>Hey guys. Trying to do something short and fun while I work on the story to Gunslinger. So I decided to run this and see what happens. Rolls will be 1D20 for most actions. Best of first three. High good, low bad, Crits cancel crits

>You aren't sure what happened to begin with. You just remember a mass of teeth and claws, fangs sinking into your throat and that horrendous feeling of being completely drained. You remember a splash of hot blood across your lips and then your world was darkness.

>you awoke in a shallow grave, a nest of blood and torn flesh, rags and wormy soil. You claw your way to the surface and suck in a greedy lungful of the cool night air. Your throat burns in the worst thirst you have ever experienced. Your stomach twists and cramps as if you haven't eaten in weeks.

>No longer are you a weak, underfed sack of bones and stringy muscle. Your fingers are pointed talons of sharpened bone. Your hair has fallen out, leaving your pallid skin completely smooth. Your jaws have extended slightly, full of sharpened, crooked fangs and a long tongue. Your arms, shoulders and legs bulge with new muscle under the cold skin. You are now a predator, a hunter of any living thing they crosses your path.

>Where are you. First to 3

>Outside of your village. You were the town (Write in)

>In a roadside grave. Just off of a well trodden road outside a small town.

>the cemetery of a large town. You weren't a native but you still merited a spot.

>Roadside Grave.

You crouch over the torn, black earth, littered with leaf mould and the the broken roots of weeds. Surrounding you are tall and knobby trees, old forest growth. All around you are the smells of rot and growth, leaf and beast.

You can faintly see small furrows in the soft earth with your newly improved vision. A pair of drag marks leading up to your impromptu grave. Following them leads you to a well traveled road, wagon ruts and hoofprints clearly visible to you in the faint moonlight, The scent of man and horse strong in your nostrils.

Your stomach twists hungrily and your throat tightens. You are ravenous

>7. Hunt for food.

Your nostrils and eyes are overwhelmed by the sheer amount of input being given them. The scents and sounds of the forest are as plain and vibrant to you as the most thick aroma of food, the loudest instruments.

Unfortunately your new body takes quite a bit of getting used to. You dash along after a plump deer only to underestimate your speed and slam headfirst into a tree. Your frenzied clawing at a fat raccoon sends you plummeting from a high branch to land flat on your back.

In the end you catch only a pair of fat frogs, ripping them apart in your jaws and sucking down their entrails, licking their slimy blood off of your claws. You growl in frustration.
Your hunger isn't even close to being sated

>Nat 20! Feeding time!

You growl, slapping your head in frustration. You can't let your hunger get the better of you. You need to focus and find your damn food. Not run around and snatch at everything.

You creep along the forest, sniffing and stopping to listen occasionally. You find several small traces, infinitesimally small that lead you along better than any human hunter could ever hope to compete with.

A crushed blade of grass, a bent twig, a tuft of hair on a piece of bark. All of these lead you along like beacons in the night. You slowly peek your head over a fallen log and run your tongue across your fangs.

A small herd of fat deer are curled in the long grass and cover of the trees around them. They sleep soundly, sure that no predator can find them here.

Creeping close you take a deep shuddering sniff of the scent. Blood and meat and LIFE here for the taking. You hover over the stag, leader of the small herd and allow yourself a moment to savor the meal before you before you attack.

Driving your claws into the stags neck you hold it down as it bugles in fear and pain, hooves thrashing as you sink your fangs into its throat.

Your eyes roll back in ecstasy as the thick, copper scented blood gushes into your mouth, filling your cold body with warmth and strength. You gulp down the seemingly unceasing flow of blood until the stags struggles cease, its mighty heart pumping no more.

Its not nearly enough.

You rip into its carcass with your fangs and claws, shoveling mouthfuls of raw, dripping meat into your gullet, cracking bone and sucking out the marrow with your long tongue. By the time you are done you are bloated, drowsy and full, leaving behind a pile of cracked, gnawed bones, torn hide and a patch of bloody dirt.

You carve out a hollow beneath a rotten log with your claws and squeeze yourself into it, pushing dirt into the gaps to block out the sun you instinctually know is death to you.

As you slumber the mighty meal you just consumed begins coursing through your body, your muscles, bones and mind thrumming with potential energy.

You yourself will be able to use weapons and tools if you wish and acquire the skills to do so (though why would you actually work when you can make minions do it.) making yourself more human will make you harder to detect by regular humans but will actually make you easier prey for Vampire hunters. >19. Search for lair after self exam

You eye the rising full moon happily, the light reflecting off of the lenses at the rear of your eye. You walk lightly along the log, peering down into a pool of murky water.

You aren't pretty that's for sure. Your face is cruel and angular, your jaw stretched to allow the the large, ripping fangs that pushed out your other teeth. Your head is a pallid grey, devoid of hair. Your ears are long and pointed, twitching like a cats. Your shoulders, chest and arms are filled with corded muscle, the Grey flesh swelling as you bunch your arms. Your fingers end in cruel short talons of bone, capable of flensing flesh like butter. Your remaining clothes are filthy and ragged, little mote than the rags of a vest and pants that are nearly rotted and torn off of you.

Notable mutations-
-Typical Vampiric undead- Stronger than an average man, share fangs, claws, numb to most pain, enhanced senses.

>Skills-
-Raise Thrall
-Vampiric compulsion

You head off into the woods, searching for a suitable place to lay your head after a long night. You pass up hollows in the soft soil, holes where trees had fallen and even a small brush shelter where several trees had fallen into a cone shape.

You need something BETTER.

A few miles from the road you come across a crevice in the stone of a small embankment. Turning sideways you worm in, finding it continues deep into the hill and widens out almost immediately. After ripping the head from a ornery weasel and crunching it down you inspect your small abode.

It isn't much but it will suffice for now.

>10. Saved by the crit gods

You venture out into the woodw again, the rumbling and tightness in your stomach is starting to get to you. You know you could eat Corpse-flesh AMD honestly would if you could find some but there's no luck it seems.

The deer have moved their sleeping grounds, the rabbits and raccoons seem to be in hiding and you would rather not eat more frogs.

You had almost given up hope when on the way back to the cave you stumbled (literally) onto a sleeping dog in a small depression under a bush. Wild or not its dinner and you break its neck, dragging it behind you into the cave where you tear into the dripping flesh and coagulating blood.

Delicious.

You curl into a pile of dried leaves in the rear of the small cave and slumber as the sun approaches. It has been a fruitful night no matter the lack of prey.

>1. Crit Fail.

You stalk along the trees, your bare feet sinking noiselessly into the soft soil as you search armor prey. You need something with some vitality to it. Not sickly stray dogs and frogs.

The wind picks up and you cock your head, scenting the air as it brings a new smell to you. It makes your stomach twist in hunger and your mouth flood with saliva.

Humans.

You dash through the trees, all delicacy forgotten as you search through the woods for the source of the delectable scent. You want it.

You NEED it.

Finally you spy the flickering of a small campfire and you slow, peeking through the brush as you get closer. Your stomach is growling audibly and your mouth hangs open as you approach, the scent of humans filling you with hunger.

Four humans lay around a small campfire, a fifth sitting on a treestump nearby puffing on a pipe, possibly keeping watch.

From their weapons, equipment and dress you can guess that these are no noble adventurers. Bandits hiding out in the foothills most likely.

You think if you are careful this may go your way and you will have a feast.

You pull back into the woods away from the humans camp and ready yourself. Clambering partway up a thick tree using your claws and toes to carve out footholds you cling to the trunk like an overgrown bat.

You open your mouth and inhale before letting loose the loudest screech you possibly can. The piercing sound echoes throughout the forest, waking birds and sending small animals running for cover.

You screech again as you hear the humans waking, alarmed cries of "The Feckin hell is that?" reaching your ears.

After convening for a moment the humans shudder as you screech again, the agonizing sound grating their eardrums. Now that they are out from under their blankets you get a good look at them. There are three males of varying ages and two females.

The older male is a good head taller than the others, hefting a sharpened pick over his shoulder. The second oldest male shares similarity to him in face, possibly a brother or son, carrying a wood choppers axe. The third male is armed with a crossbow and seems to be the youngest of the group, he also seems injured with a bandage around his left thigh. The females are a scarred, black haired woman with a long dagger and the other is a fair faced young woman with nearly white hair. She seems unarmed for some reason.

Four of them light torches from the small campfire and set into the woods in groups of two, leaving the young male with a bandage on his thigh to guard the camp with his crossbow.

>20. Manflesh is back on the menu.

As the bandits search the woods for the source of the hellish screeches you circle around them, slipping behind their line and approaching the campfire.

The young, wounded bandit sits with his back to a tree, eying the forest while his shaking hands hold his crossbow, the tip flickering back and forth.

He looks left as the bushes rustle, some small creature fleeing away into the forest.

He calls out, his voice cracking
"Irlan!? Feorth? Rusla? Are you the-re!?!"

He swallows, adjusting his grip on the crossbow as his plans grow sweaty. A scratch above him on the tree trunk prompts him to look up, directly into your grinning face. He opens his mouth to scream as you dig your claws under his chin, hooking through the jawbone and hauling him up the tree trunk as he gurgles in agony. His crossbow clatters to the ground as you cling to him like some vile parasite, claws and feet gripping him tightly as you sink your fangs into his throat.

Your eyes roll up in ecstasy as the rich, strong blood flows down your throat, the boys terrified heart pumping it out of his body. As his struggles grow weaker you grow stronger, your muscles and body brimming with energy. At last his struggles cease and the final drops of blood leave him. You sit in the boughs of the ancient tree, faint drops of blood trickling down the trunk from your feast.

Your thirst is sated but your hunger remains. The boys flesh will serve nicely for that. You tear into his body with your fangs, cramming handfuls of flesh and organs into your maw, bones cracked and crunched down like sticks of celery. You gnaw every scrap of flesh and tissue from his bones before crushing them in your jaws and sucking out the marrow.

At last you retreat to your den, belly swollen and drowsy, leaving behind only droplets of blood and scraps of flesh for the bandits to find when they return.

You curl into your nest of leaves and rags and dream of growth and change...

>18. Hunt for bandits.

You are eager to put your new bulk to the test. Those bandits are probably still nearby, its only been a 12 hours. Surely they spent that time searching for him. At least some of it.

You scent the air, your long tongue twitching as you taste the odor of humans. You snarl as saliva drips from your lips. The scent is enough to drive you mad with hunger but you reign it back. You are more than your hunger. You control it. Not the other way around.

At least for now.

You set off, leaping among the trees, your powerful legs allowing you to spring from the trunks and gain height as you go. You cover miles of the forest without ever touching the ground. Your claws sink deep into the wood as you pick up the sound of humans.

"Cael!? Cael!? Where are ya boy!?! Git out here before I come hunt ye down and flog ye!" comes a rough voice, ragged with worry and use.

You snarl viciously. It seems the humans have not given up hope. The older male human is stomping resolutely up a trail, a torch held high as he calls out again and again, the scarred, black hard woman following him.

"Ruslan give it up! You saw the blood. Hes dead or worse. We need to move before something else happens " she says gently, patting his shoulder.

You spy through the trees another pair of torches, moving in opposite directions.

>8. She's a weakling right?

You settle your sights on the unarmed, white haired young woman, walking back toward their camp. She will surely be an easy meal.

You leap from tree to tree, you powerful legs propelling you high into the air to cling to the trees like an oversized bat above her. You wait for the perfect moment and drop.

She looks up just as you detach, her eyes glowing as she extends her hand, mouth working in some arcane language.

"Azhelioz Illuminon Phieros!" she growls, voice echoing unnaturally as a bolt of pure blue flame flies at you. You twist in midair and the bolt only scorches your side, the skin and fat burned to carbonized ash in a moment.

You land in a heap, rolling to your feet with a hiss of pain as she readies her energy again, palms glowing.

1. Crit fail.

You snarl, watching her move as her lips move soundlessly, the scent of charred flesh from your side burning your nostrils. You screech and push from the ground with your powerful legs, claws outstretched to rip her throat out.

She isn't there.

She ducks down beneath your lunge at the last minute, firing a pair of weaker bolts into your belly as you soar over her. You screech in agony and flail on the ground as the magical fire scorches your insides, smoke coiling from the pair of ragged, cooked holes in your belly.

You stand, shakily, spitting black blood onto the ground. The Madge is eying you in fear, a faint glow on her fingers the only trace of her power.

She calls over her shoulder for her friends but they are still a distance away
"Irlan! Ruslan! Emora! Get over here! Now!"

You growl in rage and pain, your body already trying to heal the horrendous damage to your innards.

>8. Barely beat the Dc cause... Whew.

You snarl in pain and rage as smoke oozes from the holes in your belly like ethereal blood. The Magefire is still sizzling away inside you and it wont stop until either the mage is dead or you are beyond her sight.

You'll settle on her being dead.

You leap forward again, black blood trailing from your jaws as you leave the ground.

The female mages eyes widen in terror as she desperately tries to gather the power for a spell. Allshe manages to conjure is a flash of blue flame that only sears a small handprint onto your chest as you bear to the ground.

Her cry of terror shifts to one of agony as your claws dig into her ribs, the bone cracking under your strength as you wrench her head back with one hand, the claws ripping her scalp open as you bury your face in her throat.

Sweet, delicious life flows over your tongue as your fangs rip open the jugular, your frenzied swallowing ensuring not a drop spills past your lips. Already you can feel your body healing, the burnt tissue inside you becoming whole and functional once again, the scorched flesh being replaced by clean, new skin without a single scar.

You rear your head back and take a deep shuddering breath as the mage finally dies, her eyes blank and glassy in the moonlight. The approaching torches don't bode well for you here.

>Leave her body here.

You sling the drained mage over your shoulder and make your way back to your lair before the remaining bandits can catch up.

Pained cries of
"Feorth!?! FEORTH!?"
Follow you as you lope along, the limp hands flopping on your back as you run.

Squeezing into your lair you sling the mages body onto the ground and tear into it. Ripping away the cooling flesh you devour her in great greedy mouthfuls. Her once fair face is shredded off and eaten before the skull underneath is cracked like am egg, the brain scooped out.

By the time you finish the once promising young bandit mage is a pile of cracked bones and shredded clothes.

As you curl into your nest of leaves and scraps of rags you senile hideously, belly bulging with the remains of the mage. Her body, her blood, used to make yours whole and improve it. As you drift off to sleep you think of how she had nearly roasted you and you growl sleepily in displeasure. That would not do to repeat.

As you sleep your skin shifts and ripples, thickening into a mottled Grey leather. Your chest, shoulders, back and thighs all resemble that of some monstrous beast, hairless hide thicker than some leather armors.

When you wake you examine the changes to yourself with some interest. Growling in pleasure when your claws have difficulty nicking the hardened skin.

>Gained- Beasts Hide. Your skin now resembles something close to Rhino hide, thick and tough over your sensitive spots. Blades will have difficulty cutting you but piercing weapons can still ruin your day.

You are more durable than a normal person. That first Magefire bolt would have critically injured you on a Crit fail. Those second two were lower damage but still did a nasty bit of damage. That's why the mage was scared. You weren't dead and she had thrown her most powerful attacks at you. Mages in this setting lose power quickly. If you can avoid their attacks they will get progressively weaker. Its just avoiding the BIG ones can be hard

The forest melts away beneath you as you cover the miles, your nose, eyes and ears on the watch for any human scent. As you grow closer to the road you notice a faint glow through the trees. The smell of smoke and human blood sets your nose to tingling and you watch from the trees.

A pair of burning wagons are overturned along the road, blocking a third from passing. A pair of men shoot arrows from each side of the road, keeping the wagon guards pinned while another quartet of bandits approach. You drop down behind the first bandit archer, the man cackling to himself as he readies a barbed arrow. He turns just in time to catch your massive fist across the cheekbone. His skull visibly deforms as he flies through the air, smashing into a tree with a way thunk, his feet kicking into the wet soil. The other archer yells in rage as they witness your brutal killing of their ally. He draws back a arrow as you bunch your powerful legs, leaping across the road with your claws outstretched, maw trailing saliva.

>1. Not so fast.

The arrow catches you directly under your ribcage, the razor sharp arrowhead punching through a soft portion of your hide. The bloody tip emerging from your back as you screech in agony, black blood dripping from the dual holes in your hide.

Your leap turns into a flailing tumble, your bulk smashing into the carriage, the arrow snapping inside your body. The terrified caravan guards stare at you in shock, their faces smeared with the blood of their allies.

The archer barely has time to widen his eyes in shock before you barrel into him like a cannonball of hate, bones audibly shattering from the impact. You dig your fangs into his throat as he gurgles in agony, the rich lifeblood flowing over your tongue. You can feel the arrow being pushed out of your body, the wounds sealing without a trace.

You lick the blood from your lips, eying the corpse in front of you before turning back to the bandit men who are busy looting the caravan, one of them calling for their missing archers.

Whatever he was expecting it most likely wasnt a hulking vampiric monstrosity.

His jaw drops in shock as you barrel over him, gripping him by the head, twisting over him you hear his neck breaking like a green twig, his head popping off in your claws.

>12. Heads up.

Which you prompyly heft and fling into the face of the nearest bandit as hard as you can. Both skulls crack at the high speed collision. The struck man falls backward, his axe falling from nerveless fingers as he twitches spasmodically. The remaining two bandits look up and share a look before charging you swinging a blacksmiths hammer and a sickle.

>19. Hammer time.

You leap at the brawnier bandit, smashing him down into the ground with your weight as he rears back to swing. The hammer flies into the air and you screech into his face before snatching it from the air and smashing it down upon his skull. Grey tissue splatters the surrounding soil and the sickle wielding bandit cries out in shock, a fatal mistake.

>20. Gut hook.

You roll under his clumsy blow, the bloody blade hissing over your head as you evade. You sidestep and twist, the blade whipping by with inches to spare. The bandit grows increasingly desperate, slashing wildly as you effortlessly avoid the blows.

Eventually he swings a heavy, doubled handed blow at your head. His face contorts in determination before twisting in agony as you grip the blade and rip it away, breaking his wrists. Clenching your fist hard enough to make a trickle of blood run down the blade you sweep it across his belly, sending a pile of slick grey coils onto the ground. He sags to his knees and looks up at you in shock and horror, his face paling rapidly. You contemptuously backhand him, his neck breaking from the blow and his body denting the carriage as he impacts the side.

>15. Go forth my minions and bring me lunch.

You pull out another pair of the bodies, the cold flesh not the most appetizing meal. Waving off your Thralls after you affix them with hoods and makings sure their gray flesh is covered thoroughly you send them out to hunt. They each heft one of the bandits weapons, eagerly lurching out to make you proud.

Sleepily you tear into the meal, ripping the cold flesh apart and shoveling it into your maw. Bones crack under your teeth and the congealed marrow is sucked from them greedily. You eventually retire to your nest of leaves and slumber.

As you dream your body shifts and changes. Your muscles become more compact and dense, retaining their strength but losing some of their bulging size. Your jaw shrinks and straightens, teeth shrinking back into your gums. Your skin gains a slight human texture to it, no longer a pallid Grey. Your claws shift into sharpened nails and your body shrinks slightly, reducing your stature a bit. Your ears are still slightly pointed but not enough to be noticeable.

>Gained-Human visage. You can pass for human. At a distance. In the dark. If they don't pay attention. You will become progressively less human until you feed again.

Your thralls return proudly, dragging a bludgeoned body behind them. The man groans, blood trickling down his face as his head strikes a rock.

You have your thralls prop up the concussed man against the wall of the lair. He groans in pain, his eyes fluttering as he take in your face through blurry eyes.

"Wha-Wha... What happened? Who're you?" he gets out before you grip him by the throat, his eyes bulging as you stand, lifting him above you, his head scraping the ceiling.

Your eyes glow with a deep, dark violet as you channel the spe through your hand, the wounded man kicking and gurgling in terror as he feels his very self being drained away. Suddenly with the last scraps of himself gone he goes limp, heart stopping and breath ceasing at the same moment.

>Gained 1 soul. Can be invested into yourself for a bonus to a spell or into a thrall for increased capabilities.

>Increased intelligence for Thrall.

As the Thrall tears into the warm flesh you smile proudly. It has done well for an undead thrall with only the barest scraps of a mind.

That will have to be remedied.

As it shovels meat into its maw its eyes slowly light up, the dull glassiness of undeath replaced by the light of a fledgling mind. The Thralls chewing slows, scraps of flesh hanging from its lips as it looks at you with the loyalty and adoration of a lifelong servant or a fed dog.

"Mmmm.... Mmmmassster" it mumbles, bowing its head.

For the game. Think of them as super vampires who are the progenitors of vampire clans. And some are...different.

One became a madness-linked hive mind for their clan that sometimes appears as 12 identical little girls

One became one with the primordial dark

One is just a thing made or animalistic features

And one is just a mass of flesh that's hiding under New York.

What I'm asking is basically can we become something that makes other vampires shit themselves thinking about?

You make your way out of the lair, having dressed yourself in the remnants of one of the bandits jackets and pants and that unfortunate travelers boots.

You make your way through the forest, your thralls shuffling behind, the Risen guiding the other along and watching you closely. Forced to move slowly for the less than hasty undead it takes you nearly an hour to make it to the road.

Crouching in the brush alongside the road you wait, scenting the air a faint wisp of man and beast makes its way to you. Someone on horseback is making their way here.

Does the Will Breaker spell allow you to control a human to simply commit suicide? That would make hunting a lot easier, if you can make them drop like flies.

You order your Thralls to begin setting up a ambush, waving them towards the trees lining the road. With groans of effort they haul themselves into the branches, clumsily pulling themselves into the upper branches and hiding among the foliage.

You step behind a tree and watch from the shadows as the sound of hoofbeats grows closer. A faint glow approaches through the trees and suddenly you realize.

That's not just one horseman.

A large wagon, pulled by heavy draft horses takes up the whole road. Ahead and behind are pairs of mounted men armed with

You growl unhappily. This is NOT what you expected.

One of your thralls, the stupid one, gigives grunt of alarm as the branch under it breaks, plummeting to the ground in a heap in front of the guards.

Their horses rear back in surprise, the men shouting in shock as the Grey fleshed corpse twitches slightly on the ground, several bones cracked. The wagon driver shouts at his men

"Keep yer Fucking eyes up. Could be more fuckers hiding in the trees!"

And lashes his horses, driving them on to trample the unlucky Thrall.

>19. Catch and release.

To your vampiric senses the world may as well move in slow motion. The string of the crossbow snaps, flinging the short heavy bolt directly at your heart.

Contemptuously you turn, extending your hand and snatching the bolt out of the air. Continuing your spin you fling your hand out, releasing the bolt right back along its original trajectory.

The unfortunate Caravaneer probably just registered that as a blur of movement before the punch shaped bolthead drives into his eye, emerging from the back of his head. He falls back, tangling the reins in his legs and pulling the horses up short.

>1. Vehicular Thrallslaughter.

Unfortunately your Risen thrall had taken that moment to dive at the wagon driver. The momentum of the leap along with the sudden stop of the wagon flings it ahead, directly under the stomping hooves of the upset horses. >9. Thrall wrestling championship.

Your Thrall pushes against the spear embedded in its chest, its lack of a heartbeat or need to breathe allowing it to shrug off the mortal wound. However the leverage afforded by the weapon allows the dismounted horseman to push it back, pressing it against a tree and holding it there.
"Dirke! Take the shot! Take the- fuck!! Look out!!" he yells as...

>20. Will (and skull) Broken.

The Caravan driver remaining at his pmost has the perfect chance to shoot a sharp, piercing bolt directly into your thralls skull. A perfect shot that would end the luckless undeads short unlife.

That is if the dominated Guard hadn't yanked him from his seat, stomping his face brutally until his head is a flattened mess of shattered bone and spattered Grey matter. He collapses backward, eyes blank and lipid moving soundlessly.

>19. Soul Harvester.

Witnessing the death of his compatriot the brave guard takes matters into his own hand. With a vicious wrench of his spear he pins your thrall to the tree, taking a step back and drawing his sword, a heavy chopping blade.

"Lets see ya walk this off you ugly fu-hrrk!" he gurgles, your powerful claw gripped around his throat. Your eyes glow with a deep violet tinge as his face pales, lips turning blue as the mans very soul is funneled into you. His drumming feet slow and still as the last vestiges of him are drained into your ravenous core

Second however I do think we should make a Revenant, we can lure people out into the forest easier.
>That is if the Revenant looks like a semi-passable normal guy.

>Heal thralls.

You wrench the spear from the thralls body, mentally ordering it to attend its injured companion. It shuffles over and drags the guard with the crushed skull over to the Risen, both undead tearing into the cooling meat. Their wounds visibly heal, Grey flesh sealing shut without a mark. Bones creak and pop as they reset and join again.

>11. Soul harvest and immediate thralling with own soul.

Stepping over the broken guard you peer into his sightless eyes. His lips twitch spasmodically, mouthing the words you implanted in his mind.

>Killhimkillhimkillhimkillhimkillhim

You bare your fangs, placing both hands onto the sides of his head. Channeling your power you forcibly tear the ragged remnants of his soul from his body. He doesn't even respond as you rip away everything that made him... Him.

>1 soul absorbed

As soon as the process is finished you bite your wrist, blood trickling onto his lips as you press your claw into his temple. His eyes glow brightly with a dark violet light as his soul is forced back into an undead body.

You stand back, admiring your work as he thrashes and kicks, his soul fighting against your will. He suddenly goes rigid, climbing robotically to his feet and staring straight ahead. He bows his head to you as his will is subjugated to your own.

>Gained 1 Revenant. Moderately skilled swordsman and spearman. Knows a bit about the nearby town. Equipped with-
>1 shortsword

You leave your freshly healed thralls and Revenant to drag back the remaining bodies, taking the faster route home to avoid the coming sun.

The bodies are stacked along with the 4 other bodies that are starting to become rather ripe. Your Revenant wrinkles his nose at the scent as you retreat into your lair, the air scorching your skin.

The Revenant is still human sized and with the appropriate capacity for food. It can consume a body over the course of a day but two would actually make him burst. Same as your thralls. They require bigger bodies to eat more.
>>
>>1617559
Eh, feed everyone one corpse. Then I guess we eat whatever's leftover, if we can stuff it.
>>
Would it be possible for us to, say, create a handful of wild, uncontrolled thralls or zombies next to a village and just set them loose to create havoc? Would they spread a reanimating plague, effectively becoming self sustaining? At least until whatever kingdom this is responds and moves to wipe them out?
>>
>Feed thralls each one corpse.

Your thralls select one of the more rotten bodies each and drag them into their corner of the lair, tearing into the souring flesh with gusto. They shovel cold, stinking meat into their gullets happily, bellies bulging with the pounds of flesh.

Your Revenant snorts at the gorging undead before dragging out one of the fresher corpses at your urging, drawing a dagger and carving away pieces of meat, chewing and eating slowly and methodically. He seems to be converting the food to energy much faster than your Thralls. He wipes blood from his lips before licking his palm, seemingly indifferent to the meal itself.

You yourself drag away a pair of the fresher bodies, tearing into them happily. Flesh is torn from the bone before being shoveled into your gnashing maw, gulping it down in great handfuls.

>>
>>1617819
at what point is our Risen on parity with the Revenant in terms of intelligence? I seek to have inter party banter.
>>
>>1617830
Seems kinda pointless for what are supposed to essentially be simple killing machines.

Maybe if we can ever turn others into lesser vamps to serve us.
>>
>Risen upgraded intelligence.

Your Risen chews slowly, its eyes brightening further as it eats, looking around the dim cavern. It is no sentient creature yet but it is much more capable than its compatriot. It is fully capable of performing tasks for you now, hunting for prey, gathering materials and anything else you ask of it.

>Thrall upgraded to Ghoul.

Your second Thrall begins groaning as its muscles and bones shift and thicken, audible pops and creaks as its wrappings stretch and tear. Its arms and fingers stretch, talons emerging from its fingertips like knives of white bone. Its jaw thickens and widens, its mouth gaping wide as teeth are pushed out by cruel, wicked fangs. Its lanky form hides vicious strength as it begins scraping flesh from the bones in front of it

>Revenant speed upgraded.

Your Revenant finishes his meal, wiping blood from his lips and licking the gore from his dagger. His fingers have extended slightly, his eyes sharp and clear. He seems, leaner and more aware than before. His body thrums with energy, his muscles shifted and becoming more efficient.

>Skin upgraded again.

As you sleep the day away you dream of invulnerability. Of blades being turned away by your very skin. Arrows glancing from your form. Your body uses the feast you consumed to fuel this dream into partial reality.

Across your body your skin ripples, layer upon layer forming like thick scales of hardened tissue over your vulnerable areas. Knobs and scales of bone emerge from your skin over your chest, forearms, thighs and back, your ribs shifting and interlocking into a cagelike form that guards your organs.

You wake and examine your body proudly. Surely you are much more formidable now.

>Gained- BoneScale hide- you have a great resistance to edged weaponry and a mild resistance to piercing weapons. You have become less human.

>Send Minions to hunt for Prey (Who do you send)

That will become available once you reach a higher level of power. Your still a fledgling yourself.
>>
>>1617866
>>Send Minions to hunt for Prey (Who do you send)
Bring em all and go with them. Can we travel to the town and scout out potential juicy targets?

If not go through the forest and see if I can't hunt down and finish off the last couple of bandits we harassed early on.
>>
>>1617866

>Send Minions to hunt for Prey (Who do you send)

Have the revenant lead two thralls to go and find prey.

And I thought of a name Cursed, how about we go with Thrane?
>>
>>1617866
-Send out the Risen and Ghoul to act as a hammer and anvil. Risen leads the unwary into the ghoul's murderous embrace.
-You go hunting solo, see if there is anyone to pick off.
-Send the revenant to town, both to see what is going on, if you have made any commotion yet, and if there are any local bandits are societal woes that will not be missed. he is another set of eyes and ears.

>>
>>1618318
hello anon. here as well.
>>
>>1618348

Welcome anon, come join me and the other anon in getting out ideas for making a more terrifying vampire
>>
>>1618341
I would consider looking at our current form, human and armored. human but not.

Kain from the legacy of kain games is a good example. We could be social enough to move through society, but still be horrific. I really like the idea of our risen constructs, and investing work into them to give them unique identities.

I think the next project might be to attempt a classic vampire move and obtain a female for our social circles and human interactions. She could lead others to us as a well placed trap.

A big thing to figure out is how we integrate into the world around us, I am fully fine with nearly any direction. Right now being a murder machine is a-ok.

I would like to delve down the path of experimentation on these thralls we have, as commented in >>1616916

Perhaps rouding out our collection: find a sorceress and a powerful beast of the land.
>>
>>1618362

Ahhh, Kain. Fine choice

So far we're acting like just a predator. A sadistic one, but just a beast driven by the need to consume and feed. But when we get into mortal society we'll need to develop a personality.

One that while in public we play the part of a polite, affable, friendly guy. But when our prey is with us we either act as the predator we curently are. Or we could find a way to be worse.

Take the Patrick Bateman approach on how we'd be in public and in private.
>>
>>1618366
I agree, would we be able to shapeshift later on? Though we need to infiltrate a town/city so we can expand our power base so a human appearance would be prudent. That being said we would loose out on allot of our power if we gain a human form.

I'm in for the route of being a vampire warlord. And for becoming a vampiric eldritch monstrosity that drains the divine blood out of gods.

But babysteps. I say for town we keep to wearing robes and a mask, and have a select few to represent our interests.

I also figured something we could have, a sort of lamprey-like second mouth like vampires in the Strain. Because goddamn it those things are pretty cool
>>
>>1618379
its why I would suggest "agents". Thralls that look human, and either act human, or let us see or control through their eyes.
>>
>>1618391
Like a genestealer broodlord? That could work very well. Basically, us after we gain some numbers we work to infiltrate the local criminal underworld and become the new kingpin and having agents do our bidding.
>>
>>1618395

You think we're going to stop at just being a kingpin? Oh my boy, we're gonna go beyond that.

I'm also thinking that we could make deals with some more...demonic beings. Power in exchange for sacrificing babies or kids or something of the like.

And when we're powerful enough, I'm willing to find out what flavor demon blood is.
>>
>>1618413
I'd hesitate to start a kingdom. Being a lone eldritch monstrosity gives you much more longevity than loudly advertising your power for every single light based deity to send their champions at.
>>
>>1618413
I love how you think!
>>1618475
I agree aswell, hence we rule from the shadows
>>
>>1618413
you have interesting ideas, but keep in mind, so does cursed, he has set clear limits and probably has some lore as to how this place works. We aren't exactly a vampire either, sort of an undead...thing. The upgrades we pick give us endless paths, down that of a rampaging monster, or even something potentially seeking a semblance of humanity.
>>
>Sorry for the delay guys! Feel free to suggest ideas, new undead types and plans!

I was thinking we can grab something to let us rapid drain to hulk out temporally. For moments we need some redbull or the like for an extra kick.

>Revenant.

You feel the voice of your master in your mind, his iron will griping your very soul tightly, making sure you understand your orders.

>Go to the town. I have need of your.... Skills there.

"Yes... Master"
You bow your head, tossing your spear to the Risen, the Lesser undead catching it with only a bit of difficulty. The Ghoul accompanies it, loping along like a beast, its long claws scraping the rock floor of the lair.

Squeezing through the gap to the outside of the lair, the bloody smears on the rocks outside showing where bodies had been drug in through the rough stones.

Adjusting your sword you watch the other servants of the Master heading out along the forest, eagerly headed to hunt for him. With a rush of air the Master himself blurs by you, headed towards the road itself.

You grip the pommel of your sword and make your way down to the road, smiling slightly at the faint screams behind you. It seems they are having some luck after all.

Being undead has its perks, you ponder. You don't get tired, you don't get cold, you don't even really feel pain. Youre just so damn HUNGRY. All the time. The miles melt away beneath your feet and several small crossroads later you find yourself eying the closed gates of Sverelfan. The town is encircled by a twenty foot wood and stone wall, torches burning at key points along its top, you catch sight of a guard on patrol, the torch bearing mans faint whistling reaches you.

A medium sized town you remember from your "past life", specializing in copper and iron mining in the hills and lumber from the great forests. You approach the shut and barred gates and look around, a guard snoozing at his post in a nook next to the gate, a nearly empty bottle of rotgut next to him.

>1. This secret tunnel is occupied. Please find another.

You bare your slightly sharpened teeth and snarl to yourself in frustration. turning on your heel you begin walking the perimeter of the walls at a distance, looking for any sign of a hidden entrance.

Several depressions under the wall where rain had washed out the foundations or created gaps seemed promising but they had been filled in with iron rods and gravel.

You doubt even the master could force his way in there undetected. You continue on, circling along the walls.

A flash of furtive movement catches your eye, a faint depression in the hill the wall is built on. A pair of hooded figures emerge, looking about furtively as they begin pulling small satchels out of the tunnel behind them.

You lean forward in interest, eyes brightening as you do. This could be very interesting. Very interesting inde-

"Don't. Fookin. Move."
Comes a low voice from behind you. The crunch of feet on twigs and leaves tells you your ambusher had been laying in wait.

"What the Fookin 'ell you doing by our hole stranger?"

The prod comes again with more force, the point of whatever the hell hes poking you with piercing the thin leather of your armor.

"Answer me ye fuck or ill feather ye"
Comes the voice again, anger and slight fear in the rough sound.

You bare your teeth, thumb popping your sword from its scabbard as you turn, ducking down as the crossbow bolt shoots past your ear like a giant hornet.

Your blade is in your hand before you even realize it. The hooded and masked figure behind you seems to be moving through honey as your sword slices first once, then again.

Red streams of blood mist into the air as the man gurgles, his eyes widening as his lifeblood fades away in red rivers. With a trio of wet thunks his body hits the ground.

You flick your blade, eying the lone smear of blood along its edge as you wipe it on the mans ragged hood, sheathing it with a smile.

Cursed I have an idea for a kind of undead.

>Fell Ghouls

Corpses possessed by demons, demons cannot usually manifest without summoning. But crafty enough or powerful enough demons are able to posses corpses. Warping the body into a half-human and half-demonic visage, it's able to preform demonic magics. Commanding fire and the like, and they're inhumanly strong and durable
>>
>>1619392
> other
Set the body up so it doesn't look weird. Take the crossbow, and then return the bird whistle signal to lure them out. I also think we should take one alive, or least keep a body intact enough so that we can raise one as an undead with enough intelligence later on so they retain information about the smuggling route we can use later on.
>>
>>1619441
Once you learn how to contact and summon demons (LONG way off) you could possibly enslave them to your will. The weakest demon could curbstomp you right now
>>
>>1619449

I'll vote for it, adds my idea and the other anons idea together

You wrench free one of the bloodies stakes from the dead smugglers body, flinging it end over end at the nearest Smuggler with a snarl.

*THWACK*

The man yelps in pain as the blunted end of the stake whacks him directly in the forehead. He reels backward, rubbing the rapidly swelling knot and cursing as you charge, drawing your blade as his companion gets over his shock, drawing a long dagger and sweeping the back of the blade up to redirect your strike.

Your blade sheets off to the side, the tip slicing through the front of the mans dark, cloth shirt rather than through his throat. You growl before the second Smugglers fist impacts your jaw, nearly knocking loose some teeth.

Long live the Brethren Moons. They are hungry, they are coming
>>
>14. Ravaging Revenant.

The dagger wielding smuggler sidesteps, circling around you as you turn to follow, the stunned Smuggler stumbling as he rubs the bleeding knit on bus head.

Above the mans mask his eyes narrow, the only tell as his dagger spins in his hand, the blade sweeping around to carve into your throat.

Too slow.

Your arm comes up, his wrist slamming into your forearm with a solid smack as you turn, ducking around and leveraging his arm to lock the joint.

With a vicious wrench the joint is torn apart, bone splitting the skin as the man arches back. His scream of agony is silenced by your sword driving through the base of his skull, the tip emerging from his mouth in a river of blood as he falls bonelessly in a heap.

You pull your blade from his corpse with a wet *snik* and turn to face the concussed Smuggler, the man struggling to draw his studded cudgel.

>19. Enter the fist. Exit your teeth.

With a dazed yell the Smuggler finally manages to draw his cudgel and charge in a shambling run that would make a freshly raised Thrall proud. You sigh to yourself, you should probably take at least one of them alive.

You plant your sword point down in the dirt and crack your knuckles, stepping forward and facing the Smuggler just as the first hit comes down towards your head.

If you were still there it might have hurt.

A simple sidestep lets you evade the blow. A contemptuous punch spatters blood and shattered teeth from the mans mouth. He collapses to his knees with a groan of pain only to receive a second brutal smack to the side of the head. He collapses like a sack of potatoes. With a quick check of his pulse you ensure he is still alive and stand to look around.

No angry villagers.

No guards.

No clerics.

No smugglers.

Couldve gone worse.

I'd call this a mission success. Dinner and information, not bad.

I forgot to put a y/n on the "Eat one of the bodies". You can only bring one so do you want to leave the other or eat it

Loot the shit out of the bodies. You might have to act in the realm of man once more, and their currency has value. Shit, you might even be able to bribe the corrupt with it. They are smugglers, so perhaps there is something useful there as well. Worth a look no?

after that, Drag back the smuggler and a body.

But only after you do something really fucked up, like flay the other corpses...oh...and hide the hidden entrance.
>>
>>1620148
But if we start doing shit like flaying corpses we might be giving away the fact that there's undead about.

>Drag the captured Smuggler back along with one body.

You quickly make a cut up the dead Smugglers shirt, binding the unconscious man tightly.

As you work your stomach grumbles and you eye the dismembered Smuggler hungrily. Drawing your dagger you crouch over his body and begin carving away thick chunks of meat, your sharpened teeth making short work of them. As you eat you feel energy flow into your body as you eat more and more, attempting to fill this void inside you

Speed.
>>
>Speed. Agility and general reaction/evasion and movement related stuff improved.

As you eat you feel the Masters presence in your mind, directing the energy you consume to your body. You twitch and groan as your muscles shift, tendons thickening and lengthening as the bone structure shifts slightly. Your eyes sharpen and become clearer, your perceptions sped up to a inhuman level. Your fingers lengthen, nails extending and thickening into short, sharp claws as your body finishes shifting into a newer, leaner form.

You stand and shake off the wooziness, The Masters presence leaving your mind as you sling the unconscious man over your shoulder, grabbing the dead Smuggler by an ankle. Youve got a long way to go.

Fug.

Thanks for running senpai.
>>
>>1620235
Wait, so how much does that give him? +1 to speed and evasive related rolls? +2?
>>
>>1620244
there are no stats that we see, just the will of the GM, and the merit of our decisions.
>>
>>1620252
I know, but I'm curious. Curious to see how much our upgrading is actually affecting things.
>>
>>1620254
Speed upgrades lower the DC for evasion and reaction along with raising the dc for your opponents evasion to your attacks. Also it decreases the likelihood of you encountering trouble in your travel to places.
>>
>>1620727

Cursed just a quick question, how the fuck do your vampires work? I've seen feeding heals their wounds enough to leave no scars, and can't go into sunlight, anything else to add?
>>
>>1620732
Piggybacking since I'm new to this quest
>>
>>1620732
Vampires are basically highly mutagenic undead. They can direct the energy they consume to fuel their own growth in nearly unlimited ways. Wings, extra limbs, superhuman strength, skin armored with plates of bone, perfect imitation of a living human, etc can all be accomplished with enough food. Sunlight, Holy magic, silver, blessed steel, fire, all of these will fuck your day up due to your undead- ishness.

Your minions, as literal extensions of your will and blood, contain the same weaknesses and mutagenic ability. They follow your orders without question, incapable of the slightest disloyalty as long as you don't stretch your reserves (Create more than you can handle). They can adopt highly specialized or basic forms and if you wish you can graft tissue to them to create an Abomination for a highly specialized undead.

Thralls and other minions can operate in daylight without repercussions unless they are spotted in which case they are quite obviously undead unless you cover them up properly.

Living minions can be created by going further down the domination tree. They will be able to function without giving themselves away as long as they don't do anything anyone would see as odd.

Hope I answered your question!
>>
>>1620752
Any other vampire restrictions? Invitation, counting seeds, garlic, running water, home soil in coffins and so on? Do we need to be decapitated and staked to kill us or will just one be fine?
>>
>>1620752

Well, the more I know. So what kind of magic is there besides necromancy, holy magic, and I can guess elementalism?
>>
>>1620773
Right now the list Includes
Necromancy
Domination
Illusion
Destruction(fire/Lightning/etc)
Plague
Elemental
Blood (Fleshcrafting and Creation of other vamps come through this)
Infernal (summoning demons and using their abilities)
Divine (not as unavailable to you as you may think)

That's my current list but feel free to suggest a school of magic and ill add it.
>>
>>1620769
