THE GALAXY IS IN TURMOIL!

After the battle over the Forest Moon of Endor, chaos still reigns in a galaxy recovering from the chains of the GALACTIC EMPIRE!

Striking from MANDALORE, the warrior clans march in a new uprising, led by the legendary BOBA FETT!

The NEW REPUBLIC, formerly the REBEL ALLIANCE, struggles to rebuild their former territory!

In the shadows of the UNKNOWN REGIONS, the brilliant GRAND ADMIRAL THRAWN gathers the strength of the IMPERIAL REMNANT!

It is in these times that fortunes may be made, empires may be built, and fates may be spun.

You are ADMIRAL JANUS CAIN, commander of a respectable warfleet, currently over Anobis, about to begin an investigation into who might be sustaining the civil war...

You are wearing
>Your light armor
You have as weapons
>A green lightsaber, taken from Rahm Kota
>A heavy blaster pistol
>An EE-3 Carbine rifle
>You left arm, a military grade prosthetic equipped with a grapple
You are accompanied by
>Task Force Anobis-Alpha-One "Womp Rat Fuckers," consisting of your Darkeyes, you, the 243rd 'Pyre Boys', the 321st 'Ire's Eyes', and the 826th 'Bound Dogs.'
>1,050,000 liquid credits
>roughly 600,000 in disposable cargo (depending on how well you barter)
>355,000 Stormtroopers with your fleet
>85 AT-ATs, 140 AT-STs and assorted dropships with the fleet
>3 ISDs, 1 of those Mark 2, 30 Victories (1 and 2s,) 2 Acclamators, 12 Tartans, 10 Nebulon-Bs, 4 MCs
>160 TIE wings, 40 TIE bomber wings

The shuttle door opens, and you step out onto the Anobis Space Station. It's small, by Imperial standards - 10,000 Meters floorspace, in total. There's a warehouse section, a residential section, a merchant's section, and, of course, the hangar section, where you stand now.

The WRFs filter off of the shuttle after you. They're currently in civilians, but they carry their sidearms - light pistols - and have commlinks keeping them in touch.

The air here on the station is stale, and tastes of fuel. The recyclers seem to be deteriorating in quality - no money to keep them maintained, you suppose. The hangar is actually quite clean - this must be the one they use to keep up appearances for other officers. It's standard Imperial hangar layout. As you take it in, the station commander strides in the door.

"Admiral Cain! Good to have you onboard. Our station isn't much, as you can see," he says apologetically. "But I hope you'll find your time onboard comfortable. My... limited forces are on standby, ready to assist with whatever you need."

Question: if we have the relevant production and r&d facilities, can we make our own designs for vehicles and ships?

I got an idea for a heavy speeder:

capacity for 6 guys, one driver, one heavy blaster dude and 4 troopers that can hook themselves into the sides and sit in colapsable seats.

Gunner position would have a shield at the gun and somewhat elevated so that he can shoot the heavy blaster 360 degrees. Also magnetic locks on the bottom to prevent the gunner from flying out at the slightest maneuver.

The pilot seat should be armored with a canopy

Primary armament for the speeder replaced with 2 anti armor missiles within the tubes.

Extra armament in the back that deploys a wide firing countermeasure of 50~ darts that explode 0.2 seconds after contact, to chase off/fuck up enemy speeders as the primary purpose.

Should all in all be 2-3 times the size and overall cost of the average iconic speeder

Thoughts on my autistic ramblings?

We talk about this kinda stuff in the discord.

"I appreciate the offer, Governor, but your men would be put to better use on standby. They will be needed soon, I promise. Oh, and nice hangar."

You proceed into the station. The hangar leads into the merchant's deck. Stores and stalls line the narrow, harshly lit corridors. Mouse droids dart around the paths, leaving clean trails in their wake. Large signs proclaim the sale of everything from assorted civilian clothing to mining contracts. There's even a small weapons store, guarded by a Stormtrooper.

The WRFs split up into pairs and head out to begin casing the station. You could feasibly goof off, as all decks should be covered, or you could do your damn job.

You stop in at the mechanic's stall. The shopkeep, a Rodian, is in the back, working on a droid's internals. A mining droid's internals. Hmmm. In the front of the store, assorted tools - hydrospanners, laser welders, and such - hang on racks. Mods and upgrades for civilian speeders and starships sit on shelves. It's all pretty low-quality.

"Hey, I'm looking for a good pros kit. Would you recommend this one? It looks pretty good, but, well, looks can be deceiving."

The Rodian finishes tweaking a wire in the droid, and takes a glance over his shoulder.

"What, the JensenWorks Portable kit? Yeah, it's a pretty good one. It has some stuff for repairing it, whatever, all in that little case there."

He double takes.

"But hot stars, you might not ever need a rep kit. That thing you got there's mil-grade, if I ever seen it. You must be a miner, then. Lotsa heavy-duty work when the droids break down."

He smacks the droid he's working on. Its lights flicker for a few seconds, as if it's powering up, and then they shut off. The rodian swears.

"This hunk of junk, for instance. It's a hundred and twenty five years old, you think they would've replaced it by now."

He shrugs.

"Ah well, I'm kinda growing attached. This thing comes in for repairs every damned half-year now. She's almost like a part of the family."

He freezes.

"Ah, shit, I started rambling again, didn't I," he curses, looking at your bemused face. "What do ya need?"

The rodian takes a longer look at your arm, which you're now presenting to him.

"I'm not sure I have the kits or the skills to upgrade that thing. You'd need to go to a specialized bionics vendor to have that upgraded. All the basic 'upgrade' kits I have here would severely downgrade you. But, at the bionic stores, they have some really cool shit - ray shield generators, fold-out vibroblades, etcetera. But you'd need a permit for all those."

You shrug,

"Janus Cain. No problem, really."

You give him some credits for his efforts and head out.

Your comm beeps at you as the reports from the WRFs come in.

"Residential section is clear of suspicious marks."

"Merchant deck, clear."

"Warehouse deck. We may have something here."

You click the broadcast button.

"All right. WRFs, converge on the warehouse deck. Eyes out for trouble."

You walk down to the warehouse deck, sighting some of your taskforce around, doing their best to look casual as they all board the same turbolift. Dumbasses. You hop on a lift separate from your Darkeyes, and head down by way of two redirections.

Your group is nonchalantly gathered in a few clusters around the location that the team that found this thing indicated.

It's a large cargo crate, one of those standard modular types. It's sealed, but your practiced eye sees signs of a recent opening - blown away dust near its entrance, for instance.

A quick perimeter check assures you that no one else is in the vicinity.

"Do we have a scan of that box?"

"Yessir," one of Charlie replies. "She's shielded. Can't get a good read. Manifest reads mining droids, but we didn't see any when we opened it up - just a bunch of boxes."

"Get this moved near an airlock. I want to be able to space it if anything goes wrong."

A powerloader droid soon comes and deposits it next to an airlock. It then clears the space around.

"Alright, crack it open."

One of Gamma levers it open. Exactly what was reported - stacks of sealed boxes. Not a single mining droid in sight.

"Weird."

You move in, carbine up, ready for anything. You crack a box...

"Holy mother of fucking hell that is a lot of firepower."

This box contains at least sixty A280 assault rifles, with loaded power packs. The next box - twenty E-Web blasters. Attachments for droids - auto-targeting laser turrets. Grenades. Even ten thermal detonators.

"Whoever delivered this has access to a whole lot of death," says Hitscan. "And they want to keep the blood flowing."

"I want tracers rigged on every box. See where this thing's going. Get it moved back into place. Also, someone grab me a manifesto..."

Later, back in your quarters on the Gambit, you read through the manifesto. It reads:

Crate 1: 4 dozen mining droids and assorted powerpacks. DELIVERED TO ANOBIS STATION.
Crate 2: 5 metric tons of fertilizer. DELIVERED TO ANOBIS STATION.

The rest of the crates' listings are various luxury items. It's all registered to a ship called the "Freedom's Cry." It passed through Anobis less than a day ago. Its captain is a Mon Calamari called Car Ibus. He didn't report a planned route.

It's a new day, by your clock. You feel rested. You don your armor, take up your weapons, and eat a hearty, laughter filled breakfast with the Darkeyes, joking with each other about the WRFs, the rebs, everything. As breakfast is winding down, you say:

"So, the investigation needs to continue. I haven't read any movement from the crate as of yet, so that can wait. We should check out..."

"...the farmers. I want to cover the Rebel sympathizers before we investigate the miners."

The farmers are hard to get to agree to your visit, but eventually they come around. You're told to land at a location central to the farmer's land. It has a few buildings clumped together; a school, a hall where the council meets, a cantina, a marketplace - which is more a loose collection of stalls - and an outdoor storage area, with boxes draped with tarps loosely arranged within a fence.

You land on one of three tiny landing pads, to the immediate west of the town. You can hear the ancient metal of it shriek as it bears the weight of your shuttle. The door hisses open, and the bright sun of Anobis almost slaps you in the face with its intensity.

You and Gamma are operating under the cover of some people "generously" brought down from the station for some fresh air and natural gravity. You are dressed in civvies, but your heavy pistol hangs at its clip, and your lightsaber is tucked into your left sleeve.

You walk back into your shuttle. You aren't sure why.

The market is at a low level of bustle. People mill about, behind stalls, wandering between them. A cool breeze only offers slight relief from the sun's glaring gaze. Large, homemade signs offer almost every agricultural item in the known galaxy, it seems. Some offer tools, fertilizer, and one stall offers delivery services.

>What do you do?

>>1108622
Buy a souvenir and a small amount of expensive non-perishable food, then use that as a setup to butter up the delivery guy. He knows what goes in and out of this town. It's our best bet unscrewing the cap of the rebel operation as far as the farmers are concerned

You shop around, and find some nice greenery to keep in your personal quarters on the Gambit. The shopkeepers are all quite professional, but none of them seem happy to see you - you swear you heard one mutter "fuckin offworlders" as you left his stall. You also pick up some incredibly delicious purple fruits, as big as your fist. They run with juice as you bite into them, and provide as much hydration as sustenance.

You turn a corner around a stall, and run smack into Jess Tenner! Her eyes go wide with recognition for a second, but a finger to your lips and her expression turns to one of realization.

"Hey there... Ian! Nice to see you around."

"You too, Jess. Hey, wanna head to the pub for some drinks?"

"Yeah, sure!"

The cantina is bustling a hell of a lot more than the market. Two harried women rush around, bringing drinks and food. It smells deliciously of cooking food. [bold]The din is loud enough that you can definitely avoid eavesdroppers.[/bold]

You order what Jess recommends, and talk while you wait for your food.

"So, Janus, why are you in Town?"

"Investigating the attack on the peace talks. You?"

"I run a little police station out of the town hall. Most of the 'criminals' we chase down are just varmints chewing on some old farmer's crops. I've only got two others, but I'm kinda the Chief by default. Someone needs a lawbringer, they come to me," she says proudly.

"Silaf?"

"Head councilman - or, well, most senior. The votes generally go with him. He's... the closest thing to a politician you'll find out here on the plains."

You nod. You know exactly what she means.

Jess grimaces. "Hunting makes it sound like you plan on killing him."

"I may have to, Jess. If he's keeping the fires of this war burning..."

She nods. "Do what you need to keep the peace."

The walk to the hall is short, about two minutes at your brisk pace. It's probably the largest building in the town by floorspace. Small wood double doors open into a large, open-aired atrium. Two more doors presumably lead into the closed room for winter conferences. A few other doors lead into personal offices.

Fire up the interdictor, shut down the system

Unfortunately, the Interdictor's gravity well generators were damaged over Carida. It can barely disrupt missiles around it, much less lock down a system.

I'm seeing consensus towards sending the WRFs to take him down.

He's probably at home, so that's where the action will be.

But we should cover our bases and keep some men here. Take the off-world permit with us though.

Also, comm our flagship and tell them to not permit any ships to leave the planet. Any that do not comply will be shot down / boarded.
