The moon below him burns.

The Necrolyte Commander stood on the bridge of his command ship watching the holoscreen display the forests of Scatters moon ablaze. Separate miles wide forest and brush fires begin connecting as the undead seem to purposely be using the flames to flush out the hidden survivors and act as a futile barrier against the Armadan forces. Necrolytes and Trolls deploy with dragonscale armor, the stalwart warriors striding unhindered through the flames during their missions.

Scatters itself was a patchwork of besieged townships reinforced by Necrolyte and Reconstructed troops. Locals are given simple weaponry and armor to help defend themselves as carrier ships descend to carry off the refugees to safety in orbit. Persistent sandstorms in other areas of the world help provide some cover and slow the ever advancing hordes of undead which are harassed by artillery fire from Battletombs and Crawlers while Devastators dig trenches and pits to slow down their advances.

Elsewhere in the system the main planet of Hearth is reinforced by a blockade of corvettes, frigates, and cruisers to prevent the passage of any craft containing undead. The local picket fleet consisting of a ragtag array of incredibly varied ships broadcasting their heartfelt thanks for the relief as they are finally able to rest and recuperate without fear of letting a shuttle packed full of undead to sneak past.

Raiding patrols were sent to harass the ramshackle "shipyards" of Junkyard. Piercing Nails and other long-ranged ships using kinetic rounds to snipe from a safe distance from the enemy craft. In a significant strike a Plasma Weaver Cruiser uses its advanced skip drive to appear nearly on top of a large formation of ships catching them flatfooted. Its powerful weapons unleash a massive wave of roiling necrotic energy that washes over the undead shuttles and strikecraft made of salvaged ships and leaves a scattering of glowing wreckage from the craft it did not incinerate outright.

As the Think Tanks suspected, with the new unified front of resistance the undead seemed to be becoming more cautious in their attacks and moving with a more deliberate intent. Captured zombies and ghouls of various races were taken to the command ship and dumped into the starships Cauldron to analyze these new undead.

The Necrolyte Commander ran a thumb across the shard of carved chitin in his hand while he looked over the display of the system. Clenching a fist around the shard of Jadyk armor he solidifies his resolution to secure and protect the Refuge system, turning sharply to address his officers and deploy new orders.

The Necrotic Armada has come to save the people of Refuge and the Necrolyte Legion would do its best to assure this victory.

Completed Research:
>Viral Warfare: The use of genetically modified viral agents and other microorganisms as biological weapons has long been decried and regulated as a war-crime between civilizations.

Research Special: Crystalline Hardlight Inspiration - While working on the experiments into weaponizing hardlight structures a Think Tank had the inspired idea to use Crystalline tech as the projectors rather than the traditional complex array of lenses after hearing the Netu Captain Troma mention a legend about the Crystalline Minds remarkable technology. This lead to a very prosmising discovery that the natural fractal prisms of the crystalline structures allowed for the creation of increasingly complex hardlight structures by refracting and focusing light energy.
>Hardlight Weaponry: Using hardlight structures either as melee weapons or at range as volatile photonic projectiles
>Hardlight Armor: Miniaturizing the projectors for personal hardlight armor to add another layer to personal protection has been an elusive target until now

Unlocked:
>Hardlight Blades: Using crystalline emitters blades of photonic energy can be constructed for use in battle. While not as powerful in cutting power as the top of the line thermal vibroblades, the hardlight blades are unbreakable by virtue of being made out of light but emitters put through extensive stress or overheating such as prolonged battle will lead to the blade failing. Objects that come in contact with the blades are subjected to extreme thermal energies as the rapidly decaying construct is replaced with new energetic constructs several times a second.

Passive Weapon Upgrade:
>Hardlight Projectiles: Weapons that utilize elemental energy gain a range bonus after adapting techniques used for hardlight emitters. Flenser, Flayer, and Wave weapons gain a range bonus, affects both soldier and ship based weapons.

>Hardlight Armor: By embedding complex array of crystalline emitters into the plating of Reconstructed or armor a unit can project a suit of hardlight structures for defensive measures. The armor absorbs kinetic attacks and provides a moderate defense against energy attacks but sustained and prolonged use will lead to the emitters overheating or breaking down.

As the Armadans return from their visit to Clour, many of them carrying memorabilia from their previous life and precious commodities the Armada could not provide, they arrive at Iti'a'Ropku at nearly the same time as the next batch of refugees from Kanda to join the Armada. The landing zones at the borders of the city were busy as numerous people returned home and others arrived to a new home.

Greeted once more by Jor and Red-Leaf-Strains the pair of Necromancers took it upon themselves to welcome every new batch of arrivals. Even another Osogo herd, this time a Swampwalker tribe from the marshes and swamps to the south, was nearing the city. Used to a warm, muggy climate they struggled with the snow but were making progress with the aid and supplies left for them at the campsites previous herd had stopped at, each stop becoming something of a landmark for their pilgrimage.

News came from the Stonestar population, proudly announcing the maturation of a new generation of Stonestar. They were the first Stonestar larva to successfully mature away from Bastion and in the artificial hot springs needed for their growth. These new Stonestar were raised in their larva stage being told the stories of the Lavafather and the Armada, how Jadyk offered them a new home and how lucky they were to have a place here in Iti'a'Ropku. A Stonestar Necromancer, given the name Klikli by his Necromancer cohorts, has overseen their transition into young adulthood, the young echinoderms given armor of chitin marked with wormrunes of blessing and protection.

Population boost:
>110 Stonestar

There were other new initiates into the Armada that did not make an appearance at Iti'a'Ropku. Instead a mix of refugee volunteers along with osjiic and ahkam prisoners who had agreed to serve the Armada were shipped to Legions Home in the Urdir system. With a large portion of the Legion already deployed handling the situation in Refuge a pair of Voidknight Disciples volunteered to assist the instructing Necrolyte officers in training the new recruits. Knowing there was some risk of rebellion and conflicts by having so many former enemy soldiers grouped together there was a larger than normal presence of Reconstructed soldiers waiting in hiding in case of emergencies.

Deep in an unnamed ice world a cloned Sunscale was being prepared for Reconstruction as more of it's genetic duplicates were being awoken in a different chamber. The Worker was given its first decent meal of cloned rukorian eel and crustacean to its delight. A gift of gratitude for the sacrifice it was about to make, or so Raakah explained but Valresko said nothing. Instead his attention was on the incoming arrival of a transport carrying a mix of Necrolytes and refugees that all resonated with the Solar to be granted the title and powers of a Solar Arbiter.

The construction of the Rukorian city was nearing completion as the island topography was changed by walls of organic bone and spires of twisted metal. Piers of floating bone reach out from the shore like fingers where ructu ships would soon dock. The same ructu ships were seen in the distance, sloops and large sailed fishing ships daring to get a glimpse after following the numerous stream of ships arriving and departing for space. The ructu elders have sent word to Jor, asking if they could assist in any way and the human passes the message along with a suggestion of beginning recruitment of possible Necromancers among their ranks.

Among the Armatocere the Harbinger has made progress searching among their citizenry, a rather dazzling array of various plantlife, and have discovered some interesting trends. Among the cacti-like beings that seemed to serve as their military had a decent amount of Void sensitives among their ranks with a smaller percentage of Arc senstives. Among the other races there were also a range of Void, Arc, and Solar potentials that seemed to reflect trends of certain aspects appearing more commonly in some than others. It wasn't very surprising there were few, if any Necrotic potentials among their number. A pale-leafed member of Sapling Slrrts race and a stunted cacti among the handful.

There was a small message from Voidknights Jareth and Lorgul where they mention the rather staggering amount of osjiic Voidsingers captured during the B'Nan Invasion. Twenty of their number had already pledged loyalty to the Legion, many of them disillusioned from a life of engineering and factory work or weary of the bleak existence in the Empire, but there remained seventy-five that still refused to pledge loyalty with varying levels of resistance. Jareth marks among their number at least six that could become Disciples, most of these subdued in combat against Disciples themselves and Lorgul cuts in saying the rest are either too green or far along in their Void consumption to be of use for individual Reconstruction if they do not crack and join the Legion.

This reminder also brought to mind the rather large amounts of other elemental sensitives among the prisoners and refugees. Even a few days prior the Necrolyte Commander requested more elemental soldiers for the Legion, their powers and enhanced weaponry a mighty boon and morale booster to the common soldier in the battlefield.

There was much to do and tend to. What shall you do first?

In regards to elemental potential, we still haven't started to develop a lower order for the Punishers. It will be tricky to do since their element is not a conventional one since the only instances of it come from the Lava Father, but I'd prefer if the Punishers were not left out.
>>
>>1231221
It's beem specified that reforging is not an elemental power, it's just combo geomancy+pyrokenisis.

Also we made reforged cauldrons a project awhile ago.

>>1231342
Forget about the first point. As for the second one, what I meant was LIVING members. Each of the other generals, as well as Jor, has their own order, so I just thought that it might be a good idea to look into imbuing the living with that power, but to a lesser degree until they have mastered it and become Punishers. themselves

In one of the largest chambers of the Stonestars subterranean home the majority of the Armadan stonestar were gathered. On a large central platform the newly matured stonestar sat and watched as groups of their peers dueled in the center of the platform while the other members ringed the stage and spread out through the chamber. They were either relaxing in bubbling springs or perched in scaffolding that served as seating for the nimble race, the chamber filled with the countless clattering of their cheering. There was one raised platform where a group of musicians played the strange array of instruments they had brought with them from Bastion, adding to the echoing din.

The new adults were eager fighters, excited to test their new forms in playful combat between each other. Already they wore the segmented plates of chitin and bone that made up their armor as easily as if were a natural exoskeleton, a Domination Spike painlessly inserted when they were first fitted. They lacked the clusters of sting whips only possessing one in the end of each limb, not yet having undergone the vivisection ceremony that came after their first battles, but they fought skillfully with them using the cartilaginous barbs to trip their opponents. The winning duelist was the fighter who could flip their opponent onto their back and pin three of their limbs to the ground.

You watched these displays through the eyes of the flatbody gargoyles that were constant in their tunnels, a number of them coiled among the roof stalactites or the scaffolding, while you moved through the tunnels. Lacking your Throne due to the bulky construct being ungainly in the sometimes claustrophobic tunnels you sat with your legs crossed while floating through the passages silently.

Their duels were overseen by the Necromancer Klikli who stood to the side watching proudly, the other Necromancer Stonestar enlisting with the Legion to assist with the Refuge operations. The flat gargoyle they had taken as a familiar uses its bone-spurs to tap out a message detailing your arrival and Klikli suddenly clacks their armor together rapidly while lifting up onto two limbs to stretch out the other three to gather the crowds attention. The chamber falls silent as cheerclicks faded and instruments stilled or deflated, Necromancer Klikli landing on all limbs as their armor clicks out, the spot on the platform letting their coded language ring out in the acoustically designed chamber to reach all gathered.

"It is my honor to welcome Lord Jadyk here among us, his loyal subjects!" he calls out and a clattering of applause fills the chamber with noise once more as you drift into the chamber. Many of the stonestar gathered, including all of the young adults, pose in supplication with their new symbol for the Wormstar, their feet held in place while their body twists to resemble a star with curling rays.
>>
>>1231426
Rising up to your full height you approach the center platform, floating over the crowd until you land in the center of the chamber and lift your hands, the crowd quickly falling silent once more. Your voice rings out, speaking Wormtongue but each of the Armadan stonestars possessed a domination spike allowing them to understand your words, "You all honor me with your faith and loyalty," you say with a bow.

A round of clattering applause rang out for a few seconds before you turn to regard the gathered young stonestar, the group looking up at you open admiration and awe, "I would like to personally welcome you all, you are the first generation born here in your tribes new home. With you, the bond between the Stonestar and the Armada is further cemented and I am honored to have you in my Armada. I have high hopes for you all and know I shall not be disappointed," you say and are temporarily drowned out by another round of cheerclicks and you wait for it to pass, "You are all born free of the sin against the Lavafather, but know he does not hate those that did betray him. Instead I am certain you will be able to further convince him of your peoples virtue and worth. I am certain the honor and glory you will bring to the Armada will make him proud, as will I."

The crowd rippled with a wave of guilt and moroseness at the reminder of their banishment but the exuberance of the young stonestars helped elevate their moods again as you continued, "The Stonestar will become an integral part of the Armada and I know you all will strive to bring the wisdom and benevolence of the Wormstar and the Armada to the rest of the Galaxy. They will know that no other people are more loyal and determined as the Stonestar to the cause of the Armada and for this I thank you once more," you say, the last words drowned out by the surging of cheering as you bow once more.

Was there anything you wished to say to the Stonestar before departing?
>>
>>1231432
They are adorable, I wish I had something really cool to say to them.
>>
>>1231432
>I'm sure your will all become proud member of the Armada, and I know your people is eager to fight, if you wish to enter the Legion, adress to Klikli or his Necromancian brother. Who know, maybe some of your are as gifted as they are?

>>
>>1231432
The young adults seemed ready to return to their playful duels, their energy overflowing from the excitement of maturation and the rush they felt as you praised them. You still had to address a small concern of isolation among the Stonestar citizens.

Lifting your hands once more the chamber falls silent and all eyes turn to your alien form, gesturing to the young stonestar "I am sure you will all become proud members of the Armada, and I know you are all eager to prove yourselves in battle. If you wish to join the Necrolyte Legion to go out among the stars and alien battlefields, feel free to come forward to enlist. They are always searching for more brave souls that can bring the power and benevolence of the Wormstar to the rest of the galaxy in my name."

As you expected there was loud cheering at that statement and you motion for silence once more and continue, "Take heed though, my loyal disciples, the Armada is more than glory in battle and invasions. It is about unity and forging bonds with the other members of this universe we share. I urge you all to go out, join the surfacers in Iti'a'Ropku. They may not be Stonestar but they are as much members of the Armada as you all are.

"You now live on the homeworld of the Osogo and I am sure they would enjoy meeting all their new neighbors. The ructu are like kin to you, their world orbiting the same sun as Bastion and were once enslaved by the Liar Serpents and have since joined the Armada when we liberated their world," you say to the crowd, the betrayer generation grinding their armor together in guilty whispers but the young stonestar whisper excitedly among each other about the members of the Armada who they only knew of through their larval schooling.

"The Stonestar are strong, I know this because I have witnessed your ferocity and bravery in battle. But know this, no matter the strength of the individual, whether it be a lone warrior or a fleet of ships, is as strong as the unity between allies. It is my dream that all races of the Armada can work together and make each other stronger with their support." The chamber fills with clattering applause as you finish.

The musicians begin to play again as you drift from the center of the platform to allow the young Stonestar to resume their duels while their parents and elders cheered them on. Necromancer Klikli gives a deep bow by dipping his body when he approaches, thanking you profusely for your appearance saying it would be a great influence on the young stonestars futures.

You watched as the young echinoderms wrestled and fought, limbs grappling and bodies tossed through the air or slammed against the ground, barbs that would soon reach a deadly sharpness but currently soft and malleable used to trip their opponents. You could feel the gathered excitement of the stonestar in the chamber through the Domination Spikes, the musical notes filling the chambers were new compositions mixing the traditional stonestar folksongs with renditions of the Chitin Choirs hymns.

The crystalline clusters hidden in the walls soaked in the ambient life energy of those in the chamber and your necrotic power fed on that gathered energy, harmlessly skimming the top of accumulated energy of several hundred sentient beings slowly but surely turning to full worship of the Wormstar and acceptance of the New Necrotic Armada.

You make a note to send a Harbinger after your departure to test this new generation for elemental sensitivity. Already you suspect you could feel several resonating with the Necrotic and Void but you were unsure without a personal examination. As you watch them duel and fight you suppose it would be a good thing for them to learn how to harness these abilities early in life.

Sweet, what's next on Jadyk's daily itinerary?
>>
Alright, while we're waiting for Jyoti to post something, what sort of conditions are we going to ask of the Armatocere in return for teaching them the secrets elemental manipulation? I think we should ask technological assistance in genetic and biological manipulation. If we're giving them the keys to our own power over death it would be fitting for asking for them to pass on their knowledge of life.

If we could set up a research program into the cataloging the genetic and physical alterations that inevitably come about through energy usage, maybe we could learn how to better slow down or manage the transformations. We could see just how far their mastery over living tissue goes then.

After departing from the stonestar tunnels you send a message to Jor once you return to your throne. The human bows before you image, the necromancer stepping out to a secluded passage and leaving Red-Leaf-Strains to welcome a new group of refugees, "Greetings Lord Jadyk. I hope the new stonestar generation is well," he says, surprising you with his knowledge.

"They will be loyal members of the Armada, I have no doubt. What about those from Kanda?" you ask curiously.

Jor chews on the nail of his non-prosthetic thumb in thought, "Most of them I believe will come to greatly enjoy life here. Others I suspect will get a taste of wanderlust now that they are no longer enslaved. Might join the Legion in time or ask to go out and explore themselves," he gives a shrug, "I always wanted to do that when I was younger and dumb after hitting adulthood. Either way, I believe they will also become loyal members of the Armada. After the conditions they were subjected to on Kanda Iti'a'Ropku will be a paradise."

Nodding in approval as your throne lifts up and begins moving through the underground passages of the city, "Very good. For now though, let us speak of the matter of recruiting the ructu into the Necrotic arts," you say and Jor looks up attentively.

"Iti'a'Ropku's sister city nears completion and I believe it would be beneficial to have some ructu already initiated into the Armada, to show a solidarity with them," the human says, "I've seen the initial reports of the ructu and their unusually high rate of necrotic potential. Admittedly they would not be ideal serving in the Legions front lines but I believe they would be perfect in a more...religious role," he says with a small laugh, "Despite them being professed atheists their minds are becoming open to the possibility of things mightier than themselves.

"You yourself slew and reanimated the closest thing to a living god they had when you created the Fury of the Wormstar. Stories of this are already spreading across Rukor, compounded with the fact the Armada and Armatocere helped them during their famine after freeing them from the Ahkam," the man was speaking animatedly, excited to get his theories out for your approval, "If you ask me, they will begin to praise you on their own soon enough. They might as well be praising you in the name of the Wormstar, their prayers coaxed by believers from their own ranks."

Drumming you talons along the armrest of your throne as you digest this suggestion and Jor's theories of the Ructu. Finding you agreed with him you wonder how to begin recruitment.

"If what you are saying holds true, then I suspect I should head there myself to initiate them. What bigger honor than being hand-chosen by Jadyk himself?" you say with amusement.

Jor grins and nods, "Precisely what I was thinking, Lord Jadyk," he was about to bid farewell as your thone changes course to head for a Coffin and depart for Rukor when a sudden though occurred to him, "Oh, perhaps we could introduce the Armatocere to the ructu in time. I would actually like to get their help in updating and expanding the gardens, orchards and such in time."

Giving a nod, "That may be possible but for now I leave the city under your guidance. When I return I shall hopefully have new recruits for you to help train."

Jor gives a short laugh, "I look forward to it Lord Jadyk. Save travels," he says before the connection severs and you board the Coffin to hitch a ride to Rukor.

As you traveled to the Bastion system you think of the Lavafather and his request for access to volcanic worlds. The recently formed world in the newly named Drakon system would fit his requirements perfectly but your survey teams are still thorough exploring the planets of the system.

Do you wish to inform the Lavafather of the volcanic world and if so do you wish to grant it to him for expanding his territory?

The planet was relatively young, still cooling and shaping its tectonic plates. A few small continents of mostly solid stone dot its surface. Vannec is the site of the abandoned colony, looks to be some manner of reconstructed took them. The Worllunan as a result is now abandoned and open for colonization.

Vannec and Ice Planet are also capable of producing biomass, the income of which is half of our metal.

The Drakon system is now under Armada claim but has practically no defenses in place yet where it's stuck between Ahkam and Osjiic territory
>>

I vote against this because space cities are a massive vulnerability to enemy fleets. Building up Horizon's drop is one thing because that's the heart of our defenses. But we don't have the concentration of forces necessary to guarantee the safety of 4 space cities over every world we hold.

Just reposting this question from last thread.

What do you think would be a good price for a planetary installation of solarfarms? I'd like to boost our Biomass income on planets that can't support normal Biomass farms, and supplement worlds that can. Like how

>Solar Generator Farms give: 5B
supplement the
>Biomass Farms give: 30B
on Horizon's Drop.
Also, good to hear our income is increasing! Good luck with figuring out the numbers for Kanda!

>>1232046
Hmm... You do make a good point. How about dropping the Worllunan system?

Bastion and Rukor are incredibly well defended, and we have a significant portion of our mining coming from the Urdir system?

I'm also fine with upgrading our defenses in all those systems. We have more than enough B and M.
>>
>>1232012
Alright I propose we build the following

Lurker x100,000
Molten Trolls x50,000
Obsidian Dirges x100,000
Volcanic Crawler x10,000
Bone Cluster x100,000

Which when combined with the cost of 15,000 Craw-Bombers here>>1231958 brings the total cost in resources to 9,300,000B 5,100,000M. Sound acceptable Graves?

>>1232061
Nah, there's no need to drop Worllunan, we just need to build up our defenses and push the Akham and Osijic further away. In the meantime we can just build a bunch of biomass farms mining facilities on Vannec, like you're talking about. They're spread out enough to make destroying them all impossible for a raiding fleet, and are beneath hundreds of feet of stone and earth, which stops orbital strikes about as well as anything we could build.
>>

I completely agree with everything except for this

While traveling to Rukor you send a message to the Lavafather, speaking through the Think Tank and Obsidianborn stationed in Agona's Fortress. He greets you jovially, speaking of how the Reforging experiments were grand success with plans to include groups of the Reforged Reconstructed in his own armies of Stonestar and Obsidianborn.

Complimenting the success of the project you shift the conversation to a new topic, sending a data packet to him detailing the volcanic world in the Drakon system. Even through the communication link you could almost sense his excitement as he poured over the data.

"I must warn you that the system is in a precarious position. It sits in the space between the Osjiic Empire and the local Ahkam Dynasty. This system is likely to face battle in the futre, quite possibly sooner than later if they should discover us there. Are you still willing?" you ask even though you are fairly certain of the answer.

On Bastion the volcanic prison of the wasp-turned-elemental rumbles faintly in the distance, rocks and pebbles skittering down the sides of hills and steep cliffs, "I am more than willing my friend. I will build this world to be the first in a chain of fortress worlds to help us expand the might of the Armada. My eternal foe shall be the Ahkam but I knew in time we would come into conflict with the Osjiic. I've seen recordings of the B'Nan invasion and I am impressed, my Obsidianborn and Stonestar eager to join your forces."

"I am glad to hear this, my friend. When will you expect to be ready to beginning colonization?" you ask curiously.

"Immediately," was his short reply and the ground of Bastion rumbles louder than the storm above as a distant spire of a mountains peak breaks off and lifts into the air, veins of crystalline structure emerging on the surface as portions of the outer crust fell away to reveal weaponsmounts and docking bays. The moon shakes as the massive ship leaves the grip of the volcanic moon, punching through the storm layer to emerge into the silent grasp of the outer void. What must have been massive Combi-drive engines power up and the craft disappears into the cosmic distance in a flash of light.

The proposed battlecruiser looks deadly, could we add an advanced void reactor to it to turbocharge it's guns or is that already factored in?

And while we're on the subject of ship designs, I got a couple of em I got saved away, how do they look to you?

Coffin Dropship: 50B 100M
Size: 25 meters
Capacity: 50
1 Needle Pod
1 Turret Ion Cannon
2 Auxiliary Bone repeaters
Boarding Claws:
Fighter Grapnel
Stealth

Estimated Cost: 100B 120M

Torpedo Ship
Battlecruiser: 1500B 2500M
Size: 300 meters
4 Pike Missile Bays: 240M
6 Jammer Missile Pods: 120M
3 Hull Spine Cannons
8 Fixed Necroflensers
10 Turret Chain Flensers
8 Auxiliary Molten Scrapguns
Reinforced Shielding: 600B 600M
2 Boarding Pod launchers
Weaponized Tractor Beam: 60B 60M

Estimated Cost: 2160B 3520M

I suppose the void lance kind of makes this redundant, but this is sort of pike missile carrier ship designed along classic weapon load outs, plus the weaponized tractor beam.
>>
>>1232371
if we build 20 for each world we have currently under our wing, then cycle the various counter-wepons(arc,wraith,solar,ect) that should do for a pretty decent def if our fleet is off somewhere
>>
>>1232408
>could we add an advanced void reactor to it to turbocharge it's guns or is that already factored in
I probably should put that in there yeah. The thing is ships that are focused on one elemental type of weaponry typically come with the appropriate reactor types.

Future ships that use Solar weapons and tech will of course use a solar engine and the ships that Eiton and Nekris will design would run on Arc condenser

>Intruder Coffin: 100B 150M

Looking good to me. The Ion turret would be good for helping break through shields or target weaponmounts on a larger ship

This one looks pretty solid to me too. Not sure why the antiorbital voidlance would make it obsolete since the voidlance is a stationary planetary defense weapon and not a mobile starship

>>1232460
A system of 20 conjoined Terrordromes would indeed serve as a hefty defensive measure for a planet providing cover for most of the planet, probably capable of deterring most fleets and buying time for reinforcements to show up or leap into action from the planets surface

Lel, I meant voidspear, as in the cruiser you just designed. What I came up with was designed as a means of getting pike missiles onto the battlefield, which is what your new ship could do just as well. I leave it up to you if you want to put both designs or just the voidspear in the pastebin.
>>
>>1232510
The Voidspear is totally a long range sniper that uses its relatively quick speed to move into position and line up shots.

The torpedo battlecruiser would get closer than the Voidspear to be able to deploy it's missiles at a much closer ranged and utilize its tractor beam and boarding pods if it needs to. It'd probably use an Advanced Skip Drive like the Plasma weaver in the opening post used to get right on top of enemy formations as well
>>
>>1232482
This this the correct cost?
Terrordrome: 700B 1200M
If so >>1232482
then we should make way more than +20 for each planet.
We only have 100 right now...

+1900
would be
1,330,000B 2,280,000

More than a reasonable cost to protect our planets.

Hell, we could totally build more...
>>
>>1232521

Terrordrome: 1065B 1565M
Size: 80 meter diameter

>>

>>
>>1232639
Oh yeah. Those were also good.

Have they and the terrordomes had their costs updated?
>>
>>1232046
Don't forget the plan for Kanda make some thread ago. And to add to that, the spaces cities herself are no defenseless.
>>
I have a question, how far is our progress in the warbeast cloning project?

Shock Troll x150,000

I been pondering how the hell a necrotic FTL drive would work and I think I got a workable idea. Necrotic energies works through entropy. So all we gotta do is make 'spacetime rot' by exuding such powerful necrotic energies it warps reality itself. From there you have the ship take advantage of the weakened reality to pierce through it thereby gaining faster then light travel. With the larger/stronger the ship can use to pierce through faster and more powerful the necrotic energies released the faster the ship can go.

Only problem is its not by any means stealthy and its going to be very dangerous to figure on what concentration is required to get it to function.

It somewhat works like a alcubierre drive sorta. It causes a somewhat similar effect by weakening spacetime through entropy and then you have the vessel take advantage of the weakened reality to reach FTL. An interesting consequence of the drive is when you jump a massive bloom of necrotic energy would be released blasting anything that is too close and naturally cannot into stealth at all.

From what i have read at going over literally the entire archive and the different FTL references I think its technically within the setting rules and should be possible. We are just taking advantage of the necrotic energy's entropy effect to distort reality enough that we can use it to 'surf' through space at a greatly accelerated rate.

With the peculiar consequence of the larger and more powerful ships being faster then the smaller ships due to the peculiarities of the drive. As well as being impossible to hide, but other ships could if they are close enough can take advantage of the waves caused by ships before them to further boost their own speed. Allowing for an entire fleet exit at the same time, closer together, and best of all faster. Though admittedly it would work best if the bigger and stronger ships get sent in first as they would have the greatest impact.

It would also unlock the tech for creating an entrophy aura so that anything that gets too close would be blasted by necrotic energies damaging and weakening it so long as it stayed there. With a possible entropy shield creating a much more concentrated shielding version compared to just an aura.
>>
>>1233777
That sounds pretty fucking awesome anon.
>>
>>1233777
I feel like this would create the 40k Warp with all the entropic reality weakening, and would bring about the end of the universe faster.

shh don't remind everyone I forgot about that
Its coming later in thread[/thread]
>>
>>1233876
So wait is the idea actually workable then?

>>1233787
I knew there had to be way given the FTL themes. Having going through the entire archive and looking up theoretical means of FTL. I was able to get a good idea how. Sadly this kinda tech we cannot just steal or reverse engineer. Unless we get lucky and it turns out the old Necrotic Armada used similar tech for their own FTL drives.

Honestly though if it doesn't work I have no idea how it can be acquired.

I still think even if that is the case a necrotic energy aura device and necrotic shield should still be able to be devised. Really the first is just taking advantage of the necrotic effect within a targeted area. While the shield while difficult should still be possible by concentrating the above aura and fusing that with preexisting shield technology.

Unlike the slower gradual entropy that would be constantly released in the aura it basically works by creating an extremely concentrated screen of it. Ensuring that whatever hits said screen will decay into nothingness before it can strike whatever is behind it. Even if the shield gets broken it has unlike the other type of shielding it wont just collapse.

Instead whatever gets passed it would be weakened and the shield will remain functional so long as the necrotic shield component remains undamaged and powered. Because its not actually trying to halt the attack unlike other shields. Instead all it is trying to do is hit whatever it is with extremely concentrated blast to blow it into smithereens before it can do any harm. Not by blocking it unlike with other shielding technology.

Thus the necrotic shield should not have the same vulnerabilities that other shields due because it operates on a bit of a different principle. The only reason why we would need to use the shielding technology to get it started is how to create the bubble effect and that concentrated screen that we want to use for it.

When you get down to its basically a concentrated version of the necrotic field aura that uses modified shield technology to help form its basis.

The FTL device using necrotic energy is admittedly basically a big fuck you to reality as its the only way I can figure out to make it work. It would be interesting to see the effects on reality and aftermath would have for...other possible applications.

I will admit a lot of this stuff I ripped heavily from my own undead worldbuilding. The stuff relating to entropy and necrosis are surprisingly applicable in this setting.

For more fun stuff I could crack out my corpse crafting stuff which also has a dangerous amount of precedence due to the corpse cauldrons. Admittedly it is not as refined as the cauldrons in question(well most of anyway). As a lot of it dates back to classic fantasy era instead of soft sci fi.

But there might be some ideas and plans we could steal or otherwise re purpose.

No, let's have the taist be entirely a mystery to us.
We will use the best grapes, grown in the best theoretical situation, with void bone fertilizer, soler power light, low level ark pulses, and aged in donated wood from elder trees or even the world tree
Each bottle will cost the equivalent of 1 uninhabited world

I'm am all for starting this legitimately

This Wormstar wine should take a long time to make, normally with 1 barrel taking 10 treads, but we might be able to use necrotic to speed up the aging process (would probably be great practice for a necromancer, they need to use just the right amount of power or else the get under aged wine or just vinegar)
1 acre making 1 ton of grapes results in a little more than two barrels of wine. Each barrel contains about 60 gallons, 25 cases or 300 bottles. So 1 ton of grapes yields about 60 cases or 720 bottles

Please put up a vote post for this action

Jadyk cannot recall there ever being a proper engine derived fully from Necrotic energy even in the old days of the Undying Court. However, they is some theoretical precedence for this idea.

As you know Arc users are able to generate the Storm Gate which is a group FTL jump with other ships it can bring with them. From what the Blackscale say, the Sunscales appear to be able to generate something similar with their Solar Gates where they create a miniature sun that will teleport friendly ships that pass into it like the Storm Gate.

Now due to the presence of the Void Drive, Jadyk and the Think Tanks theorize a similar effect can be used to create a distortion of time and reality around a ship in a similar way that the Void drive manipulates gravitational fields to achieve FTL by wrapping itself in a bubble of Void energy.

So there seems to be some support for Jadyk and the Necromancers picking up alcohol brewing. Plus there are all those previous mentions of the different alcohols.

I do like the idea of Necromancers using the task of aging wine or other alcohols as a way of refining their control over their necrotic energies. Sort of like the Voidsingers training by seeing how long and precisely they can levitate weights without crushing something.

I know I've mentioned before that there are some citizens that are setting up distilleries and such in Iti'a'Ropku for the races that appreciate a good alcohol. Buddy was friends with a few actually but they decided to stay behind and keep working on their brewing instead of joining him in the smuggling career. With access to Armatocere crops there would be quite a few options for creating new types of alcohol

As far as I'm concerned, brewing alcohol and such is right in character for the Armadan citizenry if folks want to make it an official thing. Jor is definitely a man that appreciates a good drink.

I don't just want it to be an official thing, I want us to specifically have our own garden and and equipment of the highest quality and using an many powers as possible.
The official wormstar wine would be of such high quality and value that the bottles could only be used as political gifts and bribery, because only governments would have the funds needed to buy a bottle
I would like to ask the plant bros for donations of elder tree wood for the fermentation barrels, and ask the lava father to personally make obsidian glass bottles.
This wormstar wine will be made from the best we have and using talents and materials only we have
>>
>>1239037
And necromancers could train on aging more than just wine, the could train on fermenting any drink, carfuly protecting the yeast and other microbes, and targeting the rest
The can even specialize into the favorite drinks

What better symbol of the combined factions and beliefs than alcohol?

Alcohol starts and life in plants gift
Then in death the life is reused and made anew
Then bottled in obsidian by the lavafather, a creature so perfectly embodying the idea of transformation, one being a wasp and enemie then crystal and now the pyroclastic friend.
All ending in a drink that lets you enjoy life to the fullest
(This is how I would pitch it to both the plants and lavafather to see what items of great personal value and import they volunteers for this project)

What sort of FTL drives did Jadyk use during the days of the Undying Court, before he reverse engineered the skip drive?

Did Jadyk and Ruscuv ever spend time comparing each others artistry in shaping flesh and bone?

And finally, do you still use your ask fm account to answer questions about the quest? I got a few questions I'd like to ask about the deep and background lore, and it seems like a convenient spot to drop them off so you can respond to them at your own pace. In a chamber beneath the already buried cloning facility was a Cauldron that roiled with necrotic energy with its contents bubbling fiercely as Beqor and Guir knelt at the rim stirring the mixture with their reaver staves and chanting in Wormtongue. Valresko stood to the side, his hands clasped behind him as watched the ritual of the Blackscale in preparation for their biggest test yet. Sur-Quro was further above, training her solar powers by dueling with Talons and Stingers equipped with necroflensers.

The doors into the chamber slide open and Raakah enters guiding the chosen Sunscale toward the Cauldron. The Worker looked nervous but they nodded along with the Blackscale necromancers words of encouragement as they approached. They glance toward Valreskos pale form standing to the side and their eyes go wide in surprise but they say nothing about him.

The other necromancers stand as they ascend the steps to the platform running along the rim of the Cauldron and the Worker looks into the bubbling mass with a bit of trepidation.

Beqor, seeing their unease, speaks up, "Do not worry, faithful one. It will not hurt and you will be back quickly."

Guir bobs their head in agreement, tongue flicking out between every other word, "You do us all proud. You bring honor to Lord Jadyk by what you are about to do, brave one."

Nodding the Worker took a breath and looked down at the bubbling pit. They stare for a while until they say with a voice barely above a whisper, "For Jadyk."

Raakah hisses in satisfaction, resting a claw on their shoulder in comfort, "Yes, for Jadyk. Close your eyes and take a step forward," she says and takes a step back from them, her clawed hands twisted as they begin to crackle with necrotic energy.

The worker swayed at the edge of the Cauldrons lip as if the toxic fumes were beginning to affect them. They close their eyes and take another breath, this time saying a with a little more confidence, "For Jadyk," and takes a step forward to fall into the black liquid with hardly a splash and, thankfully, without a detonation of Solar energy.

The three blackscale quickly kneel and thrust their hands into the mix as their bodies hummed and crackled with necrotic energy while reaching out to rip the somewhat-willing sacrifice to pieces with the caustic mixture. Valresko stepped forward to observe carefully, rising into the air to get a better view of the cauldrons contents.

Time passes as the Necromancers struggle with the biomass of the Worker, it's flesh and bones resistant at first to the powers of the Cauldron but without their faith the reptiles body eventually yields to their power. The experiment at first, testing what worked with the Sunscale biomass while the Cauldron attempts to divulge the secrets of its genetic structure.
>>
>>1242495
Finally, after several hours, the Blackscale pull their hands free and stand with grunts and hisses as their stiff bodies complain. Their hands were stripped of flesh and scale, wet corroded muscle twitching unnoticed as they stared into the cauldron.

A clawed hand reaches up and grasps the rim to haul itself up onto the platform, liquid biomass dripping off its armored form. Somewhat shorter than the worker it had been when it stands the newly crafted Reconstructed turns is eyeless head from side to side. The Blackscale let out their gurgling laughter, Guir clapping his hands together in excitement only to hiss at the collision of raw flesh but their grin doesn't diminish.

The Reconstructed held the same body plan as the Worker, a bipedal slouched form with a tail as counterbalance. But it held the same aesthetics as a Stinger or Talon, its skull an eyeless dome of dense bone with jaws lacking teeth instead scissor-like blades of bone that grind against each other like a Trolls.

Raakah turns expectantly to Valresko, "It appears to be a success, Dominator! Jadyk will be pleased for certain!" she exclaims and turns back to inspect the new undead closer with her necromancer brothers.

Valresko sets down on the edge of the circular platform while looking at the Reconstructed intently. Reaching out he attempts to look through its sense but finds the attempt muddied, only seeming himself a pale smudge while the Blackscale were watery smears across its vision. As if reacting to his intrusion the undead glances at him but then turns its head to look around the room.

With his own tail swaying Valresko sends out a mental urge and the Reconstructed gives a slight jerk before reacting, moving past the startled lizards to pick up one of their discarded reaver staves and returns it to Beqor. Satisfied it could follow a simple order he turns to let leave and let the Blackscale fawn over their creation.

Afterall, he had new recruits to empower. Miles above a Coffin was landing in a hangar hidden in a frozen hillside, its cargo of Solar potentials disembarking with a mix of curiosity, excitement, and a little bit of fear.

>The first attempt at Reconstructing a Sunscale Worker appears to have been successful if somewhat sloppy and Sunscale biomass appears to naturally resist Reconstruction
>+1 Reconstructed Sunscale
>Worker Dissection: Fast - Now that the secret of breaking down a Sunscale in a Cauldron has been unlocked a proper dissection is possible if difficult

Keep the cloning going.
>>
>>1242499
Hmm... I'm not sure. Additionally... why are we attempting to reconstruct them? Aside from getting to dissect them and pull any upgrades from their genetic code?
>>
>>1242524
Genetics were the only thing Jadyk was really concerned about with the baseline Sunscale being Reconstructable but his biggest concern was cloning loyal Sunscale which seems to be a success so far.

Mainly its the Blackscale that are excited about the Reconstruction because they're weird like that. See it as a new upgrade form for their regular zombie Sunscale
>>
>>1242538
hmm alright. Somewhat worried at how they might not be as easy to control... Will they all be like that or is that just due to it being the first one and the sunscale resistance resulting in an improper reconstructed which will not be present in the mass produced version?
>>
>>1242499
Just try not to make them absolute zealots like their orthodox kin. We dont want stupidly loyal servants that think we can never fuck up, just smart servants that know we arnt the best now but will without a doubt get there.

>>1242499
Keep those clones coming, it's rewarding seeing the blackscale mastering the true ways of the wormstar from us.
>>
>>1242499
Stop the cloaning. We don't want to gain unwanted attention from the mother and father
>>
>>1242603
How about no more then 10 at a time? We wont attempt reconstruction unless the blackscales have a new idea at it gives us a large enough population with which to observe psychological development.
>>
>>1242542
That has to be blackscale fuckery
>>
>>1242499
continue cloning, start implanting memories of combat, see if we can't get some shock troops
>>
>>1242655

I don't think so, otherwise the Blackscales would be easier to see than Valresko.
>>
>>1242673
By what half assed retarded logic? see the impression i get is that Valresko some how only has a partial link to the thing, the real test will be if the blackscale have an easier time directing it, if it flinches when it is given an order then it would be less suspicious
>>
>>1242705

By what half-assed retarded logic allows Valresko to even be a thing in the first place.

It's not like he's powered by two sources of energy that have no right to exist in a single body or anything.

A flash of light and radiation announces your arrival over the green and blue jewel of Rukor but there was already a multitude of ships appearing and departing from its orbit. The Armada continues its construction of both the city and the Wormstar Finger, the anchor unseen on the surfaces equator but the orbital platform was seen in the cosmic distance surrounded by a fleet of ships, large portions being moved by the powerful tractor beams of cruiser sized construction ships.

Descending to the surface by way of Coffin you head for the capitol ructu city, a message passed hours before to the elders council that Lord Jadyk would be arriving to speak with them about important matters. The capitol city was impressive for the relatively primitive race, spanning miles around the mouth of a large river that emptied into a large bay, over a million ructu living and working in their partially subterranean buildings. Floating docks and piers, covered in ructu dragging in their daily catch or shouting with each other as they worked, stretched out into the bay with hundreds of ructu ships of various sized tied to them.

Yet around the borders and in sections of the city there were buildings that were clearly foreign. Along the shoreline and protecting the bay were strips of cement rising out of the ocean, intended to help lessen the effects of the hurricanes that struck the city each year. Terrordrome halves rested outside their walls partially buried in the sand-dunes, while anti-air towers stood over the city buildings. The black stone of Dreamstone obelisks dotted the city, the largest in a plaza that held the largest of their markets, a massive bazaar teeming with ructu trading their wares brought from distant isles or from the hardy river dwellers that braved the inner wilds of the continent. Carefully maintained and protected vats were set into the ground in sections of the city, ructu opening their hatches to harvest the Armada Drop Kelp that had become a staple of ructu diets over the last weeks.

Reconstructed were occasionally seen, Gargoyles perched on rooftops or Trolls and Looms helping with construction of new huts and buildings. The most common of the Reconstructed were mainly domestic Stalkers used for beasts of burden in hauling carts or sleds, a favorite of the ructu due to their resemblance to the native krysser predators they were based on.
>>
>>1245423
A landing platform lay just outside of the city and as the Coffin landed it was quickly swarmed by a large crowd of ructu. The cargo doors open and a ramp slides out revealing you seated on your throne and the ructu began to shout and cheer in their whistling, clucking voices. Surprised but impressed by the turnout the throne drifts forward and members of the elder council move to meet you while the crowd was partially held back by a line of non-combat Stingers that typically were used to work on the shuttles that landed here. You lift a hand to wave to the crowd and were once again buffeted the surge of their voices

An elder steps forward wearing a cape of woven vines, "Welcome, Lord Jadyk! It is our honor to welcome you back to Rukor."

Another speaks up, their face and chest chitin engraved with designs marking them from a distant village, "Rukor and its children the ructu always welcome you, Lord Jadyk. To what do we owe this honor?"

What shall you say to the ructu elders as to the reasoning behind your visit?

With the new city i build begins nearing completion I have come to ask once more of the Ructu if they would be willing to, with my help reach for their destiny

Over the time i have helped and watched over you I have taken careful note of your people and though at first i did not notice this, hidden potential I feel now that i have become aware of its presence, that i much bring it to your attention.

do a quick light show naming each of the elements we have control over. These powers i have can be had by those with the potential, and I believe there are many among the Ructu who can with the Armada's guidance come to control/command and excel at these powers application, but only if you would accept these gifts. I would not impose upon you powers or gifts you do not wish to recieve, and i can find those among you who have the potential but it is still their choice as to accept them or not.

What say you

or something along those lines
>>
>>1245428
I come bearing a new gift, but it is more ten just a gift it is also a responsibility a great one that will both empower and strengthen the Ructu and the armada, if you will accept. And I ask the council first but it will be each Ructus choice as to wether to accept

I will speak plainly I have control over carrying elemental powers that make up our universe, necrotic solar void etc small demonstrations of each, and a I have watched over you I have realised many of you have the potential within you to wield these powers, if you so choose

Also going to support, describe how we have discovered their race to hold great potential for communing with the same force that empowers us and the Armada (the necrotic) and that we wish to open up that potential. It is a great responsibility to those who would choose to accept it, but it will lead them closer to our god (the wormstar) over time, allowing them to become necromancers like our most favored servants.
>>
>>1245428
"I have brought a dear gift to the Ructu," you say but you hold up your hand to forestall any exclamations, "But it is also a grave responsibility. What I bring is a chance for the people of Rukor to take great strides in reaching out for their destiny among the stars."

The elders looked up at you, their mandibles quivering with barely contained excitement and they exchange a few quick words among themselves before one of them turns back to you and motions to city, "Please, join us in the Council hall, we will send word for a hasty meeting of the elders to assemble. Most are already there after hearing you were coming."

A hovertransport, used mainly to ferry supplies to construction sites, was repurposed to ferry the elders and yourself to the council hall, a large domed building that you knew to be even larger underground than what it would suggest. A meeting was hastily called and in short time you were seated in your throne with the Elder Council arrayed before you. Several of the more politically affluent members of the city, merchants and ship captains mostly, stood in stands above, their excited whisperings adding a buzz to the air.

The large open chamber was a surprisingly advanced structure, the freestanding dome sturdy enough to weather the constant storms and hurricanes that buffeted the city while remaining watertight. The central chamber was illuminated by sunlight reflected off a complex array of polished mirrors that threw light across the room regardless of the time of day. The inside of the dome was a mosaic of polished shells and stones depicting scenes of ructu history such as the founding of the city by unifying the trade-routes and newer scenes showing the liberation of Rukor by the Armada and the unmistakable blob of Beast of Rukor rising out of the sea with a small pale figure of pearl with crimson shell robes standing on top of it.

Standing from the throne it slides back discreetly to leave you in the center of the room with the ructu staring down at you. Glancing around the chamber before looking to the collection of elders you voices speaks out in their native tongue, a surprised murmur rippling through the crowd above, "In the time that I have come to Rukor and come to know its people I have been impressed by the ingenuity of the Ructu and your spirit. So much so I am constructing the second grand city of the Armada here on Rukor, to show my appreciation for Rukor and its people." There was excited whispering, the stories of the strange rapidly growing city sprouting up on an island well circulated by the sailors and travelers who dared to near the island.
>>
>>1245872
"As the days passed we have taken careful note of your people and through our time together I have noticed a hidden wellspring of potential among the Ructu," you stretch out a hand and your forearm is engulfed with the ultraviolet flames of the Void, the gathered ructu gasping in surprise and chattering among themselves then going silent as you continued, "There are certain powers and energies that suffuse the universe, influencing all things and shaping planets and stars."

The flames focus above your palm and curling into a roiling ball of Void energy that warps the light around it only to snuff it out with a clenched fist, "These energies can lead to great fortune for a civilization and its people but can also lead to its ruin if it is not used responsibly. The Liar Serpents derive their power from such an energy and use it to enslave countless worlds as they once did Rukor," the very mention of the Ahkam drawing hisses and spat curses.

You could feel the eyes of the crowd upon you and you look up into the stands above, seeing how they hung onto your every word. The Elders were much the same, leaning intently forward where they perched on overstuffed cushions. Lifting both arms to encompass those gathered you voice rings out once more, "I have come to bring the gift of knowledge to the Ructu and the blessing of guidance. By my hand I will grant you this gift and blessing so that the Ructu can rise up to stand as equals with the other races of the galaxy," you reach out a hand to the council, "I bring this to you, this choice, because you are the speakers and elders of your people. I would not impose my will upon you as the Ahkam did. Even if you accept my proposal each potential candidate will also have a choice on whether or not to accept my training. They will be brought to the Armada to learn and be strengthened, to help guide you to your destinies among the stars."
>>
>>1245876

The audience hall was near silent as the Elders turned to each other and whispered by grinding their mandibles togethers and clucking softly. Finally the elder that wore a kryssers preserved jaws around their neck stood, "You have been nothing but a blessing to Rukor and her children since you have arrived and freed us from the Liar Serpents," they have to lift their hands for silence as the crowd speaks its agreement, "It is by the will of this Council that we accept your offer, Lord Jadyk. What do you need to begin?"

You give a deep bow of gratitude, "Thank you for your understanding, Elders. I know this will only strengthen the bond between the Ructu and the Armada. I would like to perform a search of your capitol city, if you would allow it. To walk among your people and seek them out."

"You have our blessing, Lord Jadyk," the Elder says and retakes their seat and begins speaking with the other Elders.

Seated once more on your Throne you are quickly accosted by a crowd of ructu when you attempted to leave the building, the excited crustaceans insisting that you test their potential. The laugh you let out startles them but they quickly recover, pressing forward so much you suspect you will have to float above their heads to move through the city.

The Ructu have agreed to let you search the populace for elemental sensitives

The crowd of Ructu had to be gently pushed back with a bubble of telekinetic energy and the clicking shouts of an Elder emerging to see what the ruckus was about. You politely explain to those gathered that you would need patience from them as you searched, the process needing your attention to perform the search.

After the initial hiccup of excitement the ructu fell back to allow you to work. Selecting at random you searched through those present, many of them turning away in disappointment but still excited by your presence.

After a relatively brief search you are almost disappointed by the haul but you know there would be more chances to search their population once the island city was constructed. Not to mention the ructu that would come to visit Iti'a'Ropku like the crowd that had gathered, asking if they could return to Horizon's Drop with you.

Among the few you gathered to join you there was one ructu that showed great promise, one that you had barely noticed crouched in the shade of a building watching you from a distance but the necrotic resonated with her to draw your attention even yards away. She was a young ructu by the name of Vekke, that despite being homeless and living on the goodnature and charity of the city dwellers, seemed healthy and intelligent. You were proud of the ructu when you learned more about their efforts to provide care for all members of their kind, food and lodging freely offered to the less well-off, large chambers connected to the Elders audience building serving as shelter for homeless ructu where they could stay dry and warm.

Ructu elemental potentials gathered:
>Vekke Necrotic
>4 Necrotic
>1 Void
>1 Arc
>1 Solar

In addition to the eight ructu elemental potentials a crowd of ructu natives are returning with you to Horizon's Drop to visit Iti'a'Ropku.

With a Bloat Carrier soon to arrive to transport the ructu group to Horizon's Drop you return to the Frigate in orbit once more. The message from the Voidknights concerning the large amounts of Voidsingers in captivity still needed to be addressed along with deciding the fate of the other energy potentials among the refugees and captives.

What shall you tend to next?
>Decide the fate of the Voidsingers
>Address the fate of the other Elemental potentials
>>
>>1248749
>voidsingers
Since it seemed the more important.
Maybe we could turn some of them, and turn the less willing ones into some sort of void generator.
>>
>>1248749

>Decide the fate of the Voidsingers

I think we should Induct some of them into the Voidknights at Lorgul's discretion, turn the rest of them into more void behemoths.
>>
>>1248749
>Decide the fate of the Voidsingers
Demonstrate to them our power, especially of our voidknights. Sow them who the true inheritors of Ghul are. Those that are smart enough to see the truth will be spared and join are forces those that do not...well, last time we got a bitchn new elite unit, wonder what we'll get this time.

Returning to the Horizon's Drop system with a flash of light and radiation the Frigate floats in orbit over the world, the pale moon gleaming in the distance, its image hazy from the amount of ships that surrounded it.

Sending a message to the satellite a moment later holograms of both Voidknights appeared before you, your own image projected by demi-Think Tanks for their convenience. The pair bow deep, their voices unified as they greeted you. You give a bow of your head in return, "I hear you requested my attention concerning our latest crop of Voidsingers we have gathered from the Empire. Tell me your thoughts, my Voidknights."

Jareth was the first to speak, "There are a number who may yet serve the Armada. They are close to breaking I believe. The others-"

Revenant Lorgul cuts him off, a trend you were noticing in their interactions, "They are stubbornly clinging to their faith in the Empire. It is my belief that they are no good other than as kindling for fueling our current Disciples with a handful of them that would have the potential as Disciples themselves."

Revenant Jareth speaks up, seemingly unannoyed at Lorguls rudeness, "Indeed. There are some among their ranks that do seem unable to break their annoying habit of loyalty to the Empire. I have compiled a list of those I believe will never join the Legion or Armada," and a list of prisoner names and numbers appears before you displaying the Voidsingers, "They are twenty-three in number, including loyalists and some of the deranged and violent as they are consumed by the void. Among their number at least two have the potential of to join as Disciples.

"The rest I still believe might be convinced to join the Armada, given more thorough reprogramming through the Dreamstones and propaganda. The fact the Predators took down the Warbeast Rider was a serious blow to the moral of many of the Osjiic, both Voidsingers and regular soldiers and officers. It appears he was something of a hero to them all," he says, ready to say more but was interrupted once more.

Lorgul scoffs, "I knew it should have been me that took them down," they fold their thick arms across their chest, "Once his pet is cloned, I'd actually like a chance at dueling him in the Colosseum," he says then catches himself, giving a short bow, "If you'd allow it, Lord Jadyk."

"We shall see, Lorgul," you say and turn your attention back to the task of deciding the fate of the remaining Voidsingers.

Of the seventy-five remaining captured Voidsingers, twenty-three of their number are either loyalists to the empire or becoming deranged as their Voidflame threatens to consume them, with two having the potential to become Voidknight Disciples. The remaining fifty-two, Jareth believe have the chance to be convinced to join the Armada.

What shall you do with these Voidsingers?

Make the Disciples
Can we try making void troops like versions of Gral? We don't have the death heads to make another conjoined brute like him if course but maybe they can make something neat
>>
>>1249091
Reconstruct the two into VoidKnight Disciples
As for the others, I suppose we have to just hold on to them. The Empire hasn't shown any interest in their POW's so far and i doubt they'll have any interest if they ever decide to negotiate with us. We could use them as fuel for the Disciples but I think we're set on being good guys, or at least the lesser evil.
>>
>>1249091

Reconstruct the two into Voidknight disciples, use the others that won't join as fuel for more void behemoths or to power up our existing disciples, remaining ones go through our standard POW recruitment procedure.

I don't really see any reason to not do this, if any more issues pop up with Armada integration we can just toss said issues into a cauldron at our leisure.
>>
>>1249162
This.

Those that are still stable be kept as fuel for training disciples those too far gone that they might pose a threat should be reconstructed into either Demi brutes or void infused troops perhaps even a perpetual void engine a reanimated monstrosity of void singers continually producing void energy but not holding any sentience other then the many heads giving voice to the songs of the void
>>
>>1249162
>good guys

Anon we are currently cloning an entire species solely so we can warp their culture as a form of psychological warfare and necrotic experimentation
>>
Question.
If the ability to use powers comes from the users soul resonance with a power
And clones can't use powers
Then do clones not have souls?

Also can we influence a new soul or influence what kind of soul a new life will have? We could make some device that makes everyone born in one of our city's a power user
>>
>>1249287
Eh it's more to counter the regular sunscale and propaga see reasons "coexistence is possible once religious Zealotry of misguided hate is extinguished"
>>
>>1249321
The ones we are making are just as zealous just in the opposite direction
>>
>>1249331
Lets fix that shall we.
We want them to be loyal because we prove beyond a shadow of a doubt that they will be rewarded for it.
They will give their lives for us because we have shown them that their lives are so much better with us then their orthodox kin.
They love us not because we say that they must love us or that it is the right order of things, but because we have shown them time and again that they are our vassals, if not adopted children.
We want to make them servants not pawns. We have plenty of others that can be used as pawns.
A zealot is loyal but of limited thought. Yes they will put their full power behind a task if they believe it benefits us, but the will one day join our other servants and they are not extensions of us but their own life forms with their own aspirations.
They will be among our most loyal and zealus followers but never in unthinking way of the Mother and Father.
>>
>>1249162
We are NOT the good guys. We will never become the good guys, Jadyk is very evil, and willing to do things that would make hitler look like a boyscout, case and point, the experiments to make the immortals, even his protectiveness over the armada's citizens is more like a dragon protecting its horde. what i am getting at is, Moralfags get out!
>>
>>1249321
the entire reason we started doing it is because it was a massive "fuck you" to the mother and father and that they will make decent shock troops.
>"coexistence is possible once religious Zealotry of misguided hate is extinguished"
This bullshit never came into it, less than two threads ago we educated some newcomer to the fact that we are downright evil as fuck, or at the very least far from good.
>>
>>1249378
Its not about being moral, its about being practical. The big powers in the galaxy are a two corrupt democrays, a rotting despotic empire, a theocracy run on slave labor and exploitation, omnicidal space ghosts, plants that prefer to do there own thing most of the time, undead who like to fuck the living over, space gypsiy pirates, extradimensional guys who like to bring people up and then fuck them over for shits and giggles, and who knows what else. Good PR, altruism and a smige of sacrafice has proven tim and again to be one of, if not the, most important tool of ours by bringing us allies, tech and resources. We will commit atrocities but not over something petty and we will not do it lightly. Do not mistake not being capable and willing to help others as HURDURR, IMMA GUD UNDEED".
>>
>>1249355
that sounds less like a "We" and more like a "You" also it is pointless, since while they are being educated as fanatics and even if that was not the entire point of cloning them as such, (You know to piss the mother and father off by stealing their toys) also we aren't telling them to love us, so much as they have no memories of anything but being loyal to us, and besides we give our citizens everything they need and ask for, seeing as it costs us literally nothing, how could they not already like us, by us just releasing them into the population.
>>
>>1249405
>Do not mistake not being capable and willing to help others as HURDURR, IMMA GUD UNDEED".
Nigger did you even read the post i responded to? you know the part where it said
>but I think we're set on being good guys, or at least the lesser evil.

also seriously proofread your posts man, that took me far longer to decipher than it should have.
>>
>>1249414
It was partially to piss them off,but also to make them a usable resource, since whenever we try to analyze them or reconstruct them(not counting the blackscales skele warriors or Valresko) they combust. We are telling them to love us out of the tank, but thats the equivalent of making a baby know that its parents are the ones they should follow. Life will mellow them out to a degree and make them less stupidly fanatical.
>>
>>1249390
>Jaydk to the netu pirates:
Come see my city we have no slaves
>create thought slave clones of the sunscale who have no choice but to love us

Hmmmm.

And I didn't say we are good we use evil methods to relate the best possible outcome, we aren't chaotic stupid, if doing something evil will have a positive outcome or make our goals be more easily attained we do it. We don't just go "we evil so throw those slaves into the pain out for the lulz!"
>>
>>1249405
> but not over something petty and we will not do it lightly
>Forgetting all the times we have either thrown someone into a cauldron or outright murdered them over the most trivial things
>>1249428
you read the all the story posts right? We can reconstruct these ones, also dude you are seriously doubting the power of two things, the first is a domination spike the second is indoctrination via faith.
>>
>>1249390
Pluss the coexistence thing is the fucking PR answer to the universe so we can say "we are justified in fighting the sunscale super goodies because their mentality is evil because look at how nice and fucking generous we are... On a side note pleas don't ask where we get all our tech and experiment patience a from.."

So yes it's been done as a fuck you to the mother and father but also so we have an army that is on par with the sunscale to counter how fucking effective they are against us
>>
>>1249440
>create thought slave clones of the sunscale who have no choice but to love us

thats wrong they have a choice to love us or not, it is their loyalty that they have no choice on

>also Not understanding the basic fact that cloning subjects and implanting loyalty itself is on its own Morally Dubious. and not realizing that the dreamstones already partially do this.
>>
>>1249449
Or you know justified since they are the ones that declared on us (They will), and are genocidal towards any undead life, as well as all their faith based aggression? i am certain EVERY major faction has wiped out a species over less.
>>
>>1249440
>We don't just go "we evil so throw those slaves into the pain out for the lulz!"

And i will say one more time, Jadyk simply is too apathetic to do something that pointless, If the wormstar commanded him to personally murder every member of the new necrotic armada i have no doubt he would.

>>1249440
also since it is two in the morning it took me this long to notice this. Are they slaves if they choose their own jobs. their own clothes, and have everything they could ever want freely provided for them. they simply are not allowed to leave, they are more prisoners than anything and even that is not the best word for it
>>
>>1249091
So far you all agree that the two Disciples should be made.

Of their number, seven are close to being consumed by their Voidflame and have mere days or weeks as their corruption accelerates.

What shall you do with the 21 not becoming Disciples?
>Allow Disciples to drain them
>Give to the Voidknights for Reconstruction
>Attempt to further convert those not in danger of combusting soon
>Other (Write-in)

>>1249147
Gral is indeed a very unique unit.

You may be able to create more Void Juggernauts if you can capture powerful enough Void users like the Deathshead or mash enough Voidsingers together but they wouldn't reach Grals level of strength.

But yes, the Voidknights believe they could create special Void units but so far they've been content with the Reconstructed.

>>1249320
>If the ability to use powers comes from the users soul resonance with a power
>And clones can't use powers
>Then do clones not have souls?
For all you can tell, Clones do in fact have souls. Back in the old Armada the Lightdrinker once mentioned possibly using clones to bolster her formerly small ranks of Wraiths.

Despite all your experiments into the elements you are completely baffled why Clones can't become elemental wielders despite being the equal of a naturally born member of their race.

Nor why races like the Netu, who are all fertilized and incubated outside of their parents in artificial wombs similar to a cloning tank, are able to become elemental wielders themselves.

One of the great mysteries you have encountered.
>>
>>1249487
>they are more prisoners than anything and even that is not the best word for it
I prefer the term "Initially Reluctant Immigrants"
>>
>>1249487
Jadyk was imprisoned for several millennia, went insane a few times and has adapted to a new invironment with a new guiding philosophy. If he was told to rev up the genocide machine before, he would do it in a none existent heartbeat. Now, however, there would be hesitation since he's become his own master and wants life to contine. As for being not allowed to leave, there are emigration policy like that.
>>
>>1249495
What happens if we let the void consume them?
And can we reconstruct more than one at a time to make bigger better ones

Or say to make disciples they need to be about 50% consumed
We have a few that are 99% consumed
So what if we take a mostly consumed and a new void user and make 2 disciples?
>>
>>1249495
>Allow Disciples to drain them

Also, something I've been wondering a while now, how do we manage to give all of our citizens the anti-necrotic corruption pill every day? Is it just slipped into their food?
>>
>>1249495
Throw them all in a cauldron and make many disciples or one big one
>>
>>1249495
Why can't we just make disciples en mass? What is the limiting factor? We have void infused bone and biomass
What more is needed?
>>
>>1249506
>What happens if we let the void consume them?
They either become inanimate void-infused bone like what is used in osjiic Void reactors
Or they become enraged, completely insane screaming Void Skeletons that will attack any and all living things they can find in attempts to get something to kill them.
It's not a pretty sight

>And can we reconstruct more than one at a time to make bigger better ones
Yup, you created Gral by mashing together a pair of Deathshead Guardians and a handful of Voidsingers.

You could get away with combining...let's say 6 Voidsingers to create one Void Juggernaut.

The Voidknights haven't experimented with Void Reconstructed/Undead like the Pyroclastic Punishers have done with the Reforged.

>>1249513
Their personal attendant demi-Think Tanks keep track of it, reminding them to take it. Most take it with food because of the minor case of nausea it gives on an empty stomach.
>>
>>1249530
Then let's use these guys to experiment
>>
>>1249530
I'm fine with them using the Uber loyal/crazy to experiment with.

>>1249551
This sounds good, Lorgul has always been very creative when experimenting.
>>
>>1249321
Don't mistake our overt actions as altruism or anything else, it is pure politics. Overt actions are made to appeal to our allies and neutral morals. Everything we do on the sly is hidden and the visible results can be lied about for the same reason.

By appearing good and being scary powerful they will in turn try to appeal to us and we can use their actions in our propaganda, that they act morally good because of our influence.

"Make the pair into Disciples. They are becoming invaluable to the Armada and lieutenants in the field," you say and the pair of Voidknights nod and salute, "I believe Gral is a little lonely. More Void Juggernauts would be a useful thing for the Armada. The rest..." you ponder for a moment then nod, "The rest you will use as fuel and as fodder for your experiments."

Jareth looks at you in what you could feel was confusion, "Experiments, Lord Jadyk?"

"Indeed. I recall Voidlord Ghul's armies utilizing void-infused undead. With Agona and Muic's Reforged setting a precedent, I believe you would be able to create something...interesting," you direct a finger to Lorgul's image, "I know how eager you are to create new monstrosities. After Gral, I am curious to see what you two can come up with."

The pair of Revenants salute, Lorgul letting out a laugh, "They will be terrifying, Lord Jadyk, have no fear."

"I have no doubt in your capabilities, my friends. May the Wormstar and the Black Flame guide your hands," you say before the connection is severed.

Voidknights are creating:
>2 Voidknight Disciples
>2 Void Juggernauts

The remaining nine are being split up between fueling the new Disciples and becoming part of their experiments.

Aside from just continually expanding our fleet, I was going to ask if our generals might be interested in creating their own personal flagships. It'd be expensive as FUCK, but doable over time, and it'd be so worth it to see the lower jaws of our collective enemies detach.

I've also been considering a Reconstructed with a long sinuous, constricting form covered in retractable or folding spines that draw the Arc inside their florescent body. Could call them Mockery Wyrms. The smallest ones would slither through vents and ducts alongside Looms to sabotage machinery and ambush soldiers, while the largest (probably in excess of 50t) would assist in taking down Ahkam, and potentially even Matriarchs.

Probably with some flatworm in there too. Being able to rapidly regenerate their wounds by expending Arc energy would make them even better at tackling the giant snakes.

Hell, with enough Arc energy, they could just split via mitosis. No Cauldrons necessary!
