A road of small black stones stuck together leads into the town, and around the town are these tall silver pillars. the strange road stretches on into the jungle than vanishes...not sure if it leads to anything. Alith, Lifa, Maya and even Galina all look like humans, but they all have a bit of their real nature peeking through. Alith's snow white hair, One of Lifa's two eyes is missing, Galina's eyes look like they're made of fire...but they're covered with sunglasses, and Maya eyes are just red. I pull my own sunglasses up to cover my eyes I walk down the road, arm in arm with Iris who is having trouble walking on "Normal" Feet.

"Ooooh what brings you to the neighboorhood" A man with a bright white suit asks, a small silver rose pinned to his chest, twisted around another one made of gold "didn't know there was any other normal folks round here? so what brings ya to our humble town"

"Oh, we just need some supplies" Iris says happily "Hard to grow food in a place like that"

She points back at the castle

I honestly hope this mystery solving arc get's everyone a little more in sync with the world around them, is not an outright level up for some of them. And watching anyone but Iris try to be subtle is going to be hilarious.

Iris glares at him, as I quickly form a spike in my hand, and drive it into the ground, pressing it into kelly's leash to keep her into place, so she doesn't try to run into the city or go after anything or anyone who wanders to close to her

"Don't hurry"She says coldly as she sits down, putting her head between her legs as I groan and cross my arms

"Oh don't be such a baby, I'll feed you soon, don't worry" I say happily as I walk inside the town, past the silver towers. They buzz as we walk past and I can feel my skin tingle as my hair stands up like someone's running their hands through it and lifting it up. The black road continues on, with two pristine sidewalks as white as polished marble line it, past the perfectly trimmed yards and plain, unpainted white houses without the usual rooftops. they're more like blocks of concrete than anything else.

"I don't like this place, it feels...fake" Lifa whines, grabbing my arm as she walks down the street with me "there's no leaves on the ground, or weeds anywhere, this isn't right"

"I don't know, it seems spartan and functional to me" Alith says, with a teasing smirk, Lifa just shudders and presses herself up against me, so I start to run my hand through her hair and pet her to try and calm her down a bit

"this place stinks of pride" Maya says under her breath, oh...so that's what I've been smelling then

"Hmm, which one of these places is a diner?" Galina grumbles as she wanders off, shaking her long, orange tinted red hair

"Galina, don't wander off like that" Iris groans, as she tries to catch up to her, and I notice a woman with thick glasses watching me from the side of the road, wearing the same pin the man was, two roses twisting around eachother, but hers is just pure gold

"Hey" I say, waving at her a she tilts her head and nods

"Hello" She says dully, like she's picking apart every piece of me, trying to find something wrong with me, like she's inspecting a piece of fish for bones

"Er, you wouldn't happen to know a place to eat around here?" I ask happily as she smiles warmly and laughs, clapping her hands together

"OH yes, there's a diner just down the street, a simple little burger hut" She says cheerfully "its not much, but its better than anything from outside, it'd be a real treat for your.....daughters"

The owner doesn't really seem to care, I smirk, guess she's just curious

Is the ground rumbling? I stop and Lifa does as well, she tilts her head and I scratch my chin. No it isn't, it isn't moving its a sound that sounds like rumbling or crackling fire....or both of them mixed together into a quite, unnatural hiss.

I blink as I stare at my feet, the sound is a buzz, like the one around the towers but...its familiar. Electricity? I look back up at the diner we're walking to, narrowing my eyes as I hear a low Thooom . And then the lights inside of it turn on, and a sign lights up outside. I glance at my other daughters, Alith is too busy staring at a passing woman to notice, she's not even trying to hide her lust. And Galina is staring up at a lightpost curiously, while poor iris tries to act like this is entirely normal. And Maya is hiding behind me, not paying any attention at all.

"Hmm" I say as Lifa glares at the building

"I don't think they used that place very often" She says calmly "or at all"

Finally caught up with tonights thread

"Do you think me and my bae are a cute couple?" I ask, hugging Iris, knocking her glasses eschew as I lay against her, I smirk as all the hopes drain out of the boy's eyes, leaving them dull and empty

"Ah, Mali" Iris says, actually sounding Embarrassed but she still hugs me back "You're so embarrassing, what am I going to do with you"

"Well I can think of several things" I say, kissing her on the cheek as the boy slumps over, looking like he's about to cry, but I'm not sure if its because of despair or joy at this point

I hold a single finger up, white fog curling around it as I twirl it through the air, yawning and patting my mouth with my other hand as the boy begins to walk away, before the white fog surrounds him. He gasps, taking his hand off his pin as he covers his mouth and holds his breath. And then he vanishes into the pure white cloud appearing next to our table, hands still covering his mouth

"Ah...ah ah" I say tapping my finger on his nose "Not so fast, the service here is already terrible, you'll be lucky if I even give you a tip at all"

He doesn't say a thing, and just stares at me in silent terror as he realizes I just achieved the "Impossible" As easy as can be. A single drop of blue tinged sweat drips down his face to his chin as I stand up, and look him dead in the eyes as he swallows, hard , glancing over his shoulder at the door. I calmly make and toss some alchemical dust at it, and turn it into salt. It crumbles away slowly, rusting right before it collapses in on itself

"But you're all supposed to be dead" He says sounding terrified "Layla Miller wiped you Ashen Cauldron loonie out in the last shadow war...that's history isn't it?"

I turn to Iris, who's covering her mouth and trying her best not to laugh as I turn back to man with a confused look

"Eh? look I just want an answer to my question friend" I say calmly, folding my hands together as Alith stands behind him, cracking her knuckles

He swallows, and puts his hands in his pockets, looking up at the ceiling like he's trying to remember a line in a play

"We are trying to progress in a time of stagnation and not refer or rely on this magic that has infected our world, we augment ourselves to better ourselves" He says, as Lifa glares daggers at him, the illusion magic fading away from her as he snorts "and hold a foothold for man kind and logic, unlike the other branches who have betrayed our ideals and invited monsters and beasts and....use this cancer upon our world for power, now I don't care what demon you have bound inside you, I've sent a distress call out and we're surrounded, on wrong move and you're all"

Iris giggles, and the boy looks at her like she's crazy, then Alith begins to Laugh and Maya grabs my hand as Galina tilts her head, utterly confused with reality.

And then I join in

"What's so funny? Magic cannot overcome a massively superior force enhanced by cybernetics" He says looking offended and worried

He actually thinks he has us out gunned, oh Layla is going to love hearing about this, hell all of the miller's are!

I will say he's not wrong for wanting to do this. It's always good to have redundancies for systems. And not just limit things to just one way.

I try my best to look scared, grabbing onto Iris as she takes her glasses off so she doesn't make them fog up with all her laughing, laying against me as the boy looks smug and crosses his arms as I mock trying to find my voice and hold my hand up for pause as he leans back, looking like he's just struck gold and grins like an idiot, looking even more unattractive than he already was.

"Well that might be" I say trying my best to sound scared as my daughters and future wife keep laughing and I just keep trying to play along "But you forget one thing, magic doesn't exactly play nice with technology"

"We've fixed that little bug" he says calmly, looking down at me

The boys grin vanishes into a hopeless smile as he smiles and sounds like he tries to claim she's lying but she cuts him off without even so much as a change in pitch

"that is not the case" She says calmly as I stand up and start stretching "See, you were right about two things, me being a witch and the ashen cauldron being dead, now I want you to guess which of my little...family here is my familiar"

He stammers and wipes his mouth, pressing his pin faster and faster as Iris laugh in the most scathing monotone I've ever heard

My wings unfurl and my milky white almost see through skin turns into a mad array of colors that demand attention. Horns rip through my skull and sit atop my rich, red hair as my purple tongue whips through the air cutting a gash through the floor as the boy stumbles back, staring up at me with a mixture of desire and pure terror.

I open my mouth, drinking in his lust as I smack the white wood haft of my spear on the ground, smirking as the tear drop shaped blade catches the light.

"I..I' He stammers as Iris stands beside me, grabbing my arm

"'m Are not my type? No shit" I chuckle as Iris lays against me and closes her eyes, and unveils her fangs and nothing else

He nods without thinking, as pink of smoke chains form around his neck and turn as black as ink.

I laugh and grin as I put my hand into his shadow, my brightly colored skin turning black as I melt into it, vanishing away

"Now follow my lead, and if you break our pact, well....it won't be nice for you" I say cheerfully as he stands back up, shaking
