"Hey, at least I won't stop contacting you after I go out on my journey. I'm not like him."
She seems a little taken aback. "That... That's true."
"What was he like?" You're actually curious. All you've felt towards him was anger. He left right around the time your mother's father died. He's about ten years older than your mother, and his parents had died about seven years before he decided to leave. You don't remember anything, but your mother insists she keeps the photo albums with him in them.
Andy thinks for a moment. "He.. He was fun." She pauses, assessing your face, which looks indifferent. "He always played with me outside. He took me to the park a lot. But he was also gone a lot... I thought he was always busy working, but sometimes I'd hear mom yelling at him to stop "foolishly believing you can change anything the planet does". I never knew what that meant. I guess he was a protester or something." She shrugs. "Maybe he got involved in something bad. Maybe he left to save us."

She chews her cheek for a minute. "I.. I don't know... Wishful thinking, I guess. I just... Want to give him a reason to... I don't know... Not suck?" She stares at you for a moment.
You nod. "So.. Do you think it's something big?"
She averts her gaze. "I hope not. I... Miss him." Her gaze flickers to your face for a moment before settling on the ground again.

"Maybe..." Andy says quietly.
"I'm heading out. I'll see you later."
"Yea..." she says staring at the floor. She breaks out of her reverie when she notices you staring. "Have fun!" she says reaching for a bottle of wine. "Check ya later."
You head out the door, not exactly knowing what to do now.

You decide it can't hurt to train Fox and Lucky for a while. You want to be in top shape for the first gym! Hell, you'll blow them out of the water!
You pick them up from the pokemon center, thanking the nurse on your way out. You find a small clearing at the park that seems like it's a place for pokemon battles. There aren't many people here.
Now... How to train them and who?

"Alright, Fox. I want to work on special attack," you say after you release her. She mews with excitement. "See that rock? I want you to keep blasting Ember at it, but try to penetrate through the rock! Don't focus just on damaging."
She jumps into action and starts. After a while, she seems to tire out, but she's getting there! The rock looks black and a piece actually chipped off. You grab Fox and twirl her around before putting her back in her ball. She earned a rest.

You release Lucky. "Okay, we're going to work on speed." You pick up a stick, tie it to a tree branch and swing it so it goes back and forth. "I want you to fire off rocks at the tree, but not at the stick." She tilts her head and makes a cute, confused noise. "Once the stick swings away from the tree, fire it off at the truck. You don't nees to focus on power for this. Just be fast!"
You and Lucky work on her speed and you start to swing the stick faster and faster. She's getting good. You even bring out Fox to sit atop the branch to swing it even faster.
After a while, you're all tired. You decide to call it a day and walk back home. It's dark out now. Andy is passed out, drooling on the couch as the news plays. Something about a group of people trying to interfere in Team Planet's actions...
Team Planet? Stop "foolishly believing you can change anything the planet does"? And how he was gone all the time?

Some moves are harder to learn than others. Egg moves are easy. Level moves are a bit harder. Hm/Tm moves you can learn either through them and the pokedex or just by teaching. This is waaay harder.
Also, I love Naida. But I also love Aimi and Emma. It's hard to choose!

Does evolution works like in the games? if so lets play with lucky before going to sleep.

(Indeed it does. Although some (besides stones) can evolve by getting stronger, even if it is from of affection or whatnot. Lucky is already pretty close, probably within one or two more threads.)

You stare at her drooling, sleeping frame for a moment. Despite what she lets on, Andy is a sensitive person. She puts on a strong face, but she's got a soft heart.
You decide not to tell her. Ignorance is bliss. If he ever does decide to show his face, you can deal with it then.
You head to your room and let Fox and Lucky out. It's the first time they've ever both been at your home at the same time. Lucky hobbles around your room for a few minutes, while Fox curls up at the foot of your bed and falls asleep.
"Hey, Lucky. Want to play patty-cake?" She tilts her head, not sure what you mean. You sit her down in front of you and teach her. She quickly gets the hang of it and squeals a laugh whenever one of you mess up. You fall asleep soon, Lucky at your side.
You wake up, and stare at the ceiling for a moment. Fox is inbetween your legs and Lucky is at your side. You think if you move, you'll wake them. So you lay there and think. Your dad is probably involved in stopping Team Planet's actions... Whatever those are. Try and try as anyone might, no one knows what their plans are. Do you even want to find out?

You move carefully, but they both end up waking up. You have them follow you into the kitchen where you make some pancakes. You put a few on three plates and let them have at it. You save some for Andy, who comes out of the bathroom and sits with you and your Pokemon at the table.
"So.. We're like a little family." She grins, sharing some with her Meowth.
You laugh. "You're awfully optimistic this morning."
She grins at you. "Of course!"
You put a finger to your mouth. "Did Garett confess his love to you?"
Her face goes red. "That asshole? Hell no! I have a date. With Michael."
"Who-"
"None of your business, but if you must know, he works at the mail office. Oh, and mom sent us a letter." She hands you a piece of paper. It details how nervous she is for you to start your journey. You roll your eyes. "Same old mom," she says with a laugh.
You stand up. "Good luck with Michael."

If we can train Lucky too, then we should work on something like endurance. I'm not sure if I read the last thread right, but to me it seems like Lucky didn't even get hurt but fainted from exhaustion due to using powerful moves in too quick succession.

There is a 10 minute waiting period to count up votes. As always, you can choose more than one option. I will try to be fair and accommodating. Combat mechanics might be subject to change, but I will almost always have you roll a 1d100 unless more than one move is being used. I'll also probably have you roll for tough choices on how well they go.

You head to the park you were at before. A few kids and parents are there, but the place where you train is a bit far from the playground. You guess that makes sense, lawsuits and all.
You bring Fox out and tell her to do the same thing you did yesterday. She's getting so much better!
"Uh, hey Max." You turn, meeting Emma's gaze. "C-can we train together?" She gives a cute, nervous smile.
"Of course!"
She let's Eli out and he yips at her happily. "What did you have in mind?" she asks.
"Hmm, I really wanted to work on Lucky's endurance. In Aimi and I's battle, she let off a few moves and that's kinda what tired her out."
"I noticed." She nods determindly. "Alright! Today we'll work on endurance!"
You let Lucky out and explain to her that you want her to fire off as much power as she can imagine at one of the huge boulders that lines the park. Emma does the same with Eli. You watch your Pokemon while chatting with Emma.

"What was your childhood like?" you say, glancing at Emma.
"Well..." she puts a hand on her cheek, thinking. "Dad worked a lot so I always had to go to my aunt's house. I could tell she had had enough of my dad's attitude towards work, but she never took it out on me or anything. She was indifferent and I feel like she kind of resented me for my dad." Her face grows red. "B-but she was fun sometimes! We'd usually take a trip to Eira and go to their Christmas festival." Her eyes kind of glaze over. "But she'd usually get drunk while I played in the snow with the other kids. Dad was always around on Christmas day, though. He'd give us both 2 presents each. My favorite was the camera he'd gotten me. My aunt and I used to take a trip to all the different islands and I'd take pictures of them and the Pokemon. I always knew I wanted to be a trainer. But my camera broke. I dropped it in the snow one time when one of the kids on Eira shoved me on accident." She focuses back and gives you a sheepish look. "U-um, I'm s-sorry for running on like that."

You sit for a moment, watching your Pokemon get stronger. You guess everyone has sorrow in their lives, but you don't want to think about that now.
"What do you want to accomplish, you know, in the future?"
She smiles warmly. "W-well, the only thing I wanted to accomplish when I was younger w-was becoming a Pokemon trainer, and now that I am, I know there's so much more... Having someone to care about and having them care back is always nice." She nods. "P-pokemon, I mean. But the former is a nice concept."
You nod back. "It is."
"I-I guess... I want to take on the league, but I want to ask Calis if he'll reconsider letting my dad into the league. I... I think he'd do it right this time."
"Do you think he'd go through with it?"
She puts a hand to her cheek again. "I'm n-not sure... But it was really important to him, despite wanting to beat Aaron. M-maybe if he had another chance, he'd... Loosen up and not want to work so hard and so much." She shakes her head, cheeks red. "I'm so negative today." She grins and bonks herself on the head. "But really, what I want for the f-future... is to have a warm home. My Pokemon, me, and... a husband and children." She sighs wistfully.
You feel your ears grow hot.
Her face gets redder. "I-I'm sorry! This is weird, right? I don't m-mean to dump all this on you!"

She nods, her red face growing calmer. "I-I guess that's true!"
You think for a moment. "Well, I want to start something like a Battle Maison."
She nods. "Y-yea, they have one of those in Kalos, right? There isn't one in Elos."
You nod. "Exactly. It helps trainers get stronger and they can earn prizes if they win."
She nods. "What a great idea! I guess you'd have to get funding from somewhere... M-maybe gym leaders? You could add them as contacts to show up and battle a trainer when they've reached a certain point."
You nod. "And the Elite Four. You'd have to pay a little bit in order to become someone that trainers challenge, but you'd win money if you won."
"So it's like a give and receive type of thing."
"Yea, and once you win a lot you can get special coins that help you buy the prizes!"
She jumps up. "Count me in! When you create your Battle Maison, I'll be a challenger!"
You grin and high-five. "Plus... I would also like to have a warm home and family."
She goes red again and you two stare at each other for a moment, not sure what to say.
"Hey! You trying to get stronger? Well, it won't work! I'm gonna beat you again!" Aimi stands with her hands on her hips, smirking.

She crosses her arms and laughs. "Say what you want, but I guess I accept. We're rivals, so prepare to be beat!"
Emma stares between the two of you, unsure of whether you're fighting or not.
Aimi pokes you in the chest. "Welp, I didn't come to battle. I wanted to see if you guys wanted to come to the casino with me."
You look towards Fox, Lucky, and Eli. They're all just sitting and resting. Training took a lot out of them, but they all seem to be a little stronger. Each of them haven't proud looks on their faces.

You retrieve your Pokemon and head towards a small casino. There are slots, poker, and people betting on a Ponyta race. Aimi seems to want to head towards the slots. Emma doesn't know what to do.

You all cash in your money for chips and coins. Aimi gets about $200 in chips and 30 coins. Emma gets no chips, but gets 50 coins. You get 25 coins and $200 in chips. You're just going to follow Aimi's lead. She looks in her element here. She probably knows what to do.
You all sit at a slot machine. Aimi and Emma pop two coins in. Aimi loses twice and Emma wins one coin back. You've already decided you're going to go to the poker table after this.

You pop two coins in, following Aimi's lead. The slot dings when you win a coin back the first time. The second time, it dings in a different tone to tell you you lost.
Aimi glares at you and shoves 3 more in. You do the same. Aimi wins 2 coins back and you win nothing. It goes on like this for a while before you and Aimi realize you both have the same exact number of coins you started out with. You decide to cash them back in for money and head to the poker table.
There's a fat old man who looks really rich. He looks like he's good at calling bluffs. A skinny woman sits beside him. She looks like she has no idea what's going on. Aimi sits across from you, looking determined.
Cards are dealt and bets are placed.

You raise. The others raise too. You can't really tell who's bluffing. You study the others for a while. The skinny woman is fidgeting with her thumbs. The old man is staring blankly at nothing. Aimi is staring straight at you and gives you a wink. She's trying to throw you off. But you won't be deterred. You raise again. The old man sighs and folds. Aimi stares at you still. She raises. The skinny woman calls. You call. Aimi calls. The woman folds. You show and it's you! You won. It's around $150. Aimi is all out of money, but the two other still want to go. Do you continue?

You stand up and collect your chips. You follow Aimi to the counter where she pouts and cashes in the few chips she had. She lost quite a bit of money. You cash yours in.
In the lower row, there's super potions, full restores, full revives, and great balls. In the middle row, there's vitamins of all kinds that help develop your Pokemon. You're limited to 3 per person. They also have a bunch of Tms: Hidden Power, Flamethrower, Thunderbolt, Psychic, Ice Beam, Double Team. In the higher row you have a choice of Pokemon: Abra, Clefairy, Dratini, Scyther, and Pikachu.

You cash in for a Dratini. The attendant hands you the pokeball. It's in a luxury ball with a blue ribbon. "They're special bred so you could get lucky with a nice moveset." He smiles as you take the ball.
"Yea, bred in a puppy mill," Aimi says, rolling her eyes.
"I assure you, we get these bred by special breeders who take good care of their Pokemon."
You ignore them and walk out. You want to get to known your new Pokemon! As a blinding light makes itself known, Dratini stands on the ground, looking a little scared.
"Hi, Dratini. My name is Max and I'm going to be your trainer."
It looks up at you, shaking a little. Maybe the attendant lied?
"Huh, he seems scared." Aimi gives you a little smirk.
"He-he's probably been in his ball the entire time."
"But I thought you said-"
"It's still just one room. It's comfortable, but it's still lonely." Aimi rolls her eyes. "Maybe it would be a better invention if you could turn the other way back on. Pokemon go into their ball, they go into a stasis. It's like sleeping. But when they go into their ball now, they just sit there."
Emma's face goes red. "Well m-maybe people just need to take care of their P-Pokemon better!"
"Not everyone does or can."

You hold up your hands. "You're both right. People need to take care of their Pokemon better, but there also should be an option for people who don't have enough time."
They both shut up and kind of stare at each other before apologizing. You lean down towards Dratini.
"Can you show me the moves you know?" you point to a rock. Dratini straightens up and starts firing off moves. You recognize them as Leer, Wrap, Dragon Rage, and... Was that Hyper Beam? Wow. He's pretty powerful.
