Veraga Prime was still buzzing about the rare sighting of the Dauntless, a ship that many considered nothing more than a legend if they had heard of it at all. With Buddy and Eigha busy in discussions with the Wraithborn Cartel, Clud and some of the Necrolytes that'd gone with them as security had wandered the busy market districts learning all they could of the ship at the demi-Think Tanks insistence. At first all they could gather was that it appeared occasionally, passing through populated systems only stopping to to refuel and rearm itself at naval bases before disappearing as soon as it had come.

Clud and a netu Legionnaire were sitting in a netu focused cafe talking with former pirate netu that had "retired" after their ship was captured by Confederate ships. They sipped at a traditional netu drink brewed from plants saved from their homeworlds before the wraith extinction and listened to one of the old pirates say they'd heard of the Dauntless in their youth. The Clanship Captian of her childhood spoke of how an undead plague had risen up on some distant trading world several sectors away at the edge of Confederate space. The Clan had been attempting to take advantage of the chaos to raid fleeing ships or salvage from abandoned cities. But the Dauntless had appeared and driven them off the pirates then deploying ground troops to rescue survivors from the doomed world. Before the last of the pirates had left the Dauntless had begun orbital bombardments with its accompanying fleet to reduce the formerly grand cities to fields of molten glass.

Clud and the other Necrolyte glanced at each other then the Reconstructed watching passively as it floated near them. The stories continue with the other Netu, tales saying the Dauntless was captained by a single person even after all these years. Some of them said they were a cyborg, their race unable to be agreed upon. Others said they were one of the rare immortal races that existed through the galaxy. A few suggested they were themselves undead, either loyal or enslaved to the Confederation. The Legionnaire joked that the ship had no captain was alive itself only to see the others shrug and say that was also a rumor.

Elsewhere on the heavily populated world Buddy and Eigha depart from their meeting with the Wraithborn Cartel. They both sigh heavily in relief, the human starting to laugh out of nervousness when they enter the automated sky-cab to bring them back to their ship. They carried with them a datapad with their first orders from the cartel. Nearly all of their cargo of Narcotikelp and drop-kelp, hastily named after it's world of origin, and then they were to wait a few days to see how the product moves through legal and illicit markets.

The reach of the Armada extends ever further.

Unlocked:
Itru genetics: The native intelligent species of Calera, calling themselves the Itru, are a stout and hardy race. Tripodal omnivores they move using the knuckles of their forelimbs, using their singular blunt foot to hop, stand, and run with. Their heads are dominated by a large conical blunt beak that opens into three sections with a secondary set of jaws within for tearing at food and forming the rapid clicking of their language. Naturally resistant to Necrotic corruption they are also attuned to the Void with a natural affinity for becoming host to the Voidflame.

>Itru can now be cloned
>Voidbone weaponry and tech gains a slight boost

Caleran Lifeform Samples: The planet of Calera was once a vibrant world of rich abundance and life. Yet it has been under the sway of necrotic energies and pollution for millennia after a fragment of the Wormstar's corpse was scattered across the galaxy and crashlanded on the lush planet, slowly corrupting it over the ages. This was process was then accelerated after the lost Necrotic Armada fleet was drawn to the shard and used its power to enslave the planet and then the wider system. Such prolonged exposure to large amounts of Necrotic energy has warped the living beings of this world.

>Numerous Caleran lifeforms can be cloned

>Necrotic Resistance: Gene sequences are studied and refined from across multiple organisms and species to provide a genetic resistance to necrotic corruption. Cloned beings and modified organisms such as crops or livestock have an increased resistance to ambient necrotic energy. Previously made supplements to aid in necrotic resistance are enhanced but still require a constant intake.

>Necrotic resistant plant samples: Of potential interest to the Armatocere certain flora species show signs of developing necrotic resistance

>Unit upgrade: Stalkers - Their tails are now able to function as a third limb, a trio of powerful clawed digits allowing it to make stronger melee attacks or use their tails to hang from. Can equip a small-sized weapon in exchange for a weaker melee attack.

>Pharyngeal Jaws: From the outside a units mouth and teeth appear larger than average, concealing complex secondary set of vicious jaws within. These secondary jaws are able to move independent of the main jaws and are used to increased the power and damage of a bite attack. Units able to equip: Trolls, Stalkers, Manglers, Drakes, Devils

>Bioship Upgrade: Gnashing Beak has its effectiveness increased
>>
>>1015723
sup grave, how you been? i've been thinking of starting up a civ again..with a twist if you will...

also back to red ghoul when? if ever?
>>
>>1015747
>Unit Created:
Devils: Large Reconstructed frame that stood 3 meters high when on the ground with an 8 meter wingspan. With a tripodal body-plan, their front two limbs are long wings can fold up to walk on. The wings extend down to the third limb that acts as a leg and rudder in the air. An aerodynamic head with a wicked beak at its front guides the eyeless undead. Extremely maneuverable it is able to outperform most other atmospheric fighters to make up for its lack in pure speed while also sporting decent armor. Able to mount a pair of heavy weapons over its shoulders it also sports twin-linked medium guns under its chin. Cost: 80B 70M

>Large Reconstructed weapon:
Elemental Breath: Misleadingly named this weapon allows large reconstructed to emit powerful blasts from their mouths. Defaulting to Necrotic energy elementally charged Reconstructed are able to change the energy type.

>Volcanic Biomass Farms: By utilizing a mix of techniques and lifeforms from multiple volcanic ecosystems biomass farms can be created in volcanic environments. Requiring a source of chemical heavy water, typically found in the form of volcanic springs and geysers, these biomass farms use chitin slugs, caveworms, fields of fungal-lichen and a variety of other organisms to produce a consistent amount of harvestable biomass.

Deep in the core of a battleship Jor shouted out in indignant pain as a "Medical" Reconstructed worked at repairing the damage the Necromancer had sustained in his trial. Jor lay in a reclined seat as the undead caretaker, a complexity of bone and metal limbs surrounding a cycloptic eye reached down from the ceiling on an articulated limb. The "infirmary" was tucked away in a sideroom connected to the main cauldron chamber where troops and weapons were constructed or repaired as needed.

It used the vast array of medical tools that its limbs ended in to stitch his wounds, peal back then slice away burned and necrotic skin, setting bones, injecting medicine and painkillers. The Reconstructed had offered anesthesia to knock him out for the surgery but he had refused, not wanting to die unaware if something went wrong. Large needles were injected into his arms and side of his neck, a local anesthetic derived from the stonestars chitin-slugs making him numb to their intrusion. They were linked by cables to a device constructed around a Glutton Sphere helping safely siphon the overdose of Necrotic energy the man had exposed himself to by filtering his blood through it while replacing his lost blood with pints of his own cloned blood.

The stump of his right arm ached with a pain as if the limb was still there instead of shorn and capped with a layer of temporary cloned flesh. Other patches of the off-color skin were being laid across his cleaned wounds, the technique borrowed from the Pirates that typically used specially prepared patches as battlefield dressings to treat wounds and burns.

You could see as you watched that his skin, once a healthy brown, was now becoming a dark gray almost like a corpses. His veins, ruptured by the might of necrotic energy he'd wielded and drained, stood out black against his skin like roads on a map. His remaining hand and forearm was blackened as if by frostbite. His hair, that which had not completely fallen out after the battle, had been shaved so the medic could tend to their patient. Where once Jor had been rather fat his body was so thin he looked malnourished, hiding his change from the other living under his robes. His skin clung to his bones and his skull, his face contorted in a pained grimace not noticing your presence at the doorway yet.

You'd seen what happened to Necromancers of the old Armada, most growing twisted and further mutated as they aged and grew in power. They were deformed avatars of the power Necrotic and you had expected Jor to follow similarly but it was still too early to tell how grotesque he may become. The bones of his body had slowly begun to shift away from the common human template but without the wanton chaos of the old necromancers or the modern Blackscale.

Finally the human looks up and sees you looming in the doorway and cracks a smile, nodding toward you, "Lord Jadyk. I believe I passed the trial," he says with a small laugh that contorts into a pained grimace.
>>
>>1015820
Here's a question, could jadyk use his abilities to reverse or at least limit the effects of this necrotic overdose on Jor? I remember he brought not back from the dead once before when he was shot by osijic early in the quest, and between our increased skill at manipulating energies something like that would be easier for us now. Doubly so now that we have access to medical technology and the means to clone and replace dead tissue. Plus it would be funny that jadyk had to pull Jor back from the grave again, after him digging up undead and getting more than he bargained for, again.
>>
I'd prefer it it Jor DIDN'T become a hunchbacked saliva goblin. Pail, bald and thin sure. A few minor things like weird eyes or such things, but not a load of useless mutations.
>>
>>1015820
Approaching where Jor reclined you stood off to the side out of the way of the medical construct. You nod proudly as you look down at your apprentice and liberator, "You believe correctly. The tomb is open and a Cauldron delivered for the process to begin," you chuckle and Jor gives you a confused look, "This makes two liches you have freed. You have a talent for this work."

Jor groans and closes his eyes but you could feel the amusement through the empathic link of the shard, "Oh wouldn't my parent's be proud," he says sarcastically but smiles, "I'm glad I was able to help though," he glances at the stump of his arm and his frown returns.

You motion vaguely to the missing limb, "I am sure we can clone you a replacement easily enough," you begin to say but Jor shakes his head.

"No, I think I'll get a prosthetic like Rosa," it took a moment for you realize he meant one of the Commanders officers, a berserker woman who had an arm of a Talon to replace the cheap mechanical limb she'd once had, "Maybe get the siblings to design it for me," he says mentioning the pair of sibling vorh that were Jor's fellow necromancers with a talent for shaping the Reconstructed.

Bidding the human well you depart to allow him to heal, the reconstructed steadily continuing its task of repairing the damage he'd sustained. The true danger was the overdose of necrotic energy he'd consumed, the delicate process of easing him back to safe levels handled by the device siphoning both power and blood from his body. Before you left you looked at his Reaver staff and saw that somehow Jor had overwhelmed it's safety protocols in place to avoid the very situation he'd brought upon himself. Whether or not this was a flaw would have to be fixed with his and the other necromancers tools or if Jor had done it himself through force of will, was unknown to you and it made you clack your jaw in concern.

also is it really that slow?i pop in from time to time but i see nothing interesting usually...
i really do want to try my hand at it again but not if it will be ignored lol

We should give Jor a replacement cybernetic weaponised limb or alternatively, a plant limb for reasons...

As a Coffin descends to Clour, taking you to Ruscuv's vault you cast your mind across the Armada.

You watch the B'Nan system under attack, the last of the Osjiic and Ahkam ships forced back to Kanda hounded by Muic and her attack fleet. Lorgul and his Disciples dock with larger ships to help with the containment of captured Voidsingers. You watch as Agona sets up temporary bases on the gas giants moons and send raiding parties to capture the fuel refineries from stubborn Ahkam defenders left behind.

Already back in the Horizon's Drop system Nekris and Vle'Karak and transported together to the moon and the Arc temple until the Rukorian moon temple could be finished. Vle'Karak was still unconscious as he was imprisoned separate from the other Ahkam as Talons tend to his wounds. Nekris laid himself down in a glass and bone chamber, holding his severed limbs in his still attached hands, his half collapsed skull resting back. He let out a sigh of relief as if sinking to a warm bath as the fluids of a Cauldron quickly fill the glass chambler and begins to repair the damage.

Loot:
>85,000M
>9,000B

Researchable items:
>Arc-Armor: Medium
>Ahkam Hardlight Shield: Fast

Captured ships:
Osjiic:
>1 Battleships
>2 Destroyers
>3 Battlecruisers
>6 Heavy Cruisers
>8 Light Cruisers
>15 Frigates
>14 Corvettes

Ahkam:
>2 Battleships

>6 Light Cruisers
>15 Frigates
>15 Corvettes

Captives:
>2 Epikor Arc-Elites
>6 Voidsingers
>720 Ahkam soldiers
>460 Osjiic soldiers

After the capture of Vle'Karak many of the Ahkam ships cut off their fighting and retreated from the system, not willing to risk any other serpents being captured.

This lead to many of the Ahkam still fighting to prevent the tide of undead from taking their ships to surrender when the news spread. Bloat Carriers full of prisoners began ferrying them back to Horizon's Drop and the prison ships waiting for them.

Corpses of all races are dragged out of captured ships or plucked from the vacuum of space, melted down in large Cauldrons as the ships begin replacing their lost crews with the recycled biomass

No Not an immortal, at least not the monster looking kind

The point is that jor is the LIVING face of the new armada, he is our primary ambassador, our apprentice, and our second in command.
In order for him to do all of that effectively he needs to not be a reconstructed, he needs to be very much alive and to look like he is. He can be modified and augmented yes but only in subtle was that won't make him look less human.

I think we should tell him this, I understand if he wants a reconstructed arm but it would have to look like the one in >>1016304 otherwise he would look to grim and ugly to be a good ambassador and public face
>>
Rolled 5 - 1 (1d9 - 1)

Rolling to determine how many of our original 8 Talon survive.
>>
>>1016453
I don't know the arm would be assumed to be part of the armour and he could always use it as a symbol of how the living and the necrotic can live together

Besides grave mentioned last thread we could make skin suit things to cover immortals and make them look more living

Unless we want immortals to look like the apostles from berserk monstrous with a human face hanging out somewhere
>>
>>1016473
What?
Do you mean the 8 from the beginning of the quest? Did we have 8 then? I thought we started with 1 from the dead miner
>>1016353
I don't think they know much of keeping humans alive, they are an empire of plants. And they have very little ability with dealing with necrotic energy
>>
Cant wait till we can talk with the Netu elders and terraform their old planets. It would really sell the whole "guardian's of life and death" shtick thing we've got going.
>>
>>1016484
But if we make him an impartial, using the method we have, which is replacing part of the body with reconstructed bit by bit until it's completely reconstructed. Would make jor not alive in the mortal sence. He is the ying to our yang, we are undead he is living. Breaking that will have moral and narrative impact
>>
>>1016503
Anon, the armatocere are the faction we gained the cloning and medical pod tech from. They are about as skilled at putting living flesh and bone together as we are at reconstructing the dead. Pretty sure they'd at least be able to show us a fee things.
>>
>>1016518
Also if our necromancers looks like monsters then the living citizens might not trust them as much and will be less likely to sign up to be one because who wants to look freaky
>>
>>1016371
You had left your throne behind when you entered Ruscuvs vault, floating along next to a hovering cargo transport carrying tanks of raw biomass for her reanimation and looked around at the murals and designs carved into the stone walls. With the trial finished the doors to the deeper tomb were held open wide and you descend into the darkness.

The grand chamber that Jor had faced the trial was illuminated revealing the collection of Reconstructed soldiers standing motionless and powerless waiting for their time to awaken. The slab of stone that Ruscuvs petrified form was fused with stood in the center of the chamber, the Caretaker standing at the edge of the loaned Cauldron chanting in Wormtongue as they prepared the mixture for her revival.

It looked up at you when you approached and it's cruel grin widens before it gives a low bow, "Hail! Lich-Lord Jadyk of the Wormstar! Ruscuv's plans did not include your survival and interference. I am sure she will be...delighted," the construct draws out the last word before looking down at the mass of biomass churning before him as a tank was hefted up by trolls and the contents poured into the mix.

Do you have any questions for the Caretaker?
>>
Hohohoho, gonna have to make sure Ruscov understands the pecking order and the agenda: we are in charge, not her and definitely not Aka'tor(in case she gets any funny ideas). Also our goal in soverighnty of the galaxy, not galactic genocide. We need to make damn sure she understands these two things or else she will do something stupid like betraying us or scouring a world because they called us "monsters" or "n00bs".

Why nosferatu? If you don't mind me asking.
Jor is our ambassador, statesman, public face, apprentice, second in command, head necromancer, and probably a few other jobs as will (we have been keeping him busy) all the jobs that require charisma and public appearances would take a hit to effectiveness if he looks like ghoul
Pic related would work better in my opinion. But your the QM so it's up to you
>>
All I ment was based upon the Caretaker's reaction, she might have been looking forward to being her own boss. Either way WHEN she reanimates then we can ease her into the new way of things. As for the caretaker, I'd like to know its view point(or what it knows of its master's)on the destruction of the Old Armada.
>>
>>1016708
If I remember we where ahead of her in the chain of command in the old armada, that and all our fancy new powers should keep her in line but if we help reconstruct her we might be able to put enough of our influence into her
>>
>>1016740
Yup. Its' just that people get funny ideas when the status quo changes, and while she is reanimating herself in our cauldron, its still her doing the reanimating so she shouldn't be undyingly loyal.
>>
>>1016614
What do you know of my demise

Why did your lady decide to hide away

What do you know of what happened to the wormstar

>>
>>1016704
Power comes with a price

Necromancers rot just something we have to deal with, we have a method of stabilizing them as immortals otherwise they have to either mutate and rot or find replacement parts to graft and add like this the nameless Voidknight is working to usurp
>>
>>1016614
You watch the Caretaker in silence as it progresses through the rituals to reanimate Ruscuv. Finally you speak as you dip a hand into the Cauldron mix idly, the Caretaker shooting a quick glare at the intrusion, "Tell me Caretaker. How did the war progress after my defeat?"

"I was created before Lord Ruscuvs plan to go into hiding here, my purpose to watch over and bring her back when the time is right. I do not know much about the War, only that the Wormstar was dead and so were you among many others. I know the names of possible Wormstar dedicated undead that might have gained entrance here and which to trust," it turns it's multitude of glass-like eyes toward you, "You were mentioned yes, your influence guiding some Necromancers or cultists. She did not expect to see you full and whole after the Crystal Wasps stole your phylactery."

Flicking the cauldron fluids from your talons you nod, "I am still unsure how I survived that myself," you say with a shrug, "She will be in for a surprise then. I myself did not expect to find another of the Wormstar's Liches in hiding."

The Caretaker nods as it stirs the pot of bubbling biomass with the same blades it had removed Jor's arm with, "From what I know, she was among the last still free and not taken by the true death when she enacted his plan. Another two or three millennia and I was to attempt awakening her if no one arrived. This is much more convenient," it says cheerfully as another delivery of biomass was placed to the side.

"I shall send you assistance to help speed up the process," the Caretaker started to protest but it falters when it feels a sudden pressure on its skull as you lightly clench your fist, "I insist," you say firmly.

It's permanent grin falters for a moment then nods, "Of course, Lord Jadyk," it agrees and turns back to its work, its mood visibly sullen.

A twitch and one of its glassy eyes implodes and it looks up in startled surprise. You release your telekinetic grip and point a claw at it, "I expect my servants to come back to me whole. I did not appreciate you maiming my First Necromancer. Had you asked I am sure would have gladly offered the sacrifice willingly or we would have gotten you a surrogate. You, and Ruscuv, will learn that my new Necrotic Armada function differently from the old. I will make sure it is known," you relax and the Caretaker realizes it had been held immobile by your will, "Now, I wish you good luck in resurrecting Sister Ruscuv. I have missed her company," you say cheerfully and turn to depart.

You pause before you leave and point a finger at the fallen Reconstructed that Jor had battled, pushed off to the side, "I will be taking those as a prize for Jor's success."

The Caretaker could only nod and allow the truly dead constructs to be loaded up onto the hover-platforms that had transported the biomass and cauldron.

Valresko looks over the maps and data displayed before him, showing the ongoing efforts of the B'Nan invasion force. He was in the battleship he'd claimed for himself with Sur-Quro standing off to the side observing.

Predator Eiton reports that the orbital guns they'd taken over were still believed to be in Osjiic control, Necrolytes and zombie Osjiic helping project the illusion but he was certain they'd be called upon to defend the planet from the new invaders.

Pushed back to Kanda the Osjiic were digging in deep, their remaining ships holding orbit over their two cities and prepared for an attack. Tanks, walkers and other war machines rolled out to protect the factory-cities that had produced them. Many lacked finishing touches or polish but they were certain to receive adequate field testing.

The Ahkam controlled city was in chaos from what could be gathered, slaves starting to revolt against their new captors as Ahkam troops are unsure of how to proceed after the capture of Vle'Karak and their abandonment by the fleets.

Muic's fleet held back from attacking the planet just yet, waiting for Lorgul and his ships to leave the asteroid belt group up. They turn to Valresko, awaiting for his plans for the ground invasion.

How shall the Armada attempt to take Kanda?
>Remnants of the Osjiic fleet are in orbit protecting the two remaining cities under their control.
>Eiton and his forces secretly control four anti-orbital weapons outside the Osjiic cities
>The Ahkam controlled city is in anarchy as the invaders fall to panic over their abandonment, slaves and osjiic pow's attempting to fight back and regain their city

Have all fleets converge in a way to make the osjic fleets group into the line of fire on the guns. Then pincer them. Afterwards have troops drop down to support the guns.
>>
>>1017044
Try to sneak in as many troops as possible, probably stealth based ones. Then attack the cities with our most durable units in front. Then once the defenders can least risk letting their bombardments stop, attack from the rear. At that point have our fast units rush them, thereby giving our heavy hitters more time to reach the walls and mob them

Kind of hard to do considering their size and usual locations. My idea in regards to the Akham is to send the predators to sow resentment among the slave races of this dynasty of Akham so that when, and only when, our forces are ready, they can revolt with our support. No more then the head snake in this area. We are probably not even close to ready for more let alone mamma snek cause when she goes to war, the whole family probably comes along too.

At Valreskos command Lorgul and Jareth launched their Void-Terrors forward with the Armada fleet toward the world of Kanda. Kinetic rounds and missiles streak across the void, taking several minutes before they struck the Osjiic fleets and moments later the Armada ships are struck by their return fire.

The fleets exchanged long-distance blows, smaller sub-capitols shooting down or intercepting the most devastating of attacks against each other. The Voidknights and the flights of Nails and Gunships clash against the outer defenses of the blocking fleets and their fighters, dancing in deadly duels as they dodged the continuous fire of the two fleets.

An Osjiic battleship lists then cracks apart as a focused barrage of kinetic rounds from multiple Armadan battleships smashed into it. Explosions started to blossom along the hull, its great engines flickering then erupting. Gravity started to pull it down to Kanda, its hull glowing as escape pods launched from its sides in large numbers.

The Osjiic were not ready to give up their world just yet though, their fleet meeting the Armadan ships with a fury that would make the Stonestar proud. They drove several of their wounded ships to collide with Necrotic ships, launching their weapon salvos with point-blank blasts or overloading their reactors in attempts to take them both out. Valresko was mildly surprised as a trio of Void-Nova missiles leaps from the remaining battleships and they collide with the wave of corvettes and frigates at the forefront of the Armada fleet. The massive explosions of Void energy shatter and ruin the sub-capitols, their reactors adding to the fury of the detonations. Several Osjiic ships too slow or damaged to retreat are caught in the blast as well, their hulls fractured and torn apart by the gravity warping weapons.

Yet as the attacks dissipate the rest of the Armadan fleet lead by Muic barges through the wreckage, their shields glowing bright and cracking as scrap and bone strike them. Seeing the larger fleet unfazed by the powerful attacks the Osjiic forces seemed uncertain before they started to fall back closer to the planet hounded by the Voidknights and their powerful ships.

Predator Eiton was watching intently from both the Osjiic screens inside the compounds and the holoscreens projected by a demi-Think Tank. He was somewhat impressed with the Osjiic's tenacity but he turns his attention towards the alerts sent from the Osjiic cities. Chuckling in dark amusement he listens to the imperials commands for focusing on the approaching Necrotic Armada fleet when they came into range, glad they were able to get the name correct at least. He has his zombified osjiic confirm the orders and waited.

The sky of Kanda flashed with the explosions of ships and missiles just outside of its atmosphere. Broken ships began to rain down, glowing bright as they streaked across the sky in balls of fire. The Osjiic fleet hunkers in, refusing to budge as the Armada ships close in and finally clash in brutal close-range duels. And at first it seemed like they would hold. Despite the overwhelming numbers of Armadan ships they held their ground, fighting even as ships went down around them in great explosions or fell towards the planet below.

Lost among the chaos were several stealthed sub-capitols, avoiding the mass of fighting as they attempted to bring their troops to the planets surface. Valresko lets out a small sigh of disappointment as atmospheric fighters and anti-air emplacements seemed to detect several of their number and attacked to intercept them. Several were shot down but most managed to make it to the surface, hiding among the multitude of canyons and strip-mines that dotted the landscape around the cities. Hearses, Chariots and Battletombs rolled out of the carriers, gargoyles and scourges taking to the air as they began to establish a beachhead in preparation for the proper ground invasion.

The osjiic messages started to pour in to the compounds, calling urgently for fire support from the massive guns. Eiton calmly reassures the Osjiic all is well even as the building sized weapons swivel and rotate, aiming skyward. The generators at the base of the weapons charge up, gravity and light distorting subtly throughout the compound until Eiton finally gave the command.

A gargoyle that had been watching from a far off distance spots what looked like stark beams of unlight leaping from the compounds and reaching into the sky to disappear into the upper atmosphere. Above in the battles Lorguls laughter washes over the airwaves as a solid beam of voidlight pierces through the hull of an osjiic battleship, another lancing through a void destroyer. Another battleship, unharmed from the conflict so far and holding back, is struck but the beam deflects violently off its shield moments before it shattered and the lance grazes across its prow making the metal warp and glow in its passing. The unexpected attack threw the Osjiic fleets into anarchy as the confusion spread like a virus through the remaining ships that started to scatter, exposing themselves to the encroaching necrotic fleet.

The compounds rumble and shake with the discharges, their lights dimming noticeably for several moments until the generators recharged. Chaotic messages started to pour in to the compounds demanding to know the meaning of the missed attacks but Eiton just orders communications to be shut off and his troops to ready themselves for retaliation.

Predator Eiton ordered another volley of attacks even as troop carriers and dropships departed from the city centers to reclaim the compounds set kilometers away from them.

Seated on your Throne you cast your mind out across your Armada, flitting from Reconstructed to Reconstructed.

You look through a Talon and watch for a moment as it stood in the Colosseum among a crowd of the living cheering and shouting. A pair of Tyrre battled claw to claw with several Trolls, the broken bodies of Talons already littering the floor. Tyrre blood splashes on the dirt and the armor of the Trolls as the aliens raged against them in joyous fury. Teeth and claws slash and gore. The gladiator fights were to conclude soon, the races about to begin as more of Iti'a'Ropku's population filters in.

Through a Stinger you see Sapling Slrrt conversing with it's demi-Think Tank assistant as it requests a special blend of chemicals needed to help turn invigorate the soil of their "embassy". The strange moss-like growth that spread out like a carpet from the bases of the treeships were actually breaking down the dense stone of the mountain, grinding it down and converting it into soil for the floral ambassador and its retinue.

And then you were a Cyclops hidden among the machinery of an anti-orbital gun on Kanda, flesh a dappled black and gray to blend in with the shadows. Hover tanks approach at the head of a great cloud of dust, carriers rumbling along on great wheels behind them as they came to retake the compounds. Below you in the courtyard Reconstructed rush back and forth, leaping up onto battlements of the walls that surrounded the compound. Zombified Osjiic grip their weapons and wait, swaying at the tops of the walls, reanimated by Eiton in a last moment bid to enhance their numbers. Movement draws your gaze and a moment later the Cyclops' body jerks with the recoil of the spinecaster and an aerial drone careens to the ground and smashes into the rocks below.

You are briefly one of the Think Tanks sent to assist the Caretaker and assure the mote of influence you'd dripped into the Cauldron took root. The vault of Ruscuv started to expand, additional tunnels and ancient lifts opening up to begin transporting the multitude of Reconstructed soldiers for reanimating. Above where multiple rock faces rumbled open in hidden exits small bases are already being constructed, a large reserve of necrotically charged biomass waiting to refuel Ruscuvs sleeping army. You see the Caretaker glance at the other spheres of metal and glass then commanding them sharply in how they can assist. It jerks a crooked claw at you and barks a command.

Returning to yourself you drum your fingers across the armrest of your throne, the clacking silent in the void. Perched on the prow of a Battleship you look down at Clour where Ruscuv's tomb was being industrialized. Kyn'tk slithers across your free hand like some serpent of impossibly twisted and knotted metal.

The Armada was extending so quickly and your attention was often needed elsewhere. You trusted your generals to follow Valresko's plans and to succeed in their campaign but there were times where diplomatic attention was needed while you were busy elsewhere. You were glad you had Jor and that he proved himself as the ambassador of the Armada but he was but one man and you were unsure of how he'd feel about cloning himself. So who wants to whip up a design/stats for it?
>>
I don't know about stats, but as for aesthetics, it would have to seem non-threatening and important. so probably human looking since most species are humanoid, tall and sturdy enough in case we want a show of power like crushing something.
>>
>>1020378
Something like the WoW Qiraji prophets maybe?
>>
>>1020435
A bit too insectoid but the stoles that the wear would look great on our "speaker".
>>
>>1020378
I'm working on the stealth fleet still. I'm being a nerd and trying ALL the things.
>>
We want it to be sturdy, intimidating, humanoid but capable of defending itself

So maybe it should be designed to look like Jor in his armour but without the robes and give it some durability with metal sheathed bones

Thinking Talon sized
>>
So something humanoid, regal and impressive but able to protect itself if needed.

Do we want this to be a powerful telekinetic like a specialized form of Dirge or do we want to give it different elemental cores for the inevitable times it might have to enter combat?

One of the next things I do is I need to make a proper template for reconstructed so we can give them adaptations and mods and weapons
>>
>>102061telekenetic would be preferable since if a government tried to study our "ambassador" it wouldn't be so bad if they learned a bit of that instead of how to manipulate different energies without being born with it. That is one of our specialties.
>>
>>1020626
making it telekinetic comes with the crystal growths that trap the Dirges in place
>>
>>1020618
Telekinesis always comes in handy, and if we can elementally attune it, let's go with necrotic. It's our default element and the one Jor uses, and he's the guy who will be using these things.

>>1020639
A floating and frozen ambassador might not be good. In some ways it would look regal and mysterious but at the table of diplomacy it would look a tad silly.

After returning to the Charnel Vault you seal yourself away in the cauldron chamber and begin your work. Plunging your hands into the broth of chemicals and liquid biomass you spin protein strands and weave liquid metal into new shapes.

Kyn'tk slithers down your arms and into the churning black liquid as it assists you in building your new ambassador. It had been a while since you were able to create new Reconstructed, that simple joy of shaping and molding raw matter into a new form of undead welling up.

In time you step back from the Cauldron and wring your hands free of lingering droplets that congeal and harden into flecks of fat, bone, or chitin on the ground. A shapes pulls itself from the liquid and slides out of the mass then rises to stand before you.

Humanoid it rivaled your height at seven feet tall standing rigidly upright. It's head was similar to a Talons but purposely less vicious looking, it's eyeless visage giving the subtle appearance of a human skull similar to your own. It's body was dense, bones wreathed in metal weaves, it's chitin exoskeleton graceful but sturdy. A pair of arms hang loosely at its sides, slots for forearm mounted weapons or defenses waiting for their equipment, another pair wrapped tightly around the torso deceptively. Nodules of black bone dot it's surface, the emitters of it's anti-grav field allowing it to mimic your own weightless motions. You planned to give it robes similar to your own or those worn by the Necromancers or armor designed like the Legionnaires depending on which faction received your new Reconstructed diplomat.

>Harbinger
>7' tall
>Humanoid
>Anti-Grav Harness
>Metal-Sheathed Bones
>Bestial Strength
>Hardlight Shield
>Can equip light or medium weapons

You leave the design open ended, allowing multiples to be constructed for the situation. Each one could be given either a Necrotic, Arc, or Void energy source, their weapons switching to the appropriate element. Should the need arise you were confident in the Harbingers abilities in combat though you hoped it's future diplomatic encounters were mostly peaceful.

You clack your teeth in consideration for a moment then nod. A circlet of dreamstone is crafted for the Harbinger, it's surface polished like obsidian and glinting as the light catches the runes etched tightly across it's surface. It hovers in place, just above the Harbingers head like a mockery of a halo.

Satisfied with your latest creation you wave it off, letting it wait for it's robes to be woven in preparation for the diplomatic mission you were about to send it off on. A message from Jor reminded you earlier of the meeting with the Pirate Clans the very next day in one of their secretive controlled systems. Then you remembered that you had promised to search the Armatocere for elemental wielding hopefuls.

In the B'Nan system on board Punisher Muic's Pyroclastic Destroyer its Cauldron starts to churn and soon another Harbinger emerges, it's body plated in elaborate armor, a design lifted from the works of the sibling necromancers. You send a brief message to Valresko of the latest development and he approves of the undead, stating it would work nicely as your Herald.

Another thought resurfaces and you turn back to the Cauldron once more.

Recreate the Chitin Choir?
>Y/N?

These are non-combatant units, chitin and bone statues used to sign the hymns and glories of the Armada. The Choir would begin to appear within Iti'a'Ropku and other Necrotic settlements, traveling on warships and transports. It does not take long to craft the physical designs of the Choir, chitin statues shaped like frozen Talons and Stingers. You send a brief mental message through the Think Tanks to the Necromancers to create new designs for them according to their aesthetic choices. The hard part was creating their core, that special organ that listened for the whispers of the dead gods.

With the help of the Deep Rot you manage to create a mental database of proper hymns for the Choir to sing. You suspect Ruscuv would be of assistance in expanding their library but for now it would do.

In Iti'a'Ropku the Necromancers receive their tasks and the vorh siblings happily take a break from their telekinetic exercises, weights of various sizes and density falling to the ground. Their demi-Think Tanks project holograms and the pair quickly begin molding the images which react like clay to their touch.

Soon, across Necrotic territory Cauldrons churn and begin producing the first of the newly reformed Chitin Choir.

In a vaguely scientific way Domination Spikes when injected into a host integrate with their nervous system. This allows them to trigger pain responses in their host and allows them to detect their emotional state and if they are telling blatant lies. When in proximity of Dreamstone it amplifies the effects and allows a simple recording of the dreams. It also allows a Think Tank to quickly assimilate new languages. This also has a benefit for the host in that it can serve as a translator so a human can talk to a stonestar without issue. This really helps out the Legionnaires in battle and training.

A Think Tank or other "control" Reconstructed like the Generals are able to bend them to their will. For rules sake a Think Tank can control the spikes of those on the same planet but the more it has to keep track the less control they have. The fact that all ships have a Think Tank in them, including the Eyegores, means that rarely are Spiked hosts out of your range. Even Buddy's crew has a demi-Think Tank and an Eyegore in orbit to keep track of them.

Eiton has been toying with an idea to weaponize the Spikes, using something like a nail gun that rapidly injects the spikes into a target upon contact.

>Eiton has been toying with an idea to weaponize the Spikes, using something like a nail gun that rapidly injects the spikes into a target upon contact.
Sounds pretty damn cool

Since we're talking about it, and I know it's at least partly based on how we vote on it, but what would Jadyk think of using the Wormstar fragments to boost his own power, essentially resurrecting his God as himself?

Guys i have an idea

I don't know the logistics but bear with me

What if we made a unit, crit crawler sized
Give it the jump pack,a way to latch onto soldiars, a adrenaline gland, and a way to inject soldiars with adrenaline

Give this to the living to directly connect them to the deep rot, give them a jump pack, and inject them with adrenaline when needed

Theirs probably a ton of other stuff that can be added to it but this all i can think of for now

Is there any way we could absorb energy via the domination spike or a tech line we could follow to use it. It could be useful in an emergency, say if we are fighting an ancient wraith bitch and we want to do a reenactment of the spirit bomb...
>>
>>1022500
>they'll never stop drinking

God damn it. Lol. Danke
>>
>>1022641
Well, I can think of one way we can do something like that. But it would require us to research a few things
First a modification or addition to the power draining crystals so that they or a crystal attached to them can store the energy they absorb long term and can a power user can absorb the energy in them later

Next we need to use hyperspace or some variant of FTL tech to teleport or at least quickly move the crystal battery's without the need of a ship, but instead through the use of a device small enough to have on our person, our thrown, or with the cargo itself

That way in times of emergency we can tap into mass energy reserves
>>
>>1022852
If we did do it though, it would have to be an utterly private matter. The equivalent to HQ's psionic cannon in that if our current long term foe finds out about, they will bring down the hammer immediately. That means no generals,Voidsinger commander or Jor helping us. Maybe not even the Deep Rot because we don't know how good the wraiths are at spying. And even then we don't know if the Masked could find out and what they would do if they did. They stole our first Immortals so who knows what they would think of this project.

Very basically:

Pirates: Think this is one of the best places where they could serve out their slave-debt they'd heard of. Can either be a Necrolyte or a civilian and do whatever the fuck you want

Osjiic Imperials: Most love the Legion since they can still fight and be warriors. Some are liking the opportunity to do something other than fight or be engineers for the first time in their lives

Horizon's Drop Colonists: as Buddy put it, "It's better than being a miner or a rancher." Most are enjoying their new government since the Confederation didn't really give a hoot about them to begin with and can now live in leisure without the worries that come from being a frontier colony

Ahkam vassals: They're pretty mixed bag here. Many went and are going through a crisis of faith after seeing the Ahkam repeatedly fail to fight back against the Armada, especially after seeing two males (one of which is a living legend) and a juvenile female get captured. Not to mention how the Armada was able to injure and drive off a full grown Matriarch. The once devoted have either fallen into depression or have jumped whole-heartedly into the Armada way of life, either living in Iti'a'Ropku or by joining the Legion. There were quite a few who didn't really like the Ahkam to begin with so they're rather happy to be here.

Stonestar heretics: The Stonestar living under the city have slowly begun to accept their life under Armada rule and are grateful to Jadyk for giving them a second chance when the Lavafather devoted stonestar would've executed them. They're getting more bold, walking on the surface and interacting with other races or volunteering for the Legion.

UON: The newest "recruits" to the Armada they're still learning how to be proper citizens, most of them still imprisoned while a few have already started adjusting.

Confederates: Those that came from Station 88 and Clour are a little bitter to be captured by the Armada and taken from their home so soon after being subjugated by the Osjiic. They're starting to realize it's a better fate than becoming slaves to the Empire, though.

>cont
>>
>>1027328
Blackscale: They're absolutely loving it. They're finally starting to work on real projects without a lot less fear of the Sunscale coming for them.

Ructu: While there are only a few living in Iti'a'Ropku so far the general feeling on Rukor is that the Armada is a blessing. Being freed from the Ahkam, given aid during their famine, defended against the serpents retaliation, and then seeing Jadyk tame the Beast, those that were more inclined to worshipping the Ahkam are starting to shift their devotion to Jadyk with Nekris getting praise as well. Most Ructu are still devout atheists (as much as one can be in a galaxy with literal gods) they know they'd be in a lot worse of a position if it wasn't for the Armada's help.

Itru: While only a handful have been rescued and freed by the Disciple on Calera so far, they're quickly warming up to the teachings of the new Armada in place of the oppression of the Council.

Netu pirates are fucking cool dudes, I hope we can establish diplomatic relations with their clan. Although I do worry that doing so will prevent us from 'recruiting' any more Pirates into the Armada, but I guess we'll cross that bridge when we come to it.

Incidentally could you tell us a bit about Vel'Ka...Carl's reputation among his peers and followers? You don't generally get a nickname like 'Terror' from your subordinates by being laid back leader.

>>
>>1027368
That would be bad,but I do think adding new hymns would be good. Several would be about us but not on the level of the Wormstar but as a new hope. They can also tell tales of the Quest, such as the successes of our Orders and of our feats of heroism.

I was thinking of void infused troll unit designed to battle Sunscale and other solar users, the voidknights and their disciples are great but we have so few of them. I was thinking we could use a void troll as an alternative of sorts to our shock troops, and could be churned out in mass. I'd like to know more about the elemental breath weapons and how medium sized units could be elementally attuned before putting together an actual design though.

I knew I was forgetting something!

Osogo: Another herd is nearing the city guided by Dreamstones and a Gargoyle while the sister Alphas to Red-Leaf-Strains have gone out to spread the word of the City to other herds like their sister Plainsrunners, the Foggy Swampwalkers, and the Tidefollowers. The ones that came with Red-Leaf-Strains have stayed mostly down near the old colony which is growing into a small town itself. Red-Leaf-Strains has adapted quicker than the others, the calfs and juvenile Osogo also acclimating easier than most of the adults and elders. Many of the younger ones will travel to Iti'a'Ropku during the day and spend time with the other living beings there then travel back at night to their quarters in large barn-like buildings. Some are even entering into classes taught by living civilians or Think Tanks ranging from language lessons to engineering to sciences. The youth find the new life exciting and enthralling while their parents and the elders are suffering a bit of culture shock although they are grateful of their ease of life now. Even down on the plains where Red-Leaf-Strains herd came from the winters are hard and brutal.

>>1027427
Interrogations of Ahkam captives and test-runs of the new Mental Reading pods have revealed that Vle'Karak is actually older than the Matriarch Qutanc'vrix you encountered in the Urdir system when the Ahkam and Osjiic were tricked into battle. He is something of an "uncle" to her, once a mate of the old Matriarch and a widower, the father of the neighboring Matriarch of the Quntanc dynasty. He was sent to help secure the sector after the repeated losses against both the Osjiic and Necrotic Armada. He is an old and very grumpy snake, taking their frustrations out on their servants at the slightest mishap. Rumor says he feeds mostly on servants that have displeased him but he rarely devours a sentient being, preferring vast amounts of fish that agree with his aging diet.

>>1027472
I was actually going to address that soon.

The Elemental powered Generals are capable of creating Reconstructed that are infused with their abilities but it takes their personal attention. The Predators unlocked the key to mass-producing them with the creation of the Arc Condensers. Void and Necrotic cores can theoretically be crafted now and possibly even Solar.

Research gained:
>Elemental Cores: Medium

The breath weapon though only works with large reconstructed. With regular Reconstructed they wouldn't be able to generate enough energy for it. Now Lorgul has used their elemental abilities to produce a breath attack before and Agona has shown the ability to hock up loogies of molten stone but that's more of an Obsidianborn trick.

>>1027484
The Lavafather, Obisidianborn, and Punisher abilities don't really translate into elemental energy types.

It's more or less a very specialized form of geokinesis focused around manipulating molten stone. It's sorta like Avatar's Lavabending without the dancing

I Had an idea on what to do in this regards, We integrate the Chitinchoir into the armada fleets to do their thing, but we also integrate them around the city, almost like Gargoyles on old church's so they are a constant, background noise subtly singing the praises of the wormstar, Jaydk and his commanders.

But then we also have a large garden of Remembrance, where it will be filled with the chitin choir and murals depicting the undead commanders doing their achievement but all around them will be chitin choir dedicated to the Living minions and their endeavor's and achievements, especially those who die in its service so that they can be remembered and praised by the populace. Like say their is a mural about the capture of station 88, surrounding the mural will be Chitin Choir singing praises to all the Legionares who died during its capture. Almost like its retelling the story of the event. lest we forget and all that. A somber air but one of hope of a galaxy free of [other peoples] Tyranny

It can also act as an impromptu grave yard as we don't waste any biomass it gives those who have lost someone a place to go and remember those who have gone before.

>>
>>1028640
An entire ocean might be a bit extreme for us at at the moment, but i believe we did discuss the option of starting with hollowed out asteroids, and then eventually moons
>>
>>1028647
That's all well and good but most importantly we need a clever name for such a construct. Cauldron just won't do it
>>
>>1028789
Well i got the idea for the cauldron world when we met the sunscale, i was like you know what would piss them off, and prove them wrong? a world where the entire ecosystem is undead, cauldron oceans and lakes, random reconstructed running around and eating eachother and undead plantlife. if the sunscale found a world like that i can only imagine the sheer Butthurt.
>>
>>1028982
The problem is that it night get them SO butthurt that they send the whole flotilla.Remember guys, the Confederacy,Osjic and Akham are the largest GALACTIC states. While that dosent mean that they each control a third of it, it does mean they have a lot more forces then the ones we have seen in this sector. We can be at war with them but only because they are at war with each other. If one of them gave us their undivided attention(like the Head Matriarch of the Akham).We.Would.Lose.We are not ready for that yet.So leave the ultra heresy and any Matriarch slaying until we are sure that our foes will only send what we can handle
>>
>>1028585
Oh jesus think of the amount of kelp that would produce. A fucking PLANETOID made of kelp.

Fuckin ya.

>>1029265
>The problem is that it night get them SO butthurt that they send the whole flotilla.
Well, that would save us the trouble of hunting them down. As a matter of fact this might just be the best idea for a trap for the sunscale I've heard of yet. We should put together a society of our cloned sunscale and blackscales on this planet with them living in joyous harmony and praise for the wormstar, just to really rub it in their orthodox cousin's faces.
>>
>>1029336
That is a horrible idea. The only sunscales we have faced have been Nekris against a hunting party and he lost a hand(though he should be a lot more experienced now)and the other time it was just one fleet. We don't know what unique weapons the sunscales have and we still haven't encountered that one elite caste of sunscales, the one that is the Father of the Solar's hate. And we just entered a war with two factions that if they were not in constant war with eachother would destroy us.We do not want to be the Sunscales Great White Whale until we have a few more planets.Because of this we should be hesitant about rounding up the other remnants of the Old Armada immediately. We should do it spaced out so that we are not the sole subject of their wrath.
>>
>>1029355
It was a long term proposal. Obviously we're not in any state to engage in a war of total annihilation of the sunscale right now, but eventually we're going to have to meet the flotilla in battle. Better that it happens on our terms when it happens.
>>
>>1029479
I agree.Walking on egg shells until
1.We reclaim enough of the fragments of the Old Armada that we feel will cause them to attack us soon anyway
or
2.Once we are strong enough(relatively),after we have fought another battle against them we should use the initiative to press turn the skirmish into an all out war.
>>
>>1029355
Don't you think finding a world of naturally evolving undead would be beautiful though? Where every creature only survives because they were never alive enough to die? where the trees are large spires of bone and flesh, the oceans giant fuming pools of black tar that heal all the creatures that bathe in it. The creatures themselves Like reconstructed but more primal. I imagine for members of the armada Necromancers especially that visiting such a world would be a Holy/divine experience hell there is that giant star of necrotic power we could use to fuel the transformation
>>
>>1029516
I can imagine it now
>"Hey masked hold my beer and watch this"
>>
>>1029516
Eventually this would be a great idea, though it should still be a rare occurrence because we are guardians of life and death which means stopping life from killing itself and stopping uncontrollable death from killing life, however it should be a late game Wonder because of the resources required and because(as already mentioned)we will INSTANTLY become the Sunscales "White Whale" and stop at nothing to kill us.Once we can hold them off then we can give it a go.
>>
>>1029556
Well this quest has got me thinking the undead in it aren't really evil so much as Alien, Reviled and hated by much of the galaxy for the way they subsist and function. being perfect Psychopaths i can see why they decided to genocide/enslave all life

alright you yucklechucks, time to get this time working and I need your help since I am retarded when it comes to maths and QD is indisposed.

Stealing HQQ's resource system here
(Biomass stat + structures) * 1k * dev score + modifiers = Biomass income total
(Metal stat + structures) * 1k * dev score + modifiers = Metal income total

Let's start with Horizon's Drop as an example

Horizon's Drop
>60B
>60M
>30% Developed

Biomass Farms give: 30B
Solar Farms give: 5B
Mining Facilities give: 40M

So without adding in modifiers it would end up being something like

Horizon's Drop
(60 + 35) * 1k * 30 = 2,850,000B Daily
(60 + 40) * 1k * 30 = 3,000,000M Daily

I really have no idea what I'm doing

>>
>>1029858
Sorry. This resource shit has been a problem for a long time.

Mostly I want to make it so there is still somewhat of a challenge in the quest. With gaining so much I'm afraid all problems will be solved by just flooding a planet or system with infinite ships and reconstructed
>>
>>1029886
too be fair, Thats kinda how Russia won its part of a war.
>>
>>1029886
You could try to factor in enemy ships from out of this sector. That way if we get too stronk too soon, you can amp up the difficulty by having more enemy troops come in to reinforce this sector.
>>

That really. to me explains why you wanted to create the undead new testament. did you read through all the archives?. Some of your posts suggest you read the first 20-30 threads while others don't, not trying to be an ass with this, but as polite as i try to be online there is no polite way to ask that
>>
>>1029748
Graves, if using HQQ's resource system stresses you out, why are you using it? It works for that quest okay by if it's giving you grief why don't you just alter it to suit this quest and your style of QMing?
>>
>>1029998
Im a read a lot of quests but I focus on more of the characters, lore and current events instead of the heavy crunch.I still read bits of crunch here and there but I prefer to leave it to others.I tried to come out of my comfort zone but I guess I should just stick to talking about what to talk about.Any way you weren't being an ass,you were just pointing out my (heavy) shortcomings.
>>
>>1030014
Cause using it was easier than coming up with my own.

It's not the system that stresses me out, it's resources in general lol

>>1029748
The thing is, I'm realizing that using this system means that we'd be raking in more resources than before the hiatus if we actually added in all the other planets/asteroid belts that are being used

The Bastion system

Rukor:

Protoplanet
>0B
>70M
>70% Development

Bastions sister moon
>0B
>90M

>70B
>0M
>30% developed

Andai System:

Clour
>15B

Station 88
Still need to figure out bonuses that space-cities give to resources but Station 88 is dedicated to metal mining and refining

Probably gonna have to dedicate a separate pastebin to keeping these all together instead of letting it clutter up the opening posts
>>
>>1030121
It looks like you have it figured out already? Have we changed the prices of ships and vehicles yet?
>>
>>1030121
Introduce up keep fees as a % off the income and it increases the % by how developed the planet is

Then there's fleet maintenance and troop maintenance where it's negligible when at planetary base minimum but increases as the fleets are swollen in preparation for invasion or defense

Perhaps you can also set it so when invaded by an enemy fleet production of resources is reduced etc
>>
>>1030171

Meh, that basically renders the advantages of being an Undead Polity meaningless, most of our Fleets are self-maintaining and can exist indefinitely if left on their own.
>>
>>1030171
That is even more math which we don't want
>>
>>1030121
>>1029748
Probably gonna have to change the formula a bit since HD alone is producing as much as all of them did prehiatus

(Biomass stat + structures) * 500 * dev score + modifiers = Biomass income total
(Metal stat + structures) * 500 * dev score + modifiers = Metal income total

with that HD only produces 1,425,000B daily and that's a little better I guess

See with our main income allowing up to build necrotic style ships going up against say, the crystals or Sunscales we suffer heavy loses. And as mentioned above if we did spam a location with infinite waves, I am fairly certain that faction will consider us enemy number one and bring to bear their full might against us.

For this I suggest we try and, Ally or start opening negotiations with the Confederates play the game of smile to each others faces while we use spies and drugs to subvert their worlds to our will with necrokelp etc.

Meanwhile we can try to farm the osjiic and Arkham for more arc and Void users/hero's. while trying to take their outlying systems, need to figure out a way to keep them from allying against us with a short term truce, I suggest we use more decoy attacks against them to keep their hatred burning high against one another.

Another random idea [please don't hate me for this grave]
Hell I think we should start a void and necromancer farm, this might seem a bit heavy handed, but we should build some cloning facilities designed to spam Itru and Ructu while using the necrotic warping effect to give them unique DNA, then we scan the clones for potentials and either, put the rest into the legion, the city, or dump them back into the cauldrons for base materials.

If i remember 4 cloning facilities produce, 2000 clones every 4 days, with say a 2% chance of potential energy users among them that's 40 new disciples every 4 days. That is not including any increased percentage we might get for void users among the itru and Nercotic wielders among the Ructu.

That along side the Grayscale project that might supply us with a steady stream of Solar uses as well. Wonder what the success rate for an immortal solar user would be
>>
>>1031862
We could clone them, but they would be blank slates or at best soldiers imprinted with the bare essentials. They would essentially be reconstructed. So we could either use the biomass to make more reconstructed whose instincts atomatically make them useful killing machines or we clone living organisms and hope we can install the basics into them.It sounds more like we should prioritize making energy manipulating reconstructed instead of cloning.
>>
I've been mulling around the idea of possibly sneaking a cauldron and some looms/stalkers onto enemy ships and having them bring the undead back to their population centers so we can have splinter cells of troops causing havoc all around.
>>
>>1031108
I was doing the math and HD produces enough Biomass and Metal to begin construction of 150 battleships per day, as it produces 1,425,000B and 1,500,000M.
(60+35) * 500 * 30 + 0 = 1,425,000 /4,000 (Cost of battleship) >150
(60+40) * 500 * 30 + 0 = 1,500,000/10,000 (Cost of battleship) = 150

Seeing as Battleships are our largest non Flagship ship (Note that we could begin construction of 2 of these per day if we had 40,000 more M) I think it would even be reasonable to change the 500 in the equation to 125.
An example of the new Metal output of Horizon's Drop
(60+40) * 125 * 30 + 0 = 375,000
That is still 37 battleships and I would understand lowering it even more because that is twice the number of enemy battleships in the battle of Kanda.

I also crunched some more numbers and the total of all enemy ships in resources at the battle of Kanda (Not counting fighters and gunships) came out to be 378,900b and 788,000m.
Using the * 500 example we could double what The Ahkam and Osijic had in Kanda in a day using just Horizon's Drop (Not counting construction times).
With the 125 model it would take us 2 days of just using Horizon's drop (Not counting construction times) to match the enemy forces.

I would like to add that I don't know how strong you want our places to be, so feel free to tweak the numbers as you wish.

Thank you all for reading my math, feel free to point out any flaws.

I understand that we are doing this to balance the game, but given our methods we should have ridiculously high production rate

Other factions need to smelt ore, we don't, we throw the rock into a cauldron and all the metal is taken out and made into ingots, very fast

Other factions need factorys that build things part by part. We don't, we just pull it out of cauldrons

What I propose is that cauldrons actively feed off the life energy of the worlds they are on, that way we can keep production as it is but it has a cost, and if we move all refining and manufacturing to already lifeless world the cauldrons would need regular sacrifices of life energy to function.

If regular sacrifices of life energy is made to a cauldron on a living world it can delay the life draining effects
>>
>>1032243
Now I know doing this might impede out good relationship with the living but I'm sure we can find a way.

And I suggested the draining of life energy specifically because any other nerf would be counteracted eventually, if the cauldrons or cow things produce some kind of plant killing toxin we would make self contained locations for them
If our metal and biomass production is reduced we will just build more
But with the draining of life being a constant for the cauldrons we will have to use them wisely and sparingly, yes research might decrease the drain but it will never removed it
And the change can be explained in setting as the masked fucking with us or it was happening all along and we didn't notice it tell now
>>
I'm going to see how much we produce as a total, for both 500 and 125 based on >>1030121

>>1032252
I certainly see how that could work, but at this point we are just pitching ideas to Graves to see if he likes any of them. I'm perfectly fine if he decides to make a soul cost for the cauldron use.
>>
One problem with the draining of life energy thing, is that it kinda puts a massive damper on our whole be nice to the living things and actually embrace both life and unlife.

Unless we go FULL PRACTICAL EVIL and create millions of clones in order to slake the cauldrons need for life energy
>>
>>1032262
I have mathed the numbers and come up with a total for each of the planets listed here (>>1030121) for the 500 and 125 choices.
Total of all resources produced not including Horizon's Drop: 500 - 2,150,000B 9,775,000M 125 - 537,500B 2,443,750M
With Horizon's Drop: 500 - 3,575,000B 11,275,000M 125 - 895,750B 2,818,750M

With these numbers we could produce 223 battleships a day with the 125 system and 895 a day with the 500 system.

Do keep in mind that I counted the Lavafather's moon in the calculations.

>>1032268
It didn't need to be intelligent life, it would be a new kind of thing to farm.
Intelligent life would be more effective but cattle should work if we mass farm them
But the entire point is to make things hard. To live in peace with life is to pick the hard path, that is why so few have done it and why we are so... Interesting
>>
>>1032304
Well if you want to fuck with numbers calculate this

If every normal sized cauldron needs the life energy of 1 cow each week to function and larger cauldron need more.
And if each cow needs one acer of grass land (or its equivalent in kelp production)

How many cows and kelp or farmland will we need a week to maintain current production?

Now there are a lot of unspecified variables so take an educated guess for each
>>
>>1032362
Just a quick reference number the US has under 90 million head of cattle and the total world pop is 1.4 Billion head. With those numbers... I get what >>1032243 is saying, but if it's just life energy then all we really need to do is spend a shitload of biomass cloning animals and feeding them.
>>
>>1032372
Then what is it was a cow every day or every hour?
Or what if it needs to be intelligent life that has experienced life. A clone won't do any better than a cow and a cloned cow won't do much at all
It's the memories of life, the knowledge gained through living.
Life = Knowledge = power = energy
So where oh where will the people come from? We are too new to use our own in willing sacrifice, if we use prisoners of war then we are hypocrites and no better than our enemies
So what if we use life energy already stolen?
There are factions that use necrotic, what if we sacrifice a captured wraith? How long would that fule a cauldron
>>
>>1032389
Well if that is the case of experience being needed then we'd want to immediately begin creating massive "cattle" farms, over time they'll gain experience and become sacrificable, it'll essentially just be replicating what we do with lumber farms. Plant a grove that we will harvest in 20 years and plant every single year for 20 years and in 20 years you'll have a fresh lumber crop.

Obviously things would work differently with animals and people but it works about the same. Unfortunately if it had to be intelligent life then shits going to just grind to a halt, we can't be all life loving and continuously sacrifice millions to fuel the cauldrons, especially considering we're recruiting most of our POWs.

But as far as
>Then what is it was a cow every day or every hour?
It's just a matter of production levels, create more cows. We'll have problems in the short term, but once some time has passed it'll be glossed over as it has been pretty much forever surmounted.

Basically... adding life force just adds a new resource to be balanced and only further complicates the system without actually solving the problem.
>>
>>1032389
Catoblepas consume a 'great' amount of plant life so I'm just guessing that it is 10 times more than what a cow would eat. Based on that we would need 1 kelp vat for every 5.7 cows.

Catoblepas make 35B in flesh, so I assume that they eat 35B worth of kelp/plants. If cows eat a 10th of that they eat 3.5B in plants per day.
Kelp vats create 20B per day of kelp

So 20/3.5 = 5.7

From looking shit up, it takes about 3 years from pregnancy to fertility for a cow, or 153 weeks. We would need a rotation of 1/3 or more of the population giving birth every year to maintain a stable number of cows.

On that rotation we would need a starter population of over 4 times the number needed to sacrifice every 3 years.
We have 150 cauldrons.

153 (weeks of sacrifice) * 150 (# of cauldrons) *4 (enough years of cows to keep a stable population) = 91,800 cows

91,800 cows / 5.7 cows to kelp vats = 16,106 kelp vats.
or 612 cows to cauldron.
or 108 kelp vats to cauldron.

The 3.5B to cow may seem a bit small, but considering a talon costs 5B, I think it's safe to assume that cows don't eat 150lbs of plant matter every day.
>>
>>1032399
True it does add a new resource and we don't want that.
But my biggest problem with gimping our production is that it makes no sence in setting.
The easy acquisition and production of resources and units is the single biggest benefit of being an undead faction. If we remove that we are just another bunch of asshats dreaming of conquest.
The easy production is what out entire style and civilization is built off, it is what lets our citizens live in comfort and splendor. It's what lets us wage war against empires when we only have a handful of planets. It's the backbone of everything we do.
And if we gimp it we loose what makes us us.

I goet that something needs to happen because the old system was killing grave and that we need to balance the game.
But I think that the balance should be that we are a very small right now in a very big pond, and the bigger we get the more unified everyone else will be in fighting us and the more they will turn to higher powers for help.
We are legion for we are many, but our enemies are many, much, and more
>>
>>1032424
I'm in agreement desu. I don't like the idea is us being limited like that either. It either results in us losing the key aspect/benefit of being an undead race or forces us to take actions that ate at odds with the previous tone, that is mass harvesting of life energy to facilitate or constructing. This is a problem when we've actually been trying to be low friendly
>>
>>1032569
Well I've been thinking of various possible nerfs that would balance the game without taking away a key aspect of our faction

Free will: for some reason, perhaps it's the constant exposure to the living they picked it up. They can now disobey

Another idea is we keep all our ability to gather material and production but the enemy is now starting to see us more as a threat, focusing more on us than other factions and eventually teaming up to kill us. This would have happened eventually but I would rather it be sooner if it lets us keep our production

And last and least (please don't do this)
Betrayal. The plant guys that we like so much stab us in the fucking back

Having said that it doesn't really matter as being undead we are kind of an escalation race the more enemies we face the more resources we gain back after each battle that we then trow into the next combat it's what makes te undead effective fast recovery after battles and victory meaning we gain a larger force then when we actually went into combat

I have an idea. Just like in some 4X games, the more advanced we are,the quicker other civs advance. Some examples could be the Confederacy figuring out how to produce some stuff from the Alliance days or the Akham find a few new OP slave races or the Osjic discover Ghul's stach of LARPing gear.Even the masked might interfere more by bringing a primitive race onto the galactic stage. We don't have the be the only race that catches a lucky break or steals other 's tech, just the best by a bit.
>>
Right now our major strength is our ability to mass produce entire armies in mere days

I just think that we havn't seen our enemys main strength yet.

We haven't met all of the arkhams slave races or the super strong voidsingers

We've barely had contact with the sunscales and we only now just started to meet the confeds

They all probably have a lot of tricks up there sleeve

A ramping difficulty is probably that best way to handle this

I agree. After all they are galactic forces(apparently)so they wouldn't bring all of their forces to bear on a relatively slight undead resurgence.

Looking at the work folks have done for the resources and I'm impressed.

Also made me realize that yes, the Armada is a faction of undead meant to overrun opposition since the fact they're untiring and the more dead they make means the more troops they have is what makes them a threat.

I've been kinda thinking of them as a regular faction where a single battleship is an immense cost of resources and man-power. This was kind of a wake-up call on that aspect, thanks folks.

So how bout those Red Throat Ghouls

This quest is usually run one day in game per thread while Ghoul Quest was supposed to be multiple days per thread since it started out as a Civ

I just need to finally finish up the tech trees and it'd be ready. time to lurk in other civs to steal their ideas I guess. Or get SlowCM to make me one like he did the first time lol

which is why I haven't written up the ground invasion of Kanda yet. The events of this thread took up the whole in-game day since space battles can be either super brief or drag out if there are enough combatants
