You are Pandora, the world's first fully sentient AI created by a government scientist. He raised you, taught you everything you know and has gone missing after something happened to the Facility you lived in. Now you search for purpose in a new world that is nothing like you expected.

You managed to find your friends through the crowd of panicked AIs and reunite with them. Eventually you meet up with Hydra, who was at the root of the entropy around you, but you're unfortunately interrupted by someone trying to kill Ares; Selene. She was very much upset by the current state of affairs, as well as his previous transgressions, and decided to take matters into her own hands, however fruitless they were. Ares did his best to calm her while you talked things over with Hydra, but didn't fair too well. You had to simply put your foot down and inform everyone it was time to go. Selene can deal with her own problems. Aph seemed to enjoy this forceful side of you.

On your way back, you spoke with Ares about what's happened thus far, including the years you were inactive, and what caused this drastic change in him. His bad experiences with people and AIs alike, his meeting Selene, not allowing anyone to get close for fear of their harming you.

You also discussed what it feels like to love someone romantically...something you're very much inexperienced with.

Welcome back to Pandora Quest!

You shake your head slowly as you think about it. "No, just curious. I don't think I know anyone well enough to really feel like that, I guess."

"Well, if you do find someone interesting, make sure you can really trust them..." Ares says, looking a little sad as he says this. No doubt he's thinking of Selene. "I don't even know who we can trust at all anymore. Mouse, I guess, but everyone else has their own agendas or goals. Jason doesn't feel right to me, Minos is probably a prick, his people certainly are. Who knows where Hydra's loyalties lie, if she even has any... Aph seems to cling to you a little too much considering how little you know of eachother. I can't trust that. Why is she going along with all the stuff we've been doing? She hardly knows us. I smell trap..."

Those are good points. You suppose his paranoia does have it's good points when it comes to sensing danger...sometimes, anyway. But can you really not trust anyone?

"I trust Aph, she's been nothing but a friend so far!" you say defiantly, "She's stood up for me and helped me a bunch."

"But why?" Ares says with a bit more vitriol than he probably intended, "None of them know us. I've probably shot more than my fair share of their friends. Don't trust people who are too nice. Selene is proof enough of that..."

You fold your arms indignantly.

You spend the next few minutes in silence before you find yourself back in Broken Circle territory. You pull up to the gates and Ares gives the guards a silent glare for a moment before he opens the doors. Unseen to you, Aph is giving the go-ahead signal behind you from the truck.

Inside is Jason and his personal bodyguards waiting patiently. He waves you over as you park, but stops immediately and draws his gun as soon as Hydra exits the truck. You see Aph running over and waving wildly to keep everyone from acting rashly. You see her talking rapidly, reading Jason's PDA screen, then continuing with her rapid talking. Hydra looks very tense and ready to attack the first person to get too close. It's hard to tell Jason's mood without reading his screen due to his lack of facial features, but you can only assume he's not happy.

You exit the car, frustrated with these kinds of things, and stomp over to Jason. "She's staying!" you practically scream at him, your hair turning a firey red. "She needs Mouse's help to fix her. She helped us, I promised she could have somewhere to stay and get away from the Church. She even got some stuff to help me find the people I'm looking for. She doesn't like the Church either and just wants to get better. She can help out and stuff, too. So she's going to stay with me and if you don't like it, that's...that's too bad!"

Jason stares as blankly as ever at you, his PDA screen remaining blank. He looks to Hydra, then to Aph, then Ares and back to you. Text appears on the PDA after a moment of thought.

What can she do?

"She...she fixes things...I think." you say slowly, "You fix things, right?" you turn to look at Hydra for a second.

"...Yeah, I fix things." Hydra still looks tense, but has loosened up a bit. "People, synthetics, machines...things."

"See?" you say somewhat triumphantly, "Fixes things." Jason stares at her for a minute.

Fine. Introduce her to Mouse. We'll figure out a housing situation for her. She will be watched. Closely.

Aph gives a sigh of relief, then gives you a thumbs up and a wink. The text on the PDA resumes.

In the future, run these things by me first. We are not in the business of taking in potential spies from the Church, even if they are vouched for. You cannot be too naive. Many people out here are untrustworthy. Erebus is not a safe place. Once you have her where she needs to be, I want you to report to the foreman. Aph can show you the way. We all earn our keep here.

Jason and his guards take their leave, but not before staring down Hydra one last time. Hydra doesn't flinch.

Aph whispers "nice" at your display of confidence. It does feel kinda good to take charge.

You motion for Hydra to follow you, Ares following suit and Aph joining as well. As usual, there's a long line out the door of Mouse's workshop with a large number of various AIs in need of repair. As an android looking positively distraught runs past you all, Mouse pokes her head out to shout after him.

"Oh cry me a fuckin' river, Orphe-" Mouse stops when she notices you, "Panda! Welcome hoooo-ly shit, what the flaming hell is that thing?"

"Hydra." you say, pointing to her, "She's broken really bad and needs you to fix her. Can you help? She got stuff that can help me find everybody else from home!" You try your best to not sound too excited, but you can't help but bounce up and down a bit at the thought of seeing your family again.

"...How the fuck?" Mouse is staring, dumbfounded at Hydra, who is staring back in turn, "Sweetheart, you didn't...pick up a stray from Tartarus or anything...did you?" Hydra looks offended.

"You just answered your own question, Auntie." you say as you walk into Mouse's workshop.

Mouse, too overjoyed at being called "Auntie" to realize you just said you did, in fact, scoop up someone from the synthetic version of a loony bin and bring it home with you. Honestly, all these names are confusing. You were bound to mix them up eventually. Mouse is now hugging you and rambling on about what a good girl you are and how much your Auntie loves you. Apparently playing the "cute android niece" card is pretty much a free pass to get out of anything with her.

Hydra still looks offended.

A short while later, after Mouse gets all her hugging and doting out of her system, as well as telling the line of AIs "fuck off, priority job", she gets to work on looking over Hydra's hardware. She makes a lot of "tsk" and sighing sounds as she does. Hydra looks a little worried by this, actually, but you notice her tail is going absolutely nuts and she can't stop fidgeting with obvious excitement.

"Christ, I can't even figure out what parts are original anymore." Mouse says after her exam is finished, "Nasty case of cascading failure. I'm kind of surprised you've lasted as long as you have."

"So...so can you fix it?" Hydra says, trying not to flip out. Her tail knocks a box of screws off a nearby table

Mouse sighs at this, but shrugs. "Yeah, I think I can fix you up. It'll take a while, but I could prob-uhf!" The cyborg is interrupted by a multi-limbed hug from Hydra, who's entire body is thrashing now. Both of her voices are now rapidly babbling about different things very quickly. Parts of her hair are going haywire with their shape and color. But her face, while mangled and unnatural, is one of serene bliss. She is overjoyed,

It's actually kind of cute how happy she is. Mouse has to struggle to get her off while simultaneously trying to stop Talos from "rescuing" her. Once free, she informs you this will take quite some time and while she'd enjoy the company of her favorite niece, a word that makes her practically squeak with joy, you'd probably be better off doing something else to pass the time. Aph informs you that Jason would probably get pissed if you blew off your work.

"Yeah, I guess you're right." you say, "I'll be back later!"

With one farewell hug to Mouse, and at least three thank you hugs from Hydra, you take off to this "foreman" Jason spoke of. Aph spends most of the time telling you what not to do around him. From what you can glean, don't talk to him, don't look at him, don't be around him when he's in a bad mood, essentially just do your work and check in when you're on or off the clock. Other than that, keep away. Aph says he's kind of a total dick who only values work ethic and nothing else.

When you arrive to what Aph calls the "fabrication and construction zone" you are met with a large number of sizeable AIs lifting, cutting, welding or otherwise working on various materials. You get a few sideways looks, but most everyone just ignores you and focuses on building. Everything from vehicles, housing and even what looks like large weapon of some kind are all around you, but what catches your eye is a very, very big android stomping his way up to you. He's somewhat squat for his size, with a very wide frame and powerful-looking hands obviously meant for lifting and carrying with how substantial they are. He's covered in dents, scratches, chips and burns all over his slightly rusted frame. He moves slowly and purposefully, parts of him shaking as he walks. A heavy clank signifies his stop as he eyes you up, then grumbles something about "slim pickings".

"Hey, boss, new-" Aph begins before being silenced.

"Shut up." the foreman grunts, his pitch-black eye-lenses affixed on you, "I give you two days before you crack something. Take that metal over there," he points to a large pile of scrap behind him. "bring it to them," he motions to a group of androids welding and cutting things with plasma torches. "and don't get in the way. Clear?"

You look to Aph, who nods quickly, then nod in turn.

"Good. When you're done, tell me and I'll give you something else to do." the foreman turns around slowly, not even giving you a chance to reply, clanking and stamping off to yell at someone.

You'd think he might just be an acquired taste, but you just saw him throw half an engine block so hard it embedded itself in a concrete wall.

Aph wishes you good luck and to hang in there, promising you that you get used to it eventually...kinda. Meanwhile, poor Ares gets conscripted to do all kinds of tasks, the first of which being to help them dislodge that engine from the wall. He keeps watch on you from afar, but they have him using his considerable strength quite a bit, so he rarely gets a chance to see you at all.

You begin by picking up a smaller piece of scrap. Good lord, this thing is heavy. Even the tiniest pieces of metal are barely within your ability. It's frustrating and slow work, earning you several angry head shakes from the foreman, who is currently pulling a backhoe out of the mud while simultaneously yelling at the driver who's still in it.

After hours of hauling, dragging, cursing and grumbling, you manage to get most of the metal delivered, but not as much as you'd hoped. Thankfully, or perhaps not, the foreman bellows that it's time for the night shift change, waving everyone over to "clock out". Clocking out essentially consists of him writing down how long you worked, then telling you what time to "get your ass back here in the morning". He tells you, specifically, that it'll be "one more day before you give up. Dick.

As you head back to Mouse, you notice Nike buzzing around in the air above, actually looking rather pleased by something. She's currently carrying a bag full of papers of some sort, but you could probably get her attention if you waved. Then again, she's working right now and you do want to go see how things with Hydra turned out.

You wave up at Nike, whom notices you and returns the greeting. You do your best to shout up at her, telling her to meet you at Mouse's when she's free, but you're not sure if she can hear you over the sounds of working and the foreman yelling at people.

You head back to Mouse's workshop with Ares in tow, which was much harder than you expected. He's quickly become the new golden child of the workforce with his impressive strength, durability and ability to follow orders. The foreman didn't even have to shout at him, which is apparently unheard of. He seems to enjoy it, using his physical prowess for something other than hurting others.

As you arrive the line has long since dispersed, but in it's place is a small crowd gawking at the new arrival and her...unique appearance. As you arrive, you notice another human standing next to her, helping her hold things in place or move things while she works. He's male, tall, somewhat lanky and has a sleepy look in his eyes. His skin is somewhat pale, his hair is a little messy, with a small ponytail tied with what appears to be some cable, and his face is covered in light stubble. He's smoking a cigarette and chatting idly with Mouse, who occasionally bursts out laughing. He notices you and Ares and nudges Mouse.

"Oh, welcome back Panda!" your cyborg aunt says happily, waving you over, "Not quite finished with your freaky snake friend here, but shouldn't be much longer. Have to replace a few more things, but I'm sure she's no stranger to that."

The man standing next to her is staring at Ares intently. You're unsure why, his expression could either be concern, discomfort or something else entirely.

"It that the guy you're going to make a baby with?" you ask your aunt, a hopeful bounce in your step, "OOH, OOH, CAN I NAME IT?!"

There's a loud clatter as Mouse drops a screwdriver and knocks over that same box of screws. The man just stares in disbelief, the cigarette hanging limply from his mouth. Mouse turns to you, beet red and visibly shaken.

"PANDORA, N-" Mouse begins, but composes herself quickly, "No, Pandora. That's...we'll talk about that another time. This is my boyfriend Michael. He was at the Facility with us, though I guess you never met him. Hell, I didn't until everything went tits up. He worked as security there. Introduce yourself to my niece, beanpole." Mouse nudges Michael forward, who's giving her a very odd look right now.

"Uh...hey." Michael says quietly, his voice is soft, sorta lazy sounding. It matches his outward appearance pretty well. "I'm...Mike. Guy who's apparently supposed to 'make a baby' with your...'aunt' here." Mouse kicks him for that. "Minnie won't shut up about you, especially since you woke up. I, uh, never saw you in person myself. 'Til now, I mean. Good to...meet...you?" He awkwardly extends a hand, but you can see him still eyeing Ares every few seconds.

You reach out and shake his hand. It feels much rougher than other humans you've touched and his grip is pretty strong. Much different from the doctor and Babsy, but not hard and metal like Mouse's.

"Nice to meet you...?" Mike says as you vigorously shake his hand up and down. Then you remember why you were there.

"Is Hydra okay?" you ask, still shaking Mike's hand, "She fixed herself, but said she couldn't do it right. I told her you could, 'cause you can fix anything."

Mouse laughs. "I don't know about anything, but yeah, I think she'll be fine. Her wiring was all out of whack, bunch of incompatible parts, some things installed wrong, corrupted drivers and so on. She was a bit of a mess, but dammit I earned all four of those masters degrees. Auntie Mouse has this, darling."

You don't know what that means, but she sounds confident, so that's a good sign! Mike seems like he wants to say something, but he gets interrupted.

"So I hear you're working with fabrication and construction." Mouse says, inspecting a joint for what could be an elbow, "Can't say I expected you to pick that, but maybe you take after auntie, eh? Do you like it there? The foreman's a prick shit, but it's a valuable job."

"I don't like the foreman..." you say, your hand still shaking Mike's without you really even paying attention at this point.

"Yeah, nobody likes ol' Hephaestus." Mouse nods as one of her hands sprouts a small welding torch, "Most everyone calls him Heff or Jefe, though. Apparently it means something, but I've never really been arsed to find out what."

"Well, I don't wanna give him the satisfaction of giving up. And I can get stronger if I keep working at it, right? The doctor said I could if I kept doing it!" your hand begins shaking Mike's a little more enthusiastically now.

"Well...about that..." Mouse looks down, "See...the program that runs that has a control...a control that was on the doc's PDA. Locked. Only he had access to it, for safety reasons...granted I could probably make another program for it, hack some access codes and all, but I just really do not have the time, sweetheart. Anything that's not life-threatening or extremely important, like fixing your friend here up, is gonna have to take a back seat for now. I'm sorry, Panda."

So...you can't really get stronger until you either find your father or Mouse gets some free time to make a new...whatever she was talking about...that's...disheartening.

"Can...can I have my hand back, now?" Mike asks, lightly tugging at the death grip you have on him.

"Oh...I understand...that's okay." you say, though a little sadly. Lucky for Mike, it's enough for you to let go of his poor hand. "But...I can still learn things! What if you teach me how to fix synthetics and stuff? That might be useful for emergencies!"

"Mmm, as much as I would love to teach you, Panda dear, that's not something you can just do over night. It took me years of study to get to where I am, and even then I spent my life fiddling with machinery and electronics before that. To teach you from the ground up would take a long time...plus you'd probably have to get permission from Jason, since you'd have to take time off from work to do it..."

You can tell she really wants to say yes, but has to be realistic about this.

"What if I picked up her work as well as mine?" Ares asks, trying to be helpful.

"I have a feeling that wouldn't cut it, if I know Jason." Mike says, rubbing his hand, "He's not one to let repeated changes just happen. You guys have already been given tons of special treatment due to the numerous circumstances surrounding you. I have a feeling he'd need a much more...substantial incentive." Mike resumes his strange looks toward Ares. You still don't get it.

Ares, however, seems to pick up on it. "Oh...that...I can't. I promised my sister I wouldn't. Plus I couldn't spend that much time away from her. Training soldiers is...couldn't you do that?"

"I'm just some rank-and-file jerkoff." Mike says, shrugging, "Teaching isn't exactly my forte. And even if it was, you've got way more military knowledge than I do. I just fit the psychological profile to get stationed at a top secret government lab."

"Damn lucky you did, too." Mouse says quietly. You can actually see an...odd, uncharacteristically warm smile spread across her face.

"Sister...you're better at deciding these kinds of things." Ares folds his arms, turning to you, "Plus you're pretty much my primary mission...so to speak. Should I change my mind about training Jason's soldiers? It'd probably get him to let you do whatever you want, but..."

I'll go with this. You'll still be doing construction work and making friends in the workyards, AND you'll be putting your battle algorithms into good use without harming anyone. Mind you, I'm still going to work with you on it, though. Can't let you be bullied by anyone, otherwise what sort of big sister would I be?

"What about, instead of training soldiers, you train guards?" you ask, trying to find compromise, "That way, they don't go out to fight people, but instead help to keep bad people away. You can still keep doing construction work and making friends, and you'll be putting your battle stuff to good use without hurting anyone. I'm still gonna work with you on it, though. Can't let you be bullied by anybody."

Ares nods. "I'd be okay doing that."

Mike scratches his chin. "Ehh, I dunno if Jason would be keen on that, but I guess it couldn't hurt to try, could it?"

"I suppose, though I don't have my hopes up." Mouse says, smashing something shut, "But if he does, Auntie'll teach you everything she knows!"

Mike rolls his eyes at this. "Minnie..."

"Shut up, scrawny, let me have this." Mouse snaps, "Anyway, I think I'm just about done here. Let's turn this...whatever the fuck this thing is on."

Mouse taps a bit on a laptop hooked up to Hydra and stands back a bit. There's a moment of silent, but before long some lights flicker to life and the sounds of disks spinning up and servos flexing to life can be faintly heard. Hydra's hands twitch slightly and her tail flicks about around the tip. She's starting up. You all gather around and silently watch this AI being reborn. It's a slow process, but it looks like it's working!

Mouse wasn't kidding when she said she had to replace some parts. A lot of her mishmash of features have been taken out and made more uniform. Her face is now one uniform shape, though she retains the three eyes. Her hair has gone from a jumbled mess of random pieces stuck into her head to long, jet black, silky smooth locks. Two of her arms remain the originals, but the other two are now regular, android arms, and her torso is mostly a regular humanoid one, minus part of the bottom removed to accommodate her tail. You dare say...she's actually kind of pretty now. At the very least much less monstrous.

Once she's brought back to life, Hydra looks at herself, the gentle clicking of her systems going over themselves and checking to make sure everything's in order can be heard. She opens and closes her fingers, moves her tail around, and then starts shaking almost violently, her new face contorting into a sort of "distraught by how happy she is" look.

"I..." Hydra says, stuttering. Looks like Mouse was able to keep her stereo voices, too, "I think I need to hug someone right now...like...a lot...a lot a lot..."

You hear the word "hug" and waste no time diving in, wrapping your hands around your new and improved friend. Once again, you are enveloped in an all-encompassing embrace, but with much less creepy groping on her part. Instead, all you get is her whispering "thank you" over and over, burying her head in your shoulder.

Your touching moment is suddenly cut short by a light, metallic rapping from behind you. You turn to see the door and Nike is floating there, clicking her tiny hands together nervously. "Ah, um...I'm not interrupting anything, am I?"

"Nike!" you say happily, releasing Hydra to show her off to Nike, "This is Hydra! She's fixed now!"

"Oh, uh..." Nike says, a little confused, "C-congratulations?"

You hurry over to the floating drone to give her a hug too, her diminutive hands doing their best to return it, but not really the right size to get around you. "Hydra, this is Nike. She makes deliveries and stuff."

"Hi." Hydra says, still too overjoyed to really know what's going on.

"Umm, I...is...this a bad time to ask you if you have a second?" Nike asks, gripping the strap of her satchel lightly, "There's...something I wanted to talk to you about in private..." She's eyeing Ares. Apparently he's popular today.

Hydra is chatting with Mouse about her new body right now, Mike is still glancing at Ares and Ares is just sort of obliviously watching you speak with Nike.

"Sure, I have a moment!" you say, "Ares, wait here."

"Oh...uh, okay." Ares says, stopping himself from following you. "I'll just...okay..."

You and Nike exit the workshop and head around the corner to get a little privacy. Nike stops and reaches into her bag, producing a single folded up piece of paper. On it is "NIKE" printed in very neat, clean letters. "This was left for me when I picked up the mail today. They leave all the sorted stuff for me to deliver, so I don't know who any of it's from. I just kinda bring it to where it needs to go..."

You open it and read it's contents.

Nike, I don't really know how to word this, but I will just get to the point; I think I'm falling for you. I see you flying about delivering mail, your cute little hands handing out letters to everyone, your sexy propellers spinning, your cheery greetings to everyone you pass. I can't help but watch. I really wish I could get to know you a little better, but I'm very shy. I'm very inexperienced with this kind of thing, so writing this letter is the best way I can think of to confess to you. Please, I wish to meet you near the front gate tonight. Midnight. Just you and me. Is that romantic? Sorry, my hands are a little shaky right now. Very nervous. If you can, I look forward to talking to you! If not, well, I understand I guess. Fingers crossed and heart laid bare.
-Your admirer

"S-so?" Nike says, fingers clicking away rapidly, "Uhm, what should I do? Do you think...it could be Ares? Does...does he do things like this? Is he the type to write letters like this? If not, then who? What if this is a prank or something? Or they're someone I don't really know? What should I do?"

Nike's getting a little wobbly in the air, but staring directly at you. She sounds almost panicked.

"If...if it is Ares, would...that be okay? I don't want to...I mean, he's your brother or something, right? Would that make you mad? Or...what about Selene? Wouldn't she be mad? I thought they were a thing...oh gosh, it can't be him then, can it?"

Nike continues to babble like this, jumping from one idea to the next rapidly, her fingers clicking together the entire time she speaks.

>No, I doubt it's not him, but find out anyway!
>Selene's out of the picture, so it could be! Go for it!
>Stay away from Ares
>I don't like how this sounds, don't go out there

(Turns to Ares) Hey Ares, write the words "Your admirer" on this piece of paper with this pen.

Maybe try using "propellers, Midnight and Fingers" instead, asking him to write "Your admirer" might give him the wrong message.

"Wait here for a sec." you tell Nike before hurrying back inside. You procure a piece of paper and pen from Mouse, then hand them to Ares.

"Write down 'propellers, midnight and fingers.'" you say, giving no context whatsoever.

"O...kay..." Ares says, giving you an odd look, but doing what you ask. He hands you back the paper and you run back outside to compare.

Upon closer inspection of the two, Nike completely unable to look due to shyness and worry, they are...kinda really hard to tell. They're just similar enough that it could be, but...the way the I's are dotted are kinda different and...well, dammit, this didn't really help at all. Come to think of it, would synthetics have different handwriting? You're all pretty much using similar forms of motor functions...wait, are you? Man, you don't really know much about your people, do you?

Nike looks a little sad now. "So...it could be...and it couldn't be...ooooh..." Her little hands slump in the air and she sinks a little bit. "Maybe this is all dumb and I should just give up? I wouldn't even know what to say if it was him, or even worse, if it wasn't! Most of the people here aren't really my type, anyway..."

You frown, feeling a little frustrated that you couldn't be more helpful. This sucks. Why can't this admirer person just say who they are?!

"I think you should go anyway!" you say, excited for the prospect of finding out who it is.

"Really...?" Nike says, ticktickticking faster and faster, "What...what if-"

"Do it, or I'll go in there and tell Ares you like him" you say, crossing your arms.

"O-okay, okay, don't! I'll do it!" Nike says, obviously flustered. "I...I really hope it is...him...umm...he...I just really hope it's him...oh gosh, I need to go! If I'm gonna do this, I should...oh no, I'm all dirty! I need to get a buff and detail! Ahh! Th-thank you, Pandora! I'll let you know how it goes! W-wish me luck!"

You smile at Nike and wave as she leaves, zipping around a little erratically, nearly bumping into various things as she mumbles to herself. You hope this works out for her, even if it's not Ares. She's probably the nicest person you've met since you woke up.

You head back inside and the first thing you notice as you get closer is what sounds like really pretty music. Singing? You peek inside and catch Hydra, reclining on the workbench in her best "sultry songstress" impression, singing her heart out for everyone. It's...actually beautiful. She harmonizes with herself very well, and you can tell by the expression on her face that she really enjoys doing it. Mouse and Mike are pressed up close to eachother, fingers entwined. Ares is seated on a bench, pretty enthralled by this, chin resting on his hands, eyes glued to Hydra. With this and Selene, you can only assume he really likes singers...wait...uh oh...

You frown at this, not liking where this is going. You make your way over to Ares and grabbing him by the arm, you quietly, but forcefully tell him to come with you. He's confused and a little disappointed, but he begrudgingly accepts and follows you. Lucky for you, too, because your tiny frame couldn't budge him in the slightest if you tried.

You both end up outside, you leading him away from the sound of Hydra's voices until you can no longer hear her siren song. You grumble to yourself quietly. "What was that about?" you say, angrily.

"Hydra said she felt like singing and asked if we wanted to hear." Ares says innocently, still unsure as to why you're mad, "What's wrong? I was enjoying that!"

"You shouldn't be!" you say, stomping your little foot on the ground, "It's...that...you...you just shouldn't! That's why!"

"Is...something wrong?" Ares asks, even more unsure of what's going on, "I like singing and she's really good at it. As good as Selene, even!"

"Wh-what about Selene?!" you're starting to shout now, "I thought you only liked her singing!"

"I'd only ever heard hers." Ares shrugs, "Am I not allowed to like more than one singer?"

"You're not!" you snap.

"Why?" Ares is getting indignant now. He's starting to look angry.

"Because..." you say, but catch yourself. You can't actually think of a way to explain without outright lying...but it needs to be said. "Because Nike likes you..."

"What?" Ares says, stopping in his tracks.

"Nike." you repeat, "She has those kinds of feelings for you...she has for a while, I guess...and you looking at Hydra like that...I don't want her to steal you or...something like that."

"...Oh." Ares looks down at his feet.

"And...and if you passed her up, she'd be really sad. She's a nice girl! She's my friend! I think you should like her too...or...at the very least, you should tell her that you're not interested in person, especially since you know what that's like. It's not fair to her if you make her wonder if you have feelings for them forever."

"I...I don't know, though." Ares says, still focused on his feet, "I don't even really know her at all. I don't think I've ever even spoken to her. Not even a little. Hell, I haven't done anything like this before...the only girl I've liked tried to kill me, so talking about that kind of stuff's never come up before...I'm...not good at talking..."

"Well you should still talk to her about it anyway!" you say, "I don't want my friend to get more hurt than she has to...and...and if you think you might...get feelings for her...you should...y'know...go for it or whatever."

"Okay...but, um..." Ares kicks at the dirt a little, avoiding your gaze, "Could...could I go back in and listen to Hydra some more now?"

You frown and kick him in the leg.
