>>Information

This quest, as the title suggests, takes place in the world of Dragon Ball. You're playing as a twenty-seven year old man named Tofoo, and will adventure through the story of the Dragonball series alongside characters such as Goku, Yamcha, Bulma, Tien, and many others. Through your actions, you can make significant changes to the story, and perhaps even become the strongest fighter on Earth.

>Rules

At the end of each update you'll have ten minutes to vote on options. Write-ins are allowed, but I do reserve the right to veto them.

In the event of a draw, the option to receive the next vote wins

Rolls will be used on certain occasions, such as attempting a technique for the first time or attempting something extremely difficult. You will have three rolls, and if one succeeds, you succeed. There are no crits.

Rolls are made AFTER an option wins, not during the voting process

I hope everyone has fun.

Unsurprisingly, Tenshinhan has already gotten started on his training, just like the others. After a few minutes of flying in the direction of his energy signature, you find your ally on a rocky cliff overlooking the ocean, nimbly dodging rocks that are being flung his way, and retaliating with balls of energy that his opponent swiftly moves to dodge.

As you draw closer, Chaozu looks up in your direction, and Tenshinhan takes the opportunity to strike.

"You're open!" he shouts, elbowing Chaozu in the face, and sending the tiny man tumbling backward toward the edge of the cliff.

Chaozu stops, winding up in a sitting position and rubbing his face.

Tenshinhan turns away from his partner, looking up at you with an expression of irritation.

"Tofoo," he greets. "What is it?"

Clearly, he's not pleased to have his training interrupted so soon.

"There's a party at the Lookout tomorrow," you tell him. "And all the Kais are going to be there."

"The Kais?" the warrior asks. "I see, you're hoping to pick up some new techniques or training strategies from them. Clever."

You nod in confirmation.

"Well then, Chaozu and I will be there," he tells you, his irritation going away.

It seems like pretty much everybody's going to be there, but while you're talking to Tenshinhan, you may as well ask about Yamcha.

"Do you know what he's up to?" you ask.

Tenshinhan frowns again, shaking his head. "No. I just hope that it's important."

"So do I," you tell your fellow warrior before taking your leave.

Moving far away as the two fighters resume their training, you begin to search for Yamcha's energy signature, soon finding it. Based on how high it's raised, you think he must be fighting, or training at least. Still, he's not at full power, which is odd. As you focus, you can just barely make out a second energy signature with him, one which feels familiar, but that you can't really place.

Wanting to find out what's going on, and needing to tell Yamcha about the upcoming gathering, you follow his energy signature to West City, specifically to his home, where he stands in the front yard, fending off attacks.

His opponent, you quickly observe, is none other than his girlfriend, Lazuli, who is dressed in a pink track suit, and attacking Yamcha with everything she has. Though, considering how low her energy level is, and the relative lack of technique she's displaying, all she has is far and away from something Yamcha wouldn't be able to handle.

She throws a high kick that Yamcha manages to block with his arm, then pulls her leg back and kicks again, this time aiming for his chest. This time, Yamcha grabs her ankle.

Lazuli's eyes narrow, and Yamcha smirks at her before releasing her ankle. She jumps back, then rushes forward, throwing a solid punch aimed right at his face. Yamcha easily parries, and thrusts a hand toward her, pushing her away with a burst of his energy.

He then turns toward you."Hey Tofoo, what's going on, man?"

"I was going to ask you the same thing," you tell him.

Yamcha chuckles. "I told you I had something important to do."

Well, now you see what that something is. Lazuli has never struck you as the type to pursue martial arts with any real commitment, but you suppose, given the circumstances, it makes sense. Still, you aren't sure how powerful she can really become in three years.

You suppose that you'll find out.

"There's a party at Kami's Lookout tomorrow," you tell your friend. "All of the Kais are going to be there."

"The Kais?" Yamcha asks, shocked. "Really? Tenshinhan told me they hardly ever get together, I've got to see this!"

"So, does that mean no training tomorrow?" Lazuli asks her boyfriend, seeming stuck somewhere between relief and irritation.

"Well, climbing Korin Tower should be great training for you," Yamcha tells her with a grin.

You swear the temperature drops ten degrees in an instant as Lazuli gives Yamcha a terrifying glare.

In any case, it seems Yamcha will be there tomorrow.

"Good luck with your training," you tell the pair before leaving them be and flying on home.

Landing on the front lawn, you make your way inside, deciding on what to do next.

You have some difficulty deciding between finding your wife, and heading for the gravity chamber. Fortunately, you don't have to choose, as you're informed that Bulma has gone to the gravity chamber herself.

So, that's where you go, stepping inside to find your wife hard at work on the room's systems.

You still can't wrap your head around how that woman can do stuff like that, but you surely aren't complaining. Your wife can do some amazing things.

She sees you come in, and sets her tools aside as she turns to face you.

"I thought you went to train at the Lookout," she says to you.

You explain to her about the upcoming gathering of the Kais, and ask if she could possibly prepare some food for it for tomorrow.

"I'll make sure there's plenty of food," she promises, smiling. "And I'll make sure to make myself look gorgeous."

Deciding that's a good idea, you go inside and walk the familiar path to your son's room, finding him sleeping soundly in his crib.

For a moment, you just stand there, and take in the appearance of your child. He looks so peaceful, so innocent. It's hard to believe that one day he'll grow into a hardened warrior capable of killing the likes of Freeza.

Then again, if you can stop these Androids, he might not have to. Maybe he'll be a simple martial artist who does it for fun rather than fighting to save the planet. Maybe he'll take after his mother and become a brilliant scientist. Maybe he'll do neither.

Whatever he chooses, you just want to make sure he has a future to look forward to, even if you aren't there to see it.

But, you pray that you are.

In three years, you're supposed to lose your life in battle with the Androids, one of the first casualties that mark their reign of tower. In the future your son traveled back from, you failed. You couldn't protect your world, your family, your friends. You left your wife to raise Trunks alone, you left Trunks to grow up without a father. And, you left your child, and your friend's children to fight to fix a mistake you and Goku made over a decade ago.

Reaching into the crib, you gently lift your son, who stirs slightly at the sudden movement, but remains asleep. You hold him close, and plant a kiss on his forehead.

In one future, you failed him. You don't intend to make that mistake this time.

Placing Trunks back in his crib, you leave Capsule Corp, flying from West City as the sun begins to set. You fly until you spot a nice, empty area where you can train in peace.

Setting down, you ready yourself, remembering what it is you're fighting for, and feeling your determination swell up.

Team healer + energy refiller might be handy.

There's more than 1 way to grant that wish, too.
Som is probably not gonna give us the Senzu bag from the last quest.
Summoning a restorer from somewhere in the galaxy who wants to be on a new planet for whatever reason might give interesting character dynamics.
Giving an existing character the healing + energy regen skills would keep them relevant, but considering Tofoo is the team's energy specialist, it's likely the skills will end up on Tofoo, and Som's gonna veto the hell out of that to stop us from going KumaKenx100 and using the HP + Energy restore on ourselves to not exhausted + not dead.
Suppose we could just summon some immobile fixture, such as a fountain. Though given the choice of where to summon it, the obvious choice is probably "At Capsule Corp" and Capsule Corp now gets rich selling bottled Not Die.
>>
>>1422741
I think if we summon a healer we're gonna get a Namekian sage.
That'd be cool, but then it might just end up being Dende and he needs to be the new guardian once Piccolo fuses with Kami.
>>
>>1422746
Fine by me, but what motive would Dende have for wanting to come to earth?
The Dragon won't grant transport wishes on beings more powerful than it, and we probably don't want to just kidnap someone if they don't wanna be here.

Then again, we might not really need a wish, given that 3 years is more than enough time to just Go to a place and come back,
and king kai can relatively easily send out a galactic "LF1M Healz to stop evil guy(s) more powerful than Frieza, on Earth, PST for inv"

It's a bit strange that Earth doesn't really get any visitors after the Cell saga, considering the level of power of Earth's inhabitants at that time is broadcast so hard the galaxy feels it.
You'd expect you'd get tons of space tourists showing up saying "Heard there were strong dudes here, I wanna spar / learn / get autographs / beg for help with local problem"
>>
>>1422760
Earth is a backwater planet and most people in the Northern Quadrant can't even sense Ki.
Maybe if we get in touch with whatever galactic federation Earth fall under the jurisdiction of, we can start hosting open tournaments on Earth.
At the very least we could start broadcasting footage of previous tournaments.
>>
>>1422763
Nah, every tournament before the Cell games is small fry.
Plus, stellar attention could be a bad thing. Not because of really strong dudes who we need to punch to make Earth not exploded,
but because of interstellar moneylenders, conglomerates, drug/sex traders, intellectual property holders, ideologues with an agenda, and politicians who can be bribed to make laws benefiting the above groups at the expense of earth locals.
>>
>>1422768
We could just establish ourselves as our own federation. At the very least we'd be recognized as the rulers in our solar system.
But before intergalactic politics, we should probably focus on not dying to the androids and perhaps getting a healer.

Always had a soft spot for the Kai opening.

The next day finds you almost giddy with anticipation. The Earth's strongest fighters are gathering on Kami's Lookout, and the gods that rule over the very universe are coming to a great banquet prepared by your world's Guardian. Beyond that, the god who rules over the other gods, the Grand Kai himself, will be in attendance. There's so much potential to learn new techniques or to find new training methods.

Somewhere, Goku's probably thinking along the same lines.

You're up bright and early, showered, and dressed in your martial arts garb. Before your family is even awake, you're all ready to go.

Bulma, in contrast, wakes up at a reasonable hour, takes time getting herself ready, and works to make herself look as good as possible. And while you hate waiting around for her to do this kind of thing, you can't argue with the results; she looks beautiful.

Wearing a blue dress that hugs her form in all the right places, some wonderful-smelling perfume, and letting her hair freely frame her lovely face, she's absolutely stunning.

And, she's ready by eleven AM, at least an hour before the party's set to begin.

"Think we should bring Trunks?" she asks, gathering some capsules.

"Sure," you tell her, going into your son's room while she finishes getting her things together.

Trunks is already awake, and he smiles as you pick him up, soon laughing as you lift him higher.

"Daddy!" he says joyously as you carry him out into the hallway, finding Bulma finished gathering her things, and holding a capsule in her hand.

"Trunks and I will take the airship," Bulma tells you, reaching out to take your son. "I assume you're flying there."

"Nah, I'll take the ship, too," you reply.

The three of you load into the ship, and Bulma pilots the vehicle while you hold Trunks on your lap. It's not as fast as your kind of flight, but it still doesn't take very long for you to reach the Land of Korin, at which point you simply have to wait through a short flight upwards before you reach the Lookout, where Kami, Popo, Goku, Suno, and Kori are already gathered.

Finding a good place to land, Bulma capsulizes the ship once everyone is out, and your family makes your way over to the others.

"Hi, Uncle Tofoo!" Kori greets cheerfully. "Hi, Aunt Bulma!"

Bulma smiles sweetly at the girl. "Hello Kori."

Kori blinks, staring at the child, who stares back at her.

"Hi Kori...." Trunks manages to say immediately after.

The girl smiles. "Hi, Trunks!"

The four of you move to join the main group. Popo is laying dishes out on the table, while Goku is already scarfing down food. Suno is talking to Kami, but the two look over as you get closer.

"Welcome, Tofoo," your old mentor greets.

"Anyone else here yet?" you ask as Kori rushes to join her father at the buffet table.

"No, but they should be shortly," Kami tells you.

"Good job on the party," you compliment. "And Mr. Popo, great job with the food."

Kami's assistant smiles at you, giving a nod of acknowledgement. Meanwhile, the Guardian himself simply looks around, seeming rather nervous.

"I just hope it's enough to satisfy the Kais, especially Grand Kai," he tells you.

"Don't worry so much, Kami," Goku advises, his mouth full of food. "This is great! They're gonna love it!"

"Not everyone's as easy to please as you, Goku," Suno remarks with a chuckle. "But really, this is pretty amazing. A party on God's lookout, with all the higher gods invited? I never thought I'd see something like this."

"Well, you're just a lucky girl," someone says from nearby.

Turning toward the sound, you spot King Kai slowly approaching the gathering. His hands are held behind his back, and a smile is on his face as he takes everything in.

"Not bad, Kami," he tells the Guardian, who looks positively shocked at the praise. "Not bad at all. Quite the spread. View's not all that exciting, but what can you do?"

"O-oh, King Kai, if the view isn't to your liking, I can change our location," Kami volunteers.

"Nah, don't worry about it," King Kai says dismissively.

"Not at all," Suno answers. "Then again, I really wasn't sure what a Kai looks like, so I guess this makes as much sense as anything else."

"I guess," Bulma sighs.

Taking your wife by the arm, you lead her over to King Kai, introducing the two to one-another.

"Oh, pleasure to meet you, ma'am," King Kai greets with a bow.

Bulma seems surprised, but pleased, offering him a smile. "Nice to meet you, too."

"So, you're really King Kai?" Goku asks, having gotten up from the table and approached the god.

"Yes, Goku," King Kai answers, glancing toward him. "Didn't you recognize my voice?"

"Well, yeah," Goku answers. "It's just, you don't look very godly."

King Kai begins to look irritated, and matters aren't helped when Goku begins to move around him, poking him in various places.

Before Goku can cause any more trouble, or offend any more gods, you grab him by the ear and drag him back to the buffet table, where he begins to rub his ear as you make your way back toward King Kai.

"Sorry about him," Suno sighs, giving her husband a little glare as you rejoin the group.

"So, are the other Kais on their way?" you inquire.

"They should be," King Kai answers. "East Kai usually likes to show up "fashionably late" as she calls it, and I can never tell with South Kai. If I had to guess who's going to show up first...."

"Long time no see, Northie!"

Turning toward the new voice, you spot a purple-skinned creature, even shorter than King Kai, but with similar ears and garb. He walks around with a conceited grin, and an air of confidence, which seems to irritate King Kai.

"West Kai," King Kai greets, not hiding his displeasure.

"Not much of a turnout here, is it?" the smaller Kai asks, eyes surveying the Lookout. "I should have figured this would be nothing special."

"Don't worry, great King Kai!" Kami pleads, bowing low. "More guests will be arriving shortly, I promise you!"

As if on cue, three more figures shoot up through the sky by the Lookout, swooping in and landing close by.

Krillin, Chi-Chi, and Konattsu.

You're the first to approach him, introducing yourself as Tofoo.

"Tofoo, eh?" West Kai asks. "Well, if you're here, I'm guessing you must be one of those "great fighters" North Kai keeps going on about."

"That's right!" King Kai declares. "Tofoo here is one of the strongest living warriors in the North Quadrant!"

"That isn't saying very much," West Kai remarks, much to the anger of North Kai.

"Not as strong as I'd like to be," you admit, earning a smug smirk from West Kai.

"You're being modest!" King Kai shouts. "Power up! Use your Kuma-Ken and show just how strong you are!"

Unsure of the reason behind this animosity between the two Kais, you nonetheless follow King Kai's instructions, locking your elbows at your side and letting out a yell.

West Kai takes a surprised step back as your energy begins to shoot up, climbing higher and higher before you reach the peak of your base power.

"Alright, not too bad," West Kai admits. "With some real training, you might become a good martial artist."

"KUMA-KEN!" you roar, a green aura surrounding your body as a powerful gust of energy shoots out in every direction.

West Kai stares at you wide-eyed as your power continues to climb higher, and higher, and higher.

You point at Trunks. "There's no telling how strong he'll get."

Trunks giggles for some reason.

"So, do you train martial artists?" you ask.

"If you consider his students martial artists," a woman's voice comments.

You spot another newcomer, clearly a Kai (though apparently female), making her way toward you. She has yellowish skin, orange hair, and a mole on her face. She has that smug look about her as well, though she does smile a bit at her fellow Kais.

"You take that back!" West Kai shouts, only to turn his anger on a chuckling King Kai

"So, this is Earth, huh?" the woman asks, making her way to the edge of the Lookout.

She waves her right hand, and stares down for a moment.

"Not a bad world, really," she remarks, turning away from the edge and approaching the others. "I haven't seen many worlds this lush and green, especially in this quadrant."

"What's that supposed to mean?!" King Kai demands.

"It means the North Quadrant is a dump," the woman declares. "This planet just seems to be the rare exception."

By this point, Kami seems ready to pass out from fear as he observes the three Kais gathered together.

Bulma, meanwhile, eyes the woman, the look on her face making it clear that she finds this Kai kind of repulsive.

Three figures step around the side of the Lookout's main building, strolling side-by-side in a line as they approach. They're a very odd-looking bunch, and you can sense a great deal of power radiating from them.

In the middle of the bunch stands a large, reptilian creature with purple skin, a long snout, a longer tail, two horns on his head, and thankfully, a pair of pants. His appearance reminds you just a little bit of the monster you battled in your first World Tournament.

To his left is a short, bearded creature with dark skin. Honestly, he looks pretty human, but other than Baba, and maybe Chaozu, you've never seen an Earthling that tiny.

And, to the monster's right is a humanoid creature of average human height and build. However, he is clearly not human, and in fact boasts a rather insect-like appearance, including a large pair of wings. This appearance, along with the red color of his skin, makes him stand out quite a bit.

They may have very different appearances, but they all have one thing in common; a golden ring above their heads.

"Hey, what gives?!" King Kai demands as the other three Kais chuckle.

"Well, Northie, you've been going on and on about how great your warriors are," West Kai explains.

"So we thought we'd bring some of our own," East Kai continues.

"We figured it'd be fun to see just what your prized students are made of," South Kai explains.

Goku drops his food and leaps from the buffet table, looking absolutely giddy. "So, they came to fight us?!"

South Kai nods. "That's exactly right."

"That's right, Tofoo," she confirms. "They have the whole day to enjoy this little party, though I'm pretty sure their teachers want for them to spend most of it fighting you."

"Awesome!" you shout, with Goku laughing joyously.

"I agree," someone says from nearby.

Looking toward the main entrance to the Lookou't facilities, you spot a figure stepping out of the shadows.

He has the appearance of an old man, with a white beard, long hair of the same color, a jean jacket, and a pair of shades covering his eyes. His pointed ears are a good indicator that he isn't human, but you know that's an understatement.

This is a god that lords over the four rulers of the Universe.

The Grand Kai.

"I figured that with you four gettin' together like this, something fun was bound to happen," he comments, drawing closer to the group.

Kami drops to his knees, bowing before the old man, and Popo follows his lead, while most of the others look at them in confusion.

"Ah, come on, Kami," the old man says to the Guardian. "Get up. This is your bash after all, and you did a swell job putting it together."

Slowly, Kami raises his head, daring to stand soon after.

The Grand Kai looks to you. "Yo, Tofoo, good to see ya, my man."

Introductions are made, continuing over the next several minutes as more and more of the Earth's warriors begin to show up. Soon, everyone has arrived, save Yamcha and Lazuli, who you can sense somewhere below. It seems Yamcha was serious about having his girlfriend climb Korin Tower.

Poor dolt's gonna be sleeping on the couch tonight.

"So, these are the fighters you've been droning on about?" East Kai asks King Kai, clearly unimpressed. "I doubt they'd last more than two seconds against one of my warriors."

"Is that a fact?" King Kai asks, sounding amused.

"They wouldn't even be able to keep up with Chapuchai's movements," East Kai insists.

"Really?" King Kai asks, smirking. "Several of my students have trained at enhanced levels of gravity, with weighted clothing no less. I think their speed might surprise you."

"Come on, North Kai," South Kai laughs. "We all use training weights, it's not that big a deal."

"Tenshinhan's third eye can keep up with anybody," you declare, earning a scrutinizing look from East Kai.

"Is that so?" she questions, eyes scanning your group of friends before resting on the man of whom you spoke. "Well then, Tenshinhan, would you care to prove your friend's boast?"

Smiling confidently, the three-eyed man steps forward, pounding his fists together. "Why not? It sounds like this may be a good test for me."

The short, bearded man steps forward, smirking up at Tenshinhan, and dropping into a fighting stance.

"Please, wait a moment!" Kami cries out fearfully. "I beg you, don't do this on my Lookout!"

East Kai throws an irritated glance toward the Guardian, who begins to shake, drawing a look of disgust from Piccolo.

"Very well," East Kai says, clearly unhappy. "We can use the forest below."

"About that...." Kami stammers. "The land below is is sacred, and home to good-hearted people. I would hate to see them harmed in the crossfire."

East Kai lets out a frustrated groan. "So then, what do you suggest, Guardian? You're hardly being a gracious host in denying us our fun!"

"Calm down, East Kai," West Kai tells her. "The Guardian is just doing his job."

Giving West Kai a relieved look, Kami looks toward East Kai. "I can transport the Lookout to an uninhabited area, one where these warriors can battle without anybody being harmed in the process."

"Oh, very well," East Kai relents.

"Wait, the Lookout can move?" you ask Kami.

"It hasn't had to in quite some time," he answers. "But if the need arises, I can transport it to another location."

"Well, before you do that, I should let Yamcha and Lazuli know," you tell the Guardian, rushing to the edge of the Lookout and leaping off the side.

Dropping down a ways, you find the pair climbing Korin Tower, with Yamcha clearly having no trouble at all, but Lazuli looking ready to pass out at any moment. Her face is drenched in sweat, and she's breathing quite heavily.

You take a moment to consider just how high she is, and how little training she's had, and are quite impressed that she's managed to get this far. Still, at this rate, she won't even see the top before this becomes too much for her.

"Come on, babe, keep going," Yamcha encourages.

Lazuli glares up at him. "I'm going to kill you for this."

Yamcha chuckles nervously, then notices you descending. "Hey, man!"

"Kami's moving the Lookout," you inform the two.

"He can do that?" Yamcha asks in surprise.

Lazuli groans. "Then what's the point of climbing this stupid tower?!"

"Training," Yamcha tells her. "What else?"

"Maybe you should help her up to the Lookout," you suggest. "Or back to the bottom of the tower. You know, let her take a break?"

Yamcha shakes his head. "No. She needs to either get up or down on her own."

Lazuli narrows her eyes. "Well, if that's the only rule."

She lets go of the tower, leaning back and letting herself fall through the air. Closing her eyes for a moment, she stops herself just within your sight, and begins flying upward, soon coming to your level.

"So, how much higher is the Lookout?" she asks.

Lazuli glances toward Yamcha, who looks ready to berate her for slacking off on training, and just lets out a sigh.

"I'll manage," she promises. "Now, let's get going."

The three of you fly high into the air, above the clouds, and even above Korin Tower, until finally, you reach the Lookout.

Lazuli collapses as soon as she lands, and Yamcha rushes to her side, helping her stand up and taking her to get something to drink. Krillin, Chi-Chi, Suno, and Bulma all look toward the blonde woman with concern, though the rest seem more focused on getting this battle underway.

Kami kneels down, placing his right hand on one of the tiles, and closing his eyes. You feel the ground beneath you shudder just a bit, then notice the clouds below you seeming to move.

"Looks like we're on our way," Tenshinhan remarks.

He's talking to you, but while his two normal eyes are looking your way, his third eye is staring right at Chapuchai, who smirks in his direction before walking toward East Kai.

As the little warrior makes his way toward his teacher, you try to get a feel for what kind of power he may possess. It quickly becomes apparent that, as he is now, Tenshinhan can defeat him. However, you can tell that he's not displaying his full strength. He's not outright hiding it, he's just in a rested state right now. At full power, you aren't sure what to expect from him.

"How are you feeling about this battle?" you ask your comrade.

"A bit nervous," he admits. "This fighter came all the way from Otherworld, and is one of that Kai's top students. I have no idea what to expect, and to be honest, that makes me a little excited."

You smile. Tenshinhan is a martial artist through and through.

Leaving him to properly psyche up for the coming fight, you decide to check up on Lazuli, who you find at the buffet table gulping down nearly a gallon of water. Yamcha's nearby, filling two plates with food while having a chat with Chaozu.

While Lazuli waits for Yamcha to bring her some lunch, you take a seat beside her, asking if she's alright.

"You'll get there," you assure her. "But, why are you training in martial arts? First Lapis decides to try it, now you. You two have really changed a lot since we first met in North City."

Lazuli rolls her eyes. "It's been a long time since then, Tofoo, we've all changed. But, Lapis is still a lot like he was back then. He probably only decided to start training because he thought it would be fun and exciting. It's just the next thrill for him to chase."

"And what about you?" you ask, looking over at her.

She turns her head toward you, a hesitant expression on her face. Ultimately, she seems to get over any reservations she may have had about answering, and addresses your question.

"Yamcha came home yesterday and told me about what's coming," she tells you. "In three years, a couple of killing machines show up, and nobody can stop them. Yamcha dies, Lapis dies, you die, everybody who tries to stand up to them gets killed. Yamcha wants me to get stronger so I can protect myself when they arrive."

"But why did you decide to listen?" you ask, knowing that she's not one to just go along with what other people want her to do.

She turns her head away from you, and sighs again, her cold demeanor giving way to a more vulnerable look. "Because I want to protect Yamcha."

"In three years, he dies with the rest, and there are no Dragonballs to bring him back," she continues. "I can't let that happen."

Walking at Goku's side, you come to the edge of the Lookout, finding that it now hangs over a large, rocky wasteland, one of many that seems to cover your planet.

Tenshinhan and Chapuchai land across from one another, with each dropping into fighting stances.

East Kai watches over the impending battle with a smirk on her face, while King Kai watches with slightly more subdued confidence.

"Chapuchai!" the female Kai shouts. "You'd better not lose!"

"Tenshinhan!" King Kai shouts. "Same goes for you!"

"Honestly, if they're going to act like this, I should just put them in the ring," Grand Kai remarks as he comes to observe.

Tenshinhan makes the first move, speeding toward the small man, preparing to open things up with a bang.

Chuckling, the smaller man's body seems to stretch for a moment, before a second Chapuchai appears, and a third, and a forth, and a fifth, and a sixth, and finally, a seventh.

Tenshinhan stops his charge, and the seven small fighters begin to laugh.

"He really is fast," Goku remarks with a smile.

"That's not the multiform technique, then?" you ask.

Goku shakes his head. "No, he's doing something else entirely."

Focusing on Chapuchai, you do your best to track his energy, but find that to be a no-go, as it seems to be emanating from all seven of the little men. Abandoning that tactic, you instead try to feel for the vibrations in the air.

That's when you feel it. It takes a moment, but you quickly realize that although seven Chapuchais appear to be remaining motionless in front of their foe, the small warrior is actually in motion, moving so fast that he's actually managing to occupy seven different spaces at the same instant.

It kind of reminds you of the time you battled Goku at the World Martial Arts Tournament, when the two of you moved so quickly that you seemed to vanish into thin air.

Tenshinhan doesn't appear to realize that, yet. He stays still, waiting for the seven fighters to make some kind of move.

Chapuchai doesn't keep him waiting, and the little warrior charges, all "seven" leaping into the air and coming toward Tenshinhan at various angles.

They draw closer, and closer, until Tenshinhan turns toward one of them, lets out a yell, and punches downward, catching Chapuchai in the back of the head and sending him slamming into the ground.

King Kai laughs in triumph, as East Kai lets out a horrified cry.

"Impossible!" she declares.

Chapuchai twitches, struggling to pull himself up as Tenshinhan stares down at him. The little warrior glares up at his larger foe, leaping to attack. Tenshinhan lets out another yell, kicking the tiny man into the air.

Chapuchai flies higher and higher, finally stopping himself and charging back down toward Tenshinhan.

The three-eyed man leaps into the air, and you notice an odd grin on his face as he brings his hands together.

"VOLLEYBALL FIST!"

>A. What?

"Oh, this should be good," you comment, a little smile coming to your face as Tenshinhan races toward his foe.

As the shout suggests, Tenshinhan slams his joined hands up into the other warrior, sending him flying higher. As Chapuchai tumbles through the air, Tenshinhan rushes up, getting above him and spiking the smaller fighter like a volleyball, sending him crashing into the ground below, and creating a nasty hole in the ground into which the little guy disappears.

King Kai erupts into laughter. "Oh man, that's great! Volleyball Fist! I'll have to remember that one!"

"SHUT YOUR MOUTH!" East Kai demands of her colleague before turning her attention to the hole in the ground. "CHAPUCHAI, DON'T YOU DARE EMBARRASS ME!"

"I'd say that ship has sailed," South Kai comments, earning a snort from West Kai.

"SHUT UP!" East Kai howls.

"Tenshinhan's got this in the bag," Yamcha says with confidence.

"Yeah, this wasn't even a real fight," Krillin agrees.

"Don't call the match so early," Grand Kai advises. "Chapuchai still has a trick or two left."

"Have you seen Chapuchai fight before?" you ask the Grand Kai.

"Once or twice," he answers. "I like to go around every now and again to check on the state of the fighters using my world to train, ya know?"

"Well, whatever Chapuchai has planned, Tenshinhan can handle it," you assure the Grand Kai.

"You sure do have faith in your friend," he remarks, his tone making it seem that he considers that a positive thing.

"It's not faith," Goku tells him. "Tenshinhan's the better fighter. Chapuchai's got speed as his only advantage, and he relies on that for cheap tricks. Tenshinhan might not be as fast, but his third eye can see through plenty of illusions. Unless Chapuchai has some really powerful techniques up his sleeve, he doesn't stand a chance."

"What?!" East Kai demands.

Grand Kai laughs. "I'll give you this; you two tell it like it is."

Tenshinhan hovers over the hole in the ground, his guard not relaxing in the slightest.

"Come out!" he demands. "I can sense your energy down there, I know you aren't done!"

Piccolo suddenly scowls, and a moment later, you feel multiple energy signatures coming from the hole in the ground. One by one, seven Chapuchai's come crawling out of the hole, spreading out beneath Tenshinhan.

"Come on, that trick again?" Lapis asks.

Piccolo growls. "Fool, if you bothered using senses other than your eyes, you'd know that he's done something different this time."

"It looks like the Multiform Technique," Chaozu comments.

"But, am I crazy, or did his power not decrease at all?" Lazuli asks.

She's right, though Chapuchai has split into seven different bodies, each one appears to have the same level of power Chapuchai held while a single person.

"There we go," East Kai approves. "That's more like it! Now show these arrogant weaklings what the Eastern Quadrant can do!"

"So, do you boys still think your friend has this?" Grand Kai asks.

"I've died enough times to know that nobody, anywhere has ever "got this"," you tell the Grand Kai.

"Quite a change of tone from where you were a few seconds ago," East Kai remarks in a haughty tone.

"Tenshinhan will be fine," Goku declares with confidence.

"We'll see," East Kai tells him. "Chapuchai! End this already!"

The seven Chapuchai's rocket up toward Tenshinhan, who grits his teeth and gets ready to defend himself. Two of the smaller fighters reach him right away and begin to attack head-on, though Tenshinhan is easily able to fend them off.

As the others circle around him, however, Tenshinhan finds himself much harder pressed to ward away the attacks, and before long, one of the Chapuchai's manages to kick him in the back, throwing him into the fist of another Chapuchai.

Within seconds, Tenshinhan is being hit back and forth around the circle of Chapuchai's, seeming to not even be attempting to fight back, oddly enough. As you watch, you notice that his skin seems to turn red, and his body stiffens. As the Chapuchai's kick at him again, he manages to keep himself sturdy, and makes no reaction to the attacks beyond some small grunts.

This surprised the warriors, who pause in their attacks, giving Tenshinhan the chance that he needs. With a yell, he blows the seven fighters back with a burst of energy, then rapidly rises into the air.

"After him!" East Kai demands, her warriors obeying and giving chase at once.

As Tenshinhan rises toward the sun, you realize what's about to happen.

Moving quickly, you rush over to Bulma and Trunks, covering both of their eyes and shutting your own in anticipation for what Tenshinhan is about to do.

"SOLAR FLARE!"

You hear several people, Kais included, cry out in a mixture of pain and surprise as Tenshinhan's technique unleashes a blinding flash of light. When you open your eyes, you see Tenshinhan hanging in the air over the Chapuchais, every one of which has been blinded by the technique.

You uncover your wife and son's eyes, watching as Tenshinhan's body stiffens up once again, and he lets out a scream of agony. You cringe, knowing what he's doing.

Two arms sprout from his back in a rather painful-looking manner, and he points down at the Chapuchai's with all four hands, gathering up his energy.

"DODONPA!" he shouts, unleashing four waves of light that quickly streak down and strike four of his foes.

The Chapuchais cry out in surprise as they're sent crashing into the ground below. As the remaining three look down toward their allies in shock, Tenshinhan rushes in, doing a double-axe-handle strike with his top two arms, and sending one of the Chapuchai's crashing into the ground.

The remaining two turn on him and attack, but with his superior skill, and four arms, Tenshinhan is able to easily stop their attacks before countering and sending them plummeting to join their friends.

Pointing down with all four hands once again, Tenshinhan takes a moment to gather his energy this time, letting out a yell as crackling energy surrounds his fingers.

"DODONPA!" he shouts at the top of his lungs, sending four large waves of energy down toward his prone enemies, who have just enough time to look up in horror before they are struck.

The ensuing explosion is almost as bright as the Solar Flare, and massive chunks of dirt and debris are sent flying in all directions, clouds of dust rising to obscure much of the surrounding area.

You may not be able to see, but you can sense that all but one of the energy signatures has altogether disappeared.

Sure enough, when the dust clears, you see a single Chapuchai, lying scorched and still in the middle of a colossal crater.

"CHAPUCHAI, NO!" East Kai shrieks.

"Looks like we have a winner," South Kai observes.

"Yes, it looks like Northie isn't the one that was blowing his fighter's strength out of proportion," West Kai agrees.

"BOTH OF YOU BE QUIET!" East Kai orders.

"Well, that was quite the show," Grand Kai compliments. "Tenshinhan, you've got some serious skill."

"Thank you, sir," the warrior replies as he descends into the crater, picking the wounded Chapuchai up and returning him to the Lookout.

"Alright, if East Kai's done embarrassing herself," South Kai begins. "Torbie, you're up!"

The bug-like man steps forward, nodding toward his mentor before taking to the air.

"I'll do it," you announce, walking to the edge of the Lookout and stepping off the edge.

You float into the air, hovering across from Torbie, who looks back at you with a curious and serious expression. He's trying to size you up, figure out what to make of you. You don't think that this is a guy who's going to rush in blindly and overconfident like Chapuchai.

"Torbie, you've got this!" South Kai calls to his fighter.

The bug-man nods toward his teacher, though he doesn't seem quite as sure as the Kai. You wonder if he senses that your power is greater than his, or if he's just allowing for the chance of defeat. In either case, that may make him more dangerous, as he won't underestimate you.

Telling yourself not to get cocky, either, you begin to gather up your energy, and ready yourself for battle.

we keep talkong about a dojo. but with the training schedule were going to be on that wont happen for years.

but lazuli got me thinking. there are tons of people out there who could be great martial artists. theres ni reason to limit it to our friends and family.

the answer? instructional videos. Tofoo can do it, and so can you!

learning basic ki manipulation and flight is AMAZINGLY simple. make a section at the front of each video about safe practice.

even if a few criminals learn basic techniques the same will be available to the police.

besides, humanity deserves a chance to defend itself.
>>
>>1427431
We can just write a book about it like Gohan did.
That's how 90% of the population ends up being martial artists in all of the post-GT material.
We'd probably end up getting Bulma to actually write it while we explain the mechanics of Ki manipulation to her, but something like that could work.
>>
>>1427446

>>
>>1427481
I mean if she's around, sure. Even if we do end up doing that, we should probably still do the dojo as well, just so we can actually get some experience teaching people about Ki.
That's all still like 3-5 years away though. We still gotta focus on our current battle and our training before anything.

It's one of the better filler arcs and I would love to get a chance to apologize to Olibu, we were kind of a bitch to him. Plus, except for like one or two movies and maybe OC stuff, we have have like seven years of free time in between arcs.

Would it be possible to go back to the future with trunks and help him finish the androids in his timeline? Mostly just to see older Bulma and help them find New Namek since we would probably be able to get in touch with both popo and king kai much more easily than trunks could on his own, we got connections.

Oi mate

Why can't we wish for all our jobbing humans to be half saiyan?
>>
>>1428031
Cause that's dumb and no one in game wants to do it.

Is Mr. Satan not as famous as he is in canon because of it? Because we need his fame for Buu
>>
>>1428234
You don't understand, we're the famous one now.
We just need to make regular appearances at the WMAT and we're golden.
>>
>>1427981
That may be possible

>>1428031
Race traitor

>>1428234
You're more famous

So giving Future Trunks a spaceship and a note for Future Bulma when he comes back is still on the table, right?
>>
>>1428332
I say a sappy message with that bunny suit joke maybe an invitation to come and visit when androids aren't oppressing the earth
>>
>>1428354
I'm sure once Future Trunks takes care of his timeline's Androids and Imperfect Cell, they'll have a few days to come and visit. It'd probably be a welcome relief from the post-apocalypse.

>an invitation to come and visit

>>
