Taking in Take

http://suptg.thisisnotatrueending.com/qstarchive.html?tags=Pokemon%20Island%20Adventure%20Quest
https://twitter.com/GobbleQM
Character info pastebin in progress: http://pastebin.com/iB0tb7rz
Dice cheat sheet: http://pastebin.com/994WTT3g

General rules:

There is a 10 minute voting period after each post. Non-contradictory votes will be combined as best as possible.

Write-ins for all votes are always welcome and encouraged. They may not all make it into the post or be altered to fit in, but I'll do my best to at least try to address the spirit of the write-in.

Very important or contentious votes may be redone in a stricter voting system as circumstances warrant.

Combat mechanics involve three rolls of 1d100, taking the best, and using the base accuracy and crit ranges of the game, roughly, but the 'turn order' will be more like the anime, where sometimes you can do a few moves in a row or be hit by a combo of moves yourself, all depending on circumstances. Stronger moves tend to take more time and have more cooldown than weaker moves, so beware of that timing. Speed is more important for closing ground, intercepting, and other things and doesn't necessarily mean going first. Infact, you can do more than one move in a row like the anime, but so can your opponents.

Call me out on a mistake and receive a suggestive picture, mostly likely a butt.

Pokemon:
Gobble (Munchlax)
Mace (Roggenrola)
Belladonna (Roselia)
Dice (Totodile)

Badges: 2

Recently: Hana got zapped, you go to Take, confronted Laki about a joke, awkwardly flirted with Hana, and turn down a sidequest.

You look some bamboo. Luckily, it seems to grow pretty heavily here. You’re the farthest thing from an arborist, but even you can spot it in the wild.

“Alright gang, let’s get to work!”

You wonder how much you’re supposed to get. You figure he’d probably tell you if it was more than you could carry, so you decide on that for your limit.

Your pokemon help, in their own ways. Bella is trying to cut a bamboo shoot down, and slowly getting some practice to a move that looks like Cut to you. You’ve always heard it was sub-par in battle but great to know for stuff like this. Maybe she’ll learn it with time?

Dice chews a shoot down, but he starts chewing that one up after.

Gobble works hard at first to knock a few over, but gets distracted when he finds that young bamboo shoots are edible. He stops eating them. You think maybe he’s full, but instead he walks to your bag, gets some spices, applies them, then goes back to eating. Besides him being a little heavy on the salt, you’re very proud.

“Gobble! That one has a bug on it. Don’t...nevermind.”

You glance to Mace. He’s using moves like Headbutt to crack them at their base. It’s not that effective because they’re a little springy, but he’s working hard.

You’re having a hard time of it yourself. You don’t have any saws. You resort to using your good serrated knife from your cooking set.

After a good long while, you wipe the sweat from your brow, and gather up all the shoots. You plot onto the ground next to it with your pokemon. “Good job. Take a break, everyone. We’ll head back after.”

What an exhausting day. Your body is already seizing up like a rusted thing that seizes. You don’t know mechnical stuff. You lie there for a bit, thinking.

Super comfy. Great image. Out-of-focus background really gives an impression of depth and makes Moon pop out. Sand, sunlight, and soft towel all look super inviting. Moon herself is easily recognizable, her pose shows off her assets well without looking unnatural, and her smile invites me to stay. It's obvious that she's nude sunbathing on a beach in alola, and turning to give us her attention. Her hair and skin have a healthy shine to them which makes them look even softer. Face is a little angular though. Artist signature is easy to find and legible without being intrusive. Even the censor bars are in good fun. Makes me happy, like she and I could fuck right there or just relax in the sun together and it wouldn't matter which. Welcome to Alola/10.

You let your mind go where it will. You heard that was what you’re supposed to do when meditating, but people get all caught up on trying not to try and it just turns screwy.

Well, you won’t bother with any of that. Too tired. You just lie down, looking up at the trees and sky, feeling the breeze and your pokemon. A leaf reminds you of a spice, a cloud looks like beautiful womanly hips, a smell reminds you of the field by your old home, the way Gobble stretches and lies back down is exactly the same way your little brother did in his crib when he was new to the world.

You close your eyes. Deep inside you see coloured threads. You don’t have think what they are. You just feel their relation to your own mind and aura. You reach out and pull one.

>Blue. Reliability and stability, helping you prevent or mitigate failure
>Red. The passion to use more in a shorter time and burn bright

You tug on the blue one. You’re not the luckiest person around, or the most competent, so anything you do to keep your failures from being too bad or numerous is a good thing. Mom had this plaque on the door to her office that read “Amateurs practice till they get it right; professionals practice till they can't get it wrong.” It’s a little cheesy, but it always sounded like good advice to you. You let yourself get wrapped in the thread. And for some reason, you think your abilities are just a little more reliable.

Hmm, you could go for something with melted cheese.

Woah! What time is it? Your pokemon are gathered around you still, which makes you relieved. Dice even got inside his pokeball somehow.

You scrounge for your pokedex. Before you can even get it out, you hear a spot a dark figure under the weak moonlight. Definitely human shaped.

“Hello?”

It bursts into a run. Before you can even move, the figure leaps through the air at you. Arms and legs fly open wide and it impacts on you like a net.

“Herb!”

“Keira?” You aren’t sure how you’re able to stand up. Your pokemon, who scattered, come crawling back out. At least they have the decency to look embarrassed about it. You already forgive them, though. You were scared too.

“Yeah-huh! How are you? Everyone was worried.”

“Umm. Fine. I’m really sorry. I guess I fell asleep.”

She slowly slides down your body until she gets low enough to make your heart race for a different reason, then she shoots back up to face you. “It’s okay. I kept telling them you’re fine. I can tell with these things. But I couldn’t sleep. I was setting up wards for the ship so everyone would calm down about the ghost from before.” She narrows her eyes at you for a second. At your hair. The moonlight glints off the concentrated moisture. “Hey. I didn’t notice this before, but I thought I saw something in your aura. Something...aww, nevermind. Just glad to see you.”

She takes your hand and guides you back. You glance back to make sure your pokemon are following, and they are glued to you.

She hums while leading the way.

“Excited for your next gym battle?”

I really like non-traditional goals in these kinds of stories. Getting all the badges, going to all the contests, those are boring and standard. I remember thinking Vance's goal of just getting better at his fucking hobby was much more interesting and open ended.

At the beginning I was completely on board with focusing on becoming a master chef, but with recent developments I'm actually beginning to wonder if we should be come a fucking magic enlightened Pokemon guru.

I definitely want to focus hardcore on developing ourself, independent of hardcore goals at the very least. The gyms and shit can come second.

>>

>>
I think we should do the gyms and all but it should not be the primary focus, going on adventures and exploring sounds more fun; the gyms are just an excuse to go to these places.
>>
I like collecting badges though, I love meeting all the gym leaders and going through their challenges. Hell the fire gym has been hands down my favorite of the gyms counting the ones from this quest and the last one.
>>
>>1223681
I prefer a nice balance of training and side quest. We do need to work on some of our mons move list. (Mace getting Sandstorm, some asking for Gobble to learn Recycle, etc)
>>
>>1223693
there is no reason that for the most part the side quest can't BE the training, take how Bella almost just learned Cut. Standard training is not necessary if we develop an innovative enough work program.
>>
>>1223702
Well a lot of the innovation can be hit and miss. We can still do some traditional training to refine and get those attacks down.
>>
>>1223714
I agree, but I far more balanced approach then what Kat took could be fun and effective.
>>
>>1223682
>>1223691

I agree. Exploring with our friends, pushing each other to pursue our hobbies, getting strong enough to take on the gyms, in that order. I like meeting the gym leaders, and the burning temple challenge was a great new take on stuff like this.
>>
“I don’t think I’m ready. And we just arrived, so I want to do a lot of training first.”

“Well, don’t work yourself too hard. You look pretty tired.” She feels your forehead. “If you keep going so hard, you’ll get sick.

“Thanks. Oh yeah. How’s Hana?”

“She’s doing well! Laki tracked almost everything down and said she’d get the last thing tomorrow.”

“And umm, how are things between them?”

“Hmm? Oh, fine. Laki’s been extra nice.” She helps you back onto the boat. She’s a lot quieter now. She can move like a shadow when she wants to. You wouldn’t know she was there if she wasn’t in front of you.

You ask her about auras, and if she can teach you anything.

She clasps her hands together. “Can we? Oh! I’d like that a lot! I’m not a master of it or anything, but I can teach you the basics, and brew helpful teas, and we can intermingle our auras.” She pokes her fingers together. “Erm, that last part can get a little... personal.”

“Thanks.”

“No problem! But first you need some sleep.”

Yeah. She’s right about that. You can barely keep your eyes open. You and your pokemon go to your cabin and get ready for bed. You crawl in and get nice and cozy in your boxers as you feel the soft sheets embrace you for whatever’s left of the night.

There’s a soft knock on the door.

“Herb?” It’s Valerie. She slowly opens the door. “Hey. Sorry. I heard you come in. I can’t sleep.”

You do your best to assure her that it’s fine. Your eyelids are so heavy.

She pulls on her hair and looks around. “Anyway, if you don’t want to, it’s fine, but can we sleep here?” Her pokemon peak around from behind her. “That ghost really scared us, and I spent last night in Laki’s bed, but things are getting...well, that’s not important. And Hana is already asleep and I can’t move her to get in beside her.”

>Sure. You’ll sleep on the floor.

Alternatively, she may be trying to sleep with Herb because she sees him as less sexually threatening than Laki, which is kind of sad.

Very good worldbuilding in this one. Moon's Stantler costume provides some love to a rarely seen pokemon, and its bagginess looks comfortable. Lillie's costume is cute without seeming like something she'd be afraid to wear in public. The picture seems to be of Moon and Lillie out on a date, and each of them are excited in their own way, with Moon having the confidence Lillie lacks. Glad ion in the background helps draw our eyes to the girls' booty and provides a cute joke. The Minior tree topper is a nice touch, but implies it is at below half health, which is concerning. The gradient background implies a warmth of spirit unique to the winter holidays. It's March though. No artist in image or file name. I hope their date goes well/10.

Also, when do we resolve to learn a recipie from all the temples in-character?

You’re so tired. Your head is heavy. Everything is heavy. “Sure. Hop in.” You pat the inside of the bed.

Valerie hesitates. But there’s a creek from the boat settling. At least, that’s what you assume. Valerie almost leaps and looks around. “Oh. Nevermind. Thanks.” She crawls into the bed.

She crawls in. There’s a flood of cold from the air rushing under the blankets, then a nice soothing warmth as she crawls in.

“Herb, You’re a gentleman, right?”

“Myeh huh.”

The distinct sensation of silk brushes your skin and reminds you that you’re just wearing boxers. But even that doesn’t matter as much as sleep. Sleep is everything.

There’s another creek, and you feel your arm being pulled over something warm but still shivering. It presses into you and smells like lavender. The feeling of pokemon cuddling by your feet completes the perfect comfy feeling and you drift off to sleep.

You wake up the next morning seeing an incredible display of smooth butt in a silky pink underwear stuffing itself into a pair of tight shorts. You make a tiny squeaking noise at the shock. Not what you expected first thing in the morning.

Valerie turns around.

>>

Normal cloning can't give you the same person the sample is taken from, because they'll have had different experiences. What we need is for Hoopa/Solgaleo/Lunala to grab Herb from the r63 universe. What's the female equivalent to being hung, anyways? As far as recessive disorders go, if Herb had any X-linked recessive disorders they would already be expressed, so no problem there.

Last quest was on a different scale desu, but even considering that, the fact of the matter is that in pokemon training and self development is pretty much the core of the fucking series. Do you expect someone to get to the fucking league championships and not be really fucking good?

We SHOULD become a master of SOMETHING by the end. You're not a Mary Sue savant if you become the best after busting your ass for 100 threads. If we didn't reach that level I'd honestly feel like we were in a total rut of mediocrity.

The issue is with how that development is paced.
>>
>>1224088
It was "high-level." We were an exceptional group of people, but we faced level-appropriate challenges and were very human in our flaws and insecurities. I probably sounded like I was complaining when I talked about it before, but honestly most of it came from having a cast that was both young and competent, which is a weird combination to me.

“Good morning.” You force yourself to act naturally.

“Oh. Heh. Good morning.” Valerie does the same. “Did...did you sleep well?” She looks away, pretending she’s not doing it on purpose. You’re only able to read that because you do it a lot, too.

You stretch, and swing yourself out of the bed. You make sure not to look at yourself, or you’ll get too self conscious. But it’s only now that you suddenly feel the springy stiffness in front of you. You hear a gasp as you give in to the urge to look down.

Yup.

You quickly cover up, tuck, and rush your pants on.

“Sorry! I didn’t mean-”

You stop talking because she’s saying the exact same phrase.

“To look!”

“No. That’s fine. I didn’t mind that you saw. I mean-”

“No. I know. I mean, not that you-”

“But that part was an-”

“Accident! I know. You’re a guy and that just-”

“Happens! Exactly. I didn’t mean anything by it. And it’s got nothing to do with you!” Oh crud. “I mean, you’re really pretty and you smell really nice.” don’t be creepy. “Not that I noticed.” That doesn’t make any sense! “But that’s not why-”

“It’s okay! You just wanted to not be shy and be like everyone else on the islands and make getting dressed no big deal. Right? Me too. And we did sleep together, so it’s not like seeing each other in the morning is a big deal.”

You laugh and make a bunch of gestures showing she’s dead on because you don’t want to interrupt her. She starts doing it too and you both act like that those flailing inflatable tube guys except you’re also making weird faces. You’re both just trying so hard to show the other that it’s not weird and it’s making it weirder.

“Breakfast?”

“Yeah. I’m so hungry I could eat a horse-di...A horsea!”

You both head to the kitchen and you volunteer to make breakfast. Everyone says it’s fine, but you can’t help but feel flattered that nobody fights hard at all when you insist. Laki even flicks Valerie’s shoulder when she sounds too much like you should relax.

But to you, cooking is relaxing.

You put on the apron that’s hanging there. You wish you packed on yourself. Now let’s see. What do you and your pokemon need most for training today?

Honestly I'm on the fence about evolving him. Depends on what Gobble wants to do. He seems to enjoy dancing and is actively experimenting with his culinary skills. Might mean we'll need a battle team and a cooking team.

Wonder if they have an island version of Iron Chef. We'll need a Miltank (for MooMilk), a Shuckle (Berry Juice) and any other food based pokemon to make the most bad as cooking staff.

You cook up a main dish that’ll give lots of energy for today, so you’ll be able to practice a long time. You also make a smaller side dish that should keep everyone cheery. It’s amazing the power that food has. You tighten your apron and serve it up, to the thanks and applause of the group.

“Oh look! Gobble learned recycle!”

“Oh. Oh gross.” Laki shifts her plate away.

“It’s okay. It’s a natural...oh. Yech.” Keira says, despite herself.

Gobble ignores all criticism and does it again. This time he’s not able to get it back and looks crushed. He wanted to eat it again and again.

“It’s okay, Gobble.” You set down another plate for him. “I got you.”

He lights up, quickly adjusts a little bib made from a napkin, calmly picks up his cutlery, and drops his face onto his plate and eats without using any of that stuff.

Ah. You feel great. You grab another plate, but on your way back to the table, you come face to face with Mr. Scwhibbles.

“Oh. H-hello.”

He stares blankly.

“Are...are you hungry?” You slowly offer the plate.

He silently takes it, then slinks away into the darkness of the ship.

You try not to think about it and get yourself another plate and sit down with everyone else.

Laki avoids talking to you, but utters a “thanks” as she finishes her plate and carries the other plates away.

“So, all of us were going to head into town today.”

Hana nods. Apparently she’s feeling more up to it, despite the issues with her limbs.

“There’s a training center there, if you want to go.”

“It didn’t look very clean.” Valerie says. But she quickly covers her mouth. “I don’t mean-”

“No, it’s not clean.” Keira assures her. “Which is strange, because cleanliness is a large part of our culture. I don’t want to step on any toes, but I think I should check out the temple after all and see what’s going on.”

“Sometimes you have to get dirty to get things done.” Laki says bluntly as she hitches up her bag and walks past, not looking at you. “I’ll get that last part today. I’ll call you and we can meet up.”

“I feel guilty making you go alone.” Hana works up the courage to tell her.

“Don’t.” Laki hops onto the dock. “Stay close to Valerie or someone will kidnap you and sell you for scrap.”

Laki glances back to see if you’re going to say anything.

You quickly gather your stuff and pokemon and run out after her. She’s already gotten a good distance, and doesn’t slow down to help you catch up.

“Soft Hands.”

“Hey.”

“You going to town? I’ll walk you in, but after that you’re on your own. Keep your hands in your pockets and don’t let anyone bribe you into a van with candy.”

Well, she’s willing to joke, even if her sense of humour is a little dark right now.

“What should I let them bribe me with?”

She gives you a funny look, then cracks a small smile despite herself.

You walk for a bit. She doesn’t say much except a warning to watch your step on a sudden drop on the path around a corner.

“Hey. About yesterday. I’m sorry. Normally I wouldn’t say anything, but she doesn’t like it when people treat her differently because of her prosthetics.”

She waves your concerns away. “Nah. I get it. Hana’s a delicate flower and you’ve got to be the knight in shining armor sticking up to the big bad bully. Did she at least give you a reward?”

You aren’t sure how to respond to that.

She sighs. “Sorry. I didn’t mean to sound so bitter. Guess I'm still taking it too far. We’re good, Soft Hands.” She pauses to think. “We are good, right?”

You nod. If course you are.

She smiles and puts you into a headlock, and gives you a soft and quick nuggie. “Alright. But just so you know, girls don’t care about that sort of thing. Well, they do, but they don’t appreciate it. You do everything for her or put her first all the time, she won’t respect you. Anybody that doesn’t respect you won’t get your dick wet.”

“That’s not why I did it.” You try to sound cool.

“I know, Soft Hands. That ain’t you. You’re a good guy.” She leans on you. “You choose the wrong things to be ballsy on, but you’re good.”

“I said I was sorry...”

She punches your arm. Ow. “Okay. I’ll stop giving you a hard time. Truth be told, I respect you for it. Don’t let that get to your head though or think I won’t turn you into mush if you piss me off, okay?”

"Thanks for the advice. Hug?”

“Yeah. Sure.” She stops and gives you a big one. She feels smaller when you hold her like this. At least, no longer larger than life.

You have a devilish idea as she breaks it. You come around and reach to put her into a headlock.

“Oh no you don’t.” She grabs your arm to fight you off. You move your arms some more to get better leverage.

“Yes. I. Do!” You give her a quick tickle, then when she laughs and tries to stop you, you’re able to get your arm on her neck.

And it works!

At least, until she leans forward and lifts you off the ground. Your headlock doesn’t break, but you have no control about where the two of you are going. She carries you around as you hang off of her until she gets tired of it and lets you off.

“You’re getting stronger.” She squeezes your arm. “But you’ve got a bit to go.”

“Thanks. Sorry if I was too rough.” You notice the red mark you left on her neck. It’s fading, but you still feel bad.

“You’re a good guy, Herb. But you’re too nice. Some broken girl is going to bring you all her problems and you’ll keep trying to fix them until you’re all used up, burnt out, and bitter. I don’t ever want to see that happen to you. When you settle down with a girl, make sure she’s a sweet as you, okay?”

[That’s it for tonight. Thanks for coming. Sorry it was a slow one. Janebin is in progress. That Rule 63 gave me an idea for an AU bin, too.

I just delivered a pizza to a new father at the hospital. Everybody needs someone to lean on, some more than others. You should be proud of yourself that you're a dependable part of the lives of those close to you. You know where your limits are. Love you.
>>
>>1231973
it's annoying to be in that position though, being dependable is all well and good but it makes you wonder "if I can get my shit together then why can't everybody else" fixing other people's shit is a draining and thankless job.
>>
>>1232002
Like I said, you gotta know your own limits. And it is because it is hard that you can be proud doing it. Not that any of us know any specifics, of course. But we do know that Gobble makes a point to be here for us, and I think the least I can do is make sure that's not thankless too.

Also, can I just say how hyped I am that Gobbs learned recycle? That was the Munchlax-exclusive move I was most wanting. Now he can really milk that last Citrus berry. Gobbs has really just been a best lately.
>>
>>1232102
it's not quiet the same thing, Gobble doesn't help us when we are in need they provide something we want. People in need I find are rarely thankful when you help them, and the whole experience tends to be mentally draining and unpleasant. At least in my own experience.

I'm thankful for what Gobble does as well, but if it was something I needed instead of something I wanted I would probably be too busy thinking of myself to be thankful; it's human nature.
>>
>>1232134
Okay, I think I get it. I'm younger and I probably haven't been on that side of things so much yet.

Still, I'm probably getting away from myself. What training are we wanting to do? I myself am a sucker for nailing down levelup moves. Screech for Gobbs, magical leaf for Bella, etc.
>>
>>1232196
stat training is also a good option, we lack a lot of the diversity our old team had.

Zappy with his broken special attack and defense
Destiny with her insane dodge
Vlad with his crazy speed
Levi with her broken attack stat

We're 28 threads in and none of our team really excel at anything.
>>
>>1232213
>We're 28 threads in and none of our team really excel at anything.
But Mace excels at being really old.
>>
>>1232213
Well this quest is also going at a much slower pace. We have trained almost every day.

I think moves for Bella and Dice. HP for Gobs and Energy Evasion for Mace.
>>
Hmm, so we should be able to grab:

Bella: Poison Sting(easy), Magical Leaf(Probable), Cut (already started)

Dice: Flail (probable)

Gobble:Defense Curl(easy), Screech (Probable) [Odor Sleuth and Recycle need to be added to the pastebin]

Mace: Smack Down (probable) [Mud-Slap is in the pastebin twice]

I think we can get those marked (easy) down really quickly. If we decide to try for something more long-term and exotic, I'd like to see us teach Mace Gravity. I understand people will probably want to focus on energy training and meditation, which is cool too.

Come to think of it though, we should probably have Bella tutor our other 'mon in the way of Toxic, assuming TM moves can work like that.
>>
>>1232335
I really think Hana's Tirtuga or however that is spelt and Dice should train together. Pray for Aqua Jet.

Mace and Gobble don't have many other good moves so I say we should focus on stats for now.
>>
>>1232335
I admit I'm not the most knowledgeable about Pokemon moves, but why are you interested in Mace learning Gravity?

[If I had to guess, it's that Gravity is one of those niche moves that works well with the quest format but doesn't see love in competitive metagame. It grounds flying pokemon, negates effects like Magnet Rise, prevents stuff like Fly or Hi Jump Kick, and in general just ruins some stalling strategies or fucks up some flying Pokemon's strategy.

Thanks for the kind words everyone. I always feel terrible cancelling. I'm looking forward to the next thread and also made some notes for a girl talk bin that may or may not end in lewds.

So far we have:

Girl-talk bin

>>
>>1232562
>>1232572
Not to say I don't think the girl talk bin with lewd wouldn't be hot. It sounds very hot indeed.
>>
>>1232548
Several reasons, actually.
1. Gravity powers are kickass.
2. Gravity multiplies the accuracy of all moves by 5/3. This means that all moves with an accuracy of at least 60% now hit 100% of the time, namely Stone Edge, or negating evasion increases.
3. None of our pokemon can fly (Mace's limited fuel doesn't count to me yet.) By grounding flyers, we can prevent them from staying out of our range.
4. We can cancel/block bounce, fly, splash, jump kick, high jump kick, magnet rise, telekinesis, sky drop, and flying press.
5. We can prevent flying types from avoiding Bella's toxic spikes
6. We can hit flying types and levitators with ground moves.
7. We can maybe cheese it to suppress stealth rocks, which normally float in the air.
8. Mace is a little guy and he'll likely be fighting bigger, heavier opponents who will be more affected and less likely to be able to move and more likely to get stuck. *cough*Lairon*cough*
9. It will probably make sandstorm hurt like a bitch.
10. We can train under 10X gravity Dragonball style.
11. What if Mace is upside-down when he uses it? Does that make anti-gravity?
12. I have a mental image of us falling off a cliff and being saved by anti-gravity.
13. Did I mention it was kickass?
14. Throwing the projectile trajectory of our opponents attacks off.

Basically, it's pretty damn versatile.

Also, I really want to see if recycle works on rare candy.

>>1232562
I'm tempted to request bins anytime character interactions happen off-screen. Hana talking about lewd things with Val. Hana talking about Mainlanders customs with Keira. Whatever was suggested is going on between Val and Laki when Val asked to sleep with us. Jane saying hurtful things to Laki. Jane's internal decision process to re-classify us from reverse-flash tier misery architect to rival. Jane spreading rumors about us to Val/Polu. It seems like you have concrete things in mind, or maybe you just know how to tease. But bits like the meditation bins are so goddamn juicy to me. Even more than a lot of Lewds.
>>
>>1232597
We could probably combine Gravity with Rock Wrecker or Stone edge for some sort of special move, Asteroid Impact maybe? Blackhole Blitz?
>>
>>1232600
Have Mace zip up in the air, use gravity to immobilize/slow them, then zip down in the gravity with energy boost/aiming. Maybe use tackle on impact.

My god.

[You absolutely can. I want to encourage more combos and things. I think one thing I might try in the next combat is that high rolls (not necessarily in crit range) or 'setup votes' allow for options about a followup move. I'd like to see Hana get all awkward after revealing her power level and the other girls getting confused by it. Maybe Laki gets it or Val since they both seem to know about mainland culture.

I'd like to see Val and Keira swapping make up tips and the others secretly taking notes.

For Laki I'd actually like her to lower her guard a bit and may be get all self-conscious and start bullying one of the girls that noticed or something like that.

Sorry none of these are really subjects per say.
>>
>>1232658
General things, interests, gossip, Dic-Herb, pokemon.

as long as they have fun I'll read it. Heck I'll read it anyway.
>>
>>1232658
anything is fine, you know what you're doing so it'll turn out good independent of topic.
>>
>>1232666
>so are dicks usually that big or what?

also keira asking advice indirectly about her issue with Herb
>>
>>1232658
Boys.

Especially our best boy, but Polu too. Val's had a boyfriend before. Have the others? Apparently Jane's been burned before romantically. It'd be interesting to get their opinions on length vs girth vs the motion of the ocean.

Now that I give it some thought though, pokemon training. I want to hear about how Laki's bonding with Wailmer. If Val is considering any further battling/ gyms. A tm is a tempting prize, especially if it would be appealing in a contest. I wanna know what sort of personality Tropius has. I wanna know if Togepi is getting more disciplined. I wanna know how Dewpider was caught. Hell, I want them to all swap stories about how they met/caught their pokemon. I WANNA KNOW WHAT KEIRA WILL DO IF NINCADA WANTS TO EVOLVE!

I want Val to do their hair and Keira to read their auras.

I want Laki and Keira to make the others jealous of their massage times. (Because I want to be asked to rub the others down too, especially Hana's stumps.)

I want Keira to feel awkward about being treated as holy and other by Laki/Polu.

I want Hana to pull Laki aside and tell her what nicknames cross the line or dredge up sour memories.

I want Laki to get trussed up in a sundress.

I really really want to see Val and Laki's will-they-won't-they developments. (I'm conflicted about whether I want them to get together. As long as Val doesn't make a decision she regrets, whichever that would be.)

I want all the girls in priestess masks. ( assuming that's not blaspheme)

I want Hana to introduce Keira to video games.

I'm gonna be honest, I don't know a lot about girl talk.

Overall, you have a great opportunity to flesh out both your characters and setting, and we're probably going to be eager to eat it up as fast as you can produce it. But you're going to have to make a judgement call about what things should be revealed to the players in real-time in-character, and what doesn't need to be. I feel like you've got a good handle on that though, and even when we do know some things Herb doesnt, between you and us we play in-character pretty damn well.

Also, hottest of pictures. If you've got sauce, I'd like to review it.
>>
>>1232658
oh also forgot, boob comparisons. I'm not sur eifd that actually happens, but it's hot.

you're a girl, Gobble, you know what girls talk about, just make it sound natural
>>
>>1232686
>I want Laki to get trussed up in a sundress.
All my yes

It's also not a will they won't they, because as long as herb hasn't picked a waifu, they'll both be available.

>>1232658
Not so much talk, but them doing their hair and nails would be great, typical girl stuff.
>>
>>1232691
Unless we play matchmaker. I'm not advocating it. But if Val asks our advice as to whether or not she should go for gold, I would like to say something like "go for it if it's what you want, and if you feel like you're not ready or don't want a casual encounter, feel good with that choice."
>>
>>1232695
You realize people without noble intentions are going to abuse your sentimentality, all for furthering their own waifu war goal.
>>
>>1232686
I love this kind of obsession, even if the topics of the bin really don't matter to me. You are crazy in the best ways anon.
>>
>>1232697
If I have one defining character trait, it's an excessive amount of patience.

If I had a second, it'd be a propensity for extremely, usually detrimentally high or low levels of interest.

Those are actually things I need to work on. But it does my heart good to know I can be productively obsessive, too.
>>
>>1232701
Clearly you need to put those talents to use writing more smut.
>>
>>1232695
If we play matchmaker I'm going with Val/Hana. Laki can go find a nice islander boy like Polu.

>>1232738
Supporting this anon. They have a good idea.
>>
Generally character development & funny situations would be good for the girls, things like laki picking trying to pick up beauty tips from val/kiera while being non chalant/underhanded about it, hana trying to increase her confidence & ending up peer pressured into climbing a high tree with kiera & falling, or having an arm wrestle with laki (robo arm vs muscle girl). favourite pokemon, childhood stories, herb talk being about MORE than his horse d, & the lewdness being an undercurrent of the conversation about his food or battle training, or how weird he acts, Maybe get on the topic of jane from laki, & end up discussing wether or not she's a paranoid bitter hothead, or if her theory on herb being a manipulative sociopath is true? (surely NOBODY could be that airheaded gentle & yet badass & with such a huge di-), make plans together, ask val asking about things to do across the islands

Just a fun sidestory for character development, interaction between characters we dont usually see, aspirations, how they think & feel, & general lulz, pizzaanon had plenty of good ideas
>>
>>1232955
>>1232686
I want them to have a really girly sleepover, love the idea of makeup from kiera, & dressing up from val, with hana being self concious, laki rejecting it out of embarrasment but pressured into it & loving it, & kiera being not fully understanding & just playing about, Shit would be so cash Maybe it could be set during the time they were waiting for herb to get back to the yacht before they got worried & kiera went out looking?
>>
I do care about one thing now that I've thought about it more, if it's not too much to ask I would like it to be canon. Non-canon things are fine too but only when they are lewd.

This is just my personal preference.
>>
>>1232658
Kiera asking Val and Hana about main land stuff would be nice. "Why do you call it mac and cheese if all your adding to the pasta is a powder?" Just innocent stuff.
>>
>>1232658
>>1232988
Speaking of which the reverse would also be nice, Val and Hana wondering about island specific traditions or anything cool to look forward to on the other islands that they may not have heard about yet.
>>
>>1232658
I'd like to see them discuss their own Pokemon. Like if Laki is having trouble with Wailmer, Hana might suggest something since he loves water types. I figure during the main quest having interactions with every person and their Pokemon might be much, but little stuff like how Jane praised her Fletchinder and how others interact with their Pokemon help things feel natural.

Gobble (Munchlax)
Mace (Roggenrola)
Belladonna (Roselia)
Dice (Totodile)

“You’re a good guy, Herb. But you’re too nice. Some broken girl is going to bring you all her problems and you’ll keep trying to fix them until you’re all used up, burnt out, and bitter. I don’t ever want to see that happen to you. When you settle down with a girl, make sure she’s a sweet as you, okay?”

You lose yourself in thought for a moment. You probably should be training right now, considering the commitment you made and the big breakfast you have to work off. You want to be really prepared for the next challenge.

You glance back over. Laki has a smile on her face, but she quickly forces it away. “What?” She pushes you relatively gently. “Stop it! What?”

Holy fuck that is a great idea. Can we get some threads from other characters' perspective? Just a couple of them, at some point where we are in different islands and such, to see how they're doing, getting more exposition for them and all.

"Someone like you?"

“Psh! Come on.” She pushes you again. “Don’t be sarcastic. It doesn’t suit you.”

“I mean it.” You blink. “You’re really sweet, Laki.” It just comes out of you easily. You can’t say the word ‘no’ without feeling your heart pound out of your body, you can’t say a lot of what you think sometimes, but this just feels natural. It’s a statement of fact.

She slowly turns a deep shade of red. The sound of the wind in the trees becomes the loudest thing around.

“W-what are...” She turns her face away, covers it with one arm, and sloppily reaches out with the other at you. “Don’t look! Just..shut up. Some dirt flew in my eye.”

“Want me to take a look?”

“I...no. I'm fine.” She bends over, wipes her face, and looks back to you. She’s still red and looks like she ate of bunch of spicy food. She gets you in a headlock again before you can say anything. “You’re a real jerk idiot moron, you know that?”

“What’d I do-” She cuts you off with a face full of breast. Then she tickles you without mercy. You do your best to fight her off, but you’re still sore from all that training and you can’t see. There may or may not be a part of you that doesn’t want to fight too hard, considering your position.

She eventually lets you go. “A teasing for a teasing, Soft Hands. Next time you say something stupid like that, I’ll really let you have it.”

She doesn’t give you a chance to respond. She hitches her bag up and starts heading off. “Go train.” You can’t see her smile, but you can hear it in her voice.

You don’t understand girls at all. You thought it was just a simple compliment.

You unwrinkle your clothes as much as you can, and turn to your pokemon. You guess it’s time to train. You bet if you concentrate on one goal for everyone, you’ll get more progress.

If you guys are serious about the moves Ice Punch or Aqua Jet would be my suggestions for Dice, Poison Sting is good for Bella but I'd also push for Toxic, Smack Down or Bulldoze for Mace and for Gobble Body Slam or Rest to later progress into snore and sleep talk training

Bella already has toxic. I like going in order on the levelup move list, because those moves can usually be learned quickly and you get good bang/buck that way. I'd like to get >>1232335 out of the way before starting on anything exotic.

>>1233757
She said she'd find us when she felt like it. Apparently she's keeping tabs on our movements, which is a little bit concerning.
>>
>>1233769
That's fine, screech would be really good for Gobble hell Dice too is Gobble could help Dice with it down the line. I just love using that rest sleep talk combo especially since we aren't hampered by 4 moves.
>>
>>1233770
Oh, no doubt that's a tasty combo, and I'm excited for it. But those moves will come easier as a snorlax. I like the way you think with having Gobbs help Dice with Screech.

Now that we have access to Recycle, do we want to give Gobble a Citrus Berry or the Silk Scarf during the gym battle?

“Let’s all learn a new move. We’ll work together, and that way we can all help each other out, okay? If there's time after that, we'll figure out what else to do.”

Everyone seems to be agreeable with that. Mace offers a salute, you think. Gobble looks back from trying to shake a fruit loose from a tree and nods. Belladonna stands on a rock like she’s making a proclamation that she won’t need help. Dice chews on a stick.

“Alright team. In that case, here’s what we’re going to learn today. Gobble, your move will be...”

“Body Slam! I know you can do it, Gobble. It’s just like Tackle, but, well, more.”

He looks up at the hanging fruit high in the tree. He takes a few steps back, then uses Tackle.

“Yeah, sort of like that, but more with the belly." You try to extend your stomach and smack it. "I’ll come back around if give you some tips, okay?

He looks back and nods, then gives it another go.

You stroke your chin and look down at Mace. His face twitches a few times as he listens in to the sounds of the nearby forest.

“Mace. How are you feeling?”

He tilts his body up at you. Hard to read, that Mace. But you’re getting better. He’s up for whatever you want to throw at him.

“Alright. In that case, let’s work on...”

“Yours is going to be a bit different. I read about this move before, Gravity. It’ll be really helpful against flying types. In fact, I bet it would have been handy with the Fire Gym.”

You describe the move to him in more detail, and set him some room in some tall grass. His task is to use gravity to flatten the grass around him. You walk over to Bella, who is confidently boasting to Dice about something atop her rock.

“Belladonna. How’s my beautiful little flower today?”

She beams and leaps into your arms. She’s gone from braggart to cuddly, adorable, and helpless in a second.

“What move are we going to teach you today?” You poke her where her nose would be. Huh. You wonder how she smells.

“How’s poison Jab and Poison Sting sound?”

She sticks out two pointy thorns to show you she can handle learning it. You almost drop her in surprise. “Careful! Don’t prick me with anything poison.”

She giggles. You weren’t joking. You set her down. “Your task is straightforward. Punch through this rock, okay? I’ll come back and check how you’re doing.”

She reaches up at you pathetically and makes a noise. You lean over and give her a little kiss on the head. She glows with happiness, but when she realizes Dice is watching she makes a lot of angry noises until he wanders away.

You go catch up with Dice. He seems to have forgotten all about it already and is just wandering around looking at things. He pokes a stick.

You snap your fingers. “Alright, Dice. Here’s the plan! We’re going to learn Aqua Tail!” You really try to pump him up.

But he stares blankly at you.

“Y’know, a water move that uses your tail. See?” You make whooshing noises and wag like you have one. Bella laughs and it makes you more self-conscious than you’d like to admit.

Mace seems to get it though, and he starts swinging his tail around and walking backwards.

“Well, a bit like that. Kinda. We’ll get it.” You set him up a task to take down a bunch of upright bamboo. Now that you look at it, this island seems to have a lot of it. He gets to work smacking it with his tail, but doesn’t make much progress due to the restrictive spacing. That’s okay, that just means they’ll last longer and he can get more practice out of it.

You sit down on a tree stump for a moment and look around to see how everyone else is doing. They just started, so you don’t want to pressure them too much by hovering over their shoulders.

A caw grabs your attention. Your head snaps up.

“Murkrow! How are you?”

It caws and flies down, setting it’s bag full of goodies on the ground. It looks like he trusts you enough to show you some goods to choose from, and make an offer.

You lean over and reach to pick one up to examine it, but he caws and pecks at your hand. You retract it before he can make contact, though,

“Alright. Alright. But you get better results with honey!” Well, that depends on the dish, but he knows what you mean.

“I’ll give you this shiny new TM, and these shiny coins, for that box and that other TM.”

It considers your offer. It gave you a Sunny Day TM before, but it wasn’t very shiny. And shininess seems like a big part of what it considers valuable. Colourfulness seems to help, too.

It makes a grunt-like noise and drags the items over. It keeps stopping to look back and make sure you’re not trying any funny business. You place the coins and TM down and let him take them away.

With the exchange done, Murkrow gives you a respectful nod.

“Want to stay for l-”

It caws and flies off.

“I guess not. Okay. See you around!” You wave.

You put your attention back on your pokemon. It doesn’t seem like anyone is making too much progress. Gobble is tossing himself at the tree. Mace is pulling down the grass with gravity, but it doesn’t stay down and when he relaxes it they blades just spring back up. Bella isn’t doing much to the stone with her jabs, and Dice’s tail doesn’t have enough room to wind up a powerful swing in that bamboo cluster.

As you stand back and watch, it becomes clear that they could switch jobs and complete all four tasks much quicker. But should you have them do that? They might get stronger by doing it the hard way. Of course, they might learn more about teamwork if they take care of each other’s jobs.

“Keep at it, guys! I believe in you! Don’t get discouraged if it’s hard right now, it’ll get easier!”

The team responds to that a bit and gets a little more energy in their efforts. It doesn’t last forever, though. You walk around and give pointers here and there. You have Bella attack in a quick one-two so her poison penetrates quickly into the small chips of stone. You tell Dice to move the rest of his body first so there’s a lot of momentum in his tail swing. Gobble’s is trickier, but the whole point of Body Slam is to slam onto something with your belly, so you suggest he try angling his leap to the side if he’s going to hit against the tree. Mace is hard too, but you think Mace’s problem is that he needs to just master doing it on a smaller area first and then expand after he gets that down.

Oh yeah! You open the box and take a look. Earrings! Fancy looking earrings! Wow. They look intricately carved and have two blue gems of some kind. You think they’re not expensive gems, but you’re not sure.

Everyone’s been at it for a long time. “Alright. Break time, guys.” You serve up a filling lunch with what you have available. Gobble’s been really eating a lot lately and every time you think you packed too much, he proves you wrong.

It feels like the team has made a lot of progress. You can keep training and perfect it today, or maybe you should leave it for now. You sort of want to keep going because they’re on a roll and Laki really got you pumped about it, but is there such a thing as overtraining? You might be going too soft on them, and if that happens, they won’t be prepared. Plus there’s Polu and Jane to worry about. Their talk about rivals and battling is starting to get to you a little.

“I think that’s it for now everyone. Great work! We’ll pick the rest up later.”

They all flop over. You’re glad you gave them that extra energy food, or you suspect they’d be drained a lot earlier. They’ve been working hard. Sometimes you find that you get a lot of progress on something when you step away for a bit and come back to it fresh.

You stretch, then call up Jane to see if she’d like to grab that coffee. Hopefully she trusts you enough to not accuse you of drugging hers or something. You don’t want to sound like a jerk, but on some occasions, rarely, that girl can really steam your noodles and you just want to tell her to suck a lemon!

You stop yourself from going down that line of thought. You don’t want to get bitter. You ring her up and listen for an answer.

“You.” She must have your ID programed in.

You ask if she’s free for coffee and nearby. She confirms both, then tells you to hang on for a minute. You overhear her in the pokedex. “You got lucky, Polu. I have a d-...an appointment to go to, or I’d show you what real strength is all about.”

“Guess we’re taking a rain check then. Spiritomb, sand down. We’ll battle next time.”

Is that Polu you hear? “Hi Polu!” You shout into your pokedex.

“Is that Herb?” You can barely hear him ask. “Tell him I say hi!”

“I can hear you loud and clear. How are you doing?”

“Good, bro! We got a lot of training done. I’m totally psyched to show you. What are up t-”

“Enough! Call him yourself later!” Jane snaps. “Mainlander.” She speaks to you loudly and clearly. “Meet me at the following cafe in precisely 40 minutes.” She texts you an address and landmarks to help find it. It’s a surprisingly thorough set of instructions. She sure is organized.

You gather everyone up and start heading into town. You left your other clothes you usually carry in the yacht, and are completely unprepared for a fashion emergency. You catch yourself in the reflection of a shop window. You look okay. Not great, but fine.

You’re fine. You don’t want to overthink it. For some reason you really want Jane to like you, or at least not hate you, but you don’t think dressing fancy or playing weird games where you try to look like you don’t care will do that. Even fashion can’t solve everything.

You stop into a shop where you can get a pen and paper, and clean yourself up a bit in the washroom. Nothing fancy, just not dirty from your training. You head across the street with your pokemon in tow.

“You’re early. But I knew you would be.” Jane is already there with crossed legs and sunglasses. She’s sipping on a drink, then sets it down. There’s one there waiting for you too. “It’s hot. She just put it down.”

She’s looking pretty fashionable. You think you recognize the brand of the clothes she’s wearing. That black turtleneck really compliments her figure.

Always remember to tie a girl's clothes back into her own looks. After all, complimenting her clothing too much makes it seem like that's the only good-looking thing about her.

Maybe you could get into a little tit-for-tat discussion where both of you discuss fashion? She may have studied it based on our own interest.

“Thanks for the drink.” You smile and pick it up to have a sip. Huh, this is exactly how you like your coffee. You wonder if she knew that or just had a lucky guess.

She nods and sips her coffee. She looks pleased with herself.

“Looking snazzy, by the way. That looks great on you. Aren’t you hot, though?”

“Yes, that’s what my many male suitors tell me.” She laughs at her own joke in a way that even you think sounds a little forced.

“Oh. You have a lot of guys asking you out?”

“Well. I mean...you know. Everyone tells me how well I’ve come to fit into my culture, and I suppose that and my trainer skills are why I’ve become so popular. It only stands to reason that I’d have many romantic hopefuls, doesn’t it?”

You decide not to touch that one. “Oh hey! Is that a new badge?”

“I’ve acquired it recently, but it’s actually older than you or I.”

“Neat! Any tips on the gym?” You want to hear the story on the badges too, after.

She lowers her sunglasses. You notice a bead of sweat on her brow. Coffee and this weather and that turtleneck, even if it’s sleeveless, are a lethal combination.“You haven’t researched it yet? Oh, John. You’re disappointing me. I can’t call you my rival if you don’t keep up.”

“I trained hard today.” Gobble attests to that. “But I guess overall I’ve been distracted too. Lots of running errands and keeping promises.”

“Whatever you can do to get more shards, I assume.” She subtly wipes sweat from her face.

“No. I didn’t even think about that. It’s for a fishing rod mostly.”

She raises an eyebrow. You explain about helping Hana get a Chinchou, and the fishing rod you’re working off, and the temple and the healing powers and even mention that sometimes there’s some drama with your friends without getting into details that would single anyone out. For some reason, your whole story seems to depress her until you get to the aura powers. Then she seems confused and guarded. She doesn’t say anything until you’re done, though.

“You unlocked your hidden potential for healing pokemon?” Her voice drips with skepticism.

“Yup.” You pet Bella. “Hey, do you want to go inside?”

“I...yes. I suppose if the natural climate of the islands is too much for a mainlander, I can accommodate you.” She wastes no time going inside where it’s cooler and takes off her sunglasses. Her bright blue eyes shine as they adjust to the new lighting.

“How many badges does that put you at? I really want to learn more about them. That’s why we’re here, right?”

“I should have my fourth by the next time we run into each other. But that depends on where I go next.” She coughs. “Before we get into that, this aura ability of yours...”

“What about it?”

“You’re just pulling my leg, right? I know these things exist, but they’re not just something that happens with anyone. You need a certain amount of spiritualism. Like a priestess like Keira.”

We could mention a bit of where we got it from. For example, mention the spirit quest + drinking the whole cup because we kinda felt put out about how spineless people think we are sometimes.

Maybe we could also ask what spirituality means in a place like this. We could ask Keira later, but I'd value Jane's opinion since she certainly does her research.

“I could show you, if you want.” You gesture to her the small scrape on her knee. Wow. She’s got really nice legs.

“Here? Now?” She looks around the cafe. It’s not really busy, and you’re in a corner.

“If that’s okay?”

“Let me see your hands.”

You show them to her. She feels them with her hands and looks them over to make sure you’re not doing some weird slight of hand trick or something.

“Alright.”

You place your hand on her bare knee and she sharply inhales despite herself. You close your eyes and concentrate.

Oh. Oh jeez. It’s a small injury, but combined with how hard you’ve been training, it takes a lot out of you. You’re really glad for your big breakfast now. You shake off the fatigue and open your eyes.

Jane is staring at her knee in amazement. It looks completely healed. “That was. warm. And tingly.” Her voice is less controlled than normal. She glances back to you. “You’re really not a fraud, are you? At least, with this.”

You give her a look like she just realized water is wet. But you decide not to say anything on that front. “Are you sure it feels okay?” You put your hand a little higher up where you saw another scrape.

She puts her hand on your wrist. “Just because I grabbed yours doesn’t mean you get free gropes.”

Oh right. “Sorry.” You remember her doing that in the temple. She slowly removes your hand. She’s acting normal, for her, but you get the feeling like this is really messing with her. It messes with you too, a bit.

“I just had the right vision quest at the right time. I think I got lucky. I drank the whole cup and just dove right in and things ended up okay, but they didn’t have to.”

“The whole cup?” She looks you up and down again. “I suppose that’s you, alright. Reckless and always pushing it to the limit.” She looks off. “But to think this is something you can unlock under the right conditions...” She just sort of trails off.

“Jane?”

“Hmm? Oh yes. The badges. Well. I’ll get into that in a minute. There’s a few things I want to clear up before that. First of all, it’s traditional to get a mentor a gift for taking you on. Of course, I don’t expect you to know that, or you wouldn’t be coming to me. But it’s something you should be aware of in the future when you bother other people with your ignorance.”

Good god this girl has issues.

She's so damn guarded. She has zero trust in us, or seemingly anyone. And she's either spying on us or gathering information from our friends and family.

She treats everything as a competition. Even what she's wearing is there to "beat us at our own game" of fashion. Especially fitting in to Loanah. She seems to keep implying that she belongs here more than we do. Either that's to put us down or to reassure herself that she belongs here. I assume the latter.

At some point we need to ask her directly about some of this. I suggest something along the lines of: "You keep calling me mainlander and saying that I'm tricking people into liking me. Do you... not think I belong here?" If she says we don't, she'll look like an ass, so her only option is to say we do and explain why she's saying those things. We just need to make sure we don't ask in front of other people, so that she doesn't think we're trying to make her look bad.

Interesting character, Gobble. Well done.
>>
>>1236038
I'm hoping for us to find her at a low point and when we try to comfort her she snaps at Herb and ask why we are doing this.
To which Herb has finally had enough and calls her a big dummy and that we are her friend.
>>
>>1236096
I like that idea. let's go with this
>>
>>1236096
If we have the opportunity, this is exactly the right reaction. I'm just concerned we may not get that opportunity anytime soon.

I'm glad she seems to be getting along with Polu, and that Polu seems to be bonding with Spiritomb. We don't see those guys as much, so it's good to know they're doing well.

Also, I'm pretty damn hyped for Gravity. If my intuition is correct, it'll be at least as useful as stealth rocks. Once we get pebbles and sandstorm too, Mace'll have pretty damn good arena control.
>>
>>1236038
Am i the only one that hates her fucking guts? Shes so guarded its almost a fucking parody. It's insufferable. Even when she makes her face turn to being not-a-bitch i will always hate this stupid shit tier waifu. Shes built up too much ill will with me to ever be even vaguely bearable.

As an aside, opposed rolls are shit and can wildly throw off projected difficulty and shit on strategy in our battles. And then we get berated/punished in quest for not knowing we would roll a series of 30-60s against a gobble crit avalanche. I hate them even more than i hate jane.
>>
>>1236366

>>
>>1236366
>Am i the only one that hates her fucking guts?
No.
>>
>>1236366
While I can't speak for anyone else, I find it very difficult to dislike people or characters I have any insight about. The worst parts of a person only ever seem to come from the most human of places. Take Laki for instance. She allows herself to be unambitous because her last big ambition resulted in a very public failure which hurt a lot. Jane is always ready to attack because she is always expecting to be attacked. Now, just like with Hana bad experiences don't have to make a person bitter, and just like with Keira actions can be forgiven and understood without being justified or acceptable.

Now, Herb doesn't really owe Jane anything. It would not be immoral to simply try to cut out interactions with her when they prove to be negative. But that would be easy. Compassion is hard. But damn if Herb isn't good at it. It's why I respect his character so much. Usually I just sum it up as "Herb is pure!"

I know that I'm a deeply flawed person, but I can accept that and resolve to improve. It would be bizarre to not extend that attitude towards others.

When I read Jane lashing out, my reaction isn't "she's deserves to feel hurt like she made me/Herb feel", it's "I've been angry and defensive because I was hurt. I can empathize."

I guess when I see someone being a shitty person I can't help but to see myself in that. Jane is a very vulnerable person. I can't hate that, because I've known vulnerability.

Bah, it's late.
>>
>>1236477
I've lived with shitty people who never put in a fraction of effort to be pleasant or improve their co-habitability, and Jane brings that back up for me. Might be the same for the other anon(s).

I agree with these, Call val to ask if it's ok, I want truth or dare, we should get her favourite cookie flavour and arrange another not date, maybe ask about her clothes and pokemon. Hopefully next time she lets her guard down and lets herb heal scratches further up her legs... And her heart.

Side note, anybody get the impression she's just trying really hard to show off to herb, trying to make him jealous with her suitors, fashion ability, drink choice, badges, and now trying to get him to give her a gift
>>
>>1236366
I think Gobble at one point mentioned bonuses or such for clever plans. Also unless the enemy is focusing on dodging or we roll an 8, our attacks are usually still going to hit.

>You have a gift. Here, take these earrings
>Invite her back to hang at the yacht tonight. You'll invite Polu, too. We'll have a blast
Damn I fell asleep, I hope I'm not too late for this.

As a Janefag I am saddened I missed the date, she is a sweet girl who has been nothing but hurt for a while being let down by her hero that's a while other issue her parents getting divorced and now Herb butting in when she is supposed to be rediscovering herself and her heritage. Though I'll admit she can be excessive and paranoid but if we can get through to her she can be a sweet girl my only example for this would be to see her interactions with her pokemon she doesn't spend time with anyone from the group save for battles so her mons are the ones seeing the real Jane. Also I think it's cute how competitive she gets.

Kind of worried about jane coming to the yacht, her and laki will unquestionably end up having a large very open conflict, may be jane will let her know exactly what she did, we'll understand her more, & it'll give laki a chance to face what happened...still scared though

As for people who dislike her character, that's fine, it's not even about waifuing her, it's the fact she is 1 of the more interesting characters in the story, who's seldom seen, but has a large role being rival and her history with laki which gives reason to dig into her character, & gives insight into helping laki, plus herb wants to be friends with everybody, and more lewds is never a bad thing, especially since she's just so different compared to everybody else, plus the rival component is always really fun

still undecided on waifu, i'd be excited with all apart from hana

we NEED another date or atleast more 1 on 1 with jane, maybe after the yacht if things get cleared up between her & laki, joining the group becomes an option?

Feel like Polu needs some love, don't know much about him
>>
>>1235691
>>1235713

It's to late for me to delete the post but I'd like to add in calling the yacht to ask about Jane coming, calling both Valerie and Laki.
>>
So... what are the odds our new tm is another copy of sunny day?

Speaking of which, sunny day needs to be added to gobble and Bella's move lists in the pastebin, and Mace still has "Mud Slap" and "Mud-Slap".

Do we want to teach Gobble defense curl? It'll be easy, and double rollout damage when he learns that.

Also, I'm pretty hype for gobble learning snatch. He can take his opponent's berry, eat it in front of them, then use recycle and eat it in front of them again.

The only moves gobble needs to learn before he evolves so he doesn't miss them are screech, stockpile, swallow, natural gift, and snatch.
>>
>>1238200
Then he has to relearn all the moves Snorlax get at lower levels. Also Jane could have her Fletchinder teach Gobble Natural gift.
>>
>>1235691
>You have a gift. Here, take these earrings
Gotta give her the sapphire earrings, they'll match her eyes.

We should tell her that when we give them to her. See what happens.
>>
>>1233710
>next time you say something stupid like that, I'll really let you have it
What did she mean by this?
Also I hope the date's not quite over yet, nothing cutes happened, it's just been her analysising herb

Also gobble, who's your favourite waifu other than herb?
>>
>>1240661
I want to make jane go red before the end of the day, either here or on the yacht

Since all girls have seen herbs manhood, who do you think is going to be the first to see it again( I'm rooting for hana or jane, hanas power level needs to be revealed but, Janes competitive hardon for herb is the best, then again any girl id be happy with... Has polu seen it? ) , will it be a topic of conversation with the girl talk? hopefully something publicly lewd can happen in truth or dare, that laki, kiera and polu will route on, with hana val and jane quietly loving it, and herb being the only embarrassed 1
>>
>>1240661
Basically, from what I can tell, Laki doesn't see herself as very cute or girly. So, by telling her that she's a sweet girl it doesn't gel with her self image even though she liked the compliment and was very cutely embarrassed by the comment. Laki puts up a tough front, but she's a real softy. It's probably why she still suffers from such self-doubt and is so bothered by Jane's whole attitude towards her. Worry not anon, we will make her feel even girlish in the furture, so we will see if she lives up to her threat.
>>
>>1240669
No no I got that, I'm just wondering what she'd have in mind for letting herb really have it. I love laki, she's adorable
>>
>>1240671
Some sort of penalty game, I'll let your fetishes sort out the details for you. :^)
>>
>>1240661
She's probably didn't have anything in mind, just wanted to sound tough.

My waifu #2 is Gobbs. He's a special boy.

I've been thinking about what'll happen if we invite Jane along on the boat. And what I'm worried about is what'll happen if we catch Jane really laying into Laki. I think we'll have a chance to really nut up. Tell her publicly that just because meeting your hero never goes well doesn't mean she can speak to our friends like that.
>>
>>1240678
Yeah and to suck our lemon
>>
>>1240678
a previous anon suggested calling val AND laki to make sure it's ok, I agree, but laki will probably try to pretend its not a big deal, If shit goes down (which is will), your suggestion is probably right, if nobody else butts in. Afterwards regardless it'll open up the issue for solving with both parties, although it might make things really difficult, jane would never join, and laki might leave, it's a very delicate situation
>>
>>1240679
She'll slowly start to fantasize about sucking herb's lemons

But seriously, I'm just indicisive and think it would be in-character for Herb to give well-meaning advice as such.

Herb was a real cutie when he's peeved. What other sorts of things would he use to convey anger? "That really spoils my soup." "That really unravels my sweater." "Go take a long walk off a short dock." "Go take a nap!"

I've really loved the way our cooking has been incorporated into passive buffs for the day, and I think it would be cool to plan out some ways to dress to impress too. Of course, I suppose we might need to visit home or win some prize money to do so.

But seriously, honey gather would put in more than enough work for Herb. And besides, Herb's raising a little family, not a fighting team. Herb'd love Mace even if he were a Kricketot if he had the same heart.
>>
>>1246240
God please don't put us in a male salandit situation.... Shit's rough
>>
>>1246255

>>
>>1246264
I think he means the reverse harem thing that female salandits do to male salandits via mind controlling pheromones
>>
>>1246255
It'd actually be a pretty interesting parallel to Mace. He "needs" to evolve but tries hard not to, and a salandit/combee (male) would likely want to evolve but be unable to.

>>1246270
Yeah, even if I would be cool with being bullied by a Sallazzle, it's definitely not worth it with all the anons (and turkeys) who would be uncomfortable with that.
>>
>>1246270
I don't get it. If we have a male how is that a problem? Are we going to have to get him nose plugs or something?
>>
>>1246270
No I mean, non evolving male situation. I can't handle that well, because honestly I'd just catch a female to get a salazzle.

also, repeat typings, reeee etc etc

For a fairy type, I think the Slurpuff line would be best.

Swirlix is a cotton candy puff ball and Slurpuff is a cupcake monster that supposedly has a sense of smell that is one hundred million times better than a human's, which sounds extremely useful.

Of course, this all depends on our encounter rolls and Gobble's mercy.

>>
>>1246141
>>1246145
I seriously hate these comics. Not because the abuse or anything, but it goes by game logic then he wouldn't have used the refresh's older name, and if it goes by other logic then surely the Pokemon would have attuned itself with the trainer. Overall Sylveon has shit fan art makers.
>>
>>1246346
>>1246359
To complete my just waking up post chain, I think Gligar could work. From a comp standpoint people may not like it because it is a common thing on stall teams, but doesn't actually have a good levelup movepool.

In universe they evolve into pretty efficient predators. And if we go by anime examples a pack of Gligar caught up on a strong breeze could end up becoming the menace of a big city or even a small town if they blow through.
>>
>>1246786
If we find an abused pokemon and it's a doubled type would you say, "Aw sorry buddy, but I don't double up." ?

Don't be a monster. Gym leaders are very successful trainers and all they do is use the same type of pokemon!

There must be a reason to specialize, perhaps you actually do gitgood at training one type leading to greater stat boosts?
>>
>>1247104
I mean obviously would help it. But also Keira is a grass type priestess and could take much better care of it if we use a Whimsicott example.
>>
>>1247117
Regardless we should definitely have Herb visit a Pokemon Rescue at some point. I think that could be pretty interesting and something Herb would do.

I think there is nothing wrong getting a Mon with a second type that repeats one we have. We have some of the most common types in the party.
>>
>>1247562
I just don't like having Pokemon of the same type because certain types lean to certain styles. The example I used before is how often did we use Nibbles after Oberon was caught?
>>
>>1247572
Well if we got a Fairy/Grass like Cottonee for example, as was raised above, Fairy would be important for Fighting and Dragon Matchups. This Pokemon would also be super weak to Poison where Bella is Neutral to it. Cottonee would be able to do something nobody else in the Party could do. Also great for defense for certain types because Cottonee would be immune to Dragon moves, and resist Fighting Moves which half of our party is weak to. If anything I feel like your example is a false equivalence and doesn't really apply to this situation.
>>
>>1247599
I'm also just autistic about dual types. But I do get that a Whimsicott would be different enough to be used. If we found say an abused Sunflora, then we are in a sticky situation.

Obviously I would be fine helping an abused Pokemon, but I personally just don't like having overlapping types. Also Whimsicott is shit
>>
>>1247611
We don't know if anything we adopted would even want to battle. I'd be 100% down for adopting an Unown Q who wanted to be a battle champ or a Tyranitar who wanted to learn to cook from us but hated the limelight. Any Pokemon with a good heart, Herb'll love and support.

I wonder what Hydreigon's up to?

I am reaffirming my vote for cupcake dog.

Some of the more extreme guesses say that dogs have a sense of smell that is 100,000 to 200,000 times of a human's. This pink cupcake has a sense of smell at least 500 times better than that, at one hundred million times better than a human's. Little guy could sniff out a bad apple in the middle of a forest.

It's also a good support pokemon, which we're lacking on. We just have to make sure Gobble doesn't try to eat it.

She's so cute and so fucking crazy at the same time.

>he seems lost an anxious
Only error I noticed. Very cute, Gobble. Reminder of why Jane is such a cutie. Cute!
>>
>>1253570
Line 7 needs a 'your' instead of 'you parents'; 15 needs a 'but' before 'be disarmed'; 21 probably meant 'sweetheart' instead of 'sweatheart', and 'and' instead of 'an anxious'; 51 'worked' instead of 'work out'; 83 'tearfully' would probably work better than 'tearily'; 85 probably meant 'no' instead of' not to that', and 'head-over-heels' instead of 'head-over-heals';

And that's it! Proofreader-man, away!

Thanks for the bin, it was strangely cute.
Line 39 uses "Sometimes" two times in short order.

Damnit gobble stop making me think it'd be hilarious to make Herb get together with Jane

creampies and planning how many kids they have, good lord gobble get out of my head.

Wow okay I have a lot of conflicting emotions about that.

Keira is scary as hell.
It's interesting that Jane thinks she's encouraging Laki, unless line 9 was in reference to a specific earlier instance.
We need to learn why Herb doesn't go by John.
We need to learn how Jane caught Fletchling and Dewpider.
Hitmonlee makes me feel things. Shameful, thrilling things.
I'm tempted to play our cards so Jane tries ravishing us, just so Herb can push her off and say "Not you too!"
I have to wonder how honest Jane is being with herself with this fantasy. She's got more than a rival level of investment.
She's also got that weird view of sex where whoever is cumming is losing. It's not a competition, Jesus.
This girl has issues. I almost want to date her just to know what Robin went through.

Line 5 sentence one is an incomplete sentence.
Line 39 sentence 2 uses "sometimes" twice, which sounds awkward.
Line 43 should probably mention retrieving Dewpider, otherwise they implicitly received quite the show under the water, unless I'm misunderstanding the size of a hot spring.
Line 51 should have "a" before "friendly".

Overall, Jane holds a lot of mysteries and we should go on bonding adventures with her.

Most mothers or grandmothers make jokes about a boy needed to fend girls off with a stick.

If only Herb had listened

Very nice.

So I was watching some smash brothers and I remembered how Lucario's aura gets stronger the more damaged he is. That's actually a pretty broken combo with healing aura, because the more hurt you get, the better you can heal yourself. Unless crazy diamond rules apply. But if they don't, Herb should study under a Lucario.

Sadomasochism shenanigans with a female Lucario, you say?

Jane's so lonely and scared of being hurt...

Hitmonlee will be there for her.
And you know what they say about a shoulder to cry on.

I am very conflicted about this.

I dono. I think I liked Jane a bit more before the bin. Part of it felt like she's so crazy she'd never actually love Herb it'd just be a competition to her.

Also she thought she was "encouraging Laki?"

How can she be so good with pokemon and so shit with people?

Jane is on the spectrum
>>
>>1254407
She's not, she doesn't have any symptoms of autism. It's probably better to say she's on a sociopathy scale, not completely, but it's there.

I don't think she's autistic, it's thrown around too much on 4chan

she's kinda crazy, but damn would it be fun to fuck the crazy out of her

also when's our next date with her?
>>
>>1254932
I don't think you can "fuck out" that much crazy. Or any crazy really. It's deviant and kinda hot but the emotional/sappy side of me doesn't like that the whole thing would be predicated on a lie.
>>
>>1254932
We're not even done with our first.

But for our second, I'm hoping for meditations/ mind melds. Maybe Jane will even show us her bare aura.
