Seido-no-Shinpi-Tekina-Ken – a mysterious bronze sword given to Ryukusa by the mermaids of Japan; actually found to be the legendary blade Ame-no-Ohabari.

I feel like we need to be careful not to give Kiki too much, since it might get a bit overwhelming.

I wouldn't give the Centipede Blade to Kiki. As much as I love both of them as characters, Kiki is not one to use a shinobi blade yet, and Ame-no-Omukade-no-Musume-sama-chan would not be able to express herself fully with Kiki.

Gently takign her hand you carefully slip the ring off of her figner, must to her confusion. “I want you to ask Fuuta-chan to make you charms. Calling charms, for me, and perhaps for Jinyuu-onee-sama and Er yin-sensei as well, since they can do more from a distance than anyone else.” You carefully place her ring on your right hand, and she watches you with curiosity rather than confusion now.

Slowly you work the ring you have worn for more than two hundred years off, concentrating very carefully on calm, soothing thoughts, silent prayers of tranquility and peace. It rests quietly, thank the Kami, and the Kamuy, and allows you to remove it gently. You kiss it, then kiss Kiki-hime's hand softly, and slowly – carefully! – place the ring on her left hand, replacing her wedding band, the gift she crafted from Akari's mask and blessed by Amaterasu-Omikami herself, upon her finger. “I meant to do this when we were wedded, but I can't think of a better time or reason.” You close your hand over hers and she smiles....until she sees the look on your face.

Your gaze is dead serious, unblinking and you speak very slowly and clearly, just the way you would if you were giving her a gun. “I cannot stress how dangerous this kami is, kasan. It woke in hell, with prayers of hope and the desire to return home every day and every night feeding it. All my desire, all my will, everything I did was to get home to you, and the rest of our family.” She looks at the ring with newfound respect. “It isn't infernal jade, it is only two hundred years old....but it was made by your hands, after being the home of a god, and destroyed by the servant of a heaven, and then traveled through hell with my prayers and need feeding it every step of the way.”

Respect turns to awe, and awe to a measure of fear. Good, that's what you want. “Think of this kami as a gun, Hime-chan. You are the star it is guided by, and if someone tries to harm you, or hurt you....” Taking her delicate hand in both of yours, you keep the tips of your pointer fingers touching it, making it aware that you are right here, with her, safe and home. One deep breath, lightly charged with your Chi and Shen, a soft wind from deep inside you.

”Waken,” you whisper very, very softly.

The patterns and markings on the red jade shift and change twisting ominously and slowly. Kiki-hime watches in fascination as the kami stirs not truly awake, not fully aware, but stirring, feeling your power and her presence together. The kami slowly slips back into slumber, and you look at Kiki-hime seriously; she's a white a sheet and her heart is beating hummingbird fast in her chest. “I say that it is dangerous, kasan....but if the moment comes, and you need it....don't hesitate.. Wake it up.” She stares at you as though you've gone mad. “I mean it.” She nods slowly,awe returning to her expression, and her eyes wide and maybe a little bright. “What?”

“You've been wearing...this....all this time?” Her voice is an awestruck whisper, and the others are gathering around.

And she's making you blush.

well the jade comes from Akari's old mask that was home to the god of the onis then Kiki shaped what was left of the jade after it got destroyed into rings then we got sent to hell for 200 year and in that 200 years it got a new Kami in it.

“I wasn't too worried about that, since I was home, and I had a lot of things to keep me distracted you know! Besides, it';s not nearly as bad as Jinyuu-onee-sama telling me about boys who have as much Jing as I do....” Kiku-chan looks dubious, Yui sneaks a little closer. Kiki-hime looks at you archly.

“Oh really? And what did she say about boys that have as much Jing as you do?”

That earns her a flat stare and a little sarcasm. “Really, Kiki-hime, you're going to share me with all these girls, and it's the mention of a boy that makes you jealous? When have I EVER shown interest in boys?”

“When you write those fanfics,” suggests Yui, as she walks into the room.

There are not enough fuckin' facepalms, seriously.

Kiki-hime dissolves into giggles and Kiku-chan gives you a stoic expression. “Hey, ever since Jinyuu-onee-sama said boys with too much Jing can get other boys pregnant, the stories just wrote themselves, okay!?” Yui blinks and looks at Kiku-chan, who nods solemnly. “And that is so much worse than....well, okay, no it isn't, but give me a break, huh!?” You sigh and pull your hair back, tying it in a simple series of knots. “Besides, if I am the one wearing it, and I know I'm home, it's not as....volatile. Or easily disturbed. As long as Kiki-hime has some of us nearby, it will be fine. Ad if she doesn't, then it's perfectly all right for the ring to wake up and do what should be done.”

Yui starts to ask something but you shoot her a glance and shake your head ever so slightly, forming an image for her in your mind that the Void shows her. She looks a little ill and shakes her head. “Er Yin and Jinyuu-onee-sama say breakfast will be ready soon.”

You rise slowly. “I definitely need the shower right away.” Kiku-chan nods rapidly and you reach over and gently grip her horn. “You should talk, bitsy dragon.” Kiki-hime is giggles manically once more and Yui perks up. “No, just showering!” Your cheeks heat up again. “I'm....ah, not ready for that just yet!” You give the miniature dragonette a firm shake and she gasps, shivering. “Ask her!”

There is more laughter and you mollify the annoyed Fire dragonette with kisses, and join the others in the large bath.

A short while later, after a great deal of laughing, splashing, back-scrubbing and front-scrubbing, breakfast is served. The table has been lengthened to accommodate the guests and allies you've gathered, as well as your family, and once more Kiki-hime proves to be a superb hostess, guiding conversation and keeping everyone occupied between courses and bites. Kaga Kei is subdued, and after breakfast you carefully and casually single her out, taking her apart from the main group of your loved ones and family.

Before you can say anything, she speaks up. “Ryukusa-sama, I am truly sorry. I didn't realize how much the nekomata meant to your family.”

You give her a considered look. “You realize that Yui-niji-chan is incapable of exaggeration, don't you?”

She looks confused.

You look over at Yui, who now towers over an amused Akari – she's taller than Er Yin now, and is once again looking softer, though that is entirely deceptive. Everyone else has noticed, though Kiku-chan doesn't care and Er yin can't tell by sight. Only Shoko is taller than she is, and Akari is mostly amused by the fact that once again, Yui-chan hasn't noticed that she's grown at all.

Which is kind of nice, really.

“Yui-niji-chan can't lie. Or mislead, or exaggerate. She can omit things, but that's as close to a lie as she can come.” Kaga Kei hasn't quite grasped what you are trying to say, and you can't say that you blame her. “It is incredibly lucky that you tried to use your magic on Rie, rather than anyone else.”

Kei-san shakes her head, not quite following. You look at her seriously. “If you had tried it on anyone but Rie-sama, chances are good that I would have stepped in front of Kiki-hime to take any effects in her stead, and Akari-niji-chan would have killed you a heartbeat later. If you had tried it on Kiki-hime, you simply wouldn't have had the heartbeat's grace, and just been dead, probably from multiple directions.” The first sentence is met with doubt, the second worry.

“But she was a youkai....”

“Yes, one that had been invited into my home, and been graced with the help of the kami to be returned to her true state of existence. I can't even imagine why in heaven you would have done such a thing; I realize you were trained, or convinced, to fight youkai. But that wasn't a little cat youkai, but a God's Eye Nekomata. A merciful one, fortunately for you.”

She hesitates and then cautiously asks, “I don't understand....she's a household god here?”

The rather shaken young woman nods slowly and is quickly appropriate by Kiki-hime for tea and some kind of discussion you probably aren't meant to hear. Which is fine – you have work to do.

Part of the issue with dressing for Er Yin is that colors and styles mean less than textures and sounds. Style might matter when she is touching you, but even then it's a matter of textures and fabrics and cuts thereof. So with that in mind, you lay out some slightly different parameters for your outfit.
