You are Captain Kusajishi Riku, and right now you're giving your wife some time to collect her thoughts by sitting out in one of the many semi-private gardens that dot your Division's grounds.

It's rare that something really gets to Yoruichi, but on those rare occasions you've found that chasing after her is just smothering rather than actually helpful. She's always been able to handle herself, and so simply allowing her to do so is typically the better plan. Sure enough, it only takes a few minutes for her to rejoin you where you've taken a seat.

“Guess hearing myself ask who you are was just a little more surreal than I thought it'd be,” she mutters. “She can never know what's been done to her. You know that.”

“She'd be furious,” you sigh, drawing a conclusion based on what you know of the original. “Same as you would be.”

Yoruichi falls backwards onto the porch and sprawls out there. “Let's change the subject. You come up with a training regimen for the next few months?”

“I assume you've already done so?” you smirk down at your partner, who merely gives you a shrug from where she's reclining on the floor.

“I figure I still need to work with Raijūsenkō, and there are some tools I'd like to study too,” she explains, laying out only the vaguest hints of a plan. “No real idea how to divide my time though, and I can't really start until after the Ōin moves next month.”

Ah, that's right. There's going to be a whole to-do surrounding that artifact's relocation, and Yoruichi is meant to be present as both a delegate from the Shihōin clan and as the head of the security detail. You were invited, as were all the other Captains... but since Yoruichi has cautioned you that the whole thing is going to be one colossal pain in the ass you politely declined the offer. It's not like anyone else was really planning to go, since diverting one Captain from their duties in the Seireitei at a time like this is bad enough.

“I figured Tenkotsuki probably has a few suggestions for me,” you muse to yourself, “but really, we're both at something of a plateau.”

“Shikai, shunkō, Bankai, Resurrección,” Yoruichi recites, almost like it's a mantra. “It's all down to gradual refinements and waiting for us. I take it that's why you took a personal interest in Kuchiki and Arisawa?”

You nod quietly. “Helping them get up to snuff is a better use of the last few days than any training I could think of for myself.”

“You are correct, my dear Riku,” Tenkotsuki's voice greets you. “I do in fact have a plan.”

Next to you sits the spirit of your first zanpakuto, calmly regarding the same view you are from your left side where she too sits on the veranda. For her to go so far as to manifest herself like this, she must have something serious on her mind.

“Hello Tenkotsuki,” Yoruichi greets your sword without even bothering to sit up.

Tenkotsuki's tails wave idly as she continues to gaze out at the garden. “Greetings, Lady Yoruichi. You seem well.”

“So do you.”

“Now, Lady Riku,” Tenkotsuki continues, “a shadow of doubt has been growing in my mind, regarding the traitor Aizen's possible skills at kidō. There is a spell that he may know, and if he does... there is no spell I know of that can properly defend you against it aside from casting it back at him.”

“And that would be?” you ask, frowning at the notion of a nearly unstoppable spell.

“Hadō #99: Goryūtenmetsu.”

Those words cause Yoruichi to sit up suddenly. “Number 99 isn't something that gets taught anymore... because even most Captains lack either the skill or the raw power. The last person I knew who may have been able to cast it was Head Captain Yamamoto.”

“What makes you think Aizen might know it?”

“All beings who wish to project their authority will seek the most powerful techniques available to them,” Tenkotsuki theorizes in a stern tone. “It is as predictable as the rising and setting of the sun. I have no doubt that Aizen would have tried to learn Goryūtenmetsu, and if he succeeded the only reasonable counter to that technique I can think of would be to learn it for oneself.”

>Surely using a #99 kidō as a counter isn't the most efficient possibility?

“That seems awfully inefficient,” you observe, thinking of Dankū. “Are you sure there's no other way to counter this spell?”

“She has a point,” Yoruichi agrees with you. “Countering on a one to one basis goes against the entire theory behind blocking an attack in the first place as opposed to simple evasion.”

“You are correct in that the theory behind barrier usage is to utilize energy more efficiently than the attacker,” Tenkotsuki nods quietly, “no doubt Lady Riku was just considering the example of Dankū.”

“Cheater,” you mutter.

Tenkotsuki cocks an eyebrow at you, a sly gesture of amusement at your accusation. “However, Goryūtenmetsu is a spell capable of easily overwhelming barriers due to their problem with repeated impacts.”

“Like a modern ballistic vest,” you realize. “Strike the same spot on the barrier a second time and the defense is weaker there.”

“Precisely. Except this is a spell that can strike at full force five times in rapid succession,” Tenkotsuki explains, “as the name would suggest. I devised a barrier that would be effective of course, more on a whim than anything else, which would be capable of self-repair...”

“... but it would demand more reiatsu than simply firing off the same attack in response,” Yoruichi concludes, seeing the problem with the concept. “So it's simply not practical.”

“That was indeed my own conclusion, which is why I say that learning the spell yourself is the most efficient response to the threat. It is a spell designed to have no real counter aside from itself.”

You consider the point briefly, before an idea strikes you. “What about our Bankai? Could we use that, same as would work against any other spell?”

Tenkotsuki sighs softly to herself, having predicted this line of reasoning. “It would of course make it impossible for a mere mortal to use even such a high level spell. Most who possess shinreiryoku would find it to be impossible as well, or would only be partly successful. However while such a maneuver would certainly counter this spell in a way none could truly anticipate, the problem is the speed with which you enter the state.”

“Do you really believe it is possible to enter Bankai in response to an attack, and to still complete the release before the attack reaches you?”

>I think that with some training it could be possible, assuming it would be more efficient.
>Learning the spell would probably be easier and faster than making something up.

If we figure this out, like using shikai without a release phrase, we could potentially teach this to the captains.

You sort of forgot one thing. Aizen has NEVER seen our Bankai. The confrontation with him was us using Tenkotsuki and Rosa in shikai state. He could get second hand reports with surveilance, but from all the reports his subordinates gave him, there is NO mention of Riku in Bankai.
>>
>>924118
We've used it recently and I expect Mayuri has his surveilance in Seireitei. I'm assuming the one of the most obvious aspects of our bankai is known until proven otherwise.

Hope for the best, plan for the worst.

Plus, even if he is caught off guard, he may get away and then in the next fight he plans ahead.

Or maybe he just gets lucky and puts us between a rock and a hard place.

“Have you considered angling the barrier?” you ask curiously. “Same concept of sloping armor?”

Tenkotsuki shakes her head. “Goryūtenmetsu is an attack which can be guided, it is not a strictly linear blast like most hadō. If this traitor Captain of yours is clever enough to learn how to use it, I have no doubts that he would know the proper angle from which to strike with it. Slopes, angles, spheres... the shape of the barrier counts for very little.”

You consider the options carefully. While both ideas seem to have their strong points, and both seem useful, it will no doubt take a lot of time to learn both... and you're not entirely sure that releasing your Bankai quickly enough is even possible, nor are you certain how best to train to do it. On the other hand it seems useful as a defensive technique. The Goryūtenmetsu has the advantage of being a devastatingly powerful attack, and it's one that Tenkotsuki sounds like she's able to teach you.

“Both sound like they'd be good to know, but I don't think anyone has ever tried to release their Bankai that quickly,” you admit, putting words to your thoughts. “So I don't know where to begin with that sort of training.”

“Bankai isn't exactly meant to be used explosively,” Yoruichi shrugs, before pausing for a moment. A look of dawning comprehension spreads across her features.

“The most difficult part of a Bankai is maintaining it,” she muses aloud, “but we don't exactly need that here, do we? So what if we turned Tenkotsuki's Bankai into a bomb?”

“You mean release it explosively?” you reply, seizing on the idea. “Like a simple pulse, just long enough to counteract a powerful spell?”

Tenkotsuki seems intrigued by the notion of releasing her Bankai in such a manner. “I believe it may actually be possible to do so, though I cannot agree that it could be called a 'bomb' per se. It might look dangerous, but it would have no effect on structures or individuals.”

“We could try it now if you would like?”

>Sure, why not. It would be good to know what the aftermath would be.

“We should find someplace a little further afield,” you suggest. “Not that I don't trust your judgment, Tenkotsuki, but even if this works as-intended there might be some unanticipated side effects.”

“Noted,” Tenkotsuki nods before fading from view, her physical manifestation dissolving as she returns to your blade. “I am ready whenever you are, Lady Riku. Simply call on me as desired and I will do my part.”

“Which means if you fuck up it's on you,” Rosa adds.

“I was not going to say that aloud...” Tenkotsuki sighs.

“I'll use the Valley of Screams,” you continue. “Least chance of collateral there.”

“Agreed,” Yoruichi nods. “I'll inform Kisuke. Be back soon?”

“Yeah, this should only take a moment.”

Using the portal beneath your home, you quickly arrive in the Valley of Screams to find that only Halibel is here at the moment. She regards you carefully from behind a magazine as you approach her at the waterfront.

“To what do I owe the pleasure?”

You rub lightly at the back of your neck. “I needed a place to try out a new technique... a partial Bankai release.”

“Partial?” the arrancar asks, setting her reading aside entirely. “A stable halfway stage, or an unstable temporary state?”

“Unstable,” you explain. “Tenkotsuki and I want to test its use for countering a specific hadō, one which supposedly has no counter.”

“I see. May I watch?”

You shake your head. “From a distance, sure. It's not supposed to be able to harm anyone, but I'd rather not take any chances. If something looks like it's gone wrong I'd prefer that you had time to escape before the pulse reaches you.”

“Very well,” Halibel nods in agreement. “Though I truly doubt such a situation will arise.”

The release should be genuinely explosive, but that doesn't mean a total lack of control. Instead it simply means that you need to command it without necessarily focusing it, to will your force out into the world around you its purest most ephemeral expression. And so instead of calling on the name of your Bankai, which allows you full understanding and control over Tenkotsuki's shinreiryoku, you take a calculated risk.

“Bankai...” you declare, stopping just short of offering a name, and you feel the energy build within your body. Then you will it to release through every pore of your body, more like shunkō's incomplete form than a proper zanjutsu form.

You skin tingles as the unstable corona of energy bursts out from your body in a widening sphere, shimmering and distorting the air with a dull roar.

“It would seem that the technique succeeded,” Tenkotsuki muses as the pulse dissipates without harming your surroundings in the least. “Just as planned.”

“Seems that way,” you agree as Halibel rejoins you. “No less a matter of willpower as any technique you've taught me.”

“Unfortunately there does seem to be a downside,” Tenkotsuki admits. “It will take some time for me to build up my reiatsu to the point where our true Bankai would be usable. If there were to be a subsequent attack I could not defend in a similar manner either.”

With that established, it seems like there are two likely options. You could either accept the current limitations of the technique and begin working on Goryūtenmetsu, or you could work with this as a starting point. The similarity of this technique to shunkō is too much to ignore... if you could similarly find a way to arrest the outpouring of energy, to capture it and recycle it, perhaps you could use it as a starting point for entering Bankai?

“If we could recapture that corona of energy,” you suggest aloud. “Maybe start by stabilizing it into a spherical field?”

“You believe that we could enter Bankai from such a state,” Tenkotsuki theorizes. “It may not be any faster than doing it the normal way, but it would still serve as a defensive release. An extension of this explosive technique that would make it more efficient.”

“It reminds me of my own Tiburón,” Halibel muses, quietly intrigued by what she's hearing.

>Let's try to find a way to form a stable shell of shinreiryoku.

As much as I like the shell idea, that leaves our Shinreiryoku very vulnerable to theft, or does stealing shinreiryoku operate on the principle that you need to destroy the host object/person containing shinreiryoku before someone can steal it?
>And building upon trying to loop it into a state like shunkō, is there a way to compress it inward?
>Other: Halibel, how is this similar to your Tiburón? wanna compare notes?

“How so?” you ask.

“In form alone,” Halibel explains. “My zanpakuto uses swirling, reiatsu-laden water to shield me while the physical transformation takes place.”

You shake your head. “It's not voluntary, is it?”

“You are correct.”

“So it seems the best line of reasoning we have is the similarity to shunkō?” you suggest to Tenkotsuki. “If I can pull that reiatsu back into my body in a stable loop it might work.”

“I have my concerns,” Tenkotsuki admits. “I did not envision you using the reiatsu from my Bankai in this manner. I am not entirely certain that your body can handle the strain... but I must also admit I am intrigued by the possibility of using Bankai in this way. It almost qualifies as an alternative Bankai, one that grants you the benefits without causing collateral difficulties for your allies.”

“So you think I should try it?”

Tenkotsuki ponders the question for several seconds in silence before voicing her opinion. “I do believe it is worth the risk.”

“Then we'll try it,” you agree. “Just let me know when you're ready.”

“At your leisure,” Tenkotsuki informs you.

“Bankai...” you announce, releasing the same powerful wave of energy as before. But this time you consciously pull that power back into your veins, keeping the corona as close to your skin as possible. Like usual your outfit changes to a many-layered kimono with the white Captain's haori over the top, this time the layers clearly reflecting the oncoming of autumn with their gold, scarlet, and orange hues, but the force of the compressed power circulating through your body whips at the fabric like a tempest dancing around you.

Akirashi Shunkō!”

The declaration comes with added force not from excitement or determination, but because of the burning pain that spreads through your body. You're forcibly reminded that this isn't your own power, but the divine power of Tamamo no Mae flowing through your veins. And there's every chance that whenever you use this technique you'll only end up burning yourself from the inside... you don't even know whether releasing Kobara no Tachi will make this better or worse, whether it will strengthen your body or just add to the strain placed on it.

“Are you okay?” Halibel asks you, clearly alarmed at the expression on your face. “You seem like you're in pain.”

“I am,” you grimace. “It's not my reiatsu I'm using here...”

“Do you wish to stop?”

You shake your head defiantly. “No. This is working for now, just do me a favor and help me test it so this isn't a waste of time?”

“I can do that,” Halibel agrees, recalling her first time facing down your Bankai. She reaches behind her back and pulls her zanpakuto out from its sheath. No flourish this time, instead she opts for a clean and simple draw that leads into cocking her right arm back. You ready yourself and your blade as your sparring partner builds visible reiatsu in the empty space at the center of her sword Tiburón, a bright mass like a flickering golden flame.

With a powerful thrust, she sends that reiatsu hurtling towards you. “Ola Azul!”

The blast collides with your blade as you calmly bring it down across your midline, down to your left hip. Instead of feeling the full weight of the impact, the reiatsu dissipates as the aura of your unusual Bankai form makes contact.

“So it does work,” you muse, examining the blade as the looping shinreiatsu envelops it. “It's a risk, but one that seems like it might be worthwhile.”

Also, is it possible Halibel is gonna learn something about using her own shinreiyoku from this demonstration?

I'll sacrifice this genderswapped Toshiro as an offering for the next DC:
Speaking of which, Has there ever been a time where Toshiro was forced to crossdress as a girl? I kinda wanna see an omake where the Shimigami Women's Association forces Toshiro to volunteer as a model for a line of modern girl clothes for some contrived reason.

You settle down, at least in terms of your posture, sitting in seiza on the sandy beach. But as much as you try and focus you just can't seem to quiet your mind or spirit at all. Even shunkō doesn't distract you this much when you use it... it raises a real question as to whether you'll be able to even release your other zanpakuto, the intensity of this technique is so great.

“Sorry, Rosa,” you grumble as you give up meditation. “Doesn't seem like this is going to play nice with your Resurrección.”

Instead of forcing the issue you simply allow the Bankai to fade naturally, and you feel immediately exhausted by the whole experience.

“Are you okay, Lady Riku?” Tenkotsuki and Halibel both ask at about the same time. While it's initially jarring, you can respond to both of them at once.

“Just burned out,” you admit. “It's a very fierce, higher-intensity release than the more passive version I was first taught.”

“And I think you're right,” Rosa adds sternly. “Couldn't get a word in edgewise. If I were released first... I dunno what would happen. It could reduce the stress on you, or it could turn that first burst into a real bomb.”

“You think it could cause collateral?”

“Small chance, but if it did happen any shinigami around much lower than Lieutenant level would just be scorch marks on the ground.”

“Can't take that risk,” you mutter. “I've gotta consider these two releases incompatible, just accept that fact.”

“Why is that?” Halibel asks, having not been privy to the discussion you had with Rosa.

“I might accidentally go nuclear if I try,” you admit with a frown. “That's the risk of using a Captain's reiatsu in a controlled explosion... if you lose the control, all you're left with is a bigass explosion.”

Geez Riku's giving it up as bad job after one try? That is real unfortunate.

Also, even if it did leave the Lieutenants around her as scorch marks, unless that auto-kills Riku that MAY still have some utility. Something worth testing at least.

“I think I'm done for the day,” you admit, holding out your hand so that Halibel can help haul you back to your feet. “No sense pushing any deeper into exhaustion... still plenty of time to get the hang of the Goryūtenmetsu.”

“That does sound wise,” Halibel agrees. “Though I must admit, I am impressed.”

“Yeah?” you chuckle. “That I figured out a new Bankai release like that?”

“No, that you finally learned to respect your limits,” Halibel answers, raising an eyebrow at you.

“Very funny,” you shoot back. “Though I would like to see a demonstration, if Tenkotsuki would be willing.”

“Of course,” Tenkotsuki responds, manifesting herself once more. “And for your benefit I will include the full incantation.”

She slowly but confidently reaches out with her left hand, five fingers spread wide as swirling white reiatsu builds along her arm from fingertips all the way up to her shoulder. Even her tails begin to glow with the arcane power that she's ready to unleash.

“Imperishable flame, blade of ice, seal of blood, curse of the earth, promise of Heaven. Arise from the cold black tide, descend with a crash that shakes the world asunder!”

“Hadō #99: Goryūtenmetsu!”

The earth beneath Tenkotsuki's feet rends itself from the force she exerts, causing it to rise and fall as geysers of sand bubble and burst forth from great cracks. Her white reiatsu burns hot as it now rotates around her in a disk, its leading edge taking the shape of a massive dragon's head and lashing out with blinding speed out over the water in the Valley of Screams. When it detonates in the distance the pressure wave whips at your uniform, forcing you and Halibel to shelter your eyes from the blowing sand... then a second blast, and a third.

By the fifth and final blast, you're certain that whatever Tenkotsuki aimed that attack at is gone... along with anything that happened to be unfortunate enough to be around it.

“What was that?” Halibel asks, astonished at the show of power. “I was unaware that any kidō could produce that sort of blast.”

“That was the technique I wish to teach Lady Riku,” Tenkotsuki sighs tiredly. “So can you at least say that you understand why this technique is not widely taught?”

“It's as Yoruichi said... most Captains couldn't do that. And if they could...”

“It would mark them as a special threat,” Halibel concludes.

Given that full release merges all three into one being, wouldn’t:

>You're forcibly reminded that this isn't your own power, but the divine power of Tamamo no Mae flowing through your veins.

No longer be a problem in that state?
>>
>>924833
It's a problem with the fundamental stability of that form. While Higeki no Ojou and Kobara no Tachi mesh well due to the former's relatively passive nature. Put together, and it seems IC like it's just too much.
>>
>>924814
You return quietly to the Seireitei, accompanied by Halibel, and practically collapse into the first convenient seat.

“So?” Yoruichi asks, awaiting news.

“It worked,” you tell her. “It takes a while to build up power afterward, but if need be I can loop it back into my veins the same way we completed shunkō.”

“That sounds dangerous.”

“It is.”

Urahara, who seems to be writing down notes from his previous experiment, looks up from his work. “Hopefully you won't need to use it that way then, but it's interesting to know that you can.”

“Interesting?” you press, not liking the choice of words.

“Yes. Being able to use divine power in the way you described has potentially interesting implications for the rest of us who lack it,” Urahara explains. “Though it may also be that while your own reserves of shinreiryoku are locked behind Bankai, your body has gradually acclimated to its release. Really there's no way I can say for sure what this development truly means... as usual.”

“You sound resentful.”

“I am, a little,” Kisuke admits with a tired laugh. “But I've gotten used to it.”

“Well, regardless I'm in desperate need of some rest,” you sigh, before cracking your neck loudly.

The next morning comes late, and you already hear the sounds of training outside.

Unless Rukia and Tatsuki really need the help, seems like they should be doing fine.
>>
>>924883
Did I get this right?
Since Akiarashi Shunkō is an active ability in the form of power armor and divine blood using Tenkosuki's Reiatsu, that means Riku's divine shunko would be incompatibility Kobara no Tachi's active ability of having Estgmas Reversion (explosive blood) and cero traición (Cero that burns foreign reiatsu). Since Rosa is technically Riku and Tenkotsuki is technically a foreign soul/person/goddess, cero traición would see Tenkotsuki's Reiatsu as a foreign entity and try to burn it away which would trigger Estgmas Reversion to activate since Tenkotsuki's Reiatsu is also flowing through Riku's body via blood.

So yeah. We can't use Kobara no Tachi in tandem with Akiarashi Shunkō because using both at once would make Riku literally explode.
>>
>>924993
That IS the implication, yes. That if you forced it, the result could be a total and likely fatal loss of control. This kills the Riku and everyone around her.
>>
>>924959
>Oversee Rukia and Tatsuki for a while, offer some pointers

>>925019

So, it could be possible someday, but not for a while?
>>
>>925056
more like tried to overlap abilities over one another. With Kobara no Tachi as is, Riku would explode. But If you modify the Ressurecion release by leaving out Estgmas Reversion (the ability responsible for exploding blood and consequently making Riku explode if she forced it), then Riku can use both Kobara no Tachi and Akiarashi Shunkō without fear of self-exploding.
>>
>>925019
What is the cero energy made of? Is it possible to perform a basic cero with a different energy source like your own reiatsu? If so that could open up some interesting possibilities like Riku exploiting her Shinreiryoku properties by using Cero Tirador to fire a Reiatsu piercing bullet.

You head out into the garden where you find your two protegees hard at work sparring with one another. It seems that Rukia is trying to teach Tatsuki about kenjutsu, which makes a certain amount of sense. The young human has next to no experience fighting against an armed opponent with the sort of talent expected to correlate with her new level of power, which could be a problem.

“Incorrect,” Rukia sighs, returning her own sword to a low ready position. “Be mindful of how my blade has to move, select your target based on that information.”

As Tatsuki tries to target Rukia's left shoulder, you clear your throat loudly.

“This doesn't really serve a purpose,” you offer your criticism.

“We both felt that learning more about how a swordsman attacks would be of benefit,” Rukia tries to explain, but you shake your head and repeat your critique.

“Pointless,” you insist. “Tatsuki's release doesn't involve a blade at all. What she needs is the knowledge of how best to attack an armed opponent, not how to wield a sword herself. And even were she to begin learning it is far too late now for that to make a difference.”

“So what do you propose?” Tatsuki grumbles, already seeming upset at her lack of progress before being told any progress she did make would have been pointless.

“Your advantage against the sword is your ability to be direct,” you instruct, raising your arms and gesturing for Tatsuki to attack. “You can attack in a straight line while your opponent must attack in an arc.”

To illustrate the point you block the hilt of Tatsuki's zanpakuto with your left palm and step in for a palm strike to the tip of her chin. “Against a single blade you also have the advantage of being able to strike in two places at once. Always look for openings where you can deliver the first strike, and never do one thing with one hand only. You have two hands, always be doing something purposeful with both or you lose advantage.”

“Wing Chun?” Tatsuki asks as she sheaths her zanpakuto.

You nod. “That's right. Now Rukia, let me see your Shikai.”

“Yes ma'am,” your subordinate nods resulutely. “Dance, Sode no Shirayuki!”

For the first time in what feels like a long time, you're treated to the sight of Rukia's all-white zanpakuto: pale from the tip of its blade to the end of the streamer trailing from its hilt. Her reiatsu feels better than it has been in a while, now fully recovered from her ordeal and near-execution several weeks ago as well as her loss to the Superstar more recently.

“Pretty,” you comment. “I'd almost forgotten that you actually earned that haori of yours, it's been so long since I've seen you release your blade.”

“I will try to take that as a compliment, Captain.”

“You both know I'm far greedier than that,” you grin wickedly. “Tenri! Please bring a timer and follow me to the training ground!”

A few minutes later you stand at the center of an evacuated training field, with Tenri standing amid a crowd of curious onlookers and Tatsuki and Rukia out near the center with you. You nod to Tatsuki.

“Please release your zanpakuto... I trust that you know how to do that.”

In response she draws her sword from behind her back, and holds it out in front of herself parallel to the ground. “Pummel, Tōōkenjū!”

Tatsuki's release sees the saffron-colored of her zanpakuto's cord-wrapped hilt envelop her wrists all the way up to her elbows, then slowly solidify as dyed cloth wrappings over plain black bridal gauntlets which are themselves secured to a pair of black metal knuckle dusters. The sleeves of her shihakusho also disappear, mimicking your own Onmitsu uniform, and her reiatsu starts to feel appropriate for a Lieutenant. Honestly, it's just a little more impressive than Rukia's right now.

“I approve,” you nod, drawing Tenkotsuki from her sheath. “And now you'll get to see mine, in the style of combat that made me infamous.”

“Prohibit, Tenkotsuki!”

You feel your own power surge, and beckon to your students.

“Come.”

“The timer is set for five minutes,” Tenri announces. “Starting now.”

Without hesitating in the slightest Tatsuki comes at you with her fists raised, her own knuckles stopping Tenkotsuki's swing and lashing out at your ribs. You easily block the punch and plant your foot in her gut, sending her reeling as Rukia lines up for her own attack. Tenkotsuki's blade meets with Sode no Shirayuk, and you merely carry through with the momentum of your turn and land a left hook against Rukia's temple that sends her flying.

“Come on, take this seriously!” you shout. “At this rate you're gonna die the first time you see an arrancar!”

“You've got to want something!” you continue, pummeling Tatsuki with a series of kicks while she seems too focused on what you're doing with her sword. “If you wanna live you gotta do something about it!”

Finally she seems to block one of your punches, and without her knowledge you loop a thin kidō chain around her wrist as Rukia fires off a blast of ice.

“Second dance, Hakuren!”

The icy blast envelops you as Tatsuki vaults backwards, but that momentary victory only lasts for a second before you shatter the ice around your body and yank on the chain around Tatsuki's wrist, bringing her hurtling back into your waiting fist. She hits the ground like a sack of potatoes, and with a single hirenkyaku you drive your fist into Rukia's gut hard enough to lift her off her feet. She collapses to her knees and you step over her, walking close to where Tenri stands amid a crowd of stunned shinigami.

“Time?”

“Four minutes and thirty seconds remaining,” Tenri replies.

“I'm not stopping until that timer does!” you call out as your students struggle to their feet. “So you two need to get your asses in gear or you're gonna have a real bad day!”

“First dance, Tsukishiro!” Rukia shouts as your blades clash and she steps past you. The icy circle at your feet gives you plenty of warning to evade, and Tatsuki's punch is entirely too predictable.

“Rikujōkōrō!” you declare as you block her punch with the side of your blade and grab her by the shoulder with your free hand, pinning her in place with bakudō.

As Rukia tries to use that moment to slash at you, it's easy enough to kick her blade out of alignment and extend your left fingertips towards her. “Hainawa!”

With a powerful pull, you bring Rukia down into your knee and break both of the spells binding the students. They both stagger, Rukia more so, but it seems like they're still willing and able to continue.

For the next exchange, you decide to get a little playful... in the sense that a cat might 'play' with a mouse before eating it, that is. You take a page out of Yoruichi and Suì Fēng's books and use multiple instances of the Onmitsu technique Utsusemi, leaving Rukia and Tatsuki staring in amazement at not two but seven copies of yourself. You know that your peers can do more copies than this, particularly Little Bee who has made it a point to thoroughly master this technique, but for something you hardly ever use you can't help but be a little proud of the feat.

“Now,” you and your copies taunt, “let's see how you handle this.”

With so many Rikus running around neither of your students really know how to engage at first, though Tatsuki is definitely more able to adapt to what basically amounts to a bar fight in terms of spacing and tempo. She manages to keep on her toes, only taking a pair of solid hits, but Rukia quickly loses her temper and backpedals to gain some distance. She raises her zanpakuto point-down, preparing to fire off another Hakuren...

… but the second time she stabs the ground she finds herself ironically frozen in place.

“Hyōga Seiran,” you announce the name of the spell as Rukia struggles to free herself from the icy trap, which oddly enough Tatsuki manages to simply slide free from to attack you with a powerful hakuda-enhanced blow.

Which you simply stop cold, slamming your hilt into her gut.

“I'm telegraphing too much,” Rukia pants, finally steady on her feet again. “Particularly Hakuren is too slow to set up, giving you too much time to simply move out of the way or strike first.”

“Correct,” you nod, steel meeting between you and your Commando. “Tatsuki, what's going on with you?”

“I'm not quick enough,” she admits, narrowly missing with another powerful punch. “I can't switch between altering one thing and the next quickly enough to capitalize.”

“Also correct. If you can't find a way to be fast and strong, you need to be able to be both within as short a time span as possible.”

You kick at her with your right heel, but she manages to move out of the way as Rukia brings up her zanpakuto to disrupt Tenkotsuki's swing... and you use hirenkyaku to sidestep the following swing.

“You've both improved, but you've got a long way to go,” you commend them. “Keep going until the timer goes off, and try and work on what you've been falling short on. I'll go a little easier on you to make that possible.”

Then you kick Rukia in the teeth, nearly blindsiding her as she pauses to think. “I said a little easier Kuchiki, don't go spacing out on me yet!”

By the end of the five minutes you've managed to work up a sweat and run Rukia and Tatsuki nearly into the ground. But they both thank you, heading off in different directions to consider how to solve the problems you highlighted. Rukia for her part drags Sode no Shirayuki's tip against the ground, leaving an icy trail behind her, while Tatsuki seems to be bouncing on her toes and throwing punches as if testing the interval between each hop and each punch.

As for you, the time seems right to take care of something.

Well if Tatsuki's Shikai covers her palms as well she could go for grabs, disarms and grapples. Assuming all Zanpakto are roughly as hard as each other she wouldn't have to worry that much so long as she didn't try to grab a sword mid-swing. Just trying to punch someone negates being able to just hug someone and go for grabs/throws. She could also try some tricky shit with her phasing power. I'm sure just having an attack straight up go through someone would mess with most people.

Leaving a note in the office for Rangiku, you decide to go check up on your nephew. With everything that's been going on lately you've almost forgotten that he's probably been going through his own trials in the world of the living, what with exams and everything going on in Karakura town spiritually-speaking.

So you tear open a hole in reality and make for the living world, only to find that the portal on the other end opened up somewhere you didn't expect. Instead of being near Karakura high school, your garganta spits you out inside of a dimly-lit building. The floors are all tatami, the walls are white plaster with dark wooden beams, and above you on the ceiling is a painted image of two white foxes leaping around the center of the room.

Wait... are you where you think you are?

“Nope, not doing this right now,” you announce, leaving the interior of the large Inari shrine on the outskirts of town behind you. “I'm busy right now, I'll deal with this later!”

One of the priests stares at you slack-jawed, or at least he's staring at the gigai Tenkotsuki created for you, and you mumble something about the weather as you storm past and down the hill. When you're clear of view, you dash for Karakura high with a hirenkyaku that carries you a full half kilometer in one step.

Finally you reach Karakura high and pirouette in through the window while nobody seems to be paying attention... nobody, that is, except for Shinji and Ichigo.

“Seriously?” Ichigo groans when he sees you.

You frown. “Good to see you too, Ichigo.”

Sado stares intently at the open book on his desk as the other students chat, pretending not to know you're here. The other two young friends of his and the loud lesbian seem to take similar measures.

“It's not good to see you here,” Ichigo protests quietly... well quietly for him at least. “Every time you show up at my school it means something bad either has happened, is happening, or is gonna happen soon. So which is it?”

“That's not nice, Kurosaki-kun,” Inoue reprimands your nephew in a tone that makes you want to claw your ears out with your fingernails for some reason. “You should be more respectful towards your aunt.”

“Actually, I'm glad you're here for once,” Shinji admits in a low voice. “Something's come up.”

“And what is that?”

He glances around cautiously before leaning in to speak in a whisper. “Lisa's gone missing. I want you to help us find her.”

Omake ideas:

Videogames make their way to Seireitei. The Captains hold a board meeting to discuss how to deal with the sudden spike of laziness among the lower ranks of Shimigami and the apparent formation of a black market trade of videogame contraband. Then Riku finds out Yamamoto apparently plays Tetris when no one is looking.

Riku takes a week off to go to the mortal world and travel the world for a bit in a Gigai (she somehow gets approval from Yamamoto). And she experiences the horrible ride of flying in an airplane from Kyoto to Detroit/or San Francisco.

The Arrancars (Tia, Apacci, Mila Rose, SunSung, Starrk, Lilynette) come across a McDonalds (it got Night Shifted) that is somehow stationed in Hueco Mundo. And they find other Menos eating at the establishment as well.

After turning into a living!human Shimigami, Tatsuki meets her abilities turned Zampakuto Spirit face to face in meditation.

This is a two century old spiritual being who was there firsthand to see ten thousand German soldiers killed at Messines in about 20 seconds. And even that pales in comparison to the Great Kanto earthquake, the firebombings of major Japanese cities, the atom bombs...

Part of the reason it never came up is because I felt mentioning it would be in poor taste, but partly it's because Riku has been exposed to so much death and disaster over the course of her career that it would hardly register for her.

Oh man, sorry I missed the rest of the session King. Wasn't able to offer any two cents during Rukia and Tats' sparring. The spirit is willing, but the body needs sleep bad.

Anyway, how in-depth is Riku's knowledge about Rukia's kidou skill level? Particularly how she's able to do that... split casting? Feint casting? I dunno what else to call it.

And if so, maybe Riku can drop hints to utilize a fake out in her zanpakutou's repertoire of 'dances' in the same vein Rukia applies in her kidou.

In any case, thanks for the read.

- OMAKE: The Longest Day -

One hour. You left Narita one full hour ago and still there's no end in sight.

“Excuse me,” you ask a passing stewardess in a blue blouse and a gray pencil skirt, “how long was this flight supposed to be?”

“Nine hours and fifty-five minutes,” the young woman replies as the bottom drops out of your stomach. Nine more hours? How the hell are you supposed to last that long? The thought of being cooped up inside this glorified flying cigar tube for that long practically makes your skin crawl.

The stewardess pauses for a moment. “First time flying, ma'am?”

“No,” you tell her, recalling against your will the only other time. “Second, actually. It just feels wrong somehow, the loss of control... you know?”

“I hear that from time to time,” the stewardess reassures you, “you're not the only one who feels that way. Dinner will be served in a few minutes, would you like the Japanese set or the steak?”

“We're heading for America,” you reason aloud, “so the steak I guess. Medium.”

“I'll let the chef know.”

When the stewardess moves on, the divider between your 'suite' and your neighbor lowers to reveal a cat-like grin.

“You're not taking this well,” Yoruichi purrs, taunting your perceived lack of fortitude. “Need a hand to hold?”

“Shut up,” you mutter, crossing your arms defensively. Wait, are you... pouting? That's not like you at all. This damned machine's making you crazy!

For her part, Yoruichi's tone softens. “This really does bother you, doesn't it?”

“You know the reason why,” you insist across the low dividing wall. “Relying on a machine to do something for us just feels wrong. Even those tools of yours rely on our own power.”

“The point was to make this relaxing, that's why we specified First Class seats,” Yoruichi reminds you. “Would you be happier back in economy?”

“At least then we'd be sitting next to each other.”

“Oh, so it's not cozy enough for you?” she asks, the playful tone back in her voice.

“This is basically a belated honeymoon,” you observe. “What, with a romantic round-the-world vacation and all, just the two of us. And everyone else on this blasted piece of human-designed madness.”

“... okay.”

After a moment you notice what she's up to, and you can't quite believe it. “Yoruichi, what are you doing!?

Instead of remaining in her seat as she's supposed to, Yoruichi hooks her legs over the dividing barrier and swings her body across to your side, coming to rest in the seat next to you. With a brief and awkward dance of sorts she pulls the seatbelt across you both and settles in.

“There's no way this is going to get a pass,” you frown, “though I appreciate the gesture.”

Yoruichi shrugs. “Let me worry about that.”

When the stewardess returns with your dinner, her response is predictable. “Ma'am, please return to your seat for your own safety!”

“See this?” Yoruichi replies, handing the stewardess a piece of paper produced from her pocket. “Do you know what this is?”

“It's a koseki?” the stewardess replies, recognizing the family registration form commonly used in Japan. “Ma'am, you really do need to...”

“Can you tell me what the names are on this form?”

The stewardess stares intently at the kanji for Yoruichi's name. “Miss Shihōin Yoruichi and Miss Shihōin Riku?”

Yoruichi nods subtly. “Yes, that's right. And does this look like my blood sister to you?”

“No, ma'am, she doesn't...” she replies, her eyes widening as she puts the pieces together. Yoruichi's research on modern marriage practices in Japan suggested that while same-sex marriage is technically not recognized under the terms laid out in the Japanese constitution, marriage itself is of secondary concern. Since the late 1800's the more important document is the koseki, or family registry, which records all changes in the household composition including birth, marriage, divorce, death... and most importantly in this situation, adoption.

Being listed on this form as Yoruichi's adopted “sister”, and the only other person in the household, makes the implication pretty much crystal clear.

“It defeats the purpose of traveling together if one of us is miserable the whole way,” your wife of five decades insists quietly. “Wouldn't you agree?”

“I... can clear it with the rest of the flight crew,” the stewardess tells you both. “But you'll still have to return to your seat for approach and landing.”

“That's fine, thank you.”

After finishing your dinner, the rest of the flight passes much more pleasantly than you expected. You even manage to catch a few hours of sleep en route.

Oh Riku please. 300 years ago it takes 1 month for us humans to make a trip from London to Jamestown. 100 years ago it took one week for us humans to cross the Atlantic with the latest advancements. Now in 2001 it takes 8 hours for us make the trip. And we don't have the luxury of having the superhuman enhancements that Reiatsu provides. And you complain about a 10-hour flight across the Pacific? Please get off the spiritual cloud you fly on and get some human perspective.

Where did Riku and Yoru visit?
>>
>>934753
she's ok with hardship, it's relying on something other than self-mastery for something that bugs her.

Relying on tools is a very non japanese way of things, and very much a bad idea in bleach. So her instincts are screaming that the whole powered flight thing is a bad idea.
>>
>>934898
This is correct. Riku wouldn't be bothered by anything short of crossing the Pacific in a coffin, but doing it in a plane is all kinds of wrong to her. As Urahara's omake was intended to show his thought process, this was partly intended to counterbalance that as Riku has a strain of deep skepticism towards things that are designed to take control out of her hands.

She shares that with Aizen.
>>
>>935559
It's ironic that both of them hate the lack of control yet they're steering themselves on a path to godhood in which being a god ultimately means forfeiting the right to personally influence the mortal and spiritual realms. The only difference is between the two is Riku has an awareness to the laws of celestial bureaucracy and tries to remain a law abiding citizen while Aizen's on a power trip of a divine Übermensch.

- OMAKE: Training Day -

Ishida Uryū dodges another shot, frantically scrambling to line up a shot with his own bow before a blade slashes through his weapon. Fragments of reishi scatter into the air like glass and dust as he loses control of the bogen, and his opponent scowls at him in plain disgust. The little five-pointed cross of silver dangles from a slender chain around his wrist, deactivated by the blow.

“You need to do better than that,” Bambietta insists sternly as Ishida pants from the exertion. “Right now your aim is good and your control is admirable, but you come apart like wet paper in melee... and most of your opponents from here on are going to be melee experts. They'll close with you, overpower you, and kill you.”

“I was taught that quincy always use bows,” Ishida insists defiantly. “That is what my grandfather taught me.”

“We fight with reishi,” she corrects the claims of the boy's erstwhile mentor. “And even if we're talking about projectiles your arrows are weak and slow. Not strong enough or fast enough to beat an arrancar, and nowhere close to matching a Sternritter.”

To illustrate the point Bambietta sets her blade in the ground point-down and tosses one of her reishi bomblets at the ground in front of Ishida's feet, throwing him back and raising a cloud of dust and debris. His white outfit disappears, though Bambietta's eyes remain fixed on where he at one point stood. She doesn't have to move, as her keen senses have already told her that her student hasn't chosen to move yet.

“You may have the traditions down pat,” she mocks, sidestepping a stream of small blue arrows from within the cloud that dissipate in the distance, “but even that Kurosaki boy is more effective at fighting like a quincy. What service do traditions do you when they serve no practical purpose? There's a difference between tradition and dogma.”

Uryū emerges from the cloud with a blade drawn, and Bambietta spins her broad sword up from the ground to smack his wrist out of the way with the spine, before resting the edge against his throat.

“You anticipated the seele schneider?”

Bambi shakes her head. “You're just too damn slow with it, and even if you weren't I can vibrate mine faster. What you need to do is learn how to defend yourself in close quarters.”

“I wonder if the shinigami have to put up with this sort of thing...”

“Not good enough!”

Suzumebachi's golden point narrowly misses Oetsu's body having been easily deflected by a blow to Suì Fēng's wrist. The older shinigami, having long since known what the zanpakuto in question can do, knows that so long as he's able to keep track of the sole spot where hes been hit previously he can easily avoid being hit there again, and thus completely nullify Suì Fēng's specialty.

“Yer relyin' too much on the zanpakuto,” he insists, avoiding a blow from Tenken as he chides his “students”. “Yer fighten styles are predictable... Tenken only goes down and Suzumebachi's targets're literally marked on my body. You gotta learn how ta fight fer yerselves!”

Though Komamura continues to swing at Oetsu futilely, his fellow Captain elects to stand still, gazing down at the weapon on her hand. She nods seemingly to herself and turns away from Oetsu, and approaches another one of the Royal Guard.

“You would be Kirinji, correct?” she asks the pompadoured man. “I have heard of the skills of 'Lightning-Fast' Kirinji from Lady Yoruichi.”

Kirinji glances down a the diminutive Captain. “And what'd she say 'bout 'em?”

“She praised your skills.”

Kirinji seems honestly surprised. “Did she now? I'd figure nobody'd remember me anymore after all these years.”

Sensing opportunity, Suì Fēng sets the proverbial hook. “She insisted that your skills with shunpo were nearly a match for her own.”

There's a painful, intense silence before Kirinji speaks. “Nearly a match?”

“Indeed, and to be compared not entirely unfavorably to the Goddess of Flash herself is quite the compliment... the comparison to Captain Kusajishi's hirenkyaku is hardly applicable.”

Kirinji nearly blows a fuse on the spot. “Is it really?”

“It has been said that hirenkyaku is faster and smoother than shunpo,” Suì Fēng muses innocently, “at least compared between practitioners of equivalent skill. It would hardly be fair to compare the two.”

“Faster and smoother...” Kirinji practically seethes. “Faster and smoother...”

A loud crash marks yet another failure by Komamura to hit his opponent with Tenken's shikai as Kirinji broods. Suì Fēng continues to reel her victim in. “Is there a problem, Lightning-Fast Kirinji? I would, of course, appreciate a demonstration of the skills which place you in the same league as my mentor.”

“Oh, of course!” Kirinji growls. “I'll show you skills alright...”

Tenken is kind of cool, but it's totally impractical when faced with a skilled swordsman because you can't swing it upwards at all and its horizontal arc is subject to the terrain. Its only advantage is bulk and raw power, and in canon you'd have to be kind of dumb to ever let Komamura force you into playing "his game".

Of all the Captains he has the furthest to go to be worth something in the fights ahead.

Even as Kirinji and Suì Fēng exchange a lightning-fast series of punches and kicks, with the smaller Captain struggling to keep up the absurd pace, Kuchiki Rukia and Arisawa Tatsuki have taken a brief recess in their own training.

“So why are you really here, Arisawa?”

Tatsuki glances up, her focus having been snapped from her cup of cool barley tea. “You mean why am I training like this?”

“You would not come here on vacation, would you?” Rukia jokes, leaning heavily on her sword. “There must be some compelling reason, and I doubt that Ichigo is all there is to it.”

“Nope,” Tatsuki grumbles, “that's really the size of it, but not out of anything romantic idea of loyalty or anything.”

“Then what?”

Tatsuki sighs, setting her cup aside. “You know I've known Ichigo since we were kids, right?”

“He may have mentioned this, yes.”

“Well, we used to go to the same dojo growing up, not long after his parents started that clinic they run,” Tatsuki explains thoughtfully. “Always had a dumb grin on his face, never stood up for himself... a total pushover. I landed one solid punch to his jaw and he fell over crying.”

Rukia stares at the young human, plainly awestruck. “That can't be true! Ichigo? Really?”

Tatsuki laughs softly. “Yeah, what a little dork he was... but one smile from his mom and a word of encouragement and he was back on his feet again. Still crying of course, but ready for more. And then one day things changed.”

“What happened?”

“He got good,” Tatsuki comments, her tone betraying the fact that she's still surprised to this day. “I think it was right around the time he started seeing ghosts when he put me flat on my ass... we've never sparred since. First and last time he ever beat me.”

“You must really care about him,” Rukia comments quietly. “I never knew you went back that far. But you said it wasn't because of loyalty?”

“I never forgave that bastard!” Tatsuki insists, clenching her fist. “Yeah, sure, we dated for a while... but still, he beat me once! It's not like losing one match in the pros means your career is over, I always felt like I had something to prove. Not to him, but to me. I never stopped improving, and he's still way out ahead of me, even today!”

“Just because we lose doesn't mean we stop,” she concludes. “It stopped being about Ichigo years ago.”

Rukia contemplates this new information for a few moments. "So, if I may be so bold, what was Ichigo like as a... boyfriend?"

You know I just realized, Kumamora of all people may benefit the most from using Riku's patented Bankai-shunko technique (that we just developed this thread) since his main weakness usually revolves around him swinging the cumbersome bulk of a giant samurai mecha in both Shikai and Bankai.
>>
>>939198
What he needs to do is learn to manifest it from different angles than just behind himself. Or simply compressing it. "Simply". But really, imagine if that thing was smaller but still weighed the same. Penetrating power would be enormous.

And try stabbing with it.

Mind over matter!
Jk, see you later. It's too bad all the dangerous people working for Aizen are human sized. Doggo would fucking annihilate anyone half the size of a Menos Grande.

See you later. Sleep and remember to drink water.

Imagine if compressing it to a smaller size made it proportionally faster. He'd be on a JJBA level all of a sudden.

Kumamora pls.

Problem there is that Doge only has one skill that's up to snuff by current Captain standards: his physical power. His kidō and hohō are lacking, his hakuda relies on power over skill, and his zanjutsu is limited by the nature of his weapon. He literally couldn't learn a perfected shunkō without decades of supplementary and corrective training, and then he'd be able to try the Bankai trick that even Riku thinks is kind of situational at best, a gamble with the user's life at worst.

This guy had it right >>939272
Doge's abilities just aren't a good match for most of the coming fights, which is why Oetsu's working with him personally. Otherwise, with SSQ going the way it is, he'd die for sure without contributing anything.

And that'd just be a waste.

Huh, is that a tact admission that the Miracle is dead?

Yeah they're both big guys, but the Miracle is fucking stupidly broken.

Queen just said Doge is shit at kido did you not understand him?
The only thing Doge's got going for him that makes him special is that he's got a shikai/bankai that gives him a giant samurai mecha with a soul link of an Evangelion.

“He's... not exactly what you'd call a ladies' man, not by a long shot,” Tatsuki admits somewhat sheepishly. “Half the girls in our class are terrified of him, half the girls are into him, and the two halves sometimes overlap.”

“You mean Inoue?” Rukia asks with a raised eyebrow. For her part Tatsuki seems impressed that Rukia can remember the name.

“So you noticed that, huh?” Tatsuki shifts her weight and crosses her legs the other way. “Ichigo's kind of a complicated guy. All 'bad boy' and scowls on the outside, which makes it kind of hard for people who don't already know him to even talk to him. That's always been what kept Orihime from talking to him. But on the inside he's still that soft-hearted kid I beat up at the dojo... neither one of them's perfect.”

“He keeps people at arm's length,” Rukia surmises, “and excludes them from his life, because he assumes that being close to him is dangerous.”

“That's about the size of it,” Tatsuki nods. “That and he's got the worst sense of timing.”

Rukia smiles. “How so?”

“Well, the first time he ever asked me out on a date he had just gotten done fighting this delinquent in one of the other classes,” Tatsuki recounts thoughtfully. “I was helping him wash a bit of blood off his face, and he asks me if I'm busy over the weekend. I tell him no, I just have conditioning on Saturday, and he asks me if I wanted to go see a movie. Says we could get dinner while we're out, his treat.”

“He asked to take you to dinner with blood on his face?”

Tatsuki chuckles to herself. “Yeah he did. Oh, he backed off quick though, said it was to thank me for helping him get cleaned up and hide the fact he'd been fighting from the teachers. But that sorta maneuver doesn't really work when you're blushing that hard.”

“Did he do that thing where he looks away dramatically?” Rukia asks, and Tatsuki nods emphatically.

“Yeah, he does that every time he gets embarrassed!”

“And then the whole time he pretended you weren't together?” Rukia presses.

Tatsuki cocks an eyebrow. “Hey, were you spying on us or something?”

“No, he just does that every time he has to go somewhere with a woman,” Rukia explains. “I've seen him do it around the Captain too... and especially around Lieutenant Matsumoto.”

“Well have you seen Matsumoto recently?” Tatsuki asks, gesturing at her own chest. “A bombshell like that'd do it for sure, and what's worse she's his cousin.”

“That certainly would make it awkward,” Rukia nods sagely. “So, do you have any other stories from when you and Ichigo were involved?”

“Rukia... you have no idea.”

His zanpakuto would channel the spell. The giant who mimics his actions would simply spin the sword in the same manner, but it would take a huge amount of reiatsu to cast Tenran through that blade instead as well as better control on Komamura's part.

Hado 58 isn't exactly the most difficult to use. Its a spell usually used by LTs.

This scandalous part of the omake is too delicious to ignore. what's even more delicious is that his blushing actually befits the name "strawberry" and the fact that he acts this way.

So we need to tease ichigo super hard from now on, huh?
Time to be the sexy aunt and give him confusing boners.

Jesus Kumamora. I don't know whether or not to be envious or pity the fact that your sword gave you a giant samurai mecha to use as a weapon, yet you fight like shit. Do you have ideas on how Kumamora gits gud?
Unless Kumamora somehow finds a creative use for Tenken in both Shikai and Bankai only thing I can imagine him meaningfully contributing to the war at this point is using his bankai to sweep through the enemy footsoldiers and generally soaking up lots of damage potentially directed towards our own army as a meatshield as anti-infantry armor Before he gets unceremoniously one-shotted.

He should enter his own bankai so his real body can't be attacked.
If he can cast spells through his bankai on it's scale at the cost of massive amounts of energy, that'd be pretty hardcore.

And if he could work on his bankai's speed, it's overwhelming size could be a decent advantage.
It's easy enough to dodge something big going slow, but really hard to dodge something big going fast.
>>
>>940019
>He should enter his own bankai so his real body can't be attacked.

That would work if any damage done to his bankai didn't hurt him in the same way as well. Not a very good suit of armor if it does the exact opposite of protecting you.
>>
>>940019
Maybe he could try manifesting different body parts of Tenken instead of the usual pair of arms and legs. Imagine Kumamora pulling Bayonetta-styled Wicked Weaves with Tenken.
