You sprint towards the exit of the parking lot, noticing the cracks appearing on the walls- Since the temperature was so damm high outside, and it declined so sharply, it must be causing the rigid walls to contract forcefully after expanding from the heat- and breaking them! If you had stayed down there, it might have just come crashing down-

A huge crashing sound and a terrible shaking of the ground bring you to your knees in the middle of the road. God, that was close- you look back- your group has managed to make it out mostly unscathed- though it seems Keiko got hit by a flying shard of rock from one of the walls collapsing, it doesn´t seem serious- at least nothing that magic can´t heal. God, this is surreal... It hasn´t even been a full day yet since you woke up- or at least, you think it hasn´t. Your phone still says it is January first, but it feels like it´s taking forever...

The air is cold. Very cold, in fact- if this is anything like the sun and the heat from before- and you won´t know how long this will last... Your group must be a strange sight in the freezing cold- a group of teenagers accompanied by two demons walking under an eclipse steadily becoming total, with the only light coming from Pyro Jack´s fireballs, as the temperature keeps dropping… You pass through the empty streets, noticing that there are a couple of bodies on the ground that weren´t there before- probably people who were hiding in their houses and got desperate when the temperature was getting unbearable. The stench is terrible- but you grab Daiki before he stops to look at the corpses and move on, trying your best to stay warm. After what probably was 10 minutes, you add your own fire spell to Pyro Jack´s fireball, trying to offset the chilling wind that seems to be picking up…

1 January, 18:30// -20ºC.
While walking towards your goal, you take a look at the surrounding buildings- It seems most of them have lost most of their structural integrity due to the rapid cooling of the air- most sporting at least large cracks, some completely broken down- a few streets are completely blocked by debris and chunks of stone. Most streetlights have cracked or entirely destroyed glass, probably imploded too… But you find one building that shows no signs of damage from all this.

The church.

The church near El Solarón was not a place you visited often- in fact, you don´t think you had ever actually entered it, but there was something definitely odd about it being the only building around that was completely unharmed by the extreme temperatures. The wind even seemed to calm down around it… Very odd indeed.

“WELCOME TO THE CATHEDRAL OF SHADOWS, MY FRIENDS! WE´VE GOT DEMONS OF ALL KINDS, WE DO! ALSO FUSING DEMONS TO MAKE STRONGER DEMONS!” He punctuates the end of the line with a joyous laugh- Okay, this dude is creeping you out in a “too cheery for the apocalypse” way.

You and your group decide to stay a while longer, hopefully once the eclipse starts to fade out, the temperature from the sun will balance out and not burn you or freeze you to death instantly. You walk around the church pews, trying to find something useful- there really isn´t much here other than the wooden banks, and the carpets- you guess you could take the carpets to cover yourselves during the cold, but you don’t really know if this eclipse is a one time thing or not, and from the death glare you get from the priest you´d probably be better off without doing that…

The cold seems to be subsiding- though it´s still pretty damm cold, Pyro Jack´s fireballs seem to be enough to keep you all warmed up. You make your way through the ruined streets, remembering how they looked mere hours ago- All of this, and it´s still January 1rst… what a great way to start this year, really, it somehow managed to top off ALL of 2016, ha ha. Fuck, if the internet still worked you´d probably be able to at least get some more help. You don´t even know how the world outside of this city is reacting to all of this…

As you near El Solarón, you notice something… the ground seems to have small patches of snow on it- which shouldn´t be possible, since there has been no rainfall since this morning, and the heat would have melted it all off-
