welp this has been an eventful few days, first off you learn you have the Big E in you. then you disappear for two weeks while traveling in the warp.

also the clown mentioned something about being part of some big jest or something. guy is weird so that could mean anything.

Finally since it seems we are in real space we have arrived at our destination.

Now then, welcome to guardsman quest
>>
alright quick and dirty, this quest is not for die hard lovers of cannon since fun and shenanigans beat cannon for the most part. Though I will accept info about the warhammer 40k universe general rule of thumb is fun is king here

you decide to check on the psyker loli that is holding your arm. "Terisa, how have you been?"

the psyker loli is quiet for a bit before she looks at you and states "About fucking time."

"where did you learn that language."

"you."

"fuck."

Drauge and Mirasi start laughing as Mirasi gets up and your stomach growls fuck you are hungry. "lets get you some grub, inquisitor." Mirasi states hoisting you up and dragging you to the mess hall.

you grab a tray and help yourself to some food, bland and mushy just like you are used to.

"hope you don't mind the normal soldier grub, I know it's not wine and-"

"enough Mirasi, just because I'm back does not mean you can unload the sass on only me."

"fine fine."

the psyker loli refuses to let go of your arm and begins to eat using her psyker powers, kicking her feet happily.

"she really likes you." Drauge states "almost as much as machine spirits like me."

"you mean the toaster spirit." Mirasi states grinning at Drauge.

the conversation devolves into Drauge trying to cover his embarrassment and Mirasi enjoying messing with him.

you quickly finish your meal and think of what to do.

You look up at Drauge and cock your eyebrow at him "Drauge"

"Not you too inquisitor."

"no I was going to ask about my armor. Did you get what I wanted done."

"Right, Yes I did get that done."

"I want to see it and for you to tell me exactly what you did."

"I promise not to bore you with too many details."

you, terisa, and Drauge get up and leave the mess hall as Phe'nia uses her psyker powers to bitch slap Mirasi before she can start on her case

as you walk through the halls Drauge stats "Alright so I was faced with a problem with how to upgrade carapace armor, I did not want to compromise your flexibility or encumber you. So I began looking at Clinks of all people and studied how his armor fit together, with that information I decided not to have each piece as a solid part but instead layered plates. this increased the durability and how much it could withstand......" Drauge drones on and on with the uniqueness of his design and how it could revolutionize how armor is made if he got it to his boss or something.

eventually you get to his room and as you look in you see your armor displayed on the wall "Can I put it on."

"yes, actually do it now I must see how it fits."

you don the armor and you notice it's not any heavier but a lot more flexible, you also note extra pockets and hooks to put extra ammo and grenades. "it's perfect Drauge."

"your welcome Inquisitor, I live to serve." he bows his head.

you look at Drauge a bit skeptically, "what else did you add in the armor."

"nothing."

"Drauge, you are the crazy mechanicus on the ship. You honesty thing I believe that."

"fine fine, I added some extra systems to the armor, muscle reinforcement systems. think of it as discount power armor. Not as strong as the real thing but you should be able to punch though a concrete wall with ease."

"and you decided to hide that why?"

"because I wanted to surprise you in the field when you accidentally punch someone's chest in."

"that could end really badly you know that."

"eh acceptable losses."

you shake your head at the cogboy, the man is good at what he does but god damn he is stupid sometimes.

you flex your arm but you can't really tell a difference, alright time for a stress test. "Drauge set up some things I can smash, I want to see exactly what this armor can do."

"Right" Drauge responds as you leave towards the training room, seems it is becoming one of your usual haunts.

as you enter you notice several slaves were setting up some slabs of stone for you to hit and a particularly large one was holding a wooden club. "Inquisitor we are here to assist you in stress testing your armor."

"Alright first off," you walk up to one of the stones they had set up and cock your arm back then swing forward using your whole body's momentum, you suddenly hear a mechanical whirl, your fist crashes right though the rock with almost no resistance. Damn drauge your armor designs are scary.

you turn to the other stones and summarily smash though them with more or less the same difficulty.

Finally you turn towards the big slave "Swing your club at me,"

"Inquisitor."

"do it." as you say this the man does a full swing right at your chest, as the club connects you are pushed back a step and the club breaks, alright Drauge gets a raise and a new toaster next time we find one.

you look at the slave a bit before smiling, "Alright slave what is your name?"

"Slave number 3278, Inquisitor."

"so no real name... alright I'll give you one."

"Names are unneeded for slaves."

"well I'm giving you one.... how about Von. Simple so you dont have to thank about it much."

the slave only grunts a bit and nods at you.

after this you have the slaves clean up the mess before leaving the training room. as you walk though the halls you realize Drauge has disappeared and Terisa is holding your arm again.

Damn she must really want to make sure you don't disappear again.

you look down at Terisa and then drop to her level so you can look into her eyes you note that they are a light pink color, again you are reminded that she is albino, and ask her a simple question "Do you have anything you want to do?"

the girl cocks her head thinking a bit before looking at you and uttering one word "Bath?"

"I can one up that, bubble bath." you rub her hair with your free hand before getting back up and taking her with you towards Phe'nia's room, she wont mind you using it.... right?

as you arrive at Phe'nia's room you notice the door is open, odd Phe'nia usually locks the damned thing, also you note a bit of steam in the room.

you shrug guessing Phe'nia must be taking a bath herself and joining her probably wont piss her off.

you and Terisa enter the room and close the door, both strip and enter the bathroom. your heart nearly stops as you see the insufferable blue bitch sitting in the bath with bubbles all around her. she opens one eye and grins "well never expected you to have something like this on your ship, I'm impressed."

you reach for your bolter that is not there well this is going to end bad.

You ignore the demon in the tub and get in with Terisa, the psyker stays as far away from the demon as she can while you relax. "So Terisa, how did you hold up since I disappeared."

"bad." she responds giving the demon glares.

"You dont want to ask how I handled those two weeks? I feel ignored." Thera pouts in the tub as you continue to ignore her

"well I'll help make up for that, you want to go planet side?"

".... yes." she states finally relaxing in the tub, the bubbles help.

you and the other two in the tub continue to relax before Thera pipes up "Soooooo where did you go for those two weeks Simun."

you ignore her until the demon grabs your arm "Stop ignoring me damn it!"

"Terisa you mind throwing this demon somewhere that will take a while for her to come b-" before you complete the statement Terisa's eyes spark with blue lightning and Thera disappears, damn that was quick. "Alright that was quick."

Terisa smiles at you before sinking into the bath.

you begin to submerge into the bath, now the blue thing is gone you can finally relax a bit. Terisa starts splashing a bit but aside from that just sits content in the bubble bath.

a few minutes pass and no mental yelling from blue girl so you guess she was thrown really far away actually that gets you wondering "Um... Terisa where did you throw that demon?"

"Stinky place, warp." she responds simply and since you know little about the warp and since she seems to only respond in about three words you let it go.

about an hour later you hear Phe'nia's door open "ALRIGHT WHO IS USING MY BATH WITHOUT MY PERMISSION!"

you call out to the annoyed Eldar "Well a demon was here first but we kinda booted her out, and now we are enjoying the bath, join us."

you hear Phe'nia start yelling something that you take as eldar, probably swearing and bursts into the room in full armor... ask covered in some food. "WHO GAVE YOU PERMISSION TO GO INTO MY ROOM!"

"well one Inquisitor, and two the door was open."

"ALSO WHAT WAS THIS ABOUT A DEMON!"

"minor details, just know the water is fine, plus you look like you need a bath."

the eldar huffs but strips and gets into the bath, but still is giving you glares "did you not think to vox me up about my door being open, especially considering this room is technically in the warp."

"explains why Thera was able to get in."

"I said technically, also she should not have been able to get in aside from the door.... wow we have a demon on board. OH SHIT DEMON ON BOARD!"

"Terisa threw it out, dont worry."

Phe'nia does not relax at all "no I don't think you understand the gravity of the situation, a demon cannot enter the material realm without help so someone must be letting her in. No random slave would have the resources or ability to summon the demon so it has to be someone higher up. we have a traitor in our ranks."

as she states that you realize she is kinda right, demons must be summoned so someone on the ship keeps bringing her in... not good.

You decide it's time to find the fucking traitor and blow his head off, or heads if it turns out to be something weird.

"Phe'nia I want you to help me search the rooms, I want this done quickly and I want this done discreetly."

Phe'nia nods grimly as you all leave the bath and get dressed. You enter the hallway and quickly begin your search of each room. several hours go by as you search but you find nothing.

Eventually you all meet back at Phe'nia's room annoyed and worried "Found nothing, you?"

Phe'nia sighs "Ditto, wait what is that on your shoe."

you look down and realize their is a piece of paper stuck to your boot, you pull it off and read it "Beloved brother, continue your work on the oblivious inquisitor's ship, we will assist you in any way we can. Thera shall be contacting you soon with new orders as they are given. The emperor shard will be claimed and corrupted. So wills the chaos gods. p.s. burn this after reading, leave no evidence The Whisperer" well shit.

A good medium-long range loadout with rounds capable of killing a unarmored targets in one shot
We still haven't tried both the eternal blade and wrist blade and going to battle with a weapon you don't know how to use is suicide.

you drop by your room and grab the new armor as well as a few weapons the sniper rifle because you dont even sleep without that thing in your arms, the modified bolter because turning cultists into pulp is useful and fun, and finally the Melta grenades you had Drauge make for you.

all of this plus some stuff like rations, vox, and a few other useful items fits perfectly into your armor. Better thank Drauge for that later.

after grabbing all this gear you head to the launch bay and get in the transport that Akkaz had painted red, and since his logic of red means fast turned out to be true may as well use it.

you arrive on the planet much sooner than you expected and step out to see one hundred imperial guardsmen standing at attention saluting, a regal man steps forward "Welcome to Fenksworld Lady Inquisitor."

"Greetings." you state walking down to the man "You did not need to put this up for me you know."

"Oh but the Lady Vaahkon wished for it therefore we made it so."

"Is there any way for me to speak to the lady?"

"I apologize but no, she currently is attending matters of planet and insuring that the imperial navy of this sector receives the needed materials and repairs."

you nod "well I am here on a mission of utmost importance-"

"That is why I am here," the man interrupts you "I can and will answer any questions you have and provide the items needed for you mission, you merely have to ask."

you smile at the man "Thank you for your hospitality, just comforts are rare these days are they not?"

"yes they are, but we endeavor to try to ensure that you have the easiest time completing your mission."

"very well, I would like to visit the local planetary defense base. I have need of troops and maps."

"right away Inquisitor." the man states clicking his boots together and saluting. a transport drives up to your location and you all enter, Mirasi looking around her self with suspicion. "Inquisitor," she whispers "the thing on my back is itching, chaos is here and in force."

"so that this is a chaos detector now?"

"sort of, it's not accurate enough to pinpoint where but I can tell they are here."

you lean back and start looking around you, normal citizens and defense force from what you see but you know this could go to hell in an instant.

the transport drives away and about an hour later you reach your destination, this place at the least was well respected, no dirt on the walls, guard standing at attention and no smell of piss.

you get out and look up, your jaw drops as the person exiting the building to greet you is Kali, your old commissar. the arm she lost now replaced with a metal limb "Welcome Inquisitor."

"KALI!" you shout and give her a big hug

"Um... who?"

"It's me Simun!"

"BULL SHIT!"

Mirasi pulls you two apart "It's him, lets leave it at drugs do strange things to people."

"wow you climbed like hell in the Imperium. but on to business, what do you need."

"I need maps, also I would like to inspect your troops."

"very well, I'll prepare the maps for you. just meet me at my office once you are done inspecting."

as our old commissar walks away you vox up the ship "Inquisitor to ship, come in."

"I hear you." Phe'nia's voice comes though

"Phe'nia any chance that Drauge can get us in contact with the imperial navy to check if the governor is indeed with them, and if they would like to help the inquisition."

"I'll do that, I...... lets leave it at I found something disturbing."

"vox not secure enough?"

"yes."

"alright we will talk later." you shut off the vox and head into the base.

you begin listening to the rumors of the guardsmen, since you used to be one of them it was easy to act and look like one, most of it is useless but you hear a few talking about strange sounds from several buildings as well as blue lights. another tidbit, the location changes each night.

>[1] head to Kali and look at those maps, maybe we can have her tell us where the strange lights and sounds are found the most often
>[2] head to Kali's office have her set up a secure connection to your ship, if Phe'nia found something odd you want to hear about it
>[3] keep listening in on the guardsmen, if any are chaos corrupted they will slip up eventually (fel, perx2)

So how long have you been posted here? Get her talking and ask our SoB if she gets any notable vibes from the commissioner...get that sorted first.

Provided she passes the check then
>[2] head to Kali's office have her set up a secure connection to your ship, if Phe'nia found something odd you want to hear about it
In the meantime We listen carefully and learn...we're good at guardsman lingo so they can't slip it by us.

alright writing, so from my understanding you want to find the commissar and get her talking. writing.

you decide that though Kali you know from way back not even she is immune from corruption "Mirasi mind seeing if your chaos radar reacts to Kali."

"It's not that accurate but I'll try." with that you head towards Kali's office. while you walk to continue to listen in on the guardsmen.

the mention of lights gets more and more common as you go on until you reach Kali's office. you open the door and see her staring at some maps. "ah you are here."

"yes," you nudge Mirasi who steps close to Kali and peers at the maps. you follow the same and a few minutes later Mirasi pulls back and taps your back

she gets close and whispers "No change, as far as I can tell she is still good."

Terisa tugs at your sleeve and gives you a nod, guess Kali is actually clean on this one. "Kali I need you to do something for me."

"yes Inquisitor."

"one stop calling me Inquisitor, we are friends. Two I need a secure connection to my ship."

Kali nods and you hand her your vox, and fiddles with it a bit then hands it back "Old mechanicus trick I learned on tour, should be secure now."

you open the vox up to the ship and Phe'nia answers "Is this secure?"

"yes."

"Alright, I found something in Drauge's room. it was not something from the imperium or eldar tech. It also did not line up with any tech I have ever seen."

"are you saying Drauge may be the traitor?"

"I'm not sure, maybe it's just a project he is working on but it did not feel right when I looked at it. also I traced the points, all of them led to slave rooms and two of the on board armories."

"keep an eye on the man, I don't want him doing anything without me knowing. Also how did you get into his room."

"toaster."

"say no more."

>[1] alright time to hunt, get the location of where the most lights are located and lets go kill.
>[2] ask Kali how long has she been here, also what happened after you left
>[3] gather troops, head to the hab block where the lights are and begin the sweep and purge

Inform her that a certain squad mate was infact a Deamon (assuming Commissioners know this sorta thing).

>[4] write-in
Observe our targets first then pick them off as they start to leave or are in a situation where fighting becomes difficult. We can pick off a few, interrogate them and find the leaders so when we go full purge we don't miss them.

The Eldar could also be the Traitor......

The eldar wouldn't consort with deamons and she was the one who noted that Terisa was summoned, wouldn't be more wise to leave the new inquisitor in the dark as to how a deamon appears inside the gellar field?
