/qst/ - Quests

You struggle trying to move the metal shackle that squeezes your wrist tightly, no give. Your eyes burn from lack of sleep and your leg muscles are cramped from being locked into place on this transport bus. Nearly a year ago the Authority captured you and stuck you in "The Box" a prison for the most dangerous criminals. The facility got damaged in an escape attempt so here you are on your way to Box V.2 or some shit.

The guy next to you snores lightly, how he manages to sleep with these burning lights above you is a mystery. You lean back and think about how jail time gives you a rare opportunity to reflect. The Authority is a group of 'heroes' who handle crime deemed too dangerous for the normal police, in a way it's an honor to have them dropped on you. Honestly though, was it necessarily needed for them to help stop a...

Mass murder, at least that's what the news called it. You spent weeks scouting out the Junior division of the Authority, some street level brawlers looking to make a difference in your city. You got in easy and left them a little reward for their efforts. The building went up in smoke and flame, only one of them with a special suit survived the initial blast, couldn't have been older than 18. Wavelength floated down on you as you finished the tougher of the 'Power Pals' with a knife through the chestplate, not being equiped to fight a Sonic Superhero you took the smart choice and let yourself be taken in.

You smile thinking about the event, why four super nobodies warrants an Authority response is beyond you but what's done is done. You look around the bus eyeing up your compatriots in conviction, one guy has skin that looks like rock, another has blades under his skin, and the one in front of you is a literal monster coming fully equiped with melting flesh and bone protrusions. These guys are the real deal, you just took out a couple street vig punks and you get here? You wonder how you'd stack up with your abilities some weirdos blade arms versus your...

You think about how his sword arms would handle a few good ounces of good plastic explosive, maybe an acid spraying gun to eat through the metal? Ha, or even reverse magnetic gloves to shove those stupid blades back into his arms. You didn't realize all this time you've been thinking you were also staring.

>start a fire
>in the enclosed space of a vehicle
>with you sitting right next to it

That's a fine way to get smoke-inhalation or straight up burned.
>>
>>1550708
Also it would be slightly difficult to start a fire with our hands and feet locked into place. But where there's a will there's a flame.
>>
>>1550708
It's also a fine way to stop the bus, and spend the first few days of our prison experience in a medbay. That place where they keep electronics and chemicals and drugs.
>>
>>1550717
If we steal from the medbay, do it as late as possible and give them less time to find out that we stole things.
>>
>>1550717
This is also assuming the materials on the bus as a whole aren't fire resistant. Which considering where it's taking us and what the contents of the bus usually are it's a safe bet they don't burn easy in case there are dudes who do fire things.

Or they just have a fire-retardant foam system in place.

>thinking the medical ward of a supermax for supers is any more easily accessible to resources as any other part of the prison

We'd still be locked down, just in a bed instead of a cell.
>>
>>1550717
I can pick up what you're putting down. Which is why I wanna figure who is limited how. If flesh melter, or rock guy aren't as bound...we just need to assemble the pieces, then knock em down.
>>
"I'm sure you'll be free sooner than you think, in fact maybe here in less than 5 minutes if you listen to me." You say quietly

"What are you thinking, Mr?"

"Not important right now, these bracelets they have us in. Yours must not be metal if you're able to move your arms at all. Position your arms over your head pointing towards the back of your seat. You'll have to bend pretty low or try very hard to get your head beneath your forearms but the pull of the magnets will pull the blades out and into the seat disturbing the circuits of the electro-magnet letting you cut through the plastic toy on your wrists."

You say this slowly and clearly to make sure he doesn't put a blade through his own head. He nods and sits back. You see the veins begin to strain against his neck as he slowly lifts his arms over his head and gets into a position that reminds you of earthquake drills in grade school. The blades shoot out and you hear some crackling along with some shaking from him as the voltage travels through the blades into his body. A few heavy breaths later he slams the penetrated wrist shackle over his knee snapping it. He's free.

>Quick, try to cut me free!

"No time to celebrate yet, Sharp. Keep your head down like you're still locked up." You whisper angrily

He stops his rise and settles back into the seat positioning himself to cover the holes in his seat. He does have a brain of his own, good to know. You start to look around the bus when you hear sword arms speak up.

"I like that, call me that."

"Pardon?"

"Sharp. I like that name."

>>
"Hey, Goo-Ball." You whisper

"Ughhh" the thing groans back as you see two bloodshot eyeballs float to the back of its head and they float lazily looking at you

"I assume you heard my chat with our friend over there?"

A severed ear floats inbetween the eyeballs. A real comedian.

"I'm going to find a way to get you out of, whatever this is." You say as you examine the clear film that covers him, it appears to be some sort of material like a biosuit to keep him contained. The film has a port at the top, like a sort of vacuum suction point.

He groans again. This one feels likenit has a question mark on the end of it.

"Just give me a second to think." You whisper

>Sharp, get over here and pop our friend out.
>We can talk about this later I need time.
>Guard! This guy is leaking through his suit!

This. Vaccum pumps have all sorts of structure problems.
>>
>>1550868
Popping sounds like a really bad idea, ever see a balloon pop? now imagine that's full of acid and we're right next to it. If melty can force up towards the pump, maybe that can fuck with it.
>>
>>1550856
Get some friction going to create a temperature difference on the seat and then stick the port on top of the bag on that spot. Heat should create negative pressure for when he tries to pull away and it'll suck some of him out. Basically wiggle like a motherfucker and put your head on the seat. If that doesn't work he could always try to get the port on top stuck between the seat and the wall or anything nearby, like a bar or rail of some sort and pull in the hopes of ripping it. Has he tried slamming his head on the floor?

kek. They have him in a goddamn airtight freezer bag.

"Look, if you can create some heat on your seat and get that seal on your head up against it. The heat can draw out some of your uh...body. Can you do that, do you have any..parts to use to create friction?" You ask

You see a few fingers press against the bag and resist the urge to gag. You watch as his 'fingers' slide down and his suit shifts and crinkles so the vacuum tube is pointing towards you. You hear the sound of rubbing and eventually the vacuum seal dissappears. You wait anxiously and the vacuum seal returns to its position and you lie back thinking of what else you could do until you see it. A small trail of lightly corroded metal leadong to something the size of a toy car, a small lump of what appears to be melted flesh, it balls up and a small tentacle sort of limb emerges and..waves to you. Jesus christ what are these things.

"Hide out until I get our last friend out, maybe try to burn through my leg locks while you wait?" The meatwad forms a tiny thumbs up and falls off the seat in front of you and slaps onto the floor.

You turn and speak over your shoulder.

"Hey, Rock man. Can you talk?"

"Yes." The voice echoes from inside your own head

You take a moment to let some pain pass from the mental intrusion.

"What are your restraints like?"

"This shell you see. Is not my physical form. I have no form of my own, I am trapped within this one."

"How can I get you out?"

"You cannot, until this form is broken I am trapped by the magic embued in it's runes"

Magic? Voices in your head? This just got a lot more confusing that you could have thought.

>Meatball, can you burn through our friends stone?

>>1551064
I'm just thinking, if this is an array of runes, perhaps targeting one with fuck the others. This is magic and so is possible-dormammu. Gotta do some info gathering. Also melty may not be able to stretch that far.
>>
>>1551052
The rock itself isn't holding him, but the runes, then? Maybe have Melty divert a little of his free goop to slip over and disrupt a few of the runes on the rock to see if it weakens the binding on GhostyMcTrappedFace.

If that fails we could have Melty weaken one particular spot on him until it's mostly soft and have Sharp just stab the shit out of it when we initiate our sudden escape after it's not so tough rock.

But if it really, really fails we could pry the magnetic components out of Sharp's seat, start them back up again but reverse the polarity on one so they attract to each other and then have them slam into the rock-shell. But that would take way too long for just suddenly busting out.

I think the rock is just regular rock you'd find anywhere. The runes I'd imagine are either carved, or drawn. If the rock is hollow, they may be on the inside WITH him. Otherwise, all you'd really have to do is knock it over or scratch the runes to disrupt them.
I say this on the idea that runes are traditionally fragile things that have to keep their specific structure in order to function.
>>
>>1551108
If the runes are on the inside, we must simply find the correct spot to Crack the shell to get to the contents within. Like a eating crab.
>>
>>1551125
By we finding the spot I mean not-dormammu.

You feel a slight burning on both legs and flinch only to find, your legs are free. Meatball has eaten through your leg restraints and dear god. The wad of flesh is the size of a small dog.

Again you almost gag. But you hold it back once more.

"Go work on any symbols you find on our friends rock suit back there will you?"

The meatwad rolls beneath your feet, the squelches are horrendous. After a few moments you hear some light sizzling and the voice in your mind.

"Thank you, friend. I do not know if this will free me but the effort is appreciated. I will conquer your mind last."

"What do you mean by that?" You ask, more curious than frightened

"I am merely contained to this one form. I once maintained hundreds, my influence cannot be stopped. No mind is powerful enough to reject me. You and all others on this vessel will make fine drones." The monotone is gentle now, less pain.

"I do love a challenge. Perhaps it also isn't the best idea to take over bodies that are literally leaking onto the floor as we speak." You say

"Perhaps not, but your pet has already freed me. And it is too late."

You feel a blinding pain in your head and watch as a light purple mist floods from behind you and towards the front of the bus.

A guard notices and pulls his radio.

"ALERT TO AUTHORITY, BOX TRANSPORT HAS A BREACH. I REPEAT WE.." He is cut off as the mist invades his nose. His eyes turn a dull purple and he frees his gun before putting it in his own mouth and pulling the trigger.

"What the fuck is going on back there!" Yells the driver before he too is invaded by the miasma and he throws his hands to the side. Flipping the bus.

You watch as Meatball flies past your head splattering against a man with scales two rows ahead. He screams as he's consumed but it's drowned out by the exploding glass and crunching metal. Then darkness.

You wake up quickly, your head ringing and most people around you are dead or unconcious, your feet are free but your hands remain bound. Pushing up on crushed glass you feel blood running down your head and arms. You sit up and begin to look around when you notice the purple mist slowly spreading towards you.

"All your choices are basetd in science and logic, it is simple to understand."

"Then why do I sense a struggle to override my mind."

"There is no struggle, any perceived failure is only a trick of the mind."

"How can a mind you control play tricks?"

Silence.

"I feel you moving now, the Amygdala. Emotional center of the brain, how curious."

"What is this trick?"

"No tricks, Miasma. Tell me what you've found, my friend. What emotion drives me, what emotions are deep in my psyche?"

"Nothing."

"Exactly. Now get the fuck out."

You allow the pain to take over. It feels as if hot iron is being pressed through your skull but the only screams you hear are from Miasma. A few minutes of white hot pain and your vision returns to you, you are staring at the bouncing ground. You lift your head and see the fleshy slop of Meatball rolling behind you. The problem with this is that you need to flesh out the motivations of the MC whilst still somehow making him seem relatable. Its much easier to show this in small bites between lines than in whole monologues, so that it falls on the reader to interpret the MC however they want.

perhaps young MC was so intellectually superior that he had, in his head, derived most of the endless variations of his reality. At least the most probable ones. In his head, young MC has alerady lived his life of a lawyer, an engineer, etc.

>>1551646

So what is the game plan for right now?

We need to find

>Clothing
>A Place to lie low
>Easy to get to several different areas

I would recommend sewers. One of us is an Eldritch Horror, and we can find an abandoned train station and hook up to the power grid to at least get cozy.

Afterwards, food and clothing are primary concerns. Robbing a supermarket is a bit too high profile, but robbing food trucks or going to soup kitchens is a good alternative.

Then, I dunno. Visit a local library or get in contact with local mob bosses to get some contracts out or start grabbing territory, or playing one against the other and getting pieces to ourselves.
>>
>>1551646
I honestly think it should Rogues call as he's the one running this weather he wants us to be a relative low power villain or a full blown Dr DOOM/Luther type is really a matter of his ruling

That aside Our owlman shennanigans in a hurry go powered setting could have lead to a psychotic break because of the mental strain of the math as opposed to my own low power sociopath idea

Also Rogue get a trip for secruity purposes
>>
>>1551687
Sounds like a good plan of attack considering our current needs, as far as clothes are concerned I'd suggest a suit if for nothing more than appearances sake and a look of control in future dealings.

Sewers will also likely give slime a good camouflage unless I'm mistaken
>>
>>1551687
Sewers are actually not the vast underground you think it out to be. Most of the time there only specific exits to the sewers, and 90% of them are locked entrances to latrine plants. Also smell. Also electricity.

I suggest we go to the subway tunnels. Basically the sewers but with a much MUCH greater access to everything (closer to power and shops as well as being steathly enough to go under the radar. I mean honestly the sewers will be the first cliche they check.) and also doubles as a quick fare-free getaway.

Up to you anyway OP
>>
I'm going to be leaving these major choices up to you, as well as just how genius our unnamed MC is. I like to run quests by being the guy to take your concepts and run with them, it is most definitely you guys and not me in control of the story and your own limitations. (Unless you want to do something retarded like "reprogram this remote control into a bomb" without the proper equipment.)

My only reluctance about using a tripcode is that I have dynamic and constantly changing IP and would hate to be locked out of my own quest with nobody knowing I was me.

We like a bit of mayhem and murder though. We're not always very subtle. Think of it this way, when Miasma attacked us he found no emotional drive for what we do. We do this because we can and get a kick out of it. Ever watched the show Hannibal? I feel like we were probably a bit like him. Taking efforts to be seen as normal, until we just decided to cut loose. Maybe we were tired of holding back, when you constantly look at people and things and see how they can be torn down and destroyed probably gets real boring.

"What's the plan then, boss?" You hear Sharp ask.

"Lets get to the city, the most likely have a few flyers out looking for us, so we stick to the cornfield and stay low. Understood?" You end your sentence by sliding into the cornstalks

Sharp follows and you hear the sizzle of digesting plantlife when meatball rolls in.

"Shrink down or stay on the road, can't have you leaving a trail." You say without looking over your shoulder. You hear a low groan and a much smaller hissing sound.

Good boys, they follow orders.

The sun is finally starting to set as you stumble out of the fields on the outskirts of the city, a large glowing sign welcomes you.

"WELCOME TO PARADISE, NY" The sign comes complete with a mom in summer dress and father with cocktail to drive the 'we cant let go of the 50's' feeling home. Here on the outskirts there are a few boarded up Mom and Pop shops, a half burnt down library and a gas station with a nice Convertible fueling up.

You're used to being a bigger fish in your pond back home in Toronto, but it looks like they brought you from your pond. To an ocean across the border. So it's time to get big, or get eaten.

What's the first step?

I wasn't thinking of it as a pseudo-multiple personality as much as, the criminal business is his day-time job whereas the mayhem and killing sprees are his warped perceptions of having fun and unwinding. Like someone who plays vidya games after work, but in this case his thoughts of a vidya game are plotting out the bombing of a bank and getting away with it.

But you have to take it from the investigators point of view.

1.) Establishing who is there and who isn't.
2.) Direction where people have fled.
3.) Time of discovery of the crash.
4.) Manpower Available.

An average person can travel at least 5 miles an hour in a leisurely pace, or 40+ miles in a 8 hour day traveling. Given that the investigators do not know where we have traveled, that means that investigators have a search area of almost 5,000 miles to cover within a day. Now, they can limit that search area by looking at towns or areas of congestion where people are likely to congregate, but I do not want to do the cops job for them by announcing that we have fled in this direction.

If we can stay free without notice for about 48 hours, we are basically free at that point and can do whatever we want. And given that the bus crashed in the middle of bumfuck cornfields, they likely will not have the manpower to cover all 5k miles in a day.
>>
"Follow me." You head towards the gas station, determination in every stride as you close in.

You hear a loud guitar solo coming from the nice car some kid, probably an early 20 something trust fund brat, is strumming the nozzle like a guitar as he returns it to the pump.

Another car is on the side of the building, an old brown pickup truck.

"Oh shit man didn't...see...you...there...jesus christ." He says, you watch the color drain from his face as he gazes over your shoulder

Meatball tried to follow your lead and you see multiple, have eaten teeth forming a smile and the eyes are back as well. Brilliant.

You know a lot of acids aren't reactive to plastics, Melty may be stronger than your average acid by a few hundred magnitudes but it can't hurt to try to get him a nice cozy container to carry him in and stop leaving a trail. Pour him in a gas jug leave the lid popped and he's traveling in style.

Plus it'll give us a great excuse if someone asks why we're walking looking all weird. Just say we were bringing gas back to our car and jiggle the jug a bit for some slosh, then if necessary toss Melty out on them.
>>
You pop the trunk while Daddy's boy deals with his sore throat. A car emergency kit, it'll do.

You get the length of rope and give the Larkin youth a solid cross to put him out for a while. A few sailor's knots later and you heavy him into the trunk.

Meatball rolls back looking as disappointed as a large ball of sentient flesh can, truck must belong to the clerk. You take a look and see Sharp leaving the gas station in a pair of jeans and the attendants blue and white shirt. He's eating a churro, truly a professional.

You look him up and down and he shrugs.

Gas station food, yum. Avoid the sushi.

Bash the register up and smash some shit, make it look like a struggle. A common botched robbery. Take the cash, naturally. If it weren't for the busted up glass door thanks to Sharp I'd say we have Melty take care of the evidence and make it look like a weird disappearance after we scrubbed the place but Sharp went a little too HAM. And get rid of camera footage if they have any cameras floating around. And smash the cameras.

>>1552244

>>
>>1552244
>good idea, but of melty is so acid how can a metal or plastic gas can hold him?

It actually depends entirely on what type of acid it is. Some acids only break down organic material. Some only corrode metal. Some literally explode when exposed to air. We just need to find out what type of acid Melty is. It's possible he is non-reactive to plastics, since they had him in a vacuum sealed bag. We know he corrodes metal on contact and absolutely disintegrates organic tissues, which also seems to be at will rather than at random, since he still has bits of people floating around inside of him, like fingers, eyes and teeth and such.

It's safe to think plastic, or treated plastic at least, can hold him.

"Keep the car running, Sharp. Meaty, your with me." You say as you head off to the store. Sharp grabs the keys from the seat and turns the engine before putting on some radio show and reclining.

You and Meat enter through the broken door. The Attendant lies behind the counter in a pool of blood. You hear meatball begin grunting rapidly and leaning towards the body.

"Eat up buddy, we gotta drive ahead of us." You say

He eagerly lunges over the counter and completely immerses the man. You grab a journal and pen off the counter and record the experience. Rate of consumption, chemical reaction signs, anything you can remember you jot down. When he's finished a pearly pile of bones lies on the floor.

"Not gonna finish?" You ask

And the bones too are absorbed.

You grab a backpack off the wall and begin stuffing various chips and bottles of water into it. You also grab a GPS, A survival knife. A keychain of pepper spray and a few lighters. You head over to the limited clothes, find a pair of jeans and a 'PARADISE CITY' t-shirt. You clip the knife onto your waist and pocket the pepper spray and lighter. As you pull out a bottle of water and take a slow time drinking it, the cold crisp taste is ecstacy. You even indulge in a hot dog.

As you take the last bite you hear a commotion outside before the familiar shattering of glass and a scream as Sharp comes through the window sideways and slams into the aisle shelves sending them and many cans of hairspray and other toiletries scattered over the floor.

You look through the now open window and see a man who must be 6,5 and 275 pounds of swollen muscle. You remember him from the back of the bus, he stared at you but you wrote it off as a scare tactic. He reached the door and tears it from its hinge and dropping it noisily on the tile.

He points a massive finger at you as Sharp finally stands after a struggle.

"I saw you talking to that misty freak. The same freak that caused the crash that killed my baby brother."

You open your mouth to speak but instead dodge a register he chucked at your head that shatters the glass door to the drink cooler.

"No words will save you now, runt. You killed my family. My only family. Now I'm going to rip you apart."

Well this will certainly be a challenge.

Is the pepper spray flammable?
>>
>>1552269
Well maybe if his brother wasn't such a pussy he wouldn't have let a widdle car cwash off him.

So how zany should we get when we take him down? Drop motor oil at his feet when he comes charging in so he slides into the broken glass door and cuts himself up? He doesn't seem to dinged up from the crash, though, so he's probably tougher than the average joe in terms of his flesh.

Maybe fling some lighter fluid at him if they sell any here, then make an impromptu flamethrower out of our can of mace and the lighter, set him ablaze. No matter how tough you are, smoke inhalation is a bitch. Can't breath or see when you're on fire. Can substitute lighter fluid for high-proof alcohol. Just chuck a few bottles of good shit at him which he will probably block because "ooohh tough guy" then he's drenched and ready to light.

Can't think of any quick and easy ways to electrocute him, though.

Worst comes to we can have him step in a puddle of Melty and lose part of his leg then let Sharp get some payback. Hindered mobility is a great way to get killed.
>>
>>1552269
(one chance so recruit him:) I'm sorry for your loss, my friend. That asshole tried to steal my body as well before he ruined everything.
(if that doesn't work try to kill him)
>>
>>1552337
Something tells me he has entered fuckass-mad mode and is going to be too busy attempting to remove our limbs to care even remotely about anything we have to say.

His little brother is dead and it's all our fault. Boo-hoo.
>>
>>1552337
If he was a lot calmer then sure, but he's acting like a mad dog. And we gotta put'em down like Old Yeller.
>>

>>1552971
>"He tried to fuck me as well."
>"MY BROTHER IS DEAD BECAUSE OF YOU REEEEEEE"

That's my hypothesis on how it'll play out. Sometimes you can't talk your way out of a situation. He's being emotional.
>>
>>1552295
Some pepper spray is flammable but it's safer to hedge our bets currently, Is say lure him outside and douse him in Petrol either by having him damage the rig or hosing him in it

>>1552269
Thanks for running rogue I look forward to more
>>
I'd suggest we spray him with petrol and then maybe shove one in his mouth, then Light him up? Something tells me Meatball hates fire.

Sharp should likely stay back as those blades ain't gonna help much.

I suggest this sorta battle plan...

1) The boys run interference while we get outside before baiting him over.
2) The boys fall back when he comes for us and get out the area
3) We blow up the gas canisters and petrol with some matches etc and blow the guy away.
>>
>>1551908
Finally back, shittiest day. Time to read where we left off my favorite homicidal maniac. Also Melty Meatball is still the best.
>>
>>1552337
Yeah no. We already have some good minions and he attacked one for a stupid ass reason. So our actions caused the death of his brother, who cares? Chances are most of us her absorbed a twin in the womb. Lots of dead siblings. Don't see me blubbering and making an ass of myself.
>>
>>1553759
Also anons, we have easy access to bottles of booze, rags and lighters. Molotovs for days. I told you we're gonna burn something down boys!
>>
>>1552269
Thanks for running Rogue and rolling with us going hard in the paint with this evil genius bit. This was a blast.
>>
>>1553759
Maybe Sharps blades won't work on the muscle, but I wonder how well his eyeballs do? Or how well he'd do against Melty going down his throat?
>>
>>1553867
Also, I'm reasonably certain this place contains a fire extinguisher. Inhalation of extinguisher powder is one of it's main dangers. In large quantities (pouring as much as inhumanly possible into meathead's mouth) It'll coat your lung and cause extreme respiratory issues, ergo lots of coughing and trying to breathe. Then enter Melty our secret adorable weapon.
>>
>>1553867
I believe that the main reason that Sharps took a toss through the front window was because the big bad wolf got the drop on him before Sharps could bring out the metaphorical "big guns". Either way let's not rule him out without proof that andre the giant can no sell his blades like he's armstrong from MGR.

Just for Cali, I can run some late night quest if you and some others are here.

>>1553903
And you aren't thinking enough my friend. We don't know his capabilities, we are have been blindsided and we need more data before we can assume Sharp can easily handle a man that has dazed him. I think names like Mr. Wolf are fucking golden.

I would like to see the character portrayed as cold and highly professional, and only prone to emotional outbursts when incredibly stressed or angry. I think it would do well with a sociopathic nature.

Going full blown Yakuza professional mob boss level would be awesome.

I would suggest if we go the business route, we avoid the traditional things like gun running, drugs, etc. We should instead insinuate ourselves into businesses that are necessary for society to function. (trash pickup, plumbing unions, hospitals, police, banking, electricity etc.) We would use a patsy to run the criminal element to have people focus on the overt problems and not the subversion we would be running.
>>
>>1556138

A list of names that i think would be pretty cool to use for nefarious purposes. The character I was imagining would be Ralph Finnes character from Coriolanus, or something similar.

>Mr. Wolf

>Judas
>Tiberius
>Skorne
>The Creeper

I've been reading some things from Genius: The Transgression, maybe we can end up making things like that?
>>
>>1556983
We're on the path to Lex Luthor level intellect. So a lot of crazy shenanigans will be had.
>>
I just hope if we ever get a super-suit we don't just default to brute-forcing problems instead of flinging weird shit at them and SCIENCE-ing situations.
>>
>>1556983

Oh California, time I introduce you and other anons to TRUE SHENANIGANS

https://1d4chan.org/wiki/Genius:_The_Transgression#Automata:_The_Axiom_of_Independence
>>
>>1557031
When we get a suit, we're gonna be smart as fuck about it. There's gonna be all sorts of cool ways to fuck with heroes. Teleport guns, imagine a speedster running at us, boom the ground said speedster is running on disappears as we transported 27 meters of ground into the ocean. Then speedster goes splat.
>>
>>1557048
Oh White Wolf. They make fun games. I enjoyed playing a Sabbat vampire and just marauding through a city.
>>
>>1557031
Our super-suit should be extremely modular in design, mostly so that we can just as easily build an answer to a situation and mount it on the fly. That way the more stupid heroes get their asses handed to them because they think it's a one trick pony.
>>
>>1557069
And fan made too. Cool. I can see our character enjoying katastrofi, at least I would. Since we get to burn this gas station down now! (it was a good idea guys, you should just listen)
>>
>>1557091
One of Iron Man's newer armors took inspiration from the various spiderman symbiotes. Liquid metal like, but can be rigid and large too, adaptive and all that.
>>
>>1557099
It is a interesting concept, although I am a bit wary about wearing liquid metals. Mostly because shit could go wrong off the bat from turning us into a statue of metal to ending up like a less tasty version of Meatball via sabotage from a antihero. Buuuut if We cover our bases and decuple check every step of it's creation then I'll probably be down for a nice looking three piece suit made of liquid metals.
>>
>>1557171
That reminds me of that comic where Ironman's suit shut down completely with him in it after a fight and he screamed and struggled but couldn't escape and he starved to death in his suit.

Which is partly why I want to invent a super-soldier serum on the sly. Just in case.
>>
You know, when we get good enough with our tech I propose we capture eldritch horrors, con demons, and create epidemics and sell the cures for profit.

>>1557095

Let's just not end up like Madder Red

>>1557069

A truly fun world of darkness game California? Mage: The Ascension, may need to change the actual rules but it's amazing. True reality dickery for fun and profit
>>
>>1557193
The suit can be fun for a while though. There's a lot more than that we can do though. I just use the super suit as an idea for a genius type that does a lot of his work himself.
>>
>>1557216
Why bother with creating all that chaos for money? We seem to be more about pitting our considerable intellect and ruthlessness against heroes for a good time, a challenge and learning new and exciting things.
>>
>>1557241
Yep. Our motivations need to be a little more abstract. Not Picasso abstract...just a little abstract.
>>
>>1557260
The challenge anon, always learning, always growing. All to take down bigger and better targets. The whole reason we got sent to super prison was because we merked 4 low level supers and then got blindsided by a major player. All it took was a bomb and a knife too.
>>
>>1557241
The problems of being objectively mentally superior than normal people.
>>
>>1557278
I'm not saying money is useless, I just don't like that being a goal. It's paper. Just a means to an end.
>>
What if our suit had was interchangeable like iron man's? Have the big bulky suit, then after the lengthy draining battle, the heroes have gone through all of our tricks, they've finally got us into a corner forced to fight in a melee, our suit is finally busted beyond repair and they think they've won only to have a come out with a second sleeker suit under the heavier one, just as strong as the first. They look on their faces would be amazing.
>>
>>1557441
If the battle took that long to get to our superior suit, it took too long. You just wanna do the whole this isn't even my final form bit.
>>
>>1557472
>>1557441
To be honest, if we're doing a fuckton of fighting it means that we dun screwed up somewhere in the planning phase.
>>
>>1557288
Yeah. I would picture our guy as a Frank Underwood when it comes to money. Money is a means to an end and shouldnt be confused with out true goal.
>>
>>1557478
That's exactly what I mean. Either you fucked up your plan, or you're playing with your food. The fight should never take so long that they're drained blah blah...either they bring their A game and we crush em or it's just ego masturbation.
>>
>>1557483
I mean hell, the other anons want a broker, banker type villain. We could make androids to replace people that have lucrative positions, mutant cordyceps fungi that makes people our slaves, etc.

Priority if we take a junkyard is to get some industrial tools and actual artisan tools rather than the sort of shit you usually find in a garage at a yard. Well, not including any crane they may or may not have depending on the kind of business they do.
>>
>>1557779
Snoozefest. Petty shit. Waste of time, time which could be spent gaining a territory of our own, funds, weapons, materials.
>>
>>1557779
no not sadistic, be bored. unpredictable. our only virtue is we never break our word. play chess for someones freedom. experiment upon another for comforts of the others. see how far they will go for another

M8 We're no mere joker in the deck.
>>
>>1557776
We have the kid tied up in his own trunk. Marinate on that.
>>
>>1557786
Shouldn't be a problem if the bank heist ends up working out.
>>
>>1557779
Right now we are still kind of on the run from any investigating supers checking out the crashed bus and possible stragglers from the bus who also have beef with us like BeefyMcSmallHead who threw Sharp through the window.

No real time for being a sadist. MC doesn't strike me as a sadist either.
>>
>>1557795
Sounds like that's more time spent away making things that explode and kill capes.
>>
>>1557808
True, but we do kind of have a kid tied up in our new car, we should probably get that over with before go into hiding.
>>
>>1557783
So use the kid to get to his dad. Once we get inside we spank the rich guy,rob him of all of it's money. Tie up all the people in the house maybe leave meatball to eat people up in case the dead doesn't go along. Then rob the bank knock out the dad or kill him and leave meatball eat one or too employes. Just so people know we aren't kidding.
>>
>>1557815
Naturally. Can't have some pretentious daddy's money fuccboi screaming as we try to escape, after all.
>>
>>1557816
I suppose. Depends on if Melty's digestive system, does it devour for sustenance as well as fun? How much does it require? Will dissolving give Melty more mass? I'm all for a bit of murder as long as it either pertains to useful science that can be weaponized or it's just plain more expedient to shoot a fucker.
>>
>>1557816
*in case the dad doesn't go along

I should always check my post when i'm posting from my phone.
>>
>>1557816
We shouldn't be performing any crimes that'll imply something unnatural. So no letting Melty eat people with witnesses or leaving any trails. Hell, if we can get Pops to open the vault without raising a fuss then take a bunch of cash out the back before taking him back home and killing him and his son it would be the optimal solution.

We want to be quiet and precise right now.
>>
>>1557823
Rather than ransom, what if we just go to their house and hide out till dad comes back from work, get all the info we need from him about the bank, then take care of them and clear out the house. Seems a lot easier than a ransom. Ransoms are lengthy and we have a limited time to get back in to hiding, remember our 48 hours of manhunt aren't through yet.
>>
>>1557779
No fun in it, anyone can torture rape and murder a family it's basically serial killing 101

there is no challenge I mean we're basically a big game hunter where the game is super powered humans
>>
>>1557833
Quiet and precise. While we're being attacked by a 275 pound muscle villain and will most definitely blow up a gas station.
>>
>>1557835
As long as we get some cash quick and quiet we're golden.

>>1557833
Yeah you are right i was thinking more of the horror shock that people will have once they know we have pal that can literaly dissolve you. But Sharps blade are as effective then melting.
>>
>>1557816
Hoebstly just kill the dad and his kid or have melts eat them so they go "missing" since it's ultimately better to not have witnesses or a trail to follow as w're still not out of the frying pan yet
>>
>>1557840
They can't tie the gas station exploding to us and won't have any reason to really suspect our involvement. They'll know a gas station exploded but they won't know anything else. The fire will take care of all the tissues and all they will find is the skeleton of a tall man. If he doesn't have fucked up bones, anyway. They'll probably assume it's the remains of the clerk.

It's actually pretty okay to blow this gas station up.
>>
>>1557852
Hopefully he has a gun. I mean he's a rich man and most rich people have a sidearm or a weapon collection.
>>
>>1557838
Speaking of Superheros, We should get a list of all the who's who for heroes whenever we enter a population center. That way we'll figure out how tough a operation will be depending on wether or not the suckers can bend time or no sell explosions.
>>
>>1557862
Sure normal authorities might not be able to tie it to anyone. But supes? also it's walking distance from the bus crash site.
>>
>>1557795
>>1557800
>>1557808

Not that, I propose we be no Joker. We'll become our own version of Darkseid. Once we get to a more global scale I propose we expand our horizons:

Enslave alien races, make our own personal pocket dimensions of torment to make AM shed a tear of joy to put particularly stubborn capes in, sell superpowers to the most depraved of depraved people and let them run wild and cause a clusterfuck of problems for capes, conning any demon who thinks they can pull a fast one on us, build a collection of powers for us to have and then go to killing god-like beings, keeping Cthulhu and company as pets.

>>1557857

Yeah, slow and steady wins the race. Then once we got a good base, we pop up and get to business

>>1557871

Maybe
>>
>>1557862
Nah man if we blow the gas station it may attract more supers. Were aren't prepared to face capes right now.
Besides blowing up a gas station may attract more powerfull supers.
>>
>>1557862
They can tentatively considering it's down the road from where the bus crashed so it's not a huge leap in logic to think something went down

But yeah as long as we take care of any actual evidence that can lead to our involvement being brought to light we should be good
>>
>>1557810
it is but let us understand our inferiors phycolagy to be better prepared
>>
>>1557878
We don't know what investigative capabilities the Supers have. They could have a psychic or a guy who can see through time. But then there's the idea that those people might be somewhere else, or they don't exist. We can only work around what we -know- right now. It'll be suspicious, but it won't be automatic red flag to put them on our trail.

Which is why we keep moving further regardless.
>>
>>1557871
We could probably build a flamethrower with parts at the gas station and cars if we wanted, probably no time though.
>>1557880
I kind of want to be joker though, not as the face of psychopathy or crazy gimmicks, just in the sense we do shit for the fun of it, for the challenge. No real goal in mind, just do what we do cause we can.
>>
>>1557880
if we can do it I'm for it
>>
>>1557880
I'd rather stick with Joker over that business. Can't stress enough how boring this whole lord of suffering bit is.
>>
>>1557891
Our goal is to challenge and kill capes. An anon earlier hit the nail on the head calling us a big game hunter.
>>
>>1557894
same, it we could do it but if we did I'd rather it be more of a joker/darkseid Hybrid, less like a nonfunny all business overlord where you bow or die, but when you're so desperate you'll come to us. You know how insane we are but you also know we can get things done, like making a deal with the devil.
>>
I know it's kinda silly but here me out...

We just leave, steal one of the many cars around and just drive the fuck away
>>
>>1557885
Why spend time on our inferiors psychology at all? Inferior means low, junior, minor. Beneath our interest. Boring.
>>
>>1557900
I like that we hunt capes for the challenge of it, who else is going to give you the most thrill than the champions of the world? so yeah I'm all up for making the main focus of the game hunting heroes.
>>
>>1557891
We could but we just don't have time to spend. Don't forget Wavedick is a super sonic hero so being fast is essential
>>
>>1557891
>I kind of want to be joker though, not as the face of psychopathy or crazy gimmicks, just in the sense we do shit for the fun of it, for the challenge. No real goal in mind, just do what we do cause we can.

THIS! THIS right here is has been the idea of why we are a cape killer because we find it fun, not because we want to change the world, or rule the world or make lots of money or have sex with beautiful women or really even hate capes

We like killing heroes that's it nothing more nothing less
>>
>>1557882
>>1557884
Any crime is going to bring more flak, and this gas station is going to get fucked up in this fight. It's inevitable. We just need to not be here when anyone comes to check it out.

Response time isn't instant, after all. Otherwise they would have caught us the moment that guard tried to raise the alarm, since he did get enough of that sentence out to raise a stink.

>>1557880
Random torture is a bit too much. It serves no purpose. MC is so far motivated more by killing supers than watching things suffer. He didn't flay the super in training when he had the chance after we walked out of a burning building, he just straight up shanked him to death. Then surrendered when a real Super showed up that he couldn't handle.

MC is very much goal oriented. His goal is to kill supers. Torturing them for the sake of torture doesn't further that goal.
>>
>>1557917
We also like the science behind this crazy shit too anon. Figuring out how all these amazing things work and then killing the shit out of em.
>>
>>1557910
We have to get past tiny first. We also need money. Money basically dropped in our lap.
>>
>>1557913
they out number us, know thy enemy and then thou hast the means of victory. besides its inresting how far someone will go for love
>>
>>1557927
I mean I guess to a lesser extent, I assume it's just the intellectual excercise of it and not total mad SCIENCE! Of it all
>>
>>1557910
That's a good plan but we need to hide from the capes for a time. We can't outrun then just hide. When the supes hear about a super villan prison transport was busted. Depending of who was inside it. And judging we got mind taking smoke and melty from it some decents supes might show up.
>>
>>1557917
Not even necessarily just heroes, anyone with enough skill to give us a challenge would be great. Arrogant crime boss thinks we're not giving him enough respect on his turf? make us. Ancient demon wants to take our soul? Love to see how that turns out. Super advanced aliens invade and demand our surrender? Oh look at all the new toys they brought us, and so many new specimens to dissect too!
>>
>>1557932
I'd love my time back from reading the edgy psycho stuff going on in this quest.
>>
>>1557936
Remember we aren't the only ones who got away, smokes is likely of high priority given his nature and tendencies
>>
>>1557938
That's the spirit anon! We should look a bit more on the positive side of life. While we get shit done of course.
>>
>>1557922
So long we blow it up as faraway as we can i'm fine with it then. I'm more worried about tiny causing the explosion by accident while figthing us.
>>
>>1557941
no one but a fictional being can do that, ask the most common of these things..god
>>
>>1557952
Yeah, that would be a big pile of dicks if that happened. We might want to keep him away from the pumps.

>>
>>1557938
>Arrogant crime boss thinks we're not giving him enough respect on his turf?

Dime a dozen and too numerous to not be a pain in the ass barely worth mentioning on the scale of capes if we messed with one more of them would be hot on our ass

>Ancient demon wants to take our soul? Love to see how that turns out.

Only if they mess with us and it's a bit on the fancy side for me personally

> Super advanced aliens invade and demand our surrender?

I mean sure but the Authority is going to be hot on them and we are going to have a LOT of enemies in the authority as a whole
>>
>>1557945
Fact i forgot smokey was more in taking over minds and not blowing stuff up. Guess we can get awaywith blowing up the gas station to cover our tracks.

Maybe Mr.Wolf's deal is we're a big game hunter on safari, we might rob/beat up a thing or two but only the ones that catch our attention are worthy of the hunt...the watching, learning and finally that divine moment of the kill when all the pieces fall together.

Equally given our mind and ability to solve problems we could remain small and elite in our operations, we're the villain other villains go to when they want X "taken care of".

We steal information and run on mass extortion with it, allowing us to only need force when dealing with supers. We're that person that knows everything and has a plan for everyone, step into our club and ask a question...but pay a price

>>
>>1558229
Hostages are a delicate thing.

We need to put ample research into who we're kidnapping to do some nasty stuff if we're gonna play up the smart-villain.

The friend of a friend of a cape, for example. They wont think we're gunning for them if we take someone like that, and we can whack 'em with a trap by surprise. The friend of the cape would ask them to look, we plant some "hints" on where they are at a decoy location (spread false word, leave items that relate to the trap spot, etc.), then butcher them by hitting their weak spot.

Taking the cape's friend, and they'll arrived pissed and either ready to fuck shit up or get fucked up, which is a huge gamble.

Otherwise, we should research into POTENTIAL hostages, and look into their connections and schedule. That way, they can be a resource to us if the need ever arises. Daughter of the mayor, a police chief's sister, the mayor / police chief themselves, something like that. Oh, and we should buy the appropriate supplies. Zipties, cuffs, ropes, locked rooms, the works.

We're incredibly lucky we have Melty to dispose of bodies. Otherwise we'd either have to cut the parts and bury them in a small, vertical hole, or melt them ourselves with chems. We may be supervillains, but we still gotta lie low for the time being. They'll just as well send The Authority to take us out again once they find our location.

I still think blowing up the gas station is the smarter option here after we're done. Think of it this way, since this place is so banged up it's obvious there was a conflict of some sort. Because the cash register is where it is now and damaged as it is we can't put it back and expect no one to notice. It'll be visibly damaged since cash registers nowadays has plastic casings. This one will be damaged even more than dropping it would damage it since it was thrown by a very, very strong dude. So it's clear it wasn't a normal thug who came in and robbed the place or something. A smarter investigator (or a crazier one) would probably put two and two together that someone incredibly strong came in here and started some crazy shit. Since this is within the immediate search area for the crashed bus they can then safely assume that the big guy from the bus whose body is not present escaped and came this way. If they don't find his body here because we, say, fed it to Melty, that means to them who don't know Melty ate him that he went this way and they'll expand their search to find the strong man. If we leave his body all mangled by Sharp or ourselves that means another person from the bus took him down, since a normal person probably couldn't, and if they did they would report it to the police immediately so they'd already have the killer accounted for but no one called it in so that rules that out.

Meanwhile, if we blow this place the fuck up while leaving the body to burn it can explain why the place is busted up, and why the cash register is way in the back with the fridges while still making it seem like just a freak accident. They'll have an unidentifiable body (at least initially, assuming they have dental records of this guy they can use that but it would still give us ample time to GTFO without suspicion) which they'll likely attribute to the clerk and we can get out of the search area more easily by making look at least on the surface that no one from the bus made it out here.

Naturally they will find evidence of Melty in the fields coming into town eventually, though, so staying here isn't viable. We really need to get a way to transport him/her/it anonymously.

>>
>>1558694
I like it I suggest we do this by having Sharp get outside and start sutting the fuel lines so everything gets soaked.

Melty gets the fuck outta dodge, if I've learned anything Fire counters "The Thing". So Melty Secures an escape around back hopefully while we (since we're the target kite big boy around until Sharp has done his bit). We then Kite him into and and hose him with fuel.

Then or the finally we throw a match which we used to light a cigar we stole from our current location to blow him sky high even if we are somewhat in the radius. Let Mr muscles over there look into the eyes of a mad genius as his body acts as the shield protecting us from the blast.
>>
>>1558759
We don't have time to build said laser. Guns are usefull when you don't have time to build death machines and you want to scare or take out some normies.

Besides i think it would be easier and faster to make dragon breath bullets. Or napalm bullets then build a entire weapon with our limited resources.

"Look, why dont we both calm down and just discuss things. Tell me about your brother."

His face goes a deep crimson.

"You dont get to talk about him, I'll tear your fucking throat out!" It's almost more a primal roar than him yelling at you but the effect is the same, you feel your arm hairs stand on end. How exhilarating.

"Matter of fact, I think I'll use your head as a piñata. Or maybe I'll start at the knees."

You crouch slightly and start looking around for any weapon be feel a hand on your shoulder. Sharp looks at you.

Sharp rushes the not so friendly giant and begins jabbing with his blades. Tiny streams of blood pour out of his massive chest but the blades seem to be unable to make deep penetration. You watch as Sharp recieves a backa hand that sends him sliding back before he rushed in for another flurry of stabs.

You duck behind the shelves and approach Meatball.

"Meatball, I need you to go after that things legs." You say

Meatball quivers and remains unmoving. The adrenaline turns off upper reasoning and you put a hand on meatball.
You realize what you've done and grit your teeth but only feel the warm and slightly gross feeling of raw hamburger. Good to know.

You shake off your hand and speak gently to Meatball.

"I know he's scary, but he cant possibly hurt you. If anything his punches will hurt him more." You say

Meatball ceases his quivering and slowly begins rolling towards the giant.

S'why we are leaving as fast as we can once we get the chance. We want to be as far away from the heroes when they arrive as possible. In the off chance that one of them recognizes us, while unlikely it's still possible. Sharp and Melty are instant outs since both of them are visibly not normal.

We did change out of our prison bus clothes, though.
>>
Oh melty is a cute.

You grasp each bottle by its neck as you fling them violently, you watch as bottle after bottle smashes into his head and blood and alcohol begin mixing and pooling beneath him. You fling the eighth bottle and shocking he catches it by the base and smashes it into Sharp's nose. You hear a crunch and double check to make sure you didn't step on a bag of chips.

Sharp holds his nose and recoeves a violent jab to the stomach and is tossed to the side. He begins marching towards you when you see meatball fly out from behind the broken register covering his legs. He screams and drops dow. Pounding the pile of loose meat is fruitless eventually through his screams he swipes his large meaty hand through most of meatball and fastballs him into the wall. You watch his body explode and start sliding slowly down leaving unpainted wall behind.

You takes a few minutes to pick off the remaining blobs of acidic meat, you see portions of his skin are completely gone and you only see the solid chords of muscle in his legs. You only have a few moments before he realizes he has unfinished business with you.

He gets up still dripping alcohol and breathing heavily. He begins a slow march towards you again and you pop the top off the can and get ready.

You hop out and back into the station. You head behind the counter again and go to the working register, open up pump controls and put fifty bucks on both, that should cover it. You grab a jerry can and head out the doors. You take a few minutes to fill it up and whistle a jaunty tune, fire always brought out the best in you.

You cover the interior of the store well and grab three beers and head back out. It already catches inside on the dead body of Denzel. You take out the lighter again and light the ground.

"This is Charles Vendome with This Week In Paradise: Later this week the weaponized science convention will be stopping by on their world tour to introduce their revolutionary invention. A gun using regenerating crystals as ammunition. In other news, the first bank of Paradise is offering fifty dollars for new accounts made, this promises hundreds of new customers and deposits for the bank. Finally fashion designer Vandel McDallery comes to Paradise to show his new line of clothing titled: "Suits for the safeguards" a new suit designed for protection of private security and military emissaries. That's what's happening this week, in Paradise. Now back to our top 100 summer jams."

"What's the play then boss?" He asks as he pops his nose back into place.

Everything must appear relatively normal until we get inside

Have sharp drive the car into the garage
>>
>>1561892
Most likely the father will be expecting his kid to be back.

Knock on the door, get him 'ere. Keep the kid in the trunk for now. Tell Melty and Sharp to stay out of the peephole's sight if he decides to use it.

Then take him out once he opens the door.

>>Politely knock and speak to the owner

What excuse will we give him for driving up in his son's car? "Hey, your kid got absolutely shitfaced. Said to bring him home but we were in the middle of the sticks so no cabs."? How do we play this off?

I don't think the owner will answer the door, it''s a manor so it should have butlers.

Hello, we're three escaped super villains whom along the way of escaping just saved your sons life from another villain. He tells us your a Banker? now now relax we are not going to rob you, oh no I think we can help one another out here...I hear a rival bank is having a bit of a publicity stunt coming up...I think we can help one another...

(We trash that event making their business crash and in exchange we get to hang around. Secondly now that he has done this we have blackmail over him forever. We use him until we have enough money and contacts to take over or fully induct him into our own evil empire. If he talks why you don't know we have a bomb in your kid...oh we've been in this house awhile? Thats unfortunate as we've now got all your computer stuff...I bet the Heroes would love to see this...)
>>
>>1562715
>Hello, we're three escaped super villains whom along the way of escaping

And now he wants nothing to do with us. Also I'm pretty sure the bank doing the fifty bucks thing is his firm or whatever.
>>
>>1562741
How else do you intend to explain meat and given him been a banker he is definitely not clean, he is definitely not friendly and above all we can kill him right there right now.

Once inside we hijack the phone lines and mobile signal from the house so if he calls the cops or hits a panic button it comes to us.
>>
>>1562771
We break in first. Then you can sabotage whatever phone lines you want. Meat acts as a way to dispose of anyone that might catch us intruding until we can properly take over the house
>>
>>1562771
We politely tell the man we are taking care of his son after a drunken night out and he had a little too much to drink and tell him a friend of ours is driving the car, his son said too park it in the garage and if he'd be so kind too open it so we can

that way meats and sharps can get in with minimal security camera footage outside the house, once in we can commence hostage taking and security wipe of footage and after that potentially ransack the house
>>
>>1562771
>How else do you intend to explain meat and given him been a banker he is definitely not clean, he is definitely not friendly and above all we can kill him right there right now.

Well first of all we shouldn't be showing everyone Melty. Because he freaks people out. Secondly just because he is a banker does not mean he is a criminal or an asshole. Those are both assumptions. He can be 100% legit, and a genuinely nice guy. We have to figure that out first.

Now if you want to know what I would do in his shoes if you showed up with three supervillains I would nod and say okay, let them in and let them do whatever, then I would go to work and immediately call the cops and tell them that three escaped supervillains are at my house holding my son hostage and to call The Authority. Or I would pass a note to a trusted colleague instructing them to do that.

If you can't assure loyalty or fear you shouldn't leave people alive. If he thinks for even a second he has hope of saving his kid and getting us locked up or killed then he'll try something and it'll fuck up all those plans.

Right now our biggest concern is to get into the house with no fuss and raising no alarms. Flat out stating you are a big-time villain is not how you do that.
>>
"Sharp, get the kid out of the trunk. Make sure he stays unconscious and untie him, set him up in the front seat like he's sleeping. Then you and Meat both go hide, anyone sees you take care of them quick and quiet and have meat dissolve them." You say bluntly before stepping out of the car.

You straighten up your shirt and get ready to approach the door.

The kid is slumped over peacefully on the passenger door, the cheek with the massive bruise being hidden that way. You walk up to the large oak doors and pull back the knocker.

After a few moments the door opens and an elderly man in a suit answers.

"Can I help you young man?" He asks shakily

"Why yes I need to speak to the owner of this estate." You say with fake charm oozing out of you like syrup

He adjusts his glasses and answers.

"I'm the owner of the estate. What seems to be the problem?"

"Sir, Is this your vehicle and child? He was rather drunk when I found him and he asked that I bring him back here." You say stepping back to let him look at the car

He walks out with his silver cane and takes a look before sighing deeply.

"That is my grandson. Unfortunately." He says

"Well is his father around?" You ask curiously

"Yes, he's in the house moping around most likely." He says with obvious distaste

"Moping?"

"He was fired today, sent his kid out in his car to give him time to figure out how to tell him and the kid takes the chance to instead get wasted and worry his dad sick on top of everything else." He scoffs and waves a hand dismissively towards the car

"Bring him inside for me would you?" He asks as he starts walking back to the house

Fucking Imbecile. Cash aint worth shit to a supervillan. I'd much rather secure the house as a FOB than some paper. We can hack the rest. I mean srsly, short-sighted thinking deserves to get PencilWicked

You think on the old man as you go back to the car and heave the kid over your shoulder. That cane he had, pure silver with a blue S on the head of it. He couldn't be.

You remember stories of when Paradise had a villain problem before the Authority got its foot in the door. One of the real old school guys was Silver Scourge, used to fly around in a silver power suit and more toys than the CIA, he turned in his suit and surrendered to Authority once they got their base set up in the city. After that he fell off and disappeared. No way this old sack of bones could be him, but then again you are traveling with a pile of liquid flesh.

You step inside and feel the kid wriggle a bit. You drop him and he hits the floor with a thud and low groans. You walk through and look at a large wall in the living room covered in photos, of banks, jewelry stores, and more than a few armored trucks. You chuckle, the old coot has a trophy wall on display.

You hear it too late. The squeak of the kid's sneaker as he gets up and starts running.
"GRANDPA!" He screams as he runs wildly.

Honestly shouldn't drink anything in the first place. Very possible he'll just slip us something he's built a tolerance to so he can drink it just fine. Shenanigans.
>>
You let the kid run and keep examining the wall. Before long you hear the high pitched whine of something behind you.

"Silver Scourge, I was a big fan, ya know." You say turning around

He holds his cane like a rifle, the end slowly spins while a small ball of blue-white energy rests on the tip.

"You one of those Authority freaks? Threatening my family again to make sure I don't take the suit for a joyride?" He says angrily

You smirk. "Not quite. Like I said I'm a fan, I am curious why you gave up the suit, the fear, the power you had over this city. And honestly. I'd like to get a taste of it myself."

He scoffs

"Another up and coming villain, you think kidnapping my grandson would impress me?"

"No, I had no idea who he was. Happy coincidence that was. What I can tell you. Is I've faced off and killed supers before, and I escaped a super prison transport bus outside of town. In my employ I have a man with swords in his arms and a living pile of acid. If anything, I want access to your resources and assistance." You say smugly

"And what could possibly be in it for me?" He asks

"Simple. Help me get enough power, and I could turn the Authority into a bloody smear on this cities history."

He thinks for a moment, the cane blinks, fully charged. The whirring drones on and you see him think hard on his decision before he puts the cane down and you hear the high pitch die down.

"I'll get the boy to bring your friends in. Let me show you to my workshop."

(Last post for today boys gotta work a midnight shift again. Hope you enjoyed! Next time it will probably be in a new thread, not sure yet but if it is link will be posted here.)

Hey, Goblin managed to seem like a normal guy for a while. And could put on a normal person front. For all you know this guy is bonkers.

I think he just mellowed out over the years and all the time having impotent rage since he had to give up his suit.

But yeah, you're right, he's probably not nearly as wacko as GG.
