Welcome to Cabin Control Quest. This is our Third ritual playing as James Fucking Henderson. A man who turned away from his rirsing superstar status in Hollywood to anually direct snuff films for the amusement of The Ancient Ones waiting to end humanity.

Recently it has been discovered that saboteurs have been trying to stop the rituals for unknown reasons. Last year's chemical outbreak and potentially the year before's intel failure being the work of your would be saboteurs. And now... something is loose.

"Jess. Anything on your readouts?" You say inspecting the hallway.

"Nothing."

"No thermals and no ghosts?" You confirm.

"Nope." She answers.

"If it bleeds we can kill it." Norm notes sagely.

"Shit. Alright. Hunter Actual, to all responders - Alpha is down. Repeat Alpha is down." You radio in waiting as squad leaders broadcast their bullshits, damnits and fucks. "Listen. We're dealing with flesh and blood and you're all capable of handling that. Alpha got ambushed, so if you got trackers use them." You counsel making the hand signals for your squad to form up on you, "We've not got a confirmed enemy so be prepared for anything."

"Roger Hunter, Bravo out." Another leader replies giving you an idea.

"Bravo, when was last check in for Alpha?" You demand.

"Uhm, they never did. They've been radio silent since lockdown, figured they had orders to-" He begins.

"Bravo actual. I am going to kick your dick when this is over. Keep in touch with Charlie and Delta. You're now comms officer. Understood?" You snap as you move down the stairs in formation. The handheld radio in your hand complaining at the force of your grip.

"Aye Ma'am. I'll get a status update now. Bravo out." He signs off and you resist the urge to sigh in frustration in front of your squad.

"Hey Ice. You can kick the shit out of him later." Trish reminds you, nudging you with her SSAR. "Or you could enjoy the hunt, since you bitch about babysitting duty every year."

Yeah she's right, your off the leash for the first time in years and just because an idiot didn't notice a squad going dark you're going to get annoyed? Nah you're going to embrace this hunt.

Meanwhile in Control

"These guys are boring." You say with frustration, "Seriously, gamer girl is playing on her vita. Boxer girl is doing squats, Mystery Man is STILL unpacking!" You stress, "While Saint Helena and Metallica are relaxing with green fucking tea."

"Isn't it a nice change of pace?" Henson asks. "Giving me more time to re-learn my old job."

"I suppose...."

"Henson, drop all the lights except a spotlight on the trapdoor as you pop it." You say crossing your legs in your seat.

"On it." He says hitting a few buttons on his desk. The cabin is plunged into darkness.

The gamer girl frowns as her vita stops charging while playing. Mystery man continues unabated, the blackout having zero effect on his packing, Mary and X are completely fine and are leaning into each other with heavy eyes and relaxing together until... what was it he called her Mohammed Alishia? sounds off; "WHO THE FUCK MESSED WITH MY POWER?"

X and [THE VIRGIN] Mary sit up from their snuggle pile with blushing faces and concern for their... well she's her cousin and he doesn't really know her so the word friend feels misplaced.

But soon enough as she is cursing and screaming about nothing, Mystery Man and Geek Girl come check out the drama. A spotlight seems to shine from nowhere to a propped trapdoor.

"Nope. Nope Nope Nope." Black Betty says.

"Don't you go anywhere!" [THE WHORE] says with a grin. He takes Mystery Man and by the arm and leads them over to the trapdoor. "Teambuilding. We're checking out the spooky basement."

"Not sure if that's smart..." Mystery Man says.

"Whiteboy might be right for once." She says.

"Tough." [THE VIRGIN] says. "Because I'm going down there and I'm sure you both wont let me go without protection."

"I think we all should stick together. But with my vote it is 3-2 in favour of checking this place out." Redheaded Geek speaks.

"Fine. Truce?" The dude offers his hand.

"Truce." Lisa agrees.

They shake hands and beging to take the first steps into the treasure trove of activation items.

Meanwhile enroute to Catering

"And I'm telling you that's not good enough. Raise Delta." You bark into the radio.

"Look, Hunter I'm telling you. Charlie checked in fine both times but Delta is dead air."

"Christ weren't they on stable duty?" Norm says with a frown.

"Shut up and watch me back Luv." Jess says.

"Looks like we need to be the big damn heroes again. Shit." Trish moans.

"Charlie, report." You ask as your squad banters.

"We're full strength and have locked down C455, nothing and nobody in server room. Sent a report off to intel on some oddities though." He reports.

"Relocate to outside stable and set a perimeter. We'll be clearing Catering and Lobby then meeting you. Over." You order. "Bravo, you have Gray in your squad correct?"

"Yeah Farmboy's here."

"Good, move to support and reinforce Charlie at Stables once he's booby trapped Demo entrance." You order Bravo leader.

"Gray, when you get to Charlie you know what to do. Just like Panama."

"Sure thing Sue." He drawls.

"That's Hunter Actual in operation. Bravo slap some discipline into your subordinate and get busy working or get busy dying." You finish before closing the frequency.

"Awful American saying there boss. Going native?" Trish asks with a smirk only to be interrupted by a trademark ping, followed by another and another.

"Movement! Left Turn of T Junction ahead! Fleeing fast!" She shouts.

Going to the left means it was just in catering and it's fleeing to the lobby.

We still have no fucking clue what it is, chasing after something we don't know the identity of is a retarded move and a total death trap.

I realize you guys want to see people die, but lets try to limit it to the sacrifices and not retardedly getting our characters killed by stumbling cock first into an obvious trap. If this thing is smart enough to ambush and smart enough to run from us, it is probably smart enough to set a trap for us. When facing superior firepower it is only logical it would, you have to remember we aren't necessarily fighting something as dumb as a xenomorph or serial killer, this could be a fey creature, an extra-dimensional entity, or Old Ones know what.

We don't keep harmless shit in the stables, no matter what it is, it is deadly enough to kill 5 humans in the prime of their lives from varying backgrounds, some of whom might have weapons training. So caution is key.

"Quick sweep of catering and then chase it. Go! Go! Go!" You command as you and Trish move ahead weapons bared.

Jess and the two heavies lag behind ready to mop up anything you guys find, as you level your babies.

Turning right at the T junction you outstrip your squad by a solid thirty metres aiming one gun to each side as your pink eyes scan the room in every corner. The benches nearest the kitchen have been tossed against a wall with great force, as if
they were in the way of some great wave.

There are no blood no corpses, nothing would suggest a creature was just here.

"Movement's getting away chief!" Jess shouts.

"after it!" You order, turning out of the cafeteria and pull your radio, "Charlie, possible hostile headed your way. It's flesh and blood, possibly sentient. Be ready to mince it." You warn without even waiting for a rpely you disconnect and sprint after the rest of the squad chasing this thing.

"We're gaining on it. Looks like it's having trouble in lobby!" Jess huffs as the routine ping pinging of her motion tracker suddenly goes silent.

> "... the routine ping pinging of her motion tracker suddenly goes silent."

This doesn't bode well...

This could be an ambush or a trick, what would cause it to stop dead like that?

Note: If I recall correctly that tracker could detect lab rats in the Chem laboratories, the fact that the motion sensor has gone completely silent either means that it has broken at an inopportune moment, or the creature is standing perfectly, completely motionless...

You cautiously emerge into the Lobby. "why did the pings stop?" You ask Jess.

"Either 'es standing dead still or he's behind us somehow."

"Right then, Trish, snipe. Jess, Norm with me eyes up!" You put a hand on Martin's chest. "Rear guard. Burn anything coming down that hallway after us."

"Easy." He answers.

Your squad of three creeps forward while Trish unfolds her SSAR out into a full length sniper rifle. Jess sweeps her tracker back and forth in search of a ping, while her eyes roam over the huge vertical space.

Your heart is hammering as you descend the spiral staircase round the outside, hutning for a threat. Norm's gatling gun is held at the ready spun partially up every five seconds to keep it ready to spray hot lead.

On the ground floor, you stop as your instincts say something is wrong. "Report."

"Nothing on the roof." Jess says, "No pings."

"Floor's clear. Can't see behind the board though."

"Trish how we-" You start, looking up to your markswoman's position and noticing the unnatural shadow clinging to the bottom of the catwalk for the first time.

She takes her hand off the rifle to respond, the world slowing down as you begin to cry out a warning.

It's nowhere near swift enough, the catwalk explodes upwards and Jess' mouth opens in shock and terror as she her attempts to scream are cut off by both steel and chitin colliding with her sternum.

Her weapon goes flying from the impact of the monster emerging, leaving her as defenseless as a newborn babe. The thing grabs her out of the air and curelly slams her to the wall, your sniper going limp from the impact.

Norm's gun finally comes to bear, the gatling gun churning out bullets at a frightening rate as the beast begins to abscond with it's victory.

You and Jess begin sprinting to the stairs whilst Maritn tries to peg it from his position, unable to move while firing. This thing is fast

You thumb your radio to all channels as you run, hoping James or C45513 or someone will help, "SEAL THE LOBBY!" You shout into the transciever, "Creature sighted. It's..." You huff as you take the stairs four at a time, "Black chitin, quick, bipedal, strong. Trying to take one of us alive."

You reach the top of the stairs ahead of Jess and run into the hall where you should smell accelerant and smoke. But in the corridor intead, the creature is a blur of motion as it disapears seemingly into the wall. On it's escape, you only really see a long and bladed tail as it snakes impossibly around a pile of shredded meat.

Martin.

You stop at the body and aim both your weapons at the air vent the monster just escaped into, "Jess!" You shout.

"Tracker is pinging it heading South. Nearest main vent exit is in the lobby." You zone out from her speech as she continues commentating. Norm arely makes it to your position before the lobby quarentine bulkheads lock it down.

"Ah Shit buddy." He says as he sees Martin's fate.

"Bravo circulate this intel, Hunter have suffered a casualty and one operative has been taken hostage. Creature has a tail, bladed. Black Chitin, fast, strong and stealthy. Last known position is-"

You aim high, trusting your squad to cover the hall conventionally. The pinging continues to rise in pitch reaching a deafening crescendo,

A vent bursts open in the opposite wall from where the first beast escaped, and a second creature clings to the wall with a hissing scream moving in a black blur. Two powerful back legs push it onto the ceiling before you can even open fire as it's strange smoothed shellhead unsettles you in some primal way.

The gatling gun cries out in a torrent of metal whilst you unleash plasma shotguns at it, your first shots are ineffective due to the creature's unnatural and efficient dodging - scarpering abour as if it contained no bones or structure whatsoever. An unfamiliar fear settles in behind your eyes until Norm claims the beast's arm with his first barrage and a spray of green erupts from it's stump to the chorus of ever permeating pinging from the motion tracker.

It bleeds. You can kill it.

It slows allowing you to land two solid shots, throwing the beast off the cieling of the the hallway. It slumps to the floor in a broken heap as green blood pools around it. The ground beneath the monster sizzles as it is eaten by the creature's blood.

"No movement." Jess reports as the pinging blisffuly ends.

"Hostile down." Norm says over the radio so Bravo and Charlie can here.

"But one or more hostiles remain." You consel over the frequency, "Stay frosty."

There is no response from Bravo or Charlie. Whilst you prepare for the worst, you don'tthink both squads would have been taken silently. You sigh and vent your guns, sliding in new power cores. You're back up to 10 shots in each once more.

We will be switching perspective regardless of this vote, this detemrines what action Hunter takes while automated

"Sending in your family." Henson confirms hitting a few buttons.

"You wound me." You say as four little feet scatter into the room and the rat climbs onto the bed where man and woman are sitting.

[THE VIRGIN] squeals as the rat scurries onto her lap, swatting it away with two hands and retreating onto the bed.

[THE WHORE] reaches out quickly and catches the furry rodent in gentle grasp. "Hey little guy." He scracthes him gently, "Let me take you outside."

"What, why are you touching that thing?" The church girl screamed.

"You said you trusted me to show you new things." X chides, "Well not every rat is as bad as he looks." He says with a wink before heading off.

"Our [FOOL] boxer is out for a run with [ATHLETE]" Henson reports. "Bad news is I think our monster is nearby."[/]

Hey guys heading to bed, in college tomorrow.

Hope the split perspective thing isn't too much of a departure, it was the only way I could think of to deal with this disaster.

Remember <Pic Related> give me feedback, here discord or twatter.

> demo, be spooky
I don't think a little rain is going to bother Muhammad Alisa

>>1062448
Thanks for running. The perspective switch was fine but controlling security was a bit frustrating when we are supposed to be doing tactical planning without enough information.
>>
>>1062464

Partly intentional partly incompetant.

They didn't know what they wree up against or anything at all.

BUT

I hadn't prepared for this or anything like it, stuff like a map or overall strategy was formed about when you guys rolled a 17 on diaster chart. So I am 55% sorry about that.

Sorry my dude. Sick trips though right

(Write-In) Henson can you arrange for a lightning storm to roll in? Strong winds, pelting rain, and a chorus of thunder?

Also, did I miss something, or has the ritual monster not been revealed to us yet?
>>
Ritual monster is known to James but not anons due to the timing of perspective switch.
>>

I really hope it was the Oni.

Hell I'm hoping the Xeno gets out of the facility, into the Cabin area, and we have ourselves a good ol' Monster Throwdown.
>>
>>1064173
We should open all the doors to the cabin area to make it an easy run for it.

"Henson, we need them inside, give me a storm." You ask straining your eyes into the foliage shown on screen, searching for the glowing red eyes telltale of your beast.

[THE ATHLETE] and [THE FOOL] jog shoulder to shoulder, neither giving an inch despite both being covered in a sheen of ice cold sweat and their lungs gasping for air as surely as the humans are.

"It's going to take a bit." Henson says hammering away at his console.

"Do what you can." You say as you chew on a pen in frustration.

??? ???????? Activates

[THE ATHLETE] stops, glancing to each side. "Hey Lisa. Let's head back." He says slowly and calmly. He's trying not to show the monster he's noticed it.

"Hah.Hah. Phew. Knew all that mass was slowing you down." She teases punching him in the arm. Their trip in the spooky cellar evidently bonded them far more than [THE WHORE] expected.

"Yeah. Guess I'm just a wimp." He replies with a nervous chuckle.

Lisa squints, "Okay what's the catch James?" She asks.

A pair of red eyes lock gazes with the blonde man and he does his best to ignore the unnatural hatred boring into his body and soul. "Nothin. Come on let's go." He tries to let go of her arm and she shrugs him off turning to see what he's trying to look at.

A hulking figure, redder than crimson and twice as ominous purposefully steps forth. Dragging a mighty and staggeringly large kanabo studded with obsidian. It churns through the lush underbrush hungrily as the creature advances. It's not-quite-skin not-quite-armour seeming to drink in the light from the artificial stars and moon.

James takes a step back as the eight foot mass of muscle and hatred squares it's shoulders and rises to it's full height before the duo. The Kanabo comes up and rests on it's shoulder with the impact of two freight trains colliding, but the shoulder shows no indicaiton of impact.

This motion reveals the impossibly thin katanas resting on it's hip in silver-white scabbards. Six clawed toes dig into the dirt as it takes a cobat stance before the two teenagers.

Will of Fire Activates

"The hell is this thing?" James mutters to himself. "Lisa we have to run!" He rpleads in a desperate shouted order.

It falls on death ears as [THE FOOL] bounces on the balls of her feet and raises her fists, she looks over her shoulder back at James; "What, you think a big stick and a few hundred pounds will make me pussy out?" Lisa grins in what looks like excitement, averting her gaze from the giant monster and locking eyes with the giant human, "Who the Hell do you think I am?" She demands as the sky is split by lightning and rain begins to pour from the sky in an impressive cinematic display.

"Well, we might fail but it looks cool." You think.

Can we do something to James? Maybe if she is too stupid to feel fear her protective instincts will kick in if her friend is in trouble.
> get a tree to grab James?

>>1064798
What is this supposed to achieve?
>>
>>1064798
Are you trying to kill them?

We need to kill the whore first, otherwise the world ends.
>>
>>1064728
Oh this is easy. Cause tree to fall between Oni and Fool, that gives us a long enough pause for the Athlete to grab her and make a run for it.

Oh and do it inconspicuous, like the lightning hit the tree or something.
>>
>>1064728
We wouldn't happen to have any soybeans or monkeys around would we? Oni are weak to those.

>>1064728

"Okay, we have a Evil manifestation of dishonour and hatred in one corner and a teenage boxing prdogy in the other." You sigh as [THE FOOL] prepares to do battle, "Fuck this, I choose Lightning."

Henson is on the same wavelength and suddenly lightning strikes a tree, causing it to tumble between the two in a fit of flaming carnage. It strikes the ground, sending fire into the sky and embers to dance along the wet night's air.

[THE ATHLETE] promptly grapples his friend into a full nelson and then up into a fireman's carry. He promptly flees as [THE FOOL] complainsand curses his cowardice.

But she suddenly stops and pales as she sees The Oni crush the tree trunk underfoot with ease. It strides amongst the inferno as easily as it were a slight breeze, moving with slow inevitably as it's imposing figure marches on like a Terminator until his massive frame fills your monitor like the cover of a metal album.

If there is any way to make the whore all sceptical or argumentative so that the two who saw the oni tell him to go outside and check for himself, that would be nice.

Doing some reading of Oni...

It isn't helping, there are a lot of permutations on the Oni myth...

One myth suggests that throwing peas or beans at an Oni can blind it...

Another claims that the source of an Oni's strength is his horns and that if you cut them off the Oni become practically powerless...

Yet another claims that Oni become completely shitfaced if they consume pickled Japanese plums...

...

>>1065030

> (Write-in) "Hey Henson, are you familiar with that weird meteorological phenomena in which flightless animals rain from the sky?" *Response* "Well, would we be able to have peas and plums rain down on the Oni, specifically and only on the Oni?" *Responce* "Well, while you are figuring that out, use lightning to drop a few more tree in its path."
