After Alex had her brief reunion celebration with Asher you make your way through the abyss once more and pop out on the other side of the world.

You step out and find yourselves on the outskirts of a forest of some kind.
Not recognizing the place you inquire about it from Dante and Asher.

Nothing like desecrating the holy ground of your enemies to bring a family together.

As Dante leads you through the forest he shares some interesting information with you.
Specifically that while Asher is typically busy lecturing Yuzu about her abilities he mostly helps Tatsuki and Uryu in their training, the former because she needs a somewhat tougher training dummy to practice her attacks and the latter because his old master is no longer willing to train him.

But as he's telling you this you reach a clearing with a small river running through the middle of it.
Almost instantly you can see the kids stopping what they were busy with to greet you.

''Hey Kaizar! Long time no see!''
Tatsuki greets you.

Next to her you can see Uryu and... Ichigo?
Odd. Dante didn't mention him coming for training.

''Father Bergson!''
Yuzu shouts for Asher and runs up to him.
''Hi!''

''Hello there, pumpkin!
I see you finally brought your brother.
What gives?''

''Ichi-nii is not busy working today so he came with me!''

Dante merely raises an eyebrow at that.

Judging by Dantes expression you can already imagine him teasing Ichigo by implying he's a soul reaper because he doesn't have his own.
Or something along those lines.
But to your surprise he actually takes a deep breath and simply says this.

In the meantime you see Tatsuki going up to Asher and speaking to him.
''By the way Father.
I think you'll like this! Guess who's coming?
Chad is back!''

I haven't heard about him since for ever.

She smiles and turns Asher around.
''I think you should ask that from him, not me.''

Meanwhile Dante merely whistles and makes a remark about him.

You chuckle at that.

You can see Asher walking up to the Mexican boy and shaking his hand.

I don't think I've seen you since you came back from Soul Society.''

He nods.
''Sorry Father.
But after my loss I had to think long and hard about what you said to me.

He nods.

But as this is going on Dante seemingly gets annoyed that he's not the center of attention and goes up to Chad.
He extends his hand to him and introduces himself.

''Hey there, big guy!
Name's Dante. And I just so happen to be Ashers son.''

Chad simply stares at him in silence and shakes his hand.
''His... son?
But... You're a hollow.''

''You'll get used to it.''

At this Asher looks at his son.

And... since I heard about showing off I thought we might as well kill two birds with one stone.

You decide to just sit back and enjoy the spectacle.
After all if both of these kids want to show off then this might just be interesting.
And since it's just a friendly spar it's unlikely that things will go south.

Chad looks at Dante, obviously sizing him up.
''Very well, I'm interested in your abilities as well...''

Ichigo gives Tatsuki a nudge.
''Heh.

But Tatsuki alongside Uryu frowns at that.

You can't help but smirk at that, feeling proud of your grandson.

As the two boys walk to the center of the clearing they stop a few meters apart from each other.
Dante looks at him and speaks up.

Yasutora cracks his knuckles as he speaks.

He turns to Asher.
''Watch me closely Master!''

He clenches both of his fists and the familiar sight of his black and white arms unfolds before you.
But to your surprise they appear to be a lot more pronounced, with the black taking the appearance of a large shield merged with his hand while the white one looks much leaner with very prominent spikes growing out of it.
If you had to gauge him he is easily around lieutenant level at this moment.

Dante raises an eyebrow at this.

Chad starts concentrating his energy once more and you see the coating around his arms spreading and fusing throughout his body.

The boys entire upper body is covered in his fullbring right now.
Judging by reiatsu alone he's easily Captain level. Well... a Captain in shikai at least or a Lieutenant in bankai.
But that's reiatsu alone, you'll just have to wait and see what he can actually do.

Dante whistles in acknowledgement, but probably he only likes his appearance.
However as he's still looking forward Chad is already at his side via Bringer Light.
But paying close attention to him you see your grandsons eye actually tracking Sados movement.

Using a powerful right hook Sado punches Dante right in the face who is flung away.
Twirling around his axis Dante manages to land on his feet and wipes some blood away from his mouth.

Yasutora eases up a bit and stands casually.
''You say this as if it mattered.''

Dante caresses his cheek.
''To be perfectly honest I wanted to test something out.
I wanted to see if I can feel your punch or not.''

Using his fullbring powers Chad amps up his speed to the point where Dante has to actively turn his head around to track him.
Within moments he appears before Dante, preparing another right punch that's considerably stronger than the last.
Dante even raises up his hand to block which surprises you a lot as this is the first time you've seen him trying to defend himself.
But to everyones surprise the attack never actually connects, in a surprising twist Chad misses his punch on purpose and reveals that he was winding up a straight punch with his left hand while it was covered by the large, shield like protrusion on his right.

It's not the ''La Muerte'' but it's still considerably more powerful than anything his right hand is capable of.
His fist digs itself into Dantes chest and he is sent flying violently into several trees, all of which are broken in half upon impact.

A soft chuckle can be heard as Dante is accidentally impaled on a thick branch.
The kids look at him in horror, even Chad who didn't anticipate such a gory outcome.
But Dante defies them and dislodges the wood from his chest.

He stands upright as the additional hole in his chest closes up.
''Getting better.
I'd even say that I'm... impressed a bit.

Dante manages to surprise you again when you see him with actual passion burning in his eyes.
As he begins to charge his energy the ground and even the air around him begins to shake as his reiatsu condenses around him.
You half expected him to turn into his regular transformed state but that's not what happened.
Instead he assumed a completely new form unlike anything you've seen from him before.

With an odd metallic voice Dante speaks up.
''Now hurry up and hit me with your best shot!
I can't keep this up for long!''

After recovering from his shock Chad nods and pulls back his left hand.
As he concentrates all the energy he an muster into his palm lightning arcs out from it and manages to dig up quite large chunks of the ground as he does so.
While still charging he runs at Dante.

''La Muerte!''

By the time he swings you estimate the collected energy would be enough to knock out or outright kill a captain while in bankai.
It's honestly quite scary.
But to everyones surprise the only thing that happens when his fist connects is that a somewhat stronger gust of wind rustles the leaves of the surrounding trees around them.

Chads eyes go wide behind his fullbring as he speaks up.
''I-impossible!''

''Awwww...
Don't be so down Big Guy!
It's kinda cheap but this was made specifically to stop guys like you.''

Chad pulls back his left hand and punches with his right this time.
''EL DIRECTO!''

The stream of reishi hits Dante square in the face and it parts like the Red Sea before Moses when it does so.
From the blast your grandson reaches forward and grabs Chads shoulder and the energy stream stops.
''Cut it out.
You're just wasting energy at this point.''
Realizing how outclassed he is Chad eases up and his fullbring disappears.

At this point everyone, even you, are astonished at Dantes new technique.

As Dante and Ichigo walk closer to one another Tatsuki sneaks up behind you and starts whispering to you.

He went and got in some training.''

But before she could continue Dante puts an arm forward and signals Ichigo to come a little closer.

Tatsuki quickly changes her mind.

Basically he fought for five straight days against the meanest bastard I know.

As Ichigo walks up to Dante your grandson crosses his arms before himself.

Black reiatsu begins to flow out from Ichigo and surrounds him, wrapping around him gently like the arms of a parent around its child.
When everything settles he stands there clad in a black cloak, wielding simple black katana with a svastika on its hilt.
You almost find its appearance funny.

Dante welcomes him with open arms.

Letting out a loud shout Ichigo uses Shunpo to get in close enough to hit Dante.
His movements were so fast even you had a hard time following them.
However just as you predicted the moment he actually connected with his strike his blade simply bounced off of Dante as if it's made out of rubber.
Naturally this outcome surprised nobody.

Quickly reaching forward Dante grabs hold of Tensa Zangetsu and brings its tip to one of the yellow slits on his face.
''There. Try that.
This is where my armor is the thinnest.''

Screaming like a madman Ichigo drives his sword forward, blinded by fear.
His sword strikes the transparent, yellow segment and neatly slides off to the side.

''Look pal.
Your buddy there at least tried to go out with a bang...
This is just sad.''
Dante mocks Ichigo.

Sadly the boy doesn't take this very well and jumps away from Dante.
''OH YEAH?!
THEN LET ME SHOW YOU JUST WHAT ''BANG'' REALLY MEANS!''
He puts his arm before his face and with a downward motion summons a hollow mask on his face.
His voice seemingly echoes as he speaks.
''GETSUGA! TENSHO!''

As the roaring blast closes in on Dante you can hear him speak up in an amused tone.
''Oh that's just precious!''

He stretches out an arm as the full powered Getsuga gets closer and closer, eventually colliding with him.
It's not much of a surprise when the attack simply stops, like a car colliding with an immovable object.
With but one casual upward movement of his arm he redirects the attack to go straight up.
The black mass of reiatsu soars up into the sky until it starts dissipating after a certain point.

At this point as Ichigo is staring at his opponent in disbelief while Dante simply turns off his new armor and it literally vanishes into thin air.
''Look, I get it.
You're trying to copy hollows.
But the least you could do is do it well!
At this point it's very insulting!''

Dante points at him.

As you finish transforming you don't waste much time and raise your arm up towards the sky.
Using the times you've seen it performed as an example you try to copy Ulquiorras technique which Tia already managed to incorporate into her arsenal.
By not using any blood and focusing all the energy into a singular point the Cero begins to change in color.
Rather than the typical white interior the Cero changes to black with the typical turquoise outer glow.

Once you feel like it's sufficiently charged you shout.

The black energy is released from your hand and into the sky as a beam of pure destructive energy.
The only real difference between your attack and Ichigos is that yours reached farther because it was more controlled and went in a straight line, rather than all over the place.
Ichigos eyes go wide as he looks at it.

I'm sure you recognized the similarities.''

Much like how Byakuyas sword revolves around the flower petal motif your swords power is to literally use hollow techniques.

First is that you are still trying to deny their hollow origins despite knowing it fully, you are STILL trying to reject your own strength.
And second is your execution. You are still an amateur.
Everything you know you use it only at the most basic level...
Even that Getsuga Tensho... It has nothing unique to it other than being a really messy Cero...
I can say without exaggeration that all hollows have at least one variant of the Cero unique to them simply because the Cero is so simple it's very easy to customize.

After witnessing Ichigo turning off his bankai and then proceeding to stuff himself back into his own body he goes off and sits down under the tree that Dante coincidentally chose as his spot to take a nap.
His friends look at you with a hint of doubt.

''Is he gonna be okay?''
Tatsuki asks you.

''If he's not completely hopeless, then yes.
But enough about him.
You came here to train, right?
I don't think we can make Dante get up from there for a good while, so I'll lend a hand with that.''

After that you proceeded to help Ishida, Tatsuki and Chad with their training while Asher was busy half reassuring Yuzu that her brother is going to be alright and half educating her.
You purposefully told the kids that you don't want any of them to go all out so you don't accidentally level the entire area.
Fending off both Tatsukis and Chads assault while arrows were flying all around you was a bit tricky but at least Uryu couldn't just shower the area with them as he'd most definitely hit his friends as well.
The point of this exercise was to show the kids just how exhausting fighting could be, even when they aren't going all out.
And true enough after several minutes of consecutive fighting they find themselves a bit short on stamina and completely drained mentally.

You wipe some sweat off of your forehead and signal the kids to stop.
''Okay. That's enough!''
Almost immediately they fall to their knees absolutely fatigued.
''You see? Being constantly aware of your surroundings, your enemy AND your comrades isn't so easy.
If you honestly want to fight side by side then you have to know each others movements like the back of your hands!
Now get some rest, you've earned it.''

As you reach into your pocket and retrieve an energy bar you see the exhausted humans slowly making their way to the spring in order to refresh themselves.
Around the same time you also catch a glimpse of Asher finally finishing up with Yuzu.
What's interesting to note here is that while Yuzu is off to her brother Asher goes to Dante and is swiftly followed by Alex.
And for the first time in what seems like for ever you see their little, weird family finally gathering together and enjoying themselves like most regular families do.

I'm a bit disappointed that Inoue isn't here, I really want her to be useful in some way.

As you keep munching on your little snack you see Uryu and Chad trying to discreetly plan something while in plain sight after they are finished cooling their heads off by putting it under the spring.
And only moments afterwards you see them approaching Harribel of all people.
Your best bet is that they must have been impressed by your earlier praise of her or they are just curious about her or you in general and decided it's a safer bet to ask her about stuff.

That left you standing out on the sun feeling slightly awkward.
Luckily for you it looks like Tatsuki has something on her mind.

Afterwards you just sat quietly with Harribel by your side, watching Tatsuki go through with her decision.
Sadly all you got to see was her asking Dante if he had a minute to talk in private and they went off somewhere.
Only once all of it was done did you hear about what happened and that they agreed to have a date at some point.

And this is as far as I can go.

To me that was the squad.

Before my assignment I barely even knew them.
But there, you quickly forged friendships with those who shared in your misery.
And I believed that as long as all of us survive everything is going to be okay...

Of course that didn't last long...
Aiko-sans sister was taken by Him...
And seeing what that did to her, how it broke her was a wake up call: ''Nothing is going to be okay''

As for Chisato... No...
I believe it to be a bad idea to pursue a relationship with others within your own division.

But I do think her to be a wonderful person.
She's loyal, friendly and very charming.
Easily the best Shinigami I know.
That's why I asked her to switch divisions after I became a Captain.

Omake: The one about Best Cat

It was a relatively simple task: Get in, get out.
The only difficult part of the operation was Kenpachis protest but even that didn't slow you down that much.
After throwing him through the Garganta and into the Soul Society you dusted off your hands and took a turn right back into the abyss.

During the couple of minutes that you spent walking you wondered what you should do now that you've tidied up.
And then it hit you: The work is not done yet.
Forcefully you slam your palm into your face and let out a loud groan.
''Ohhhh I forgot about that damned cat...''
The loud ''Fuck'' you let out echoed through the vast emptiness with the annoyance of a thousand whiny teenagers.

Thankfully the walk back home wasn't too long and as luck would have it you popped out relatively close to Neliels home.
So with very little enthusiasm you made your way to where you suspect Yoruichi wound up at night.
But when you reached the door you hesitated to enter for a second.

With a sigh you gathered your courage and knock on the door.
To your surprise it's almost immediately opened up by Pesche.
''Oh Kaizar! what a fine day for a visit, wouldn't you agree?''

''Hello Pesche.
I came for your ''guest''...''

''But of course! Come in, come in!''
Pesche then almost violently nudges you inside before forming a cone from his hands and shouting.

Neliel rushes down the stairs, practically skipping downwards.
If it was anyone else you'd have expected them to look a bit dishevels so early in the morning but not Nel.
She always starts her day early and is what you might consider a morning person.

As she skips the last about 3 stairs she hops down and lands on her feet a few steps before you.

I, of course, volunteered to be his first test subject.''

''I was young and a bit too bold perhaps.
Well as you can see it didn't work as intended it was a success on some level.
And while I didn't receive anything Kisuke promised I became capable of becoming a cat, which had all kinds of uses.''

''Like?''

''Moving around in plain sight with everyone ignoring you is the obvious one.
I could also get in places nobody else could dream of.
For an assassin like myself it offered numerous uses...''

''So... you were an assassin?''

''And a damn good one.
But perhaps Spy is a more accurate term.
I was the Captain of the 2nd Division which is directly tied to the Onmitsukido, the Stealth corps.
Being able to turn into a cat served me well and I wouldn't give it up for anything.
Besides, I've grown used to it.''

Then she turns back to Neliel and bows a little with her small, cat head.

Nel is a bit taken back by that.
''N-no problem.
Please do come anytime you feel like!
No! Wait! I didn't mean to say it like that I-''

''Don't worry, I think I got it! Heh!

''Oh and thank you for that wonderful breakfast as well!
Lord knows when was the last time I actually had fresh goat milk but it was like a breath of fresh air!''

And in that instance you could hear the sound of ceramic shattering from two very distinct sources.
Firstly in your mind as a part of your psyche just flat out committed suicide upon hearing these words strung together and lastly from the kitchen where Pesche was busy cleaning plates up until now and he randomly just broke one in half.
You look at him with questioning eyes that basically say: You knew?!

And he simply breaks down and reaches for the cleaning solution which he quickly starts rubbing in his eyes.
''AH! THE PAIN! IT BURNS!
BUT I CAN STILL SEE IT!
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!''
In his fit of anguish he reaches for the sword on his person and raises the blade to his throat.
Recognizing this you swiftly kick the weapon out of his hand and knock him unconscious with a quick blow to the head.

Meanwhile Yoruichi just looks at you in dumb confusion.
''W-what???''
Looking at her with the fear of death in your eyes you take a deep breath and speak up.

Fifteen minutes later:

As you walk along the Garganta you carry Yoruichi tucked under your armpit.
She remains motionless and limp as a gutted fish, only letting out faint groaning noises.
The way she doesn't move around makes it look like you're carrying a rather loud purse covered in black fur.

You sigh as Yoruichi lets out another pained groan.
''You know... You asked for this...''

''I... most... certainly... did... not...''

''But I hope you realize she meant well...''

*sigh*
''Yeah...
Thanks for carrying me home Kaizar...''

''No problem.''

Not too much afterwards you open up the Garganta right before Uraharas shop and Yoruichi speaks up again.
''Just... just put me down under the sun...''

You put your arm under her belly and lay her down on her side just next to the candy shops entrance.
After you leave the door opens and Kisuke pops his head out.

''Yoruichi-san!
Welcome baaaaaaaaaa-
Is everything okay?''

''No...''

''Do you... need anything?''

''No...''

He looks at the motionless cat and starts shouting back into the building.
''JINTA, URURU!
