The sound of wind howling echoes throughout the onyx building as an unending storm rages on outside in the desolate badlands. You sit at a long table reading within a dimly lit library. The book is fairly boring and dry as is the rest of this forsaken abyss. You look around the library watching little imps flutter around as they steadily come in and out to finish some task or duty to appease the whims of some demon higher in the chain or the Primals themselves. With a solid thud you close the tome and place it down as you absently stare into a nearby fireplace.

You sigh as you think about your less than fortunate luck as of late. This library was once yours and this castle was once under your iron will but the title of lord is long past gone and now boredom sets in and ebbs away at your mind. The days, weeks, months, years pass by begrudgingly slowly as you wait for something to do. The once demon lord of a Primal Evil is now just a bored greater demon. You look around the library in search of something until your glowing eyes rest upon an imp that is fluttering toward you.

"Hey big boss, fun place heres. Readings eh? Looks likes you gots a summonings here, yous be going to eh Terra 'cause some mortals be wanting to talk." The imp spews out hastily and the flutters off saying, "bets be going for them mortals then eh boss."

A wicked smile graces your face as you stand up and almost all your bones let out small yet satisfying cracks as you haven't moved around in sometime. You take the summon and make your way towards the summoning pits and activate the spell. Suddenly the world turns and spins in massively incoherent ways and you're forced down to kneel as a portal swallows you whole.

—————————————

Ash, dust, and smoke whip around you in a frenzy as the world stops spinning and you begin to stand from your knelt position stumbling slightly. Your massive muscles ache and begin to visibly move under your deep burgundy skin. Your wild crown of horns rake agains the stone ceiling as you stand and stretch. You cannot hear anything for a few seconds but your own breathing and the stones moving beneath your fee until a meek soft-spoken but obviously annoyed voice whispers, "Brother.. I-I can't see anything.. d-did it work?"

Another voice shushes and then says, "Be quite Lilissa, we must wait for him to speak and of course it worked. Father is the one who gave us the spell in the first place."

>cont
>>
The dust begins to settle and you stand there looking at twelve hooded figures standing in a circle around you in the dimly lit dungeon. Silence dominates the room and many speak to each other in whispered voices for a short time until they all fall quite. One steps forward and reveals his face and that he too has horns but not that of a demons. A tiefling. You notice then that the rest follow him and all reveal their faces and that they are all tieflings. You look around at them and their faces seem visibly startled when they lay their eyes upon your visage. You stand twice the size of the tallest amongst them and they all seem surprised about that fact. Your largest pair of horns, that reach around a foot and a half, scrape against the roof of the circular room and you stand in the center.

The first of them begins to fidget slightly and as your glowing red eyes make their way from face to face and then his solid golden red eyes connect with yours and he stares at you. Under more scrutinization you notice he has large straight horns protruding from his brow that curve back and slightly upwards. His hair is almost entirely black with a hint of some dark red, not unlike his firebrick red skin, and it's length is kept in a tight knot. He dots his eyes around the room before kneeling and clearing his throat.

"Great lord under The Primal Evil...

Welcome to the Demonic Invasion Quest!

The rules are simple but still need to be explained. Majority votes win and if we need to roll I will state it. Rolls are always the best out of three and critical rolls are taken either way. Everything else but combat is a 1d100 and combat is 3d10. (Yes I stole this dice system from other quests.) If anyone has any questions OOC then I will answer them after the written part just like this or within the discord server. (Yes. This too was an idea from another quest, the same quest to be exact.)

You wave your hand dismissively. "No mortal. I do not answer to a Primal."

It seems the word of your demotion has not reached the ears of mortals. Yet they know you by name being that is the only way to directly contact a demon such like yourself.

"Oh uh.." the tiefling trails off before he looks around nodding at others to kneel as well and then bows his head.

"Well thank you for answering our call my lord. We ask of you to help us seek revenge against those who ruined to our once prosperous realm. My lord we ask that you help us reclaim that which was wrongfully taken from us," the young tiefling says pleadingly and then takes a breath and begins to speak again as he looks back to your face.

"We ask that you help us in this goal and we will pledge service to you and only you. We offer you treasure and ask only that you merely take again that was once lost."

You raise your eyebrow and then in a deep voice you growl, "What treasure?"

The tiefling then cracks an odd smile and replies, "Land."

A wicked smile graces your face and you nod thoughtfully.

"Who is your leader then mortal?"

The tiefling looks around the circle with some shrugging and then turns back to you. "I am. We are only but a few since they forced many of us into hiding less we wish the be captured or killed."

With a bit of a frown you stare at the tiefling. "Well then. Do tell who you are."

"My name is Baskil. We are the last remnants of the empire of Aranlius the Forsaken."

"The empire of Aranlius? Hmm.. so where am I now?" You ask.

"We are inside a temple once dedicated to worship of your kind. After they came and attacked us they since banned the worship and these ruins are one of the last to stand which lie just outside the walls of Blackmoor Stronghold -- a prison." Baskil says.

"And the conquerors, who are they?"

"They are followers of the bright folk. The nephilim. They call themselves The Kingdom of Forlinde." He pauses and sighs, "Fanatics of Uriel."

Baskil speaks more about how Forlinde came by boats across the narrow strait and sacked the southern cities and spread their religion to all who would listen. These people, this place all feels familiar somehow. Baskil finished and you nod thoughtfully. "About your pledge of service then. I assume you know what it entails."

"Yes we all understand what we have asked for. We are all willing." Baskil says.

————————•|||||

The way to pledge them to you indefinitely will mark their body and spirit with a black symbol that is directly connected to you. You mark them and their souls will be yours but they will not be able to summon other demons unless they sacrifice someone who has not been marked as souls are needed to summon a demon. If you do not mark them then you must also have sacrifices to keep your power stable.

While nodding you look around the circle of tieflings. They all seem young and untested. Silly mortals dabbling in things beyond them. You sigh and wave your hand. Suddenly a bright light emits from each tiefling from some random spot on their body; a shoulder, the head, forearms. They all squirm and flinch at the sudden blinding heat.

Their collective power surges through you giving a distinct but unplaceable feeling like finding a loved one or becoming reunited with an item long lost. It's odd and ends as quickly as it began. As the light fades away they all stand with uncertainty and look around grimacing slightly with some rubbing the spot of their new mark. They are now bound to you. In flesh and in spirit.

Baskil looks around at his people and then back to you. "Thank you. Thank you many times over. We will take what is rightfully ours and with your help we will keep it that way."

"Baskil.." one of the others speaks up, "now that we have summoned Roc what are we to do about the hunters who are to surely feel his sudden presence?"

Demon hunters. Slayers. Stalkers. Adventurers. Pawns of the gods who wish to slay your kind. Most are ambitious mortals who wish for their name to be praised but there are those who are powerful in their own right.

"Worry not. They are but weaklings compared to us!" Baskil says as he produces an ornate medallion and holds it up. "These hunters are nothing to us."

Some seem to not be convinced though.

"These hunters... what can you tell of them?"

The one who spoke up earlier turns to you and begins "they are mercenaries paid by the Forlindians to hunt down us. Since they sailed over that strait six winters past almost all the kings of the holds were slain at their hands!"

"They are hired men who kill what they are paid to kill and they are good at their job." Another says plainly. Then they all seem to quite down. After a while of idle chatter Baskil waves them off and the rest disperse except for Baskil and a girl next to him. You elect to leave the somewhat cramp circular room. Exiting through a large archway you find yourself at a balcony overlooking an extensive yet dilapidated room. The masonry and craftsmanship is higher than what most would be able to produce.

Two sets of stairs extend from the balcony to the ground where several benches and pedestals are located. Skeletons litter the building which paints a scene of struggle. Some of the wood looks burnt and signs of scuffs and cracks are throughout. Peering through the many painted windows you can see it is night outside and you can see small plumes of smoke which are possibly home chimneys. Looking more you see that the surrounding buildings are burnt or torn down of not condemned to be.

Turning around you can see Baskil and the girl had followed you through the arch and are standing at the balcony.

"Sad isn't it?" Baskil says dully. "This used to be a very well known place of worship. Blackmoor was once our bastion against the storm. The last hold. And now we are prisoners to its walls. Blackmoor was built by your kind after the creation of ours. A reminder to the Forlindians that we will be ever strong. Ever standing."

"Hmm.. yes." you say absentmindedly. The pair of them walk down the steps looking at you. The girl, a tiefling, seems a little younger than Baskil who you imagine you be a young adult. They both share those solid gold eyes though Baskil's hair is no where near as red as hers.

"And you are?" You ask looking at the girl.

"M-my name.. " she trails off.

"She's my younger si--" Baskil says before the girl elbows him.

"My name is Lilissa." She says quietly.

"Mhm." Baskil says. "She's my sister."

You turn and look at the temple for a bit mulling over what have happened so far. "How is it that you were able to summon me by name? You don't seem knowledgeable of demonology."

"It was our father!" Lilissa speaks up.

"Our father gave us a book with a note inside telling us how to contact you. Apparently it was his father's passed down to him by his father and before him.. " Baskil trails off as his eyes grow wider. Outside the temple you can hear voices talking.

Moonlight beams through the open door shining light on the single man standing in the archway. You walk towards the man and grab him in your large hands lifting him up to eye level.

"Hey Jim what are you... " Two other men walk in with torches and their weapons drawn. Baskil and Lilissa stand at your sides and they too draw their weapons.

"Greetings mortals." You take the man in one hand and with your free one you wave your hand which commands the doors shut. "I wasn't expecting guests this late so please excuse the mess."

The two brothers look terrified and the man in your arms turns back to them saying "I think it's safe to say it's not a goat this time."

Your nails dig into his skin making him wince. They wear minimal armor but seem strong in their own right. They all carry swords and both Baskil and Lilissa carry only daggers however ornate.

Tossing the man in your arms at a group of benches you move forward slowly toward the two at the door. Their torches burn brightly and begin to flare up as you near. Burning their hands they drop the torches which then sputter out and the flame dies away.

Darkness engulfs the entryway as only your glowing red eyes peer through at the brothers. Flames spark up again and it shows your magnificence to them. They prepare their blades and swing wildly with none making their mark. You simply grab one by the head and crush it beneath your fingers like a walnut.

A thud and the other drops his blade and turns to the door rapidly beating at it and as he begins to scream your hand goes through his chest and tears out his heart in one clean motion puncturing his armor on both sides. Their souls fuel you momentarily before they pass.

The one they called Jim watched in horror as the others died within a few seconds of entering the temple. He begins to cower behind the benches you tossed him at. Baskil goes over to him and drags him from behind as the human dares not to protest. You raise your hand and speak, "Don't. We may have use for him. Do you have a place to store him?"

Baskil nods and props the man up pushing him along to some place deep within the temple. Lilissa stares at you in awe for a few moments before she too hurries after her brother.

After a disdainful look at the two fresh corpses you drop the heart and follow Baskil and Lilissa to a room past the balcony. It's a small room made from stone with iron cages and cells within. Baskil moves the new prisoner into one of the cells and with a jingle of keys he is locked within. You wonder how long the tieflings have been here since the entrance seems to be less than clean with what is strewn around the floors but easily turn your attention to the prisoner.

"So I assume you are a hunter of some sort yes?" You ask in a deep gravely voice and the man nods hurriedly. "How did you become one... or how did you find us?"

The man then lifts up a medallion not unlike the one Baskil holds onto. "The clergy gives out these pendants. They shake when something wrong is nearby. Damn idea of a night hunt.. should of waited till morn."

"And the others? The too were hunters?" You ask nearing closer to the cell.

"No, only those who are deemed worthy by the clergy are allowed pendants. Those were.. pals of mine.." the man trails off. It seems this clergy is responsible for the little intrusion.

"And the clergy, are there many near?"

"No." The man says plainly and then turns away and tosses the pendant out of his small iron cell. He seems to not want to talk anymore.

The human seems content within his box so you leave him and the room. You call for Baskil and he comes along. You tell him to send some tieflings to interrogate the prisoner and if he says anything at all they are to make a note of it word for word. "We must know our enemies. Break him."

You leave and return to the entrance where you find two tieflings rummaging through the pockets of the dead brothers. They notice you and then produce two small bags of coins and walk backwards slowly. One glares at the other and whispers, "See I told you!" Before they both walk away with their heads bowed.

You ignore them for the time being and Inspect the two corpses. They were wearing kettle helmets and cuirasses along with shin guards. They had a sword with each and the one without a head had a small book as some sort of diary or ledger or possibly both. Skimming through the book you find an excerpt reading out

" My brother and I are following Jim along on another adventure. We went down to the tunnels beneath Blackmoor and found a cave filled with moss. Jim swore he saw a damn forsaken but it's just light playing tricks on him. We left him and went through back to surface and found a tunnel the leads to the prisons. Dumbasses were drunk again told Harold of it. Bloody forsaken in a cell stole me bread so I bought some more.

The rest seemed un-noteworthy. You notice a tiefling watching you near the balcony.

You stand up and wave the two tieflings over from earlier to strip the bodies while you keep the book. You tell them to move the bodies to the room with our new prisoner once they are done taking things from them.

After a bit of wondering around you find Baskil sitting near a fire in a repurposed room which now looks like a living space with a few cots and clothing placed around the room. You hand him the dead brother's journal and point to the page you found earlier. "Seems we found a way to Blackmoor. It's an entryway to the prison. From what he wrote it is barely guarded."

"This.." There is a pause with Baskil reading over the journal excerpt a few times. "This is good news."

"What can you tell of the prison?"

"It's where they torture our kind. They keep them half starved and weak. If we find those there would certainly go with our cause but they may not do much until they are properly looked after." Baskil says somewhat crestfallen yet with enthusiasm for finding more of his people. "From what I can tell the prison should be the first place we head if we wish to retake Blackmoor. But Blackmoor itself is well fortified and the prison sits at its center."

"Do you know who is in control of the city?"

"From what I've heard it is a particularly powerful duke of Forlinde. I don't know if there are many hunters in the city but if there are then they would definitely be heading here soon. Nearest city with their religious sects is a weeks travel by foot."

If there is no immediate threat we have two weeks time before more hunters arrive. It's still dark outside from what you can tell.

Baskil reads through the journal of the deceased as you look at the fire. Two weeks is quite some time to prepare for a likely attack as a fairly inept hunter was even able to determine you were present. Looking at the solid stonework you are reminded that if you are attacked there will be very little you can do if this place is not properly secured.

"How long have you been here Baskil?"

The tiefling tears away from the book and closes it setting it aside before speaking. "About a week now. We haven't done much but find the materials for your summon."

"I guessed as much. This place however nice seems to be lacking for defenses. If it is true that the hunters are coming then we must prepare quickly." You say as you stand up to leave the room. Baskil follows you out to the balcony and you both look out to the church. The tall stained glass will be a problem if not dealt with when defending a place like this. Baskil tell you there are several holes within the structure itself but was never able to secure it. There is a rat infestation in the basement near where the prisoner is kept which can provide meager souls for beasts but would need to have some time to prepare the rites and rituals to do so. Traps would also be helpful in defending the place but the resources and set up will take time as well. Then there is also the prison which would help with man power but would take time to properly stage the escape.

You both stand in silence looking over at the temple floor. "We should see about those rats then. A few hellhounds or bats would help a long ways."

Baskil looks at you and nods. "The rituals will take some time and capturing enough rats would be another thing. I'll gather the rest and we will begin work."

You both go depart ways. You eventually find the book that they used to summon you with and you read it as you wait for them to prepare the rest.

————————

During the days the tieflings sleep and during the nights they gather items around the summoning pit or hunt rats in the basement. You however read the curious book which depicts many different rituals about demons or necromancy or even divines. Though you can't help but feel you're being watch you seem to never find the peering eyes. Outside the temple during the days it is almost dead quite with the odd poverty-stricken peasant wandering through the ruins nearby scavenging for some useful thing. No hunters. No Knights. No pests. After six days and six nights the tieflings call to you for the summoning. They cannot summon demons themselves but with your help demons can cross over from the great divide.

There are several rats in a cage in the center. It looks like a swirling mass of flesh and hair. This can be used to summon either three hellhounds, two hellhounds and two hell bats, one hellhound and four hell bats or six hell bats.

————————•|||||
*Hell bat - [[Demon Beast]] - a small bat like creature with glowing red eyes and black cracked skin. They produce hell flame spit which is a small bolt of flame that melts metal but cools very fast.

*Hellhound - [[Demon Beast]] - a large wolf like creature with flaming red eyes and mouths. They have black cracked skin which produces flames between the cracks. They have a powerful bite and can burn skin if too close.

You nod at Baskil to begin the summoning of two hellhounds and two hell bats. The circle begins the rites and liturgy associated with the summons. You do the same but in your native tongue. This somewhat hymn or chant is spoken in a sing song way for the invocation of the bestial demons.

A whirling mass forms in the center of the group as magicka is syphoned from each member. The winds begin to stir as the portal opens dust and ash fill the room and the circle slowly stops the chat. Several sets of eyes pierce the dust. After a few minutes of watching the dust begins to clear and ash settles and all can see the new servants from the great beyond. The hellhounds bow their heads and the bats flutter their wings in contempt of the new scenery.

After a small amount of watching the circle disperses and you turn to Baskil as the hellhounds and bats explore their new home. "Now we have a new force of demons if we were not known of they will certainly draw the attention. The windows are the weakest point of our building and must be fortified if we wish to properly defend against any form of serious Hunter attack."

Baskil nods and leaves you. Later in the night you find the sounds of the cannibalization of the benches to cover the windows. You help some but your attention is drawn to the lone prisoner once more. The ones who have been torturing him have told you about a supposed meeting of the keep-holders in the capital to the west. He believes that it will happen in the coming month around three weeks out but he is unsure if the news is even true. He begs for release.

It would be a easy way to get some of our lackeys from our realm over here.
If not:

Yeah if we make a demon loyal to us possess him, we have a subordinate who is familiar with how to work with other demons and maybe the demon possessing him is a specialist like a smith or something like that.
>>
>>1012820
Solid plan anon.
>>
>>1012820
Would you rather him be possessed or marked? Marking someone forces your will upon them which is the reason we marked the tieflings. You can basically make him do whatever you want. Possession I would probably make it so only higher demons can possess which would allow for recruitment of higher demons which lesser demon and up. And lesser demons are usually under the will of a Primal. Think Succubus for Lust or Beserkers for Wrath.

Possession can only happen to those who are magically inclined.
>>

Possession is only for higher

Typing two sentences at once is bad mmkay?

So no possession for regular dudes like this guy?
Marking sounds like a reasonable thing to to do, since if he is practically our slave and can't disobey, we won't even need to torture him for information anymore, don't need to hold him captive and he can work for us.
>>
>>1012879

Do we have to contact the demon first or offer something?

You stare at the human for a little bit until a wicked smile cracks across your face. "You will be mine then."

You have your hand in the air and his right hand glows a familiar glow and a black mark appears upon it after it settles. "W-what have you done to me?"

Jim says as he looks up at you in pleading eyes. Fear. "I have liberated you of tiresome freedom. Though that freedom was never true it still stands that you will be mine. My eyes and ears. You will go out and deliver to me information. This Blackmoor prison, gather all you can and tell me once I call upon you. If you try to tell anyone anything then.. things will get interesting won't they?"

He stares wide eyed as you open the cell door and push him along out the temple. "How will I know your call?"

You smile again and point to his hand. "Oh you will know."

————————

Five days and five nights pass as the construction is made and the temple is somewhat cleaned. The tieflings look upon their work proudly and you inspect their craftsmanship. The benches were cannibalized and the wood was used to cover the windows. Heavy iron nails were used to keep them in place. The temple floor is also clear except for a makeshift barricades near the entrance which consists of small wooden spikes, dirt, and left over wooden planks.

Three more days until the hunters return with a band of fighters. You feel prepared and so does the rest of your small group. You have some extra time to spare.

Going over final inspections of your small cult following you notice a sever lack in defensive armaments. After taking the armor off of the brothers who was following Jim only Baskil has any actual protection. This is unsettling to say the least as most of them have only daggers or maces. They all have some magical ability due to them being forsaken -- having demon blood.

You find Baskil as he has his robes parted wearing some clothing and the armor they acquired. "Baskil. Do you know of any way we can acquire more armor to arm the rest?"

"I do not know of any." He says after a moment of silence. You leave him and call on your two hell bats and give them instructions on finding an armory or a carriage with steel in it. The two bats nod and flutter through a crack in the roof of the temple. An entire day and night pass before the bats return heralded by the beating of small wings. They speak in your native tongue faintly as they tell you of their findings. One went into Blackmoor and found a blacksmith shop in a merchant area and an armory in a prison area. The other bat tells about a wagon headed south from here tonight carrying what you seek though it has guards. You send them off again with the intent of finding the location of the hunters.

From the sound of it the wagon is a little bit into the forest in the south, half a nights walk. If you leave right now you can find them off the road and perhaps catch them by surprise.

You have two days left until the Hunters arrive.

With this new knowledge you seek out council with Baskil. He is speaking with his sister and another tiefling you are vaguely familiar with. "I have news. There is a wagon filled with what we need. We leave now."

They look amongst themselves and back at you and disperse to tell others. You call upon your hellbats and hellhounds and the tieflings gather around the door with you waiting for the rest of them to finish. The temple door cracks open and you and your entourage leave into the forest.

Following the road south for a few hours you come across the distant crackling of fire and you decide to spread out to surround the ever approaching fire. Getting closer you are flanked by a hell hound and a tiefling you have yet to be introduced with. Tents are spaced out sparingly and the two horses are tied up and muzzled. The camp owners are all knocked out cold.

They sleep.

You motion for a few tieflings to move in and if possible gag and tie up. Two tieflings go in and grab rope and some cloth and head into a tent. After a quite startled noise it falls quite and the two tieflings emerge from the tent. They give a quick thumbs up and move onto the next one.

More tieflings move in and within an hour the camp is almost completely finished. The tents are deconstructed and put into the wagon. The newly gagged and tied prisoners are lined up in front of a fire. Five guards and three merchants with the sad departure of two who were light sleepers. Ordering the tieflings to put the dead in the wagon and tie the living to it you move around and inspect the newly acquired friends.

All tired and all fearful eyes stare at you as you walk up and down the line. Fools.

The journey back was quick and had hours before the sun rose again.

The moonlight cascades across the the temple's structure and it bathes in its glory. As you approach the temple you see it's once exquisite stonework and masonry which erected the building. Entering through the two large doors the tieflings begin to unload the wagon. You watch as the prisoners are all dragged into the back room. They shamble forward oh so sluggishly. Tearing away from the prisoners you then see the tieflings digging around the wagon's innards. Multiple sets of simple armor is found within just like the bat spoke of as well as a good amount of weapons and shields.

Many tieflings already claim the armaments and others still rummage within the wagon finding a ledger, some rope, and a crate of jarred spices. Watching them, you see a particularly lengthy and robust claymore which you claim for yourself as you have no weapon to speak of.

After the general excitement dull down the tieflings disperse with their newfound bounty. You make your way to the prisoners and they are generally quite. Without discourse you mark three guards and let the out of the prison, with specific instructions.

————————

A hell bat flutters through a crack in the roof with a crossbow bolt stuck inside its left wing. It drops slowly near you making a pitiful squeak as it hits the floor of the temple. There are torches outside the entry door and you can hear voices. Baskil and company come near and prepare for a battle.

Loud thuds upon the wooden doors echo through the chambers of the temple.

The door cracks open and the visibly tieflings tense up. The newly marked guards stand in front and hold up shields steadfast. Creaks of wood panels as the first few make their way in.

Taking your claymore and imbedding it into the floor boards you begin to call upon for a spell. Ethereal flames etch across your skin and gather at your hand in a dense ball of hate. In a single swing you cast the ball and it flies toward the elf in the center. A faint blue light appears in front of the hunters and the fire spreads across it and dissipates in a smoky puff. The elf doesn't even flinch.

It didn't even touch him. You draw your blade in one hand and charge forward in one motion as the tieflings begin to shoot fire at the group with the same luck. Bringing your blade level you cleave at the hunters narrowly missing two as they are pushed backwards. The three guards move forward and you begin to attack the hunters.

The tieflings join in and Baskil is at your side with a rather large battle axe. The elf retaliates and swings at your calves cutting shallow but cutting nonetheless. You step back as another swings. Dodging you kick the new assailant square in the chest pushing him backwards to the other hunters.

Taking the claymore again you swing left at the elf and as he dodges you take your right hand balling it in a fist and in a fluid movement you slam it in the elf's prissy little face sending him feel back grabbing at his now broken nose he backs away and two hunters take his place.

Again you pull back and kick the only closest to you in their chest pushing him back and making him fall. The tieflings continue to pelt the group with flame and as the elf moved back so did the magicka aura he possesses. The flames now find their target and melt away at shields forcing them to drop the molten metal. The elf notices this and moves back closer to the front but nowhere near you. A guard falls grabbing and clenching to his now bleeding chest. Two hunters also fall so some injury or another.

You take the claymore and make a wide sweeping arc at the hunters. You motion for the two hellhounds to go around and attack the elf and then make another wide swing this time to slam it into their lines. Breaking their formation the collapse onto the center and the hounds simple walk past either side. You kick a hunter in front of you down and plant your foot on his chest concaving it and crushing him. Baskil swings his axe and tears a shield away from one of them and then bears it down again into the hunter's skull.

The hounds draw near to their target and you watch intently as they pounce on the elf as he was turned facing you. They catch him by surprise and he topples over and falls. Within seconds the elf's feminine screams turn into horrifying gurgling of blood. With the aura down the flames begin to lick at the armor of the hunters. Their metal warms and heats up like a boiling pot and just like it they begin to roast. The rest drop their blades and raise their hands quickly in defeat.

But to answer your questions it just depends on what you'd want to do really. You can make the marked hunters go out and be assassins or cult leaders or whatever really. The clergy is a broad term for the religious people meaning paladins, templars, clerics, demon slayers, etc etc.

Those that are left of the hunters are standing with their hands in the air and heads bowed low in solemn disgrace. You ignore the dead and you place your hand on each of them marking them with the black symbol. It burns their skin. It binds them. All five of them.

You wade through the pitiful fools and make your way to where the hounds' dinner laid sprawled out. He wears the same ornate medallion along with another vastly more ornate necklace which identifies his house. Dead or dying he lay there. You crouch over him and rummage through his belongings and produce a letter. It's boring but it talks about something interesting; the meeting of the holds' lords is in a weeks time. Under closer inspection you notice he is also carrying a few crystals. Essence. Immaterial. Magicka pure. Stuff of intense magical properties. You hold onto it and return to the temple.

These hunters were pitiful and disappointingly annoying. Arrogant fools. The tieflings and the marked humans drag the dead to the cells and pile them up. That pile is only getting larger and the stench stronger.

You watch them as they wash the boards of the blood and clean the mess.

You count the losses having only two fall during the fight is an arguably good outcome if not the best from the sound of things. The new servants replenish those that were lost and are exceptionally better. Though being hunters their faces are known. You leave that as it lay and you make your way to the pile of dead you have amassed.

A tiefling is standing there looking at the corpses. He turns and notices you standing there. "Oh hey.. "

The tieflings seems worried about something. You stare blankly at him until he speaks up again. "These corpses.."

The tiefling trails off again and then speaks up again. Indecisive. "We can use them" he pauses once again before sighing and starting over. "The corpses can be used for summoning demons right?"

"No" you say plainly and the tiefling seems to be a bit relieved.

"Well can I see if I can use them? I found a book.. "

You stare at the tiefling and ponder his proposal. The tiefling looks a bit frail and is of average appearance and height. A necromancer. Disgusting. You sigh as you look back at the pile of corpses and then you wave your hand dismissively. "Do what you wish then mortal. Just don't try lichdom, you've already sold your soul."

"Thank you!" The tiefling perks up and begins to drag the corpses to some unknown corner of the temple with a trail of red paint following him. You turn your gaze away from the weird one and stare at the captives.

"What will I do with you play things?" You say as you crouch to become at eye level. "More friends I hope. It would take all of you to get just one that has favor with a Primal though. One would be left if it's one without favor."

Fear. Fear. Fear. They reek of it.

Eyes see but do not know...

Lust. The pleasure of flesh.

"We need someone to become a guest at a nice banquet I've heard of." You say slowly and then point out exactly what you want. The five weak mortals are set in a circle facing outward. This is the first sacrifice of many. A building block of death. Truth. You stare at the circle of robed tieflings they are all ready. They desire power for protection. For survival. Desire power either way.

The chats and liturgy begin in at Baskil and in time the circle starts to become louder. You notice the marked guard stares with a face of fear and hate etched across it. Good. The sound of a eerily calming sound of uniform chanting moves you to join in as you lay out the specifics in your native tongue. Power seeps through the mortals and condenses in a ball above in the center. The sacrifices begin to convulse and seize as the spell continues.

Soon the winds stir and smoke bellows forth. Soon it settles.

Lust. Pleasure of the flesh. Simple. Enticing. Devouring.

A figure of exquisite beauty stands before you. Almost perfection incarnate. A succubus. You were so fixated upon the demon you never noticed the chanting stopped. The marked guard's previous hate has been wiped away by lust. He shakes his head and stares again at the now non existent dead of his charge. And so his hate returns.

"Roc. What a pleasure it is to finally find the champion I've heard so much of. You already know my name. Of course you do.. Lilith." Her words like silk but an odd sense comes over you. Mind games.

"Good. Lilith. Welcome." You pause gathering yourself. "I have a job for you. There is something that is happening in four days time and I need you to get acquainted with a noble lord."

"Easy as said Roc dear." She walks slowly toward you and places a finger on your bare chest. She traces on your skin with her nail and then walks passed you. "Do keep in touch. I'd hate to be out there by my lonesome."

Eyes on the prize Roc~. Her voice echoes through your mind. Telepathy. Let's talk once it's over.

She leaves. Your mind yours again.

I think a Demon of Wrath would've been more useful. If we only wanted lewds we could have just bent over the most attractive Tiefling woman in our group, but I guess a Lust Demon will be useful for getting information out of our prisoners.

Maybe we should start raping mortal women, and holding them captive, so we can restart the Tiefling race.
>>
>>1015138
Sorry it took some time. Couldn't find an attractive succubus picture oddly enough.
>>
>>1015138
>[D] Train
>>
>>1015145
Tieflings are "cursed". Tieflings were "created" by demon shenanigans like the drow. The angles having lewds with a mortal makes a Nephilim whilst a demon having lewds with a mortal makes a Cambion. Angles don't have shenanigans with mortals because they are "righteous".
>>
>>1015171
While tieflings and drow are entirely different races and can produce offspring with their own nephilim and cambions cannot make more nephilim or cambions. They can only make the mortal race which they were children of.

We could always rape mortals for the Evulz and the pleasure of it, getting capable minions out of it is just a bonus. In the future, when we've forged an empire, we'll need to get ourselves a harem of brown elves.

For now, let's talk to the Succubus, and possibly have lewds to deal the deal.

>>
We got a library in our tower back in hell, right?
I'm sure there should at least be one book on necromancy.
>>
Remember there is always another way to get information and I think lust works well with that.
There already was a mention of teifling orgy but I feel like that wasn't really necessary yet.
>>
We should have gotten a demon of wrath for the firepower, but infiltration will work.

Since it is the QUANTITY and not the QUALITY of the souls that matter for summoning, we should aim to mark the souls and bodies of fighters and use the weak for summoning. A caravan of servants would be ideal.
>>
I wanna find some sort of tinkerer demon in the future.
Nobody can stop us once we start a demonic industrial revolution.
>>
>>1015281
i'm concerned about firepower too. we seem pretty weak when we're attacked. if any sizable force comes against us, we're just dead.
>1 we need legit force.
>2 exaggerated shows of force to intimidate hunters
>3 our marked ones amongst the populous, corrupting the faithful and spreading legend
>4 constantly growing numbers and a means to sustain them
>>
>>1015316
I wonder if the necromancer tiefling can make a flesh golem?
>>
>>1015322
Necromancy is great if we want to alienate possible allies and rally the humans and angels against us.
If we are just a force to deal with, they can chalk it up to the remaining resistance being hard to stamp out and would increase the pressure more slowly, rather than the fear that the undead would bring.

>>1015316
Ideally we summon demons that can take the souls and corrupt others, maybe even summon more demons. I assume primal specific demons will be strong enough to gather souls.
>>
>>1015351
I get the stuff about alienating potential allies but a flesh golem seems like the only warbeast we have access to right now.
Any thougts about starting industrialization later?
>>
Is it possible to make demons infiltrate societies and corrupt them over time? Its a good consideration since power seems to be the topic and lillith can probably do a good job corrupting ppl.
>>
>>1015376
I honestly think we should start industrialization early to boot cause it can help in the long run.
>>
>>1015138
You stare at Lilith as she leaves the temple. A few moments after she left you tear away and the rest disperse from the circle. You hold a few before they scatter and ask, "What do you know of Illusion magic?"

"Not much only very basics. Shouldn't you know.." She is cutoff by another tiefling who reveals herself to be Baskils little sister.. what's her name? Lilissa.

"I know some!" She says in a somewhat uncharacteristically enthusiastic way. A child.

"Does you broth--"

"Nope." She says and you stare at her. She gives a faint smile before she notices what she did and bows her head. You sigh "Teach the rest if you can or get someone to teach combat magics. That elf hunter showed us we must become stronger."

You leave them and find the five hunters meandering around the front gate. They notice you and cry out, "What did you do to us foul demon? Who was that creature? Why are we here?"

Assaulted by questions you simply wave your hand and silence them. "You are my servants. You do not ask. You only do. Bring me those willing. The weak. The left over. I will give them purpose. If they are unwilling, bring them too."

You wave your have again and they can again speak. They nod silently and exit the temple one after another. More.

————————

You watch over the tieflings as they begin to practice and train. Their over all magic skill is however better than an average human's it is still lacking. You too practice and work on your own magical prowess in the days of waiting.

————————

After a week Lilith returns and smiles. "Well do I have a story to tell you my dear!"

"Speak then."

"The lords are planning on taking more of your.." she looks around at the tieflings in disdain, "... friends. They believe that a tower off the coast is housing a rouge group. They also heard of some... hunters that have gone missing. Though they chop it up to incompetence and barely care at all. They say there will be some fancy lord lady that will be heading to some capital from the southern lands. They seem to fear her. They should from what I hear."

She speaks in an almost sing song way -- a way to captivate mortals. You are immortal. "Good."

Ask them about this new group at tower..and any other groups that they might know.
We best to sent tiefling or Lilith to take a message to them..Lilith would work best.

No, we can't sent Jim there, they don't trust humans and at worst case will kill him, before he delivers the message.

Luring the nobles is great idea thou.

Demonic machinery sounds really fucking cool. I want dat shit asap.

I would love if some of our fucked up exploits came to be rumored as exploits of nephilim-gone-bad among the commoners instead of being credited to us. Undermining the following of the "good guys" with lies and frame-ups just makes my demonic heart swell.

We should actually work on that. It may go to our favor
>>
>>1015526
So far we don't have any real heat on us, and it could help maintain that for awhile too. Right now the trembling of a few blessed medallions is our only worry for exposure. I like that.

I want our people out of that prison though...
>>
>>1015483
Demonic machinery, you say...?
>>1015465
Could we theorethically bind a demon to a machine?

Just imagine, a huge golem of black iron, an unflinching behemoth that slaughters hunters with unforseen efficiency thanks to the Demon locked inside of its core that continuously over-charges the machine by constantly feeding on the blood and souls of those that he slays.
Just thinking of it makes me furiously stroke my horns.
>>
>>1015533
Agreed more people more progress. To a point that is
>>
>>1015558
If it works like that then I can see why marking dwarves could be a high priority in the future
>>
>>1015573
Specifically duergar. Dwarfs are good at normal machinery but their cousins have a unique taste.
>>
>>1015573
Oh yeah, dorfs.
Then we could even get some nifty traps and defenses for our fortress.
>>
>>1015384
You nod thoughtfully and Lilith walks past you and whispers. "We need to talk sometime darling. Don't want to make a lady bored now do you?"

Far from a lady. That's not very nice..[/I] she leaves you and your mind returns once again. With the multiple hunters gathering and this news of another group of survivors you decide it would be best to contact Jim.

————————

He comes rubbing the back of his hand as he enters the temple grounds. You escort him to the summoning pits and begin to talk with him. "What have you heard?"

"There's plenty of things I've heard. Plenty god damn things. But I guess you're wanting to know about the prison or..?"

"Yes the prison mortal. Tell me if the prison."

"They are preparing for a new shipment of those devil spawn. From the North Sea -- Anandias. Seems some left on ship to the islands north. Also words of the tower off the coast near Highill Castle. The lord of Blackmoor hates that and is sending two ships." He says and looks around. "You really need some interior decorating in here."

"Oohh.." You both look at the archway and see Lilith standing there. "Did you bring me a new toy?"

"Alright pal. I'm going to go now. Shipment of forsaken is going to be in a few days." Jim gets up and leaves. Odd.

"Need to see me mister big scary demon man?" Lilith teases.

"Why yes. Seems our favorite lord is going to go pay a visit to some of my, how did you put it, friends." You say as you walk up to her. You tower over her and she gives a look disdain and a pout. "I need you to convince him other wise. That and I need you to see if he can get to do some more.. devious things."

"Men are weak darling. Sad. Is that all you had in mind then? Fine." She says and once again leaves to do your bidding. After a few moments you find around three peasants gathered in the temple floor with two hunters behind.

"Willing." One says and you meet them at the floor. More for the engines of war. The peasants are very poor. Beggars and fools. They will do perfectly. You mark the new blood.

The hunters leave and the Willing stay and begin to help around the place. They seem to not hate the tieflings like the rest. May it be that they too were treated so poorly? You decide to leave that train of thought and find the necromancer to see what has come of his experiments. You find him in a far back room with oddities about. He seems to be going about the bodies of the dead and putting them onto some abhorrent creature of grotesque flesh and bone. "Oh m-master! There is much left to do as I just figured out about this.. abomination... this beast of flesh."

He seems to be ecstatic about his findings within his dark grimoire. "Though I figured out how to resurrect the dead they are not thinking or very strong. I've also heard of ways to just do simple skeletons but I've never tried. If only I had some help around here I could possibly do at least one thing."

The disgusting scene of gore in front of you is disrespect to both Hell and the heavens above. Soul play. You think of what could be done intensively as this could be beneficial but there will be costs in time and souls.

I think we ALL see the downside of this. Yet... there's that car wreck compulsion to watch it play out.

I'm not sure IRL i understand why demons have a problem with necromancy, seems like they'd be all for it (bear in mind almost everything i know of demons i learned ITT). Anyway, seems to me that Roc would have at least half a chub for seeing the necromancy project through, even if he knows it's a bad idea.
>>
>>1015823
Flesh golems are large hulking masses of flesh and bone. They can take large amounts of damage but they are slow. They can also cause fear and hate from the lords of spotted.

Resurrection can well allow for resurrection of your people if they died very recently. It's not like the divine resurrection where everything is healed. If they were poisoned then they become immune and live again. If they lossed their head.. no can do. They will have their magic ability halved once revived.

Zombies can turn others into zombies but they are mindless and unable to get orders unless controlled through magic. Can cause fear.

Skeletons are weak and made of magic. They can think, while limited, and be able to use magic. They can disassemble and reassemble. Can cause fear.

Disbanding the project removes the problem of causing sudden hate.

Alright time for some Flesh Golems
>>
>>1015792
>[E] Disband the project

> ZOMBIES. With Zombies, we could release a pack of them into strategic points in a major city, and within days, mortal defenders be struggling to quarantine and exterminate their plague, wasting lives and resources, making it much easier to conquer for our Demonic Legions. It's just good sense to have self-producing minions.

> Later on, we should look into Flesh Golems, hopefully that'll lead to rapid mutations in our followers... Mm, just imagine, a vast horde of rotting Zombies, slavering Ghouls, and colossal Flesh Golems, commanded by a legion of Tiefling sorcerers and battle-mages, all led by a towering Demon Lord and a berserk vanguard of Wrath Demons. Absolutely delicious...

> We should send our Hellbats out to find the nearest small hamlet, we need souls, and soon, we'll be powerful enough to assail them with ease. Or, we could send Lilith to the nearest Township, to subtly corrupt its most influential men, allowing us a foothold to expand and corrupt the rest with impunity.

> Could we bolt Iron, Spikes, and Blades onto a Flesh Golem? And could we fuse many Flesh Golems into one Gigantic Flesh Golem?
>>
>>1016053
Zombies or some kind of plague should be the next step.
Would be awesome if we could make our mark contagious.
>>
>>1016053
The reason I didn't vote zombies is that we can rally the country against the invaders instead of infecting them. Or at least get a bunch of willing slaves. Apparently they have some sort of traditional servitude to demons.
>>

>>1016075

>>
>>1016138
i think the tieflings were said to be sterile, but Roc can breed humans like a rabbit if he chooses to. He should do that with all females that are brought in.

What's the gestation for a Roc baby? We need to implement thiss....
>>
>>1016165
We shouldn't go all demon of lust.
At least, not for now.
Why worry about a kid when we have other groups of tieflings just waiting to be saved and merged with our forces?
>>
>>1016165
Cambions and Nephilim cannot produce others like them. Tieflings can produce more of themselves depending on their breeding partner.
>>
>>1016191
Who would worry about the kids? Just, when females are brought in, take 10 minutes to knock em up, then mark em and send em back into the world to do our bidding. Same as other footsoldiers, just with a little Roc growing in em. Bonus for the future.
>>
>>1016203
You think nobody will ask questions when they see a baby with horns?
>>1016198
And i don't want our tieflings to breed. Then we would have to care for the pregnant women so that we don't lose the kids and worry about them surviving childbirth and then waiting for the child to grow.
Nope, won't do it.

You stare at the necromancer. He seems pleased with his foul work. You look back at the gore and then back at him. "Continue your little project in the corner there. Find someone to help."

"Thank you. Many thanks master. I'll find someone willing to help." The necromancer returns to his work. This place is filthy. You leave him and wander around finding the other tieflings train in some combat magic. They are learning about elemental magic specifically it being fire magic. They are being taught by some tiefling you vaguely know of. No name but you've seen them around the temple grounds. They seem to be reading from an old book but you don't know exactly of what it is. The teacher notices you watching and walks toward you. "Glad to see you around. Notice any improvements? We've been learning of a more powerful flame spell. It sets things on fire by contact. Some have got it down would you like me to show you?"

"Yes. Show me it." You say plainly. The teacher gives you the book and shows you the page. Then the teacher explains how to do it which you pick up on instantly.

After learning the new spell you ask what most are good at. The teacher tells you that five are actually excelling at learning the new magics but the other seven are not. Baskil began training those who want to train on swords or combat. You suggest that to save time they should split the groups and have the five train with the teacher and the rest train with Baskil.

There is a rudimentary level of understanding of the skills over the past days and you've trained and sparred with a few tieflings yourself. Sometimes having a hunter come in and drop off some more to be marked as well as train the tieflings in combat.

Over the week Lilith comes by and tells you about some interesting things going on within the Blackmoor court. Seems Lilith was able to set up a small 'swing' party every now and then. She says that much of these nobles are deprived and that she enjoys it. She also notes that the shipment from the islands in the North Sea will arrive tonight with more friends.

She also hears of things in the forests near Highill. Something about forsaken. You decide to talk with Baskil about the possible tieflings within the forests. You find him talking with his sister. "-- can't you just do magic sister? I'm sure you're as good as the rest."

"Baskil.. they don't teach much but the boring combat spells. I've already talked with big red about doing illusion and he told be to go teach them." They seem to not notice you so you get closer until they see you.

"Baskil. The training is doing well then?" You ask and they both look a bit surprised and embarrassed.

"Oh yes. Though my sister wants to look into illusion spells of some kind but I told her to just do what the others are doing."

"More variety." You say simply.

"Ha!" Lilissa says at Baskil and then turns to you. "T-though there is a problem of finding something to teach out of."

You sigh.

Over the week you've kept busy and buying time. The necromancer tells you he is near completion on his work of art.

The best time to perform a prisonbreak is during a transfer. Is Lilith capable of marking people for us? If she is, we make her sneak into the ships before the tieflings are sent to the prison, mark them, give them information about our attack, order them to stay quiet about it even when tortured cuz they can't disobey. This way the prisoners will be more organized once we attack. And Lilith is capable of telepathy so this way we can coordinate them even better. By not releasing them right after their arrival our attack won't be forseen so easily.

The news of tieflings popping up excites a few and even more so since there will be many new tieflings at the prison. You know this will be good since it will bolster both faith and numbers. With Baskil pushing for attacking the prison you agree and begin to form the puzzle. You know there is a tunnel that leads into the prison which is presumably unguarded but things could change since the information is nearly a month old.

You call upon both Jim and Lilith to help with this. The sun sets as both arrive somewhat at the same time.

Setting your plan in motion you tell Jim to get the guards drunk and you cans him coins you found on the dead. Once drunk Lilith is to take them out of the prison and keep them away. Both nod and Jim wanders off. "I never get any presents.. Roc dear."

"Fine." You also hand her some coins. After Lilith leaves you spend time talking with the tieflings of the plan. They agree and you decide on who you're taking with when the necromancer comes out with an abhorrent pile of bone and gore. It's revolting. You stare at him and he says, "Ah good y-you're not yet gone! I've finished my.. pet. Care to show him the ropes?"

So as expected, the fleshgolem is a pile of meat.
However i think fleshgolems are a good opportunity, since they are so modular. For example, we could later try to make them more durable by replacing their bones with steel pipes.
Or we could just put the muscle tissue into a complete set of plate armor and you won't even need bones because the armor would work like an exoskeleton.

You agree that the flesh Golem will do nicely. You take a last glance over again and then you turn and open the temple doors. You tell the Willing to look out ahead and make sure there is a safe passage to the cave. After a few glances at the lumbering macabre thing you see one of the Willing return. He says they found an easy path to it but there is a chance of being seen.

You agree and take the path. A few minutes of silent walking you begin to see torch lights flickering. Seems to be a guard patrol close. You are a few feet away from the cave entrance but the guards might see you if you choose to book it. Turning the corner slightly you see it's a campfire with four guards standing around it talking. "I heard the guys at the cells are celebrating. Some hunter is congratulating them for the tiefling transfer."

"Heard there was free booze by chance?"

"You and your ale Dennis. Even if you can't hold it for shite all."

"Sheesh." They laugh. "Yeah there's free ale there. Think you can get some before Harold gets round here? Or you think he's be drinking it too, ehh?"

They laugh again. You can wait here but there is always a chance of some peasant wandering around the corner.

So essentially Tieflings, (+1)? In that case, we need to get a mass breeding eugenics program going as soon as we've got a small empire going. We'll take the top 10% most beautiful, skilled, magically adept, and powerful Tiefling females and impregnate them, their spawn would already be more capable, with our seed, they'll be borderline superhuman, and they'll become a ruling class in due time. Until then, I suppose we'll impregnate each of the nonTiefling mortal women to pleasure ourselves and ensure a decent army of Cambions in 12-15 years.

"You think she's much of a gem? I once saw one of them furrsaken or'er there looking better that your lass." The group laughs. Graining and annoying. Their conversation goes on with slight insults thrown in jokingly. Pests. You emerge from behind a house and walk to them unseen. They continue talking about nonsense and a few tieflings get the idea and come behind each one.

"Hey you 'eard something?" One says as in unison the group grabs the guards and holds them down. You mark the four of them and put a finger to your mouth to tell them to keep quite. The obey and you continue through the mouth of the cave. After a very quick walk you find your way through to the tunnel leading to the prison. There are some rubble of old walls lining the tunnel floor and the wall is made from familiar stone work.

You make your way through the snaking yet oddly spacious halls and find yourself at the hole that opens up to the prison. From what you can see there are no guards near so you lift yourself out of the hole. Surveying the area you seem to be in a cellar of some sort or storage. You help lift the rest of your company through the hole except the abomination which lifts itself up however awkwardly.

Walking around a few crates you see a few blacked out guards. They seem to be entirely unconscious and there are very few of them.

Three lay comatose and sprawled across tables and the floors. You walk around marking them for later purposes. And continuing through the next door. You hear a few laughing in the distance as you survey the labyrinth of iron bars and chains.

Many layers of prison cells line the dull brick walls. The large room looks like a sewer with a stream of water passing through it and bridges crossing. There are three large holding cells with what looks to be tiefling prisoners with other human prisoners. You cannot see who or what is in the single cells as they are blocked off by large thick plates of iron. Evidently the prison is impressively built and the masonry is finely made.

You call on Jim to bring the keys for the cells. After waiting a while he comes by with a large ring of keys on them. He tosses them to you and he returns back to where he came from. You approach the foremost holding cell and find yourself with multiple tieflings with varying physical conditions along with humans of equal poor condition.

"Thank the divin--" a man says before he sees you. "Oh uh.. Thank you kind.. soul?"

You shrug it off and unlock the cage. Your tieflings escort them to the cave entrance and you go onto the next large holding cell. A few of them begin to be loud and yell praises. Shadows move and the distant laughing stops.

"Keeps it down ew filfy basterds." A voice calls out and then the distant laughing resumes. Carefully you unlock the second holding cell. They too pour out towards your own and become escorted as well.

Then a voice calls out and many stop in their tracks. A voice so pure. A divine voice. "Your presence is not welcome foul beast."

You turn to see a man clad in golden armor and a soft white glow. He removes his helmet revealing short white hair. He is larger than most humans standing just around eight feet or so.

Nephilim.

"I can guess you're here for him then?" The man says with a sigh. You stare at him as he does not draw his blade nor return his helmet. He stands there with this soft aura around him glowing. After several seconds of a stare down many of the tieflings begin to move again and continue on their way. "I'm sooty but I cannot allow that."

"Who are you?" You ask as it is obvious the nephilim will not strike first.

"I am Harold. Keeper of this prison. Now if you would return my charge I will allow you a quick death." Insolent. Arrogant. Annoying. He stares blankly at you and then returns his helmet and draws his sword. "It is a fight then."

[10, 9, 7]
>2 pass 1 fail
> Success

In a quick flurry he charges at you in a battle cry. Harold raises his sword overhead and strikes downward so you bring your own blade up to meet his. The force of the impact cracks the blade but it does not break. You bend backwards and kick him in the chest which sends him back a few paces.

He is strong yet reckless in his strength. Winds stir as you conjure fire from the great beyond. Putting up your hands you send forth a wave of heat. A wave of ethereal fire. Smoke and ash come through as you burn him. The heat unbearable. You lower your hands to see the aftermath. The fried winds of angel-born.

The smoke clears and you hear the sound of moving metal plates. Peering through you see him stand and lower his blade. The floor around him shows evidence enough. Black marks surround him but they do not touch him. The nephilim laughs and then returns to his defensive posture with his sword raised.

In haste you fling bolts of fire forth. The nephilim makes slight movements you cannot see clearly and the bolts seemingly bounce off and dissipate. You look over your shoulder and call out to the group behind you. "Don't just stand there, come fight this foolish hero with me."

The lumbering mass of flesh comes walking forward and with each step all of its parts move in disturbing ways. Baskil is still a ways back with the rest of your marked tieflings. "By the gods.. what is that?"

"A friend. Actually they were yours." You say. As the nephilim realizes what you mean you smile at his justified disgust. Though you cannot see his expression you imagine it if revile.

"Foul." He says crisply. The Flesh Golem wades through toward the nephilim. The golem slashes at him with various farming equipment which Harold dodges easily while still focused on you.

I've played tabletop RPGs before, but I'm new to /qst/.... Are the 3d10 the attack dice or the damage dice or a combination of both? How do the mechanics work?
>>
>>1018586
It's just overall combat. Three successful rolls is a crit. Two successful rolls is a success. Two fails is a fail. Three fails is a critical failure.

There is no over complicated system of specific items have just combat assessment for the DC and depending on success or not the story will display the events.

The 1d100 is for everything else that isn't combat. So scouting, stealth, diplomacy, etc etc.

The golem's flurry of random swings of odd farmer's tools puts the nephilim in an awkward situation. You move in ever so slightly as the nephilim continues to gracefully dodge the wild onslaught of the golem. His moves are as if with intense power yet absolute control over it. The flesh golem is no match but he doesn't have to be. Him being there is simply enough for a slight miscalculation. A slip up.

And so it happens.

While ducking under a particularly high swing Harold had to duck down where the golem used his other arm to swing low. Forcing Harold to block using his blade. Opportunity that you do not pass up.

You swing your blade downward which catches the nephilim in the shoulder cutting deep into his thick armor. He is knocked off balance. The golem was able to hit the legs of the angel-born with a sharp axe. It too is imbedded within the thick plates. As you try to pull the blade loose it snaps in two and the nephilim is on his feet again. Though he moves fast you were able to see a key around his neck. What lock does it open?

You toss the blade handle down and present your fists. Though callus and powerful you do not think you can break his armor through sheer brute force. He is clever. You'll give him that. The nephilim seems to be disappointed and with regret calls out to his guards.

You decide to press the fight. Though the nephilim decides the same and ignores the golem as he charges forth. Though his movement is more sluggish with the extra improvements you and the golem made he still reaches you surprisingly fast. He turns and quickly parries another swing made by the golem.

He does not face you. Arrogant bastard. You take this time to swing your fist at his fancy helmet but as you reach out your fist the nephilim turns along with his blade and cuts deep into your side. Your punch falls short and you instinctively move back and hold your side. It doesn't just hurt -- it burns.

You notice the blade now simmers and looks as if on fire for a moment burning your blood off. Did it get shinier? Your side oozes of glowing red blood and you hold it tight with your arm. Pushed back and wounded you know you can't continue without a proper weapon. Though there are many improvised ones swinging in the many hands of the golem you doubt you can get one without the golem hurting you as well.

Baskil and two other tieflings reach you. Baskil looks at your wound and then back at the half giant dueling the abomination. "You look rough there."

The other two tieflings begin to pelt the nephilim with fire bolts. Though some make their mark most don't when he moves. 1d100

>Natural Critical Success.

His movements though quick become sluggish and slow. He becomes the same speed as any other... or are you as fast as him? The bolts of fire fly in the air at a slower pace and both sets of eyes track them. Each time he brings his blade up the flames seem to simply bounce off. Each movement with purpose. Each with timing. His blade is unique. A breaker of spells.

Yet his unnatural speed to meet the spells is not of his own. You can feel the tides of magicka as they ebb. He is using a spell. Clever.

But not clever enough.

————————•|||||

*Quicken - [[Enchantment]] - Speed up your movements and thinking ability ever so slightly. Can be used in combat but will be draining on the user.

————————•|||||

His quickness is enthralling. But as he fights the spells along with the flesh golem he cannot block the attacks of multiple assailants.

You turn to whistle calling upon your hounds and they come running. Turning to an empty cage you pry away a long iron bar from it and hold it up by your useable side. The hounds charge past you and grapple on different parts of the nephilim before he kicks them away. They make a whimper and begin to circle him.

Taking the iron bar you move toward the nephilim. His tricks. His arrogance. His downfall. The hounds converge the same time as you and the nephilim looks around at each of his assailants. He suddenly throws his hands around him and crouches magic surges forth in all directions pushing everyone back a small distance though the hounds were in mid air and were tossed a bit further.

You charge again and bring up the improvised weapon to your side. His focus is on the flesh golem who is now back at him as he was pushed the least. The two hounds again clamber up to him and latch on to his greaves. One of the hounds removes the axe which is now causing the nephilim to bleed a silky golden red blood.

As you near you use the clever little trick to speed up yourself. You go faster and faster than he does making the sudden impact of an iron bar the feeling of a falling boulder. Steel and iron crash together and you cleanly know off the helmet of Harold. Surprisingly he is still conscious but your bar is completely bent in a familiar helmet shape.

Rearing back you kick the nephilim in the chest while speeding yourself up exactly before the impact sending him flying back. During his sudden vacation trip he dropped his sword and it seems the impact loosened the key from his neck. You first try to pick up the blade but it burns you on touch. Instead of worrying you simply ignore the burn and carry it with you along with the key. You make your way to where the nephilim lies.

His breathing is ragged and his chest plate is caved in. His silk blood oozes from the bent plates and pools under him. You stand over him with your new toy in hand. "Cleverness is a good trait. Yet you will never out do a demon."

He gives a nod and accepts his fate. You take the blade and stab downward with both hands. A blinding light fills the room and suddenly dies out. The body of the nephilim has vanished yet his things have stayed. Damn magic users.

Your blade however changed. It no longer burns and it seems to have become corrupted by the blood of the nephilim.

You hand off the large key ring to Baskil who goes about unlocking the last holding cell. Many pour out but a few stay back to thank you personally. Fools. You are no savior. Are you?

You stop one of those who stayed back and you present the key. Though the key is ornate it looks to be wrought from stone itself. "Do you know what lock this key goes to?"

The former prisoner stares blankly and then another pushes past them. This one is much older than the others. "That key belongs to him. He is locked away but the skies do not say where. He was a smith of gods! He lives with trees and eats with stones. That warden held no honor for his kind and stole something of his. That key unlocks what was sealed for centuries!"

Another prisoner comes behind him and shuffles him away. "You shouldn't tell tales of some myth and your madding talks about them are certainly not needed you old bat."

All legends are based in truth. This key is something unknown still. After taking all of the things you can and making sure you left nothing behind including evidence of the warden's sad demise. The tieflings gather near the storage room and you make your way to them. Lilith suddenly appears in your head. Hello sweetie! Those guards are getting kinda tired so I sent them along on a vacation to some wonderful islands. I hear they are pretty this season. Where are you heading off to? Don't you want to claim the prison and later the city? You can always claim the city but..

You pause for a little bit thinking of the implications. You hold up your hand and the large group stops in their tracks. "Come back. We shouldn't waste this opportunity of free living space. We have out grown the temple."

Most of the prisoners look at each other with much of their expressions worry some with regret. "Now how'r we to survive in such?"

A human. Disrespect. "Here is where you will live or you will not live. I expect you to understand why living in a cramped temple wouldn't be any better."

You find him amongst the crowd and pull him along. He is weak in both mind and body. You hold him tight by the arm and he struggles. You summon heat from the palm of your hand and burn the imprint of your hand onto his arm. He squirms and squeals then you drop him. "Find the rest of the guards. Release the cages of the other prisoners. It seems we should pay our respects to the good men who allowed us refuge."

In hesitant unison some break off to go search the prison for guards. Others searched through the prison for anything of use.

————————

Over the next day the prison is alive with reconstruction projects and finding remnants of guards. The few marked ones you have were stationed at the entrance of the prison while it was actually barricaded and jammed shut. The prisoners found a few guards and Lilith managed to get those who were meant to sail away to come back before the break of dawn.

After hours of waiting the guards are amassed into a holding cell stripped of all valuables. The human prisoners wear guard armor and stay near the barricaded entrance of the need arises. Thirty guards stand separated between the three holding cells.

A head count was made by the original twelve and thirty-six new tieflings and twenty-six humans were set free including two elves and an orc who claims he once ate a man whole and has a pet troll. You explore the prison more thoroughly and find that the isolation chambers are empty and there is a rather large cell in the middle of a drop off of the stream. You ignore it for now and you return to find the ritual has been completely set up in under two days.

Can't we sacrifice to our own strength and magic? I want Roc to be greater. So far he's been lucky but he's gonna need real power when the light-siders really come for him...
>>

That's true how do we get more power

So if we eat souls we get stronger?
If so, let's eat the nephilim soul.

Yes. You can sacrifice the souls to you. Having Willing die will also give you their souls. But just having Willing counts only half of a soul. Other things like monsters can produce stronger souls. Nephilim can produce stronger souls though Harold's body and soul disappeared. You assume the sword consumed it.

Not to be needy but can I get a blurb on all of them too

Wrath - Berserker - A demon driving mad with hate. He will fly into battle with a blood lust often leaving friends behind. Can cause friendly fire.

Hate - Shade - Steeped in envy the shade is an assassin with deadly profiency. They are shape shifters but will always look out of place.

Gluttony - Gorger - A demon of immeasurable hunger. He can eat anything and often eats everything.

Lust - Succubus - Lewd.

Greed - Mammous - a demon who can do trade deals always with a large profit.

Pride - Fallen - Angel like demons who are often arrogant. General dicks but are great leaders.

Sloth - Belophus - Lazy and uses magic for everything.

I haven't written it out before. Sorry for the delay.

>Summon lesser demons
>Sacrafice!
>>
Alright let's get ourselves our damage train!! Choochooo!!

Wrath summon!
>>
>>1019800

> Sacrifice 25 of the captives to Summon 5 Demons of Wrath to help us steamroll any Nephilim and Hunters we encounter. We eat the souls of the Unwilling and the other 5 captives, to gain their power.

> We mark the Willing freed prisoners and allow them into our cult. If any refuse, they are allowed to go free in the countryside with a set of armor and weapons. We mark all of the Tieflings and indoctrinate them into our cult, if any refuse to be marked, we mark them as Unwilling because the Tiefling species needs the breeding stock and capable mages.
>>
Another lust demon wouldn't be bad but would it cause competition with Lillie?
Honestly since everyone complains about power wrath is the high priority but hate wouldn't be bad either.
>>
>>1019852
so one primal costs five souls right?
We could get us a demon of every primal.
But I'd say we get ourselves one Wrath, one Fallen, one Belophus and one Mammous.
The rest will be dregs.
>>
I think. A healthy mix of wrath and pride would be good
>>
>>1019906
The Mammous will help us once we travel, since he'll take care of bartering for supplies and the Belophus gives us an expert magician who can (or must if he's too lazy to) teach our tieflings.

Aw, shame.
BUT THIS GIVES ME ANOTHER IDEA!
If we manage to learn fleshcrafting (or make it learn to our necrodude), we could, theorethically, fuse demons to us.
Then, we can fuse a bunch of Belophus to ourself and have them throw spells around while we fight. Or we can fuse Wrath demons, to have more arms and shit.
Oh, the possibilities are just endless.
>>

I ran a loan business for over a decade. No one appreciates a Jew until they need one....

>>1020009
You're a maniac
>>
>>1020032
I feel insulted.
But just think a little. If we go through with the Belophus idea, they would even thank us! Because then, they wouldn't need to do any footslogging, just throw some spells around when we order them to. Their wildest dreams would come true!
Another thing, if we fuse a Mammous to ourselves, we have a portable businessman.
Imagine this: you're some wealthy weapon merchant, residing in a city that just got conquered by some Demon Lord. This huge, red, horned Abomination comes into your home. He turns around, and there's a completely different demon that starts debating the quality of your product.
Glorious, isn't it?
Another suggestion: we fuse a bunch of Fallen heads to us (just the heads, we'll figure a way to keep them alive somehow), and suddently, you have a whole council of advisors at your disposal at any time.
Sure, we will become a horrifying sight for both men and gods alike, but that's what armor was made for, no?

The original twelve have spoken to many of the tieflings and they almost unanimously agreed to join. A few wouldn't but after a couple of chats they agreed. All thirty-six tiefling prisoners joined the ranks without any delay. Though this was not that easy for humans. You gathered the large ensemble in front of the summoning circles. "Today marks the first official day of retribution. Those who do not seek this vengeance raise you hand so you can leave."

Multiple humans -- around eight -- raised their hands including the one you burnt. "Come forwards my few."

With hesitation the small group gathers at your feet. You look at the original twelve and nod. "Today also marks the day to knowing. Those who wish to flee will be dealt the same gracious hand after refusing my fine proposal. Tie them."

The tieflings quickly surround the eight and hold them down as rope and chains are strapped to them. "Fools deny justice. Justice is what you all seek yes? Against those who let you rot. Take my hand and the promise I make is prosperity. Return the lands to the rightful heirs."

The rest of the humans willingly accepted your mark as the eight struggled against their bindings. "Bring the rest of them in. The guards are all unwilling. They are the putrid rot which grew overnight."

The guards are shuffled into the large circle and you find yourself starring at thirty-eight pairs of eyes. Words. Hallow like the bones of birds. Easy to take flight. Easily broken.

You stand at the edge of the massive circle and the original begins the chant. Awkwardly the rest of the group chimes in on repeated parts or hums the whole way through. You, however, speak the loudest but within your own tongue. Conjuring forth a mighty beacon of liturgy. Each word memorized and spoken perfectly as you weave it into the chant. Winds gather and soon become screamingly loud as the souls of the damn pour through. You feel eight souls pass through you. The feeling of ecstasy floods your body.

Smoke, ash, and foul stench pours into the room. Much of the circle begin coughing and the rest stop except for you. Slowly you slow down your fanaticism as the dust settles. Six sets of eyes pierce through staring at you. Mammous. Greed. Fallen. Pride. Balophus. Sloth. Berserker. Wrath. These feelings sway across your being yet you are unaffected. The berserkers stay silent as the short chubby Mammous walks around inspecting the various metals of the people. Balophus, a thin looking demon, stands still hunched over snoring. The Fallen stands staring in disgust as he spreads his black feathered wings.

"Wonderful!" The Mammous speaks up first as he stands in front of you. His voice slimy and graining. He stares at your newly acquired blade. "A gift I see! How was our kind given something from the divines.. hmmm?"

>Cont.
>>
>>1020178
"Found it." You say plainly. You then point the demons in the way of isolated chambers where they can stay or set up something. The mammous says he cal sell things given they have a price. The fallen ignores you and heads into a large cell. The Balophus is still asleep in the circle. The three Berserkers take a holding cell.

We could do that, i guess.
But you assume that they'll constantly talk and bicker among themselves.
Well, i trust in Roc's leadership, and the Fallen's common sense when put in such a situation. Just because they're assholes, dosen't mean they're completely retarded. And more imprtantly, it dosen't mean they have to be assholes with eachother. We'll make them focus their dickishness to the Nephilim. But, if it comes to that, we sure can hook them up to a machine or something.
>>1020177
But having a bunch of demons sewn to eachother IS Awe-inspiring and Intimidating (especially this), if DONE RIGHT. We won't just be an abomination of mis-matched parts and meat sewn together. We'll have a more big, hulking, intimidating appearance. Our enemies will fear us, and our followers will stare in awe at our perfect form.
As i said before, if you just put the demons in the right place (Gorger on the torso, Fallen maybe around the neck, Belophus on the back, and so on) you can achieve a very horrifying but still glorious visage. Especially if you want to give off that "Dark Overlord" vibe.

The circle disperses and you leave them to be. You decide to find the Fallen to speak with him about the current play of things. On your way you find the Mammous eyeing the nephilim' armor. He is pawing at it intensely but he doesn't see you.

"Mammous. It would serve you well to keep your prying hands at bay." You crouch down to meet him at eye level. "I can give you anything that this land has to offer only if you are to obey me. If not..."

You point towards the berserkers within their cage. They are banging their head against the bars and looking generally pissed. "They will take you off of my hands. Do not disappoint me."

The demon looks at you and then back at the berserkers then back at you then finally he looks down at the shiny armor before he gives a solum look and drops it. He wanders off to pester some others and you find your way to the Fallen's cell. He seems to have found the biggest one and is staring out through the hole above. "Fallen I have som--"

The demon shushes you putting up a finger and then tears his attention from the view to look at you. "What could you possibly want?"

"I'll speak plainly then. Th--"

"I'd rather you not speak at all."

"--ere." You stare at the fallen squinting your eyes. "You will do as I say you will share the same fate like the rest of your brothers, fallen. Forsaken by your own kind and hated by the ones you seek refuge with. Keep your mouth shut before I do it for you."

"Ahem." The Fallen looks as if he is to say something and then suddenly becomes crestfallen. "Speak then."

"Good." You pause. "The current situation is that we are in a prison. We have a succubus with the noble under her thumb--"

"Under HIS thumb" The Fallen speaks up matter of factly.

"Succubi have no true gender.." you pause again. "We have a succubus with the noble under HER thumb and she can suggest things to him if we need. Currently I've been gathering the remnants of tieflings. We heard of some in a tower not far from here and in a forest not far from here."

You tell him also of the current numbers and other supplies. "You could take this city. With all the spies you have here and the succubus. Though I wouldn't recommend it. Those ships.. heading to the tower soon.. will be our way of contacting the tower though we would need to mark many more unwilling to pilot the two ships as well as smuggle the entirely of the tower. Or you could move to the northern continent. Though I doubt the tieflings will follow since the plan was to simply retake this island, yes?"

>cont
>>
>>1020463
You discuss things with him about minor details that seem all too boring. The Fallen talks ages about the politics of a distant place he has helped take over and feels he is perfect for the task of going over seas to discuss things with the northern region. He says the nephilim will surely attack and win if they find out about the prison. He states that you need the people of this city to willingly follow to claim it without war breaking out entirely too early.

After an earful of information and nearly an entire day of speaking to the Fallen you leave him to his wonderings about holes in ceilings.

Unwilling can become willing...

I want my charges to feel like they are a part of something powerful. I want them to feel energized and privileged every time they think of my mark on them. I want them fanatic, and "full of the spirit". I want them out spreading a vibe and making bringing unwilling into the willing fold.

> [B] After that, we'll speak to Lilith and learn more about the smith of gods.

> After that, we'll talk to the Berserkers and establish our authority. If they behave themselves, we'll allow them the chance to ravage a nearby village, and spend a night with Lilith, if they have a sex drive, that is.

> I am firmly against the suggestion to fuse many demons to Roc, his power should be his, and his alone. If we intend to rise to the rank of Primal, we cannot be dependent on the strength of others.

> Let's develop our own power and command our minions like a proper Demon Lord, instead of stitching them to ourselves like some twisted lowly mortal Fleshcrafter.

> We need to have the Necromancer sculpt a few more Flesh Golems out of the corpses, preferably at least 4. He'll leave a few of the stronger corpses alone, and use them to study the art of Zombification.

> The Tiefling will master the arcane arts under the Balopus. The Humans will train to master melee combat in between laboring to further fortify the prison, with trenches, wooden spikes in hallways, etc.
>>
>>1020607
You DARE cause conflict by unbalacing the balance i have worked so hard to create?
Why strive for something so bleak and uninteresting like the power of one Primal, when you can have all of them at your whim, just awaiting your orders? The highest honour given to a Demon Lord's underlings should be to become one with their master! And once we become one with all of the Primals, who will be there to stop us, save from the King of Hell itself? We can achieve our own power without depending on others, but i just seek to grease the wheels that move along our strenghtening!
And think about our enemies: they expect the traditional warlord, with generals and officers that can easily be picked off by the trained assassin. But what would happen when to cut one head, one has to cut them all?
You see, what i propose is the fastest and easiest way to increase our power.
And don't forget that we don't necessairly have to follow one or another suggestion. We can fuse other demons to ourselves, while still having traditional underlings.
>>

>>1020585

After the long winded conversation with the Fallen you head back to look for Lilith. On your way you find that the Balophus is still there but he has fallen down and is curled up in a ball of laziness. You walk over to him and you nudge him with your foot. He slowly rises and floats with his head bowed. "You-va-wannd-sommin?"

The way he speaks is even lazily constructed sentences of nearly inaudible mumbling. "Do you know about flesh-crafting or necromancy by any chance?"

"Nekromincy? Whyd-you-ven-wannat?" He says in a slow yet quiet way. "Yo-ken-jest-zummin-daymens."

"Hmm. Well do you know of any magic you can teach the tieflings?"

"I guess but.. that's-adda-werk. Maybe later." He says and then slowly drifts away to some higher cell and sleeps.

You decide to just find a way to contact Lilith before you run into Baskil and a few tieflings. Some how he found robes for them too.. or does he sew them himself? Maybe his sister does? "Oh hello Roc. These initiates believe they can help with finding about the Tower."

"Ah."

"We came here from the boats just a few days back. Before that our group was a part of the group in the Tower. They have been there for two years and didn't want to leave. But we left and.."

"Short version?"

"Ah well we are from the Tower. If you want contact we can help." The tiefling bows their head and walks off with the other. Baskil stays however and he seems to want to say something.

"Speak Baskil."

"Ah. So my sister keeps bugging me about asking you to help find an illusion book so she can teach as well." He says and in the corner of your eye you can see his sister pop her head out from behind a corner and then go back. Baskil then hands you a book. "We have also elected a council in remembrance of the past one but without the more broken bits. We ask of you to overlook some things."

"I'll.. look into it if I have the time. There seems to be plenty to do around here." As you look over the book that Baskil handed you. You furrow your hairless brow as you look through the pages. You decide on a few options to look over yourself the other more minor problems can be handled by the Council. Though you originally meant to find Lilith she can wait but you wanted to ask her something.

You keep onto the book and place it between your large belt and your waist. You stare at Baskil for a moment. "Do you know where Lilith is? A diseased man told me of something.. disturbing."

"Can't she use telepathy? Pretty sure she will come." You then walk away from him to go find Lilith. You walk around the prison for a small while before a certain familiar voice calls out. Heard you were looking for me. I'm sorry that I was busy with some.. certain nobles~.

After another couple of minutes Lilith finds you looking at the cage in the center of a stream drop off. "Ah~ it's so good to be wanted.. so.. what exactly did you want to talk about, Hmm?"

"Something an old tiefling said was bothering me. I found this key that was held by the nephilim acting as Warden here and the Old man said this is a key to find something stolen from the smith of the Gods."

"Hmm.. no. No smith of the gods sadly." She says in a toying voice. You then repeat word for word of what the man told you.

"Do you know what it could mean then?"

"Smith of the gods? Hmm.. perhaps he meant.. ahh.." she says as a wicked yet enticing smile creeps across her face.

"Yes?" You say plainly unamused.

"Smithed by the gods. Perhaps.. it could be.." she teases. "No god at all."

"Explain Lilith. I'm quite tired of games."

"Are you saying you don't know what I'm talking about?" She asks. You stare at her blankly. "Oh.. oh my you're not kidding? I've heard of things Wrath does to his people but I've never knew.."

"Get to the point already." You said growing in anger.

"The great Roc doesn't know about something. Sad." She says looking disdainful. You sigh loudly and clearly show you're tired of her little game.

"Just tell me."

"It's..."

"Yes?"

"It just has to be..."

"Go on."

"It's your son."

I meant when roc was a demon lord, i start to read but i lost :/
>>
>>1035365
We don't know what Roc did when he was a Demon Lord.

If you're referring to my old civ thread then I assure you that this is completely separate from that story. That story isn't canon to this and I really just didn't like how that story ended/was.
>>
>>1035365
Every story's got to start somewhere. This one started ITT. We don't know much about Roc's earlier times.
