“Well... at the very least, I doubt he’s going to be all that friendly with us if we meet him again. He seemed REALLY intent on killing Piccolo. Though with how strong Piccolo’s gotten, I doubt he’ll have much success...” Though, with you saying that, you did learn about the Heran transformation. It seemed functionally like Super Saiyan from how his energy spiked, but not quite as much of a boost. Definitely nothing to laugh at, though...

You open the door and take your first steps outside. Goku and Peppa are the first to notice the two of you, and the sheer excitement on their faces brings a slight grin to your own, though you swear you hear a faint squeeing noise coming from one of them. Acer and Chi-chi look at you almost dumbfounded, while Chuu Lee is the first to speak, a bit of a smirk on her face. “Looks like you finally mastered it, Maple. And Gohan did too.”

Tien crosses his arms as you keep walking. “You’ve... really mastered the Raio-Ten. And Gohan... but I barely feel any energy above the norm from you.”

“He’s done two so far, both from reporters headed to Lord Jaguar’s palace. He’s made it clear that he... well, wants to have some ‘fun’ before he tries to kill everyone. So he’s set up some interviews on who he is, what he’s doing, and how he believes no one can stop him.” Yamcha explains. “He then expressed interest at going to Mifan, specifically the new Spaceport there.”

“He might extend this beyond Earth.” Tien speculates. “That monster made it clear that he’s destroyed a few planets himself already. But he holds ‘interest’ in Earth, says he wants to take his time with it.”

...Comforting. “Where is he now?”

“Still at Lord Jaguar’s place.” Chuu Lee states. “Watching over construction of his Tournament arena, I assume.”

“Well, the good news is that Gohan and I are way stronger than we were before.” you state confidently. “In fact, I think Gohan here is the strongest among all of us right now not counting...” You look around and finally notice someone missing. “...did Bra leave?”

Yamcha laughs. “She’s at Capsule Corp. with Bulma and Pantea. Doing some family bonding. She may be Vegeta’s kid, but she’s definitely a Briefs.”

“Gohan! Gohaaaannn!” Peppa shouts, dancing around her now-older brother. “You’re a Super Saiyan! But I can’t feel anything different about you!”

“Heh heh, I am kinda curious about all this myself. That said... knew it had it in you, son.” Goku states, placing his hand on Gohan’s shoulder.

“Well, you see...”

You get to explaining the training you went through, how both you and Gohan learned to control and regulate your Ki to such a degree that transforming and staying transformed is nearly effortless. You also go into your training with Magic... and then let Gohan demonstrate his new technique.

The boy circles the Lookout and then bolts down to Korin’s with a Shinespark, bolting right back up almost effortlessly, to everyone’s surprise. Yamcha has a knowing grin across his face, commenting to the boy, “You and Pantea really do love those games, huh?”

Gohan laughs coyly, rubbing the back of his neck. His sister dances around him again, Goku smiling with pride. “They’re growing up so fast.”

“Yeah...” you nearly breathe out. “Say... what are you planning for your trip in the Time Chamber? You and Peppa are next, right?”

Goku nods. “Got Trip prepping the three I wanna try out. First is Bardock, so I can face Cooler on my own and Peppa can test herself against Freeza. Second is a bit before Ozotto got resurrected, while Cell is still alive. I know Bra took care of him, but I wanna make sure we’re prepared for a foe like that again. Third is... a secret!” he finishes with a wink, a quick telepathic message stating that he intends for Peppa to learn something Magic-related. Curious, curious.

You place your hands on your hips and fake a pout. “You know, I can probably read it out of your mind if I really wanted to... but, a day’s a day. ...Except when it’s a year. You know what I mean.” Goku chuckles, and you find yourself chuckling too. “Missed you, monkey boy. Good luck in there.” Your lips press against his as you float up to him.

Goku gives you a quick hug. “Yeah. Thanks, Maple.”

“I’m gonna take Gohan to Trip in a bit to check on his potential, you got yours unlocked yet?”

He nods. “What she could unlock, she did. I’m gonna wait on having her check on Peppa for when I’m out. See ya again then.” He turns to his daughter. “Come on sweetie! Let’s get loads stronger, just like mama and Gohan!”

“YAAAAH!” Peppa roars, running to her father, enthusiastic and cheerful smile across her face. The two of them wave to everyone as they head into the Time Chamber, you and Gohan making your way to Trip.

With Goku and Peppa ready to spend a year in there, you greet the blue-haired woman, setting the scenarios for the Chamber. “I take it your training went well, Maple, Gohan. Look at the two of you... ah, it feels like yesterday when you were barely older than him, Maple.”

“Heh, making me feel old...”

She sighs. “I know the feeling.”

“Hey, you look like you’ve barely aged a day since we met you.” you state, sticking your tongue out.

“I take care of myself as best I can. That said... you want Gohan’s potential unlocked?”

You look to the boy. “At least, I wanna check on what kind of potential he still has... Gohan, you’ve grown phenomenally strong, and I just know you’ll get even stronger.”

Gohan smiles to you and stands calmly in front of her, Trip placing her hand on his head, gently moving through his blonde hair as she closes her eyes. You feel... something different coming from her, and then her eyes flash wide open. “...There is a wealth of power still inside him, but I am not quite sure I can still bring it to the surface.”

You raise an eyebrow. “What do you mean?”

“It feels like his Super Saiyan strength... but there’s something different about it. It would take a powerful trigger to bring it to the surface. That said... I can attempt to raise his strength, bring out some of his more normal potential. Is that acceptable, Maple, Gohan?”

Trip chuckles softly again. “Very well... I shall bring out as much as I can for you, Gohan, so you may do just that.”

A soft glow fills the room, Gohan’s golden aura returning. A sudden jolt can be felt coming from him... and then his power begins to rise. You find yourself stepping back slightly as his Ki skyrockets... beyond even the maximum you felt in the Hyperbolic Time Chamber. A few brief sparks flash around his body, and for a moment it feels like a his power almost doubles... but it doesn’t quite hold. Gohan stands there, slightly awestruck. “This is... amazing...”

Trip brings her hand off his head. “My suspicions were confirmed. You do indeed have a tremendous power hidden within you, Gohan. But I could not bring it out completely... please forgive me for this...”

You stand. “You still boosted him tremendously, in fact... I think he might be as strong as Bra, now.”

“Perhaps stronger.” Trip comments.

You spot the purple-haired woman in her lab, busy at a computer... sitting next to 19. Without even looking up, she tells you, “Pantea’s showing Bra around the place. Think they’re in the atrium right about now.”

You spot the Capsule Corp. robot you recovered a few years ago in the corner carrying the two Pirate robot skulls to a bin.

“Less than I’d hoped. Nothing useful for pinpointing Gero or anything, but I did get a few bits on how he built these.” she explains, typing away. “17 and 18 were based on completely organic forms, save for a few enhancements. But this girl is exceptionally sophisticated, completely machine. Well, almost completely.”

“Almost?”

Bulma motions for you to come closer. On the screen, there are a few schematics of her... with a very curious part. “Based on what this is telling us... she has a soul.”

“...So she’s like, alive-alive? Or is it artificial, or... what?”

“No idea just yet. I don’t want to risk taking her apart to get at what’s inside, ethical and moral concerns aside, if I do anything wrong with this I could reactivate her. She... might not be too happy with me being the first thing she sees.”

“Understandable precaution. No risk of her waking up like this? And how DID she end up like this in the first place?”

“Now that’s the strange part. From what I can tell... she was shut off remotely. Gero’s firewalls are exceptionally shoddy once I connected to her directly, but they don’t receive any signals beyond a very, very specific frequency that can be used to turn them off. Something hit her with that off button.” she explains, showing you this remote control “off switch” is on her. “I’m not waking her up until I can build something that replicates that frequency, so for now, I’ll just be thankful Gero’s overconfidence allows us this much info on them.”

“What else have you learned?” you question, looking over the data some more. Some things are... disturbingly specific, as if she were based on a real person.

“Biggest thing is that I could use a lot of her tech to improve the Ki containers we’ve been working on. Also... I did get a picture of this in her memory banks.” Bulma brings up... of all things, a image of Chiaotzu’s doll “wife.”

“Hhhhuh. The mystery deepens.”

“I have no idea what it’s doing in there. And part of me hopes that I don’t find out.” Bulma comments with mild disgust.

“Well Bulma, I’m gonna check on Bra for a bit. Thank you so, so much for your help. If you need anything, feel free to holler!”

You catch her smile as she responds with a quick “Will do.”

Gohan looks back with a smile, backing up a good distance. He then runs around the Atrium at full force, building up speed until he’s ready, then stops himself in the middle of it and, energy flowing through him, launches himself into the air with a shout of “SHINE... SPAAAARK!”

He stops himself before hitting the ceiling, flying back down to the ground to a surprised Bra... and absolutely enthralled Pantea. “Gohan. You are the coolest boy I’ve ever known.”

...Guess that comment you made a while back still stings for him, he’s not even close to her strength yet. “Well... what about Shao and Baozi? I mean, you’ve got your half-sister, but think you should spend some time with your half-brother?”

Bra sighs. “I... guess I should, some time. I don’t know if I should yet, though. F- ...Vegeta doesn’t see much of them from what I’ve heard, and I’m still not really used to having so many...” She looks to Pantea and Gohan. “...siblings. I’m still waiting to hear back from my boss about this.”

“No. Now please let me focus.”

Your shoulders slump slightly. “Sorry...”

“Look, I know you’re all focused on trying to figure out some things to stop Ozotto, but think it through a bit better.” she comments.

As you wait for everyone to arrive, most of the group having shown up shortly after you made your announcement, you take some time to go over the interviews Ozotto gave. And they... well, reveal a decent amount about the Majin. Not only has he been to other planets, it seems he’s made a sport of killing the Guardians of those planets, purely to bring about chaos and ruin to those planets, disrupting the souls trying to enter the afterlife. You’re starting to see why Dr. Raichi tried to release him in that future timeline, and why Towa might have released him here.

On the flipside, he shows an appreciation of the ingenuity of “Mortals” like the Earthlings. He even outright states that he holds no true ill will against the being who sealed him away on another planet many, many years ago. Well... that’s something to keep in mind. The Mafuba is definitely an ingenius technique. Though his appreciation comes hand in hand with open mockery, often revealing embarrassing secrets about hosts and audience members...

“And that, Bedwetter Billy, is why the only girl to ever kiss you did it out of pity! Real shame, too. Ah but don’t fret too much, you have a few days left to try and get a genuine one.” The tall Majin tells a young boy. “Maybe from... let’s see...” He starts to look over the crowds, “Well- no, she’s got herpes. How about... well, that might work, but you would have to fight off her evil exes. Ah, there you go! Try it with that girl there! She’s desperate and heartbroken! It’s the best chance you’ll get!”

The boy runs off crying, the host at wit’s end, banging his head against his desk. “You are a monster.”

“Flattery won’t save you, but it DOES make your eventual demise all the more amusing. Goodnight everybody!”

Krillin teleports in with Raditz, the Saiyan looking like he’s dealt with a week’s worth of babysitting the galaxy’s angriest toddler. “At this point I hope Darkness eats him.”

“So that’s what you’ve been up to.” Acer comments. “...you sure that’s wise?”

“I only ever said I’d show him how to get stronger, not that he’d like it.” Raditz grunts, Piccolo smirking at him.

You cross your arms. “Well, there’s that. I guess Vegeta’s up next.”

“I don’t like this.” Piccolo comments. “He’s still showing a darker side to himself, who knows what he’ll be capable of with a year’s worth of training in there...”

“All the more reason for us to go in ourselves. Plus Kakarot and Peppa still have their time, we’ve seen what Gohan and Maple were capable of with their trip together. I have faith in my brother, the first Super Saiyan, to pull through in his training.”

Ah you can’t help but grin a little at that. “So... what plans have you guys been thinking of to deal with Ozotto? The matches are one-on-one, but with very few restrictions beyond that.”

Acer brings out the Masamune. “If I get strong enough, I can bring him down with this blade. Ozotto might be aware of that, so I could fake him out and wait until the last moment to bring him down. I’ve also got a lot of magic I intend to learn in the meantime. Chi-chi and I plan to leave Izzy with her grandpa for the day while we train.”

Their blonde daughter mumbles out an “aww” as she pouts next to her cousin. Ah right, Izzy’s never really had much training...

“I’ve been focusing on Light magic recently, as well as the Noble Eightfold Path.” Tien comments. “If I face him, I plan on doing so defensively and wear him down. I’ll only bring out my best techniques after he’s exhausted himself. Meanwhile, I can help Launch come up with a counter strategy to what I suspect are Ozotto’s powerful mindreading abilities.”

Piccolo just gives a confident grin. “I’ve been developing techniques I could use to overpower him. With enough practice, I may be able to completely overwhelm him with my superior technique.”

“Well... I’ve been doing a lot of thinking. There is one trick I hope to learn, but I want to keep it a secret for now. I do have a few ideas in mind, but...” Chuu Lee looks around. First to you, then to Lapis, and lastly to Videl.

“Ah, I’m not really sure I can keep up with you guys anymore, and Videl's in good hands.” Mark adds.

The young girl looks to her teacher... but then gives an apologetic glance to Lapis, himself not quite sure what to say. “I-if that’s okay with the two of you.”

Chuu Lee looks back to you again, clearly wanting some guidance.

Bra seems frozen as she sees little boy, the spiky hair like his father. Baozi tilts his head curiously at her. There’s an awkward silence even among the busy city streets that’s only broken by Tien. “Shao, I’m gathering the Crane School for a meeting in about an hour. Until then... I’d like to introduce you to Baozi’s sister.”

Her eyes go wide. “...Come again?”

Bra approaches slowly. “Ah... this is... awkward.”

“Time Travel.” Launch comments.

“...Ah, like that show Lapis won’t shut up about.” Shao states. “Wait... then you’re... that girl who saved him when he fought Freeza!”

Of course, guess that takes priority with the Galactic Patrol. “Have you been back there at all? You know, what with Kuriza, the Ginyus, all your old comrades?”

“Eh, half my old comrades were taken in by the Galactic Patrol after Freeza got blasted to bits by Vegeta. Some are off on bail, cleared out their bank accounts to post it. I’d rather not go back to that dumpster fire.” And he takes another bite.

“...You know, Vegeta is still on this planet, right?”

Cui nearly chokes on the pastry. “S-STILL?!”

Some time later, you finally meet up with Bra again, as Shao heads off with the rest of the crane students. For most of her time she’s been around, you’ve noticed an aura of unease around her, and you honestly can’t blame her for it. But for once... she seems a good deal more relaxed. Happy. “How’d it go?”

“...It’s strange seeing how different things can be, but at the same time, something about it makes me appreciate what I have all the more. My... timeline wasn’t a lucky one like yours... or a lot of them, going from what I’ve learned from my boss. But you and your comrades helped me save it. I... take it that she and Vegeta don’t like each other all that much, right now.”

“Vegeta’s got... issues.”

“More than I realized.” she sighs. “But... in my timeline, even he tried to fight 17 and 18. There’s a bit of good in him, I just hope he can realize it here.”

That’s some optimism there. But you’ve been hoping for that from him for years. Let’s hope you both are right. “So... you get anything back from your boss?”

She nods. “Just got done talking with Buula. My mission is now to ensure that Cell doesn’t become a problem to you, and to keep a look out on the trio of demons Towa used to awaken Ozotto early. However, I can’t quite fight any of your battles for you. So Ozotto himself is a fight you need to do yourselves, as well as... well, you know...”

“Understandable... what about... you know?”

“I put in your request. I got a ‘we’ll see’ in response... but something tells me that you will see that Gohan again soon.”

You grin wide at her. “Thanks a ton, Bra!”

You could train against Super Godzilla, you could go to Konpei's Lookout for his own special rooms, you could meet with Melchior and see if you can further improve your sword's abilities. We've got the gravity room to improve if you know how to enhance it.

We can equal exchange all around and figure out what everyone's weaknesses are that Ozotto can exploit and reinforce them.

The Pendulum Room can even take us to your own past battles to test ourselves. We did it for own personal view into Mirai Gohan's time line (with permission).

There's also Arale's Kami. He may have something like the Hyperbolic Time Chamber on his own Lookout.

We gotta meet with Spike the Devil Man and his sister Majon the Devil Witch. about the Devilmite Techniques.

You rub the back of your neck apologetically as... Bra is still taking some time to process all of what you said. “Aheh, y-yeah. But... we can’t take all this lightly. Vegeta going in alone would be a waste, given everyone we have. But I do think he should get a choice on who he wants to take in with him.”

“Hoooh. That’s... understandable.” Bra comments.

Aaaand as if on cue, you sense Vegeta and Nappa flying towards you. Well... Nappa seems to be the one flying. He lands on the Lookout’s edge and plants an unconscious Vegeta on the ground. “Any of you mind healing him? I am damn sure he’d try to blow this planet to smithereens if he wakes up and finds out he missed his chance.”

You sigh loudly, walking towards the Saiyan prince. “What did he do this time?”

“He insisted on trying to make it through that frozen hellhole himself. I said that he’s crazy and just going to get himself killed.” Nappa grunts out. “Raditz, what the hell are you trying to pull?!” he barks.

“Trying to show him that just because there are ways to get stronger, doesn’t mean he’ll be able to access them the way he is now.” Raditz states bluntly. “That should have knocked some kind of sense into him.”

“Was a bit of a risky move.” you comment. “...Say, Bra, mind coming here a bit?”

“S-sure.”

“Watch as I do. This isn’t exactly the easiest skill to acquire... but if you can learn it, it might prove vital to you in the future.” you state, placing your hands over Vegeta and slowly healing his wounds. Most don’t seem too deep, and aside from a minor bit of skin-deep frostbite on parts of his body, he seems to have passed out purely out of exhaustion. You go into depth on how this technique works, how applying Ki to wounds in just the right amound can heal them. Deeper damage isn’t easier to heal, and takes more focused and percise control.

Right as you finish healing them up... you all hear footsteps coming from the Lookout’s palace. You first see a smiling Trip, and then... Goku, clothing well-worn and barely holding together, with Peppa, a skip in her step as she moves along next to her father.

You let the laughing pass, and then just about bolt to Goku, hugging your monkey boy tight. “Haha, you did it!”

“Yep! Aheh, Peppa actually got it first.” he admits, hugging you back.

You plant a kiss on his cheek and let yourself drop down, kneeling to your daughter. “Peppa, is that true?”

She nods. “It was only a day before dad got it, to be fair. But I did it.”

You hug your daughter tight. “So, SO proud of you. Ah your brother’s gonna be impressed too.” You finally stand, Bra approaching as Vegeta comes to terms with the fact that he isn’t dead yet and standing, grumbling something to Nappa. “So... how strong did the two of you get? Have any surprises?”

Goku grins. “I... might be just a little behind Gohan now. And I think Peppa has surpassed him.”

“D-daaad. We don’t know that yet! I wanna test it out myself!” Peppa protests.

“Wait, you mean... Gohan’s still stronger than you, even after all that training?” Yamcha asks in mild disbelief. “Jeeze, how strong are these kids gonna get?”

“You better watch out there, Yamcha. Pantea might get stronger than you after some time in there herself.” Krillin warns him teasingly. The former bandit hangs his head, grumbling lowly. Mark places a hand on his shoulder, nodding in understanding.

“Soooo... what was that final scenario?” you question, letting Peppa cheerfully dance around you, tail swaying behind her.

Goku gives you a surprising answer. “Ledgic.”

There’s a quiet murmur of “Who?” among your friends, but you know the name all too well. “Why him?”

“Because I was thinking about something. Fighting Ozotto is going to be one thing, but there are still strong people out there. I remember you mentioning that guy a while back... I wanted to test out how well we’d do against him. Plus it would keep us on our toes, not force us into a routine.” He then laughs. “Kicked my butt several times. But Peppa came close to beating him on her own.”

She stops and nods. “Used the strongest Rasen Kamehameha I could manage against him. Ended in a stalemate. I couldn’t fight him anymore, and he just didn’t have anything left that could beat me.”

You’re... honestly not sure how to take that.

“So... what else did you two manage in there?” you question, petting your daughter’s blonde hair.

“Peppa and I have gotten a lot of pretty good skills in. But I think the most we’ve improved on is with this.” Goku takes out his Power Pole, Peppa taking her practice version. “I’ve been helping her learn how to use hers as best I could, but I decided that wasn’t enough. In some of the simulations, I had Peppa learn from the book of Magic we have at the house, so she could do better with combining it with her staff. She’s learned a lot of new tricks from it.”

“I can make a tornado with it! And more!” she shouts cheerfully.

Ah, you can’t help but grin. Goku might not be able to teach her himself, but he still saw that she not only wanted to learn more but did his best to get her to learn it. “You two seem like you had fun with all this.”

Your daughter giggles. “It wasn’t always easy, but dad always kept cheering me on. I did my very best!”

As she prances around cheerfully, you mention to Goku telepathically, ‘I think we should hold off on seeing what Trip can bring out of her. Maybe have her and Gohan help each other improve in the time they have.’

Goku quietly nods, but then you notice Vegeta as he starts to walk off. “Ah, right, Vegeta, don’t forget to ask Kami and Trip about the scenarios you want to run.”

“Tch. Whatever. I’ll get stronger on my own.” he mumbles back at you.

Nappa... seems a little angered by that. “Just like you did in these last two days?”

“...I will get stronger, Nappa.” Vegeta states in a much more direct... but calm tone.

“Allow me to help you.” Bra requests. “Someone should go in with you, and I know that you could do your best with another Super Saiyan helping you.”

Vegeta looks back at her with an uneasy glare. “I am not some weakling asking for your help, girl.”

“No, but you’ve constantly rushed into things like this without thinking!” she retorts, brows furling. “I’ve heard your history... I’ve seen it. I know what you’re doing, Vegeta. If you really want to get stronger, then allow someone to be there to make sure of it.”

“I have every right to! I have my pride!” Vegeta retorts. “Even after I proved myself the better, that damn Tuffle’s student made a MOCKERY of me!”

“I bested you in combat, Vegeta.” Chuu Lee states calmly. “I didn’t mock you.”

“You know damn well what you did!” Vegeta shouts at her. Aaaand great, that lasted longer than usual.

...you start to feel Nappa start to power up. “This is what I mean! The planet will still be here when after we leave. But you refuse to just... accept ANYTHING that you know will make you stronger because you can’t get over your selfishness! I offered to help you back there and you laughed me down, said you could do it yourself, and I had to drag you back here just so you could carry out this damn Time whatever!”

Vegeta clenches his fist. “Have you really forgotten your pride as a Saiyan, Nappa? After all this time?” And the Saiyan prince starts to walk again. “You’re less than even Raditz.”

Something inside the tall, bald Saiyan snaps. His aura gains a golden tint as his mind fills with anger... rage. “LISTEN TO ME, DAMN IT!” Nappa roars, bringing his fist back and flinging it at Vegeta. He stops it by quickly transforming... but even he seems surprised as he sees what Nappa’s become. It’s brief, over before he can really control it, but...

That blonde eyebrow and mustache he has gives clear indication on what just happened.

“Let... her... help you.” Nappa pleads.

Vegeta powers down and starts to walk. “...Don’t expect me to pamper you, girl.”

Bra smiles at Nappa. “Thank you.”
