"Get away from my consoles you bitch." You shout as the Xenomorph Warrior Falls back, the acid blood spurting onto your wrist and sizzling against your rolex. Never one to resist a surrela thought, you realize that this flashy watch just saved your hand from becoming all Darth Vadery.

Henson mutters the prayer behind you, "This we offer in humility and fear, for the blessed peace of your eternal slumber, as it ever was."

Still shaking you make your way to the emergency power switch and slowly begin keying in the twelve digit passcode. Behind you [THE FOOL] is up and dancing around the wide swings of the Oni's Kanobo, the kitchen counter now just a shattered pile of plastic, marble and old wood.

The sweet innocent [VIRGIN] clings to the beast's back, a meat cleaver licking out into the hide-armour of the beast's back ineffectively as it herds [THE FOOL] into the open space of the main area.

Tech is still down. Demo, Chem and Intel are up. Communication between departments is text only though.

You hammer out a message into the keyboard to Thomas down in CHEM and soon, you see a thing tendril of yellowing green hover at the top of the cabin. Making it's way into the sinuses and then bloodtsream of [THE VIRGIN] rapidly, her face of raging bloodlust is frankly replaced by drowsiness, then confusion, then pants shitting terror as she screams and drops the cleaver in panic.

The thing apparently dislikes he voice and a trunlk like arm reaches back and picks her from between his shoulder blades with patronising, disgust. It throws her away like a used hankerchief, tossing her back out the hole in the cabin wall it entered from. [THE VIRGIN] skips like a stone on water over the hard ground, but she finds her feet after a long moment. Cluthcing her stomach in agony, she runs into the woods.

[THE FOOL] uses that opportunity to move in and unload on the Oni. She unloads with Tyson-esque haymakers to his inner thighs to little effect; but it is when she ducks a horizontal kanobo swing that she finds a weakness; unleashing a rocketing uppercut she hits the Oni right between the legs.

A noise like a frying pan being dropped rings through the Cabin as the monster staggers back. The two back off staring each other down. The literal flaming gaze of the Oni versus the bloodlust chemical laced stare of [THE FOOL].

The Oni straightens up to it's full height and drops the Kanabo. The studded and spiked club falling through the wooden floor and down into the cellar. Through the Ancient One's will, it lands perfectly in an aisle between two rows of trigger items. Saving you from certain annihalation. But the hair on your neck stands up as Henson trudges over to you, you stare transfixed as the Oni inclines it's head in respect to [THE FOOL] before it draws it's two katana/ The twin pair of silver white blades shimmering with magical light as they seem to demand the gaze of all who would dare be in their presence. A mark of respect for those about to die, an Oni wielding a katana in a pale mimicry of honour.

VALENTINA SANTIAGO

You raise your sidearm to Gray, "Bullet holes in friendlies and last man standing?" You sigh, "Explain."

He shrugs slyly, "The bug things wounded them, sometimes even bit them. Protocol says interaction equals execution."

"But you're the only one alive?" Cass says dubiously.

"Well nobody else is breathing." He replies.

"Gray, ye wer always a bit shit. How the fuck didya outlive two squads?"

"I guess I just wanted it more."

"Well fine. You followed the rules." You say, "But you're on point since you're suddenly so capable." With a shove, you seal his fate. Your makeshift squad heading into the cacophony of the stable that has become a nest towards these black bug things.

Oh god, setting off a bomb in the stables could make this a whole lot worse. I guess since the ritual still looks like it is going to complete (although I can't see Cthulu giving it more than a 3/10 unless he is a fan of non-ironic B Grades) the director can always dust off and nuke it from orbit.

You huddle up your squad, "Right Cass, where should we put the bomb?"

"I don't fucking know. They apparently tunneled according to that stable dude."

"Which mans I cin do a sonar ping t' check whar they're at?" Jess offers.

"Hold off on that while we sneak in at least to the stables." You say hefting your sons and prompting Gray to advance. With a sigh and heavy heart he does so, allowing you to shadow him as he moves in and to the side of the vault doors that have lay bent open for god knows how long.

It is only four feet before your hard white paneled floor is replaced by some black, swamp like resin. It allows the trained members of your team to blend into the walls more effectively but it also presents a signifigant hazard for maneuvering.

That is when the first problem arises. PINGPINGPINGPINGPINGPINGPING The tracker shrilly screams.

"The stable's too much. I gotta turn it off." Jess hisses, looking to you for permission.

"It's too loud anyway." Gray adds as he checks for any bug monster things... Xenos Cassie called them.

Fuck the sonar. Walk the bomb to the queen the old fashioned way.
It is the ones hanging out in the cracks in the walls and not moving that you have to watch out for anyway. Still, you would think that motion tracker would have a flashing light or some visual indication that would make the sound output redundant. Then you could disable the speaker or just stab the fuckng thing.

"Jess, drop the tracker. You and Cassie go back get some heavier weaponry." You say to the two women. "Gray you're with me on perimeter." You snap, setting up your plasma shotguns aiming into the stable.

Jess and Cassie move quickly, leaving Gray to holster his Handcannon and draw his pulse rifle from his back and scan the horizon. The noises of the stables still manage to set your nerves on edge despite the hellholes and warzones you've been through.Signing to Gray you both begin to creep forward, pushing your backs against either side of the door to the monster stables themselves.

As Gray's pulse rifle streaks out, his shooting switching from burst to long stream of fire, you step out of cover and level both shotguns at the healthy Xeno.

The thing is more rabbit than bug, it kitters for only a moment before it hops once and then pounces, it's jaw opening up to reveal a tiny inner mouth.

In the second before both triggers are pulle dand it's head pops like a water balloon as two plasma shotguns spew death into it's skull. Black Ice and Grey Dawn seem to revel in the death, your boys steaming from their intakes as you calmly step back behind the wall before the acidic blood sprays towards you.

The other Xeno makes it within six feet by the time the pulse rifle whittles enough of it's shell and body for it to slump in a heap. Blood rapidly pools beneath it as Gray drops a magazine and replaces it mechanically. "Since when can you shoot?" You ask suspiciously.

"Since I've been put up against something more interesting than a fucking targeting dummy." He retorts.

You point Black Ice at him, "Say again?"

"Since I had an actual hostile Ma'am!" He blurts, snapping off a salute.

"Better." You repeat.

"So be straight. How are you still alive? Barkley isn't the type to just let you execute him. Even if he did have contact with a Xeno, that man would rip his way to Hell and back before dying." You ask as you both press your backs to the wall.

"I knew that. So when he pointed his gun at me I told him I'd been scratched too and we were cool." Gray says with a little smirk.

"Then you blew his skull out the front of his face." You finish.

"Like I said." Gray counters, looking down at his weapon in either shame or resolve. "I wanted it more."

Your brief bonding session is interrupted by a solid set of foosteps across the goop in the swamp. A big bug, with almost a crown placed upon it's head arrayed of intricate exoskeleton, flanked by two scuttling Xenos.

This new one dwarves even the two "heavies" flanking it. You believed those with the ridged crests were the elites of this species' but this big bastard of a bug stomping out of the cell blocks just threw that out the window.

You toss the flash like a bullet and ding the warrior in the cranium with it. The super giant Xeno hisses at you before you shut your eyes.

Your ringing ears signal the detonation of the flash, all three bugs are flinching when you open your own eyes and witness a rifle shot grenade detonate at the feet of the bugs. Both warriors are staggered by the blast, one losing it's arm.

Gray tosses his second grenade with a grunt, but instead of bouncing, the frag embeds itself in the goop only catching the now charging warirors in it's radius. One is thrown flying into the wall with a screech, but the disarmed monster is shredded by shrapnel and collapses on the spot.

The big monster simply starts walking towards you on two legs, silently encroaching as it begins to pick up speed; the behemoth approaching with a sense of inevitability and dread.

Both of you unload with everything you have. Three high caliber firearms unloading on the beast. Like green dragons your plasma spits towards the giant Xeno alongside the red sparks of Gray's plasma rifle. Time and again you pull the triggers of your sons, Gray holding down his trigger to send an uninterrupted stream of death at the monster as it slowly begins to charge.

With a sadistic snarl you fire the last two shells of your weapons; every bullet had bounced off the strong front plating of the Xenomorph as it builds to a frightening speed. You try to reload but your hands shake as the monster barells through the wall you are both hiding behind, collpasing the entranceway in a shower of black shell and grey brickwork. Rubble flies as the creature's impossible velocity and unyielding power decimate your defensive position.

Your vision goes. Returning to be looking at the goo floor. The impact of the creature bursting through the wall must have sent you flying...

From nearby Gray screams like a little girl. Trained for tracking; you find him easily and the terror in his eyes haunting in it's totality. The Xeno stalks over to him and picks him up in a grip like embrace, blood bursts from Gray's mouth as his ribs and innards are crushed and shattered in a chorus of snapping brutality.

You're paralysed by fear, watching silently as the creature slowly studied the shivering and crying man, holding him up to it's headplate like he were a paper doll. Slime and smoke oozes from the creature as it's jaws part slowly. If it had a tongue it would probably be dragging it up his cheek - instead; Gray let's out one last interrupted scream as an inner jaw shoots out, piercing right between Gray's brown eyes and shattering his skull like a ceramic plate. You see the back of his head epxlode outwards, blood, grey matter, brain , bone fragments and flesh all spurting outward in a grisly arc of death. The smell of faeces and urine fills the air as you shakily get back to your feet.

A shriek from your side reminds you of the imminent danger. The Warrior is charging you on all fours with it's deadly tail ready to strike.

Swallowing your pride you turn tail and run, narrowly avoiding the claws slashing towards your face, you still take a deep gouge in the back from the warrior's tail.

Amazingly, you keep your footing despite the goo beneath your feet and continue sprinting away from the clacking chitin behind you. Through the doors ahead you see Jess and Cass, the former wielding some kind of grenade launcher and a pair of remote sentries folded onto her back, and the latter armed with what appears to be a giant pipe held to her by a sling.

The pipe glows blue as Cass depresses the trigger and Jess draws her MAC10 and takes aim, if she's unwilling to lob a nade this bastard must be right on your tail.

In the two years you've been dating and fucking James you have had a lot of movie dates. A lot. You have come to accept that the action films of the 80s will forever be engrained into your memory, alongside the horrific atrocitites comitted across the globe.

But two words have stuck by you from the mouth of one Arnold Swazeneiger across multiple frnachises, films and characters.

GET DOWN

You comply and close your eyes in a vain prayer to the God you've discounted and disavowed for all of your adult life. The goo gratefully accepts your weight as you slide along it, the substance splashing up into your mouth as the smell of burnt flesh fills the air.

You hear a thump behind you, as the warrior is pierced with a blue light lance and died with a cauterized hole clean through it's skull and shoulder region. The resulting wound almost reminds you of a yankball goal.

Looking away for a second to spit the goop out your outh, the command instincts tune in; "Resupply!"

Jess tosses you the grenade belt, which you catch mid reload.

You hear a crash as the giant Xeno breaks through into this room like the terrifying behemoth it is.

"What's the plan?" Cass asks over her railgun thing's loud recharge cycle.

You move to the left, Jess dropping her sentries to auto deploy before dashing to the right. The Giant Xeno however ignores the stinging bullets of the auto sentry pair and focuses in on you.

It's tail sneaks low to the ground becoming indistinguishable from the goop while you focus on your imminent toss. But it whips around with unnatural pace for a creature it's size, the two pronged plade attached fated to bisect you -

Soldier of Fortune Activates

The prong cleaves into your hip, parting the flesh muscle and bone easily. Your life flashes before your eyes and you make peace with your fate as you are soon to be in two places at once.

But the sizzling of flesh, ring of a flashbang and screeching of the monster all draw you back from the brink of death. You're currently missing half of your side and swinging through the air as you are now a fancy living tail ornament for this bastard. You might not walk away form this fight even if things go your way.

Leaves us with a chance of getting free.

Whether we do get free or don't, someone can hit the grenade belt slung on it with an explosive round or plasma shot to achieve a similar effect to detonating in its face.

While grenades are built to be shock-resistant, I imagine sufficient heat would still ignite the explosive charge.

Think he's saying the vote would require more than one round of actions?

In which case, the actions are listed in the order in which they should be performed. It should hopefully be marginally easier to toss our grenade belt around the alien's neck while affixed to its tail rather than on the ground and trying not to bleed out.

19

Ignoring the foreign body inside you aas best as you can. You pull at the harness attaching the bomb Betty and HARRY conconcted, dropping your shotguns to catch it.

"JESS HEADS UP!" You roar throwing the yankball shaped charge at her. "GET IT TO THE HIVE!" You add with a scream.

Jess and Cass sprint as the tech seems to know what you're doing. All of your noise attracts the attention of the Xeno, the monster staring it's eyeless skull down at you as you flip your thumbs over your bandoliers. Each pin and trigger being hit individually, as you switch to your native tongue for your perhaps final words; "Mírame, insecto, soy el demonio blanco. Nos vemos en el infierno."

Detonation.

You're blind.

You're deaf.

You're burning.

You're flying.

You're broken.

You're pierced.

You're bleeding.

You're bleeding.

You're dying.

You're sorry... James.

RITUAL 3 EPILOGUE Tomorrow
>>
Translation: Look at me you insect, I am the white devil. Meet you in Hell.

Q&A, feedback and anything you want to discuss is welcome here. The overarching plot is advancing rapidly. Two more rituals to go. Epilogue will be lengthy and James will be doign a lot of character interaction.

Jesus fuck, James literally can't have anything good happen in his life, can he?

Well that went better than expected. But you will have to up your game on the next ritual, this one was rather hamfisted.
>>
>>1231781

You will really like the epilogue.

But yeah we needed 20 to not die from two frags two incindiearies and two flashes point blank while also heavily wounded.

Soldier of Fortune knocks a lethal wound to dire wound - but it wouldn't have cooled down for four more rounds. So we suicide bombed without crit magic.
>>
>>1231796

I think this ritual really suffered from my schedule. I feel if I had got a lot done in part 1 and 2 we could have managed the split perspective a lot easier.

The traitors' actions also wrote me into a corner in terms of what I could and couldn't show at any time. All said and done, I like this ritual for what it does for the over arching story. On it's own tough; it'd be my least favourite.
>>
>>1231806
Can we have James go zerker/cold as ice fury next ritual? Just so depressed and furious that there is either, no showmanship and only business or just utter madman bonanza?
>>
>>1231842

The epilogue will have decisions about where his character wil go. Shit's able to go anywhere.
>>
>>1231842
I'd like if James could go just full insane next ritual almost purposely putting everything in danger
>>
>>1231842
I can see kinda see him swinging between hookers and blow and paranoid witch hunts. But the director will probably keep him on track.
>>
>>1231878

Well, see how you feel after the PLOT reveals tomorrow.

>>1231886
I honestly leave this in the hands of the naons, I have like 5-6 ideas. A lot of the epilogue wa splotted with Sue/Val surviving so this adds more options and removes some. The Org took a massive hit this ritual. Security is now just Jess until the mid year hiring.

No chance for an after credits scene? Under the broken, dead praetorian...a hand slowly emerges from goo. Jess's tracker pings. one, twice, she slowly turns and looks. She shouts and runs to the nearly-dead Susan.

TIME PASSES.

Down in a sub-sub-sub-sub-sub basement of this monstrous complex, quiet men and women stop moving around workbenches and computers as the phone on the wall rings. This has happened perhaps once, remembered only by the department head, who has been there longer than all of them. They are not called. They are never called. Except when they are, and then their call could mean that the world is truly about to end, or that they must sterilize a city to contain one of the horrors that has escaped. All they know is that their call means the last known measures must be taken. The department head walks across the room, and picks up the phone.

"This is Experimental. How can I help you, Director?"

"Well, we've never tried that before....we have had a project or two, but they were shelved. Yes, Ma'am. I understand Ma'am. We'll get on it."

The department head puts the phone back into its cradle on the wall and looks across the room. "Gregory, dust off the plans for Project MERCER. We've been asked to cyborg a High Value Personnel."

With that, the people around the room begin moving again. They all remember the motto of Experimental: "Deus Ex Machina."

It is the morning after the ritual, hangovers are nursed throughout the organisation. But this time it is a very somber and almost scared atmosphere; that something got out is enough to strike terror. That something got out and wiped out nigh everyone of the defenders? A lot of people are questioning how long humanity's luck will last?

James is one of them.

A long sleepless night, a long morning, surprisingly few tears, but he's lamost become immune to losing people now. It's necesarry in this job to become desensistised but he was rather hoping hewouldn't become desensisitised to losing his own.

First Rachel, now Susan. The Departments are experiencing more turnover the past two years than the past decade.

James gets a bottle and some cigs. Locks himself in the control room alone and drinks and smokes while reflecting what he does now, if he does anything now.
