>>Information

This quest, as the title suggests, takes place in the world of Dragon Ball. You're playing as a twenty-seven year old man named Tofoo, and will adventure through the story of the Dragonball series alongside characters such as Goku, Yamcha, Bulma, Tien, and many others. Through your actions, you can make significant changes to the story, and perhaps even become the strongest fighter on Earth.

>Rules

At the end of each update you'll have ten minutes to vote on options. Write-ins are allowed, but I do reserve the right to veto them.

In the event of a draw, the option to receive the next vote wins

Rolls will be used on certain occasions, such as attempting a technique for the first time or attempting something extremely difficult. You will have three rolls, and if one succeeds, you succeed. There are no crits.

Rolls are made AFTER an option wins, not during the voting process

I hope everyone has fun.

READY FOR SHIT ROLLS!
>>
As you make your way over the snowy landscape toward Jingle Village, you're surprised not to sense the energy of either Goku or Kori. Those two you'd expected to be training until the last possible minute for what's coming tomorrow, yet their energy seems to merely blend in with that of all of the other people that call the village home.

As you close in, you notice one shape that stands out from all the others; the large, bulky figure of Android Eight makes his way through the village, smiling as he greets each and every person that he passes.

His face lights up as you land just ahead of him, and he comes rushing over.

"Tofoo!" he greets with obvious happiness. "It's good to see you, old friend!"

"Hey, Eighter," you greet your old friend, offering a smile in return. "It's good to see you, too. How have you been?"

"I've been well," the Android assures you. "Things have been peaceful here for quite some time. And Suno has been quite happy with Goku home."

He frowns a bit. "Though, she's also been very worried. She doesn't want anything to happen to Goku or Kori."

Well, obviously. You can understand her worry. And, you imagine Bulma's thinking similarly about you right about now. It's not like these kinds of situations are all that new for your families, though.

"Where are Goku and Kori?" you ask.

"At their home," Eighter answers. "They finished their training yesterday."

"Of course not," Eighter tells you with a smile. "I'm sure they'd all be happy to see you."

"Thanks, Eighter," you tell him. "I want to make sure Goku took his medicine."

"He didn't," the Android tells you.

You look at him in disbelief. "What?"

"Goku never got sick," Eighter explains to you. "And the medicine wasn't a vaccine, it was a cure. Everyone agreed that it would be a waste to use it when nothing was wrong."

"Alright, that makes sense," you tell him. "But I still need to talk to Goku."

"Alright, then," Eighter says calmly. "You remember where his house is, right?"

You assure him that yes, you do, and bid him farewell before making your way to your friend's home. You knock on the door, which is quickly answered by Kori, who greets you with a smile.

"Hi, Uncle Tofoo!" she says cheerily. "Mom! Dad! Uncle Tofoo's here!"

"Hello, Tofoo!" Suno greets, stepping into the living room. "What brings you here?"

"Hey Kori, hey Suno," you greet. "I need to talk to Goku."

"Goku!" Suno shouts, turning toward the hallway. "Tofoo's here to see you!"

"Be right there!" you hear your friend shout, followed by rapid footsteps.

Goku comes rushing into the living room, dripping wet and completely naked. It looks like he's just gotten out of the shower without bothering to put on his clothes.

Kori looks away, covering her eyes, but Suno just lets out an exasperated sigh at her husband.

"Goku, go put some clothes on," she tells him.

"But you said Tofoo needed to talk to me," Goku replies.

"I'm sure it can wait until you're dressed," Suno tells him, placing her hands on her hips and turning toward you. "Right?"

A few minutes later, as you sit in a living room chair with a cup of hot coco, Goku steps into the room, clad in his martial arts uniform.

"Okay, all dressed," he announces, taking a seat on the couch near your chair. "So what's up, Tofoo?"

Actually, how is it Metagaming? Trunks came back in time, told us Goku died of a Heart Virus. It would be metagaming if Trunks never told us, but since he did pushing Goku to take the medicine "just to be sure" is a perfectly legitimate response.

Especially if we're taking the Androids at face value, by your current logic training for them would be metagaming because they haven't shown up yet.
>>
>>1546724
He's saying its' metagaming as we the players know the Super Saiyan state accelerates the propagation of the virus throughout the body. Hence why in DBZ CANON Trunks' timeline he died of it some time after killing Cold and Freeza in a drawn out Super Saiyan beatdown, and didn't die in the 'main' timeline because he didn't really strain while using it until fighting #19.
>>
>>1546684
>>1546688
"So, has Kori become a Super Saiyan?" you ask once you're confident that the child is out of earshot.

"No," Goku tells you, glancing toward the hallway. "I decided not to teach her how to do that."

"Why not?" you ask.

Goku looks back at you. "When I turned into a Super Saiyan, it happened from all the anger I felt when Freeza killed you. At first, I could barely control myself. I had to struggle to keep from losing myself completely."

"Right," you say, waiting for him to go on.

"You've seen the problems Kori has with her anger," Goku tells you. "I'm worried that, if she becomes a Super Saiyan, she'll completely lose control, and then either hurt herself or somebody she doesn't have to. You know how she fights when she gets really mad."

That's true. She loses most sense of reason and fights without thinking. And that's with her just being as she is. With a Super Saiyan's power, that could be really dangerous. In fact, that sounds terrifying; a Super Saiyan consumed by anger mindlessly rampaging and destroying. You hope you never have to see anything like that.

"Well, can I spar with her?" you ask him.

"Well, of course," he tells you. "She'd be really disappointed if you backed out now."

>A. Alright, the usual spot, then?

However, we were told Goku dies of a heart disease. We don't know where or when he gets it, however we're taking everything else Trunks said at face value and we're about to go into a major battle.

"Also dude, take a swig of that heart medicine just in case." is a legitimate response with the current situation as we have been given it.

Consider the following: taking medicine without symptoms can get you sick or even killed. Goku shouldn't take it until he clearly has the heart virus.

Taking supplements when healthy will ironically slowly kill you because you don't actually need it. Same principle applies here.

"It could happen to her anyway just like it happened to you. It's better that she learn to control it from you and your experience."

I mean, don't be a dick about it, but try to get that point out there so he considers it.
>>
>>1546802
>Consider the following: taking medicine without symptoms can get you sick or even killed. Goku shouldn't take it until he clearly has the heart virus.
>Taking supplements when healthy will ironically slowly kill you because you don't actually need it. Same principle applies here.
This actually is metagaming, because you're bringing in outside knowledge that the character probably does not know, instead of making a judgement with that character's knowledge.

Plus, if we're bringing real world knowledge into this, viruses and heart defects can hide in the body for long periods of time without any adverse effect and will wait until the immune system is weakened to show symptoms.
>>
>>1546767
>A. Alright, the usual spot, then?
>B. You think it was a good idea not to teach her to become a Super Saiyan

I actually do think it's a good idea to teach her but I also understand that it's probably better to wait until she's more disciplined and in better control of her emotions. Too bad android saga is probably gonna wreck that.

"I completely understand why you won't do it, Goku... but if there ever comes a time when Kori ever taps into that kind of power, she's gonna need someone to teach her how to control it. I know that we both don't want to ever see what might happen if she loses herself to that kind of rage, but if we let fear of what might be or might not be keep us from taking action, then we'd be left with nothing but pain where there should be light, love and hope."

"I'm ready!" Kori announces, coming into the living room, dressed in a uniform very similar to her father's.

You drop into a defensive stance, waving your hand in invitation to Kori, encouraging her to strike first.

Smiling, she rushes forward. leaping into the air, doing a flip, and kicking at your face. You raise your right arm to block, only for nothing to actually hit you. Feeling movement behind you, you spin around and throw a kick at Kori. She leans out of the way and grabs hold of your ankle before kicking your other leg out from under you and knocking you into the snow.

She keeps her hold on your ankle, thrusting her free hand toward your face and firing a blast of energy that strikes you full-power.

Fighting through the pain, you throw a kick with your free leg, catching Kori in the chest and throwing her back. It doesn't seem to do much damage, and she lands on her feet, but it does give you a chance to get back up.

Kori's gotten stronger, and her technique's gotten better, but you aren't going to let her beat you. You decide to fake her out and catch her off-guard.

As you drop into a defensive stance, she rushes forward to attack once again, only to stop as you thrust your hands toward her and fire a barrage of energy attacks. Caught entirely by surprise, she takes the full brunt of the first few blasts.

Though the blasts clearly cause her pain, she manages to fight through it and muster a defense, swatting the next few blasts aside. But, you don't make it that easy for her. As you continue your attacks, you throw an Electric Energy Blast into the mix, and when Kori swats it, her entire body jolts with a shock, leaving her rather unguarded as you fire a small wave of energy, knocking her off of her feet.

Kori glares at you. "No fair."

Getting back to her feet, she drops into a defensive stance, waiting for you to make your next move.

"Everything's fair game in a fight, Kori," you tell her. "You should always pay attention to your opponents, in case they have some kind of trick of their sleeves. Fighting smart wins battles."

With that, you rush toward her, using the Afterimage Attack to get behind her, and yelling at the top of your lungs as you use a technique of your old friend.

"WOLF FANG FIST!"

Kori spins, and manages to block the first few strikes, but soon the technique hits full force, and you pummel the young Half-Saiyan before throwing her to the ground with a double-palm strike.

Kori growls, throwing herself back to her feet as her energy begins to rise.

"Kori!" Goku shouts. "That's enough!"

She glares toward her father, only to back down as he glares right back.

She lowers her head. "I'm sorry."

"You've gotten a lot better," you tell Kori. "Good match."

She offers a smile in return. "Thanks, Uncle Tofoo."

Bidding your friends farewell, you depart, and make your way home, landing to find Trunks practicing punches and kicks out in the yard while Bulma watches from nearby.

"Daddy!" he shouts before you even land.

As your feet touch the ground, he comes running over, grinning up at you. "You're not training."

"I was wondering where you were," Bulma comments as she makes her way toward the two of you. "Where'd you go, off to visit Goku or Krillin?"

I'm pretty sure it has nothing to do with bloodlines, for all you know trunks could have learned it from kori and konnatsu because they figured it out for themselves. Also Cell doesn't know all their techniques because of DNA, it's because the machine he was incubating in was analyzing battle data and basically teaching cell.

You give Bulma a kiss, then kneel in front of Trunks and give him a hug. "Want to train for a bit?"

"Yeah!" he shouts excitedly, running around the yard.

Bulma smiles. "You two have some fun, but don't go too crazy, you need to rest up for tomorrow."

As Bulma goes inside, Trunks comes running back to you.

"What are we gonna do?" he asks.

We don't want him to learn how to sense our energy only to feel it go out when we job, and flight will be trouble for Bulma when we're not around.
>>
>>1547293

He can already sense energy, but his range for doing so is kind of limited. That's why the option says "practice" not "teach"
>>
>>1547274

>B.
>A.

Learn to sense energy first, so it'll be easier to sense his own when learning to fly.
>>
>>1547288
Wouldn't the basics be, teaching to sense then teaching him to make a ki blast since its teaching him how to channel energy to a point in his body. Making it easier for him to learn how to spread that so he can fly.
>>
>>1547298
Still keeping my answer. We don't need to traumatize our kid. I mean we're basically the full-time job dad who's only around for one meal a day, need to build better relationship for our daddy-issues-in-training kid after this is over.
>>
>>1547293
I don't think we should be teaching a 5 year old the ability to shoot lazers out of his mouth.

Sharpening his energy sense will make flying easier, since he'd have an easier time feeling, and being able to feel it more effectively.

"I'm gonna teach you how to fly,' you tell your son, who looks up at you with wide eyes.

"Really?" he asks, trembling with excitement. "I can fly?!"

You smile. "Yes, after I teach you."

Trunks seems to understand the gist of it right away. He's already able to fire basic energy blasts, so he's aware of his own life-energy, and knows the basics of how to direct it. Flight is slightly more complicated, however, and it takes him quite a few attempts to really figure it out. He takes many a tumble as he hops, jumps, runs and leaps, and so on in an effort to get airborne.

For your part, you're patient and encouraging with your son, but your explanations are somewhat lacking at first. It's a bit of a learning experience for both of you, but as time passes, you both improve.

Trunks stands in front of you, arms at his side, straining his body before letting out a breath. He takes in another breath, looks up at the sky, and slowly rises off the grass.

"Daddy, I'm flying!" he shouts with glee, looking down at you.

He's more hovering than flying, but he's definitely getting there. With a tiny bit of practice, he's sure to be-

You look away for just one second, only to look back and not see Trunks. Searching around for him, you spot him flying back and forth through the air above you.

"I'm flying! I'm flying!" he shouts. "Daddy, look, I'm flying!"

"Yes, you are," you say, beaming up at your son. "You're doing a great job."

Trunks smiles down at you as he continues to zip around through the air, seeming to have the time of his life as he enjoys this new method of travel. His happiness is contagious, and you can't help but smile yourself.

You decide to join him, and rise into the air as well. The two of you spend the next hour or so flying around the yard, playing tag, and just having a grand old time together.

Finally, Trunks tells you that he's feeling sleepy, and you help him get safely back to ground. He lets out a yawn, rubbing his eyes as he looks toward the house.

"Why don't you go to bed?" you suggest, putting a hand on your son's shoulder.

Trunks looks up at you with tired eyes, giving a small nod. "Okay, daddy."

"Come on," you instruct, leading him toward the house. "I'll tuck you in."

The two of you go inside, and you tuck Trunks in just like you said you would, wishing him a good night and leaving him to get some much deserved sleep.

As you walk away from Trunk's room, you wonder what he'll be like when he gets older. The Trunks who came back from the future comes to your mind first, and you wonder if, when he was this age, he was the same as the present Trunks. Will the small Trunks grow up to be like the big one, or will he follow a different path? He seems to like martial arts and training well enough, but you hope he doesn't have to become the same hardened warrior you met three years ago.

"There you are," Bulma says, taking you out of your thoughts. "Where's Trunks?"

My only real gripe with the manga is that Toyotaro does a decent approximation of Toriyama's style, but it's not comparable to any of the really iconic DB stuff.
But that's just a nit-pick.
Otherwise it's a good read.
>>
>>1547785
Not much that's happened in Super that can even come close to comparing to the more iconic moments. Yet. Although SSBKaio-Ken was fucking awesome
>>
>>1547784
to be fair, at least toyotaro actually develops a reason for trunk's healing powers, unlike how toei just gives trunks a quasi-ssb and somehow makes a spirit sword. Don't get me wrong, that fight was insanely cool, but you have to admit it made no real sense. The manga isn't perfect, far from it, but at least it doesn't feel like the anime where half the time I feel like I'm watching an animated fanfic

Again, the most off-putting thing about the manga for me is the fact that it's cleary a digital stylus with low pressure settings versus pic related where it's clearly a fountain pen of some type.
>>
>>1547802
I mean, technically the manga is also a fanfic, and the explanation for the healing powers was really stupid and contradictory to the Buu saga, but yeah, Super Saiyan Rage needed an explanation
>>
>>1547802
But anon. It is fan-fic. Toriyama didn't write anything so you can't call it DB.
yeah that's a dumb reason, sue me

>>
>>1547811
Well no, toriyama wrote the script for it, so the overall story is canon. Whether the manga or the anime is canon depends on who you ask.
>>1547808
Like I said, the manga isn't perfect, and I don't hate the anime, I just feel like the manga does an overall better job. As for the anime, it has its good moments and it's bad moments. Stuff like the Black Goku arc were good overall for me and I enjoyed it a lot. The universe 6 saiyans on the other hand just annoy me to no end because of how much they trivialize goku and the cast's own achievements. Comparing how goku was able to achieve the super saiyan state with all the shit he had to go through, and the how it's a really strong scene, to universe 6 saiyans just spending like 10 minutes just kind of figuring out how to "flip a switch on their backs" without having to really work for it. This legendary transformation that made the emperor in the universe scared, and they just kind of fuck around and figure it out. That's just aggravating.
>>
>>1547806
Yeah I agree with this, have some of the old Goku vs Freeza pages. But to be fair, digital can undo a page-ruining mistake, which saves time on more rushed productions like Super
>>1547815
Was a mary-sue joke, not to be taken literally. But the doing anything right part wasn't a joke. Future Trunks' entire canon existance is a series of continual fuckups, from fucking up the timeline (preventing the Goku v Freza/Cold fight, slowing the heart virus and preventing it from striking when it should) to not even describing the androids' physical features, to jobbing to main timeline 18 and perfect cell, then getting vegeta'd by cell. His whole first life was a stream of fuckups.

>They're more powerful because they don't have tails
When the real reason they don't have tails anymore is because Toriyama got annoyed by having to think of how they would wear clothing with tails in the way.
>>
>>1547842
that whole fight was great. It was where Toriyama was originally going to end Dragonball if I recall correctly. These pages really aged well.

Let's go.
>>
The day has finally arrived.

After three years of arduous training and preparation, the moment of truth is here. Today is the day where you will find out if the future is truly set in stone, or if you and your friends can change destiny and save the Earth from a terrible future of servitude to a madman.

You can't help but rise early, showering up and putting on your martial arts uniform long before the alarm at your beside is set to go off. Bulma's still sound asleep, and you decide to leave her be for the moment, and step out of the bedroom, making your way down the hall, only to be stopped by a small person standing in your path.

Trunks.

"Daddy..." he says, his voice trembling.

He seems to be struggling to find the right words to say.

"I had a bad dream," he tells you, his eyes wet and his voice trembling even more. "You went to the island, and the robot monsters got you, and Uncle Goku, and Uncle Krillin, and then mommy, and, and....."

He begins to cry, and you hold him tighter, trying to think of what to say to him.

Knowing that sending your son back to bed right now probably won't work out, you instead take him down into the kitchen, fixing him a bowl of cereal for breakfast (Bulma gets mad when you try to cook anything for him to eat for some reason). You sit with him as he eats his meal, then take him outside and fly some laps around the yard with him.

This does seem to take his mind off of his dreams for a while, and your heart feels lighter as your son smiles and laughs with you. You feel the urge to protect that smile and that laughter, just like you do with Bulma.

Your wife soon steps outside, dressed in khakis, a red tube top, and an orange, sleeveless jacket over it. When she sees the two of you, she smiles.

"Of course," you answer before asking "What time is it?"

"Eight," your wife answers.

With a little bit of time left to spare, you swoop down and sweep Bulma off her feet, having her join you as you fly around the yard with her in your arms.

Soon enough, however, the fun has to end. You have somewhere you need to be.

"So, are you going straight there?" Bulma asks.

There's no sense in delaying any further. You give your wife a big kiss, then tell her that you're leaving for Amenbo Island.

"Alright, see you soon," your wife tells you with a smile.

You walk over to your son, give him a hug, and say goodbye to both of them before taking to the air, and setting off toward Amenbo Island. It's a decent distance away, so getting there takes some time. During that time, you do your best to avoid thinking of how today could go wrong. But, along with your thoughts, you can't help but remember the dream Trunks described, and worry that it will come true.

You shake those thoughts out of your head. You'll make it back. You promised, after all.

Once you reach South City, it's a short flight to reach the island Trunks described, and you find yourself flying over a rather large city that seems to take up more than half of the land mass.

You hear shouting, and look toward a mountain not far from the city's outskirts, spotting four people standing on a cliff overlooking the island metropolis.

Yamcha, dressed in an outfit much like the one he wore in the desert all those years ago.

Lazuli, dressed in jeans, a black t-shirt, and a jean jacket.

Tenshinhan and Chaozu, dressed in their old Crane School outfits.

"Good to see you, man," Yamcha greets as you land.

"I hear you, man," Yamcha agrees.

"I'm fine," Lazuli tells you. "Except for the fact that I'm going to have to fight killer robots in about an hour."

"You're ready for it," Yamcha assures her.

"How'd training go?" you ask.

Lazuli gives Yamcha a little glare, but he doesn't seem to notice.

"It went great," he tells you. "I can't wait for you to see what I'm made of."

"We've all been working really hard," Chaozu tells you.

"I just hope it's enough," Lazuli remarks, crossing her arms and staring down at the city.

"We'll find out soon," Tenshinhan tells her.

"So, where are the others?" you ask after a moment of silence.

"Goku and Krillin will probably come together," Yamcha guesses. "Not sure about Piccolo and Lapis.'

"I don't know about Piccolo, but Lapis will show up," Lazuli states confidently as she stares down at the city. "He wouldn't miss something like this for the world."

You can hear the disapproval in her voice. Their attitudes toward this fight are vastly different, and you just hope that they can keep their heads in the game.

"Does anybody have the time?" you ask as you find a nice, quiet place to sit down.

"It's 9:20," Lazuli tells you as she takes a look at her watch. "Forty minutes to go."

Closing your eyes, you try to sense for any approaching energies, and detect four far off in the distance. Goku, Krillin, Chi-Chi, and Kori.

Wait, that doesn't seem right. Shouldn't Konattsu be with them?

Still no sign of Piccolo or Lapis, either. You wonder where those two are. Both of them really wanted to take a crack at these Androids, yet they're nowhere to be found. It doesn't even feel like they're on their way.

A sudden noise and shift in the air takes you out of your thoughts, and you look to see a Capsule Corp airship making its way toward the cliff.

"Bulma?" Yamcha asks, looking up at the ship.

"What is she doing here?" Tenshinhan wonders aloud as the ship comes in for a landing.

Lazuli glances toward it, taking her eyes off the city for just a moment as Bulma hops out, greeting everybody with a grin.

"What are you doing here?" you demand.

Bulma smirks at you, placing her hands on her hips as she looks your way. "Because I want to see these big bad Androids myself."

"What?" Tenshinhan asks in disbelief. "Why would you want to see them up close?"

"These things are supposed to be strong enough to beat all of you, and enslave the planet," Bulma reminds him as she looks his way. "Some really amazing technology. As a scientist, I can't help myself. And according to Trunks, Doctor Gero turned himself into one of these things. I want to see what he's become, too."

"You're crazy," you tell your wife after hearing all of that. "But, I love you."

Bulma giggles. "I know you do. And don't worry, once I get one good look I'll be out of here. I'm not that crazy."

"Heh, right," Lazuli laughs.

Bulma walks over to the other woman, and the two start talking to each other, doing a bit of catching up.

The next few minutes pass rather peaceably, until Tenshinhan turns all three eyes to the sky.

"We've got company," he announces.

Following his gaze, you see Goku, Krillin, Chi-Chi, and Kori come in for a landing, each one offering a greeting as their feet touch down.

Krillin and Chi-Chi seem a bit tense, and so does Kori, now that you think about it. Goku, on the other hand, looks completely relaxed and ready to go.

"About time you got here," Tenshinhan tells the four.

"How are you guys?" you ask the four.

"Well, I've been better," Krillin admits, rubbing the back of his head. "I can't believe the day's finally here."

"We can finally get this over with," Chi-Chi remarks. "Three years spent trainin' for this, when it's all over I never want to have to fight like this again."

"Retiring from the action does sound nice," Yamcha admits. "But first thing's first. We have some robots to smash."

Goku nods, slamming his right fist into his left palm. "I'm ready to take these Androids on."

"Does everyone feel prepared for this?" you ask.

"As prepared as I can be," Tenshinhan answers. "I've given training my all for the past three years. I hope it's enough."

Chi-Chi nods in agreement.

None of the others offer any comment.

The metaphorical elephant in the room demands to be addressed, and you just can't help yourself.

"Why isn't Konattsu here?" you ask.

Krillin sighs. "Well, you see-"

"She isn't ready for a fight like this," Chi-Chi interrupts her husband. "And I'm not going to let her get herself killed."

Krillin looks down, and you get the feeling that he and Chi-Chi argued about this for quite a while before now.

You decide to let it go, and find a place to take a seat. Closing your eyes, you begin to meditate, focusing your mind for the upcoming battle. You remember what will happen if you fail here today. You remember the warnings of your son. You can't be careless, you can't fail, you need to stop this nightmare before it begins.

"Alright, what gives?" Lazuli demands angrily, causing you to open your eyes. "It's almost 10:30. Where are these things?!"

"I'm sure they'll be here," Bulma tells her. "We just need to wait."

"Maybe this whole thing was just a prank," Yamcha suggests with a shrug. "Kid from the future coming to warn us about evil robots? Funny, right?"

"We spent three years training for this, Yamcha," Chi-Chi snaps. "I don't think it's funny."

Goku approaches the edge of the cliff, looking down at the city without a word.

"Uncle Tofoo?" Kori asks, walking over to you. "Do you think they're coming?"

"Yes," you tell her. "I know they are."

Yamcha sighs. "Look, man, I know the guy said he was your kid and all, but he also said these things would be here half an hour ago."

"If he said they'll be here, they'll be here!" Bulma snaps, giving Yamcha a withering glare.

The man cowers in front of her, nodding his head in agreement with her. "Right. Of course. What was I thinking?"

"Still, he has a point," Tenshinhan comments. "They should have been here by now."

Bulma glares toward the three-eyed man, but doesn't say anything else.

"Look!" Goku shouts, his head turned toward the sky.

Doing as he says, you spot a large ball of light come crashing down like a meteor onto the city, eradicating several large buildings in a fiery blast.

Smoke begins to billow from that section of the city as fire begins to spread around the ruins. Meanwhile, two figures you can barely see descend, disappearing among the buildings and crowds.

"Wait, what gives?" Lazuli asks. "I couldn't feel any energy from that attack."

"Yeah, neither could I," Krillin tells her. "No energy signature from them, or their attack."

"Well, they're machines, right?" Tenshinhan asks, his voice trembling a bit. "Maybe they don't have energy we can sense."

"Great...." Yamcha gulps. "So then, there's only one way to find them."

Goku nods. "We'll have to search the city. Split up and look for them, but don't try to fight alone. If you run into the Androids, raise your power as high as possible or come find us."

"Hold on!" you shout to the others, pulling out the bag of Senzu Beans and giving a bean to each of them.

You keep one for yourself, and hand the rest off to Bulma. With everybody equipped with a pick-me-up in case things go South, the gang splits up and descends on the city.

A few people, such as Krillin and Chi-Chi, split off into pairs. You decide to join with Yamcha, and, consequently, Lazuli as you begin your search, landing on a sidewalk next to a busy city street.

As one would expect, three people dropping out of the sky draws some funny looks from civilians, but you largely ignore that, searching around for anybody that seems out of the ordinary.

"It would have helped to ask what these things look like," Lazuli remarks, her voice full of irritation.

You wonder if that's more due to the game of hide-and-seek, or the looks she's getting, both from those shocked to see her drop from the sky, or men just checking her out.

"Well, too late now," Yamcha tells her. "Let's get looking."

"Do you have any idea how many people are in a city this big?!" Lazuli snaps at him. "This is bad, Yamcha, really bad."

Closing your eyes, you attempt to feel the vibrations in the air, hoping that will allow you to locate the Androids.

Lazuli was right, however; there are countless people in this city, as well as animals, vehicles, and a host of other moving things that affect the air around them. You can't tell where these things are. In fact, trying to read all of these vibrations nearly causes you sensory overload.

You open your eyes, feeling your frustration building.

"AGH!" Lazuli shouts. "This is insane!"

"Try and calm down," Yamcha tells her as he frantically searches around for some sign of the mechanical monsters. "We'll find them, we just have to-"

There's an explosion in the distance, and you can feel a weird sort of fluctuation of power. You can't tell whose it is, but the implications seem pretty clear.

>>

>What are Trunks and Goten
>>
>>1550211
The actually effects of those blasts on the environment have been incredibly inconsistent.
Somehow Roshi can destroy the entire moon in one blast but Frieza whiffing a shit-ton of blasts on Namek doesn't completely destroy the planet.
>>
>>1550222
I'm not saying them doing it is okay either, but there's no reason to trivialize that much.

Even Frieza's asspull transformation is basically SSJ.

"Come on!" you shout to Yamcha and Lazuli, taking to the air and letting your power rise as you fly in the direction of the blast, signaling to the others that you've found something.

It takes only a few seconds before you reach your destination, a four-way intersection that seems to have been largely abandoned, probably due in part to the corpses strewn around the streets and sidewalks, and slumped against buildings.

The burning wreckage of a car sends smoke billowing into the atmosphere, and two figures stand beside it, watching with neutral expressions as you land to confront them.

They're an odd pair, to say the least. One appears to be a portly clown with skin as white as Chaozu's, baggy, orange, striped pants, a small little vest over some sort of black top, and a pointy hat on his head with the Red Ribbon insignia on it.

The other appears to be a skinny, old man with long, white hair, a bushy mustache of the same color, a shirt with the same color scheme as the other's pants under a black vest, black, baggy pants, and a large, black hat with the Red Ribbon insignia on it.

The two watch you with piercing blue eyes as you and the others begin to gather in front of them, their expressions not changing as more and more of you show up.

Goku, Chi-Chi, Krillin, Yamcha, Lazuli, Chaozu, and Kori all land around you.

That's when you realize that Tenshinhan was already here.

He lies sprawled on his stomach in front of the pair, one arm twisted at an angle that tells you it's been broken, and obvious signs of a blow to the back of his head.

"Tenshinhan!" Chaozu shouts, starting toward his fallen friend.

"that's Lord Onio to you weaklings!"
But yeah, people calculated onio's power level to be at only 400 at base level, dude is pretty much trash by saiyan standards.

"So, these are the Androids," you comment, casting a warning look toward Chaozu, who holds up for a moment.

You turn to the old man. "And you must be Doctor Gero."

"My, you seem rather knowledgeable," the old man remarks. "In fact, it appears as though you lot have gathered on this island in anticipation of our arrival. An interesting development, indeed. Wouldn't you agree, Nineteen?"

The other Android silently nods his head.

"These are the big bad Androids we were warned about?" Lazuli asks. "A geezer and a clown?"

The old man chuckles. "You should know better than to judge anyone by appearance, Lazuli."

The blonde woman scowls.

"Your arrival here is most fortuitous," the old man remarks. "It saves us the trouble of hunting you all down one by one."

He glances toward Tenshinhan. "Although, that strategy has proven effective enough."

Chaozu trembles, unable to restrain himself anymore. "Tenshinhan!"

"No, stay back!" you warn.

Nineteen smirks, firing two thin beams of light from his eyes, right toward Chaozu.

The small man stops in his tracks, eyes going wide with fear as he quickly attempts to fly away. However, at the last second, the beams change course, shooting downward into the body of the defenseless Tenshinhan.

The beams seem to detonate, and a massive cloud of dust blocks your view of your comrade's body. You can just barely make out the soulless eyes of the Androids through the cloud, as they motionlessly wait.

"Tenshinhan!" Krillin shouts with worry, thrusting his hands toward the cloud.

A quick burst of energy creates a powerful wind that blows the dust away, revealing a grim sight.

Tenshinhan's body has been left with a massive hole thanks to the blasts, and you don't even need to use your senses to know that he's dead.

"NO!" Yamcha shouts.

Chaozu looks down at his friend, tears streaming down his face.

Nineteen lets out a sadistic, gleeful laugh, delighting in the shock and grief of your group as they look upon their fallen friend.

"You bastards!" Goku growls.

Gero says nothing, and Nineteen continues to laugh.

The Androids have finally made their appearance, and claimed their first victim. Will Tenshinhan be the last, or is this just the beginning of the end for the Earth's defenders? Find out next time, on Dragonball Quest!

>End Updates

That's all for tonight, folks, I hope you all enjoyed it.

Follow me @qmdralo to see when I'm running

And, as always, I will stick around to address questions, comments, and concerns.

Good work Som.

TEEEEEEEN!
thanks for running Som

Thanks, guys.

Rolled 35, 98, 13, 27, 38, 9, 18, 72, 33, 10 = 353 (10d100)

Can't wait to job next thread.
>>
>>1550368
FUCK!! Good run, worried me plenty. Also Majin Tao when?
>>
>>1550397
Tao dead, anon

>>1550394
Let the games begin
>>
>>1550390
You did great man. Good job for coursing around anon's metagame.
>>
>>1550368
Thanks for running, What were Gero's thoughts through out the arcs as they came closer for his time to shine?
>>
>>1550419
All will be revealed
>>1550416
Thank you
>>
>>1550368
Great job guys you fucking killed Tien
>>
>>1550427
Is super android 17 a thing in your setting?
>>
>>1550457
Regular 17 isn't a thing, so no
>>
>>1550427

Thank you for not going the petty route when anons tried to metagame. The sick behavior of a few shouldn't ruin things for everyone else.

How much of a hypothetical erection does Gero have right now?
>>
>>1550463
Rigid
>>
>>1550461
Aww man why not we shine in movie fights.
>>
>>1550473
Super 17 was in GT, not a movie
>>
>>1550493
GT was basically a series of boring ass movies.
>>
>>1550461
so are androids 17 and 18 going to be Nappa and Vegeta?
>>
>>1550509
No

But I do have some plans for Nappa and Vegeta down the road
>>
>>1550509
Its Roshi and Crane, nobody saw them for three years.
>>
>>1550493

Did anyone else used the Gravity Chamber with us when we trained? I'm sure we offered Krillin and Chi Chi the chance to train with us.
>>
>>1550530
Once or twice, but very rarely
>>
>>1550493
Sorry I was thinking 13
>>
>>1550515
Sweet, I really hope Vegeta doesn't find out Konnatsu is Chi-chi's daughter when he shows back up
>>
>>1550540
13 might happen, not sure yet
>>1550543
Meh, we'll see how things play out
>>
>>1550515
Plan to Eradicate the Super Sayians?
>>
>>1550560
So much of that damn OVA made no sense, but I will try
>>
>>1550563
But it will all be worth it when we fight giant vibrator man.
>>
>>1550568
If you say so
>>
>>1550635
>>
>>1550635
so did Tien go alone?I could swear he would tag along with Chaozu. Also looks like his training was pretty garbage since he couldnt last 5 minutes against the androids even though he was one of the strongest characters pre timeskip
>>
>>1550742
They split up, yes. And he was caught off-guard. You may also be underestimating Nineteen and Twenty.
>>
>>1550563
More of me trying to guess when Vegeta and Nappa might show up. Either then or Fusion Reborn.
>>
>>1550754
Are 19&20 stronger then in canon?
>>
>>1551301
Isn't everybody at this point?
>>
>>1551301
Yes we don't have 17 and 18 so 19 and 20 have been beefed up. 19 and 20 are the androids terrorizing the future
>>
>>1551696
I hope 16 shows up. I want to kill him again. Or befriend him. I haven't decided.
>>
>>1550903
Why not both?
>>
>>1551724
If we removed Gero's hat would he die?
>>
>>1551868
It would be really painful...
>>
>>1551870
he is a big android..
>>
>>1552024
For you
>>
We need to develop a kick technique, its the last thing we are missing.
>>
>>1553179
We could steal Great Lee's Dragon Stomp.
We could add the dragon projection like Goku's dragon fist too.
>>
>>1553179
>>1553303
How about this? We could add electricity to it.

>>
Fuck, we missed the 23rd, or whatever number we are at, WMAT. I wanted to come out to Booby Roode's theme song.
>>
>>1553428
I don't think Tofoo's ego is big enough for GLORIOUS

Unless we go full Vegeta expy and start overdosing on pride anyways
>>
>>1553428
And it was the 24th Budokai we missed, need to find that arc list that one anon had made...
>>
>>1553444
But we do love to show off. If no GLORIOUS, then can we have a fat Jewish hype man?
>>
>>1553455
Honestly, we could just pay Mr. Satan to be our hypeman, assuming he managed to win our Missed Budokai
>>
>>1553451
We won that one, 23rd was the one we got disqualified for kicking Piccolo.
>>
>>1553467
But I want not!Paul Heyman, not Satan.

Also, with our , we can actually have an attack we call, and we can call it like Corey Graves calls it.
>>
>>1553500
our Kinshasa*

>>1553496
No that was 22nd. Same as it was in canon. The one we won would have been the one that got skipped in canon since Goku and Piccolo didn't destroy the arena this time.

Tofoo is the current World Champion
>>
>>1553847
Damn straight, I wonder if Goku has seen the footage of that WMAT since he has gotten back. He would have enjoyed Koris matches and almost all the main tournaments matches.
>>
>>1553847
Thank you
>>1553879
This is a good question. The better question is how much of the fights would actually be captured on film? Super-slow-mo cameras catch most of the fight?

>>1553894
The cameras definitely would have missed the conclusion of Krillin and Chaozus match unless they have the announcer a camera too
>>
>>1553931
Meant "can the cameras even record the action?" Or does it look like Goku v Cell on film?
