"Like all great stories, this one starts off with humble beginnings. Four heroes, one destiny, and, more importantly than any of that, a massive Vault full of loot just waiting to be hunted down and opened. Seems Pandora still has secrets hiding in its dead, rotting carcass just waiting for the right psychopath to flip it over and go to town."

Baal worked for one of Dahl's many Eridium mining operations on the planet before Hyperion succeeded in their massive hostile takeover of the whole planet. Back in those days, Baal was merely a number-crunching middle manager not worthy of more than a momentary glance. Behind his average, business-y exterior beat the heart of a warrior and the mind of a calculating killer just waiting for an opportunity to break free from his corporate shackles. And, boy let me tell you, he sure as fucking hell got his wish.

As you know, there can only be a total of six Sirens in existence at any time. And, like every other friggin' Siren, Flora has been drawn to Pandora's soil through some unknown connection. A mercenary before her time on this forsaken planet, Flora already has the skills she needs to survive and packs a punch that few bandits have ever lived to warn their friends about.

>Flora's Siren Abilities manifest as the Phase Build. Use this power, she can construct large, solid objects from nothingness for a short period of time.

Henrietta is a wild child whose favorite things are violence, explosions, gunshots, and small fuzzy animals. The more bullets she can fill the air with the more excited she gets. It's kind of creepy, honestly. It's pretty obvious her career choices are about the journey (read: bloody path of destruction) and not the destination. Henrietta's fixation with firepower might maker her seem like a regular bandit, but that kind of underestimation will get you filled with holes.

>With her above average intelligence and cunning, Henrietta has rigged up a skill she calls “Hot Salvo.” She can unload all her ammo loaded in her gun in a second, dealing immense damage.

>Okay, kid, you've put it off long enough. You still got to sit through Simeon.

"Ah shaddup, you're hearing it anyway."

One of the few Vault Hunter that can claim to actually be native to Pandora. Simeon is a filthy mutated scavenger who may or may not be a cannibal. He smells, he's probably got fleas, and he has a terrible case kleptomania. What he does have going for him is a more agreeable personality than most Rats and a much more understandable grasp of speech. Simeon is such a skillful thief he can steal the gun right out of your hands! No joke. I watched once him take the weapons from three bandits who felt like harassing him. They were, like, 10 feet away, too. They just up and floated out of their hands like they were on strings!

>Simeon can steal the guns from your enemies hands! Well, as long as their within range of his weird mutant powers.

Okay you gotta choose whose the MAIN hero of the story. It's no fun if it ain't interactive. This isn't a bedtime story.

Your eyes open as you are awoken by a combination of the rough road the caravan is currently barrelling over and the almost skunk-like odor of the gas-mask wearing... thing you were forced to sit next to. You grogily leer at him and adjust your tie before checking your weapon.

You might be stranded here on a planet of psychos and corporate enemies, but you are still a Dahl employee. And, dammit, you're a good one! All you need to survive this wasteland are your standard issue Skirmish Magnum (slightly modified with some Torgue accessories for comfort and some extra oomph!) and your superior sharp wit. You take another look around at your traveling companions. The smelly, wiry man-thing in the mask is picking at some grim between his claws. You can't see his eyes but you get the feeling he is staring at you with a similar look of disdain. The women on the other side of the car seem to be hitting it off quite well. You can't hear their murmurs over the sound of the caravan moving, but it looks like they are talking about the tattooed woman's gun. The tattooed woman is wearing a duster with a torn sleeve, proudly displaying the ink. Her hair is a bright green with blue and white highlights in the bangs. The other one looks barely old enough to smoke let alone tout the massive, bulky Torgue shotgun she is currently leaning again.

"How about you, suit?" The girl speaks up and you snap your eyes to meet here. "Whatchu packin there?" She gestures to your gun.

You smile softly as you casually bring your gun up to show it to the younger girl. "Well, this would be a Dahl-made Skirmish Magnum. I've exchanged the barrel and grip for Torgue mods for a bit of a leg up if things ever came to blows." You make a chuckle at the end of your brief explanation. In the back of your head, you hear your inner peon freaking out over how you don't actually know much about your company's weaponry and how they function outside of burst fire. Clearly, you've left the impression that you might actually know something about guns. (Which you kind of don't. You're business was getting people to keep mining the dangerous purple stuff.)

"Oh that's pretty neat, uh..." She squints to read your name tag. Shit, you still have that name tag on?! "Baal? Holy Shit-Skags that's a cool name! Anyway, I'm Henrietta! This here is new baby, the Double Lovin' Pounder. Jakobs Barrel, Torgue Grip, Hyperion Stock." She sounds like she's talking about a new boyfriend... and quickly getting more excited the more she talks about the mods."Its got a nine pellet spread and a five shell mag. You conjure every ounce of managerial training to find a way to circumvent the approaching awkwardness here.

"It sounds lovely, Henrietta, and I'm so glad you're so enthusiastic about it!" You smile again as you talk cheerfully. She doesn't take the hint that you'd rather move onto another subject and continues blathering on about the mechanics of the gun as well as a few anecdotes. Your eyes quickly dart over to the woman in the duster who is leaning back and watching Henrietta's face become flush as she talks about her gun. "And what, might I ask, is your particular poison Miss..." you trail off to lead her into an answer.

She sighs and acquiesces. "The name's Flora." Her voice is a soothing low soprano. The sound caresses your ears like velvet, though it almost seems disjointed when paired with her far-from-fair physique. She brandishes a sleek gunmetal grey rifle. You notice a red hammer and sickle decal spray painted onto the side of the gun. "Forlorn Rifle. Vladof-make. Refurbished S&S barrel and grip. Little more than a bandit rip-off, though." She has about as much care for the make-up of her weapon as you do yours.

Cannibilism is a fine choice on Pandora. After some murderhobo vault hunter gusts through town there are 100s of corpses just left in the street like no-one gives a fuck. That's a lot of meat! Nice tender meat too, not like the tough, usually toxic, meat you get from the monsters round here.

Flora looks at you with eyes that shift between yours and the form of the... man?... next you.

"So you know what the deal with the Rat is?" She asks you in a low voice, barely audible above grinding and pinging of the caravan. "He kind of creeps me out."

"I can hear you jussst fine." The Rat hisses through his gasmask. "My name is SSSimeon. And I'm here to do the sssame thing you are: open a Vault and reap the rewardsss." His head lulls lazily as he talks. Henrietta is about to ask something, but Simeon cuts her off, holding up both an SMG and a Sniper rifle. "Jussst look for yourssself. I don't really know much about them. I sssimply just nicked them off sssome bandits on the way to the busss ssstop."

Boy to they look like Bandit tech. You've never seen so many magazine shoved onto one submachinegun before. Its no wonder S&S went out of business on Pandora. Henrietta's eyes sparkle as she studies the rugged, brightly painted weapon. The rifle is clearly Maliwan. Probably with a fire element to it, judging my the red-orange glow of the lights.

"So..." You start out, a little unsure about asking the question you've already started to ask. "Do you... do you eat people? Not that there's anything wrong with that? I'm just curious."

"Well, you ssse-" His reply gets cut of by a sound that is very much NOT from the caravan.

It looks like your caravan has wandered into the crossfire between two groups. On your side of the the bus, you hear one of the age-old addages of Psycho bandit kind: "DEATH IS A SODA!" Do you know what it means? No. Is it poignant? Possibly. Does it make them any less crazy? Hahah, hell no. The bus and its escorts could easily run over the lot of them with little difficultly, you think to yourself, leaning away from the window, just in case one of them gets the idea to throw a buzzaxe at the windows.

That's when the bus swerves wildly, knocking you in between Flora and Henrietta. You're dazed, but you can hear something again.

"TARGET ACQUIRED. HOSTILITY PROTOCOLS ENGAGED."

Oh hey, its Hyperion. OH SHIT ITS HYPERION! You fumble for your gun as you shout to your companions to that you might have a fight on your collective hands.

You make a worried grimace out the window for a moment before turning to the other travelers aboard the bus. Henrietta seems to have gotten a face-full of the side of her shotgun's stock and is bleeding from the nose a little. Flora is attempting to keep everyone calm. From his body language, you get a sense that Simeon is uneasy and ready to spring into action (though you don't know if that action is to fight or to flee) but can't really tell much else from the Rat.

"We've got Hyperion and Bandits out there." You address them calmly, trying to hide your own anxiety about the situation. "We need to think of a plan before either side decides they want to take out the bus diving through their gunfire."

Everyone briefly looks at each other worriedly (except Simeon behind that stupid gasmask) and starts brainstorming strategy.

The camera unfreezes and shifts back to the bus door for a few seconds waiting for Henrietta but jerks up violently

Henrietta pops out of the top of the bus, screaming and giggling with delight as she pulls the trigger on her explosive shotgun. The gyrojets in the projectiles flare to life making the pellets move a bit slower, but look cooler. A fair trade off, to be sure. Small explosions find their marks over the chassis of the closest loader and another nearby robot. Suddenly another far larger loader lands on the back of the bus, caving in the back slightly and jostling the petite Henrietta. Turning to look at it both you and the gun maniac realize this is a WAR Loader, much tougher than the average GUN Loader or EXP Loader. It doesn't seem to worry Henrietta though. She reloads and flips a switch on a small electronic on her left wrist. Her shotgun glows red for a moment as you hear a constant, cacophonous medley of explosions as Henrietta unloads all five rounds in her magazine into the robot for critical damage!

Again the scene freezes briefly as more words slide into place. "also Henrietta as The Gunbunny"

I can't think of a fitting theme for Simeon, so I'm going to let you think up one.

Unfreezing the camera pans under the destroyed Loader as...

Simeon's lithe form slithers between the broken steel slats that guarded the bus's glass viewing panels and drops to the ground in a forward somersault. His sniper rifle appears in his hands and a bolt of fire erupts from the barrel, lighting a confused Psycho on fire. However, Simeon was unlucky in his improvised entrance to the battle. He is suddenly flanked by 3 gun-wielding bandits. If you could see it, you would be sure the Rat is smirking as the bandits raise their weapons to open fire. A blue aura flickers into existence around Simeon's head as well as his enemies guns. As if they had a mind of their own, the guns wrench themselves free of their owners and land at Simeon's feet. The shocked bandits look up to see that the Rat has switched out weapons to his smig just in time to be blown away.

The freeze-frame returns and more words appear. "Simeon as The Rat"
>>
The camera pans back to Baal, who is on his back in a sea of bullet-ridden corpses of his making, fires his pistol into the gut of the Psycho that is on top of him. Fighting it off and getting back on his feet, he turns to see that the rest of the bandits lie dead and a wall of white and yellow painted steel machines march to kill him. He flinches as he hears the guns fire... but no rounds hit him. He opens his eyes and sees a bluish-purple cube directly in front of him.

The camera pans swiftly back to the bus's busted door and out walks Flora

Flora's duster sways in the wind as she rests her rifle on her shoulder. Her tattoos are actually glowing the same color as the cube! With a grunt she move her hand and her conjured object moves with it as if pushed by a great force. It knocks into the firing line of robots, utterly smashing them to pieces. The woman flexes her arm as the glow flickers out. She grins at you and you return the expression.

Again the image freezes on a close up of her from the torso up. "And Flora as The Siren." slides in. The camera zooms back out as you and the other Vault Hunters regroup with Flora at the bus. One final freeze frame on the four of you congratulated yourselves as the title stamps into place. "Borderlands: Vault Hunter Quest."

All of you share a chuckle as you pat each other on the back. Even Simeon feels like getting involved in the camaraderie. After a few minutes, all four of you inspect the damage to the caravan. As you thought, there is very little left. You four are probably the only survivors. There could be something left to scavenge though.

>>

>Isn't that obvious? Loot the corpses!
>Also, if anyone has an Echo, pull up a map and see where the nearest settlement is.

Henrietta and Simeon scavenge the bodies for loot, while we and Flora see if the bus still runs, if we can't at least keep it moving to the nearest outpost. We don't want to stay here any longer than necessary.
>>
>>1279306
Loot the dead for guns, sheilds, grenades and mods, artifacts and money. Restock ammo. Find an echo (if we don't have one, which as a Dahl man we should since Dahl makes them) and head towards the nearest settlement after we get a feel of where we are.
>>
You don't even have to tell your compatriots anything. You turn around and see Henrietta and Simeon rummaging around the dead bodies and broken machinery. You turn again and Flora, who was on the other side of you, is moving back into the bus. You opt to join the Siren in searching around the bus.

Rummaging over the corpse of a Nomad, Henrietta finds a Blast proof Explosive Spike Shield of Blue Rarity. Granting explosion damage reduction on top of its 105 Capacity and does significant damage to melee attackers. The downside is its long recharge delay time at 4 1/2 seconds.

Simeon uncovers a Blue shield jammed into the wiring of a Loader. It is an Absorb Shield. Only 65 Capacity, but has a 27% chance of absorbing bullets while the shield is up. recharge delay time is only 2 seconds.

Both of them also find Basic Shields of 50 capacity. Recharge delay for both is 2 1/2 seconds.

Everything else in the mess is worthless junk or weapons that do less damage than what any four of you are currently equipped with. All of it is sold for a whopping $2,032 into your collective savings.

Baal decides to leave the bus's function to the capable hands of Flora. She has already removed the partially, eviscerated corpse of your driver through the broken driver-side window. Instead, you return to your suitcase where you had been storing some of your corporate supplies. If you can't get the bus back up and running, you're going to need a few things from there. First on your list is your ECHO device. Opening it, you find the device. You wonder why you didn't have on you before hand. It's quite a handy little thing. You place it on your belt opposite your gun and find that you actually have a few extras that were handed down from your supervisor to give to any new employees you might be given later. You put them under your arm and make your way back to Flora. You're sure that your survival warrants giving away company property. After all, it isn't like Dahl doesn't already hand them out like they were going out of style.

"Flora." You address her, making jerk her head up, nearly hitting the steering wheel in the process. "Sorry. Here's an ECHO. I've got a few spare from work." You give a brief explanation as you toss her the electronic device. She utters a thanks and places it on the back of her belt. She looks like she's about to ask you something, but you continue talking. "So... what was that cube thing back there?"

She sits up and looks right at you. You surmise this is far from the first time she's been asked that. "I'm what's known as a Siren. One of six beings in the universe with these kinds of mysterious powers. Apparently all of our powers are unique to us. I've been calling mine Phase Build since, you know, I can create heavy shapes like that block. Its pretty hand when it comes to taking in bounties." She hunches back down to mess with some of the wires under the dashboard. Now its seems like its her turn to ask the questions.

"So... You worked for Dahl, huh? What did you do there?"

>Evasive "Yeah, something like that."
>Elaborate "I was a General Manager at one of the mining outposts East of Fyrestone before Hyperion wrecked the place and looted our Eridium. I'm pretty lucky to have made it out alive."
>Exagerrate "Yeah. I was pretty high up there, too. In charge of most of the E Mining Operations out here." (rolld100 -10 to impress)

Whoops misread everything somehow.
"How the bus doing?" You bring up.

"Well the good news is the ignition system is perfectly fine. Downside is the shot through the radiator. We can go a bit further before the engine block overheats and the pistons fuse to their casings. So... not too great. We'd need a real good mechanic to fix this mess."

Well that sucks. But at least you can probably still get to civilization.

You nod your head and shrug. "I was the GM for one the E Mining Facilities out East past Fyrestone a while back. You know, before Hyperion came in, killed everyone and looted all the Eridium we'd mined up that week. I'm pretty lucky to have made it out alive like I did. Somehow managed to even get my briefcase out of there." You chuckle at the image of yourself trouncing through the Dust with the Dahl branded piece of luggage. Honestly its all you have left to remind yourself of your friends and coworkers you tolerated. That and your pistol. But you're being a little too introspective to notice Henrietta and Simeon have walked up behind you with their loot and money.

"BAAL!" the Gunbunny shouts, making you nearly jump out of your skin in surprise. "Haha! Gotchu!" She and Simeon high-five. Seems like the two have bonded a little over their love of robbing corpses. Beautiful.

"Har har. So what did you find?" You sarcastically laugh with them and cross your arms. Henrietta and Simeon dig through their things and pull out a few pieces of equipment.

"A lot their loot wasss nothing ssspecial." Simeon is the first to pipe up. "But we did find a few Rare SSSShieldsss." The show you both Blue-rated Shields.

"Not gonna lie to you, suit, I'm calling dibs on the Spike Shield. I think it'll work real good with my gimmick." Her voice is still as cheery as every but her face is deadly serious.

"I couldn't care lessss about the Absorb SSSShield. Sssso that's between you and Flora."

"Sounds good." You reply to them both as Flora joins the three of you. "I have a gift for you. I had a few spare ECHO devices from work. I'm sure you'd make good use of it." Henrietta has a look on her face similar to Flora's when you told her about your past employment. "Already went through that, Henrietta. Yeah I worked for Dahl. Hyperion literally murdered my job, so I moved on to being a Vault Hunter." The look fades into slight disappointment about not being able to rib out about being a corporate pawn. Simeon's shoulders move up and down like he is silently laughing at the exchange.

Flora looks over at the shields Simeon is holding out to the two of you.

"Its your call, Baal. I don't have a preference, either."

Damn Henrietta and her Dibs! Oh well. You decide that the absorption rate and higher capacity doesn't make much of a difference to you either.

"I'll take the Basic Shield." You reach your hand out and grab the Basic Shield. The HUD from your ECHO updates to account for an active shield. You blink a little as the whole HUD apparatus starts up. Your companions do something similar, save for Simeon. Flora takes the Absorb Shield and delivers the news about the bus.

After consulting the map, the four of you discover a small refuge located just North of your current location. Some place called Shin Splint. Sounds a little Bandit-y, but it's probably fine.

You decide to take one last look at the outer storage areas in the bus while everyone else prepares the bus. You step outside and first open the space under the carriage.

"Greetings, Traveler!" A synthetic, yet nasally voice grates against your mind as a small, boxy robot waves its arm out of the hold. "It seems you've found me in a very compromising position. I'd be real grateful if you could help get me out of here!"

Borderlands one is where the franchise begins. Vault hunters show up manipulated by jack and his daughter to open a vault kill what's inside and make pandora's eridium content explode. It also bankrupts s&s and Atlas. Making them leave entirely. This let's Hyperion take control of the planet. Pre-sequel is about Jack's rise to power on Pandora's moon. He takes over Hyperion. 2 starts after Jack has taken over most of Pandora and destroyed most other civilization and competitor's stakes. He used the Pre-sequel gang and mad dish off of the Eridium mines and E-tech guns Hyperion to beat up border land 1's protags and it fall to the cast of borderland 2 to beat him before he wipes everyone else out.

You sigh and stare hard at the robot for a moment. Its glowing cyclopian robot eye studies your features while it blathers on about how it got in that position as well admit to its crippling loneliness.

"Fine. Let me get some people I know. They're better at robots than I am." You grumble and turn away. Its Hyperion tech, but its not actively trying to kill you, so... there's that. You walk back into the Van/Bus interrupting a conversation on how best to heat up week-old skag meat ravioli. "So... turns out the a tiny robot stuck in the cargo hold."

Henrietta groans and responds. "That's Claptrap. Its a general purpose robot built. Discontinued line from Hyperion. Makes it pretty rare. Downside is he's an annoying pervy little bugger, so no one will buy him off me. I stuffed him in there to get him to stop humping my leg." Flora actually laughs a little at this thought and you just sigh again.

The three of you leave Simeon to continue to prep the van/bus.

"Ah! Hello again, Travelers! And Henrietta, too! Come crawling back to ol' Claptrap have you? Well I still love ya, babe, so no hard feelings about sticking me in here! Just give me a hand getting out!" He voice is still so overbearingly cheerful it makes Henrietta sound absolutely dour in comparison.

After a little bit of elbow grease (and actual grease) you manage to unwedge Claptrap and remove him from the storage area.

"You're a Vault Hunter? Bull." You fold your arms and leer at him disbelievingly.

"Not all, mi amigo! See I went to the moon with a Gladiator Assassin, a Bounty Hunter, a Law Woman, a Body Double, and a Noblewoman. Except our rocket crashed and a renegade Dahl group attacked us and we teamed up with some douche-y programmer and helped him take over Hyperion and unsealing the Vault up there. Then he shot me and took my stair-climbing tire but then Hammerlo-" You start to zone out from his story. Its absurd and is poorly constructed. Buuut its not the most unbelievable story you've heard. At least for the moment, its presence could be useful; even if that only means that Claptrap will draw some bullets with its shootable face.

"Fine, whatever. You can stick around as long as you sit down and don't molest anyone." You shake a firm finger at him.

"Not! A! Problemo! Buddy!" He salutes you playfully. Before rolling over to the entrance to the bus. "So can someone pick me up or something I can't climb stairs." He looks back at you. You look to Henrietta. Henrietta looks at Flora. Flora rolls her eyes and conjures a cube under the small robot, lifting him just enough to be able to roll into the vehicle.

"We're all ssset to go. I put asss much fluid as I could into the radiator ssso hopefully the patch will hold it til Shin Sssplint. We're not pretty, but we'll get there." He says with as much confidence one would put in a hastily put together soapbox car. "Maybe."

"Great job, new pals! Your mechanical prowess will be infinitely useful in the small and confined spaces of Shin Splint!" Claptrap announces jubilantly. You can't help but frown at his overt sarcasm, though his voice's programmed cheeriness makes it hard to discern.

You roll your eyes and throw an empty beer bottle at Claptrap. The bottle misses and shatters on contact with the steel backing of the van.

"Settle down back there! We'll ask for your advice when we need it." You inform him in a commanding voice.

"You're going to need me?! Great! I await my return to the spotlight!" The robot spins around in perceived triumph before being silent for the moment. With that out of the way, Flora sits down behind the wheel and, with many cheers and sighs of relief, starts the van back up without much problem.

After a few minutes on the road, you decided to continue talking to Simeon. "So before that whole fight happened you were saying something. Are you a cannibal?"

Simeon rolls his head in slight annoyance. "I sssssuppose I ssstill have to ansssswer that. Well, you see I-"

Again as if on cue, you hear Bandits on the approach. This time you hear the roar of their Technicals and the buzzing of the blade launchers firing.

"The hatch!" Flora shouts from her position in the driver's seat. "Simeon! Mind if I borrow your smig? Hard to use a full rifle up here."

"I'll want it back when they're gone!" He hisses as he tosses his SMG to the Siren.

As you climb out of the hatch, the wind hits your face like a wet rag, almost forcing you back down. You find your grip again and pull yourself onto the top of the bus. The action seems to have just started as you were on your way.

Henrietta is firing as fast as she can, the gyro jets in the explosive pellets leave a follow-able trail through the air. She curses as the shells mostly miss their target before ducking returning fire behind some of the luggage on top. On the other side of the van, Simeon's sniper skills are in top form. The Rat is hitting his targets for critical damage, but even then the damage seems to be resisted. Lighting metal on fire is just futile as you already know.

All those ads about Dahl precision are true and your gun is a testament to that!

Your shots are true and, with a loud bang, the bandits' tire burst and sends the vehicle into a violent somersault through the air and dirt. Henrietta cheers at the display of carnage and takes another shot at the next bandit car. While not an instant wreck, the explosive shots obliterates most of the head and torso of the driver as well as his accompanying Psycho friend. The now driverless vehicle veers severely and into the next car over. At a quick glance, the raiding party has only 3 vehicles left to it.

"Time for hostile takeover of my own!" You shout as you make a running leap onto enemy vehicle.

"What the fuck?!" Simeon shouts in almost perfect unity with Flora as both are shocked by your action. Henrietta cheers and hollers at you with renewed excitement.

The good news is you managed to not be run over, instantly shot by the bandits, or miss completely and get left in the dust. The bad new is you are now by yourself on a bandit vehicle. You still have your gun and the driver can't really shoot at you effectively, but the car still has an accompanying Psycho on the back who is more than a little surprised at your initiative.

"A NEW FRIEND FOR THE MEAT CIRCUS!"

The Psychopath takes a swing at you with his axe.

Getting the driver killed while we're busy with the psycho spunds like a bad move. The car cpuld go out of control or would come to a stop and we'd fall behind or be sitting ducks for the other bandit vehicles.

Its a good thing Psychos are a strange mix of predictable and completely irrational. It makes them so easy to goad into doing what you want. As he winds up his axe arm, you dive between him and his driver.

"HOLD STILL I NEED YOUR SKIN FOR MY FACE CHAIR!" He maniacally screams as he swings down. You drop down and hear the sickening sound of the axe digging into base of the driver's neck. It wasn't quite his head, but you suppose its all the same in the end. You start to pat yourself on the back when the car begins to jerk wildly. Seems killing the driver before getting in a position to take control safely was kind of a short-sighted plan. It's not that bad yet, you think to yourself, as you get back on your feet.

Luckily enough, the Psycho lost his balance and fell to floor of the Technical. The car is listing to the right rapidly, but its slowing down enough you aren't in danger of hitting the van unless something drastic happens.

In the excitement of your daring, you feel like the world around you slows down and the paths of your foes will take become so much easier to read. You slide your way into the the seats of the Technical and boot the bandit bleeding out in the driver's seat out. His bodies tumbles end over end before coming to rest as a motionless mound of limbs and blood shrinking into the distance. Now in control of the vehicle, you turn your torso to face the Psycho still attempting to get up off the floor.

"Sorry, friend, but your services are no longer needed here." You smirk before pointing your gun at his face and squeezing the trigger. Like his bandit friend, the psycho tumbles back into the dusty scenery and out of your hair.

>Quick Wit ends. Cooldown period will end in 3 turns.

You now have complete control over this technical. Glancing at the controls, you find that this vehicle allows you to both remotely control the Blade Thrower turret as well as the forward mounted machine gun on the nose of the car. Neat!

>Drive up next to the Van/Bus to show off and pick up Henrietta and Simeon to go murder some fools.

You hit the accelerator and quickly catch up to your friends. You steer right next to the driver's side, firing the machine gun at some of the other Technicals to ward them away for a while. Henrietta is leaning over the cargo railing with a wide smile on her face.

"Baal! I can't believe you did that! I love it!" She cheers and claps her hands.

"That wasss recklessss, sssuit." Simeon briefly moves his head to look at you before getting back to looking down the scope of his gun. His movements are a little sharper, betraying some frustration. Seems he isn't content until he manages to catch up with everyone else's kill count.

"I agree with Simeon." Flora shouts from the inside the Van/Bus. "That's something a psycho does. Definitely not something I expected from some middle manager, Dahl Corporation or not." Her stern stare softens after a second and gets replaced with a smirk. "Though it was quite impressive and effective. Plus now we don't have to worry about when the Van dies. Maybe we can get into a Catch-A-Ride. Could be handy. There's probably a station in Shin Splint."

"Maybe..." You admit to them, though inside your own head, you're screaming at yourself about how you nearly killed yourself several times over in the last 30 seconds. "Anyway, Henrietta, Simeon, hop on! We're going to go blast some bandits. We'll be back after a few more bandits bite the dust."

"I think I'll ssstay here." Simeon shouts, not looking up from his gun. "Itsss a more even sssplit that way."

"Suit yourself, stinky!" Henrietta shouts as she jumps into the gunner's seat of the technical. "Imma gonna murderize some psychos! WOOOO! Hit it, Baal!"

You and Henrietta are wrenched back in your seats as the car rockets forwards at an incredible pace. The younger girl howls with excitement and brings the Blade Thrower around to face the first bandit car you come across. The familiar buzzing of the blades in the air is a little more relaxing knowing that its coming from your Technical. The first blades cleave the bandit car's gunner completely in half, spooking the driver, who breaks off in an attempt to flee.

Not really. Baal is just far more capable than he initially expected himself to be. Yeah, he's a quick thinker and a not-too-bad shot with his pistol, but at no point did he think he would be hijacking a bandit buggy by leaping onto it like an action hero. He's a Vault Hunter only by way of circumstance; he wasn't prepared to be this good.

"RAMMING SPEED!" You shout as you jerk the towards the bandit car. Henrietta screams in surprise but quickly starts laughing at the violence you are displaying. It seems like your behavior was not something the bandits expected and several of them are rocked out of their vehicle and are left in the dust like ragdolls. Your voice joins the Gunbunny's in victorious cheers as she starts firing the blade turret again. The bandits scream as they are ripped to shreds by the flying shards of steel. She even manages to catch the driver in the head, causing the enemy vehicle to veer wildly and crash spectacularly. Your cheers get even louder as you slowly are rejoined with your companions on the Van/Bus.

The way i see it, going by the Borderlands skill system, Ball can evolve in 3 skill trees:
-One that makes him go full psycho salaryman, strangling bandits with his tie before shoving pencils in their eyes and blasting them with his company-issued standard firearm.
-One that has him use his incredible number-crunching skills to become the ultimate killer, calculating the trajectory of bullets to make humanely impossible shots.
-And the last one, one that has him use his contacts from the company and deal-making skills to become the ultimate supplier of goods from all across Pandora, gathering a stash of unlimited supplies that he keeps in the most unexpected places (a briefcase filled with enough explosives to level a building? Baal has it. Some encryption keys for those special Hyperion locked loot-boxes? He can hook you up. The coordinates of a secret bunker filled with bandits that hoard E-tech guns? For the right price, he'll point you the right way.)

"Good job everybody. Great teamwork! Great synergy!" Your inner manager rears its head and you give everyone a thumbs up. Simeon, who is resting his hand on the stock of his rifle, sighs heavily and shakes his head. Henrietta returns the thumbs up with a giggle.

"Right... Synergy." Flora smirks as she glances at you briefly. "Looks like we're coming up on Shin... Splint?" She trails off as she looks forward. You turn to look and you see a town in the distance. It looks like the typical shanty towns that spring up in the desert like fungus, but... above it sits a massive, robot standing on three legs, overlooking the sands of the Dust.

From what little I've played of the first game, it fits the overall tone fairly well. The Vault Hunters are just outlandish enough yet still remain the most sane things on the planet. It's interesting seeing how things play out in this pseudo-space western post-apocalypse mess. It's got me thinking of running something based on WildStar.
