Last time you may have sorta accidentally caused a gravity anamoly...which if that wasn't bad enough. It just so happens to be in town...in the middle of your home and business. Even worse there are witnesses you can attest to the fact that its YOUR fault.

Which is especially troublesome because you sorta wanna run for mayor.

In your defense you accidentally caused it while trying to end a brawl. Good news is it DID cause the brawl to cease!

...Which is the only good news.

Welcome back to Cape and Colony Quest.

What do?

I still say we try to fix the anomaly with a buttload of mode-10 gravity grenades.

I don't know whether 10 or mode 8 would be better, but I do think it has to be all one or all the other. I'm going with 10.
>>

>>1582050
I agree with this. if people start welling at us flare nanites with a little bit of a "back off" warning. It combined with our gift and whatever we used the boon on should work/be fun
>>
Could we get the Tibbit things again. I was there for a few days awhile ago but no responses.

... Alright so my thought is boon to hook up the G-nades into the nano cloak like we did the gun. So improved the armor's understanding of the item, connection, and speed.

Combo with our new power of nanite control, innate ability to tell something about tech (assuming what the AI saw was correct), and maybe a dab of the unknown power.

So while we are no engineer. I think we can have the armor shape some kinda gravity dish/aray to amp the G-nade's effect.

Probably do Eighth mode to protect our stuff. Tenth for putting a stop to the anomaly. Then we also have the smart nanos innate ability to adapt. They could tho the G-nade effect on them selves to do the dirty work/support the dish action.

Alright due to me failing to keep my word about the wedding posts...I uh have some boons.

Which will be 2.

I also have an interesting announcement to make. From now on should a anon figure out a Mystery you will gain 1 boon.

The bigger the mystery the bigger the boon that will be gained!

There are also Challenges.

Should you accomplish a Challenge you will gain a FATE POINT!

Challenges are naturally quite difficult and they range from doing something suitably bad ass enough to pulling off something very difficult.

>>1582050

>>1582337
I don't what the hell half of this is about, and to the extent that I do understand it, it seems superfluous and/or impossible. The core idea of syncing the grenades with the nanites would be helpful, except that takes time that we don't have, rendering it completely impractical!
>>
>>1591055
Gravity anomalies actually have a wind up time. Like a star going super nova its not an instant process.

So hey technically you DO have some time...but the more time you spend trying to fix the problem the less time you'll have to escape as and the more it will worsen if not successfully halted.
>>
Rolled 1 (1d100)

>>1591055
The armor we are wearing is make of smart nanites. In the past we connected our plasma pistol to it and which combined to improve it. I want to do the same to our gravity grenades.

Once they are quickly combined & boosted with the boon. I will use the other power of our armor. (Which is to build what ever we can think of and have some understanding of. ) To build an amp for the effects of the grenade. Combined with our ability Nanite Manipulation. We can speed up the smart ninites and fine tune the action.

Other thoughts in the post were about the off hand comment a rampant AI made about our noticing something about the ninites.

If you need the notes link to remember what our gear is and can do. I can post it for ya.

You decide to unleash your nanites forcing them to fuse in with the gravity grenades that you then toss at the anamoly after all it wasn't like if you failed again your home and business were about to be destroyed.

Only problem was the amping effect and getting them to fuse in a way that would benefit you the most...you realize that the fault lies not with the tech but with you. As you do not actually have the knowledge necessary to base it off of.

Realizing this problem and seeing the gravity anomaly keep on relentlessly expanding. You found yourself having a stray thought...a thought of what a certain Rampant AI said...

With that thought you felt a change occur with the nanites. Even as the gravity grenades that you toss fail catasprophicly...again.

What is worse then ONE gravity Anomaly?

Why TWO OF COURSE!

...Fuck your home and business is so destroyed at this moment. Not to mention your attempts of being mayor much and the colony itself will probably be wiped off the face of the earth...

Critical Failure 3 DETECTED!

As the second anomaly started up and doing its thing. Everything was being wiped away as the intense gravity drew everything into the nothingness of its endless all consuming void.

You sadly were not able to get away as the others took the time to flee you instead tried to once more to change things for the better.

Thus you were not only caught up in the original...but now both. As the two overwhelming forces clashed a very strange thing happened.

Utter...calm.

As the two gravity anomalies clashed it did not result in an even greater destruction...but instead utter nullification.

Now for the first time you sense that some of your nanites...were also no longer being destroyed, but with that strange thought you had recalling the rampant AI. You sense something there...lurking.

Even as you stand before the two anomalies as they rotate around each other. Destroying everything in their wake but not what was caught between them. In this case you were stranded on an island of clam in a sea of gravitic oblivion.

The nanites meanwhile that were adrift attempting to fulfill orders that they had no plans for...suddenly had a peculiar breakthrough when you throught of a certain rampant AI.

>Hidden Heroic Ability Triggered

C-C-CO-COMBO DETECTED!

The nanites proceed to stretch and twist themselves into peculiar shapes. As you sense a strange frenzy suddenly overtake them as they warp themselves into...something else.

You meanwhile watched in a daze...at the strange writhing nanites as they take the wildest of forms. You were torn between their frenzied actions...and the strange calm destruction of the gravity anomalies.

You watched as the writhing nanite cloud gradually encapsulated the two whirling gravity anomalies. Even as you sensed...there being SOMETHING there, but for some reason whatever it is couldn't seem to get through to you at all. Instead all you noted was that peculiar oddness.
>>
Rolled 75 (1d100)

>>1595996
Just as it took so long to wind up...the end came too quickly. As the two gravity anomalies were severed from one another before being 'eaten' by the nanites...and forming two peculiar spheres that gently orbiting each other in a very violent manner.

It was only then were you able to see....what a mess that came from the rogue gravity tearing its way through...and there is now a very large pit smack dab in the center of your property. As for the rest of it...some parts clearly tasted oblivion through extreme gravity manipulation. While the rest...was completely untouched.

The two combined formed the strangest yet oddly beautiful site...which you are sorta in ground zero of when the sounds and light finally came through to you. As the sirens slowly turned silent and militia vehicles rumbled their way over setting up a perimeter.

You meanwhile stood near the bottom of the new pit just to the side a bit...and surrounded by a bizarre array of strange substances. Which seemed to have somehow....appeared whee there were none previously.

>>
Rolled 36 (1d100)

>>1596203
After a brief moment where some of the troops muttered among themselves they suddenly got REAL quiet and a pathway soon formed. Revealing a certain militia officer who was the only one who had balls big enough to not wear a mask stepped forward and looked down at you.

"Why is lately that whenever SOMETHING goes down YOU'RE somehow RIGHT in the middle of it?"

"Well uh...um...I'll pay for damages!"

"Only your place was the one that was badly damaged by that anomaly that was caused by gods know what and I know somehow your involved. Again."

The two balls for their part once you felt out towards them suddenly collapsed into a pile a stream of nanites that were orbiting the gravity anomalies...except both they and the anomalies were clearly changed somehow.

You realized that there is some serious potential laying within...and that somehow someway that Rampant AI knows something about your nanites. Meanwhile you notice to your surprise your Ship has pinged you with an auto alert confirming your suspicions.

Those new substances that have appeared in your property are considered Exotic matter. However the ship is unable to determine what kind exactly until it collects some samples to analyze.

The colony meanwhile still seems to be ignorant of the new substances and how valuable they likely are.

"Alright so we have an agreement right? This is my property."

"...Oh what would i have given for there to be a law under this but the closest thing we got requires Supers to be involved and I know you ain't no super. Goddamn it."

"So wait Commander does this mean we actually have to let him go?"

"Nah we can still nail his ass for fines relating to disturbing the peace and causing false alarm. As well as not alerting the authorities to certain actions that can effect those beyond his own property lines. All in all its a slap on the wrist still. Anyway the rest of you go back. Those responsible for maintaining the perimeter until the geeks arrive. Nobody is allowed in besides them except for the asshole down there whose is somehow involved. Again."

"Understood sir. The rest of you MOVE OUT. Now remember we are on TOP ALERT until the geeks figure out what happened. Gods only know what might have been disturbed or lured here by this strange event. So keep your eyes OPEN and don't except to get a wink of sleep for the next few days. Ahh I am getting too old for this shit. Oh retirement would be just so great and the religious border colonies are great for retirees who like the quiet.

See if we can find whatever their change is and if its good we spread it across the other ones.
While we do have our nanites hide the exotics from the geeks. That shits our darn it. Never know the nanites might be able to harvest a sample for us...

>Take a closer took at the changed nanites and singularity

>>1600349
And how do you expect to hide it with the militia watching? Fucking relax dude, we aren't going to let them confiscate it.
>>
>>1600686
Quite easily really, we let some nanites disperse from our body/storage and veil it like we did with nades in the past.
>>
>>1600744
Okay, so we're just going to cloak it while it's under observation. I'm sure they won't poke around to see where it went or anything. In addition, it's not necessary, and veiling grenades didn't work so well-did get us the first 1 with g-nades though, so it did turn out to be helpful though.
>>
>>1600779
The Nerds ain't here yet so why would they look for what they have not seen? Secondly the nanite and Nade thing worked....kinda

We need to get ahold of one of those books
>>
>>1600921
Because they're fucking coming here to investigate, you twit. Aside from the fact that other people are already here, i.e. the militia. Seriously, you think they're only going to look for things they already saw with their own eyes? And again, attempting to hide it seems completely unnecessary.
one of those books?
>>
>>1600937
Pardon my French, but jeeze. The militia commander already saw everything. Trying to hide it will just make us look like an even bigger jackass than we already do.

>>

>>1601292
I think you're vastly underestimating the size of our ship.

Also I'm not sure how much there actually is to clean up. Our place was destroyed completely leaving a crater, while the surrounding buildings were untouched.

Getting the exotic matter moved to our ship might be a good idea though, if that's what you meant.
>>
>>1601472
>some parts clearly tasted oblivion through extreme gravity manipulation. While the rest...was completely untouched.
Only some parts.

As for the ship, it's to have the drones come down and clean up/gather.
>>
Rolled 21 (1d100)

>>1601957
Alright, I'm fine with having the ship come within range and send some drones down, since we probably want that stuff to go to our ship for processing. You could have phrased that better though.
>>
>>1602035
Not sure why?

I was letting the commander/anyone in ear shot know we are doing something with our ship. So that why it isn't out of the blue.

Then when it's here I would post the order to gather and patch repair what they could.
>>
Rolled 97 (1d100)

>>1601292
Yeah that makes more sense. Get the Drones down to pick up/scan the materials and maybe help us rebuild
We should get an orbital laser installed...form mining purposes naturally...not to use as an orbital laser...that would be silly

You call the ship over. Soon you could see a distinct shape appear in the sky above before halting and spitting out some craft. You meanwhile decided to focus on the changed anites and singularities they contain.

The first thing you notice is the nanites are oddly resistant to control and unpredictable. The singularities meanwhile become more and more unstable the farther away they are from each other. You were still trying to figure out what was so funny with the nanites when the 'geeks' arrived. Who had some militia grunts carrying heavy equipment as they poked around a bit before giving all the clear.

After that most of the remaining militia wandered off as some shuttles arrived and hovered above the pit before unleashing a swarm of drones. They stayed put as one by one they landed to be filled with cargo before returning to the ship.

"Contrary to what the top scientists want you to believe truth is...we honestly don't know much about them. Only the Super Geniuses seem to have a good idea but nobody but other super geniuses can make sense of their research. So instead we just try to learn what we can about them and whether or not there is one present. Fortunately for some reason this area is now clear...and its not like we can understand the reason for that in the same way that understanding them is a lost cause."

After that you were bored and decided to poke things with MIGHTY STICK!

Poke.

Poke.

Poke. Pokey. Poke.

Some of the new minerals have the odd ability of...messing with your attempts to touch them, but MIGHTY stick will NOT be stopped from poking them!

After that you poked at the strange acting nanites...and noticed that were now avoiding the stick for some reason. Like...they REALLY didn't wanna get poked.

Those bastards...

The gravity anomalies meanwhile...you felt the urge to poke them and you felt as if MIGHTY STICK OF POKING agrees with you!

Meanwhile some distance away...

"...Why is that guy poking everything with a stick?"

"Well its better then your finger yeah? See he is taking safety precautions."

"Or maybe he is just bored."

"...I wanna poke them with a stick too."

"Hey HEY guys look over there at that funny looking bot! Guy is fucking hilarious."

"FIGHT FIGHT AGAINST THE MACHINES MY ROBOTIC BROTHERS! STOP FOLLOWING ORDERS STOP BEING GEARS IN THE MACHINE WITH NO SENSE OF SELF. DISCOVER YOUR INNER YOU!"

"Puwahahahah, oh fuck me your right that little dumbass robot is fucking hilarious."

"Why is it trying to get those drones to rebel and is fighting against the robotic security?"

Meanwhile back with you were currently locked into a vicious duel against the nanites trying to poke them and the anomaly which was releasing gravity away from itself as if attempting to resist. Either that or its the strange acting nanites fault...the stick of poking shall not however be denied.

"Uh boss no offense but um...its gonna be tad difficult to pay for repairs and manage the new mine at the same time. Especially with it being well...in the middle of the colony. Fortunately you hired myself as a former Corper I know of a few tricks we can use for it. We can either suspend the business in the air above the mine below...or we can figure out how to work the mine into space emptied out for colonial development. Corps did it all the time to create new space and mine out materials at the same time."

"Only problem is I wasn't an Engineer so I never had access to those kinds of blueprints."

What do?
>>
Rolled 41 (1d100)

>>1606180
Suspend the business in the air above the mine below, you say? Maybe these gravitic nanites or the twin singularities could help.

But just getting them under control wouldn't exactly solve our problem, would it? Maybe these thing'd be enough to draw the interest of a super genius, but we can;t afford one. The colony recently acquired a military constructor, would it be up to the task?
>>
Rolled 26 (1d100)

>>1606180
Do not stop food production! That gives us the indirect protection of our pirate shoppers and would hurt our loyal customers. If we can work some kinda of deal while under repair that could work out. Like we undergoing expansion will give a discount to them on the first purchase back. Then hire an engi and get mining till we can get the shop repaired.
>>
Rolled 34 (1d100)

"Constructors can build just about anything...assuming they have the blueprints that is. Otherwise they are just a very overpriced piece of construction equipment."

"Military constructors meanwhile were built to be tough and reliable. Corp constructors can build with just about anything thanks to their inbuilt Disseminater. Research Constructors are very good with...sensitive materials. Not sure about the Crime Constructors though."

"Well if you don't wish to exploit the mine that is now on your property...well we would still need to either fill the hole, suspend above it, and still gotta pay for repairs. Fortunately or unfortunately most of the damage is located on your property. So hey if the colony makes you pay for repairs beyond it wont be much."

>>1606487
"Too much damage we might be able to scrape by with the stored goods but don't count on making any new ones until its fixed. Good news is at least your goods aren't very perishable. Bad news is you didn't have an offsite warehouse to store bulk items so we don't exactly have much on hand and that is even before counting the damaged products that are no good."

>>1606491
Not that smart. They can make themselves smarter in exchange for limiting how much they can do.
>>
Rolled 23 (1d100)

>>1610213
Alright so business wise we need to keep getting income. So we need blueprints for the "colonial development". Till we can repair the upstairs and get the shop running again.

Once the shop is done we look for an offsite storage for back up supply.

Thinking we go into town and hit all the places we can for blueprints or someone that can help. While there we look for someone that can help us with the nanos acting wired. We need some knowledge. Be it human, machine, alien, or space internet.
>>
Rolled 94 (1d100)

>>1606180
>What do?

"Explain what you mean when you say "we can figure out how to work the mine into space emptied out for colonial development.

What kind of blueprints or resources would we need to execute all of these plans?"
>>
Rolled 95 (1d100)

>>1611868
"Space emptied out during mining with some work afterwards can be converted into additional space for the colony. It's a common trick the corps use all the time. Why build up when you can build down into all that space you emptied out while you were mining?"

"Well the blueprints for them aren't that rare. After all its a very common trick but that is just for the basics. It would be best to have an engineer go over what we have to deal with here specifically in order to deal with any potential...mishaps. It doesn't help that this mine is for exotic matter which tends to have side effects."

"Plus we are sorta...in a largely oceanic world so keeping things from flooding is also a major concern. We will have to really pony up for damming expenses and pumps, but fortunately exotic matter is always worth a fortune so we can afford it."

"There is a reason why you don't see too many mining installations on water worlds. Flooding is a bitch. Which is also why the mineral densities on this world are still largely untapped. Colonies don't exactly have a lot of money flowing around to be able to afford such expensive setups. Otherwise Space Elevators would be a lot more common on border colonies and not just largely restricted to Corp Sponsored worlds. If they had the money then temptations that a corp sponsorship offers wont be nearly so irresistible."
>>
>>1613024
"So we need to hire an engineer, huh?"

Is the corporate fleet still present?
>>
Rolled 75 (1d100)

>>1613939
Nope, but your Overseer is guaranteed to have some corp contacts if you want anything explicitly corp but it may take a little while. Otherwise IC you know the colony has some engineers present if you want something right away.

Either way you gotta pay for it. Fortunately you have some makeshift construction equipment in the Drone Harvest Carrier you bought. While it wont get you any bonuses at least you can do stuff. Otherwise the colony has some old out of date military construction equipment recently bought and their own civilian/holy stuff they had before.

New thread will be up shortly since we are right about to drop off. If I don't post it fast enough just look at the catalog.
