PS: should QM migrate to another forum can someone be sure to plug the whole list of outlets he's using (twitter acct, archives, new forum, ect.) before archive? It's hard not knowing what's happening for a lurker and I can't believe I'm all alone.

> AND WE'RE FUCKING BACK IN BUSINESS NIGGERS

> Paralytic Quill casters and grenades.

The warriors begin cracking open the carrying cases and distributing the contents. Each warrior is given four of the stonelike paralysis grenades and a Quill caster. The needles at the end of the casters are coated with a oily glaze of the Deadlimb stalk. The drones are given a pair of the paralysis grenades and a bulb of the resin sealant used to rapidly seal wounds.

Twitch leaps onto your back as you grip a pair of warriors in your claws. Your gargoyles each grab a drone and laboriously follow you into the sky.

> 14!! Average success

Your first Gargoyle swoops down toward a large building near the outskirts of the town. The bright neon signs and guard at the door suggest it is a faction headquarters for the the smugglers. Your gargoyle comes in silently over the rusted, patched rooftop and drops his drone off silently, landing beside it they both crouch down and await orders.

> 1 Critical failure

Your second Gargoyle angles toward a large, multistory structure that seems to house a small number of human females, with smugglers entering and leaving on a regular basis. The gargoyle begins his approach dive only for a burst of white light to illuminate them from above

> Smuggler interceptor has spotted Gargoyle.

The Flying machine steadily gains on the Gargoyle, his wings flapping desperately as he attempts to evade the flier. In a final attempt to drop weight he drops the drone from a higher altitude than neccessary. The unfortunate drone impacts the side of the building and barely manages to cling to the side with a shattered forelimb.

The gargoyle attempts to land but a burst of high calibre shells shred his wings and rip apart his carapace. He spirals lifeless to the ground.

> 1 drone has been moderately wounded. Gargoyle has been killed.

> 21!!! EXTRA CRITICAL SUCCESS!!

You watch your young flightmates demise with sorrow and shame in your heart. You will rip that abomimation from the sky. But first...
You approach the saloon from on high, your wings tucked close but slowing the descent enough that your pair of warriors and Twitch land on the roof without a single sound. You take to the air and rapidly gain altitude, seeking to gain an advantage over the interceptor.

The human flying machine slowly hovers over the fallen Gargoyle, the human inside probably trying to figure out what the hell he had just shot from the sky. He never even sees the nightmarish figure streaking from the sky towards him.

You impact the cockpit like a comet, the reinforced glass and steel folding in on itself. The aircraft sags under your weight as you lever three of your forelimbs under the rim of the cockpit. With the rending sound of metal you tear it free, exposing the terrified pilot.

The human desperately fires several shots from a small pistol, the rounds glancing from your armor without effect. He only has time for a terrified scream before your claws descend and shred his body to a gory pulp. You leap free from the Interceptor as it begins to coast downward towards the Outpost.

> FULL ATTACK

The commando teams spring into action, the drones smashing through windows and flinging their paralytic grenades into groups of surprised and sleeping humans, the fine dust saturating the inside of each building before the drones make a hasty retreat toward the main armory.

Twitch's team smashes through the roof of the saloon, the warriors unleashing a hail of quills as they fall. The toxin-tipped darts burying deep into limbs and torsos. The smugglers that are struck by the darts rapidly collapse to the floor, their bodies now inescapable prisons. The close quarters prevents the use of the grenades and a large group of the humans manage to flee or form ramshackle barricades from tables and furniture. A barrage of small arns fire forces Twitch's team to take cover, the initiative lost.

> Meanwhile

Ox drops to all fours, his massive limbs propelling him down the slope at a full gallop, Pyro riding atop his back firing his flame caster into the air. The remaining reinforcements follow in a chitinous tide of inky black shells. A small group of smugglers on patrol take cover among the scrap and debris of the Outposts outskirts, opening fire at the approaching Xenomorphs.

> Starscream
As >>1141062 stated, Twitch is more than capable of stealth-shenanigans, but he isn't nearly as proficient in open combat (even with those nifty Baraka-style blades).

Starscream can stun the hunkered down humans with his screech (which has proven to be even more effective for the flyers than bombs). The same goes for the other Gargoyle, who should move to back up Ox, Pyro and the other Warriors.

Once the immediate problem areas are dealt with, Starscream can drop acid bombs unto the roofs of the armories, and our drones can toss in more paralysis grenades.

>>1141014
You should see some of Giger's original ideas for the Aliens. They were even creepier than these, and we're moving away from Xenos to basically become Tyranids.
>>
>>1141191
Oooooh no you don't, you hairy little wombat.
>>
> You are Starscream

You rapidly gain altitude, swooping along a rooftop and snatching a pair of humans from their firing position. You drop them at an opportune moment to impact a wall, the crunch of shattering bone clearly audible. As you return to the sky you take a moment to observe the raid. Many humans are already subdued, either paralyzed or crushed and broken by Ox and Pyro. The Juggernauts tear through fortifacations and buildings to expose cowering humans, bullets sparking from their armor to no effect. As you watch Ox lifts a human high only to sling him forward in a blurring arc that ends in a red smear nearly 100 yards away.

The reinforcement wave runs amok among the outpost. Valiant defenses and cowardly retreat are both futile and subdued by the might of the Hive.

You see a group of Humans making their way to the parked interceptors and shuttles, hopinh to make an escape or even the battlefield

A mental alert from Twitch alerts you that his squad is still pinned down and unable to break free.

Eh, we have another Gargoyle, so they can perform a screech and stun the humans. That'll give Twitch his window of opportunity.

Meanwhile, Starscream can make the spirit of Tiny proud with RIP AND TEAR.
>>
> 15!! Good success!!
> DID SOMEONE SAY AIRSUPPORT?!

You quickly distribute mental orders, several drones and warriors rush to intercept the pilots while you take to the sky, orienting yourself over the saloon. You tuck your wings close and spiral downwards, faster and faster as you finally spread your wings just as you enter the gapinh hole in the roof. The smugglers attempt to redirect their fire as you rear your head back and /screech/. On the nearest humans the effect is instant.. and fatal. They collapse to their sides, blood dripping from their eyes and ears. Other humans scream in pain and cover their ears as windows and glasses alike shatter.

Twitch and his team rapidly sieze the initiative, subduing any downed humans and mauling any that still resist. A human from the upper floor fires a small rifle at you and you snarl in contempt as you turn and bisect his body with a swipe from your tail.

> Saloon has been neutralized. 18 humans subdued. 14 dead.

> 19!! EXCELLENT SUCCESS!!
> Do NOT let them get airborne

The smuggler pilots race for their ships, trying to reach some measure of safety. They are so engrossed in whats ahead of them they never lool at the chitinous figures racing along the rooftops to cut them off. Just as they reach the landing pad the trap is sprung. Warriors leap from the rooftops, firing quills as they go. The humans attempt to backtrack only to be met by hissing drones. Screams ring out only to end in wet gurgles and ripping flesh.

> Pilots Subdued. No aircraft were launched. 4 humans captured, 8 dead.

> Twitch, Starscream, and a few Warriors or Drones capture more eagles.

> Dino-Turtle-hiss and Zoanthrope-chan are born!

I was thinking the psyker Xeno might be a heavily mutated/defective Warrior strain, and that once he's molted/we've figured out his mutation, we can have an elite squad of Psychic Warriors. Not nearly as powerful as the Zoanthrope or Tiny, but with a healthy mix of their skills and abilities.
>>
Work on pool or knowledge capture more eagles
>>
>>1141607
The Reaver is actually a Unique Mutation. Tiny was one of a kind, similar to Ox's Destroyer mutation and Starscream's Fury mutation. Warriors can become Praetorians or Soldiers or A custom class you guys suggest.
>>
>>1141607
And the Pool of Knowledge is actually already complete.
>>
We'll need to open up access to the Underground Pools or find an easy access to a local river. Turtle-chan is going to be very slow and clumsy on solid ground. Better we find him a place to hunt and roam.

Also, I'm thinking he'll be somewhere between Tiny's and Pyro's size. A broad, thick torso covered in heavy plates that form a dense suit of armor, a powerful tail for propelling him through the water. Mighty crushing jaws, heavy claws for digging through mud and stone, and keen sense for perceiving prey and foes through the water.

>>1141656
Sweeeeet.
>>
>>1141652
>Custom classes.
How wild can we go, and how much time do we get to be creative?
>>
>>1141652
I'm thinking that the Soldiers can be set up as either melee-specialists or ranged troopers. The Praetorians will be trained personally by Tiny, Twitch, Ox, and eventually the psychic.

But the idea I had for psychic warriors, a Vanguard, can act as Captains and Lieutenants to our generals (Twitch, Tiny, Ox, Psychic).
>>
>>1141695
If its too wild, ill tell you. And you can suggest them whenever :)
>>
We should also make sure to send our boys on another ranch raid. Keep our herd healthy and productive, otherwise we won't have enough food to support our Hive.

And we should, at the very least, complete the Egg Chamber and Throne Room tonight. Can't be leaving them for last.

I'd think the 'Wendigo' would be a Hunter/Shadow sub-type that specialized in Psychological Warfare and extremely cold environments.

That sounds more like a 'Broodlord' strain, which might be a subset of the Hive Architect. It has all the skills necessary to build and start a new Hive, but isn't necessarily a Queen.

The Evocatus' armor rating is x1.5 (22.5) when struck once with explosives, x1.25 (18.75) when struck twice. The Evocatus is slower than a standard warrior until struck three times, at which point it's reactive shell will slough away.
+Superhigh Musculoskeletal tension
The Evocatus' muscles are supercharged when it reaches 5 health, allowing it to exceed the strength of a normal warrior, if killed during this time it's muscles rupture explosively, hurling acid and chunks of hard carapace at lethal speeds. This explosion can harm both enemies and friends.

-Slow
-Reckless
-Cannot into stealth

Weapon:
Monomolecular Blades- In place of standard hands the Evocatus grows a pair of six foot long reenforced chitinous blades which cut through flesh, bone, and body armor with equal ease.

Wendigo- Splinter cell class
8 feet tall, 12 feet long

+Carrier (can carry 2 facehuggers to be used as combat projectiles or for infiltration)
+Stealthy
+Terrifying
-cowardly
-frail (weak compared to humans, spindly limbs require an escort)
>>
>>1142049
The reactive armor seems a little Op. Possibly a layered armor system with a higher overall value in exchange for decreased movement speed. and 6 foot blades In place of both hands? Is 1 3 foot blade replacing a forelimb good? And I can work the Muskuloskeletal tension in as a "Kamikaze" mutation on which they WILL die but they will do ridiculous damage before and when they do. Fair?

> You are Starscream!

You circle the devastated smuggler camp, taking in the Hive's glory. Drones and warriors are shuttling humans, living and dead, back to the hive. The wounded of the raid have been sent back to be treated in the Nest of healing. You see Ox and Twitch, far below, enjoying a messy meal of several humans. The hive will grow strong from this. You can feel it...

> Begin Resurrection of Tiny (Y/N)
Is this even a question? RISE, CHAMPION OF THE HIVE!

> Have Starscream Search for more Ranches/colonies (Y/N)
Definitely. Need to keep expanding that herd. By the way, how long has it actually been since the cows gave birth? We haven't really been keeping track of the time or seasons, so having a sort-of timer that counts the months or years as they pass would be good. I'd say its only been about half a year since the Hive came to be in-quest.

> Mutate someone (warriors, Drones or named character, (Y/N)
We need at least a pair of Praetorians for Grimalkin. Might name them Castor and Pollux. The rest would be Soldiers, the core of our future armies. Then we have Turtle-chan and Psyker-chan!

> Rush Egg production (Y, N)
Yes. With the population boom, we can send more Xenos out on exploratory missions, hunting trips, and raids.

>>1142326
This is also true. Gotta get some more Hunters and Shadows. Twitch will be the master of the ninja Xenos.
>>
> Arise Fallen champion!

Deep inside the Hive, Bob stands above a roiling pool. Bioluminscent flashes appear in its depths as he manipulates the delicate tendrils that coil in its depths. At a mental command a pair of Warriors carry in the corpse of Tiny. The fallen Reaver is mighty, even in death, his armor rent and cracked and his flesh pierced in a hundred places.

At your signal they gently deposit him into the pool, where he rapidly sinks below the surface. You enter a trance of concentration and banish the warriors from your presence. This is delicate work...

> Send Starscream to Search for more settlements

Starscream and his surviving gargoyle arc away into the heavens, searching in ever widening grids for any human habitation. It will be a while before they return, but they will not fail the hive...

> Send Twitch, Ox and some drones to catch more eagles.

Twitch rides atop his ever faithful enforcer as they lead a small hunting party towards the mountains. The drones are armed with the paralytic quill throwers and will take the main brunt of the work. They hope to be back in short order...

> Ok, mutation time. We have Pyro, the builder, 23 drones, 15 warriors, 7 heavy drones. How are we doing this? Weve got enough food to gorge 5 units to mutation.
>>

10 drones into the hunters path half into runners and the other half into hunters proper
5 into the builder path that way Bob and the builder can use them to create stuff in other areas such as the mine and the smuggler's nest.
5 drones into warriors
Last 3 will keep the cow herd for now.

5 warriors turns into praetorians
The 7 heavy drones will mutate into heavy warriors once the praetorians are up.

>>1143430
>>
>>1143424
Pyro needs to Pyromaniac mutation, if he doesn't already have it, as well as heavier armor. A set of Bio-Rockets mounted on his back might also be good.

Need at least a pair of Praetorians. Our Queen must be holy and unassailable. We cannot and will not allow any lesser species enter her presence without her will.

At least a dozen of our Warriors can become Soldiers. A full compliment of experienced, blooded, deadly Xenos dedicated to the art of war and the defense of the Hive.

At least four or five more Builders, as Bob will need the competent assistants in his projects. The previous Builder can become our next Hive Architect, as Bob will need someone to bounce ideas off of and to correct him should he need it.

Then, we get into our fallen Reaver. He should get Active Regeneration, to repair the wounds he takes in battle. But, also, a penalty from Aching Scars, which'll make it harder for him to focus without some form of pain medication or a soothing influence (which could be something that the possible Psyker Xeno learns to do).

Turtle-chan, of course, is going to be an aquatic tank. But I wonder if we could give him some form of bio-electric attack, like an electric eels? Would make capturing prey and hosts in the water much easier for him, since he probably isn't going to be built for fast pursuit.
>>
>>1143424
>Y
>equal everything
>>
>>1143467
Since this is the most concise reply ill go with this one. One drone shall become a Wendigo.
>>
>>1143551
Oh, y'know what would make a good side-arm for Pyro? A Pod Launcher, for throwing explosive grenades where his Flame Caster can't reach. We could also give him a Crushing Tail-Blade like Ox, just so he has something for close combat.

As for Turtle-chan, a Harpoon Tongue mutation would make catching prey a breeze. Combining that with the Shock Pulse, it would make his tongue into a stun gun.

Twitch and Ox are just bird-catching, and Bob is elbow deep in reviving our favorite human-slayer. Starscream is the only one that can really do or see anything interesting.

Bunker will need access to water, which we won't have until Bob is finished and the tunnels to the underground aquifers are complete.

Same idea as before. Get a layout of the colony and the major objectives, then return to Hive with news of our success.

This will throw our original plans into disarray, however. We'll have to continue growing our Hive in secret, and only capture and raid the outlying steadings. We can't allow any evidence of our presence to be discovered.

Maybe we should send Ox and Pyro to utterly destroy the mining camp, just to make sure there's no trail leading back to us.

Gotta boost our population. Some of the new Warriors and Drones can be sent off later to the splinter hive, but for now they'll be staying here.

> Create more Shadows, Gargoyles, and Warriors. Five more Heavy Warriors as well, if possible. Discover the mutant psychic!
I really want to see how successful a Xeno with powers of mind-fuckery will be.

> Create Custom Weapon: Shock Tongue
A modified Barbed Harpoon that can fit into the mouth and throat of a Xeno. Delivers a current of electricity that can incapacitate or kill.

> Create Custom Weapon: Thunder Ball
A flanged mace head designed to attach to a Heavy Warriors tail, the Thunder Ball can discharge high voltage currents upon impact.

> Create Custom Weapon: Howler Balloon
A highly flexible air sac which attaches to the throat, the acoustic chamber amplifies the sound of a Xenos voice almost three times over. Transforms a shriek capable of rupturing eardrums into a howl or roar that can physically push over objects and crack masonry. Warning; can potentially stun other Xenos if not used carefully.

> Create Custom Weapon: Paralyzing Whip
Designed to replace the blade on a Xenos tail (specifically with Shadows and Hunters in mind), the Whip is prehensile and adds a great deal of length. It is covered in tiny barbs covered in paralytic venom which go into effect immediately upon contact with non-Xeno flesh.

> Create Custom Weapon: Venomous Fangs
Simply put, this gives Shadows and Hunters a pair of retractable fangs which deliver a potent venom that can incapacitate humans as well as large-sized prey. Does not work well on creatures which have their own venom.

> Do not deploy the Wendigo and Drones yet.
I would actually hold off on this until we dig a tunnel that will reach under the Lake Colony. Don't want our brand new colony to be discovered.

When we /do/ send them off, however, I would send them with a Heavy Drone, a Builder, and six Warriors as well. They'll need the manpower to build quickly and quietly, and the Warriors can hunt at night to keep the splinter hive supplied.

If Wendigo-Chan and others are really into building a second Hive, I would actually do it under the Eastern Hunting Grounds, as there is ample food available for them and less chance of discovery. If it seems really good there, we may or may not decide to move the main Hive. We'd still have access to the herd and all of the rooms we've already built.

> Switch to TINY!!!
We must have vengeance against the damned Skitterlings, and now we have the forces to do so.

Of course, we're sending Ox, Twitch, and Pyro along with him as well, and a contingent of Soldiers and Warriors armed the same way they were before, with Lightning Claws, Quill Launchers and Casters, and grenades.

>>1146997

You near the entrance to the Deep Tunnels where your assault force is gathered. You growl appreciatively at your new Soldiers. They stand tall and proud, their chitin thick and strong, extending into razors points at joints and junctions. Their heads are adorned with small crests that protect their vulnerable necks.

Four of them are equipped with Quill casters, ready to release a storm of needles at the foul insects. The other four are armed with large lightning claws, the hooked talons quivering with energy. Each soldier is Equipped also with a pair of incendiary and acidic bulbs. They each also carry one of the dangerous Quillburst grenades for crowd control.

Clustered behind them are a group of 10 drones, ready to support the assault troops. Each drone carries a collection of resin cases, filled with healing balms and resin sealants. They carry four grenades of each kind also, ready to resupply the Soldiers.

Pyro rises from the floor, bowing low to you. The hives fire specialist is truly intimidating, even to you. His armor is thick and heavy, overlapping plates of impenetrable protection. Several Skitterling workers attempt to scatter only to be crushed underfoot or scooped up and eaten by Ox. One of the Soldiers near you throws a small resin bulb into the swarm. With a whoosh and the stench of burning chitin a massive fireball bursts out, further stalling the swarm. The other soldiers throw their own grenades, acid splashes and bursts of flame decimating the enemy ranks.

Pyro steps forward as the Skitterlings attempt to break through the blockade. The massive xeno hunkers forward and his biorockets slide into position. The Skitterlings barely have time to scuttle forward before a trio of rockets from each pod flies forth.

The rapid explosions and bursts of flame shake dust from the celing and leaves the tunnel a rubbel strewn slaughterhouse. Chunks of chitin smoke lightly on the tunnel floor as you step forward. The second wave of Skitterlings has entirely ceased to exist. The path to their Queen is clear for now.

> 17+2=19!! EXCELLENT SUCCESS!!!
> Bring the HEAT

Refusing to allow the Skitterlings a chance to regroup you lead your troops forward into the depths of the Skitterling hive.

As you progress deeper into the hive you order your troops to stay close. Occasional skitterlings burst forth from the side tunnels but are quickly crushed and left as ruined, twitching corpses.

Pyro lumbers close behind you, his flame caster primed and ready to support you. Behind him Ox rumbles along, a pair of Soldiers hanging from his sides, their Quill casters covering the rear and sides of your formation.

Ahead of you the tunnel widens and a bioluminescent glow brightens as you approach. You gather your troops close and enter the main chamber slowly, signaling a halt as you take in the sight before you..

A literal sea of warriors mill in a semicircle around your formation. Hundreds upon hundreds the massive insects scuttle along the floor and walls between you and... something. A massive, pale, soft creature coils along a wall on a mound of waste and fungus. A endless tide of workers carry food to its massive, pale head and eggs of varying sizes from its rear. The massive insect regards you nervously as it chews several hundred pounds of food...

This queen will serve the hive with her young. All you need to do is slaughter these pesky warriors. Your troops form into a semicircle at the tunnel mouth, Ox and Twitch on one side with pyro on the other. The Soldiers form up with the Shock troopers at the front and Quill casters backing them up. The drones rapidly distribute more grenades and prepare to fill any breaches.

One brave skitterling warriors takes a tentative step forward and you snap a shot off into a cluster of its eyes. The resulting explosions splits Its head In half and the horde charges your assault force.

Kill them all. Your troops open fire as the Insects charge forward, the first ranks tumbling Into twitching masses studded with razor barbs. Incendiary grenades burst In their ranks, Incinerating clumps of the foul creatures.

Ox and Twitch work in tandem as always, Ox crushing swathes of the charging insects while Twitch darts around him, slashing the Skitterlings to peices.

Pyro unleashes his flame caster and releases a cone of flame that Immolates everything In his path.
The shock troopers meet their foe with broad slashes from their claws, rending their shells with smoking gashes.

Yet there are too many. The skitterlings pile over each other in their hatred and desire to kill your group. A soldier falls backward, his chest rent open, a drone drags him to safety and begins tending his wounds while another takes the Soldiers place in the line. Another Soldier screches in pain as a razor tipped leg pierces his side yet he stands strong and holds the line.

Several skitterlings drop from the ceiling among the drones and lash out wildly. Several drones screech as their bodies are pierced and pummeled but they manage to fight back.

Enough of this. You spin, your tail blades slashing through a clump of the insect. With rapid fire orders the drones pull back and guard the tunnel mouth with the wounded Soldiers while the rest of your team pushes forward.

Ox and Pyro close together and rip into the charging Skitterlings like an armored fist. You follow close behind with Twitch and the Soldiers, slashing away any Skitterlings that manage to get close.

Hordes of Skitterlings mill around your group as you get closer and closer to their Queen. The colossal creature thrashes and spits as its urges its warriors to kill you all. To no avail.

Ox and Pyro turn as a unit and clear a path to the Queen and you LEAP. With a wet squelch your claws sink into the Queens soft, soggy flesh, rapidly pulling yourself to her head. The Queen thrashes as you jab your tail blades into her flesh, anchoring yourself deeply while you ready your spike launcher. Pressing it to the base of her head you screech in triumph.

The Skitterling warriors freeze and several attempt to take steps forward but you twist the blades and the queen shudders in pain and helpless fury. You snap a quick shot and kill two warriors before pressing the weapon back to her head. You hiss impatiently. You arent going to kill them all. You dont have that kind of time.

With a agonized squeal the Skitterling Queen sags to the floor of the cavern and the skitterling warriors rapidly turn on one another. The "royal chamber rapidly devolves into a massive battlefield as you hiss happily.

Within minutes the Skitterling horde has been reduced to twitching corpses and piles of shattered shells. You have avenged your death and captured a great gift for your Queen!

> Skitterling Hive Dominated! Under the watchful eye of your drones the eggss shall be sorted as they are laid. Workers shall live to serve and warrior's will be food as grubs.

You snag one and tear into its soft, fatty flesh. A excleent food source for the hive.

> 20!!! Critical success!!!

You idly pick up a Skitterling drone as it scurries by. With the Queen subjugated they are completely docile and extremely helpful little beasts. With the right "modifications" they could be a wonderfull addition to the hives military.

You request a sample of royal jelly from Grimalkin along with several dozen of the Worker grubs. Both requests are delivered within minutes.

You lift one of the Squirming, fat grubs and dip it into the thick, lightly bioluminescent slime. Instantly the liquid permeates the grubs body and It stiffens as you feel a tiny, confused presence enter the hivemind. You set the Grub Into a small holding pen full of various food scraps and move onto the next one...

> Hours later

A group of milling, young Workers claw their way free of their cocoons. The royal jelly seems to have accelerated their growth and increased their size. The workers are still quite small, only a foot or so long, with rounded bodies. Their shell is a deep, dark green streaked with black.

You beckon one to a workstation and it instantly complies, scuttling quickly to you and sitting completely still. You press its tiny mind into a deep sleep and begin the experiments.

You excise away a large chunk of the shell on its back. In its place you graft a small receptacle and link the controls to its own tiny brain. You take a large Acid bulb and slot it into the receptacle, then command the worker to wake.

The insect bolts up rapidy, and at a signal from you, scurries to a corner and seals itself to the wall. A second signal sends a twitch through its body and the acidic bulb rapidly and violently bursts, spraying the caustic fluid in a wide arc.

Success! You beckon forth another worker, you have work to do...

I was thinking along the lines of the brain bug from star ship troopers. A xeno runner with stunted limbs and a swollen brain case needs the help of other xenoes to move until it evolves more telikinetic powers. Its secondairy mouth lets it eat brains to gain knowledge. Begining stages can invade dreams and plant sugestions. Further evolutions allow telekinesis pirokineses and mind control
>>
>>1153351
Pic related became a named Nid character by eating an entire World-Ship of Eldar and its Infinity Core (which is basically just more souls and magic crystals).

But that would be kinda OP at this junction, so maybe he's the result of Bob's inevitable experiments on the Hive's Warriors and Soldiers, starting out small and frail but with tremendous psychic powers, and 'Soul-Eater' is his final form.

You stiffen as Grimalkin alerts you to a situation in the egg chamber as the new additions hatch. You drop your project and hurry to comply. She would not ask you if it wasnt serious.

You rush into the egg chamber and immediately see a drone twitching on the floor near a small, weakly moving chestburster. It seems to have barely had the strength to leave its host.

Oh well. Failed hatchlings happen, you need to find out what happened to this drone and then you can put that poor thing out of its-

> NO.

The chestburster stiffens and regards you with almost palpable fury. A actual physical wave of force pushes you back a step while lines of pain arc through your nerves. The hatchlings presence in the hivemind is... enormous. Dwarfed only by Grimalkin herself. The mental power commanded by this tiny creature is beyond formidable.

Grimalkin enters your mind directly, freeing you from the hatchlings grip and orders you to preserve it at all costs. Its abilities have the potential to be unlimited.

You kneel carefully and pick up the small, damp creature. It radiates a sense of ravenous hunger that overshadows your own mind before Grimalkin bolsters you once again. You hurry toward the Shaping chamber, calling your assistant to your side as you go.

You rapidlt construct a series of feeding tubes and a sterile containment pod for the tiny creature. It happily slurps the nutrient rich paste and its belly quickly fills. As the unique xenomorph falls into a exhausted sleep you do a quick inspection.

The base of its head and back are corded with large lumps of... brain tissue? You shake your head and probe further. Most of its muscles and several organs are replaced instead by clumps of nervous tisssue and brain matter. Its body is weak but it seema capable of mental abilities that stretch even your devious imagination...

We should stay slow and cautious though. So long as we hold the advantage of surprise, we can win. Keep scouting the planet to find new hunting grounds, new potential hosts, and find any more hidden human outposts.

Let's take our time. There's too much at stake to rush in blindly.

In an isolated mine a human miner suddenly pierces a wall and falls through. The man stands up, dusting his knees off as he radios to his coworkers.

"Hey? Hey guys? Ive found another cave system. You guys come check this out!.... yeeeuck it fucking reeks in here. Like burnt ass and rotting Indian food"

The adventurous human takes several steps into the newly found cave system before a scuttling behind him catches his attention. He turns to illuminate a large greenish insect with his headlamp.

The strange creature scuttles forward curiously only to be met with a swift kick and a "SWEET FUCK THATS A BIG ROACH!!!". The insect twitches and thrashes before falling still. A much larger scuttling rapidlh advances down the tunnel....

> Skitterling hives and humans have made contact. Its not pretty. After slaughtering the mine crew and the first few waves of first responders a distress signal is picked up by a Colonial Marine Frigate. Humanity's sledgehammer is on its way for a bug hunt... ETA 5 Days

> You are Horus

You subvert one of your drone attendants and clamber carefully onto its back into a specially made harness that supports and cradles your fragile form.

You set off throughout the hive, taking in the various sights. Tiny is sparring with 6 Soldiers at once and thrashing them QUITE soundly. A pained squeal echoes high as a Soldier flies toward you, propelled by a vicious backhand. You idly wave a claw and the unlucky Xeno stops as if hes hit a wall. Watch where you throw those.

You drive your attendant on, Ox and Pyro are engaged in a shoving contest in a tunnel that seems to have been goinh on for hours. You snort and shake your head. Barbarians.

You wish to put your mental abilities to use for the hive...

I'm thinking that, with the Colonial Marines imminent arrival, we'll need to change our game. If we can quietly infiltrate their frigate, and from there spread out into the rest of the system, we can seize control without needing to expend too many resources. Make the humans do the work for us.

>>1156721
Maybe a psycho-hallucinogenic that makes humans more susceptible to psychic influence, or subverts their will under the Hive's control. Otherwise, it could be a sort of pylon that exudes dread, confusion, and all sorts of other terrible things, while also boosting and 'broadcasting' Horus's psychic powers.

Also, Bob will have to study Horus in order to perpetuate his class. Perhaps the young psychic Xeno should take some new Warriors or Soldiers under his tiny claws?

And of course, there's the Skitterlings. I'm thinking that, with the Queen now dominated by the Hive, we can bait the humans into a trap, where we can capture them and potentially brainwash them. They can report that the Queen is dead (a lie, of course), and request a dropship pick them up. Then Tiny, Twitch, Horus, and a few specially chosen Soldiers or Shadows can infiltrate the frigate and begin manipulating the humans.

>on its way for a bug hunt
Did they only discover the Skitterling or are they aware of the Xeno hive as well?
If it's only the Skitterling we can move most of their hive to another location while the Marines clears the decoy.

If they found out about the Xenos then Weyland won't be far behind the marines.
>>
>>1156896
My flooding idea maybe? Except like maybe for gas...Gas the Marines amiright?
>>
>>1156911
They discovered A Skitterling hive. Its not near us and is not linked to our captured hive. There will be increased attention from the Colonial marines and ppossible mad scientists after giant insects

Ok. Defense ideas.

STARSHIP TROOPERS HAD IT RIGHT.

> Defensive piping (floods tunnels with gas/spores/acid mist)

>>1157009
We can't get that crazy yet, also we don't have the mutations to do so
>>
>>1157015

We nat 20'd. He said go crazy.

I'm GOING CRAZY.
>>
>>1157020
Having giant plasma spitting bugs would bring too much attention to the hive. Once we're bigger we can go into that, but right now we don't have the Xenopower to hold off an entire planetary/hive evasion. Plus it would also show that we're ready for war, we are not ready for war no matter of many nat 20's we roll we will get out gunned in the end. Also we might and probably will if we go with the anti-orbital xenos would not only draw the Marines, but also the Predators...and due to the last Queens charred burnt corpse...they would gank us.
>>
>>1156998
> The Labyrinth
Make the tunnels into the Hive so complex, so dangerous and unfathomable to the human mind, that nothing but a Xeno could hope to ever actually reach our home.

> The Descent
We must go deeper! Like massive termites, we must delve into the earth to crushing depths were only our kind can thrive. Natural obstacles such as lava flows and gas vents are excellent defenses against any mad enough to venture into our hellish abode.

> Howl's Moving Castle
The Hive itself is a living, breathing creature, and now it has the means to move. Thousands of great heaving muscles twice Ox's size heave giant chisel limbs, allowing the Hive to burrow through the earth.

Basically, we're living in a Nydus Worm from Starcraft.

> Palace of the Dead
Decorating our home with the bones of hundreds, both man and beast alike, an unnatural terror stalks both above and below the earth, making humans unwilling to venture into our territory.

>>1157020
Are these crazy enough? I'll let you guys be the judge.
> inb4 XenoQM is having trouble writing just how awesome and terrifying our Hive defenses are, and how truly fucked the Marines will be.
>>
>>1157154
Holy fuck this is awesome I second this.
>>
>>1157162
I also kinda stole these from Death Among The Stars;
> Bio-Dome: Similar to Planetary Shields this is a self-contained habitable zone within otherwise inhospitable environments including the vacuum of space, toxic or even corrosive atmospheres, and submerged underwater. Those within are able to move and operate without protective equipment, automated systems recycling air and maintaining temperature and other environmental factors. Underground extensions will also have the same protective and comfortable environment unless natural hazards are encountered.
> Jammer Pylon: A tall tower that detects and counters foreign communication signals in a 20 mile radius. This not only blocks enemy communication attempts but also provides a rough estimate of the location of those that attempt to break the communication silence.

There's also the idea that, with a combination of psychic influence and the Queen's sacred Royal Jelly, we can permanently enslave humans. Think about it; with time, we can create our own servile class of hosts, whom we can send out into the galaxy on stolen ships to spread our greatness among the stars.

Of course, given the pronounced effect the jelly had on those Skitterling drones, humans may react with mutation. Strange eyes, hissing and chittering, claws, chitin plates, elongated tongues and fangs, sprouting tails, all sorts of things that don't belong on the human body. Hopefully though, we'll have the time to perfect the process and eliminate the disfigurements.
>>
>>1157154
Again, I dont think j could possibly become more erect.
>>
The best defense is to not need one.
Resin mixed with certain minerals coating every surface of the hive renders it undetectable any form of scaning
>>
>>1157258
I-I think I need an adult.

>>1157278
That can probably be solved by mixing some metals, like iron, lead and tungsten, into the resin. Magnetic ores as well could be added into the walls, and might also interfere with human firearms in the tunnels.
>>
>>1157154
I am scrapping my suggestions and adding these and

>>1157207
>>1157278
>>1156742

These.

Take your fucking pick boyos.
>>
Jesus you guys are awesome
>>
>>1157154
Any of these will be considered a MASSIVE project and will require all of Bobs and Horus' s attention for a WHILE
>>
>>1157498
Personally, I would like a combo of the the Labyrinth and the Descent, since Xenos can easily navigate the tunnels by echolocation and scent, and the heat from volcanic vents would only make it more comfortable for us.

But for my current choice, I'd have to go with;
> Jammer Pylon

The humans can report our presence if they can't communicate.

>>1157517
No, you are!

>>1157517
Kinda like the Bio-Ship, yeah? That's okay, we have other Builders who can continue the work on other projects.

They really should have already gotten started or even completed some of those rooms. They shouldn't need Bob to tell them how to do their jobs.

Also, I found a thing;
https://www.fanfiction.net/s/8481739/1/The-Child

Don't know how good it actually is, still only on the second chapter. But it /does/ inspire some ideas....
>>
>>1157539
Y'know, the Howl's Moving Castle bit seems a little redundant, seeing as we plan on /eventually/ constructing a huge space vessel capable of carrying our Hive to new, unexplored worlds.
>>
>>1157498
I choose The Labyrinth.
>>
>>1157581
Okay, now I'm on to chapter four of this thing, and its...eh. But it /did/ give me an idea. Ever hear of Machiko Noguchi? She was a human woman, adopted and trained by the Predators in their methods and culture. This would be similar.

What do you guys think of indoctrination? We can use a mix of psychic influence and the Royal Jelly on young human children, and as they grow, they will become the Hive's master infiltrators, spies and assassins.

Unlike my previous idea here >>1157207 they would not be mere mutated slaves. No, far more. They would be Ascended. Elevated humans, brought up to be the rank of Xeno. In the 'eyes' of the Queen and the Hive, they would be one of us. Through the mutating effects of the Royal Jelly, they would be faster, stronger, and more resilient than any mere human. And under the personal tutelage of Horus, they can develop psychic abilities of their own.
>>
>>1157659
Ooooooohhhh Xeno-Likey
>>
> Ok thats 2 for the Labyrinth

You enjoy the slight bobbing of the drones movements as you make your way through the Hives winding tunnels. The drone navigates theough the hive effortlessly, the twisting paths burnt into its memory. You doubt an intruder or one unfamiliar with the hive could ever make their way in or out....

> EUREKA

you are struck by a sudden flash of brilliance. If an intruder were to make their way into the hive, they still would need to NAVIGATE It. If the tunnels were impossibly convuluted, twisting, shifting passages an entire army of enemies could wander for years.

You contact Bob and ecstatically tell him your idea. His mind flashes with excitement as he agrees and rushes to the shaping chamber to draw up a model and begin planning. The hive shall be a maze of monsters indeed...

> Labyrinth massive project begun. Bob and Horus' s combined genius shall change the hives already confusing tunnels into a maddening mess of hidden passageways and constantly shifting entrances. 10% progress

Just a couple ideas for room construction projects.

> Shrine of Remembrance: The place of rest for every fallen Xeno, watched over by the remains of the Ancient Mother herself. Members of the Hive come here to pay their respects, and in the closest alien approximation, pray.

> Grand Resonance Chamber: A huge, perfectly spherical room, this is where the psychics of the Hive come to train and practice their skills. The walls are exceptionally thick and reinforced, and are studded with hundreds of small crystals which seem to focus and amplify psychic energy.

> The Forges: Located at the lowest depths of the Hive, where the molten stone and metals of the deep earth can be drawn and put to use. Only Xenos with protective armor plating and the Fire Retardant perk/mutation can safely enter this place. Vital for the construction of Bio-Ships.

> Firing Ranges: Many hundreds of meters in length, and lined with bio-luminescent targets molded from fungus, Xenos can come her to train in the various ranged weaponry available to the Hive and its warriors.
>>
> We're just gonna put a happy lil hive right here.
> You are Ross the Wendigo

You wish farewell to Starscream as you and your drone escorts are dropped into the brush. Ib the distance you can see the lakeside colony glittering with lights. Grimalkin touches your mind, urging you to be cautious and construct a staging point for the attack.

You crouch and dig your claws into the soil. You stand slightly taller than a drone but much more thin, almost emaciated frame. Your head posseses a small crest resembling horns while a small egg sac protrudes under your tail. Your claws are long, thin hooks, perfect for ripping and gouging

Your minion drones hiss nervously as you begin to inspect the area. Youre going to need a perfect spot for the splinter hive..

>Near the lakeside colony (allows access via water, med food and med chance of discovery)

> In the fucking sewers (easily capture new hosts, high potential for discovery, low food)

> Long distance (nearby wooded hills provide cover and food, quite a hike to the colony however)

I'm thinking either the
> Near the lakeside colony (allows access via water, med food and med chance of discovery)
OR
> Long distance (nearby wooded hills provide cover and food, quite a hike to the colony however)

If we link up with the main hive via a tunnel, Bunker can move in to the secondary hive and patrol the lake for prey and to guard Wendigo's little cadre.

But then again, we're trying to play it quiet and safe. Hmmmm....
>>
>>1158424
Could we place it long distance but still on the lake? I think that would be best as it would still allow water access.
>>
>>1158601
Maybe find the lakes source? There's gotta be a river around here somewhere, either leading back to the mountains or off into the swamps.

You set off with your drones along the lakeside under the cover of darkness. The inky waters a mirror to your black shells. You make your trek around the muddy shores until a roaring sound in the distance catches your attention.

You are surprised to find a large expanse of rushing water before you. The drones happily leap in and swim easily as you chitter happily. You call them to you and continue up the river toward the roaring sound.

You stop as you finally see its source, a rocky outcropping with a white wall of water pouring down its face. One of your drones investigates it and excitedly reports a small cave system hidden behind it!

> Hidden waterfall cave discovered! With easy access to the Lake and a reliable source of food it has potential as a hive.

> Take it easy and lay an egg (small eggs can become Runners, drones or Gargoyles)

You order your drones to gather a few fish while you get comfy. You craft a small, soft pad of resin and recline gently. Your egg sack gradually fills with fluid and after a small meal and a bit of concentration you produce a small, fleshy egg! Grimalkin watches through your eyes proudly as you feel the tiny life within. You just need a host now.

> Hey guys! Sorry for the delay, real life popped up and ive been busy for the last few hours. Lets get this train rolling!!!

> 1!! Critical failure
> Hunters are hunted

Your drones spread out and begin searching for an appropriate host. They range far and wide, attempting to find anything large and healthy enough to sustain a Xenomorph infestation.

One drone finds a young deer and rapidly subdues it, dragging it back to the hive. You congratulate it and mentally check the progress of the other drone. What it reports shocks you...

The drone is currently hiding in a small drainage tunnel while a squad of heavily armed col-sec officers hunt him down. The drone reports he investigated a sound from the tunnel near the lakeside colony and encountered a lone, lightlt armed human. The man was subdued easily but he managed to trigger a panic button, summoning the Col-sec officers in moments. As they approached the drone attempted escape down the tunnel but it seems to be sealed on all ends with heavy grates. the security team released their Informant who has given a description of your drone to them..

This isnt good.
> Drone #1 stumbled upon a Col-Sec smuggler informant in the middle of a drop. He summoned his rapid response team before being subdued. 4 heavily armed (Shotguns, assault rifles) Security officers are slowly hunting your drone down.

> SCREEE

you rapidly fire off orders to your drones. Drone#1 rapidly adheres himself to the ceiling and flattens as mich as possible in a small crevice. Ifthe humans dont look closely theyll never see him. Just In time as well!! Flashlights are beginning to Illuminate the tunnel as the squad moves closer.

Drone#2 rapidly moves in to create a distraction. The informant is standing by the drainage tunnel entrance, smokinh a cigarette while a col-sec officer takes his report. The man turns to radio to his superiors only to come face to face with the drooling maw of drone#2. The man barely has time to widen his eyes in shock before the drones inner jaw snaps forward and pulps his brain.

The informant desperately attempts to run, scream and shoot all at once. He succeeds only in one. He turns to run while drawing his pistol, stumbles, falls and fires. Youre drone is pretty sure humans need most of their feet to walk as the informant howls in agony.

Drone#1 reports the squad has stopped and seems to have split up, with 2 headed toward the entrance and 2 continuing their hunt

Your drones rapidly redeploy, the first drone rapidly relocates to a small alcove and prepares himself to lunge. The first pair of security officers creep by slowly, scanning the tunnel for any signs of the Xenomorph. The first officer walks by without a glance but the second, a few steps behind is suddenly yanked into the alcove. A wet smack is heard along with a heavy thump as the first officer whirls.

"Ramirez? RAMIREZ WHERE THE FUCK ARE YOU?!?"...

> Drone #2

The screaming informant is rapidly subdued by the eager drone. The mans agonized screams are rapidly muffled by resin as he is bound head to toe in the versatile substance. The drone secures him to a nearby tree and takes a new position as the 2nd pair of Security officers exits the tunnel. They rapidly find the body of the officer theyd left with the informant. The pair rapidly radio for help and split up. One headed toward the lake while the other notices your drag marks and slowly follows them.

You hold your position as he comes closer and closer. You shift your weight as the human comes just into lunging range. A twig snaps as you leap. The human whirls, his finger tightening on the trigger and sending a burst of bullets just under you.

Your claws pierce his chest and pin him to the ground as you bear down on him. The humans dying gurgles are music to your ears...

Gotta remember to leave no evidence behind, or to leave scratch and claw marks that might point the human reinforcements to the Skitterlings.

Then, when we get back to the Hive, we close off the entrance. We can't have anyone finding it. Instead, we could dig a tunnel similar to U-pipe in a sink, that leads up into the pool fed by the waterfall. Our Xenos can easily swim, quickly dragging human captives and prey up into the Hive without them drowning.

Also..Xeno...Small bit of critique. That's a few too 'rapidly' there. Just sayin'.
