New players are always welcome!

In this quest you assume the role of an aspiring student who is about to enter the Mageknight Academy. You must hone your skills, make some friends (and perhaps also some enemies) and fight battles in order to prove yourself worthy of graduating as a fully fledged Mageknight! Each year (every 100th turn) your character will be tested by the academy to see if your character is progressing well and meeting the Academy's high standards. After the 3rd year your character will head off into a their first mission for a final test.

How to Join:
New players must fill out their character sheets. The sheet must include the following information:
>Anyone can join at any time. Latecomers and laggers are given bonus action points to catch up with the other players.
1) Your character's full name
2) Your character's backstory, appearance and any other useful information.
3) You are given 3 Skill Points. Choose 1 starting spell and 2 other skills or spells.

How to Play:
1) Each turn you will be given 2 [Action Points]. Post your character sheet and your chosen actions along with a 2d100 roll.
>Normally your roll must pass the [Difficulty Challenge] of 25 in order to succeed.
>Getting a 10 and below is a [Critical Failure] while 91 and above is a [Critical Success]
2) All players must wait for the "TURN GO" post before submitting any actions posts. After which you must post your actions only to that post.
3) After all actions are processed and a new turn begins, update your character sheet.

Acquiring and Improving Spells & Skills:
1) Study, research, explore, train or take classes to discover and learn new spells.
2) Training an already learned spell or skill will raise it further to the next tier once enough [Progress Points] are accumulated.
4) The progress threshold is based on the Fibonacci sequence (1,2,3,5,8,...)
>Usually Spell and Skill tiers are named as Basic => Intermediate => Advanced => Expert => Master
>Alternatively you can label the tiers as T1, T2, T3 and so on.

Spellcrafting:
Spellcrafting involves fusing spells with various skills, knowledge and even other spells that your character has learned together creating a new spell or skill.
>The name of the resulting new spell will be determined by the QM. By default it will be "Cast A B C..."
>Your dice roll will affect the result of the spellcrafting. Lower rolls will result in weaker or negative version of the intended spell and vice versa.

Social Interactions:
1) Role playing with other players is a free action. Role playing with NPCs, however, will cost an action point to do so.
2) Collaborative Player-to-Player actions like trading, tutoring and PvP, will cost an action point to do so.

Combat:
1) Post 2 actions like you normally would. Your opponent will roll their own 2 actions.
2) To defeat your opponent, you must overcome their defensive or evasion roll and vice versa
>If you have not rolled an evasion or defensive roll then your opponent must pass normal DC to hit you and vice versa.
>If both combatants attacked successfully then it's a Double KO.
>If both combatants defended successfully then it's a Stalemate.

I should work quickly before the cube is completely disassembled. I hook up the bulky arcane computer to the machining station's control interface. Then, with the aid of Camille's programming expertise, we spellprogram a digital spell; A specialized version of the restoration spell that reassemble, restore and repair damage or disassembled objects back to its original state. I've created a disassembly spell before, it's only a matter of reversing the polarity. After the spell program is done, I'll etch the necessary restoration runes to the cube. Afterwards I will take the cube to the ritual room and activate the rune enchantments on the magic circle. If this works this should, in theory, make the cube continually reassemble itself as the force of disassembly disassembles it. Counterbalance the negative force with a positive one.

Markus looked up from his notes on the sleeping spell he was working on. He had learned of the technique in the closing days in healing theory in Amsterdam, and now he was researching if the spell was possible to recreate using music to help the patient relax. Backstory: Before joining the academy, Joachim was a street rat, a thief, a scum lower than dirt since birth. Prowling the streets as a pickpocket and stealing food to see the next day, he sometimes find a way to indulge in reading, his favourite pastime activity. One fateful day, a man on the streets promised him money if he assassinate a high ranking mageknight. Joachim never killed anyone before, well outside of back alley brawls, intentionally anyway. He needs the money and he had nothing to lose. As expected he failed, but during the fight with the mageknight in his home, Joachim grabbed a spellbook in desperation and tried casted a fireball, and succeeded, much to him and the mageknight's surprise. The mageknight saw the potential in Joachim and sent him to study in the Mageknight Academy under his name. Joachim, now aspiring to become something more than what he was, is confident and fearless, but sometimes insecure about his capability.

Again, Markus found himself on he precipice of denial but the idea of more incoming tears was less agreeable. Maybe if he got smashed over and over again he could stop feeling like shit.

"Yeah, that sounds spot on." He said looking at his notes once more and flipping the book close. "Thanks man. I'll pop in the office for a second to Master then I'll be right out with you." And with that he vanished into the office to do just that.

Playing the tape using whatever medium you chose, it begins with a speaker. Somewhat nasally and with frequent breaks to munch on crunchy snacks. "I don't know why everybody hates me. I just want what everybody else wants. To he a Hero of the Stars and stop Evildoers with my Bat of Justice! But people don't like it when you thwompt them. CRUNCH. So there I am beating these noobs at Mundane Cards, with the triple piece suit of accounting, when I get jumped by a, honest to Loony in the Sky, Furry Monster Man. His bite still itches, ouch. CRUNCH.

After a quick static cut in the audio, the same nasally voice returns, somewhat more deflated, "I'm so tired. I haven't actually napped or slept since breakfast yesterday. Weird furry dreams. No Thwompting either, But I've been getting massive power-ups. So strong… The rash is getting more itchy on my belly. I might be getting sick. Mom should know how to fix this."

Another static cut in the audio, and the voice returns, this time absolutely devastated. You can hear the snotty tears being flung off the speaker's face, "WHAT HAVE I DONE? I just wanted some medicine. I just wanted relief from the itch. I showed up with a sick jump flip on her balcony and she just ... I DIDN'T KNOW. Oh Loony in the Sky, please take this away from me. Can't sleep, can't think. So hungry, but nothing tastes right. Everything is a Nightmare. And the Nightmares won't leave my head." And this is where the audio is jostled abit, as if the recorder was being moved around.

Another alien voice, seemingly straight from the starchy static of the recording and yet plainly coherent and audible, "This can be taken away from you. The Pain. The Fear. The Shame. The Curse that runs through you offers relief and solace for those willing to take it." The [Static Voice] is interrupted by the nasally voice's pleading for only a single moment. But that pleading has a gravity that pulls you further downwards into the deepest pits of despair. There was never truly a more desperate and poor soul you've ever heard outside the lake of fire itself.

The Static Voice returns saying, "You must separate yourself from this shame by piling on a different shame. If you do not wish to be known for one Sin, commit an even more terrible Sin so that the original is overlooked. Forgotten in a spiral of horror. Leave a message for those that are drawn to uncover such horrible things. Remind them that such things exist. Both in the world and in their souls." Another static cut in the audio. The [Static Voice] returns just before the tape spools out, "Llac meht, dna yeht lliw emoc. Yas rieht eman, dna yeht lliw raeh uoy."

[===Academy News===]
Minor reports of attacks on nearby villages have been televised in local news. It doesn’t seem to be a very major threat, and most believe it is merely a few fey causing ruckuses. No reports of deaths or casualties have been noted, though a few people seem to have gone missing. Some hysterical conspiracists say that the eldritch gods have returned to kill us all, but it’s obviously just a few insane fear mongers trying to make themselves famous.

There have been reports by some students that the enchanted woods by the school have grown to be almost impenetrable. The trees have all turned black, and a steady mist expands from the area. Cobwebs have been seen on every tree, and some teachers have reported that the streams coming from the woods are entirely full of a black liquid, that would be extremely unwise to touch. The school administration has stated that examining the woods, or even nearing them, is extremely unadvisable. Teachers will be patrolling the borders of the enchanted woods from now on. First years are strictly forbidden from entering, second years may only come close if they are in a group, and third years have been tasked with examining what is occurring in the woods. Some third years have already vanished, to the dismay of the staff. Most of the students have taken to calling the previous enchanted woods the “Grimwood”.

The Deertaur had stopped diplomatic communications with the academy several weeks ago, but now they have left a worrying message pinned to the front gate of the school. It was in some sort of black parchment, and written in blood. “We are coming.” Principal Hernandez states that all students and staff must be on guard, and that a curfew is now being put in place- all students must be in their dormitories by 10:30 PM.

Principal Hernandez has reestablished the old school organization, [The Watch]. You may sign up in order to help patrol the school, and see whether any problems are arising. However, being a member of [The Watch] requires that one spend at least one action every other turn to patrol the school, at little to no personal benefit. Every three actions of patrolling the school will earn the student a League Point, up until the cap of 9. A tenth League Point may be earned by finding something particularly important, or putting down a major threat. Missing one of these actions results in probation from [The Watch]. Missing two will result in being kicked from [The Watch].

I’m Sleipnir. Let’s ride” and give her a wink. Your moment in the spotlight is taken away when the teacher enters the classroom and everyone goes to their seats. You, again, keep exchanging gazes, looks and glances with her. She smiles every time you both catch each other glances. After class you go and talk to her and now you tell her your real name and she tells you her name is [Kari Oili]. You restrain yourself from saying another Nordic-related pick up line and actually ask her out.

As you walk through the hallways of the building in route to the [Student Council Office] you notice that Kari has been following you since you left the classroom. You stop and just turn back to see her. She says “I thought we were going out.”, you look at her puzzled. You explain her that you meant as a date, something that people that like each other do. She blushes hard and looks seriously embarrassed. “I beg you pardon, but none had made me such a direct proposal like that before.” She pauses for a moment as she plays with the long grey hair. “But I would really like to go with you on a date, Jozin.”

“Of course.” Vlad is in his scientist get up again. He’s as busy as you last saw him. “Do you still remember the vampire girl? Well, I’ll be needing your assistance on examining her body.” Vlad pushed a wheeled metal autopsy table and removed the cover. On it is what remained of the vampire girl. Her stumps are hooked up to a cluster of tubes that are connected to what looks like a mechanical pump. “Don’t worry. I’ve been pumping her with a special blood concoction of mine. It’s a sedative for vampiric creatures.” You look on to the tube. Indeed there seems to be some sort of strange looking blood that is being pumped in and out of her body. “She should be in perpetual pseudo-torpor as long as she receives her dosage at regular intervals.” He then went to the closet and donned a sterile looking surgical gear. “Here.” He took another set from the closet and gave it to you. “You’ll need to wear this too. Wouldn’t want to contaminate the samples. The purer the sample, the more accurate the data.” He then took a set of surgical tools and placed it near the operating table. “Now Let’s move her to the operating table so that we may begin.” You helped him carefully placing her body to the table.

You and Vlad spent the last few hours thoroughly examining the body. As Vlad cuts her open to examine her organs, you can clearly see that the cut is slowly regenerating. Before the cut closes, Vlad casted a spell to hold the hole in place and he put a metal frame on it, preventing it from closing. “Hmmm… she doesn’t seem different from any vampire that I’ve operated on.” He then noticed something inside. “Hm?” He then pushed back the other organs and saw what looks like a dark red organ. It looks like a smaller version of a heart but it’s more like an elongated tube. “How peculiar. Never seen this before. Hand me a syringe please. The small one. Right there.” You handed him a small syringe. He then extracted a sample from the mysterious organ and ejected the syringe contents to a small vial. “Should study this further.” He resumed examining the body. Eventually he closed the opening and let it regenerate. “Matt, help me with this.” He made a quick hand gesture. Suggesting that you help him flip her over gently. Once flipped, he took a hanging tube and sprayed the body with some unknown substance. As the liquid vapors are slowly being absorbed into her skin, you notice that patterns and markings slowly appear from the side of her nape. “Intriguing.” Vlad murmurs to himself as he observes. He then took a thin piece of metal and what looks like a portable magnifier and took a closer look at the markings. “This mark... I know this symbol. It’s the insignia of Clan Dracul. An ancient clan of vampires originating from Romania. But what’s subsect did she belonged to I wonder...” As he further examines the mark, you start to notice that it is slowly fading away. “No… Not enough time.” He then looked at you and said with urgency in his voice. “Matt, grab the camera over that table there. Quickly! Before the mark disappears.” You hurriedly went for camera. You nearly slipped on a puddle of blood, but luckily your vampiric reflexes managed to save you from a fall. “Careful! That’s sensitive equipment. Now, take a picture of the mark. Quickly now.” You pointed the camera at the mark and snapped a picture of it before it completely disappears. “Good job. This should prove useful on finding out who she is.” He wiped a bit of sweat from his greying eyebrows. “Now, let’s continue. Come.” He handed you a scalpel. “I’ll teach you some pointers on how to properly operate on a live vampire.”

You ponder and ponder. Going over your schematics again and again. But ultimately you find inspiration from older material, legends, well more folklore now that you think about it. In Jewish folklore, a golem is an animated anthropomorphic being that is magically created entirely from inanimate matter (specifically clay or mud). The word was used to mean an amorphous, unformed material in Psalms and medieval writing. You find the classic narrative of The Golem of Prague

The most famous golem narrative involves Judah Loew ben Bezalel, the late 16th century rabbi of Prague, also known as the Maharal, who reportedly created a golem to defend the Prague ghetto from antisemitic attacks and pogroms. Depending on the version of the legend, the Jews in Prague were to be either expelled or killed under the rule of Rudolf II, the Holy Roman Emperor. To protect the Jewish community, the rabbi constructed the Golem out of clay from the banks of the Vltava river, and brought it to life through rituals and Hebrew incantations. The Golem was called Josef and was known as Yossele. It was said that he could make himself invisible and summon spirits from the dead. The only care required of the Golem was that he couldn't be active on the day of Sabbath (Saturday). Rabbi Loew deactivated the Golem on Friday evenings by removing the shem before the Sabbath began, so as to let it rest on Sabbath. One Friday evening Rabbi Loew forgot to remove the shem, and feared that the Golem would desecrate the Sabbath. A different story tells of a golem that fell in love, and when rejected, became the violent monster seen in most accounts. Some versions have the golem eventually going on a murderous rampage

You work more on your Cure Wounds spell, the bread and butter of any healer. Gauging exactly how much mana you need to cure a certain wound is pretty difficult, because of the large variety of different factors at work in a wound. So, instead of trying to make an estimate yourself, you have a different idea. With another spell, you could get a decent approximation of the amount of mana needed to cure a wound. And that spell could do the calculations for you.

You start working on your diagnosis spell. You then look for a volunteer in the infirmary. Thankfully, most patients seem to trust you enough to let you try your spell. You use your diagnosis spell on a man with a gash on his arm. It goes through his body, searching for wounds, then transmitting information back to your mind. You then cast your cure wounds spell, and you’re pleasantly surprised to find that there’s almost no leftover healing mana left in your patient’s body once the wound closes. You can call this experiment a success.

At the end of her shift, you meet with nurse Kiru, and ask her to teach you more about thaumaturgical medicine. She seems to think about it for a minute, then agrees. “First of all, you should know that a lot of victims of magic conditions are dangerous. You saw the damage caused by the cardboard monster. Use your knowledge to help the victims, don’t try to go against the attackers all by yourself. There’s qualified hunters for that.” She seems really serious about it, so you agree, at least for now; After all, she won’t teach you if you don’t agree to her conditions.

She starts by talking about the “big two” of magic afflictions : Vampirism, and lycanthropy. Treating them can be simple. Most treatments involve the use of the homeopathic principle : That which can cause, can cure. Well, a modified version of it, anyway. In small doses, the weaknesses of these creatures can actually treat the condition itself. It won’t usually work on full vampires or werecreatures, but on recent infectees, this is the preferred method. This is why silver is used in most lycanthropy treatment, in small dosages, as most silver compounds are dangerous for the human body. Vampires are a bit trickier. Their main weakness, sunlight, isn’t available on demand. UV ray-based cures are a thing, but they’re still under scrutiny. Vampirism has also a large variety of different strains, with a wide variety of weaknesses. Some vampires are even immune to the light of the sun. Usually, treating vampirism involves identifying the strain involved, then creating a treatment using that information.

Magical Theory as taught by Professor Adalbert Waffling is an often overlooked class since most first year students are confident enough in their own understanding of their magic. However those that choose to ignore the basics often repeat easy mistakes or overestimate their abilities. “Better a Ashworth than an Ashless, Haha” In the classroom you're taught that their are many different components just to make a fireball. For the first day he has chosen to demonstrate a simple fire effect.

Professor simplifies the rather obscene amount of theory (Professor Waffling makes sure you understand how simplified he's making the demonstration.) down to basics of spell crafting as three things:
A basic understanding of how to kindle a fire is adequate.
Some form of empowerment, most magical spells are empowered by the mage's mana which replenishes naturally.
Finally, the mage focuses his will, his understanding of the phenomenon, whatever different tricks they have at their disposal(such as runes) to make fire. There is a small amount of flare as the wizened wrinkled hands snap and produces the flame. And lights a pipe he has in his hands. Simple enough but it sparks a glint in your eyes.

Returning high on a successful hunt you feel utterly alive cursing back to the Storage Shed. Unfortunately you've got to decline the more 'authentic' experience but begin thinking about how to create the same effect without the huge werecreature claws attempting to give you a new windpipe.

You ask your question to Casey, who has already pilfered the Six Pack before you can sit down. She responses that of course she knows how to great to the highest point in the School. It's a bit of a climb and definitely an out of a way place. But she's more than happy to show you her secret passage way. After popping a can, she stands up to walk towards a rack of gym mats. Pulling back the mats reveals a small and cramped portal that you have to crouch to walk through. The inside opens up to what appears to be the school's maintenance tunnels.

She holds her hand for a second and closes her eyes. She seems to mumble a few words, you don't understand until a shining thread of light appears. She takes that thread by the tips of her finger and follows it. She remarks that these tunnels are abit more hazardous than you would think. Especially near the glowing pipes that make you feel funny. When you emerge from the tunnels you find yourself staring at the side of the Holy Order Chapel. Funny you never realized how those vines look so climbable. Or how those gargoyles look so terrifying.

Walking back into the Chapel you feel the same conviction you did the first time trespassing the threshold. The same sinking feeling in the pit of your stomach after being way too stuffed on thanksgiving turkey and sick with the gutrot. Only this time you're the bird about to be roasted for others to feast on. Every single sound is amplified, echoing off the walls of the Holy Father's house. If you figured for one second that you could hide your intentions those thoughts were dashed like so much stained glass crashing to the red carpet floor. The attending priest is present and takes your request for confession.

Being raised as as good religious girl you may have gone to confession a few times whenever you broke a promise or told a lie that actually hurt somebody. Nothing like making plans that fell through or telling the white lie to spare someone's feelings. But the kind of big stuff that tore at your heart and pulled you into the confessional. You always remembered feeling so unsettled sitting on the hard uncomfortable wooden bench. This time, the feeling is magnified as your realize the depths of what happened during the Hunt. Even if your actions were justified you feel compelled to apologize for your involvement. However you confess not only about the Hunt but all your actions you've silently questioned yourself about. Until you are bawling about the sorry state of your soul.

The priest silently listens to your confession. You can't quite make out his face through the small sliding panel. It seems flat and expressionless. Who could imagine it being anything more or anything less. Certainly not a grin because a grin would be giving this face much too much emotion and ulterior motive. He tells you that it is quite understandable that after such a dramatic experience that you would need to escape from the external world for awhile. Whatever your intentions were before speaking with Alexander Leek, you realize that his offer of sanctuary is not one you can refuse. It might have been his matter of fact speech when speaking about some other people's concerns about any number of things you confessed. The risky Hunt that could have infected you. The bad crowd you find yourself. Or any number of rumors about your parental heritage.

By the end of the confession, you've agreed to wear a suppressing charm, a small crystal vial of red liquid, at all times around your neck while you are sheltered within the Holy Order Chapel.

Amazing! Inspired by Caiden's work, me and the team began building a variant of 8ball Tank. This time with protection and tactical support in mind. Install large folding shields on its legs (similar in architecture as my foldable shield but upscaled.) and a deployable operating table underneath (complete with robot arms for delicate operations), enabling this version to deploy into a bunker clinic. It's storage compartment will be filled with the necessary medical supplies. I'll ask the academy's clinic for professional medical advice and the Alchemy club's chemical expertise for this project. Ean walked towards the address that Devin gave him, and the building itself was...luxurious, to say the least. It seemed to be a building constructed with the classic style, but had elements of modern and contemporary design. It was quite pleasing to the eyes.

"So this is where Devin lives, hm?" Ean muttered to himself. He wasn't here to gawk though. The Nature Mage knocked on the door, and came face to face with Devin himself. Greetings were exchanged, and Ean was ushered into the living room, where he took a seat on one of the couches around the coffee table. He listened to what his friend had to say, and spoke once he was finished saying his piece.

"I'm with you, man." Ean said, his tone brimming with solidarity. "Can't let you go in there alone, after all." He reached for a glass of water, sipping at its refreshing contents as he waited for a response.

Agata barges into the house. She's covered in patches of black grease all over her face and arms. She's still wearing her work goggles on her forehead. Her uniform is haphazardly put on. Ean waved a hand to his friend as she entered. He eyed her up and down. Her uniform is messy, her posture was tired, and her breathing was ragged. To put it simply, she was a mess. Ean had a sinking feeling that she ran all the way here from her workshop. The distance from this house to campus isn't very far, but a run all the way here would be pretty tiring.

"When it comes to what is causing the corruption and its origin point, I can answer both of those actually," he looks towards Agata.

"When I had entered the woods months back, I had heard news from Pappiliodya..." Devin face changes into a worrying look at the thought of his little friend, still missing from Ada was attacked in those same woods," that the deertuar had been attacked by spinewolves out of blue quite viciously. So as I took it upon myself to see why, on my next trip into the woods a couple days later, I came across a hooded individual in front of a spring. I got spooked by the person, so I didn't confront them right then and there. But what I did do was return again to that very same spring and acquired a sample of the dark water."

He takes a sip of his tea before continuing on. "I couldn't test it myself right away due to my injuries from the bolder incident at the time, so I asked Cassandra to have the vial tested for me. When she took it to Nurse Kiru, she had said that she's never seen anything like it before, but that it would seem to have been heavily concentrated with one thing." His eyes narrow, "Dark Magic."

"Dark magic tainted waters?" Agata crosses her arms and closed her eyes. After a few moments of deep thought she spoke. "We have a machine back at the workshop. One of my clubmates, Caiden, headed that project. It's capable of purifying other forms of mana back into a pure form mana. If what you say is true, then it might be possible to purify the source of the corruption with our machine. Once we starve the woods of the source of its taint, the forest's corruption will eventually dissipate." she shrugs "Well, in theory anyway. Such a large scale corruption like this would probably require constant cleansing. Or a large scale purification ritual. If we deploy the machine over the waters and let it filter out the taint continuously, it will, at the very least, Stop the taint from spreading further and, at best, starve out the corruption until it fades away." she looks at her comrades at arms "We are too few in numbers. Even if we succeeded in planting the machine, there's still a lot of forest lest to work on. If we want to completely cleanse the forest of corruption, we may need the assistance of a bigger organization to continue our work for us in the long term." she scratches her head "Well, that's what I would do anyway. You guys have any other plans that you have in mind?"

Ean's brow furrowed as he listened to his friend's words. He remembered Pappiliodya as the fairy that emerged from the crystal egg Devin had found before. The Nature Mage also recalled Ada's injuries. They were severe, and it was only thanks to his magic that she was able to recover so quickly. This was grim news indeed. The fact that it was caused by a hooded person who seemed to have been tainting the water only further complicates the situation.

"Dark magic..." Ean muttered as he listened in. Mana like that was volatile and had dangerous effects on the environment. He was slightly irked that it had gone so far to as corrupt the entire forest and its inhabitants. Agata went on to discuss her plans, and it was evident that this was something Alpha Squad couldn't do alone. The nature mage spoke once he had thought things through.

"Hm. Yeah." He said in response. "We won't be able to clear this up on our own. We're down a few members, after all." Ean stretched his neck as he reached for another glass of water. "We could always post another request on the bulletin board. It worked for the assault on the Fey Gardens, after all." He suggested.

The Nature Mage didn't know exactly what she was doing, but it must've taken its toll on her. Angelica took a seat on the nearby chair, and a few pleasantries were exchanged between everyone.

Eventually, the topic of a plan came up, and Ean opened his mouth to speak.
"We don't quite have a solid plan yet. We've got a couple problems we've run into. Firstly, we don't quite have the manpower to pull something like this off. The forest's a big place, and we'll need some more people watching our backs if we want to get through safely."

The nature mage pondered a bit, before continuing.

"Secondly, the school might not approve of our entry. Second years are allowed to enter in groups, but Devin..." Ean lingered, opting not to continue that statement. "We'll have to find another way in, or convince them somehow."

Ean shut his eyes for a moment, and then spoke again.

"Lastly, we'll need a way to cleanse the source of corruption, whatever it may be. Devin said it was dark magic, and that it had corrupted the spring. "Agata has a machine they've made with her club, and Devin seems to have something up his sleeve in that regard." The nature mage finally concluded. He looked to his companions before talking once more.

Minor reports of attacks on nearby villages have been televised in local news. It doesn’t seem to be a very major threat, and most believe it is merely a few fey causing ruckuses. No reports of deaths or casualties have been noted, though a few people seem to have gone missing. Some hysterical conspiracists say that the eldritch gods have returned to kill us all, but it’s obviously just a few insane fear mongers trying to make themselves famous.

There have been reports by some students that the enchanted woods by the school have grown to be almost impenetrable. The trees have all turned black, and a steady mist expands from the area. Cobwebs have been seen on every tree, and some teachers have reported that the streams coming from the woods are entirely full of a black liquid, that would be extremely unwise to touch. The school administration has stated that examining the woods, or even nearing them, is extremely unadvisable. Teachers will be patrolling the borders of the enchanted woods from now on. First years are strictly forbidden from entering, second years may only come close if they are in a group, and third years have been tasked with examining what is occurring in the woods. Some third years have already vanished, to the dismay of the staff. Most of the students have taken to calling the previous enchanted woods the “Grimwood”. The Academy has set up an Outpost for investigation.

The Deertaur had stopped diplomatic communications with the academy several weeks ago, but now they have left a worrying message pinned to the front gate of the school. It was in some sort of black parchment, and written in blood. “We are coming.” Principal Hernandez states that all students and staff must be on guard, and that a curfew is now being put in place- all students must be in their dormitories by 10:30 PM.

Principal Hernandez has reestablished the old school organization, [The Watch]. You may sign up in order to help patrol the school, and see whether any problems are arising. However, being a member of [The Watch] requires that one spend at least one action every other turn to patrol the school, at little to no personal benefit. Every three actions of patrolling the school will earn the student a League Point, up until the cap of 9. A tenth League Point may be earned by finding something particularly important, or putting down a major threat. Missing one of these actions results in probation from [The Watch]. Missing two will result in being kicked from [The Watch].

The story opens up with Felipe Ashworth as a boy in the Alaska Tundra. After trekking through a hard mountain pass, he finds himself about a day or two's walk from civilization and low on supplies. He and his dog are walking happily in a nice warmer bit of weather, when suddenly one small snowflake falls to the ground. The narrator looks in horror as more and more snowflakes fall around him. He realizes it's a cold snap hot on his heels. He doubles down on his pace, but night is quickly dissenting as well.

With your sword skills, you think it's a good idea to learn a new technique. You take a few hours of your time reading about some sword techniques and styles that would focused on stunning the opponent. After a few books, you find something that looks to fit what you were looking for. It's a weird but effective style originally used for breaking through armor when the blade couldn’t. It’s a sword style that requires you to hold the blade of the sword. When you get a good grip and proper hold on the blade, You use the sword like a mace or an axe, swinging it. After reading on it, you bring out a sword and start trying it out, you hold the blade and try swinging it at first, but you let go as you feel the blades edge. You try this a few more times, finding the proper hold. Why didn’t that book have pictures? After much more time than you expected, you finally get the hang of it. You find it so easy that you could throw the blade in the air catch it in its proper grip and easily bash on the tree without any scratches on your hands.

Gearing up. You decide to leave the greatsword for the moment. Students walking around with arms and armor is not uncommon but you are breaking into someone else's flat. You went at the cover of night. You see that most of them have turned into pods. Good. That means that they’re sleeping. You began to see tendrils of arcane energy coming from the sphere and slowly creeping towards the plant women. With an wind up motion the arcane tendrils drilled themselves inside the pods. All of the affected individuals convulse for a while before calming down as well as the tendrils fade away. That’s way more violent that what you have expected. Well, now that the ritual is complete, it’s only a matter of letting the spell’s effects to take hold. You quietly head back to your dorm and went to sleep.

The Chapel's classroom is a little different than the Academy's classrooms. The most striking difference is the religious iconography scattered everywhere. The most familiar is the crucified messiah and the virgin mother. The lesson is taught in a manner of fact way from one of the Sisters associated with the Holy Order and covers the question of Faith. What is Faith? Most understand Faith as an urging or emotion that drives them to worship. In this manner, Faith is something that seeks to be expressed within the faithful. Others describe Faith as a virtue, having confidence in the Belief of the Divine Being and everything that follows after that. Not many would describe Faith as a tangible thing, but as an energy that can be observed by its effect on people and the environment. What any of these interpretations means for yourself as a Mageknight in training is for you to explore and define.

The Midnight Mass is surprisingly scheduled at 10:00pm. You can thank the recent Holy Order Patriarch for his interpretation of traditional rituals. Many Chapels and Churches still have the mass at midnight on the dot. With the recent Curfew in effect, Alexander decided breaking with tradition to be prudent. Despite the turmoil or maybe because of it, the pews are packed with the faithful, students, faculty and even some of civilians of Madrid have shown up to express their Faith. Each one holds a candle in a disposal paper wax guard.

Before the service, you made sure that the worship area is cleaned and that the pews are stocked with hymnals, a black book with golden lettering. It all feels very familiar and comforting watching the priest open up the service with a prayer devoting the service to God, the Father, Almighty, of absolute control of the Heavens as he is in our lives. The Choir is small this evening but the piano and congregation makes up for it, filling the chapel with a tens of voices of worship. Yourself still singing along with the hymn, you're overcome with a certain amount of awe and revelation that comes from your chest. And then in an instant, you see the golden strands of bright light erupt from the Choir and congregation.

Nobody seems to react to this golden light being siphoned off. And you have an instant realization that this sight has been granted to you by the Overcoat you were given to replace your delinquent clothes. The golden strands arch in the air from each participant and coalesces on the altar before the priest. The hymn comes to an end. And the priest continues the mass. Cutting the Curfew awfully close, Alexander opts to have a brief collective Communion, have yourself and other Sisters of the Holy Order pass out pieces of bread and small cups wine. With that complete, the congregation sits silently in their own prayers. You notice that while the congregation bows their heads, the other Sisters take the sacrament from the altar, still glowing with the golden light. You witness them take them through the priest's directory, and for a split second you see an impossible sight. You see a darken staircase leading down where there should the priest's office.

Surprisingly it works, Kari meets you at the back alley and you escape the Campus to go and hit the Minigolf. Sure, some of the back alleys are pretty damn dark, you have no problem navigating them but hear Kari conjure a spell, she whispers “Radljast” with her cute and timid voice. A small ball of light sits on Kari shoulder. Even tho it’s a light, it's pretty dim, it's just barely illuminated to navigate around. You get kinda weirded out because of this. You think about this and start to reconsider how wise would be to date a light user. When you arrive to the MiniGolf, you notice it's somewhat empty but still have some fun because you have the whole course for you. You take the sandwiches out of you shiny red jacket and share them with Kari. You thought about bringing some wine, but Kari surprises you by taking out a bottle of Lakka from her purse. “I have no problem drinking straight from the bottle. Also my parents sent me this and told them to share it with someone special.” You give her a confused stare. “My father really likes liquor and he teached us, both my brother and I how to drink since we were 16. I normally don’t do it, but I guess this is a special moment.”

Back in Campus you start the walk to the Grimwoods. You found that the Academy has an Outpost near the woods entrance where various third year students are busy arguing about theories and what they have seen in the Woods. You notice that the Outpost is composed of almost every kind of Teacher and Magic user is here. The Dark Enchantments teacher is talking to one of the Theology teachers of the Order. Looks like they are combining every force in the Academy to tackle the problem of the Grimwoods. Kari approaches a very tall man with a Holy Order armor. She hugs him, say something to him and brings him to you. “Jozin, I want you to meet my brother: Balder.” You hesitate for a moment but you give him your hand. “Nice to meet you, Jozin.” They go back and forth talking in old Norse. She notices that you are getting out of the loop and fills you in. “They haven’t the source of the contamination in the woods and the Mist is spreading farther than we thought it would be. And they have made minor advance in trying to bring the Woods back to normal.”

When you accompany Kari back to her Dorm building she gives you a kiss on the cheek. “Thank you for this evening, Jozin.”

But all of this is rather ludicrous of course what is this a victorian novel or some trashy paranormal teen romance? ALTHOUGH if you model vampirism and werewolfism as rabies all you’d have to do is follow bites reports and traceback the infection. Does that mean there is a Patient Zero of supernatural monsters?

Minor reports of attacks on nearby villages have been televised in local news. It doesn’t seem to be a very major threat, and most believe it is merely a few fey causing ruckuses. No reports of deaths or casualties have been noted, though a few people seem to have gone missing. Some hysterical conspiracists say that the eldritch gods have returned to kill us all, but it’s obviously just a few insane fear mongers trying to make themselves famous.

There have been reports by some students that the enchanted woods by the school have grown to be almost impenetrable. The trees have all turned black, and a steady mist expands from the area. Cobwebs have been seen on every tree, and some teachers have reported that the streams coming from the woods are entirely full of a black liquid, that would be extremely unwise to touch. The school administration has stated that examining the woods, or even nearing them, is extremely unadvisable. Teachers will be patrolling the borders of the enchanted woods from now on. First years are strictly forbidden from entering, second years may only come close if they are in a group, and third years have been tasked with examining what is occurring in the woods. Some third years have already vanished, to the dismay of the staff. Most of the students have taken to calling the previous enchanted woods the “Grimwood”. The Academy has set up an Outpost for investigation.

The Deertaur had stopped diplomatic communications with the academy several weeks ago, but now they have left a worrying message pinned to the front gate of the school. It was in some sort of black parchment, and written in blood. “We are coming.” Principal Hernandez states that all students and staff must be on guard, and that a curfew is now being put in place- all students must be in their dormitories by 10:30 PM.

Principal Hernandez has reestablished the old school organization, [The Watch]. You may sign up in order to help patrol the school, and see whether any problems are arising. However, being a member of [The Watch] requires that one spend at least one action every other turn to patrol the school, at little to no personal benefit. Every three actions of patrolling the school will earn the student a League Point, up until the cap of 9. A tenth League Point may be earned by finding something particularly important, or putting down a major threat. Missing one of these actions results in probation from [The Watch]. Missing two will result in being kicked from [The Watch].

The local watch is happy to see Second year students volunteering. They take you to a small room with a blackboard and start to teach you some of the basics things you need to watch out for. General signs of suspicious activity and how to report everything in the walkie-talkies. They give you simple codes of color to signify the danger of the threat at hand and how how to handcuff someone. After that they give you a Uniform and a box of supplies for your rounds.

Prying off the grate, you slickity slosh slickly slosh. Into the unknown looking for your pride and Joy your water slime. Trying not to think too much of what nastiness is within the water you splash through into the drink with your head held high and your fingers squeezing your nose. Further down you hear the familiar bouncing bounce of your new friendly slime. Speeding along using your undead speed and your night vision to see. Darting around the last corner, you spot the your little blub of happiness flat up against a brick wall squeezing through the cracks.

You also hear hissing and snapping to your left. Turning to look at it, you note a large rat with it’s enlarged and hateful eyes. With arcing lightning between its whiskers It screeches and attacks you with an electric shock. Dodging as deftly as any action hero. You grab it by it’s bulbous tail and swing it right into the brickwork behind you. There is a satisfying squish and smack as the rat dies and you smack down the bricks.

On the other side, you see a most mundane sight. An office desk with storage shelving. Behind the desk is a skeleton eaten away by time with a revolver, a snot glass, and a small leather bond book by its side. The skull has a small hole roughly the size of your thumb. Joy is under the desk unharmed, if somewhat dirty. Retreating back above ground you take the small leather book on a hunch.

Thinking about it you ask the other member what can be done about the tank’s maneuverability. Laim helpfully tells you about the AfterMarket in town called, [Daze and Blaze]. Going to the wrong side of the tracks you hear the Whirl whirl of muscle cars suup up. A number of gangs and delinquents, seem to be in feuds and rivalries. It seems that a group of young thugs with broken time pieces as a motiff and a bunch of clowns in top hats and white suits are in a battle royal as you approach the shop. Avoiding the hassle you slip into the shop. Inside the proprietor of the shop greets you heartily and cheerfully.

You made your request of the shop “What yah building a monster truck or something?” He does have the parts in stock. Sadly they are not military quality, that would be blackmarket merchandise. The cost stretches your budget a bit but you are elsewise fine.

As you walk out you hear a rip roaring of motorcycles fleeting pass. One bike stops at the front door, and two chicks pop off the back. They give a “What yah looking AT?” and walk on in. They wear a jacket that’s been seen around the school actually.

The room around you starts feeling colder than usual and the bed feels wet. You try to grab your blanket instinctively, but you find nothing. You then check for the egg. It should be here. Wait, where is it? You jump from your bed and find that the egg has already hatched. In front of you lies the Baby Dragon, its scales shine brightly under the moonlight that comes from your window and he looks at you with his big jade eyes. You also notice, in front of him, that there’s a pretty big hole on the floor that is chewing the concrete into the apartment below. Looks like the Baby Dragon is the culprit of this one. You can see that the acid has melted some kind of figurines in the dorm room below, but the inhabitants are still asleep. Oh boy.

In your foggy dream state mind you realize two things: 1) The school can take the dragon away if they see it as a nuisance. 2) Damaging the property or lives of other can definitely be seen as a huge dangerous nuisance.

Later that night you went to check on the plant and saw that the it is now missing from its pot. The plant pot is a mess. Dirt is scattered all around it. You notice that there is a trail of dirt and leaves leading towards the now open dorm window. You went outside and followed the trail further until it led you to the rooftop of your dormitory complex where you saw that the plant has grown into a young tree. It’s roots firmly rooted to the dormitory concrete, making cracks on the roof. You then asked Roseberry what she knows about the moonlight plant. “I sensed a young feminine soul growing within her... She is unlike anyone or anything back in the pond yet at the same time so familiar...” After staring at awe at the moonlight tree you began to realize that you are pretty much destroying your own dormitory. Especially with the acid spitting baby dragon incident yesterday.

Your clubmates look at each other, then collectively shrug. Frank chuckles. “You’re sure ? I’d feel bad winning 100% of the time.” Cheeky bugger. You end up playing a few games with the boys, to see how the new rules change the power dynamics. You put your confusion spell to good use. After a little while, you pick up a new deck of cards, and leaves the club. Frank waves at you, grinning. “It was fun, come again, man !”

I’ll start doing what I can, but you’ll need to find me some more titanium if you want that many.” You then ask if she needs anything else, but she’s already back to her work, some sort of rapier. You shrug, looks like you’ll need to find titanium if you want more than two axes.

Before creating a hidden spell, you need to learn a nice firebolt spell. You spend some hours on it but finally get it right. You throw your firebolt up in the air but it doesn’t seem to reach as far, but you can see the explosiveness of it as it reaches its end.

You make an attempt to create a Stealth firebolt but it's no use. Fire wants to be seen, it’s the star of the show. When people think about Wizards they think FIREBALLs, not Ice Blocks. You find yourself spending hours of the days trying to perfect the next iteration. By the end of an exhausting afternoon The only progress you’ve made is minorly shifting the flare effect of the spell. Pushing it further from you and closer to the end point. Giving your spell a personal touch. Perhaps a bit more practicing and experimenting with FireBolt will yield better results some other time

After the work on the firebolt, you go and create an interesting fire technique. You use your arms as a basis to create the shape and with some practice, you create a spell that curves as you throw it out. You try it out on dummy area and you can see the damage it deals (other than it burning), that this technique also leaves a deep cut into the dummies

The book feels very warm to your touch yes. The welcoming warmth of fireplace on a snowy day.

This chapter opens with Felipe Ashworth on a boat. Having struck out in the Alaska tundra he decides to make his way to California or "CalY-FourYah" as his roommate would put it. His roommate is an accomplished middle aged sailor named David Masters. Masters is taking his wages back to the states to live the easy life after a life career as a merchant marine. Felipe is sicken with the salt water and the high seas makes him uneasy. His roommate had termed it 'Head Tides' nothing physically wrong with him just don't like the ocean.

The steamboat Felipe had chartered himself is a marvel of traveling. Larger than a football field, and sits as tall as a belltower while in the water. But that's not what impresses him. It's the boiler that powers the steam. Fire is so powerful even to the point of subjugating it's natural foe water. In his frustration, Felipe heads into the belly of the ship. Thinking of the speed of the trip Felipe puts out his hands towards the fire building the steam "FUEGO" and the boat increased its speed within minutes.

It would not be for hours until Masters would be found boiled by excess steam. On a normal maintenance shift Masters opened the boiler to pop in more fuel, but instead was instantly killed by steam boiling his face off.

The chapter ends with Felipe taking Master's life long earnings and departing at San Francisco city

Can you use a little bit of your mana, but flavor it as fire? If my thinking is right, if you release your faith of fire that would work. Just think of a warm bonfire, while lighting a candle. It'll pool in the cup and then I can track it down

You see a contrast between the two girls. When you approach Danielle she seems completely off put with the idea of cooperating. She begins ranting and raving about being in the same room as her for only a few minutes much less an entire mass. She relates the story of how they first crossed paths on the tennis courts only a few weeks ago. She apparently was beginning to serve when Casey deliberately smashed the back of her head with a tennis ball! When Danielle turned around, Casey refused to apologize!

Casey for her part is actually pretty relaxed about the idea of breaking into a Chapel. And no real comment from her about Danielle. Other than that she should learn to chill. It was an accident after all. And Yeah, she's known for being a bully but only when her stuff, or turf, or girls are threatened. Otherwise she's just the sweetest girl, wouldn't you agree?

Cornering the priest in his office, you find him at his desk writing some correspondences. Some of the places on the headers you recognize as important Italian cities, while one is a bit closer to home. You ask your question to the distracted priest, who responses, "Can you call an angel that moves against the Almighty, truly an angel? The term Fallen Angel, denotes a being that was formerly an angel, not a being that is one currently. Perhaps falling to evil is through no fault of the being that does. Would it clear your conscience to consider every evil action you ever perform as being forced on you by circumstances? Ms Yossarian, I am honestly surprised with your interest in fallen angels considering how cutting your previous congregation was towards you based on this subject. Did you forget?"

After a good natured laugh that cuts into your soul, Alexander continues, "If I remember correctly they called you a "Devil Child." Did you deserve that title? Did you eventually gain that title through your evil works? Or do you hope to find justification for future evil actions?" Standing up from his desk, he begins to herd you away. "I must get back to work, Ms Yossarian." Shutting the door on your face, you weren't able to investigate a single thing. Nor did Alex answer any of your questions really about the Midnight Mass. And now you feel even more confused and convicted.

Returning to the strings is a nice change of pace. You release the yoyo, draw it up your finger and cast a small loop in the air. The whizz of the Yoyo is welcomed in the silentness of the Chapel.

The Mass starts with an even weaker turn out. Only a handful of worshipers and your party are present. Not even the attending priest proceeds over the ceremony. There is no commune however when Danielle releases her small flame of praise, the whiff still fall upwards into the air. Your Order Overcoat again allows you to watch the flickering light travel in its arch away from the small congregation into a side corridor. The congregation are so wrapped up in singing hymnals, they don't notice a party of girls slip away.

Approaching the priest's directory, Casey produces a set of lockpicks and sets about fiddling with the door lock tumblers. The small flame of mana slips through the solid door to the other side as you urge Casey's fingers to work faster. Soon enough, the door creaks open revealing not the priest's office, but a long and dark stairway leading much further down than you ever imagined. There's a clear contrast between the warm and comforting Air-Conditioned space you stand, and the freezing chill that spreads from these chambers

Letter after letter you send, and time after time, there is no response. Every day, you wait for the mail like a lonely puppy waiting for its master to come home. Bills, bills, advertisements, spam, a paycheck, military posts, school warnings, newspapers. None of it important, none of it what you are really looking for.

You automatically scan open and read each and everyone much like your medical charts. Bills to be paid, ads for a sale at the local supermarket. Spam for penis pills, rents paid, a request for medical supplies from the local outpost near the woods, “Notice: Beware the woods,” which you already know. And the local dog show in town, of course. Each letter you read brings you further frustration. Where is it? Where is his response? Every single second of your day is consumed with tormented thoughts. Did… did he forget about you? Is he happier without you? Maybe you weren’t even necessary… Just an idle toy for some rich dick. To be used and discarded like tissue paper

And then you see a polaroid fall out of the military post. Fluttering down to the desk. A group of young men in uniform, and there in the middle with a smiling face, Remi.

Jerry’s wife and kids are in the next room over, they’re worried but you know the grim task in front of you. They found the body at his work place. You determined the cause of death was decapitation. Death was instantaneous. As you walk over to the widow and child, they already know they can see it in your eyes. Your tell them is it was mostly painless. Making a point to omit the multiple blood splatters indicating a brutal struggle but the blow that did him in was decisive and complete. Guy was a real dummy taking on that brute.
And then you start thinking. ‘Wait … Why am I practicing medicine on Training dummies? And Why is that one named Jerry? And Why did he have a wife and kids?’

You start out good and then things fall apart. You make through the first rep without much problem and in fact you come out pretty strong. And then you start struggling again. Just like last time Lisa is right there to see you fail. At some point you both get angry. Frustration builds. She's pushing you hard again. You’re resisting. Her fitness mania is taking over again. And then it gets to a breaking point, “Does the girly man need assistance?”

You immediately shoot back with one of the most callous insensitive rebuke you can think of. Then there is the coldness. Lisa immediately leaves the gym. She does not talk to anyone. She does not even change back into her casual clothes. And you swear you see tears rolling down her cheek.

Using a mobile platform you roughly if somewhat infrequently manufacture a new Filtration device on top of spider legs. You leave the locomotion systems to William, and the programmation to Camille. While you’re busy coordinating your team, Devin improves the filtration system with some of his tags. You task Liam with the installation of mana blasters, just in case your creation is attacked. The coffee addict suggests to power the weapons with the purified mana byproducts, as well as a backup mana battery in case it’s attacked before it starts filtering mana. The backup battery is installed under the machine’s belly, and Liam starts hooking the blasters.

You take a quick water break while your group works. When you look around, you find out that you still have enough spare parts and raw materials to create another filtration tank. You go back, and start working on the second unit on the spot, explaining your reasoning to your colleagues. And this time, you make improvements. You make some on the fly modification to the chassis of the machine, making its servos more efficient, as well as thicker armor plating. When seen side by side, the second unit looks a little bulkier. Finally, you make improvements on the filtration system itself. Actually building one helped you pinpoint some problems in the piping system. You make it way more efficient by altering the position of the main pump, and by adding an additional filter.

After four long days of work, you finish the two units with your club. Both Devin and Angelica left at that time. Your team is lying on the floor, exhausted. Even Liam looks positively burnt out after the intense work they’ve been through. You thank them for their support, and they answer with a half-hearted cheer.

They’re tired and not so much saying it, but wishing to start different projects of their own. They signed up for experimentation. Not so much a war factory. Someone wants to start a hydro damming project to interject with ley lines while another is thinking of a giant wind turbine to listen to the Astrological music as played by wind sprites. And still another wants to make a Submarine that can dig into Volcanoes. Anything but another Tank

You will need burn a flower from your garden, and spread the ashes on the trunk of a living tree.

Each step feels like a lifetime of silence between breaths. Casey's sneakers squeak against the paved stone. And Danielle lights the way with her cellphone light. Soon enough you hear a subtle wheeze coming from further down in the darkness. You continue, downwards, continuously downwards, always deeper into the pitch black. Looking over your shoulder, you can barely make out the pinpoint of light that was your entrance into these depths. If you had to time your descent, it might round out to be a thousand heartbeats. But eventually you see a lit chamber before you. Inside you again hear the wheeze of what you recognize as pipes, long since overdue for maintenance. Beneath them are a collection of golden plates used in the Midnight Mass. In the chamber as well you see a weapon rack and armor set, all of which glows with holy blessings.

Casey remarks that the golden plates aren't solid gold. Which is disappointing, but not unexpected. Examining the plates yourself, you sense little pockets within the river bed of the room centered on little rune and sigils pressed into the metal. It's possible that these were the retaining enchantments to absorb the ambient mana within the chapel above.

By asking this you tempt fate and all the powers that be to enter this little scenario and run away with it. Fortunately for you, the sisters of fate aren't cutting your string today. Besides all the enchantments and tass within the chamber, you quiet yourself and your nerves until you pick up what must be a stronger and deeper current. Wandering over to the exposed piping, you feel somewhat overtaken by a spiritual awe. As if you had returned to the Midnight Mass and singing Hallelujah in the Highest. Shooting straight down the pipes breaks through the paved stones.

No wait, that's not true. There's a trap door here with a handle! Lifting up the handle you stare into an abyss. You can't see a damn thing, but it feels like you're on the edge of a deep pit with no escape. Your mind goes strange and weird with a deep sense of dread. There is nothing put oblivion, a great mawl that devours all. You imagine a wild sea in the middle of a storm. Emotions, Thoughts, Memories, all colliding and grinding against each other. All being destroyed beyond recognition and falling out the bottom of the universe. You think you hear a woman's moan. You think you hear the storm boiling below. You think you hear panicked screams. Just before Casey and Danielle pull you back from the brink.

Whether or not [Rogue Casey] has a [Find Secret Doors] ability or not. She goes about checking each nook and cranny within the [Blessing Chamber]. There's nothing under the shelves the golden plates rest on. There's nothing behind the weapon rack or suit of armor. However walking around the archway you passed under to enter the chamber. Casey points out a few stones that seem warm to the touch.

There are four stones in the archway that have runes carved into them. Idly, Casey swipes one of the stones with a faint orange glow. The glow vanishes, as does the small pinpoint of light that reminded you of the safety of the chapel above. The void presses against the empty space left behind.

It seems like just the presence of the crystal vial is enough to suppress your magical instincts. However by with the other girl holding the crystal, you feel the familiar guiding presence comforting your soul. Reminding you of a place of eternal light even in this pitch blackness of the vanished [Dark and Ominous Staircase], which now should be called the [Dark and Ominous Void]. Your hand moves to the archway hovering over each of the [Four Rune Stones] in secession.

The [First Runic Stone] reveals a lobby that seems familiar enough. It isn't exactly your Dorm, but the First Residency Housing. You remember passing through this building as a shortcut traveling to class.

The [Second Runic Stone] reveals a stone worked wall with a metal plaque. There's a heavy scent in the air that makes you flushed with excitement enough to cross yourself unconsciously. You keep your hand still enough over the stone to read the plaque, "By Administrative Action, this tunnel is to be sealed and entrance is to be barred from all students and faculty. Enacted by Principal ---" The name seems to have been rendered unreadable, "Year 1998." Just underneath the dull and rusted metal plaque there's another chiseled message: "SLS LIVES."

The [Third Runic Stone] reveals the starlight hanging over your head as well as wide winged gargoyles in the dim light reflected from below. Your hand rests on this stone the longest and the pale green glow seems to lock into place. The contrast between the darkness of the [Blessing Chamber] and the [Holy Order Chapel Rooftop] is subtle. You feel the cool breeze of the night pass over your cheeks. It's a welcoming breeze.

I go closer to it and try to comfort it down by holding him. I continue to talk and try speaking some modern and ancient draconic on it. It may be a baby, but knows actually knows the language.

The Baby flinches a little as you touch him. But he quickly accepts your touching. He curls around your leg, and as you try to speak old draconic to him.

With you speaking Draconic, he seems confused, runs and hides under Valerie's bed.

The baby is calmer and not spitting acid everywhere so Abby check the room below. The inhabitants are asleep, something was broken. I probably need to fix that.

Abby peeks through the hole on the floor to check what the acid destroyed. She looks at the inhabitants and looks for detail for who he/she might be.

You look through [the hole] but its too dark to see anything. They have blinds covering the window, so no moonlight cant get through.

Slowly, I say "The egg hatched. The baby dragon is under your bed. Don't move too quickly."

I move toward the baby dragon and try holding out my hand hoping that it would know I mean no harm.

You reach under the bed and you try to reach with your hand as you speak Draconic. The Baby comes forward from under the bed. And clings to your scaly leg. You pat its head and he seems to be more friendly. Sure, its still a newborn but it is showing some signs of independence already.
