge, and conquer through the power of many.

Silver tier demons are those who have yet to fully ascend beyond their whims and desires to become demons of gold. Silver demons rule their small territories with whispered delights and delectable promises. Weaving spells and words, they rule word and conquer through deception.

Demons of the Bronze tier, while the lowest in the hierarchy, hold the greatest physical power. Fueled by rage and hunger, they roam the abyss seeking to tear down and destroy, to rend and slaughter all they can find, eating any demon they can kill. They rule nothing, leaving devastation in their wake, and dream of only a never ending clime in their power.

While the tiers may be determined by culture, the tiers are effectively equally viable paths of power. It all depends on the demons deeds and desires in the end, for a demon of gold will bow to a demon of bronze if the situation is right.

(increase INT by one)

The elf girl sighed and stretches "I'll continue in the morning. Come in Imp, I'm not leaving you here to damage fathers work." She said, gesturing you to follow, which you do, thinking on the knowledge you had gained and what you could use it for.

Once you had mexited the room, and she had locked the door, your mistress looked you over "So, I can't leave you down here, a servant's eventually going to find you. While the allure of sharing a room with e young elven maiden would entice any Imp, but you weren't like them. You desired something else, the sewers just might hold what you needed.

"I think the sewers would be best, I can try and gather my strength and also avoid investigation. Also, I doubt you want me in your room for an extended amount of time." You say, making he rnod and then turn.

"Then go ahead, I'm going to sleep. I'll see you in the morning"

After weighing the options, you decie the sewers were best. You would be close to the manor and easy to hide, while also having a bit more freedom to explore and gain power when your Mistress left you to live out her day.

"Well whatever, just make sure you clean yourself before i see you next. I'm not spending my day smelling sewage off of you." She said, waving her hand and walking off.

You look to the sewer grate on the ground, and hear running water and distant muffled noises occasionally over it. With a shrugg, you lift up the grate and fly down, entering the musty tunnel.

"Best save time, I don't have all night." you say, reaching out with your mind to contact any nearby vermin to search for you.

The Drons can wait, investigating what could be weakened humans is to tantalizing an option to pass up. lifting off with your wings, you fly down the tunnel, following the rats as they lead you to their discovery. It took another hour, but eventually you came across a trio of tents with standing torches placed on the perimeter of their camp.

You couldn't see anyone, but you could hear small snores within the tents. The tents were smaller than you expected, the size of a childs tents if anything. You noticed an odd scent in the air, smelling of pine and dew over the putrid stench of the sewer.

Backpacks and supplies for a long journey were strewn about the camp, but judging from how open everything was, this may have been their destination the whole time.

Partial success

You flutter over and peak into one of the tents, your eyes adjusting to the darker inside of the structure. You see a pair of velvety wings and a frail form underneath a blanket, clutching to it a backpack of some form.

The figure begins to stir and you fly back, hiding in the darkness just as their fariy flies out and begins to search for what had been playing wtth the flap of its tents.

It lets out a string of words, words that tickle your ears and making you want to get closer, until you snap out of it and see magic begin to escape the creatures mouth.

Words of power, magic only the fae could wield. It was trying to cast a spell...

Your magic doesn't falter though, forming a fire ball the size of your torso, and then explodeding near the tents, igniting them thanks to their dirty nature as well as the methane that polluted the air.

You float in the abyss once more, the darkest part of the abyss, where only the most power demons ever to exist live.

Floating around you are three bags, one containing Bronze coins, the second silver, and the third gold. They carry the weight of your sins with them.

Floating before you, with an endless stream of coins of all varieties flowing like a water fall behind him into the darkness of the void, was your eldest and most powerful sibling.

Mammon, Arch-Daemon of Greed, was the first demon created after your father invaded the mortal world. Through him, entire nations fell to corruption and greed. Mothers sold their children to bath in gold, and children slaughtered their parents to steal from their corpses. King waged wars even as their kingdom crumbled in order to obtain impossible treasures, and princes beheaded their fathers in order to inherit entire realms.

In the end Mammon would be the only winner, stealing the wealth, the treasures, and the realms in his schemes and dealings with all foolish enough to let greed consume them.

Now he hovered before you, staring at you without words as he reached back into the waterfall of treasure, grabbed hold a massive hoard, and then dumped it infront of him. The treasure collected into a floating pile, and he would sort the treasure.

He stares at you, sorting as he does, and stretches out one of his many hands to you, palm facing upwards. He gestured for you to give him something, no words exchanged, only a powerful stare.

You place you bag of silve rin the Daemon's hand, and as he begins to pull away, you drop anothe rbag, then the last one. The daemon stares at you, stares at you for what seemed like an eternity. Then a rumble begins to grow. Even in a void, you feel the world shake, the rumble growing to a roar as Mammon's mouths opened. He began to laugh.

Loudly, cruelly, wickedly, he laughed, pulling your coins away and clenching his hand around them, molten metal seeping from his hands as he continued to laugh and reality itself began to shake.

Then he stopped, leaning forward so his face was mere inches from your body, and stared at your with his eyeless face. He held his moltan metal seeping hand above you, and began to drip it over your body, the pain feeling beyond anything you could imagine.

"You shouldn't be so frivolous with your treasure little Imp. It's a quick way to lose everything dear you..." You body was covered in moltan metal, your eyes still able to see Mammon despite feeling them burn in your eye sockets.

"But I appreciate the donation...I bet you're detined for something very interesting...but gambling is a fools game." He said, leaning back and returning to his counting as the metal began to cool around your form. "So I won't bet. Instead, I'll command you. Do something with your pitiful existance. I'd rather not waste trasure and time on a failure." he said, before disapearing in a snap.

Soon, the Sound began to fade

Soon, the darkness began to recede.

And soon, you opened your eyes...

The fairy sat across from you, staring at you in confusion and fear. They seemed smaller than normal.

You stood and immediatly felt light head, somehow ascending higher than you should have. You check your golden wings and find they are currently at rest, then look ahead to try and figure something out...

Then you realize your wings were gold.

(You have received a divine blessing from Mammon. The details of its affects are unknown, but Mammon has taken personal interest in you, so who know what may occur....

[Gain ability: Carress of Mammon: By performing an opposed will save, you can attempt to begin turning a victim to gold. The process is reversable unless fully completed.]

You stand at about 3 feet now, having ground an extra 12 inches over night. You now towered over the fairy, who seemed to frightened to try anything.

[Leveled up!]

I'm pretty sure that would require breaking hips and gouging out organs, and then it wouldn't even be rape, it'd be necrophilia with a dead body cock sleeve. Then we lose the ingredients we could have gotten from keeping the fairy alive, all because we were so beta we were willing to stick our dick in what is essentially a magical humanoid bug. Then what are we? A fucking loser with a dead fairy hanging off our little demon penis.

If I saw a demon rape a fairy to death then wear her on his dick then I certainly wouldn't think that he's a beta loser, rather the opposite

Yeah I'm all for jokes, but this is getting kind of stupid. Let's just get back to talking about possible long term actions. Like for example, you guys want to check up on the group we just burned to death and see if they're any survivors? might get some more counters or ingredients out of it. Also, how is nobody gushing about finally finding out how the counter system works? That shit was great, I can't wait to see how more of it in action, and I'd love to pick up the claw mutation later.

>>
Anyway we can use golden rats to buy spellbooks and such, yes ?
>>
>>1640706
that, hmm, that's actually a good idea. we can take a few rats and give them a bit of a midas touch. Crush it into a ball of gold and give it to our "master" to help fund our ascension. She seems like the kind to give in pretty easily to greed and we're a demon, it's what we do.
>>
>>1640712
As much as I loathe the waifufags, as you can see by my previous posts - with our recent midas touch ability, you make a very good point.
I think we should fool our little elf "master" into becoming our servant by tricking her with a contract in demonic or something - she's clearly not too bright or good at magic.
>>

pretty much this, fuck waifu faggotry, but let's not waste good resources because of it, when she stops being useful we can just kill her or enslave her and use her assets as a cover.

>>
>>1640760
You can't rape statues anon...
>>
>>1640760
We need to make it look like an accident, I think. Or at least make it seem like a normal murder. Like we take a dagger and stab her in her sleep while the daughter is out of the house and with witnesses to vouch for her when she's questioned. Steal some jewelery and shit, stick something in her for a bit to make it look like a lunatic that raped her, which will make them less likely to wonder why the killer didn't steal more. and done, in the home clear. People will just think it's some psychopathic serial killer and after a few weeks of laying low while we slowly corrupt and bend the daughter to our will to use her resources for our own, we 'll be in the clear. Personally, I'd rather we do the clean "accident", but we'll see what we do when we get to it.

Flapping your wings experimently, you realize that despite your increased muscle and size, they seemed to lift you up with just as little effort.

With a smile you rose up, and then stared at the fae, who was shaking "P=please, le tme go...I haven't done anything to deserve this...I-I just wanted to avoid the wars..." they say, moving against the ropes a little.

The fairy let out a whimper, then swallowed a lump that had formed in its throat "W-what do you need to know?"

"What city are we in?" You say bluntly, the fairie's eyes widening in surprise.

"Uh, we're in the capital city of Arourial..." She said, watching you nod in understanding. "How did you not know that?" She asked, genuinely curious.

"I don't really get a map handed to me when I'm summoned. Now next question, what war are you talking about?" You say, shaking her a bit and listening t her squeek in surprise, some golden power falling to the ground from her wings.

"Please don't shake me! The war of the eight houses, in the fae lands. Since King Vlane was cursed, the fae have been at civil war to try and rule. They burn down whole villages and lands...we left hoping to live a better life in the mortal world.."

You remember hearing the name Vlane, spoken by many of the higher ranked demons of Desire and greed. Apparently he was a fae king.

Noticing the dust fall from the wings, yu smile and look them in the eye "How can I get your fairy dust?"

The fairie's eyes widened, and she looked away "Please, anything but that...I-I'll teach you my magic! j-just don't take my fairy dust..."

what if we had it teach us magic, and then snip the tendons in it's arms and legs with our claws. so then we can keep it like and farm fairy dust off of it as long as it stays alive? >>
>>1641417

>>1641427
brilliantly evil, but what do we need a fairy dust farm for? and since she is so reluctant to give us fairy dust, I doubt the dust "grows back" ?
>>
>>1641436
maybe, maybe not, but we can't be sure if we don't try it right? Besides, What do we have to lose if it can't make any more? We'll just turn it into gold. then it's useful. If we can farm dust off of it, then we have a source for a valuable ingredient, which may be useful for later. Especially if we want to summon our own minions later, or learn more powerful demonic spells/rituals.

That's not a bad idea, but we don't really know any contracts or rituals to bind her to our will. That's more long term, save that for later. For now, just vote on we should do at the moment because this thread is a mess and it'd be easier on burden.

[You have Gained 10 Gold counters]

With a vicious grin, you drop the fairy then place your foot firmly on their chest "I don't have much time to argue, so I think I'll decide what to do with you later." You say, before placing a hand over her mouth, then extending a claw. The Fae's eyes widened with fear, and she tried to struggle against you, but your weight and the ropes bound her.

With surgical priscision, you gently guide you claw over the flesh of the fairy, making the fairy shudder and stare at you confused and afraid. Eventually, you find what your looking for.

Making sure your seal over the fairy's mouth was firm, you stared her in the eyes and smiled "Stay still, I'd hate to make a mistake..." You say with a viscious grin, before stabbing your claw into the soft flesh of the fairy.

A loud scream came from the fairy, but it was muffled almost entirely by your firm hand, the creatures legs thrashing as you push further and further into the flesh, pushing aside muscle and sinew until you feel what you were looking for. A soon as you touch it, the fairy screams even louder, almost being noticeable despite being muffled.

With a swift movement, you stab a second finger into the wound and use your claws to cut the tendon, feeling the fae's arm go limp as the two halves shot away as the tension wa sreleased. The fae's eyes widened in utter agony, silence only escaping the creature as pain filled its mind.

Pulling out you blood covered talons, you let out a sigh "Well then, that wasn't so bad now was it?" You say, looking down at the tear filled eyes of the shuddering fae. "Good news, only three more to go..." You say, starting the process up again, and ignoring the fairy's screams and muffled pleas.

~~~~~
After about fourty minutes, you let out a sigh of relief and stood tall, staring sown the now crippled fairy, who had passed out for the fifth and likely final time after you cut the final tendon. she was bleeding, but she would survive, and now you were sure she would not pose a problem to you in terms of escape.
Hearing the door from upstairs slam shut, you note that someone was in the basement. "Better make sure your mouth stays shut." You say, placing your hand on the unconscious Fae, and slowly turning most of her into gold, at least enough to where she could survive but she wouldn't be able to make a peep when she woke up.
You make sure to leave her nose open so she can breath, and her eyes open as well so she can still see. You would hate for her to grow bored while you were away.
"Imp?! Get out here now!" Shouted the Elven girl, her voice making a head ache begin to form in your mind. With a sigh, you begin to hover upwards, until you rise out of the sewers before her in your golden glory, the elven girl taking a step back and gasping. "W-what happened to you?"
You smile, and bow before her, keeping up the act "I replenished some of my power of course. " You say simply, the elven girl a bit speechless. She then shook her head and cleared her voice.
"W-well good then it suits you better then before. Are you strong enough to kill my mother now? Do you even have a plan yet?"
The elf frowns at the request, opening he rmouth likely to protest, then she closed it and began to think. After a good while, she let out a loud sigh of exasperation "Fine, I'll allow it. But you'll be sleeping on the balcony, so no one sees you in my room."
You bow your head "Thank you Mistress, I will be sure to avoid being a nuisance." You say with a smile.
"Whatever. More important I suppose, I'm going to be in the study. Since you're still worthless, I have to find a way to make you more powerful. Or summon a better slave." You watched as the elf disapears, then immediately descended once more into the sewers, coming to a rest next to the almost solid form of the fairy, who was taking shallow breaths. With a wave of your hand, the gold disappeared, and you then slapped the Fae's face "Wake up!"
The fairy jolts awake, then let out an agonizing gasp as its mind was assaulted with the pain of its limbs. You quickly cover their mouth, muffling a ear splitting scream, holding tight as she rapidly thrashed her head about.
And you have your teeth and your tongue to go. Maybe you would prefer your eyes? Or I could heat a iron rod until it is red and use you like a piece of paper to practice my writing? How about I go and get the bones of your fellows, hm? I could make a nice little cage out of them to house you and have their skulls lined up, staring you down. Taunting you."
Blame my brother, my childhood and a minor interest in guro from a artistic standing point.
I could make it better (worse?) depending on what the wings are like (eg bird like / fleshy) and if we can get something to fry things in, same goes for the rest of the removed body parts.
We could also ask for it's gender. If male, it ain't gonna be much longer. If female, then an additional use of the iron rod pierces my mind and later it.
A few more things: drowning, bone-braking, application of salt to open wounds, burning, deafening, forced cannibalism and possibly crushing it slightly. Also we could get four rats, one for each limb and get them to run away from each other.
At first, the Fairy stays strong, he gaze unwavering as you speak. But you continue, and the list grows, and he resolves wanes. Eventually, she looks at you in abject horror as you speak of branding her flesh. Finally her head sinks back, and she lies down defeated, tears streaming down her eyes as sorrow dominates her features "I-I understand...I'll do whatever you want...please...just please don't hurt me anymore..."
You sit down next to her, untying her from her ropes, as they weren't needed anymore. "Glad we're on the same page. Now, what magic would you be able to teach me?"
The fairy shrank a bit, then bit back a sob "I-I can't teach you much...all I know are word of power...b-but I do know one that can be used by other races!" She said, looking at you, fearing punishment for her meagre offering.
>Spend time to learn word of power?
You should see what I could do with a proper set up. We lack torture tools and pain-inducing substances and shit. Hopefully we can just learn a spell for that though.
You guys did a good job severing the tendon mind you but you should have started lower on the limb, to preserve feeling in the upper limb so you can do it again later.
Actually I just thought of another few ideas but I'd need to know it's size relative to the following animals: ants, a common non-poisonous spider, wasps / bees and lastly a millipede or centipede.
You spend the next couple of hours being taught the word of power. It wasn't as simple as saying the word, as became painfully clear as the fairy tried their best to teach you. You required a certain mind set while saying it, and a tone that was commanding yet humble, as if firmly asking for a favor.
The fairy explained that words of power weren't like normal spells, where the user would actively change the world. Instead, the words merely invited the world to change. The world would only listen if the word was spoken correctly and with meaning, and then bring its change based on how strong the speaker was.
Royal Fae, back in the unified days, reshaped the Fae lands at will with the ease of breathing, making them almost impossible to traverse by those unfamiliar with the words.
Finally, after considerable time, you spoke the word correctly and with enough force to summon a wind. The wind was strong enough to push you a little, a strong gust if anything, but nothing serious.
The fairy looked up to you, worry on her features.
This has been some pretty fucked up shit, but I'm not complaining. Could we make implications to the fairy that we can restore it's companions if it gives us additional wisdom and/or dust? Obviously we don't have to follow through but do you think it'd be worth a shot?
>>
>>1642774
I'm with >>1642725 on this one, we're already in the dominant position in this relationship, no point and over reaching, promising shit we could never deliver. You have to give it little things, and make sure to always have it fear your authority. Giving it promises and trying to give it hope will just make it much more difficult to control. And frankly, I have no idea why anons think we even need to diplomacy/persuade her at all. That's just silly, it's already afraid of us and it knows it only stays alive and untouched as long as it obeys, why mess with that for no real incentive? You're just giving it the mindset that it has something to bargain with.
I went swimming on holiday in Greece as a child, I was decently far in standing in a cluster of seaweed near a rock when I noticed extreme pain in my legs. I did what any rational individual who's legs felt like they were on fire would do and got the fuck out of the water by climbing on the rock and screaming.
Luckily my father came and carried me back to shore, where we discovered my legs to be covered in seaweed seemingly stuck to the skin, which when removed caused my legs to bleed to the point of covering my wet legs in thin trickles of vaguely pink-tinted water.
By the time all the seaweed was removed, I could no longer walk thanks to blood loss, pain and my emotional state. Thus I had to be carried back to the hotel. My memory fails me but I am certain I didn't walk for the rest of that day but can't remember beyond that.
That sucks. I had a similar experience. When I was around 7, my mom had me throw away the trash. What I didn't know was that my sister had broken a bunch of glass cups on accident while I was at my friend's house. Right when I was in mid toss into the huge garbage can in our apartment parking lot, a shit ton of glass ripped through the bags and sliced all around my left leg. I remember not really knowing what to, so I just picked up the big pieces off the ground and threw it away, and then just limped inside. Ended up freaking out my mom and getting driven to the ER. Don't remember much after that, but I got stitches all around my leg
>>
>>1642905
Sounds painful as fuck. Strange how you can deal with severe injuries as a child yet I would probably be out for a few days after some of the shit that has happened to me if it happened again.
Now for a lightning round of the major ones:
1) When I was four or five I had a hot clothes iron dropped on my bare back, burning m. Still had to go to school and shit. Strangely I have no scars from it.
2) Large brick thrown at my head by my brother, to his credit he managed to hit me square on top of my head. Luckily no damage more serious than some bleeding came from it as far as I can remember.
3) Brick crushed one of my fingers, I think the ring finger of my left hand, and severely injured it. Nail fell off a few days later and I recovered without incident seemingly.
4) Broke my right arm at the elbow from a 1m fall. Literally no idea how I did it. Fucking brother laughed when it happened.
5) Repeated facial trauma caused by scaffolding poles to the face.
I swear there are more but those are the ones I can recall at the moment.
>>
>>1642924
oof, geez, you win man, only other major injury I can remember is that time I got electrocuted. Not as bad as it sounds, but it did hurt like hell.
>>
>>1642924
Oh, there was that time I spent work at Menards and a ladder on the top shelf fell and hit me right on my head. It hurt a bit but I was actually perfectly fine. I even caught the thing midair after it bounced off my head. A couple of customers saw and I was all "I'm ok". Looking back, It was actually pretty funny.
>>
>>1642935
I haven't even mentioned the medical things yet:
1) 5 injections for 1 tooth. Which may be responsible for my fucked up tooth these days. Literally one of the few parts of my body I hate is my teeth. I've taken shit care of them...
2) Getting holes drilled in one of my finger nails, same one if I remember, slept through it without any medicine or anything as far as I am aware.
3) I swear there was some sutures on my lips at some point but I can't remember.
Also there was the time one of my friends punched one of my teeth out. Admittedly it had been loose for awhile but still.
>>1642940
Shit yeah that is kinda funny.
>>
>>1642940
Speaking of "funny" accidents once I was riding my bike and lost control, flew into a fence and tried to get up but couldn't.
At first I laughed, but then I saw what happened: the fence PIERCED THROUGHT MY ARM! Then I felt the pain and started screaming, but the worst thing is that the owner of the property walked to me and instead of helping me he fucking kicked me in the balls! Reason? I was disturbing his peace by screaming (well duh dude, go stab yourself in the arm and see if you scream or not). With the lessen over, you give a firm nod and then fly up to the main basement. Quickly looking over to the door, you see a couple rats sniffing around it still, the rest likely within trying to find someway in. You wonder if the Elf's father had really only made one way into his study, and contemplated just why he would do such a thing.
Diverting you attention to the task at hand, you fly over to a storage room and pull up a cupboard door, immediatly backing away as a couple rats drop out and dust pours out. After the dust settled, you quickly spotted an old fur coat, which you immediatly picked up. The second item your wanted however proved a bit more difficult to find, but you eventually found some bedding tucked away behind a wine keg, likely a servent's spot to rest and take a break where no one would find them. Taking the pillow you fly off back to the fairy, placing the body on top of the pillow like it was a bed, the laying the fur coat over them. The whole time, they flinch and whimper at your touch, expecting pain or some cruel trick to reveal itself.
Even when you came with water and food, they were hesitant, until you firmly demanded they accept it. You had to slowly help them drink, but food you simply placed in the mouth for them.
By the end of it, your fairy prisoner was now well taken care of (baring the forced crippling) and thouroughly confused.
As you got up to leave them, she stares at your, her utter confusion obvious "W-why the sudden kindness?" She asked, wilting when you stare at her.
1+0= You guys know what's coming
You try to find a hiding spot from the servant, hoping to observe them and perhaps glean some useful information from his babbling. However, your wings are pretty big, and it's sometimes hard to keep track of them.
So, you at first didn't notice when your wings knocked over a broom. You barely heard said broom colliding and pushing over a small Barrera off a shelf. You noticed as that barrel rolled and smacked itself into the back of a dresser. You cringed as watched the dresser fall forward onto a wine keg. You stared in awe as the legs legs snapped and the leg rolled off at high speed.
What followed was a Goldberg themed catastrophe that was louder and more obvious than anything you've ever seen anyone do.
After about five minutes, it ended, with the servant completely unharmed, but staring right at you. "Oh shit, an imp!" He yelled, before turning and running straight up the stairs and out the door.
Your mistress began to bang on the study door from the inside, the doorway blocked by wreckage. You heard shouting from the servant upstairs, and likely had very little time until he told everyone he could.
>What do you do?
>>
>>1643117
>Out the door
Welp, can't really get him now. Start a fire I guess?
>>
>>1643122
Nah we just need to get to him and silence him quickly.
I would suggest either cutting open his throat or knocking him unconscious. Preferably the second so we can torture him for...well to be frank so we can get more tokens and level up more but in character, for fun / why not?
>>
>>1643117
Try and grab him, maybe drag him down into the sewers and RIP AND TEAR. We can get the elf to explain the noise and sudden disappearance of a servant.
>>
>>1643129
Which might raise suspicion, depending on what she says. If we just start a fire, the girl dies because she's trapped, and a clumsy servant takes the blame. He dislikes the girl and which is more believable? A servant saw a random imp in a mansions basement, or a servant started a fire and tried to put the blame on an imaginary imp.
>>
>>1643163
It's just way too early to set everything on fire, otherwise i would agree
Let's try to catch him and bring him into the sewers for some midas "interrogation" - if we fail, we set everything on fire and get the fuck outta there by fleeing into the sewers
"Mistress, you need to focus. Yes, a servant saw me. However, he is only a lowly commoner." You begin to say, the elf looking at you and beginning to protest, until you grab her face "A lowly commoner that you've seen drinking in the basement, and complaining about your mother. A servant who likely could use a little financial generosity from you."
A look of understanding on her face forms "B-but my mother has all the money"
"I can provide, just go to him, and convince him to shut up, to take the blame, or whatever is needed, and I'll provide the gold." You say to her. She nods, and runs off up the stairs, sprinting down the hall.
The door to the study is propped open by debree, a rat sits patiently near by, and the basement is still a fire trap.
How badly could reading a book fuck us up, though? At worst we would learn nothing - unless he made us roll a crit neg
Well, I would bet that the second surprise option is still safe. But when more of those pop up we should remain cautious. I don´t think that reading the book will make us any harm, but future surprise options may
Skipping ovewr Mammon, you come to The eldest of the Arch-Daemons, Corson.
Devourer of kingdoms and bringer of genocide, Corson lead the armie sof the Abyss against reality, and is cited as the most mentioned and known about Arch Daemon in all of history. His most notable feat was reducing an entire continent to glass, rendering it uninhabitable even several hundred years later.
He favors the cruel, those who would burn rend their enemies flesh from their bones and revel in the screams of the weak.
His main followers are Behemoth, a great Daemon who was reportedly the size of a mountain, and Asag, a Daemon whose gastly appearance made all run from his, and thus fuel his rage.
Next comes your eldest sister, Abyzou, Arch-Daemoness of Sloth
She is only known among the most fervent scholars of daemonology, but despite this low notoriety she holds possible the most power within the Abyss and the Mortal world.
Layer of strings and consumer of infants, she stayed the hands of many heroes, enticing them with rest when they grew weary from the never ending war. Infants died, as she would tempt them to simply relax and cease their breathing.
She introduced plagues and famine, all while staying within the Abyss and slowly eroding the resolve of many gods and mortals.
Through her carefully laid strings, she is the creator of the Children of the Abyss cult, and is infact the one who proliferated the knowledge of Demon summoning in the mortal world.
Her plans stretch on for centuries, and it is believed that she can see the future.
Her main followers are the Sirens, a trio of daemoness sisters whose song cause mortals to fall into a permanent slumber or force them to serve the sirens wishes.
Mammon - greed
Corson - wrath
Abyzou - sloth
I'm guessing there's going to be one for every deadly sin. As such, maybe as the quest goes on and we get new characters we tailor each one to conform to a particular sin. Like Zariel has an aspect of wrath and this imp now has the favour of Mammon, we could go on and on with a gluttonous dron, a perverted goblin, a prideful kobold etc.
>>1644342
Following her, comes Abraxus, Arch-Daemon of Pride.
Whisperer of forbidden spells and conjurer of calamities, Abraxus destroyed most of the worlds knowledge of magic, wishing to be the greatest master of the arcane within reality and wishing to ensure that no one would ever surpass him.
He hold the most powerful spells ever to be made, and trapped the souls of the greatest mages ever to live, and sit upon a thrown mad eof gold.
Through him, the Dark war was also seen as a time where great knowledge was lost, and soceity was held back from progress far longer then the war would normally have done.
He has no followers
Daeva, the young Arch Daemoness of Envy, is the youngest of the archdaemons.
When she was made aware of the reality outside the Abyss, she grew angry at what the gods held. Holding sway over the masses and possessing great power fueled by their love, Daeva saw the gods for what they were: Parasites feasting on the emotions of lesser beings.
Daeva wanted that, more than anything else.
While Abyzou started the cult, Daeva became its main patron, and in fact, the most widely worshipped Daemon within reality. She learned the ways of the divine, and has become like a god herself in terms of ability. She is not like the gods or her father, but she is the only Daemon who possess divine magic and gaisn power from her worshipers.
It is widely believed that she is the most likely successor to Abyss if the unholy father were to ever perish or fall.
Her followerers are the Children of the Abyss, as well as other Daemon cults within the mortal world.
Next comes The nameless Arch-Daemon of Gluttony.
Nothing is known of this Daemon, for he ate all mention of himself in history. All that is know is what he looks like, and the fact that he consumed endlessly, his appetite never ending and always growing.
>>1644399
Finally, there was Euryale, Arch-Daemoness of Desire.
She and Mammon share dmany activities, and it is hard for historians to tell when she would tempt mortals or Mammon would. However, those that were tempted by her were never tempted by money. Love, sexual pleasure, adventure, glory, family, anything a hero or king or man could desire to gain in their life was twisted against them, boiling away their mind with pormises and fantasies until entire nations descended on one another like rapid animals. Cannibalism grew to disastrous numbers due to her, and entire dynasties fell upon from the number of bastard born that held claim to their throne.
She is also the only Arch-Daemon to ever work with 'She Who Sleeps', tainting the once pure and noble mind of Vlane to become a lecherous and hedonistic man.
Her Followers are the furies, as well as possessing the loyalty of the Sirens as well. Also hold sway with Abraxus and Daeva. In a deep rivalry with Abyzou.
With this knowledge firmly held within your mind, you heard stomping descending down the stairs. Two sets if your eyes were accurate.
"Let go of me Witch. If you hadn't abused that damned secret passages your father installed, the clerics would be hear to set your body aflame!"
"Shut up Isaac, you don't even understand what's going on. And I know for a fact the Clerics would find a couple impure things attached to your soul as well, Unless you've forgotten a few things since last we met." The elf said in reply, silencing the servant.
"Imp! Where are you?! I'm here for Isaac's gold."
"Gold?"
You fly from the study, appearing from the darkness before Isaac. The young man stares at you with hesitant eyes, stepping behind the elf for protection "I can't believe you actually summoned a Demon Elena. What were you thinking?"
"It doesn't matter what my mistress was thinking," You say, Elena glaring at you "Only what you think of this." you say, dropping the solid clump of gold to the floor. Isaac's eyes growing wide. "That is for you to remain silent on this matter, and there is more I can provide, if you assist My lady and me with what we require..." You say, smiling at the servant viciously.
Slight Failure
Isaac seems ready to grab the gold, but then hesitates "I-I know your tricks Demon. You t-tempt mortals with what they desire...I-I'm not so easily bought." he says, though he seems to linger on the gold, as if conflicted with what he's saying.
Major succes
You glide over to the boy, picking up the gold as you do and grab his hand. He flinched, but then you place the gold in his hand. "No more being a mere servant boy. No more sleeping behind the wine kegs when your feel ready to break, no more picky noble women. Only a bright future, in the palm of your hand." You said, the boy's resistance dying at your words. "Work with us, and your future will only grow brighter..."
[Gain 5 silver counters]
Isaac held the gold in his hand, then let out a sound of resignation "Alright deal. Just keep the gold coming and I'll help you out." He said, pocketing the gold.
You smile and back off from him "Excellent. First things first, we'll need you to..."
The servant nods, then looks to Elena "I guess I'm stuck in this with you lot now...I should have taken the job at the inn instead." He grumbled, then turned to run off and do his chore, tripping over debris and landing on his face. With a string of curses and holding a bloody nose, he went off and out of the basement.
Elena looked to you, a look of relief on her face "I did a good job summoning such a silver tongued demon." She said, smiling then turning to leave "Alright, I'm going to eat supper. Clean up this mess before anyone else finds it. I'll be locking the basement door for you." She said, walking toward the stairs without a care.
