/qst/ - Quests

Hi. QuestingQM here. In case you can’t remember the last Werewolf Reich, it became edgefaggotry, degeneracy, and generally fucking around. Also, I’m taking a break from EDQ while I get some more inspiration. Hopefully, this time it'll be different.

Updates may be slow, sorry

For those wondering what Werewolf Reich is, it’s not furry shit even though a few anons last time tried to make it that. What it is, is the creation of a drunk Scottishman with too much time on his hands, and having the unfortunate opinion of thinking nazi werewolves are fucking awesome. Now, of course this quest has a tendency to be /pol/ at times, so you have been warned. This quest can really range from one man trying to re-adjust into society to one man pulling a Hitler and taking power.

Changes

Firstly, out-of-character actions consume Sanity. This is to discourage sudden changes in character personality, and if sanity goes too low or the action is too out-of-field, the character may flat out refuse to do something. Stojan will start off with 3 Sanity. Sanity loss can be reduced by acting as a “inner voice” to Stojan… For example, if Stojan early on finds himself being shot at by Americans, he might suffer Sanity loss. Anons can try to reduce this by acting as his “werewolf voice” so to speak. The higher quality these arguments are given to Stojan, the less sanity lost.

Actions which will do sanity loss requires +3 anons to vote on it.
If sanity itself is reduced to below 0, Stojan will start to take a penalty on rolls.

Secondly, character romantic interests are going to be heavily scrutinized, and are likely to be outlawed outright.

In addition, judging from the character choices anons made last time we did this…

Stojan is a very religious catholic.
Stojan is considered to have right wing beliefs, and a strong hatred of communism.
Stojan is somewhat of a “family man”.
Stojan has severe anger problems.
Stojan has a kind personality at times… Though that’s when he’s not intoxicated.

Now of course, I think anons should have more of a choice in what happens in the beginning…

So… Anons. Choose some game rules.

Timelines/Tech

>The Axis Triumph (Very Ahistorical), The Axis in fact, won the Second World War… And have begun to fight among themselves. Very hard. Very extended start date.
>Prolonged War. Everyone’s tech is above average, and the start date is extended out...
>Normal. No ahistorcial tech levels!
>Supreme Nazi Tech. Nazi technology will be more powerful than before. Can be used with any other “timeline”.

Year

>1939 (Beginning of the War!)
>1940
>1941
>1942
>1943
>1944
>1945 (End of the War!)

>1947
>1948 (End of the War!)

Extended Timeline (Axis Triumphant)

>1950
>1955
>1960

Now, we'll jump into character generation... You'll remain a male, and called Stojan, but we'll also decide if anons want to remain Polish and if they want to change their background.

So, we have Czechoslovakia, Russia, and Lithuania.

Czechoslovakian Stojan's background will align either towards the Allies, Axis, Neutral, or Comintern.

Russian Stojan's background will align towards Axis or Comintern, and uniquely can have an ideology of being an old monarchist supporter.

Lithuania Stojan background can lean towards Comintern or Axis.

White Army it is.

You are agnostic, leaning towards Orthodox.

You served in the White Army... Your family were impoverished, estateless nobles in northern Russia, in Veliky Novgorod. You of course, volunteered with the White Army at the start of the civil war... Though you quickly found that your ideas were a bit... Well... Different. You were a monarchist... But you had to admit, you liked the ring of socialism and communism... Then again, your parents always said you were a bit of a free thinker.

You served as in the White Army as a...

>You were a guerrilla. You couldn't volunteer in time to serve on the frontline against the Communists... (Bonuses to Stealth, Bolt-Action Rifles, and Pistols.)
>You served as part of a tank's crew! (Knowledge on how to pilot tanks. Bonus to Pistols.)

>Frontline Infantry. You signed up to get right to the front lines against the Bolsheviks! (Knowledge on either Machine Guns, Bolt Action Rifles, Sniper Rifles, Shotguns, Submachine Guns, or Anti-Tank weaponry. You also get knowledge in Pistols and Grenades.)
>Hidden Dissident. You weren't brave enough to strike out and join the White Army... But with your wits, you managed to stay hidden and even convince some hearts and minds while you tried to get educated... (Bonus to Diplomacy and Stealth. along with having Moderate Education.)
>Write-In for other position ideas.

Also anons might want to try and define a "communist monarchist" for me, or at least Stojan's idea of one.

Guerrilla or Hidden Dissident. Seem the most useful.

As to our idea: communism requires a central government to protect the worker from the aggression of other nations, to guide the efforts of the people, to act as a impartial judge in legal matters and so on.

Although a meritocracy would be efficient, it would be corruptible. Where as in a Monarchy, such things are expected and are controlled by use of power limitations on the monarch such as a constitution. Not to mention that people can more easily rally behind a royal family than a faceless mass of bureaucrats.
>>
>>1420640
Use a constitutional monarchy, a monarch to rally behind but it's skill instead of birth that gets you in power

No clue what that looks like. Maybe he's just starting to doubt his support of monarchy.
>>
Actually we should just do a North Korea
>>
>>1420646
That could work.

We could take inspiration from history: the polish made use of a elective monarchy to great effectiveness.

The powers were split between the figure head, the king, and their advisory. The problem came about that the king slowly lost all his powers to the advisory but if we make some minor changes such things can be avoided.
>>
>>1420653
but North Korea is a failed state

>>1420653

Not at all true. I would argue that many of them would not fail, were it not for their rulers abusing their powers and spending excessive amounts of money either on themselves or the military.

Also, Cuba has done pretty well for itself considering all that happened to it...

You were a guerrila serving with the White Army... At least, until you were caught and... Well, imprisoned.

You were lucky though. Well... In a sense. You weren't going to be re-educated, or sent to a gulag... You were simply going to be conscripted into a Shtrafbat battalion... A penal battalion.

Which meant cannon fodder for the upcoming invasion of Poland.

Of course, you were deployed to assault the front... Alongside nearly one-hundred and fifty others. You weren't too optimistic about your chances, to be fair...

Of course, once you were "freed from captivity" you were deployed to a barracks not too far from the Polish border... You were trained a bit... Though you suspected you were a bit better then most of the criminals here.

You however, were singled out due to...

>You were spreading "divergent" ideas... And nearly inspired a riot among the penal battalion. (+2 to Persuasion.)
>You refused to follow orders from the Soviets! (+1 Sanity)
>You got in a fight with another soldier... And beat him hard enough he was sent to the infirmary. (+1 to Strength)
>You were caught hunting in the woods with a rifle... A few officers called it "desertion" or "treason"... Your commanding officer however, thought the vension you gave him was rather tasty and spared you. (+1 to Sharpshooting.)

>...You were caught trying to desert with makeshift tools you made... (+1 to Fieldcraft skill)
>...You had a particular habit of getting "injured" so you would get out of the drills. (-1 Strength, but +1 to Intelligence.)
>...You were caught playing cards on guard duty. It wasn't a fun punishment... But you did win the card game. (+1 to Luck)
>...You might of accidentally set the armory on fire on a smoke break. Somewhat. (+1 to Saboteur)

You were caught securing contraband...

It wasn't too long after you were caught that your battalion was ordered to assault the Polish border...

Before you were sent off, you were sent to the armory... As a penal soldier you had the last pick of equipment... Not to mention some strange men in labcoats giving everyone vaccinations for the trip against diseases, or something.

Like you'd last long enough to actually make use of it.

What weaponry did you take with you?

Choose three anons.

Can we attach the knife to the top of the flag and create a makeshift lance / spear?
>>
>>1420953
You'd need an adhesive, but that's good thinking. Also, this is what you can grab in the scramble for equipment.

If anons don't decide, I'll default with a Mosin Nagant, Nagant Revolver, and Flag.

I could live with those three things.

Also, couldn't we sharpen the top of the flag pole and just forget attaching a knife?

We are going to be a werewolf with a flag spear.
>>
>>1420963
I'd say so.

You grab yourself a flag, a Mosin Nagant, and a revolver, and book it to the truck and get in...

Not too long after, everyone else piles in... Quickly the trucks begin to drive to the front on the bumpy country roadside...

You easily notice everyone's afraid... You can't help but be afraid too. You just want to go back to your village... Not be used as live cannon fodder...

Though you take out a small pocket knife, and come up with a bit of an idea... Chiseling the flag a bit.

After suffering a bit of splinters, you chisel the flag to a sharp wooden pole, and feel a bit of pride in your handiwork... Maybe things will be alright after all?

Of course, everyone else is... Well, they're pretty terrified, scared, and some are eyeing nervously the forest... No one is in high spirits here.

Actions

>...Make some small talk to pass the time?
>...Just... Drift into thinking. Thinking about home, your village... Anything but this!

Anons, you should probably write out how to improve your weapons.
>>
>>1420981
Start singing a song, one they would all know. It'll help distract them from how they are feeling while we are working on our weapons.
>>
>>1420992
Sharpen the bayonet and check the sighting in case it is out of alignment with the barrel.

Then try working the bolt a few times to get a feel for it's weight and checking it will actually feed.

Follow this up with, if we have the equipment, a general field strip and maintenance of the rifles internals.
>>
>>1420992
Whats in the truck mate? Standard equipment and all of that? Any scrap or what not. You know the jist.
>>
>>1421003
If not anything else than this. Mabye put some barbed wire at the end of the flag. Organize all of the tools. That stuff.
>>
>>1421007
Oooooooh we could actually add hardwood sticks in our molotovs, that way when we throw them they have more leverage and thusly can go farther.
>>
>>1421004
It's a transport truck. All that's in there is other russians, the bottom of the truck made out of floorboard....

You also lack any barbed wire right now.

You sing a song while sharpening the bayonet and checking the sighting a bit. It seems to relax everyone else, and a few others copy what your doing...

After sharpening your bayonet, you realize your almost there... You also make it a note to possibly grab hardwood if you can.

However, as soon as you decide to do that, the truck comes to a stop, and you hear shouting... And everyone is ordered to come out and report to the front...

You get out last, and note that the political officer seems to approve of your "patriotism" with the flag, and looks at you with a slight nod.

Great, some last minute respect before you get shot in the face by a sniper.

Of course, you look out to the battlefield... It's mostly forests, with plenty of cover. It seems like your just dealing with some skirmishers, and thank God you aren't charging trenches... Yet.
From what you hear, there's some more defenses further inland, and right now your just dealing with snipers, guerrilas, and a few cavalry regiments...

Of course, you get ordered to the combat zone under the command of Sergeant Tokosvikich. From what you hear, he got put into the penal battalion for being inebriated and having a lack of "patriotism".

Now of course, everyone's in a state of confusion, trying to find their new officer to lead them on the field of battle...

Actions

>...Try to slip away to the armory. Maybe you can get more equipment? (Stealth)
>Find the sergeant and report. Maybe you'll get lucky?
>Try to slip into one of the "normal" battalions... (Stealth)
>...Forest woodlands... Maybe you can try to make a camouflage for yourself? (Fieldcraft)

>>
You show up and report to the sergeant...

Luckily, he seems sober, and you've been ordered to take care of a cavalry battalion not too far from here, that's been harrassing the armor...

What's your position anons?

It doesn't take you too long to get ambushed really.

Mostly because the rest of the soldiers are being loud, making large targets of themselves...

And aren't exactly prepared in the slightest.

Of course, you hear a rifle shot go over your head, and you instantly hit the dirt... The rest of your squad of twenty men turn towards the sound, and horses lunge out of the forest, charging the squad...

Your currently laying in dirt, hoping you don't get shot or stabbed or worse...

Your battalion has suffered 6 casulties out of 20.

There are twelve enemy horsemen!

What do?

You manage to stabilize his wound and drag him to the medic... The medic himself, begins to check you out.

It's not long until he patches up your wound, and you of course try to help him with the wounded...

You have learned basic first aid, granting you a +1 on Medical rolls!

Of course, you hear the Sergeant talking on the radio... Apparently a second squad found the remnants of the cavalry squad, and took them out, meaning your job should be done, right?

"Alright, how many casualties?" The sergeant says... You neglect to answer, and the medic responds with three dead, two wounded. The sergeant of course, radios this back into base...

"...Alright comrades, now for the next phase... We're to be assaulting an armory north of our position... Either capturing it or destroying it. A few other penal battalions will be coming along to assist... This is in a small town on the border, meaning there's civilians, got it?"

One blood-covered private raises his hand...

"...Sir, is there any qualms about looting?"

"Looting? So long as I don't hear about it, and you aren't taking anything important, da? And make sure to split it with me after."

The rookie seems excited, and you of course, can't help but think about what an armory could hold... Such as a better gun.

Sorry about the wait, just got home.

You decide to breach the church...

Here is a visual representation.

You don't know if the front doors are locked or not.
The front windows are boarded up.

There are windows on the side, but you cannot see due to stained glass.

You have 2 Breachers, and a Spotter to scout for you.

What do?

You erh... Well, you don't know how to speak Polish. Maybe Russian will do?

"It is a sin to spill blood on holy ground! If any whom rest here hold such an intent, let God judge them! We are coming in! Do not resist!"

You don't hear anything in return, though the other members of the penal battalion seem quite skittish, and make sure to get a bit below you just in case...

Ignore my roll.
>>
You can't hear anything coming from inside... The thick stone walls make it hard to hear... You also notice your squadmates are giving you a bit of a dirty look for your "religious" spew. Technically, your not allowed to do that.

You begin to head inside the main entrance, opening the doors carefully... It seems like no one is inside. Everyone takes up positions to breach into the next room...

You first notice there's plenty of wounded civilians from the bombing... It's not a very pretty sight. The second thing you notice is the two Polish soldiers aiming a shotgun and a rifle at the door... They seem to be holding their fire though and are covered by the pews... Luckily, you notice this before you fully peak your head out thanks to a ill-placed civilian belonging... A mirror.

You try to tell them to put down their weapons... It's a little rough, but after a minute, you hear them throw their weapons to the floor.

You and your men go in to secure their weapons, and the Polish soldiers actually... Well, they thank you. One simply shakes your hand, and the younger one even gives you a bit of an emotional hug... It seems like the younger one is simply milita, and apparently those bandages might of saved his mother's life.

Either way, they seem to be very gracious for your (although limited) medical assistance...

With the church successfully breached and peacefully taken over, you leave it. Your fellow soldiers seem to greatly appreciate not having to get shot at too...

So, currently our other squaddies might be in trouble. Take care of the homes, then get everyone to loot the non-essentials and non-medical supplies.
The less teammates we have dying, the more backup we can have when needed and the more hands on deck to loot.
I'm not sure which place we should go for, but I'd think the homes would have more people willing to surrender.

I'd think we should get a translator or volunteer to come with us to get the rest to surrender before more bloodshed occurs, help with identifying any foreign pickings, and give us more info about the area.

Good Success

You find is a pack of "dirty" playing cards... You know, the type with sexualized women on it, collector's edition stuff. It'd be worth something maybe, if you find the right person.

You also find a very, very expensive bottle of french wine... You're somewhat tempted to drink it, but it could be worth a fortune to the right man...

You also find what seems to be an entire carton of cigars too, buried in some rubble... And not the shitty kind... What turns out to be even better... They're cuban cigars.

You think all in all, this could be worth a fortune... At least, in the army.

Otherwise, that's all you really find... That's when that damned pain starts to ache up again...

Choose a bodypart to "mutate" to become more werewolf like.

You feel a bit of a pain in your chest... It's agonizing to feel, to the point you fall down for a second. Luckily, no one is exactly around to see it...

You can't help but peak, and you take off your shirt for a moment...
Strangely enough... It's well... Actually still pleasantly warm...

And you seem to have... Well, enough body hair that shaving would take a hour or two... Or more.
In fact, it's like you have small coat of fur on your chest or something... It does make you feel warm though, and you sort of notice that your chest is a bit... Toned?
Huh.
You know, if you got rid of the hair, you could show off that six-pack you always wanted to your sweetheart back home...
Well... Childhood sweetheart. Daria. She was nice... Though a bit religious and of course became a nun...

You sigh a bit... You know, you should probably be a bit concerned why your body hair is getting a bit out of control on your chest, to be honest.

Actions

It's just body hair... You should probably shave as soon as you get back to the barracks though.

After stuffing your body hair down and putting your shirt back on... Hopefully nothing else weird happens.

You of course, go back to the other soldiers...

"So... Just curious... How have you guys been since the vaccinations?"

"I mean, good. Nice to know I'm not going to get rabies if some dog bites me, you know?"

"...Wait, it's a vaccine for rabies?" You say...

"Yeah... Erh, weren't you paying attention?"

"...I was thinking about home... Well, uh. Thanks."

"Yeah... You feeling alright?"

"...Yeah. You?"

"Fine. Just wondering, comrade."

You hear a few gunshots coming from the Armory... Seems like the assault's started.

Your men seem to have made a campfire to warm up around, and seem to be drinking... And of course, telling stories and introducing themselves. It seems like they're confident you aren't going to send them to another battle... The polish prisoners... If they can be called that, are also drinking alongside your men.

How're the house breachers doing? Since we have some prisoners, we could use them as translators or vouchers to get the rest to surrender without bloodshed. It's too late for the armory assaulters, but the houses might take a while.

Yeah, first one got derailed after a few threads and never recovered.

You decide to have the prisoners tied up... They seem to protest at first, but you remind your men to not forcibly do it.

You also decide to check in on the house breachers... It seems like it's almost over, and seems to be mostly civilians.

The last house is about to be breached, but your men clearly don't want to be part of it judging from their faces as you go over to the remaining houses...

Actions

Critical Success!

You somehow manage to get them to realize they should get the people inside to surrender...

It doesn't take too long for them to convince everyone inside to come out... It seems to simply be a small amount of militia and a small family.

The fellow soviet troops seem very grateful for not having to breach this...

Ignore my roll.
>>
>>1422560
Aye caramba
>>
Wow.

Anons were very, very close to seeing a Critical Success Failure.

At this point, you walk back to your men... And notice a political officer somewhat impressed by you...

You can't tell if that's a good or bad sign.

You of course, having done your duty, decide to pass the time by drinking and talking...

You quickly learn that most of the men you've been serving with are kulaks... Apparently imprisoned simply because of the land they own.

Interesting.

After a bit, your commanding officer comes back down from the armory and organizes a roll call...

Apparently, most of the Soviet and German forces have taken over most of the country, and are encircling Warsaw...

Hm.

Of course, your battalion is ordered to set up camp five miles north of this town for the reinforcements from Belarus, and everyone, even you lets out a groan at this...
You're going to be pitching tents practically all night, damn it.

Of course, this doesn't exactly have to be a miserable experience... Those kulaks you served with made for fine company, even if you didn't get enough time to learn their names...

...Alternatively, if you wanted to suck up to the Sergeant, you could pitch his tent up first...

You do have plenty of time to think about it as everyone marches... For five miles too... Damn.

Actions

I would say we should see about a mutiny but if we did we wouldn't have very many places to go unless we went full warlord, but that would mean fighting the red army and the Germans.

That's just being annoying. If we're going to really put a dick up Pappa Stalin's ass we need to do shit that leads to him having to deal with a rival army. That includes getting a hold of patrician benefactors and gaining soldiers. Things we can easily do if we first, get out of here, and second, get a hold of a lot of explosives. 2nd. It doesn't state improvements to the spine and ribcage, so I'm supposing that's clumped with the back. Having that will help protect our vital organs.

Do it.
>>
Your back just..

Oh god...

It feels tougher... Stronger... Something like that.
This is erh... Hair products don't effect spines, right?

After the severe pain resides, and your no longer in a fetal position, you get up to... Well, you notice your... Stronger?

Your spine feels quite tough and durable... And you front as well. Hell, your entire body feels a bit more durable...

And... You can't help but notice the slight amount of muscle your shoulders got too.

Man... This is erh... Well, it's interesting...

Oh. Also, of course you got more body hair... Though erh... Strangely enough it's... Its kind of weird. All across your back you have slight body hair, but your spine has body hair going all the way up to your neck...

Also, holy shit you smell fucking terrible from all the sweating you've been doing during the march...

You begin to walk back, and you also can't help but notice your a bit taller... This is erh... This is weird.

Stojan has become more tougher, stronger, and a bit taller.

Actions

These aren't your normal hair care products. These are... advanced hair care products.
>>
>>1422751
>Try to rationally explain this to yourself? How can hair products do this? What are you becoming? (Gain 0.5 sanity)
This isn't some kind of hair product. Those fucking Soviet bastards did something to us. One of the others must be going under something similar already, we just have to figure out who and what.
>>
>>1422751
>Try to rationally explain this to yourself? How can hair products do this? What are you becoming? (Gain 0.5 sanity)
The hair product's key ingredient was concentrated testosterone. So concentrated that it's making you stronger as well. You're no scientist, but that sounds like a logical explanation.
>>
QM, please tell me I'm misreading that mutations list and it doesn't have upgrades for mouth teeth and head all separately.

So we're effectively taking steroids?

>>
>>1422774
What? Oh god, I think I got so tired I mixed up head, mouth, and teeth.
Just consolidating that all to head. Also, I'm probably going to pass out soon.

You think that this is somesort of experimental hair care advanced products or something, and quickly rejoin formation...
Though you are suspecting the soviet bastards have done something to you... And you resolve to try and find out what's going on.

You continue your small talk with the private, and he proves to be quite smart.. Though somewhat absent-minded and a bit awkward.

He seems to somewhat like you.

Eventually, you get to setting up camp... That better spine really does help in this boring as fuck work, and honestly, you just want to collapse and get some sleep already.

Of course, when your squad tent is set up and you go inside...

You remarkably see the same squad you had on the breach and clear of the church.

Great.

There's two double bunks, and of course, you get the top bunk, next to Private Abarnikov.

After that, comes the standard procedure of cleaning up, shaving, using the latrines, and generally trying your best to not appear filthy.

Of course... Do you really want to take all the shaving cream and time to shave off this... Well, body hair?
Not to mention you might need someone to get your back... Goddamn it.

We are on campaign. There won't be any ladies until we manage to get loose. We can shave once we are free and have the time. Otherwise, it's actually helping with the cold.
>>
>>1422785

So anons want to not shave?

Don't shave it all off, but at least trim the thicker parts.

>>1422778
As far as Stojan knows, yeah.
>>
>>1422780

Well I'm off about now. I'd suggest you do the same before you blackout shortly before going on a QM power trip.

You decide to shave just enough to get comfortable and not sweat to death... It's pretty hard to do, especially since you have to use scissors, and a heavy amount of shaving cream... You also make sure to wash yourself afterwards so you don't smell like a walking bundle of sweat and body odor.

You'll get a small bonus to cold resistance for the next day anon, and you won't suffer as severe heat effects.

Of course, you clean up and brush your teeth, and head to bed after a long day of work...
Then of course, you turn out the lamp...
And get out your journal to write everything down for your memoirs...

Bonus Time.

If anons can come up with a summary of the day for Stojan's memoir, Stojan's XP to the next upgrade will increase. Also, it'll increase his sanity by 1 for the next day.

Sanity has been reset to 3.

Summary of the day 1

Received orders to assault Polish border. Picked up weapons, got injected with 'vaccines' by dodgy men in labcoats.

Boarded truck. Spent time singing and sharpening flag into a makeshift spear. Reached destination. Ordered to eliminate Cavalry battalion by Sgt Tokosvikich. Combat zone is primarily forests. Plenty of cover.

Ambushed soon after. 12 enemy combatants to our 20. 6 of us fall in the initial attack. Attempted to use flag to dismount enemy. Was not succesful. Drew revolver, exchanged fire, both of us missed. Readied rifle, but took a bullet to the chest. Nothing vital was hit, returned fire and downed enemy cavalryman.

Rest of our forces managed to repulse the enemy. Out of initial 12, 6 managed to flee. Ignored chest wound and stabilised personally shot Polish soldier before bringing him to the medic.

Medic looks both of us over. Once patched up, helped the medic with other wounded. Learnt a bit about first aid.

Radio informed that another squad had dealt with the six other cavalrymen. Sergeant radioed hq back with our status. Three dead, two wounded.

Received orders for next phase. An Assault on an Armory to the north of our (then) position. To be Captured or Destroyed. Presence of civilians presumed. Our wounded were to be sent back for a 'medical evaluation'.

Noticed pain in chest. Took a break to evaluate condition. Wound had shrunk. Chest hair grew thicker. Decided to ask a medic later. Over time pain subsided.

Arrived at the town surrounding the Armory. Town in ruins from air support. Forces are to breach and clear buildings and to assault the Armory. Joined Breaching and clearing squad.

First target for breaching: The Church. Successfully breached the church with no bloodshed by convincing the two Polish soldiers within to lay down arms by a peace offering of bandages for the wounded civilians within.

Once Church was secured, decided to loot surrounding bombed out ruins.

Found: 1 Pack of 'Dirty' playing cards, 1 bottle of French wine, 1 carton of Cuban cigars.

After looting, hit with more pain in chest. Removed shirt to inspect. Chest hair had grown tremendously. Muscular definition increase also observed.

Returned to fellow soldiers. None had observed similiar reactions as you. 'Vaccinations' were to be for Rabies. Polish prisoners drinking freely amongst them. Have them tied up for appearance' sake.

Checked in on other house breaching squads. Only 1 house left. Convinced Polish prisoners to get the inhabitants to surrender. House breached with no bloodshed.

Returned to men. Got sloshed. Learned that most of them are Kulaks. CO organizes roll call. Learnt that Warsaw has been encircled by Soviet and German troops.

(Continued)
>>
>>1422879
Received new orders. Set up camp five miles north of the town to house us and reinforcements from Belarus. Spent march talking to Pvt Abarnikov. A Kulak. He agreed to lend some shaving cream once camp has been set up. Mid talk, pain set in again.

Slipped off from main body of troops. Pain was agonising. Found that body has changed again. More muscles around shoulder, perceived increase in strength and durability, height has increased slightly.

Suspect that the Soviets have done something to me. Will have to find out more. Fall back in with the rest. Return to conversation with Pvt Abarnikov.

Reached site and set up camp. Increase in strength confirmed. Shared tent with same squad from the church. Bunk beds, top bunk next to Abarnikov. Shave enough to get comfortable.

The day ends. Maybe I should start praying.
>>
I probably should've asked this earlier, but is there a discord chat for this or something?
>>
Nice.

Also, in case your wondering, these memoirs help me summarize days, meaning I don't need to backtrack as much later.

You finish writing your daily memoirs, and decide to get some sleep... Not before scratching your chest first though.

You dream softly, and wake up for roll call.

After roll call is carried out, you go to get some breakfast, thank God.

Breakfast wasn't really anything major, but your sergeant goes up to you... Followed by a handful of more elite soldiers.

"Private Stojan, correct?" He seems largely displeased.

"Erh... Yes?"

"You have your ass in the fire right now, damn it. The NVKD have requested to see you, and by extension, me."

Your fairly sure he's not happy with you at all.

What do anons?

>Ignore the NVKD summons. (Bad idea)
> Accept the NVKD summons.
> Write in
>>
>>1422918

> Accept the NVKD summons.

I forget my commie history, but the NKVD's the proto-KGB right? Made by the guy Stalin was afraid of because he was in a room with his daughter once?
>>
You decide to accept the NVKD summons... And you get a sack put over your head ..

After what seems like eons, they take off the sack to reveal you in what seems to be a house... With a rather older political officer reading something.

"...You are Private Stojan, correct?"

"...Yes? What's this all about?"

"...I am comrade Sakharov, and there are some questions you are needed to answer."

"...Questions about what?"

"...Various topics comrade... Mostly partaining to your "heroism" on the field of battle..." He looks at you suspiciously...

Roll me a 1d20 once to determine the results of this interrogation with the NVKD.
+1 if you can try to tell him why you spared the Polish and used medical supplies to save plenty of Polish lives?
>>
Rolled 14 + 1 (1d20 + 1)

>>1422925

>>
14+1=15

You think they are pleased by your story, since they aren't executing you or putting you on a trial for treason.

In fact...

"...Well, Private Stojan... Your extreme competency in the field of battle, and shining example is to be commended..."

You have been promoted to Corporal!

You have in addition, been given a medal... The Order Of Bogdan Khmelnitsky, third class, for extreme resourcefulness in the field of battle and for your negotiator skills.

You get another sack over your head, and get sent back to camp.

After the sack gets removed from your head again, you find yourself in your army barracks, with the medal next to you and the insigna indicating of your new corporal position...

Hm...

Actions

>...Wear the medal and rank of a corporal proudly.

You decide to celebrate, and wear the medal...

A few hours go by, and that's when your sergeant calls you and your squad down...

It seems you've gotten the duty of managing a civilian checkpoint right on the road near a village.

Seems like your job is getting more and more interesting.

"So... We're acting as guards for a checkpoint?"

"...Along with checking passports, IDs, that sort of thing."

"...That's... I don't think they covered that in basic training."

"The invasion is practically almost over already. There's only a few hold-outs left, and now we're in charge of acting as an occupying force, got it?"

"Got it."

"Good."

You hop back into the truck, and it begins to drive to the village... Which is of course, an hour away.

"...So, Corporal Stojan?" Private Abarnikov says...

"Hm?"

"...I heard you got pulled for a questioning by the NVKD. Did something happen?"

You can tell your squad feels a bit nervous around you for some reason... Then again, not too many people come back from a NVKD meeting with a promotion and a medal...

You notice your legs have...

Well... They're beginning to grow out, and body hair extends down to them...

You seem to be a bit more taller, and can run for a longer distance and jump slightly higher.

The farmer comes in, and notices you... He seems to be holding a lantern, and has a shotgun in his other hand.

"What the hell are you doing in my barn?!"

He says this with a clear amount of aggression, and has leveled his shotgun once he's caught the clear sight of your uniform...
It's clear he's not a fan of communism.

That's when he catches a glare of your slowly growing legs..

You decide to hike...

You look back at the house before you leave...

The hike to Warsaw is about 4 days.

Maybe you should take something to help you?

You decide to take a knife, and you head out.

The first day goes by steadily enough, no one really stops to help you, and you find yourself in a small town around nightfall...

Your stomach of course, growls hungrily, and desires meat... You however, find yourself flat broke, and armed only with a knife.

It has also begun to rain.

THIS ISNT A CHURCH! ITS A SYNAGOGUE!
>>
Well now.

You fail to find anything that's giving out free food... The only religious center in this town is a small humble church, with the doors barred and it clear seems shut down. A few nazis seem to be patrolling around it, and there's some light coming from it...

It seems like there's a curfew out on the streets too, as all civilians are in their homes... And there's nazis patrolling.

Shit.

Actions

>...Try to sneak into the church? It'd make some good shelter and there might be a priest inside...

You decide to knock on the side door...

After a minute, a priest opens it up. It seems this is a Catholic church and says something in Polish.

Great. Language barriers. Again

>>
You point at your mouth, and rub your stomach... You also rub your shoulders and point to the roof.

He seems to understand, and lets you inside the church. It's more warm in here, but that's really it.

He goes into the back while you sit on a pew, and after a minute comes out with a rather nutritional meal of bread and pasta... It's a cheap staple, and you'd think meat would be a better choice.

However, the indoor candlelight does give you a better look towards him. He seems to be rather old, easily in his 70's, and has some slight difficulty walking.

Actions

>...See if you can get the point across for meat?

Filled with inspiration, you decide to make your own shelter. Made of trash.

...Mostly because it seems like fun.

You head outside to construct your masterpiece...

There's not a lot of material... It seems the nazis have already proved very effective in cleaning up trash...

There's a random cardboard box you can use though. That could work...

Roll me a 1d20 three times to see how well you can make your shelter out of random trash materials.
This will increase your Fieldcraft score due to it's creativeness.

Arms and Lungs it is.

You get hit by a rack of pain as you sleep... And... Well... You have... You have a nightmare. To the point where you wake up in your sleep, and you feel like there's blood coming out of your mouth...

You check. There isn't.

So you didn't rip a cow's neck out... It was... It was a really weird dream. You breath a bit heavily from the shock of the nightmare... Remarkably... It feels much easier to breath. Huh.

You also feel a bit itchy, and you scratch your goatee...

Only to really find out on closer examination, your arm is... It has thick body hair like your chest... Like it's growing fur... Not to mention your finger nails...
They're beginning to look like claws... And you notice that your scratching actually cut your goatee a bit... They're sharp, remarkably... Enough to cut through skin.

Not to mention your arm muscles got a bit more impressive... Though it's starting to get hard to notice with the body-hair...

You might as well start calling it fur at this point... Your entire body is beginning to be covered in it. It's almost impossible to ignore.

Your arm has also gotten longer, and your hand has gotten bigger... Along with your fingers again. They're starting to look like mini sausages. Hairy ones.

Actions

After getting rest, you look out of your cardboard box to a small patrol of nazis, smoking cigarettes and seem a bit entertained by your shelter.

If we're using our claws, only use one of our fingers since that's the closest to resembling a knife, and try filling off one of the edges first so it's a single-edged shave.
I don't know if we have anything it file it off with, but we can just use the cardboard to do so.

On the bright side, learning how to shave with our claws is infinitely less dangerous than learning how to stab someone with them.

You decide to just get a move on to Warsaw, and eat something on the way...

At around noon, you notice a bus traveling on the road... Full of nuns?

The bus slows down near you, and one of the windows opens...

What seems to be one of the nuns... A bit different from the rest, and clearly much older, says something towards you in Polish.

She seems to understand German...

"We are inviting you onto the bus, dear."

"...Why?"

"Well, it is in the good faith of our Lord Jesus that we help those who cannot help themselves from the clutches of the Soviets."

"Soviets?"

"Our nunnery is fleeing from the communists approach to Warsaw... If you so desired, you could ride with us."

Is there something you want to say/do anon? Besides shows why I wanted to be born earlier so I can perform police brutality on hippies?
>>
>>1424327
Well, his name is "chaos" after all.

Also, quick update.

You accept their offer, and get on the bus... You of course, take the nearest seat and wind up next to a young nun...

Do anons want to doanything during the ride, or timeskip?
>>
>>1424328
I want to not try and bang every nun on the bus, get to Warsaw, recruit a bunch of white army people, take out the commissioner, get our squad and as much of the rest of the penal battalion onto our side, and then start taking over the damn war to reclaim Russia from these dirty commies and their useful idiot hippies.

(Also what I wouldn't give to beat the shit out those larping antifaggots. I'm literally a drive away but the traffic would be too much and I can't afford to repair my car if it gets damaged.
>>
>>1424331
Try not to turn even more lycan and horrify the nuns. Also ask if they have any meat to eat. We will even take dried beef.
>>
>>1424336

Why not both?

But I have to say

I'm just going to roll...

1=Stay on and ask for food?
2=Get off the bus...
>>
You decide to stay on, and you ask the nun next to you if they have any meat...

She says no, sadly enough. Your stomach growls a bit at the thought of meat at this point.

The nun next to you seems a bit concerned, and hands you some zloty she was holding onto since she became a nun...

It's only a measly seventy zloty.

You accept her charity.

It takes about eight hours before you finally arrive at Warsaw, and you get off the bus along with the rest of the nuns... At this point, you have a strong craving for anything related to meat...

You also have 70 zloty.

You of course, spend a mere ten dollars... And feel a bit sated.

Do we have any identifying scars, birthmarks or anything? We could try and get a photo of those attached...so that we can at least shave off the skin there and show them that.

You decide to submit, and get a photograph and fingerprints...

After that's done, the officer hands you the papers and handbook, and stores the rest of the information in a desk...

You begin to leave, and to try and find the remnants of the White Army...

yes, first of all we want to not stand out and get purged second of all we are mutating so our faec will probably look different soon, so getting a photo is no skin off our nose
>>
>>1424633
>so getting a photo is no skin off our nose
>>1424612

That's what my problem was earlier, the photo won't work if we look different for identification.
However, since we're going to the White Army anyways, on second thought this sounds like a useful way to cover our tracks.
>>
>>1424644
I'll be honest I doubt the White army thing is going to work out.

Seeing as they, historically, lost too many of their number to ever be a threat to the USSR without another force helping them. Such as, say, the 3rd Reich? However, we aren't exactly about to ally up with Hitler are we?

I still say that we should go and find our battalion and get back to becoming a war hero of the USSR. Also, because they would have answers as to what is happening to us.
>>
>>1424629
let's head to to a bar

The fight club itself seems rather moderate-sized, and it seems like there's even a small bar and a small office in the corner, which you go to...

He enters the ring, and cracks his knuckles. He's easily at least half a foot taller than you, and more muscular.

He of course, takes off his shirt and throws it to the gathering crowd now cheering the fight on...

How Melee Works

There's only three actions really in melee... Dodge, Attack, and Special Attack. Dodge counters Special Attack, Attack counters Dodge, and Special Attack counters Attack.
Special attacks have a large variety of negative effects and deal the most damage

"Well, tell that to the Finnish."

"...Eh... Well, anyways, you never know. They have a large population in labor camps and penal regiments."

"I suppose... Anyways... Could you pass me the towel?"

"Hm? This one?"

You lean over the armchair and pass the towel to him. He cleans some of the blood off his face.

Don't worry, it's more like we got some super steroids.

"Hey, come on I'm not contagious. "

As soon as I came back...

"Well... There may be a god, but I can't really prove it which one he or she is... But I also am interested... I'll certainly ponder it at later date."

"I see... Well, I suppose you have your own opinion. Anyways, let us drink!"

He begins to chug, and so do you...

Ignore my roll.
>>
An hour later...

You chug much to the cheer of Ivan... Who's real name is actually Sergov Ivanchovich.

"So, anyways... There I was, seeing my commanding officer in bed with one of the noble's daughters during the celebration... And did you know what he did? He smacked me with his belt and told me to "never intrude on a gentleman's privacy!"

He gives a raucous, drunk laugh.

"Oh, the captain was a devil he was... Had a habit for women..."

"Oh..."

"Anyways... What were you saying?"

"Well... You know, there was this time in Novgorod... The city mind you... I was walking along to the market when I found a book on the ground... I found a book called the "Canterbury Tales" from England... It was quite interesting..."

"...That's a highlight?" He says...

"...Well... I though it was notable. Not many people leave books lying around on roads."

He lays back in his couch.

"...So, the soviet conscript on the run... Very interesting! Now, a soviet conscript with fur? I'd bet if my little sister was Stalin, she'd break apart at the seams!"

He laughs heavily, as your a bit confused.

"What do you mean?"

"Oh, little girls love cats, dogs, anything with fur. You know how it is comrade."

"...Your sister would find me cute?"

"In the senses of a six-year-old, I suppose. Now, comrade... How does more vodka sound?"
Sergov has been befriended. And the two of you are quite intoxicated.

Actions

>...Decline more vodka.

"More vodka indeed!"

You laugh at thinking that people would find you as cute as a bear...

Ignore my roll.
>>
At this point, you are completely smashed out drunk. Sergov also seems smashed.

"...You... You know... Claws and fangs aren't the weirdest thing I've seen on people..."

"...Really? What else?'

"...You know those people from the east... You know... Those people with the strange hoods..."

"Muslims?"

"Yeah... They're... They're really strange... Not able to eat meat..."

"Meat's great."

"Fuck yeah... You know... I think I have some in the back... I'm... I'm going to try and cook them."

"Eeeh... Is that really smart?"

"...I worked as a fry cook for a few weeks... I think I can cook one steak..."

He hiccups

"...Do... Do you want anything? How well done?"

"I think medium rare's the best..."

Sergov seems to greatly appericate this.

"Fuck yeah, that's the only way a steak should be cooked... It's basically beef once you cook it to being well done..."

"...Isn't it already beef?"

"You know what I mean... Anyways..."

Sergov begins to get up, and stumbles, his legs shaky.

"...Fuck my life... Can you hold my drink while I cook?"

"...The vodka?"

"Da..."

"Sure..."

You grab his bottle of vodka as he stumbles to the kitchen.

"...You know what goes good with steak?"

"What?"

"...I dunno..."

You laugh a bit, while Sergov takes a steak out of his mini-freezer and puts it in a pan..

"...You know, I heard that there was this American who barbecued a steak on his car in California..."

"Heh, yeah... Americans are weird."

"Da... Can you pass my vodka? We cook steaks like men."

"...What do you mean?"

"...Why not cook it with vodka? That is... Something people do, yes?"

You swear it was wine that people cook with...

Sergov manages to cook some fairly great steaks with vodka, and you get exceedingly drunk... And promptly pass out on his couch. He follows suite too.

While you sleep, the alcohol reduces the pain you feel while mutating, and lets you sleep comfortably...
