Around him are the Ginyu Force, all lined up together, and a smaller person in what looks like armored... robes? Huh? He almost looks like a Koala. Nappa stands with Vegeta, arms crossed.

In the distance, Goku, Piccolo, and the kids watch the scene from afar. Peppa... seems to notice you and waves.

Take kuriza aside, and explain that frieza wouldn't want his son to give up. He miht miss his father, but everyone has their own time - nobody belongs in the living world forever, and the mantle of responsibility must always be passed on. Kuriza has to weather these challenges and grow into the kind of person he has the potential to become. In short, try to get kuriza to step up to the job and grow into a responsible person that the PTO needs. And hell, the kid has ginyu to teach him what he needs to know.

I went through the archives real quick to re-read things.

Raditz went from his cocky canon self to the way he is now for a variety of reasons.

The fact he was waaaay underpowered.

The talk with his mother at Baba's also helped.

His training with both Piccolo and the Crane school taught him more then just techniques I imagine.

He no longer wanted to be Vegeta and Nappa's lackey and treated like a warrior worthy of respect.

He actually got to fight Nappa and prove himself.

His fight on Brench against Super 13 also had him nearly doing the dance showing that he was willing to put aside his pride for the sake of the group. Had that not be interrupted...

Vegeta smack talks because we beat the fuck out of him. As for the Nappa thing? Well...Nappa did raise Vegeta. The only other person who was there just as much was Frieza and we clearly see his influence. Vegeta killing Nappa in-series was his cathartic way of killing the father who failed him and since he killed Frieza that need is already fulfilled. Sparing Nappa's life and allowing him to be big poppa Naps.

Raditz is more demure and probably just knows better to start talking shit.

Then non-Saiyan after all are shown quite capable of fighting evenly/beating SSJ's.

You get to work by sharing, telepathically, a good chunk of what all transpired. Lazuli discovering Cooler’s manipulations of his people. Freeza’s conquests, him destroying Plant. Lazuli’s retaliation against Cooler... and Cold getting killed in the crossfire. And the eventual invasion of Earth. Cooler and King Cold coming for revenge. Freeza coming for the Dragon Balls. Cooler’s defeat, Freeza’s demise, and... King Cold killing you.

“Stop!” Kuriza asks, falling to his knees. “You... you...”

“I know why you want him back, Kuriza. But is... is it really worth it?” you ask, getting to your knees as well. “Or do you think you can be a better person than him? Look... I know what the PTO is, I know what you guys have been through. But I believe you all can take it and make it something better, can’t you?”

Ginyu looks away. “Hmnh. All I’m going to say to you is that... well, the Armored Squadron got what was coming to them.”

Sorbet approaches. “That’s a nice speech and all, but you’re forgetting one thing: the Planet Trade Organization, and especially the Freeza Force, were forged through the fires of war and conquest. Hence the rebellions. We NEED an imposing leader to keep it together. Kuriza is not his father, strong as he may be. People love the boy... but few respect him. Fewer still fear him.”

“Um...” Gohan starts, approaching. “I’ve... been reading books about this. This would have happened eventually anyway. Freeza couldn’t last forever.”

“And who are you to say that?!” Sorbet demands, causing the boy to hide behind you.

“W-well, that’s just the thing though! Big empires held together by conquest don’t last more than a couple generations without breaking apart unless they have reform in some way.”

“Or... a sword.” How would that even work? ...questions, and ideas for later. “Point is, same thing happened on Earth hundreds of years ago. Right, Piccolo?”

“Yes. My father rampaged across the planet until he was eventually trapped away.” the Namekian comments. “His reign of terror lasted less than his own lifetime. And when he returned... well, a certain little monkey and redheaded Tuffle put an end to him in less than a week.”

You and Goku can’t help but grin at that. “Hey, it wasn’t just us. Trip, Tien, Chi-chi, they all helped too.”

You look to Piccolo with an apologetic smile. He shrugs. “The point being, this is just Earth. One little planet in a vast cosmos. Freeza’s plan would fail eventually, even if it took centuries.”

Kuriza gives out a depressed sigh, grimly looking to you. “I... understand.”

“This political stuff is kinda going over my head.” Recoome comments.

“Think of it like this, if Freeza got his plan working, but someone stopped him, we’d be out of a job at best. More likely dead and forgotten.” Guldo comments, gaining glares from his fellow members. “Hey, she does have a point!”

“So... that’s why I think you guys should change it. You can make it better than what you have. Ginyu, you’ve been looking after Kuriza all this time, haven’t you?”

The purple, horned alien nods quietly.

“Then you can help him become a leader to really lead the PTO! Maybe... well, focus more on actual trade, and not just trade of planets! Think of how much more money you could make that way, for starters.” you suggest. “You know, maybe operate it more like how the Galactic King runs things.

“You have some nerve, demanding such changes from us!” Sorbet shouts. “It’s one thing to deny us bringing back Lord Freeza, but these radical changes are too far. Lord Kuriza, don’t listen to her.”

The boy... clenches his fists. He’s angry, he’s confused, and he doesn’t know what to believe. He just wants to yell and vent, but he can't.

You look down on the koala-like alien. “And what do you have as an alternative? That you just go back to the same tried and broken routine? Fall into the same traps that led to this? I suggest that you try to make something sustainable. You have the infactructure for it, don’t you?”

“Listen here, lady! You-”

“Sorbet, please, just... stop.” Kuriza asks. “I’ve heard what you want to say, Maple. I will consider your words.”

Aaaand Krillin and Lapis finally return. Well that’s feels like it lasted far longer than it should have. Gods. “...Kuriza, if you want, we could try and take a peek into the future and see what would happen if you did bring your dad back.”

“...maybe.”

“Fortune telling. Really.” Sorbet comments.

“Hey now, just the other day I got a fortune in a cookie that said I’d meet an old acquaintance again, and look where I ended up.” Burter comments. “Don’t knock it.”

Kuriza walks towards his ship. “Mrs. Maple... I am going to think this over. In a year’s time, I’ll return. We can survive off the things we were gifted by the Doctor for that long, and we can hold back on activities to restructure. But know... that I may not see things your way when I return.”

"Don't trust Towa or any of the Doctors she's with. All they want to do is use your entire government as one gigantic experiment. She used your father, uncle and grandpa and directed them at us. While our fight was inevitable they are the ones who pushed both those fights, our first fight *side glance to Geets* and even more. They have been the orchestrator of all of this.

He looks back. “Why... yes. He’s the one who helped us get out new forces.”

You notice Sorbet grumble something under his breath that you don’t understand but KNOW is probably a swear word, based on how Jeice and some others respond. “...Gero might not be the best person to trust right now. And neither would the person he’s working with. They directed Cold, Cooler, and Freeza at us. They’re from Earth too, and... look, I know the fight was inevitable, but to them this is all one big experiment. You need to stay on guard around them. And... do not trust anyone named Dr. Raichi.”

“Dr. who?”

Lapis, in the distance, shouts something to you all that you can’t quite make out, but your brother’s voice gives him a proper answer. “Our father. The Tuffle phantom filled with revenge. He knows about us, and probably knows about your family, Kuriza. And there’s a chance he could bring back Freeza’s spirit... as a monster of vengance, just like himself.”

Kuriza looks to the blonde Tuffle curiously. “And you are?”

“Her brother. Acer Mahogany. And I come with a bit of a peace offering!” he states, bringing up a case with the Capsule Corp. logo. “Bulma and I whipped this up. They’re new model Scouters, ones that can read even higher Power Levels and have even better security measures.”

“Smart thinking, brobro!” you cheer.

“They’re originally Tuffle inventions, after all. But since you guys make such good use of them... well, might as well share a bit of our tech.” he says with a wink.

Sorbet looks over them, switching one of the new ones with his old Scouter and scanning around. “Hmn... additional languages are added to it.”

“Common Earth ones, plus a few others we picked up.” he states with a smile.

“Very well. We will take this... peace offering. For now.” he grunts, taking the case all too quickly for how disinterested he tries to sound.

“So... don’t wanna stay behind and watch the Dragon get summoned?”

Kuriza walks off coldly, the Ginyu Force filing behind them. Guldo then stops for a moment, and runs over to you. “Ah, wait, Mrs. Maple! Almost forgot!”

He hands you... a data pad of some kind? “Er... what is this?”

“Look, I know this is all rocky with... you guys killing Lord Cooler and King Cold, but we of the Ginyu Force still appreciate what you did for us. We’d still be stuck on that dusty planet if it weren’t for you. Also a thing for that Chiaotzu guy! I’ve made good progress on my skills thanks to his advice.”

“Progress?” you repeat... and Guldo’s gone. You look around, and now he’s in front of the Ginyus, waving to you. That... well huh.

You all watch as they leave, Peppa giving them a friendly wave. “They seem nice, mama.”

“I hope they stay that way.” you sigh out. That... felt more stressful than you were expecting.

With Kuriza finally gone, you all move to Vegeta. “Still haven’t summoned it, Veggie?”

“I’m not taking my chances.” the Saiyan prince responds. “Bald one, do it.”

“Yeah yeah widow’s peak...”

Wait, what? Everyone looks at him funny, Nappa gaining an even smugger grin than Vegeta has.

“I demand of you to keep it that way! Make it so that my mind can NEVER be enslaved by another being! Make me immune to mind control!”

There’s... an odd silence from Shenron. “I SHALL GRANT YOU AS MUCH AS MY POWER CAN ALLOW. BUT SUBTLE MANIPULATION WILL STILL AFFECT YOUR MIND, AND WILLING CONTRACTS THAT CORRUPT IT WILL STILL AFFECT YOU. DO YOU UNDERSTAND?”

Vegeta laughs. “So long as I can never be taken control of, I will accept this. I’m not some pawn, not in anyone’s game!”

“VERY WELL.”

A red light flashes from the Eternal Dragon’s eyes as a blue glow surrounds Vegeta’s body, most prominently around his head. “Perfect. Perfect!”

You look to Nappa briefly. “...what about you?”

“Feh. Maybe I could get my hair-”

“WAIT!” a voice calls out to you all. You look back and... what the, Emperor Pilaf?! He rides up to your group on a horse, with Mai, Shuu, Blue, Tao, Shen, Tien, and Chiaotzu all behind him. “I HAVE A WISH!”
