It was several hours later, as the last of the creatures was crushed underneath Nappa’s weight, that you saw it for the first time. First there was the blinding pain that wracked through your body, then you saw things.
Your father bathed in deadly light above planet Vegeta as Frieza laughed.
Nappa being vaporised by a blast of Ki from Vegeta.
A Saiyan you’d never seen before facing down Frieza.
And the last thing you saw before you fell into unconsciousness, you and that same Saiyan, dead from a beam of concentrated ki.

It was a month before you woke up from what felt like an eternal nightmare to the sight of one of the medical rooms aboard one of the many ships of the Frieza empire. Unaware that you had only woken into a much worse nightmare.

It was Nappa who first saw you had awoken, the giant looked far more solemn than any Saiyan would wish to look.
As he helped you out of the Pod questions surged through your brain, what had you seen, how had you been injured, where was your mom.
But as the medical alert siren began to blare you knew you only had time to ask one question.

Nappa’s brow furrows as he throws a set of battle armour at you, a skintight suit that can expand to most sizes. You can swear he almost smiles at you before checking down the hallway.

“Vegeta is in the healing pod next to you.” As he say’s it you turn and instinctively shiver. Even with the time he’s been in the pod you can see he has been badly hurt, scars run across his body, and his arm seem’s to be broken.

Turning back you see Nappa with the darkest most fearful look on his face, and everything he says hit’s like a blow.

“No matter what he says, no matter what he does, you have to swear allegiance to Frieza.” You try to open your mouth to argue but he grabs you by the shoulders. “Raditz. If you don’t listen, you will die tonight. Our pride won’t mean anything if we die.”

For a second you see his screaming face as he’s torn apart atom by atom.

Thats when several of Frieza’s soldiers burst into the room. “We are here to take the Injured Saiyan to see the Emperor. Do not resist monkeys.”

You see Nappa’s fist clench, and his Ki flares for a second. Before he unclenches and passes you over. “Yeah Yeah, just give him a sec to breathe, he’s only just out of the chamber.”

As you’re marched out you see him sit down with his back pressed against Vegeta’s pod.

You are marched through the curved halls of the ship by the small group, your muscles are tired and it takes all the energy you have to walk in a straight line.

You see through the holographic windows of the ship that you are floating far above a cluster of meteors and space dust. As news updates barely manage to penetrate into your mind from nearby radios.

“The Meteor had not shown up on prior scans and it is unknown if foul play is involve…”, “As of now no survivors have been found.”.

One of the broadcasts however fully captures your attention, if only because of the voice that comes over it.
“Of course my deepest sympathies go out to any survivors and I beg of them to come forward to me for recompense. No one could have predicted this tradegy but I do promise that nothing of this sort shall happen again under my watch.”


"A stirring speech don’t you think, I wrote it myself.” You didn’t even notice you’d been marched into the room, not until you see him. No one is sure what race he is, but everyone knows what he looks like.

Pink and Purple, with a prehensile tail and a smirk that never leaves their face. If you ever face that figure in a fight then it is better to die quickly than to struggle pitifully.

Frieza.

“Now child, I am sure that you must be very confused, but their is no reason whatsoever to worry, you are safer here than anywhere else in the universe.” The Emperor smiles, as if to a joke only they know, and turns away from you.

“I am so sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but I am afraid that your Planet Vegeta has been completely destroyed. And if reports are to believed then it was all the work of your father, the “warrior" Bardock.”

You remember the nightmare. Of your father bathed in light as Frieza laughed.

“However, thankfully for you, I do not believe in the sins of the father, so I will allow leniency, all you must do is swear a lifetime of fealty to me and my empire, and you shall be allowed to live and fight as a Saiyan does. Aren’t I merciful.”

Thats all that stops you from launching everything you have at the monster, the thought of Nappa’s grave warning, the thought of Vegeta’s broken body and the thought of your brother left abandoned far of in the space goonies.
You unclench the fist which you didn’t even know had begun to collect ki, and begin to breathe.

Your body stationery and standing as tall as can you begin to speak. " I swear my fealty to your empire.” You don’t make any move to bow or kneel, simply staring into the eyes of the monster in front of you.

Frieza for his part doesn’t react at all to your small act of defiance, his smirk never leaving his face, as he stares back without fail“I am so very glad that unlike the little prince you can see reason. You have to understand that I am doing the best that I can for you, I am quite sure that with his temper and with all that’s been taken from him that without my protection the little prince would have no issue tearing you apart for what you father has done to him.”

Then he simply turns around and walks over to a chair facing a large view screen. Beginning to give off orders to various crew members around the room who scramble about. As you are pulled out of the room again by the soldiers you only hear snippets of orders.
“Someone send the message to Beerus that I've finished…"
“Keep Scanning for that power level from earlier…”
“Someone tell my brother I’m not taking calls…”

As you are walked back to the room you had woken up in, you feel it again, the pressing on your brain, and the pain that threatens to tear your body apart.

But this time you feel like you understand, and instead of trying to hold it back you let the vision wash over you. You see far far away from here, a saiyan attack pod have a minor malfunction no one could have expected, as it careens into a forest. Your heart sinks for a moment, before you see that the child passenger is okay.

You know deep inside of yourself that this is Kakarot and that more than anything else he is safe. Your dad always said that Saiyans didn’t have familial bonds, and that he was only soft because of your mother.

But seeing that your little brother could grow up safe far from this monster, made you happier than anything else could at that moment.

Soon enough you find yourself back in the room where Vegeta is being healed. Nappa runs to the door as he hears you approaching, but even he can’t hide a smile when he see’s that you’re uninjured.

As you sit down across from him, the two of you staring at the pod containing the prince he begins to speak.

“Back on the mission you collapsed out of the sky screaming, we thought that you’d been poisoned by one of those huge beetle monsters, but after a few minutes you just stopped screaming. I tried to carry you back to the pod but Vegeta insisted that he’d do it, that it was his job as prince to stand for all Saiyans.”

He stops for a minute, checking a few screens on the pod before sitting back down.

“The second we got back we were forced into Frieza’s chambers, and told about the “Meteor”.” you can swear you hear venom drip from his voice as he say’s it.

“He refused to swear fealty. The fight lasted seconds, the beating didn’t stop for hours. Not until Vegeta begged or died he said. I swore both of our fealties as much as I could to try and get him to stop, but the bastard just kept at it for hours.”

He sighs and looks at you, it’s only now you can tell how exhausted he looks, a Saiyan can stay up for days easily, Nappa looks like he’s been up for weeks.

“Neither of us blame you kid, no matter what your dad might have done.”

“Ever since I first passed out before, I’ve been having Visions.”
Nappa freezes completely, his eyes focused completely on you.
“I saw all of us dying, I saw my brother land safely across the galaxy, I saw my father die to that BASTARD FRIEZA’S HAND!”
You go to swing at the wall in anger, as Nappa moves faster to grab it.
“Before your father died, he was sent to kill off a population of future seer’s, they were weak but crafty. It was need to know kind of stuff, and I only knew cause Vegeta was mad he didn’t get sent to do it himself.”
It feels like the world stops around you. The water runs cold and even the engines of the ship seem to stop.
“Y-you believe me?”
Nappa only sighs, ruffles your hair and turns to leave.
“We’re the last of our race kid, we have to look out for each other. But we can’t do anything yet, if you’re right. If Frieza did all of this, then I swear we will get our revenge someday.”

It’s then you remember that vision, of Vegeta himself killing his closet friend.

It's good to see you taking that first step and actually running something. A few of the usual first time slip-ups but slip-ups are how we learn and grow. This anon >>988769 has some decent criticisms to take on board and work with.

As for the quest itself, I'll support it all I can. DBZ is an over-saturated franchise when it comes to quests, though I've never been one to discourage someone from running a quest just because there are similar ones out there. You should try to strike this out as it's own thing that separates it from other quests. On top of that, you can always improve on character writing and getting a hang of each character's voice, something that gets pretty tricky when you're working with characters from an already established canon.

On top of making sessions longer, I'd advise working on pacing to keep people more interested. This short session feels a lot like a prelude with not all that much going on, it would be good to kick into more action to hook people sooner. Also, I think you should include some rules for dice rolls in your next OP, because in a combat-oriented deal like this, it could become a bizarre mess if you try to explain things as you go along there.

If I remember well (probably not because i have shit memory), Vegeta was and will always be a little shit, and while Nappa was prone to be angered, he seemed to care for his species (except traitors), and this being before they were ridiculed and overworked by Freezer, maybe Nappa was a better person back then.
