Having a famous parent can be a real bother, especially if they're an evil ruler of the land. You'd think being the son of the wicked queen of the borderlands wouldn't be so bad, but all your life she's coddled you and prevented you from achieving your own greatness! Finally though after many years and on the cusp of adulthood, you took matters into your own hands and escaped her loving clutches! Absconding with some valuables and servants, you fled from the lands in control of your mother to strike out and make something of yourself, to stand on your own two feet.

And so after some month's travel you came to Dowen Belda, the domain of the elves, particularly the forested region. In a snap decision though, rather than the haughty pointed ears, you decided instead to find refuge among some orcs. At least for awhile, though now with knowledge of a prime location for claim, you prepare to set out once again. An overgrown, ruined castle awaits through the great forest.

Welcome back!

So after having assisted Ruta the dryad in creating a divine tree, as a gift to the orc village whom you've been living with, you've decided to set out again to the ruined forest castle. You know there to be a group of goblins squatting there, so you'll have to find some way of dealing with them.

The actual trip will take about three days though, so what sort of preparations do you want to make before you set out? How much effort/resources do you want to devote to this effort? Are you fully committed and moving everything and everyone over there?
>>
>>1531426
How did we give is as a gift?

Did we ask them to plant the trees that they cut?

Take all of your companions and the orcs that want to join.
Take some lemons from the divine tree to see if you can plant more among the castle.
See if you manage to make a detour with Ruta ane Gwen to the big orange tree, remember to grab some of the oranges to plant them.
Sleep and satisfy Ruta on the nights and mornings?
Practice to see if you can enchant stones or plants to glow with mana, since you don't want smoke on the caves of the underdark (I suppoce, I don't kniw much about thr underdark)
>>
>>1531426
>Are you fully committed and moving everything and everyone over there?

The orcs would at least want to know what is in there first, and ot would be hard for them to give up the divine tree, so I would asume that we would make recognition, make a settlement, call all the orcs around to join us and then settle on the underdark.

If some orcs stay near the tree above or note will depend on how things develop.
>>
>>1531458
Basically this.

Did Ruta tell Gwen about anything we can do to keep the tree alive while she was gone?
>>
>>1531458
Well it was presented to the orcs and it's within their area of control. You could definitely not give it to them, but my understanding was that was the plan since last time. As for their tree practices, you can tell them that and ask about it, but you don't expect much to change. They do like the divine tree though and will maintain it however they can. Though, the tree can sustain itself.

For preparations though, you'll be packing up everything and everyone for travel. Make a roll, d100 to see how many orcs are interested in traveling with you. And a detour by the orange tree is just fine, it's about two days out.

>>1531485
The tree isn't within their village, it's like a two hour walk away. They like it and will try to take care of it how they can, but they're not about to pack everything up and move to live by it.

>>1531505
Which tree, the divine one or the giant orange one? The divine tree is self-sustaining.

That's about 12 orcs willing to go with you then! Also because you rolled as high, you can specify what details you'd like about them. If you want certain jobs, or all fighters, or gender ratio, ages, etc...
>>
>>1531703
Five romantic couples and two singles, 6 males and 6 females
Singles our age and the couples mid-twenties?

A Fertility priestess as the female single and a good fighter for the male single?

The others can be a mix smiths, hunters, foragers, miners and fighters
>>
>>1531703
1 experienced blacksmith, 1 experienced botanist, alchemist, or however the profecion that knows how to make potions is called, 2 with experience in construction, 1 old and experienced fighter (to train the others amd give advice) and the rest young (body fully developed) fighters.

Take 'experienced' as 'somewhat old', not enoigh to be a novice, but not what somebody would call old, either.

The gender ratio, well, I don't know how they deal relationships (if they are monogamous and such), so I suppoce that 6 males and 6 females is fine? If we can have more women than men, though, I would like to have 9 women and 3 men, with all men as figters (and the experienced one)

And if you can get somebody with experience dealing with goblings, better that way.

A little consensus between then. You can get those with the skills or professions you want (except mining), and two special individuals if you want, like a shaman, an alchemist, a magic user, etc...

And just settle on gender ratio. They'll pretty much be fine with any arrangement since they're just first wave settlers more or less.

Another Fertility shaman/priestess and a Male Healer

That works, so you can get a fertility shaman of the orc deity of that domain, and an orc brewmaster who can prepare healing droughts.

The other 10 will be an even mix of killed folks, and being orcs they can all fight and carry themselves but at least two will be experienced fighters.

So then you gather up the lot of them, along with the rest of your servants and supplies, and set out into the forest again. You do plan to detour and visit the giant orange tree though, which is about two days away. Make a roll to see how the journey goes for your decently-sized group.

Quite well, you make the travel to the giant orange tree without trouble, and when you get there you find quite the sight. In the time you were away, it looks like a number of elves have moved in and set up a little commune at the giant tree and the smaller (but still oversized) orchard of other trees around it. They look quite busy and take on defensive measures when they see your group approach. Probably because so many orcs, however they're not outright hostile and just want to make sure you're not there to attack.

Already you can tell though that most of your group is speechless, seeing the truly massive tree. Just Ruta, smiles and hugs you close, to see the tree you spawned together.
>>
>>1531971
Take Ruta's hand and walk closer after stating we're friendly, we can camp out here for a day while Ruta tends to the tree
>>
>>1531971
Something tells me that just going in while saying "Hey, the fuck are you doing in my house!", or telling them that we made the tree so big is not going to end well.

Still, we want to show it to Gwen and the orc priest...

Can we just ask them to let us pass if we tell then we have 2 fertility priests?

Also, would the wood from it be special? Like, can you make better spears with it?

And can only Ruta control it (if she can) since it is 'her' tree?
>>
>>1532018
This too, show it to the shamans
>>
>>1531993
>>1532018
As long as you don't attack and pillage them, they're fine letting you in. Except for Nadira and Sephaly, for obvious reasons, assume them to be hiding in the coach. The orcs on their own also, the elves wouldn't let in. But along with you, they can take that as safe enough. You're also free to ask for supplies or trade with them if you want.

At any rate though, at the very least you can approach the giant tree with Ruta, and show both Gwen the faun, and the the orc priestess the tree. Gwen is utterly astounded, and while it's not as clear evidence of divine power as the lifespring tree you made outside the orc village, it is certainly inspiring. The orc priestess by contrast, thinks it's impressive as anyone, but it doesn't seem as important to her and by extension orc sensibilities you would guess.
>>
>>1532049
Time for helping the tree live then, did Ruta pass on any Rituals to Gwen we can do?
>>
>>1532049
How would the elves react if we went up to the tree? And what if we made it bigger?
>>
>>1532072
That would confirm that it was you who made the tree. Why make it bigger though? It eventually will die.

>>1532055
Not really Gwen's thing, Ruta can assist the tree but it's only delaying the inevitable.
>>
>>1532097
Lets keep it alive for as long as we can then, assist Ruta if we can

>>
>>1532097
No need to fug on the tree then.

Try to take a giant orange, though.
>>
>>1532112
Ruta can collect as many as you like from the tree. The elves knowing she is a dryad though, similarly beseech her to care for the tree so she'll likely be occupied for as long as you care to remain here.

>>1532102
You can spend time among the orcs. Anything particular? They're pretty sociable and even interact with some of the elves. They're all looking forward though to this secret place you're headed.
>>
>>1532124

>>1532131

>>
>>1532131
The brewmaster, Ewor is a big and jolly fellow, as expected by his profession. Part of his reason for wanting to travel with you is to go to new places in the forest, so that he can see about new ingredients to make drinks out of, and to be on the front lines of activity to test his work.

The shaman you similarly try to befriend though she's a pretty tough, traditional type that takes her work seriously. Ruhida, her name, you're able to converse with her at least about her work though. You're not too familiar with Gwen's practices either but from what you understand Gwen is a more general fertility shaman for the overall notion of life and growth. Ruhida though by contrast is more specifically about love and family, and planning/organizing of them. Livestock too, it seems she's more oriented to the needs of a tribe rather than the needs of an environment or strangers.
>>
>>1532175

Hang out with the others while we wait for the night to come
And have dinner while hanging out with them
>>
>>1532175
Does the brewmaster think he can make something out of the oranges? Can we sell that to the elves?
>>
>>1532266
Probably that is the case, yes, but not his normal style of alcoholic. Just magic orange juice though, is simple enough for him and you can try to sell it.

>>1532248
That's simple enough. You continue to spend time among the orcs, and share dinner with everyone. Over said dinner, they get to talking about things to come, and they wonder both what you have in mind for this new place, and why you've come here and are trying to settle in the deep forest? It's not often humans come this far.
>>
>>1532292
We have come here to make something grand for ourselves, to archive greatness. And for now, the plan is to make peace with the goblings in the castle and settle there. Doing so would probably allow us to gather strengh without the elves realising and stand on our own. We believe so, because there is an entrance to the underdark. We know how dangerous it can be, so we will only try to explore and be careful to see if it is worth it. We know that at it is safe enough that the goblings can live in there.
>>
>>1532347
While none of them are too keen on the underdark, they're vaguely interested enough to help out if you've got a plan or ideas for how to make it worth the time. Also just to put some goblins in their place.

So it's a pretty decent dinner and time spent among the lot of them. Some look to an early night while others stay up, but you're free to act or go to sleep when you wish. Unless planned otherwise, you'll continue along the path to the ruined castle tomorrow and reach it after another day's travel.
>>
>>1532477
Cuddle with Ruta when she's done helping with the tree
>>
>>1532477
Sure, sleep with Ruta.

Also, what could the elves give in exchange for the orange juice, if anything? What do they have for sale/trade?

Also, doesn't our orc has any alcholic drink? He should be able to brew something with that and the orange juice.
>>
>>1532519
>>1532499
You wait up for Ruta, snuggling and falling asleep with her for the night.

---

The next morning folks awaken at their own pace, though after a breakfast everyone should be ready.

As for Ewor, he can just mix the orange juice into a drink but that's not the same as brewing a drink for it. That takes time to understand the ingredients. For just the orange juice, well what would you want to trade the elves for? They themselves are also new settlers so they don't have anything amazing really, but a good amount of just basic supplies, tools, and other useful things for setting up a place to live.
>>
>>1532541
Keep some for later then
We're good I hope, bid them farewells and get back on the journey
>>
>>1532541
Well, we have some lemons? Right?

Having lemons that grow trees in one day and heal people should be valuable for them.

Also, try to enchant some stones so they might give light on their own, see if you can get something from them.

Ask for things like clothes, tools (axes, pickaxes, shovels, hammers), and weapons (bows, arrows, shields, spears, etc. Swords tend to cost most and spears give better range).

Also, furniture too? Things like barrels and boxes. I would prever to have more of the others, though.
>>
>>1532624
>>1532548
Elves are excellent craftsmen, so even just simple tools you can get from them are far better than what you or the orcs have. The lemons might be a bit too valuable for that, they do more than just grow trees rapidly. Maybe one or two, along with a big batch of magic orange juice.

With that, and the goodwill shown, the elves are happy (even if they try not to show it) to give you a favorable trade. They give several sets of clothes for the group, a good compliment of tools and equipment, and some useful storage items and furniture. Not so much weapons though, they need the ones they have.

So beyond that, you're content to set out again?
>>
>>1532541
Ask if anyone would like to be the Goblin King's Wife for a while in exchange for the goods we're trading
>>
>>1532713

While making the trade, you also ask if any of the elves would want to join your group because why not? They're not big fans of the orcs, but a relatively younger elf girl after some consideration all around, eventually supposes she could ravel with a group as colorful as yours. She's kind of on the fence though so you could take her or leave her.

Either way, the group departs with one more member and after another day's travel you reach the forested castle ruins. As before, the goblin group squat in the old fortification, and bristle to your approach. You may act towards them however you wish, but you already notice that with the fair number of orcs with you now, the goblins are definitely less eager for a fight and less keen on pelting you with rocks, spears or arrows.

You make all the arrangements, shed your armaments and put the gifts in clear display. Those can come later though, for now they just let you inside to where you're sat before the king in his little makeshift wooden throne. You notice it's actually a footstool for normal-sized folks, but don't want to tear him down.

So rather nervously the king asks what you intend to offer, and tries to discuss things officially in front of the other goblins watching. The gifts you described, tools and trinkets are appealing to them, and if you can deal with their problem then they'll accept your entry to the fort to share it with them.
>>
>>1533134
Sure, ask him to lead us to the place
And ask if our people can get settled in while we deal with his problem, they're going to be his neighbors after we're done so he should get to know them
>>
>>1533163
He would rather not let a bunch of orcs into the fort, otherwise he's basically handing the whole place over to you anyway. As a fair deal though, he also won't take the goods and gifts from you beforehand either.

So just the problem then to deal with. You're going to have to manage without your weapons or equipment though, but that won't prevent you from casting magic so you're not totally at a loss. So you're led farther into the fort and down beneath, to what may have been a large chapel or even cathedral at one point but has long since been ruined. At the very back though is a lower passage which leads to some sort of chamber, possibly for rituals if you had to guess. Therein is a great door pushed aside, behind which is a rocky tunnel leading downward. The goblins all gather around, and the king gives you a torch and some food and supplies to offer up so that they'll listen to you down there.

As before, the rough estimate of the situation is that the goblins were mining down here but due to some dispute they came to disagreements and violence. Eventually the ones down here barricaded themselves in to keep the goblins up in the fort from getting to them, but at the same time couldn't leave because the fort was occupied.
>>
>>1533214
Head down deeper and see what's up, let them know we're friendly
>>
>>1533214
Ask the king what the dispute was about, if he would prefer us to bargain, teach them a lesson, or what?

Well, cast protection spells, or anything that prevents you from getting killed in with an arrow before you do anything.

Also, try to cast light. Some distance away from you, so you can see what lays ahead without revealing yourself too much.
>>
>>1533235
He would rather they were all dead for their impudence. His hope is you can smooth things over with them, convince them to come back up to the surface, and then the surface gobs will ambush and kill all of them.

So you continue on down, forming a protective ward before yourself in case of incoming attacks. A light spell or two as well, though eventually you see signs of conflict, goblins dead for awhile and broken weapons, barricades and whatnot as you descend further. Eventually that ward comes in handy, as you're pelted with some arrows from the dark beyond. A followed emergence of several vicious, emaciated looking gobs out for blood and more, and they don't really look in the talking mood. Though they probably also just think you're some lost fool.

In a pinch, you beguile the fierce goblins with some confusing magical displays. Enough to make them reconsider attacking you, as they ask who you are and what you want. It's much easier to speak with them after sharing the supplies you were given, as you explain your purpose and wish to talk with them or wherever the rest of them are. At least, you assume there are others.

After some deliberation among them, and letting you know if you don't succeed in whatever it is you're after that they'll eat you, eventually they escort you along. You have to move fast and keep low in order to maintain pace with them though, and some tens of minutes later and several nearly-dangerous encounters with other goblins, they bring you to a big barricaded tunnel. They don't really have a way of opening it up, just openings small enough for them, so instead of bringing you inside they just fetch their leader. Eventually she emerges, confused by your presence but hopeful when you again offer up the supplies you were given. Taking a bite and a drink herself, she then hands the rest off to a helper who takes them back through the barricade for the rest. She then asks to sit and wonders what you want?
>>
>>1533357
Tell her that we come down in representation of the goblings to make peace, but first, what was it that they fought for in the first place? It must have been important, if you chooce to barricade this tunnel this way against them.
>>
>>1533379
You speak with her on even terms which you can tell she is grateful for, still surprised to see a human after all. At any rate you ask the obvious, as to why this whole conflict came about in the first place. She says the goblins exploring down here actually found a passage to the "dark below" and the potential value that lie there. The king though wanted them only to mine and drag up riches for him, so eventually she felt sympathy for the working, mining gobs and organized with them to try and get better conditions. The king took offence and sought to oust and punish them, so eventually the conflict came about and they figured the only option was to try and retreat further away and further down.

She hopes for peace but she doesn't believe the king will accept it, he just wants to protect his position and get revenge. Unfortunately they don't have much hope down here, but then if he got a human on his side she supposes maybe it's over for them anyway.
>>
>>1533462
Oh, the king is an idiot, what a surpice.

Well this is my plan, since we have Nadira looking after us trough divination, we can tell her of our plan, right?

Thus, we can ask our thief friend to enter and kill/take hostage the gobling king, right?

Still, wait for the other anons before following my plan.
>>
>>1533462
Would the king accept them back?
Is there any chance of that?
>>
>>1533499
If you want this done in short order, Rika will probably have a hard time of it since he's always surrounded. It would take her several days at least, to infiltrate well enough to be unnoticed for a strike. Though you do know that the goblin leadership up in the fort isn't that strong, so killing the king may lead to just another bully stepping up in the vacuum left by him.

>>1533512
Maybe? Perhaps you could try to convicne him? He said though he planned to kill them all. Certainly he'll kill some of them to make examples.

Before doing that.

>>1533462
Ask her how does the gobling king keep his position, then, if the gobling that fight them know they will be treated kust as badly.

Does he rule by fear? Allowing sertain benefits to some so they oppress the others? Or is it because of tradition and customes, making it so the other goblings wouldn't think of raising against him?

Or is he generally a good king and his people follow him, while being ignorant om how they were treated?

>>1533529

>>
>>1533512
Nah, I don't want him anymore.

He is THAT kind of king, the kind that abuses his subjects and rules trough fear and setting examples.

Better we just replace him, or put the gobling we are talking to right now in his place.
>>
>>1533525
He only became the king because he found a tiara first, put it on and called himself king. The tribe liked him because he kept them safe and wealthy, but he put those things above everything else, to the detriment of individuals of the tribe.

>>1533529
The ones up in the fort, they generally like him. Enough that they can overlook his treatment of the gobs down here. At least that's what she thinks, though there are both gobs down here and up there, who have family either vice versa and would want to see one another well of course. It would seem that enough of a majority or vocal minority preferred more riches, over the wellbeing of the gobs down here and so support the king because of that.
>>
>>1533596
Tell them we will try to help them, to overtrow their king.

Tell her about your options, rallying the people against him might be too dificult, attacking and capturing him at night could be the best option, but maybe they are prepared for us comming out at night (and IIRC, goblings see in the dark), trying to put to sleep the entire fortress maybe would be a little to much for us, and a frontal attack could be efective, especially with our help, but could lead to many deaths.

So the best option seems to combine them.
Go out at (what you think is, unless you can actually confirm it) night, put to sleep those guarding the entrance, and try to sneack your way to the chef and rally the goblings against him once you have him prisioner.

The goblings down here would be waiting near the entrance in case the plan goes wrong, and you would try to put some to sleep, so you don't need to kill that many.

On a scale of 1 to 10, how dumb would the idea of using magic to enchant our melee prowess via punching and kicking dudes in the face and soul? Because I'm kinda down for that but there's that chance of it backfiring due to it possibly getting in the way of doing some of that Real Man's Magic that all the grownup wizards get to cast.
>>
>>1533782
You can enchant yourself that you would do magical damage with your fists and feet, and that alone is pretty potent. Though it won't increase your fighting skill or strength, something like that is more advanced than you know.
>>
>>1533729

>>1533736
>>1533788

Make an illusion instead, she can make herself one later.
>>
>>1533816
But the goblins have magic too, they can detect it and dispel it.
>>
>>1533816
Then the real question lies with how good the illusion is combined with how long it can last, because I get the feeling that a really good one can only last for a certain period of time with a newbie magician.
>>
>>1533823
Well if you're trying to trick the goblins with an illusion crown, which would work since the king only became king because he found a tiara, you wouldn't need the illusion to last that long. Just enough for all the goblins to see, and force the king to step down. Even if the illusion faded after, as long as thew new ruler had some sort of crown (perhaps the tiara, taken from the king?) then it wouldn't matter.
>>
>>1533829
Well
Make the illusion and come out while the others work on another real and better tiara
>>
>>1533871
Just take the king's one whem he steps down and she can make one herself later.
>>
>>1533871
>>1533885
Alright then, you explain to her an idea you have, whereby you'll create an illusion of a crown on her head. A spledid crown at that, one which will certainly cause the king to step down from power out of sheer envivous shame. The illusion may not last long, but you only need it for long enough that the king abdicates and you can get the tiara off him.

She's not so sure about the success of this, but she feels that if your magic is up to snuff, then she'll try.

Telling the goblin to stay still since it's not an easy process, you imagine the most splendid crown you can to create an illusion out of atop her head. You recall once, seeing a simply gaudy crown in your mother's treasure hold. A thing of gold and velvet, many jewels and a complicated arcing structure to boot, apparently it belonged to some undead ruler she destroyed.

So with that memory and the concentration you can formulate the illusion. She's quite amazed and has to be reminded that it's only an illusion. After that, together with her and some other gobs you head on back through the tunnels and up to the fort again. The topside gobs there are expecting you but not a sight such as this! Witness to the goblin queen from below, they drop to their knees in a panic and weep, begging for her favor and forgiveness. Like that you continue past other gobs of the fort till finally all the commotion reaches the ears of the king and he emerges. What he expects is the goblins below ready to be ambushed and killed, what he gets is a dreadful shock. Simply blinded by the sun reflecting off the brilliance (an added part of the illusion), his attempts to shield his eyes eventually allow him to perceive what grandeur stands before him. You're not sure how he'll react and expect violence or trickery, but suddenly tears well in his eyes and he kneels before her and lowers his head in defeat, recognizing her as the true monarch here. Perhaps this was the kind of riches he sought from underground, but she found them first and so he cannot lie to himself any longer. He doesn't seek mercy either, simply recognition of inferiority to superiority.

Of course, the gob girl quickly takes the tiara from him and holds onto it for when the illusion fades. For now though, all the gobs of the fort show respect to their new ruler. And at that, she looks to you, and asks you what now?
>>
>>1534414
Well, if you're referring to the king that's up to you
But we would appreciate it if she opened the gates so our people can get started on moving in
>>
>>1534433
The king then she'll decide on later, and she just hugs you with supreme gratitude, for helping her and helping her people. After that, what follows is a pretty sizeable exodus, as both your people and hers enter into the fort and settle in. Of course hers though take to eating and drinking ravenously after being denied supplies for so long.

But unless anything goes awry, you now have ready and free access to the ruined forest castle. Despite its overgrown condition, there's more than enough space for everyone, both groups. There's some question as to who's really in charge and who owns the whole place, supposedly the new goblin queen, but then you basically handed to her.

Either way though it's something that can be figured out later.
>>
>>1534414
>And at that, she looks to you, and asks you what now?

Ask her to let our people in, and tell her about the things that we brought, also of how we can plant the fruits outside to get more food.

The goblings that were underground with her would probably like too relax and meet their families.

Also, if she wants to make a celebration, she can do so.

We could also like to explore the castle. (Look for magic items)

Tell her to keep the underdark a secret from our elf companion.

Does the elf know of our gorgon companion?

And aboit what to do with the previous king, well, his greed made a lot of goblings die, but killing him would only add another. If she doesn't want to kill him but doesn't want to let him go unpunished either, making him give a bigger tribute (if the other give one in the first place) for a long time should work, but if she want to punish him and how that is her choice.

Another thing she can do is letting the people related to those who died and on the mine make the choice.
>>

>>
>>1534475

>>1534464
There's some things that need to be dealt with right away, but others can come later. Naturally everyone is going to want to take it easy for awhile and you sign the rest of the day off for resting and taking it easy now with a place to call home.

Of the things which need to be dealt with now though, the new queen spreads the word around of keeping the underdark a secret if they can. You come to realize though that goblins can blab quite a bit, so that might become a problem. Though at the same time, the speak rather nonsensically or with strange words and phrases so often enough it's hard to tell what they're even talking about.

The elf doesn't know about Sephaly or Nadira. Sephaly is a problem for most people for everyone naturally, but Nadira may be a huge problem with the elf, being a drow.

The last thing, she doesn't want to kill the former king or forgive him, but she wants to send him on his way. Since you let her do as she pleases, she decides to exile the former king but gives him some good supplies and let him take his wife with.

>>1534494

What about letting her control her people, but she becomes our liege?

In echange of allegiancing with us, we give them protection. She in echange give us resources and work for us. She can also lead her people and command them as their leader.

We could also go for vassaling her, which would make her our servant, a servant which controls land and people for us.
>>

>>1534586
Orcs, us

>>
>>1534604
>The thing is, would she accept that?

Well, we handed her the power, and why have shown that we have her people in our best interest, and resources to help them, why not?

She would be loyal to us, not losing control over her people, and she is getting benefits from doing so.

Yoy will never know until you ask.
>>
>>1534586
And get that advanced ritual Gwen talked about going
About finding out if we're blessed or not
>>
>>1534596
>but she becomes our liege?

The actual correct definiton, which means that she would be our servant.
>>
>>1534596
>>1534604
As long as you didn't step on her toes too much, and make sure things are good for the goblins, she won't mind. Whenever orcs and gobs end up together, the gobs tend to end up subservient anyway. Also she recognizes that she isn't/wasn't ever leader material or at least didn't think of herself like that, so she hopes to get advice and follow your example of how to lead. You can expect her asking for help, and as long as you aren't directly controlling her or her people she expects to be happy with the arrangement.

For the orcs though, they're respecting you as the expedition leader, and owner of the castle here. They don't/won't respect you as their leader though, you're just a useful friend. They'll do mostly what you ask but you don't control them.

>>1534621
She can do that but there's the easy way and the hard way. The easy way holds true to the fertility notions if you catch her meaning, but could have unintended relationship consequences. The hard way though is a sacrificial ritual, and while she doesn't have to actually kill you, there does have to be a sacrifice from you. Probably blood or like a finger or ear or something.

That's Gwen's way at least, there are others who can find out. Like Nadira as with anything, can divine the nature of your potential blessing.
>>
>>1534647
Oh, I seem to have misread all lf the definitions, my bad.
>>

You'll have to specify what and how you're asking Ruhida, since unlike Gwen, she doesn't have a knowledge or belief that you might be blessed by a god, and similarly you don't have any sort of prior arrangement with her like you have with Gwen.
>>
>>1534683

She thinks that's interesting but the sort of god which Gwen follows is not the same as the orc god she follows. As such she doesn't believe you're blessed, though admits she could be wrong. If you wanted to be tested she can try with a ritual, but again, it would be for the god she follows not whichever one the faun speaks of.

>>1534697
She'd rather not but if you seriously request, she'll bear witness to it. Even if she saw what happened though, again her view of it from a faith perspective would be different from Gwen's.

No it's not going to work with the orc. For one thing her faith isn't practiced in that way and for another her way of discovering woudn't be done that way either.

Now Gwen could know with a ritual and watching while you do your thing, but the orc isn't interested in that.

The best you could hope for is to convice her of an actual relationship, she's traditional like that. Gwen could learn what she needs from that, but it wouldn't be a one-off thing for the orc.

>>1536040
No, because every time anything has happened has been with the dryad, so that isn't going to confirm anything new. Which of you it is or both even.

How would we go about it? Does she have anything in mind she would like us to do?
Wouldn't she like to have a chance at forming a relationship with someone that's blessed? That would give her strong and healthy children, capable of leading other generations... Who knows!
>>
>>1536099
Well it's not a snap decision she intends to make on the fly. Not as though she is racist, but she's an orc shaman so ideally would seek an orc partner. If indeed you were blessed by some god, she may reconsider, but she's not willing to compromise herself just to test and find out.

Search the entire place, we will inspect the objects later.

Magic items are worth the effort.

First watch out for structural failures, like broken collums or walls. Then at the defemces of the castle, do we have murderholes, machiculations, arroeslits, drawbridges, a mot, or the like?

Then comes things like doors and furniture, but that is for later.

The seducing is not going to work as you may hope though, she takes her duty seriously. If you can prove you have some divine favor about you she might change her mind, but she can't turn her back on her god just because you seduce her.
>>
>>1536278
And the gobs weren't actually mining stone, just digging for riches. You can organize a mining effort though, for the purpose of repairing the castle. So first thing's first, searching the castle for valuables. You organize an effort to strip the place for what you can, meanwhile you and Nadira use your ability to detect magic for anything missed. And of course there's the wealth the goblins already found.

So the search team, apart from mundane items like old furniture and signs of the former inhabitants, are able to turn up some hidden goods in the form of money and a buried old armory where part of the castle collapsed. It will take some work to dig out but the contents should be worth it. Between you and Nadira, you're able to turn up a magic mirror, a decanter, an amulet, and a sword in the goblin storage. You can't tell off the bat how these items are magical, only that they are of that quality. With further study though their purpose can be learned.
>>
>>1538996
Next is a survey to find which locations of the castle can be repaired and which need to be demolished and rebuilt. You do have an orc skilled in construction so that's a help, make a roll to see how well he performs at this task.

>>1536347
Digging in this sense being, searching through the tunnels below for any riches, not any serious mining efforts, enough to turn up stone for construction. Not that it can't be done, just that the goblins weren't on their own.

It would be pretty difficult since it requires a knowledge of mechanisms. The good news is that the elven lady who joined your group has that general skill, and while it would be a slow process to get into the groove of, she could go about making crossbows. Probably easier though just to buy a bunch from an elven settlement.

>>1539064
>72

A good effort, the orc with skills in construction surveys the castle. A lot of it is in disrepair, but the general superstructure and foundations are in serviceable condition. The walls are the most dire naturally, but he thinks with the right supplies, skills, and time, the castle could be brought up to working order in about a month, and another three months could be restored about as good as could be without the skills of a master builder. So basically 90% of the way there.

For now, though, get stones and material for the filling of the walls from a ditch arround the walls/would be walls.

Which reminds me, do we already have a ditch?

No, no ditch. And no orcs with mining skill either, though the gobs could do it. Though being smaller and weaker they won't be as productive.

For the first day you can set people to digging ditches around the castle, though it will take about a week to completely surround it like a moat.

What you may have as your goals are up to you, but for things you'd at least want to see about for the group;

>Getting everyone ok with Sephaly the gorgon so she doesn't have to keep hiding. Also you know there will be some problem between Nadira and the elf lady with your group, when they see one another.
>Setting up a proper method of governance and leadership, who does what and who's in charge.

>Seeing about food and water, the supplies you have won't last long with so many new goblins to feed now.
>Figuring out who and how the castle will be defended if need be.
>Scouting the area around the castle, see who or what is within the immediate region.

>>
>>1539554
>>1539575
>>1539578
Well in your searching of the fort, you found a well so that's water taken care of. Food though not as much, there's no currently available farmland, so you'll have to subsist off hunting and foraging which won't be easy with so many mouths to feed.

For determining governance though, that's not something you can just roll for, it's up to you to come up with how things will function and run in this little budding society you've got.
>>
>>1539597
Ah alrighty, I wasn't sure if you wanted a roll for that so I rolled for both to cover my bases.
>>
>>1539597
Court the Orc priestess!
We can make a tree later to give us some food for a while
>>
>>1539597
Can Ruta help with the trees? Explain to the gobs and orcs that for that we would have to replant the tree that we cut, which won't actually be a problem since we can control the trees that grow to make staffs and furniture (copicing).

Also, we have control over the orcs and goblings (to the orcs we are only the leader of the expedition, but the idea is the same for this), the gobling queen has the biggest rank among the goblings.
Orcs will oversee things, like contruction projects flr example, and the queen can inform us of the needs of her people, as well as her conserns and wants.
>>
>>1539660
Wait for the other anons to see if they agree with that.
>>
>>1539660
This Is fine
>>
>>1539660
It's a good start for the time being, hopefully it'll stick for the time being while we tackle the rest of the list.
>>
>>1539660
Yes Ruta can help, that was part of her reason for staying longer, to help you get set up. Just specify where you want the trees, inside or outside the castle, and make a basic roll just to see how well she can work her powers for the seeds planted.

As for your governance, that can work then for the time being, you just oversee everything, with the help of the goblin queen interfacing between you and the gobs.
>>
>>1539485
>Also you know there will be some problem between Nadira and the elf lady with your group, when they see one another.

Hmm, that might be a problem. Maybe we should see what we can get from her before sending her back to the settlement?

Maybe we can tell her about how we want to trade iron for things like crossbows and other elven craft from her people in the settlement.

We could give her a wagon and she could transport the goods as a merchant. She could make prodit out of the trade and help both our people and hers while doing so!
>>

>>1539748

You sure? Having a way to grow more food inside of the walls coulf help on a siege, that is why castles had wells and, IIRC, some farms and animals, to last longer.
>>
>>1539771
That is a good point, which is why we should eventually start figuring out how to create underground farms to cover this.
>>
>>1539776
>That is a good point, which is why we should eventually start figuring out how to create underground farms to cover this.

We can start enchanting plants so they feed off of the 'mana' of the evirobment instead of light, which would probably also make them glow and give us light in the underdark, tough we can just make stones or sticks glow.
>>
>>1539746
She'd definitely be open to something like that if it's the duty you want for her.

>>1539759
>>1539771
>62

You plant many of the seeds in a cleared area outside the castle, and let Ruta do her thing. It's a lot of work to expect, but in three days she'll have them all fully grown which works because that's when she expects to leave.
>>
>>1539808
Lets stay with her until it's time to leave
Then we start the orc courting
>>
>>1539797
Which means we're turning most plants into Pseudo-Potatoes, I'm liking what I'm hearin.

>>1539808
So we got basic food and water and the pecking order out of the way. Let's knock out housing and defensive planning.

>Getting everyone housing they can call their own.
>Figuring out who and how the castle will be defended if need be.

I kinda want to handle the scouting and group acceptance for our gorgon last, mostly because if we come across something or someone that just doesn't like us in particular we're gonna need to make sure that our forces can have a chance of handling it, that and if worst comes to worst we'll have spare housing for settlers to replace the ones that either leave or get killed.
If there's more we can add to this or change it cause I'm willing to go with the flow of things.
>>
>>1539808
>but in three days she'll have them all fully grown which works because that's when she expects to leave.

Satisfy her lust each night. This needs a roll?

Make a wagon, fill it with iron ore and iron weapons and items beyond repair. Can we send her with the messaje of our success?
>>
>>1539844
That'll be a three days effort then. How would you like to spend them/what things do you want to work on till then?

>>1539879
You want to do whaaaaaaaAAAAAAAAAAAAT?

>>1539872
Well, you can try and solve those problems. How do you want to? The housing thing isn't such a huge issue since people can just find places to live in the castle, but eventually if you want things to be organized, you'll need to establish living areas. As for defenses, that's totally up to you.
>>
>>1539872
I want to get the elf away from the castle so we can precent Nadira and Sephaly, and explain that she is useful, so it os better if we keep her ignorant, unless we manage to convince her to stay or we would have to keep her against her will, which would make us lose some adbantajes of having her.
>>
>>1539904
>You want to do whaaaaaaaAAAAAAAAAAAAT

Make a wagon. :)
>>
>>1539879
>Can we send her with the messaje of our success?

BTW, I mean her, and some people for protection with the messaje. She would wait until the people with the messaje go to the orc village amd back to the elven settlement, then they would come back together.
>>
>>1539904
Alternate between being sweet to Ruta and courting the priestess
And what the other anons want
>>
Oh, weren't we going to ask Nadira to see the future of the castle? To see if we are going to attacked?

Also, can we ask her to see what is our mother doing? Who she has sent to follow us?
And were that vampire that we met is right now?

Things on the precent first.
>>
>>1539911
Going to be hard, that'll take a few days. It can be done but you'll be making it mostly from scratch. Thankfully you have a lot of skill and labor available.

>>1539917
Yes that's easy enough, just send an orc with her.

>>1539920

Very well, you set everyone on their duties, organize things yourself and spend the rest of the evening keeping Ruta company while she labors with the trees, and followup spending the night with her. You have the safety of the castle now, but you still enjoy the chance to sleep out among the saplings and grasses together, the starry sky just partially visible through openings of the canopy of great trees far, far above.

---

The next morning you're awakened by Nadira, looking quite concerned, enough at least to risk exiting the magical space of the group's coach and being seen. She apologizes for bothering you, it's quite early and you don't expect many others to be awake this early. She wants to talk just with you though about her concerns.

Leaving Ruta to the trees again for now, you follow after Nadira to the coach, where you see Gwen and Sephaly chatting and enjoying breakfast together. You're glad they're getting along, normally Sephaly is so cold and distant.

At any rate, Nadira brings you to her room and listening against the door to make sure, says she divined upon the future of the fort. She got many visions and saw possibilities of what could come depending on what you do. The most prominent ones she was able to write down the rough estimate of, as she shows you the list but realizes you probably can't read her language so reads it aloud for you;

>Hostile intervention from the elves at word of Sephaly getting out, or of the passage to the Underdark.
>Hostile intervention from the orcs at word of you rising in power and attempting to form a tribe.
>Hostile intervention from forest creatures over nature destruction around the area.
>Hostile attack from bandits of the region.
>Hostile attack from forces employed by the evil queen.
>Hostile upwelling from "something" below.
>Individuals going missing, presumed dead, by some strange presence out in the forest.
>A spread of disease, after the isolated and sickly goblins from below now mingle among others of the settlement.
>Groups of people fleeing through the area from something and seeking refuge among you.
>Positive attention from "neighboring" folks at learning of a new settlement in the castle coming into being, and seeking cooperation.
>A massive reconstruction if with the work of some expert on the matter.
>A random, natural collapse of one of the great trees nearby, crushing the castle with its fall and killing many.
>A friendly envoy from the elves which goes poorly at the sight of things they would consider undesirable among your ranks and efforts.

All of these are vague, possible future events which may or may not happen depending on how you act now with the knowledge of them. The only one she sees though for certain, is disconcerting to her. Something to do with the stranger that Eula the changeling encountered during the revelry over a week ago, for which the end result is... she can't really pin it for sure since it wasn't totally clear. But she feared it as a nightmare, a fierce wind, a great shaking of the ground, and fire. Destruction and death seems sure to follow depending on how you alone act, a detail which worries her the most.
>>
>>1540067
She can leave if she wants to
Thank her for the info and retreat to somewhere private
>>
>>1540067
>Call Eula, now.
>Tell her about how we asked Nadira what could attack the castle, and one of the posibilities relates to a person that she met on the revelry.
>"So, a fierce wind, a great shaking of the ground, and fire. Can you please tell me who is this person?"
>>
>>1540087
Leave as in, forever? Either way this is her room, you can leave but she nervously tries to hold onto you. You can tell she also is scared, worried, and hopes for some assurance from you, or at least to know what you plan to do?

>>
>>1540126
>>1540123
You hug Nadira then to make her feel better, and maybe she blushes at your compliment but you can't tell because her skin is so dark. It's still not a great note to leave her on though, fearing the future, but you get to your own room and try to figure out what to do now.

...what do you do now?
>>
>>1540067
>Hostile intervention from the elves at word of Sephaly getting out, or of the passage to the Underdark.

We need to deal with the elf. Still, she has done nothing wrong to us. >>1540126 will do.

>Hostile intervention from the orcs at word of you rising in power and attempting to form a tribe.

We will have to be more selective.

>Hostile intervention from forest creatures over nature destruction around the area.

Let's simply not do that.

>Hostile attack from bandits of the region.

Goblings with crossbows, bitches!

>Hostile attack from forces employed by the evil queen.

Let's be preapred, and hope we have luck.

>Hostile upwelling from "something" below.

The danger was already obvious.

>Individuals going missing, presumed dead, by some strange presence out in the forest.

Nadira can probably get more details lf this creature later.

>A spread of disease, after the isolated and sickly goblins from below now mingle among others of the settlement.

Have the healer prepare potions. Look after those from the cave. Separate them from the rest.

>Groups of people fleeing through the area from something and seeking refuge among you.

We need more food.

>Positive attention from "neighboring" folks at learning of a new settlement in the castle coming into being, and seeking cooperation.

We need to keep the apearences.

>A random, natural collapse of one of the great trees nearby, crushing the castle with its fall and killing many.

You manage to find Eula among the orcs, posing as one of them. You ask her aside though to speak to her. When you bring up the revelry though, she's withdrawn as usual and says she doesn't know what you're talking about. Some sort of danger? Well it could be anything.

Well we still need to have a team meeting to make sure everyone is all right, and to address the rest of the divination. I value your insight, and would like you to be there.

>A friendly envoy from the elves which goes poorly at the sight of things they would consider undesirable among your ranks and efforts.
>Hmm, this one needs more thought.

Let's do what we had planed, to keep good relations with the elves while gathering strengh in secret.

For the underdark, let's make a 'base' at the 'bottom' of the mine, said base would have flood and water for the gobs, but it could also have a hidden entrance to the underdark. Maybe we could also use illusions? I don't know if mages can detect that.

We also need to put magical wards to the castle, especially some against wind and fire.
>>
>>1540462
Yeah I remember CM mentioning that Illusion magic could be detected, we'll be better off with just flooding them and using elemental guards.

That reminds me, I wonder if it's possible to summon water inside a person's lungs, forcing them to hack it up or drown on the spot.
>>
>>1540181
>>1540201
You decide to trust Eula for now, and let her go then, upset as she is. After that you inform the goblin and the brewmaster about the risk of disease and to make preparations. After that you find Ruta and go for a morning stroll around the area, inspecting the giant trees. There is one that she finds, is basically dead, and alarmingly is poised to collapse in the direction of the castle. She can try to nurture the tree but it's an old growth and she won't be staying her long anyway, and also by the sheer size of the thing you don't expect any sort of conventional anchoring system in place to be able to hold it. At least not one you or your group can make by the means you have.

Ruta at least, suggests to preemptively cut it down, and not because she doesn't like old growths either. Better to just fell it in a safe direction than to end up with the castle destroyed by an accident.
>>
>>1540834
But that would probably bring forest attention
If she suggests that we should cut it down then we should, get some Orcs to cut it
>>
>>1540885
Well unless you can come up with some other solution, the alternative is to let the tree fall and destroy the castle.
>>
>>1540906
Do we know of a spell that lets us push stuff? If yes how strong is it?
>>
>>1540906
Ask the elf for advise?

What do their people do in situations like this one? They just cut the tree? Make a controled fire? Either one of the 2 would bring new life to the forest, since more sunlight can reach the ground, only that ashes would also fertilise it, but the risk of the fire going out of cotrol is too big.

So let's cut it, can we aninate ropes tied around the tree to puch it away from the tree as we cut it, or any other way to make it safer? How safe is to cut the tree?

Can we enchant it with magic to mage a magical tree and see what happens?
>>
>>1540916
You do but not more than a couple hundred pounds maybe.

>>1540961
You go and look for the elven woman, finding her cooking breakfast for a number of goblins, whom get angry at you for skipping in line. Between making the food though you're able to talk to her and ask about the tree.

She says normally her people would just let it fall and move out of the way beforehand, or they would seek the services of some entity which could help the tree. In this case, and old growth dryad would be a simple solution. Though she refers to having the resources of a decent settlement, not a little outpost like yours.
>>
>>1541018
Mmm, if we use ropes to tie it to another trees on the oposite side of the castle, and put the earth we take from the ditches in the side fasing the castle, could we be sure that it wouldn't fall towards the castle?

I am not sure of how big it is, or how big our castle is.
>>
>>1541049
We can also weaken one side of the truck and one side of the roots before hand,
>>
>>1541018
We could weaken it then push it with our magic and with some other people while others keep cutting the side opposite of the castle
>>1541054
That's what I was thinking, weaken it on one side so It falls on another direction

Maybe have Ruta push the tree with roots if we get started now and finish the cutting the day she leaves?
>>
>>1541049

>>
>>1541257
If shoring it up is a permanent and safe solution, do that
But if there's still risk just chop it down a different direction
>>
>>1541298
Well it's safe for as long as the reinforcement to the tree lasts. If it is removed or erodes though, or a significant enough force comes along to knock it, the tree will still fall.

There seems to be a general majority at least for felling it, but just in case, at least for today you can work on shoring it up, which is a part of the felling process anyway if you decide to go all the way. You gather up all the orcs available, and healthy goblins willing to help, carting the dirt dug out from around the castle and over to the dying tree in order to shore it up.

>>1541251
In the meantime you try to help out with the sick and ailing goblins, taking time aside with the orc shaman as she tends to their needs. You don't outright just ask her for a relationship, more subtle in expressing your interest. Still, she doesn't take it entirely. Eventually she does realize what you're after, and while she says you're clever and capable for a human and could make a decent husband even to an orc if you had a little meat on your bones, unfortunately by her faith she just isn't willing to give up a proper and fully orcish family as her gods expect of her.

Taking the hint, you figure to maybe start improving your own fitness. It's never been a concern of yours, but out here on your own now (metaphorically speaking) it can only help if you get stronger. Unfortunately you don't really know how to improve on that much, and it's not something you're capable of doing just with magic. However, one of the orc fighters is willing to take time away from all the digging, and put you through some rigorous exercises. Most of them find it hilarious how feeble you are, but you try your hardest and though you exhaust yourself, the fighter orc compliments you and says if you keep it up, maybe someday you can be as strong as a little orc girl even.

That takes up the day then, the settlement will gather among their own for dinner and the like, so you can eat where and with whom you please. After though, are you still wanting to gather your close companions for a meeting about Nadira's visions?

Unlikely but we'll find a way, I can't really say because I don't know how this orcs will behave but when they come we'll deal with them.

>>1541444
Yeah, Gwen and Ruta already know of Sephaly and Nadira, right? If so, they can join.

And eat your companions, too. I assume that the elf and the orcs joins us while eating?

Anyway, we should also exoplain to Nadira and Sephaly that we will integrate them when the elf isn't around.

I understand how you feel anon, but We gotta make sure this motherfuckin nest is made of decentainium before We start on courting our future wife.
>>
>>1541527
I agree.

Right now we need to do various things:
Arm everybody. (Right now, arming every gobling with a crossbow and tackle should inprobe the situation greatly, giving then basic plate armor (breastplate and helmet) also would help.)

Set up patrols.(On day and night, along the walls, corridors, and room entrances)

Put anty-magic defences. (Based only on assumptions, but we should be able to put wards that prevent a mage from blowing up walls like nothing)

Have food and water reserves. (Both on the surface and underground, we need to improbe our 'mining facilities' for that.)

Illumination (Just make glowing stones, pic related. Also, we can probable use them (or glass balls) and gold to have the elves make fansy looking lanterns)

Also, if we have glass and gold, and give it to the elves and they make a latern
>>
>>1541616
Hold on on those patrols, remember the thing about people going missing?
>>
>>1541738

>>
>>1541356
>Also, we are using D&D magic, right?

That is correct, though there are only three conventional magic users of the settlement; you, Nadira, and one of the goblins. Creating food and water is a divine spell though, so only Gwen, the orc shaman, and a goblin shaman can do that. It's pretty easy for them though.

>>1541451
The mirror, right. Well Nadira can examine it, make a roll for her ability to deduce the purpose.

>>1541510
>we have to get started on them now

Just a reminder that the character is only 17, if that matters.

>>1541518
>I assume that the elf and the orcs joins us while eating?

Normally yes but it sounds like you'd rather have a proper meal with your close companions this time, which would mean including Sephaly and Nadira? In that case, you probably won't want to eat with the orcs and definitely not the elf.

>>1541616
Those things you can see about tomorrow.

For now, you eat with everyone, and then gather for a group meeting among your friends. They're all intent to listen what you have to say, though Nadira is reluctant to speak up about her visions you notice.

By Nadira's scrutiny, she believes the mirror to be an aptly named looking glass. That is, somewhere else is another mirror just like this one, through which viewing is possible. Actually, can she use her divination to see if it is dangerous? I assume that not since she said it was just a looking glass, and she didn't mention it among the probable dangers of the castle.

Still, are there acoints of bad things happening because of looking glasses? Especially because of looking mirrors? Like, what is in the other side can also look at us?

If so, don't activate it. What other items do we have?

You explain Nadira's vision of the castle's near future then to the gathered others. The news is met with various reactions ranging from fear to determination. A pretty consistent matter comes up though, as to why not just leave the castle then, if the place is so dangerous? Is it worth the risk? You can't really get an individual idea of each person though, just a group trend. Individuals would require speaking with them one on one.

>>1542102
You can try to search for something like that. From what little you heard just from the gobs though, the castle was in pretty poor condition when they found it, but the signs were strange. From what locations fared better overtime, it looked like the inhabitants of the place just up and left one day.

Ok, let me explain something about this to all players.

If we do this and 1 of us rolls a 50 or more, we will end up with kids.

So, if we do this, let's agree an who rolls, and only that anon rolls.

>>1542316
And what place do they suggest, that would let us gather strengh and hide from the elves will also getting the benefits of being his allies?

This place's worth consist on how it can be used to expand underground, and since our plan is ti gather hidden strengh, this is the ideal place.

However, we understand their worries, and we aren't fools. If the elves, or the orcs, or the underdark come and attack us before we have the strenght to stand against them, we will obviously go to other places.

So, this place is worth is as long as we know and manage how to keep it's true value hidden.

Anyway, what do they suggest then? The plains? Where the elves are more friendly towards our people? We would still need to find a place were to hide, but we could probably organise an exodus.

Oh and for an earlier request, here is the map of the continent. Currently you and your followers are in the upper left portion of the green nation, the elven domain.
>>
>>1542476
>Well you raise a good point about being able to hide from the elves, but more than one of the group asks why not keep going then? If the elves are coming to dominate your worries and concerns, why not just move on then? Either to a place in the forest where there's less of them, or just out of the elven domain?

Well, there is another option, to settle entirely on the underdark. After all, that why we choce to stay in this castle in the first place.

Keeping a facade for the elves was just a secondary option, which would let us get the fenefits of trading with them.

This, obviusly, presents a problem, which is that we don't know what we can find in the underdark.

If it was more than we can handle, we will leave no matter what, since the only value of this place is the underdark.

If we can benefit from it, however, we could do as we had planned, which is to have a two-faced settlement which let us benefit from the elves, or just seal the entrance settle completly underground.

Once we do this, however, we would lose our ability to gather more orcs or trade with the elves. In other words, we would have a harder time getting more people or outfitting them, again, depending on what we find down there.

We don't need elven crafthmanship, but it helps.

And, if we are ever faced with a big treath from below or above, we would have an escape route. So even if somebody comes and takes the castle, we can seal the entrance to the underground. That, of course, if we have a settlement there.

So, can we agree to take this desicion once we know if this place is worth is in the first place? If not, we can see about cutting interactions with the surface once we have enough men and resources (and preferably, a settlement below).

Unless you still want to leave, in which case we will find another place, though findong one with such potential would be difficult, but not imposible.
>>
>>1545904
Which were the counties and their descriptions?
>>
>>1545913
They were, in relation to the borderlands (yellow);

>Myriline, the red nation to the southeast of similar climate to the borderlands. Mostly various human city states.
>Dowen Belda, the green nation to the east of vast and deep forests. Mostly elves though other races are in fair abundance, particularly towards the coast. Overall not too populated.
>Castylene, the little pink island to the south.
>Estir, the maroon nation to the south of arid to desert climate. The coast is well populated and closer to temperate living thanks to barrier mountains, beyond though just vast desert.
>Old Eswen, the brown "nation" in the mountains to the north. Used to be grand and wealthy human domain, shared in part by dwarves. Now mostly ruined because of the dragons, just land devoted to sustaining them, lived and worked by subservient humans and other folks.
>Manaras, the salmon nation in the mountains to the north. An decently propsperous but insular people, because of geographic isolation they don't deal much with other nations.
>Estania, the peach nation to the east of a mix of climates. The most prominent of the great human nations.
>>
>>1546027
Also several of these were come up with on the fly, so are subject to change/correction.
>>
>>1546027
>Castylene, the little pink island to the south.

What is in there?

>Old Eswen, the brown "nation" in the mountains to the north. Used to be grand and wealthy human domain, shared in part by dwarves. Now mostly ruined because of the dragons, just land devoted to sustaining them, lived and worked by subservient humans and other folks.

So the dragons took it by force? So I assume that they at least are intelgent. How powerful and how many are the dragons in there?
>>
>>1545910
Im fine with staying honestly
What was the ritual for? To know if we're blessed or something?
>>1546027
Would being blessed help with recruiting the orcs?
>>
>>1546218
>What is in there?

A haven of piracy! The evil queen tolerates its presence partly out of respect of a similar style of governance, partly out of an uneasy truce.

Name change to Narvasa though!

As for Eswen, yes the old dragon king led an effort which laid waste to the land and conquered it. As for how many dragons there are, you don't know, you'd probably have to ask a dragon that. For power though, they're fairly high on the scale. Obvious physical might, and magically resistant. They live for a long time and are quite intelligent, so they are a force to be reckoned with for sure.

>>1546220
Gwen believes that you are blessed by a deity. Because the supposedly miraculous acts you performed also involved Ruta however, she can't tell if specifically you are the blessed one, if Ruta is, or if you both are.

There are various ways which can confirm this, but Gwen being a wild fertility shaman has a pretty simple and obvious (you can probably guess) ritual which could confirm it. Though like any act of sleeping with someone, there's risk of consequences, like more little fauns scampering around and calling you daddy. Even more a risk, as Gwen herself is none other than a fertility shaman so that's in her domain of practice/worship.

As for the orcs, well being blessed certainly can't hurt your efforts. It may not just blindly attract hordes of them to you, but they'll definitely regard you with more respect and attention. Some of them at least.
>>
>>1546220
It would help with some forest creatures and probably some elves. Only 'some' because if we use it it would be during or after our war with the elves once we gather enough power as a nation undergorund (if we deside to expand upwards in the first place).

Also, the gathering of the greenies in the forest has to be done hidden from the elves and other greenies.

Also, that was more like our reasons for the characters. Which reminds me, whe should ask Eula about her opinion.

OP, can Nadira help us know what is below? I suppoce it would also have to do with looking back at the history of the castle.

Also, did Nadita know if these were orcs from another place, or among those in the forest?
>>
>>1546305
>OP, can Nadira help us know what is below?

Of course but she can only do one thing at a time. Currently you asked her to look back at the past history of the castle. If you want you can ask her to do this instead of that.

Or yes, she can also look into the orcs. Though on that matter, which orcs are you talking about?
>>
>>1546296
>They live for a long time and are quite intelligent, so they are a force to be reckoned with for sure.

Lickeness of victory of 500 orcs in armor and artillery (ballistas?) against a dragon?
What if the dragon can't fly/escape?

I just want to know if we can draw them in numbers. It is not the same if arrows bouns off of them that if shooting at them from all sides make them feel like having needles all over their bodies.
>>
>>1546332
Depends entirely on the age of the dragon. They improve in all ways with age. Your described force could probably take on an adolescent dragon if it couldn't fly. By the time of reaching adulthood though, most conventional weapons would not harm it.
>>
>>1546314
>Or yes, she can also look into the orcs. Though on that matter, which orcs are you talking about?

Oh, well, I suppoce that (later) we could ask her if trying to gather the greenies from the forest in secret would/could attract the atention of orcs tribes that may attack us. Then again, those greenies would go to the underdark, so...

Also, one of the main probles greenies have with the underdark is ilumination, right? Can we just set up glowing stones as laterns along the cave walls?

Also, would enchanted plants need fertile grounds, or can they just live on magic? It is safe to eat from them?

>If you want you can ask her to do this instead of that.

Seems good to me.
>>
>>1546354
Illumination is one part, yes. A lighting system would be a great help to everyone.

And while plants can live on just magic, they would need constant care to do so. Much better to have as many requirements as possible, thereby needing less magic and attention.

As for Nadira, she'll try to gaze below then and see what lies beneath this evening. It will require a roll for her success though.

---

Anyway so resuming play, you've met with everyone and talked about Nadira's visions of the castle future, and heard their opinions. It seemed there was some interest to seek action with Gwen, but is there an agreement on this? Or did you wish to do anything else, while everyone is gathered for the meeting?

Well it's a roll for Nadira anyway. So you want to go through with this thing with Gwen then? She doesn't seem bothered by it at all though, and says if you're still interested and still think it will help, then she'll perform the ritual. She asks if you want anyone else to be there though? So trying not to seem like you're looking forward to this, you tell Gwen you want to go through with it. Again, she's surprisingly ok with it, like the same as if you'd asked her to do the dishes or something. She says she needs to get some things in order for the ritual but to meet her outside the castle in some fifteen minutes.

Trying to not get too carried away then, you use this time to tell Ruta about it, expecting her to come with. She's actually not interested though, saying there's something she has to do, but that you can just go through with it without her. You can tell though, she seems a little saddened by this, but tries not to let on. Feeling a bit bad yourself, you next go looking for the orc shaman and find her settling in for the night, though you prod her about the ritual. She doesn't seem that interested either, but for the sake of what you're trying to prove, and for some understanding of the wild gods Gwen follows she finally says she will. She's none too pleased about it though, and says to give her a bit to get up and dressed again.

So after that, well you're not sure what else you should do so you just leave things like any armaments behind, down to just your normal clothes. Not like you expect to need them but again, you don't want to just show up looking like you're expecting to have a good time. Finally you make your way to the castle gate and wait outside for a bit. Gwen is soon to join you with a bag, and a staff, and with the two of you waiting another ten minutes or so, the orc shaman joins the two of you. Together, Gwen says you'll head out into the forest to find a place for the ritual together, and if you're ready to go?

You have some second thoughts about all this after seeing how Ruta took it, but with the other two there and ready to go you just decide to go along with it.

So the three of you head off a little ways into the woods, till Gwen finds a spot she thinks will do. A little embarrassing then, when she undresses completely and tells you to do the same, so she can mark, and annoint your bodies properly for the ritual with a reddy clay-based paint and some sort of sap derived wash. It puts you a little on edge to have her going over your body with her hands like that, even more to see her before you doing the same herself. She can sense you're nervous though and tries to ease your worry, mixing and serving a rather potent drought which is necessary for the ritual. It's important for the activity you're to undergo together, but also has some drugged qualities. It definitely helps you relax, in conjunction with her leaning against your back while you sit and she weaves a crown of herbs through your hair. The same for her, though she gets it for her legs too since those are furred, and you can imagine if either of you had more she'd weave more for you.

So after the both of your bodies are ready, she then prepares the area, using the staff to draw across the ground a pretty basic but carefully made symbol. This is followed by a few small piles of some various dried plants which she ignites, and then performs a ritualistic chant and simple dance around the circle. It must be practiced you think, but there's clearly no proper form to it, in line with the wild nature of the faith she follows. It's strangely enchanting though, and alluring to you, but you can't help but be distracted by the signs of the environment. You're not sure if it's the smoke from the small fires, or the effects of the potion you shared with her, but things start to take on a hazy, almost spiritual quality. Like you're in dream, everything is more intense to your senses, and even the area responds as the smoke whirls and converges to various shapes and patterns, and a gathering of many fireflies twirling in patterns all their own have near a hypnotizing effect.

You're attention is drawn finally to Gwen though, when nearing the end of her dance she reaches out and pulls you to your feet, bringing you into the circle with her as everything spins and blurs around the two of you. Just you and her it feels like, her hands holding onto you as she finishes the dance around you, and lowers to the ground pulling you to your knees after her. It seems everything has led up to this moment now, as she rests on her back amid the grass and moss and dirt, inviting you to join her with welcome body.

Your mind is a fever of thoughts and emotions as you kneel between her legs, but when you see her looking up at you (you think, her long scruffy hair always obscures her eyes) and she gently grabs your arms, you gaze lowers to her body before you and your mind simplifies to what your body wants.

Lowering then to join your body with hers, you have some initial difficulty actually uniting since her fur is disorienting to you, so to speak. She has a laugh about it though and helps you find the way, as you finally join together and savor the moment. Your only experience in love so far has been with Ruta, whom is a lovely creature no doubt but still a plant, a tree at the end of the day. Gwen though is a fellow animal, a fellow mammal. It wouldn't be fair to try and compare such different things, but flesh to flesh is a different feeling entirely. It even takes some getting used to at first but Gwen is endlessly accommodating, savoring the moment just the same. Eventually though she asks if you're ready without actually speaking, and together you begin the act itself. A strange experience because as you might have expected but weren't actually prepared for, Gwen doesn't seem invested in the same way you are. It's not as if she's uninterested, but like how you asked her and she was casually ok with the whole thing, it seems for her the ritual is just another activity, as simple as washing clothes or sweeping up. It seems just a purely mechanical act for her, and while she's never not accommodating or invested in her own way, you imagine if the end result could be reached without the act then she'd be fine with that. All this is just a step along the path to the goal, a natural detail in the biological process. Maybe if this wasn't a ritual and just the two of you as normal lovers, it would be different. But in this instance, it's a life ritual, plain and simple.
>>
>>1547653
By contrast though, while you don't want to show her up or ruin the ritual, you just do what you know. And what you know is what Ruta taught you, which is to take care of your partner. You don't try to think about things, or consider the situation, you just do what comes naturally and what your limited experience is. By contrast because of this, you end up outperforming Gwen, in the most basic way of putting it. In a better sense, she's just trying to reach the end goal whereas you're actually trying to make love, so one of you is bound to be taken for a ride by the other and this time it's her. It's no slim picking for you either though, as you drive the pace and in the euphoric haze of the act, shared drug concoction, and the ritual itself, the two of you share an amazing experience and get lost in the feeling of each other, together, and are overtaken by the swelling of life energy as you bring her to the edge and then push her over. If there was any break in the ritual, this is it, as she can't help but cry out and pull you close, holding onto you with her familiar human upper half, and the wild power of her animal lower half. A very physical reminder as you are buried in that fur, of the wild intrusion and nature of the ritual, the act, and even Gwen herself.

By your own effort you managed to outlast her, as she just holds onto you. Such close contact though, and in the heat of the act which hasn't died down, you don't last much longer yourself. The purpose of the ritual though was to learn something, not reach the intended purpose you hope. She's got you locked in pretty fiercely though, so to speak, her lower animal strength greater than yours. Feeling your limit approaching, you don't have the time or inclination to calm things down or politely ask her for permission. You just struggle against her as best you can, though she is quickly aware of this and fights back, holding onto and pulling you as close as she can, as strong as she can with eager joy. A battle of sorts ensues, your bodies interlocked but fighting against one another, each wanting something different. You stand no chance against her greater strength and can't manage to separate entirely, only barely can you withdraw just in time, and avoid planting your seed in the most fertile place possible at the moment.

By avoiding so, you end up making a mess between the two of you, though it easily mixes among the dirt, sweat, smeared paint and other grimy mess of your bodies from the act, exhausted as you both are from it and collapse atop her own worn out body. She seems disappointed that you didn't properly complete the ritual as expected, but the experience was an amazing one and true to the nature of the ritual so she lets it slide, just a contented smile amid her heavy panting. It's hard not to share her feelings, as the two of you lay awash in the literal afterglow of the ritual, the emotional and sensational haze only barely subsiding with time as you feel greatly enlivened by an upwelling of life energy shared between the two of you.
>>
>>1547797
>Now what?
>>
>>1547865
Taking the time to settle down and catch your breaths again, you wonder what happens after that and if anything is supposed to become clear. The truth is actually a little underwhelming, as Gwen pats you to get you to separate from her so she can sit up and examine the are around you. Moving over to see where the two of you had laid, she looks at the small overgrowth of grasses and particularly moss right where she'd been laying, as well as the gathering of all sorts of insects and the approach of nocturnal animals. Neither of you are dryads, so a gathering of animals is one thing, but the only way to explain the plant overgrowth, is because of a blessing. To her, that confirms it, that you at least have favor of the god. Maybe Ruta could share in that blessing, but she knows for sure, at least to herself that you are blessed. She proceeds to do various other things and tests of the preparations to the area for the ritual to double check, meanwhile you just sit there feeling pretty good about yourself, about everything. Finally you notice and remember the orc shaman sitting nearby to watch, looking over to her again. She's her usual stern-looking self, but is badly concealing how hot and bothered she clearly is by what she watched take place. You can't help laugh a little, but she just defiantly tries to look as serious as always, hiding any feelings, and simply asks you what's so funny?

Just because you're blessed by some wild spirits or lesser deity, doesn't mean you're blessed by the orc gods, she defends herself!

At any rate you'd like to get cleaned up, but currently are unable to so have to settle with being dirty while dressed. Gwen seems totally fine still dirty and unclothed as she is though, and you try to look around and maybe help out if you can. Naturally curious though you ask her what this all means, about the god and whatnot. Pretty simple she explains, you are blessed by her god which as a rare thing indeed for anyone, or any god. How you interpret that or what you choose to do with it is your choice, if you believe in such things. She, believes though that you're an instrument of said god whom has a plan for you. So so it seems.

While walking back with Gwen and trying to understand what all this means, you notice the orc shaman a short distance ahead. Having a humorous idea, you speed up a little to reach her and give her a playful smack on the behind. This clearly startles her as she stifles a yelp, and rounds on you with a mix of anger and shocked disbelief at your audacity. Grabbing you by the shirt, she seems likely to destroy you, but seeing your playful reaction to it, she livens up ever so slightly and eases up enough to let you go with a soft chuckle of her own. Once back to walking again, she wonders aloud if all humans are as audacious as you are.

At any rate, the three of you return to the castle for the night. The orc shaman apologizes and says she guesses you were telling the truth, and maybe she was wrong about you. Quickly she corrects herself and says she hasn't changed her mind, she still wants a fine orc partner, but maybe you're not so bad either. Gwen meanwhile says she wants to go find a stream or pond or something to wash up in, a fair observation that you as well are just as dirty, just wearing clothes to hide it.
>>
>>1549165
Lets go with her if there's no place to wash up in the castle
Keep it friendly and nothing else, we also have to go back to Ruta as soon as possible
>>
>>1549357
Well the castle doesn't have an infrastructure set up yet for something like that, a bath or anything like that. Let alone a hot one. So you bid the orc shaman goodnight and thank her again for her patience, after which to leave after Gwen once she drops off all her belongings.

Together you wander the forest for awhile again, looking for a water source. You actually find a pond together but she'd prefer running water so after another half-odd hour you manage to locate a stream, after traipsing through the dark forest. There's some animals nearby, like a big stag but it doesn't seem to mind as long as you keep your distance. Gwen meanwhile takes to the stream gladly, after first testing and wincing a little at the water. She lets you know it's cold, but not much else can be down about that without magic or something akin. At any rate she splashes along till finding a deeper little side portion and wades in up to her stomach about, and invites you after if you want to get clean too. A weird sight you realize though looking at her, with her bottom half submerged she looks strikingly like just a normal woman from here. Well, apart from some other goaty features like the horns and shaggy hair.
>>
>>1549473
Sure, join and get clean.
>>
>>1549484
You throw your clothes off then and join her in the deeper part of the stream, and agree with her that yes, indeed it is pretty cold. It takes a minute to adjust, but then you are still a little sweaty from the earlier "activity". In a way though it's really nice, you're more than exhausted after all the strenuous effort of the day, including working out trying to get fit earlier with that orc fellow.

A nice chance to relax, and if you had anything you wished to talk to Gwen about, or ask her, now would be the chance to do so.
>>

>>1549165
>>
>>1549591
While washing yourself from the days ordeals, you get to talking with Gwen. Now knowing that you have a god's blessing, she does feel compelled to stay and capitalize on that, however she'll do whatever you want her to since you're the leader of this whole settlement effort.

As for the orc shaman, she didn't know you were interested, but have you tried talking to and getting to know her? See what she likes and try to be that? If not, you could always drug her with a love potion or something like that.
>>
>>1549617
>Why do you say that? She sounded pretty open to it in

Well, she already explained that her believes were against that, and I get the impresion that that is why she has been so reserved.

Also, she if she doesn't follow the rules of her orcish religion, it could easily lead to disapproval and misstreatment from other orcs, though I don't know how that would be in this setting. Maybe we should ask OP?

>>
>>1549661
You finished getting washed and clean, and Gwen follows after as you get dressed, putting a little distance between the two of you while she shakes her bottom half off. Going back through the forest together, conversing more as you go. About halfway back though, Gwen stops you short and listens out for something. Quickly she rushes to hide behind a tree and obviously prompts you to follow. It seems like it's all over nothing, but eventually she catches sight of it and you follow her gaze. A pretty ghastly sight, of several creatures shambling through the forest ahead of you. You'd assume undead, so Gwen was probably right to hide. Together you wait for some time till the dead things are gone, and then return the rest of the way to the castle. Once there, Gwen thanks you for the night then and gives you a peck on the cheek, saying she knows you two shared a deep emotional and physical bond earlier, but if you don't want anything to come from it she understands, and is happy just to maintain the same relationship you currently have.

Her words aren't unwelcome either, as after experiencing such an intimate bond, your young heart can't help but feel something for her. Still, you know what the purpose of the ritual was and hope that in time, those feelings will settle down again. For now, more on your mind though is Ruta, as you go looking for her, and eventually find her tending to the trees again. They're all of a decent size now, another day of this and they'll be fully grown. Ruta either doesn't notice, or intentionally doesn't react to your approach, till you're right near her and she can't help but notice. She feigns happiness at seeing you again, but you can sense she's upset as before. Really though you're just here to be with her again, and snuggle up together for the night. By the look of things though, she may not be so keen on that.
>>
>>1549706
That's sort of in the sense of, if you were an orc she'd definitely be interested. As it is though, she's willing to be a better friend at least, but she's still devoted and religious.

It's probably not impossible that you could work something out with her, but she'll be compromising things about herself to have something with a non-orc.
>>
>>1549725
>By the look of things though, she may not be so keen on that.

You mean that she is giving that impresiom by the way she is acting, or by the look of things in general?

Have we already shown that we wanted to sleep together?
>>

You try to be direct with Ruta, and though she's avoidant at first she finally admits she's unhappy of what you did with Gwen and asks why you don't go and snuggle with her if you want to cozy up with someone.

You suppose you do feel a little bad about it, and though she said she didn't mind if you did it, she thought you'd have waited till she'd left and been gone for some time and not something you'd come and tell her about. Almost like asking for permission. She wonders if you know, or cared what she did while you were with Gwen.
>>
>>1550229
And this, folks, is why I wanted to wait.

*Sigh* Ok, let's see if we can fix this.

>>1550229
>She wonders if you know, or cared what she did while you were with Gwen.

We have no way of knowing, but we obviously care, since we care about her. We didn't understand how she would feel and we are deeply sorry, we mustn't have acted like that and don't know what we can do to make up for it. But we wanted to let her know if we were blessed or not, we felt like she had the right to know, so we went for the fastest option. And since we though that she cared of what we did, and had the right to know, we told her.

Now we see that it was foolish, that we should have waited until the next time that we saw her. There is no way to undo what has been done, but if she kind find a place in her heart to forgive our navines, then we promise to improbe, to not let this happen again. If she needs time, or can't bring herself to do so, we understand, and hold no grudge against her, for we know that we deserve it.

There, maybe I went in cirqules without realising while writing this, so if it is a little to long, feel free to resume it, as long as the core messaje is there.

You try to apologize to her about it, but you also don't just roll over and beg for her forgiveness. After all, she did say it was alright and it was only for the ritual to know the truth (even if you enjoyed it for obvious reasons) rather than you going after Gwen instead.

As much as you try to claim it didn't mean anything though and that it was a mistake, in a way that also makes it bad, if you can just casually do something so meaningful but to think of it as a mistake and that it didn't mean anything to you. She wonders then if what the two of you had didn't mean anything? She doesn't mean that but says so in the heat of the moment.

In the end, she halfheartedly accepts your apology, but it doesn't do much for her feelings. She says she thought you were different and that the two of you had a special bond, but she thinks now you're just like the other humans, good for loving but not for love. She isn't grudging over it, but she doesn't feel the same way she felt about the relationship before, it isn't love. But then, maybe it never was, she just wanted to believe it could be.

She's fine to go to sleep together then if you want, but that's your choice. You don't expect it will make things better.

But we only wanted to let her know of the blessing, that is why we didn't want for it to mean something greath for us, that is why we distanced ourselves from the act. We were ready to put something so meaningful aside for her, because she meant more than that to us.

She is unique, and we feel towards her like we never felt flr other woman in our life, and we are sure that that is love. It wasn't just the act of loving, we feel a deep emothional conection with her.

What we felt was not an illusion, but maybe we aren't as good at loving as showing so.

For that, for not thinking how she would feel about this, is for what we where sorry for.

You try to explain further, but her reasoning is simple; if you truly loved her you wouldn't have done what you did, or at least in the way you did it.

Fed up trying to defend yourself and without much in the way of being able to further justify your actions, you take the fight to her so to speak, drawing her close to look in her eyes and making fun of her for blowing up this whole deal more than it really is. Before she can react, you give her a kiss, which she's resistant to at first but comes to accept and return. If only for a second you'd think she'd forgiven you entirely, till you mention that you managed to withdraw. She just laughs at this and shoves, you calling you an evil bastard before accepting your apology again and agreeing to go to sleep together.

---

The next morning she's awakened by an animal passing through the grove of trees, but stirs you as well since you might as well get up. She seems less bitter about things, but still makes fun of you, saying you'll probably want to go have breakfast with your new goat lover why not?
>>
>>1550989
Lets get up and hold hands while we go get breakfast together
While we're there relay the information to the queen and organize a speech with her to let everyone know about the things we saw last night, we need everyone to be careful and to not go outside during the night unless it's absolutely necessary
>>
>>1551065
You're referring to the undead?

Well you get up with Ruta and she was going to stay and tend to the trees more since this'll be her last day here, but all the more reason to spend it with her. She won't go to any breakfast though, for concern of crossing paths with Gwen. If you want to come back here after though she'll be around.

At any rate over eating you speak with some of the others about what you saw, but when you get to the goblins there's some going around. You're not sure exactly what it is, but you get asked by one, in their belief that they thought you were exclusive to the dryad? They quickly hush up though when someone else hears and tells them so.

Weird, whatever that was, but you meet with the queen and talk to her about it, and she shares in the speaking, and breaking the news to everyone about the strange things you saw in the forest last night. As such, you stress importance towards everyone being careful, especially outside the castle and especially at night.
>>
>>1551158
Ask if the Gobs are doing all right? Is the disease under control?
And mention what happened with the Gobs during breakfast, what was all that about?
>>
>>1551203
So far so good, any which were obviously sick have been separated and are recovering, or being put out of their misery. Beyond that they're just keeping an eye out for any who are getting sick or could become sick.

As for the gossip, you can ask the queen but she turns a darker shade of green in the face, clearly embarrassed. She has to contemplate for awhile how to say it, and stutters to do so, but apparently one of the goblins followed you last night and spied on what was happening. Since then the word has spread around about you and Gwen and given rise to juicy gossip.

Above it all you try to ask the queen to have her stop the gossip but she says if she tries that it will just make them gossip even more. And anyway, she's busy trying to break up the fight that's now erupted over your actions.

You bid her well, gather some food and make your way back to the orchard to Ruta, there to her word tending the trees. They're basically fully grown now but she hopes to make double sure and fully complete by noon-ish.

>>1551336

Well of the basic list, and what you've managed to complete;

>Getting everyone ok with Sephaly the gorgon so she doesn't have to keep hiding. Also you know there will be some problem between Nadira and the elf lady with your group, when they see one another.
In progress...

>Setting up a proper method of governance and leadership, who does what and who's in charge.
Partially done.

>Getting everyone housing they can call their own.
Enough for everyone currently in the settlement. Restoring the castle though will provide for more.

>Seeing about food and water, the supplies you have won't last long with so many new goblins to feed now.
In progress. You're breaking even with hunting, so some farming would help. The trees Ruta is seeing to will be a welcome addition though.

>Figuring out who and how the castle will be defended if need be.
In progress, you still haven't obtained all the armaments like crossbows.

>Scouting the area around the castle, see who or what is within the immediate region.
Incomplete.

>Send a messenger to the orc village about your success.
Incomplete
>>
>>1551373

Ask our most capable Orc to deliver the message and spend the rest of the day with Ruta
>>
>>1551373
Start making the wagon and collecting items and equipement that have broken down and are now beyond repair, (for the orc blacksmith).

Send messanger along with elf. The elf can wait for the crossbows and tackles to be made while the messangers goes to the orc villages and tells them of our success.

The wagon has been worked upon for a few days now, they expect it done by tomorrow, same with the ditches dug and the dirt piled up for the dying giant tree. The elf woman and an orc can depart with the goods intended for trade.

You also take the chance to speak with Eula, once you manage to find her. She's doing alright, but does complain about a lack of anything to do. She doesn't feel like her skills are being put to use, when she's just sitting around here all day, instead of elsewhere doing something.

After speaking with Eula though you can go and find that one goblin and try to pick her up.
>>
>>1551956
Lets do it!
And hang out with Ruta too
Then fast forward to when the messenger comes back from the other Orc Lady
>>
>>1551956
Tell her that she is alright, but right now we don't have any need to infiltrate anywhere. Once we know about the underdark, though, maybe she will be able to help.

You know, infiltrating in the grouo to get information before doing first contact/attacking.

For now, though, we are traing to stay away from the elves. Though, if we find something more aquin to a town that a small settlement, having somebody inside could help.

She could also probably get information from the elven settlement on the giant tree, but only as a person that comes and goes, a traveller. Otherwise it would be suspicious. (For a person to sudenly disapear.)

You let Eula know her skills will be appreciated in due time, for now though you're just settling into things.

Aside of that then, how would you like to while away the time when the wagon is gone? It will be about two weeks till their return. If all things go well, the elf should be bringing back a complement of arms from the elves. Should the orc going with her, seek anything from the orcs?

And yeah, feel free to specify yours and others' focus on effort for the coming weeks.
>>

So your priority for the coming weeks is to continue getting fit, and getting to know better some folks of the settlement. You do keep to the fitness work, but it will take several months to show improvement.

Still, even besides that, you spend time when you can with the orc shaman, and get to knowing one another better. By the passing of the second week you're both decently friend, and you know her better than any of the other orcs at least, save for maybe the one helping you to get fit.

As well you also become friendlier with the goblins whom enjoy the chance, and while you'd just wanted to focus on the one who stood up for you, before long you're often got a collection of goblins following you around like a little fan club, wanting to be carried, wanting to help, and wanting to carry out your will. You wouldn't call them minions, but you wonder if the evil queen feels this way.

And so at long last the time whiles away, and the elf returns with her wagon full of goods, at the cost of all your valuables. She brings however enough weapons to arm a defensive goblin force with elven-made crossbows and a complement of bolts, along with simple armor for all of them. It's no army, but it's certainly an effective defense against common foes. Now only the orcs remain improperly armed, though you know they can often enough hold their own in a fight.

The missing element though is the orc you sent with the elf, and when asked, she says he stayed behind at the orc village to help with a problem they were facing. What that is you wonder, but not for long because about two days later you're face with a large group of people; near enough half of the population of the village, here as refugees having fled their home settlement and seeking help.
>>
>>1554055
Oh shit
Go outside with the queen on our shoulders and ask them what happened?
>>
>>1554085
Only if the newcomers see it as a friendly game
>>
>>1554085
In case someone more official is needed, you find and gather up the goblin queen who is quite flustered by the act, and struggles and fights against you like a small child to be put down. Once you get outside though and face the refugees, her embarrassment turns to nervousness, as you hold your hands out for her to stand on and elevate her to a height enough to address them all.

Among the refugees is the orc leader you're familiar with, as she would think to speak with you but seems to recognize the goblin queen as the authority here. At any rate, the situation is explained, as a conflict which cost many lives and caused the orcs to flee here from their village. Apparently, their ownership over the divine tree was contested by the elves when they found out, and so the elves attacked in force to claim the tree. Almost half of the settlement either died in the fighting, were scattered or fled. Those here now are those who managed to escape and regroup, unable to think of any other place to go which might be friendly. And so the leader beseeches the goblin queen for safety and accommodation. Feeling a bit full of herself now though, the queen enjoys the power to deny them, and plays around with it for a bit before reluctantly deciding to allow the orc refugees to at least camp outside the castle, and once things are figured out and their worth (and loyalty) is secure then they can come inside to live.
>>
>>1554102
Set the Queen down and tell her it's rude to do that, do it with those mom-ish scolding moves, then pick her up again and set her down at the door

After that apologize to the Leader, we didn't think our tree would cause so much trouble for them, for now they should camp out here while we see if we have any extra space inside

Very well, you succeed in putting the little green queen in her place, taking her back to the castle and setting her down as you scold her. Tears well in her eyes and her lip quivers, like a naughty child caught doing something bad. Hugging onto your leg she cries her eyes out, apologizing profusely and begging for forgiveness, hoping you don't hate her now. Between crying gasps she struggles to say how she just wanted to be a good leader like you and follow your advice/take after your example.
>>
>>1554229
Remind her she's not the only leader here, we both oversee things here and she should ask for our take on things before making a decision, then order her to go to her room while we talk with the orcs

Check if we have any extra space to take any inside then help the rest set up their tents with our orcs
>>
>>1554261
You remind her of her place, but a fair point that she technically should have more authority than you when it comes to others of her own kind, goblins and orcs and such.

Either way though you ground her and send her off to her room, while you return to speak with the orcs. The leader is glad to see you and thankful for your assistance. There is in fact room for all of them in the castle, which would occupy a lot of empty space quite nicely. It's your choice though if you want all of them inside in one go. They're fine either way, just thankful for the help at all since going to other orc groups may be met with hostility.
>>
>>1554293
Yeah, they can go in
Form a line! Then ask what are they good at before directing them to their quarters as they come in

Once they're settled in pull aside the leader and go to the Queen's room so we can discuss how things are going to be handled
>>
>>1554307
There's about 50 of them, mostly women and children, but among them you can find a full complement of skills available to orcs. Should you need something, chances are good that among them you can find it. So you accept them to stay in the castle and to form a line as best they can, welcoming them in and helping them settle, for which most if not all thank you personally for.

While that is being taken care of then, you ask the leader to accompany you to the queen's room where you find her bawling her eyes out in a pillow on her bed, but with a panicked shriek tries to hide this fact. For a time as you'd expect she just tries to not be noticed as much as possible while you discuss things with the orc leader. As for how things are going to be handled, she sorely laughs about how the fates are turned, and though she may command the orcs here she supposes herself to be at your mercy. Certainly out of gratitude, she feels compelled to exalt you as a leader above her, at least for the castle and settlement here. Until such a time, if ever, that she and her can leave to find their own way again.
>>
>>1554331
Would her orcs be okay with us calling the shots? We could annex her to our system, the queen oversees the Gobs, we oversee the ones that came with us and she handles her own

Ask their opinions about this, do they think this'll work? Would the orc leader prefer to command the orcs altogether and have us as a intermediary?
Do they have any proposals?
Or let the orcs decide who they want?
>>
>>1554356
The leader speaking with the queen and how things have been going so far, they come to the agreement that if the system in place works, then there's no need to change it.

Something like, you are the ruler of the settlement, while they each govern all the orcs and goblins respectively, both in their ease of working with their own people and also to take the burden off your shoulders. They just ask that you don't act like a despot and order the two of them around specifically, otherwise it will weaken their position for their own people. Rather you and them just talk and ask things of one another rather than order it.

Does that seem fine to you, they wonder? At the end of the day you're the one to give the final say since it is your castle after all.
>>
>>1554381
Oh of course we're fine with that, we also haven't actively ordered anyone around on purpose, i hope
Except for the queen a few minutes ago but that was justified

Also ask the leader about what happened exactly, how did it go so bad and such
Also her name if we don't have
Because I can't remember it if she indeed gave it to us
>>
>>1554413
You can have both their names, the gob is called Zela and the orc is called Ravnette.

The latter you speak to particularly on the matter of the conflict which forced them out. It sounds pretty straightforward to you though, you gifted the orcs the tree and they took to protecting it. The elves became aware though and encroached, claiming dominion over it. The orcs fought to defend the tree and repelled the elves, but then they returned and took not only the tree but attacked the village. Many of the orcs were lost to the fighting, or covering for the survivors to flee. It's a pretty sad topic to talk of for her, but at the same time she doesn't seem depressive about it. It's just a part of orc life here in the forest, and none can say that the dead did not die well, fighting to protect family and home. They'll manage to recover somehow, they always do, and will strike back twice as hard, eventually to retake their tree.
>>
>>1554489
Oh dayum
Should've called us there, we would've come with Ruta to se if there was anything that could be done

Say goodbye to Zela and gesture Rav to walk with us, stroll around the castle while talking to her about the priestess, we need advice on her, how would the orcs react to us cozying up to her? because as it turns out we're blessed by the wild God of fertility and we'd rather "share" the gift with a follower of the orc fertility deity than just let it sit with us as it has been for a while

Should we pursue or find someone else? What're her thoughts on this
>>
>>1554525
She would have called for aid but it happened rather quickly, as if the elves were hoping for a retaliation and waiting with a force to strike.

At any rate you bid Zela well for now and survey the castle with Rav so that she can get a better sense of the place and also to speak with her. You bring up your being blessed, which she's not sure if that's worthy of congratulations? She still compliments you at least for it, but when you bring up the shaman she has to think.

On the one hand she doesn't imagine a shaman of the orc fertility god to settle for a non orc easily. On the other hand, it would lessen them in the eyes of other orcs since the ideal of said god is a strong and model orc family, a non orc would obviously be a deviation from this, and so lessen the shaman's standing. If however you don't care about that, she supposes either eventually maybe you could convince her, or you could try to get her to give up on her practices towards that god. Rav though wonders why you wouldn't prefer to be with one of your own kind, another human? Or even one of your position, as ruler of the settlement, perhaps a fair elven noble whom would assure you safety from them?
>>
>>1554552
We've never had a real relationship with a human thanks to mom, they're always fake or end up dead or dissappeared, elves are cucks and live for a long time plus they're stock up, xenophobic, and bitchy

Orcs on the other hand are strong, resilient, hearty! And cool friends too, goblins are also pretty cool but they're for hug not fug

With this new info i guess we're better off with another orc leader then?
Would an Orc leader be affected in standing for having us as a partner?
>>
>>1554580
It would depend on the standing of the orc in question, and knowledge of your own standing. It is likely to hurt anyone's reputation, but not in a way that couldn't be ignored or outdone with enough effort.
>>
>>1554580

Quite a busy day, but well spent you think. Dinner will be hectic with all these new people though, probably a huge communal effort. How would you care to spend it, and the time afterward till going to sleep?

Can Nadira look into the underdark again?

Also, start making the ilumimatiom system, and making the undreground settlement that can substaim on its own: There is a well in the castle, thus, there is underground water.
Start taking fertile earth from the surface and bring it to a farm underground, then, see if you can uproot trees and take them underground (see if you are able to carry them, fit then trough doors and such, have a place to put then, all beforhand).
See if you can enchant them so they grow without need of light.

Eula can do that, and would want to but you'd need to specify which elven group she would infiltrate and how far you'd like her to go. Like if you want her just to glean information, or eventually assassinate and replace a leader.

And yes Nadira can look into the underdark, while you ferry dirt down there. The only problem is the plants and growth, that will be hard and require someone with magic for that. A shame Ruta left, she'd be perfect for it.

>>1555915
>>1555967
It's a fair point that the evil queen would not approve of an elf, however there's no denying the benefit if you were to say, wed an elven leader or heir to much territory and power. The queen might not like an elven daughter in law, but she'd have to respect if she brought more territory into your family domain.

>>1554605
Yes that's fine.

So the passage of another two weeks, with everyone including the orc refugees settled in. By that point you can have felled the dying giant tree, though it will mean an obviously huge amount of wood to use if you like, for whatever. What efforts would you like the orcs and goblins to devote themselves to though over the coming time passing?

In terms of just basic improvements, the castle now has a pretty sizeable ditch all the way around it, short only water for it to be a moat. You've also figured out which parts are in need of repair and which parts need to be rebuilt. Other than clearing all the plant overgrowth away though, things are at square one.
>>
>>1556208
If all three agree, chop up the tree to turn it into usable building wood/lumber, we can store it inside and use it to rebuild the castle, like support beams in the construction or something.

Let them rest between the chopping and the rebuilding

And talk with the leader about any settlements she knows that might be okay with partnering up or any possible allies really
>>
>>1556260
Well you can definitely substitute wood for stone in the meantime, in rebuilding the castle. It will look pretty wonky though, with a ton of wooden structures built in and on the stone of the structure. But the good news is it will both give everyone something to do, and satisfy the need for housing.

The tree is so huge though that you could chop wood from it, and still not be done with it after a few months. In the meantime though you try to figure out other possible folks of interest and worth, speaking with Ravnette about it. She knows of three other proper orc groups in the region, and then a few smaller parties like bandit and raider teams. She's sure you could approach most of them peacefully, though if one of you (literally you, her, or Zela the goblin) was actually in a recognized position of power. At that point, then other orcs would not only be compelled to recognize you all as allies, but even would seek to come and join the tribe.

Either way, approaching the two week point, you get attention from the goblins and Zela worried tells you that some of them outside saw an approaching group of combatants. You have time to prepare but it seems like they're headed directly this way and they appear to be well armed according to the rumors.

Goblings with crossbows on the front door hiden undercover on the gatehouse and other entrances (crumbled walls). Orcs stay inside of the walls (not the castle) behind the entrances (front entrance takes priority. Goblings with primitive bows give general support. (Go where they are more needed as the situation progrecess.)

The objetive is too keep them outside with figthers/structures while assaulting them with projectiles.

Before the battle starts, try to get an idea of who they are (can we send Rita to scout? Ask Nadira? Use a spell?) to see if diplomacy is an option.

Have we precented Sephaly and Nadira to the goblings while the elf was out? That was the plan, and the orcs that came now knew of them.

Send Rita, tell her to just report back. How many magic users can she see? Combatants?

Also, we should tell our gobling to stay hidden until they are given a signal. And to only attack half in a volley. Magic users that attack a castle probably expect range attacks, so they maybe put wards, better if we don't let them retaliate while we are undended (can wards be broken by an overhelming number of range attacks? If that is the case, we should probably attack all at once.

Also, can we set an ambush with the goblings hiden in the forest? We lure them in we attemptin diplomacy, since if they are hostile they will go for the easy kill, and if the negotations fail, we attack from all sides. Also, cast some protective wards on yourself.

Can we take wood from the tree without cutting it down?

I mean, like carving the insode from the top or something like that. To make use of the structure.

How do you want Rika to scout? Just follow that person or sneak around their force?

As for the prince being in danger, the fellow says that's for him to discuss with the prince, but rest assured danger is headed his way and the queen wants him back before disaster strikes.
>>
>>1556713
Sneak that person, see where the vampire is located, how many people he has in reserve, etc.

>We have no problem with you going to get the proof, but we would like to discuss with this servant of the queen and hopefully, make a deal out of this. It is our settlement that is treathened by disaster, after all.

Also, another anon can't post so I will post his vote here:
>>1556713
Ask him to wait for us for a few minutes
Walk to the underdark tunnel and walk back

>He's right next to the escape tunnel, if you can tell us what danger he's in i can bring him up here to see if we can reach an agreement before he leaves
>>
>>1556836
You plan for Rika to stalk the messenger back to their camp and learn what she can about them. To help with this, you request to see the one with the information from the queen. Not the one in charge, you learn, but the one holding the steering wheel so to speak.

When he returns, indeed it is the vampire from before you find, you try to bluff your way into finding out more, by threatening the prince to leave via an escape tunnel. All he'll say then seeing that, is that a dangerous enemy of the queen heard of the prince out on his own, and is coming to get him.
>>

Maybe we should try to ger information first?

Rolling for persuading him into giving us details. Who is this enemy?

I get the impresion he is just going to try to capture us if we reveal ourselves.
>>
>>1558837
>26

Well you can try to persuade him, but it seems like he actually doesn't know. At least not the full details, he seems to have just gotten word that a prominent enemy of the queen is on the move so he quickly dispatched to get the prince. He outright says, he expects if he were still in more civilized lands, just by rumors he'd probably know.
>>
>>1558966
And what do you plan to do to the prince? Just take him away?

And how long does he estimate that will take for this enemy of the queen to attack us.

Also, this woild be a good time to see what Nadira saw about the underdark, and seeing that she also didn't tell us about these men, which was the second thing we wanted to divinate, and now the information is kind of useless, I assume that we still got 2 more attempts, right?

It would be better if we knew if we could just go underground and seal the entrance.
>>
>>1559055
More or less, his job is just to fetch the prince and keep him out of harm's way. Eventually bring him back home, but most immediately keep him safe.

For how long left, he doesn't know for sure but it seemed urgent from what little he gathered so he wouldn't expect more than a month or two. Maybe less.

As for Nadira, she did divine some things, I wsa just waiting for you to resolve the most pressing matter before you get to easier pace concerns like that.

If he's here to get us and protect us maybe we can cut a deal?

Still, can't we make a deal? Wouldn't you be interested in joining us? That way he can reinforce the prince safety, though we know of the prince's situation and have desided to help him so we won't give him away.

Rolling to being diplomatic, we may even get the vampire to follow us.

We have the armor and the magic wards on us, right? Just in case this backfires.

Well he's glad to see you at least, and has a laugh about your earlier fight last time you met in that town back in the borderlands. Given the sorts of enemies the queen has though, he highly doubts he or anyone you might have with you could stand against this. He can't say for sure of course, but if you really want it, well the moment the situation looks bad, or if things become clear, you can expect him to turn on you and take you by force if he has to. That would be the the size of the deal pretty much.

He's got nothing against what you want, and figures he'd want the same in your position, but a job is a job, and the queen is withholding something dear to him. If you think you can complete what you want in as short a time then he could postpone things.

I have been thinking about this, and we will probably be fighting a dragon, since we know that fire and wind will be involved, and that our mother killed some dragons.

So, what if we made anti-dragons weapons?

Basically, ballistas like pic related.

Can we enchant the amunition to make it fire-proof, heavier, magical, poisonous, etc.?

What about the ballista on itself, can we make it more resistant, so it can witstand more draw weight? Ligther so it is easier to aim and move? Enchant it so that the amunition that it shots adquire magical propieties.

And even if dragons are resistant to magic, what about manifestations of magic, like lighting. Would that be more efective than plain magic?
>>
>>1559986
Forgot the pic, but I found a better one.

Though instead of being designed to be used by 2 humans, it would be orc sized.

Also, could we hide them with illusions? So that they are not the first thing that the enemy hits.

Alright then, you were able to examine the sword and the amulet, the former being a weapon which can effect ethereal things and the latter allowing the wearer to be invisible to natural light.

As for who is leading him, just the leader of the mercenary company he hired for this job. Nadira can divine him no problem but he's just headed back to the group.

>>1559511
Before he goes you ask about what is being held, he says his wife.

>>1559986

>>1561313
There are three proper groups about the size of hers as at their former village, you learn by speaking with Rav. The closest is similarly about three days away from here. As for the possibility of alliance, she could imagine all but one might be if you could offer enough incentive. One she thinks could be encouraged to actually join yours, while another could probably be allied with. The third, not so much as the leader is pretty confident and successful and that group is powerful on their own.

Then there are also smaller groups, more like roving bangs, whom are all over the place. For some it would be pretty easy to ally with while others not.
>>
>>1563595
We should get ready to travel to the closes one and leave tomorrow, is she coming with us or is she staying?

And how many more attempts to use divinity in the last weeks do we have? 1 or 2?

She'd rather stay as her people need her, but she understands this is important and it would obviously be easier negotiating if she is there. Your choice though on the matter.

Over the passing of time, Nadira used her divining abilities to scan further and further below into the underdark to see what she could find. Her discovery was a little alarming, but it appears that there is a settlement of Kuo-toa. You nor anyone else know what they are, but Nadira being from the underdark herself, explains them as sort of fish men who tend towards water sources in the world below. From her search she was able to find many items and creations of humans, but no sign of humans themselves, so she thinks these Toa to have raided the castle and dragged all the inhabitants off to their dark lair below, looting what they could in the process.

>1

Another attempt by Nadira to divine the mysteries of aetherius, resulted in her being noticed by a beyonder and attacked. She suffered psychological damage and was stricken into a coma for over a week, still suffering total blindness. Her greatest worry though is that in her act of divining, the things which she was observing noticed her in return and are aware of her efforts.

Tell her what they are to expect, tell her to form baricades, cover, put, people on patrols and give her glowing stones to make a iluminated killing zone. (If they attack, goblings will shot at them from the darkness behind cover while they try to breack trough the barricades in an iluminated area.)

>>
>>1565154
You want to leave entirely, just abandon the castle? That's possible but will take player agreement since some have invested a lot in the castle.

>>1565073
Her blindness isn't permanent, it's not physical blindness, her mind's eye was just overwhelmed so much that it's effecting her normal sight. It can't be healed unless you can find a mentally-focused person.

The sword can cut ethereal things but beyonders are not ethereal, they're from the astral plane. It can effect a beyonder as any other object might, assuming the beyonder is in a position to be interacted with (trespassing into the material plane).

As for the entities themselves, you've never heard of beyonders and have to rely on Nadira to tell you. The way she explains it basically, they're nightmarish creatures from the astral plane which predate upon people who trespass to it, since the normally kind of just drift around doing their own thing but can notice material plane entities who cross over. They can be pretty dangerous and either destroy minds or drive individuals crazy, nasty things like that, and the more they interact with things the more they cause the target(s) to be noticeable to them and others like them. It can get to a point where they can even trespass in return, to the material plane and interact with the target directly. When this happens though it's difficult to say because manifesting on the material plane has different effects on different ones. Some can cross over and be hostile, others might cross over and be friendly.

>>
>>1565245
...what does it has anything to do with leaving the castle?

They can only attack Nadira, and if they come, they will come to the place where Nadira is at the moment.

For now, all and the only thing we need to do so that the beyonders don't come to us is leave Nadira rest, so she loses attention from them.

OP, can we loss the attention from beyonders by waiting?
>>
>>1565230
Yes, i want leave
>>
>>1565267
Yes just avoiding the astral plane enough will lose their attention, unless you are actually marked by them, but Nadira certainly hasn't interact with any enough for that.
>>
>>1565283
Oh, ok. So if we don't divine for, let's say, a month, then things will be back to normal, right?

In other words, by leaving the castle we would only be avoiding the underdark.
>>
>>1565295
Well there's a difference between scrying and divining, but yes that's more or less the size of it. Enough time and things will settle back to normal.

As for leaving the castle, well avoiding the underdark would be one thing, but there are other threats to the castle as you know besides just what lies beneath.

>>1565270
>>1565245
Ok then, if you want to try to make everyone leave you can. Where would you intend to head though? Join up with some other group, find a new place, or strike out and leave the forest altogether?

That's more than enough for everyone to gather up all their belongings, carry whatever they can, and begin the trek to the other orc group. A shame to leave the fruit tree orchard made by Ruta behind, but you leave signs, and other indications for her as to where you've gone in case you lose track of one another.

And so the trek as one large group as you head out, trailed by the mercenaries and the vampire, who says he'll permit you to get these people to safety and new homes, but after that then he plans to capture you. A bit of a downer hanging over your head, but the trip is surprisingly successful as you face little trouble with the group along the way, and encounter a fair few other orcs whom were from the original village but got separated when it was overrun. They're all happy to reunite after the times spent apart, and they gladly join up with your group en route to where you're headed. Their addition brings the orc numbers up to around 80.

At any rate you're now a couple days out from the castle and have the choice to make for which other orc group to seek out, according to Rav. You could either go for the one which is stronger but less likely to welcome you with open arms, or the relatively weaker one which would be happy to have you all.

Very well then, you make your way for the weaker of the two groups, whom Rav believes will be more welcoming of you. It's about another two days travel, till you reach a one of the few clearings in the deep wood, wherein is a small walled town. You're noticed by scouts long before you get there, but when Rav states you're not hostile and explains the situation to these other orcs, they just ask you to disarm for the time being whereafter they escort you into the little town.

You notice the buildings seem more human-like than orc, but decently well-maintained. Upon reaching the town square equivalent though you're met by who you assume to be the leader of this group, and a friend of Rav's you'd guess. Of the four prominent groups in the region, one of two (including Rav's) to be led by an orc lady, she and Rav have a little spat initially and something of a short fight, but afterwards everyone on both sides livens up, and the leader of this group welcomes you all and offers food and the like after your own group has traveled so much. You in particular she greets with a hearty hug, saying it's rare to see humans this far into the forest but you've helped her kind so you're welcome here. She also slaps you hard on the back, wondering what sort of clever young man you must be to have organized, saved, and maintained not just one but two separate groups (orcs, gobs) and more or less worked with them as one group.

You could certainly imagine a worse situation, but between you and Rav, she wants to know what your goals are now, and how long you intend to stay? You're all welcome of course, but she imagines a lot of work to be done, and more trouble, in managing so many greenies in one place. Her own group consists of about 80 orcs, 100 goblins, and 10 trolls, as well as a handful of other raced-folks who've found refuge here or intermarried.
>>
>>1565749
Well, we're kinda short on time so we hope to build our people some houses near or next to her village so we can leave them in good hands when we are inevitably dragged off

>Lightheartedly/playfully flirt
>>
>>1565756
Well if you want to just shove them all off on her, she supposes they can work something out. Better than just living nearby though, she says they can manage sharing accommodation until a time when they can expand the walls more and create new housing for them all.

As for power, well it's much less formal. She's basically in charge and has the final say on everything, but she tends to sit back and let the people govern themselves, as it stands the town being divided up into neighborhoods more or less whom have their own little organization and power structures. You explain your old system of course, which she thinks could work well enough, as long as not too many people are governed by any one person. Of course she does respect Rav as royalty more or less, so is willing to share control with her, and believing Zela to be an actual queen, could imagine similarly putting her in charge of all the goblins.

You try asking Rav if this other leader is married, but she must have an ear good enough to hear, because she gets a good laugh and slams a big hand on your shoulder which nearly buckles your knees, as she asks why and if you think you could make her a missus again, sensing your intent. No need for Rav, she herself says she was married twice before but both husbands died, and jokes about being on the lookout for lucky number three. Arbalette is her name, of 35 years old and a mother of some, which you suppose makes sense as she's got that big tough momma bear look and nature about her.

Either way she says she likes you, you're worth a laugh, and she drags you under her arm as she leads the way through the little town along with Rav and Zela to show you all around a little and give you an idea of where you can all settle in for now. Your own group has various travel accommodations like tents but Arba says there's enough room for your group to find temporary housing with other residents of the town. She's pretty insistent and won't have it any other way besides, all for hospitality. Just so long as your group works and pulls their weight, in working towards expanding the town for their own housing, then her group should be fine with you staying with them as long as you need.
>>
>>1565809
Cool
Thank her for the help, we'll all get started on building tomorrow
Get those houses finished ASAP, we shouldn't take advantage of her hospitality.
And of course
>Playfully Flirt back

We're getting dragged off in a few weeks so, let's make the most of it
During our free time take Zela, our friends and our gob posse around town to help anyone/play with kids/drink, maybe even ask Rav if she wants to join in
>>
>>1565820
You take to things as best you can, and think your group will be able to fit in well enough. Well, except Sephaly, you feel bad about her and probably can't guarantee her being able to roam freely here anymore.

You explain the arrangement though with Arba and she's confused about specifically your departure. When you explain the vampire and his paid men though, she laughs and throws you over her shoulder, saying you're her prisoner now. Zela panics at seeing this, and with a shriek tries to attack Arba in anyway she can to get you back, not understanding the situation. The leader herself though shoves Zela off her foot with a swing of the leg, and says if they want you more than her they'll have to come and get you. 50 mercenaries and a vampire? Between your two groups now there's more than a 100 orcs alone, let alone others of the settlement here. It'd be the equivalent of a curb stomp by her approximation.

Though, even if the orcs and other greenies could win, you don't imagine it happening without bloodshed. You're not so sure you avoiding being captured by the queen's orders, is worth that, these good folks fighting over you.
>>
>>1565831
Explain to her why we can't and won't stay: even if this bit of people are killed, mom would just send more badder, bigger, meaner, stronger people. Which would only bring death to her and our people and to avoid that we prefer to leave them safe and sound so we can hopefully meet again later in the future.

And mom's keeping the vamps wife hostage until he brings us back, which leaves us at a rough spot.
>>
>>1565838

Actually, I am starting to think that the surface is more dangerous that the underdark.

What if we tell her this?
That they work for more people, so even if we deal with them, more will come after them. And not only that, but a powerful creature also wants to harm us and we have around 2 months before he/she/it comes.

However, we have discovered an entrqnce to the underdark, where we can expand and grow strong outside of their gasp.

So, would she help us recruit the other orcs and form a settlement underground, where both of us don't have to worry about our enemies up here (Theirs are elves)?

Based on what we know, we can expect there to be a settlement of Kuo-toa under the castle, so we want to get as many people as we can, will she join?

This way, we can escape the elves, our mother, and her enemies.

Because, at least to me, the underdark ironically seems like the safest option
>>
>>1566081
Do you want lie to her? She possibly wants to screw us from the way she's acting, would you prefer the truth to come out after we have sex? She's going to feel used and she's probably going to be really pissed. It better if we just tell her right now, everything else is fine
>>
>>1566090
Yeah, this
I don't want to lie to her and have it come back to bite us in the ass
>>
>>1566090
Oh, sure, I have no problem with that, though I would like to tell her that in a more private situation.

My post was meant to tell her about what we where going to do more than a matter of trusting in her or not.

You feel pretty conflicted over the matter, and not sure you want to risk anyone's lives over your sake even if it would mean maintaining your freedom. Honesty seems the best choice for now, as Arba sets you down again and Zela jumps and clings onto you, crying and lamenting she thought she wasn't going to see you again. If you're going to be honest though, that means revealing the truth about yourself, and you can't imagine that going well with any of the orcs since the evil queen thwarted their "migration" and killed many of their number.

Maybe later, just between you and her you might tell Arba and see how she takes it, as a judge of other orc reactions at large. In the meantime though, it's afternoon-ish as your group moves and settles into the town for now, seeking accommodation among fellow greenies as best they can. Even your magic coach can find a place and your close companions getting the hang of things. Though naturally Sephaly can't come out and Nadira is too sick to leave as well. How would you like to while away the rest of the day then?
>>
>>1566124
Tell the leader this?

>>1566081
>That they work for more people, so even if we deal with them, more will come after them. And not only that, but a powerful creature also wants to harm us and we have around 2 months before he/she/it comes.

>Based on what we know, we can expect there to be a settlement of Kuo-toa under the castle, so we want to get as many people as we can, will she join?

Is the safest option without losing our freedom, and a great oportunity for the orcs as well, to grow outside of the watch of the elves.
>>
>>1566124
Last two bits in
>>1565820
We should tell her after dinner, ask her to take us somewhere private because we need to talk to her
>>
>>1566124
>Though naturally Sephaly can't come out and Nadira is too sick to leave as well. How would you like to while away the rest of the day then?

Also, can we talk with Sephaly?
She wanted us to find more people like her, right? Where can we find them? (In dungeons?)

Also, what is her opinion on Kuo-toas? (Acording to D&D e4, medusas (gorgon are animals) like the company of other reptile like people, maybe that also includes fishes. Also, Kuo-toas are normally allies with drow, so maybe Sephally and Nadira can help in aboiding conflicts.)
>>
>>1566208
And is Eula with us? When is she coming back if not?
>>
>>1566142
And also tell her about Sephaly, how is that going to be handled?
>>
>>1566210
Eula isn't back, she'd been sent to infiltrate the divine tree elves, however chances are when she finds out you left the castle she'll return.

>>1566208
>>1566142
>>1566140
You spend the rest of the day then hanging out with the goblins and some of your companions, together all getting used to the new settlement and helping anyone you can to settle in. By dinner time you also sit aside with Sephaly inside the magic coach to speak to her about what concerns her. Her greatest interest was to be somewhere she can walk around freely, ideally somewhere in nature. After that, she'd like others like herself, but she doesn't expect either things here among the orcs now. Dungeons could work but are you looking to live in a dungeon? Probably not. She's never met any Toas, but she supposes there could be worse folks.

The rest of the time you spend with Arba who clears a spot near her among all the dinnertime liveries of these orc folks, to try and figure out the situation moving forward. You get to asking if you can discuss things in private, which she's more than fine with since she says you're staying at her place for the duration of your time here, leader to leader courtesy of course. She has to deal with some matters and people seeking her advice or judgement, but after she lifts you to your feet and slings you along with her through the town, initially joined by a small crowd of other orcs and goblins but shedding them overtime as many head off to their own homes and most head off to get drunk proper.

Not long after and you reach Arba's house, pretty upscale and what probably was the equivalent of the town hall back when (you assume) the former inhabitants lived here. Once inside she says you can get comfortable, as she talks with a goblin live-in about her kids before collapsing down on a couch in the... living room? Inviting you to sit, she's open to talking about whatever you want, or want to admit.
>>
>>1566471
Where are we going to be sleeping? Are we going to be sharing a bed?
>>
>>1566488
She gets a laugh out of your suggestion, saying that she was going to have a room set up for you, but if you want to share a bed she supposes she could make room for you.
>>
>>1566507
Nope, the room is absolutely fine, we're not sure she'll want us near her after what we have to tell her.

So, first off , we have a Gorgon amongst our friends, if she could give word to her people not to bother her when she wants to take a walking we would appreciate it.

>>
>>1566595
Oh, wait, they do oppoce each other.

Well, I suppoce we can tell her about the underdark, the dangers that are below, and see if she is interested. And depending on that, choce how to act.
>>
>>1566601
Well finding out your identity she isn't going to be interested in much lol
>>
>>1566601
What do you want to say that opposes?
>>1565838
>>
>>1566630
Oh, well, fuck. That is why I wanted to keep it secret.

Hmm, what if we tell her that we are not interested in following the ways of our mother? That we want to make a nation for ourselves? Also, this is a great oportunity for her, to grow in power outside of the reach of the elves.

(Optional, don't put unless other anons agree) What about being the orc that 'conquered' the queen's son?

>>1566640
Well, the other anons wants to leave, which will leave us vulnerable to attacks from our mother and her enemies, unless we go back to mom, which would lead to a game over.

I, on the other hand, want to go to the underdark and block the entrance, so that our mother and her enemies can't follow us.

With the help of the orcs, we can expand to in the underdark, the problem is getting her help if we reveal our identity, since our mother defeated the orcs in the past.
>>
>>1566630
Wouldn't the 73 help?
>>
>>1566733
The 73 is so she doesn't drag you out in front of the town and cave your skull in.
>>
>>1566754
Oh, do we need to roll to convince her? Or is our argument good enough?
>>
>>1566700
And block ourselves in on the underdark?
Are you suicidal?
The name is already spoopy enough and you're assuming we won't be able to escape again
And if we befriend and help her enough they could probably help
>>
>>1566832
This
I don't want to loose friends in the underdark and if we form bonds with enough people here, escape might be easier
>>
>>1566832
Well, the that is why I want to go with as many orcs as posible.

And considering our mother and her enemies, staying up here seems more suicidal.

Our first plan was to have a two sided settlement, the castle on the surface, and the underdark at the bottom, so we could escape to one side if an overhelming threat came from the other.

We can come back to do that, if you want. It was why we wanted the castle in the first place.

Then Nadira happen and we left even if they can attack us as long as we don't use divination, or attack us anywhere if we use divination and fail horribly.

So, I really don't get why we left, since what happened to Nadira didn't actually change anything, and going anywhere doesn't help.

If anything, we are far more expoced now that we left.

Though, if you want to escape from the forests with the orcs, I recomend you keep our identity a secret, though I suppoce that you can, with that 73.
>>
>>1566858
We lost our only safe viewpoint (I think) into the underdark when Nadira got mind sniped, if anything wants to crawls out we'll have no way of knowing and its probably going to hurt us in the process. So the castle is a no go

And I can't imagine you not using divination after how much you kept bothering op about it before that 1 happen.

And no, that's my roll and I say that we tell her, she helped us and the least we can do is tell her the truth instead of lying and have it come back at us.
>>
>>1566896
And
>>1566519
Supports telling her too
>>
>>1566896
>We lost our only safe viewpoint (I think) into the underdark when Nadira got mind sniped

For a month.

Though I would like to know if there are ways to protect against beyonders.
>>
>>1566902
So you're going back to divining right after Nadira is back to normal or let her rest before having her divine again? You do realize that that's a really asshole move on her
>>
>>1566925
>So you're going back to divining right after Nadira is back to normal

That takes a week.

>or let her rest before having her divine again?

I would probably let her rest for 2 months.

Still, I fear that if we don't relly on her she will feel useless.

Though, again, I would like to know if measures can be taken against beyonders.
>>
>>1566969
You just proved my point in
>>1566896
You're not going to stop putting her at risk, first chance you get for divining any danger or some other shit you're going to have her divining, and i don't want to get her killed because you can't keep the divining in your pants.

She's not stupid, if we tell her she needs to stop doing it for her own safety (something she should know if she has common sense) she'll understand, there's other ways in which she can be useful.
>>
>>1567017
...if you don't want to use divination again, you just have to ask.
>>
>>1567036
And leave us blind to the underdark when we move back into the castle? No

It's better here where we can actually see and stand a chance and possibly recruit more people
>>
>>1567062
Yeah, you tell him anon
>>1566545
>>1566537
Can we move yet op?
>>
>>1567062
Ok.
>>
>>1566784
It's basically how well she takes it. You got a 73, means she'll listen to it, doesn't mean she's going to accept it, when finding out your identity.

>>1566858
Just to clarify, the evil queen also has enemies in the underdark.

>>1567069

>>
Rolled 95 (1d100)

>>1567119

>>
>>1566545
>>1567154
So sitting with Arba, you explain the truth to her, to admit who you are and your relationship, the risk towards you. She's not sure if you're being truthful at first, but you maintain your story, and she gets more than a little upset. All sorts of possibilities occur to her as she gets up and grabs you, considering a possible enemy or threat. She barrages you with questions though which you try to answer all and be truthful as you can, you're not some sleeper agent or trying to hurt anyone, just wanting to be free yourself and make a life on your own.

She considers that for awhile and you assuring it's the truth, before she sets you down and tries to think of what this all could mean. Obviously, she says this should be kept a secret, but she asks what it is you want to happen then, and what you think is going to? She's at least calmed down now and seems to have accepted your answer, and is trying to work with you to see how this situation can be salvaged and turn out well for you.
>>
>>1567179
Well, in her we have 2 options:
We can go to the underdark, except that we actually can't and is a total no-no, or we can convince her to gather the goblings, the orcs, and the trolls, and go for conquest, to make a nation for ourselves.

This would mean going somewhere and defeating the local goverment/making them our vassals.

If I rememver correctly, the red kingdom at the south was divided and this it would be a great place to start our conquest, once we have a bigger army.

The point is, we have to streingthen ourselves with each conquest, taking control of the loval armies and thus growing in power.
>>
>>1567179
Nothing really, we just want to get our people a safe spot before we are dragged off

And if we manage to beat the mercenaries and the vamp she'll only send more which would only cause bad things to her and our people, we could all relocate somewhere safer but that's out of the question.
We're nothing like mom, we really do care about her and the people here
Does she have any suggestions?
>>
>>1567218
Well that's for sure, she doesn't want to go to the underdark. If you wanted to do a conquest though, well that's pretty bold talk. It's not impossible she supposes, but you'd have to form a tribe first and raise a banner. After that, if you could get that far, it wouldn't be hard at all to attract others to the cause. Particularly if you had conquering in mind, every since the great incursion was repelled, the orcs at least would love a chance to go-a-conquering again.

>>1567239
Well your plight does resonate with her at least, feeling bad for you, in her belief that you're telling the truth. The only thing she can think of, is if you laid low or went somewhere the evil queen couldn't find you? Or even just too far away to be reasonable?

Like, she asks how this group and the vampire found you in the first place? Do the opposite of what you were doing which got you found.
>>
>>1567259
Hmm, going far away?

What about the pink republic by the coast?

But the we would have to go trough the while forest, though, would we be outside of the reaxh of other orc tribes if we where there?

Also, making a tribe and raising a banner seems like a good idea.
>>
>>1567281
>What about the pink republic by the coast?

Though the red kingdom seems weaker because of inestability...
>>
>>1567259
How would we go about making a tribe? How many more groups do we need?

Also why did mom attack them?
>>
>>1567317
>Also why did mom attack them?

They tried to raid her domains, she repeled them, killing the orc leader in the process.
>>
We need to make more contacts across the land. So lets adventure a little bit under an assumed name, so we can get something like a spy network going. Then when we start, in earnest, our kingdom, we can be forewarned of threats.
>>
>>1567281
Well that is pretty far away but still on the same continent. You recall though that with the magic cloak you have, it prevents scrying so the main risk of you being found (apart from taking it off) is word of you spreading.

It's important to point out though that the amount of orcs you can expect to find will thin out the farther east you go.

>>1567317
>>1567321
Making a tribe requires the process of being accepted as a chief or chieftess among a group, winning a challenge to that, and then creating and raising a banner. There are no proper tribes in this region so other orcs are compelled to approach and assist or join the tribe. It won't be without challenge along the way, but it's a significant ball rolling for the orcoid people.

As for what happened with the evil queen, the great western orc khan was leading a huge orc invasion (or migration depending on who you ask) into this continent, and already had sent many tribes (those you've met here in the forest for example) ahead of the main force, which is when people started to notice it as an invasion. The evil queen though after fighting and repelling enough that the khan himself took notice, prompted a meeting between the two, and after a combat the khan finally relented on his invasion of the continent and turned back homeward to try and invade some other landmass.

The result of this though was that all the tribes whom had already invaded the lands ahead of the main force, got left behind and most got downgraded from tribes to just groups. They were all more or less left aimless and just settled to doing things on their own. Ever since, they've mostly just gathered to groups and lived in the typical orcish manner, but never really any movements like enough to go conquering again.

>>1567288
Either are possible you suppose. The red one is closer and probably easier to conquer, while the pink one is farther but more stable.
>>
>>1567377
>Making a tribe requires the process of being accepted as a chief or chieftess among a group, winning a challenge to that

This seems like the dificult part.

Can a human be a chief? And if so, what is it that we should do to become one? We better get started.
>>
>>1567377
What should we do once our people are settled in? Have Rav, us and Arba to meet the other groups?
This too
>>1567398

>But most importantly
>You still wanna share that bed?
> ,':v
>>
>>1567401
We haven't used that 95 have we?
>>
>>1567398
Also, the red kingdom has plain elves, right?

And if I remember correctly, they where kind of cool with orcs. So I say that we go for the red kingdom, then we can expand to the north.

Also, we should make clear that we would be taking control of the place, in other words, we would just make it so that the villages grow food for us instead of the actual leaders.

The orcs would be ok with that? That way they don't need to care about growing food themselves.
>>
>>1567398
No a human more or less cannot be accepted as a chief. The closest you could get to the position is marrying a chieftess, or just serving as an advisor.

>>1567401
Well you could try to meet the other groups but if you are intending to raise a banner, you can't expect them to receive you in good faith. For this matter it would likely be better to act with a strong hand than a diplomatic one, unless you can offer some great incentive.

>>1567410
>>1567401
The 95 was for her to accept your explanation and situation, which she did pretty well. If you still want to try something with her, well, you suppose you could make a roll.

You'll have to explain how you're pitching it though, since your truth telling is a pretty huge bomb drop and killer of the mood. Maybe you could think of or say something to salvage the situation though, again, if you're still interested in something with her maybe.

>>1567414
You can expect to find some elves anywhere, though probably in small numbers. As for their tolerance of orcs, no they're not fans but they're not as intolerant as the forest elves at least. The red nation got hit pretty hard by the orc incursions, so they're some bitterness there.

As for the orcs being ok with it, well they'll always jump at a chance to conquer and reclaim some of their lost glory and reputation. And if you raised a recognized banner, well they wouldn't argue otherwise anyway.
>>
>>1567442
Worth pointing out as well, that a chief or chieftess doesn't have to be an orc, it can be another greenie race like goblin or troll. It just has to be a greenie basically.

What about doing something that is not a tribe?

Something like just getting the goblings together under our command and go conquering? Like we have been doing thus far?

I suppoce we could, but wouldn't be so great... well, there is a way. To have somebody as a leader of the orcs, and us as an allie, as we have been doing thus far.
>>
>>1567491
The tribal system and all is just for the orcs. The goblins and trolls have completely different systems of governance. It would obviously be much harder since goblins aren't as dangerous or disciplined as orcs, and trolls aren't in large numbers, but you certainly don't HAVE to do anything with the orcs. You can just go along with the goblins or trolls instead, or some other race altogether.

>>1567490
>96

The situation was pretty serious and somber, but you're young and up for anything. Arba potentially offered something, and you're certainly willing if she is, even just to get your mind off of things.

Your forwardness and change of subject catches her off guard, which makes her laugh quite a lot. She says you're either very bold or very eager for a young man, if that's still on your mind despite everything else. But sure, if you've still got it in you, she could toss reason out the window for one evening. Only if you're sure of course.

Also, wans't that 95 to also see how she got the news of us having a gorgon friend?

>>1566519
>So, first off , we have a Gorgon amongst our friends, if she could give word to her people not to bother her when she wants to take a walking we would appreciate it.
>>
>>1567719
Well it was included in there, but she can't do much about Sephaly's situation unfortunately. Before with the castle, and even the village before that it was easier because there weren't so many people and it was in a wider space.

Here though there's many more people, not just orcs either, and it's in a walled town. You could let Sephaly outside, but the chances of her running afoul of hunters or enemies to this little town are greater.
>>
>>1567979
Any chance of letting her in if we get her a cloak or some glasses? Or the problem is that they just don't want her inside?
>>
>>1568022
If she had a disguise, even a magic one that would definitely help. Like Nadira could make her an illusion necklace and she'll look like a normal person.

Though, you know that Sephaly didn't want that. She might accept it, but she wanted to be free to be herself and not have to hide outside.
>>
>>1568028
Would she accept a hijab? Or a ball mask that covers her eyes but still allows her to see? Like a one way thing
Those are flashy and nice
But what's the problem? The orcs don't want her inside or are they afraid they'll get stoned?
>>
>>1568045
She'll accept whatever you give or tell her to wear, but you know that she doesn't want to. If you don't care about how she feels though then that's fine.

As for the orcs, they just don't want her around, not a monster in their town. Like a hundred, it was uneasy but they tolerated her and kept their distance. Here, there's just too many people to get upset and living too close.

You could probably work something out where she can get a house to herself, maybe even ask for the old church which has a walled little garden, then she's not cooped up in the magic coach. But it's still not the same as going around freely.
>>
>>1568062
We'll see what we can do tomorrow then
For now we have more pressing matters
>>
>>1568091
>>1567585
Well it's a lot to consider but you figure you can continue it tomorrow? Arba has the same thing in mind, slapping you on the knee as she gets up and heads towards a side way. She says the guest room for you would be that way but if you're sure about this, calling you little boy, then she says leave your stuff in your room and come to hers after.

Left sitting there as she looks back one last time before leaving to her room, you gulp as you feel your heart hammering in your throat. You can imagine all sorts of complications that could come from this and you know it will have consequences, but at the same time Arba doesn't care enough to toss all those concerns on the fire for one night, so maybe you could too. Either way at least part of you feels a little intimidated; you can't imagine you'd compare to a leader with age and experience like her, but maybe it's worth a try?

Of course!
We'll eventually get one like her or a more fiery one once we're chief! We gotta be prepared for the future
Leave your things and prepare yourself mentally, remember what you learned from Gwen and what Ruta taught us. Put it to good use

You wander around the side hall for a bit till the goblin live-in shows you the way and helps you get accustomed. It's kind of an awkward situation where you know you want to be somewhere else but she thinks you're going to be staying here so she gives you the full rundown of the place and helps you get situated, even asking if you'd want any food or drink before you go to sleep. Awkwardly and trying not to seem impatient you humor her, till she finally lets you on your own. It does take two tries though, as you quickly throw off your outerwear and hope to head back but the goblin notices you and thinks you still need something for which you have to make excuses. So after waiting for a second try, you finally manage to sneak your way back to the main room and with hesitation, decide to just knock at the door. You hear movement inside, till the door is opened a little and when she sees it's you, Arba pulls you inside.

The room is pretty nice but it's a bit awkward since it was originally the meeting hall for the building but after taking it over it seems Arba just turned it into a giant bedroom for herself, leading to a lot of empty space and odd lighting. It's not like you get a lot of time to admire it though, as she laughs at you taking such a long time, wondering if you got scared as she signals you over to a table near the bed and pours the both of you a drink to share. Something special she says, a little left over from the humans living here before. Not to her taste like what the orcs normally drink, but maybe more appropriate for the situation? Between sharing the drink, she looses her clothes and takes a seat on the bed, pulling you close to stand between her legs while you've still only just got the drink in your hands. Quite a sight though, and probably the last situation you expected yourself to be in even earlier today, looking over the leader of this town in all her big old tough orc lady glory waiting for you with a craving look as she admits she's never had a human before. You wouldn't imagine for a second to be the one in charge of anything here, but you can't help but feel more than a little powerful to be standing over her like this eager to see what you're made of and the bed ready and waiting. A brief thought of logic as you realize this is probably intentional on her part and she wanted you to feel that way, but it's clearly working and any such logic is dispelled as she grabs you from the behind and pulls you towards her, not really caring much about what happens to what's left of the drink.

Well if you were looking to take the weight off your feet from all the travel, you more than succeeded, in both that and convincing Arba that a a fling with you wasn't a bad idea. You can't hope to compare to her experience but you're not as clueless as you once were, and you try to make this about her because why wouldn't you. This works in your favor it turns out, as it seems she was going to go easy on you but didn't expect you to work your way into things. She's caught off guard by your efforts and the sensation of it, that eventually she just roughly grabs ahold of you and drags you into position so to speak, frustrated or perhaps just unable to take much more foreplay.

Because her initial roughness, you don't get a chance to take it slow and careful in giving your little prince a taste of her as it were and you just have to quickly line up with her forcing you, but once joined together that gives her enough at least what she wants to let up on you as she savors the sensation with a deep sigh. Unlike Ruta or Gwen though, the orc leader is fairly bigger than you so you don't really get the chance to handle her about in turn or actively maneuver. At the same time though this means a lot slower and deliberate, more intimate loving as she holds you close. It's not something lively and energetic like with Ruta, or emotionless and purely physical like with Gwen, but a long and engaging experience of getting to know each other's body in the most intimate way. Not nearly as active as with Ruta but lasting much longer for it, and you're just as exhausted by the time you near the end. Neither of you were clean to begin with after your long travels and her efforts as the town leader, and after this you're both sweating up a storm but that just adds to the overpowering sensation. Your efforts got her to her limit first, as she holds onto you all the tighter and stiffens up before letting out a mix between moan and a roar. Even after she's ridden out the feeling though she doesn't let up and encourages you through with it, holding you close to the point of even moving you through with it herself, till you similarly reach your limit and in release give her more than just physical sensation. Almost like a leader to leader handshake, of getting to know one another, but with your bodies entire. And like how she accepted your people in and gave them housing, so too did she welcome you in and now shelters your own physical essence.

Left exhausted after, it's some time for the both of you to catch your breath and settle down, but held in her arms you just get used to the strong beating of her heart to your face against her body. And even though she eventually speaks to you about the experience and softly laughs about it, you've already drifted off to sleep. Just an immense feeling of satisfaction for her, among other things to have taken such good care of her guest and fellow leader, hospitality and diplomacy as good as any.

You awaken the next morning to some sounds of shouting outside the town hall, which quickly devolves into bickering and then fades away into the morning bustle. In your sleep you must have settled to a different position or Arba moved you, because rather than joined together atop her you're snuggled under an arm of hers at her side. It's surprisingly comfy though, just nestled against and feeling her larger form rise and fall with her strong breathing as she sleeps. You must have given the old girl more than she bargained for and really wore her out, still snoozing like this. To be fair though, you also could just snuggle and fall back asleep in her arm, to the slow metronome of her body's breathing.

That is, if it weren't for the goblin live-in whom you eventually notice just at eye-height of the bed and peering at you, the both of you trying not to wake Arba as you both startle one another. It seemed she was looking out of curiosity, as if she couldn't clearly make you out under the big orc's arm, but when she does know you're there and realizes what went on between you she turns a deeper shade of green in embarrassment. With a scathing whisper, she incredulously asks what in the name of the gods' you're doing? Still some disbelief however small, and hoping beyond hope what she's seeing is just a big misunderstanding.

>Snoozing with the chieftess after last night

With the chieftess*

The goblin, annoyed, says she's not a chieftess and gets rather angry with you when you confirm her suspicions as to what happened, but you cut her off by telling her to get a bath ready. Exasperated, she doesn't want to wake Arba and just storms off muttering furiously while you just snuggle up to the non-chieftess and drift off back to sleep. Probably not for long as you're awoken again by a sharp pain of the goblin jumping onto, and standing on you as she gently tries to rouse Arba awake and let her know of the morning and the bath she's nearly ready. The orc is slow to wake though, and with a tired smile asks for the goblin to fetch some food first. With one final nasty press of her feet the goblin jumps off you, prompting Arba to stretch in the bed after snoozing all night. It seems for a moment she forgot about you, until by stretching she feels and remembers your presence, and very warmly greets you with a good morning and grabs you again under her arm, giving you a squeeze for good measure and asks how you slept?

>>1568888
The feeling is mutual she lets you know, and she certainly isn't going to let you go so soon, pulling you to lay on top of her as she wonders how desperate you are to get to your friends when she was planning to take the day off perhaps. She's not massively bigger than you, but it's still a funny feeling as she lays back with her hands crossed behind her head and quite amused looking down at you on top of her, while you similarly rest your chin on your hands crossed on her chest and looking up. She's fine to rest together like that for a time, while discussing the things you'd put off last night for today, and before long the goblin even brings a wooden tray of some food and sets it down very annoyed, which Arba reaches down for some to heartily snack into and not caring all that much about making a mess. After all the bath is ready, which makes you consider between laying in bed together to discuss things, or sharing the bath together to do it. The latter will only get colder overtime, but you imagine the goblin could be asked just to drain it some and fetch more hot water.
>>
>>1568987
Lets not annoy the gob further, let's go to the bath and bring the tray with us
We can feed one another as we bathe
Then we can return to cuddling

And ask if it was safe for us to finish inside? Because we're kind of blessed by a fertility God
>>
>>1569631
Eating in the bath? Now that's a recipe for disaster. Either way though, you figure not to let the water go to waste and tell Arba as much. Taking a deep breath and stretching a little more, she agrees and pats you on the back to get off her. Moving to the edge of the bed then, she sits for a bit with her hands on her knees till you get up and figure to pull her by the hand. With a smile she rises to her feet and follows you to the tub, more of a big wooden basin really, probably used for crushing grapes into wine at one point. Big enough for the both of you though as she slaps you on the behind as you leaned over to test the water, causing you to fall forwards in. Laughing, she soon climbs in after you which spills some water of the tub, and she moves to recline before sitting back to relax with a supremely satisfied groan.

You've got the food tray sitting nearby as well, but for now you'd think she'd be content to just drift off back to sleep, she's so relaxed. You do start to have creeping worries though as you sit there at the other side of the tub with your knees to your chin, and you keep considering whether or not to speak up till finally she just tells you to, sensing you wanted to talk. Well most pressing considering what you just did together, but you ask her about how "safe" things were between you? She chuckles a little to herself and asks if that's what you're worried about, but then supposes you would be at your age. She by contrast doesn't seem to care all that much, not like another kid would ruin her life or anything, and she figures a half-human might not be a bad thing to have around. Better the mind for leading than her at least.

You're of course concerned considering you're blessed, she seems interested though and says that must be some story, and would like to hear how it happened and how you found out? And what, if anything, it means? Anything else as well, that you wanted to discuss with her, now would be the time.
>>
>>1569792
We don't rightly know how we got blessed but after we made a giant tree and a life spring, maybe it was that? the shaman in our group had us go through a ritual to check, and sure enough we were blessed by the wild God of fertility.

Maybe it means that our kids will inherit this forest once everyone is united! Because we do want kids.

Also how would she approach the other group? With warriors and stuff or?
>>
>>1569823
Well whatever the case she thinks it's an interesting detail to have about you, she's only met one, maybe two other people before in her life who may have had a god's blessing. The one you have though, should definitely help if you do want kids though, she imagines. When you find that right woman for you, it should be quite the blessing for the both of you, to share.

You get to talking with her though while in the big tub together, and wonder about the other groups in this region of the forest? She thinks about it for a bit, nodding along while listening to you before she considers the options. In her mind, yes a forceful approach would be the best, at least for one of the remaining large groups. Not an attack, war or bloodshet, but a display of power both in numbers and strength, she thinks would be for the best. Maybe the leader and the group won't automatically accept whatever you offer, but you'll certainly gain their respect and they'll listen fairly to you if you can show you demand it.

Either that, or if you can come up with something clever, or a great enough incentive that they'd be foolish not to consider.
>>
>>1569854
How many should we take and is she coming with us? We'll set off today if she wants or take the day off like she wanted?
>>
>>1569883
She thinks anywhere between 25-50 strong, would do the trick, which is now more manageable than ever since your two groups for the time being are co-habiting.

She laughs at how eager you are in wanting to leave today, remarking on that youthful vigor she likes about you. She wasn't so keen on setting out right away though. As you said, she still wants that day off, but more importantly she thinks it a good idea if you waited till your group was settled in properly in town before undertaking this effort. A power play like what you've got in mind could be risky, and the last thing you'd want is a counterattack to properly test the combined group strength when not everyone was properly housed and the wall expanded. Or worse, another group attacks while the team you take with you is gone.

So she advises waiting but if you want to go at your own pace you can.
>>
>>1569947
That make sense, we can wait with her until everyone is settled in
