You sit in the long Ravenclaw table with your friends. The candles float in the sky, illuminating the big stone hall. The food smells delicious and you finally feel at home.

"...a new broomstick." You hear Tim talking with Valdis about something next to you. "Who got a new stick?" "...huh..." "...yeah really! This year it's gonna be a fierce competition..."

They are talking about the upcoming Quidditch matches. It turns your stomach a little...knowing that you are not a member of the team anymore. But you decide to concentrate on other things...that potatoe puree looks so good!

After chatting and eating with your friends for a while your eyes wander to the new first graders. You suddenly see a familiar face. It's your mom's friend's daughter, Nymphadora. She is starting Hogwarts this year. You wish she gets into Ravenclaw. It would be nice to have someone you know join the house.

The Headmaster's deep voice draws your attention.

He stands up in the teacher's table, he has a golden goblet in his hand and he adjusts his half moon glasses with his free hand. "Welcome all to your new home! Before we begin our sorting tradition, I would like to pause our feast and say a few words... Such as, Bombur, Funbur, Balerius, Dundur, Purg and Urg! Now we may proceed!"

Glenn looks quite gleeful and continues eating his chicken legs while Anya looks completely puzzled.

Then the new students start their sorting ceremony. As each student sits and gets the Sorting Hat, the house they have been sorted bursts into loud cheers. "...Charles Weasley...Gryffindor!" and after the red head student your friend Nymphadora's name comes up. "...Hufflepuff!" Well that was a bummer. She seems happy though. Just as Nymphadora walks towards the yellow colored table, your eyes meet with another Hufflepuff in that table, the girl who was in the book club with you, Mary. She smiles and waves. You return the smile.

"Hey John, what do you think of the new recruits?" Valdis asks.

After the ceremony, Professor Dumbledore introduces Professor Noctua, the new Defence Against the Dark Arts Professor. You already met with the old man at Valdis' house. He stands up and waves to the students. Seems like a nice guy.

"...oh so you lied to me?" you hear someone talking in a loud voice. You turn your head to see what is going on. It's two seats down the table, Juliette and Alice are arguing about something. "I never lied to you..." Alice tries to defend herself.

Juliette seems angry at something. "Really? How is this not lying? You told me you were NOT there. In fact you WERE!"

As you listen more you understand that Alice went to see some other girl during the summer and Juliette is upset about it. The girls is someone from Hogwarts but you don't quite catch who it is. Juliette claims she hates her and by going to her house Alice kind of betrayed their friendship. And she also lied to her about it. You listen as they keep arguing and finally Juliette storms off. Alice keeps quiet after that.

Anya just shrugs. "I am more concerned about our first DADA class. It's really getting annoying to have a new teacher every year for the DADA class. Really hinders our progress..." Then she leans in and whispers. "One of the reasons why Rowenna's Eagles will be so useful!"

You just nod and think "So that name is decided then..."

After the feast, the Prefects lead their respectable houses back to their own areas. You walk together with your friends following the new 5th grader Ravenclaw Prefect Veena Patil. It feels good to be walking up and down these stairs again. Once you enter the Ravenclaw Tower and climb up to the dormitory you realize how tired you feel for the day. Cordy is already sleeping in her small bed on one of the shelves. You are sharing your room with your same three friends again this year. Tim and Valdis stay a bit more up but you and Glenn go to sleep.

Next morning you are walking with Glenn and Anya to the first DADA class. Thanks to Glenn's slow eating you are late to the class. You run through the corridors, passing a laughing Goblin holding a sword. He laughs and waves at you with his free ringed hand. You pass him and continue running. "Oh man I hope we can make it! This is exactly like my last Vision..." Glenn says with a short breath. You realize he has blue orbs in place of his eye sockets. "I will kill both of you if I am late to the first class!" Anya says angrily. She is wearing a black fur hat with a red star on it. "I am on a very important mission here and missing classes are not included in my objectives!" You apologize to her and suggest flying with a broomstick instead of running. "Oh like you are not kicked out of the team?" your mom asks. It seems she was there all along too. "Worthless kid..." You also apologize to her. She just shrugs and goes back to duelling with the death eater who killed the last professor. You finally reach the classroom's door and enter inside.

New Profesor is writing something on the blackboard. You try to sneak around the class and sit in a desk undetected. Professor stops writing and asks Anthony to read what he wrote out loud. Anthony jumps and follows the instruction. "I will personally kill you if you are late to my class." Professor nods. "That is right. That's my only rule." Then he looks directly at you. As he walks towards you, you realize he has bat like wings and long fangs. "I need to kill you now John. Do you understand me John? Oh... I might also drink your blood a little John. Okay John?" His voice starts to change. Is it Glenn talking now?

"John!" "John!" "John wake up!"

You open your eyes to find Glenn on your face looking worried. You feel the cold sweat on your neck and your pillow. It was all a nightmare. You are still in your bed. "John! Are you okay!"

You check around to see if the others are also awake but thankfully they are not. Glenn continues, "You know I have this prophetic visions I see. So I am kind of used to seeing weird stuff...but its normal if you still have some nightmares about the things we saw..."

You feel a little emberassed but also glad that you have a friend who cares.

You apologize to Glenn again for waking him up and tell him not to worry. You go back to sleep but it's a restless one. You don't really feel like you have rested or relaxed when you wake up in the morning.

It's morning and the first classes are about to start. The sun shines bright, lifting your mood up. You have a quick breakfast with Glenn, Anya and Juliette and then head to your first 3rd grade class. The Defense Against the Dark Arts.

New Professor has kept the old decoration used by the Professor Hevelius of last year. This year this course is in common with the Slytherin. You have a quick chat with David and Rachel from Slytherin before the class starts and then sit with Glenn. An owl sits on a stand near the Professor desks which you presume to be his pet. Your first impression of the new Professor is positive. He seems like a relaxed old man.

Tim throws you a paper ball from his desk. When you unwrap it, it reads, "Let's do the R.E meeting this Friday?"

You write "OK" and throw the paper back at him. Tim reads and gives you a thumbs up. You think about sharing the secret room with them for a second but then decide not to. So far you have only shown that room to a few friends. After waiting for a while the professor is still not here. You hear David talking about some weird spell and getting on Rachel's nerves. Anya is writing something on her notebook. Rest of the class is just chatting with each other. You can see the coldness between Juliette and Alice. You wonder how many of you will still be good friends by the end of your last year in Hogwarts...

Suddenly the movement of the owl disturbs your train of thought. The bird spread its wings wide open and takes off. It takes a few full turns inside the classroom around the ceiling and then slowly glides towards the professor's desk. And then in an instant the owl shapeshifts into an old man with a beer belly.

"Excuse my fancy introduction." Professor says. "But I wanted to steal the spotlight from Professor McGonagall a little bit." He laughs. "I am, as you have seen, an animagus."

The whole class is completely silent now.

"An animagus is a wizard or a witch who can turn into an animal. It is a skill that you can learn...with utmost difficulty."

He sits behind his desk and opens a big tome. "In the following weeks you will learn all about them in your Transfigurations class...but now let's talk what we will do in our class. I know you had some rough patches in the last two years. I know it can be difficult to get used to a new teacher. But I promise you I will do my best to teach you and guide you. These are dangerous and dark times in our world. And we must be able to defend ourselves against those who wish to harm us. I will not only teach you how to defend yourself but also teach you how to gather your courage."

It feels good to get the first points of the year.

"Bogarts are amortal, shapeshifter non beings that can take the form of your worst fears." Professor continues, "It is often best to face them with a friend, to confuse it. When you are more than one, the Boggart can't decide which form to take and ends up transforming something of a mix...That is of course given that if both of you and your friend don't have the exact same worst fear," He laughs. "But as you will discover in life, sometimes we are left alone in the dark, without any friends. And sometimes we need to face our fears, alone. So how can we fight a Boggart when we are alone?"

Suddenly the light of the room changes and a projection appears on the ancient blackboard. It reads, "Riddikulus"

"This is our charm to combat a Boggart," Professor continues. "It is a rather tricky charm. Not easy to master. It requires a strong will power to work. You must imagine your worst fear in a comedical situation and the charm turns Boggart into something funny. It can utterly repel the Boggart if you can manage to turn it into something funny and laugh at it. Never forget kids, it is utmost importance that you never lose your sense of humour and never stop laughing. Laughing and humour is our greatest weapon against the dark."

Professor continues for another hour and gives an assignment on Boggarts at the end of the class. Anya seems pleased with the new professor and you also get the feeling that the class was kind of fun.

The day ends eventless. You are looking forward to your first class in Care of Magical Creatures that will be in a couple of days. In the meantime you decide to,

You study on the DADA assignment. You can't help but wonder what would a Boggart transform into if it was in front of you. What do you fear most?

You don't know and most importantly you don't want to know.

You study the features of the Boggarts and then try to understand how the charm to repel them works. You try to get the right wand movement and memorize the casting.

You read on your last year's study notes to remember and practice some of the stuff you learned last year. Just as you were finishing up and putting your books away, a paper falls down on the ground between your notebooks.

It's a brown, old, dusty parchment. You take it and open it to see some sort of map. Then you remember what it was. You completely forgot about it for more than a year. It's the map, Professor Pylia had in her chest. You remember taking it from that cave where she tried to kill you in the Forbidden Forest. It shows some of the underground tunnels that spawn from Hogwarts to under the lake and under the forest. It shows some caverns, rooms, cellars and tunnels. The map seems to be incomplete as some of the tunnels are only drawn half.

Do you have any ideas on how to prepare the program for the RE meeting?

First you think about starting with something basic. You think about first getting them to perfect their Expelliarmus spell. Also you can help them with another spell in the first meeting.

You spend your time preparing notes on the club program for the RE. First you decide to focus on Expelliarmus and then get your friends work on their Verdimillious charm. You think pairing them in a dueling style would be a beneficial exercise.

After you are ready with your program you meet with Tim and reveal the map to him. He seems very impressed. Even more when you tell him you took it from Professor Pylia. "This is why you HAVE to teach us!" he says excited.

After examining the map together you narrow the options down to two locations. First one is an old smaller owlery positioned in one of the less used towers of the castle. Pylia has a note on the map next to it that says "always empty". It could be an option. You guess she used that tower to fly out of the castle unseen. Only danger there could be the nearby Prefect bathroom, that is also marked on the map. Tim seems to favour this option.

The second location that looks like deserted and far away is actually a small natural cave in one of the tunnels underneath the castle. The tunnel is drawn as going towards the lake but Pylia noted next to the tunnel saying "Blocked". So the tunnel shouldn't be being used by anyone. The cavern is closer to the lake than to the castle.

You decide on the old owlery. Tim also tells you that Anya will prepare the cards for the members.

It's wednesday afternoon and the first class of the Care of Magical Creatures is about to start. Alice, Valdis, Tim, Bryan and Juliette are in this class from Ravenclaw. There is a little bit coldness in the air due to the recent fight between two girls. You also see Rachel and Alba has chosen this one too. All students regardless of their houses take the electives together. The class seems to be mostly consisting of Gryffindors though.

The class is outside of the castle near the woods. Professor Kettleburn waits for you next to a group of white unicorns. Professor doesn't have any of his limbs apart from an arm and half a leg. He has a wooden leg instead of one and seems quite comfortable with himself. He waves at the incoming students and yells "Come over here students!"

The professor leaves for a few minutes to bring something from the nearby hut.

Valdis keeps asking you some stupid questions about unicorns while you realize there is also a coldness between Tim and Juliette. Just then you hear a girl shriek in fear. Something is wrong. You turn around to see a blonde Gryffindor girl walking backwards in fear from their unicorn. The beast seems to be quite aggressive and walking towards the girl.

As the unicorn approaches it startes to run towards you. Everyone tries to jump and run away while you try to calm her down. She comes right at you and you dodge her horn at the last possible second, while still falling to the ground on a muddy puddle. Your robes are full of wet mud and the unicorn still looks aggressively looming over you. You get afraid that she will trample you or something but with a yell from the Professor the beast calms down and walks away.

Your friends run towards you asking are you okay, and getting you up on your feet. Your right shoulder hurts a little as you fell on it but you are okay. You see David and some other kids laughing.

"Excuse Juice. She is in a bad mood in these days..." Professor says. "Are you okay boy? That was some brave thing you did."

Blonde girl also runs towards you saying, "Thank you! You are so brave! How did you do that?"

Before you can answer Professor announces that he rewards 10 points to Ravenclaw for this display of exemplary brave behaviour.

The class ends without anymore incidents and you head back to the castle.

In the evening it is announced that the Study of Ancient Runes class for this week is cancelled and it will instead start next week. You have that in common with Bryan and he tells you that he never even saw the Ancient Runes Professor this week and thinks that the Professor is not at Hogwarts yet.

You don't mind getting a day off and instead focus on what to teach during the RE meeting.

The first week passes without any more major happenings and it is time for the first meeting of the Rowenna's Eagles. You go early to the owlery to check the place a bit and tidy things up if needed.

As the hour for the meeting approaches, the Eagles start to arrive one by one. First your roommates, Tim, Valdis and Glenn arrives. They seem pretty excited and have their faith in your teaching skills.

Then Alice arrives alone.After having a quick chat with Tim she starts watch outside from the windows of the high tower and wait for the others to come.

Finally Anya, Juliette and Bryan arrives which makes the whole team. You have seven students. You all agreed to keep this a secret from the rest of your classmates in Ravenclaw and in Hogwarts in general.

They all listen to you eagerly and follow your instructions. First you tell them that you will be teaching on how to master the disarming spell.

After showing the disarming spell and the Verdimillious charm, you pair them and they start duelling with each other. One of them has to be paired with you because there are 7 of them. Alice volunteers for that.

She tries to disarm you on her first try but fails. She can cast a successful charm though. Looking around the room you see Anya and Bryan are the most successful ones. You get the feeling that they might be better than you. Tim and Glenn are also more or less okay. You show Valdis how to aim properly and also change Juliette's posture while casting a spell.

After half an hour everyone stops practicing at the same time and instead each pair tries to disarm one and other while the others are watching.

Just as the club is about to finish for today, Valdis asks you something and everyone eagerly waits for your answer. Having all the attention of the room on you is a bit weird.

"John...you said that we can use this charm to also locate dark objects. What do you mean by that? What kind of objects? Did you ever use this spell to locate something? Can you cast it like that?"

You open the door to check if you can see anything or anyone. You hear footsteps approaching from the end of the corridor. The stairs is right next to the owlery so it should be possible to run away without getting seen. You tell everyone to run quickly and they start leaving the owlery. As the voices come closer you can hear Mr. Filch talking with someone. You don't quite understand who is it he is talking to but you don't wait to find out and run away down the stairs.

All the students are out of Filch's reach now.

Back at the crowded Ravenclaw tower you sit with your friends and discuss the today's events. Valdis asks "Why don't we just practice here?" Tim shrugs, "It wouldn't work. There is too many people here and they would never leave us alone, they would ask stuff or just try to join in our class..."

Bryan nods. "Yeah we can't do it here. It's not feasible."

"What do you think John?" Anya asks, "You are the teacher of the Eagles after all." She smiles warmly to you.

It is from the Headmaster. You open the letter and quickly read it. You spend the weekend focusing on the Study of Ancient Runes. The more you read about this subject the more you are fascinated by it. You really can't understand how can someone NOT select this elective course. It's a no brainer.

You read the first chapter in the book throughly and take notes and highlights. It's mostly an introduction chapter that introduces the basic runic alphabets used by several civilizations throughout the history. The book mostly focuses on the magical history of Britain so you read the ancient runes of Anglo-Saxons but also the Celtic Britons before the Saxons arrived. It's very interesting stuff. The book explains that many of the old more potent and powerful ancient rune spells and magic are lost now. But it is still possible with intense study and dedication to create powerful wards and other magical effects.

You also prepare the next week's program for the RE club. You think about mostly focusing on Flipendo and Four Point Spell to show not all defense can be maintained by offensive spells, but also utility is really important to survive in dangerous situations.

You can hear Tim and Anthony talking about something about the Quidditch team while walking down the corridor. It kind of makes you feel strange but you try not to think about it.

You try to focus on your next class and head down to breakfast. You take some fresh bread, dip it to olive oil with oregano and rosemary. Bryan and Juliette sits next to you at the table. You talk with Bryan on some details about the RE club. Then Juliette offers to teach Transfigurations at at the club in one of the meetings. You think it's a good idea since you are also not so good at that course.

After the breakfast you head to the DADA class. The professor has a big chest standing in the middle of the class and all of the desks are removed.

Professor Noctua collects the assignments and then instructs the class to form a line.

Everybody forms a single line in front of the chest. "There is a Boggart in this chest, right now." He says.

You hear gasps and excitement all across the classroom.

"I prefer a much more hands on method when I am teaching my classes." The professor says, suddeny winking at you. Or at least you think that's what you say. "Now I want you to remember all the things you learned last week and all the things you studied for your assignment. Prepare yourself to imagine the Boggart in a funny situation and then cast your charm to repel it."

First to go is Glenn.

The professor opens the chest and suddenly an old woman comes out. She comes right at Glenn with a scolding face and pointing her finger at him. Suddenly Glenn raises his wand and the old woman starts to break dance.

Next up is Tim. Tim comes up to the front of the line and the Boggart changes into a burning fire. For a second Tim steps backward as if about to run away. Then he controls himself and shouts "Riddikulus!" the fire suddenly turns into a giant ice cream.

Next up is Valdis. The Boggart suddenly turns into a massive two-headed Ettin with a giant club on his hand. Valdis shrieks and drops his wand. He seems completely white and afraid. The Ettin comes closer waving his club. Valdis crawls down on the floor and tries to get his wand up. You get tense.

Finally Valdis grabs his wand and casts the spell. The Ettin's heads start to fight with each other and it falls down on his back.

Next up is Juliette. She faces a giant werewolf. After her is David. Strangely the Boggart turns into David himself but he looks completely miserable, with a broken wand, dirty and ripped clothes and a sick yellow look on his face. He casts the spell and turns the Boggart into a King version of himself with a crown and a staff.

After that comes Anya. She seems quite ready and fearless. The Boggart turns into a man. It's a man in a pitch black suit. He also wears black sunglasses. Anya quickly casts the spell and the man turns into a clown with bright red hair and white face with a yellow suit.

Next up is Rachel. You stand right behind her. Her blonde hair is tied up with her emerald hair band and you can see she is wearing her usual silver necklace too. She seems to be calm and her wand is at the ready.

The Boggart turns into a strange object. It looks like to be made of wood. There are also branches of wood at the bottom and the object seems to form a kind of stake as it goes up. Rachel seems shaken at the sight. The wooden stake post just looms there like an ominous sign.

You see Rachel squeezing her wand so tight that you worry it would break.

She clenches her teeth and then you hear her whisper the word "Riddikulus"

The wooden post turns into a glock of white dove flying away.

She drops her wand and runs away, out of the classroom.

You grab her wand and run after her. You just bolt right out of the classroom worried about your friend. You run through the hall and then turn around. You find Rachel standing at the corridor, leaning on the window looking outside. You realize she is crying. She is shaking and sniffing. You don't really have any idea how to handle such a situation.

She turns around to face you, her eyes are red and wet. Her green hairband is shifted and her hair looks messy. A blue bird flies away near the window and you think for a split second how liberating it is to be able to fly. The sun shines and dazzle your eyes. You can see bits of dust gleefully flying in the sunlight. But she doesn't say anything. She looks shaken and you can see in her look that she is deeply sad.

You hand her the wand. She takes it slowly.

You see her looking up towards you. She has an expressionless face.

"Sometimes I want to kill them all," Rachel says slowly.

Before you can respond she continues. "That is not something I fear. Or something that I shouldn't worry about." She wipes the tears away from her cheeks. She looks more like a viper getting ready to attack rather than a crying small girl now.

"I..." you start but she interrupts.

"It's my mom."
