(Btw, all research, wars, etc. are on hold - this is not the typical 'a month a turn' Y, S!-thread. Rather, it spans maybe a day or two and is mostly aimed at developing your rulers' characters.)
Yule, Christmas, An'Sha Quaelin, St. Dibbler's Day... Today marks a special holiday for almost all of the world (speaking of which... what's the name of our world, anyway? Any suggestions?). Kings and commoners alike go to bed filled with what the morning might bring, for gifts are granted to all - the cynical say it's friends and family, the hopeful say it's their nation's holy figure, but the presents are there regardless.

>Describe your holiday. Is it religious? Cultural? Are its roots long-forgotten? Is it a celebration of life, or a sinister night, with the ceremonies intended to ward off death? What are the traditions? What's the gifts like? You get the gist.
>Of course, Rulers, you have wishlists. What is your heart's desire? (Five items minimum. They must be items that would reasonably be able to fit in a room.)

It's religious and cultural.
In yearly celebration of the one who gives.
Gifts are given and feasts at held.
The gifts can be anything as long as the point is giving. People tend to try to give something the receiver would want.

>What I want
Lewd time with my wife.
An ornate magic-y shield
An egg from those weird swamp wyrm monster things.
A fancy magic-y new bow
A magic staff.
And mage robes.

The Grand Order of Fervus celebrates the turning of the year with a Grand Hunt! THe best and brightest of the trainees, along with the mightiest champions of the Order try to hunt down dangerous beasts for fun and food. This takes places across the entire territory, with multiple hunting parties hunting different preys. Afterwards, the men who took down the greatest kill are brought into the High Arena, and granted membership of the Holy Guard of the Arena. Then everyone has a huge feast, and drinks till they pass out.

What I Want
A Phoenix. Something about them looks cool.
A Copy of the holy tactica, wirtten by the great mercenary generals who first worshiped fervus and conquered this land in his name (and because they were not paid).
The Great Boars head. Hopefully the hunt will work out!
An item that invalidates the Catholic arguments. They currently are eating plague rats and rotten grain for their Krismaz, so sucks to be them
An indian rubber ball. Im seriously hoping someone gets this reference, or I have wasted an item

This should be good map wise.

I'm the Aristocratic Monarchy of Erdenia, led by Rirech (Using that as a term for King) Toel. Rirech Toel is a charismatic leader and follows the faith of the Clean - a religion that focuses on civilization above all else, with the cleanliness in the name being a spirit they exists in civilization. The fight against their more primal urges, the "unclean", is what this focuses on. This spirit is worshipped through, well, construction. Building and maintaining is the means to worship, and anyone who is unclean is to be purged through a Cleaning. You can tell yourself what those words mean from the context I imagine.

The previous leader of Erdenia was cleaned in a bloody coup led by his own son which was supported by the Inquisition, the military order in charge of martial life. It was successful, and while the people may flee, the state remains strong and stable. The new leader, Toel, is a strong and well rounded leader, charismatic and a good steward for the country moving forward.

>KING ISH I
The One Who Gives be praised! They day passes agonizingly slowly, but at last it is high noon – the time where He Who Gives blesses the land with the most sunlight. The celebrations kick off by burning an effigy of the Greed Man, lest he take away the gifts of He Who Gives. After Greed is naught but ashes, the band starts playing, men and women start dancing and gifts are exchanged.
It is tradition that the King receives the first gift, and that this gift comes from the Mayor, funded by the citizens; it’s often a great reflection on how popular a monarch is. And you must be popular indeed, for what is presented to you is a magnificent bow! The Mayor tells you it’s made from the oldest oak in the realm, and strung with a string woven from elfin hair. You’re not sure if this is the case, but it’s a damn fine bow either way.
>Add Item: Masterwork Bow (+5 PCS when attacking from range, can be enchanted with high-level enchantments)
Next, the gift from your Council; a mighty shield! In a humorous move, it is given to you by your Militarist, Kythara. She smirks as you unwrap the gift. “Looks like I’ll need a better axe for the next time you act without counselling us,” she says. You’re fairly sure she’s joking. Probably. Regardless, you now have a doubtlessly Masterwork Shield!
>Add Item: Masterwork Shield (+5 PCS when focussing on defence, can be enchanted with high-level enchantments.)

The day goes on, and eventually you head back to the castle, carrying the shield and the bow. It seems that your Gifting Festival is not over yet, though; in the bedroom, your wife brings you some robes, not unlike hers. “You have progressed far in your studies,” she says. “Thus, you earn these. You will not get your staff until your training is complete, but you should find these robes a great magical aid.”
>Add Item: Wizardly Robes (+3 Learning when casting spells)
After this, she gives you another ‘gift’ – the gift of [REDACTED]

>HIGH CHAMPION ORTHIS
The Grand Hunt! How have you been looking forward to this; what better chance to avenge your old friend than by killing the beast that slew him during one of the greatest celebrations of your people? Your foresters have diligently worked all year to ensure the animal population was high enough to sustain this hunt; the wilds are teeming with creatures waiting for your spear and your bow.
The day is long, and though you hunt down many creatures both fearsome and frail, the Great Boar eludes you until nightfall. There, across the ravine your party has found itself, you see the boar. There’s no time to ride around; it has noticed you and is about to run! Thinking quickly, you bellow a mighty battlecry and spur your horse into a glorious haste, clearing the chasm in a single jump. The boar moves to attack, but you are faster, jumping off the horse, onto the boar, repeatedly stabbing him with arrows in his throat and neck, even spilling its guts when you rake it across its belly, holding on despite the thrashing. Eventually, overcome by pain and blood loss, the mighty beast falls. You’ve already claimed the head as your trophy when your men finally round the ravine.
>Add Trait: Hunter (+5 PCS when hunting non-sentient creatures)
You return in glory, and your men cheer when they see the beast’s head. At the feast, you are presented with a copy of the Holy Tactica by your impressed brothers-in-arms in recognition of this deed. You read it through from cover to cover in a single night, and you have learned much.
>+2 Martial
Just before you fall asleep, you see a bright flash of fire on the horizon; a great bird of flame seems to fly away to the Northwest; perhaps it lives in the mountains?

>REICHSFUEHRER SNAKE
Angel’s Day is upon you at last! In the evening, men dressed as Angels will present gifts to their friends and family, and the Church organizes many Bible plays in the streets. In the morning, however, there is a tradition of silence, prayer, and fasting. You awake precisely at 5AM and hurry towards the alcove where you can privately pray. As you kneel and bow your head, a blinding light appears from the Holy Statue of Jesus Himself! The little statue looks down at you, and speaks with a most divine voice:
“Greetings, child.”
You’re absolutely stupefied. You knew God existed, obviously, but this… this is a miracle!
The Statue of the Saviour smiles.
“Yes, child, it is I. I have come to you upon this most holy day, as I fear for the souls of you and your men.”
“…” You pale somewhat. “Have… have I displeased the Lord?”

“Today is Angel’s Day, child. The festival of peace. And yet, the killing of the Krattyr’s people continues.”
“But… they’re heretics…”
“And thus you must save their souls. You have been doing that, and I commend you for this.” You beam a little – praise from Jesus Himself!
“However, you must not kill on this day, nor must your men. Please, my child, call for a ceasefire, that all may celebrate Angel’s Day in peace!”
You nod, and the light disappears. You ponder whether or not you imagined it all, but then you notice that the Holy Statue still has the gentle smile from the conversation, instead of the pained expression it used to have. Even without the Spirit of the Saviour in it, this is still a most holy artefact with great power!
>Add Item: Statue of the Saviour (Brings boons upon your realm when you act piously, severely punishes anti-Christian behaviour).
You send out the messengers at once, both to your own men and to the Kattinkratter people, asking for an immediate truce until Angel’s Day is over.
>You now have a Truce with Kattinkrad
The Priesthood, meanwhile, has managed to drive the Demon into a sanctified broom closet. It’s not perfect, but it was the best they could do under such circumstances. However, it is Angel’s Day, and the powers of men of the Church are bolstered, whilst the Servants of Satan are diminished. Thus, the highest ranks of the clergy convene with you, and unveil a bold plan: they will bind the Demon with silver chains, inscribed with holy passages of the Bible, and lock it up in the deepest cellar of the sole Cathedral your realm boasts. The room has been sanctified with many holy wards, and it’s the safest place to lock the foul beast up until you can destroy it. The plan is executed rapidly and flawlessly. The priesthood has even learned more about Holy Magic!

>GENERAL DRACHTMA
The Day of Unification is upon you at last! Glory be to the Republic! In order to celebrate the end of war and the start of prosperity, you trek through the realm in a caravan, bringing food to those in need. Your population is most grateful for this, so much that they return the favour, sometimes several times over! You receive many minor gifts, but in one small, impoverished town, you receive the greatest gift of all: Love. You hand out dried meat, cheese and bread to the peasants, occasionally accepting a coin or an apple in return. Your work is interrupted by a woman handing you a colourful bouquet of flowers and a gorgeous smile. Her auburn hair and eyes that speak of hidden wisdom lead you to do something you usually fervently argue against, especially in military matters – you give in to an impulse and ask her to marry you. She happily agrees, and the town throws a celebration for you. As it turns out, she’s the local apothecary, and knows a thing or two about alchemy!
>Add alchemy waifu
Together with your wife, you continue your journey throughout the Republic, eventually ending up in Fort Crimson. As it so happens, a band of mercenaries is resting just outside the walls; though wounded and running out of supplies, apparently after fighting off a massive bandit raid, your men do not let them into the fortress. You’d normally agree – mercenaries without money are not to be trusted – but, in the spirit of Unification Day, you hand them food and order your soldiers to let them into the castle. The mercenaries, not used to such displays of kindness, are taken aback by your generosity. Several even swear fealty to you on the spot – a most valuable asset, as these men are hardened warriors.
>Add: 50 Infantry Honour Guard (Honour Guard gain +5 in combat)
Lastly, your trek takes you to a mage’s tower. Though the old wizard can feed himself with the supplies the locals give him in exchange for his services, his age means he cannot trek to the market to acquire exquisite food, such as cheese. He is absolutely delighted when you present him with the rations – calling them luxurious, even; some of your men have to stifle a giggle – and returns the favour with several scrolls on Wind Magic.

He speaks unto your court of the ancient Dragon Gods of old; how they ruled the heavens as their mortal servants once ruled the skies, and of their mysterious disappearance. (The Khan, being a late piece of shit, is sorry for being a late piece of shit and having a life)

Ah, the Day of Forgiveness, such a happy moment in the Khanate. Once a year, the earth is coated in white snow, and for one day, the kind god Sun lets the exiled god Snow back into this world.
Not everyone remembers why Snow was exiled ages ago. Only members of the clergy know of the Frost Age, when Snow became corrupted by greed, and projected his influence all over the world. That caused the anger of the other gods, which banished him to another realm.
During the Day of Forgiveness, Snow returns, and brings joy and gifts to the people through an emissary: one particulairly old man with white skin, dressed in red and white, carrying a huge bag of leather filled to the brim with salt. The salt is distributed among the people, and the next day each grain will turn in whatever their heart desires the most.
The people of the Khanate have to demonstrate that they are worthy of such gifts, though. Because of that, many games, hunts and competitions are organized, and everyone exhanges various gifts with eachother. Yes, everyone, even the Khan.

>The Royal Khan's Royal Wishlist:

1. The Republic takes this opportunity to rest and relax, at least temporarily. While preparations for war never truly cease, aspects of life return to some modicum of normality. The people gather in their towns and villages to celebrate Ascension Day where the spirits of family and friends are released into the air in lit lanterns over the sea. It isn't uncommon for civil partnerships, marriages, or divorces to be symbolically started on this day. Couples sharing a lantern in twin colors, or couples sending different lanterns all have their meanings.

2-3. The various Krattyrs come together with the governor of Duswaste to release a shared lantern over the bay to symbolize their own unity.

"In the face of aggression and genocide the peoples of the east will always remain united in their opposition to the Reich and maniacal ambitions. There can be no peace without victory."

You hero.
>ULKAZ KHAGAN
The Day of Forgiveness is upon your realm at last! The competitions are grandiose and the gifts you give and receive are even more extravagant, but the Rites of Forgiveness are what stay with you; Every Day of Forgiveness, the Khan travels throughout the land, and forgives those who have done wrong in the past, but atone for it. One such man is Kadriz Tullan Ankir, a local sage who was responsible for the death of a child due to a erroneously calculated dosage of medicine. He has been shunned by his community for this, but he has never charged a penny for any of his treatments or sage advice from the townsfolk since the accident. This is why you formally forgave him today. Still, his town made it clear he was not welcome, so in an act of mercy, you have taken him on as your advisor. He is duly grateful, and his loyalty to you is beyond question.
>Add Item: Sage Ankir. Once a thread, you may ask Kadriz Tullan Ankir for advice. His sage wisdom will confer a +30 to your roll, or you may ask him how to contain the damage of a disaster; this will turn a critical failure into a regular failure.
In a bold move, as the sun sets, you decide to forgive and seek forgiveness from the spirits in the mine. You descend into the depths alone, carrying naught but a torch. Though your surroundings are eerily quiet, you are certain you are being watched. Despite your fear, you press onward. Eventually, you end up at one of the sites of the accident. With a loud and clear voice, you call upon the spirits that have plagued your efforts so far. Your torch snuffs out, and you can't see anything, but you feel chilly breezes surround you. Faint whispers fill your ears, before one voice clearly stands out.
“What are you doing here, Defiler of Graves?”
Instinctively, you kneel. “I have come on this most holy day, spirits, to beg for your forgiveness. I did not know of these graves when I ordered the mine opened. All I desired was to enrich my people.”
The whispering stops. It is quiet for a long time. Suddenly, a bitter cold pierces your heart briefly, before it fades away.
“You speak true; no mortal can hide his intentions from our spiritual seeking”. Suddenly, the environment lights up in a ghostly glow. Before you stands an ethereal being, wearing the hat of feathers you’ve seen before. “As your intentions are pure, we shall allow your men to mine these riches – provided you stay well away from our burial sites.”
You nod, and all goes dark again. A small light appears, and seems to guide you to the exit. You also notice that the journey up is much easier; pebbles seem to scatter away just before you step on them, the road is less steep, and similar fortunate occasions. It seems the spirits are aiding you.
>Add Item: Holy Mines. Due to the blessing of the spirits, rare finds are especially common. Once a turn, roll Stewardship. On a critical success, you acquire a metal or gem of such quality that it can be enchantws.

Ah, Mercy Day! All clans gather at the capital for a great feast. Many gifts are presented to you, but there’s one set of presents that you will never forget.
One man, clad in mysterious armour, rides up to your seat. He throws a gauntlet on the table, thus challenging you to a joust. He sets as the conditions that if he wins, he gains his weight in gold; if you win, you gain his horse, his lance, and his loyalty. This seems like a fair bet; his horse and lance seem fearsome, and he himself seems to be a very useful person.
The joust is by far the hardest you have ever fought; you only won in the final round. However, a victory is a victory, and the spoils are yours.
>Gain Items: Masterwork Lance (+3 Martial when jousting or charging with the lance), Spirited Warhorse (Always succeed at out-speeding someone when on horseback), Cavalry Genius Todlan Ruul (+10 bonus to Cavalry-related research.)

The Day of Deliverance was once the greatest festival in the Commonwealth celebrating the blessing of the Skyfather and the coming of his Prophet. However this year as the tumultuous storm raged overhead an eery silence lingered over the lands of Baroxy. For every citizen had gathered to pray, not for forgivness but for vengance against the god who would turn his back on then. They prayed to Skyraker who had fought for them and would deliver them.

>EVERYONE
It has been a long day of feasting and celebration, and you retire to bed. Just before you fall asleep, you hear... music made with bells? You write it off as some late revellers and fall asleep.
When you wake up, it is in an unfamiliar place. Actually... scratch that, this doesn't particularily seem like an area that 'place' could describe. There's nothing around you but pure whiteness, save for several other individuals. you fumble around, trying to get up, and in doing so notice that, save for the set of clothes you normally wear, you've got only one item on you.
>Pick one item from your gifts to bring with you on this quest. It must be a tangible item and cannot be a person. Yes, you can bring the horse.
Once you're certain you've not got anything else, you decide to meet up with the others. They all introduce themselves as fellow rulers from all across the world, though nobody has any idea where they are.
Soon, though, you at least find out WHY you are here. A blinding flash of light obscures your vision for a moment. When it subsides, you see your deity, together with several others who also must be gods - presumably those of the other leaders - stand before you.
"Greetings," your deity says. "We have gathered you here because we have a task for you. You will accept." This is not a question, and so you nod.
"You all have celebrated a holy day of some sort. You mainly remember joy, safety and happiness. However, this was not shared by everyone in your realm; there was much crime, hate and death." As your deity says this, you remember reports of these instances - you received many more reports of violence and other illicit behaviour than on any other date of the year. You wrote it off as revelries gone out of hand at the time, but it seems that there is something more sinister going on...
"This crime is being spurred on by something dark; something that wants to destroy this holy day. We do not know who or what is causing this, but we do know it's coming from the mountains south of Drachsen Castle. You have been chosen to seek out and destroy or otherwise stop this evil; partially because you are some of the most talented individuals on the planet and partially because it's time to earn that divine right to rule. We will deposit you in Drachsen Castle. From thereon out, you are on your own. Good luck."
