I thought this would be #116 but someone pointed out i got the numbers wrong again, so its 115 instead.

As usual, let me know when you are here, guys.

"It got eaten..." -says Portia with a sigh as the probe is destroyed shortly after being swallowed by the gigantic [ERROR]

Lyann holds and gently caresses our adopted little sister's hand, calming her down while looking towards us for help.

"That's alright." -we say calmly- "As it is, it will probably be weeks before we make even a dent on the data we got from it. This is a historical achievement."
"It is, it is." -reinforces Dawn as she pulls over a chair for us

She even added a 'Project Director' label to it, how nice of her!

"In the future, this will be remembered as the day we started fighting back. They will look back at us with awe."
"They will, they will." - repeats Dawn with a smile as she holds the chair for us

PPPFFFFFFTTTTTH!

There's a loud and clear farting noise coming from our seat once we lower our behind unto the pillow, and the strawberry succubus smirks and tries her best not to laugh.

"First man on the fart cushion! Historic!" -she says as seriously as she can, while pouring herself some tea, with somewhat trembling hands

Well, it made Portia laugh, so it's alright.... it's alright...

After the probe gets destroyed, its when the bulk of the work starts. Now we need to study all the data, from how much strenght did it take for the shields to finally collapse to the atmosphere (or lack of) in the other side of the rift, as well as designing a new propulsion system that can take better advantage of the directional gravity present in that world/dimension.

Uhm.. it really is a lot of work. Thankfully, we are not alone on it. Let's send a copy of everything to Asmund and another to Okaba... well, since its just too much data, we'll need to [Treestride] with a physical copy.

We really need those Fax Machines to be up and running soon...

Anyway, for now lets...

After organizing the groups to analyze the data, we get a copy and give it to Dawn so she can deliver it to her brother.

Well, we expected to hand a copy to Kya as well, but she explains that her brother has those jungle faeries we wished to study waiting for us, so we may as well deliver the data ourselves while picking them up.

Agreeing to it, we decide to send word of it and go in the morning... after all, it's already well past sunset, and anything resembling proper visiting hours.,, or that was our intention, but our friends are understandable curious about the results of the probe launch, and once we explain things over our [Linked Journal]

"There is no problem" -he writes to us.- "I'll have a room arranged for you, so feel free to spend the night here."

Well, in that case... knowing our friend, he will probably get to work on it right away... well, even if we don't use the room he offers us, it just means we can give him a copy of the data and pick up the faeries right away, so it's fine.

>>>Stay the night over, looking over the data with our friend.

We write to Okaba confirming that we are on our way, and that will soon arrive at the base of the palace garden's trees, as it is a row of trees that are clear on our memory, and thus easy to aim for with our [Treestride].

"You are not going to stay up all night, right?" - Lyann chides us gently from the side as she hugs us, pressing on our back and supporting her pretty head on our left shoulder- "Your mom asked me to take care of you, you know?"

Ah... we can actually see either of our moms saying that... yeah.

"Not the whole night..." -we lie while looking away from her
"You are so bad at lying to me. I love you." -she says before kissing our cheek.- "Please try and get some rest, alright?"
"Fiiiine."

And so, we [Treestride] over to Heven's palace-over-the-clouds, appearing in the gardens on the lowest level of the palace (which still happen to be high up enough that we can see clouds like islands far beneath us if we look down the edge of the gardens).

As usual, there's no fences anywhere... its easy to understand that neither succubus nor majin would be afraid of heights, but the human workers and officers are a different matter, right?

Well, since a group of human guards are calmly patrolling along the walkways along the edges of the gardens without worrying over the height, I guess that's not the case... humans can get used to the most amazing things, really.

Oh, there's three succubus in the patrol squad... well, Aura has martial interests as her personal obsession, so I guess it's not strange for others of her kind to have similar interests.

Looking the other direction, we can see Okaba heading towards us with Aura and a new succubus in tow. He's wearing simple, light pants in bright blue, with long sleeves in a matching color, that are secured to a couple of bracelets high on his upper arms.

It seems as if the majin have a tendency to go barefoot in their own territory, but our friend is currently wearing comfortable-looking black footwear for some reason.

Behind him, Aura looks really nice with a open, flowing robe, with a pair of small purple panties on her hips for a bit of modesty, and a thin gold sash wrapped around her waist to keep the robe from flying open behind her as she walks. The new girl next to her is dressed similarly, albeit her milk-white skin stands out a lot next to Aura's bright blue, and her robe is a pale pink, giving her an impression of softness.

Hn, you can really tell how relaxed they all are when at home, since it was impossible to see Aura without at least some armor and a weapon when we were studying together in Albion.

"My friend, welcome!" - Okaba greets us with a polite nod of the head.

Well, he's the king here, so this is about as polite as he can act in public towards a visitor.

We exchange greetings, and he receives a heavy pack of documents, containing copies of everything we got from the probe.

Aura smiles and bows deeply for a moment. Ah, that's pretty dangerous, you know!? Various things are peeking from right behind the edges of your robe! Various things! Two things, in fact!

"Sir Eldric, it's nice having you visit." -she says- "Please don't wait until you have as heavy a reason to do so in the future, alright? My lord and I are quite fond of you, so please just drop by any time you feel like it." -she says, then she straightens up

"This is Lux." -she gestures towards the slightly younger succubus next to her- "She will be your assistant for the lenght of your stay. Her special interests revolve around astronomy, so even if it is not directly relevant to your research, please rely on her to quickly run any calculations you need of her."

The milky-white succubus bows politely. Ah, this is bad, various things are in plain sight now, you know!?

Well, I guess they don't really mind, but we mind, you know!?

"Please make use of me any time you need to." -she says with a honest, earnest expression that reeks of seriousness.

Uh... who knew common had such nice phrases on it... we'll make sure to teach it to Lyann and all the pets. Yup.

"I'll be in your care." - we reply

"Let's go inside and take a look at this." -says Okaba as he holds the stacks of documents with both hands, looking at them with pure desire shining in his eyes.

Hey, that's bad, you know? I mean, you have Aura waiting on you hand and foot, day and night, right? Don't tell me you still haven't.... nah. No way

I think

We walk with him into the palace, and talk about the probe launch and first impressions of the [ERROR]s dimension/world.

"Directional gravity sounds quite convenient. Rather than wings, maybe a simple ballast of some highly dense material would be better, then?" - he suggests while peeking at the documents
"Your highness, please look which way you are going." - Aura chides him gently as she steers him so he doesn't clash unto a pillar

Ah, their relationship is pretty much the same, it seems...

---uh, Lux is giving them some interesting smiles as she watches them.

She notices us look at them, and smiles back at us.

"Sir Eldric, were there any immediately outstanding details about that worl'd sky? Was the day appropiate for stars to be seen, was there any familiar constellation in sight?" - she asks with obious interest
"Ah, sadly, it was mostly a void...? We haven't even studied the data on the atmospheric composition yet."
"What about their sun? suns?"
"There was mostly darkness, with a beam of reddish light in the distance... maybe it was more akin to a pillar. It was brighter towards the center."

Lux is obviously interested, and we can 'see' her taking mental notes about everything we say.

actually how's this pic in --> >>1296886 for Lux, considering the white skin?

***

Her heart-tipped tail wags slowly to left and right as she hears our description of the area beyond the portal.

Uh... pheromones, pheromones! Succubus tails exhude pheromones by the truckload whenever they're excited, so it's a good thing we are in an open hallway. I guess mostly everyone here is used to it, but we can tell our child is having trouble with our pants.

"Aura, can you please secure some food and beverages? We'll be at the fourth floor's library, going over these documents." - Okaba sends Aura to secure some food, then guides us to the aforementioned library.

It is technically a library, I guess, but calling it a laboratory would be much more accurate.

Dozens of different tools rest on shelves or over solid desks. There's a round table surrounded by comfortably ergonomic-looking seats without backs... which I guess makes sense taking into consideration mostly everyone here has wings, and many have tails that would get in the way of regular chairs.

"Would you prefer a regular chair?" - Okaba asks us while gesturing Lux to fetch one.
"That won't be neccessary, thank you." -we assure him.

Lux comes back with a chair (with a tall back) for us, and buttons up her jacket after tying up her hair into a loose bum over her head... oh, now that its buttoned up, we can see it is a lab robe, covering her pretty much from the top of her neck down to her thighs.

Anyway, by the time Aura comes in with some food and drinks, we are all going over the data, trying to identify the elements in the [ERROR]s atmosphere.

To begin with, its very los in oxygen. Very, very low, to the point we cannot breathe it, and it is surprisingly high in acidic compouncs, so if the probe hadnt been protected with the shields, it would have melted in a few minutes.

Of course, the sensors would have malfunctioned almost instantly.

"I am worried about the abductees." -says Okaba as he goes through the list of elements in the atmosphere again
"An acid-based atmosphere would imply a wildly different physionomy, do you think that's related to how bioelectric their bodies are, your highness?" - apparently, Lux has been reading our info prior to this meeting. I guess she's helping Okaba's research
"Uhm... Eldric, what do you think?"

Aura is quietly sitting next to the entrance, fetching any books or tools that Okaba needs.

Since some of the tools and samples look somewhat dangerous, she too has closed her robe... yeah its definitively a lab robe, or work clothes disguised as a much more flashy and harem-like piece of 'clothing'

Do we know if the atmosphere here is of the same composition or near same as irl, as oxygen is also harmfull even if our bodies need it.

yes, which is why they adbuct people to reproduce them (poorly) and use them as troops, remember? They cant come to our world themselves.

"I see. In that case, it seems as if their hybrid troops missing the abilities of the original is probably an error in their compatibility. Do you think it is possible they don't understand our biology well enough?" - muses Okaba, out loud
"Maybe they understand it, but don't care. They have attempted mass abductions, right? In that case, it may be a 'quantity vs quality' issue for them," -we add
"That's not a luxury we have... let's begin working on a way to endure their atmosphere... "

Glassteel

We show a glasteel blade to our friend, and he picks it up with interest.

"I'd like a ingot, to have it go through stress tests. I don't want to break your sword, and that's what stress tests are all about, after all. Finding out what takes to break something." - says our friend after a while
"You think we can use this for the probe, then?"
"Uhm? Oh, of course. If we are making something specced for falling quickly in a direction, I already have an idea in mind with moving weights. Very simple, really. Plus, since this stuff is transparent, we can build a completely round shell all around a probe with nothing but visual sensors."
"Or have small orifices right on top of chemical sensors." - adds Aura, reminding us that despite her 'hobby' being martial arts, she's still very, very smart- "Will need to design better sensors, however. I am quite sure this data must be wrong to some great extent."
"What, why!?"
"Well, the sensors were submerged in acid, right? That should explain itself." -she arguments

Well... yeah, I guess. A sensor dipped in acid must obiously start malfunctioning right away. We should have thought of that before.

Ugh... we'll need to find a way to build acid-proof sensors, but if we go with out original plan to build armor around them, we would be isolating them from the enviroment, unless we find a way to make that shield transparent but only enough that a few samples can make it through... it seems needlessly complicated.

>Stick to that idea. We need as much shielding as we can on the probes to get as much data as possible.
>Go the other way around. No shielding, cheapest probes we can craft, then spam them to get data from as many of them as we can before they are destroyed. A spray and pray solution

Well, it makes sense to subject a new material to as many stress tests as possible before deciding on its quality, I guess, so let's see.. we have 5 ingots of it. I think it's fine to hand all five to Okaba.

Yup. Probably

"I see. With these, I can run a larger number of tests..." -he says as he accepts the ingots.

While I say he accepts them, its not as if he holds them in his hands. We properly placed them on the table, you know?

"This should take a while, though, so shouldn't you retreat to bed for the night, my lord?" - says Aura as she gently nods Okaba towards rest.

Well, he's the type that would definitively stay up all night to research something interesting.

Basically, his wife is telling him its time for bed, uh?

"Ah, sir Eldric as well. Lux, can you escort him to his room, please?" - the purple royal consort says with a pleasant smile

"Oh, their cage is already in your bedroom, sire." - says Lux as she patiently waits for us.

Seeing we appear ready to leave the lab, she casually starts unbuttoning her lab robe, turning it back into a sensual-looking robe that hungs open from her shoulders.

"In that case, I will wish you a good night." -we say farewell to Aura and Okaba, and follow Lux to our room.

"His highness was very happy about your visit." -says Lux as she guides us- "Please visit more often, sire."

"I see." - we nod, thinking that it wouldn't be bad to drop by more often- "Have you been working on the palace very long?"
"I am not interesting enough to make conversation about." - the milky white succubus replies humbly- "This is your room."

As expected, it isn't far from the 'lab'.

Lux pulls on what looks like a part of the door's decoration, and then moves it to the side. A soft click announces that the door is unlocked.

The door lock is a puzzle... this civilization really likes their brain-teasers... I wonder if I should blame the majin, or the succubus?

I can easily see it being the fault of a succubus from the past with a fondness for puzzles.

The room is spacious but simple, with solid-looking furniture that looks more utilitarian than expensive. Its a bit surprising in a place such as a palace that has been subjected to the whims of a thousand generations of slightly quirky geniuses... and im not sure if i'm talking about the succubus or the majin.

There's an ample empty space at the feet of the bed, with smooth-polished white stone floor. The rest of the room is covered in high quality rugs, so I wonder why that is so?

On top of a small coffee table, there's a golden cage, the likes of which you would have seen in an old movie or cartoon (usually with a tweety bird inside, saying "I Taw a Putty Tat").

As expected, is this, right? Yup, its this.

There's two (Jungle variety) Honey Faery Drones inside.

They're about 40 or 50% taller than the drones we are used to. That means they're still tiny, of course, but the difference is quite noticeable when you think about it.

They appear otherwise the same as our northern variety honey faeries, I think... let's take a look with our [Ring of Knowledge]

Miel II appears in front of us, and seeing as there's no immediate danger, waits for us to talk to her.

"Lux, can you fetch paper to write in, and something to write with, please?"
"Yes sir, right away."

The white succubus leaves the room. Following Miel's eyes, we notice that there's some paper, pens and ink on the desk, but the succubus probably didin't want to point them out and make the guest look bad, so she went out anyway.

Actually, she came back right away anyway... an easy guess is that she has her own [Item Box] and carries academia-related stuff on it.

So she probably went out of the room, took our pen and paper, then cam back in. Probably

"Miel, what do you think of these two?" - we ask our own faery in the meanwhile, pointing towards the cage
"Oh."

She walks over and looks at the drones for a bit. They look back at her with interest. We can't hear them say anything, but by Miel's nodding of her head, we get the impression they probably are talking somehow.

Well, pheromones, high frequency... I wonder how do they communicate when they're that small?

Physically, they just appear taller than the honey faeries we are used to. Their skin tone is just a little darker, but their hair is the same bright gold tones, and while they are dressed with bright green, blue and purple tones, those are more a matter of fashion than physiology...

I guess we'd need to...

Having Miel interpret for us, we talk with them about their culture and traditions. From what we know about Miel's society, it really sounds quite different.

Miel's 'tribe' so to speak, are... developed may be the wrong word, but they were at least at the farming stage, tending to their flower fields and harvesting dew and nectar from plants that they cared for, and in some cases, planted themselves.

The Heven faeries on the other side, are more of a nimadic people, moving the whole hive around without building permanent structures, simply following migratory patterns that naturally keep their numbers contained while giving them relative 'abundance'

They move to an area, use the resources there, and move to the next. The southern continent is split like a pie, and they move from slice to slice, leaving the used ones to recover naturally over time

Of course, this means they have naturally evolved to favor the larger, more aggressive in their midst, with plenty of their numbers dying to predators and dangers of the jungle, which means there's always plenty of resourves to go around for the rest of them, so the 'winners' can feast as much as they want, growing stronger and larger.

It probably wouldnt work in a colder land, where they needed supplies for winter, or in a place without as much natural abundance.

However, now that the Thorny Flower plant-type monster population has boomed, they will probably go through some very, very harsh trouble when they go through that area of the jungle again in a few years.

Looks like, if left to their own means, they are flying unknowingly towards the maws of thousands of hungry monster plants.

Quite slow, true, but certainly.

Well, now we now that they are vastly different at the cultural level, and when we use our [Ring of Knowledge] on them, we can see that they are not really all that different stat-wise or ability-wise... except for the fact that they seem to have the poison type instead of the honey type, making them Poison Faeries.

So yeah, they really are a different species...

Should we have them adopted by Miel's hive and help move things so they become a warrior caste for the smaller faeries? They provide security, and the smaller ones provide work and culture.

It seems pretty similar to how Okaba's realm operates right now, with the intellectual and long-lived majin providing guidance and fair rulership, the whimsical but amazingly smart succubus helping by providing cultural and scientific progress, and the humans providing a readily available workforce.

>Yes let's try some social engineering
>No, let them die naturally and be replaced by Miel's smaller but hard-working Honey faeries. We're not attacking them nor are we hurting them in any way, we are just letting nature take its course.

Really? I don't see it. Well, I can't paint anymore, but when I see those, all I think is 'uh, really dilluted water colors'. I guess its an occupational disease? I can't really see drawings except as drawings unlike I try really hard to.

1- why remove it instead of just having it cooperate with the honey faery hive already there?
2- bees do a shitload of work in the plant world. a continent that had bees, if it lost them all of a sudden, would be in HUGE problems.

We decide to try having Miel arrange for a experiment, and 'adopt' these two drones to see how they do in a regular hive.

If it works, we'll try and get the hives we have already imported here to collaborate with the roaming, stronger, poison faeries.

"Alright, that should be all, thank you Miel." - we pat pat her head and gently caress her neck as we kiss her forehead and send her back into our menagerie.- "Thank you Lux, that will be all."
"Yes sire. Please ring the bell on the night table by your bedside. I will hear it anywhere in the palace." -she says
"Thank you."

The bell looks brand new. And that is quite literal. It's not the 'really well taken care of, and polished every day" glow, but the "brand new" glow. Pretty much anyone who works with magical tools could tell the difference.

In our previous world... yeah, if you ever bought books, you know that 'new book' scent. If you played TCGs, you know what that feels like, too.

Looking at it, it seems to be a simpler version of the 'fax' we are working on. It probably works only 1-way, from sender to receiver, and can only send a single sound. In this case, a bell chime sound.

Hm... maybe we could use it somehow? Anyway, for now, let's go to bed. We did promise Lyann we would actually get some rest time during our visit.

Well, the room is nice and clean, the furniture is nicely solid, the rugs look soft and clean... we can certainly make use of the king-sized, solid, clean bed.

...by calling out Tanis.

She looks around.

"Oh" -she says with a smile.- "Just us?"

She catches up really quickly, doesn't she?

Walking towards Eldric with a smile, she leans in for a kiss.

>Kiss her back and take things nice and slow
>Start taking her 'clothes' off and go over her pet training again
>Kiss her and turn her around. Wild and lewd. Let's test the furniture

you know, i just realized, its a romantic castle over the clouds, in a royal suite. It would have been a nice, romantic location for Nina's first time. Maybe after cuddling in the balcony and watching at the sky, or by the fireplace.

Well, the pupills are like 95% of the already animesque, large eyes.
Maybe it is only me, but I think that is creepy as hell.
