We should start moving deeper into the ground, rather than building up. The earth can be our shelter, and we can use deep aquifers as a means of infiltrating other farms, and maybe even the colony itself.

We should also be sure to give our future Warriors, Hunters, and Heavy Warriors protection from fire. It'll also make living underground a little easier.

We've already got a small herd. All we have to do is expand on that, let the herd grow, and only cull the old, sick and weak. And if we continue to raid the colony's farms and ranches, we'll have more than enough beef there to support our budding Hive.

As for the dogs, I doubt Tiny would allow them anywhere near the hive. We'll just catch wild ones or human pets when we want to hatch more runners.

It's very unlikely that there were /two/ hidden egg chambers, kept hidden for probably centuries. If there was another growing Hive somewhere on the Hive, we would have to be careful. They might fight us over the rights to the cows. And even if we could establish peaceful communication with them, there's still be the problem of who is the top Queen.

You know that Queens are berserker tier angry and violent to other Queens, right? Usually they just kill each other and move on, rarely they beat the shit out of each other and rule over the weaker queens.

There's a drug made from Xeno Royal Jelly called "Xeno-zip" and various other chemicals that people can use to get swole, unfortunately it makes any Xenos that meet the people who take it to go totally fuckass mad and kill them at least five times harder than they need to, to the point of brutally mutilating the corpse into mush.

I guess the only reason Queens sometimes beat each other into submission and not into paste is because Queens are much smarter than the lesser Xenos they command.

Thinking about it, the previous queen here has probably been dead for a long time since it was some random chucklefuck who found Grimalkin's egg and not a marine or scientist. Or it was Predators on a hunt to get some status.

I'm getting the feeling that what these xenomorphs are perceiving as "giant flying beasts" are actually just aircrafts/spacecrafts but who knows. Maybe in this unknown planet there are such creatures here.

As a group you advance forward up the mountainside, twitch doing his nervous best to look tantalizing while you and Bob follow at a short distance. The first eagle swoops down toward twitch who squeaks in terror as a Bob spits a glob of high speed resin over his head. It impacts the Foul natured bird in the chest and spreads to his wings from the impact. The eagles majestic dive turns into a awkward flop as he bounces to a stop at your feet. THIS is what nearly tore twitch in half? Ugh hes helpless without you. You spit a large glob of resin onto the flailing bird and idly roll him to thoroughly coat him before you stick him onto your side. You cant return with just one so you direct twitch to look tasty and continue on.

A barrage of indignant squaks accompanies you as you make your way back down the mountain. 7 large eagles stuck to your back and sides. Twitch is pointedly ignoring you as you remind him that he is in fact bigger than all of them.

Bob somehow manages to look both aloof and indignant at the same time. It was HIS skill that allowed these beasts to be captured

Thanks for running you champ. This is great for a first attempt at running quests. My only personal gripes are with the hug-piles and stuff but that's personal preference, you aren't writing poorly and others seem to enjoy it so c'est la vie.

P.s due to some excellent fortune I'll be moving house this week so Pred Quest may have to wait a little longer. I'd say a week from now. Usually I wouldn't mention this sort of thing in someone elses quest but you seemed interested.

Twitch is curled expectantly at the hive entrance, somehow looking bored AND hyperactive. You set off from the Hive and head west, Toward Abel farms, the miles of desert and scrub brush falling away as you race each other through the fading light.

You crest the final ridge that overlooks the sprawling abandoned farm. Twitch curls next to you, the last time he was here he assisted your glorious queen in its capture. You jab him with your tail and hiss. Just because he helped capture it doesn't mean he can sit this out damn it!

You lope down the hill, inspecting the farm yard and barns. No traces of your hives resin or tracks remain. The pens and lots are broken but that seems more like panicked livestock than anything else to your eyes. Twitch climbs on top of the farmhouse roof and points with his tail proudly at the spot where he eviscerated a unlucky farmhand. Scavengers have cleaned every scrap of the mans flesh and torn organs. The vehicles are quite obviously damaged, tires and engines shredded and reduced to scrap.

You enter the house cautiously and watch the Vermin who have infested the house scatter. Theyve trashed every inch of the house and devoured most traces of Grimalkins resin

Suddenly a sharp flash of alarm reaches you from Twitch. A pair of lights and a dust cloud are headed toward the farm down the long dirt road. You have company

On one hand I want to let them go but that is something that may cause security to come in force here before the hive is ready.

On the other hand having a few more bodies is always nice but their disapearance may force the same security to send search and rescue teams looking for them.

If we can learn to use their radio/phones we could call off any attempt to come up there with some bullshit that we, passing for Steve and O'Neil, are following tracts into the forest and that we'll report soon. This could give us a few more days to prepare a bigger ambush.

We don't even have to move the Queen. The Hive entrance is disguised, and as long as our drones watching the cows were hidden, there's no outside evidence of Xenomorphs.

All they know is some soldier, high off his kite, found a haunted house and his buddy got lost.

Eliminating the main forces of the local Col-Sec would be awesome, but we still need a lot more Xenos.

So, on one hand, we can take both if these terrified idiots back to the Hive as hosts. Or, we can let one escape, and take the other back. OR we can let Steve escape, and snap O'Neil's neck to make it look like he fell. Maybe position his body at the bottom of some stairs or something?

Twitch would grin in pleasure if he could as Officer Steve draws his sidearm and fires several rounds into the distance screaming his partners name in terror and anguish

We're risking having 3 differents armies going down on us if things gets real.

The Colonial Marines because they'll be the one the colonist calls first.
Weyland Yutani because they'll tap into the Marines network, and Weyland will do about just anything to get their hands on xenos.
And the most dangerous group of all, the Preds, if they catch the distress signal that a hive is on a planet that they sent someone to clear out a hive and that now have human settlers on it.

At best the Marines and WeYu will duke it out while we pick stragglers from both side. But if the Preds get there at the same time?

Officer Steve is an ashen faced wreck of a man. His uniform soaked with sweat and piss he squeezes off the rest of his clip in the vague direction O'Neil had been taken by some.... demon.

He screams into the darkness "What are you!?!?! Where is O'Neil!?!?!"

A rasping cackle from somewhere in the abandoned farm causes his balls to draw into his belly and sweat to feel like beads of ice

"Come... and.... see..... Come... And.... seee..... COME.... AND .... SEEEEEEEEEE" the hellish shriek grows in volume and repeats over and over as the horrified officers mind begins to shatter. He leaps into his patrol car and speeds out the drive in reverse, demolishing tThe Abel familiy's mailboz on his way out.
His only thought is to get away from this nightmare and off this damned rock.

For Tiny, he could be a mix between a Praetorian and a Warrior, with sturdy armor and a strong offense. Though he still might need to gorge some before he'll be ready to mutate again.

As for Ox, I think he could do with a pair of Mighty Tusks (basically a bonus to charge attacks and dealing with tanks, walls and buildings) and a roar strong enough to break glass and stun or deafen unprotected humans. So, y'know, just imagine a Xeno T-Rex with elephant tusks.
