>INITIALIZING TIA-87X ARMOUR
>NEW DRIVERS DETECTED, INSTALLING...
>WRN: REBREATHER LOOSE, PLEASE ENSURE REBREATHER IS PROPERLY ATTACHED

“Any problems with the armour?” Dr. Rosenberg asks as he continues to look at several monitors in the dimly lit hotel room.

“It was stiff before, but it seems to be becoming just as flexible as it was before.” you reply rolling your shoulders.

“Osvald did some repairs on it after the last encounter, though the damage to the rebreather was extensive. He’s not able to repair it without some kind of moonsilver.” Dr. Rosenberg says spinning around towards you, wearing a t-shirt with some blond haired woman holding a Northern style blue and gold sword.

“Isn’t that a bit dangerous?” you ask pointing to the wrapping around your mouth. “Wrapping cloth the rebreather to keep it in place? This literally the lowest effort repair job I’ve seen on a multi-million dollar armour.”

“It wasn’t even needed in the first place as Alchemical’s don’t need to breathe. If it ever becomes an issue, just simply hold your breath.” Dr. Rosenberg says.

“Actually I think it fits you quite well. Makes you look like a real ninja.” Dexter says walking into the room along with Osvald.

“It's a hazard in battle. It’s long and provides something for the enemy to grab a hold of in battle.” you reply to him.

“For you, I could turn it into something like a sledgehammer.” Dexter replies with a grin on his face.

“I don’t see how that benefits me.” you reply.

“Is Hibiki ready for operations?” Osvald asks Dr. Rosenberg.

“Only minor subsystems are left and they’ll be active within the hour.” Dr. Rosenberg replies.

“Hibiki I have a task for you.” Osvald says turning his attention towards you.

“Thank you Osvald, I am feeling fine.” you sarcastically reply towards him.

“As of late, there have been anomalies in certain within the city. I have not been able to properly scan such areas, and until I have data on such places my margin of error increases by unacceptable levels.” Osvald explains, and panel opening up on the side of his arm and handing you a single syringe of grey material. “You make take this just in case you encounter anything dangerous within the area, but I doubt that will be the case.”

>What is this quest?

Alchemical Blade Prequel Quest, a quest set in the Modern version of Creation from the Exalted setting, focusing on how the robotic Alchemical Exalted came to be within the setting. If you love hints of Cyberpunk and high action quests, then you may enjoy this quest.

>Who are we?

The quest is mainly going to be played out in flashbacks, in which during the flashbacks we take control of the Moonsilver caste Alchemical Exalted Junpaku Hibiki, while in the current time you play as “Anonymous”. The game will take place within the city of Versino within the central continent of Creation Meruvia. Labelled as a dangerous and murderous science experiment gone rogue, you need to evade forces of the mightiest army within Creation sprinkled with the powerful Elemental supersoldiers known as the Dragonblooded, trying to find out who is responsible for what you’ve become and how to escape their clutches once and for all.

>Alchemical? Moonsilver? I don’t know anything about Exalted, much less Modern Exalted...

I’ve made this quest to be as friendly to newbies as possible, and I also see it as an introductory guide to the World of Modern Exalted. You can google “1d4chan Exalted” for information on the general vanilla setting, but what I’ll be using is the Modern Version of Exalted as shown in “Shards of the Exalted Dream” book, in where its Alchemicals are quite different than those of Vanilla Exalted. Feel free to ask any question about Exalted in the thread and I will do my best to answer it.

>System?

Dicepool system. When performing an action, everyone rolls a number of d10’s based on what the action is (I will list the pools for most actions, but if you want to have a roll for an action, ask and I’ll make the dicepool for it). The first roll is the one that’ll be used, but if someone makes another roll for a different action and more people vote for that, I’ll be using that one instead.

>This seems hella complicated, is there any way you can boil things down for me?

http://pastebin.com/NexXpPC1

>XP?

Favored Attributes cost 4 XP per dot to increase (Underlined on stat sheet when released) while non-favored ones cost 5 XP. Abilities themselves cost 3 XP per dot to increase naturally. All charms cost 6 XP per purchase with Dedicated slots costing 4 XP each and General ones costing 6 XP each. At the end of every “mission” (In game objectives set by either me or some goal the audience desires) you will be presented with a possible acquisition list of charms. Experience can also be gained by developing the character, learning about the world, or just in general things people find interesting.

“Anomalies within the city? What do you mean by that exactly?” you ask.

“Anomalies could mean anything from greys to a demon gate from hell opening up in the city Osvald. You need to be specific.” Dexter replies.

“It could be any one of those things.” Osvald replies.

Dexter’s face goes wide in shock upon hearing this. “Are you being serious? I was joking.”

“I know, still doesn’t stop it from being within the realm of plausibility.” Osvald replies.

“Osvald, can you explain, in very simple words, what exactly I’ll be going into?” you clarify so Osvald doesn’t skip on the details.

“I’m not sure, but most of my primary hypotheses show a breakdown in reality within the local area.” Osvald replies. “Physical laws may be weaker within such areas or brand new laws may occur.”

“So you’re talking like the Wyld at the edges of Creation? Like that in between Creation and the Elemental Courts?” you ask.

“Precisely.” Osvald replies.

“How did these things appear in the first place?” Dexter asks. “As far as I know the only place in the world where such a thing exists is inside of Nexus and the middle of nowhere in the Western Ocean.”

“I do not know, that’s why I’m hoping to collect data inside.” Osvald states. “All Hibiki would need to do is go in, look around, and walk right back out. If anything appears strange or unusual, she simply includes those in my report back to me.”

- “All I need to do is look around? This sounds too easy.”

“Is this safe? Like don’t horrifically mutated mutants live within the Wyld?” you ask.

“It isn’t the Wyld as of yet. Even if it was, such mutated people need to spend years in the wyld, and often it’s not like in the movies.” Osvald replies.

“Dexter, you know if he’s telling the truth?” you ask.

Dexter shrugs. “I never went near the Wyld, all of my deployment zones were inside of Creation. If I was in deep cover inside the Elemental Courts like some other agents, then I either wouldn’t be here right now or I’d be dead. There’s in-between for those kinds of assignments.”

“Do I have any backup?” you ask.

“The area is nearby the church Father Marcellius visits and Wendy claims she is investigating the nearby area for military personnel movements. If you encounter a problem help will not be far away.” Osvald explains. “The chances of needing such help however are about 2.128%, at least without military or gremlin involvement.”

“Thanks for leaving out the two biggest cases of death in the city for Alchemicals.” you sigh as you begin to head out.

“Don’t get too far ahead of yourself!” Dr. Rosenberg calls out as you begin to head out.

******

As you head towards the area that Osvald told you about, the entire area is a literal ghost town. Not a single soul appears throughout the metal husks of burned out cars and partially leveled buildings. You stand atop a pile of rubble in the middle of the street with your cloak engaged, eyes scanning for anything abnormal, but can’t see anything immediately.

“I don’t see anything odd about this area. Maybe Osvald was wrong.” you mutter to yourself as you hop off the pile of rubble, continuing down the street as your eyes idly wander about the street.

As you go around the corner, your mind weighs heavily on recent events. After what happened with both John Doe and Shouko in such a short span of time, you’re not even sure what you’ll do once you even escape this island prison. You know that you’ve caught the glispe of a rabbit hole, but that same part of you warns that you’ve only see the surface at an angle. To survive you need to go down that hole, and you thought you were prepared for that. After recent events however, you’re just not sure anymore.

You give a soft sigh as you notice the softly descending snowflakes in front of your face, falling down to the ground as your feet crunch on the snow below. Certainly a b-

“Snow!?” you yell out in shock, nearly jumping out of your skin. You quickly look around in a panic, seeing that the entire street around you is blanketed in a thick layer of snow that covers all the cars and buildings in front of you.

Your eyes race to the sky as you wonder if you another Hielo Bird or some other sort of Elemental in the air, but all you can see are light grey clouds above.

In a panic, you race back with the steps you took, running around the corner and looking back down the street. The rubble you stepped on before just minutes ago isn’t there anymore. In fact the entire street seems to be clean of large rubble from destroyed buildings, only rusted hulks of cars dotting the streets.

“The 9 percent happened, of course it did.” you mutter with a sigh as you shake your head in disbelief.

“Let’s see if a bird’s eye view will make sense out of this.” you mutter as you engage your gravity manipulation device, slowly walking up the wall as you constantly gaze out on the buildings around you. They appear to be far older now that you closely look at them. Versino had some older high rises yes, but these buildings appear to literally hundreds of years old. The ravages of war are evident on these buildings yes, but unlike the newer explosions in Versino these appear to be far, far older.

Climbing to the top of the building, you turn around and sit on top of a concrete pillar, your eyes nearly popping out from shock. Off in the distance on the other end of the city, you can see endless clouds of smoke coming off from the buildings, eyes zooming in to show medieval levels of technology as horse drawn carriages can be seen being pulled through the streets alongside with armed knights in metal armour and swords. All alongside a massive castle that seems to rise out of the middle of the city, displaying a single banner that appears to be a crest of a heart with four pairs of bat wings all around it.

As much as you continue to stare and wish that this was indeed a renaissance fair, the utter lack of other identifies clues you in. There is no vast ocean that you normally see when you climb a building, no drones or helicopters flying through the air, hell not even a single piece of technology past the 1700’s from what you can see.

You give a small sigh as the sheer weight of reality falls on your shoulders. “Great... You know mal I didn’t have this in mind when I said I was willing to do anything to leave Versino.”

- Investigate the building for evidence, see exactly where, and when, you are.

- Head into the main town area, best way to find out is by up front information

Lets try to see if we can cover ourselves with anything.
>>
“Alright... Think. If I were Wendy or Osvald, than the first thing you’d do is to get direct intelligence on an area in order to not be completely blind.” you mutter as you jump back down to the ground, landing in the middle of the street as plumes of snow rise up from all directions.

You begin to search through the shops for something to cover yourself with. If this is medieval times, than wearing an advanced power armour nearly 600 or so years from the future is going to cause a few heads to turn, but at the same time you’re not willing to remove it. One of the main reasons being is that its climate control is one of the only things keeping you warm right now.

After exploring a few shops you find out that all of them have been looted a long, long, LONG time ago. However by a sheer stroke of luck you manage to find what appears to be a textile fabric shop on one of the upper floors of the building. Taking the dark brown piece of fabric, cutting and sizing it up to be about your size before putting it on, neatly covering your entire body and your face from casual glances.

Taking your cloak and heading into the city, it doesn’t take long for the commotion of the city to come to light with all of the vim and vigor of a classic medieval society. Open stalls selling what appear to be liquid water and vegetables using pieces of gold, silver, and copper. Watches from well armed guards with weapons carefully keep track of your movements as you wander through the streets. Wooden signs hang from nearly buildings as horses graze in a stable next the bar. All of the buildings down the street in this direction appearing to be made of wood with classical medieval or renaissance style with the more high class areas housed within the ruins of the older buildings.

“I wish I had money to get a drink.” you sigh to yourself as you continue to walk down the street.

“Help! Thief!” A woman from down the street seems to yell out.

Glancing towards the direction of the yelling, you can see what is best described as a large ball of fur and muscle, dressed in the clothing of a man charging towards your direction, his fist holding something inside of them as he barrels down the street, shoving a good samaritan who was standing in his way aside.

Your eyes go wide in disbelief yet again, an actual Werewolf!? Here!? Now!?

You can hear the guards down the street, but they’re on the other end of the street. By the time they arrive that Werewolf is probably going have dodged into a nearby alleyway and have escaped.

- Take out your blade, end this in a single slash

- Take out your weapon in order to threaten the werewolf, but don’t actually attack.

- Attempt to stop him using your unarmed skills

- Leave him, getting involved would bring unwanted attention, especially from the guards

This is a terrible idea but so Hibiki-like!
>>
(“Good grief...”) you complain as you slowly move your hand to the sword by your side under your cloak.

Just as the Werewolf is about to pass you, a silver flash flies up directly towards the Werewolf stopping only scant millimeters from his neck, eyes flashing wide in fear upon realizing what’s at his neck.

“I believe you have something that belongs to someone else.” you simply tell the werewolf.

While your body is still covered by the cloak, the brilliant sheen of your sword draws attention from nearly everyone in the area, onlooker gazes steadily affixed to you.

The Werewolf’s eyes dart between you and the oncoming guards behind you, it doesn’t take long for the Werewolf to decide in this case.

“Take it!” The Werewolf says throwing a small coin purse to the ground, turning tail quite literally back towards the display of the open air market.

“Don’t come back.” You say sliding the sword back inside of your sheath, reaching down to pick up the coinpurse.

“After him!” A female guard calls out to two members aside of her, both of them directly running by you and after the werewolf that has escaped.

“I believe this belongs to you.” you say as you toss the coin purse back to a nearby onlooker, the woman reaching up and catching it with her hand.

The blond haired woman wearing what appears to be a racoon hat reaches out to catch the coin purse, her face lighting up estatically. “O-Oh, T-Thank you so much!”

“Halt! You there!” a woman behind your says.

“Here it comes...” you mutter as you turn around.

As you turn around you can see what appears to be two females standing behind you, one of them appearing to be in her mid-twenties while the other appears to be a young teenager. Both of them are wearing what appear to be light purple and black leather armour with swords at their sides. “That was a fancy sword stranger. Are you an adventurer?”

“Her arm... It looked so strange!” a curious onlooker says. “Shining silver with black tubes underneath it!”

“Black tubes? That sounds like something the University would make.” the younger one says after a moment of thinking. “Are you from the University?”

Oh, it must be some sort of alternate dimension Versino in this case.

- “Yes I’m an adventurer.”

- “Yes, I’m from the University.”

- “I escaped from the university if that’s what you mean.”

>>
Playing around for now may be the best thing you can do currently. You’ve already attached enough suspicion for now.

“Yes, I’m an adventurer. I just recently came into town no less than a half hour ago.” you reply to the guards.

“New adventurer? Well the law of these lands says you have to register at the Adventurer’s Guild before taking part of any quests.” the younger girl says. “You helped that woman get her money back, so we’ll let it slide for now.”

You tilt your head at the younger one, her voice and height definately giving away her age. “You appear to be a bit short to be a guard. Is it take your kid to work day?”

The younger guard goes slack jawed upon hearing this, her face a mixture of shock, disbelief, and anger. “A kid!? Excuse me but I’m 37 years old!”

“She’s new to town Risa, let it slide for now.” the other guard warns her.

“Should charge her just for saying that alone.” The ‘younger’ guard says walking away muttering to herself. “You think someone has never seen a Laminian before, but no! Apparently some people live under rocks!”

“Guess looks can be deceiving.” you say as you watch the two walk off.

“Excuse me!” The woman whose coin purse you returned walks up to you, some blond hair just peeking out from behind her racoon hat and dressed in what appears to be a casual black dress and warm winter coat made from animal fur. “Again I have to thank you for getting my coin purse back! It took me nearly a month to get these funds!”

“It wasn’t any problem.” you reply to her.

“Still, you don’t seem to be from around here, but the weapons and armour you carry seem to be amazingly high quality...” The woman says looking over you deeply, before making a small hop back with a nervous laugh. “Oh sorry! I have a bad habit of staring! You mind telling me where you’re from?”

- “A place called Versino, although I can tell this place isn’t it.”

- “Let’s make a trade, tell me where I am first.”

“A place called Versino, although I can tell this place isn’t it.” you reply as you look around the shopping plaza. “This might sound silly but can you tell me where I am currently?”

The woman tilts her head wondering if you’re serious, raising an eyebrow at the same time. “You’re in Old TO right now. You know, on the planet Earth.”

(“I changed planets!? Damnit!”) you curse out in your native tongue.

“You... didn’t come here in the city portal did you?” the woman asks you.

“No idea what that is.” you quickly reply.

“You... want to discuss this over some lunch?” the woman asks.

“I’d be grateful if you did.” you reply, your entire body becoming more and more tense.

“Over here, I know a good spot.” the woman says as she leads you down the street. “Oh, my name is Viletta, nice to meet you!”

“Junpaku, and likewise.” you say keeping your calm for now.

******

You take a big sip from your tea, taking a long moment to collect all of the thoughts in your head before placing it back down on the table. “So... let me get this straight.”

Viletta looks up at you in the middle of reaching for a nearby cookie.

“I’m on a planet called Earth, where hundreds of years ago a group of demons calling themselves the Pride Demons took over Earth and made this city into a slum for Succubi, but just recently a Succubus going by the name of...”

“Brooklyn.” Viletta says after a few seconds of pause from you.

“Brooklyn overthrew the Pride Demon Lord in this area known as Articus, and is now ruling this area. In additional people known as adventurers literally go out and do adventuring things like in the fantasy novels from my world.” you reply.

“I’m surprised they don’t have adventurers in your world! At least they don’t by the sounds of your voice.” Viletta says eating a cookie. “I mean what do you do if a Dragon or goblin horde attacks a village?”
>>
[2/2]

“Then the military is there within hours to kill every single one of them!” you mutter as your head impacts the table in front of you. “Predator Drones will sweep up the rest.”

You give a small groan as you turn to look at the teahouse you’re in once more, or tea mansion is a more apt word for it. Nearly three floors with bright red wallpaper and gold pillars overlook the entire room. The entire place seems to have lively crowd of people of all stripes and ages, most of them wearing normal clothing but the occasional person wearing armour can be seen.

“Predator Drones? So you train animals to protect your villages?” Viletta asks.

“I want to go home now...” you mutter into the table as you lift your head back up. “And you... You’re a Succubus as well?”

“Yup! I’m an Okarian caste Succubus! We excel in magic but in exchange our bodies are a bit more frail than other Succubi.” Viletta says taking off her raccoon hat showing two large sweeping horns underneath, both of which appear pitch black.

“Great, I’m in a fantasy world...” you mutter to yourself.

“What about you Hibiki? Where do you come from? Why is your skin so white and why is that red gem in your forehead?” Viletta then asks you.

- “I’m a type a robot, please tell me you know what that is.”

- “I’m an Alchemical, though I’m still learning what that means exactly myself.”

And

"I'm an Alchemical, a nano-mechanically augmented person.” you reply back to Viletta.

“...OK?” Viletta asks in a confused tone of voice.

“...Human, a human with their own magical source.” you clarify for her.

“Oh an Enlightened human! That makes sense then!” Viletta comments.

“Yea exactly.” you reply to her. “Still I can’t stay here forever. I need to get back to Versino as soon as possible.”

“Why are you in such a rush? You’re probably going to be here for some time. I mean I don’t know about accidental translocations, but they have to be pretty hard to reverse.” Viletta tells you.

“People are depending on me back home. If I don’t get back then one the greatest injustices the world has ever known is going to go unpunished.” you reply to Viletta, hand tightening up in frustration and anger.

“Oh? Do I sense a story? As a Bard I’m always on the lookout for new stories!” Viletta tells you.

“I have a feeling you’re not going to like it, but if you’re ready then I’ll tell you all about the pure hell I’ve been through in the past month.” you tell Viletta.

“I’ve heard some pretty dark stories before, try me.” Viletta says confidently.

As you progress through your story, going through with how you ended up at Versino, the horrible treatment all the Alchemicals had down there, your escape, John Doe’s seemingly godlike reality warping powers, your sister’s betrayal, and all of the dramatic encounters you had in between. Viletta’s face grows wider and wider with each passing moment, going from confident to one of utter horror.

“...And after doing Osvald’s little ‘favor’, I’m now trapped here.” you say finishing up the story.

“I... That’s... Wow.” Viletta says stunned a few seconds later. “Now I know why you want head back so quickly.”

“Exactly, I can’t abandon my friends. So I need to know the quickest way out of here.” you reply.

“Well one of the strongest people in the area right now would have to be the Demon Lord of these Frozen lands Brooklyn Browning. From what I heard she’s a sucker for great stories. Give her the same story and I’m pretty sure she’ll gladly help you out.” Viletta explains.

“And she lives in that giant castle in the middle of town?” you ask.

“That’s the one!” Viletta explains. “Right now she’s still busy taking challengers as Articus was only beaten a short time ago, but I’m sure she’ll be more than happy to see you!”

“What kind of person is this Brooklyn exactly?” you ask Viletta.

“Oh Brooklyn is a great person!” Viletta immediately and eagerly replies. “It’s like... she understands the plight of the common man, so she’s all for helping us. She even managed to help uplift the image of Succubi in the eyes of mortals and saved us from oppression from both the Pride Demons, Celestia, and more!”

“If that’s the case why are people trying to beat her?” you ask.

“Oh that’s just demon politics! After a new position is taken up by a demon they have to demand if anyone contests their rule. If people don’t agree to it, they can challenge them in ritual combat in order to take over their position.” Viletta replies. “Since Brooklyn only beat Articus a little while ago and just recovered, challengers are now pouring in. She’s a good leader, but many people don’t want to pass up the opportunity to potentially rule a country and the wealth that it contains.”

“And this is done for days?” you ask Viletta in disbelief.

“Yes, but not everyone fights Brooklyn. Usually you need to get past a demon lord’s bodyguards first, or any allies who agree to help him. Brooklyn herself has many strong friends, so this is probably an annoyance more than anything else for her.”

You give a small sigh as you hear this. “How long would it take getting an audience with her then? I doubt it's as easy as just walking in.”

“I’m not sure, depends on how long the challenger line is.” Viletta replies.

“Of course it does.” you say uttering a small annoyance. “Worse case scenario then, do you know if it's possible to use the same dimensional rift I came through in the first place to go back? Like to re-open it or something?”

Viletta’s eyes go wide, placing her hands defensively in front of her. “Oh no! I don’t know space at all! The only areas of magic I know of are Life and Fire. All I know for sure is that dimensional rifts are the area of Space magic or those wacky Miyians. I suggested Brooklyn as I’ve seen her use space magic before, and I know she’s powerful enough to help you!”

“I don’t have time to waste with lines, people’s lives are at stake for every remaining moment I spend here.” you reply. “Do you know anything about the castle?”

“I know if you want to sneak in most people take the East side entrance, climb up the walls and enter by the stained glass windows, but you’d either need to climb walls or fly for that.” Viletta states.

“Already covered. Let’s go as soon as we can.” you tell Viletta as you sit up.

“A-Ah! Right!” Viletta says hastily bringing out her coin purse, throwing a few silver coins on the table before reaching for her racoon hat.

*****

After heading downtown the main central castle, you can see what Viletta meant by a long line as both of you look on from the ruins of a skyscraper. The line for challengers literally goes on far down the street, with creatures of every shape, size, and colour waiting outside the duel large doors in the front.

“Wow you were right about sneaking in, going through that entire line would’ve taken forever.” Viletta says looking down below at the line.

“I had a feeling it’d be bad, but not this bad.” you say looking down below.

“Are you sure about sneaking in? I mean Brooklyn is bound to have Laminians and Gemelli caste Succubi in there, both of them are very good at sensing others.” Viletta asks.

“Trust me, I’m very good at sneaking in.” you say to Viletta before turning to face her. “Well, I guess this is where we say goodbye.”

“Yea... Sorry I couldn’t be of more help...” Viletta says looking down, before her eyes widen with excitement and life. “Oh! I know! Could I share your story with the rest of the people in this world!?”

“Pardon?” you ask.

“You have such an interesting and exciting story to tell the world! I think your plight deserves to be told as a warning to people, even if there is no solid ending!” Viletta says estatically. “Plus I’m in it, so that makes it even better!”

...Well true, anything that happens in this world is likely to stay in this world.

“Wait a second, just out of curiosity, why is it common knowledge how to sneak into Brooklyn’s castle?” you ask. “It seems like this sort of thing happens very often.”

“Oh that! I just asked some adventurers and demons on the side after they lost in the castle is all!” Viletta replies.

“That seems to be a closely guarded secret one would have to pay money for.” you reply.

“Well... In this economy a girl’s gotta make a living any way she c-”

“Say no more.” you immediately cut Viletta off. “As for my story, tell it the same way I told you, do not gloss over the details and let people form their own opinions of the event and myself.”

“Will do!” Viletta says, her entire body visibly shaking with excitement.

“Also do you mind giving me your location before I depart? I’ll be glad if I can see you before I leave this place.” you say to her.

“Oh wow really!? Sure! 3122 Main Street, apartment 302!” Viletta replies in a eager tone, sounding as if her hero is going to come and visit her. “Still I wish I could do more for you! Tea and biscuits doesn’t seem like a fair trade at all considering the amazing story you gave me!”

As you turn your attention towards the castle itself, eyes zooming in on the guards placed on the rooftops as they keep on eye below, an idea comes to your head. “...Actually there is one idea I have. You said you could control fire right?”

******

In the center of a mass conflagration that seems to be roaring out from a nearby abandoned skyscraper building, Viletta herself is laughing hysterically as her body seems to be engulfed in flames but doing no physical damage to her. “BEHOLD PEONS! THE PINNACLE OF LIVING FLAME! LISTEN WELL BROOKLYN BROWNING! I, VILETTA COMSTOCK, HEREBY CHALLENGE YOU FOR YOUR POSITION OF DEMON LORD OF THESE LANDS OR I’LL DO THE SAME THING TO YOUR ENTIRE CASTLE AS I’M DOING TO THIS ENTIRE BUILDING! AHAHAHAHA!”

“Damnit another crazy!?” a nearby guard on top of the roof you’re clinging onto says.

“Well if we didn’t have things to spice up our life then all this guard duty would be boring as hell wouldn’t it?” another nearby guard says before running off on top of the castle walls.

As you wait until the guards from on top of the castle walls are gone, you take one look at Viletta’s form on top of the building with a raised eyebrow. You were hoping for a small diversion, but it certainly appears that the girl can act.
>>
[2/2]

“I’m worried that my story is going to be far more dramatic than it should be...” you mutter as you head towards the door on the guard tower, opening it with your Omnitool before heading on inside.

After the single guard station filled with arrows and blades, you enter what appears to be another long hallway, this one with plush red carpets and arrow slits looking outside on all of the nearby walls while armoured statues line up towards the inward walls of the castle. Your eyes continue to trace up along them until you manage to make out two women in armoured breastplates and horns on their heads, looking at the walls ahead of them.

“...So I’m thinking of curry tonight.” one says.

“We had curry last night.” the other guard states.

“And your point is?” The other asks.

“Some originality in what we eat would be nice.” the other answers back.

Damn, the two of these girls must be here guarding the door. Trying to open the door in between them both is going to be incredibly difficult, as while you may be visible they’ll certainly react to the door opening up. However there could be other ways to proceed...

- Continue to explode deeper in the castle, see if you can find another way

- Use your wind Chakram’s to cut the head off of a nearby statue, distracting the guards so you can sneak into the door

- Attempt to knock out both of the guards. Demons or not, you should still be far stronger than them.

Deciding it isn’t worth the risk of catching these two girls on alert, you decide to head deeper into the castle itself hoping for another chance to sneak deeper inside of the facility.

Creeping slowly down to the end of the hallway and opening the next set of doors, entering into what appears to be a large hallway that is elaborately decorated with various pottery and trophies on the walls of mythical animals, such as a bear with the head of an owl. Various picture frames hang on the walls, your eyes noticing that the pictures these frames once held were only recently torn out.

You quickly stop dead in your tracks upon noticing another hidden danger in the room, a mine hanging behind a nearby vase, cleverly painted and disguised as the wall itself. The mine itself looks to be modern however, far beyond the level of technology that exists in this world currently.

You resist the temptation to mutter how this world makes no sense, why would they be using swords and metal armour if they can make gunpowder? Something seems very, very wrong here.

- Don’t move a muscle, scan the surrounding area for more mines and to see if something other than mine’s are here. (13d10)

Your entire body freezes pre-step, your eyes zooming in and scanning every single pixel it can find in the room in agonizing detail. Hidden mines are laid out the room with their activation ranges highlighted on your own HUD. Sure enough the entire room is a deathtrap in of itself. If you tried to proceed normally then you’d be blown up nearly 10 times over just by the volume here.

The mines are the least of your concern however, as gazing down the middle of the room you can see a figure just barely visible with your own sight. A single man dressed in some sort of camouflage cloak, a gas mask around his face, and a very large rifle pointed down the hall in your direction.

Entering the room must’ve tipped him off something was wrong so now he’s on high alert, but for the moment it appears he’s unable to see you either.

The sounds of guards coming back in the hallways can be heard next to you. Viletta’s distraction must’ve run its course. You hope the best for you, but going back would mean little anyways. That man with the rifle on the other end of the hallway would’ve opened fire the second he saw the door next to you reopen.

- Climb on the roof and ever so slowly try to sneak down the hallway towards him (15d10 for stealth)

To clarify, when Hibiki exploded the castle the door shut behind her. In the hallway with the sniper, she's afraid if she tries to open the door that she'd get shot instantly. The man doesn't seem to know where Hibiki is, but if he sees a door opening in midair it would give him a clue.

Yeah thinking this now as all other options involve non stealthy approaches. Trying to minimize damage as pissing off the person we wish to ask a favor for sort of is not a good idea.
>>
Whoever this person is, he’s clearly an extremely skilled opponent if the only person guarding the hall is him. More than likely this person is one of Brooklyn’s own elites who are guarding the hallway. Would make the most amount of sense all things considered.

You glance up to the roof to scan for nearby traps, and sure enough there are a few of them directly leveled at the ceiling itself. This crafty little bastard thought of nearly everything.

Slowly heading towards the wall, you begin to creep down the hallway inch by painstaking inch, eyes constantly darting between the highlighted activation areas of the mines alongside the man at the end of the hall, watching for the slightest movement on him. He doesn’t even seem to waver an inch as the massive anti-tank rifle remains positioned down the hall.

After nearly ten minutes of ever so slow sneaking, you finally manage to get to the end of the hall, even directly above the man’s own head. Looking around you can see that the hallway takes a fork in this direction. There’s the path you just came down, and another more lavish pathway heading down to your right. Naturally loaded with just as many mines and a locked door at the end of it.

You could try to sneak to the end of the hall and open the door without this man noticing, but you’re worried if you’d be tempting fate at this point.

- *Touch the man on top of the head* “Tag, you’re it.” Attempt to prove to him that you’re not a threat and want to talk

- Take out your sword and let it shimmer for a second in front of his neck. “I played hide and seek all the time as a kid you know. Drop the weapon.”

- Attempt to walk down to the end of this current hall (13d10 for stealth, may add up to +7 dice for 7m)

You have to stop yourself from moving towards your weapon. Unlike in Versino, the people in this castle seem to be good. There’s no reason to go on the same killing spree that you did back in Sub-basement 8.

Carefully climbing down on the wall to just directly above his head, you extend your hand down and touch him directly on top of the head with a single finger, being sure to press hard enough so he feels it through his armour. “Tag, you’re it.”

“You could’ve killed me just now, why didn’t you?” the figure in the armour below you asks, the voice sounding like it's from an old man.

“I’m not here to fight, I’m just here to talk.” you reply.

“I’ve heard that one before.” the soldier below you replies.

“After when someone bested you at your own game?” you ask.

The man below you grumbles as the camouflage on his armour drops, appearing in a white camouflaged soldier armour with snow camouflage trenchcoat, appearing to be something on par with Wendy’s armour in terms of appearance and protection. “As much as I hate admitting defeat. Erica, you can come on out now.”

“I’m sorry Mr. Sebastien, but I didn’t even see her!” a girl about Marina’s age says seeming to just appear out of the corner of your eyes. Her armour appears to be made out of the same material as the soldier’s, only hastily taped together. A well kept sword appears to be hanging by her side in a scabbard while her eyes appear to be blindfolded. “By the time she started speaking I still couldn’t even see her! I still can’t even see her aura now!”

“It's fine Erica, even I couldn’t even see her. I ain’t gonna blame you for something I couldn’t even see.” The man says pulling off his gas mask, the face of an elderly old man appearing to be underneath it, letting his gun rest on the sling around his neck as her pulls out a pack of smokes out from inside of his trenchcoat. For some reason just looking at this man, you feel a strong sense of deja vu reminding you of Wendy.

“You believe me when I say I’m not here to fight?” you ask, dropping your own cloaking device.

“I may’ve failed in spotting you, but I can still figure out if you’re lying or not. Trust me, you ain’t lying.” Sebastien says as he takes a long puff on his cigarette before turning towards you. “...And no wonder you did. That armour appears to not only be far better than mine but still factory fresh. I feel a little less worse about failing to spot you.”

“I’m good at what I do.” you reply to the man.

“Still if you’re not here to fight, what are you here to do? Just because you’re not fighting doesn’t mean you’re not planning on stealing anything.” Sebastien asks you.

- “I’m looking for a way home, I was hoping Brooklyn would help me with her space magic.”

- “I’m stealing anything if that’s what you’re worried about.” (Dodge why you’re here, this man is giving off the same vibes as Wendy with how she read’s people)

"I'm here to speak to your boss and see if we can exchange services. I'd like transportation that only she might be able to offer and I'm sure that she could use the services of someone with my stealth, combat, and investigative abilities." you reply.

Sebastien takes a single glance at you, cigarette in his mouth before he exhales a mouthful of smoke from your mouth. “Pretty big if you’re making there, assuming if Brooklyn will help you.”

“That’s why I’m offering a trade.” you reply.

“What makes you so special when we have some of the most experienced people in the world coming here?” Sebastien says to you.

“I bested you in one area, or are you saying I need to make it all three areas?” you reply back, cutting to the heart of the matter.

Sebastien just seems to glare at you for several seconds, his eyes gaze cutting past you just as Wendy’s own solemn glare does to you. Not backing down in the slightest, you continue to look back at Sebastien with your own steady gaze.

You can feel an arm rest on your shoulder, turning around to see that it's Erica’s. “The issue isn’t whenever or not you’re qualified, it's more than he’s worried about your own personal safety.”

“Personal safety?” you ask as questions began to flutter around in your mind.

- “Is Brooklyn currently fighting someone?”

- “Did I somehow anger Brooklyn? I just arrived here and insulted some girl, how is it possible that I angered her?”

“No, it's not that we need help dealing with anything, I mean we could always use more help. It’s just...” Erica pauses for a moment, trying to search for the right words. “I don’t think she’s going to like you on principle. Not after what you did.”

“Not after what I did!? I’ve just arrived in the city! What possible thing could’ve done to anger her!?” you demand, hoping Erica can lift some of the clouds of confusion you currently have.

“You and Brooklyn are almost the same, and to her there can be only one.” Erica tells you. “I mean I don’t mind but Brooklyn took it a little hard.”

“Took it hard? How could have I done anything to h-” your mind comes to a snap realization of what Erica suddenly mean, something deep inside of you realizing it in a moment of crystal clarity. “...Oh... Oh yea she’s going to be pissed.”

“You get what we mean now?” Sebastien asks.

“I do.” you say giving a small exhaling breath. “Still, my goal remains unchanged. I need Brooklyn, regardless of how cooperative or uncooperative she may be.”

“Audience Chamber’s down the hall.” Sebastien says pointing down the fork in the hall. “You’ll be on the catwalk overlooking the Audience Chamber.”

“Good luck!” Erica says to you with a smiling, but concerned face.

“Thank, I’m going to need it.” you mutter as you walk towards the end of the hall.

As you approach the end of the hall, you engage your newfound reality distortion device at full power, your body becoming a bit more wispy, your image trailing behind you as if made of mist before you stop in front of the doors of the audience chamber. Sitting on top of a large winged throne near the end of the room, a single woman in a fancy black and purple dress with a witch’s hat makes a slow clap at your appearance, before stopping and picking up a cup of tea on a trolley next to her. “Well well well... Three pairs of demon wings can be seen on her back, the forearms and fingers of each being pitch black while the skin in between them appears to be a pure glowing white. Her hair appears to be far longer, going down to nearly her waist.

“Congratulations, my sister pulled that off last thread. Do you want a cookie or something?” you sarcastically ask her.

“Your sister is wannabe compared to this form!” Brooklyn says holding her hand out, a solid steel fire axe seeming to be pulled out of midair before being pointed at you. “Wilhelmina was the first but certainly not the last! This my own awakened form! I used this to blast Articus straight through the planet, and I’m going to do the same to you!”

“Brooklyn stop, you’re just embarrassing yourself.” you warn him. “We in fact we have a word for this in my language. It’s called being a chuunibyou.”

“Chunnibyou!? Ha! Not likely! I’m the protagonist of this quest! Hahahaha!” Brooklyn says as she gets into a stance.

“Oh come now Brooklyn! We’re not so different! I mean we both like girls!” you exclaim as get down to the ground and begin to eye Brooklyn with a predator’s glare. “Now come give me a hug~.”

“Why would I give you a hu-”

Brooklyn barely has time to speak before you leap towards him, the leap causing cracks in the stonework below as you leap directly into Brooklyn with your Tiger Claws extended. You leap directly top of her torso, the force of your attack knocking both you and Brooklyn against the ground. A small light blue flash can be seen protecting Brooklyn at the point of impact and as he collide against the floor, shielding her from some of the blow.

(Hibiki attacks Brooklyn and deals 6 withering damage!)

“I see that your mana shield still works!” You say before bringing a hand back, all three of the golden claws shining in the sunlight above you. “Let’s see how long it takes for me to break through it!”

“Not fast enough for me to break through your glass cannon defenses!” Brooklyn says getting up to her knees and slamming her fist on the ground. The ground below you both glows a bright white before beams of pure light erupt through both the ground and the ceiling in a cascading rain of light. Time seems to slow down to a standstill as the beams of light rain up and down, quickly rolling under Brooklyn’s own body before taking cover above her wings to avoid the lasers coming from below, the stone dissolving lasers breaking against her own winds.

“I admit that shield of yours is tough as hell!” you comment as you quickly roll behind Brooklyn.

“Far tougher than your defensive magic!” Brookyln snaps back at you, attempting to stand up with the help of her axe.

“Let’s have a test and see how tough it really is then shall we!” You say grabbing two of Brooklyn’s wings, swinging her around in an arc directly towards one of the nearby pillars. Brooklyn barely has time to react by firing off a single ball of light towards the pillar to make it explode, but it doesn’t reach it in time before you slam her directly through the pillar itself.

(Hibiki slams Brooklyn into the scenery dealing 12 withering damage to Brooklyn!)

Brooklyn is sent scattering towards the ground with the rubble that breaks off from the pillar, her hand glowing before firing off several more orbs aimed directly at you before using her wings to upright herself in midair.

The glowing orbs of darkness seem to steer towards with an uncanny sense of accuracy, curving in midair towards your direction before explode directly on top of you, strong bursts of light and darkness clouding your vision as your defensive systems repel the impacts of the blast.

(Brooklyn attacks Hibiki and deals 8 withering damage!)

Vents roar as you leap off the ground towards Brooklyn once again, your afterimages trailing behind you as you roar towards Brooklyn with outstretched claws. Even when Brooklyn manipulates space by trying to make the distance longer between both of you the attack strikes against Brooklyn, even when a shell of pure darkness makes your claws slide off in a shower of sparks, the impact is more than enough to send Brooklyn scrambling towards the ground.

(Hibiki attacks Brooklyn and deals 6 withering damage!)

“Stop that annoying move of knocking me on the ground!” Brooklyn barks out at you.

You somersault off of Brooklyn’s body, landing on all fours only a short distance away from him. “Learn to fight on it.”

“OK, then get a load of this!” Brooklyn yells before smashing a glowing fist back into the ground. Brilliant rays of light erupting from the ground before glowing white pillars of energy begin to rise up from the ground and fall from the sky, shredding the stones in the castle as if they were made of tissue paper.

Without any cover from Brooklyn’s own body, you’re sent scrambling all over the floor, your HUD nearly all red from the estimated attack areas. Your arm just barely touches one of the pillars of light and you feel as if your arm is already sore from a sunburn. If it was a mortal who touched that arm they would’ve been vaporized instantly.

(Brooklyn does 7 initiative damage to Hibiki! Brooklyn regains a point of initiative from her spell Supreme Rending Light!)

After the rain of light is over the entire floor in the throne room begins to violently shake, hardly a surprise given the attacks Brooklyn has been throwing out.

Before either of you have a chance to react the entire audience chamber tips on its side, rumbling stone and crashing windows blotting out nearly all other sound as the floor tips, the throne room and everything in it sent roaring towards the ground.

You waste a second for this perfect setup, rushing towards Brooklyn on all fours, leaping on top of collapsing pillar before springing off of it directly towards Brooklyn, a single silver streak seeming to flash through the air itself as you roar towards Brooklyn, impacting her body and send her skidding along the ground. The sheer velocity sending you both crashing through a stone pillar before roaring outside in the central courtyard.

With a single mighty kick, you send Brooklyn crashing down to the ground, a sickening crack echoing the pavement below as she skids off of the ground below. Despite the incredibly rough treatment Brooklyn still manages to stand back up without a problem.

(Hibiki slams Brooklyn and deals 13 withering damage! Brooklyn absorbs the falling damage with her mana shield!)

You land on a nearby statue, clutching onto it and staring at Brooklyn with the eyes of a cat looking at cornered prey. “You’re pretty durable for a spellcaster.”

“Says the person wielding billions of coins worth of cybernetic enhancements!” Brooklyn says pointing at you as she stands back up, panicked servants in the courtyard now running away from the battle that is taking place. “Brainpower trumps barbaric strength!”

“There’s a limit to both of those, and I think you’re fast approaching the limit to both as well.” you reply.

“Wrong! I’m not done yet!” Brooklyn seems to yell before flying towards you in a burst of speed similar to what you could pull of as the distance between your both narrows.

You quickly leap off the statue as Brooklyn’s axe comes down on top of your head, narrowly dodging it as it seems to crash directly through the statue as if a book were dropped on top of an egg. Flashes of white and black fill your vision as Brooklyn swings her axe like a berserker in a frenzy.

Your systems clock into overtime as the pattern of Brooklyn’s attacks are rapidly analyzed, Brooklyn’s attacks appearing as if they’re cutting into a cloud itself as she continues her frantic attacks.

You give a small chuckle as your form seems to slip away from the frenzied barrage of attacks Brooklyn is raining down upon you. “Alright Brooklyn, it's been fun playing with you, but now it's time for me to actually get serious.”

A vein can be seen nearly about to pop on Brooklyn’s forehead, flames of darkness seeming to roil off her own body. “Time to get ser- Don’t you dare lie to me! You’ve been playing around in a battle of life and death!? Then what do you all the last two minutes between us!?”

“Pity.” you solemnly reply before retracting your claws and standing upright, settling into a stance with your Kaze No Ken at your side. “Goodbye Brooklyn.”

With those words leaving your lips the steel that seems to escape from your sheath seems to linger in the area as a ring which slowly dies out. Everything in the garden is still as a statue as the moment lingers in time before the collapsing pillars falling down from the audience chamber seem to split apart in midair with a single clean slice.

Just as the pillars are about to collapse to the ground, you quickly re sheathe your weapon. The statues in the courtyard now collapsing down to the ground due to the damage the received just as Brooklyn’s on armour seems to explode in a burst of shrapnel, dispelling the nigh instant wall of darkness he spawned in order to try and protect herself.

(Hibiki attacks Brooklyn, dealing 32 levels of damage!)

You exhale a small breath of air, feeling a bit vindicated that you were able to handle that. “Appears I’ve just been having bad luck lately is all.”

“In the words of the teenagers in my period of time, ‘Get good’.” you say as your hand rests on top of your katana.

“Why you little!” Brooklyn says standing up, facing going red with anger as clothing seems to materialize around her body from the very light itself. Her hair receeding back to its normal length and the extra wings vanishing.

You give a small sigh before looking back at her. “That fight took a lot out of me Brooklyn. If it went on any longer I would’ve been in deep trouble. Considering I was just on the receiving side of such things recently I can understand your frustration.”

Brooklyn makes a small growl as she listens to your compliment, the look of anger slowly disappearing on her face. “Fine! I’ll take that as a compliment.”

“By the way, that raining light move is a new one. When did you learn that?” you ask Brooklyn.

“Oh that thing? I needed some defensive magic so it was something I came up with researching magic. Normally it needs to be a ritual spell, but using a special catalyst I’m able to channel my own power into to get that rain of light.” Brooklyn replies to you. “Obviously something only I could come up with!”

“What did I tell you about being a Chunnibyou?” you warn Brooklyn.

“I don’t even know what that term means!” Brooklyn snaps back.

“Then why did you pretend like you did before we fought!?” you demand back.

“I assumed it was an insult of character!” Brooklyn snaps back at you.

“Panicked and sincere. Milord, are you alright.” A European woman in leather armour and katana by her side says in a monotone voice as she hastily runs over to Brooklyn. “Panicked, the fight in the reception hall took longer than I thought.”

“It's fine Wilhelmina. Brodin was supposed to be here, not you.” Brooklyn mutters with crossed arms. “He’s probably off drunk again.”

“Hey, I don’t drink on my work.” A rather sickly looking man with pale skin and dark brown hair says walking up to your group. “I was actually on my break.”

“Regretful, actually it's her castle now.” Wilhelmina says pointing back towards you.

“What!?” Brooklyn cries out in shock.

“I’M CENSORING THAT PART!” Brooklyn roars out to Viletta.

“Not your call to make~.” Viletta says in a mocking tone of voice.

“The chances of you saying that was 1.901 percent. May I inquire the reason of why?” Osvald asks.

“Folklore warnings.” you reply.

“Acknowledged.” Osvald says before the side of his arm opens up, pulling out what appears to be a syringe with a swirling liquid metal substance inside of it.

As you reach for the syringe, a strange idea comes about in your head. “...Osvald, do you happen to have the medium these syringes are suspended in? Are they difficult to make?”

“The difficulty in production for these syringes comes in the machinery needed to make the nanomachines or hyperenergize them, the medium itself just takes some ingredients which are substantially easier to find. Why?” Osvald asks.

“Prep a canister that has the medium these syringes have inside of them, I want to test something.” you say to Osvald.

A few hours later after nightfall you stand on top of a simply building in the city, your cloak disengaged as you stare at the syringe in your hand that’s filled with light blue opaque liquid. For virtually the past hour you’ve been looking at the canister in your hand and mulling over ideas in your head.

“Hm... She said it required a medium, but if I channel anima in it... I must be crazy for following a dream.” you mutter to yourself.

Taking the syringe in your hand you hand and kneeling on the ground, you channel the entire force of your anima and power into the canister as you smash it against the ground. In reaction the liquid of the canister spreads quickly across the ground, swirling around you as it rises high up into the air in a spinning curtain of light that lasts for a few seconds before fading.

“...Or she might’ve been onto something about that medium.” you mutter to yourself as you stare at the ground in amazement.

Impenetrable Repulsor Field “Directional Field Focus”: When Celerity Enabling Module is active, the cost of Impenetrable Repulsor Field is reduced to 1i per health level, literally doubling the efficiency.

NEW Omnisituational Evasion Equation “Reality Phasing Protocols”: When Evasion Equation is active Hibiki becomes phased out of the local dimension enough so that she’s actually capable of performing such feats as walking directly through solid walls. Additionally, detecting her by touch subtracts two successes from any roll. (6 XP, requires Manipulation 4)

Charm “Impact Dispersion Module”: Gain (Essence or 3, whichever is higher) additional soak against withering attack or four hardness against decisive attacks. Basically you gain a small toughness boost. (10 XP with slot)

NEW Charm “Electric Attraction Generator (HC)”: Magnetic attractors are activated in Hibiki’s arms, allowing her to better maintain a grip on struggling opponents. When attacked Hibiki may pay a small cost in order to maintain her grip on opponents, allowing them to be grappled for much longer. Without this charm, normally being attacked while grappling someone decreases the duration you can hold onto them.

Recommended Alchemical XP Purchases

Strength Up (5 XP per dot, maximum 5) [Suggested for Tiger Style]

Manipulation Up (4 XP per dot, maximum 5)

Wits Up (4 XP per dot, maximum 5)

Athletics (3 XP per dot, maximum 5)

Steel Devil Style “Seconds Between Strife” (8 XP): When making a rush towards an enemy, may convert charge into automatic successes on the rush attempt. If the Rush is successful, the charge spent on the Rush is refunded. Meaning it makes you really fast.

Steel Devil Style “Sonic Slash” (8 XP):If the automatic move action happens due to a rush action you make activate this charm to make an immediate decisive attack in a line out to medium range with a base damage equal to your current charge. This does not reset you to base initiative. Meaning this lets you fire out wind blasts from your swords from running fast (Must know Seconds Between Strife)

Steel Devil Style “Twin Blade Defense” (8 XP): By spending charge, Hibiki is able to boost her defense on a 1:1 basis with it, allowing her to knock away attacks that would otherwise hit.

Air Dragon Style “Breath Seizing Technique” (8 XP): Steal the very breath of life from the opponent themselves. If an attack does a certain amount of damage than the opponent is faced with a penalty to all actions which can be stacked. If this penalty is higher than the opponents stamina then they begin to suffocate until they pass out. Alchemical opponents are immune to suffocation, but the penalty still remains with them.

Air Dragon Style “Air Dragon Form” (8 XP): Surround yourself with a small personal tempest, providing small boosts to your speed and dodge. All attacks are wreathed in electricity slightly increasing damage, unarmed attacks can be made out to short range while any attacks using Chakram’s turn all aim dice into automatic successes. [Requires Breath Seizing Technique]

Tiger Style “Iron Claw Grip” (8 XP): Pounce on an enemy and to grapple them, gaining a possible increase to the amount of turns a target can remain grappled. Targets who are grappled cannot defend against your attacks.

NEW Tiger Style “Spine Shattering Bite” (8 XP): Upon inflicting damage upon an enemy you make decrease the damage dealt to maim or cripple the enemy by slashing tendons or shattering the targets back. For supernatural opponents this is temporary, but until they shake it off they are forbidden to take movement actions (If under the effects of Raging Tiger Pounce, the opponent cannot rise from prone until they recover from this charm. This can knock flying enemies to the ground)

Would useing this be a reflex or do we need to spend actions to do so?

Impenetrable Repulsor Field has a few weaknesses, btw. It's probably more-effective just to max out Stam and Resistance right now.
>>
>>1013853

Celerity Enabling Module is reflexive, so if you're up against a super nasty attack you could activate Celerity against the enemy and immediate benefit from the cost reduction.

>>1013881

Whoops, my mistake. Wits is maxed out, so you'd need to do something else with that XP.

You could in theory get Wits Augmentation to boost it to six for 10 XP.

That's good to know. Save it, we need more martial arts.

This looks interesting. I''ll try to participate as soon as I catch up, you look like you could use another player.

Also, I have to ask: Why'd you start a new quest instead of continuing your old one? It was really good.

As mentioned in the parody post, lack of overall direction. If I rebooted it I'd heavily borrow things from other Civ Quests, like how Hive Queen or Death Amongst the Stars does it.

Otherwise always happy to have another person on board!

What parody post?

>“Brooklyn there was a reason your quest died. It had no coherent direction with things constantly being thrown against the wall to see if they’d stick. It just slide off the wall.” you say pointing towards Brooklyn.

One of the things I felt harmed it anyways. Not saying loose plotlines are bad, you just need to know how to handle them and I clearly didn't.

At least it was an enjoyable read, which is what ultimately matters.
>>
>>1019756

True.

While SLQ isn't completely off the table, its off the table so long as I'm focusing on this quest. Tried doing two at once before, didn't work out.

I was wondering that myself
