After a rather drawn out opening ceremony and the first homeroom of the year it is apparently a custom to take a test on the first day of school. Ugh, you didn't expect this. Normally people shouldn't, right? Whatever, just do it.

However before you could finish even the first part of the test the sound of an enourmous explosion. Everyone starts screaming when the tremors pass through and a shockwave makes the windows break.

You blearily try to get your bearings and look around the classroom. Nobody seems hurt at first glance.

You sit back down and get to finishing the test. The others will probably leave soon to their families. You worry for your parents a bit but they wouldn't be back sooner then you anyway, their work takes them too far away from home.

Ignoring the distressed sounds coming from the youths and the teacher trying to see them calm them down.You try to remember how exactly did the cardiovascular system work when you see them evacuate the school out of the corner of your eye. By the time you finish the test the panic has already settled into the city. The ships did take several more shots at the city it seems and once they were floating over it proper they started dropping bombs directly or something. You wonder when will the JSDF arrive?

Shaking your head in slight worry you start to head back home.

Staying to watch the Sky Pirate Mech!

Getting back on your feet you proceed to walk slightly closer to the Mech, it kind of pulverised the floors below this one so you can't be too close. The thing just stands there for a moment before it's head starts to seemingly look from one direction to another. You wonder for a moment why would any anyone build such an ornate machine for war.

Before you can even to begin taking it in further the machine moves with such sudden alacrity that you don't react fast enough to avoid escaping the collapsing floor.

Luckily you only fall down one floor. Once you got enough air back into your lungs, after it got knocked out of you and most of the school was filled with dust. Your legs and ass hurt but you don't seem to be injured or anything. You quickly look for the machine.

It seems to have 'shouldered' it's way through the school itself and now it's on the street using it's guns on something. The thunder of it's weapons is deafening.

Taking the quick route by jumping down onto to the ground floor, making sure to fall correctly, you continue this rather risky 'adventure' and follow the Mech. Taking note how the mech seems to be shooting at what look like JSDF troops you try to find a safe building where you could watch the fight from above.

You run behind the back of the machine while it's distracted by the soldiers, though you don;t think that'll last long. By the time you reach the other side of the street the fight is practically over, what with the metal giant blowing up the soldiers left and right while it barely has a scratch on it.

The last thing you see before going into the out of the way apartment building's stairwell is the Mech getting hit by some sort of rocket.

When you walk onto the roof, after picking the lock to it's door access, you are treated to a rather staggering sight. Your city is in flames. You are broken out of your slump when another thundering boom of the Mech's weapons. You really don't feel like that thing is as cool to you anymore.

You start to hear another distinctive sound and when you turn in it's direction you think you can see fighter planes coming in.

This is back! Two days late, but it's back!

It seems that getting back down stairs seem rather more nerve wracking with the threat of crashing planes crushing you. Once you're out the front the door of the building you do have to run back through the street the Mech is destroying everything sent it's way, which is lucky that the direction you're supposed to head into is the one his back is to.

Running through the now deserted streets you get treated to the sight of the sky being a sight straight from one of those Transformer movies, explosions everywhere. And you see one of those flying battleships crash in the direction of your house!

The big explosion when it does crash opens a pit of despair inside of you. Though you continue to run regardless.

You can't think of any way that your life could properly recover from this, is what you think when you see that your entire street is gone beneath the blackened bulk of the ship. Just before your knees give out another sound, distinct from the continuing explosions. The sound of cracking glass, but like in slow motion.

You turn around and look back into the hellish sky. What you see is even weirder then the rest of the stuff today, a fucking crack in the middle of the sky. Blinding white light is coming from the cracks. And when pieces of the 'sky' fall from the crack the Light seems to wash over everything. Everything but you.

A seeming 'reverse spotlight' is upon you. And before you know it the light show is over. The city is back to normal as if nothing ever happened. The only thing making you think that you weren't a part of some psychedelic experiment is the little ball of metal that just flew as fast as a bullet to you. It's right in front of your face.

What the fuck.
