You are Ian Miller and today is an important day. Today is the day you make your first repair as owner of Ian's Repair Shop. Unfortunately this very important day has yet to start for one simple reason. Your coffee machine is broken. You argue over whether it's worth being late over coffee, but your pride wins out in the end. After all what sort of repairman could let such a slight go unpunished. With that in mind you whip out your PET and jack in to begin a simple diagnostic. Immediately it is clear something is wrong. Mr Progs are seen running about in a panic and the sounds of pickaxes hitting digital dirt can be heard, the telltale sign of a Mettuar. Speaking of Mettuars you find your partner starring at you, silent like always.

Meet MetMan

>MetMan is a strange navi. He has the build of a stock navi, but wears a bright yellow hard hat and has a black void with eyes for a face. The rest of his body follows suit with bright yellow armoring over a black spandex body. He doesn't speak and rarely acknowledges being spoken too outside of completing his task, but he does seem to move with more vigor whenever he is asked to break something. His origins are a mystery. On his 21st birthday Ian got blackout drunk and the next day he woke up with MetMan in his PET. Some of his friends think MetMan was purchased in a back alley operation, others think he is a strange virus that killed and replace Ian's original navi. Ian himself thinks he just dared his navi to put on a Mettuar mid fight and his navi really got in to the roll.

Whatever his origin may be MetMan still follows your orders as you tell him to search the perimeter. Soon he stumbles across a gaping pit covered in Mettuars. Thinking quickly you

Without a word combat begins

>Welcome to Battle Network Quest! This quest as you might have guessed is based off the Megaman Battle Network series. Combat takes some rules from the games like chip codes and the elemental weakness system. The grid system has seen some changes though. Instead of being a hard limit on your and your opponent's reach it instead defines your chance to hit and to dodge. An enemy with all nine squares has a lot of places to go to get out of the way and a cornered enemy can be picked off at your leisure. You can use as many chips as your codes allow (IE you can us chips followed by the same letter or with the same name, but different letters). If you can not use at least three chips you will automatically use your buster until you have done three actions. For convenience sake chips will mostly come in code A, B or C with the rare * being able to be used with any combination. Some chips will be altered as needed.

On second thought you've always wondered if MetMan had any sort of connection to the average Mettuar and so diplomacy begins. MetMan walks up to the nearest Mettuar and makes eye contact. Seconds tick by as the fierce starring contest continues. It looks like progress is being made when the Mettuar begins standing on one foot and wobbling about. Some sort of celebratory dance perhaps? Unfortunately all progress seems lost when MetMan leans in a little causing the Mettuar to retreat in to its helmet. Seemingly confused or maybe judgementally MetMan begins starring at you. After way too much eye contact you let out a bemused sigh. Looks like it's time to bust some viruses. As MetMan takes a combat stance the other two Mettuars take notice and rush over, intent on helping their brother.

You slot in crackshot and MetMan immediately gets to work tearing the floor out from under the hiding virus and sending him flying off in to the distance. Outraged one of the remaining Mettuars shoves his pickaxe into the ground creating a shockwave that you dodge effortlessly. Next comes your trusted friend BushidoMan. The world seems to darken a little bit as the samurai navi appears in front of the Mettuar that attacked and cuts it in half with practised efficiency and manages to take his twin with the follow up. The only thing that remains of the viruses is a stack of 500z and a hole that should keep the Mr Progs buisy for a little while.

You compliment MetMan as you jack out and beam at having fixed your coffee machine so fast. Guess that makes you your own first client. Speaking of clients yours awaits. As you get in your car you notice two emails in your PET. The first is from your friend Meera saying "Good luck on your first day!" The second from your friend Sarah saying "Who said you could work? Get back in my Kitchen!" Two wildly different sentences with the same meaning. With that done and you being only slightly late you head off to your first job. You've never really met your client before. You think you might have went to the same school as him. You might have even been in the same class, but honestly you're not sure. Not many people can claim to know Leon Williams. He seems to have a certain lack of presence that makes him almost impossible to remember. As you pull up to his house you notice him outside waiting for you. At first Leon seems to be around your height but, at second glance has a slouch that indicates he is probably much taller. He is pale with black hair and seems more than a bit uncomfortable in direct sunlight. He perks up when he notices you and he seems a bit impatient as you are getting out of your van.

"Your late" is all he says before turning around and walking back in to his house.

"Sorry" you reply. You try not to look put out by seemingly offending your first client as you march in to his house.

"So are you any good" he asks accusation thick in his voice.

"Well with this here wrench I can fix just about anything and anything it can't my navi can." you say with a little bit of pride welling up in your chest.

"We'll see" is all he says before continuing on to what appears to be his boiler room. "Well here we are. Can you handle everything from here?"

>Yes sir you say before checking the pipes.
>Yes sir you say before jacking in and running a diagnostic.

You jack in and as always you are greeted by the ever starring face of MetMan. Once you wrench your eyes from his you almost think your PET is malfunctioning. What you thought was white static turns out to be steam. You apologize to MetMan for the heat and with seemingly nothing else to do you begin wandering in a random direction. First order of business find a Mr Prog and ask it what the hell is going on.

Before you can say anything he lets out a "found ya" and battle begins

Wanting to limit the massive beast's options you start with an areagrab. He retaliates with a cannon that whiffs by you with a loud roar. Starting to feel a bit cautious you raise a barrier only to have him let out another shit with his cannon that once again completely misses the mark. Finally you go on the offensive summoning BushidoMan who arrives from out of nowhere to deliver a slash to the mighty Wendigo. At first it looks like the Wendigo successfully parried his strike but BushidoMan manages to get him on the back swing. WendigoMan's tries to get a retaliatory punch but it is a pathetic display.

Feeling confident from your earlier success you let out a crackshot hoping to further limit his options. It beams him in the head leaving him to let out a frustrated howl. In response WendigoMan lets out a rather wimpy looking shot that still manages to take down your barrier. You guess he just wanted to get rid of a Copydamage. With nothing left to do you go to your old stand bye of letting off charged shots the first one solidly connects, but the second misses the mark. Enraged WendigoMan begins to try and maul you missing with both his first and second strikes.

The areagrab fades leaving you back in your own nine squares. With the thought of a flawless victory on your mind you tell MetMan to leave himself open as you prepare to slot in a reflector. WendigoMan throws what looks like a bomb. It lands in the middle of your territory and water comes rushing out. Unfortunately by the time you saw that you had already slotted in your reflector, now wasted on a waterseed. Not letting it get to you you use cannon c and it hits WendigoMan right in the chest making him flinch, but not before he gets of an energybomb. Weighed down by the water you are too slow to react. Both the bomb and its explosive aftershock hit you washing away any chance you had for a perfect. A little downtrodden you let out one last charged shot which finishes off WendigoMan. In the distance you hear a cry of bullshit as WendigoMan logs out. You are barely through jacking out when you find yourself face to face with your client.

"Is everything ok sir" you ask trying to ignore the look he is giving you.

He takes a moment to calm down before saying "Yeah yeah everything is ok. Though I would have preferred it if you lost."

"So that was your navi I take it? Why go through all this trouble and money I might add to have a net battle" you reply feeling a bit annoyed

"You are a repairman right? That means you have to be good at virus busting. I just wanted a shot at a pro before I entered the DenCity Tournament coming up next month. Looks like I have a long way to go I barely laid a finger on you. Look it wasn't a complete waste of time I'll still pay you. You decide to take WendigoMan A and forgive Leon by offering a hand shake. He gladly accepts thankful you aren't too sore about his deception. The rest of your jobs for the day aren't anywhere near as eventful and soon you find yourself finishing your first day on the job. You head over to your usual meeting spot and find your friends waiting for you.

First is Meera Ha. Meera is often the level headed voice of reason of whatever group she is in. She has a job as an official net battler and does her best to to act calm and mature as befitting her position. For all her work to remain above it all her net navi tends to ruin any impression she left by acting like a cartoon character. More than once some one has caught her playing along with her navi when she thought she was alone. Meera is 6'0 with long black hair, green eyes and an average build.

Next is Sarah Sterling. Sarah is adventurous and bold. She spends much of her time on the more dangerous side of the web fighting dangerous viruses and skilled navis alike. Sarah thrives on competition and often turns even the simplest tasks in to a bet or wager. Her prized possession is her net navi that she won in a fighting game tournament and she values his opinion above all others. She is 5'8 with red hair, brown eyes and a curvy build.

"So how was your day" asks Meera

"Did anything cool happen" adds Sarah

"Well nothing much happened outside of some small fry virus busting. Though I did get to fight a new Navi"

"Did ya win" asks Sarah

"Of course. It was almost a perfect too"

"Nice" replies Sarah "I barely got any action"

"You could always fight BushidoMan if your bored" Says Meera

"No no no I'm tired of his murderboner for my dear sweet PalletMan. They've fought enough his honor should be sated for now."

"Well the offers always open. Speaking of navis what about MetMan" asks Meera

"What about MetMan" you ask somewhat defensively

"What she means is when are you going to get rid of that creep. Your in the biz now you need an industrial strength navi. At least get one that talks or blinks" Sarah adds

Also, we're not sure if it also needs to be like the anime where we need a high sync rate with our Navi to pull off.

In most cases you'll be able to log out just before deletion. If for some reason you can't the quest will continue with a new navi.

"Lets go" is all you say before you and your friends jack in to the nearest terminal. Within seconds your screen shows three navis standing in a circle. The first being MetMan of course while the other two are the samurai navi BushidoMan and the ninja navi PalletMan the two of whom already seem to be getting in to an argument.

"I saw your hands going toward my blade. Planning to disarm me before our duel foul knave" Accuses BushidoMan.

"For the last time there is no duel and my hands were no where near you. Now lets go I'm supposed to show you where this new area is" Replies a frustrated PalletMan.

As you all begin to leave BushidoMan leans over and whispers "Be careful my trusty retainer. I fear that scoundrel might be leading us in to an ambush" MetMan gives him a long understanding or perhaps annoyed stare before continuing on.

The journey takes a while. PalletMan leads you through the public square into some random people's home pages (locked of course) and past the websites for some old children's movies before you finally arrive. Honestly you are a little amazed she managed to find a place so out of the way and more than a little curious why she was invading those people's privacy. Still you bury those feelings as you look around the area. It's obviously the site for a coffee shop with cups of the stuff littered everywhere. It's also clear its not officially open yet because of all the branching paths that seem to lead nowhere. You all promise to meet up at the entrance in half an hour and go your separate ways

BushidoMan arrives in an instant taking a moment to center himself before drawing his sword and lunging at the two Champys. Both fall evenly in half and BushidoMan leaves with an exaggerated thumbs up. Before you can even think of responding the Chumpy is on you with a vengeance throwing two punches you narrowly manage to avoid. You leave him with two parting shots, but only one hits managing to slightly stagger him.

The Chumpy is on you again, but this time you are prepared. Only a moment before his fist connects you slot in reflector and watch it blow him apart. With Chumpy on his last legs MetMan takes aim with his cannon and fires. Unfortunately Chumpy isn't out of this yet and manages to dodge the shot. Still you were prepared for this and with one more reflector you end him.

Three down you smirk as the battle scene fades. Your smirk dims when you see the remaining viruses. Three down and way too many to go. Fortunately you hear you hear the voices of your friends navis nearby. In the real world you hear a cry of "Holly shit" from Sarah as PalletMan and BushidoMan arrive on the scene. Your three navis prepare for a fight when something begins to happen. All the Champys and Chumpys begin to break down into code. The code begins as a huge cloud but quickly begins to filter into a giant tendril. Before Meera can react the tendril lashes at BushidoMan and begins to infect him. Slowly his armor strips off leaving a bare navi that is soon replaced with a navi Champy hybrid. Within an instant ChampMan is upon you and battle begins anew.

Thinking fast you summon PalletMan in to the arena. He swaps between colors until he reaches blue and jets of water spew from both his busters flattening ChampMan and dealing a significant blow. ChampMan leaps back up and the screen begins to darken. You try to move MetMan but, he appears rooted in place for the first you think you might actually be feeling fear radiate from him. A B C flashes across the screen as a cannon forms around ChampMan's hand. A massive explosion roars from the cannon and meets... a reflector activated just in time. The reflector breaks apart little by little until it is overwhelmed leaving MetMan to be hit by a greatly diminished blast. ChampMan advances on MetMan while he's down but, MetMan manages to get off a good few shots damaging him and forcing him to back off.

Fearing for MetMan's safety and wanting to bide your time you slot in barrier. ChampMan's buster erupts into a line of flames stripping you of your barrier instantly. You try to retaliate with some buster shots, but they are obscured by the flame. Still you hear one connect and once again the screen darkens, but this time its different. You see the outline of a navi form in the darkness. In a flash the screen gets lit up with fire, water, electricity and earth engulfing MetMan and nearly blinding you. When you look back to the screen you see MetMan slumped on to the ground and the mysterious navi gone with the flash. ChampMan stands still looking guarded.

You smile as you pull the chip from you folder. You slot the chips in slowly and watch as MetMan comes to realize whats going on. You'd think hes at full health the way he leaps up and takes aim waiting impatiently for his arm to turn in to a cannon. The screen dims and A B C flashes across the screen. It's time to end this you think as light envelopes the screen and a loud roar emits from your speakers. When the light fades there is nothing left of ChampMan except a pile of steam and code. Unfortunately for you that code doesn't seem to be getting smaller and actually swells up to be as massive as before. Without warning or time to react the code once again forms a tendril and lashes out, this time at MetMan. Where BushidoMan tried to reject the code MetMan embraces it and slowly changes in to another ChampMan.

You look on in horror at the change only to realize that this ChampMan doesn't attack like the original one did. This ChampMan just stands and waits starring at you all the while. After a minute of starring you command him to go to the left. He complies with no hesitation. You command him to the right and the same thing happens. Deciding to experiment you tell him to turn back in to MetMan and once again he complies. It looks like MetMan has a new ability.

An hour later you and your friends are back at your meeting spot waiting to discuss what just happened.

"What the fuck" starts Sarah, to the point as always.

"Hows BushidoMan" you say concern evident in your voice.

"He's being backed up as we speak, but more importantly how did you find that place and why was an under construction page already so infected with viruses" says Meera

"I don't know I was just exploring as usual when I happened upon. Nothing looked off at the time I swear" Sarah says a little defensive.

"So I dunno about you guys, but I'm kind of scared of MetMan now." you say hoping he can't hear you.

"Now? Your only scared of him now? I told you he killed and ate your original navi but, no you thought he was just play acting" Sarah responds feigning annoyance.

"Still it's weird that MetMan didn't lose himself like BushidoMan did." Meera says.

"Thats because there's nothing to lose" ads Sarah.

"Be that is it may it's still worrisome. Does it mean MetMan really is a virus shaped like a navi or is he just some sort of special navi and what about that massive cloud of data? Did it appear because of the area we were in or because of MetMan's presence" asks Meera.

"I guess all I can do is keep an eye on him" you say somewhat defeated. "Now if you'll excuse me I'll be off to spend my earnings" you say as you jack in and send MetMan to the closest vendor. The navi at the counter greets you and brings up their menu.

But anon then you couldn't Giga Cannon. You do want to Giga Cannon right?
>>
>>1312323
I used to play competitive and do no-HP-memory runs. I'm something of a MMBN autist.

Anyways, tricode means we have three codes in our folder that aren't *. This is bad because if we get A B C A B then we can only use two chips.
Monocode means we'd have one code in our folder that isn't *. We'd be able to use five chips every draw unless we were saving PA components.
Chips are how you make shit happen, so 5 is better than 2. So much better in fact, that it's worth having chips half as good individually if it lets you make a monocode folder.
>>
>>1312339
Gigacannon means having cannons in the folder.
Cannons suck hot ass, because they're way too slow and the damage is generally outstripped by even the first virus chip drops. Anything that locks you in place had damn well better be able to score at least a double delete.

Who the FUCK goes over the damn minimum? Seriously, what the shit + three shits because fuck you you deserve the extra you shoved in yourself. CON SIST ANCY. FUCKING KEY. You think all our shit is just as good as all our other shit? Hell no, or we'd just call it Cannon C and die to fucking Mr Progs with spicy dialog. Some of our shit is better than other shit, and we're folder designing so we can get the best shit and the fastest shit. When we've got more shit in the shitter, that means the chance of getting the shit we need right fucking now is LOWER. LOWER IS BAD. So we put as little shit in as we can, and we make it the best shit, and we make it all the same code so we can use all our shit, and we blow through this bitch in three turns and S-rank all the mofos. But if we bloat this shit to 18 shits, then we'll take another turn to get lifefuckingshit or gigashit or whatever it is that'll win RIGHT NOW because we wanted to have more shit in instead of winning shit.

Seems like the thread is winding down so I'm going to call it a night.

Question how do you guys feel about the small virus fights? Are they a waste of time or are they nice pacing? Should virus fights be harder or more plentiful? Also I forgot to give you guys a reward for those Champys so lets give you another 1000z bringing you up to 3000z.

Not gonna replace copy damage with Wenigo or literally anything else?
I'm learning lots about folders though. Never once looked at it like that ranty guy, he cool. If I ever play a BN or SF game sgain, I'll try to do some of that neat shit.
>>
>>1313088
Ooh yeah I forgot to add WendigoMan. No one voted to get rid of copydamage so he replaces PalletMan.
>>1312965
>>
>>1313088
Funny thing is that I'm basically out of rants now. I mean, there's a bunch of things I'd get on a guy's case about with the actual game, but they're related to movement and timing and when to use chips as opposed to the buster. None of that is particularly relevant here. All I can really get uppity about is folder design, I've covered one of the Three Big Points, and the second and third aren't relevant quite yet.

I dunno, maybe we'll pick up a navicust and I can yell about that.
>>
>>1313278
the only clear memory I have of BN is that I couldn't figure out how to use the damn varsword
>>
>>1313612
You gotta be fast.
It's pretty easy once you get used to it, or any of the other input commands, though. 's the same input series every time, so it pretty quickly becomes muscle memory. Also helps that it's hard to be too fast.

Though that's another rant, of the less educational variety. I switched from a GBA to a GBASP partway through MMBN 4, and it turns out that for god knows what reason the d-pad on the SP I had couldn't handle the input speeds I was used to. Wound up getting me killed a few dozen times because I'd hammer in a two-step dodge and it'd only register the first input. I ditched it and went back to the GBA, but it soured me on folding portables so hard I skipped the DS entirely.

Say what you like but he's been with us for quite a while now and been nothing but good to us.
Throw in some reflective Mettaur like abilities and a bit more of a personality (though ideally not as cowardly) like they sometimes have in the later games and I think we'd do well.

What I'm thinking is basically a utility Navi with some voodoo doll/attack reflecting properties.
Or moving into lesser known bots like Eddie's schtick for a "stop hitting yourself" Support Navi that can maybe put down some mediocre attacks, but makes up for lack of punch by throwing A LOT of punches.
>>
>>1313232
This should have been probably asked a lot sooner but when do you plan on running the quest normally?
>>1316386
he's probably never gonna develop a personality. Also way to defensive for what I like.
>>
>>1316397
Doesn't have to go that way but even just picking up malware forms like Champman, Metman has a lot of potential to be utterly amazing, if bizarre if that's your main concern.

Case in point he's a thing with abilities and form shifting MegaMan probably couldn't copy.
>>
>>1316436
Honestly, rather than the Double Soul of BN it's more reminiscent of A-Trans from ZX Advent which in itself is an allusion to Axl.
>>
>>1316436
I'll admit that the virus stuff is a little interesting, however so far Metman has the emotional depth and role as a gun. He's a tool with no emotions so far, and I doubt there's room for growth in that department. There's nothing going on in his head so far.
>>
>>1316452
I wouldn't know much about that, I never got real far in that game.
>>1316454
Maybe he's just crap at expressing himself and will learn to personality over time like some kind of not-a-dick malware tabula rasa that's shaped by it's experiences.

I say give it a while, Navi shops won't suddenly stop existing just because we give him a chance.
>>
>>1316454
So, your only reason for complaining is about his personality? lol If we get a navi you didn't want then it will be the same complaints.
"Waah! I don't like his personality!!!!!"
>>
>>1316488
I'm not complaining about something he doesn't have, I'm complaining about the fact he doesn't have one. Something is better than nothing.

Ooh yeah your on your way to fix a greenhouse. It doesn't take long for you to reach your destination, but it does take a while for them to answer their door. In front of you stands Markus Stedman local botanist and vegetable junkie. He stands at 6'0 with brown disheveled hair and green eyes with an average build.

"Welcome! You must be the repairman. Can I get you something to eat? A smoothie maybe" He says full of enthusiasm.

"No thanks I'd like to get straight to work" you say politely

"Of course! Right this way. Though after a few minutes out there I think you'll wish you took me up on that drink" he says as he shows you out back. "Here she is chocked full of all kinds of greenery that is unfortunately way to hot at the moment. You can jack in right here" he say pointing at a small port on the inside of the greenhouse.

"Thanks. So have you taken a look yourself" you say hoping to get some information on the digital world inside.

"Yeah me and ShrubMan took a look inside. Its completely full of viruses. We would have taken care of it ourselves, but we don't like virus busting. I'd honestly let them be if the heat wouldn't kill all my plants."

Well that wasn't too helpful you think as you jack in. Soon you are greeted by a grassy field with four massive trees growing out of the ground and fruits and vegetables flying around in the background. You see a rustling in one of the trees and you

The dent in the tree is massive while MetMan miraculously remains unharmed. the tree rattles for a little bit until two Shrubby and a Bombcorn fall out.

You immediately slot in an area grab to give yourself an edge just before the first Shrubby acts. Two logs come barreling at you, but you dance around them no problem. Taking advantage you strike out with WendigoMan hitting them all and lowering their accuracy. The next shrubby also lets out a salvo of logs which manage to completely miss the mark. You decide to let out a Machinegun which manages to land two hits on the closest Shrubby. The Bombcorn throws out its arsenal of corn making a direct hit on MetMan. Moving fast you slot in a sword and try to cut in to the damaged Shrubby landing you a solid blow and deleting it. You tell MetMan to change and watch as his armor melts off and is replace with a burning boxing uniform heralding the arrival of ChampMan.

Your first action as ChampMan is to lay down a crack shot. The tile in front of you is ripped from the ground and seems to be on track until the last second when the Shrubby manages to dodge. Outraged the Shrubby once again lets out two logs but they both manage to fall in to the crack and go plummeting in to the void. You decide to summon BushidoMan and he quickly gets to work attacking the Shrubby and Bombcorn almost instantaneously heavily weakening them both. The Bombcorn makes an attempt at suppressive but fails spectacularly. You let out a charged shot and a ball of fire hits the lone Shrubby sending it up in flames and out of the fight.

Deciding to go on the defensive you slot in barrier and recover 50. Bombcorn tries to fight you off with another volley, but misses the mark entirely. You decide to go with a charged shot and let loose a fireball that nails it dead center. It's on its last legs but the blaze seems to have had some unintended consequences. Burning popcorn flies off forming fireballs in mid air. Fortunately for you none of them manage to come close. Wanting to end this before any more damage can be done you take aim and fire causing an inferno that is soon put out.

As the battle fades you see a chip on the ground for Cornshot1 A and notice another rustling in another tree. This time you decide to

>Play it safe and take aim (Will change back to MetMan to not burn the tree down)

I haven't played Megaman beyond when I was a kid, so I'm not too sure about the meta the game runs on. However, more loot sounds useful, and we could use the experience.

>>1321898
Since you said that your complaint was that Metman lacks a personality, why not ask the QM if we could take a side-quest to learn more about Metman's origins and get him a personality in the process instead of trying to sabotage the quest? It’s not like Metman would vocalize any complaints anyways.

Ok first thing's first you need some breathing room. With that in mind you slot in areagrab. The closest Shrubby sends out two logs one of which hits and the other rolls past you and right in to the Honey Bomber. You retaliate with a longsword cutting right through both Shrubby and leaving you alone with the Honey Bomber. The honey bomber lets out three swarm of bees fortunately only one manages to connect. You cut the Honey Bomber clean in half and watch the explosion both halves make. As the battle fades you notice they left behind another battle chip Rollinglog1 B. As you take it all in you are relieved to see no more rustling in the trees. Giving the area a once over you find another 500z and nothing else officially giving the greenhouse an all clear. You jack out, take in the now cool and refreshing air and head back to your employer.

"So every things ok then" He asks relief clear in his voice.

"Yep those viruses were no match for me and MetMan" you say with a hint of pride in your voice.

"Thanks. I'm just sad those viruses had to become fertilizer. Still you did a good job here's your reward" he says as he transfers over 3500z

With that out of the way you both exchange goodbyes and he sees you to the door. As you get in the car you decide your next destination.

MetMan stares at you for a good minute before approaching the board. He starts writing, but quickly stops. It looks like he's fighting himself as he forces his body to continue. Eventually he stops though conflict is still evident in his body language. You check the latest response to find "Help me! Help me! I'm fading and I can't even scream!" Quickly you look back to MetMan and see him go slack. Whatever possessed him to write that is clearly gone and you don't think you'll get any more out of him. You shiver as you look at him. Normally you can attribute any emotion you want to his blank stare, but now the nothingness is haunting.

Save the chips for a Navi doctor/debugger for MetMan, if those exist? I'd rather focus on making sure he doesn't suffer a fate worse than deletion before we spend anything on him.

Good point.
Changing to this.

Placing my vote for
Purchase two each of Sword A, Widesword A, and Longsword A
Put them into the folder, removing ALL B and C code chips.

I just like him because he is fairly unique as Navis go.
I couldn't care less that you don't like him, so I figure upgrading the underlying program to actually contain and utilize malware code is the way to go to both help him and create a pretty kick ass Navi in the process.

Literally passed out and missed thread. Noice.

>Plot Twist: The help was being written by the virus. MetMan is and always will be the silent videogame protagonist.

Perhaps we can sequence the data like it's DNA. Starting by slowly extracting data. Basic Navi code, ChampMan, and then move onto virus data.

So the viruses in MetMan could be literally more talkative than the original Navi is? I'd be surprised.
I was thinking we do the operation in an isolated, offline network before we do something that accidentally infects the entire network in the process. Ideally a virtual machine within said network. Upgrade MetMan with a sandbox or virtualization feature to dump all the virus code into a contained data section of his program, so he could access the virus forms without corrupting himself in the process.

Sort of difficult to come to a good conclusion, since we don't have OOC access to information that Ian would have. Namely, did MetMan's personality and mannerisms change when he became MetMan, or was he always stoic and silent?
>>
>>1323924
I would assume not. I'm pretty sure people like their navi's sentient.

As in I assume he wasn't always like this.
